Nature & Parks
Hiking area
Garden of the Gods is a 1,300-acre park located just northeast of Colorado Springs. The park features an array of sandstone formations in various colors, offering picturesque landscapes for visitors. At the Garden of the Gods Visitor and Nature Center, guests can access hiking trails, biking paths, and even guided nature walks. The park's diverse trails cater to different difficulty levels, with a wheelchair-accessible 1.5-mile trail available for all to enjoy.
This is an awesome place to visit, and it's free! Nicely paved trail and it's accessible. Rock climbing can be arranged from what I saw on signs but you have to make contact with the location first. This is a great place for pictures of the Red rocks. Definitely worth the stop and visiting multiple times. This was my second trip and I enjoyed the rocks just as much.

Title: Geological Grandeur: A Study in Color and Contrast The Garden of the Gods offers an experience that is far more dramatic and detailed than a simple scenic drive. These photos illustrate the striking, almost painterly, quality of this National Natural Landmark, emphasizing the interplay between the ancient geology and the vibrant plant life. The dominant feature is, of course, the geological drama. The formations appear massive and imposing, showcasing stark red and orange colors under the brilliant Colorado sun. The images capture the incredible texture of the sandstone—the result of millions of years of deposition and subsequent tectonic tilting. Seeing these massive slabs of rock jutting sharply towards the sky, often framed by soft, puffy clouds, is a potent reminder of the earth's immense power. Furthermore, this place is an immersive trail experience. The dense, lively green foliage—primarily scrub oak and juniper—is a recurring element that beautifully frames the towering red monoliths. This foreground of nature provides a compelling contrast to the bare, dramatic rock, making the hiking and viewing experience feel intimate and immersive, even when viewing the massive formations. It suggests a park that is not just about viewing from a distance, but one that encourages stepping onto the trails to appreciate the varied ecosystems thriving right up to the base of the rock fins. The clear, blue skies and bright daylight guarantee exceptional photography, bringing out the maximum saturation in the red iron oxide of the rocks. Whether you are focused on the broad landscape views or the close-up texture of a specific formation, the Garden of the Gods is a mandatory stop for anyone visiting the Colorado Springs area, promising accessibility and a truly unforgettable visual spectacle.
Yusuf J — Google review
Garden of the Gods is an absolutely breathtaking place that feels almost unreal from the moment you arrive. The towering red rock formations create a stunning contrast against the bright blue sky, making every view feel picture-perfect. The maps along the trails are incredibly helpful, giving you a clear sense of direction while highlighting scenic overlooks and points of interest you won’t want to miss. The shuttle system is also very convenient, making it easy to get around the park without worrying about parking or long walks between major areas. I highly recommend bringing a water bottle, because staying hydrated makes the entire experience much more enjoyable, especially if you plan to explore several trails. Wearing comfortable hiking shoes is equally important, as some paths can be uneven, slightly uphill, or longer than expected. With the right gear, the walks feel relaxing rather than tiring. Despite being a popular destination, the park still manages to feel calm, refreshing, and peaceful. Whether you’re there for photography, hiking, or simply taking in the incredible scenery, it’s a place that leaves a lasting impression. Garden of the Gods is truly a must-see spot that showcases the natural beauty Colorado is known for.

A great experience with lots of beautiful scenery. We explored several landmarks along the trail and got to do a little rock climbing. Great for hiking and just walking around. Elevation is pretty high, being lots of water. I recommend wearing comfortable shoes and taking your time. Would be a great place to jog if youre into building stamina.
Amun Z — Google review
This place is amazing. You just keep saying "wow" at every turn. There's a central part that's easy to walk and has sidewalks, and if you go early and are quiet - you can spot deer and other wildlife. You may even see permitted climbers working their way up a rock face. There is a lot to see in the center loop; howeverrrrr, if you got your grippy shoes, water, and some snacks... then adventure off into any of the outer trails. They are all a "little to a lot" different from each other (terrain, elevation gain and difficulty, vegetation, etc) buttttttttttttt on any trail you take you will be meandering along when out of nowhere ROCK FORMATION!👁👄👁 The colors of the rocks are mostly red (those are sandstone that used to be dunes) and remind me of Red Rock Canyon in Nevada, but there are also beautiful quartz that look glittery in the sun, obsidian (I think) that looks like black glass, and stones/ rocks that look like someone painted them layer by layer. Sooo many different types of trees and plants. Watch out for the cacti; they're everywhere to the sides of the trails and are no joke (even though they look small). Overall, pretty easy hike on any trail - but you need good shoes or it will get slippery in some spots. Kids could do some of the trails, maybe all - just depends on your kid's endurance and balance. Just the last mile or so can be tough and that was because it was an incline with deep sand... but you can probably exit off of the trail to the main road before that and go a different way. Highly recommend.

Garden of the Gods is absolutely breathtaking! The towering red rock formations against the blue Colorado sky are stunning from every angle. The park is clean, well-maintained, and free to visit — a true gem! Whether you’re hiking, taking photos, or just driving through, every moment feels magical. The visitor center staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and the views from the overlooks are unforgettable. Definitely a must-see destination in Colorado Springs!
Mike H — Google review
Absolutely gorgeous. It is a free park with well paved trails that offer guided tours for free. You can also walk around at your own leisure. Pictures Absolutely do it no justice. We'll worth the time spent there
Brian B — Google review
Amazing place , family friendly. Enjoyed the well paved trails ; went during morning hours and just before sunset ! Pictures truly do not do justice at all! Free parking and free entrance . Were lucky to come across a group mountain goats during the day time and evening too! Red rock climbing signs are around and need permission with proper gear. Visitor info area with gift shop , cafe and restrooms available A must visit!

The Manitou Cliff Dwellings, originally situated near McElmo Canyon in Colorado, date back to 1200 and were relocated to Manitou Springs in 1907. These well-preserved cliff dwellings offer a fascinating look into the ancient past of the region, showcasing the ingenuity of the Ancestral Puebloans who once inhabited them.
Unfortunately we went when it was a flash flood, so it would probably be more enjoyable in nicer weather. However, I loved it! So interesting to learn about such a different time, and there’s so much history there. You buy tickets at the gate, and have access to the cliff dwellings/museum and cafe/gift shop. There’s also excellent views of the surrounding mountains.
Molly C — Google review
Informative. Dwellings are all in a single continous structure. The expedition (self guided) is a bit lackluster for me but an educational experience nonetheless. Great gift shop with an expansive assortment of items. Mountain views are phenomenal. A few images of the shop contents are definitely not all inclusive.
RN ( — Google review
We really enjoyed visiting this site. We had a few hours of free time and this was absolutely perfect. There wasn't any hiking or extreme elevation to get to the actual site, just park your vehicle and you are there. We were able to walk inside and the history of the Dwellings was well curated. The young man at the Tshirt sale area closest to the parking lot was a wealth of information on how the Dwellings were moved to preserve them in the late 1800's. It was her life's work and I am so grateful for her efforts in doing so for us to experience a bit of life for these indigenous people. If you have a little time take advantage of this exceptional experience. Beyond 5 ⭐s Dog friendly as well!!♥️

This was my 2nd visit and it's still one of my favorite places to visit. It's very close to Garden of the Gods, so it's a great place to visit same-day. They have a nice gift shop. I love that you can walk around in the ruins and that they are immaculate. It's nice to see a historic location that is immaculately clean. It's cool to imagine people living there. There is a cafe on the property, but it was not open during our visit.

A fascinating and beautifully preserved piece of Colorado history! The Manitou Cliff Dwellings offer an incredible opportunity to step back in time and experience how the ancient Ancestral Puebloans once lived. The structures are stunning up close, and being able to walk through and explore them makes it feel truly immersive. The museum is well done, with lots of interesting exhibits and artifacts that bring the history to life. The staff are knowledgeable, friendly, and happy to answer questions. The gift shop has a great selection of unique Native American crafts and souvenirs. Easy to get to, family-friendly, and a perfect blend of education and adventure. A must-see stop in the Manitou Springs area — five stars all the way!
Mike H — Google review
Visited the Manitou Cliff Dwellings with my child. The site is interesting for a quick look, but it’s quite small and doesn’t have much historical depth or interactive content. Kids might enjoy exploring the caves for a short while, but overall it feels a bit overpriced for what you get. Worth visiting once, but probably not something I’d go back to.
Prashant K — Google review
Interesting and photogenic stop near Colorado Springs. You can walk inside the reconstructed cliff dwellings and get hands-on with history, but it’s not an authentic ancient site. More educational exhibit than genuine archaeology—worth a visit if you go in with the right expectations.

Manitou Cliff Dwellings is such a great little place to visit. Definitely not as big as Mesa Verde, but there is still a lot to see and do. Highly recommend!

Miramont Castle Museum and The Queen's Parlour Tea Room is a must-visit destination in Manitou Springs. This 1895 chateau offers over 14,000 square feet of space with 40 authentically furnished Victorian-era rooms to explore. The castle boasts meticulously crafted architecture, including unique room designs and a grand staircase. Visitors can immerse themselves in history by exploring exhibits of vintage artifacts, artwork, firefighter and war memorabilia throughout the four-story building.
Let me start by saying the staff was so amazing! This place is great for any family adventure. Such interesting history and stories behind it. Any questions you have will be answered and they offer papers to show you the right way to go and lots of details. The gift shop was awesome offering things from sweets to jewelry. Overall I'll come back my wife and daughter had a great time!
Derek O — Google review
Stepping into the Queen's Parlour Tea Room at Miramont Castle felt like opening a page from a Victorian fairytale. Sharing high tea with my favorite girls was more than just a meal. It was a memory steeped in nostalgia, joy, and elegance. The four-course experience with its tender scones, savory bites, and a shareable duo of tea flavors, was a delicious journey through time. The final touch, a delightful tea dessert, was the perfect sweet ending to a soulful afternoon. A special nod to the staff, whose warm hospitality and storytelling brought the castle's 130 year legacy to life. Their passion and grace made every detail feel like part of a living history, where every tale and smile echoed the timeless charm of Miramont. The ambiance itself, what a treasure. The curated collectibles throughout the castle invite you to linger, reflect, and marvel. Every corner whisper of the past, offering beauty and serenity that transcends time. I recommend this family friendly heartwarming and unforgettable experience.

Went yesterday with my daughter husband and it exceeded our expectations! If you want to feel welcomed and have divine teas and delicious food look no further! Our server was delightful and witty and took such good care of everyone in the room. After the tea, tour the castle and talk to Kelly (aka the Duchess in the dungeon) and listen to her stories, she was AMAZING!! If your between having tea here or The Brown Palace where you pay twice the amount, go HERE! So happy we did!

This is an amazing self guided tour of a beautiful castle that has had a storied past. The staff here are super friendly and knowledgeable of the past uses of this building and prior to the tour beginning you are given a short history. The entrance fee is $15 and worth every penny. There are lots of stairs inside so be ready for some walking.
Bill L — Google review
A historic glimpse into the past. This castle is a beautiful masterpiece. I can say the ghosts are real as I had a wicked never felt before experience in the new military room. The teddy bears left for the children are heartbreaking but a nice tribute to remember them. Would glady go tour this castle again.

This review is about the Miramont high tea, not the museum. Wonderful experience! The tea room is well decorated, and the space is well utilized, with enough space to keep the conversations at different tables private. The food comes in several stages, all original, high quality, and tasty. You can choose two different teas—two teapots per person. You can add a cocktail for an additional charge. Friendly and professional service. You can also have some fun wearing one of the hats provided by the establishment. Reservations highly recommended.
Marcelo C — Google review
Loved doing the self guided tour. You can really take your time in there and just in all the historic beauty about this place
Samantha — Google review
We had an amazing high tea experience at the Queen's tea room today! The service was impeccable. The food was all delicious and my niece who is 10, enjoyed every bit of it and she felt very special and very celebrated. We did the tour of miramont Castle afterward and I'm so glad we did some fun and interesting history tidbits and a lot of very cool local history artifacts that you could get up close to, which was very rewarding. Because it's an old building, there's some uneven floors so that's the only thing to be aware of, but it is not anything that should prevent you from stopping by. Time and age does strange things to buildings.

The Broadmoor Manitou and Pikes Peak Cog Railway is a historic railway that has been offering scenic train rides to the top of Pikes Peak since 1891. Located near downtown Manitou Springs, this beloved attraction takes visitors on a journey through eight different life zones in brand-new railcars. The nine-mile trip reaches over 14,000 feet above sea level, providing breathtaking views of Ruxton Creek, Englemann Canyon, and Deer Park.
The Cog Railway was a fun family experience for us. I have personally hiked, biked, and driven on Pikes Peak over the years, so it was exciting to finally take the train! Amazing views, an informative and humorous guide, clear instructions on timing to board and return, kept everything right on time. Lots of wildlife around like marmots, big horn sheep and deer. It was unfortunately a bit cloudy at the top the day we visited, but on the train the views were great! Reasonable prices. Time at the top is limited so I would recommend doing the gift shop at the base instead of the summit.
Douglas H — Google review
The Cog Railway station in Manitou Springs is the perfect start to an unforgettable adventure up to Pikes Peak! The station itself is charming and easy to navigate, but what really stood out was how friendly and welcoming the staff were. From check-in to boarding, everyone went out of their way to make sure the experience was smooth and enjoyable. Riding the Cog train is such a cool and unique way to see Pikes Peak — relaxing, scenic, and absolutely breathtaking as you climb to the summit. You can sit back, enjoy the views, and learn a little about the history of this iconic mountain along the way. If you’re planning a trip to Colorado, the Manitou Springs Cog Railway is a must-do experience. It’s not just transportation, it’s part of the adventure! 🚂🌄
John M — Google review
Absolutely worth every cent to come on this train. Make sure you get the side with the three seats or when you buy your tickets, on the left side for the most scenic views. I was lucky enough to have Janine as my conductor and to weave a wonderful storytelling narrative as we went up Pikes Peak. On the way down she checks in with everyone one and then shares a few more stories. When most of the experience is on a train, you want the best person for the job. I hope I get her again on a return visit. The summit itself is very cold so don't forget your gloves! This is easily the most accessible 14,000ft mountain in America and probably the world. Such a unique experience for everyone. Just be sure to grab pictures first when you get to the top because the 40 minutes you're up there goes fast!
Alex S — Google review
This was so fun! The cog rail was very spacious, easy to board. We luckily went on a not so busy day so we weren’t cramped in the seats. The host (forgot his name but he was from Hawaii 🤙🏼) was very friendly and provided a lot of cool tidbits along the way. The sights were spectacular. We saw more on the 3-seat side but both sides had cool views. We weren’t able to get all the way to the top and they refund-discounted our tickets, but we still had an amazing time.
Sam C — Google review
The train ride was absolutely phenomenal. I highly recommend doing the conductor package. It is awesome riding in the very front on the way up however, on the way back, you are facing backwards, looking out the window, which makes it even cooler cause you get to see everything in both directions, not looking at any other people so again highly recommend the conductor package, absolutely stunning views the wildlife, and the donuts at the top if you got
Anthony G — Google review
You NEED to get tickets in advance for best experience and least waiting. You will be glad you did. This was a fantastic tour. We went in June, lots of snow on top of the peak. It was a beautiful ride up. We purchased the front row seat by driver and it was amazing. Our boys really learned a lot, worth the few extra dollars if those seats are open. It’s such an unobstructed view. Photos are like no other.
Lisa G — Google review
Great way to see pikes peak with lots of dramatic views. Tour guide was great and very informative. Only down side where that the train was pretty tight seating. If you are tall or pr plus sized it's going to be a rather uncomfortable ride. Also the views are much better from the 3 seat side than the 2, the train does not turn around the other direction so you ride on the same side coming back which was a bit disappointing as we didnt get quite as good a view as the other side. Still a great experience.
Alexander B — Google review
What can I say? This was the highlight of our too short Colorado trip! A perfect way to see the mountains while learning about the COG railway and its surrounding countryside. Our conductor was hilarious and informative. The views were spectacular! I’m already planning my return visit 💜

Video arcade
Manitou Springs Penny Arcade is a nostalgic gaming haven in Colorado, featuring a vast collection of arcade games spanning from vintage pinball machines to modern video games. It's an ideal family-friendly destination where kids can enjoy hours of entertainment at minimal costs. The arcade doubles as a museum, showcasing gaming history with machines dating back to the early 1930s or even earlier.
Such a fun place to go and play around for a couple hours or take the kids as well. If you have a machine that swallows your money and doesn’t do anything make sure you tell an attendant they are very helpful. We really enjoyed it, especially using our pennies, nickels and dimes on some of the older more random machines in the back of one of the largest buildings.
Jenevieve H — Google review
Easily the best place in Manitou. Perfect for a first date. So many things to do plenty of games great atmosphere. Would have loved to be here back when this was in its heyday. Staff is very frequently and everything is extremely cheap, which is pretty impressive considering it's location. This is a absolute must visit for anyone.

A must stop when visiting Manitou Springs. Fun for kids and adults. Stop at the Burger Bar next door, very large selection to choose from on thier menu, but also try the cannon balls, yum! Enjoy a stroll next to the river while shopping on main street. Fun day!
Amber F — Google review
Always a great place to take the kids. From very new arcade games alllllll the way to the early years of arcade! Super nostalgic and they do a wonderful job of keeping it that way as well as keeping the cost low. Most games are $.25. The newer ones are $1. There are the old original museum playable ones as well for $.05 - $.10!!! 9 different buildings with a wide variety of arcade.
Michael D — Google review
I’ve been visiting the Penny Arcade in Manitou Springs quite often since I was a kid, and I’ve always enjoyed the eclectic collection of coin operated games and machines available! A recent change in ownership has lead to an overall tidier appearance of the areas the machines are in and several older machines have been serviced, brought out of storage, and swapped with other games. While it is disappointing to see many games out of order, I understand that keeping these machines running well as they are supposed to is no easy task. I hope that with the new ownership some of the other worse for wear games get the love and attention they deserve and whatever new games that are added are interesting, entertaining, and do as well as the majority of what is there. Hopefully the changes are small and good! This place is dear to my heart and I’m glad it’s sticking around even under new ownership!
Josh C — Google review
Great concept but like a third of the machines were either out of order and multiple machines took our money. It is a great concept though. The games that did work were great. We may have just gone on a bad weekend.
Paige C — Google review
From an adult's viewpoint, the Penny Arcade is a fun, nostalgic place to spend an hour or two but I might have expected it to be better maintained. A lot of the games were out of order. Some were marked as out of order, but we lost money on several others that were not marked. I read the company is under new ownership and hope they will raise their standards before the place gets any worse. Just to clarify, the name "Penny Arcade" has some historical origin, but don't expect to find games that you can play for a penny. Most appeared to be 25 or 50 cents. Still a good deal, but manage your expectations. There are a lot of small shops and restaurants nearby. A walk around town is worthwhile.
Margaret O — Google review
Super fun place for kids. A lot of older games which were fun to play. Quarter machines were available throughout the area. Games gave tickets that could be redeemed for prizes. There were several rooms filled with games, they are all pretty close making the areas kinda tight. I recommend bringing water.

SunWater Spa, located in Manitou Springs near Colorado Springs, was inspired by the founders' journey to India's Ganges River. The spa offers solar-heated outdoor cedar tubs with stunning views, yoga classes, and a full spa menu including personalized mineral and essential oil infusions. Visitors can also experience the signature aquatic therapy called Watsu.
I really enjoyed this place and I wasn't expecting to! Our family of 4 went to experience the mineral bath/hot tub. Though it's not much different than a hot tub, you definitely leave without a gross feeling on your skin or a chlorine feel. What I appreciated the most were the amenities and facilities with your rental - sandals, towels, changing areas, salt water pools, 2 cold plunge tubs, showers, bathrooms, spring water to drink, lockers, and hammocks. Each bathroom had little bags for you to put wet items in when changing, a stool to help change, hooks to hang items, and menstrual hygiene products. The grounds themselves were quite pretty too! Most of the tubs were in the sun so you can get a nice tan. By each tub there was a chair and box for you to put items in. They clean the tubs between each use and give you a 5 minute warning for when your tub time is up - you can still use the facilities if needed.
Karleeann S — Google review
I enjoyed using the tub, pool, and the cold plunge. I also enjoyed the private sauna that came with my Mary's mountain tub reservation. I only wish that Mary's mountain tub was a little more private. Also, the bathrooms/changing area was quite small (two stalls and two showers). You should bring your own water and sandals.

First time visit for me and my lady's anniversary. Reserved a 90 minute soak in the Iron Mountain tub. What a great place this is! The views are amazing, and the tubs are warm. The also have cold plunges, and a saline pool. Great place for a date. We're definitely going back!

Wow what a fun thing to experience. The staff are fun and totally trying to make it like Aveda. It can be fun if you’re a first timer at the spa. We loved it because we live a little more simple life. We did the cold-plung as a first. It’s fun to experience the different pools and the sauna.

Beth and the entire staff made our wedding anniversary one to remember! Everything was absolutely perfect - the saline pools, sauna, and tubs offered a variety of ways to relax and unwind, and the view from the Mary's Mountain Tub was breath-taking. Definitely the highlight of our trip to CO! Thank you ❤️

I went to SunWater with 3 friends yesterday. We had a magical and deeply relaxing experience. The water in our tub was crystal clear and the temp was just right to melt tension in my body. The cold plunge and sauna were also super clean and freezing and hot! Just the way I like em! The changing rooms and showers were spotless and so beautiful. I really slowed down and felt at peace. Lots of laughing and sharing too. Thank you SunWater❤️

Check in was so easy and the ladies at the front desk were very sweet! The 8 am early bird special for a 90 minute soak was beyond worth it. So peaceful with a beautiful view. Would definitely go back again!

My husband and I went here for a day date to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I was an easy drive from Denver and we had an incredible experience all around. We enjoyed a 90min soak in a private tub and took advantage of the cold plunge and dry sauna. Then we had a couples deep tissue massage and that was truly the icing on the cake. My masseuse, Rachel, was fantastic. My husband’s masseuse was Danielle and he said it was one of the best messages he’s had as well. We recommend both of them highly and can’t wait to go back and book the whole experience again!

This free museum showcases exhibits on various aspects of the town's heritage, including its education system, Pikes Peak Railway, Manitou Incline, and local art collections. Visitors can look forward to a new exhibit featuring Pulitzer-winning photojournalist images of the Pikes Peak Hill Climb opening in June.
You can’t beat free for sure. It’s a cute little museum with information about manitou springs. You can probably get through everything in about 15 to 30 minutes. Worth checking out if you want to know more about the area.

This is a free little museum in manatou springs, they also sell little fold up souvenir cups to sample the mineral springs around town, they are 1 for $3 OR 2 FOR $5 It is a little small but they have interesting exhibits it's definetly worth stopping in

This is so full of information! You better come ready to learn! It had a little bit of everything for the history of Manitou Springs. The highlights for me were the men who pushed peanuts up Pikes Peak with their noses and the pottery/art collection of Van Briggle. The person at the desk was distracted and not friendly. She barely greeted us. On the other side, I learned a lot about the town.

The person working really knows their history as they should. Very welcoming and kind. Glad to give my patronage to a place such as this.

Intimate space with tucked away corners that feature the history of Manitou Springs, and its popular attractions, local celebrities, and events, like the Hill Climb. Small souvenir area. Quick visit; maybe 30/45 minutes, but a nice stop.

LOVED this! My husband and I took our 13 year old son. We were lucky enough to zip line in the snow! We are from South Carolina and will never have that type of experience again. The guides were super funny but were serious if you needed an answer. They kept it fun! Definitely recommend it if you’re visiting and looking for family fun.

Had so much fun yesterday! Went to go zip lining on my birthday and it was great! Elle and Ronan were our guides and it was such a fun time. They are informative and just made our time so enjoyable! We came in at 9 am and there are 5 ziplines and a very short walk between them which wasn’t so bad! Definitely would come again!

Wildly fun place. We booked early (so should you) and really enjoyed the experience. Great guides and the time involved in the activities definitely equals the monetary value. Great attention to safety by the entire staff and the lessons you get asking the way really allows you to step outside your comfort zone and try new tricks. We have some young kids as well as older crazies in our group so this is perfect for a family, date, or just something fun to do. We highly recommend them and look forward to other offers they have.

We had a great adventure, and all of the staff are friendly and professional. Devon and Nick where our zip line guides, very focused on safety yet plenty of time to tell corny dad jokes. We only carried water but didn’t need to because there are water stations at various points. We had six nice runs, not the longest but plenty of speed and a couple spots to go upside down for those inclined. Thoroughly enjoyed, and a fair price point for this neighborhood.

Very cool experience. I love how our guides taught and encouraged the group to try new tricks depending on the line. Nolan in particular is professional, genuine and kind. Definitely a family friendly adventure.

My family had fun ziplining at Adventures Out West Pikes Peak zipline. We had a mixed party including a 6, 8 and 12 year old. They all had fun and it was the first time zipping for the younger ones. The company was well organized and equipment was in good condition. The guides were helpful and entertaining and full of funny snarky corny jokes, which I can appreciate and had the kids giggling. If you have zipped before, it's not the longest or most challenging ziplines, but the mountain views are gorgeous and the first timer kids had no issues getting the hang of it. The non participating family members also were able to come along and had a good vantage point of the action. We all had a good family fun time!

We did the ziplines and had a really fun time. The guides were very professional, but also extremely funny. We might even go again the next time we are in town!

We had a BLAST! Vacationing from Texas and decided to do some last minute zip lining! Carter and Jack were amazing and super funny guides! We booked at 8am and had the course all to ourselves! Would recommend 10/10

Performing arts theater
Nestled at the western edge of Manitou Springs, Iron Springs Chateau is a delightful dinner theater that offers a unique blend of hearty American cuisine and engaging melodramatic performances. This charming venue, one of the last remaining melodrama theaters in the U.S., invites guests to immerse themselves in its lively shows filled with audience participation—where you can boo the villain or cheer for your favorite hero!
You have to go here! The shows are very interactive and will keep your attention the entire time. Personally I think Koda was my favorite actor!! But every last person involved: the pianist, backstage lady, and main actors were amazing. I know you will appreciate attending a play here and getting to see what amazing talents these cast has. Thank you for your hospitality and energy!!

What a fantastic jewel! We had such a lovely time here with dinner and a show. The ladies that welcome you to dinner are a hoot, they don't mind getting and giving a hard time to their customers, lots of fun. The dinner service is fast, efficient and friendly! Get the souvenir glass, it's worth it. Dinner is pot roast or chicken, you decide when you order your tickets. The cast is in character from the word go, they escort you to your chairs for the show. Bell Do Gooder (Lauren A Smith) is a sweet doll. The show is funny and the olio is even better. Loved our time here and some old timers said it's been this way for 50+ years. We will be back the next time we are in Manitou Springs.

Six of us went to Iron Springs for my friend’s birthday. We had a great dinner, and we were about to go upstairs to see the play, but then my friend got an emergency call and had to leave before the show. It was her birthday so we didn’t want to see the show without her so Dolores(one of the owners) was so sweet and caring and said that we could come back another night to watch the play. That was so thoughtful! The atmosphere was great. The staff were wonderful, and I can’t wait to go back! Highly recommend!
Lohigh J — Google review
What a gem of a theater! We both left pleasantly surprised and said it was our favorite date night in a long time. The food was excellent and they were able to accommodate a vegetarian with allergies. The show was hilarious and the talent incredible - singing, dancing, costumes, variety of the first and second acts. They have really thought of everything and we will definitely be back. Thanks to the whole crew!

BLUF: must go, must see. If you haven't done so, book the show ticket now. Very affordable and very entertaining. We didn't dine in, just went for the show "Pirates of the Carabiner". We were afraid that it would be super crowded and we would sit way far in the back bc we got there almost 7:30 but thankfully it was assigned seats and the seats are on multiple levels like the real theater, so we still got good view, granted it was 1/3 full on a Friday. Parking was full though so the staff was kind enough to let us use one of the handicap spots since there was no need on that night. So thankful bc it would have been a treacherous walk in high heels. They had 2 parts: first part was the play which was entertaining, intermission, then the comedy. Dear, I laughed so hard that tears came out of my eyes nonstop bc of an unexpected response from the audience. They really engaged w the audience so that's a plus. Overall it was very entertaining. Way better than we expected. They did "suggest" for tips at the end of the show, with the members of the show greeting us on the way out (and 2 members on the way in too) which is very personable. I like it. I'd rather they ask for tips like that than raising ticket prices. Oh, and the pianist, Abigail Carcich is unbelievable. She played almost the entire 2 hours for the show. And she looks really good. Love her evening gown opening in the back too. Wow!!!! We'll likely be back for the next play. Keep it up, staff, crews, everyone!!!

We HIGHLY recommend this theatre experience. The staff were so kind and the show was hilarious. It’s very interactive but in a friendly, good humored and fun way. We will be back next time we are in the area.

What a wonderful vaudeville night! My husband and I haven't really gone out much in the last few years. I felt like Belle of the ball and was even in the itsy bitsy teenie weenie dance! It was so fun to interact with the actors! The skits were entertaining, hilarious and beautiful! We've already planned our next 3 dates here. And a special thanks to Manny Overboard for too many laughs. 😆🦀

Cave of the Winds Mountain Park is a historic cave system discovered in 1880, featuring 10,765 feet of surveyed passages. The Discovery Tour provides an overview of its history and geology, showcasing unique formations like stalactites and stalagmites with intriguing names. This limestone cavern became a tourist attraction in the late 19th century after being explored by two brothers.
Beck’s was a good tour guide. Cave tour was full of groups and some waiting for others to pass. We came in a Sunday in October and it was packed. Got some good photos and videos of the cave. I wish there was a good lookout point to record the zip lining besides against a fence. Food is pricey to me so I did not get any. Nice place. Would come again
Spanky H — Google review
This was a fun and interesting experience, and our young kids (5 and 2.5) had a good time and enjoyed the tour. Our guide was pleasant, knowledgeable, and kept things light/fun. My only complaint is that the cave itself left something to be desired, because of how long it takes for stalagmites/stalactites to grow in that specific cave, they're all pretty small and there aren't many large, expansive areas, it just seemed small. We still had a great time and I hate to complain about something they can't control, just wanted to mention it. Still worth going, especially with kids. We did the mining activity at the end, and our kids loved "panning" for gemstones, they even found a few little chunks of fools gold! Oh, and there are great views from the balcony outside the gift shop.
Emily V — Google review
My family visited Cave of the Winds when I was a kid, so I thought it'd be nice to come back. It's smaller than I remember...but I've grown since then so yeah, it's not surprising. Our guide, Tracy, was an absolute joy to spend the hour with. He was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and I could tell he loves what he does. There were some young children (about the same age I was when I first visited) in our group and he was wonderful with them, teaching about the cave in a manner that kept them, and the adults interested. I'm glad I was able to come back and see the cave again.
Rose V — Google review
We came out for the discovery cave tour in May/June 2025. Upon arrival around 10AM on a Friday morning, there was no wait to get into the park and parking was a breeze with two attendants directing traffic. Caution on the (short) curvy road, especially on your way back down. The person working the front box office/ticket booth was super nice and got me quickly checked in with fool-proof instructions for exactly what to do and where to go next for our tour. Our tour guide, Tracy, was wonderful! You can tell they've been doing this a long time with the information they shared, peppered in with lots of funny jokes. Our favorite was that you can't touch the stalactites or the stalagmites but make sure to touch every "stalag-PIPE" (the railings! 🤣) We enjoyed learning about the history and science of the caves. An unforgettable experience for all ages! There's a good amount of stairs throughout the tour and some spots where you need to duck and curve around, so keep that in mind if mobility is a concern. They will also take your photo with your family in the cave and offer it to you for purchase at the end of the tour in a nice little commemorative envelope/frame thingy. Nice little souvenir that fits easily in carry on-bag. They have an observation deck with a gorgeous view below and all around. Just inside from there is seating, and food&Drink available for purchase. I recommending booking your cave tour in advance especially if going on a weekend or have more than 2-3 in your party, to ensure you get in the time you want!

Our group got to spend the night in the cave! We showed up after the park closed and did an in depth tour crawling, climbing and exploring the cave. Got completely muddy! It was an amazing experience! The staff was so great answering all of our questions and giving a ton of history of the cave. We had Colton, Klaus, Morgan and Reagan. They handled our group of 30+ gracefully and full of fun, all while keeping us safe! Totally recommend any of the tours for all ages.
Taryn N — Google review
It was ok. Ive been to many caves in this country. This cave was... ok. The formations werent spectacular, they had some cool ones, but overall there wasn't a whole lot. They have a lot of other activities here to keep the kids interested. Its a cool place, lots to do and see. The cave was just a little underwhelming.
Jonathan W — Google review
We went on a haunted lantern tour of the caves with our guide Klaus & had the BEST time! The stories, guidance, humor and history lessons were top notch. Such a cool experience and an incredible way view the mountain on a different level. Highly recommend!
Ashley C — Google review
Hour long "discovery tour" brings you through lit areas of the cave. Pathway is somewhat narrow, includes multiple sets of stairs with handrails, and is a chilly 60 degrees. Guide was very good about keeping group together and having us mind our heads on low passages. It wasn't one of the more majestic looking caves I've been in in terms of rooms or formations, but was a fun and easy tour.

Awesome family-friendly spot with great beer and food. Came during a busy summer weekday, and service was extremely welcoming. Food came out fast. Beer was delicious. Highly recommend and will definitely be back.

ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL!!! We walked in 35 minutes before close, and they were so eager & happy to help us. Server had great knowledge of beer and menu. We ordered a little bit of everything, and it was all so so good. Outdoor patio seating was a vibe, inside was loud, but to be expected. Love the closeness and atmosphere of the entire restaurant. Would go back and recommend to everyone. Ordered: Shishito peppers, cauli-shroom street tacos, parmesan garlic, chicken wings, Steak and mushroom pita. Food was unique and full of flavor.

The food was very good! Food service was extremely quick. It took a little bit to be greeted and get our order taken, once that happened things moved quickly in our favor as we were definitely hungry 😋. Our pretzels were so soft and delicious it was hard not to order more. The burger was cooked to perfection. Beer was delicious and cold. I love me a flight!!!

Fun place to have a birthday drink or four. Enjoyed the flight and each beer was good. Everyone also enjoyed their food. There didn't seem to be a kids menu but my two loved the small plate (soup bowl) of bacon Mac and cheese. My wife raved about the brat they made and I really liked the Bronco burger. The top item was the truffle fries though. The atmosphere was great and our server was excellent.

This place is a gem! The food is great, the wings and steak tacos being my favorite, and there is such a charming atmosphere. Beer selection was also stellar. Service was incredible, friendly staff and our food arrived in minutes! Would definitely recommend if stopping in the Manitou area.

Excellent beer in trendy downtown Manitou. They built a really cool place here with the entrance in an alley off the main drag. Our server was a cicerone and a sommelier, with tons of great info about what we were drinking and hops/grapes grown in Colorado. Also, the beer was fantastic! Pro Tip: They do half pours and flights if you want to try more than one or two.

Waterfalls
Rainbow Falls is a charming and low-key hiking trail located in Manitou Springs, featuring graceful waterfalls, swimming pools, and picnic areas. The area holds historical significance as it was once inhabited by the Ute Indian tribe who considered the falls to be sacred. The name 'Rainbow Falls' comes from the rainbow that appears in the spray.
Getting there & Parking: We put it into our maps and found that parking was slim pickings. Since we had 7 kids with us….😳….we decided to pay for the shuttle ($20). It was really nice and the driver was wonderful! Bathroom: They have a port a potty right when you enter the area. My 6 year old remarked on how large it was and it was very clean. At the falls: I recommend water shoes and a swim suit under a set of clothes. We brought towels and helped our kids change out of them when they were done. The waterfall was beautiful and the kids were so excited to go inside! I am so glad we went. It was beautiful and they loved the (COLD!) water.
Ashley R — Google review
We came the day after Rainbow Falls reopened and parked in the new parking lot and paid to ride the shuttle to the entrance, which worked great until it broke down. When we were ready to go the shuttle did not return for almost an hour. We asked for updates on the shuttle and the staff said they could not communicate with the shuttle, which was inconvenient. All of the staff members working there were very friendly and helpful. Outside of the shuttle experience, the waterfall itself was gorgeous and it was a wonderful experience for our family!

Beautiful place, also a nice place to cool off. Has a waterfall behind the one pictured. It is worth dressing appropriately to walk back there. Its also 20 dollars per car for the main parking area. There will be a guy who picks you up and drives you to the area. From there the waterfall is only about a 5 minute walk. Pretty awesome. Also, its under a somewhat modern bridge.. looks very fallout esthetic, if you've ever played that game.
Silverado N — Google review
Very easy walk up to the falls. Prior to the repairs, parking was free on the street. That's no longer the case. If you plan ahead to arrange parking, it is worth a quick stop.
Samantha Y — Google review
The waterfall is spectacular. The water is very cold and clean and you can walk right up to the waterfall and explore the cave inside if you wish. The parking is $20 and they drive you the 2 minutes down to the waterfall entrance which is then a 5 minute walk to the waterfall. Part of the money goes back to the county to maintain the falls. Great times and recommended.
Leo G — Google review
Beautiful and worth a visit! You can even swim if you'd like.
Sandra D — Google review
After a two and a half year closure to solve a parking problem (too many cars hit by falling rocks in the old lot)… Rainbow Falls is open for an experience of a lifetime! With the graffiti art reminding the visitors of the hope in pain, you may want to visit earlier than you’ve planned… The plan according to the park staff is to cover this art up. And I understand as some of the words may offend sensitive eyes. 👀 However without the history of the place…it is just not as colorful. If you go, hope to get a shuttle ride with the best jeep tour guide in the company. His name is Augustus. He’s been in the area since the early 80’s and offers private jeep tours as well! George was the other pro from a company in which I was thoroughly impressed. He was just as knowledgeable as also super personable and uplifting to the whole team. He was super jind and skso iept the new lot immaculate from trash Inside I met Ryan who happened to be going to do a last round of trash pickup, himself. As we walked to the falls he was kind enough to share his expertise on the geological history of the place in terms of millions of years and type of rocks including igneous 🪨 and described the conditions that were present in the area to yield such noticeable differences in the color and make of the rocks. If I could have made a tour of the place I would have done it this way. This place is amazing!! Link is to a video of this https://youtu.be/qLfCLOn-kUQ?si=cZMWU4ZQQt_5095W Kudos Colorado! Well done !👍

The Flying W Ranch Chuckwagon Suppers and Original Western Stage Show in Colorado Springs offers a taste of the Old West with its chuckwagon dinners and lively western stage performances by the Flying W Wranglers. In addition to these main attractions, visitors can enjoy Native American Dancing exhibitions, cattle roping demonstrations, horseback riding, hiking trails, axe-throwing competitions, horseshoeing demonstrations, and rides on the Russell M. Wolfe Narrow Gauge Railroad.
Our family had the best time at Flying W Ranch! I definitely recommend getting there early, there’s so much to enjoy! Cast iron campfire cornbread, so many animals, a carriage ride, train ride, short hike with spectacular views, see the original recipe library and a fun store. The food was served fast and was so delicious, and there was plenty for seconds. The staff is all so helpful, joyful and kept the kids and me laughing. To top it all off, the band was spectacular- entertaining family friendly jokes, incredible instrumentation and 5 part harmonies. Excited to make this part of our usual vacation fair whenever we’re out in Colorado!

Absolutely fantastic venue for an outdoor event with all of our colleagues! We appreciate that they had traditional bull riding and wrangling. All the staff here were friendly and accommodating. It was amazing how they were able to serve about 500 people in less than 20 minutes. Our food was fantastic, the beef brisket was smoked to perfection and the baked beans were awesome. We loved the traditional live western music with the flying W band and we were able to do some line dancing and country music after the western music show..

We went to our first show this evening. Let me just say...amazing! Our family had such a wonderful time and it was well worth the price. The property is absolutely beautiful and the activities are very enjoyable. It is definitely family friendly. It was refreshing to see them portray God, family and country. Food was great and they got everyone through the line quickly. The entertainment was on point! Classic western music...we will definitely be coming back for the Christmas show. Thank you all for the wonderful experience **the only minor issue I had was the young lady who was doing the checkout at the merchandise counter was not very friendly and just came across like she had an attitude or didnt want to be there (maybe she was having a bad day)..BUT still is well deserving of 5 stars**

I have so many great things to say I'd end up writing a novel about the experience that my whole family had. From being picked by Adam to ring the dinner bell, the delicious meal they served, and 5 of the best darn Cowboys who can make some of the best music together...it's all just jaw dropping. By the time dinner started, I could throw an axe and actually stick it in the wood and my two boys could shoot bullseye with the bow and arrows. They have emu's , big horn sheep, and other animals to check out, and to top it off, a nice little train ride for the whole family to enjoy. The whole experience is extremely well organized, and let me tell you they've had plenty of experience (since 1947) to make sure everything is fantastic. This ranch is very well kept, the staff are beyond friendly and willing to go the extra mile if you need something. I'm sure I left so much out of this review, but I can guarantee this...If you attend one of the dinners you will have a great time. I would absolutely recommend this experience to anyone and everyone. If you really wanna have more fun..dress up like a cowboy..we did!!!

We REALLY enjoyed the whole experience! Food was great. Brisket and chicken cooked perfectly. Show was everything we could have wanted. Wonderful singing and instrumentation. Now the bad part- the seating is very uncomfortable for anyone with a back problem OR the elderly who can't sit on a bench. There needs to be stadium seats for rent. Our parents loved the show but were uncomfortable enough to not return. Still giving the whole experience a 5 star.

Ugh, where do I even begin with The Loop in Manitou Springs? My sister was visiting from out of town, and we were looking forward to a nice meal based on some of the reviews we'd seen. Boy, were we ever wrong. First off, the food was just plain awful. Seriously, how do you mess up enchiladas? They managed it. And the tamales? They tasted like they'd been marinating in vinegar. Just disgusting. For that kind of quality, you'd expect the prices to be rock bottom, but nope - we shelled out $70 for this garbage. The service was somehow even worse than the food. Our waiter seemed to be actively avoiding us. He spent most of his time planted at the bar with his laptop or wandering around chatting on his phone. No smiles, no checking in, simply take orders and deliver terrible food. And it wasn't even busy! There were maybe three other tables occupied. The whole place felt dirty, which just added to the unpleasantness. I honestly don't understand how this place has any good reviews. Maybe we caught them on a spectacularly bad day with multiple staff sitting around and physical dirt on the floors, but honestly, I wouldn't risk it. Save your money and your taste buds and go somewhere else. We definitely won't be back. Good luck if you decide to try it – you'll probably need it!

It took a while for us to get a waitress to serve us. When the waitress arrived she was very apologetic. The atmosphere did not really give me Mexican vibes and I'm Hispanic. The food was good. Could have had a little more flavor, but overall we would come again.

The Loop is a fantastic spot that never fails to deliver a great experience. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick bite or meeting friends for a casual outing, the atmosphere is always lively and welcoming. The menu offers a nice variety of options, with something for everyone, and the food is consistently fresh and tasty. I especially enjoy the friendly and attentive service — the staff really make you feel valued as a customer. It’s a comfortable place to relax, enjoy good company, and indulge in some delicious meals. Overall, The Loop has become one of my favorite go-to spots, and I highly recommend giving it a try if you haven’t yet!

The manager, Kat, is by all means an amazing member of your team. I was in last night with my cousins for dinner. Our waiter was great, but Kat handled a small issue regarding the eggs, flawlessly. Her approach, demeanor, professionalism and understanding were on point. In a world where Customer Service is lacking, your staff, namely Kat, is exceptional. Later she handled an unfortunate situation outside with care and compassion, regarding another individual. Her character definitely shines through. I'll be back soon because of Kat. Thank you for a great experience.

Carly was our server and she was awesome!! Lennon was very helpful, friendly and did a great job! The food was the best we have had in a long time in its category!!!! The margarita was perfect! We will definitely return!! Thank you for making our Sunday family experience amazing!!!

My parents and I came in last week and sat at the bar with Kat and had the best time! Food was fantastic, drinks were delicious, but the cherry on top was sitting with Kat! She made the experience so memorable and even though I live in Denver I’ll DEFINITELY be coming back! (Also the queso is amazing)

Had their vegetarian burrito and it was quite good! Their salsa dip was hot and the chips were unsalted. Would definitely recommend the place for the burrito.

A fantastic experience and great value! The self-guided tour is immersive and informative, making you feel like you’ve stepped back into the 19th century. Perfect for a relaxed hike combined with a historical journey. Highly recommended for families and history lovers alike.

If you enjoy history, this is an amazing stop to add to your travel list! Because no one in my party knows how to follow directions, or listen, we did it completely out of order, and it was still amazing! Every single tour was spectacular and informative! I greatly enjoyed visiting the ranch, and that's what matters, since I'm the reason we went. Ha! Watching the Blacksmith was incredible, buying ranch made souvenirs, and seeing everything kept to period was chefs kiss! Thank you all, but especially to Della(sp) you're my hero! 💜

Rockledge Ranch is the most peaceful oasis in the city. Families can come visit the ranch at any time after hours or off season to see the farm animals and living history sites. It’s a great place for a picnic or easy walk in nature for people of all ages and abilities. During events and summer hours, the living history program offers hands-on learning opportunities so you can experience life in the late 1800s just as it was on this very same property. I often walk behind the ranch around sunset when I’m feeling down and undoubtedly leave refreshed. Rockledge Ranch is open to anyone for a variety of activities depending on the season and event schedule. Always wholesome, always family friendly, always the perfect getaway to reflect on years past.

You have the option to walk through for free or pay to be able to go into the buildings and learn about the history. They have knowledgeable staff and activities for the kids, like crafts. Made for a fun afternoon.

A deeply beloved place, and rightfully so, considering the mix of history and rugged natural beauty that it offers to both children and adults. Though a native of Colorado Springs, I had not visited here in a while, perhaps not since I was a small child, and I was quite impressed by how accessible the historic sites are. In the summer, there are living history demonstrations that showcase with exquisite detail and much eagerness certain periods from early Colorado history. These demonstrations are a large part of what draw visitors here, but the area is still extremely charming to walk around even off-season. Many of the monoliths of Garden of the Gods are visible from here, with significantly fewer crowds. When the sun shines brightly on the meadow and the wind rasps softly through the high grass, the buildings look absolutely enchanting. There is an array of farm animals here that will please children, and anecdotally, I heard a line of children chanting "an-i-mals" as they were walking toward the sheep. I personally adored the old masonry walls still present and ruined form and thoughtfully restored, as well as the example of a beautiful Spanish revival style Edwardian estate. There's something for everyone here, and I was fortunate enough to come when they were setting up for the 4th of July, and everywhere was festooned with patriotic banners.

Beautiful, expansive place to visit. Attended with the whole family (ages 5 to 75) and we all had a blast. Easy free parking, and reasonably priced tickets for the event (an old-timely homestead tour and baseball game). Chill vibes, clean, well cared for place. Seems accessible if that’s needed, except inside the homesteads. This place is highly recommended.

What a nice way to spend the 4th of July! I really enjoyed the outfits and the history. It was so sweet watching all the little kids enjoy the 4th. I felt like that's how it should be, not just fireworks!! Good food, pie and lemonade!!

The Colorado Custard Company is a great place to get delicious ice cream. They have many customizable options, and the staff are always very friendly and helpful. The apple pie custard was especially delicious.
One of the highlights of my Denver trip was eating this frozen custard! A cute walk-up with so many custard concretes and shakes to choose from . I ordered the Mountaineer with strawberries instead of raspberries, and served with lots of hot fudge. It’s the perfect summer treat after visiting the Pikes Peak or Red Rock canyon!

We loved our cookie dough sundae! Great toppings and a nice bonus getting a discount for paying with cash. We will definitely be revisiting!

Tried this spot for the first time today, we ordered the Java avalanche and the thin mint avalanche. Both were absolutely delicious, we also really got a kick out of the joke for the tip. Really friendly service ! The prices there were also very reasonable.

We’ve come here multiple times during our trip and each time have been met with exceptional service and delicious custard at a great price point. Our favorites were the Single Track and the Mountaineer avalanches, but you really can’t go wrong with anything. The staff are super friendly, quick, and accommodating—they even tell jokes for tips which is a fun touch and adds to the charm of this little shop. We will definitely be back!

In a day and age where it feels like customer service has completely gone by the wayside, I am in awe of this place. Not only is the custard delicious and well priced, but the gentleman working was so KIND. Our kiddo spilled a milkshake all over just a few minutes after leaving the counter. He helped us get it all cleaned up and then brought out a brand new milkshake after half had spilled. A great little spot to grab a treat as you walk through the streets of Manitou Springs.

Update: After hearing back from the owners, I realize that they are new to the business (less than 1 month) and are still learning the ropes, so to speak. I do believe in extending grace in situations like this, so I bumped the original score to 4 stars instead of 3 with the belief that the speed of service will improve over time. Original post: After reading several reviews, we decided to try this custard place. I parked near the park, so we had a 5 minute walk there. Since it is paid parking, I went to the one of the parking machines and saw you can get 30 minutes of free parking, which I selected, figuring we’d have plenty of time. When we arrived, the line was long, maybe 10-12 people. I soon realized that this line wasn’t really moving. After standing there for 20 minutes, I left my family in line, walked back to the car, drove around looking for a closer spot and got back to my family. There were still people in front of them. When we got to the window, I realized why. There was one person both taking the orders and making each item. Another person was cleaning and doing other things around the kitchen area. That person did help a little bit with our order. So how was the custard? It was good, but it didn’t stand out to me as anything special. We ordered two Turtle Splits and one custom Avalanche with cookie dough. As I said, everything was good. I’ll also add that it was a very fair price. (Note: The menu prices are cash prices; there is a small fee to use credit card.) Seating options were limited around the side of the building. When we were ready to leave, we tried to find a trash can. They didn’t have one that we could find, so we put everything in one of the public trash cans nearby. So would I recommend this place? If you like custard and don’t mind a long wait, absolutely. If there’s no wait, then definitely give it a try!

Located in Colorado Springs, the Space Foundation Headquarters and Discovery Center is a top science and technology destination in the Pikes Peak region. It offers interactive STEAM education with diverse exhibits such as the Lockheed Martin Space Education Center, where visitors can engage with cutting-edge modeling software and program robotic land rovers for Martian terrain. The center also features the Northrop Grumman Science Center's Science on a Sphere, which projects real images of celestial bodies.
The place was absolutely wonderful. So interactive, caring staff, and really fun place. I cannot recommend it enough. We made buttons, alien headbands, there were drone races and practicing using a rover. So much fun for kids of all ages.

Drove an hour here for homeschool day and was a little disappointed. First, there was some confusion about pricing because many Facebook posts mentioned the event was free. The website says 1st child is $15, each additional child $12. I had to call to clarify and was told it would be $15 for each parent as well. $45 for a homeschooling family of three is a little steep, in my opinion, for what is offered here. We are a one-income family, perhaps they don't understand that I don't get paid to teach my child at home? We went because we had already made plans and my daughter was excited. The sphere talk was kind of cool and the workshop activity was fun. The gentleman running that was great. The various labs were mostly closed while we were there and had scheduled times they were supposed to be open but by that time, we'd already been there for almost three hours and didn't want to wait another hour for someone to open the labs but we did so we went around and did each of the independent exhibits which were ok, a little boring and didn't take up much time. We waited outside the drone lab at the scheduled time but no one showed up. We went to ask someone and a gentleman let us in and was trying to show us the drones but it was obvious he didn't know how to operate anything. He went to get someone else and a woman showed up and said the exhibit was closed because all the drones were charging, I think. It was hard to understand her because she had a mask on. We tried the 3-D printing lab and they were full so we did the exhibit again and then waited outside the rover lab until they opened. The rover lab was ok, the rover kept malfunctioning and the attendant had to keep walking onto the exhibit to fix it. The 3D printing pen lab was fun, the gentleman there was really friendly. All in all, I don't think we'll come back and I'm not sure I'd recommend this place. Definitely not a place you'd want to spend all day at and I don't think they should be charging parents $15 for entrance fee on homeschool day.

Really sad and disappointed in this place. My kids were excited to have a fun day here, instead we were pulling our kids out of the building after one of their elderly employees decided it was ok to tell my autistic son he needed to “be quiet” because everyone will just be listening to him. This was all 3 minutes before their presentation was supposed to start. He also wouldn’t let us sit on the opposite side because “I don’t want to have to get up and walk around”. My autistic son didn’t even have a chance to try to calm himself down and was so excited to watch the globe. It was absolutely embarrassing and disgusting to be treated this way with a special needs child. Not only did this jerk do this to our family, but when we were leaving he said “we will think of you” this employee should be fired at the very least!
M M — Google review
So much learning and exploration to behold here! You can drive rovers on “mars”, fly drones, explore real rockets ships, make kinetic sand structures, make 3D printed astronauts and buttons, launch a paper rocket, do a scavenger hunt and many other activities. We’ve been multiple times, and taken friends, and it’s always been fun while educational!
Alexandra K — Google review
This place is a great place to learn. Everyone working here is very knowledgeable. They have lots of interesting exhibits. I learned a lot of new information.Driving the rovers was fun. Definitely a great place for kids! Loved the rocket trash cans.
Oqbah T — Google review
What a great place! We only had two hours to explore but could have spent much more time. Our kids especially enjoyed flying drones, walking on the moon, driving Mars rovers, and making their own 3D pen creation. The staff are helpful and engaging with the kids. When our daughter was upset that her 3D pen creation didn't look like anything and she couldn't figure it out, the staff member was so kind and helped her to feel better about what she had made. Such a lovely, kid friendly place.
Mandie L — Google review
I enjoyed this museum. It is definitely centered towards children but as an adult, I still enjoyed seeing the various artifacts and rockets. My favorite artifact was the bronze statue of Yuri Gagarin. It's not a museum you will spend a lot of time and and I was disappointed they canceled some of the presentation times.
Owen R — Google review
College students with a valid student ID can get tickets for $7.50! This place is definitely catered towards the elementary school kid age. But there are some cool interactive exhibits for the adults also! The “harder” scavenger hunt was fun searching for the hidden Pop figurines! Definitely stop by the Science on a Sphere and the Mars Rover exhibits. It took us about 2 hours total to get through everything including both scavenger hunts. It’s a fun (and cheaper) way to spend a few hours on the weekend! Especially if you have younger kids.

It's an ideal place to find distinctive souvenirs.
Beautiful area, nice drive around the park. Lots of areas to pull over and take pictures, really nice mountain views. Huge souvenir store with lots of really nice stuff, fudge spot and a restaurant. Had a really nice visit and the park is free to enter, they have a place in the souvenir store if you want to make a donation. Enjoy

This trading post has it all. Clothes, souvenirs of all kinds, decorations, toys, etc. The employees are helpful and very polite. The restrooms are clean and convenient being central to the park. There is a restaurant inside (Balanced Rock Cafe) that serves delicious wraps and burgers. We ate here twice during our short stay it was that good!

Wow! Outside of the most stunning parts of national parks, I've never seen such extraordinary natural beauty. The rock formations are stunning and change dramatically as you observe them from different vantage points. The park is very well maintained, and it's FREE. DO NOT skip the Central Garden trail. After that, explore any of the other dozen named trails. If I could give 10 stars, I would!

The Trading Post is located within the boundary of the Garden of the Gods park. In addition to standard gift shop merchandise and very cute gift items, the shop consists of numerous local and Native American vendors selling beautiful art, jewelry, and some clothing. There is also a cafe and ice cream shop located within the Trading Post, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Toilets are available within the store and were clean. The prices were a bit high on the gift shop merchandise, but they do have some unique items and a great children's book section.

This place was huge! At first I thought that they sold only tourist items, but the good stuff was towards the back. They offered a large variety and selection of Southwestern Native American jewelry as well as other handmade products including knives and accessories. I was helped by Kat and she showed me some very beautiful earrings including a vintage pair when I mentioned I was looking to buy some for a good friend. I also purchased this sterling silver belt buckle (pictured) for myself, which happened to be on sale. On my way out I bought some fudge, which was very delicious. This place was a nice gem of a shop that I stumbled upon while I was heading out of Garden of the Gods Park. I’d visit it again the next time I’m in the area.

The Cog Railway in Colorado Springs is an unforgettable adventure that promises stunning views and a smooth ride, even during the winter months. Traveling with my daughter, we were initially apprehensive about the weather and elevation, but our experience exceeded expectations. The staff was exceptional from start to finish—parking was convenient, ticketing seamless, and the gift shop delightful.

Riding the Cog Railway to the top of Pikes Peak was breathtaking. Literally. My family of 4 enjoyed this ride! We booked the 2 seat side which was great but we would have loved the views more from the 3 seat side. Now I know for next time! The ride up was enjoyable & we enjoyed listening to all the fun facts & history on the way up! We almost got 1 of everything at the visitors center & Sat down & ate quickly. Walked even quicker through the gift shop as it was slightly pricy & enjoyed the rest of the time outside taking in the incredible views! This was truly a unique experience & would 100% recommend it for any age! We chose as early ride & enjoyed Manitou Springs the rest of the day!

Supper cold on the train take your own blanket. They don't have heaters on the train I was so cold it was uncomfortable. if you do take snacks you cant eat them on the ride up but once you get to the top and get off the u can eat them. The visitors center at the top has nasty pizza and hot dogs and cheap nachos but the doughnuts were ok. Everything is expensive. Beautiful views best views on the left handside of the train. Take water I only walked from the train to the visitors center and my heart was beating out of my chest and I had a headache. You will get sleepy on the way down.

Such a fun ride & absolutely gorgeous! Went at the end of September & the trees were just lovely. The ride took maybe an hour & the conductor had all kinds of fun facts, history, & funny puns the whole way. The train was full, so definitely plan ahead. And the top! How cool! The views are stunning! Get a donut - so worth it.

If you see this review, you MUST do this tour. I have visited many places in my time on this space marble, and this one immediately rose to the top tier. A couple of tips after doing this trip. Reserve ahead of time via the website. When reserving your seat, select the three-seat side-facing car 3 (you will travel backward on the way up and forward on the way down). If you have never been at an elevation, you want to take water in a metal resealable container. If you experience motion sickness, take medication to alleviate it. Some people recommend portable handheld oxygen. I didn't need it, but I did get a little lightheaded at the top. Try to schedule a day with little to no clouds and little to now wind in the forecast.

Nestled in the stunning landscape of Colorado Springs, Academy Riding Stable offers an unforgettable horseback riding experience for adventurers of all ages. Each hour-long ride begins with a thorough safety briefing and is led by knowledgeable guides who share fascinating insights about the park's rich history, diverse flora and fauna, and remarkable sights along the way.
Did the 2-Hour Scenic Ride at Garden of the Gods. It was phenomenal! The stables are so efficiently run. After the safety briefing you're on your horse and off to the trails! Our wrangler, Odell was fantastic, the horses were very well trained and the scenery was amazing. Best tourist trail ride I've done. I also liked the saddlebags for keeping my things accessible (mega-sized water bottle, sunscreen, phone, etc.). Highly recommend this tour as a great way to explore Garden of the Gods.

Absolutely amazing experience! We ride just about every destination we travel to and this place is phenomenal! From the staff to the horses and scenic route, exceptional. Nice place. I was visiting from Texas. The young lady Unique has a beautiful smile and great customer service. She was so very helpful from beginning to end. My horse was Big John, and I was intimidated at first site. Everyone was so helpful in assuring me I was safe and in good hands. Odell was our handler. She was wonderful and let me emphasize she was really patient. I would recommend going if you're in the area.

My friend and I did the 1 hour scenic tour and it was such a great time. I hadn’t been on a horse in years and was pretty nervous but the horses know exactly what to do, my horse was fireball and needed very little guiding as she already knew where she was going and what to do. Our guide Odell was great, always making sure to turn around and check on the riders and make sure no one was left behind and had some fun recommendations for things to do in the area and had some good information to give about garden of the gods, we even got to see a wild coyote on the trail. I think this is such an interesting and kind of different thing to do in the area and definitely recommend!

Great experience, visiting from Pennsylvania. Very well maintained places, great horses and staff. Very much enjoyed the experience and would highly recommend it. Our wrangler was Matthew and he was fantastic. Get this man a meal (something nicer than pizza)! He deserves it.

We went today, a group of 4, and 2 had never been on a horse before. We could only do the one hour ride because we had beginners and I was worried it wouldn’t be worth it. Wrong! Was absolutely beautiful, scenery, horses knew their stuff and we had a very nice guide, Matthew, who made everyone feel comfortable. It was so enjoyable, felt longer than an hour and a great way to see some spectacular scenery. I was very impressed.
Jen S — Google review
We loved our ride!! The length of time you get in the horse is plenty, and you get to see a ton of the Garden of the Gods park, which is really cool. The only bummer is that our guide was way in the front, with us way in the back, and we couldn't hear her talk very well when she shared geological information of the area.
Julie A — Google review
Our group of 3 did the one hour ride and it was the perfect length. Great views of unique areas of Garden of the Gods. Two of our group had never ridden before and were a little nervous, but the guide was so helpful and the horses knew exactly what to do! Highly recommend.

Seven Minute Spring is a historic site in Manitou Springs, featuring a small park with a gazebo, sculpture garden, and amphitheater. The spring was drilled in 1909 to enhance the park of a large hotel and erupts at 7-minute intervals due to carbonation. It was redrilled in the 1990s and developed into the surrounding park.
Great little spring across from the park, which is right next to a creek. The spring tastes wonderfully fresh and is revitalizing on the skin. I would definitely recommend stopping to see it.

A really beautiful little park nestled below the mountains in Manitou springs. Natural mineral spring water that many locals use to fill up their water jugs. It has a gazebo and a small little concrete amphitheatre surrounding that. Many events are held here including drum circle on Thursday evenings. Lots of beautiful flower gardens here and nearby.

After completing the Mineral Springs walking tour, I have to say Seven Minute Springs is my favorite. It’s got a mild taste and it’s just so refreshing on a hot day. Here’s a tip for your Manitou Spings tour: grab some collapsible stainless steel cups from the Chamber of Commerce. They’re only $5 for two cups, and they’re super convenient to carry in your pocket.

Seven minute spring was the best tasting spring. Now runs all the time but use to run every 7 minutes which is how it got its name.

This park has a Mineral Water Spring! Fill your Water Bottles with this Terrific Water or have a quick Drink! Wonderful Small Park next to Larger Park! This park had a gazebo! Playful Sculptures surrounded by stunning grass and comfortable benches! This is a really nice place to rest and people watch!♥️

There are 3 parks together, which are all beautiful. The city of Manitou Springs is adorable, with unusual things sprinkled throughout. The river runs around the park area with a small, lovely, and refreshing trail to walk with the dogs. The town is very dog friendly. There are spring fed fountains around, one of which is at Seven Minute Spring Park, people were filling jugs of water to take home. The park was beautifully groomed with plush grass, flowers, a kiddie area, and art. We parked for the day as we enjoyed all the town offered. It was a peaceful and delightful day!

If you're on the hunt for distinctive, locally crafted souvenirs, look no further than Commonwheel Artists Co-op. Established in the 1970s by a collective of passionate local artists, this vibrant art gallery has become a beloved fixture in Manitou Springs. With over sixty talented members contributing their unique creations, you'll find an impressive variety of artwork here—from stunning jewelry and exquisite pottery to captivating paintings and intricate fiber arts.
Walked in with a friend from Germany, and a very kind gentleman met us and gave a brief history of the co-op. I found a beautiful powder blue asymmetrical bowl with white etchings for only $40. Brought it home, and I've enjoyed the way fruit rolls and settles naturally into the asymmetrical curves. Support your local artists, skip the everyday crap at Target. You won't find a bowl with soul at a big box store.

Loved this shop! Amazing art from local artists. Something for everyone! We ended up purchasing three pieces of art and shipped them home from the local UPS store.

Received a charming necklace from shop and I wanted to inquire about an alteration to the piece. After asking if there was a manager to speak with, the very rude sales person who answered phone replied, “We don’t do returns and there is No store manager.” CLICK! I called back to share more of WHY I was calling and she replies, “I have closed my register as we are closing”. If you don’t have the skills for Customer Service, you shouldn’t be retail. If a prospective caller rings you 5 minutes before your apparent closing time, rather than being rude. DON’T answer the call. It’s not rocket science. Beware!! Horrible customer service.

Beautifully sewn quilted jackets, scarves and other fabrics in this shop. Hand made necklaces, rings, ect. Creativity with the fabrics was wonderful.

Enjoyed shopping here on our vacation. Local artists produce everything in this lovely store. There were so many nice pieces, displayed and priced well, that it was hard to narrow down our selections to choose what to buy. The artist/sales clerk on duty was knowledgeable, interesting, and friendly.

Specialty Museums
Located in Colorado Springs, the Ghost Town Museum offers a glimpse into the early pioneer life and gold prospecting era of the mid-1800s. Visitors can explore historic structures, authentic stagecoaches, and thousands of artifacts that depict Colorado's Wild West history. The museum provides interactive activities for kids such as gold panning and trying out old-fashioned tools like butter churns and printing presses. It aims to preserve the state's rich history by bringing an old ghost town to life through its exhibits.
I took my family here who were visiting from out of town and we had a blast! It wasn't too expensive to get in and the staff working here are really nice and friendly. There are a lot of cool things to look at and interact with but make sure you bring quarters because a lot of the cute little machines require quarters to be used. It's a real blast to the past getting to see all the displays, they even have gold banning and an informational show playing. We had little ones with us so we didn't see too much of the show but from what I did see it is really good and interesting. I recommend this place to families looking for something fun to do in the springs! (Note: I didn't share all my pictures because I don't want to spoil the fun, you'll have to come by and see for yourself)
Kat C — Google review
Still awesome! I came here all the time as a child. We always got sarsaparilla's while we toured the museum. I did this with my family and we had a great time. It's a great interactive museum. Very educational too. We panned for gold and found some nuggets that you can keep. The lady's in the gift shop were very friendly and awesome as well. I definitely recommend checking this place out!
Eden F — Google review
This place is wonderful for both adults and kids. The kids will love the old stuff... The adults will want to learn more about it! It has a plethora of interesting things - blacksmithing materials from the late 1800's, early 1900s, the first washing machines, carriages, pharmacy, etc. It's too much to name. Just an immense amount of things from the late 1800s to early 1900s and it's all fascinating. Plus panning for gold outside and a really cool gift shop area.
E A — Google review
This was some of the worst customer service we’ve had in Colorado so far. I looked this up before we went. I seen they closed at 5 and that it took around 30 to 45 minutes to go through so we stopped in. We were greeted by an older lady with short hair with an attitude. As we walked in the door at 3:50 she said are you here to go through the museum? We close at 5. Then huffed and puffed and acted as if we were killing her by being there and reluctantly sold us the tickets. We went in anyway, refusing to let her ruin it. Only to run into her at the bathroom with the same attitude. It’s 4:30 and we close at 5. We exited the museum and started shopping for souvenirs as she stared at us the whole time, when another gentleman walked in. He was greeted with an even worse attitude as she told him he could come back during normal business hours and that they’d be happy he was there while smirking and huffing. We then laid our stuff down we had planned to buy and walked out of the door as she followed and locked the door at 4:45 behind us. We get it, you close at 5 but there is a professional way to tell people without the attitude that says we don’t want you here. You shouldn’t be working in a museum if you don’t like tourists. As for the museum, it’s ok. A little overpriced. Would have been a lot better with informative staff that was happy to be there and genuinely interested in telling people about it.
Tia J — Google review
This was a fun way to spend an hour! If you have kids with you who want to run through it, they'll likely be bored quickly. But if you stop, look in each building, and take time to appreciate what's been preserved, and are willing to have a little fun, it's a good time. For the cost, it's well worth the hour or so. The gift shop is fun to walk around and has touristy souvenirs even if you don't go through the museum. Bonus tip: Bring quarters. Much of the interactive stuff costs quarters to participate.
Sharan K — Google review
This is a really fun museum. They let you touch some of the stuff and they have real working old self playing pianos. You can gold pan and play old arcade type games. It's definetly fun for kids and worth the price of admission

This place is pretty gross. It’s dirty. It smells like fetid garbage due to the three dumpsters right next to the tables and where you pick up the food. Their service is slow and the prices are high. There are a dozen ice cream shops within a 30 second walk of this place. Try those. If you want frozen chicken tenders or a hot dog, there are plenty of other places.

Amazing stop for funnel cake fries!!! The strawberry dipping sauce is best, though the chocolate was pretty good too. I absolutely love this place. The guy working was so friendly and helpful. Easily one of the best spots in Manitou Springs.

Zero stars was treated terribly by worker. I waited in line for 15 minutes behind a family and then when it was my turn the cashier turned me away because an older white woman came in front of me and she decided that she was there first when I had been clearly waiting then when it was my turn again I asked her a question and she rudely said that she couldn’t give me change without a purchase but didn’t ask if I wanted to purchase anything and just shooed me away. (I have nothing against white people I just needed to point it out for this experience because I’m Asian).

The park's beauty shines even in bad weather with its captivating attractions. It's conveniently located near the town's cultural and fun attractions. Hi everyone, I’m Nevada Lao Bai. Today I’m visiting Manitou Springs, a famous tourist town in Colorado known for its beautiful scenery and warm people. Right next to the City Hall park, I found a U.S. M101A1 105mm Howitzer — a legendary WWII field artillery piece first introduced in 1941. This gun served as the U.S. Army’s main howitzer during World War II and took part in nearly every major campaign. It’s amazing to see such a well-preserved piece of history standing proudly here in this peaceful town.

A great park to relax and enjoy a fresh breeze by the Fountain Creek after you explored Manitou and its amazing architecture, culture and the lovely shops of all types it has. There’s a nice playground if you have kids. Parking is free the first 30 minutes then it’s $3.5 an hour.

This is one of many parks in Manitou and attractions along with multiple hundreds of restaurants sights to see in Manitou. They have the incline in Manitou which is a workout and a half going up those steps if you're physically able to along with the Manitou rail going up to Pikes Peak which is little on the slow side yet it's gorgeous going up and looking out over 100 to miles out. Many historical places to see an acquaintance of the small town of Manitou

Ruxton's Trading Post is a store that sells antique cowboy and Indian artifacts as well as Native American art. The owner, Mike, is a kind man who went out of his way to help my husband and stepfather find the best gun holsters for their needs. I would highly recommend this store to anyone looking for unique antiques or some beautiful Native American artwork.
This shop is a gem! It features a variety of Western inspired merchandise, cowboy hats, and rustic antiques. The staff/owners are present in the shop and even opened the door for visitors. Their dogs are adorable and lounge around the shop.

I recommend double checking your items folks. My boyfriend was in town for just a day and bought his dad a belt. We didnt think to double check at the time considering the store's marketing, but it says made in taiwan! I dont quite remember if the belts said 'made in USA', but with the price we paid we had assumed it to be an authentic piece. Found the same one online for half the price later.

We were asked to leave for no clear reason. There was a sign that said “no photos,” and we fully respected that rule. We were simply browsing, being polite, and not touching anything unnecessarily. It was disappointing to be treated that way when we were just looking around respectfully.

I recently visited the Ruxton's Trading Post, and it was a delightful experience. The authenticity of the items showcased was truly impressive, reflecting a deep appreciation for Western and Native American history. The owners, Gretchen and Mike Graham, knowledge and passion added to the charm, making it a must-visit for anyone interested in unique and well-preserved artifacts. The store's ambiance evokes a nostalgic feel, and the carefully curated collection deserves nothing less than five stars.

If you want to enjoy a nice day in Manitou Springs, you’ll avoid this shop. We were parked in a designated parking spot, paid for the two hour parking, and had the ticket on our dashboard as directed. When we returned to our car, the owner of this shop came out and accused us of being parked there for 5 hours and called the police on us. At first I thought he was being sarcastic so I was laughing it off and quickly came to realize he was pretty uptight about our legally parked vehicle. If you plan on visiting this shop maybe bring him a fresh pair of panties because obviously his were stuck somewhere dark. Good times.
Ryan E — Google review
The owner is rude for absolutely no reason.
SE E — Google review
Owner is quite rude. Will not visit again. EDITED TO ADD: It’s a shame to see a longtime business owner in a small tourist town feel he needs to attack a patron of his business and community. I have long loved visiting Manitou, often browsed through his store, and have always told friends and colleagues that they should visit the Ruxton Trading post while they are in town. They have great hats! I like their dogs! What a sad way to find out that the owner feels he controls not just his business, but the street in front of it, and feels a need to police tourists in his town. If I had been aware that I was not allowed to park on the street for the incline, I would not have done so. I admit that I made a mistake of ignorance. When a random man who has been leering at you for ten minutes demands to know where you’ve been without introducing himself, though, you might decline to be interrogated, too. I paid to park in that spot. I was delighted that it was in front of Ruxton’s so I could browse through after my hike. My enthusiasm was misplaced. My review stands. The owner is rude. He made me uncomfortable while in his business, on a public street, and visiting a town I usually love. He did not greet me when I entered his store. He stared me down as I stood by my car. He did not identify himself before demanding where I had been. I would not suggest interacting with him, and I will caution my colleagues at, yes, The North Face, who love the outdoors and often visit Manitou, to avoid his business. I have spent my career in retail. A little kindness goes a long way. You might not know who has silently been your supporter for years until you attack them for parking incorrectly.

Manitou Springs, Colorado is a charming town known for its naturally carbonated spring mineral water, which contains magnesium, lithium, and potassium. The Native American Indians believed in the cleansing and healing properties of this water. Visitors can enjoy activities like hiking the incline or exploring the downtown area with its great food and friendly people. The town's older architecture adds to its appeal, and the beautiful little river flowing through downtown enhances its natural beauty.
Has some really pretty buildings to drive by and just look at. So much more to even do there!

Very picturesque town with wonderful mountain landscape in the background and lots of shops, restaurants, cafes and the biggest arcade I've ever seen! Face painting and other activities for kids as well. Beautiful sculptures and flowers, a stream, fountains and architecture all through the town. They had some wonderful jewelry and artist shops with amazing works of all kinds. -One thing to note about parking for tourists and first-time visitors. We parked on the street and looked for a parking meter or a payment kiosk and could not find one so assumed it was free. Came back to car and had a ticket. Apparently there are some light posts here and there along the main street that have a placard with a black & white scan sign for cellphones but NO nonation that is how you pay for parking! How is anyone to know what that's for? We didn't notice it until later in the day and assumed it was for getting town and event information. Very obscure. Never seen anything like that before. They really need to put instructions by the scan sign so people know what it's for.

Absolutely in love with Manitou Springs and cannot wait to go back. It’s because, loaded with activities, great food, friendly people, and a beautiful little river flowing through the downtown. Known for its effervescent natural mineral springs that are throughout the downtown area. (The one off the Main Street, easiest visible was the “sweetest” and most tasty) some others have higher iron content and don’t taste too good.

This charming park provides easy access to scenic trails and delightful nearby restaurants, making it an ideal spot for outdoor enthusiasts and food lovers alike. Situated on the western edge of Colorado Springs, this RV park boasts stunning views of not only Pikes Peak but also other breathtaking local landscapes.
This was our first RV Park experience. It was very nice. I'm thankful of the safety and security of this park. We felt comfortable enough to leave our pets in the park in our camper van, which allowed us to go out and experience more of the area than we would have. The bathrooms and showers are very clean. Staff are exceptionally friendly and kind. The small fee of $10 for the dog wash included shampoo, towels and a waterproof apron (this was such a great setup, and the shampoo left my pet's for so soft). Laundry facilities are reasonably priced and we could leave the room and know our stuff would be there when we came back because it is locked by passcode. We really enjoyed our spot, the creek had several ducks in it all day for all 3 days we were there. Such a lovely place, we'll be back next time we're in the area!

Perfect little RV park. Shannon in the front office was super sweet and helpful. Free shuttles right outside the park that can take you right into town. Full hookups with clean showers and a laundry room. They have a partnership with the community pool next door indoor and outdoor pools and gym. I recommend a backup spot by the stream it's lovely to hear throughout the day and especially at night!

Great location. Close to everything. Campground has a nice little creek running through it, which creates a nice, relaxing sound. My only complaint is with customer service. When we arrived, we were told that we could not be placed next to our friends we were traveling with, even though we requested it. The sites are super close to others, and our friends were smack against a wooden gate. We asked about moving and were told that there was no way to move closer together because they were full. We were there for 3 nights, and the ones we requested remained open all 3 days. Disappointing! Also, there are people who live there, and some sites look run down and messy. Although there is a creek there, you cannot swim or fish on the creek. Saving grace for this campground was location and the sound of the creek.
Rhonda L — Google review
This is a great campground! The creekside sites are a great place to sit and have your coffee. Staff was very helpful over the phone. We were late arriving, but received emails regarding check in procedures. Sites are close together, but the creek offers a more private sitting area. I would stay here again. I got to meet the ladies in the office the next day, and they were very friendly and made me feel welcome! Thank you.

Absolutely loved spot #46 and wish we had more than one night here! The spots are tight but this one was near the back so it felt a bit more private than the others - we were also right on the river!! We we’re there on Sept 24th. I had a really bad day, but the lady at reception was so kind and helpful! She helped me with the laundry. The restrooms were very clean, great showers! We had a great stay. Manitou Springs is also very nice, cosy town. We would definitely book again at the RV park! Great value!
Hedwig V — Google review
Very nice RV park…..just go down the road and look at the others for comparison. The location is fantastic for all of the local attractions including the Incline, Cog Railway, Garden of the Gods, etc. very clean including laundry, showers and the park as a whole. Staff are over the top! We arrived a day early, after hours and they came down to the office and got us all set up on Labor Day weekend. Couldn’t have asked for more. Love the creek side spots with the private pavilion. Set up for the week without a concern. Give it five stars and wouldn’t hesitate to come again.
Jeffrey C — Google review
Very nice people, clean, and convenient to Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak. Sites were very tight and jammed. We had one that backed up to the creek which was nice. You could hop on the Mainland bike trail which was nice. Great place if you need to sleep.

Schryver Park is a charming and delightful place to have lunch. The picturesque surroundings create a wonderful setting, with ducks frolicking in the stream and plump squirrels scurrying amidst the trees. The weather is consistently pleasant, enhancing the serene atmosphere further as the tranquil sounds of flowing water soothe the senses. This park offers a variety of amenities, including picnic tables, playground equipment, and fishing opportunities in the mountain stream.
Gorgeous little park next to a running creek. Has a small island with ducks and muskrats.

It's a small park with a pond. Nice local place. Not a destination certainly. The Manitou Springs Pool is adjacent but being rebuilt currently so it's closed.Fountain Creek is lovely. I have seen American Dippers here. So good birding. Good size parking lot for the pool.
Sir_Alexander_ D — Google review
I’d say this place is one of our favorite spots as of right now, the pond is great for fishing, the park is great for the kids!! Super family friendly!! HOWEVER!! My biggest issue is they close the bathrooms TOO EARLY!! The guy will close it up as early as 6 sometimes, when the posted time is 8, I’m sorry to say but when I’m there around 7/8 o’clock fishing and letting my kids play I may need to use the amenities. If I have to leave to use the restroom I don’t come back to continue my stay or anything like that it just bums me out.
Jordie — Google review
Searched for kid friendly fishing and this little park popped up. Seems like it should be further out in nature, but there it is, sitting right off a fairly busy intersection next to the public pool. Seems like it was recently renovated, with clean informative signs and well-maintained benches, lighting, bridges, and trails around the pond and island. Kiddo also loved the playground. Worth checking out.
Jason B — Google review
We love this place. My children love to play, I love to feel all the greens. You can expect beautiful environments too.
Cherrybust — Google review
This is a really nice little, with a big pond in in the middle and always a bunch of ducks. There are some hiking trails that go up behind there in a picnic table to sit in the middle. A small bridge that you can walk over with a good view of the creek below.

Beautiful Park especially during the Fall season. 👍🏻

Very nice, small park with a creek and little pond for fishing. We also watched several beaver that have built a dam under one of the bridges. Very scenic with a bit of a transient problem at times.

Nestled in the heart of Manitou Springs, the Manitou Art Center is a vibrant hub for creativity and community engagement. With its rich history dating back to 1872, when it was founded as a health resort by General William Jackson Palmer and Dr. William Abraham Bell, this center has become an essential part of the town's artistic landscape.
I have been a patron of MAC for a couple of years now and recently I booked their Classroom to have a small Medicare 101 meeting. I visited ahead of time to make sure I would be prepared to utilize their wall mounted TV and felt so welcome. The space was so perfect for this small meeting. Well lit and spacious. Very clean. Quiet. It was an evening meeting and the parking lot was empty so all of the attendees had great parking. I didn't catch everyone's names that made me feel so welcome but THANK YOU so much. We were all very happy with the experience.
Sarita S — Google review
Very friendly staff. I was able to drop off my art with no problem.

Manitou Art Center has served as a home for the Colorado Springs slam poetry community at least since I was in college during the 2010s. I love coming here for poetry events and art make events.
Eleanor S — Google review
This place is unreal. Incredibly talented staff and artists, with spaces for darn near every kind of craft. Certainly not the biggest makers space, but one of the most impressive and well considered. You can tell at a glance how much they care about what they do there.
Anvil D — Google review
I wish I could give more stars... I really do. I’ve been debating writing this review but other artists should be aware if they’re putting their art here too. I put my shell bra on display here in February. It didn’t sell, so I picked it up at the beginning of this month. Come to immediately see that one of my earrings was not only missing a shell, attached with galvanized steel, but the part you put in your ear was completely bent out of shape and cannot be used. Looks like it was ripped off of my display. I get it, this is a risk you take when putting your art in the public, but even staff members were joking to me about how people were “groping” my mannequin. You’d hope they’d care about the security of your art more but I guess not. My next issue is that I thought they’d be posting the art online on their website, and they never did. My last complaint is that they moved my display around a lot, placing things where I didn’t put them and throwing away a paper I made with my links to my small business.
Hannah B — Google review
Very special spot for artists and makers of all kinds. I found my home in the textile lab, and have learned from many talented individuals: 4-shaft weaving, tapestry weaving, sewing, book making, paper making and more. Highly recommended!
Emily S — Google review
A lovely place for the community to enjoy togetherness and art of all sorts. My 1st experience there was with happy cat's haven at a kitten yoga class.
Heidi D — Google review
Note that the Manitou Art Center no longer has their sign up. It just says 513, the street number. I have visited here for years and was told they changed the signs to this. Very misleading. Nice Creation Show in the front gallery until end of March. Shop had limited hours, so couldn't browse.

Fun place to take the kids for a play date, with plenty of areas to explore and plenty of attractions for all ages. The park also has a very nice beer tent - one of the highlights of our day!
Surprisingly nice town park in Manitou Springs. It actually has a great soda spring. It's awesome for lemonade. It has a nice bandshell that has concerts in the summer. There is a nice playground. It has an interesting climbing rock. West coast climbers liked it.
Sir_Alexander_ D — Google review
The city put in new play structures and cleaned it up. I would recommend for kids about 2 and up or kiddos who can walk and clmib with much assistance...It is so much nicer since they cleaned it up and added new things. They is also a rock to climb and a large swing.

Cristal C — Google review
This used to be such a cute park for kids. The city redesigned it and it looks so unsafe now. The play structure is very tall and looks super dangerous. It appears to have been designed by someone who does not have children. Very sad Manitou did this.

They are currently under construction, putting in a new playground feature at this part. It looks like it will be absolutely amazing and will probably open soon. Bathrooms nearby.

I love Manitou Springs and Soda Springs Park is a great spot to enjoy this amazing city! The people are very friendly. There is a laid back vibe throughout the city and this park. The playground equipment is well maintained and has more than the usual equipment. There are areas for kids to crawl through and climb. Running next to the park is Fountain Creek. The running water adds a calming effect to the park. There are nice benches and picnic tables. Be sure to look for the artistic touches throughout the park and all of Manitou!

If I could give zero stars, I would. I am writing this review to warn other people. It’s not worth it, the other reviews are true. It will not be different for you. I stayed there for 4 months until we couldn’t take it anymore. We were evicted for no reason almost every month (sometimes weekly) by a sticky note left on the door. So you never quite feel welcome at your own home wondering what made up rule you broke. The first ever eviction scared us to our core but apparently it’s standard according to the other residents. Madeline the owner is hateful and rude. I have a voicemail from her on my phone saying “just wait until I see you when I’m having a bad day and I’m just gonna make you leave.” She charged at us screaming “I don’t like you.” Kim is a long term resident and creates equal problems. She gives mean looks and complains if you throw your trash away. It’s a shame because there are good people there but they defend Madeline and her behavior. It’s unsettling and no one should have to deal with that. We paid extra for electricity, rent increased 100$ & we have gone days at a time without running water. Seriously, don’t stay here. The picture is from the day we got an eviction notice for our lot looking “like a construction site.”
Katie D — Google review
Love the views, price, people and fresh air. Landlord is stern but amazing. I will go back if needed.
Vicky F — Google review
After reading all the reviews about the evil landlord or owners, I wouldn’t stay at this park if it was the last park on earth. It seems like there’s a lot of parks like this. I’d advise anybody wanting to stay at this place to stay clear. You’re just gonna have misery.
Ron G — Google review
Quiet campground. They do not answer their phones the majority of the time, and also lack any amenities (no showers, bathrooms, laundromat) however, it is a very affordable price considering the area. The views of Garden of the Gods are very pleasant as well.
Noah C — Google review
Beautiful & quiet! This place is an unexpected treasure. Hiking trails are everywhere. A wonderful experience.
Jenai F — Google review
Full disclosure, I haven't actually stayed here. I planned on it next week when I'm in Manitou Springs but after reading the reviews, I'll pass. I can deal with nutso people so it's not that. It's because it sounds like she feeds the local bear population. Combine that with the repeated reports about her hostility towards larger dogs, who will most likely threaten a bear, and this campground is a horrible accident waiting to happen. Any nature person knows that "a fed bear is a dead bear". The bears may be acclimated to people because she feeds them, but dogs are not acclimated to bears and if a dog threatens a bear, the bear will respond. This will lead to the bear being shot by the rangers.
Amy G — Google review
My husband and I are currently staying here (until this weekend) and have been here 5 months. Unfortunately, we didn't read the reviews until I wanted to leave one myself to warn others about Madeline the owner. I've got to say the reviews are spot on, the woman is rude and hateful. She raised the rent 100.00 because the septic tank had to be drained more often with people leaving faucets dripping. Then she said it was just us and blamed us for the extra cost and kicked us out. When I tried to talk to her to work things out she yelled and hung up on me, then taped a note on our door saying we had a week to go or she'd call the sheriff and if we took her to court she'd ask for the 1,977.00 it cost to drain the septic tank twice in 5 months. It's tempting to take her to court,, just to see a judge laugh in her face. The woman is unstable and the park is poorly maintained. I would recommend running in the opposite direction and avoid the hassle of dealing with her.

Cave of the Winds is a must-visit destination for adventure seekers and families alike, offering two distinct cave tours: the gentle Discovery Tour and the thrilling Lantern Tour, perfect for those craving excitement. Nestled at an impressive elevation of 7,000 feet, this stunning cave system was discovered in 1881. Visitors can easily access Cave of the Winds via a winding road that GPS will guide you through; just keep an eye out for helpful signs as you approach.
Me, my wife, and our kid went and we had a good time. Our tour guides name was Dre and he did a good job. Very knowledgeable about the history of the cave. He also had some good corny jokes. We did the adventure tour and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Chris W — Google review
The parking is dirt area but it’s not far from the entrance. The restaurant inside is really good and staff is very friendly and ready to help. The activities are good if they are open (if weather permits)… you can easily spend 3-4 hours there. Didn’t take the tour but I am sure it’s really good.
Sunisha J — Google review
After visiting the Royal Gorge our next stop was the Cave of the winds. We bought tickets for the basic tour and showed up 30 minutes ahead of time. Check in with super easy and the retail shop had 10 lb bags of sand, dirt and various little gemstones that you could buy to sift through in the small mining streams located nearby. The kids in my group age 6 to 14 thought it was so cool and fun to do. Definitely recommend that. The tour guide was informative and it was fun getting to go through the various rooms and hear the history. Absolutely crazy to think about people 60 years ago crawling on their bellies through this cave tour and taking 4 to 5 hours to do so. Now everything has been excavated lower and paved to make it super easy walk good for almost any age. This made for a perfect day to see the Royal Gorge, cave of the winds and we finished it off with Pikes peak before heading back to Denver for dinner!

Such a great hike with the dog! Great views and clean paths which is great!

Most of the pictures posted here are not of this park. It is open space in a hilly area surrounded by houses. We didn’t explore the whole thing, as we entered the park near a sign indicating where the park was and there were no paths. A neighbor told us it was just a wild area. He suggested we go a little south, and uphill, to a place where we could enter the upper, southwest corner of Red Rocks Park. We did that and had great access to nice trails.
Beth S — Google review
This is not really a park. The grass is overgrown and there is no trail. All the old 5 year old plus pictures are deceptive because for some reason those are from garden of the gods. Do not come here. The place is as the title mentions — a place for deer.
