Nestled within rugged cliffs, Calanque de Figuerolles is a picturesque cove offering a tranquil pebble beach and a nearby restaurant. A circular hike from La Ciotat provides an opportunity to admire this beautiful site and enjoy breathtaking views from the top of Cap Canaille, Europe's highest sea cliff. The area showcases unique conglomerate rocks, distinct from the limestone found in other Provence massifs.
Easily accessible by bus. A short walk from the bus stop and you already have the most beautiful views known to man. Clear water and a nice place to swim. I recommend going here in March- April or in October-November, because it's not that warm then, but you can still swim. In the summer the heat is unbearable.
Pepijn M — Google review
Magnificent view and easy access. I went early before the sunrise and I got a free parking till 9am and I enjoyed the Calanque all by myself😍
Catherine M — Google review
Worth the hike for 30 minutes, wonderful day
Rafael R — Google review
Just beautiful. You need to be there very early to park…there is a car park but we saw people double parking which would make it hard to get out. Better to get one of the end spaces on the road. These are still paid we believe, we paid anyway! Charges are expensive but worth it for the beach and view. Water shoes are a must. Beautiful bay for swimming. Steep walk back up.
Kate I — Google review
This is my favorite place to go. I used to go there when I was little. It's far from the other beach but man the water is clear, not too crowded and when it's hot that's the place. You'll also find a small restaurant there to catch a drink or more.
Amel D — Google review
Medium sized calanque made out of interesting brown mud and stone. This, along with the prominant Rocher du Capucin hill that looks like a hawk/ dog head, makes for perfect photo ops. beach is busy in the day but fairly quiet in the evening when the sun disappears out of it, with rocks of differing heights to jump off of. Only downside is the pebbly beach gets a sheen of brown on your beach towel! Parking on street is ok, 1 hour for free and free after 8pm.
Nick L — Google review
The worst beach I have been to. No beach just stones and mud. Not much room on the stones. Will never come back. Weather was nice

Parc du Mugel is a stunning botanical garden located in the south of La Ciotat, at the base of the Massif du Cap de l'Aigle. It is renowned for its diverse collection of trees and plants, including bamboo, wildflowers, citrus, roses, palm and orange groves, cacti, exotic plants like bird of paradise flowers, cork oak trees, chestnut trees and aromatic herbs.
A unique experience, with an breathtaking view that can only be imagined, ( N.B : there are rocks on the beach, think about bringing water shoes )
Zineb G — Google review
Great scenic garden with amazing views. Worth walking to the top and also get a refreshing swim on the clear waters. You can access the water entering the park.
Carlos L — Google review
"A breathtaking landscape — completely different from the typical beaches of France. After the first cove, there's another one that's quieter and less crowded. If you go a bit further, you can sit on the rocks and dive into the crystal-clear water. The view is absolutely rewarding!"
Georgia K — Google review
Very nice views and beach areas but pretty crowded and rocky. If you can find a spot to squat you will have a good time. Parking is the hardest part once you tackle that you are set.
Sandra A — Google review
Unbelievably busy, paid parking but park was closed for safety. Could still go down to the beach but everyone was so packed close together we didn't bother. Nice to walk about the pathway and take pics but that's it....
Sarah — Google review
Nice clear water. Rocky shore but not busy. Easy hike through the gardens.

Chapelle Notre-Dame de la Garde in La Ciotat is a 17th-century chapel perched high above the water, offering breathtaking views of the bay. Constructed in 1610, it features a stunning gilded oak sculpture of Notre-Dame de la Garde from 1630. Historically, sailors would visit to pray before their voyages and leave ex-votos.
Amazing views, short walk but steep at the end, recommend going in early morning or late evening as to avoid the heat.

Gorgeous views a short walk from La Ciotat. Don't miss the footpath behind the chapel that leads to the top of the hill! It can get very windy, hold on to your kids and belongings.

Island
Île Verte is a tree-covered landmass that serves as a nesting site for seagulls throughout the year. It is also accessible by boat from Old Port during summer months. The island's lush vegetation provides a habitat for various bird species, including the seagulls who make it their home. Additionally, tourists can take advantage of the boat shuttle service to explore its natural beauty and enjoy a serene experience away from city life.
Wonderful island, all covered with forest. Spectacular views at bec de l'aigle and calanques. The passage costs 13 euro from la Ciotat, a bit expensive but the views really make it up to you. The island is very small, it doesn't take even an hour to make a tour there.
Kath C — Google review
I did enjoy my time on the island. It is a 10-minute boat ride from La Ciotat and costs 14 euro round trip. The coves are smaller than the ones on the main land. The crystal blue water is rewarding the time on the island. It's hot during the summer months, and packing water is a must. Parc national des Calanques is the best nature wounder in the region, and as I spent my last day here on the island ile Verte has a different vibe compared with the mainland park. The end story of the for this hospitality is to be left for the birds to be free on this habitat.

(Translated by Google) Île Verte is a small uninhabited wooded island, located in the Calanques National Park. It is approximately 600 meters from Bec de l'Aigle and 1.5 km from the port of La Ciotat. This island offers very beautiful landscapes of coves. The view of the Bec de l'Aigle, located just opposite, is superb. In addition, you can admire a nice panorama of the city and the Bay of La Ciotat. We discovered the island in April, during the gull nesting period. It was an unexpected sight with many birds nesting on the island. Île Verte includes two forts: Fort Géry and Fort Saint Pierre, the latter being the highest point on the island. The two forts have played a defensive role in the Bay of Ciotat throughout history. We can still find the remains of the blockhouses on the island, witnesses of the Second World War. It takes half a day maximum to visit the island. From April to October, shuttles operate every hour, in approximately 10 minutes. During the season, a bar-restaurant is set up on the island and welcomes visitors.

Beautiful viewpoints sometimes. Inaccessible to disabled people. (Translated by Google) A 15-minute boat ride from the old port of La Ciotat (departs every hour from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm in July and August), for €14 round trip (cash on the boat, no online booking), takes you to this small, verdant island that's easy to navigate, offering priceless views of Bec d'Aigle, the Mugel calanque, and La Ciotat. There's a lovely, shaded path that circles the entire island—it takes an hour to walk it all slowly—and a couple of calanques where you can sunbathe. To the right of the pier is La Plageolle, a very small, windswept cove in the shade even in the early afternoon, and Seynerolles, a larger, sunnier cove, to the left. The water was so clear and clean that we saw a starfish and a ray. At the pier, there's a restroom and a reasonably priced bar where you can sip a beer while waiting for the ferry to return. Definitely a must-see if you're in the area.

(Translated by Google) I recommend the trip to the Ile Verte de La Ciotat. In 10 minutes you disembark on a small pontoon, a bar at the end, then steps made of wooden logs, and you go around the island in 1 hour. 3 calenques allow you to swim. Therefore avoid days during the holiday or summer season as the few places will be taken. Charming and picturesque walk.

(Translated by Google) Just sublime 😍, I am won over by this little corner of paradise, transparent waters and fish by appointment, bring more pleasant water shoes, accessible by shuttle or canoe. On the other hand you have to arrive early in order to enjoy in complete tranquility. This day I I only did the Calanque de Plageolle, but I intend to return there to find out what remains. Moms, I don't advise you to bring strollers unless (if it is very light) or if you stay in the cove which is at the edge of the quay you can enjoy the only restaurant on the island that requires reservations! Unfortunately, we weren't able to have lunch at the restaurant because it was fully booked more than a week in advance, but the island is a little corner of paradise, and even without eating there, we were able to enjoy the place with a picnic and a drink upon leaving, with impeccable service despite the crowds. PS: A 👍 for the crew of the boat that makes the crossing (Original) Un endroit à faire au moins une fois pendant vos vacances. Plage Lumière in La Ciotat, France is a well-maintained and clean beach with good water quality. The area is regularly checked by police and guards to ensure the safety of visitors, including providing instructions to parents about potential dangers for children. The fine sand and child-friendly environment make it an ideal spot for families. While the sea temperature may not be very high, the shallow waters are perfect for kids to play in.

Located on the historic shipyard site, it offers an insight into the history of local shipbuilding. During our visit, we saw the permanent exhibition which traces the history of the La Ciotat shipyards, from construction techniques to the large ships that were built there. The exhibition presents numerous models of various boats. A model reproduces the shipyards at the height of their activity, allowing us to understand the maritime importance of the site over time. We also attended the screening of a film on shipbuilding and the history of La Ciotat, accompanied by impressive images of the launches of large ships in the port of La Ciotat. A photographic exhibition is dedicated to the baptism ceremonies of the boats and their godmothers. It includes the wives of French politicians and industrialists from the last six decades. Finally, a team of volunteers, made up of former shipyard employees and enthusiasts of the history of shipbuilding, answers all questions and provides a warm welcome to visitors. We didn't wait to get a table on the terrace overlooking the sea. On the other side, there's the street, but it's not a problem. The restaurant owner and the waitress are very friendly. I really liked the grouper fillet with linguine as the daily special. On the other hand, I wasn't a fan of the profiteroles, even though they're one of my favorite desserts. They were way too filling, and the puffs were especially crunchy. You could tell they'd just come out of the freezer.

It's a pleasure to see someone who loves their job and shares it with such generosity. A huge congratulations to the entire team. It's flawless, once again. We'll come back every year if we can!

(Translated by Google) The place is very pretty and the volunteers are very friendly, however, letting visitors and children handle and feed the animals without supervision is heresy and abuse. These are living beings, not toys. I saw people distributing bread, corn, and fruit in large quantities to rabbits (it's absolutely not good for them) and children running after and throwing terrified rabbits from their heights. Unfortunately, there were no volunteers nearby and the parents laughed because "it doesn't matter, let the children have fun and we were told that we could give food at the reception." Really, the donations collected in exchange are not worth it.

L'Eden Boat offers a unique opportunity to explore the stunning Calanques from the water. With well-maintained boats and knowledgeable captains, this family-run business provides tailored excursions based on local recommendations. The tour takes you through impressive coves surrounded by towering cliffs, offering breathtaking views that are perfect for capturing with a camera. Onboard facilities include a toilet, and there's even an option to descend into the boat's basement to observe underwater marine life through windows.
Huge shoutout to our amazing boat captain Mae today She was calm, super friendly, and clearly knows exactly what she’s doing out on the water. We felt totally safe and relaxed the whole time—and had an unforgettable day on our private charter. Thanks for such a smooth and beautiful ride! It was a dream day. The office communication was also very quick and clear which made booking very easy!

An amazing experience with friends and family. Not rushed. 2 opportunities to snorkel. Beautiful sites. The skipper spent lots of time talking us through the geology of the mountains and cliffs. I would do this again

What a day! For reference we booked the shared national park half day trip in the morning. First off the guide really made it such a fun day, lots of jokes keeping us entertained while also talking extensively about the history of the park we really appreciated. As for what to expect, I would not recommend this to anyone who gets sea sick. This is no way shaped my review because we had a wonderful time, just know the sea was unkind even on a beautiful day we saw some good sized waves. The only disappointment was the snorkel gear. All the masks were so worn you couldn’t even see through which honestly I was looking forward to using. Overall, this was a highlight on our trip would absolutely do again!

Cannot recommend more highly. Our captain Bastien was friendly, knowledgeable, and went overboard (literally—he took me swimming into a sea cave which I would never have done alone!) to make our three hour tour of the Calanques memorable. Incredible views and close up experience into one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been. A truly special experience.

We had wonderful time with Eden boat and Alain as our captain. We visited all the most beautiful places near La Ciotat. Alain, our captain, was very kind, attentive, relaxing and made sure our little voyage was as smooth as possible. I highly recommend Eden Boat and Alain. When I am in La Ciotat next time, I will choose this company again without thinking twice. I also thank Alain very much for helping us to book a roof top table with a tremendous, “oh my God” view at Le Crique, one of the most best (this is not my bad English, this is indeed one of the most best) restaurants in La Ciotat. Thanks again my friend! Until the next year!

We recently had the pleasure of taking a half-day trip with "Eden Boat", and it was truly an unforgettable experience. Nice, pretty ride. 3 of us went for a Sunset tour. $490 for the boat ride-30ft or so with Romaine. Clean, fast, comfy boat. Easy pick up. He was fun to speak with. The calanques were gorgeous(we had already kayaked to 3 of them). It wasn’t really sunset but was pretty none the less. For the price, maybe better if you have more people.
