The Cosmosphere, located on the Hutchinson Community College campus, boasts the largest combined collection of US and Russian spaceflight artifacts outside of Moscow. The museum features a planetarium, dome-shaped theater, re-created rocket lab, and numerous space exhibits that will transport you back to your childhood dreams of becoming an astronaut. Visitors can explore artifacts flown in space and replicas of rockets and space shuttles while learning about the space programs of both countries.
This place was awesome. The kids enjoyed every second of it. We saw 2 different movies in the theater domes. They really loved the science lab. The science lab was very informational and she involved the kids. The museum was amazing. The cafe and theater concessions were expensive.

A very interesting and informative afternoon. It's nice that they have taken every age group into account. I'm old and had a good time, and I also could see my grandkids hanging a blast. Bring a jacket! It's really, really cold in there. I would call first and see how busy they expect it to be that day. If it's going to be pretty slow, then it might be best to buy tickets when you're there. Theater prices for food.
Gavin G — Google review
Very cool place to go. You can learn lots of space & history. They have several movies that you can watch, which I did not because my grandsons didn't want to see any. As far as buying tickets in advance, that would be your preference. The time that I did have to wait in line, It wasn't terribly long. They also have a cafe on site and they have a very nice gift shop as well. There it's also a kid zone where smaller children can go in and play and make things with an adult.
Kathrina B — Google review
We had a fairly large group,4 school age children, 3 adults, bought the "everything included" ticket, had a blast! Informative, fun, all rolled into a well kept facility. We especially enjoyed Dr Goddard lab show and the Blue Angels simulator. Great museum kept the kids interested. I recommend!
Annette L — Google review
This is a really cool place where you could spend the entire day! We literally closed the place down and still didn't get to do everything! Well worth the drive off the interstate! The gem for us was the command module Odyssey from Apollo 13! Staff is uber friendly and made for a fun time. It wasn't crowded, but it was Thursday, which made the visit quite enjoyable. The planetarium shows were topped notch! If you're into space, put the Cosmosphere on your must do list!
Tony R — Google review
Hutchinson, KS has a gem among gems when it comes to Air and Space museums. Do not miss this one. You’re greeted in the lobby with the sight and within reach a flown SR-71 and it gets better around every corner. If you love space flight this is Valhalla.
Michael W — Google review
Much better than I expected. Spent 2.5 hours there looking at and reading the exhibits. You cou blow thru in 90 minutes if you don't like reading scientific and historical info. There are additional features such as a dome theater which I will view on another visit.

Strataca, located in Hutchinson, Kansas, is a renowned salt mine museum that offers an immersive experience into the city's salt mining history. With over 30 years of operation, it stands as a vital pillar of Hutchinson's economy. Visitors can explore the massive salt deposit by descending 650 feet underground in just 90 seconds via a double-decker hoist. The museum also features guided tours, train rides, and exhibits that showcase the significance of salt mining to the city's financial stability.
We arrived too late on Sunday for the last tour and they are closed on Monday, but they were nice enough to let us stay in their RV parking lot so that we could wait for them to reopen for tours on Tuesday. I'm so glad we stayed and waited. This was by far our favorite attraction in Kansas! From the moment we entered the hoist I felt like we were on a great adventure. We traveled 650 feet underground in just 90 seconds. We had such a fun time exploring the underground tunnels, learning about how the salt is mined and moved above ground, and about the underground storage facilities used by the movie industry and more. I'm so glad the government didn't dump their nuclear waste here so that we are now able to explore this underground treasure. The staff were all very friendly and knowledgeable and you can tell they take great pride in what they do.

This was a really interesting activity during my recent visit to Kansas. I was able to walk in and buy a ticket for the Combo tour (Salt Blast Pass and the Salt Safari). Had about a 10 minute wait until they took us down 650 feet in a dark elevator. For the first half hour we were on our own to explore, look at the exhibits and watch the videos. Then we got on a small train for a narrated ride through the mine. Following that, those of us who chose the Safari were seated in a small electric cart driven by Larry. He took us all over the mine, telling us many interesting facts and stories and pointing out different things along the way. At one point we entered the non-electrified area, so no overhead lights. The only light was from the cart's headlight and the flashlights he gave us. The road was very bumpy but Larry is a very careful driver. This was the best part of the whole combo tour and we saw the mine as it was back in the 1940s and 50s - trash and all! A couple times we were allowed to get off the cart and pick up chunks of salt as souvenirs. Highly recommend touring Strataca, and if you're the least bit adventurous be sure to do the Combo tour!
Barbara S — Google review
My kids and I loved spending our afternoon here. My kids are 17 and 7 and they both enjoyed it. One of them is a bit claustrophobic and was nervous about riding the hoist but it was fine and once you are underground it is very spacious and open. We loved the exhibits, learning about the history of the mine and our guides. I would highly recommend taking the train ride and doing the dark ride. We will be back in the future!
Jessie W — Google review
This place is really fun and definitely worth checking out if you are in the area. We had tickets for 2 tours and the dark ride I think, and yes, in one tour and the dark ride, you are allowed at one time each to choose a rock from a pile that you can keep. Tour rock was to be no larger than a hard hat, dark ride no larger than your fist - or you could fill a small bag with rocks, which was actually better in this case because most rocks seemed too large. There are no bags to carry these rocks in and you will need to carry them around until you leave for the most part. There is a table you can leave them on while you continue to shop or explore, but there are no bags to store them in. Whole some information overlaps in tours and can get repetitive for folks who have been to each, they have their own charm, and I enjoyed them. We did learn a lot about the salt mines and the tour guides were all quite educational and friendly. The shaft to get down/up can be a little shaky and sometimes they leave the light inside off. We did on the way down and I felt a little dizzy after - they will turn it on if you ask, it's not a big deal. It was much better on the way up with it on. They have all sorts of events going on, and if we were closer, we'd definitely check them out. This place is worth visiting for sure. Children will find some enjoyment, though it is mostly a museum. The special events might be something they would enjoy more.
Natalia W — Google review
We had so much fun looking and learning about the mine and all the history. I recommend going on all 3 rides thru the mine. Be sure to get your rocks too! The museum was fascinating and don't worry if you don't have enough time to walk thru it before going into the mine, you will have plenty of time after. It's hard to believe you are 650 ft underground! This looks us a little over 3 hours. I will go here again if I get in the area again!

Strataca review WE GOT THE SHAFT!!! 😁 We went down a mine shaft today that is. Toured Strataca, a former salt mine section 650 feet below Hutchison, Kansas. Starting with a 90 second hoist ride down at 10:00 AM and ending with a 90-second hoist ride back up at 2:30 PM, we saw a lot of exhibits explaining the history and techniques of salt mining. The sections we were in were actively mined beginning in the late 1940's through the late 1950's. Active mining has been ongoing and continues to this day mining horizontally at the 650 foot depth. It's all connected, but the current active mining is now about 2 miles away from the section we were in. Besides walking in various exhibit areas, we also got to take 3 tram/train tours back through different sections. We definitely recommend doing the combo-pass to include the "salt safari". It was not "claustrophobic" as the mined sections were all about 50 feet wide and 10 feet tall. It is a consistently about 67 degrees down there every day all year round (very nice). These mines produce road salt, not table salt. One of the rules in the safety briefing was "Don't lick the salt." 👅 Sections of mined out areas are now used for safe, secure, climate controlled, dry storage (as salt naturally removes moisture from the air). We also got to see some of the storage area and some artifacts from movie companies that are stored here. A great experience and well worth the time and admission.
Bill N — Google review
My wife wanted to go to this and I wasn't too excited about it to be honest. But when we got in 650 ft below the ground level and started looking around this is a really cool place. I would recommend anybody taking an afternoon to go in and checking it out. Lot of very cool history down here
Bo H — Google review
We drove from Topeka Friday morning, June 20, 2025. We bought the Combo Pass which included the Salt Safari and the Salt Blast. We had a great time! It was nice and cool, 68 degrees, 650' underground. (97 degrees outside that day) The staff were all very friendly and well informed in all facets of the mine. The tram tours and train ride were fun and informative. Everyone has such a wonderful sense of humor! We also stopped by the gift shop and bought a couple of T shirts to have a remembrance of our time there. We would recommend adding Strataca to your bucket list!

Dillon Nature Center, located in Hutchinson, Kansas, is a 100-acre urban sanctuary that serves as an oasis for nature enthusiasts. The center features over 300 species of woody plants, native grasses, and wildflowers. It is also home to a diverse array of wildlife including 200 species of birds. Originally owned by the Dillon Stores company, the area was donated to the city and has since become a popular destination for families looking to explore the natural world.
DNC is one of my favorites places to be. It's usually not packed but there are times during the summer where weddings take place and the parking lot will be full. You can fish there. There are benches to sit and watch the pond. I like taking my dogs to walk there through the trails. There are little markers to help you not get lost if you are worried about that. It's very peaceful. And pretty decently sized. There is a visitor center in doors. But I have never been in there. The bathrooms are in there. This is a HUGE place to take pictures for all kinds of events so just be aware of that during the end of the school year, senior pictures. I come here on my lunch breaks and read too.

There’s never been a time when I went to the nature center and did not absolutely love it. What a relaxing and beautiful place to spend time alone or with family. It is amazing to be blessed with the healing that nature offers. From kids summer camp to garden club or walking my dogs I will say; this is quite possibly my favorite place to visit in Hutchinson.

Beautiful, tranquil gem in Hutchinson. We visited while waiting for our experience at a nearby museum. We enjoyed the indoor center, then walked around the lake and went through the childrens outside explore center. Would love to spend more time here walking and exploring. Good access for wheelchair too. They even allow fishing.

A little treasure in Hutchinson! My kids and i traveled to Hutch for Cosmosphere (totally recommend) next day wanted to enjoy the beautiful weather. Dillon Center has small indoor interactive educational area and then outdoors they have so many activities- play area for kids, pond for fishing, and nature trails. All free. One of my kids’ favorite places we stopped at.

Terrific place to walk trails and enjoy nature .very informative and beautiful. Also the nice lady at the front desk used to live 15 miles from where we currently live .which shows what a small big world we live in

Zoos & Aquariums
Tucked away in the scenic Carey Park, Hutchinson Zoo has been a beloved destination since the mid-1980s. This modern zoo is dedicated to showcasing a variety of wildlife primarily from Kansas and across the United States. Visitors can explore its nine-acre grounds, where they’ll encounter fascinating animals such as prairie dogs, black-footed ferrets, raccoons, North American river otters, bison, and an impressive array of fish in the aquarium.
This zoo is smaller, but such a beautiful little place. The animals were interactive and well cared for. We used the Sunflower Summer app, but it's hard to believe it is free (recommended donation).
Amy — Google review
We attended the River Otters birthday party! It was so much fun. This zoo is not large, but it is clean & the animals are well cared for. It's a nice place to visit for an hour or so.
Lacey S — Google review
It’s a small zoo, but for a free small town zoo, I can’t really complain. They have a decent amount of animals, and the landscaping is great! My only complaint is that they don’t really have anything in the way of wildcats, except an Ocelot, which was unfortunately off exhibit. They had a decent amount of work being done, so hopefully when all that opens up, it’ll be even better.
The A — Google review
Definitely a nice neat little zoo. It is free access!! It had quite the selection of some impressive animals and a train ride! The otters put on quite the show for us! Everything was well laid out and clean. Very friendly staff, you can tell they loved working with the animals.
Albert F — Google review
Nice little zoo. They rely on donations. They also do petting and feeding in which we didn't have time to do as we were just killing time before my gran daughter had to have an emergency tooth pulled.
Angel S — Google review
I absolutely loved this zoo! They suggest $5 a family or $2/person but you aren’t required to donate to enter. Super cute gift shop. Staff was very friendly and willing to answer any questions you had. Cicada turtles were participating in adult quality time and it was weird. The raccoon was sleeping the whole time it’s like it know it’s my favorite and what I was looking forward too so that was a lil sad but it’s gotta be exhausting being that cute 24/7 so I understand. There were a bunch more interesting animals to see though so it was fine. Definitely take the time to stop. The whole park itself is cute.
Ashton C — Google review
What a fun little zoo to visit!!! My littles especially enjoyed the small play areas and the telescope! The animals were moving all about and we got the chance to get right up close to a few of them. The path circles back to the beginning so there's no backtracking. We were there 30-45 minutes but you could stay longer if you wanted! Plenty of picnic tables I wish we could have taken advantage of--next time!
Demi G — Google review
My kids and I enjoy it there. It's not very big but the animals are cool. And, it's free to get in. They ask for a donation via a box and they have a little gift shop where you can buy neat stuffed animals and food to feed their giant koi fish. (My picture doesn't do the koi justice. They're friggin huge.)

A wonderful small museum. It does not charge admission (just a donation if you wish). When we were there they had an exhibit about the Vietnam war that was well done. No propaganda attached just facts about both sides

My child absolutely LOVES the Oodleplex, open every day the museum is, for free. And we rented their conference room for her birthday and it was a GREAT price. The museum is free and the staff is so friendly. Their courtyard is decorated for fall and Christmas and would be a beautiful place to take some pictures. A great place overall when the weather keeps you indoors!
Jessica C — Google review
We make this an annual tradition to come check out this museum while we’re here. Always has some good exhibits.
Sovuthy S — Google review
Very nice museum documenting the local history of the county. Helpful staff, he looked up several items that my wife great aunt had donated to the museum back in the seventies. It was middle of the day mid-week so we were able to park our RV in the lot.
Steve — Google review
Love this little museum. It’s a great place to take the kids when the weather outside isn’t great and the cost of access is only a small donation. The Oodleplex can keep the little ones entertained for hours and parents can enjoy the photographic history of Reno/Hutch.
Clark H — Google review
Small but interesting museum mostly dedicated to the local history of Hutchinson KS. Entry is technically free, but suggested donation of $2 per adult and $1 per child 12 and under. The Attached Oodleplex is fun for young children, nice place to play when the weather is bad. There is also a small research center for local history. There is an elevator for 2nd floor exhibit and Oodleplex.

A unique museum that is free. It had an exhibit on the Vietnam War with visually appealing displays. Since the museum is free, donations are recommended.

Sand Hills State Park in Hutchinson, KS is a sprawling 1,123-acre sanctuary featuring a diverse range of habitats including sand dunes, woodlands, grasslands, and wetlands. The park offers RV camping facilities for outdoor enthusiasts. The ecologically rich dune system showcases wind-deposited sands rising as high as 40 feet and protected by the roots of sand prairie grasses.
been going to this place for years. I do miss the bench that used to be on top of the hill, looking toward sunrises. The trails have been expanded a little and improved. More bathrooms would be nice. I know it would take more work, but more trash cans would be also be nice if people would use them.
Michael W — Google review
We are trying to hit up all the KS state parks and so far this was the least enjoyable one. The campground area is just a circular parking lot which allows the never ending KS wind to be brutal. Some trees could really help this out. There is supposed to be a fishing lake in the middle of the camp area, but the lake was completely dry so there is no fishing available. Was very disappointed to learn that the restrooms were closed even though the website said they were available, so I would not recommend this to any tent campers. The trails are wide and easy to walk on. They intersect on each other and there are different vegetations from prairie to woodlands. Stay on the trails for pups safety as there are quite a few burrs and cacti along the edges of the trails.
April L — Google review
Great secluded park but definitely needs maintenance. Trails are overgrown this summer. No emergency exit on 56th, and the train gets stuck on the tracks often. You can wait on average an hour to get in or out. Many people use the trails as a dog park. If you have a nervous or aggressive dog be prepared to be rushed by uncontrolled big dogs.
Lea H — Google review
I come here for family to be close to one another for a few days. I don't think we should pay like it's got water cuz it doesn't have a drop. I like to fish but I can't. Tree's r filling up where water once stood. The coyotes r so close, they sound like they're really close. It has clean bath houses. They always have nice people watching over the campsites and they take their picture
Carla W — Google review
This seems like a really great state park. It was not crowded at all. The trails are well maintained and marked well. The trails are easy and the scenery is nice. There's a nice big sand hill that is an easy climb and has a great view.
Megan K — Google review
The area was lovely, and my children and I had stopped on a 4 hour trip to get out and stretch our legs. I opened my car door and immediately this random woman (who did not identify herself as an employee until after I explicitly asked her if she was) began approaching me before I even had made it out of my car. She began asking "are you staying here" i was very caught off guard and had said "We're planning on just walking around for a bit" and she begins looking into my car windows and says "Who's we? Do you have a dog?" I'm very uncomfortable at this point as I'm travelling alone with my kids. And I got a little snippy and asked "Is that your business?" And she was clearly iritated that I was not answering her. I asked if she was an employee (She had no name tag, nothing about her marking her as a state park employee at all) and she was very rude with her yes and then saying that people frequently sit out there for her....but again the questions and looking into my car windows was very out of line. Beautiful area but made me extremely uncomfortable right off the bat.

Wonderful place to hike with a lot of ground to cover. My husband I love to go in winter because there are less ticks, but I especially love September because there are a ton of wildflowers. Deet up! Go all year around but watch out for deep puddles and light flooding after a good rain!

Located in Hutchinson, the Kansas State Fairgrounds is a sprawling venue that has been hosting the Kansas State Fair since 1913. This 10-day celebration of Kansas agriculture attracts around 350,000 visitors annually and features fiercely contested competitive departments for livestock, baking, and giant vegetables. In addition to the fair, the fairgrounds host over 600 events throughout the year including livestock exhibitions, weddings, trade shows, and conferences.
This was my first time at the State Fair and it was so much fun! Lots to see and tons of awesome people! SO MANY food options!! I've never seen a sculpture made of butter before! Giant pumpkins and beautiful art! Cows and llamas! The list goes on and on! I'll absolutely be back!

My review isn’t on the Kansas State fair experience, but rather on the horse arenas. The arena itself is fairly nice and it has a lot of space For the riders. There is plenty of stalls in the quality of them is ok; Some of them are kind of beat up, but besides that they’re not bad. There are places to wash your horse. There is also an adjacent arena that we used to practice and it was very nice and could hold cattle.

It was a very hot day but plenty of shade to escape to and some buildings a/c We were there for 4 or five hours and only got thru the animals. Ate pronto pups, blooming onion and funnel cake and a slushie food was hot and delicious

We haven't been in awhile, and we had a great time. Might sound silly, but loved the fair food. Funnel cakes, fried green tomatoes, to the fried jalapeño twinkie. Love some fair food

Went to watch practice preview for Barefoot in the Park. It's great! A must see. If you need a laugh or a great show to watch, this is it. You'll be laughing all night long.

We attended a patriotic concert honoring veterans. The attendance was low, probably due to lack of advertising. The amateur performers were mostly college students; all were excellent. The venue is small, intimate (60 seats), and reasonably comfortable. The concert was free!

The true name of this Theater and production company is Stage 9. Charles Johnston is the artistic director, putting on surprisingly professional caliber productions for a small town community. Fully functioning facility where props and sets are hand crafted. Most production is achieved in house. You'll really want to check out this quality theater in Hutchinson, KS!

Skateland Family Fun Center is a popular spot for kids' birthday parties and family outings. While some find the prices a bit high, it's considered one of the best places in town for children's parties. The center offers private party options, ensuring a more intimate experience for smaller children. Skateland also participates in the Kids Skate Free program, making it an affordable option for families.
Every Saturday you get a Free Pizza Slice ticket for Papa Johns Pizza. They serve a few varieties of flavors. They had Cheese, and Meat Lovers when I went. Next time I go I will update on additional flavors. It was simple and straightforward to hand in the ticket, and receive the pizza. The atmosphere, and music was great. They also accept song requests. People went up to the mic, and sang along with the songs. That was so great to see, I loved that! Overall the people, and workers were nice. If anyone fell they would stop to make sure they were ok. Also everyone was a good sport, and laughed at themselves and others as they'd almost fall. It's like the scenario as close mates, first you ask if they are ok, then you both crack up laughing. I missed the nostalgia of Skating, and will definitely be coming back every weekend!
Satirical S — Google review
The DJ is on point here. If you have song requests they will play them! We also got free pizza (Pappa John’s) the night we came (Saturday). Lots of kids rollerblading and roller skating. Fantastic atmosphere and clean. Plus fun games to play while skating! Highly recommend this place!

Here from Florida for a big family Christmas & a few of us found the rink. I’m ‘xyz’ years old and this was my first time skating in a rink!! 😆 it was a lot of fun, The teens in our group loved it. The Christmas tree and lights was cool, disco ball & music, music videos…All totally gave a 80’s vibe!

This place used to be one of my favorite hang outs as a teenager. It has definitely fallen from grace a bit. It's not as busy as it once was when I was younger. That being said it is still a great place to take your kid. I hadn't even thought of taking my toddler there till I went to a birthday party. My son had so much fun. It's even better cause this rink is in the Kids Skate Free program. If you sign up your kid can skate free. Parents don't have to pay to enter but you do have to rent skates if you want to skate. Otherwise you can just walk holding your kids hand if they are super little. They also have little walker type things your kids can use if they can't get skate alone. So it is a good free time. But it's not just for kids. When mybhusband and a I went for that party we skated and it was a lot of fun even if we were horrible. Lol! It's on our list for a future date night :).

We had my grandson birthday party here. Fun for all, but the price for the birthday party to me was a bit high. Though for this town there aren't many places that you can have kid parties. Now we had rented it out for a private party, so that was a little higher, but we didn't have to worry about having other people around since we had smaller children. But we had to take drinks, the cake and whatever else we wanted. For that much money you would think that they could serve drinks and if not a cake something else.

Very reasonably priced showings of classic movies. The building remains in GREAT shape and is very historical. The volunteers are very friendly, helpful, and informative. On a recent visit, my wife forgot her phone by her seat. They went out of their way to make sure she got it back yet that evening!

If you're on the hunt for a nostalgic dining experience, look no further than R-B Drive In in Hutchinson, Kansas. This charming, family-owned drive-in has been delighting locals since 1948 with its mouthwatering jumbo burgers and hand-cut fries that are simply irresistible. The menu also features delightful shakes and malts to complement your meal perfectly. Known for their commitment to quality, R-B Drive In serves up fresh ingredients that keep patrons coming back for more.
A historic drive-in that also has a small area inside for eating. They are open Monday-Saturday for lunch, but only Thursday evening for dinner. They have GREAT prices and a wide variety of hamburgers and other sandwiches.

Drive in restaurant with bar style seating inside more suited to smaller parties. They do have 2 outdoor tables that seat 6 each. Food is made fresh to order. The last time we went, we called and ordered an hour ahead so our food would be ready when we arrived because the lady told us it's was a 45 minute wait and we were on our way somewhere with specific amount of time to spend there, but despite calling ahead and our food ready when we arrived, we still ended up waiting about 40 minutes. This was our first time calling ahead with an order, so I'm not sure if this is normally what happens if an order is called ahead. I hope not. However, despite that, the service has been great every other time I've eaten at this establishment and sat inside.

***** for deliciousness!! ***** for the fun, retro atmosphere!! We had the belt buster! It was so good! 6 of us split it! They're HUGE! The fries were tasty! We really enjoyed lunch! Downside is the wait, we did have to wait close to an hour. We saw several people come in and pick up their called ahead order, that would probably be the way to do it! Update: came again this New Year’s week all the way from FL and R-B still does it the best!!!

Had heard great things. Had to wait an hour for our food. People that ordered after us got their food before us. We had to call the car hop over to ask about our food. When she brought it to us it had obviously been sitting the bag was greasy. My fries were cold and hard and the burger grisly. Sad first experience.
Dawna M — Google review
The only thing I'm disappointed in, is that I was not able to leave a tip for the waitress by ordering on line...I just rarely carry any cash. I pay for just about everything with a card. Also, the Pork Tenderloin was CRAZY good. Loved it.

Son and I have been teaming up to donate Power Reds for the American Red Cross for about 3 years now. Afterwards, I took him out for lunch/dinner before he headed off for work - great food and a t-shirt for him later - we had a good afternoon! They were blasted with door dash, call ins and walk-ins like us, to the tune of 30+ minutes, but hands down best hamburgers in town (and it was onion ring day too, so BONUS!)
DJ B — Google review
Absolutely delicious hidden gem. Service is always amazing and food is always delectable. The limeades, fried mushrooms, and burgers are top tier. Yes, you will have to wait a bit for your food, but they make everything to order and it is so so worth it.

The go-to place for a classic made cheese burger. Love the R-B Special burger with grill onions. Sandwich includes patty, pickles, lettuce, tomato, onion (grill on request) cheese, and ketchup. Their fries are always quite delicious! Pretty busy place as our wait was 40 minutes. But that gives you time to check our all the Hutchinson memorabilia inside. A side note, there doesn't seem to be a restroom available for use. Their onion rings are fantastic, available on certain days.

Salt City Splash Aquatic Center is the perfect place to beat the heat and enjoy a refreshing aquatic adventure. With thrilling slides for both adults and children, a 50-meter Olympic-sized pool with diving boards, children's splash pools, and floating toys, there's something for everyone. Whether you want to relax by the pool or experience the excitement of the water slides, this aquatic center offers a variety of activities for families to enjoy.
This is one of the top water parks in Kansas. My family and I absolutely had a blast there. It splits in two sections which is great, one section for toddlers and the other for older kids and in the middle sits 2 water slides that are great for kids and adults. There is also a splash pad. Concession stand! And so much more! Get out there and try it out!
Jakin F — Google review
Great splash park and swimming pool! Love that it’s all in one and usually you can get a chair next to the flowers. Both slides are fun, see which one you think is faster! Wade swim or bake your choice! Not a bad snack bar either if you’re really hungry they even have hamburgers…..haven’t tried them but I’m told they’re good.👍 kid approved.

I go here to swim laps. Lap lanes are always open and never seem to be busy. Lifeguards always appear to be very attentive to the swimmers.
Sarah M — Google review
So, my first rating of Salt City Splash was all 5 stars. It has now changed. The bathrooms were filthy and the 15 minute safety checks are really an advertisement for their concessions. One lifeguard made our experience rather rough. I was swimming laps, but had taken a brief break when she literally said get out. Not, if you are done please leave the lap lanes. She called out several others for different things, but the two guys wrestling in the pool splashing her, we're fine because they were flirting with her. She looks to be the youngest lifeguard and wearing some gold chains around her neck. Tell her to be consistent or minimally be kind. You turned it around for me. The world is already sad enough without your adding salt and vinegar to wreck the whole reason we went. A sixteen year-old on a power trip today, made me question if I want to go back. Obviously, the little short girl life guard with long brown hair has a Napoleon Complex.

First time at the Farmer's Market in several years. I love that it's grown so much. We arrived later in the morning... So, everything was already picked over a little. That's our fault but I loved what I saw. We'll just have to get there sooner next week. Bought several items and was blown away by the little bread vendor at the end of the isle. Love, love, love the look at taste of their bread. I was so excited to see Parisian looking breads. (I so totally forgot that I'm on this strict diet and not allowed bread right now) I bought 2 different kinds of bread. A large french baguette and a ciabatta loaf. So, excited to use for my dinner parties. Oh, and I grabbed some of their flour to try my hand at making my own. On a side note... would love to see some foodie trucks at the market selling breakfast or brunch items. Just a thought.

I stumbled upon Salt City Brewing Company during trivia night and found it to be a vibrant and enjoyable establishment. The atmosphere was lively and entertaining, with large screens displaying popular games. The server provided excellent service, being both friendly and efficient. I particularly enjoyed their Cherry Wood Blond beer, which I indulged in for most of the evening. It is undeniably a great spot in town that I would definitely revisit should I return to the area.
Had a good meal and some nice beverages. Speed of the kitchen and table service was on par with the number of people in the main area. Sandwiches were both good. Will be back .

Popped in for lunch. The establishment was clean and had a nice atmosphere. Service was quick and friendly. Lunch menu had a good variety to choose from. Jalapeño jam burger was a good size and put together well (not sloppy). It had good flavor, I would have preferred it rare but I I wasn’t asked how I wanted it cooked. The sweet potato fries were some of the better fries that I have had, crispy and not super oily. Price was good for the quality of the food and service. Overall a great stop for a quick lunch. Would eat here again and recommend to others.

Great atmosphere, food and incredible service. Ask for Sam! She was the best waitress! Super funny and genuinely happy. I wish I took pics of the food but I was hungry and the food was too delicious to stop eating for pics. Highly recommend the BBQ burger and Salmon. The Sweet Potato fries were the BEST sweet potato fries I’ve ever had… I don’t know how you’d make them better…. Finally I recommend the PB&J shots.

Went to Salt City Brewery expecting beer and maybe a decent sandwich. Left with a full belly, sweet potato fry addiction, and a newfound respect for one of the hardest-working waitresses on Earth. The Reuben? Delicious. The sweet potato fries? Basically dessert disguised as a side. Now, onto the chaos: One waitress mysteriously vanished like she got drafted into the Hunger Games mid-shift. The other? She became a one-woman army. Taking orders, running food, refilling drinks, probably brewing the beer in the back—who knows. She was everywhere at once and somehow still friendly. It was packed, it was wild, but she held it down like a champ. Props to her and to the kitchen for cranking out tasty food while the front-of-house turned into a solo act. Would definitely return (and maybe bring her a trophy).

Came for dinner with son and friends for a graduationnget together. Nice place, we felt rushed 1st of all. The waitress kept asking us if we were ready to order. Appetizers werr barley ordered. We felt like they were trying to get us in and out. When we were ready to order, they didn't have anything we wanted on the menu. I wanted the prime rib sandwich, and another person wanted the prime rib, nope sorry we are out @ 6pm om Saturday. Ok, let's get some wings... nope, we are out. Really? What do you have? The food was good. I got a Reuben. Was pretty good. I was kinda small sandwitch for the price but was enjoyable. Enjoyed the fried pickle sticks. My wife got a big pretzel and was pretty good with beer cheese sauce. We got some chips as well they were ok. Everything was pretty salty, I get it keepmem thirsty. The owner, I guess he was, spoke with one of us and appoligized half heartedly in my opinion and tried to blame the waitress. Didn't think that was cool. Again, I think they were expecting a bigger growed later on and felt rushed, I never even was offered a refill on my drink. Inasked for a to go cup and got it, but guess what, there were out of lids 😆. This maybe a local favorite, but to be out.of so.many food items on an early Friday evening is not good. I'm my opinion. A lot of potential here.

I attended a birthday celebration at your restaurant on 05/31. The waitress was helpful & friendly but, the sandwich was a 2 out of 10! The slender, heel of bread was used, No Cheese or Condiment was included even though it was listed on Menu. Will not return for food but, Beer was Fine!

If I could give this place negative stars I would. Brought family to celebrate their anniversary. It was 15 minutes before we even received water, we finally ordered a cocktail and 2 beers. 1 draft beer was flat, I mean flat flat. My husband brought it to the waitresses attention and she said it was flat from “sitting at the bar before bringing to the table “….. What? He did not drink it and they still charged for it. The cocktail I ordered was not good. We had intended to order dinner but after it took an hour just to get a burned pretzel for an app we bagged it. Staff was very unorganized, the place was NOT busy, it was dirty and the owners large slobbery dog just roamed through the restaurant stopping at tables…. Nasty. Clearly won’t be back.

The most humble theater that I have visited in my life. You may be like me and assume they don't have reclining seats and you would be wrong. Visited last week with a local friend and the rewards program gave like $5 off. . . . . Saw 'Weapons' — was disappointed

We just spent $37 to see the matinee movie, and the “sound system” sounded like a $10 transistor radio from Wal-Mart. It reminded me of the speakers we used to hang in our car windows at the drive-in back in the 80’s. The movie itself also froze up three times, but thankfully it was able to restart in a few seconds. This theater is in SERIOUS need of updated equipment, especially if they want to keep charging $12.50 to see a matinee!!!
Rob D — Google review
My two disabled grandsons and their mother love going to B&B Theater and because they are homeschooled we take advantage of the Tuesday specials. I am always happy to drop them off and pick them up. Yesterday, 6/17, there was a downpour when I went to pick them up and as I pulled up to the curb a staff member motioned for me to keep going and not do that. Yes, I know this is a fire lane, but I'm not going to sit there and block a fire truck. I have seen numerous people drop off people and pick them up in front of the theater, especially in bad weather. This was a downpour. I think if you are going to single out who can, and cannot, do that, then you need to have signs posted so nobody can do it. Fair is fair. I also think for extreme downpours like yesterday, you can make an exception so people are not sitting through the movie soaking wet. If someone abandons their car in front of the theater, than please tow it. But to pull up and load and unload passengers, in a downpour, that is not a huge deal. Common sense should always prevail.

This would be a five star review if they had the entire bar open. The bartender said that we can order beers on tap but he did not want to open up the full bar for mixed drinks. When asked why? He said he did not want to have to clean up afterwards for just a few drinks, meaning he didn’t think there would be enough orders to make it worth cleaning up afterwards himself for. Not sure if this is in their employee standards book or his own but it was not a crowd pleaser especially since it was on Mother’s Day.

I was very impressed with this must visit location in Hutchison. It is similar to other entertainment establishments, but the staff was nice, the place was clean even at the end of the evening and the games were great. The icing on the cake is the great deals and specials that are right for everyone. The specials can be affordable for most families. Basically, get ready to have a good time.

My kids love this place, and it’s great for me too! The great deals and prices are amazing for me we live in hutch but I think they need better games. Like maybe some coin pusher games just more ticket giving games.
Lindsey T — Google review
I’ve been here multiple times, and the experience is always the same. The staff is unhelpful, rude, and has even given me false information about the kids bowl program. If you don’t know something, just say so—don’t make it up. I’m glad Hutchinson finally has more entertainment options, but for the prices they charge, The Alley really needs to clean up its act.

Fun place for a day out. The staff was friendly and the facilities were clean. I wish there was a better selection of arcade games, some were out of service when we visited. We visited on a weekday and it was not crowded at all.

It wasn't just the place, it was the employees they were awesome, my grandkids all four of them from 10 to 18 at a blast. We will definitely come back here.

Gift shop
Smith's Market, a beloved establishment in downtown Hutchinson since 1933, offers a unique and nostalgic shopping experience. The store is a treasure trove of specialty foods, old-fashioned candies, and nostalgic toys that transport visitors back in time. It's not your typical grocery store; instead, it provides an authentic taste of local offerings with its fresh produce and diverse product selection.
It's a really nice cute marketplace which I definitely recommend checking out if you're in Hutchinson. Every time we visit Hutch we make sure to come by this place. All of their stuff is really good and my personal favourite is their choco chip cookies. Also if you're under 13, try to find an elephant and they'll give you a free banana or an apple. It's just a fun treasure hunt kinda thing.
Mayank S — Google review
We drive up from the Wichita area just to enjoy the Smith Market experience. It's always fun to step back in time and to enjoy the sweets.

This is one of my favorite stores in Hutchinson! They have something for everyone! I could walk around for hours just looking at all the cool products. The candy by the pound is a big hit with my 7 year old son.
Cayla N — Google review
A special store that Hutchinson is lucky to have. Quality produce, Huge selection of specialty pickled items, salad dressings, salsas and hot sauces, funky soda pop flavors, fudge, and candy by the pound, and lots of fun gifts. You can grocery shop and gift shop!
Lucas S — Google review
Nice country market with some local produce and artisanal products. Come check it out and try some candy or old time sodas. They have some weird flavors. I tried the bacon soda, and it was refreshing and dehydrating at the same time. I wouldn't recommend it, but it was fun to try. If nothing else stop in for some complimentary popcorn/coffee/cider in season and say hi.

Smith’s Market is a great place to shop for your produce and candy. The fruits and vegetables are fresh. Never disappointed when I come here. They also have specialty toys, salsa, barbecue sauces, granola, trail mixes, dried fruits and veggies, taffy, they have something for everyone. Definitely a gem of a shop in Hutchinson!

VISIT THIS SHOP! Talk about going back to the past! This is purely nostalgic! My husband suggested we go in this shop and I was hesitant, thinking it was just another grocery store...but I was so wrong! This store is so fun and we loved jumping back into the past! I even found a baton in their novelty toy section! They had a huge selection of candy. We tried the chocolate raisins and the wasabi mix and they were both good. They had candy from ages ago-like candy cigarettes, dots and bazooka and more! They had fun items too! They had different kinds of sodas, like Ranch soda, Buffalo Wings Soda, Dill Pickle Soda...I mean Yum-right! #Hutchinson #kansas #shoplocal #smalltownkansas #midwest #ksroadtrips

Housed in the former 1916 American Hotel, it offers traditional Mexican staples and a buffet in an old-school setting. Visitors can enjoy a wide variety of Mexican foods, with generous servings and homemade tamales that have received high praise.
This is home...as close as I can get to salina. My husband and I come here once a year to eat and get a vat of salsa to take home. LoLA the great is the best waitress and we learned something new today.... it was another world. We love you anchor inn

Not their fault that we got there near closing, so the buffet was limited. Food was good. Would go again at an earlier hour. Service was great, not rushed at all.
Stephen L — Google review
Stopped here last night(Friday). Never been here before, but Mexican buffets aren't too common, so I stopped because of the novelty. The service was great and the atmosphere was fine. The most important part for me is the food. The selection was fair, but I wasn't impressed by the quality of the food. The potatoes were good as was the chocolate cake. The enchiladas were not to my liking, neither was the fish or the chicken dish. I've been to one other Mexican buffet, that was in Omaha. Wasn't impressed with that one either.
Scott — Google review
Great place to go in Hutchinson. Interior is unique. It has been a staple downtown since '77. The staff was attentive. They have buffet Wed-Sat for a reasonable price. Tamales and rice are decent, and I enjoy their tortillas. It's buffet food so don't set your expectations too high. If you order off the menu I feel like the quality is a little better. Good place to hit the bar and watch the game. They also have room for larger parties and events. I'll upgrade to five stars once the restroom facilities get a little more cleaning attention. Consistently good experiences.
Tyler D — Google review
We were there on a busy Friday night. We ordered off the menu. Food was fast and delicious. We ordered chips and salsa. Absolutely the best chips I've ever eaten! Chose to sit at a table rather than a booth so had to sit by the buffet but it was fun to people watch from there.
Nancy A — Google review
Upon arrival, we picked our own seat. After a couple minutes our waitress came and got our drink orders. We all did their buffet. The salad portion was good. The hot portion was ok. The rice was delicious. The enchiladas were ok. The cheese dip was just nacho cheese nothing special. The chips were too hard and crunchy. The little closed fried tortillas were not good at all. The best part of it all was the desert. When we sat down at our table it was sticky. The place was hot and we were sweating. The place seems like it went downhill a little since I was last there.

Country club
Prairie Dunes Country Club in Hutchinson, KS is a must-visit for golf enthusiasts and outdoor adventurers. This picturesque golf course has a rich history dating back to the 1930s and has hosted prestigious international golf competitions. Tucked away from the city, it offers a challenging yet rewarding experience with well-maintained grounds featuring lush rough, green fairways, and smooth greens. The course's natural surroundings provide an authentic Midwest experience with wind and native grass adding to the challenge.
I was very fortunate to get invited to play here with a group of friends. WOW what an amazing course. It’s a golfers dream. I’m a high handicap player so I will say it’s not an easy course but when you are playing somewhere with that quality and history, score becomes an afterthought. The greens were the purist I’ve ever experienced. The staff was very friendly. Pro shop has one of the biggest selections of merchandise that I have ever seen. Which really surprised me due to the location. If you ever get the chance, don’t pass this place up.
Anthony M — Google review
Great layout, one of my favorite. Very tough course that demands keeping your ball in the fairway. I love this hole on the back nine!
Jim C — Google review
Prairie Dunes Country Club was an absolute pleasure! When you get a chance to play a classic masterpiece, you want to know you got its best defense. It did not disappoint! The wind was blowing 25-30MPH, and the fairway and greens were firm and dried out. Plus, the greens were running a smooth 14 with these conditions. That means hit your spot, and don't go long. Perry Maxwell's design was perfect, only to be complemented by his son finishing out the final 9 holes. To think he created this course in the 1930s with a metal blade and horses makes you appreciate this treat even more. The par 3's were fantastic, aesthetically pleasing, and difficult all at the same time. How many times are you gonna find a hole named "The Chute"? Hole number 8 may be one of the best par 4's on this planet. The mounding and dune have your attention off the tee, but quickly, you're demanded to hit an accurate uphill 2nd. Miss all the bunkers and find the green, then the fun starts from there. Bring your imagination, as you'll need it to putt on the "Perry Swells". Whether it's before or after the round, or maybe during; I highly recommend the Gunch Punch. If you stop in the card room, you might have the chance to meet the creator of this libation. This was a treasure in the Plains of Kansas. I wanted to thank the proshop and clubhouse for entertaining us and hope to return one day for another crack at this amazing course.
Justin B — Google review
7 handicapper here. Course was beautiful and the beauty was almost impossible to capture. Golf course was great, but about 15% of the playable areas were burned out. Greens were impossible to score on. Dried out & blazing fast. Would not hold a shot. Fun day, but golf was beyond difficult. Wind was a factor, but not the predominant factor.
Jeremy B — Google review
We were guests of a member here to play this great old links-style course. It was a cold breezy cloudy day and we got off just ahead of the course MGA National Members Member-Guest tournament. The course is built in the natural sand hills so the fairways can be like roller-coasters at times. The bunkers had brown dirt and not sand as most course bunkers do. All fairways are lined with prairie grass that is incredibly dense so an errant ball is as good as gone. And, where we live grasses like that would be harboring snakes so it was hard to think of “going in” to find a ball. Our member host went in several times and he walked out each time with a handful of balls from about 10 seconds of looking! The greens are TOUGH. Almost all are undulating and with no secondary cut to keep a ball from rolling off. Getting a good shot on a green means landing a shot at or around the pin! If you get the chance to play this gem, take it.
C A — Google review
Very nice CC with a beautiful course. Lots of renovations and expansion have made this a destination you will want to come and experience!

The fast food offerings are crafted with care, featuring juicy burgers and crispy fries that have garnered many loyal fans.
I love a good burger so I had to check this place out. Plenty of options to include a triple bacon cheeseburger. Got the double bacon cheeseburger, small kurly fries and a large dutch apple pie shake. Seeing the small made me think the large was a good option...but when they say large they are not kidding. It was easily double the size of the small and it stole the show. Great service and this place has amazing atmosphere with a throwback look. If you want an amazing shake (more like a blizzard) you MUST go here!

I am loving this town. Hutchinson is awesome and this place is another place you have GOT to stop at. 101 different shakes that you can make with a “thick” or “thin,” option. Clean and well kept, with a great 1920’s-1950’s feel, this is great. If you gluten allergies they can do a burger wrapped in lettuce. Employees are super friendly and knowledgeable. 100% recommended. Everyone loved the food, the curly fires were cooked to perfection and the burgers were juicy. What’s NOT to love! Warning! The “small” is the size of a DW large. So you could easily share! The shakes we got: Oreo Oreo Carmel Dr. Pepper Fruity Pebbles

Bogey's is a great place to get a shake! We weren't so impressed with their hamburgers, though. The meat didn't have any flavor, and they were luke warm. The sides were got were curly fries, onion rings, and fried mushrooms. The sides were hot and pretty good. The shakes were amazing! We had a banana cream pie and chocolate brownie. They were both terrific! We'd go back for dessert!
Amy B — Google review
Updated: my burger today was back up to the high standards. Unfortunately the bathroom was pretty awful so I’ll leave this as a 4 star review. I’ve stopped here for lunch several times over the past few years, and while many of the good things are still good (shakes, fries, decor, cleanliness, books for kids, etc) the quality of their burgers seems to have gone downhill. Today’s burger was over cooked and dry, and the bun was dry too. Plus, just one pickle slice on it? Here’s hoping that I’ve just been unlucky and they are better next time I’m back. Still worth a stop the next time you’re in Hutch though!
Ryan A — Google review
I went through the drive through on Saturday August 29,2025 around 7:30pm , I ordered a double cheeseburger paid $6.29 went poured a glass of ice tea and ate that double cheeseburger, I'll tell everyone that was the worst double cheeseburger I've ever had,it was cooked so fast I really question what kind of hamburger they use!!! I wouldn't even give that to my German Shepherd's. I'll never go back there again 👎

While some reviews have been mixed, with some patrons expressing dissatisfaction with the quality of steaks and service, others continue to enjoy the diverse menu offerings.
Amazing food everytime we visit! We couldn't decide on an appetizer so we got 4😁
Niki L — Google review
Although the buffet had a smaller selection of food than Golden Corral or Coyote Canyon, the food was decent especially the fried chicken and the fried shrimp. As for the breakfast items on the brunch buffet, there weren't many items since it was simply sausage, bacon, bread, and eggs. However, the dessert selection was decent and those were pretty good. I noticed that the restaurant has many decorations related to airplanes and airports since it's located inside an airport.
Travis T — Google review
The food was pretty good. My husband really liked his steak. The stuffed chicken was well cooked, but the sauce flavor was odd. Clove flavored wine sauce with sun dried tomatoes? I asked for mashed potatoes instead of rice pilaf, but still got rice, which I am not a fan of. The Brussels sprouts were flavored with horseradish ,which I just wish I had known because I wouldn’t have ordered it. My friends loved their steak salad. I say stick with steak! Our waitress wasn’t super friendly and was a little slow.

Updated 7-12-2025 Under new management and 3 years after previous review. I want to give a huge shout out to the staff. This place is amazing looking inside, and the service was impeccable. Food was on point, and I was throughly impressed with every aspect of my meal!! We were checked on multiple times to make sure all our needs were met. This is the service I expect for a price point of this nature. I won't remove the previous post because I want people to see the changes that have been made. Thank you for a wonderful dinner date with the wife!! Airport Steakhouse, we will be back!! You guys ROCK! 3 years ago The food is very good and the service is decent although there are some staff that can seem a tad bit rude. For the price you pay for the food you would expect a little bit more respect from the staff especially when respect is being given! We always tip well above 20% and never make a scene even when things aren't correct!! But to have wait staff bump you with their rear-end as they are passing without as much as an apology is just very unprofessional. I will say the food is very good as usual but with prices like this I would expect over the top service from the staff!

Always, told this Steak House, as we fly by..... wait what?! STEAKHOUSE?! ... I SEE a tiny airport! So, after six years of knowing it existed, someone asked where I wanted to eat! BINGO! All I have to say, years have been good to this spot, ambience style so cool. Food is even better! This is a mirage in the fields of Hutch, that is true, by word of mouth, from locals! A hidden Jem! Witnessed Grandparents, fly in for dinner, to see the grandchild and family. Only to watch from the window, as they 👋 to them lift off! Food hands down is worth the price. Will return to update review, but not in another 6 years of knowing lol. I was so touched, by the Grandparents' story unfolding, forgot to take a picture of the food. But did get some outside tiny airport pics! ATB!

I’ve been here multiple times and have had an amazing experience but this time, I felt extremely uncomfortable and unwanted in this restaurant. My family and I decided to go out for supper tonight because I got off of work early and wanted a great experience. We had 2 tables give us nasty looks and had nasty remarks about the kids and then I even watched the manager talk to every other table besides ours and even saw her watching our table to see if we would leave. Our server wasn’t attentive to our table at all, I waited 10-15 minutes for a refill on my drink and even had to ask her for it after waiting so long. It seemed she was more focus on the auto gratuity that was added to our bill rather than our table itself. Food was amazing but service and environment could’ve been a lot better.

Food is always good, bonus is being there when there are military aircraft landing and taking off!

Steaks are definitely a bit pricey but so worth the money! Large size and perfectly done! The Mac & Cheese was not very impressive but everything else was perfect, from service to flavor. The drinks were perfect, too. My boyfriend had the steak, and I had the liver, which came out great as well. It was actually the first time I ever saw liver on a menu at any restaurant I visited in the US, and since it's my favourite dish I had to get it. We came from Wichita to give this place a try, and we had a great time. Would definitely recommend this place.

The beers are fantastic, I highly recommend the Redtail or the Swift, but everything we sampled was delicious. They also have food, merch, and games/books. The space is huge and there's a private space to rent. 10/10 beer!
Laura B — Google review
Always a good stop. Love the new addition with a much bigger bar room. Had a group jamming in the corner some excellent bluegrass music. Beer was great as usual. They do a great job of changing the common brews up just enough to make them interesting.
Jeremy T — Google review
Good local brewery with a great vibe. The Flanders red and Golden strong are especially well done. They also have a good table saison. Oh the IPAs work if you are into that kind of thing.
Steven S — Google review
Perfect atmosphere that is family friendly or perfect for a date night. Their food was delicious and their customer service was just as good. We enjoyed the cheeseburger pizza. My husband mixed the chickadee beer with the cider which he enjoyed!
Cassandra W — Google review
Definitely the place to go for beer in town. The quality is spot on, service was super friendly, and the taproom is cool. The Mexican lager should be called prairie chicken, but everything else is perfect. Five feathers.
Thomas C — Google review
This downtown area allows parking in the middle of the street. The brewery is not facing the street rather it's doorway entrance is in a alley but, you can drive through to enter or exit. " confused" don't park a new vehicle in the alley. If your visiting from out of town you'll be fine. Neat inside seating area's. Beer was Pretty average , service is good. The porter was my fave of the 5 tasters tried between us.
M — Google review
Very nice Place. Beer is cold right temperature. Clean and they have a food truck on saturdays. Very clean restrooms. There is a Tesla destination Charger and it works pretty good an hour and you get 40 miles. No super charger but incase you are low on charge you can atleast have beer and some decent food here.

George Pyle Park is a compact recreational area that features a variety of play structures for children and a solitary picnic table. Situated opposite the R-n-B drive-in, visitors can conveniently purchase food from there and then proceed to enjoy their meal in the park. The park boasts serene surroundings, making it an ideal spot for reading or taking a leisurely stroll. This tranquil little park serves as an inviting space to unwind and relax amidst its peaceful ambiance.
Really beautiful and quiet, a nice place to read a book or enjoy a short walk.
Kai N — Google review
It's a really lovely park! The newish playground was exactly what this place needed. It's within walking distance of the Ave. A. Community Center and a local eatery. There's a picnic table there, and it makes for a nice place to eat with the kiddos when the weather Is nice! I wish there was an updated GEO Photo for it! It's not just a space of NOTHING with a building that's falling apart... it's a great little park.
Tyann W — Google review
There is a nice gazebo, a lovely bridge over the Cow Creek, and it's raining GHT next to the Reno County Historical Society. Playground equipment is on the east end. It's well-groomed and a short walk from dining and entertainment downtown
Gina L — Google review
It's a fun park to play at and to walk around. It's near the Ave A Splash pad, Reno County Museum. Sometimes others leave their trash around. There's a trash can by the gazebo.
Trevor G — Google review
It's like other places but without any of the stuff that makes places useful or interesting. Perhaps if I were an animal I would enjoy the lack of spiffy stuff whilst I poo in the grass. But I'm not an animal and don't need to poo here. Very boring.
RC ( — Google review
Small with playground equipment and a single picnic bench. Across the street from the R-n-B drivein, buy your food then go sit in the park to eat.

It was very peaceful and serene watching the fish swim around in individual schools. Highly recommend it if you want some alone time.

This is a great park! Accessible for everyone. They have a playground with a bathroom nearby, walking trails and a pond where you can fish. There is also disc golf if you want to do that. Is very well maintained. We enjoy going out here, just a really nice area of town.
Maura L — Google review
Clean area, the play structure seems well maintained, lots of stickers so I'd hazard to say be careful of grassy parts. The disc golf has 18 or so holes to play, theres a few pear trees back there too for a quick snack. Theres also a little community orchard with apples if that tickles your fancy. the pond seems clean and should be stocked
Ethan M — Google review
The trails are great i love them just wish they would stop cutting down trees. Other issue is trash because kids at night come in and don't clean up after themselves. I've seen vandalism here in the bathrooms and playground. Until the city puts a gate up at night to prevent highschool kids in there it will just continue.
Sabrina D — Google review
If you haven’t visited here yet and walked the trails, mark it as something to do in Hutchinson. And if I was a kid, I’d LOVE the little playground!! Heck, what am I talking about? I love it right now. I’m just too big to play on it. 🤔😄
Ginger L — Google review
Great park for all size kids i have been taking my little for months. My only issue is that people leave trash randomly when there are lots of trash cans throughout the park.
Megan W — Google review
Beautiful magical playground! We really enjoyed playing the instruments and walking the paths. They have a grate bike tool station on the trail.
Sarah A — Google review
Excellent place to bring your children! This park has something for everyone to do. Disc golf, walking trails, and fishing. Even has a bike repair station!

A charming and uncomplicated park, Avenue A Park offers delightful pathways alongside the canal and underneath Main Street. The park boasts an array of stunning flowers, with periodic events like Third Thursday showcasing crafts vendors and talented musicians. Visitors can enjoy concerts on the stage, while seated comfortably on lush grass or blankets. Nearby murals add to the park's charm, along with a few picnic tables and a splash park located at W Ave A and S. Washington corner. Overall, Avenue A Park is truly fantastic!
This is a simple, but charming little park. It's fun to walk the paths around the canal, and under Main Street... the flowers are beautiful. There are vendors with crafts and musicians during Third Thursday and other various events. Periodic concerts on the stage, with lush grass for lawn chair seating or sitting on blankets. There are murals nearby, and a few picnic tables... the splash park towards the corner of W Ave A and S. Washington. A fantastic park!!!
Deborah W — Google review
Had fun playing at the splash pad part of the park with my family. Nice clean park.. lots of trash in the little lazy river part so I didn't let my kids go down there but the rest was nice.

Mama_Mia 7 — Google review
Its ok for a small little park in the middle of town. They have a small stage that local singers use to perform on when the weather is decent. The area does look much nicer than it did when I was younger but still seems like the money could have been spent on other things in town to make more improvements on other problem areas. But it is a nice little park when the weather is decent to go outside and have lunch or just to stretch your legs in.
Brandon B — Google review
This little Park is just stinking cute and well designed. Has a lazy river (no swimming allowed!!! This river has trash deposited into it), an awesome gazebo with a stage for performances with a giant sloping green field to sit on across from it. Also has a free water park for kids during the summer and features some local artists paintings on the sides of buildings near the park. Just a small, adorable yet often used park. Great for picnics
Steven R — Google review
Its a beautiful area. I understand people need to stay cool but been there at the water park the last couple times and there's always homeless people sitting at the only table under the oning with all there stuff, loud music, smoking, yelling and cussing. Don't really appreciate it around small children.
Van J — Google review
I am Kansas author Jae Byrd Wells and I approve of this park. The city maintains the Park, keeping it clean and entertaining. Events drawing friendly crowds spice up the day and night life. Fun for adults and kids alike. The man made and natural surroundings provide numerous adventures. The nearby restroom is clean and well stocked.

35SW Bricktown Park

A Hidden Treasure. This little park is tucked just behind the old strip mall, at the foot of Woody Seat Freeway, Adams and Avenue A. You access it off of 1st. The Hutchinson Police Station is just a 1/2 of a block away (so you can feel super safe), and the river is close enough to walk to and see, but far enough away that you don't have to stress a ton about your kids. There's plenty of parking and a covered picnic area with 3-prong plug-ins. There's a large trash can, (which may not matter to anyone else, but I often like to pick up trash in public spaces when I am not playing with the kids, but I don't love the earth enough to want to haul other people's trash back home in my car if there's not a trash can on site, so I am grateful for the large, easily-accessible dumpster.) Parents, dress to play! There is a ZIP LINE and you and I both know that you are going to end up on there, either making your own theme music or recreating some existing, famous spy-themed classic. If you possess ridiculous amounts of self control, you will still probably end up dragging your kid from the middle of said zip line, to one of the platforms often enough that it pays to dress appropriately. You won't believe how long the zip line will hold your kids' attention! There is also the most brilliantly-engineered rope spider web, and this bad boy could hold a mammoth! It's beautiful, challenging and sturdy. There's also slides and additional features to satisfy your child's crave to climb. DO NOT LET THEM GO BAREFOOT OUTSIDE THE MAIN, DESIGNATED PLAY AREA, THOUGH. SANDBUR STICKERS! We will definitely be back here!
Jessica K — Google review
It was pretty fun. Could use a few more things since there is space and a fence by the river area for kids safety! Do love the No smoking, young lungs at play!

Rice Park offers a variety of recreational activities for visitors, including walking and bicycling trails alongside the creek. The park features specialized play equipment, basketball courts, ball diamonds, and swings. Additionally, there is a nearby park called Vic Goering Park with more amenities along the trail. Visitors can also enjoy playing disc golf in this picturesque setting. However, some visitors have noted that dog owners need to be more responsible about cleaning up after their pets.
Many options for sports and walking...well maintained equipment and buildings.
