Torri di Fraele is a serene and picturesque destination located within the Stelvio National Park. The journey to this site begins in Arnoga village and leads to Passo Torri di Fraele, offering a pleasant walk along the Decauville path. The highlight of the area is the two towers dating back to 1391, which were originally part of a defensive structure guarding the valley access.
One of them is open, and there is an exhibition regarding the towers. The place is very nice, the view from the towers to the valley below and the road with the hairpins is magnificent.
Vlassis G — Google review
Climb by racing bike is good, but the road is pretty rough. It's not to long or steep, good for a easy day on the bike. The lakes aren't really worth visiting in my opinion.
Rick P — Google review
Two towers built around 1391. The towers were originally part of a larger defensive structure, aimed at defending access to the valley. Nothing remains of this plant, except the two towers, although in a state of ruin. The towers were built using stone present in the immediate vicinity and have a quadrangular shape with thick walls.
Andres D — Google review
Nice climb; not very steep and pretty even grade. Not so busy as famous climbs around Bormio. Nice view of hairpins.
Dinant K — Google review
Fantastic and difficult road to reach a view that is amazing. On the top you continue to find some restaurants and two lakes. The roads are gravel

Stelvio Pass is a renowned mountain pass known for its challenging hairpin turns, making it popular among drivers and cyclists. The summer months see cycling events such as the Dolomites Bike Day and Stelvio Bike Day, allowing participants to enjoy the stunning panorama of Stelvio National Park without traffic. For driving and motorcycling enthusiasts, this winding pass in South Tyrol offers an adventurous and exciting journey through the Stelvio National Park.
I love this road on my motorcycle. I set out at 6am and it was practically deserted. Climbing up at one point you go through the clouds and it was a beautiful new experience for me!! Once you get to the top the view is SPECTACULAR. I rode down again and up again!! The hairpins are lovely, I loved the challenge and will definitely do it again!
Peter M — Google review
Stelvio Pass is amazing! The roads are twisty and fun, and the views of the mountains are incredible. Totally worth a visit if you love adventure and epic scenery. Hopefully we can come back on out motorbikes😍
Martine A — Google review
One of the best alpine passes in the alps. Lovely cafes at the top, breathtaking scenery and a warm hospitality from everyone around you, as everyone will be there for the same reason as you - to enjoy this marvel of nature! If you are in the area, dont miss it. It is an easy enough drive from the 3 directions that lead to it, the hairpins are fun but theres lots of visibility around them.
Rose Y — Google review
We passed this place to go to Dolomites! Was a normal week day in June, but super traffic already. There is amazing, beautiful, worth to do it and on the way is a caffe, on the top is also full of shops and snacks, for turist 😁we jumped out ant hiked a bit up to the top. You can make picture by the symbol. On the way down was an incident, so be careful. Full of bikes, motorbikes and cars!
Ieva L — Google review
Went up today and absolutely loved it. My wife was a little anxious but we left early and had the road almost to ourselves. There were of course the early cyclists but not too many cars. A fantastic experience on a motorcycle and my wife absolutely loved it.
Sebastian J — Google review
This place/road is the “Mecca” for riders. If you ride a motorcycle, don’t hesitate more and just Go
Henrique ( — Google review
Breathtaking, there are not enough superlatives to describe this stunning pass. There are no photos that do justice to this magnificent landscape and the feat of human engineering that created the Stelvio pass road. Went up twice from the Bormio side by bicycle and found there was a lot of mutual respect among all road users. It will take a lot to beat the experience of riding the Stelvio. 9.99999 out of 10!

Expect the unexpected .. at 2.800 above sea lever the weather can change a lot .. having that in mind .. despite from Swiss side the climb is a bit hard .. the summit is amazing

Beautiful snow, beautiful white. It would be a great experience to snowboard here from end of November to end of April. Highly recommend to everyone 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Sophie W — Google review
Amazing service from purchasing the tickets to the self service restaurant to the top. We went with kids to enjoy the view and the kid's park up! Recommend for families!
Francesca C — Google review
A well-prepared place both: for learning skiing for the youngest and for going on various routes. And you must visit the plane :)
Sebastian S — Google review
In the winter months perfect skiing while in the summer this side of the mountain is reserved for mountain biking. There are few hiking trails but not as fun as mountain biking.
Irina M — Google review
It says open u til 5pm. Arrived 447 at the lift and they said they are shut already. It is misleading information - if last up is 445 then opening hours should state 445. Better half of the bike park is closed and half of the village is in construction this year… would recommend to head to sölden instead. Shame as the new lift would make riding much more pleasant without having to manoeuvre every time not to damage forks and frames.
Natalia N — Google review
Very, very nice Bikepark. A lot of Enduro and Downhill Trails. The expert trails are really for experts. The black-lines and some red-lines are very demanding. I love the Mottolino Fun Mountain and I‘ll be back for sure.

The resort offers a wide range of activities including mixed-level runs, off-piste skiing, a snow park, and night skiing opportunities. With slopes stretching from the town to over three thousand meters above sea level and an altitude difference of 1800 meters, Bormio Ski provides fun and routes for skiers of all levels.
You first get a pass and it gives you entry to all the lifts which is very useful. The food was good and the skis were in good condition .The bet time to go is early in the morning before the crowds so you can get your skis sorted and not loose time on the slopes! The instructors were very friendly and it was A ONE IN A LIFETIME EXPERIENCE!!!! highly recommended!!
Thea — Google review
Good place if you are intermediate, for beginners not so much to do. Red slopes are interesting, very good for practicing your skills. I liked the place. Ski pistes are well crafted - reds can be managed with blue periods so you don’t get exhausted to fast. Chair from bormio2000 very efficient, you don’t lose much time. Longest ski run I had today was 9km from top to the bottom, many options with 5km as well as 3km. You can mix runs etc. Prices sensible. 77km in a day, late March
Adrian B — Google review
A great ski resort suitable for both beginners and advanced skiers. There are many different routes to take, with well-marked and groomed slopes. In good weather, the mountain views are stunning – the kind you immediately want to share with someone. There are plenty of bars and rest stops along the way, perfect for a bombardino or aperol break while watching others tackle the slopes. Some sections are really great, especially the faster ones with panoramic views. :) (instagram --> michaelnae)

I am only a beginner but felt like there was enough for me to feel comfortable on. Lift.stafd were friendly and the mountain itself seems to provide a good range for people. All in all a great afternoon on the mountain 🙂

Great slopes for Beginner/Intermediate level skiers and very friendly staff everywhere. Make sure to check out Ciuk and Bosk Bass bar on the way down.

One of the best ski resorts in Europe, balanced price for value, weather decent, protected inside the mountains. Good food options and locals very open. Bus schedule almost perfect.

Best paragliding ever over Livigno! Very Experienced pilots. Felt very safe. I highly recommend this company to anyone looking for an unforgettable adventure. The communication before with Fabio was excellent. Pics arrived to email 12 hours later.

Nice views, good mtb-trails and if necessary the personal will load your bike on the chairlift. Be aware of the air slurping bicycle pump in the valley station (im shure it will be fixed soon :-) ). I then could inflate my tire in the nearby bikeshop. There are also biketools and a bikewashing station to use for free.

“A beautiful view at an altitude of 3,000 meters. The cable car ticket costs €21 per adult.”

Ski resort
Bormio 2000 is a fantastic ski resort nestled in the breathtaking Italian Alps, perfect for both experienced skiers and beginners eager to hit the slopes. With a diverse range of trails catering to all skill levels, it promises an exhilarating experience. The resort boasts two magic carpets that help newcomers ease into skiing while seasoned pros can tackle challenging runs from peaks soaring up to 3000 meters.
Central point of for all the slopes in the area. Good place for a coffee or something to eat. The prices are a bit lower than in 3000. The toilets are free. You can also leave your backpack around and nothing bad should happen to it. Enjoy.
Mateusz K — Google review
[RELEVANT TO 12/2024 SEASON] Do NOT go please. Majority of the slopes are closed because 1) they are getting ready for the World Cup and 2) there is not enough snow. So there is only one slope working that kind of opens up to others. Some parts of the only slope working are terrible. You cannot access Bormio 3000 with the skis/snowboards. Only pedestrian access to have something at the restaurant. However, the price is still €57 euros. So you pay full price to get 30% of the experience. So, unless you are happy with baby slopes, Bormio 2000 only or Bormio 3000 for the restaurant please save yourself some money and go somewhere else. It’s unfortunate really. As a side note. If you buy passes through SNOWIT you cannot see SENIOR prices. But for them it’s €10 cheaper.
Andrea S — Google review
This ski resort is an excellent choice for both seasoned skiers and those looking to learn, offering a variety of slopes to cater to different skill levels. While the resort features restaurants, it's worth noting that bottled water is pricey at €4 for 0.5L, so bringing your own could save some money. The facility includes two magic carpets designed for different levels of difficulty. Once you've purchased your ski pass, you have complete access to all areas. Despite being quite busy, the experience is highly enjoyable. For three days for three people, the costs were: €181 for ski equipment, €337 for ski passes for two adults and one child, and €55 per hour for individual ski instruction (or €65 per hour for a group of two).
T. M — Google review
Great spot in the Italian Alps to enjoy both winter and summer season. "La Stelvio" is amongst the best sky slopes in the Alps. Bormio is one of my favorite villages to have great fun !......during the night too !

(Translated by Google) A WONDERFUL!! I think one of the most beautiful valleys of Valtellina. We arrived convinced we were booking e-bikes to venture onto the trails, but once we arrived we discovered that no bicycles were available anymore. We had lost heart a little but we immediately changed our minds because the valley is wonderful even savored step by step. We went up from Baita Caricc and continued passing among the rocks of the landslide to then arrive at Lake Viola, recover with a coffee (cake and a delicious 🫐 blueberry grappa!) after the packed lunch and set off again going down the dirt road. Truly a recommended destination! (Original) Una MERAVIGLIA!!

(Translated by Google) Easy route even if really long. It is possible to access not only by walking but with the help of a shuttle. There are two car parks, so it is better to choose the higher one. That said, you will witness some stunning views. The lake turns purple, a union of the blue of the water and the red-brown given by the minerals present on the shore. The spa is divided into two main complexes: Bagni Vecchi (Old Baths), with a history dating back to the first century BC, and Bagni Nuovi (New Baths) established in 1836 AD.
A lovely spot that’s definitely worth checking out! Ideal for families and on a sunny day.I highly recommend it for their fantastic massages.

This is a weird wonderful place. We discovered sort of accidentally last year, and returned this year. My wife is already planning our return again. We love it.
Erin M — Google review
Nice, clean and enjoyable enviroment. Enjoyed very much the warm water swimming pool and jacuzzi observing fantastic view of snowy mountains in front. Isnt that cool? Lunch time went to the restaurant inside which is also accessible to people from tge street. So, I felt quite awkward sitting there with wet hair wearing wardrobe while others were dressed usual. Food and service was good though. Loved the experience. Recommend it!
Nataly * — Google review
Very minimal and simple, clean. But looks like too small areas and no control for how many people can stay at a time - we were not in high season but all places were more than full. Hard to even find a spot to chill. Only adults area is even smaller so too crowded, area for everybody full with children and grown ups, i mean full - no edge of the pools was free to chill. Overal it is nice and very basic, but compaired to other places - little bit disapointing :)
Gerda Ž — Google review
The pools are not warm enough to give the relaxing feeling a termal bath should, and the sauna is no different, more like the hot relaxing room you chill in between having a proper sauna session. The staff are running around and micromanaging everyone, in a rude way reminding of all the rules has to be obeyed at all times. Its not a welcome feeling. And considering the 50euro we payed it feelt like a robbery, considering how little you actually get.
Andreas U — Google review
Amazing and unforgettable, strongly recommended. There are several different pools with warm water, each one with different panoramic views in different floors. There are a lot of facilities for the families and their children to enjoy even for the whole day. In addition to that, there are also many different water message categories and trying all of them is really something. There is a semi Olympics pool for those who may feel the need of a bit more professional expectations. Last but not least, the covid measures are controlled and you have to have a green pass to enter.
Salman K — Google review
In the spa, there is only one finish sauna and one steam. A relaxation zone is put together with a playground for a children. There is an obligation to wear a cap. There is no pool with really thermal water.

Nestled in the charming town of Bormio, Al Filò is a culinary gem that transports you back to the 1600s with its stunning vaulted cellar adorned with exposed bricks. This restaurant beautifully embodies northern Italian cuisine, offering a diverse menu filled with traditional dishes featuring local ingredients like pork, rabbit, and deer meat. The warm and inviting atmosphere enhances your dining experience as you savor seasonal delights—during my visit in February, pumpkin and artichoke were highlights on the menu.
Delicious food, professional service and cosy atmosphere of the local. Best lamb I’ve ever had! Deserts were served with the finest touch. Everything was beautifully and appetizingly looking. This food spot cannot be omitted when in Bormio.

Al Filò's atmosphere matches the sophisticated food. The dishes are refined but not pretentious. I was grateful to get a seat and was accomdated last minute, so please reserve ahead of time, you won't regret it. My server, Andrea, was engaged with his guests and had a warm demeanor, and was knowledgeable about the food. He recommended the dishes I ordered, and it was superb.

Ristorante Vecchia Combo is a cozy spot that offers a warm Alpine ski look and serves up delicious Pizzoccheri pasta, meat stews, polenta, and local wines. The restaurant has been in business for over 50 years and is a favorite among both tourists and locals in Bormio.
What can I say about this traditional family restaurant? The most delicious food we’ve ever had in Bormio, Valtellina. 💯👌🥰🤤 Definitely the best restaurant in town! My husband and I went for lunch and ordered some Taroz for antipasto (made with potatoes, green beans, lots of cheese and butter) and some Pizzocheri - primo piatto (both generous portions). The Taroz was delicious and the Pizzocheri was divine! The overall experience: food, service, atmosphere and location is excellent, 100% recommended. This restaurant is usually open for lunch and dinner, but since it’s a bit far from downtown, I would recommend to call and make a reservation. Do not hesitate to check it out! They have a tasting menu starting at 30 euros. We spent 47€ (antipasto, two Pizzocheri, a liter of house wine, water and two espresso coffee) 😲😊 Undoubtedly, a fantastic Valtellinese experience!

Pros. - most of the food is tasty, and the staff is nice and smiling. Cons. - Flies was eating with us, many of them, they are brave entering to the plates. The last pork dish is not tasty - at all. There is no normal English menu. They compensate us with 2 more free desserts, was okay. It was nice local food experiences, but we will not return here, sorry.

And our team guide was Lorenzo he explained how to drive the cart well, and he also was supporting others during the ride and encourage them. The price for adult was 160€ and child 90€. Adult can either drive or sit with instructor, but children only they can sit with instructor. For people how are they driving the cart is not allowed to take photos, but they price includes a package with photo with a photographer and it is included in the price.

Our visit to Centro Italiano Husky Village in Valdidentro, Arnoga ( April 2025 ) was nothing short of magical! Getting to Husky village was simple; we took the bus ( from the bus station ) to Bormio from Livigno for just 4 euros and a 35 minute journey through some mountain roads.  From the Arnoga bus stop a short  5-7 minute walk led us to this hidden gem which is signposted making it well worth the journey! From beginning to end, the experience was perfectly organised, fun-filled, and heartwarming. The team made up of Elena, Lorenzo, Luca, and the rest of the staff made us feel truly welcome, displaying an impressive level of attentiveness and customer service that elevated our adventure beyond expectations. The initial briefing is around 10 minutes long, instructing you on how to control the sledge, followed by around 20 minutes of an adrenalin filled adventure along a mountain path, led by 3 huskies per sledge. As visitirs from London, England, one of the highlights of the visit was watching my five-year-old son gleefully participate! Thanks to the instructor-led cart, he was able to sit and enjoy the ride safely, absorbing the thrill of the husky sledding experience without missing out on the fun whilst I rode in a cart behind him. On arrival, the barking huskies may feel intimidating but they were so obedient and they were tame enough for us to stroke after the session, which made the interaction even more special. A fantastic touch was Lorenzo’s expert photography throughout our experience. His skill in capturing the action and emotions allowed us to relive our adventure through stunning images—priceless souvenirs that we’ll cherish forever. To top it all off, Elena’s kindness shone through when she invited us to share some delicious local food following our excursion. It was an unexpected but delightful addition, making the experience feel even more authentic and warm. Finally,  Luca, so kind, made sure that we were able to reach our resort safely follwing the experience which was hugely appreciated. In summary, Centro Italiano Husky Village, Valdidentro is an absolute must for families, adventure-seekers, and dog lovers alike. The seamless organisation, amazing staff, and breathtaking setting against a stunning mountain backdrop made this an experience we’ll remember for a lifetime

When visiting Bormio, don't miss the Torre della Bajona o delle Ore, also known as the Civic Tower. This imposing and characteristic tower in Piazza Cavour has been a symbol of the town since medieval times. The name "Bajona" comes from the large bell that once summoned citizens to meetings and tolled for important occasions.
(Translated by Google) The Torre delle Ore - or Civic Tower - is an imposing 14th century bell tower that dominates the heart of the historic centre, becoming itself a symbol of Bormio in the central Piazza Cavour. Also known as Torre della Bajona, it takes its name from the large bell which, thanks to its extraordinary dimensions, in the past with its tolling called the population of the town and the surrounding valleys to gather in the Kuerc to attend the meetings of the Council and actively participate to the administration of the town, but also marking the life of the people, the owners' celebrations and events of threats and danger. Not only that: the Tower delimited the ancient walls of the city border and, together with 31 other towers in the surrounding area, served as a defensive system. In this regard, legend has it that, playing loudly to alarm the town of the imminent invasion of the Visconti troops, the Bajona fell from the bell tower, shattering. Legend aside, the bell was actually destroyed following the Visconti invasion in 1376 and the bells that ring today were obtained from the fusion of that one extraordinary bell. Damaged over the centuries, renovated and partially destroyed by the fire of 1855, it still survives today, with its reassuring power and completely restored façade, where a timepiece sundial (hence Torre delle Ore) and the ancient coat of arms of the municipality are visible of Bormio.

A classic Italian clock tower you simply can’t miss in Bormio. It rises above Piazza Cavour, acting like a quiet guardian of the historic center. Its functional clock still marks time both visually and audibly, giving the town a timeless rhythm. The tower dates back to the Middle Ages and once served as a bell tower and public watchtower. It was named after the large bell “Bajona” that used to hang inside. You can't climb it today, but it’s impressive enough just looking up from the square. A perfect landmark for exploring the old town. :)

(Translated by Google) The Torre della Bajona - also called Torre delle Ore or Torre Civica - is a tower located in Bormio, in Piazza Cavour - or Piazza del Kuerc. Imposing and very characteristic, it is the bell tower of the town. The first written testimonies date back to the 14th century, although it is likely that it was built a century or two earlier. The tower takes its name from the Bajona, the large bell that gathered citizens or tolled important occasions. The bell was recast, following various damages suffered, in the 17th century. The two bells obtained have survived until now and still ring from the top of the Tower. The façade of the Tower is dominated by the clock, surrounded by a fresco - now only present in a small part - where the coats of arms of Bormio can be seen in the four corners, a white cross on a red field. With a perimeter at the base of approximately 32 metres, it features a swallowtail battlement - a sign of Ghibelline affiliation - which highlights the community's support for the emperor.

(Translated by Google) VERY BEAUTIFUL AND INTERESTING experience A blast from the past that despite the snow...warms the heart! Oh yes, because at the beginning it didn't seem to promise who knows what... it was "just" a civic museum. And instead….WOW!!! The first two rooms mainly contained religious material donated by the citizens and the noble family of the palace but then…. Crafts, artisanal tools, objects, clothes and ancient passions that made us relive what was the everyday life of the inhabitants of these mountains. Tools for weaving wool, making cheese and making cured meats. A room with vintage carriages and stagecoaches, another that reproduced a kitchen with all the tools obtained from artisanal workmanship, yet another with a large loom and sewing machines that perhaps we had only seen in our grandmothers and also tools of the cobblers (cobblers) Very kind lady at the reception. The only small flaw in the middle of two rooms of the historic building: the exhibition of Linus who, although an important author, seemed very out of context. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! CONSIGLIATISSIMO!

Each mineral tells a discovery made by Mr. Edy, an extraordinary, competent person and deeply in love with his work. Ski resort
Passo dello Stelvio is a renowned ski area in the Alps, attracting skiers from May to November, offering summer skiing opportunities. It is situated between the two highest peaks, Passo and Monte Cristallo, where Italian ski champions train. The glacier features 4 T-bar lifts and ample parking spaces. However, there are limited dining options on the glacier itself. Visitors recommend using All Mountain skis due to the snow conditions.
The Stelvio Pass is a mountain pass in northern Italy bordering Switzerland at an elevation of 2,757 m (9,045 ft) above sea level. It is the highest paved mountain pass in the Eastern Alps, and the second highest in the Alps, 7 m (23 ft) below France's Col de l'Iseran (2,764 m (9,068 ft)).

Amazing view, that's it. Too much traffic during mid September. Tight hairpins like turning in a carpark. No fun. Other passes are better for biking.

Driving up the Stelvio pass is an exhilirating experience. Alpine vews and of course seeing the glacier is special. The atmposhere is very nice at the town and the cafe Tibet is the place to eat and get a drink. Prices are fair. Quality of food and rinks is very good. For bikers; I recommend starting before 8am. Most traffic starts a little later and then it is congested. We also went summer skiing (end June). The conditions are good at the top, but lower down it is slush... also lots of queueing for just very short runs. But for a unique skiing experience it's worth the effort. At the other side heading to Bormio, half way down the hill, the QC Terme Spa at Bagni Vecchi is EXCELLENT!!!

Nestled beneath the majestic Cima Piazzi, Ferriera Corneliani offers a captivating glimpse into the region's rich history intertwined with its stunning natural beauty. This site, once a bustling iron production hub established in 1852 by the Corneliani company, showcases remnants of an era when iron extraction thrived in the Fraele valley. The factory was notable for modernizing manufacturing techniques and included a blast furnace along with several other structures that powered local baths.

(Translated by Google) The extraction and processing of iron in the Fraele valley dates back to 1200 and was a major resource for centuries. The Premadio smelting furnaces were built in 1852 by the Corneliani company of Milan which also obtained the concession for the exploitation of iron mines for fifty years. Around 1870, interest in the iron industry in the Bormio area waned due to excessive extraction and transport costs and the furnaces stopped working. The ancient ironworks, recently restored and enhanced with exhibitions and exhibitions, constitute an important example of industrial archeology in Alta Valtellina. Outside there is a welcoming and well-kept playground for the little ones. (Translated by Google) The "Ferriere di Premadio" were built in 1852 by the Corneliani company and was the first factory in the area to abandon the ancient manufacturing techniques. The plant consisted of the blast furnace and 6 other blocks to which, in 1895, a small power station was added which supplied energy to the "Vecchi" and "Nuovi" Baths. The plant operated for 8 months of the year and employed 400-500 people, the majority employed in cutting trees, transporting and packaging coal. Fewer people were employed in the extraction and transport of the mineral, which took place in the tunnels (in panniers and galleys), on the surface (with buckets and sleds) and in recent years with two funiculars. The ovens worked with wood and the blast furnace with wood and coal. In the most prosperous years (from 1856 to 1859) the plant was capable of producing up to 6-7 tons of material, the result of processing over 15 tons of ore per day. The iron produced was mainly directed to the Milan area and, to a lesser extent, to Tyrol. In 1875 the factory ceased to function due to the opposition of the municipalities in the area who wanted to preserve the area from massive deforestation, as well as the increase in the price of transport, which made it uncompetitive. Today it is an example of industrial archeology and the only nineteenth-century oven that has not undergone any reconversion (Original) Le "Ferriere di Premadio" furono costruite nel 1852 dalla ditta Corneliani e fu il primo stabilimento nell'area ad abbandonare le antiche tecniche di lavorazione. I forni funzionavano a legna e l'altoforno a legna e carbone.

CAI, mountain guides and municipal administration do your part! However, once you get off the path towards the Cancano dams, the landscape is fantastic and the path is safe. (Translated by Google) Definitely suggestive place: undoubtedly 5 stars. Unfortunately, however, there is no added value for those who purchase a half board package and sleep in the structure compared to those who come on the day. Given the price of the package (in my opinion decidedly exaggerated for what it offers) whoever buys it should at least have access to the spa with much longer opening hours than the daily entrance. But since this isn't the case, you might as well sleep outside and buy a day pass, saving many hundreds of euros. Ps: the luxury dinner (very good) which includes either the second course or dessert and not both is really poor.

Torre e Palazzo De Simoni is a lesser-known gem in Bormio, off the main tourist path but definitely worth a visit. The seventeenth-century palace was built by the De Simoni family after acquiring the adjacent medieval tower dating back to the 13th century. The tower served as a lookout and secondary access gate to the village. Today, the palace houses the Civic Museum of Bormio, featuring splendid frescoed rooms and a charming garden.

(Translated by Google) Little known, because it is off the main tourist route of Bormio, but worth a visit. This is the seventeenth-century palace of the ancient De Simoni family, who built it after buying the adjacent medieval tower. The tower dates back to the 13th century, when it served as a "Guaita" i.e. lookout tower and secondary access gate to the village. The palace, with its splendid frescoed rooms and its garden, is the seat of the interesting Civic Museum of Bormio. It can be reached via a staircase from the lower part of the village or via a slightly uphill street (via Buonconsiglio) starting from Piazza del Kuerc.

Antico palazzo del Ginnasio has a rich history, once owned by the Alberti family before being repurposed as a school. The walls are adorned with notable works of art, including a fifteenth-century fresco by Bortolino De Buri depicting the visit of the Magi. Additionally, it is connected to the church of S., adding to its historical and cultural significance.
[2025/01 SEASON] - Christmas Market (Spoiler alert) This is a nicely done Christina’s Market, especially if you enter from Via Alberto De Simoni. However, the stands themselves don’t have much variety and are just a few of them. I guess I was expecting more and I think Bormio has better things to show.
