Baia delle Favole, located in the picturesque village of Sestri Levante, is a captivating destination with its peninsula dividing the Baia del Silenzio and the Baia delle Favole. The village is renowned for its art, culture, and fine sandy beaches. Riva Trigoso beach offers a glimpse into the village's soul as fishermen embark on their daily rituals, echoing ancient traditions.
Warm and clean water. The beach is clean and has free access to it. Toilets, lockers and showers (cold water) are available for free. For €1 you can shower with hot water. Umbrellas available for rent as well (€6 if I rember correctly). Everything is “slow paced” in Sestri Levante, but this makes it a really good place to relax.

Very nice beach with some sandy and some stony areas. Public toilets, changing rooms and showers are free, which is great. The water is warm and almost entirely clear.
Benedikt E — Google review
Pretty bay, but there are some digging works near the Albergo Nettune. Perhaps they are widening the beach with additional sand? A great place to play with dogs, and away from the heavy equipment there is plenty of space to bathe and chill. Sestri is a charming resort with lots of amenities and shops.

Nice view over the golf. The beach and sea are very clean. You can also find free basic services(showers, toilets, changing rooms).

Baia del Silenzio is a picturesque crescent-shaped beach located in Sestri Levante, Liguria. The bay features a sandy beach with crystal-clear waters and is lined with charming houses and cafes. Visitors can enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and beautiful nature of the region. The beach is popular for swimming and offers a typical Italian setting. While it can get crowded, it remains a lovely place to visit for families and couples alike.
a unique place where time has stopped....it must always be experienced not only in summer but also in winter walking on the shore of the beach barefoot ❤️💕❤️💕❤️

Lovely beach front, quiet but well kept. Restaurants on the main street and pricey, but head behind the first row or two of properties and the prices are much more affordable

Awesome sandy beach! Very peaceful and not crowded.
Akshay B — Google review
Pretty beach in a typical Italian setting. A lovely place to swim. Worth a visit! Handy to know-The beach itself has more rocks on the left hand side, so we stuck to the middle or the right hand side. Entrance to beach in the summer is restricted in the free areas (starting from June 2023). Once it is full you cannot enter. The beach in the other side of the isthmus,100m across, is big and free but slightly less attractive.

Our agency didn't abandon us for a moment, it found us a studio apartment in centre, the flight has been postponed several times, reassured and followed up until your return. I would like to add that Italy prevents you from returning but abandons you there, does not give you instructions on what to do through someone, so we are rightly very worried. heartfelt thanks to our agent Rossano. The Basilica of Santa Maria of Nazareth, located in the heart of Sestri Levante, is a 17th-century church that showcases an array of Baroque paintings and features a striking wooden Pieta by Anton Maria Maragliano. Nearby, the Church of the Immaculate Conception, constructed in medieval style in 1688 near the Bay of Silence, houses an 18th-century statue of the Immaculate and religious paintings by Domenico Fiasella.
This is a lovely Church in the centre of the old village of Sestri Levante. According to its history, it was opened 1604. Beautiful setting and an example of understated Renaissance style. Wheelchair friendly and suitable for all ages. There's limited parking spaces opposite the church or street parking. It's not as magnificent looking from the outside but once inside your senses are certainly provoking calmness. Very friendly and welcoming parishioners who mind this Cathedral. It's easily accessible on foot from the train station. This is not too far from the famous Bay of Silence (Baia del Silenzio). Lovely church in a beautiful town.

(Translated by Google) I really enjoyed visiting the Basilica of Sestri Levante. It is located in the historic center of the city. It is an imposing white building, easily spotted. Starting from the main square, walking a short distance you will find the Basilica of Santa Maria di Nazareth, dating back to the 17th century, when the small village decided to expand and take the form it has today . However, the facade as we see it now dates from 1837-1840 and was built in a neoclassical style, refined and linear, as was the art of the time. Only two bell towers remain from the original core, which, however, were only decorated later and therefore offer a very interesting mix of different eras. The history of the building is even older, as verified testimonies report that a chapel dedicated to the Virgin Mary was already there in 1368. I advise you not just to look at the exterior facade, but to cross the threshold and lose yourself in the splendor of the Interior, which also houses a famous wooden Pieta by Aton Maria Maragliano. I recommend this visit. I am attaching some photos. Please put a thumbs up, a smiley etc... under the review or photos. It's always nice to get nice feedback. Good ride. Eric Tison. F57 Féy (Metz. Moselle. France). Bonne balade. Éric Tison. F57 Féy (Metz. Moselle.France).

Galleria Museo Rizzi, located in the Palazzo Rizzi in Sestri, is a grand museum showcasing a rich collection of paintings dating from the late Middle Ages to the 1700s. The gallery also features sculptures, ceramics, and fine decorative objects by renowned Genoese and Ligurian artists. Visitors can admire sacred paintings from the Genoese school and even catch a glimpse of breathtaking views of the Bay of Silence.

Visited Galleria Rizzi yesterday. It’s a beautiful gallery with a rich array of art and artifacts. Our guide Alessia was extremely knowledgeable and even gave our tour in perfect English (to accommodate this American). I recommend the gallery to anyone visiting Sestri who wants to learn more about Sestri Levante and Genovese art and history. I will definitely be back the next time I’m in town. Thanks, Alessia!

(Translated by Google) In a beautiful building overlooking the Bay of Silence it is possible to admire the collection of works of art put together by the Rizzo family, whose last heir decided to donate them to the State in the 1960s, on the condition that they were preserved together in a place created specifically to welcome them. The first nucleus of the story is due to the Piacenza doctor Vittorio Rizzi, but the collection only became substantial with his son Marcello, a lawyer who loved to be paid in works of art. On the three floors that make up the museum you can admire paintings, ceramics, furniture and various art objects. There is also a journey to Calvario del Magnasco. Very low entry price: 5 euros. We did a visit accompanied by a guide, with whom we spent about 40 minutes. Pay attention to the opening times because the museum is only open in spring and summer. In autumn and winter there are only sporadic openings, generally for holidays. Google's hours are not up to date, so it's best to look right on the site.

It is a medium-sized installation allowing you to admire paintings such as "La Cuciniera di Campi (The Cook of the Fields), "The Marriage of Saint Catherine of Ansaldo" and "The Crucifixion of Domenico Parodi" . It will be a precious moment of sharing with the whole family, to then continue your itinerary in the historic center after having had your fill of art and culture. Breathtaking. Presence of a piece of furniture carved by Maggiolini. Before being a museum, the palace was the residence of the Rizzi family. It would be interesting to be able to visit more private areas, those of daily life. Very kind staff. (Original) Nutrita pinacoteca . Baia del Silenzio is a picturesque sandy beach in Sestri Levante, Italy. It's a popular spot, especially after the summer holidays when it's less crowded. The beach offers a peaceful and family-friendly atmosphere with calm waters, making it ideal for swimming. Visitors recommend arriving early to secure a good spot as it can get busy due to limited capacity. The area also boasts an interesting history and is best visited in spring for pleasant temperatures and fewer crowds.
Amazing peaceful beach, plenty of parking and lots of towel spaces. We came here during spring and it was the best stop place ever, the waters are very clear and clean. The day we arrived there were lots of jellyfish

Osteria Mattana offers unpretentious local cuisine with a modern twist in a visually appealing setting. The restaurant features low ceilings, great lighting, wooden tables, and tiled floors for a cozy yet contemporary atmosphere. It serves exclusively Ligurian cuisine and provides communal long wooden tables for a shared dining experience. Guests can enjoy affordable yet delicious meals while savoring the company of robust Italians and sipping on inexpensive wine. The restaurant's simple yet charming interior adds to its inviting ambiance.
All hail Mattana! If you want to experience the greatness of Italian cuisine, this is the place. Few ingredients formed to great dishes. Have the farinata as a starter, it’s typical and the best I‘ve ever had. We went there one evening, and had to come back the next. It was too good to skip. The staff owning & leading the restaurant are super friendly. Hope to be back one day!

We had a wonderful experience at Osteria Mattana! Tucked away in the charming streets of Sestri Levante, this cozy spot offers a perfect mix of relaxed ambiance and truly delicious food. Every dish we ordered was fresh and full of flavor — you can tell the ingredients are local and carefully selected. The seafood, in particular, was outstanding. We enjoyed the food so much that we ended up going twice during my stay — it was that good. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive despite managing so many customers and they made us feel right at home. Whether you’re visiting Sestri Levante for the first time or returning, Osteria Mattana is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be coming back next time I’m in town!

We loved the whole concept of this restaurant. The food was fresh, tasty, simple but authentic. Service was excellent, wine was great. We would 100% return and definitely recommend ❤️

You know it should be good when people are queuing outside and almost block the whole street. We were not disappointed with the authentic kitchen, fast service, great and fresh flavors. Some sound dampening materials would be nice to reduce the reverb in the room, but that didn’t spoil our dinner. It’s not the chill dinner you’re used to when dining out, but it’s an experience I would highly recommend.

Seafood restaurant
Balin in Sestri Levante is a charming restaurant located on the seafront, offering a delightful dining experience. The focus here is on using fresh ingredients prepared simply to bring out their natural flavors. The professional and friendly service adds to the appeal of this establishment. With an elegant beachy ambiance, guests can enjoy outstanding dishes such as steamed fish appetizers and beautifully presented fried mackerel mains with vegetable adornments that resemble embroidery.
We had an amazing experience at Balin. Everything was perfect from the moment we arrived to the very end. This is exactly what you expect when booking a fusion-style dinner. The veranda was beautifully decorated, with cozy lighting, lovely wooden tables, small lights, and plants, which made us feel comfortable right away. The food was well-balanced, using fresh local ingredients with an Italian touch and a lot of Japanese influence in many of the dishes we tried, like dashi broth, gyoza, nori flakes, and bonito sashimi. The chef’s background, with pop-ups in Seoul and Bangkok, was clearly reflected in the food. Each dish was presented beautifully, making the whole meal even more enjoyable. They offer a selection of natural wines, both local and international, all of which were delicious and paired perfectly with each course. The service was friendly, professional, and made us feel at ease throughout the evening. We highly recommend this hidden gem in Sestri Levante!

We did the chef's menu and wine pairing and everything was exceptional. Service was great- explained everything to us and learned so much about the area and what is local to Sestri. Federico was the best. Would highly recommend for a nice dinner when you are in town. Perfect view of the sunset from inside as well.

Outstanding food and wine experience in Sestri Levante . A top chef knows how to match japanese and italian ingredients and traditions in absolutely exquisite recipes . Well needed wine pairings make it be the One in an otherwise so poor restaurant panorama . A little treasure absolutely to be discovered!

Such a nice place, we absolutely loved it. The service, the vibe, the music, THE FOOD, THE WINE. I’d strongly suggest to get the set menu with wine pairing. We tried some really interesting wines, our favourite was Licontro.
Pia V — Google review
Great food but think it’s worth mentioning I left hungry. I never left hungry after having a 6 course tasting menu, usually that is too much. Here the portions are really tiny. So perhaps worth seeing this meal as a treat and not so much as actual dinner.
A L — Google review
Balin is hands down the most creative and avant- guarde restaurant in Liguria. Sara’s creativity in the kitchen will blow your mind. Working with local produce with influences from all over the world, from Asia to South America. If you’re a foodie and you like good wines, make sure you stop by and order a bottle of Pazzesco with your dinner. You’ll thank me later. Bravi ragazzi!
Ugo G — Google review
A truly lovely dinner in an elegant beachy section of Sestri Levanti! The food was the star of the show, with an outstanding steamed fish appetizer and a fried mackerel main course decorated beautifully with vegetables that looked like embroidery. Both were flavor explosions.
Gail N — Google review
What an amazing and refreshing experience!! We had a tasting menu and wine pairing for two and we couldn’t be happier. Pleasant atmosphere, food prepared and presented in a modern and ambitious way, with influences from new Nordic trends. Great rich flavors and curated combinations, respecting local products and producers. You can see the menu has been thought through and designed with care. I would even dared more contrasts, given the solid base behind every dish, but I understand the context where the restaurant is located and the clientele maybe expecting more “Italian” mild flavors. Great service, listening, adapting and recommending right things, without making a big fuzz about it nor teaching any stiff lesson. Fell in love with the variety and openness of the wine list, from edgy French to mad Ligurian wines. Thanks, we couldn’t have been happier tonight.

A very nice beach restaurant with fine dining. The quality of the food was truly high. The service was also excellent. Thank you. I would put the tomato quenelle in the blast freezer for a few seconds before serving so that it doesn't lose its shape.

There was no indication that this is a gourmet restaurant with tiny portions, but the "pescato" I ordered for 22 € was really way too small, even for a child, and there was no garnish. So I was more hungry after the dinner than before it. If somebody wants to eat, not just taste food, you can find a better place to satisfy your hunger with the same amount of money.

Beautiful location, excellent service and delicious food make Mapi a must for a long lazy lunch. Each of us had a salad in particular the Caesar Salad was as good as any we’ve tasted. The desserts too are so tasty and add in very drinkable local ales I highly recommend Mapi.

(Translated by Google) I really enjoyed visiting the Fascie Rossi Palace in Sestri Levante in Liguria (Italy). It's impossible not to notice this palace when passing by! It is a distinctive red structure, striking for its unusual shapes inspired by Genoa's Mackenzie Castle, which in the early 1900s was a real landmark for those who wanted to build modern buildings with a recognizable style. Today it occupies two rather prestigious foundations, that of the civic library, which houses ancient and modern volumes, and that of the Musel Civic Museum, which tells the history of the city since the prehistoric era and partly of the region. by presenting many decidedly interesting objects from the excavations. We will note some very pretty old photographs of people and informative films on the evolution of the region. I am attaching some photos. There's something magical about Sestri Levante already. Not too crowded even during August, it remains a place I love to stay in summer. Tourists prefer to rush to cinque terre. You can choose to go with the small lidos or just directly dive in the water, and its quality is correct. I removed one star because during some days, the water is not as transparent as some other places. But overall, not too dirty. Just note that the sunset will not land there, if you want to see the sun set over the ocean, just go to the other beaches around.

Been here for years since I was a kid and this review makes my heart very heavy :( In the last few years, this Bay become totally overcrowded, dirty & horrible during the summer. You can clearly see feces floating on the surface of the see very often. Despite the fact of signs with restrictions, you can hear kids blasting music every time during the day and the night, playing football, using tents, smoking, leaving amount of trash around. The prices of the bars and restaurants in this area absolutely ridiculous and the quality of the food is absolutely mediocre. So sad and depressing.

(Translated by Google) It's a small, ancient church that incorporates into its main structure from the 12th century parts that were already secular. Dedicated to Saint Nicholas and located on a peninsula on the island of Sestro since the Middle Ages, it's a must-see if you're nearby and can skip a few minutes of beach time to admire the ancient spiritual center of the citadel. In the surrounding area, the viewpoint overlooking the Bay of Silence and the Mediterranean wilderness make for a delightful stroll. Nestled just steps from the beach, Xola Bar is a delightful culinary gem that beautifully marries Italian and Mexican flavors. Owned by a duo of passionate chefs, this vibrant spot offers an array of mouthwatering dishes like al pastor tacos and guacamole that are simply irresistible. The ambiance is relaxed and inviting, with simple tables providing shade for families enjoying their meals while kids play nearby.
OMG where do I start? This is the best meal I’ve had in 2 weeks (south of France and Italy). The cocktails were also really high quality. Best ceviche I’ve had (maybe ever?). If you are looking for a beautiful setting (simple, beachside, and quaint), this is the place. The head chef/owner is from Mexico which explains the amazing tacos. Also, they were so nice they adjusted the menu to provide a burger to my son which was also delicious. Highly recommend if you are looking for something other than pasta, pizza, or seafood.

What a great place! Every single dish we ordered was amazing. The ceviche was especially good. We tried some of the alcoholfree drinks, and they were delicious too. The owners are super nice and you can tell that they put their heart into this! We can definitely recommend it.

We went to Xola on our last night in Sestri Levante and what a fantastic experience. The food was tremendous and the spicy margaritas made by Luca were so good that you must all try them. We met Luca after and he was such a nice person, no wonder the drinks were so good. The fish tacos, Al pastor tacos and quesadilla had so much wonderful flavor. We ate every bit and the portions were not small. Thank you Xola for the great dinner and best of luck!

What a peaceful and lovely spot — simple tables, shaded from the sun, just a few steps away from the beach where children can play while waiting for their food. We were warmly welcomed by a humble, smiling host who led us to an equally kind and attentive server. We started with a perfectly mixed whiskey sour — true to the Mexican style and absolutely delicious. Our kids had a quesadilla and a hamburger — both of exceptional quality. As for us, we basically ordered one of everything else on the menu. Every single dish was exquisite. The food rivals that of far more expensive and acclaimed Mexican restaurants. The fact that this place isn't fully booked weeks in advance must be because it's slightly tucked away — a hidden gem behind the (with a few exceptions) rather mediocre Italian eateries in Sestri Levante. Go here. Eat everything. You won’t regret it. - family of six, including a baby in a stroller.

We went to Xola tonight for the third time. The first time we went for Sunday brunch. The Huevos Rancheros and the Chilaquiles were delicious! We were there last night for a nightcap. The Mezcalina & the Cantarita were very good. Tonight we went for dinner. We enjoyed the Tacos Al Pastor and the Quesadilla. For dessert we had the Tamal di Ciocolatto and the Torta di Limone. Both were excellent! Each time we went, the service was excellent and everyone was very friendly. I thought the prices of the food and drink were very reasonable. When you visit Sestri Levante, make sure you visit Xola! You won't be sorry!

Nestled in a serene location, Villa Ginestra offers an idyllic escape just a short drive from the bustling center of Sestri Levante. Surrounded by lush greenery and perched on a hill 150 meters above sea level, this charming bed and breakfast provides breathtaking views of the coastline. Guests can enjoy leisurely walks along scenic CAI paths that wind through picturesque olive groves and vineyards. The warm hospitality of Franca adds to the experience, making visitors feel right at home.
I stayed one night on the first Sunday in March. The B&B is located in a very quiet area, surrounded by greenery, about 10 minutes by car from the center of Sestri Levante, on a hill 150 meters above sea level between Riva Trigoso and Sestri from where you can enjoy a splendid view of the coast and where the CAI paths that lead to Sestri also start, passing through the cultivations of olive trees and vineyards. We had a very good time! The structure is small (it only has 3 rooms and during our stay there were only us) but it is cute and welcoming! The room is comfortable, spacious and super clean! Good breakfast, I just recommend integrating it with savory food. Added to all this is the kindness of Mrs. Franca! Definitely recommended place, good value for money

Bring water and heed advice in signs near trail entrance. (See last photo for sign that appears near trail entrance adjacent to cemetery). We accessed the trail from near cemetery to begin our hike - to right of cemetery - free parking here. This route is very rigorous uneven climb and requires good walking shoes or sport sandals. We took a different route down which took us to area near shops in town - see photos. This route was much less rigorous, but still a climb but many areas were not nearly as hard to traverse as trail from cemetery. We were not able to locate the entrance to trail that is just past Ice Cream Angels ( but returned that way)- see photos in case they are helpful.

La Cantina Bisson "Cantina degli Abissi" offers a unique experience by using the bottom of the sea as a natural cellar, making it worth a visit. The location is surrounded by beautiful vineyards and features a modern glass structure for wine tasting. The Abysses wine is a must-try. Visitors can enjoy affordable prices for excellent wines and food, served by kind and professional staff in a clean and picturesque setting on the outskirts of Sestri.
Newer winery, English speaking tour available, recommend calling ahead to confirm times. Beautiful cellar. Food is smaller portions and very good.
Sheldon — Google review
A missed opportunity I visited "La Cantina" on Sunday evening, Aug 10th, and booked an outside table. The location is splendid, everything neat and clean, with a marvellous scenery all around; large windows let you enjoy the vineyards even if you are sitting inside. And later at night, nice lamps form a carpet on your heads, making the whole really suggestive. But the staff was not equally welcoming. When we discovered that you can enjoy your dinner directly in the wineyards, we asked if we could move, but the cost is an additional 10 euro per person (and nobody mentioned when I booked). Not a smile, not a mention to the possibility of visiting the cellar, not a word on the "abyss" story: unintentionally, the confirmation of certain comic sketches on the poor hospitality of the Ligurians. We enjoyed the Glera offered as aperitive and decided to go on with the same wine, but the waiter didn't even pour the wine in the glasses. Quality of food was good, from entries to dessert, but when you leave the restaurant, the human interaction was so poor that your feeling is that of a missed opportunity to make it unforgettable. To make it worth a second visit, a restaurant must not be only a scenery for photo-shooting. Don't expect customers to come fully prepared, they also like to be pampered and accompanied to experience something new, and this regardless of bookings, timing and full Google documentation. And I am sorry to say that I was not satisfied under that respect.

We simply requested to do and pay for the tasting before the tour (especially since a group was finishing their tour upon our arrival), but we’re disregarded. No matter how good your product is, poor customer service and first impressions are vital.

A great beach to visit when the sea is rough as it has big waves to swim in.-not so common in the Mediterranean-and we loved it. The beach is patrolled by a lifeguard, so it is safe. (We went back the next day and the waves weren’t so big, but it was still nice. The only downside is the big industry further along the beach. We will go back next time we are in the area.

The Bagni Sempione beach club in the eastern Liguria region is highly praised for its cleanliness, particularly in the communal areas and bathrooms. The services provided are excellent and included in the price, with the exception of hot showers which work with tokens available for purchase at the establishment's bar. For a daily rate of 35.00, visitors can enjoy a cabin, umbrella, and two chairs on the beach.
Not cheap (40 euros for 2 sunchairs and one umbrella), but in the price you also get your personal changing booth, and unlimited free entrances to the toilets, and access to warm showers. Everything is clean and well maintained, the girls at the bar are friendly and always smiling (not so the lady at the reception, but perhaps she was having a bad day). Nice, soft sand, very clean water, and a slow slope that allows for around 20m until you're forced to swim. You can find good restaurants all around or take something at the bar - the prices are more than decent for such a central location. It's now our preffered beach in Liguria, will return any time we can.

(Translated by Google) I stumbled upon this aquarium quite by chance – I wouldn't consciously visit a facility that keeps animals in captivity. My impression on site was all the more shocking: overcrowded, algae-covered tanks, some of the animals seemed apathetic, and generally poor conditions. Many of the aquariums are far too small for the species living in them. The water quality was visibly poor, and some tanks were neglected. Not only was there a lack of space, but also of retreat options or a species-appropriate habitat design. What's particularly irritating is that the facility apparently doesn't see any fundamental problem with exhibiting marine animals under these conditions – on the contrary, they defend the concept with emotional arguments rather than facts. I respect voluntary commitment – but those who keep animals bear responsibility. And this responsibility doesn't end with the statement "we're doing our best." Anyone who can't meet the standards of humane animal husbandry shouldn't exhibit animals. In the age of modern environmental education, there's no need for suffering animals behind glass. It takes education, empathy – and the courage to leave old concepts behind. The water of the torbida, with evidenti di alghe e trascuratezza. Mancano spazio, rifugi and ambienti minimamente idonei al benessere animals. This is not possible, the solution can only be used in sports. The modern ambiente education is based on a small number of animal objects in the glass.

Nestled in the heart of Sestri Levante, Giardini Pubblici Mariele Ventre is a charming public garden dedicated to the beloved Italian singer and musician. This serene oasis features winding walking paths, lush lawns, and vibrant flower beds that invite visitors to unwind amidst nature. Families will appreciate the children's playground equipped with fun activities for little ones, while adults can relax on benches or enjoy the soothing sounds of a fountain nearby.
This is a pleasant little park here in Sestri Levante. We just came across it by accident, since the carpark (Sturla) was just next to. It's a nice piece of greenery. Lots of trees and lawn. A good number of benches to rest your legs and watch the world go by. A nice fountain, playgrounds for the little ones and even a merry-go-round. Also free public toilets on site. If you have small children or are still young at heart, visit the statue of Mariele, founder of the Piccolo Coro dell'Antoniano, to whom the gardens are dedicated. The statue depicts her with arms raised while conducting a choir... but instead of children, fish emerge from the water, singing with open mouths. The game to teach children is to feed the little fish by sticking a leaf into their open mouths. I assure you, the suggestion "let's go feed the little fish" will inspire great joy from that day on. The gardens are home to majestic camphor trees that drop rust-colored or red leaves. Pick one and break it... you'll smell the distinctive camphor scent, which is used in closets to protect sweaters from moths. Enjoy your visit and leave me a like 👍 if you enjoyed these fun facts.
