Scenic Railroads
The Georgetown Loop Railroad is a popular seasonal attraction that offers scenic train excursions and occasional themed rides, as well as tours of the Lebanon or Everett Silver Mines. This historic 3-foot narrow-gauge steam train takes passengers on a round-trip journey through stunning landscapes and dense evergreen forests to nearby Silver Plume. The experience includes optional stops for mine tours and gold panning activities.
We visited the Georgetown Loop Railroad for their Autumnfest festival, and it was a lovely experience—especially since it’s one of the closest scenic train rides to Denver. We reserved seats in the Parlor Class for three, which was quite comfortable and made the ride even more enjoyable. The narrow-gauge train ride offered stunning views of the Rocky Mountains, and the fall colors made it even more magical. It’s a roundtrip journey with a stop at Silver Plume, where you can get off to explore a small museum. The restrooms at the stop were clean and well-maintained, which was a plus. The staff onboard were exceptionally friendly, offering plenty of complimentary snacks and sodas throughout the ride. While the ride itself is relatively short, it was absolutely worth it—especially with kids. We had also done the Pikes Peak train ride earlier, and this was a completely different experience—more relaxed and scenic in a unique way. Unfortunately, we didn’t have time to do the gold mine tour, but overall, it was a fun and memorable outing.

We were visiting the general area for a few days and decided to give the Georgetown loop a try. We were there during the week and out on the first train of the day at 10 AM so the weather was a little brisk. We arrived approximately 30 minutes early to allow for parking and picking up our tickets. Parking turned out to not be a problem for us since we were the first train of the day, but I believe subsequent trains probably have more issues with the parking availability. We were told boarding would begin 15 minutes prior to the departure time. A line formed to have photos taken and to check tickets about 25 minutes prior. The boarding actually started a little late due to a large group from a senior home, but it was not a terrible wait. I was a little concerned with the number of people and making sure we had a good seat on the train, but there seems to be plenty of seating and it was an unwarranted concern. My husband and I sat in the very first car behind the engine on the way up, and the only thing I would say is to be aware of the sound from the whistle being a bit much after a while. The engine switched to the other end of the train for the way down and we did not have to endure it the second half of the trip. It wasn’t quite what I expected out of the trip, but we enjoyed it. I don’t know that I would ride again.
Molly F — Google review
This is cute. Not sure I would do it again. Definitely get there 30 min- 1 hour before. You will need to go print your tickets, you can not use your email confirmation. Then get in line. The ride is about 1.5 hours and follows the stream/highway. Sit on the right side/ stream side of the train. The best pictures over the bridge are taken headed over it the first time. Not sure I would quite call this a loop railroad. More like a there and back. My only complaint is the cheap painted animal status along the way. They are cheesy and don’t add anything to the experience. The next is the Christmas decorations, not sure if they stay up year round to make it easier or if the are starting to decorate early. But definitely takes away from the experience. Also make sure to get in line early if you want to pick your spot. Same goes for getting back on after the short stop. The stop is so short that unless you need to go to the restroom it’s not worth losing your seat.
Alisha T — Google review
We had so much fun! Definitely buy the tickets in advance, such a beautiful trip in the fall! Don’t forget to stop in the gift shop! Also, I didn’t see any reviews when I bought tickets to see if we could bring food, but they definitely allow you to bring food on the train and there is a stop in the middle so if you wanna get off and eat or stretch your legs or use the bathroom you will be able to do so.
Romjin B — Google review
This is a fun train ride. The time and distance is just under and hour the ride itself. There's additional gold panning options as well. My daughter loved this experience and is still talking about it. They staff are dressed for the period, very nice folks. Follow the rules and everyone returns with all of the limbs in place.
Deric W — Google review
Very beautiful place to visit. The train ride was nice with a lot of amazing views with a small river running through the area. I would love to return at least once for each season. We went in autumn and got to see the colorful trees. All of the staff were cheerful and happy.
John R — Google review
Amazing experience! The locomotive is what you would imagine to look like in the old days when they were mining metals. The staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable (I personally really appreciated the dad jokes). Good facilities in regards to restrooms in several areas. The ride itself was absolutely worth it - informative, fun, stunning views.
Lisa W — Google review
Super cute place. We went on the Santa’s Rocky Mountain Adventure, it was day time, but at night it would be amazing. We enjoyed seeing all the young children and the happy faces seeing Santa. Cute little gift shop, and yummy hot chocolate and cookies. A must for train lovers. They ran the diesel locomotive on ours, wish I could have seen the steam engine. Still a magical ride.

The Hotel de Paris Museum in Georgetown offers seasonal tours of the luxurious hotel and French restaurant, which dates back to the silver-mining boom. The museum showcases historical artifacts from its days as a 1875 French inn. Visitors can also explore the nearby Hamill House Museum with its 19th-century residential furnishings and take a tour of the Capital Prize Mine, delving 1,000 feet into Griffith Mountain.
Our tour host was a wealth of knowledge and delivered information in a storybook way that tied together many characters during the history of the hotel. The preservation of the hotel is unbelievable, truly a step back in time. Highly recommended.

Beautiful, historic building with rich, interesting history! I can't recommend the tour enough - the museum is meticulously preserved and the docent was incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and fun! Plus they sell antiques in the lobby!
Brittany D — Google review
One of the most authentic and delightful museums set in the charming town of georgetown Colorado which is a quick 70ish minute drive from Denver. Exec. Director Kevin Kuharic and staff were delightful and so knowledgeable. 90% of the items in the hotel museum are original! I went to a experiential wine cheese and charcuterie event... I definitely recommend that for future visitors. I love that even the mini tour includes information about all of the people involved in the history of the hotel... I can't wait to come back for the full museum tour.
Mia V — Google review
Seriously fantastic snippet of history here. The cost is reasonable to enter, and the tour is really worth it. The minutae and little facts behind this place truly are fascinating. Definitely a great stop for people who love history, or stories of the old west. The gift shop is cool, and the people working here really care about the place. If you bring kids, make them listen and seriously shut up while the tour guide is telling the story. Have respect. Learn. Don't answer phone calls on the tour, please.

Decided to get out of the city for the day and come up to Georgetown, stumbling upon the Hotel de Paris Museum. We stepped into the shop around 2:10 and they had an open tour at 3. We grabbed some ice cream and for $10ea my boyfriend and I listened in on an hour long tour of the Hotel. It was definitely a fun thing to do if you enjoy history. I wish we had more time to just “poke around” and less time we were trying to listen to the guide, but overall this is definitely one of the neatest things in Georgetown!
Samantha B — Google review
What a cool tour! 45 minutes long and $10 it gave you a great history of the hotel, Georgetown, and the owners. Almost all of the furnishings are original and are in like new condition. You’d almost think you had gone back in time to the late 1800’s. Don’t miss this!
Marcus F — Google review
My friend & I booked tickets for a Saturday tour and had a great time! The history in that hotel is simply amazing, there's so much there!! Our tour guide was great ~ she was super sweet and informing. Just overall, a great experience.
Ashley K — Google review
Loved the authentic old look and smell and feel as I walked into the antique store they have on the main floor. I also felt like someone was watching me from the windows upstairs while on the Main Street. If I had a guess it is roamed by ghost or haunted. In one of my pictures in the bedroom it shows a orb. Would love to go see this place for the holidays when it snows!

Ski & Snowboard Areas
Loveland Ski Area is a popular destination offering 1,800 acres of skiable terrain and snowcat skiing along the Continental Divide. It's a great option for those looking to ski and spend time surrounded by mountains and nature. The area offers reasonable prices for seasonal passes and rentals, as well as delicious food at the cafeteria. Visitors recommend making reservations in advance to avoid long wait times.
My wife and I had our very first skiing experience at Loveland Ski Area, and it was unforgettable! We definitely fell a lot, but we laughed even more and had such a great time. The slopes were beautiful, well maintained, and perfect for beginners like us. If you’re new to skiing or just want a welcoming place with gorgeous views, Loveland is the spot.
Alexander M — Google review
The place was nice, facilities were clean. The place was crowded I booked a 2 hr private lesson only got 1 1/2 hr of it and the instructor was like ok bye I have another class. And was left in my own. The staff is very friendly, they do have a rescue team in case of emergency. Their food was decent and had fun doing it regardless of the difficulty breathing that nobody advised me of ahead of time. At some point I felt like I was passing out. But overall it was fun. Would I do it again absolutely NO is not my thing but those who like the snow and the adventure and adrenaline this place is magical. The views are incredible sunrise here is amazingly beautiful and don’t go thinking you will find flat areas as a beginner because there are none and the easy beginner friendly areas are as scary as the regular ones.
Glennyza D — Google review
Loveland Ski Area is an awesome, no-frills mountain with great snow, friendly staff, and some of the best value in Colorado. It offers tons of terrain, minimal crowds, and a laid-back, original Colorado ski vibe. It is perfect for locals or anyone who wants quality skiing without the resort chaos. Lift lines are super quick, they have mid run lifts so you can keep taking hot laps. These really make a difference for the lift lines at the base of the mountain.
Hope M — Google review
Loveland Ski Area is a phenomenal place to be! The snow is great typically, even in early season. They have deals if you buy tickets early, or you can get a season pass! The clubhouse is cozy, and everyone feels like family. Whether you’re a first time skier, or an advanced participant: LOVELAND HAS SOMETHING FOR YOU! The trails are fun, the lifts are in good shape, they even have hiking access, bowl skiing, and terrain for all experience levels. Loveland is worth the trip!! It’s beautiful, you won’t regret it!
Caleb B — Google review
We had our wedding at Loveland Ski Area last weekend, and it was absolutely perfect! The entire staff was amazing from start to finish—so kind, caring, and attentive to every detail. Our coordinator, Sage, was incredible to work with. She went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly and that we could truly enjoy our day. The setting itself is stunning—calm, relaxing, and beautifully laid-back, with the most gorgeous mountain views. The food was delicious, and our guests couldn’t stop talking about how beautiful and comfortable the whole atmosphere was. If you’re looking for a venue that’s both breathtaking and welcoming, Loveland Ski Area is the perfect choice. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience!
Kelly W — Google review
Had a blast on my recent trip to Loveland. The lines were pretty much non-existent, the snow quality was great, and there was a lot of varying terrain for an intermediate skier. Great local mountain feel and great all around atmosphere. Only complaint is the lifts are a bit slow but it's a good to chance to recover in between runs!
Anthony N — Google review
LOVED it here! I’m still a beginner (after 2 years) and I felt so comfortable and confident riding these greens and I even went down a small blue, I fell a little but it was manageable! The view from the top of the Ptarmigan lift was AMAZING!!
Cheyenne N — Google review
We visited Loveland Ski Resort over Presidents’ Day weekend and were pleasantly surprised that it wasn’t as busy as expected. The ski pass was reasonably priced, making it a great option for those looking for an affordable skiing experience. Parking filled up by 11 AM, but we were still able to find a spot and shuttle to the lifts without much hassle. The food and drinks were fairly priced for a ski resort, though bottled water was pricey at $6-7—luckily, they have water stations inside to refill bottles. The bathrooms were clean, and overall, the resort was well-maintained. As a first-time skier, I had a great experience and enjoyed my time on the slopes. Loveland is a solid choice for skiing without the overwhelming crowds and high prices of other Colorado resorts!

Had an amazing time !!! Highly recommend. We have been wanting to go on a tour for a long time and finally made it happen and we are so glad we did! Would recommend for all ages !! Paul was our guide and he was stellar! He was a lot of fun! Paul was very engaging and had us laughing and hanging on every word. Very clear he has great passion for the mine. This is something I would recommend fitting into your schedule if your visiting on a trip or even if you are local like us on a quick weekend outting.

We had an amazing time at Capital Prize Gold Mine Tours! Daniela was informative, entertaining, and so kind to our 3 kids- ages 8, 6 and 3. Such cool Colorado history, passionate guides, and amazing views! Definitely recommend!

Greg was full of knowledge and gave an awesome tour. We really enjoyed it. Added bonus the cute little chipmunks and ground squirrels that were running around.

We choose Capital Prize, hoping to get a more authentic and informative tour of one of the most productive gold mines. Daniela was amazing. We will recommend this tour to all of our friends.

Honestly an amazing tour!!! Paul, our tour guide, was extremely personable, friendly, and knowledgeable. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and I mean it is an experience. Not only do you experience how it would have been back in the 18 and 19 00's, you get a chance to push a mine cart and chip away at rocks. I would recommend this tour to anyone in the area in a heartbeat.

I've been on many natural cave tours, this is the first Gold Mine tour.... And it was amazing. Safety is their #1 priority and we never felt worried one bit. The walking is very easy, the mine goes level into the side of the mountain, so that means no steps up or down, just straight level path.(some parts could be muddy so don't wear your newest shoes) The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and we were almost overloaded with her super interesting details on Gold Mining. Can't recommend this Capital Prize Gold Mine tour enough. Great experience and memories.

This is a must do if you are in Georgetown. We were greeted out front by the Miner who was friendly and full of information. The tour of the mine is extensive and very interesting with so many examples of how the mine functioned both in the past and today. We had a great time!

The center also boasts an impressive array of local touristy gifts and brochures about nearby attractions. Visitors rave about the friendly and supportive staff, particularly mentioning Tala's kindness and helpfulness. The center is praised for its genuine human interaction and excellent customer service.
Love coming to Georgetown and stopping here to stretch the legs. It has a restroom and a little shop. As I was visiting people told me about the car on the ice. So I went over and checked it out.
Shawn B — Google review
We love stopping at the visitor center. Public restrooms are tidy. There's a nice area to walk your pets with plenty of shade. Close to the pumps in case you are running low on fuel. Surrounded by the mountains. Take a few minutes and look around. A short distance down the road is a beautiful lake with lots of parking spots to stop and enjoy the views. A hop down the road is an observation tower to watch for wild mountain goats.

Great option for a "stop". Parking 👍, bathrooms well maintained, food available, vending machines and from gift shop. Souvenirs also plentiful. A big grassy area with trees that provide shade offers picnic tables for travellers wanting to stretch out.

This place is so good for gift items. For short break during your journey. Washrooms are so clean. You will get plenty of space for parking and there is space in front of visitor center where you can have meal. It has 4-5 benches surrounded with trees. Their goats milk moistures are so good.

Every time I stop in Georgetown, I make a quick stop at the visitor center. It's very convenient with restrooms and a gift shop. It's within walking distance to other stores, gas station & restaurants. There's also a grassy area near the parking lot with benches for you to sit, relax & have a picnic.

I was trying to get to Winter Park. After discovering off ramp from I 70 was closed, I stopped at the Georgetown visitors center to see if I could get a suggestion. Not only did the young girl give me an awesome alternative route, she wrote out the directions. Georgetown should be proud to have such an exceptional representative.

Great spot for a quick stop. Vending machines. Clean bathrooms. They also have a whole bunch of pamphlets showcasing different activities in Colorado. We stopped here on the way back from Vail to the Denver Airport. Good spot!

The Hamill House Museum, a restored Gothic Revival house, offers guided tours and hosts events with period furnishings. The museum showcases 19th-century residential items and exquisite interior features. It was built for the great-great grandfather of actor Mark Hamill, known for playing Luke Skywalker in 'Star Wars.' Visitors can also explore the Hotel de Paris Museum, which was originally a French inn from 1875 and the Capital Prize Mine that takes you deep into Griffith Mountain.
A most beautiful setting for a family wedding. After a year and a half of pandemic separation, the Hamill House and its grounds were the perfect venue for bringing together our families to celebrate the newlyweds. Andersen Park was precious for the ceremony site! I can not give enough positive accolades for how well Janine Weeds and her team cared for each and every detail and helped us pull off a memorable event! I highly recommend Hamill House as a elegant backdrop for special events. If I could give 10 stars in this review, I would!

A beautiful old home. So many details to take in! We wandered in early afternoon and had the place to ourselves to explore. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the home and it's history.
Lauren W — Google review
This place has the most special place in my heart. We got married here on 09.17.2022 and it was pure perfection. I'm still dreaming about it! The Hamill House team,Nancy and Eva, are nothing short of fairy godmothers who were so great to work with. I cannot give enough praise for all their love, support and efforts to making our big day magical. Suffice to they, we would have been lost without them! We were engaged for 2 years and visited here multiple times during the prep and it has always been a joy and absolutely breathtaking. I'm still hearing guests say they've never been to a more beautiful wedding venue! Whether you are using this for an event, touring the house or just walking by you will fall in love.
Brittany D — Google review
We were married there last weekend. Absolutely gorgeous venue. Perfectly magical and off the beaten path. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Working with Janine was so easy and she reduced my stress ten fold. She really knows what she's doing and has such a love for the venue and the town. I cannot recommend this place enough for a wedding, special event or just to enjoy the museum.
Charlotte R — Google review
Tour guide was fantastic and interesting. He was kind, knowledgeable, and you could tell he enjoyed spreading the history of this family and home. The house itself was beautifully (mostly) restored and well kept. Its currently under going some restoration on the building to repair damages but you're still able to view and walk through most everything. It was a little disappointing that we couldn't take photographs inside the home, but the tour was well worth the visit either way.
Michelle W — Google review
What a lovely property. We were married here this past weekend and it was a perfect venue. The property is gorgeous with so many photo ops, the staff are sweet, helpful, caring and accommodating. I highly recommend using this space for events or just stopping by to view the quaint early 1900's home/ museum. Plus it was Mark Hamill's (Luke Skywalker) great-grandfathers house! What more could you ask for!
Courtney O — Google review
This is a beautiful historic building in the throes of being renovated. Yet even as there is still much more to do here, the exquisite attention to the smallest detail everywhere makes a visit to this museum well worth it. The Hamill House was once a truly elegant piece of Georgetown history. As restoration continues, it is again becoming a precious gem in this wonderful old historic town.

Mountain peak
With an elevation of 14,065 ft., this mountain offers a straightforward day hike to the summit.
Very beautiful and accessible peak close to Denver. It is very close to Mt Blue Sky and they are connected by the Sawtooth ridge. Fairly easy hike that begins with a flat section then has an elevation gain of around 2500-3000 feet. Some easy scrambling at the top. It has some large cliffs but it doesn’t feel exposed. A bit chilly and windy at the top (early July) but not too cold. There were mountain goats and marmots as well. The alpine tundra is full of flowers and the views are amazing. I did the hike up in 2 and a half hours without too much effort. You can see the peak from the parking lot as well as most of the trail.
Indiana G — Google review
Very beautiful hike. It is a bit crowded and there is a rock scramble at the top. Most of it is relatively easy going if you already are a hiker. For people not used to altitude it may prove a little bit more tricky, the approach to the mountain is beautiful.
Val M — Google review
Very crowded with a tough rock scramble finish but overall great for first timers. The incline from mile 2.5-top is intense and people should plan accordingly. Parking lot does fill but there are plenty of waves coming in and out of the lot. Expect to see wildlife!
Amy L — Google review
Great hike. First third is easy, the rest is a mix of moderate to difficult. About 7.5 miles round trip, and 2600 feet of vertical, topping out at 14060 feet. Views are amazing, and if you’re lucky, you'll see some wildlife. We were fortunate enough to see a couple mountain goats stroll right past on the summit.
Roger M — Google review
Not easy but possible to do. It took more time to go down that I was expecting, but it was amazing! If you have trekking, your experience will be much better
Regina A — Google review
The trail is well maintained and easy to follow, even at the top near the scrambling section. There are amazing views all the way to the top from the parking lot. We got at the parking lot at 5:30 am and it was almost full even for a Monday morning. The weather was ideal for the hike and the trial was dry. The alititude start a to hit at 4000 metres so we took it slow with short breaks in between. We reached the top in about 3 hours and spend a decent amount of time at the top. The overall hike can be considered as hard if the body is not acclimitize, but this is doable.
Prabhas C — Google review
Mount Bierstadt is a great beginner-friendly 14er, but be prepared for crowds — it’s one of the more accessible peaks, so it gets busy fast. We hit the trail around 4:30am, reached the summit by 6:30am, and made it back down around 10am. Starting early is key to beating the traffic and the sun. The trail is moderately steep, but nothing too technical. It’s a solid workout without being overwhelming. The final push to the summit gets a bit rockier, but still very manageable — I did the entire hike with my dog, and we both had a blast. If you want a more peaceful experience, camp nearby the night before and get an early start. Overall, it’s a fun and rewarding hike, especially if you’re easing into 14ers.

Our first 14er! Took us 7 hours up and down (we are weak so needed many breaks going up hill). Got to the trail head abt 6:30 and parked abt half a mile down the road.

The Georgetown Energy Museum offers an educational and entertaining experience for visitors interested in learning about electricity generation and the mining history of Georgetown. The museum features interactive exhibits that showcase the workings of electro magnets, Jacobs ladder, and hydroelectric power generating plants. Visitors can explore the old equipment, watch the giant wheels spinning, and tour the small facility to gain insights into the history, engineering, and antiques related to power generation.
Great little free museum to learn a some interesting history and physics. The man working inside was super helpful and showed us around the place. Highly recommend making a stop if you’re in Georgetown! Google says temporarily closed, but the museum was open.
Morgan R — Google review
I was able to get here during the week, so there was not an issue with parking or a crazy amount of people. I was able to get a one on one tour of the still working power plant. There is plenty of literature with the pictures and pieces of the museum.

Way cool! Carol was amazing and very knowledgeable. So fun...

Though Google says it's closed, we drove up and it was open. This place is really cool and talks about the history of power generation in the area. The guide was very helpful and informative. Unfortunately, the power generation has been stopped as of 4 months ago, but the site is still open as a museum.
Renae M — Google review
A power plant that has been there for forever. A good mix of history, engineering, and antiques. The tour was about an hour or so, including a lot of questions we were asking. My favorite part were the very old tools and equipment that we didn't have time to go over in the tour official tour, but what the guide was happy to talk about when we asked him.
Scott W — Google review
Visit a historic, functioning, hydroelectric power generating plant in Georgetown. Just up the Main street, easily accessible. Pleasant museum guide answers questions and seems interested in explaining how the wheels turn to produce alternating current. See and hear the giant wheels spinning! See the old equipment and tour the small facility. It's free, but donations are recommended.
Jennifer K — Google review
This is a great little museum to visit for a quick tour. We had a very enthusiastic gentleman show us around and it's a nice little spot to see historic objects and photographs. It's just at the end of downtown, so easily accessible. Free admission and donations are appreciated.
Gillian A — Google review
This is what i sent the museum in an email: We found your museum online and were excited to visit. My husband is an electrician, and my boys were excited to learn more about electricity. We walked in, and the museum guide immediately told us, "this is NOT a place for children!! We are a live plant and make electricity here!" My husband and I were taken aback at how rudely we were treated. There is NO mention anywhere on your website about children not being welcome. If this is the case, please add that to your site so other families don't have to go through what we did.

Such a gem of a small town park. Not often you stumble upon such a well maintained Leathers & Assoc. playground in colorado. These playgrounds are packed full of features and super fun to explore. They feel like a giant maze sometimes. I love how this one blends in with the surrounding architecture. Come in the fall and soak in the beauty of the changing colors.

Absolutely loved this park. My children didn't want to leave. It was the perfect break for after leaf-peeping. Right by the main street where you can walk around to the cute shops.

Great little park. We stopped on our way to the Georgetown railroad to let our son burn some energy before the ride and were so happy we did. Great play structures, a gazebo, picnic tables, outhouses, and grass to run around.

My husband and I were touring Georgetown and were walking by the historic fire station when the tour guide called out to us to say a tour was just starting. She was the nicest lady ever, dressed in costume of the era and gave us a detailed tour of the historic fire station. She stayed long beyond closing time to give us and another group this tour. I have visited Georgetown Gallery twice during my trips to Colorado and I really enjoy the fact that all the artists rotate their works in the gallery. It's a delightful experience engaging in pleasant and informative conversations with them. Additionally, I appreciate that all the artwork is reasonably priced at this art gallery.
I have purchased items here on two different trips to Colorado. My favorite part is that the artists all take a turn at the gallery. They are always very pleasant and conversations with them are fun and informative. All pieces are reasonably priced!

Great spot to stop and relax for a while. Beautiful scenery all around. Looks like they put a lot of thought and the lookout and it was nice to read the history over the area. I did not see any bighorn sheep but I wasn't there early or late when they said they were out.

Make sure to check out the Georgetown Wildlife Viewing Area. You get two incredible views in one spot: a peaceful lake on one side and rugged cliffs on the other. It's also one of the best places to see Georgetown's bighorn sheep, and they even provide free monoculars to help you spot them.

This place is so cool. The lake is beautiful and looking for animals is great. My 8 year old daughter could have spent the whole day there.

What a great place to remotely work. The staff are very friendly and accommodating! I loved my view for the day! The desk was wonderful (electric desks which transition easily from standing to sitting). The workspace was bright and airy. The snacks and beverages were tasty with plenty of fresh water on hand. Hand sanitizer provided was pleasant smelling and readily available. I loved walking to town for lunch and around the area during the day for short breaks outside. I will definitely utilize this space again if it continues to be available.

Great place to study! Beautiful historic building that also houses historical archives of the area. The cultural arts program of the town puts on some awesome events here like Rocky Horror Picture Show, Mountain Jams, jazz bands and more! Sometimes when I'm there studying I think the ghosts are downstairs flushing the toilets but it adds to the ambiance, haha!
Isabeau W — Google review
My power went out twice last week, thank goodness for this space. Not only is the internet fast, but the space is BEAUTIFUL! The desks were well equipped with power outlets and extra monitors so I didn't have to bring a second screen to get my work done. The staff was really friendly and helped with anything that I needed (and were able to give me some incite in to some of the history of the town too!). It was a very comfortable working area and I was able to get a lot done. The coffee and snacks were also a bonus!
Fiona T — Google review
I feel like this place can get overlooked easily, and it's pretty cool. Seems like any old building, and when you walk in it's really really old. We spoke briefly with the lady at the front and she was really nice. The guy upstairs however, was like a walking history book. Amazing.

Established in 1929, this unique trading post offers visitors a shopping experience featuring regional art, specialty foods, Native American crafts, jewelry, pottery, western art and books. It's an ideal place to find distinctive souvenirs.
Beautiful area, nice drive around the park. Lots of areas to pull over and take pictures, really nice mountain views. Huge souvenir store with lots of really nice stuff, fudge spot and a restaurant. Had a really nice visit and the park is free to enter, they have a place in the souvenir store if you want to make a donation. Enjoy
Hank B — Google review
This trading post has it all. Clothes, souvenirs of all kinds, decorations, toys, etc. The employees are helpful and very polite. The restrooms are clean and convenient being central to the park. There is a restaurant inside (Balanced Rock Cafe) that serves delicious wraps and burgers. We ate here twice during our short stay it was that good!
Brandon E — Google review
Wow! Outside of the most stunning parts of national parks, I've never seen such extraordinary natural beauty. The rock formations are stunning and change dramatically as you observe them from different vantage points. The park is very well maintained, and it's FREE. DO NOT skip the Central Garden trail. After that, explore any of the other dozen named trails. If I could give 10 stars, I would!
Rod T — Google review
The Trading Post is located within the boundary of the Garden of the Gods park. In addition to standard gift shop merchandise and very cute gift items, the shop consists of numerous local and Native American vendors selling beautiful art, jewelry, and some clothing. There is also a cafe and ice cream shop located within the Trading Post, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Toilets are available within the store and were clean. The prices were a bit high on the gift shop merchandise, but they do have some unique items and a great children's book section.
Dawn J — Google review
Beautiful scenery, quiet location. Parking is a hassle sometimes, but you can stop along the road and take pictures every now and then. Make sure to check out balance rock and other sights. I give it a 👍🏾.
Bernard M — Google review
This place was huge! At first I thought that they sold only tourist items, but the good stuff was towards the back. They offered a large variety and selection of Southwestern Native American jewelry as well as other handmade products including knives and accessories. I was helped by Kat and she showed me some very beautiful earrings including a vintage pair when I mentioned I was looking to buy some for a good friend. I also purchased this sterling silver belt buckle (pictured) for myself, which happened to be on sale. On my way out I bought some fudge, which was very delicious. This place was a nice gem of a shop that I stumbled upon while I was heading out of Garden of the Gods Park. I’d visit it again the next time I’m in the area.

Grizzly Creek Gallery is a delightful venue, adorned with admirable artwork that exudes an inviting atmosphere. The proprietor warmly greeted visitors, allowing them to promptly find seating. Moreover, the delectable cuisine served there adds another layer of satisfaction. If you find yourself in town, it's highly recommended to make a stop at this gallery. As someone who has an interest in photography and visited this establishment, I was captivated by the multitude of captivating photographs on display. It left me in awe!
My grandson and I stopped by Gary's gallery today. Gary's work is superb and prices are reasonable. His love for the craft is evident when you speak with him about his art. We also met the gallery director, Natalie today and she was very kind - especially to my grandson! Thank you Gary for sharing your photos with the world.

Just happened to discover this gallery and was thrilled. I purchased a photo for my grandson for Christmas and my daughter couldn't have been more pleased. It was perfect. We visited the gallery today, as well as many other shops. I almost bought one of the hummingbird feeders which were supposed to be "handpainted" by artists from Evergreen, CO. I noticed it had a wrap on the outside of the glass feeder. I asked if we are supposed to remove it after purchase and he said we are supposed to leave it on. As I studied the feeder closely, I could see the dots were printed on that wrap, so I began to question if the columbine flowers were truly painted on the glass. I found a hummingbird that was part of the glass and saw where the plastic lifted over it...and so did the flowers printed on the plastic. I told him about it and he just said, "oh." He has some pretty photos, but now I question everything else he told me, like how his colors aren't enhanced at all and he doesn't use any type of photo editing software on his photos. The Red Fox Pup photo I bought has definitely been edited now that I've examined it back at the hotel, as I still bought a few things for gifts that I had picked out before discovering the truth about the feeders. Mind you, I don't care if a person edits a photo or prints flowers on a wrap, etc...if they are simply honest about it. He should know his products and shouldn't claim things about them if he isn't certain. I won't shop there again.

Alice, Larry, and Laura are just awesome. My family and I went there, and we were very warmly greeted and showed around, we bought a super cool rooster birdhouse. I highly recommend this gallery.

I love exploring and purchasing from shops in the many historical Mountain towns of Colorado. When I stepped into the Stonehenge shop an older, robust, man behind the counter, frowned at my Husband and I. No smile. No welcome. When I approached him. He literally snarled and turned his head away from me. I seriously wondered if ALL the Historic Georgetown shops treated minorities this way. I found something I like upon entry. I would NEVER support the ignorant indignities of this shop . . . especially after reading a post from another minority. Luckily "My Lovely Company LLC" quickly restored my faith in the Historical shops of Georgetown. Maria Henchan was awesome and her products are Outstanding! I wish giving NO STARS was an option. That's what this place really deserves.

Chock full of wonderful pottery and unique Colorado crafts. the owners have been so helpful in assisting us with tracking down specific things and calling vendors to request specific items for us. Cannot recommend them enough!

I was upset by my experience on August 12th, 2019. The art is beautiful, however I do feel bad for the artists who sell their art in the store. The woman at the front desk is very rude. She would not help me, and snapped at me whenever I asked a simple question. I was about to purchase a $400 piece of art, but she treated me horribly and so I left before purchasing the art. If the artists see this, please have a conversation with her or sell your art elsewhere because your art is beautiful and I hate to see sales negated due to costumer service. Thank you.
Meep S — Google review
Horrible experience with my family today. When we first entered, it was a charming place with a lot of amazing art! My whole family was really excited, but when I had a question about a specific price of art she was very neglectful. When I tried to get her attention for the 5th time she finally turned around and yelled, “i’m busy!” “I just wanted to know how much this is” I said. she ignored that as well! Then she started giving dirty looks to my whole family! I tried not to get that mad but I could tell she was making my children Scared. My wife and I decided that we should just go, but when I signaled for my family that we should get going. She came from behind the counter and yelled in my face, saying that I was being really rude and started stomping violently on the floor. That’s when we and several others in the store got out of there. BOTTOM LINE: DON’T SELL YOUR ART HERE AND DON’T GO SHOPPING HERE
