Vinoteca Centro Storico is a charming restaurant located in the village of Serralunga d'Alba, nestled in the Barolo region. The cozy and intimate atmosphere makes it a beloved spot among locals. As you enter, you'll be greeted by walls adorned with wine bottles and a handwritten menu. The owners, Alessio and Stefania, create a warm and friendly environment for guests.
The best tajarin al ragú in all of piemonte! Really nice meats also if your order prosciutto or the selection of salamis
Mathilde H — Google review
A traditional place with local delicacies. Very nice ambiance and excellent service. The owner is very helpful and hospitable. We tried the local barolo with a tray of charcuterie some vitello tonnato and a burrata with pesto. Not a complete dinner and we paid 40 euros per person. Unfortunately we visited the place on a very warm afternoon during a heatwave and there was no air-conditioning inside.
Chryssanthie P — Google review
Wow wow wow! Wonderful food on the outside terrace. Burrata, pasta with salvie butter and tiramisu to die for. Great wine menu and staff that is helpful and knowledgeable. Absolutely great experience, would like to go back
Linda T — Google review
A tiniest gem in the historic part of Serralunga, run by Ciccio, with top notch Italian charcuterie and pasta, and world class wine list of French and Piedmontese wines. A total must
V E — Google review
A must visit! Where do we begin. Over the course of 8 or 9 days we dined here 3 times, once for dinner, and twice for lunch. We can't say enough positive things about the legendary Vinoteca Centro Storico. We first visited in September, and again during our trip back to Langhe earlier this month. Alessio and Stephy are 2 of our favorite people in Langhe. They're kind, genuine, and have a great sense of humor. The food is consistently incredible, and the wine list is extremely extensive, with a huge by the glass selection, this is a must-visit for any wine lover visiting the area. The hams are hand sliced by Alessio himself, and are the best we've encountered anywhere in the world. Be sure to try the new homemade gelato, it's delicious! Be sure to make a reservation, because seating fills up very quickly, even for lunch. We look forward to returning very soon. :)

Absolute legendary spot for wine lovers. Deep wine list featuring not only Langhe wines, but grower Champagne and Burgundy. Food is excellent as well.

What a gem! Stumbled on this place by accident, but it had Everything a gastro soul would want. Alessio, the owner, was the best host one could hope for. Buratta, prosciutto, jamon, pasta, local chese and of course Barolo and Barbaresko wines!!!! Had 45 min, but stayed 3 hours. Highly recommend!!!

AZ. AGRICOLA Ettore Germano is a must-visit winery in Piedmonte, offering an amazing wine tour with a comprehensive explanation of their wines followed by tasting sessions. The main characteristic of their wines is complexity and elegance, especially the Alte Langhe and the excellent Barolo. The winery also boasts a beautiful location with a spectacular view and produces a wide range of white wines, including a personal favorite riesling.
Beautiful winery with a spectacular view. Next to the obviously amazing barolos they also make a wide range of white wines. Their riesling is my personal favorite. Must visit if you are going to the Piedmonte, don't forget to make an appointment.

It underwent reconstruction in 1340 and stands as the best-preserved castle in the province of Cuneo. The castle offers guided tours providing insights into its history and architecture, with stunning views of surrounding vineyards and neighboring villages.
Great guided tour in English (could be Italian). Most interesting history and the castle still has many authentic parts like the rainwater well, toilet, fortified entrance. Worth the visit.

The guide took us in the castle. She was very talkative. I got material in English. The toilet was weird. Men and women can hear each other.

Massolino: A Masterclass in Barolo Our visit to Massolino was nothing short of exceptional. I had booked a tasting of six Nebbiolo wines, but what we experienced was so much more. Valentina, our host, began with an in-depth tour of the winery. We explored the production areas, the cellars where the wines mature, the bottling facilities, and even the Massolino family’s private wine collection, with bottles reserved for special events going back decades. If only I were a close family friend. The tasting room was ready and waiting for us upstairs. My partner began with the whites, sampling the Langhe DOC Chardonnay and the Langhe DOC Riesling, both crisp and beautifully made. I was there for the Nebbiolo, and Valentina delivered generously. We tasted the Langhe DOC Nebbiolo, Barbaresco DOCG, Barolo DOCG, Barolo DOCG Parussi, Barolo DOCG Parafada, Barolo DOCG Margheria, and the jewel of the collection, the Barolo DOCG Vigna Rionda Riserva. Each Barolo was a masterpiece in its own way, with its own personality and structure. Choosing a favourite was almost impossible, though the Vigna Rionda Riserva stood out as truly extraordinary. It is yet to be released, but Valentina promised to hold bottles for our return in November, when we plan to pair it with the truffle hunt season. The estate itself, recently renovated, is stunning. The hospitality was warm, the depth of knowledge impressive, and the wines unforgettable. Verdict: Massolino is not just a tasting. It is a journey into the heart of Barolo, guided by passion and heritage.

Italian restaurant
Nestled in the charming town of Serralunga d'Alba, Osteria Tre Case is a delightful culinary gem that promises an unforgettable dining experience. This inviting eatery boasts a menu filled with both traditional Piemontese dishes and innovative creations, all beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. Guests rave about the exceptional quality of the food, particularly highlighting their exquisite Tajarin pasta and house-made specialties like black truffle dishes.
Today, I had the pleasure of lunching at Osteria Tre Case in Serralunga d'Alba, a charming spot in Piemonte that feels almost like home. The atmosphere was cozy, and I opted to dine al fresco, enjoying the lovely weather. My meal consisted of eggs with truffles, tajarin al ragu, apricot gelato, a glass of Barolo (cru Gianetto), and an espresso. Each dish was exceptional, showcasing the chef's (Marco Ruata) skillful blend of traditional techniques with modern twists. The high-quality ingredients clearly made a difference. I was also impressed by the delicious bread and focaccia. The recommended wine was outstanding, earning a 92-94 rating from me, and the coffee was equally impressive. The service was top-notch! If you're in the Alba or Asti area, Osteria Tre Case is definitely worth a visit. Note: I was deeply sorry for the waiter who had to deal with two particular foreign guests. These two young women seated nearby were causing quite a scene speaking loudly and making unusual drink requests like Coke Zero and a large iced coffee with extra ice and skimmed milk. Their comments about the menu and service were inappropriate, and they seemed out of place in an Italian establishment. The waiter, who is fluent in both Italian and English, had to patiently deal with their demanding behavior, which was likely stemming from unfamiliarity with local culture and traditions. I believe they were probably missing chain coffee shops like Starbucks.
Eduardo A — Google review
Charming restaurant with a warm and pleasant atmosphere. The dishes are carefully prepared and absolutely delicious. The wine list is extensive and well curated, perfectly complementing the overall experience. A visit that is truly worth it!
Carol R — Google review
Amazing food and amazing wine list. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Piemonte. Their poached egg with fontina cheese was unreal, the best egg dish I’ve had. Their tajarin with truffle was really good too. Everything was great and best of all they have a great wine list with good prices. Around the corner from the restaurant there is a tower/part of a castle, nice view for walking around a bit after dinner.
Daniela G — Google review
We went here for lunch. The vitello tonnato was great. The ragu was a bit too saucy for my liking but the taste was decent. The tiramisu was huge but very light. The terrasse itself was very warm with limited air flow - it would be impossible to sit there in summer.
K G — Google review
Delicious, classic Piedmontese food, and service with a smile.
D — Google review
We had a decent dinner here and the quality of the food was really good as well as the wine. Our only complaint was that several dishes were way too liquid for our liking such potato purée and tiramisu. I just think they were trying too hard to be different and inventive and they didn’t have to.
Larisa M — Google review
Well if you want to taste truffle pasta with very little truffle this is the place. Frankly the portion were ridiculous. Atmosphere there is none. Would not recommend and will not come back.

Mathias N — Google review
For anyone looking to experience the heart of the Langhe region on foot, the hike from Strada del Barolo and Great Wines of Langa is an absolute must. We parked our car at Enoteca Vite Colte and started our journey from there. The path is easy to follow and incredibly scenic. We walked along a narrow trail that took us through stunning hazelnut fields and vast vineyards, with beautiful views all the way to Barolo. The walk to Barolo took us about 45 minutes at a relaxed pace. After exploring the village, we took a different parallel path on our way back, which gave us a new perspective of the landscape. The entire round trip took us around 2.5 hours. It was a very manageable hike, even for families with kids or strollers. This trail is a perfect way to enjoy the breathtaking scenery, get some fresh air, and appreciate the natural beauty of the area. It’s an easy and rewarding experience that we highly recommend!

Rivetto is a winery located in Alba, offering the opportunity to sample its wines at the tasting room in Piazza Garibaldi, 2. Visits to the winery can be arranged by appointment. The winemaker, Enrico Rivetto, is committed to creating and maintaining a biodynamic environment. Visitors have praised the warm welcome and hospitality experienced during tours and tastings.
We were staying in Alba in one of the apartments belonging to the winemaker Enrico Rivetto (which are very nice by the way) so it was a natural choice to investigate his wines given his commitment to create and maintain a biodynamic environment. We were not to be disappointed, and spent a very enjoyable and informative 1 hour + with Biliana who guided us through the range of wines produced there. The Barbera d'Alba Zio Nando is absolutely superb and the Langhe Nebbiolo a close second. The location is also quite exceptional, with beautiful views across the Piedment hills. If you are in the area and want to seek out some top quality, and organic, Barbera / Nebbiolo wines then look no further. I would recommend contacting the winery in advance as there is only a small team.
Shaun M — Google review
Enrico is a fabulous host and his wines are iconic examples of the best of Serralunga. The harmony he's established with his land and the history of the place he's so fortunate to occupy, he shares it with every tasting and every tour. Not to be missed.
Sassi T — Google review
Enrico is the fourth generation leading Rivetto, and his estate sits on a privileged hill — high, well-oriented, and protected by a surrounding forest where he also organizes walks and truffle hunts. From there, he cares for his Nebbiolo vines and is bringing back the almost forgotten Nascetta grape, all while enjoying breathtaking views over La Morra. What makes Rivetto truly special is Enrico’s deep respect for the environment. He cultivates fruit trees, hazelnuts, rosemary, and vegetables, keeps bees, produces his own compost, rotates cereals, and enriches the soil year after year. Only a small part of the property is used for vineyards — the rest is a living, balanced ecosystem that reflects his philosophy of harmony between nature and winemaking. In the cellar, Enrico combines generations of knowledge with a biodynamic approach, exploring new ways to express his terroir. He experiments with clay amphorae (which brings a unique character to his wines), and uses oak from Slovakia and Austria to produce Barbarescos and Barolos of remarkable elegance. The visit was incredibly inspiring. Enrico took the time to explain every detail of his work and vision — how he strives to “do things differently.” From his hill, you can see other vineyards, and through his explanations you truly understand what sets his approach apart. By the end, you feel almost as if you’ve made a new friend, and the tasting is a perfect closing moment. To complete the experience, Enrico’s foundation runs a school where children learn, just like in his vineyards, that there is “another way of doing things.” This adds a beautiful, almost magical layer to the visit — it became the most special of our entire trip. Thank you, Enrico!
P S — Google review
Visited in November and we had an incredible time. It was very exciting to visit Barolo’s first biodynamic winery and the Rivetto family personally took us around through some sites overlooking their vineyards, through their cellar, and led a wine tasting for us. May have just been the time of year (quieter in November) but we had a private tour and it was very special to be able to learn so much from them in this way. The wines are incredible and these folks have an unmatched love for the land and the environment.

Pira Luigi: Barolo with a Beating Heart After 12 unforgettable days in Umbria, wandering medieval streets, tasting local wines and olive oils, our journey back to London took a deliberate detour. I have a deep love for Barolo, so stopping in Serralunga d’Alba to visit a producer I hadn’t yet experienced was not optional. That’s how we arrived at Azienda Agricola Pira Luigi, where we were welcomed by Tiziana, the warm and knowledgeable wife of Gianpaolo, one of Luigi Pira’s three sons. The Pira family has worked these hills since the late 19th century, but it was in the 1950s that Luigi and his wife Rosa transformed the estate into a wine-growing business worthy of Serralunga’s terroir. Tiziana began with a short tour of the production facilities, from the tanks to the barrels, then the bottle storage, before leading us to the terrace, where the view over the vineyards is enough to stop conversation. From there, we moved to the tasting room, ready to meet the wines themselves. We started with the Dolcetto d’Alba DOC; light, youthful, perfect for everyday enjoyment, then the Barbera d’Alba Superiore and the Langhe DOC Nebbiolo. And then, the main event: Barolo DOCG Serralunga d’Alba; elegant, complex, a true expression of its place. Barolo DOCG Margheria; structured, deep, with layers that open over time. Barolo DOCG Marenca; powerful yet graceful, the kind of wine you remember years later. Barolo DOCG Vignarionda; the crown jewel, a wine of poise, richness, and soul. Each Nebbiolo had its own distinct character, making the choice nearly impossible. Tiziana’s insight, coming from someone directly involved in the winemaking, made every glass richer with context and meaning. We left with six bottles, but only because space in the car was limited. We will be back in November, and many times after. Pira Luigi is not just a winery; it’s a family pouring passion, heritage, and terroir into every bottle. Verdict: A must-visit in Barolo for anyone who wants wines with both pedigree and personality.

Did a fantastic wine tasting here with our friends. The tasting was reasonably priced and the wine was delicious. We had a group of 9 and pre-booked. We followed this up with a tour of the cellars, with the owner being very knowledgeable. Would highly recommend!

Overall very good experience, wine and explanations. We enjoyed the story of this little family business and loved their dedication. Only thing I would suggest is to probably give different glasses during wine tasting. We tried 5 wines and all in the same glass which somehow impacted the taste

What a gem of a farm in the beautiful Serralunga. If you looking for traditional winemaking practices in Piedmont, you will find it here. Tiziana was very knowledgeable, talking us through the various crus where they source their grapes, the vinification process as well as their philosophy when it comes to the Pira brand. This family run business has a lot of pride in what they do and it shows in every glass of Pira you drink!

Great place. Warm reception from the Pirates family who will share with you their knowledge and passion of wine making. And I don't want to talk about the wine. Their 4 barolos are superb... A must visit. Must buy

Azienda Agricola Giovanni Rosso, located at the crest of the hill of Vigna Rionda, offers a unique experience for wine enthusiasts. The old vines, never trellised and seemingly crawling along the ground due to their exposure to wind and dry soils, make a lasting impression. Visitors can enjoy a guided tour by knowledgeable staff members like Matilde or Daniele who provide insights into the winery's history and showcase the cru vineyards in Serralunga.
5-start visit with Daniele who not only tells the winery story but also showed us the cru vineyards in Serralunga: the feminine Ceretta, the masculine Serra and the beloved Vigna Rionda. We then had a great tasting experience to see both the potential wines in the cellar but those finished wines in the bottle, they're like humans, full of characters and liveness. Beautiful town, great winery, excellent vineyards and magnificent people!

Today we had a great wine tasting here. Beforehand we had a nice tour from a great host. Everything was perfectly and clearly explained to the last detail. We also got to taste the wines directly from the barrel and the differences were explained. The wine tasting was accompanied by various Italian snacks. Thank you for the beautiful experience. Until next time!

Nestled in the picturesque village of Serralunga, Guido Porro is a charming winemaker dedicated to producing exceptional wines from some of the finest terroirs. Known for its stunning views over lush vineyards, this small and traditional winery specializes in Barolo, particularly from their prized monopoles: Lazzarito and Santa Caterina.
Welcoming people, excellent breakfasts, comfortable rooms with a balcony overlooking the vineyards, and, of course, splendid wines. We particularly liked the Barbera and all the Barolos.

Excellent value wines, from Dolcetto to the vigna Rionda. His wines from sub parcels of Lazzarito are called Lazzairasco and Santa Caterina. Both wines are elegant while S. Catarina is more feminin and floral vs the more masculin, deep and complex Lazzairasco. A treasure, to follow...

The Rossi Cairo family passionately upholds sustainable viticulture practices, ensuring that every bottle reflects their commitment to quality and care for the land.
Probably one of the highlights on a recent trip to explore the region of Barolo. We stayed in an excellently situated accommodation which was 1 min away called Casa Cucco (the host happened to be the manager at Tenuta Cucco).
