Historical landmark
Porta del Soccorso is one of the smaller accesses within the monumental Porta Nuova. It is known for its stunning architecture and historical significance. This site, along with Porta Medina and Porta a Terra, forms a beautiful part of the area, offering visitors a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage of the region.
(Translated by Google) Facing the lagoon, this is how the superintendency recorded the ruin. This is the oldest gateway to the city, probably rebuilt on a pre-existing one by Philip III in 1620, at a time when the Duke of Ossuna was viceroy of Naples and Matteo Ottages was military governor of Orbetello. It provided access to the Burgos Battery and was particularly important during the siege of Orbetello by French troops in 1646. Currently in ruins, Adamello and the Alinari photo from the beginning of the century provide an accurate description of its original appearance. The author wrote: "A beautiful gate, built in travertine, it has a central cornice on the top, on whose external face there was a marble tablet with the inscription. It has two lateral spires... and the oldest of the current gates of Orbetello, located on the moat, has two lateral travertine columns, had its own drawbridge and its own doorway, which is now closed as the gate is no longer in use."

Beautiful catholic church in the centro of Orbetello!! Big church with a large square!! 🕍🇮🇹👌

This church has a surprisingly long history. It was first built in the 14th century then, through the centuries, was expanded. It's a shame that the exterior is not kept in better condition - it is in need of a refurbishment. Nonetheless, it is a beautiful piece of the long history of this small town.

Porta a Terra is a captivating historical site that offers visitors a glimpse into the past with its stunning Baroque architecture. This monumental gateway served as an essential passage for those arriving from the western lagoon, once protected by a drawbridge and guardhouse. Nestled in lush greenery, it provides breathtaking views of the surrounding lagoon, making it an ideal spot for tranquility and reflection.
(Translated by Google) Monumental door in baroque style. For all those who docked from the western lagoon it was the obligatory passage, closed by a drawbridge and guarded by a guardhouse, before having to cross the Medina Coeli gate, also guarded, which finally leads into the historic city of Orbetello . It is the most recent of the five doors, accompanied by an epigraph in the centre, and four heraldic shields, of which one is missing, located at the central apex, probably the most important in hierarchical order. (Original) Porta monumentale in stile barocco.

Feniglia is a stunning 7km stretch of sandy beach and pine trees located in a natural reserve that connects Monte Argentario to the mainland. This untouched beach near Orbetello offers crystal clear waters, wild nature, and fine white sand. Visitors can leave their cars in shaded parking areas and explore the pine forest on foot or by bike before relaxing on one of Tuscany's most beautiful beaches.

Beautiful sandy beach that spans a huge distance. Water and sand quality is very nice. There is sometimes debris from the trees and algae but if you walk a little bit you can definitely find spots that are clean. Parasol and beach chairs are extra ($) This public beach is very busy so it is best to get there early.

Lovely, long sandy beach. Early in the morning was super to walk. Later in the morning it filled up pretty full even for late June. I found a nice hill with a breeze to hang my hammock and enjoyed watching over the crowded super-hot sand.

The eastern beach looks nice, nothing more... Public parking is about 15min walk from the beach. The eastern public beach is far away from the expectations of a wild beach. I guess there's another specific access to the untamed areas of the beach. Navigation apps couldn't suggest anything a car can reach. Maybe I'll get successful next time...

👍 What We Loved • Endless fun for kids: crab fishing, snorkeling, cliff jumping — pure summer adventure. • Great lunch spot: the lasagne was a hit, and the staff were warm and welcoming. Reserve a table early. • Simple but solid facilities: clean toilets, showers (small fee), and changing huts. • Easy access: nearby parking and a short walk down steps. • Local charm: friendly lifeguard helping the kids, feeding fish, and keeping the vibe relaxed and safe. ✅ Verdict Feels like a locals-only secret spot — genuine, charming, and full of character. A perfect alternative to the more touristy sandy beaches nearby. Highly recommended!

Amazing rocky beach, easy access, free parking within 400 m. 20 euro for half day sun umbrella and 2 sun beds: great price. The water was crystal clear. Services: shower, changing room, toilet, cute restaurant. Good customer service. Good food at the bar/ restaurant.

Super charming stony beach well known because of James Bond being filmed there. A bit tricky access with small kids as you need to climbe the stairs but once there, you dont wanna leave the place.

Great swim spot good visibility and aquatic life. You can sit on the rocks or at the bar for free but to use the chairs it's 28 euros person even if you arrive mid day. Young and local crowd

We were here for soms cocktails and the sunset. We just sat at the bar and enjoyed the wonderful place. What a calm, great place. Surely worth a visit. By the way, these cocktails actualy contain alcohol unless other places where you think you drink lemonade ;-)

Perfect beach club, The service was excellent, and the facilities included showers, bathrooms, changing rooms, and a restaurant/café. The water was crystal clear—ideal for snorkeling with a scuba mask—and there were cliffs for jumping. The cost was €40 for two sunbeds with an umbrella

Nestled in the heart of Tuscany, Ai Delfini is a fantastic camper stop that truly captures the essence of Italian charm. This beloved destination offers an idyllic parking spot beneath towering pine trees, providing stunning views of a nearby natural reserve. While it’s best to visit outside the high season for a more tranquil experience, evenings here come alive with vibrant energy. Food lovers will delight in the on-site fish restaurant and lively bar, where you can savor delicious cocktails and traditional "aperitivi.

Great camper stop, my favourite in Tuscany, maybe try and avoid high season, best parking place under the pine trees overlooking the natural reserve, great fish restaurant, nice bar, lively atmosphere especially during evenings. There's no market but the butcher, the cheese van, the fish monger and the green grocer come in to sell their local food, very convenient and very yummy food.

Worst place to stay on the coast. Not well maintenant, terrible smell and they gonna charge you for everything facilities access. 10€ to dump grey water. Drive a bit further, you deserve better
Alexandre C — Google review
Worst campsite in the area. The sanitary installations are dirty. There is no soap and no toilettpaper. They claim "hot water costs 1€" and "the time stops when you stopp the water" but the reality is different. There is no water at all when you don't insert a coin and the time continues even when the water is off. At the beach one member of the staff told me that an umbrella plus two loungers cost 13€ for one day. At the reception they told me that it would cost 20€ because of the time. It was 3:40 pm. The price for a stay on this campsite is 1,50€ a day. That means the use of the umbrella and the two loungers costs more than half of the daily stay here. This is the worst campsite in Italy I was in my life. Stay away!

Nestled atop a hill, the Roman Town of Cosa offers visitors a captivating glimpse into ancient history. This archaeological site features impressive ruins, including a forum and temple, alongside a museum showcasing excavated artifacts that tell the story of this once-thriving settlement. A visit here is not just educational; it’s an immersive experience where you can wander through partially unearthed structures and feel the weight of centuries past.
Not an ordinary place by any means. This is anything but Roman Town. It is megalitic marvel. Build by unknown ancient technology completely misunderstood by academia and people. COSA has minblowing 300 m long megalitic wall comparable to Sascayhuaman in Peru. Wall build thousands of years before romans existed. I don't even care about about archeological museum uphill...

Incredible Roman settlement from 300 BC with amazing views on the sea. Find the access to the ancient water reservoir, quite an impressive vaulted space! There is also a small but interesting archeological museum you should pay a visit to, remarkable sculptures and Roman objects found on the site.

If you are in the area a great educational stop. Walk among the ancient ruins that have been partially excavated. The cost for the museum is only 2€ and well worth it to get a better history of the site. In early October we had the place almost entirely to ourselves. The descriptions of the various areas are in several languages including English. Very informative. The sense of history is immense and you can get a feeling for what it was like to live in the BCE.

Amazing how this city shows a highly advance engineering in construction and water management. There are many reservoirs, channels and also terracota pipes that shows how important was the rain water for the survival. I was in shock when I first saw the pattern in the walls very similar to the ones in Machu Picchu and Tihuanaco in Perú.

Nestled in the serene waters of a tranquil lagoon, the Ancient Spanish Mill stands as a captivating remnant of history. Once part of a series of nine windmills constructed by the Spanish, this charming structure is now the last one remaining. Its picturesque location near Monte Argentario offers stunning views, especially at sunset when the atmosphere transforms into something magical. While it may show signs of wear and tear, with a little imagination you can envision its former grandeur.
Good big parking on both sides of the pass, no place for beach/swim and water here don’t look good. mill itself stays on water and not accessible without boot, anyhow it’s size is like a garage for a car ;-)
Kamil N — Google review
This is the last remaining windmill of the 9 that were built here by the Spanish. Like so many beautiful pieces of history here, this windmill could use some work on the outside. It needs a little imagination to picture how grand it must have once been. The best time to see it is at sunset - you'll get a great experience.

Except it‘s 1800km away, this Beach reminds me very much of the German Baltic Sea. Great pine Wood offering shadow and shelter from the wind. Magnificent clean sea and sand. You can easily get into the water, because of the big sandbeach and the small descending entry. Even several dozends meters into the sea you can still stand in the sea. Therefore great for children or people with minor fear of deep water.. 😉 Of course you might need to walk a bit to be a bit more for yourself, but the beach is long and big enough so everyone will find his/ her Place. Great spot to enjoy the mediterran sea, if you stay far from the sea in the tuscany and worth some driving!

The beach is very beautiful and very long, not crowded, smart and friendly staff, precise and perfect bars and services. Years ago there was no paid parking, the bar with umbrellas and sunbeds was a quiet and natural place, and with the ladder you could reach the mouth of the canal. In recent years we have returned and the Etruscan cut seemed abandoned to itself, with rubbish on the ground, the smelly canal and the ladder interrupted for safety reasons. Yet we are visiting an important ancient engineering work, a canal dug into the rock to prevent the ancient port of Cosa from silting up. Today this important testimony from 2000 years ago goes completely unnoticed and misunderstood. It's a real shame: the area should be cleaned up and enhanced to make those who visit understand that it is not a simple seaside resort, but an area of high archaeological and environmental importance. At least explanatory panels should be placed and the access route cleaned and made safe. The reds that I prefer are the Grenache €18 per bottle, not cheap; Perlaia Syrah €8 per bottle and the Marteto (Morellino base) €6.50 per bottle. The Laurite is also wothwhile, a Morellino Riserva, but at €12.50 per bottle I prefer to go the extra mile and go for the Grenache. They also make two cheaper reds, Poggio d’Elsa, Sangiovese base blended with CS and Petit Verdot, not bad, at €6 per bottle and a cheap table wine called Regio for €4 per bottle. On the white side of the table they make two Vermentino, the Perlaia at €16 is an excellent white and the Vermentino Plinio at €6.50 is also an excellent white when cold during a hot summer. Then there’s a Regio white for €4 again which I have never tried. A big minus is that when visiting they are not organised for tastings, which I find ridiculous given that one travels maybe far to reach them but then you need to trust strangers like me for feedback on the wines. This is inexcusable. They say that they organise tastings but for groups and by appointment only! But then if you go to the Santa Lucia winery, just a few kilometres further north on the Aurelia, and which I also recommend, they welcome you with snacks and tastings of all their wines. I would give Bruni 5 stars if it were not for this in my mind not minor issue.

(Translated by Google) Wide beach, beautiful spaces and good umbrella-sunbed service but also the possibility of planting your own (I have always done this). There is a small shower that runs at 20cent for bathing/washing the dog. The wonderful sea. The only difficulty to take into account is the black beach: be careful in the hours between 11am and 4pm it gets really hot and for large dogs like mine who cannot be picked up it is something to consider.

Very few people in September even on the weekend. There is a long stretch of public beach about 20m wide between the forest and the sea. Many people built little huts from the driftwood that collects at the beach. Convenient paid parking with shaded areas

PROS -It is pretty much only accessible with car. -there are enough parking spots and it costs 2,50€ for the whole day; which is great! -Long, pleasant beach, with soft sand. -Not too crowded, even on high season. -Great for paddle boarding/ windsurfing CONS -No toilets!! So prepare accordingly -No bars, restaurants or anything (which is kind of a pro, but also a con if you get pretty thirsty/hungry) -No possible to wash sand off anywhere.
Gem - — Google review
Cheap parking but you can easily find parking on the road and walk through the pine forest Not crowded at all even during the tourist season. Great with small kids. Water super clean and clear. Shallow for a long distance and safe for small kids bc waves are gentle. Highly recommended.

Spiaggia della Fertilia is a hidden gem for water sports enthusiasts, particularly kitesurfers and windsurfers. From May to September, the beach benefits from consistent north-west thermal winds that create ideal conditions for thrilling rides on the waves. The gentle sirocco adds an extra touch of excitement with its light breezes, making it even more enjoyable.

Be careful on the north side, as well as slippery stones and sticks you can also find sea urchins in the water, going barefoot is dangerous. no toilet facilities or kiosk so it is unthinkable to spend the whole day, ideal for a quick visit and a nice swim, crystal clear water suitable for snorkelling especially in the morning when there are no waves or boats passing in front to and from Talamone.

(Translated by Google) The Orler Orbetello Gallery that I visited stands out as an authentic sanctuary of creativity, a space where the dialogue between past, present and future takes place in perfect harmony. Each work exhibited has been selected with a curatorial elegance that not only reflects a deep understanding of art, but celebrates it as an essential and universal human experience. The walls of the gallery seem to vibrate with a life of their own, thanks to the impeccable layout that allows each work to breathe, dialogue and assert itself in its own uniqueness. There is a skilful balance between consolidated masters and emerging talents, which offers the visitor a rich and multifaceted panorama. The true triumph of this gallery, however, lies not only in the quality of the works, but in its ability to transform the act of visiting into an immersive experience. Each room is a visual story, a chapter of a larger narrative that invites the public to reflect, get excited and even question themselves. The work done in combining aesthetics and innovation is also wonderful: interactive technologies and lighting designed to the millimeter create an atmosphere that enhances the work without ever overpowering it. It is a place that does not simply exhibit, but that educates and inspires, reminding us all of the transformative power of art. Ultimately, this gallery represents an exemplary model of how art can continue to be a window to the world, a refuge for the spirit and an engine of cultural progress. A place that deserves to be celebrated and supported. Sincere congratulations go to the creators of this year's paradise.

The owners are very competent and very kind, they take care of the exhibition space in every detail. You can find really important pieces and make discoveries of interesting emerging artists. Emanuela and Angela guide you in choosing the right piece for your taste and research, they also organize exhibitions where you can get to know the artists and watch their live performances. A reality that enhances the territory! (Translated by Google) We stayed two nights in this magnificent farmhouse within the nature reserve at the end of September. A very private, welcoming and romantic place, away from the daily frenzy. The price of the rooms is medium-high, but includes full board and the obligation to book at least two nights. If this might initially make you turn up your nose a little, once you get there you immediately understand that two nights are not enough to fully enjoy the experience: total relaxation, detox from technology, sea and nature. The hotel staff is very kind, clear and attentive to the needs of all its guests, in particular the culinary ones which are immediately asked for at the beginning of the stay. A fundamental and particular aspect is that dinner is served for all guests at the same time (8pm), creating a pleasant and convivial moment. Breakfast is free and buffet style (not too varied but genuine and good). Access to the three beaches is private and reserved for guests of the farmhouse, so you can enjoy a beautiful sea without the risk of encountering foreigners or crowding (shoes recommended as it is rocky). The Internet does not connect anywhere in the reserve other than a few lines on one of the three beaches or near the reception, but once there you completely forget about wanting to use any device. It was a wonderful experience and we wish we could have stayed longer. Furthermore, it is possible to enjoy the whole day even if check out is at 10am on the day of departure. Even a take away lunch was prepared for us at no additional cost. We hope to be able to return.

Tuscany is in our hearts, but this place is Special! He stole our soul, in the good sense of the term of course! The sky is bluer during the day, more intense and full of stars at night. The sea is clear and crystalline and offers amazing shades of colours. Animals frame an uncontaminated place... But places are also made up of people and Angelo, Graziano, Massimo and his wife make this structure even more lovable. I could write a thousand more things, but I hope one is enough... Thank you guys so much for everything! See you soon! With much love... Peace, exclusivity, good food and trained staff make you feel at home. To get there you have to travel along a long stretch of dirt road, therefore a suitable vehicle is recommended (Original) Mi sono innamorata di questo posto.
