Cold Water Brewery and Grill in South Lake Tahoe offers a modern setting with wooden walls where you can enjoy their handcrafted beers like Water House Wheat, Mr. Toad's Wild Rye, and Hall of the Gods Porter alongside California-style comfort food for lunch, dinner, and Sunday brunch.
Maria was a great and very attentive server. I love the vibe here, and I especially appreciate that they brew their own beer on-site. My wife and I enjoyed several beers and cocktails. The food was delicious; we ordered the mushroom burger, fish and chips, and minestrone soup. Everything was great, and I will definitely be back.
Eddie L — Google review
Star ratings. 1 bad. 2 below average. 3 average / neutral. 4 good. 5 excellent. Loved that street corn came as a side for the tacos, great flavor. I wish i saw this more often. The only thing with the food was the Mahi tacos had too much sauce and put down first instead of on top, which caused the tortilla to soak up the sauce and split, making it difficult to eat. Sat outside, which I'd assume is your busiest spot. Thus, you'd put your most experienced servers. Ours was not. Every server has an off day. My wife was a server for nearly 20 years. Ours seemed to be newer and had a hard time keeping up. He'd only visit one table at a time, then go back in vs. stopping at a couple at a time to maximize his efficiency. Most tables just need a quick item. Beer flights come with up to 7 pours on the holder, which is nice. Good beer, better than most "tourist breweries". Limited outdoor seating. Larger groups could sit inside.
Erik S — Google review
This is a pleasant brewpub and restaurant. They have outdoor seating for those perfect summer days and plenty of seating indoors. The burgers were good and the mahi mahi tacos were awesome. They have a great selection of their beers on tap, which were crisp and refreshing. The restaurant is a little pricey, but that’s life in South Lake Tahoe. There was plenty of parking when we stopped in for lunch.
Jamey M — Google review
I really want to write this place a five but I just can’t. The atmosphere is really cool and modern, but it’s just one of those places that the employees and owners are way more interested in talking to each other than you. I did dine on my own, at the bar. The menu was great. I was able to make the substitution to the Poké bowl…that being said it was more than $20 for a Poké bowl, which was a little bit high. I have just recently discovered how delicious they are and it’s one of my go to now, but this one was not very big for the price. The fish was really delicious and there were no issues with the flavor whatsoever. I think the thing that prevented it from being a five is that just outside the front doors, there is a sign that says that “menus do not magically appear. Go see the hostess” I don’t understand why businesses add these snarky little comments. When I went outside, I stood at the host stand for a little while, waiting for someone to come up. Basically the beginning of lunch started with a clever comment about seeing the host before you sit down then when you go to see the host, you have to wait because there’s nobody there. The person that did take my order was really nice though, and even though there was really no engagement through the meal, I would definitely go back and enjoy the good food and maybe try their happy hour.
Mandy H — Google review
Beer was good. The nachos tasted great, but for 25 bucks I was expecting more goodies. Beans can't be that expensive.
Pedro V — Google review
This was our first time here and we enjoyed it! They had wax sticks for the kids to play with instead of coloring and they really had fun with them. The service was great, very attentive staff. The food was delicious and they have good happy hour specials. We got the mahi tacos and mushroom burger. The kids got a cheeseburger and corn dog.
Steve B — Google review
Man I was so excited for the beer scene in Lake Tahoe, but it was a struggle. We hit 5-6 breweries during our trip and I found all the beer (IPA Drinker) to be just ok. To me there is a prevalent bitterness to all the beer in this area even the hazy and fruitier IPA's which I prefer. Cold Water broke the trend for me. I forget the name of the IPA I drank but it was the best one of our trip! Paired with our drinks we had the elote dip (corn dip for the gringos) and it was delicious. We sat outside on the patio to enjoy the killer weather. The only thing that would make this spot better is a lake view. To make up for not having one there is plenty of free parking. I'd add this to your brewery tour in Lake Tahoe.
Wes Z — Google review
Clean and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Service was great. Good beer options along with mixed drinks.Parking can get a little tight in the parking lot but decent enough.

Grill
Riva Grill On the Lake is a restaurant located at Ski Run Marina, offering American cuisine and rum drinks with stunning views of the lake. The interior is inspired by Riva boats, featuring mahogany decor. The restaurant's name and design are influenced by wooden Riva runabout boats found in Tahoe's waters. Guests can enjoy the famous Wet Woody cocktail, a frozen rum drink made with cranberry, orange, and pineapple juices.
Riva Grill is exactly what you’d expect—an unbeatable lakeside location with stunning Tahoe views. The food was average, nothing particularly memorable, but the extensive list of boat-themed tropical cocktails makes it a fun stop. Perfect for drinks and scenery, just don’t go expecting a standout dining experience.
Andrew W — Google review
I like the food and the vibe here. Perfect water views on the deck. Some of the food we got was very good 10/10, highly recommend the tuna poke and the fish tacos. Fish tacos come with perfectly seasoned and grilled fish. The pizzas we got the kids cheese and the Rivas pizza were both meh. I didn’t even wanna take leftovers home. The fish and chips were fine, your basic usual nothing wrong with it. The Thai chicken wrap was not good but what else do you except ordering fake Thai food at a non Thai restaurant. I did overall like this place
Shiva N — Google review
One of my favorite places to come eat and enjoy the view of the lake. Love the large bar area where you can just walk in 1st come 1st served and the fire place with live music occasionally throughout the year. I love coming for fish taco Fridays in the winter where they do a raffle every hour when you buy a drink or fish taco around 6-9ish. They post events on insta and online. I love their food and especially the deviled eggs, pomegranate ribs, soups, salads with salmon added, bacon burger, and salmon plates. I always bring anyone visiting me here for the ambience and service. Reservation recommended during peak season.
Sasha D — Google review
The poke bowl was absolutely incredible—I could eat two of them! Honestly, the best poke bowl I’ve ever had. The garlic bread was also amazing. Fish and fries weren’t really my favorite, but the burger was delicious and everything was super fresh. Definitely recommend!
Beyza S — Google review
Awesome atmosphere for any size group! Food was spectacular and very tasty! Attention to detail is a great bonus for this top notch restaurant! We had the zucchini and crab cakes and ribeye. It was all perfect after a sunset cruise!
Phil M — Google review
Very good spot with nice food. The price is good for the portion and ambience. There are heaters so you won't feel cold. The server kept checking on us frequently, refilling our soda and water 😃 I will come back!
Diana — Google review
I was genuinely looking forward to dining at Riva, given its strong reviews and reputation for stunning views. While the scenery certainly lived up to expectations, the food unfortunately did not. My friend and I ordered the coconut shrimp, halibut, and prime rib. Each dish was underwhelming and lacked depth of flavor. The coconut shrimp had seasoning only in the batter, leaving the shrimp itself bland. The halibut tasted as though it had been previously frozen and offered no detectable saffron flavor as described. The prime rib was overcooked, dry, and relied heavily on a salty au jus for any taste. The quality of the meat did not appear to match the standards expected at this price point—certainly not prime, and possibly not even choice grade. Regrettably, I won’t be returning. For the cost, I could enjoy a more flavorful meal from a fast casual restaurant while still taking in the beautiful views from one of Lake Tahoe’s many public beaches. I would strongly recommend the kitchen taste and assess each dish before service to ensure it meets the expectations set by the venue’s reputation.

Great food, great service, our server Teddy is so friendly and attentive, thumb up! We had two drinks, one appetizer, and one Pesto Margarita pizza. Sat by the fire, so cozy…

Artemis Lakefront Café is a charming Mediterranean restaurant that offers outdoor seating and an espresso bar. It's a great spot to enjoy beer, wine, and cocktails in a relaxed atmosphere. The café is known for its casual vibe and is perfect for various occasions, from a quick happy hour drink at the Boathouse on the Pier to a cozy romantic dinner at Cafe Fiore or Evans American Gourmet Cafe.
Beautiful cafe. Loved the lamb breakfast gyro with fruits on the side. Greek Breakfast is another tasty and filling option. Tried Turkish Coffee for the first time, fun experiment! Hazelnut latte was the right amount of sweet. Enjoyed the lake view.

There were a few places to choose from in the area but we went with Artemis Lakefront Cafe. We ordered the fish and chips, calamari, tofu wrap, and their house burger. Everything was delish. My favorite was the fish and chips. The seasoning on the fish was really good and it was super crispy. The ambiance is definitely breathtaking, lakefront view for sure. The weather was nice enough to sit outside. The service was ok. Our server was nice but it took home awhile to refill our water glass and to bring the bill. But I’d come back here again for their fish and chips.
Jemellee M — Google review
I want to start by saying the food at this restaurant was genuinely delicious — beautifully presented and full of flavor and waitress was great. The kitchen clearly takes pride in what they do, and for that, I give full credit. However, the overall experience was overshadowed by a very troubling incident. During our visit, another customer made a remark while standing before the outside fireplace in chilly outside area before and after eating. We brought it to Manager’s attention and stead of addressing the situation appropriately, the staff/manager remained passive and made comments that further encouraged bad atmosphere and the response lacked the empathy or seriousness the moment deserved. We will not be coming back and will not recommend this place.
Anju K — Google review
Despite the positive online reviews, my experience at your restaurant fell short of expectations. While we were promptly seated outdoors and initially attended to without delay, the service quickly deteriorated. We ordered the fish sandwich, breakfast omelette, and fish & chips. Though the food was decent, it hardly lived up to the hype. Once the meals were served, the attention to our table seemed to vanish entirely. We had to call the waiter multiple times - just to request water and coffee. It wasn’t a matter of being understaffed; the waiter was visibly engaged in casual conversations with other staff. One standout was a courteous staff member who checked in on guests to ensure a positive experience. Upon expressing our disappointment, she responded professionally and resolved the issue, which we appreciated. However, it’s worth noting that customers are required to pay at least $16 for parking before even walking through the door. For that added cost, such inattentive service is frankly unacceptable.
A S — Google review
Stopped here for lunch before our boat tour in Lake Tahoe. Cool lil spot on the lake. My wife had the wings, I had the chicken gyro and we split the ceasar salad. Note: the wings were in a buffalo sauce. Didn't really get that from the description. The service was pretty quick and the food was tasty. Traditional Mediterranean flavors. The staff was helpful. The views were great. They have an outside bar as well. Give it a try if you're near the lake.
Darryl L — Google review
Edward was great! We came on a busy Saturday mid morning. Tina pits and chicken pita were excellent. Location is great to the marina and the beach. Excellent place to people watch. Also a great place to wash away gambling blues. Great service. Great food. Great atmosphere.
Amandaintheqc — Google review
Artemis Lakefront Cafe delivered for my last lunch. My lamb gyro and fries were delicious. I like their special sauce for the fries. Also, save room for baklava because it was quite tasty. Thanks Maria for the great recommendations.
Jake H — Google review
Okay if you compare it with “American food”, not even in the same ballpark if you’re comparing it to Greek food 🇬🇷. One thing they do really good is seasoning their fries 🍟. Pleasant outdoor seating with the fireplace, but a buzzkiller if you’re asked to leave more than 1 hour before their (googlemaps) closingtime.

Sprouts Café, located in South Lake Tahoe, has been a go-to spot for health-conscious travelers since 1990. The café offers a variety of homemade soups, wraps, burritos, and smoothies made with the freshest and cleanest ingredients available. Their extensive juice and smoothie menu is perfect for fueling up before outdoor activities or balancing out indulgences. With many organic options and customizable choices like gluten-free or vegan, Sprouts Café caters to various dietary preferences.
Sprouts Café nails the art of simple, nourishing comfort food. The Tahoe Turkey is fresh and satisfying—hearty turkey piled high with crisp lettuce, ripe tomatoes, and creamy avocado on perfectly toasted bread. It’s clean, flavorful, and hits the spot. The Turkey Melt, takes it up a notch: warm, melty, and rich without being heavy, with golden grilled bread that adds the perfect crunch. Both sandwiches showcase Sprouts’ knack for pairing health-conscious ingredients with laid-back Tahoe soul. Don’t believe me? Just look at my photos.
Nilesh K — Google review
We were excited to try Sprouts as the reviews are so good! We were pretty disappointed, the tuna "burrito" was open faced and impossible to eat without a fork. The bottom of it was soggy, soaked in liquid from the rice, and it was mostly toppings, barely had any actual protein. Husband enjoyed his egg salad Sammy, said it was "4 stars ish". Great service, nice drink selection and an awesome looking smoothie menu.
Tasha S — Google review
We ordered the tuna melt - a little dry but delicious. I got the Tahoe turkey…with gluten free bread. The gf bread was delicious. The sprouts and ending about the sandwich was excellent. Highly recommended. Lots of options for juices and smoothies as well.

We came here for brunch! Great menu with good variety.. they also have plenty of parking. We ordered curry bowl and hueves eggs (I don’t recall the full names) but both meals were very full filling. They have lots of indoors and outdoors seating. Visit this cafe if you are in the area

I can see when Sprouts is so busy! Great fresh ingredients. I came for an açaí bowl and didn’t even get it instead seeing the breakfast sandwich with fresh oj/carrot juice as an option. It was so good!! Up next will be the cinnamon roll. Plenty of patio space.

Lovely little quick breakfast spot before a hike! Very healthy and the orange juice is fresh pressed.

Convenient location by the Tahoe State Line area. A healthy menu, and the food was good. We ate outside in the front. They take your order at the register, and bring you your food to your table.

Loved this place and its menu. MASSIVE salad; ate half at lunch and half at dinner. Excellent green juice. Cappuccino was huge, 16 oz and nothing cappuccino about it, was a latte but still good. Very nice fast service. Not a fan of the carpet dining room but liked everything else

Lucky Beaver Bar & Burger is a vibrant 24-hour sports hangout located in Stateline, offering a lively atmosphere for friends to unwind and indulge in delectable burgers and other tempting dishes. The extensive menu caters to meat enthusiasts with an array of steaks, hotdogs, sandwiches, and their signature item - burgers.
My first time visiting Lake Tahoe and from my hotel Bally’s I could smell how good the food at Lucky Beavers was cooking. It looks busy from the street because everybody walking by looking inside lol, but it’s a nice outside area with a fire pit. Beautiful place and the service was great. Our food and drinks were great, I’ll definitely be back to LB to try something else.

Cool burger joint and sports bar! The burgers were tasty and the service was amazing! Definitely a great place to stop by for a drink and some food if you're in the area. Parking is a bit hard in these areas because you have to park in the garage. Paid parking.
T T — Google review
Stopped in at Lucky Beaver in Tahoe on Friday around 4 for a late lunch and the place was already buzzing. We ordered the signature burgers and wow—honestly one of the best burgers I’ve had in a long time! Our server (pretty sure his name was Scott) was super friendly and attentive. He recommended the signature patty (a mix of 3 meats aged 50 days) and told us to get it medium—he was spot on. The burger was fresh, juicy, and packed with flavor. I got tater tots on the side and they were perfect—crispy and delicious. My husband wasn’t as into his fries, said they were a little too hard, so next time we’ll just ask for them not so well done. All in all, great spot, great vibe, and definitely a place we’ll be coming back to!
Annette M — Google review
Thank goodness this was open late. You have to be over 21 to sit inside. They do have patio seating with heaters. We started with the wings. They were good. My brother got the chili soup. I got the burger it was okay, I think I didn’t really like the bacon on it.
Dolores D — Google review
Don't let the name or "theme" throw you off as this is a fun bar place to grab a drink and some food. It does get busy so service can be slow, especially later in the night and/or on weekends. The food was good, but again can take a while to get out. Big food meni with a heavy focused on burgers (avoid the fries and get tots if you get a sandwich) Service is ok, and abit hot or miss depending on when you get there. Like every other place in a tourist town they also sell funny merch (hats, tees, etc)
Darryl F — Google review
Ordered food online for pickup. Wasn’t ready when we got there but we get it, it happens. So we waited but ended up waiting about 20-30 more minutes inside which is kind of crazy but whatever at least the food would be worth it right? NOT!!! First of all, the fries were terrible. They seemed old and stale and were only edible doused in ranch. The wings were okay but everything else on the sample platter was subpar. Second of all, we asked for the burger well done and as you can see it’s still mooing. Third of all, this food was pretty pricey for it to not even be good. I’ve never had food this bad before and I was so let down because the line was so long and it was so busy so I was expecting good food but was very wrong. The staff were all good people and it was a fun environment but you’re better off going to McDonald’s at that point. Save your time and money y’all!
Melanie C — Google review
The staff was super friendly. I think that's kind of hard to come across in California. The burger and tots were excellent. The wife enjoyed her breakfast except for the pan sausage. She wasn't a fan of that. It was a great stop to finish up our vacation.

Came here for a little date night magic and it didn’t disappoint. We rolled in late on a weekday, just minutes before closing, but the manager welcomed us with a smile and happily seated us anyway. Multiple servers checked in on us throughout the night, all incredibly kind and gracious despite being near the end of their shift. We ordered the chili and a California burger with a side of ranch, everything was delicious. We dined outside under the stars by the cozy fire pit. Total romantic vibes. We’ll definitely be back for round two.

There is a lovely outdoor seating area with umbrellas over each table to provide shade. The service was good and there were lots of menu options. I'm leaving this review because the adult grilled cheese (pictured) was absolutely amazing. I could eat that sandwich for lunch every day! If you like cheese, bacon, and avocado you need to try this sandwich!
Amanda P — Google review
The best place is South Lake Tahoe for the good old burger...Just delicious and awesome..They have quite a few varieties of burgers, sanwiches, hotdogs, salads. We kept coming back for the burgers for lunch and dinner and tried out them all during the length of our stay. The service is awesome with some gentle and spirited souls handling the service. Great place to enjoy your food in a comfy ambience.
Bhaskar B — Google review
We've been coming here for years, but I've never written a review on it. I think I usually end up eating a burger here and did the same this time. Never disappoints. Burger and fries are always good. I just had a standard burger, but my wife had the Caprese. Sounded a little odd to me, but she said the combination was awesome. Beer selection is fairly generic, but fine. But, if you want a whiskey, this place has a great selection, a full wall of them. And, they make a variety of good cocktails. Service is always good here, as well. Normally stop in here at least once every annual trip we make to Tahoe.
Dave H — Google review
We stopped by for lunch and were seated right away at a nice outdoor table. The host was very friendly, the weather was perfect, and they were setting up for live music, which added a great vibe. There are lots of food options on the menu! The service was just okay—efficient, but it felt a bit transactional/impersonal, lacking warmth and hospitality. I was especially disappointed with the sweet potato tots. Honestly, they were the main reason I came in—and they were not good. Completely undercooked, soft, and mushy instead of crispy. I also was expecting a lot more than the small amount of tots i was given for the price I paid. The Inferno Burger I ordered (with added blue cheese) was really solid though—nicely spicy, and the hot honey gave it a unique and delicious twist. Would definitely recommend this burger! Overall, the food had its high points, and the location was convenient, but between the overpriced menu, the lackluster service, and those awful tots, I probably wouldn’t come back next time I’m in Tahoe.
Vee — Google review
I wish I had more time here to try some of their different food options. The chicken strips, fries and burgers are really good! They have a nice happy hour - great deals on drinks including margaritas, Moscow mules and various appetizers. Lots of room inside, but a great patio for dining and enjoying a drink. Recommended!

California Burger Co. has a nice ambiance with bonfire in the evening if you sit outside. I enjoyed the blue cheese burger with sweet potato tots. Pretty expensive burger though but at least it comes with a side. About $65 without tip for 2 burgers with upgraded sides and a soda for 2 people. Come here for a casual date night.

The Hangar - Taproom & Bottle Shop, established in 2018 by a couple with ties to Tahoe and Santa Cruz, is a haven for beer enthusiasts. Boasting an array of local brews and sought-after selections from distant places, such as Humble Sea, Great Notion, and Alvarado Street, this spot offers 30 taps featuring a diverse range of ales and lagers.
Exceptionally friendly staff, incredibly varied and robust selection of beers. We got there 20 minutes before closing on Memorial Day Monday, and while we were expecting to get turned away, but he poured us a beer and chatted while cleaning up! Great experience.

We love the Hangar. They have a great new music series this place is really cool! Drum outdoor vibes, food trucks and tasty beverages.

Loved it here so much I stopped by 2 days in a row while in Tahoe. Fantastic beer selection, great staff and delicious food trucks. If you're a craft beer fan and love a good vibe then this is a must stop.

I like this place, we were looking for woodfire pizza and Get Rad Pizza didn't disappoint. Their wings were perfectly cooked and charred, the best. We also tried the fries at the Mac and Cheese spot and they were so good, fluffy and perfectly salted. The bathrooms were clean and pretty spacious, parking wasn't an issue. Overall a pretty great place to enjoy with family friends and even pets.
Ariane S — Google review
One of the most chill, cozy outside bars we've been to. Drinks are top notch. The outdoor areas are spacious and relaxing with a great view of the mountain valley right across. They have a stage for live music and shows outside under the tall trees and there were food trucks there when we went. The food was good but a tad bit more than overpriced for what you get, especially the pizza.
Alex — Google review
We came for the music. It's basically a beer garden with a stage. They had 3 food trucks to choose from and a tap room with an overwhelming list of beer to choose from. I think they also have hard kombucha. The show we saw was excellent. It did get a bit cold since it's October and it was raining of and on and there is really no shelter. Just prepare for the weather. There are bathrooms inside the taproom. Also a fire pit area. Overall this was a great experience and I would definitely come again. There is a small parking area near the road but more parking in the back. We didn't have any trouble finding a spot.
Missy H — Google review
There for a live show, and it was a great place to enjoy a live concert with plenty of outdoor space and seating under the trees. Staff are awesome. Helping in finding parking on-site and if you do go, go early to get parking on-site it's a small lot, but staff make it work if you're there early enough. Plenty to drink and food trucks. Pizza is very good. Beers.. so many choices. Definitely recommend this place.

Located near the Heavenly ski area, Driftwood Cafe is a popular family-friendly eatery offering a diverse menu for breakfast and lunch. The cafe serves locally roasted coffee, homemade soups, and generous portions of homestyle breakfast items such as buttermilk pancakes, waffles, biscuits and gravy, eggs benedict, Huevos Rancheros, Breakfast Burritos and Sandwiches.
I enjoyed this place. Not too long of await for breakfast on a busy holiday weekend. Plenty of seating indoor and out. Rosaria, our waitress was nice. Got the veggie burrito no eggs and French toast full stack with blueberries. Both were filing and tasty. Nice higher end diner style place.

Stopped by for lunch. One of the more affordable options in the area. The club sandwich was tasty and filling and I liked their options for choice of side. Outdoor area was dog friendly and the wait staff brought over water for the doggy too. Want to come back and try the breakfast options next time

Great vibe. Classic American breakfast with a lot of style. Simple, affordable and with overall good food. I loved the mocha and eggs Benedict combo. My wife didn’t like French toast that much, more like dry bread and just a bit with sugar. Not the best. But overall, great experience and strongly recommend the eggs Benedict. Parking lot across the street. We arrived relatively early on a Sunday (8am), no waiting time. Good service.
Ruam P — Google review
Today myself and my family visited Driftwood Cafe after hearing so many great recommendations, and overall, it was a good experience worth trying out. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the staff were friendly, even during a busy brunch rush. My wife and kids ordered the steak and eggs, and the steak was cooked beautifully and seasoned just right. The eggs were fluffy and tasty. I ordered the French toast, which was thick, soft, and had just the right amount of sweetness without being overly rich. I were especially curious about a the meal called “Ugly Potatoes,” since everyone seems to rave about them. Unfortunately, they were a bit of a letdown for me — they tasted slightly bland and could have used more seasoning or some sort of sauce to bring them to life. The biggest issue was the wait time. We ended up waiting nearly 45 minutes for our food, which felt extremely long, especially for brunch. However, once everything arrived, the flavors (aside from the potatoes) were satisfying enough that we still left happy. Despite the minor hiccups, I’d still highly recommend coming here, especially if you’re craving a solid brunch spot with delicious steak and eggs or indulgent French toast. Just make sure you’re prepared for a bit of a wait! Almost forgot loved the Dirty Chai

Had a fantastic breakfast at Driftwood Cafe in South Lake Tahoe! The food was absolutely delicious, and you can really taste the freshness of the ingredients in every bite. While the prices are a bit on the higher side, the quality of the food and the friendly, efficient service made it worth it. The cozy atmosphere and mountain-town charm added to the overall great experience. If you're looking for a solid breakfast spot in South Lake Tahoe, Driftwood Cafe is definitely worth a visit!
Devanshu P — Google review
We visited Driftwood Cafe in mid-late July and had breakfast on a weekday morning. It was not crowded. The 3-egg omelet was great, the waffle with bacon was delicious, coffee was great. Service was great, atmosphere was nice. Price was on the high side but expected given the tourist location. I definitely recommend having breakfast here if you're vacationing in Lake Tahoe.
W N — Google review
I visited this brunch spot in the morning. They offer both classic American breakfast dishes and some Mexican-inspired options, which I really liked. Overall, it was a good experience, but I ordered the biscuit and gravy, and unfortunately both biscuits had completely burnt bottoms. I could only eat the fluffy tops, the rest was not edible. On the bright side, the service was excellent—very quick and friendly even though the place was busy at peak time. I understand mistakes can happen when it’s crowded, but two big burnt biscuits were hard to tolerate. Still, I think the food has great potential because the flavors were good, and if not burnt, this dish would have been delicious. I’ll give it 3 stars. I’d still recommend the restaurant, just hoping my experience was a one-off.
FENGYAN Z — Google review
The restaurant is small and often very busy. I advise to make a reservation in advance. Otherwise, expect to wait over 30 minutes. The portions are large, enough for one person or even to share. The food tasted alright and the hot chocolate was delicious.

Azul-Latin Kitchen is a vibrant restaurant located in the heart of South Lake Tahoe's downtown area. The eatery offers Latin American cuisine with a focus on using locally sourced, organic ingredients. Known for its top-notch margaritas and flavorful tacos, Azul-Latin Kitchen provides a festive dining experience and features a patio for guests to enjoy. The culinary team draws inspiration from their extensive travel experiences and years of working in restaurants to create a fresh take on Latin American food.
Even though it was expensive, we liked the Mexican restaurant. It was convenient from the hotel, the shops, and from the main road. The staff were very patient and polite with the quick service and good recommendations. I liked the cod they had on the fish taco and the pork on the carnitas taco. Good side and nice drink as well. The Tres Leches Cake slice was creamy and delicious as well. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating with some live music on as well. Worth a stop for Mexican food in the southern Tahoe City town!

We stopped in for lunch and tried out their soft tacos. I had the panko cod fish taco and it was really good. I also had the cucumber salad, which had a nice flavor with onions and radishes. My only complaint would be that you had to pay for salsa and chips. I really enjoyed their red salsa, but the chips were thin and not great. They have lots of tables indoors, but their patio area is a great place to eat and enjoy a margarita.
Scott A — Google review
We enjoyed our meal at Azul. We decided to take a table outside since there was live music and the weather was great. Our waiter didn’t seem to have his head in the game and overall our service seemed a bit slow. I was impressed, however, with how quickly our food came out after we ordered. The food was hot and fresh. I had the classic enchilada skillet and it was very good. Overall we had a good experience at Azul and recommend you giving it a shot if you’re hungry for Latin cuisine.
Mark M — Google review
Ate 10/31, the service was quick, the food was good; the only problem I had was the prices. They don’t give free chips and salsa like other restaurants, their chips and salsa is an appetizer for $4.75. I ordered a Moscow Mule and they charged me $12 for a shot of Tito’s and then charged me $3 “as a Moscow Mule,” same process goes for everybody else’s drinks. Definitely not worth $177 for four guests before tax.

Everything on the menu looked good. I choose the 3 crispy tacos, one of each meat. Soooooo delicious! I will be back for sure. Everyone was so friendly. Great place. We ate inside but the outside was nice also with a fireplace and live music. 5 stars.

We ordered the queso fundido, the super burrito with oven-roasted chicken, the Enchiladas Clásico skillet with salted shrimp, and a cheese quesadilla. Everything was delicious and full of flavor! The restaurant was very busy and doesn’t take reservations, but the food and lively atmosphere made the wait worthwhile.
Prinal P — Google review
This was a fine "latin" restaurant. I say Latin that way cause I don't know if this is a traditional Mexican restaurant for a few reasons. Their pico has pineapples in it, and their corn tortillas and refried beans were different. Not bad different, but not traditional Mexican. With that said, we shared chips and salsa. I had a carnitas taco and a chicken chipotle taco a la carte, and they were both tasty and good sized. Kids had some quesadillas and they were pretty basic. The service was a little lacking though. Our server spent much of his time flirting with the other waitresses, rather than attending to us. Not trying to nitpick, but once I saw what was going on I just had to watch this guy make his rounds shmoozing with the ladies. Overall, it was fine. It was a little pricey for the food and service. Won't likely go back as the food was average and the service was below average, and there are sooo many food options in the South Lake Tahoe area

This is a great restaurant with a wonderful atmosphere and staff! We came here because of the variety of vegan options and were not disappointed. The food was delicious and we had plenty of options. I was also presently surprised that their yellow curry was vegan. Highly recommend!

We went there for dinner and ordered the My Thai Hot Wings, Pineapple Fried Rice, My Thai Sizzling, and Pad Thai. The food was pretty good, not amazing but decent, about what you would expect from a typical Thai restaurant. Since there aren’t many dining options around the lake, it’s a nice spot to go when you’re craving Asian food.

If I could give this place 10 stars, I absolutely would! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was elegant, warm, and beautifully designed—such a gorgeous setting to enjoy an unforgettable meal. I ordered the crab pad thai, the healthy roll, and the mango cake. Every single bite was pure perfection—so fresh, flavorful, and made with such care. The crab pad thai was rich and perfectly balanced, the healthy roll was light yet packed with deliciousness, and the mango cake was the sweetest, dreamiest finish to the meal. The service was excellent—attentive, friendly, and professional. You can feel the love and pride that goes into both the food and the experience here. This is hands down one of the best Thai restaurants I’ve ever been to. And honestly, anyone who gives them less than five stars must not know what they’re talking about. Do yourself a favor and come experience this gem—it’s a true 10-star place!

Cozy Restaurant with delicious food! The Avacado Rolls were a delight and really filling. Tom Yum soup was good and opens up your palette. The hungover noodles was delicious but with a lot of meat, which worked perfectly for me. Next time in Tahoe, will come back for sure!

I had a great experience at this Thai restaurant yesterday! The flavors are slightly on the sweeter side, which really suits my taste. The portion sizes are huge and very generous. The Tom Yum soup was especially delicious — after getting caught in the rain and taking a cruise, it instantly warmed me up. The crab fried rice was tasty, and my husband’s pork shoulder was not only flavorful but also came in a very large portion. Overall, highly recommended if you don’t mind (or even enjoy) a slightly sweeter Thai flavor profile!

11:30 a.m. Monday: fast service, quickly served. My usual Thai dish was adequate, but not stellar for the high cost and small portion. Some ingredients were too fibrous, and flavor was less than expected. Service and ambience were very good. This restaurant clearly aspires to be high-end. I was in and out in less than 30 minutes.

What an amazing dining experience we had at Gordon Ramsay‘s Health’s kitchen! We started our dinner with the lobster risotto, which was out of this world then I ordered their signature beef Wellington dish, which was just too good to be true! Delicious and amazing Beef Wellington. Excellent With this, we had a couple of old fashions, which were perfect! Highly recommended ! Free parking with validation at the casino too! Great service!

What an amazing experience at Hell's Kitchen and it was my first time. We started with the Grilled Octopus and it was cooked perfectly and tasty, but the beans started to form a skin and might have needed a little more seasoning and oil. The Cesar Salad was good and executed well. The star of dinner was the Beef Wellington and it was so tender and flavorful. Highly recommended just to get this! Service was great and the environment was nice. I would definitely return for the one dish! 🤤
T T — Google review
Typically we aren't huge fans of Gordon Ramsay restaurant concepts, but every visit to a Hell's Kitchen (both Las Vegas and now Lake Tahoe) have been an absolute delight. The Hell's Kitchen is located inside the Caesar's Republic casino, but its entrance is right off the main street entrance to the casino. I think every single person should order the Wagyu Meatballs appetizer. I am still daydreaming about the polenta croutons. My husband and I split two entrees: the Hell's Kitchen classic Beef Wellington and the Jidori Chicken Scallopini which were both excellent. My only critique is that the Wellington dish needed more of that incredible red wine demi-glace. When we initially made our reservation, we put down that we were celebrating our anniversary (woohoo 4 years!) so when we opted out of dessert (because we were full of the delicious food) they brought us a mini version of the Sticky Toffee Pudding dessert with a little white chocolate square that said Congratulations and a candle. It was a really sweet gesture and a nice touch that made us feel appreciated. It also convinced me that I should never skip the Sticky Toffee Pudding because it was an incredible dessert. The cookie butter ice cream really pulls the whole thing together into a perfect bite.

3rd time visiting hells kitchen, even tho every time the price and taste changes, its still good. Lobster risotto was amazing and worth the money. Rack of lamb was good but way overpriced. Birthday toffee was amazing and melted in mouth. Server Shane or Shawn, can't remember his name but he was informative and did his job well. Can't wait to go again during my next trip.

Had such a wonderful dining experience here. As a self described foodie and home cook, and long time show watcher the staff didnt disappoint from the chefs to the waiters. It took a minute for food to get there but once it did it gave an experience that is seldomly felt. The deer in the headlights mocktail is incredible. So is the chocolate orange triffle. The beef wellington was even better than described and the rack of lamb was amazing. I would gladly come again after my bank account recovers was worth every bite. Our waitress was really awesome an attentive and anticipated our needs. If you dont get an appetizer it will take a minute for food to get there but good food takes time great food might take a bit longer.

This is our 2nd time going to this location and both times it has been phenomenal from the food to the service. We didn't have a reservation this time, but were able to get seated right away when they opened for a group of 6. There was times where service was a little slow, but it did not bother us since everyone had great customer service. Our group shared the food we all ordered among each other and of course we all had different opinions on the top dish. For dessert, everyone agreed that the sticky Toffee was the best. For the cocktails, the sneakytini was the bigger hit. We all agreed that this was worth the wait and not eating all day lol. I would recommend giving this a try.
Mayra D — Google review
From start to finish, the food, service, and atmosphere were top-tier. Every dish came out perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The staff was dialed in — professional, fast, and friendly. Definitely lives up to the hype. If you get the chance, go. Worth every penny.
Nicholas O — Google review
Overall, our Friday evening at Hell's Kitchen Tahoe was a mixed experience. While the restaurant's signature dishes like the Beef Wellington and sticky toffee pudding were exceptional, the fish dish was a low point and didn't meet expectations. Given the high price point, one expects a consistently polished and memorable culinary experience from start to finish. The cocktails and early arrival made for a pleasant, quiet start, but improvements are needed in the execution of dishes beyond the restaurant's most famous offerings

I've been coming to off the hook for about 15 years now and I don't know why I haven't written a review sooner. I not longer live in town, but still eat here several times a year because it's my favorite sushi hands down. The addition of Macadamia nuts and herbs to the rolls adds something unique that I'm now always looking for when I visit other sushi restaurants. It can be a little busy during Happy Hour, but it's worth the wait!

My partner and I showed up right at the opening and there were a few tables lined up via reservations on Sunday night. The teapot is impossible not to spill and I encourage the management to replace them if possible. That aside, my partner had a nut allergy so with the exception at the end of the night, we tried to avoid the multiple dishes that probably make this sushi unique to the other spots in South Tahoe. Altogether we had The Joker, Funky Roll Medina, and Bodhi rolls in our first round of eating. These rolls had 8 maki per order and were no frills. At risk of angering the order, I thought they were kinda samish. My partner thought that Funky Roll Medina's spicy sauce was surprisingly vinegary but they drink cholula daily. Still, vegans should rejoice as the Bodhi is a successful roll that allows you to eat veggies and tofu while looking relatively normal. The menu really shined when I got one more roll afterwards. The High Roller shows how the Macadamia nuts support the dish in both texture and flavor. It's a shame we couldn't order more of these types (of which there are 10 different rolls that use macadamia) but I'll refrain from kissing my partner for a few hours the next time I'm here.

The Bistro Edgewood at Lake Tahoe offers a sophisticated dining experience with attentive service and delectable meals. Despite its casual-sounding starters like bistro fries and curds, the substantial entrees such as juicy pork chops, grilled salmon, and Tomahawk steak for two are not to be missed. The restaurant is known for its phenomenal food and service that match the high standards of Edgewood.
I went here for brunch on my bachelorette and it was absolutely incredible. They were going to seat us inside and we asked for outdoor seating, which they said they had but it would be “cramped.” Cut to us sitting at the most spacious and large round table that easily sat all 9 of us. That immediately let me know I was in for a luxurious experience with top tier service! Most of us on the trip were from New York so as my friend put it, it was Tahoe cramped not New York cramped. Food was incredible, fresh juice was divine, views were out of this world. Our server Jenn was so sweet and accommodating and even gave me wedding day advice! I got the eggs benny with lump crab, which was really good, and we all shared the pancakes and French toast. The French toast was incredible, highly recommend!

We went for the Fourth of July prix fixe meal and fireworks ($250 pp). The atmosphere and service were phenomenal. The entire evening felt very welcoming and family friendly. For the prix fixe meal, they had a good variety of food items. For the price, I feel like a beverage probably should have been included as I have gone to other nice resorts with similar concepts and either spent less or had more. So, just a thought. We loved the wagyu slides, wedge salad and surf & turf. The cocktails were also great. Dessert was subpar as was the chowder and oysters. So, for the price there is some room for improvement but overall enjoyable. I’d honestly just pay the $75pp to see the fireworks and then get cocktails separately.

The Bistro at Edgewood offers a beautifully designed, upscale dining space with stunning views of Lake Tahoe. The vibe is elegant yet comfortable, making it a great choice for a relaxing lunch or dinner. The food was excellent- However, the service felt scattered and inconsistent, which took away from the otherwise premium experience. Unless you’re a “VIP”, don’t dare ask for outdoor seating, which was a bit disappointing. That said, the overall atmosphere and food quality make The Bistro worth visiting, especially if you want to enjoy a well-crafted meal in a gorgeous lakeside setting.

A perfect place to enjoy both the flavors and the views of Tahoe.

We had a lovely brunch at The Bistro Edgewood. The atmosphere is warm, elegant, and relaxing, with beautiful views and a stylish interior that perfectly matches the lakeside setting. The service was friendly and attentive throughout our meal. We tried several dishes — the avocado toast with poached eggs, steak and eggs, chicken & waffles, shrimp and beet salad, and French onion soup. Everything was beautifully plated and fresh. The avocado toast and poached eggs were flavorful and well-seasoned, while the steak was tender and cooked just right. The chicken & waffles were crispy and satisfying, with a nice balance of sweet and savory. The French onion soup was rich and comforting, topped with a delicious layer of melted cheese. Overall, the food quality was excellent, though a few dishes could use a bit more seasoning for a stronger flavor. Prices are on the higher side, but the quality, service, and ambiance make it worth it for a relaxing brunch experience at Lake Tahoe. Would definitely recommend for a cozy and scenic brunch spot!

Mother’s Day at Edgewood Bistro: A Local’s Take As locals, we love heading up to Edgewood for special occasions, and this Mother’s Day was no exception. We chose Edgewood Bistro for dinner, and overall, it delivered a memorable evening—marked by solid service, exceptional food, and one unforgettable dessert. Service-wise, things started a bit slow. We waited a little longer than expected to be greeted at our table, which didn’t set the smoothest tone. That said, our main server, Matt, did a fantastic job throughout the evening—attentive, personable, and professional. His trainee, while polite, seemed a bit nervous and unfamiliar with the menu, which made a few moments feel slightly awkward. Still, the effort was there, and it didn’t detract too much from the experience. The food, though, was the real star. We sampled the bone marrow filet mignon, short rib, and salmon—each dish beautifully plated and rich with flavor. The steak did come undercooked, but to their credit, the team acknowledged it and made a genuine effort to make it right, which we appreciated. But the highlight of the evening? Hands down, the Edgewood Apple Pie. It was so good, we spent the entire drive home talking about how to recreate it ourselves—layer by layer, crumble by crumble. As the photo shows, we didn’t leave a single crumb behind. It was that good.

Nestled in the charming South Lake Tahoe, California, Heidi's Pancake House is a delightful breakfast and lunch destination that has been winning hearts since 1964. This cozy eatery, characterized by its bright yellow Swiss chalet exterior, offers an inviting atmosphere perfect for starting your day. Guests can indulge in a variety of delicious pancakes—think blueberry, chocolate chip, and banana—as well as hearty four-egg omelets and savory skillets.
Service staff was very friendly and helpful. Nice ambience. Food was really good. You have to try their pancake!!Just enough fluffiness. Omelette was really good and their sourdough bread is just wow. One of the few places that I tipped 20% because it’s so worth it. And the place offer a slight discount if you pay in cash instead of cards.

Really disappointed. I was really looking forward to eating here. This place looks like it would be epic from the street the decoration and decor inside and the old charm makes it very desirable. Unfortunately, like men have written here. The food is really not good at all. The service was very subpar. I had eggs Benedict and ordered the side pancake, which you think would be bigger than 4“ round. I asked the server because I was looking over at the table next to me that had pancakes that were much bigger. The server took the plate with the small pancake off the table and I thought he would just bring a normal size pancake keep in mind four dollars for one pancake the manager comes back over with the pancake and instead of just saying no problem let me get you a bigger pancake. He asked if I wanted to keep it or take it off the bill. Defending the pancake that it’s supposed to be small. Very odd so either way I took it off the bill sure it cost less than $.30 to make a bigger pancake. Either way the eggs Benedict was subpar. The hashbrowns were full of oil and I didn’t even eat them. They did not taste good. My wife got the breakfast combo that came with biscuits and gravy. The biscuits and gravy was OK at best a slice of ham and some scrambled eggs. And that was $21. The food here is definitely not worth it or the price that it cost. The quality is very low and the prices are very high. They really need to rethink how they serve people and treat people.

Hey there my friends! Yesterday on our 6th day at Tahoe we decided to try Heidi’s pancakes house, on the recommendation from the great gentlemen who works the small store at the Hilton Resort. I will say we got the jackpot here! Angelica was out waitress, twice because we ended up going 2 days in a row. (Today too!) I ordered the delicious cheddar and bacon omelette and was able to get pancakes instead of hash browns. Let me tell you the omelette and pancakes are both awesome and delicious. The pancakes were an excellent size too!!! We also ordered waffles which looked and tasted great. Their biscuits and gravy were excellent as well. Everything was great and Angelica was amazing with her personality and service! This place is a must!!!

A nice breakfast/brunch place with a lot of character! Good, big portion sizes. If you’re skeptical about finishing a big plate on your own, it might be good to order some things to split between people if you’re with friends. I really enjoyed the veggie omelette with baked potatoes! I was a bit disappointed in the stars & stripes waffle because we couldn’t get fresh berries on it- there was only berry compote/syrup that could be poured on top. I went with a big group of friends and everyone was satisfied with their meal. Heads up- there’ll likely be a wait time (especially if you go around brunch/lunch on a weekend) and you need everyone in your party present to get seated.

A Breakfast must they delivered what they offer the best in town the food is plentiful. I ordered the Denver omelet which has 4 eggs and large pieces of ham and bell peppers and onions. So delicious also the skillets, eggs Benedict all that I saw looks amazing. We also ordered pancakes which were melt in your mouth watering. This can be a little wait but is hands down worth everything. 😎👍👍

ONLY reason it is not 5 stars is that it is pretty pricey for a breakfast spot, in compare to Red Hut Caseys Driftwood etc., but the food and service was impeccable! Every dish was tasty, all was impeccably made, and coffee refills were fast! The prices were a bit of pain.
Tony M — Google review
I last visited a few years ago and the bacon pancakes had always been my go-to. Maybe it was a bad day for the cooks, because the bacon pancakes were pretty disappointing. Instead of being mixed into the batter, the bacon was bits concentrated almost entirely in the center of one side of each pancake. The pancakes themselves tasted like water pancakes from a store. The butter was their saving grace. It kills me to say I've had better pancakes at Denny's. The table was also shakey. Heidi's needs a bit of TLC inside and out. Joey was really cool though. Thanks Joey!

Nestled in a chic and cozy space at The Landing Lake Tahoe Resort and Spa, Jimmy's Restaurant offers an upscale dining experience with a focus on Californian cuisine. The restaurant prides itself on using locally sourced ingredients to create regionally inspired specials, complemented by an award-winning wine selection and cocktail menu.
Spontaneous day trip to South Lake Tahoe and found great place to eat. Amazing view of the lake even on a snow day. The food was delicious! Kids plates of macaroni and cheese, sourdough mac and cheese with fries did not last long on the plates. The rabbit leg was delicious, took me back to when I last had it (6 years old then). 10/10 recommend!

I stayed for 4 nights at the Landing, had a great time overall. I ate a Jimmy's everyday sometimes a couple times a day and really enjoyed the food. It's a combo of "California" type food, mediterranean and featured some game meats like venison and rabbit. I stuck with the seafood for the most part and enjoyed every meal there especially the scallop appetizer, perfectly cooked and presented. Same goes for the crab cakes. If you are in Tahoe, the location is great, right on the water with fantastic views, highly recommended.

Best Chef, every bite is like a trip back in time. There's no good rating because each plate is an experience. 👊 I can't believe they love me so much they let me put a soft boiled egg on their breakfast salmon salad... and eat it like it's the best thing ever made. My photos are just a sample 🔥 #thisisasliceofparadise

It is a very nice place to have lakeside dining. The happy hour was excellent. They have great wings and wine. The dinner highlight is the pull apart bread. The breakfast is terrible and processed food. Overall the it is pricy for the quality of food, but you are paying for the view. The service was ok, nothing to rave about.

We’ve been on the road for three weeks before we arrived to Tahoe and tried Jimmy’s. It was hands down the best food we’ve hand in the US thus far and I’m sure it will be hard to top. Just wonderful - coconut and carrot soup was balanced out perfectly, bolognese and short rib were incredible, my mouth waters days after and the desserts were also just delicious. Would recommend to anyone looking for great food!

Dinner party of three Score range 1-10 Filet Mignon topped with oyster mushroom: Overall score 4. Tough to cut, not a tender piece of meat at all. Slightly overcooked. Side of asparagus. Very minimal and basic. Maine Lobster Pappardelle: Overall score 6. Creamy Calabrian pasta dish with decent amount of lobster, wild mushrooms and roasted tomatoes, topped with parmesan cheese. Could have had a bit more bite to the sauce, but overall was good. Chilean sea bass: Overall score 6 The sea bass was a perfect portion size after consuming the appetizers, it was well balanced so it wasn’t too heavy, the fish was so buttery it melts in your mouth, however could have had a little bit more flavor on the fish as well as the beurre blanc sauce that came with it. It could have included more greens on the plate, there were diced snap peas but the rest of the veggies were potatoes, it would have been more balanced if the greens and carbs went hand in hand. other than that, no complaints.

It’s romantic place. But we have 2 under 2 toddlers so we just wanted the food asap. But maybe today too many people so it’s a little bit slow. And kids fries are too salty.

Evan's American Gourmet Café is a charming and intimate restaurant located in South Lake Tahoe, housed in a historic cabin. The restaurant offers a high-end dining experience with excellent service and world-class cuisine. The menu features creative New American plates, including seafood specials like pan-seared day boat scallops and meat dishes such as rack of lamb marinated with rosemary and garlic. The superb wine list complements the flavorful dishes perfectly.
This hidden gem will not disappoint ! Had the pizza appetizer with an explosion of flavors and the Halibut special was mind blowing! The banana bread pudding and blackberry crème brûlée was like no other I have ever had. Not to mention the service with a huge smile and great knowledge of their specialties was right on point. We will definitely return,

Evan's came with a great recommendation, and it didn't disappoint. Everyone was welcoming and attentive. My wife and I split the heirloom and watermelon salad, which was very nice. My entree was a homemade saffron fettuccine with seared scallops in a white vodka sauce. It was a great choice and perfectly prepared. The dining room is small, so you'll definitely need a reservation ahead of time. I'm visiting from out of town, so I won't be back anytime soon; but for the locals, you have a gem. Hope they appreciate it.

What a divine meal! I'm not local, but spent the weekend in Tahoe visiting friends and they said we absolutely had to go to Evan's because it was the best meal around....and boy was that true! Cute, cozy atmosphere with just a handful of tables and really personalized service. The food was out of this world - the goat cheese hummus millefeuille, the savory cheesecake ( I mean....WHAT!?), asparagus soup - all of it was phenomenal. Absolutely worth the splurge - a meal to remember!!

If you are looking for a very intimate dining experience with a loved one this place is perfect. There’s probably about 10 tables in the whole place so your server will be very attentive. The food is definitely a culinary adventure. Imaginative, creative and absolutely delicious.

The women who were serving us this night were certainly ageist. My girlfriends and I came in for a 7:30 reservation. We were seated promptly at 7:30 but did not get our drinks until 8:15, and didn’t get our food until after 9pm. Not sure if they were rude and inattentive because they thought younger folks wouldn’t tip well but there was certainly a noticeable difference in how we were treated. People seated after us got drinks, food, spiels about the specials. Meanwhile we sat and waited for our food for over an hour. A few things I want to mention in particular. (1) they sat three of us at a table for four. I sat in a seat with the back to the hostess table and the hostess/waitress very rudely said “by the way you probably shouldn’t sit there.” Okay well then if that’s the case why is there a chair for me to sit on…? (2) I ordered the lamb and they were out. Which is fine but also maybe if they hadn’t waited over an hour to take our food order maybe I could’ve gotten the dish I actually wanted (3) the service was laughably bad and they acknowledged multiple times how they neglected us yet failed to rectify their behavior. For management or owners reading this: I’m referring to the two waitresses/hostesses that are middle aged white women. One was blonde the other a red head. Overall bad dining experience, considering the prices it was not worth it at all. Won’t be returning. By the way to the two extremely rude hostesses: we left you a good tip, hope you appreciate it and learn not to treat younger people with an attitude.

This is always a special place! This time I was with another woman so we had the spinach salad, the appetizer sized pasta special (yum!) and shared one of the fantastic desserts. A bottle of wine, too, of course! The menu is wonderful so it is hard to pick which item to get but we both knew a dessert was a must here so we ordered accordingly. The staff is friendly and helpful. There isn’t a lake view but it is a charming place and a special one.

Boathouse on the Pier is a waterside bar and grill located at the Tahoe Beach Retreat hotel in South Lake Tahoe. It offers traditional American cuisine with panoramic views of Lake Tahoe, making it a prime spot to watch the sunset. The restaurant's expansive pier extends over the turquoise water, providing an unforgettable dining experience with unobstructed views of the lake and surrounding mountains.
The Boat House is truly a spectacular restaurant. The pasta they serve here is simply exceptional—every bite is a delight. Pairing it with a glass of wine while enjoying the breathtaking lake view creates an unforgettable experience. Dining here feels like floating on the water, surrounded by mountains and immersed in a mesmerizing atmosphere. The combination of stunning scenery, exquisite food, and outstanding service makes this place absolutely remarkable. A special mention to our server, Ally—she was incredibly kind and attentive, making our experience even more enjoyable. Her warm and friendly service amplified the magic of this place. We are on vacation from Florida, but without a doubt, we will be back. This place is a hidden gem that should not be missed!

The food and appetizers are OK, the service is terrible. I arrived with a reservation for my husband's birthday and I had the worst experience. My reservation was at 8:30, I had to wait an hour to be seated, no one tells you to wait a moment or anything, no one looks at you, they ignore you. We ordered food and after an hour and half they brought it to me. We had no plates to eat on, no fork or knife, we had to eat with our hands. Do you think that's possible? I do not recommend this place at all. Bad service, my first time at this place and horrible treatment and experience. If you have plans to go there, cancel it because you are going to waste your time and the prices are not affordable. 2 people serving 8 tables. The food was unsalted and tasteless. The pasta was very bad.

The food was delicious and our server Jake was fantastic. We ate salad then sea bass with asparagus and mushroom risotto for main dish then coconut sorbet. It was all excellent and delicious. There was a large group of us and we had a reservation for 7.30pm which was perfect for a beautiful sunset. The restaurant was extremely busy and they seemed a bit short staffed so it took some time, although it was worth the wait! Our server Jake went over and above to make sure we had a really great evening and felt supported. Perfect setting with the sunset and lake views. Thank you!

Great food and amazing scenery. Getting a reservation is a bit of a struggle though. I called them the day prior to make a reservation for two. I was told they don't do that over the phone, but if we showed up by 530pm, we'd be fine to walk in and get a table. So we did, and we turned away. Apparently the only way two people get secure a table for dinner in advance is to do it in person the day prior which was a little frustrating. Once we actually got to eat there though, it was very good.

Dined here for dinner and also lunch. Ryan was an amazing server, very attentive and fun. Recommend drinks which were delicious! For anyone not wanting an alcoholic drink, he makes the best Shirley Temple! Food was also amazing.

FiRE + iCE Interactive Grill & Bar in Heavenly Village offers a unique dining experience where patrons can create their own meals from a variety of Latin, Italian, and Asian-inspired options. The restaurant features an all-you-can-eat buffet-style bar with raw veggies, meats, pastas, and proteins for diners to choose from. After filling a bowl with their desired ingredients, guests can craft the perfect sauce from a selection of flavors on display.
This restaurant is in the hotel we were staying in, and we love Mongolian BBQ, so we had to try it. Since there were only four of us, they only accept a reservation before 5:30 PM, so we made it at that time. When we arrived, we were seated immediately, the place has a positive vibe. Our waiter Matt (Matthew) brought us water and introduced himself, then he proceeded to show us around the restaurant and the different stations. He was professional and very friendly; I asked for steamed rice and he brought me some. The food selection is huge, the salad bar, the fresh vegetables, the meats and seafood, and the sauces. The selection was impressive, and they were continuously replenishing it. The cooking show was fun. The chefs had great energies and were entertaining. We enjoyed dinner and it was a great experience.

We loved this restaurant. The food is very fresh. They have all kinds of meat: beef, chicken, sausage, fish, mussels, calamari. So many sauces to choose from. Service is fast. Everyone is very nice and professional. Definitely coming back!
Maria M — Google review
Highly recommend that all you can eat grill. There is a huge selection of starches salads, vegetable topping sauces, meats and fish. They grill it i front of you. You take it to your table. The weight staff are very friendly, but they do minimal because you are picking out your food and then you are taking it to the grill and bringing it back to your table yourself. There are appetizers that are available but beware because if you’re only ordering appetizers there are only 10 tables to sit at otherwise you need to do take out the majority of the seats in this place are only available for those doing that all you can eat grill. We found this a good option for trying to keep healthy while on vacation compared to the other restaurants in the area that have fried food/bar food. Ambiance is great. They play great music outside and the fire pits are great as it gets a little chilly here in the evening - even in August - which we weren’t expecting but there’s no humidity so… it’s nice.

What an amazing experience! From the food prep process, which is like a show, to the food itself, all was very good. It's an interesting concept of a buffet where you choose your ingredients, the cooks cook it in front of you and all you need is a couple minutes of patience and a big stomach to fit in it all you can eat. We tried several combinations of foods with meats, and sea food, different sauces etc. If we ever see one of these chain restaurants somewhere again, we'll dine there for sure!
John S — Google review
My mom and I went and we definitely enjoyed it! We went for an early dinner, so it wasn't busy. They had good protein options (steak, pork, chicken, shrimp, scallops, tofu), and a plethora of veggies, noodles, and sauces. This would be a good place to come if you have a lot of people in your group who like different things. Have a kid who only likes butter noodles? Congratulations, you can make all the buttered noodles they want while you get a jerk sauce over your veggies, or spaghetti and meatballs. They even have burgers you can do for that one guy who only eats burgers. Our waitress was really nice, and the chef was too, he even offered to bring our food to us since there weren't a lot of people. Overall a really good experience, and as expensive as everything else is around here, it was a good price. My only suggestion would be for them to put out a print out of foods that have similar cook times.
Lexi B — Google review
Really enjoyed this place! The food was slammin... Because obviously I'm a master at pairing my food selections and sauces haha... To be honest.. Being that you pick out all the ingredients and the sauces people could give mixed reviews... And I don't think that's fair... If you stink at making bangin combinations... You might hate this place... But if you have the know how to make yummy pairings it could be the best place ever lol! So yeah.. Best place ever from me 🤣🤣🤣 Also if you're interested.. I made a TikTok with more in detail videos of yummy places I've tried... And beautiful places I've visited... So also follow me on there for more in depth pictures and videos... BVATRAVEL ❤️❤️❤️

Food was decent not the best quality but you can eat lot with their buffet option. Service is similar to a hibachi style restaurant where u see them cook in front of you. However the employees would throw plates and bowls into their bins for wash. Then they would scrap their food into a surrounding bin on their kitchen. Just made the food more unappealing for me. Also the way to grab raw food seems messy for me. Dietary restrictions will be hard for eating at this place as everything is cooked on the same place. Waiters were kind and helped move plates out of the way.

Edit: Can be for those with food allergies, super fun service and great options. After a really nice response from the restaurant I have learned that you can request separate grilling if you have food allergies. I went into the experience not knowing anything about the restaurant and so I and the person I went with didn’t know we could do that. Please keep that in mind if you end up going.

Nestled in the heart of Heavenly Village, Kalani's is a top-notch dining spot that offers a fusion of Pacific Rim flavors with a touch of Hawaiian influence. The restaurant boasts an array of delectable dishes such as sea bass, crudos, and Chicken Katsu. Additionally, it is renowned for its diverse selection of sushi rolls made with fresh island ingredients.
We went to this restaurant on a recommendation from the concierge at the hotel we were staying at, and it was within walking distance and there are a lot of other choices. The restaurant was packed on a Thursday night, but had a high-top table in the bar, so we went with that. Caleb our waiter/bartender, was super. He was professional and friendly and knew his stuff. So was the young man that brought out the food (forgot his name, picture included in the review). We ordered different drinks; I had the Hawaiian Margaritta (Just average) and then the Maui Sunset (Excellent), my wife had the White Linen and the Maui Sunset and loved both of them. The drinks were well done and looked impressive. We decided to order soups and appetizers for dinner. So we had a bowl of the Clam Chowder and the Lobster Bisque, and they were both excellent, tasted fresh and delicious. And we had an order of their award-winning Wing, the wings did not disappoint. They we had an order of Fried Ahi, Heavenly Roll, and Veggie Roll. The food looked and tasted very fresh and we enjoyed it all. I ordered a Hawaiian Bread Pudding, and that was just average, but I still enjoyed it. We will definitely come back.

Every time we’re in South Lake Tahoe, Kalani’s is the spot. It’s not even a question anymore it’s tradition. The sushi here is next level delicious. Super fresh, perfectly made, and packed with flavor. We seriously haven’t had a single dish we didn’t love, but if you’re looking for favorites, the Molokai Roll and the Hawaiian Roll are must-haves. They’re the kind of rolls that make you pause mid-bite and just go, “Wow.” Add a side of edamame and you’re golden. The Molokai Roll has the perfect balance of savory and spicy, and the Hawaiian Roll just melts in your mouth. The atmosphere at Kalani’s is just as great as the food , chill but still feels special. The service is always friendly and attentive, and the whole vibe just adds to the experience. Whether you’re a sushi fanatic or just want a top-notch meal, Kalani’s is a no-brainer. Highly recommend checking it out next time you’re in town!

We are glad we chose this restaurant for dinner while we were in downtown South Lake Tahoe. Because it was a last-minute decision, we were unable to make reservations to have a table inside, but the staff was able to take walk-ins and seat us at an outdoor table, which we really liked. We are enjoying good food while watching other visitors walking around shopping. The food was good, and we all liked it.

Went here for a quick lunch bite and a drink. It was a Saturday afternoon but it was not quite that busy. The hostess and a few of the waitress were rude and were rushing through the services and pushing people in and out as fast as possible. The 2 bartenders were great and helpful. This place would rate higher if it were not for their ride wait staff. The BBQ shrimp we had were good and the drinks we ordered were as well, we chose not to stay longer because of the service we received. Maybe another time-point will have better service.

Great food I had the BBQ pulled pork sandwich. The jalapeno pineapple slaw on it was great. I also tried the mac and cheese with bacon. It was also really good. Fries were well seasoned with flakes of salt which is better than regular salt.

Very nice location, I've been there before, but our most recent visit was annoying. I brought a group to have dinner there and one of the guests ordered a glass of house Chardonnay. They came back and said they were out of the house Chardonnay and offered a different wine that was $4 more. First of all, they should have given us that glass for the same price and we would have been fine to have ordered additional glasses at full price. They did not. Then when they served the wine, it wasn't in a glass, it was in a little plastic cup. They said no glass was allowed on the patio, which doesn't make sense given several people were drinking bottled beer on the patio. I was really embarrassed given I was the local who recommended the restaurant and they gave this kind of service. We finished our drinks and had dinner elsewhere. I will never take out of town guests there again.

The Naked Fish is a Hawaiian-influenced Japanese restaurant in South Lake Tahoe, known for its excellent sushi and creative fish dishes. It's a bit on the expensive side, but offers a high-quality dining experience that you won't forget. The house favorite dish is the BBQ albacore. The restaurant has fantastic service and food, with a variety of rolls, udon bowls, and appetizers to choose from.
Wow wow wow… this place is SO GOOD. We sat at sushi bar and had Ben as our chef. He made us a beautiful chirashi bowl with the best fish we’ve everrrr had. The BBQ tuna is TO DIE FOR, cooked to perfection. We also ordered a seaweed salad which was insanely fresh and filled with different beautiful seaweeds and cucumber. The House roll was amaaaazing as well. We were both so so so happy with everything and we will 1000000% be eating here anytime we’re in the area! 10/10 recommend if you’re craving DELICIOUS SUSHI.
Halie L — Google review
We are Asians from Los Angeles area. Having lived in NYC, Vancouver, London, and tried the best rolls/nigiri/sashimi in Japan, we ARE fish lovers and know our fish! As the name implies, their fish is fresh! Definitely not something one can easily find in the Lake Tahoe area, and like they indicated on their website, they probably had to drive 200mi away to get their fish. Their raw fish items were highly recommended! However, everything else was just meh. Due to some transient health reasons, we had to eat cooked meat today, but oh Lord, that was a bad decision. All the chicken dishes had overcooked chicken thigh. We couldn't believe any chef could fail on chicken thigh?! It was so tasteless and dry. - Salmon roll: 5/5*. Great! They know their sushi. Not comparable to the finest options in the big cities, but it was as good as it could get in this region. - Gyoza: 4/5*. Not bad. At least the meat was juicy, but deep fried wrap was too thick. At $18, it did not deliver. We'd rather take the frozen Gyoza from Costco. - Chicken udon: 2/5*. Chicken thigh was dry and tasteless. Broth had the right undertone but too much shiitake mushroom which was so strong. - Coconut curry with chicken: 3/5*. Authentic Japanese curry, but the chicken thigh was again dry and tasteless. Service and vibe were definitely 5/5*! In conclusion, just eat their raw fish. We wished they could have just focused their menu on sashimi, rolls and nigiri dishes only and forget other cooked dishes.

This restaurant only opens for dinner, 5pm-9pm. Very busy even during weekday; however, the wait time is not too long approximately 15-20min. Seating on the side of the chef’s station can get loud as there are lot of talking and activities between their sushi chefs. The sushi roll dishes tend to be on the smaller portion. For 2 persons, we were full after eating 3 sushi roll dishes and a noodles dish . The sushi could have been fresher and tastier.. great service from staffs!!

I don’t normally leave reviews like this, but this was unacceptable. My wife, her two friends, and three kids dined at Naked Fish — I was the one paying for the entire meal. Everyone at our table received their food except me. I ordered two items: a unagi (eel) nigiri and a sushi roll. What I was served was raw eel — which, for anyone who knows sushi, is not only incorrect but potentially dangerous, since eel must be cooked to be safe for consumption. I sent it back immediately. To make matters worse, they charged me $22 for that single piece of unagi — despite it being listed on the menu as $10. No explanation, no apology, just a silent overcharge. As for the second item, the sushi roll? It never arrived. I waited patiently while the entire table finished their meals. After 20 minutes of nothing, I had to cancel it. So to recap: I paid for a meal where everyone got their food except me I was served something inedible and unsafe I got overcharged I never received my second dish I left this restaurant hungry, overbilled, and extremely disappointed. I would strongly recommend avoiding Naked Fish — especially if you value safe food, honest pricing, and basic customer service. I’ll be following up to request a refund, and I hope they take some accountability for this experience.

This place is awesome. We had lunch here while passing through Tahoe for my husband’s birthday. We had the Salmon, Fresh Veggies in a Coconut Curry Sauce Served w/Rice and the Ultimate Vege roll with Asparagus, Avocado, Cucumber, Mixed Greens & Side of Pesto Sauce. Dessert was also amazing. Nice friendly atmosphere as well. Asha served us… she was the best.

These guys are killing it - so worth the wait. Everything was so amazing. It was all quite unexpected but the vibe these guys create was on point. From the start of the greeting from the host, the friendly servers and everyone in between- just felt welcomed and really didn’t want to end my dinner. Loved this place!!!

Good food, good service. Pricey but then, if you eat sushi, then it's expected especially freshly made. Fish were good (can't said fresh bc fresh mean you know the fish you eat was caught with in 24 hrs). I would come back.

Freshies Ohana Restaurant & Bar is a beloved local spot in South Lake Tahoe, offering wholesome and often organic food with a focus on vegan and vegetarian options. Despite its location on the mountain-side of the street, it provides a unique view of the lake from its private outdoor balcony space. The restaurant boasts island decor and a friendly wait staff, creating a slice of Hawaii in Tahoe.
Loved everything about this place. Felt welcomed from the moment we walked in even though it was nearing closing time. Service was great, and they were great about offering accommodations for dietary needs. Plenty of vegetarian options and very wholesome vibe. Food was fantastic- perfect to warm you up after a day out on the lake.

This place is pretty okay. Not the best thing I’ve had nor the worse. The fries we got (tri fries) were a bit over cooked and a bit too crunchy but well seasoned none the less. The fish tacos were good and probably the best thing we ate from here. The coconut shrimp was good as well and I liked them well. Also the food did take quite a bit of time to come out so that sucked a bit (about 3 water refills before we received the food) I will be honest however and this place was recommended to us and hyped up quite a bit so it was a let down from that. This place is good, nothing crazy nor anything uncrazy. The lady that helped us was super sweet however I don’t know if I would come here again if I was in the area because the price is a bit much for what I’d consider worth it.

The location and setting aren’t much, but the food and service have consistently MORE than made up for the (lack of) ambiance! It has been two years since our last visit, and they continue to create wonderful dishes. Plus, they have Pliny on tap!

Recommended by local artist Owen White @roodpart. Food was excellent, and the music was a good retro sound reminiscent of island life. Service was a bit slow during a not too crowded Friday night. We dove on the Buffalo Cauliflower appetizer, then Freshie's Island Plate, Spicy Jerk Chicken, Fish Tacos with a side Caesar Salad, and the famous Peanut Butter and Chocolate Mousse silky tofu pie resting on a Medjool date and pecan crust. Sorry, the Buffalo Cauliflower appetizer photo is after we had already started eating it.

We ordered ribs dinner and jerk chicken burger. The ribs are 10/10 and jerk chicken is 6/10 because it’s a little over cook and dry. The server is friendly. Good spot for Hawaiian food

In the decades we have traveled not only the USA, but other countries, we have never experienced such a scam regarding the super expensive food. The photos do not represent the actual food delivered. Do your family a great service and save your self from being scammed. The TINY remnant of food that was delivered, didn’t even taste good. HORRIBLE IS NOT STRONG ENOUGH!!! What a delicious and wonderful first experience we had. Wife and I went in for Early Dinner on Happy Hour and just happened that the GM, Alex was behind Bar, she used to manage Bar but is GM now and she was filling in. Not only was she super sweet and easy talk to, she knew everything, inside out and understood cooking really well. I har Aribta Root Beer which was delicious and my wife had Mimosas with Wycliff Bubbly and she loved it. We did a laundry list of Tapas and some desert, everything we had was just beautiful and delicious, can't beat the $5 Happy Hour. We had Calamari with a Spicy Chipolte, BBQ Chicken Skewers were excellent, then Duck Tacos (not HH, but really worth it) that were fantastic with a little Chipolte and Tamarind - WoW. We tried the Tomato Bisque which was very farm to table and fresh and we wanted some crustini so they grilled us 4 pieces, so fun. We finished with Sweet & Spicy Shrimp that were just beautiful, very fresh and perfectly sauteed, so tasty. We rarely do Desert, but my wife asked Alex what was the best thing and Alex proceeded to describe their Bread Pudding with a fresh Bluberry Compote and drizzled White Chocolate. It sounded so good and interesting, so I asked if they had Ice Cream, they did and of course it was home made Vanilla, perfect, sold. It was really as delicious, fresh and light as all described. Just a super fun culinary and personal experience. Thank you Alex and Team. Erick & Sharon Nielsen

Please read!! Ignore the value for money, as everywhere you go now is expensive to an extent. This place had it all, the server was fantastic and was very knowledgeable and bias (but a good bias with the food) as he was right about how good the food was. The drinks were great! With a couple of cocktails, some wine and a beer! Now, the food! Wow! Tapas style isn’t normally mine and my wife’s go to, but the food was out of this world. Stand outs were the Filet Mignon, Gnocchi, and the pork cheek! Absolutely incredible! We thought we were finished until the dessert menu came, we were stuck between the bread and butter pudding and the special for the day. We were swayed to the bread and butter pudding, and honestly it’s the best dessert we’ve had out!! So good we ordered another one hahah! Honestly a great experience! Thank you again! I even got to speak with the chef’s to tell them how good everything was, and they really appreciated it! Great place 😊

I’m so glad I came here! I was in Lake Tahoe exploring for a few days and was looking for a place to eat dinner. It’s such a touristy town with so many dining options. I was looking for a tapas place and stumbled upon The Loft. The vibe is dark and mysterious when you come in and you have to walk up a few flights of stairs to get to the restaurant and bar. Apparently they have magic shows but I came late so I missed it. I met a few of the employees who were all amazing! Shoutout to Taylor, Marlin and Todd! They were all sooooo friendly and were giving all of the locals recommendations on where to go around Tahoe. This place is pricey especially for the amount of food you get but the menu is unique which I appreciate. I had the arancini and scallops. I’m going to rate the food a 3/5 because the menu and flavors are unique but it’s not stand out food that I would come back for. I heard the burger is the best burger in Tahoe but I wasn’t hungry enough to get it. Def a cool place to check out! And the staff aims to please :)
Jenna Y — Google review
We had such high hopes—sadly the food experience fell short. Presentation was excellent, food was not hot (the ones that were supposed to be). Scallops, while of good quality, I have never had scallops that “should have been seared”served almost as sushi-which we do like, however, this tapas was not described as that. Wait staff was pleasant, however, rather distant—not certain if she was too busy but knew we were planning on attending the show and it took us actually going to seek her out in order to pay so we could be on time—rather odd, I’d say. We did allow the 1 1/2 hours for dinner as suggested and good thing we did. The manager did stop by for a nice visit while we were there which was enjoyable but never had any “strolling magicians”. Perhaps, they are not available every night? The show was FANTASTIC!! I would highly recommend buying tickets but, perhaps, if you’re foodies like us, finding another restaurant prior would be my suggestion though we may have just hit an öff-night”.

Stopped in here on a Friday night in October 2025, and our experience was phenomenal. GREAT FOOD! This was our last stop for the evening, having stopped at two other places for drinks and appetizers. The Loft was the very best food of the night! Imaginative, tasty, and just the right amount. Atmosphere and vibe was great, especially the intimate magic show in the seating area. Can't wait to go back.

Burger Lounge is so good!!!! There are a lot of options but by no means is it overwhelming. It makes you want one of everything. I had the heavenly bacon and avocado. It was delightful we had it to go this day but man the string fries are not what you think they are a nice size French fry golden to perfection! Perfect place for a delicious meal after a solid hike at emerald bayor if you just want to feel like you're celebrating with that kind of good, relaxed feeling. Sit outside and breathe in that air, have a burger, I had the heavenly which lived up to its name, with the combo. Creamy pesto fries and fresh sweet tea. And while we're at it, this tea was just as good as what I had in Arkansas and Kentucky. Highly recommend. I did do the quarter pound but it's normally half pound.

Don’t know what was better here - the burgers and the garlic fries or the amazing ambiance in the middle of all the trees. I got the burger with bacon and my wife got the chicken burger and both were delicious and filling. The seating in the airy outdoors were absolutely refreshing and relaxing after a long day in the sunny beaches of Tahoe.

Really good burger spot in South Lake Tahoe! Great choice of meat and vegetarian options, fast service, lots of space to seat. I totally loved my heavenly burger (soft, juicy, super filling) and my husband went with veggie Sticks & Twigs and also enjoyed it a lot. We set outdoor and indulged in food in shade of magnificent pine trees. What could be better? Prices were reasonable too so I definitely recommend to check out this place!

Very average (to below average) burgers. Good fries (ask for the dipping sauce), and not very pleasant service. The woman taking our order was annoyed by simple questions and short with her answers. The redeeming side is the nice large outdoor seating area in the trees.

We all arrived together, a large family group wi5 kids in tow. We ordered quickly and the food came fast. Wonderful patio dining with umbrellas and nice seating. The shakes were epic with fresh fruit and huge! The burgers were even bigger and there were so many choices. Vegan veggie burgers, chicken breast sandwiches, burgers done so many ways. A really impressive menu and since I am gluten and dairy free, lettuce wraps on any burger were a thrill. We will be back. Do not miss it. Ok, first timers at South Lake Tahoe and stayed at the Hilton resort. Usually hotel restaurants are not super impressive and also overpriced. HOWEVER, The Bear Moon Bar and Grill FAR exceeded our expectations the very first night! We ended up eating there a second time and again, it was SO good. First night, hubby had the rib eye (he said it might literally be the best one he’s ever had) and I had the Southwest salad and added chicken. I told him that for a salad, It was SO delicious and we both left very satisfied! We ate there a second time for a private party dinner and, again, were blown away at how good everything was! Mai Tai’s, chicken piccata over a creamy rice, prime rib and homemade peach cobbler were unreal. We would go back in the future for sure! Great food and phenomenal service too!

We enjoyed our meals very much, everything came out hot and fresh with flavor. We had excellent service as well! Happy hour drinks are about $8/piece average. Wish the bushes were cut lower so you had a lake view. But overall, this would have been 5 stars if it wasn't so expensive ($100 for 2 entrées and 4 happy hour drinks plus tip).

Windows and doors show the outdoor pool on side and on another the entrance to the outdoor seating and huge fire pits spacious walking paths and lush grass. Expensive, but delicious 🤤 A major perk for the property and I've worked at several Inns and suite hotels and this is one of the nicest on property dining I've seen. Wildly impressed with this spot for a good beer and some chill fun! Happy hour took us by surprise and we had a great pint. South Lake Brewing Company, founded by Nicole and Chris Smith, is the largest craft brewery in Tahoe. The brewery offers a wide range of beer styles including lagers, pale ales, IPAs, double IPAs and stouts available for on-site consumption or to-go. The dog- and family-friendly brewery features a spacious beer garden and front patio where visitors can enjoy live music events, games, and food truck vendors.
2025 Summer review. A great community staple! They rotate food trucks and pops up here. Betty’s Balls (tapas and catering) is offering up some early summer fare - the sliders are amazing! They rotate around music at the lake and the farmers markets. But back to the main event, the beer! And slushies. A must in the hot summer. They have a non-alcoholic slushie and a rotation of flavors for the others seltzer based options (prickly pear, watermelon, pina colada). Good space for large groups with 2 patios with umbrellas and a large main space with a pull down screen for events and sports. Dog treat and water area for the pups and games for the kiddos. Easy to park a bike and enjoy some of the old favorites and new brews (Fog Nozzle hazy IPA, Marlette Sunrise blood orange blonde, Sierra Oro Mexican lager, and Trail Blazer pale ale are fan favs). They have a wicked beer to go section too. Lots of events and they just celebrated their 8 year anniversary. Their merch is really cute also? I have a dog collar and my pup looks pretty sharp.

This is a nice small brewery in a good location on the west side of town. The parking lot is small, but there is public parking up the side road according to the sign when you exit the lot. It is super busy on the weekend during the summer, and there was a line out the door on a Monday afternoon when I was there. The IPAs are crisp and light, definitely not on the heavy side. They had a food tent outside, but I didn’t try anything there. I’ll be back for sure the next time I’m in town.

My husband and I took a day trip to Lake Tahoe and we happened upon South Lake Brewing Company. I like the chill and modern vibe of this place, with lots of natural light inside. They had a good selection of beer and 1 seltzer at the time. I’m giving this place 4 stars because I thought the service of the bartenders was a little lacking and I strongly disliked the seltzer I got but, it is a brewery and I felt their beers were pretty good. If you like beer, I would stop by and check this place out!

The beer garden addition in recent years is really awesome! The beer selection continues to grow and has been consistently fantastic. Also love the food pop up offerings, merchandise and fun events they have!

Wonderful craft brewery. Great tasting beer. Super friendly staff and equally friendly owners. We visited both locations. The food at the Libation location near Stateline is delish. It's got a very nice patio to watch the world go by.

Get a flight. They come on a ski. So fun. Otherwise we enjoyed the food and beers and the guy behind the bar was friendly. The blue cheese burger sliders were fantastic. I didn't care for the texture of the sweet potato fries but they tasted good.

Pretty upsetting experience. Walked in at 8:40 to just have one beer. There was about 10 dudes in the bar and 4 people outside. I walk in and the bartender is chugging a beer with the guest. He yells at me that the bar is closed for th night and I can grab a 4 pack to go. Pretty unacceptable behavior. Some of the guys at the bar say that I should be able to have a beer but the bartender just insisted that I leave. Been a local for many years, didn't know how this place operated.

Lake Tahoe AleWorX is a laid-back spot offering wood-fired pizzas with a variety of toppings, along with self-serve craft beers and outdoor patio seating. If you're in the mood for hearty German cuisine, Himmel Haus is the place to go, serving traditional dishes like schnitzel, spatzle, and sausage plates. Additionally, they offer a rotating selection of wursts including kielbasa and bratwurst.
Always a stop we make when we visit South Lake. We love this location in particular, a great outdoor seating area with fire pits, plenty of tables and sometimes live music. We stopped in over the weekend and enjoyed my favorite wood fired pizza, the Pera, and some time outside in the sun. My husband enjoyed carintas tacos and a generously sized wedge salad. Lots of local beer on tap too. Worth a visit if you’re in the area!

Cool place with a cool self serving beer taps. You get a card to scan each time you self serve your beer. Theres a good amount of seating but it does get busy at certain times. Plenty of parking in the area. Pizza was good and wings were great plain. Very cool atmosphere for some good beers.

Wow the food here is awesome! We gotta the truffle pizza it was so so so good. Their crust is perfect and all the toppings and flavors are just excellent. We also got the arugula salad, very fresh and tasty. And the ahi tuna salad was also very good. Everything we got was 10/10. This is a great place to have delicious upscale pizza but in a chill nice outdoor vibe without paying a ton. Highly recommend and would come back. They also have different things in case someone in your group doesn’t want pizza.

Have been here twice so far. First visit was great with a lot of attention from someone who was either the manager or owner. They have self service taps with beer, wine, mead, coffee, sangria, pretty much everything you can think of. In the left side they have alcoholic and NA slushies that you can ask a staff member for. The restaurant has 2 sections that have separate tabs. You need to go to one of the registers to get a card that activates the tap and tracks the amount you get. Love that I can try a little of everything. You can mix and match if you're more adventurous 😳. The right side has more wine, basic beers, and a bar for cocktails. Food on the right is more upscale pub food and they have a special for $40 weekend brunch with 2 entrees and a bottle. They also have Margarita bowls. The left side has a large assortment of really delicious pizzas. On the right side we had the bang bang chicken and mushroom dip. The chicken was crispy and sauce was very mild. Would've maybe liked a little heat with it. The mushroom dip can with tortilla chips and was creamy and delicious. On the left side we had the salciccia pizza. Crust was light and crispy. We liked that the sausage was crumbled and distributed throughout the cheese. We will definitely be back with visitors.

Fabulous overall property and layout. Great setting and seating, huge amount of choices on seating. Love the indoor outdoor and openness of main restaurant and bar area to patios. Had a Cobb Salad that was really large, loaded with great ingredients and the salad Dressings were outstanding. The woman who we talked with and served us was very kind, open and informative. Great place and we will return.

Truly had a great time ! I got the Wedge Salad, it was massive and tasty (sadly didn’t get a photo). The beer taps are so fun. You get a key card that you put at the top and you fill your drink from there. The staff were all really nice and service went smoothly

I met the owners son tonight, guy was such an amazing host and entertainer. Very cool atmosphere and self serve beer station. Food looked top notch. On Thursday they also have a night where special needs people get together and have fun. Such great people, can’t say enough about this place. A serious 10/10!

Love the froyo-style self-serve beer dispensary! So fun to be able to try tastes of so many things, give yourself short pours, self-medicate as much as you like. Why don't all bars do this?? Also love the fire pits outside and the live music... what a fun place!

Scusa Italian Ristorante is a traditional Italian eatery located in South Lake Tahoe, California. The restaurant offers a warm and inviting dining room as well as a heated outdoor patio for guests to enjoy their meals. With gluten-free and vegetarian options available, it caters to various dietary preferences. The menu features a wide variety of Italian dishes, with the lobster ravioli and Scusa garlic bread being highly recommended.
We loved our dinning experience here. The supportive staff are amazing, we had someone stopping and checking on us constantly. My husband ordered the seafood fettuccine which he liked and I had the fish special with mashed potatoes which was SO good! We drank water only because we got so much Sun that day and our water was constantly refilled, much appreciated! The ambiance was part of the experience, highly recommend.

Pretty solid spot, I would say it’s almost a hole-in-wall type of feel. I’m pleasantly surprised with the service , the food, and experience overall. They are thorough with every aspect of our dinner , refilling drinks , checking up on the table , and cleaning up everything and preparing for the next part of dinner. 8/10 overall in my opinion, just seems like a good chill spot to have some nice food and wine and relax with family. Thank you !

Scusa Italian restaurant was a good change of pace for us on our South Lake Tahoe vacation. The food, service, and atmosphere were excellent! The wait staff was very attentive and knowledgeable on the specials of the day. My wife had the lobster ravioli and i had the salmon scallopini. Definitely worth a visit when you're in the area.

Food was cooked perfectly! I love my food hot and that's the way it was delivered. We'll definitely eat here again!. We ordered the calamari appetizer to start. I had the lasagna and my wife had the seafood pasta, shrimp clams and muscle scusa. The calamari was cooked to perfection, we both enjoyed it. The lasagna was excellent and so was my wife's Seafood dish. I was only able to eat my vegetables and half of my lasagna, you will definitely leave here full. I should have snapped a before picture:) anyhow, try this place, you'll be back for sure.

I went here on my day off on a recommendation. I figured I would treat myself and order the filet. I ordered a medium rare and the first time it came out, it was medium well. Mistakes happen, so I sent it back, in about 10 minutes later…I got this one and it was rare.. I touched the center and it was ice cold. My server was great and it was not his fault and he was trying to have me order something else, but I was set on steak. I was informed that the head chef was the one that cooked my steaks, also which is not a good sign. A head chef that cannot cook a filet to temp is a red flag. 🚩 I literally cook 150-200 filets a day and it’s literally taught in the first semester of culinary.

We enjoyed our dinner at this place. Great Italian food and service. We enjoyed salmon and pork chops. Chicken was not as great as expected. The desserts were a bit too sweet for our taste. Overall, highly recommend this place if you're in South Lake Tahoe!

My wife and I arrived as they opened to avoid the crowd. The Lobster Ravioli app was crazy amazing! The sauce was so flavorful. I continued to eat the sauce long after the ravioli were gone. Our entrees were delicious, and our server was very attentive and personable. We couldn’t resist the Cannoli for dessert, even though we were stuffed.

I can't say enough of good things about Scusa. you must try it. We really enjoyed our dinner here last night. It was romantic and delicious. My husband got the chicken Marsala and I got the clams linguini. The Marsala was rich and creamy and also had a side of squash, which helped to balance the meal. The clams linguini was tasty with subtle flavors. It was light and had a hint of lemon in the sauce. Delicious! Then we shared the créme brulée for dessert. It had a nice thick crunchy top and the custard was not heavy, but light and creamy. The raspberry drizzle, and fruit on top made it refreshing. The service was also top notch, attentive, but not overly attentive, which can ruin dinner conversation. Thank you, Johnny for taking good care of us!

My wife and I had a great dinner here a couple weeks back. Food, wine and service were really good. I had the linguini and clams, which are not necessarily the most exciting meal, but it was very good. My wife had the spaghetti and meatballs and she loved that. A very big serving, as well. Also had the bruschetta appetizer and that was good too. Service was excellent here from our main server Jonathan, to all those assisting. Our waters were constantly refilled and our used plates quickly taken away. Was a really good dinner out.

Best Lasagna we have ever had! Definitely big enough to share. House Red went perfectly with it! Calamari with the sweet chili like sauce was amazing. My husband and I came here for an early dinner and thankfully they just opened so it's not crowded yet and we were attended to right away for a table. The staff that took care of us was Rafael, we started first thing with an Espresso and a short Americano - unfortunately, when we got our coffee we thought it tasted like instant coffee and we expressed our feedback to Rafael. We didn't realize that they opted out of the coffee on our order in the end when we asked for the bill. We appreciate the kind gesture, though. Then, we ordered the following: 1 Bruschetta $9.95 Chicken Izabella $28.95 Lasagna Ala Bolognese $25.95 Brownie $10.00 Total: $81.40 + Tips We were served first with their complimentary warm bread along with balsamic oil. And we didn't wait that long to have both being served the Lasagna and Chicken Izabella. We can confirm that their portions are generous, great for sharing among each dish. The Lasagna tasted good and was definitely rich with ingredients and for the Chicken, I loved the just nice flavour of Rosemary, Artichokes, the kick of the spicy and sour taste of the Peppadew, and Polenta complemented the light flavour when combining it with the chicken meat. The meat was tender and juicy. And we ended our dinner with a Brownie and a scoop of Vanilla Ice cream, Rafael was right upon recommending that dessert - it was a perfect combination. While the brownie can be a bit on the sweet side, the vanilla ice cream’s light taste made it a great combo in your mouth. While we appreciate the great quality of staff attentiveness and efficiency in terms of waiting time, we thought that the ambiance could be a bit brighter - at least that's how we prefer. We enjoyed our first visit overall.

Excellent Italian dinner with family on a weekend in South Lake Tahoe. What a great discovery! Conveniently on the boulevard, with a free parking lot at the rear and along the window front. Fully wheelchair accessible from parking / sidewalk with ramp. Called in for a reservation late afternoon, took a table at 7pm. We went there mid October, although during shoulder season the place was packed and many families were on a waitlist. Greeted by friendly, welcoming front desk and seated within minutes by helpful usher (booth table at the window). Server welcomed us, provided menu/drink list and explained the daily specials. Ice water, our drinks, and bread with olive oil were quickly served while we selected our dishes. We shared two appetizers, followed by mains and desserts. What a feast, can't remember when I had Italian comfort food that good. Tasty, delicious, hot plates and big portions. Yummy! At a great pace of being served, absolutely not being rushed. High five, highly recommended!!!

Cafe Fiore is a charming Italian restaurant located in a wood-framed chalet, offering an intimate dining experience with just a few tables. The restaurant boasts an extensive wine list of over 300 selections curated by the owners and has received accolades for its wine selection. The menu features rich dishes such as eggplant crepes stuffed with smoked salmon and beef tenderloin in Barolo wine sauce, crafted by the talented chef Gilberto Ramos.
A perfect 10. Starting from the time you make reservations. They have about 6 tables so you definitely will need reservations. The best time to try is between seasons as lake Tahoe is a summer/winter town. As for the staff they are amazing and very professional at the same time they make you feel at home. Now food: We started with fresh garlic bread and stuffed ravioli ( stuffed with goat cheese and fig) which were both out of this world. Then salad or soup ( fresh minestrone soup and salad with dressing Gorgonzola dressing). Was amazing. Then we had 4 different entries. First was stuffed rainbow trout (stuffed with crap) The second was capellini bocconcini, the meatballs just melted in your mouth and the pasta was cooked perfectly with just the right amount of marinara sauce. The third was spaghetti con salsiccia, the sausage you couldn't get enough of perfect taste ( a little spice and the right amount of other flavors). Once again the spaghetti was cooked perfectly with the right amount of sauce. Now the last was pollo alla Sonoma, the chicken was cooked perfectly and the sauce was amazing. The wines were perfect and if you don't like wine they have a few beers that would amaze you. They gave us a little sample of their dessert as we were all stuffed which I wish I would have saved more room for as it tasted great and would have been a great item to finish with.

I don’t know if it was the color of our skin, or something else, but we felt like we were treated differently compared to the other guests/tables which were predominantly white. We came here for my birthday with all the good reviews, and the food didn’t fail! We ordered Linguine Fra Diavolo, Filetto al Barolo, Spinach Salad. They were cooked to perfection! We would definitely come back for the food but not for the service!

Cafe Fiore in South Lake Tahoe is excellent. Service was friendly and personable, and the food was top notch. We had the Veal Saltimbocca and they made an off menu Veal Marsala, both were excellent the Marsala sauce was light and excellent. Tiramisu and White Chocolate ice cream topped it all off. Make reservations, only six tables inside, but we'll worth the effort.

TL;DR - Easily the best restaurant in the Lake Tahoe area and one of the best meals of my life. Go here. I am not a Michelin reviewer and Michelin does not review in SLT of course but this restaurant definitely deserves AT LEAST a Bib Gourmand award. Let's start with the service, it was superb. We were a walk up and did not realize we would need a reservation but they squeezed us in without much trouble. Everyone was extremely friendly and eager to answer questions and assist us with choices. I won't spend much time on the atmosphere, but if you're looking for a spectacular date, you couldn't design a better location. I want to come back here in the winter just so I can sit at a window table and watch it snow as I eat some pasta. I would choose this over the Edgewood view, but maybe that's just me. I will say, this place is not ideal for large groups. They could probably accommodate 6 people at most. The food is absolutely out of this world. I'm very picky when it comes to pasta, having worked at multiple Italian restaurants. Before tonight, there was only one pasta in all of California that I could honestly recommend. There are now two. I got the Spaghetti con Salsiccia and my wife got the Idaho trout special. It was genuinely one of the best meals of my life. This place might not be for everyone, but if you have a genuine palette and appreciate good food you won't be disappointed.

Amazing food, very cosy place. Superb service and everything is just perfect. I’ll recommend all couple to check out this place whilst at Lake Tahoe (make reservation because tables are pretty limited!) Recommended dishes - Swordfish - Garlic bread - Tiramisu - Linguine chicken

A very nice and cozy place for a romantic date. The hospitality here was the best I’ve seen. They have great authentic Italian food with a good selection of wines and plenty of vegetarian options. Since they make every dish to order, they allow you to customize everything the way you like. Would recommend reserving a table well in advance as there are only 7 tables here. The portion sizes are very good and one pasta dish was enough for the two of us. The desserts are a must try
Yash S — Google review
The BEST restaurant in south lake tahoe. We tried multiple restaurants in town and generally their impressions were good but this Cafe Fiore nailed it. Their filet minon is a must-try, the best steak I've had for medium-well. So tender and juicy. I loved their other dishes and desserts. Personally Izabella is better for Garlic bread because their red sauce is so good. But others are better at Cafe Fiore. The servers...what can I tell? They are on top of all things and made our time so luxurious and enjoyable. I realized they left me THREE voice messages on the day of reservation but I guess it's overkill, even though its needed for they only have limited tables. Other than that, yes I highly highly recommend you try this place. Book in advance!

Not only is the food always great but the people are so accommodating and wonderful. Also lots of great art work for sale at crazy low prices. Extensive wine list. Update: We had the opportunity to go back last night 6/21/23. Great experience! The Ravioli appetizer was crazy good. You could hear people through out the restaurant exclaiming how good it was. The Swordfish was the star of the meal. I am a fish eater who usually does not do a meaty fish. The swordfish was soft and delicate.

A very Tahoe place friendly to dogs and humans. There is even a pool table and outside seating. Pulled pork sandwiches and sliders were so tasty. I added the other sauces on top of the sauce they can with. The sweet and smoky was the best. My friend was over the moon about the Turkey melt. Shrimp and grits were tasty too. Service was good. Food came fast.

After driving by a few times, and checking the location for reviews, our family decided we wanted to check out the BBQ at Sonney’s! We were a big group of 9, and went for lunch without a reservation - but fortunately they were not busy and there were ample options for seating indoors and outdoors. Our server was very polite, and did a pretty good job at making sure that everyone’s orders were in and made correctly - but unfortunately my father-in-laws order was never put in. And after waiting over 30mins, we decided to cancel it (although I doubt the kitchen ever received it). For my order, I went for the “Pig Wings” and BBQ rib platter with the beef and pork ribs! Both were delicious - especially the unique spin on the pork shanks with the “Pork Wings”.

This place has a nice large patio in addition to the inside seating. The service was great and the atmosphere was nice. We loved the tacos, especially the brisket and the pulled pork tacos. The cheese was grilled onto the tortillas and they were delicious. They come with only pico, but it would have been nice to have a salsa option or two. The brisket plate was ok. The cheese grits seemed to be the favorite side that we tried. They have several good craft beers on tap and others in cans.
Jamey M — Google review
First time. We came hoping it delivered though reviews were mixed. I think it is “mediocre” at best. Perhaps it’s because we came for lunch and the freshly smoked meats were still in smoker. The “brisket” was overcooked and super dry. And that should never be the case. The “pulled pork” was good but there was more coleslaw than meat so we were disappointed. On the bright side, the fries were great. Staff were friendly. Draft beer selection was limited and not meant for serious beer drinkers. I really wished it was better. Oh well.
Richard S — Google review
This place is a vibe! Food here is great, and everything was so fresh. The Brisket melts in your mouth and the portions are large and filling. Angela, our server was on top of everything and super welcoming. She even brought us hot towels after we finished our meal! They truly thought of the smallest details.

The overall dining experience was good. The waiter and service were great. However, the food was subpar. The brisket was dry and rather chewy. You shouldn’t need a knife for a brisket. I’m pretty sure the baked beans had liquid smoke in them as well.

Their potato skin was delicious and their lomo was above average. The drinks were also delightful for a summer evening. They were probably understaffed so we were mostly ignored. We asked for an outside table when I made the reservation but when we checked in, they said there weren’t any even though we saw a few. We enjoyed the hotel stay there but the dining experience was lackluster and dampened the vibes for the weekend. So maybe you can skip their dining offerings if you’re staying at the Edgewood.

The dishes were beautifully presented and full of fresh flavors. The sesame-crusted seared tuna with noodles was outstanding — light, refreshing, and perfectly balanced with crunchy vegetables and a tangy dressing. The salmon entrée was cooked just right — tender inside with a crispy seared edge, served with creamy mashed potatoes and fresh greens, making it both rich and healthy. The green soup was surprisingly delightful — smooth, flavorful, and visually stunning with a delicate cream design on top. Overall, the restaurant offers elegant plating, fresh ingredients, and a calm, cozy atmosphere. A great place for a relaxing dinner or date night.

Oscar waited on us back in July on my husband’s birthday. He was kind, efficient and more than adept. He deserved a good tip! Unfortunately, my poor math skills resulted in me leaving him a paltry tip. (And I hadn’t even been drinking!) I have been trying to right my wrong, but in the meantime, I wanted to leave him this nice review. Edgewood at Tahoe is a beautiful resort and the staff we encountered were nothing short of wonderful. (We also had a great interaction with the man working the gift shop that evening.) We are not the typical high-end clientele (think Steph Curry, Travis Kelce, etc.) that a place such as Edgewood often caters to, but we would never know that. Oscar and his colleagues made us feel like VIPs.

Nestled within the vibrant atmosphere of the Hard Rock Hotel, Alpine Union Bar & Kitchen is a delightful spot for those seeking a casual dining experience. This eatery showcases an inviting ambiance with rustic charm, making it perfect for unwinding after a day of adventure. The menu features an array of American dishes crafted from locally sourced ingredients, ensuring that every bite bursts with flavor. Whether you're in the mood for hearty comfort food or lighter fare, Alpine Union has something to satisfy your cravings.
Burgers, Beers, and Brisk Service at Alpine Union Last night, the family dining squad - Madison (the burger connoisseur), Jess (the cheese aficionado), and myself (Michael, the rare burger enthusiast) - embarked on a culinary adventure at Alpine Union Bar & Kitchen, nestled in the bustling Golden Nugget Lake Tahoe Hotel and Casino. Madison tackled The #1 Burger, sans onions, like it was her last meal before a desert island drop-off. Medium-well, just how she likes her burgers and her humor. Jess went for the Black & Blue Burger, a masterpiece of blue cheese crumbles (in such abundance she could have started a cheese farm) and bacon, cooked medium to harmonize with her standards. Sweet potato fries were the unanimous side choice because, let’s face it, regular fries are so 2020. Jess and I washed down our burger bliss with a Deschutes Brewery IPA, because nothing says ‘gourmet’ like a burger with a side of craft beer. I, in a daring culinary move, chose the Mac N Cheese Burger. It's basically a carb tower with a beef foundation, and let me tell you, it was as majestic as it sounds. Requested rare, because I like to live on the edge. The place oozes cool vibes with ski-themed décor, offering a glimpse into a hipster’s winter wonderland. Outdoor seating with heaters for those who like their dinner with a side of fresh air, and a bustling bar area for the social butterflies. Now, the service. Picture a marathon with burgers and beers instead of water stations. The servers, outnumbered by hungry patrons, were basically sprinting. Service was a tad slow, but considering it was a two-man show on a Saturday night, they deserve medals, not complaints. "Alpine Union: Where the burgers are as impressive as the staff's sprinting skills."

We stopped in for lunch and both did the steak. The food was very subpar...the mashed potatoes were cold probably from a boxed mix. The steak was cooked correctly but a bit lacking in flavor. The saving grace was the chocolate cake...it was very rich and good! A little disappointed there were no beers on tap available which limited selection of drinks a lot. I would say this is more of a last choice if everywhere else is super busy.

The wait staff was extremely friendly and attentive but that’s as good as it got. I ordered a medium rare burger and got an extremely well done burger. My fiancée ordered a New York Steak medium rare and he got a rare steak. We were seated near the kitchen and could smell a fishy scent in the air. We got our food fairly quickly and were just as quickly disappointed. So bummed. I wish we’d have loved it. 😔

Breakfast was great. I had the Avocado Toast Breakfast. Really good. Kelly, our waitress, was awesome! I would have given 5 stars but my friend's eggs Benedict weren't cooked properly. We also enjoyed a very tasty bloody mary.

GREAT FOOD AND EXPERIENCE…. We sat at the bar on a very busy Friday night. Scott and Koby took great care of us. They were very funny and friendly. We ordered the Prime Rib (a steal at $25 bucks!), the ahi poke, and Lake Tahoe Cobb Salad. Would definitely go back!

Pros: -Yummy food! Loved the burgers. Split a Mac & Cheese Burger and Onion Ring BBQ Burger with my spouse. Delicious! -No wait to get seated Cons: -Slow service, 15+ minutes to get drinks after ordering (only 2-3 servers covering the whole restaurant) -Very dark and cold inside restaurant (you can see my photo is dark because it was dark at our table)

Emerald Bay Bar & Grill is a lively sports bar in South Lake Tahoe, offering a casual American menu and a vibrant party atmosphere. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily, with popular happy hour drink specials and outdoor dining on the spacious patio featuring a fire pit and horseshoe games. With nine flat-screen TVs and a large outdoor projector, it's an ideal spot to catch the game with friends.
Nice rustic outdoor space that is family friendly. Food tasted great. I ordered the Backcountry Bahn Mi. It was good but I’d say it’s more like a great pork sandwich with Bahn Mi fixens.

Emerald Bay Bar and Grill offers ample parking, a spacious outdoor patio with umbrellas and fire pits, and an inviting indoor area. We visited for breakfast, and unfortunately, the experience fell short of expectations. The outdoor seating looked perfect for a sunny day, offering shade under umbrellas and fire pits for cooler nights. However, the service and food left us significantly underwhelmed. Our server was practically non-existent. We had to flag her down for everything, which significantly impacted the overall experience. The food itself was quite disappointing. My hummus and pita bread arrived incomplete. It was missing the promised fresh vegetables and lacked the advertised garnish of olive oil and smoked paprika. To make matters worse, the hummus itself was strangely sour, and the pita bread was dry. The Texas French toast was the only saving grace, deemed decent by my companion. The Bay standard English breakfast came with toast, tater tots, and a choice of meat. However, the tater tots were cold upon arrival. It's important to note that a simple order like ours took a substantial 35 minutes to prepare. This, coupled with the inattentive service and underwhelming food quality, makes it difficult to recommend Emerald Bay Bar and Grill for breakfast.

This is a must go to spot. Good food, good drinks, all the staff are super friendly, outdoor patio seating is plentiful. It's dog friendly so you can bring your 4 legged friends. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming, our son was running around with another kid his age having a blast. The waitresses were always checking in even though it was pretty packed and always had a smile on their faces. Support local businesses, go get some food, drinks, and a great ambiance for a reasonable price. You wont be let down

Old school third generation Tahoe local here. This review is for the owner who I have the pleasure of meeting down in the Bay Area at a local Mexican restaurant. He was a very pleasant gentleman and seemed to respect the mountain and to the lake, unlike many people up there now. This place looks amazing. Just like a lot of the local spots I remember growing up there before everything got bought out by corporate America. Just a nice neighborhood spot where locals could go to hang out. Food looks amazing and I can’t wait to stop by next time I’m in the area. Looks like he’s got a damn nice place here that reflects the old-school charm that I remember so much about Lake Tahoe.

Stopped here for breakfast before leaving South lake Tahoe with my family and dog. Most of us ordered breakfast, it was very delicious. We sat outside in the patio area on picnic style benches while a trio played live music. It was a relaxing vibe that was definitely appreciated before the trek home. I would definitely stop here again with my dog during one of my vacation days in the future to enjoy the food and live music again.

Another bar we came to to watch the game and have a few drinks and snacky-poos, based off google reviews. The vibe was good within the bar, people, and bartender. I got the dry rub wings, with buffalo on the side with ranch. I am a RANCH fanatic and it just tasted like straight mayonnaise. I love house made ranch but this one was missing the kick. Drink prices weren’t bad and service was good. I would come by here again for a drink but that’s about it.

Our biggest regret was going in after lunch for a drink because we had no idea how substantial their food menu was…or how delicious everything was going to smell and look. Almost ordered a pot pie to go but settled for enjoying a hot toddy. We chatted with Janine and noticed how well she knows her regulars…mark of a great bar and a great bartender! We will be back!

The server named Andrea is the worst, very rude. We saw the place and went for the first time. We arrived and we were a party of 8. We told her it was going to be split checks (only two checks) and from there she started acting rude. Then, she started asking what we were going to drink and we told her we weren't going to order anything right now, that we were going to look at the menu. Her answer was "oh well, if you guys want water there's a tap right there, you guys can serve yourself" and she was rolling her eyes. She was also acting rude to the other table at our party, so we got up and left.

Restaurant
Verde Mexican Rotisserie is a vibrant Mexican restaurant located at the Y on the outskirts of South Lake Tahoe. They take pride in offering healthy and flavorful dishes made from locally-sourced ingredients, including antibiotic and hormone-free meats. In addition to traditional Mexican fare like burritos and tacos, they also feature a unique whole rotisserie chicken option.
We stopped in for lunch before heading home on our weekend getaway. Everything on the menu is wholesome and is friendly for veggie and meat eaters. We both ordered burritos and an order of chips and salsa. The vegetarian burrito is delicious. I wasn't sure what to expect with the brown rice inside, but it was cooked perfectly. It was fluffy and not bland. I enjoyed it. The burritos were also huge, and I saved the other half for later. The chips and salsa were also delicious. Thenchips are hearty and not overly salted. We ordered the medium salsa on everything. Get the hot if you like it spicy, but I enjoy verde salsa, so it was perfect for my taste.

I ordered a salad: verde 12.95 added Tri Tip 4.95 The price came out to 22 dollars! Anyways, I let it slide. I ended up with a burrito with sweet potato. It was alright. Not what I ordered but I still ate it. Even I mix up a burrito with a salad every now and then at least it came with tritip. Verde should revise the menu just increase the price to $15 with the choice of meat included in that price. The sign reads "Mexican Rotisserie" not "Mexican Salad" on the sign! And im over here adding rotisserie to my salad... cmon. There is a spot on north shore similar to this one that doesn't have fancy names to the dishes And they won't disappoint. You want rotisserie they know what's up. Bring cash tho. I felt robbed. Verde just take the 4.95 extra charge for the meat make it a real carnivorous establishment. In this touristy town food establishments will price gouge on whatever they can. Until verde fixes this issue don't say i didn't say I didnt warn you.

This place was clean and bright, and had a hip young vibe. The favorites from our family were the mahi mahi tacos and chicken tacos. I would skip the tri-tip tacos next time. The salsas were the best we’ve had in the Tahoe area. The homemade kombucha was excellent.

Wow! After traveling all day to get to Tahoe, what a great first choice of food! I ordered the Burrito Salad with chicken. It was incredibly flavorful, healthy, and filling. Honestly it was so flavorful it didn’t need dressing but the vinaigrette was 🤌🏼. Service was top notch and respectful, we had our space. I would describe the atmosphere as contemporary nature, complete with calm modern country music. Thank you!!!

During our visit to Lake Tahoe, we decided to grab lunch at this restaurant. The Verde Burrito Bowl, Verde Salad, and Rotisserie Chicken Plate were outstanding! The flavors were a delightful mix of freshness and authenticity. The meat was cooked to perfection, tender and flavorful. The interior was tastefully decorated, creating a pleasant atmosphere. The attention to detail in both the cuisine and ambiance was impressive. The staff was friendly and provided excellent service. A must-try for anyone in the area seeking a satisfying and enjoyable dining experience. We'll definitely be returning!

Delicious, healthy and generous portions - the torta burger is my personal favorite as are their selection of sides. Love that it's locally owned. Lots of vegetarian and vegan options if that's your jam.

This place has fresh, tasty and well-prepared Mexican food with a modern twist. It is the place I go to most in South Lake Tahoe. Yesterday I was really disappointed in the service. The cashier was extremely impatient and kept asking us if we were ready to order. When I asked if she had horchata (a question that I think is fair in a Mexican restaurant), she rudely answered that if it’s not on the menu, they don’t have it. Guess the cashier may have been having a bad day, but it really seemed unnecessary to talk to customers as she did… especially because the restaurant was empty at the time we ordered and there was no line. I don’t usually post reviews, but this experience left a bad taste in my mouth and I felt I needed to share.

My new favorite Tahoe lunch spot! Here’s why. Food: Ingredients are of high quality, fresh and well prepared. You can see the rotisserie chickens roasting, and they taste great. The tacos (fish and shrimp) were a healthy portion size and super messy. Yum. Service: Problem solvers. I called ahead about dog-friendly seating. While the restaurant isn’t really set-up for your pup to join you, the person on the phone offered some solutions. There is one table in front of the restaurant to sit or you can do take-out to eat at the tables at the end of the shopping plaza. Ultimately I left my pup at home but appreciated being given options. Second example, I couldn’t decide which taco to pick (fish or shrimp). She suggested one of each. Perfecto! Atmosphere: Great modern Mexican vibe. Clean, stylish. All around great experience and value. We’ll be back!

American restaurant
Nestled in the heart of South Lake Tahoe, The Lake House Restaurant is a stunning transformation from its former identity as Passaretti's. This elegant dining spot boasts a chic and modern decor that perfectly complements its sophisticated American cuisine and carefully curated wine selection. Ideal for romantic evenings or special occasions, the restaurant features an inviting atmosphere with neutral tones and meticulous attention to detail. Guests can indulge in delightful dishes like fresh ceviche, which bursts with flavor thanks to expertly balanced spices and citrus.
Beautiful restaurant and I was especially thrilled that everything on their menu (except the bread and croutons) are gluten free. I have a severe wheat allergy and was able to enjoy fried calamari!! The risotto and main dishes were delicious. Service, ambience, and food all superb. We’ll be back!

Beautiful restaurant, kind and helpful staff, and absolutely AMAZING FOOD! I've found my new favorite restaurant. Everything was cooked to perfection. The majority of the menu is or can be gluten free. 😍🤩😍 Our waitress, Heather, was on top of everything. When I mentioned that my husband and I were splitting an entree, she had it split onto two plate already for us! We had the calamari, crab cakes, chicken marsala, tiramisu, and lemon mascarpone cheesecake 😋 I've never been to a restaurant where I thought everything was fantastic, until now. The chicken was cooked to perfection, it was tender and juicy and I didn't even need the knife to cut it. FYI, if you like a sweeter tiramisu, this one is less sweet but more coffeey, delicious regardless.

Everything in Lake Tahoe feels very… touristy. Not this place. It was a quant restaurant close to all the good stuff in South Lake Tahoe, but away from the touristy vibe the town can have. Their service was exceptional. Our waitress, Adonica, was so friendly and had great recommendations when it came to the menu. The food portions were perfect and everything tasted great! Get their ceviche, lobster chowder, and lamb chops. Amazing!

One of the newer restaurants in South Tahoe and it's a welcome change from the simpler quick fix that you'd normally get in the area The ambiance is excellent and I can see how some people have their anniversaries here while on vacation. Would recommend the escargot, good bread and solid butter. My sister has her orthodontics, so I appreciate that the chef did a great medium well. Also would recommend the Chimichurri shrimp and scallop. Tender scallops, great shrimp, and fingerling potatoes to soak up the sauce, excellent It's definitely ideal to have a reservation as it seemed the place filled up real quick after 6PM

A great place to visit when in Lake Tahoe. The owners did a great job remodeling the old Italian restaurant. The decor is simple elegant, colors very neutral to make you feel at ease and a great attention to details. I started with the ceviche and it was phenomenal, the fish tasted fresh and there was just the right amount of lemon juice and spices to give you a burst of flavors. For the main dish I had the Duck two ways and I was very nicely cooked, crispy on the outside and super tender and moist on the inside. The glaze reduction took things to another level. My wife had the Portobello Mushroom and it was also at the same level of taste and flavors. I was impressed on how the chef made simple vegetables taste so good. Kim was our waitress, she did a great job. This restaurant is a must if you are in town, we will definitely be back.

Decent meals - my ribeye steak was tougher than a catcher's mitr, but everyone else thoroughly enjoyed their meals. We got a very sunny table on a hot day while other tables were shaded.

This was absolutely tasty. The duck was PERFECTLY cooked. The apps were amazing—this is the first steak tartare I’ve had that was not aggressively seasoned. The hamachi ceviche was so tasty that I wanted to keep eating it. And last but not least the Caesar was was one of the best salads I’ve ever had, like ever.

The Mexican restaurant Jaliscos is known for serving up classic eats like tacos and burritos, but they also offer weekend specials and a salsa bar. Their food is always great and they don't use lard in their beans and rice, which makes it even more healthier.
Amazing local restaurant. Their chile relleno burrito was delish. I recommended getting it as a wet burrito with half and half sauces. The chicken enchiladas with rice and beans was homemade and very fresh. Awesome salsa bar too.

It's a nice little taqueria in South Lake Tahoe. The service is friendly, the food is good, and the atmosphere is simple. The prices are a little higher than I appreciate, breakfast burritos are almost $11. I will go here occasionally just to switch it up..

Yummy little place I stumbled upon. The asada super burrito was bigger than expected for the price, so it was a great deal and very delicious. The tacos could’ve been better but for $2.50 they were heavy on the meat and still tasty. Overall, great prices and good food.
Lily M — Google review
This place was our go to for years. In fact I previously gave them 5 stars. I don’t like giving bad reviews but I also don’t like giving 5 stars that are not warranted. This place no longer warrants that rating. In fact we have taken friends here who also have told us they no longer will even go here. The prices have gone way up, which I get, but portion sizes are shrinking and so is quality and taste. Today I got a taco that had maybe 7 pieces of meat but two I couldn’t even eat. I counted 9 chips for my husband and I but if we want more we need to pay? 9 chips for two people. Two tacos use to fill me up but not the size now. My husband’s burrito was also much smaller. Unfortunately this may be our last visit. We keep giving them another chance but we have given them too many with no improvement.

Wonderful Mexican food in South Lake Tahoe. We ordered the Super Burrito and it lived up to its name. Chock full of meat, guacamole, sour cream, cheese, beans, and a whole raft of delicious flavor, the super burrito does not disappoint. It's also massive, and fit for a large hungry human. We also ordered a pair of enchiladas and those were solid. Service here is really friendly too. If you're in South Lake Tahoe, and craving some Mexican food, look no further!

Imagine you had a long day at the beach. You just finished your third (maybe fourth?) White Claw surge. Not drunk, but wouldn’t pass a breathalyzer. You decide that tacos are what will satisfy the hunger that’s been building since your $22 avocado toast that morning. Sheepishly, you and your friends decide on Jaliscos. It’s walkable from where you were and well, it does serve those tacos you’re after. Upon entry you’re met with the classic taqueria vibe. “Bang!” you think, “this has to be a winner”. The man at the cashier is eager to take your order. “It even has a salsa station!” you think to yourself. You and your friends made a great choice. Time to plow through some food. You order an assortment of different tacos, not giving it much thought because they must all be great… right? And then they come out. You can feel the overwhelming excitement and joy flush out of your body with *extreme* speed. Just a few sad corn tortillas that may have been sitting behind that kitchen window for days. Months even. The proteins that you picked? Even sadder. The chicken looks similar to something you’d see served in a small English village before a Mexican spot in California. Not even a pity splash of salt and pepper. Only the whitest, most bland looking chicken you’ve ever seen. Are you sure it’s even chicken? It could pass as tofu. Perhaps even cardboard painted off-white. The taste is exactly as you expected. Not much more to say there. The other tacos were fine - but you can’t help but feel robbed of what should have been an incredible meal. Two stars.
Carl D — Google review
Most of the taqueria in the area closed quite early, so you only have a few options to choose from after 6 pm. I like to try out new taqueria each time I'm here, and this was the one on the list. I didn't have too high of an expectation since this is more of a tourist area. The tacos were okay, I had birria and carnitas for the meat. The carnitas were pretty dry and flavorless in the mouth, so I had to drench it with sauce, which I don't like doing if the meat itself is good. The birria taco was also dry and not much flavor to it, which is surprising since birria should be the most juicy out of other meat options. The burrito was huge, and I would say it was at least a pound worth of food. I asked for no rice, and the inside felt like it was mostly filled with sour cream and lettuce. The asada didn't have much flavor or texture to it. I would say this place is reasonable priced and the portion is good. If you're just looking for a place to fill you up, then this place will do the job. If you're looking for some tasty tacos and burrito, then you should look elsewhere. There are parking spots out in the front, and Google maps will only guide you to the parking lot entrance. So you have to keep going all the way in, and it'll be on the right.
Jason Y — Google review
Really wanted to like our neighborhood taqueria but it’s a no for us. Came in for lunch to just a few customers inside, no wait and not a heavy load happening in the kitchen. Ordered a variety of tacos and all meats didn’t seem fresh, dry and tasted as though they were reheated from the day before. Chips and salsa were ok but all else was not worth another visit.

If you're on the hunt for a laid-back barbecue experience, look no further than Chicken In A Barrel BBQ in South Lake Tahoe. This unique eatery specializes in mouthwatering dishes cooked in custom steel drum barrels, offering an array of flavorful options like pulled pork and BBQ ribs. The Hawaiian-style mac salad is a must-try! After a day exploring Emerald Bay State Park, we stumbled upon this gem and were blown away by the quality of the food.
This is a refreshingly really good fast-casual restaurant. Both the brisket and chicken plates were great. The chili is very good (warning Texas chili fans — it has beans). It’s a good location on Lake Tahoe Dr., and it is very pleasant to sit outside on the patio and enjoy the scenery and mountain air.

Stopped by Chicken In A Barrel for a late lunch. We ordered a Po Boy Sandwich with shredded pork ($10.00) and seasoned fries ($3.50) for takeout. The sandwich was tasty and the fries was seasoned and crunchy. Lots of seats inside and some outside. There weren't anyone there when we were there. Probably due to the off season (early May). Support family owned, local businesses! What a great place. Came around 8 pm and met Don the owner who guided me with recommendations. Cycled there (bike racks located conveniently in the front) but asked what would be good to pack in a small carrier I had on. Ordered the beef brisket grilled cheese sandwich with pepper jack cheese and two orders of their macaroni salad. They accept touchless pay, tipping optional. I mentioned I was going across to the market to grab my food and he offered to place the order in a bin that keeps the meal warm until I got back. The place is super cool. They have plenty of indoor seating that opens up to an outdoor seating. This isn’t your average grilled cheese either, it was heartily sized for adults. They have signature bbq sauces at their condiment station, plenty of parking.

We went here for an early dinner and ordered the following: Chicken and Rib Plate Pulled Pork Plate Total: $57.94 + Tips While we didn’t wait long, we thought that the pulled pork did not so much flavour from the meat itself the same for the rib. The chicken had more flavour than the two but it can be too overpowering. And a good portion for each meal we ordered. Overall, we were okay with the food, service, and atmosphere.

Amazing bbq and service!! The waiters were very kind and hospitable, and the food came out really quickly. They smoke all their meats in house and make their sides fresh. Their chicken and ribs were particularly smokey and tender. Would recommend eating those with their spicy bbq sauce, and you can’t skip out on their fries!

Simply the best barbecue chicken I've ever had. Smoky, juicy, packed full of flavor. No sauce required. Ribs were ok, still no sauce needed, but no standout. Beef and pork lacked flavor, but we're tender and juicy. They needed plenty of sauce and the sauces were excellent. The staff were courteous. The water was good.

I was excited because I thought it was going to be your normal staples of BBQ side dishes so when I ordered I just did something basic because I didn't want brown rice or chili beans. The pull pork sandwich was okay.. most of the flavor was from the BBQ sauce. The asthetics of the place were nice, service good food okay.

**Review of the Speakeasy in South Lake Tahoe** Having visited many speakeasies around the world, I was excited to check out the first speakeasy in South Lake Tahoe, and it didn’t disappoint! The place is small but charming, with a cozy atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. One of the highlights of my visit was the live music, which added a vibrant energy to the space. It’s the perfect backdrop for enjoying a night out. The cocktails were impressive; each drink was crafted with care and creativity, showcasing a thoughtful selection of ingredients. The only downside was the service, which was a bit slow during my visit. Overall, I highly recommend this speakeasy for its unique ambiance, great live music, and fantastic cocktails.

Brunch was VERY expensive. We paid $55 for 2 bagels, no drinks, no sides, just 2 bagels sandwiches. There are plenty of places nearby for much, much cheaper for a breakfast sandwich. The bagels themselves were fine, they were under-seasoned and dry because they had no sauce at all. You’d probably find better at any old bagel shop. Do not recommend brunch at all.

***Worst Rueben sandwich I’ve ever eaten in 40 years. I’ve been here multiple times. Their burgers are good and their fried chicken and fries are normal bar fare. Outside patio is nice and the vibe is great. Sometime they have live music adding to the ambience Service is a solid 3. Surprised how bad the Reuben sandwich was. Seeing how people who like Reubens are used to a baseline standard. Not even sure if this reached a Dennys standard. If you like Reubens do not order here. Cole slaw is old and flavorless. Tap house down the street is better for overall bar food. But the the location and burgers make it acceptable.

Regular pub and sandwich restaurant in the front, but the 20 person Speakeasy through the cold freezer is exceptional with live music and total hipster vibe - special custom cocktail 🍸 menu with about 20 options (see menu pictures) and a $10 cover is added to your bill. It's totally worth it, underground, and apparently very difficult to get into. Filled with beautiful people, art, and a visually captivating light up bar. The staff and bar tenders were very friendly and loved their jobs. 11/10 just exceptional and a unique experience in the heart of South Lake Tahoe that's totally off the map, unassuming, and hidden. Just loved this!!! 😍 Thank you sweethearts 🙏🍸
