Porticato del Brignardello is an elegant colonnade located in the heart of the city, lining the beautiful Piazza Marconi. It provides covered access to the cathedral and borders the parvis of the Basilica of Santo Stefano. This impressive basilica, built in the 6th century and renovated over time, overlooks the portico from atop its staircase.

It was financed by the patron of the same name, who did not want to pass by the church before entering the cemetery. (Translated by Google) Right next to the left side of Piazza Marconi where the Basilica of Santo Stefano overlooks, there is a beautiful work commissioned by the wealthy Nicola Brignardello who left a quarter of his assets, created in Chile, to build a portico with an overlying terrace for public use. Legend has it that the well-known lavagnino wanted to create a passage that would allow him to reach the cemetery without having to pass in front of the Basilica of Santo Stefano and had this portico built. The works began and ended between 1894 and 1898 The portico has one entrance to the south and two to the east. The portico space is currently used for cultural events such as concerts, plays, exhibitions and food and wine events. It certainly integrates with the square and makes it even more beautiful. Definitely worth seeing when you are in Lavagna. Highly recommended visit. Thank you For those who love Latin like me...... "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Visita molto consigliata. Grazie Per chi ama come me il latino...... Lavagna Lungomare is a charming and family-friendly beach located on the Italian Riviera. It features a small sandy area that is easily accessible to the public, with the option to rent sun beds and parasols from nearby private sections. While caution is advised near the creek due to health concerns, it's a great place for kids to enjoy. The water may not be crystal clear but is suitable for swimming. Visitors can also make use of public showers on-site.
Great spot for relax and swimming in warm water. Beach isn’t soo big but definitely enough for everyone. Sand here is black, extremely hot during sunny days, recommend flip flops. Water is clean and warm, sometimes you can see there a jellyfish 🪼 Showers at the entrance of the beach which is soo convenient after swimming in sea. On the side beach bar with drinks and snacks. Definitely recommend that spot.

The Basilica of Santa Maria of Nazareth, located in the heart of Sestri Levante, is a 17th-century church that showcases an array of Baroque paintings and features a striking wooden Pieta by Anton Maria Maragliano. Nearby, the Church of the Immaculate Conception, constructed in medieval style in 1688 near the Bay of Silence, houses an 18th-century statue of the Immaculate and religious paintings by Domenico Fiasella.
This is a lovely Church in the centre of the old village of Sestri Levante. According to its history, it was opened 1604. Beautiful setting and an example of understated Renaissance style. Wheelchair friendly and suitable for all ages. There's limited parking spaces opposite the church or street parking. It's not as magnificent looking from the outside but once inside your senses are certainly provoking calmness. Very friendly and welcoming parishioners who mind this Cathedral. It's easily accessible on foot from the train station. This is not too far from the famous Bay of Silence (Baia del Silenzio). Lovely church in a beautiful town.

(Translated by Google) I really enjoyed visiting the Basilica of Sestri Levante. It is located in the historic center of the city. It is an imposing white building, easily spotted. Starting from the main square, walking a short distance you will find the Basilica of Santa Maria di Nazareth, dating back to the 17th century, when the small village decided to expand and take the form it has today . However, the facade as we see it now dates from 1837-1840 and was built in a neoclassical style, refined and linear, as was the art of the time. Only two bell towers remain from the original core, which, however, were only decorated later and therefore offer a very interesting mix of different eras. The history of the building is even older, as verified testimonies report that a chapel dedicated to the Virgin Mary was already there in 1368. I advise you not just to look at the exterior facade, but to cross the threshold and lose yourself in the splendor of the Interior, which also houses a famous wooden Pieta by Aton Maria Maragliano. I recommend this visit. I am attaching some photos. Please put a thumbs up, a smiley etc... under the review or photos. It's always nice to get nice feedback. Good ride. Eric Tison. F57 Féy (Metz. Moselle. France). Casa Carbone is a charming historic site that showcases art, ceramics, and furnishings from the 19th and 20th centuries. The house features wall paintings, 17th-century Ligurian school paintings, and vibrant terrazzo floors. It offers a glimpse into typical Ligurian construction of the era, preserving the domestic atmosphere and lifestyle of that time. Visitors can appreciate its unique details while learning about Italian history and culture through guided tours.
This venue is very much h open and worth a visit. The entrance fee was reasonable. The house is a reflection of it's history and owners, the last 2 being a brother and sister who donated the house and furnishings so others could see how the upper middle class lived in Lavagna. The entrance can be a bit tricky to find since it's at the back of the house and not the front of the house (the orange one). Lovely guide and some interesting details on the tour.

(Translated by Google) It is a house museum managed by the FAI, which cannot be visited every day, but only on weekends and holidays, through a guided tour of about an hour. The part open to the public is that of the first floor (hall, lounges, dining room, kitchen and two bedrooms) and the part of the ground floor, originally a garage, renovated by FAI itself. The spaces are quite narrow, so you can only visit in small groups. There are no objects of exceptional value, however it is always pleasant to enter a historic home, furnished as the owners wanted and where it seems that time has stopped. The small internal garden is also lovely, the only survivor of a much larger green area that surrounded the building, complete with an olive grove, which has now disappeared.

(Translated by Google) «It is the most important museum in the city. The container itself represents an element of interest, because Palazzo Rocca Costaguta is an architectural treasure: a historic residence that became the heritage of the Municipality of Chiavari at the beginning of the twentieth century. The palace was built starting in 1626 on commission from the Marquis Achille Costaguta who gave the official commission to the architect Bartolomeo Bianco. It was then purchased by the Grimaldis, the Pallavicinis, and finally in 1903 by Giuseppe Rocca, who took care of having it renovated and modernized, also annexing the still existing botanical park. Rocca then left it to his fellow citizens. The main floor of the building, used as a Civic Gallery, presents a collection of art objects, local craftsmanship and textile wallpapers that are significant and characteristic of the taste of living at the beginning of the 20th century. The picture gallery of the palace is, however, almost entirely seventeenth-century, with paintings from the Genoese and Flemish schools, with artists such as Orazio De Ferrari, Jan Roos and Domenico Piola. The Baroque is present with some great names who frequented the Republic of Genoa and worked for the most important families: Strozzi, Valerio Castello, Grechetto. The Museum boasts a considerable number of "chiavarine", the famous chairs from Chiavari. One floor of the building is dedicated to temporary exhibitions." It is a distinctive red structure, striking for its unusual shapes inspired by Genoa's Mackenzie Castle, which in the early 1900s was a real landmark for those who wanted to build modern buildings with a recognizable style. Today it occupies two rather prestigious foundations, that of the civic library, which houses ancient and modern volumes, and that of the Musel Civic Museum, which tells the history of the city since the prehistoric era and partly of the region. by presenting many decidedly interesting objects from the excavations. We will note some very pretty old photographs of people and informative films on the evolution of the region. I am attaching some photos. The house was a villa, which at the time was in the countryside, less than 2 km from the sea. Now divided into three floors plus a roof terrace with a shared tower, it's just a few dozen meters from the Maddalena Bridge. The Maddalena Bridge is over the Entella River. It connects Chiavari and Lavagna and is 250 meters long with six arches. When it was built, it was made of wood and had 33 arches. It was dedicated to Saint Erasmus, patron saint of sailors, and was called the "Ponte del Mare" (Sea Bridge). The stone bridge was built in 1210 by Ugone Fieschi. It is said that Dante Alighieri crossed the bridge on his way to Lavagna and described it in the Divine Comedy, "Between Siestri and Chiaveri flows a beautiful river" (Purgatory, XIX, 100-101). The bridge owes its new name to the Chapel of the Magdalene on the Chiavari side, where the bridge begins. It has stood the test of time and is now accessible by car and on foot. A must-see. (Translated by Google) Bath a stone's throw from the pine forest, with a volleyball court in the sea, rocks where you can dive and an enchanting place with crystal clear water. You can eat from starters to sandwiches or enjoy an aperitif with friends at sunset. Average prices for the period and place, I don't know the prices of the stay. I recommend it even just to spend a day of pure relaxation.

(Translated by Google) We discovered this beautiful beach by chance. It stands out from the others because, for us, the location is special—there aren't 500 loungers lined up in a row. The staff and owners are very friendly. They accommodate their guests, and if you only want to lie on the beach for 1 to 2 hours, the price is reasonable. While at almost all other beaches, you feel like you're being ripped off.

(Translated by Google) Unlike the presentation of the bathroom which makes you not want to enter (lots of signs listing a lot of prohibitions) The aperitif isn't bad, a bit lacking in appetizers. No table service. Beautiful view of the sea. (Translated by Google) quiet, with bar and buffet. a little spartan. the umbrellas are too close together, there isn't even room to pass. the (cold) showers are reserved for seasonal workers and there are only 2 for the entire establishment, furthermore one of them almost never works and they are also a little dirty.😕 I confirm, the cold showers this year are truly indecent, one doesn't work and 10 minute queues form for a shower that lasts 15 seconds (Original) tranquillo, col bar e buffet. un po' spartano. gli ombrelloni sono troppo vicini fra loro, non c'è nemmeno il posto per passare. le docce (fredde) sono riservate agli stagionali e sono solo 2 per tutto lo stabilimento inoltre una di queste non funziona quasi mai e sono anche un po sporchine.😕 confermo, le docce fredde quest anno sono veramente indecenti ,una non funziona e si formano file di 10 minuti per una doccia che dura 15 secondi

Historical landmark
Porta di Ponente is a historical site that served as a border between the Fieschi domain and the Republic of Genoa. It is a part of the ancient wall that extended from the current location of the basilica. The gate features a distinctive shield on top, offering visitors a glimpse into its warlike past.
(Translated by Google) I love historical remains like that: little fragments of a warlike past. This gate functioned as a border between the Fieschi domain and the Republic of Genoa, and is part of the old wall that ran down from where the basilica now stands. It has a cool shield on the top.
