The Archaeological site of Grotte di Catullo, located on the Sirmione peninsula in northern Italy, is a significant Roman villa dating back to the 1st century BC. Despite its name, it's not a cave but rather the remains of a grand Roman domus. While traditionally associated with the poet Catullus, there's uncertainty about this claim.
Museum is very small with few exhibits but the Grotte is amazing! Very large and the free audio really brings it to life. *Note the audio download is recommended to download from hotel wifi. It’s rather large and signal is 4g 2 bars Really enjoyed this site which is pretty cheap. Do also be aware if you plan to do the regional 1,2,3 site you can get a discount ticket. We only found this after the visit but 🤷‍♂️ all good.

If you can, book a local hotel to fully enjoy this place. If amazingly beautiful, but we were with our kids and this place requires a lot of walking, specially if the parking lots close to the old city entrance are full. We don’t regret anything, even parking far the visit was amazing. Just next time we will book a local hotel so we can stay more and walk less.
Luciano K — Google review
Incredible site to visit if you’re at all interested in history! The museums fairly small but contains a lot of interesting artifacts. The actual archeological site is well excavated and uncovered, so it is easy to move around and view the different buildings. Unfortunately the audio guide was not an option as I had to look after kids - so I cannot comment on it. On the topic of kids; be ready to carry them a lot, a lot of steep stairs and places to get hurt - but at the same time very kid friendly as they are free to explore. Would, and will, visit again!

Another attraction highly recommended if in Sirmione. Either walk or take an electronic train ride (from Terme) to the ticket station. The ruins are spread over a bugger space then I thought and there are lots of olive and fir trees and spectacular views. Peaceful and tranquil too. After the visit, you can walk down towards Jamaica beach as well.
Sarah S — Google review
The ruins are relatively interesting but what made this place special for us were the spectacular views of the lake. Alongside the ruins, it is worth visiting here just for the stunning views.
Keith — Google review
If you'll walk through this magnifiyplacs and think that people who build it and some who lived there didn't even heard about Jesus walking on the earth. Scale od PRIVATE villa build 2000years ago is unbeliy. Evidebyof some great work, architecture and art. Also the location and the view is thrilling.
Tomasz L — Google review
It is a very beautiful place. History is there. It is located just near the lake and gives inspiration to people. Everyone who visits Sirmione must see this place too.

Jamaica Beach, located at the foot of the Grotte di Catullo in Sirmione, is a popular destination known for its wild beauty and accessibility. The beach features a small sandy area and a submerged flat rock outcropping with views of nearby ruins. Accessible by walking through the old town or by boat from Grotte di Catullo, this paradise boasts unspoiled vegetation, rocky slabs, and transparent waters.
This is the best beach in the area! It is located right on the tip of the peninsula. Just be aware, it is very rocky and you should be careful in the water, it is very shallow, but then it gets very deep further out. This is also a fun place to put on some swim goggles and explore the cool rocks underwater and the fish. I recommend

The Most Terrifying and Humiliating Experience of My Life. Warning: They close the main gate at exactly 8:00 PM. If you are still inside, you will be locked in. We were a group of young people having a good time when, at 8:00 PM, the staff told us to leave. We hurried to the exit and reached the main door at about 8:10 PM. When we were just 10 meters away, one staff member shouted, “Run, guys, run — you won’t make it to the exit!” Then, right in front of us, they locked the gate while looking at us. We begged them to open it, but one of them laughed and said: “Oh no, the gate is closed! Swim to the next beach!” They knew that the Jamaican Beach path is very slippery and dangerous. He also cursed at us and said rude things while we kept apologizing and explaining we could not go through the water. But he still refused to help. We had no choice but to walk on the dangerous, slippery rocks. My friend slipped, fell, and started bleeding. There was no ambulance access, so he had to walk all the way to Sirmione city while injured. When we finally reached the other side, they opened only the first gate — the second gate was still locked. I will never forget how it felt to be trapped, insulted, and forced to risk our lives just to get out. It was dangerous, humiliating, and completely inhumane.
Behnaz G — Google review
Fantastic service and view. The guys who served us went above and beyond. Great Hugo Spritz and a lovely cold pint
Lloyd P — Google review
Dangerous! Bring swimming shoes otherwise be very careful. Water is very shallow and has no rocks rather very slippery plates that if you slip you can get really hurt. It takes a while to walk (and try not to die 😅) before you can fully swim underneath. The Jamaica beach bar tho is an experience on its own. Hats off service is amazing and there we spent a lot of time. Crowdy no matter the day
Patrycja P — Google review
A fine public beach, but its quite small so it can be super cramped during the holiday. To reach it you have to go down the ancient hill, theres a roman ruins too on top of the beach. There are beach beanches for rent but they are sold out fast. As its rocky, dont forget to wear a sandal.
Fairuz A — Google review
Jamaica Beach is a flat rock beach with large stone slabs that are smooth and slippery due to the algae. We would highly recommend waterproof shoes to protect your feet.🌊 Entrance to Jamaica beach is free and there are few options for how to access it. You can walk down the stairs located below the Roman ruins of the Grotto de Cattulo that overlook the lake. This attractive beach can be reached also by foot at low tide from the other side of the shore. We walked through the water and stones from Spiaggia Lido delle Bionde located south-east of Jamaica Beach.⛱ The water on Jamaica beach has a beautiful clear blue color. For about the first 15 meters the water is shallow and warm but then it gets cold and quite deep. You can lay on the huge smooth stones partially dipped in water, swim in Lake Garda, or enjoy one of many water sports. There are also sunbeds and parasols which you can rent out, as well as pedal boat rentals. Jamaica Beach also offers an outdoor bar, which is perfect to cool off with some drinks and snacks and enjoy the best sunset views around.⛰🛥

A white stone beach, really unique. Short walk down from Grotto di Cartullo and there is a bar on site as well for drinks

Nature & Parks
Parco Maria Callas is a serene and hidden gem in Sirmione, dedicated to the famous opera singer Maria Callas. The park features lush greenery, numerous statues, and is located near the villas where Maria lived with her husband. It offers a stunning garden leading to a beach and is well-maintained by local gardeners. Visitors can enjoy a peaceful stroll among mature trees, old stairs, and remnants of buildings while taking in the tranquility of the surroundings.
The olive grove in the park is an absolutely charming place. A peaceful place to escape the crowds of tourists.

Great little park perfect for a light stroll on a hot summer day. Lots of trees around which offer sun protection and shade. Old stairs and remnants of old buildings. There are benches to sit and small fountains to cool down and replenish water bottles.
Dino N — Google review
Beautiful park, very old trees, quite area, a lot of birds chirping, so peaceful !
Iris C — Google review
This is true peace on earth place as Maria Callas has regret to back when she lived in the area! It is great for a day or evening walk, it also have some benches so you can have a sit as well:) it is close to the aqua baths so it has some soulful like smell (rotten eggs:). Great for kids walk as well.

Aquaria Thermal SPA is a renowned indoor/outdoor spa complex located near Lake Garda, offering a range of facilities and treatments for relaxation and wellness. The spa features thermal pools, saunas, steam baths, and an outdoor fresh water swimming pool where fitness classes are held. Visitors can also enjoy personalized treatments, whirlpools, massages, and wellness cabins.
Very good Therma Spa. Good place, relaxing and you can easy clean your head. Nice view for Lake Garda. Pool for better circulation of leg was great, warm and cold weather. Many choices of Spa treatments. Saunas, steam room. Showers with nice smell water. Definitely recommend this place.
Magdalena P — Google review
Make sure to book in advance — this place is very popular. The thermal baths themselves are pretty standard: warm, slightly sulfuric water, everything generally fine. Some areas are working, some not — typical for such places. But there’s plenty of space, so even when it’s busy, you can still find a spot to relax or sunbathe. Great view of the lake, and there’s a small buffet with snacks. That said, the spa leaves a slightly odd impression. It doesn’t quite have the cozy, calming atmosphere you expect — it feels more like a health clinic. The massage was good, and the staff were polite and professional, but the place lacks a bit of character and warmth. A stronger touch of management could really elevate the experience. Overall: 4 out of 5.
Andrew Z — Google review
This place was a relaxing and chill way to spend half a day in Sirimione. Due to booking only a few days in advance we had to go quite early when they opened (for 5 hours) so book in advance if you want to be able to choose the time you want to enter! So, despite being at full capacity there were many places to relax without it feeling busy. The different types of saunas and essential oil showers are a good edition. My only complaint would be that a group of teenage boys in the supposed ‘silent areas’ were loud and disturbing so would’ve appreciated maybe staff to enforce this more consistently.
Monica O — Google review
Amazing Therme to visit, especially in the evening time. We were almost alone there and it was super relaxing. There is a huge relaxation area with various decos on the second floor, there are several saunas, really nice aroma showers, massage pools, infinity pool, pretty much everything one can wish for in such a place. Really recommend visiting in the evening time if you are around the area. PS mind that there is no parking possibility as the spa is above the old city, so plan around 20 minutes walk from the nearest parking place Monte Baldo.
Tatiana S — Google review
My daughter (17) and I did the 5 hrs from 11.30am. We started with 7 cycles of the cardio circulation walk, then went to the indoor large jacuzzi. We tried the sulphur pool, the scented showers afterwards. We found lounger chairs with lake view under the shade. Read and admired the views. Tried the cooler pool at the end of the terrace, no one there so swam and admired the views as this pool is right on the lake. Had lunch, ham, cheese croissants and diet coke, water. We then went to the big pool with the spa bubbles. We tried the relaxation rooms upstairs, enjoyed them all, had some flavoured tea on our way back to the pools. We did not do sauna or steam as was a hot day! I had a mud wrap with Vlada, was calming and detoxing! My skin felt smoothe afterwards. We found all the staff from Reception to the bistro, spa all friendly. The best 5 hours!
Nicky 1 — Google review
We visited the spa on a cloudy/rainy day for a relaxation purpose and weren't disappointed! The spa offers multiple rooms and choices. From warm outdoor pools, indoor pools and healing thermal waters to special small rooms( star room, music room, salt room and many others). You have to book in advance and I was a little bit disappointed everything was sold out as I wanted to experience their treatments, but oh well we had enough time to loose ourselves and just take a breath. We had amazing time, love the saunas with a view on the water too. Thank you.
Patrycja P — Google review
It was a great experience and relaxation at SPA Aquaria. A great set of saunas and mineral baths recharge you energetically and physically while looking at the peaceful lake in front of you. For the massage I can only say - Thank you Julia, you have magical hands that relaxed me so much that I even fell asleep. I recommend and would gladly visit this great place again.😊
Diana D — Google review
This can be found in the beautiful old town of Sermione at the bottom (South) of Lake Garda. We stayed in Garda and got to it by ferry (45 mins travel). It is a bout 10 mins walk from the ferry. The spa waters come from a natural spring and this about 37 / 38 deg C. Staff friendly and very helpful. The main outdoor pool can also be accessed from indoors. Changing facilities are very good and there is good cafe(?) offering a good range of food. The Spa and Thermal garden pool is awesome. You can smell the sulphur and feel your skin softening. Plenty of sun loungers with covers for shade. I noticed there is designated smoking area outside for those that do, which near the sauna cabins. We spent 5 hours here and felt we had very good value for money.

Lido delle Bionde is a picturesque beach on the shores of Lake Garda, easily accessible from Sirmione's center. Really very nice service , food and staff. The view there is fantastic right on the beach
Nabih E — Google review
Disappointing Experience Despite the Lovely Location I rarely leave negative reviews, but this visit deserves a warning for future diners. While the location is undeniably beautiful and both the food and drinks are genuinely tasty, the overall experience was extremely poor due to shocking service and cleanliness issues. We waited far too long to be seated, and even longer for anyone to take our order. Drinks took an absurd amount of time to arrive—longer than the food itself—which is baffling. To make matters worse, one of our orders was completely forgotten and never arrived. The tables around us were left uncleared for what felt like hours, with leftover food sitting out attracting birds, who pecked at the plates in full view of diners. It was genuinely off-putting and unacceptable from a hygiene perspective. The staff, particularly our waiter, seemed overwhelmed or uninterested—wandering around empty-handed, rarely engaging, and doing little to keep things running smoothly. The inefficiency was obvious and frustrating. It’s a shame, because with such a lovely setting and decent menu, this place could be great. But until they seriously improve their service, efficiency, and cleanliness, I wouldn’t recommend dining here.
Ariane G — Google review
Our waiter was very attentive and gave us great recommendations. The lasagna was really good, the seafood risotto was fantastic, the kids chicken nuggets and fries were good, and the Cesar salad was plenty. The day was beautiful and sitting outside was lovely. Fantastic views. The beer and wine were delicious!
Christine R — Google review
Perfect place, very very good food the aglio e olio was 10/10, my friends also said their seafood and lasagna was great. Drinks were great, very nice servers, great vibes and everything. Pretty good prices too. We also received our food quickly which was great
Julia N — Google review
Great ingredients, great taste and look of food served. Quick, helpful and knowledgeable service. The view is great. There are also tables hidden from the elements if raining.
Jakub B — Google review
The food, the atmosphere and the service were perfect, all for a reasonable price. Highly recommend this place!
Kerekes M — Google review
Excellent break between a swim and walks around the lake with refreshing centrifuges and in the evening a superb plate of raw salmon and swordfish accompanied by a glass of delicious white wine. The terrace with a beautiful view on the lake was pleasant for the fresh air which one enjoyed to refresh oneself from the beating sun at lunchtime. However, I've also seen very tempting first courses and fried fish being served.
Giovanna G — Google review
Probably avoid if you have any food allergies. We tried to come here for lunch but had to leave. My husband said as soon as we asked for a table that he is coeliac, and the first waiter was nice and said they could do something for him. However, the next waiter who came to take our order just shrugged and said 'I'm not a doctor' when we asked which dishes were gluten free. He didn't go and ask the kitchen or anything, didn't seem to care or be trained in dietary requirements. We heard the couple at the next table having the same problem with a shellfish allergy. We decided to leave as my husband didn't feel safe to order anything, which was a shame as the setting by the lake was nice. We instead went to Bon Ton Bistrot where they were amazing

Chiesa di San Pietro in Mavino is a medieval stone church located on Mavino hill, the oldest church in Sirmione dating back to the 8th century A.D. Surrounded by gardens, cypresses, and olive trees, it offers an atmosphere of peace and silence despite its proximity to the busy historic town center. The church is known for its frescoes and bell tower and is situated near the Grottoes of Catullus.
Wonderful small church set high above lake Garda with beautiful views . The church has amazing frescoes and a wonderfully peaceful atmosphere. Outside is the huge la Julia bell and war memorial commemorating the fallen of the 2 wars and particularly the 9th September 1943 when Italy surrendered to the Allies. There is also a field gun in the grounds.

La Chiesa di San Pietro in Mavino is the oldest church in Sirmione and was built in the 8th century. It is small, but stunning inside and has beautiful frescoes around the internal walls. It was very quiet, peaceful and was a delight to visit.
Keith — Google review
A piece of paradise at the top of Sirmione town. The area is likely to be quiet as it's not known by many tourists, maybe because of its steep approach. Chiesa di San Pietro is surrounded by olive trees and tells stories from different periods of history. This little church was built in the 8th century.⏳ It’s a serene place to visit now, a great escape from the busy streets of Sirmione. The peaceful music inside helps you to breathe the atmosphere and enjoy sitting there for a couple of minutes. There is no entrance fee and it is definitely worth a stop.

A lovely setting & fabulous old church simple decoration on the interior & wonderful stained glass. The poignant War Memorial is to the left of the church. Away from the crowds but only 800m from the centre & 200m from the Villa Catullo. Well worth a visit if in the area. Returned in 2022 & enjoyed every peaceful minute.

Villa di Maria Callas is a charming yellow mansion located in the center of the Sirmione peninsula. It was once owned by the renowned opera singer Maria Callas and served as a vacation home for her and her husband, Veronese industrialist Giovan Battista Meneghini.
5 days Lake Garda Sirmione Inc Villa Callas (which is now apartments), Castle, Romania remains etc gorgeous area with beautiful views - boat trip a must!
Kelvin L — Google review
The check-in was uncomplicated and the host was always available. There is free parking and an elevator. The accommodation is very central. Unfortunately, the central location of the accommodation also has disadvantages, even if the host is not responsible for this. Sirmione is definitely completely overrun by tourism. At times, the entrance and exit must therefore be closed even for guests (Sundays between 2 pm and 7 pm). The accommodation is unfortunately a bit old-fashioned. The shutters were partly without function. No darkening possible.
Ralph B — Google review
The property is unfortunately now only visible from the outside, where there is also a plaque commemorating the presence of Maria Callas and Giovanni Battista Meneghini in Sirmione. The surrounding area is lush and worth a stroll. The garden has remained the same, as has the swimming pool in the shape of Lake Garda that Maria Callas herself wanted. Unfortunately the villa is not usually open to visitors, but on certain occasions during the year it hosts events and concerts open to the public.

According to the sign, this is the place where Maria Callas lived with her husband Giovanni Battista Meneghini from 1950 up to 1959. It is a 5 minutes walk from the centre of Sirmione. The villa as well as the gardens are kept in excellent condition. A recommended visit.

This is an amazing castle protecting a beautiful little town. The views from the top of the castle are outstanding and the history of the castle is fascinating. This castle is unique because of the moat. You can take a boat tour around it too. View is beautiful and on weekends you can pay extra to go into the moat(dock) area, see photo for timings.

We went there at around 6pm and it was really quiet. The sunset was stunning and city view was beautiful under the sunset. Worth the hiking from city centre. Nice castle!
Miller Y — Google review
When we stood on top of the castle, we looked around in awe! What a perfect strategic location it was, together with the romantic scenery of the lake and mountains. Later, we found out online that it was built in the 13th century by the Scaligeri family of Verona. It was not only a fortress for defense but also served as a military harbor on Lake Garda. Walking inside, you can truly feel the power of its massive stone walls and sense the military strength of those who once ruled here. It is absolutely worth climbing up close to sunset.

A very beautiful and well-maintained castle surrounded by a majestic fortress wall. You can choose between a variety of gelaterias, or take a motorboat ride around the peninsula. The only downside is if it rains heavily and there is nowhere to take shelter.
Tzvetelina J — Google review
Beautiful Castle and beautiful surrounding views. I wouldn't recommend visiting on the weekend as we went on a Saturday and it was absolutely packed in the morning so we went back in the afternoon which was much better. The stairs are quite narrow so it's difficult for people to walk past each other which creates a bottleneck in many points going up/down the castle. Otherwise it's a beautiful place and one can take great pictures here. We even saw a proposal which was super sweet 😊

(Translated by Google) Beautiful walk along the edges of the lake, the route, entirely flat, goes from the Prete beach to the Lido delle Bionde. The route borders the waters of the lake and it is easy to encounter swans and ducks, enough to get used to the passage of people. The view is beautiful (if you turn towards Sirmione, the towers and walls of the village will make you seem to have gone back in time, as if the Middle Ages had not passed...). Spiaggia Lido delle Bionde is a charming beach nestled on the Sirmione peninsula, offering a romantic setting between Villa Cortine's gardens and the Grottoes of Catullus. The name "Lido delle Bionde" originates from the word "biunda," meaning enclosed place, perfectly capturing the serene atmosphere of this lakeside spot.
Beautiful beach, wooden pier, you can rent sun loungers and umbrellas, as well as pedal boats. There is a restaurant on the beach in high season. The beach is rocky, so for the sake of comfort it is worth taking special swimming shoes.

A wonderful and peaceful spot. The pebble beach is well-maintained. Sunbeds in August cost €40. There is usually no service at the sunbeds, but if there were, it would be a full 5-star experience. Takeaway is available from the restaurant. The staff are friendly, and the sandwiches are delicious. A shower and small changing cabins are provided. Water shoes are recommended.

Nice beach with amazingly clean water. There is a pier from which there is a convenient descent into the water. I spent a lot of time spotting the fish from the pier 😁 There are also free changing rooms but I didn’t found the free public toilet nearby. The beach itself is very rocky and the rocks are quite slippery so be careful! It’s also possible to take SUP or kayak for rent nearby.

Do not go here, when you want to have an authentic Tiramisu. Two stars: One for the view and the wine. One for kind waiter. Zero for the Tiramisu (which should be a signature, especially when it's called "Chef's Tiramisu" on the menu. Shame you for using whipped cream and not Mascarpone with Eggnog.
Mike F — Google review
Even in October, there are too many people trudging along. The rocks are too slippery and the water is knee deep and full of algea for ages, while beyond, the boats shoot by. The toilets were closed in October and many parents led their children into the bushes because of a lack of alternatives. The toilets on the way back were the worst, an insult to humanity. Sorry, but this place won’t ever see us again.
Cella M — Google review
Nice public beach. Free even though part of it is covered with paid sun loungers and umbrellas. There's a food place & bar, shower and toilet on it. If you're paddleboarding (like us), I recommend going a bit further toward the cliffs for better access or to the end of the molo. The only problem in Sirmione is that the lake bed here is very rocky and you really need to venture far in to dip yourself in the water. Otherwise, nice place.

Instead of calling I wanted to go to the surfspot physically to arrange a surflesson, see what the options where. It was raining pretty hard with a lot of wind, but I was in the neibourhood and wanted to see the establishment in person instead of calling. I knew that it was probably not possible to windsurf today. The place looked closed, but I saw someone inside, so I wanted to ask when the weather got better this week to surf. At first the owner did not want to open his door. He was very rude, but he let me inside, obviously very annoyed to open the door for me when it was raining. I asked if it was possible to surf later today, "don't know". I asked it it would be possible tommorow "don't know".. he was not friendly at all, I felt very unwelcome and uncomfortable. I would not go again because of this treatment. Edit: The way he even replies to this review says it all. At the establishment he could have just say "hey" when I was there and give me more information himslef on the options of windsurf courses instead of making me feel bad. No customer service at all.
Fee V — Google review
Wanted to hire paddleboards during our holiday so picked this one because of the good reviews. When we arrived the place was open, music playing and someone's things on an outside table so we assumed someone would be back soon or would answer the doorbell on the sign outside. Waited for half an hour just enjoying the lake as we weren't in a rush but then he turned up and started shouting at us for parking our bikes outside the place. Clearly he didn't want any customers that day. It was a blessing in disguise as we found a better location and better service elsewhere.

Nestled in the heart of Sirmione, Trattoria La Fiasca is a delightful gem that captures the essence of traditional Italian dining. With its cozy atmosphere and limited seating for just 40 guests, this trattoria offers an intimate experience where you can savor robust portions of expertly prepared fish, seafood, and grilled meats. The star of the show here is undoubtedly their house-made pasta, which is cooked to perfection with a delightful al dente texture.
If you’re visiting Sirmione and looking for an unforgettable meal, this Italian restaurant is an absolute must. The food was exceptional – every dish was full of flavor and beautifully presented. From the fresh pasta to the perfectly cooked seafood and delicious desserts, everything was top quality. The atmosphere was just as impressive as the food – cozy, welcoming, and full of charm. The staff were friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even more enjoyable

The food was good. Our waiter, a kind elderly man, was very attentive. Pasta tastes great. Grilled sea bass was fresh, but I still wonder why I got only 1 piece of the bass. I just found out that other people all got 2 pieces when we were leaving. Maybe some kind of mistake or I understand something wrong.

In any touristy town, its easy to get ripped off by touristy restaurants mailing it in. La Fiasca is nothing of the sort. Excellent, hand-made pasta dishes. Great wine list. Great service. Lovely location (both the outdoor and indoor sections are beautiful). Great lunch or dinner choice. Can't wait to go again.

The food was good, but not great. I had the Risotto and it was well seasoned and cocked. The Service was good, but the service fee of 3.50€ feels excessive and pulls down the grade one star.

It was a fun experience, although the box opening ceremony was my least favourite part. Food itself was just amazing, especially the desserts. Restaurant seems to be very spacious and romantic, despite being in the rather small old building. Staff was very nice maybe bit too official, the lady with glasses is the best ☺️ The pieces were unexpectedly conversation starters and we had an amazing time, can't say it was not worth the money.

Excellent service and food quality. The taste of the dishes is truly inspiring, and the interior decoration is very impressive. Although Sirmione is generally a noisy place, this restaurant is located on a quiet street, offering a peaceful atmosphere. Had a phenomenal dinner there last night 6/25/22. We had the 5 course chef's tasting menu with a lot of additional courses. All courses were good to great with exceptional lamb chops (the most tender we've had and addition of cheese was a surprisingly good addition. Also sea scallop crusted in squid ink and potatoes was amazing. All presentations were certainly stylized and added to the fun. My wife appreciated the mini ottoman they provided for women to place their purses. This was a memorable meal. Luxurious (lots of truffle and one with caviar) was seafood heavy as well. Most diners we observed were Italian as a minor footnote to some who offered this as a 'touristy' location. If you have the means and the time, it is worth a visit. We'll deserved Michelin star.

This was a great restaurant; loved the risotto. Certainly quite creative visually. The service was excellent, but slowed down towards the end. Too much bread. The spaghetti carbonara was so salty that it was impossible to finish it. The restaurant was a random choice by us and the expectations were not high as it is a touristic place with one time customers. BUT The food was great and the white house wine (frizzante) was the best we ever tasted. Plus friendly staff makes a five star rating from our side. one very little downside: aircon outside is not environmental friendly.

The service was poor we have order water the first thing and after an hour when we asked for the water they said they don’t believe we’ve ordered it. They have also gave us wine without glasses and we had to use the water cups for our wine.

As for us it was the best place for food in Sirmione and one of the best in our Italy trip for sure. Real traditional italian meals, here you understand that Italy is not only about pizza and pasta but seafood and different kind of meet also. Plates are big and reasonable prices for such tasty food. We tried hot mussels (imperata di cozze), sliced beef (tagliata manzo), swordfish with vegetables (pesce spada alla piastra), for dessert was panna cotta one with pistachio and other with berries. Magnifical! Perfect! Great! Not enough words to explain how tasty was everything. We took also 1/4 bottle of white and 1/4 bottle of rose wine (nice offer if do not drink much but one glass not enough). We paid only 75 euros (7,5 euros was for service). Great time great experience, perfect service! Around only italian families! Thanks for unforgetable evening! Our 1000% recommendations!

Gelateria Mirkoz is a bit pricier than your average gelato spot, but it's definitely worth the cost. The scoops are generous and the flavors are abundant, with over 50 to choose from. Visitors rave about the delicious ice cream and recommend trying flavors like pistacchio and Amarena. The staff is friendly, the place is clean, and customers appreciate the large quantity of yummy ice cream they get for their money.
This gelato was really good - they also had like a MILLION favors which is why people get "lured"in. I got Banana and Black Hawaiian which was an excellent combo. I'm not sure how much ice cream other people are buying but it was well worth the money and I shared the cone with the husband. Cone was great.
Clare L — Google review
This is a tourist scam!! We asked for a normal cone. The lady didn’t ask anything and gave us a giant one instead. We asked just one flavor but instead we got an absurdly huge portion. Then she charged €10! Just for a cone with one flavor!! Prices are hidden behind the counter, very unclear. They lure people in with free samples, then charge crazy prices. This place is a tourist scam. Avoid it!
Liene N — Google review
Decent ice cream, however portions are much larger than usual, i think 1 scoop equals 2-5 times the normal size... if you go in expecting this its fine value for money. However, you really cant know this before hand as every other gelato shop works with "usual sizes" so you will most likely be soft scammed into buying more than you ever wanted to. Sort of shame as I think the place would probably be decent if they advertised their gelato as it is
Roope L — Google review
TLDR: AVOID this scam. If you read the reviews - you're smarter than me ;) In the heat of the moment we've stopped here. We wanted 2 cones and 2 scoops of ice cream. They scam you by giving you the largest cone possible, even if you say you want the basic one. Prices are kind of hidden and they give you the POS terminal in a way so you don't see the price. In the end, those 4 scoops and 2 cones cost us 20 EUR. The taste was way below average: artificial, sweet over the reasoning limits and just not worth the price. Beware and AVOID at all costs.
Gregorius D — Google review
Be very careful here. Prices are wildly inflated – we were charged 5 times the normal rate for basic ice cream, without any clear pricing shown in advance. Feels like a tourist trap designed to overcharge unsuspecting visitors. I strongly advise avoiding this place.
Ownsat U — Google review
Deceptive pricing and massive quantities. Most places offer 2 scoops in a cone or cup for the same price of €5 but this place offers giant cup sizes without advertising the true price which is about €9. Even a one scoop cup was far more than I could ever eat. It went in the bin.

I visited this ice cream shop asking for a simple, regular cone, but instead, they handed me a giant one without even asking, and then charged me a ridiculous amount money for it! To make things worse, the ice cream itself was awful. The flavors tasted extremely artificial, chemical, powder alike. I couldn't even finish it. I threw out the most of it - it was that bad. Definitely not worth your money. Avoid at all costs!
Roberta M — Google review
This ice cream shop was a terrible experience. They lured me in with their tourist trap tactics. I took my child there and they gave us 3-4 spoons of different flavors to try without us asking. They all tasted bad and we wanted to choose something else. But they only allowed us to try 3-4 more flavors, which were equally bad. We felt pressured to buy something because everyone around us was enjoying their ice cream. We requested one more sample, but they told us it was the last one they could offer us. We didn’t like it either, but we bought two random flavors that we hadn’t tried to avoid embarrassment as they made us feel like we had tried too many. They charged us 14 pounds for 2 and they were horrible. The waffle cone was dry and crumbly. We couldn’t eat them and had to throw them away. It was a waste of money and time.

Sirmione, located on the peninsula of Lake Garda, offers a variety of activities for visitors. From tours around the lake to water sports along the coast, there's something for everyone. For those seeking relaxation, Jamaica Beach is a serene spot to unwind. The old town center of Sirmione is known for its narrow alleys and historic landmarks such as the Thermal Baths of Catullus and the Roman Villa of Catullus.
Beautiful little church with very old murals very peaceful and calm from the hustle of the town.

La Chiesa di Santa Maria Maggiore is the parish church of Sirmione. There is plenty to see including beautiful frescoes, artwork, mosaics and statues. An impressive and very peaceful church that is worth a visit.

Beautiful church. It's said that woman with a child-wish go here to pray to the Madonna with child to help them getting pregnant. First church I ever visited with electronic candles. Not sure if electronic candles are a good or a bad thing? Entrance to the church is free

Beautiful old, Catholic church. Attended Sunday evening Mass. It was a blessing to experience a traditional Italian mass in such surroundings. Mass times 1830 every evening plus 1030 Sunday morning. A must see

Gorgeous little church in this very beautiful place and just a 1 minute walk away is the lake shore, well worth a look at and to get away from the crowds in town.

Such a beautiful church it’s the most beautiful views when you walk outside.
Wumi O — Google review
A very picturesque entrance to the main church in old Sirmione, with marble pillars & arches. As with a lot of Italian churches dimly lit but never-the-less a nice interior. It is actually bigger on the inside than it looks from the outside. Worth spending a few minutes inside on the way to the beach or Villa Catullo.

We had a wonderful experience at this winery. Stefano introduced us to the history of the winery and his family, then gave us a tour of the winery. At the end we enjoyed some emblematic wines. I recommend it to wine lovers and not only them.

Legendary winery, worth a visit even if you are not a fan of the Lugana variety. Wines not really cheap, but the have interesting and more rare ones.

Beautiful winery, designed like a church, you can taste different kind of wines. In order to have a tour you need to book in advance

Such a beautiful winery, and one of our favourite wines we tried! There is plenty of parking and bike racks (we cycled from Sirmione). We enjoyed a free tasting then the guy working mentioned they had a couple of cancellations for the English tour so invited us to join. Very well spoken and insightful tour of the production insights and facilities (everywhere is so clean!). More delicious tastings in their beautiful room, one not to be missed! Thank you

Very nice winery, it looks so fancy from the gates. And inside was really nice, there is one big room with all the wines. We bought couple of bottles from their sparkling wines and they were all good.

Stylish, beautiful, new equipment and building. It’s interesting to visit and taste. Company has lots of grape fields in their own property. It’s a family company and they have very friendly service. I really recommend to visit this place, to have a time to test their interesting and delicious wines. Smell of the wine is very rich and full. They work till 6:30 PM and there is a wine shop of their products, you can buy whatever you like during tasting in the shop.

we had a well rounded guided tour through the whole winery. The tutor was expert and explained all the process and history of the winery beautifully. moreover, we tasted various wines and purchasing directly after tasting was possible.

The employees are very friendly and they know about they products, very clean, very organiced. It's a kind of an Apple Store, but with usefully products. It's allowed to taste 4 wines. Finally, we found out that they also produce/sell grappa and nearly olive oil. How ever its a celebration of wine. Try to come without the kids, for them it's boring. Pricing has a range from ~10 to ~200€. We have to come again ;) Hopefully, we can also try the restaurants next time.

The Cascina Maddalena wine tasting winery is a picturesque and welcoming setting with informative wine tastings that are also very personal. The English speaking Gloria takes you on a tour of the winery, explaining the wines and their stories. Eliza is also present at the wine tastings, informing you about each bottle and providing delicious accompaniments. You will leave with 5 bottles of wine to take back home to enjoy another time!
We really enjoyed the tasting and tour by Elisa! The tasting was combined with local produce (cheese, ham, confit etc). Every wine they have has its own story, which is also reflected on the bottles. To our opinion, Leonardo is definitely the winner ;)

A great morning making pasta and a gorgeous biscotti dessert! Alongside a vineyard tour and picking our own herbs from the garden to use in our pasta dishes. The family could not be any more helpful and welcoming and the food is the yummiest we’ve had in our stay in Sirmione. Would highly recommend!

We had a wonderful time at Cascina Maddalena during our trip to Sirmione. The vineyard had been recommended by a friend as a special place where we could celebrate my mother’s birthday, and I’m so pleased that we chose to visit. Elisa welcomed us warmly and gave us a thorough tour of the site. We then enjoyed the excellent wines with some very tasty antipasti to accompany them. We would highly recommend to anyone visiting the south end of the lake as it is an easy journey from Desenzano, Peschiera or Sirmione!

We did a wine tasting and tour of their vineyards as part of our honeymoon in Sirmione. Elisa was amazing - so knowledgable and answered all of our questions. The place is purely family run and is so lovely. They also sell lovely candles and other bits made from their wine bottles. Only downside was that we couldn’t take loads of wine home in our luggage but we will be contacting Elisa to order some! We also had yummy cheese/meat during the tasting - would recommend this to everyone!

The wine tasting experience was fantastic. Cascina Maddalena is a lovely small, family-run vineyard. Elisa talked us through the history of the family business and showed us around the vineyard and cellars, explaining the different processes involved. It was very relaxed but informative. The wine tasting itself was great. It was well paced and not rushed. We were given some lovely homemade nibbles to accompany the wines. Would highly recommend.

We had a fantastic wine tasting at Cascina Maddalena. The tour of the vineyard and winery was very interesting, and the winemaking process was explained clearly and with passion. The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly throughout our visit. The highlight was enjoying a glass of local wine on the terrace at sunset, surrounded by the beautiful vineyard scenery. Highly recommended!

Our tour, led by Serena, was a fantastic experience. Not only did we learn fascinating details about the history of the winery, located in a beautiful location, but Serena's enthusiasm truly made the visit memorable. The strawberry lemonade was so sweet I had to mix in an equal amount of water to be able to drink it. The lemon one was bitter and way too sour instead. I would only recommend the fruit mix as it was the only thing without a painfully apparent chemical smell. You should just buy ice cream in any of the numerous stores inside the castle if you're looking for a way to cool down in the summer heat. I've never been this disappointed by a lemonade stand.

This bronze bust is beautifully framed by vibrant flowerbeds, creating an enchanting atmosphere that feels almost magical. Visitors can admire this remarkable sculpture while enjoying stunning views of the lake and surrounding landscape. The periodic maintenance ensures its pristine condition, allowing it to serve as a guardian of history at this archaeological site and museum in Sirmione.

(Translated by Google) The landscape and conservation of this bronze bust deserve the utmost. But the climate and the lake are the creators of this result. Surrounded by a flowerbed you can observe it near the pier as if it were a guardian keeping watch. Periodic maintenance probably also contributes to the optimal conservation of this sculpture. Azienda Agricola Sgreva is a charming family-owned winery nestled in the scenic town of Sirmione, situated on the southern shores of Lake Garda. With roots tracing back to 1962, this winery is now under the stewardship of Giacomo and Vanessa, who are dedicated to upholding their ancestors' legacy while integrating modern techniques to enhance their wines.
We celebrated my wife's birthday at the wine yard with a tour, tasting and food. The service was really really good. Our guide was very knowledgable and did a great job to explain the special conditions for the local grapes and the process of making their wine. In total we tasted 6 wines and several different dishes paired with the wine. The total experience was very professional and personal. Would have given 6 stars if I could. Really recommend the place!!!

What a great experience! My wife and myself casually stopped and asked if we can have a small wine tasting experience. Chiara was extremely happy to host us. She explained to us clearly the wines and gave us a short introduction to the history of the winery. Adele, Liber and Etereo stole the show! Will visit again soon!
Andreas G — Google review
We had a great wine tasting last month and Chiara was a great host. She explained everything in fluent English and her wine knowledge is amazing. We started a tour of the farm, the grapes and then into the wine cellar. She explained the whole process and it was really interesting and very tasty. I'm guessing we had 10 different wines and some grappa topped off with Italian antipasti. If you are in Sirmione, I definitely recommend booking a wine tasting at Sgreva. Thanks to Chiara and her colleague it was our pleasure.

Wow! We learned so much at this fabulous winery tour! Chiera was a wealth of knowledge. Her English was incredible. There wasn’t a wine question that she couldn’t answer. Great wine and olive oil and grappa - also a fun afternoon!!

We had an awesome visit to the farm yesterday with a very informative wine tasting. We were lucky that it was only the two of us and so it was very personal. Our guide was lovely and the wine was great. The cheese, salami, bread and olive oil too. We could have spent the whole day there, tasting and chatting. We highly recommend a visit.
Warren W — Google review
I went for a wine tasting here in Sept 2022 and it definitely didn't disappoint. Our host was extremely friendly, spoke great English and was very knowledgeable about the grape to bottle process and it was extremely interesting to learn more about this. After a tour of the whole wine-making process, we starting our tasting which was paired with local cheese, salami and honey, all of which was delicious. The wine was fab and we loved learning more about understanding the flavours and notes of the different wines. I couldn't recommend the tour enough if you want a fun and relaxed afternoon near Sirmione. We found the public transport near Sirmione to be unreliable so would recommend booking a taxi collection ahead of time, but the team can help arrange this for you.

Nature & Parks
Spiaggia Punta Grò is a hidden gem for those who appreciate the beauty of natural beaches. Nestled among lush reeds and greenery, this sandy stretch offers a serene escape with its unique blend of pebbles and grass. Visitors can enjoy various amenities, including pedal boat rentals and sunbeds, making it perfect for both relaxation and adventure. The beach features a gentle slope into the water, ideal for families with children or anyone looking to wade in comfortably.
We were looking a place where there's grass and we found it, the Risotteria restaurant suggested us. Happy to have rest on the shadow animals around.
Loredana T — Google review
The beach itself is nice but you have to be careful when getting in the water as there are rocks of all sizes submerged underwater. Also when you eat something you may be visited by some unexpected visitors called the Swans and they loiter around your picnic area with the hope that you would share some of your food with them! On the plus side, there are plenty of trees there, so nice and shady and finally, during pick time finding a parking space nearby could be a bit difficult and the place is very busy and full!
