Samdruptse Hill, located in Sikkim, is a renowned pilgrimage site with a towering statue of Guru Padmasambhava, the revered Buddhist saint. The hill offers picturesque views of the Kanchenjunga and features the tallest statue of Guru Padmasambhava in the world, standing at 148 feet tall and plated in gold. Local monks consider the hill sacred and believe it to be a dormant volcano.
An amazing place to visit, with breathtaking views and a definite energy to the air. Taking time to meditate in the rooms is an important part of the visit, just as is the contemplation of the area. A must-visit, and when you get down the mountain, take a look for the statue standing proud on the hillside.

Beautiful place, well maintained, calm, serene, surrounded with lovely flowers and so much green! And the Buddha statue, massive of course but so different from how we are used to seeing him! Do not miss.

It's a beautiful monastery with a nice view of Namchi, and a serene garden surrounding it. The inside of the monastery is silent and peaceful and have spots for meditation. Great place for a bit of rest in between all the travel around sikkim.

A must visit place to visit in Namchi. The place is very well maintained offering mesmerizing view of the valley and Kanchenjunga mountain ranges. The final approach road is bit bad, they have adequate parking and eateries available at the entrance.

The statue of Guru Padmasambhava at Samdruptse in Sikkim stands approximately 135 feet (41 meters) tall. It's one of the tallest statues of Guru Padmasambhava in the world, making it a striking and significant monument both spiritually and architecturally. is truly a unique and spiritual experience. The towering statue of Guru Padmasambhava is awe-inspiring, both in scale and in presence. Perched high on a hill, it offers a peaceful atmosphere and stunning views. A must-visit for those seeking serenity and cultural depth in Sikkim."

The PROMISED LAND/PLACE ....a Promise to the GUMPHA that I will visit again... talking about Ngadak Thupten Shedup Dhargey Choeling Gumpha...one of the oldest Gumpha of South Sikkim, a little bit distant from main Namchi Town. This old Gumpha is very serene, calm and peaceful...an ideal place to correlate with Nature and Buddhism. The child monks to and fro, the majestic sound of bells and drums and the thanka works on the wall...all will surely transport you to another World. The old ghumpha with its dilapidated structure is well maintained and preserved...the new Ghumpha is standing tall....Surely Ngadak (Promise ), I will visit you again... it's my promise 🙏🙏.

Nice Serene Place. Beside the monastery, have the old structure of the palace that bears the sign of history.

It's a very peaceful place. The new monastery is a beautiful structure and the old monastery is preserved well. There's a big lawn above the monastery with an traditional Bhutia house or Chhe-khim behind the new structure. There's also a Shedra or monastic school in the campus.

Very peaceful and serene atmosphere. Beautiful monastery. Not crowded at all. I am not sure about the timing, please double check it.

It's one of the lesser known monasteries so you will rarely find a crowd. When we went some teen monks we're studying inside meaning chanting their chants. It was so peaceful just to sit there and listen to them.

Must visit if visiting Sikkim ! Namchi Siddheshwar Dham also known as Char Dham is a famous pilgrimage site located in Namchi in South Sikkim. The complex houses replicas of the four sacred Char Dham temples—Badrinath, Jagannath, Dwarka, and Rameshwaram—along with a towering 108-foot statue of Lord Shiva in a meditative pose. There are also replicas of twelve Jyotirlingas, making it a beautiful destination for devotees. This compound is well maintained and has all facilities . Pooja Archana is done regularly here by the pandits . The tickets can be bought at the kiosk outside and there is a big cafeteria inside as well . The main temple also narrates the story of lord Shiva beautifully !

Very peaceful place - it must be in your itinerary if you are planning for West Sikkim or Pelling Ravangla. You can see Chardham temples here. Maha prasad is available in the entry gate counter. Entry fee is also nominal 50 rupees per person as of October 2025 . I love this place.

Dear Travelers It's beautiful Replica of Chardham and 12 Joyortiling of Shiva. And we blessed that we visited this place on auspicious day. It is a very heavenly place with good vibes. It was very nice to walk around. Good vibration. A fair amount of walking is required and best to pre arrange your own transport to get there. The only downside was the restaurant, which was so disorganized and very slow. MUST VISIT PLACE AND RECOMMENDED FOR ALL. THANK YOU

Siddheswar Dham in Namchi is a truly peaceful and divine place to visit. The giant Shiva statue along with replicas of the 12 Jyotirlingas and four Dhams make it spiritually enriching and unique. The entire complex is well maintained, offering beautiful views of the surrounding hills. It’s not just a religious site but also a place of architectural beauty and serenity. A must-visit for anyone traveling to Sikkim
SAHIL K — Google review
Siddheshwar Dham (Char Dham) offers a condensed yet powerful spiritual experience, bringing the essence of India's four major pilgrimage sites and the 12 Jyotirlingas to the scenic hills of Sikkim. It's a temple complex located near Namchi Sikkim. It's high up on a mountain connected by winding mountain roads. The towering Shiva statue is a highlight, and the panoramic mountain views from Solophok Hill are breathtaking. While it can get crowded, the serene atmosphere and diverse temple architecture make it a worthwhile visit for both pilgrims and those seeking tranquility and cultural immersion. It's a unique way to connect with significant Hindu traditions in a beautiful setting. Big car parking in the compound. Tourist has to take a flight of stairs to reach the entrance lobby where the entry ticket counter is located. There are a lot of food stalls and souvenir shops in the complex. Very clean washrooms are also available for the tourist.

The Namchi Rock Garden is a tranquil and secluded rock garden located in a remote mountainous area, accessible by car or aerial tram. This picturesque botanical garden showcases an array of unique plants, trees, and flowers that create a celestial atmosphere. During the month of February to June and October to December the weather is absolutely fantastic to witness the sight and beauty of the garden.

I love that place very peaceful and amazing view
Deependra S — Google review
It's a very good garden. It has very nice view. Wonderful waterfall. It has well developed path way for the visitors to reach peak or the waterfalls. Its also well maintained. But that's not enough. You can find plastic bottles and other garbage in the water fall. Cleanliness should be improved further and at the same times visitors should also be more careful on keeping it clean and plastic free.
Vishal P — Google review
So unfortunate that a project like this, inaugurated about 20 years ago, lies in ruins today! Why is the state government not working to revamp the place?
Kunal M — Google review
It will be a very good place to spend time with people close to you in near future. I was there in April 2018 but it was still under construction most of its parts were not completely developed. Maybe they have started it in advance to generate some additional revenue . To reach the place a cable car is taken near Samdruptse and the car descends down to the garden . I realised that it was too big but not work was not complete . More than rock garden it was a flower garden made on rocks . It's not at all like the one in Chandigarh . I would only suggest you to be there after the work is complete.
Apekshit M — Google review
Beautiful park with lots of flowers. A small ride from Namchi ropeway takes you here. You can roam around for a while before taking the return journey on the ropeway.
Sumit A — Google review
Well organized park with beautiful and wide variety of greenery. Colorful with flowers of several varieties. Garden is on a slope with several steps. Didn't see wheelchair accessible pathways. One can reach the garden from road or taking the rope way from Samdruptse. The rope from Samdruptse parking lot costed us Rs. 520 for 3. As far as i remember, 5+ would need full fare.
Rajarshi S — Google review
The Rock garden covers a huge area. As the name explains everything , it is a garden on the rocks of the mountain. It is so beautifully created. One must has to climb up to roam the whole garden. It is one of the local sight seen , Gangtok.

Rose Garden Solophok is a captivating destination located about 5 kilometers from Namchi. The main attraction here is the 108-foot temple housing an impressive 78-foot statue of Lord Shiva in a seated posture, along with replicas of the twelve Jyotirlingas. This makes it a must-visit for devotees of Shiva. Additionally, the garden boasts various species of roses and offers stunning views of mountains and valleys, making it popular among nature lovers and photography enthusiasts alike.
The Rose Garden in Solophok, Namchi, is a place many tourists tend to miss, but it truly deserves a spot on your travel list—especially if you're planning a visit to Siddheswar Dham. Located conveniently along the route to the Dham, the garden offers a quiet and colorful retreat. It’s best to visit the garden in the afternoon or early evening before heading up for darshan, as it usually closes by the time people return from the temple, especially during winters when it gets dark early. The entry ticket is ₹50 per person, which is very reasonable considering what you get to witness inside. The garden is home to over 50 beautiful and bold varieties of roses—from the regular red and pink to some rare and stunning ones like yellow, violet, and even black roses. It’s honestly surprising and delightful to see black and violet roses up close—they’re not something you come across every day. Apart from roses, you’ll also spot other flowers like marigolds, dahlias, chrysanthemums, and even a small section with a licorice plant. It’s a dream for plant lovers and nature photographers. One of the best parts of the garden is how thoughtfully it's laid out. Benches are placed throughout the park, and some are in the perfect spots to sit and relax while enjoying the view of the misty Himalayan mountains stretching out in the distance. The cool breeze that blows through the garden makes it feel calm and refreshing, especially in the evenings. Whether you're a tourist or a local just looking to unwind, the peaceful vibe here really helps you disconnect from the noise and stress. At the entrance of the garden, there’s also a small café and garden restaurant where you can grab a cup of hot tea or coffee and enjoy some light snacks. Although I didn’t eat there personally, it looked like a neat and cozy spot to sit and enjoy the view. For plant lovers, the garden also has its own nursery with potted plants available for sale. From common decorative plants to more exotic species, they are well-labeled and priced reasonably. It’s a great place if you wish to take back a green souvenir from Namchi. The garden is very well maintained, and it's clear that care is taken to keep it clean and beautiful. Staff members patrol the area to ensure visitors respect the rules, especially the one about not plucking flowers—which is strictly prohibited. That said, it’s a joy to walk the pathways lined with floral beds and motivational quotes, all while being surrounded by the sounds and sights of nature. All in all, the Rose Garden at Solophok is a peaceful and colorful retreat that gives you a break from the usual sightseeing. It’s a must-visit for those who love nature, flowers, or simply want to relax in a beautiful setting.
Ronit G — Google review
We visited the Rose Garden solely for a brief visit, not for an extended stay; the garden was quite lovely and beautiful. They have a vast collection of roses and other flowers. Additionally, they have their own restaurant, allowing visitors to spend some time there. We purchased a rose plant from that location.

Visited Rose Garden on April 23rd, 2023. It’s a huge garden. At every corner of the garden, you will find various roses. The entire garden is very colorful. There are places for sit and chillout. There is one restaurant as well where your can grab some refreshments. Overall it’s a good place to visit during your Namchi, Sikkim trip.
Deepnath D — Google review
Located inside Rose Garden spread over 2 floors with both outdoor and indoor seating. Outdoor seating offers grand view of the mountain.Service is professional and courteous. Food is average and expensive by local standard. Pork options are limited. Can improve on hygiene.
Hirak D — Google review
It's near the town about 3kms uphill. There isn't much to look at this place but it's well maintained & also free of crowd & noises. The best time to visit is April & May but I had visited on November & there was a pretty amount of flowers. You can have a good photo session over here & the scene is also beautiful. For the entry fees it will cost you ₹50 & there's a parking space at the entrance. There's also a Restaurant inside this place with good food, good setup & at an affordable rate. Enjoyed.

Serdup Choling Monastery, located in Namchi, was established in 1967 by Serdup Dungzin Jigme Wangchuk Rinpoche and Khachoed Tulku Dudjom Dorjee. The monastery offers a mesmerizing view of Mount Kanchenjunga and is surrounded by lush greenery, creating a serene and tranquil atmosphere for visitors. The presence of Buddhist monks and the fluttering prayer flags add to the peaceful ambiance.
Serdup Choling Monastery is a truly special place to visit in Sikkim, India. It's not as well-known as some other monasteries, which makes it even more peaceful and quiet. If you're looking to get away from the noise and find some calm, this is the perfect spot. The monastery is located on a high hill, surrounded by green mountains and clear skies. The drive to get there is an adventure in itself, with winding roads and beautiful scenery. When you arrive, the first thing you'll notice is the amazing view. You can see the whole valley below, and on a clear day, the snow-capped mountain peaks look magnificent in the distance. The atmosphere at Serdup Choling is incredibly serene. The air feels fresh, and the only sounds are the gentle wind and the flapping of countless colorful prayer flags. These flags are everywhere, carrying prayers on the breeze. It’s a very spiritual and calming sight. The building itself is a great example of traditional Tibetan architecture. It's painted in bright, beautiful colors with intricate designs on the walls and doors. Inside the main prayer hall, there is a large, golden statue of the Buddha, which is very impressive. The walls are covered with beautiful murals that tell stories from Buddhist teachings. You can sit quietly and take in the beauty of the artwork, or just meditate for a few moments. During your visit, you might see the monks who live and study here. Sometimes, you can hear their low chanting, which adds to the peaceful feeling of the place. Everyone is very welcoming, and it's a wonderful opportunity to learn a little about their way of life. A few tips for your visit: Remember to dress respectfully by covering your shoulders and knees. It's also important to speak in a low voice and be mindful of the monks and other visitors who might be praying. Serdup Choling Monastery is more than just a tourist spot; it's a place that feels full of positive energy. It’s a must-visit for anyone who wants to experience a moment of peace and a glimpse into the rich culture of Sikkim.

The car cabin, although small, provides a thrilling experience as it descends from Namchi Monastery to Namchi Rock Garden. With a total length of 7.2 KM, the round trip takes about 20 minutes and costs around Rs. 150 per person plus tax.
From start point to Rock Garden, it takes about 10 minutes costing rs 150 per head plus tax. Well maintained and efficiently run. Views of the towns and valleys are excellent Although they offer one way trip to Rock garden it is advisable to take return trip so that members of the group can swap sides to get decent view. Car cabin is small and seats four adults.

An awesome day to remember. Reasonable price and wonderful experience. They took Rs. 480 for both going and coming in this Ropeway. There is a stoppage after 4 to 4.2 KM. Then again you have to seat in another cabin. The total length is 7.2 KM so all total it's 14.4 KM of Ropeway Experience which is enough to give thrilling experience to all.

Great place. One way to Rock Garden it takes nearly 9 minutes. As of now the charge to Rock Garden is Rs.177/- including the mighty GST!!! Fantastic view. One should take the ride.
DV P — Google review
The gradient of the ropeway is quite steep. But one star deducted as the span of the ride is quite small. And, there is nothing special to see in the Rock Garden where the ropeway drops you.
Anirban D — Google review
Ropeway starts right from the parking lot of Samdruptse and travels down to the Rock Garden is highly recommended. Ticket price for round trip - Rs.170 per person (Rs.150+tax). 5+ children needs ticket. One way takes around 10 min or so. Heard there's a plan for extending the ropeway further to Namchi bazar.

Very peaceful place - it must be in your itinerary if you are planning for West Sikkim or Pelling Ravangla. You can see Chardham temples here. Maha prasad is available in the entry gate counter. Entry fee is also nominal 50 rupees per person as of October 2025 . I love this place.

The Char Dham Yatra was an incredible and deeply moving experience. Visiting the sacred sites of Badrinath, Dwarka, Puri, and Rameswaram offered a powerful connection to India's spiritual heritage. Each destination held its unique charm and left a lasting impression. While the journey was demanding, the spiritual fulfillment gained from the darshan and the overall atmosphere of devotion made it truly worthwhile. A transformative pilgrimage I highly recommend.

THANK YOU

Namchi is a beautiful place located in the Indian state of Sikkim. The Central Park in Namchi is a place of tourist attraction with plants and water fountain in the middle. The park is a great place for a stroll and evening walk. There is a small market around the central park. On a clear day one can see the Kanchenjunga peak from there. We had wonderful time in the central park area, went several cafes in the area and also did lots of shopping. Do visit this place if you are in Namchi.
