The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art is a must-visit for art enthusiasts, housing an extensive collection spanning 5,000 years. The museum features neoclassical and modern galleries, as well as a sculpture garden. Visitors of all ages can appreciate the giant badminton birdie installations on the expansive lawn.
This Museum is superb. It is a very welcoming facility, with excellent staff. It displays a wide variety of paintings and sculpture, from all period and all cultures. There is way too much to see in one day, so plan to space out your visits and focus on particular rooms. The grounds are spacious, and offer beautiful areas for picnics. Be sure to eat a meal there in its inviting setting.

Very elegant. Very well put together. Free admission. 14 dollar parking. After 30 minutes. Really a beautiful place to spend an afternoon with someone you love who loves art. It was worth the visit. I regret nothing. Thank you Kansas City for a wonderful experience.
Nicholas R — Google review
Really cool museum with great outdoor views and space and paintings and art. The art is really awesome with some wonderful pieces. If you were there for a day you could see half of it. The cafe food is really good too with lots of pastries and lunch-brunch food that is really nice on a good day for a picnic. Mini putt is fun including the pieces in the holes. Really fun alone or with a whole family. really really fun.
Abel A — Google review
One of the best museums I've ever been to boasting a wide variety of art and sculptures from around the World! Start off playing nine holes of mini golf which is so much fun! Then go visit the Museum to see all the treasures it has to offer! Then take a break and have a wonderful snack/lunch at the courtyard style Cafe in the Museum. Then back to explore the rest. A great way to spend a few hours if you love Art! Definitely a must visit!
Willie O — Google review
I absolutely loved our visit here. We got to see Van Gogh paintings which we are huge fans of. It was a great experience and I highly recommend it. It’s free entry you just pay for parking and can donate which you get a wristband. Highly recommend.
Jeremy W — Google review
There was plenty to see. Enjoyed seeing the different cultures that were on exhibition. Very beautiful building, clean restrooms, elevator access, huge outdoor open areas for sitting and relaxing. The only off putting thing was the employees , some of them weren’t very friendly. Other than that it was a nice experience. We visited from Omaha as we were in town visiting.
Lucero R — Google review
We spent over 3 hours and barely got through 1.5 floors. So much to see. The European impressionist art on level 1 was stunning. Took a quick break in the cafe Rozelle. Charming. The architecture of the museum building was as impressive as the collection. Modern collection impressive as well. We could have easily spent the whole day if schedule allowed. Admission is free. $14 to park.
Cathy B — Google review
An excellent museum featuring a stunning collection of artwork. The range is impressive — from American history to Chinese heritage — offering a well-rounded cultural experience that truly showcases art in its purest form. I highly recommend visiting, and be sure to explore every exhibit before you leave. With free admission, there’s no reason to miss this place.

Union Station, a historic transportation hub built in 1914, once served thousands of passengers and featured a waiting room capable of holding up to 10,000 people. After closing in the 1980s, it underwent extensive renovations and reopened in 1999 with various amenities such as shops and restaurants. Visitors can explore the train museum on the second floor or first floor near the main entrance.
Expertly restored century building, housing an Amtrak train station, Science City, movie theater (including IMAX), planetarium, live theater space, rotating exhibitions, several restaurants, coffee shop, store, and more. Reopened in 1999 after extensive period restoration efforts, this building is a tribute to Kansas City and is always up-lit with the colors of the moment.
Ann D — Google review
Amazing free public transport in Kansas City. It is clean, spacious, free to ride, and comfortable. The streetcar only has one line of 2 miles from the Union Station to the City Market. They are now constructing and expanding the line further for more reach.
Muhammad A — Google review
Today, we were excited to see Holiday Refelctions. We got to Union Station with my 9 year old son, and my 6 year old Autistic son. This was a big outing for him and he started to get upset at 11:30am, and I asked if we could be let in early because I knew he wouldn't last much longer. They said we would have to wait until 11:45am and we said cool, and we waited while my son escalated. So at 11:45am exactly, we went back to the same guy at the ticket counter, who said we would have to wait. I told him my son was Autistic and not doing well and if we could just get in a bit earlier, but he declined. While it isn't the establishment's job or responsibility to cater to me or my family, it was discouraging that we couldn't get in earlier, as he had promised the first time I asked. There was no compassion for my visibly disabled son. No trying to accommodate or maybe asking if we could get in a bit earlier. So if you have an autistic or disabled individual, definitely do not expect any accommodating. Also, do not take them at their word. They will only let you in at the designated time. Even if they say they will.
Kerin M — Google review
This place is very beautiful and clean, sadly Monday a lot of museum inside the union station wasn’t open, they have train museum on the second floor if you park on the side of the building or first floor on the main entrance, we spent almost 2 hours inside of building to look around everything, also they have a restaurant in the middle of the building too.
Dino P — Google review
Another great family destination in KC area. Wonderful theater and Science City are great year round attractions. Once Christmas season arrives, Union Station comes alive even more so with the model train exhibition and wonderful indoor Christmas tree and lighting.
Wade W — Google review
Beautifully restored historic building with great fine dining, coffee and people watching. Part landmark, part working offices, the 105 year old building is alive and vibrant. Talk to the guest hosts at the kiosk, there’s so much to see that’s not immediately obvious as you walk through. The food at Pierpont is fabulous and the atmosphere unmatched. Harvey’s may not have the same level of food quality but it’s still very good and an amazing experience. Areas can be used for meetings, weddings etc. and would make a memorable backdrop.
Bass G — Google review
Such a wonderful window into history. Take your time to walk around and explore. Be sure to visit the model train exhibit and take a walk on the bridge overlooking the tracks.

I loved this historic building! Be sure to travel to the upper stories to the observation deck and read all about the history and remodel.

Country Club Plaza is a luxurious and premier destination in Kansas City, featuring Moorish-themed buildings that create a Spanish Seville atmosphere. It's a popular spot for wedding and engagement photography, with its beautiful architecture, landscaped grounds, and ornate details. The area is filled with high fashion shops, sweet-smelling flowers, quaint lamp posts, bronze sculptures, and glistening fountains. Visitors can enjoy walking through the outdoor mall while admiring the fountains and mosaics along the way.
I enjoy strolling through the plaza and admiring the architecture. It has such character. There is also an assortment of restaurants and shops. You can eat Italian at The Cheesecake Factory, BBQ at Jack Stacks, or get a healthy meal at Tru Foods. I eat at Tru Foods every time I visit for work. There are several other types of cuisine available, as well. Check out the Made in KC shop for drinks, coffee, jewelry, pottery, KC clothing, and more. A fun game for children could be to count the fountains. At Christmas, the entire plaza is lit up and it’s a treat to watch the lights come on around 4:45pm. You can also take a stroll along the River. It’s just a pleasant spot to visit.
Christy L — Google review
Find just about anything here. At Bo Lings I had a fabulous bubble tea. Candy store had hello kitty items, and the Spanish inspired buildings are just beautiful. Wonderful place to walk around.
Alicia J — Google review
Friends recommended here when I was visiting. I really wasn’t looking for high-end shopping but I enjoyed the statues, architecture and water fountains. (Kansas City is known as the "City of Fountains" and has more fountains than all other cities except Rome. Rome has over 2,000 public fountains, while Kansas City is believed to have more than 200. The city's fountains are a significant part of its culture and identity, with many located in parks, on boulevards,)

Nice place for families! There was an art show this weekend. Food booths not so great! I'm from southwest Kansas. So when you go to a taco booth. You're going to get your money's worth! There was a couple of stages set up for live music. And it was a beautiful evening with the perfect weather.
Patsy G — Google review
The Plaza area is true gem! Its rich history and charming architecture make it a fascinating destination for visitors and locals alike. Walking through the area, you can feel the sense of heritage and culture, and the lively atmosphere adds to its appeal. With shops, cafés, and beautiful public spaces, it’s the perfect spot to explore, take photos, and immerse yourself in a vibrant and historical setting. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience a unique and memorable destination.

Sooo much fun at the 93rd Art Fair on the Plaza. Every year I save my coins to purchase an original art from artist around the country. If you haven’t been it’s always in September. LOVE LOVE THIS! Thank you Sunryse Pottery for my beautiful ceramic soap dispensers♥️

Another amazing meal at Cooper's Hawk! From the salmon spread appetizer to the caramel creme brulee dessert, the food was well prepared and delicious. Our service, starring the very attentive Karmynn, was fantastic as well. I don't usually call out servers by name, but if you can request to be seated with her it's worth a try to ask for her section - even during a busy evening, her wonderfully bubbly personality made our meal even more enjoyable. We topped off a great date night by taking home a few bottles of wine for future enjoyment. We will be back soon!

The Arabia Steamboat Museum in Kansas City is a popular attraction that offers a fascinating journey back to the mid-nineteenth century American frontier. It houses the largest collection of pre-Civil War artifacts in the world, all recovered from a steamboat that sank in the Missouri River in 1856. Visitors can explore exhibits and presentations showcasing everyday items, clothing, and tools from pioneer life.
My wife and i stumbled upon this museum on our travels through KC. All we can say is “WOW!” What an incredible place. Its a giant time capsule from there 1850s. It was so educational to see these artifacts is pristine condition. We also got to meet one of the treasure-hunters that discovered the sunken steam ship. A must see if you’re in this area.
Spencer S — Google review
So I had heard the amazing story of how this was found a few years ago. The determination of the guys was awesome. Glad they decided to keep it all in one place and share it with the world. Amazing to see all that was recovered and the pieces that remained. Really worth the stop if you can make your way to this museum.
Joe H — Google review
Find yourself in Kansas City? The Arabia Steamboat Museum in the River Market is an absolute must-visit — a true hidden gem that left me completely awestruck. From the moment you walk in, you sense that this place is special. The curators have masterfully woven storytelling and preservation into a captivating experience. You begin with short, powerful videos about the steamboat’s tragic sinking in 1856 and its miraculous rediscovery in the 1980s. Then you’re led through exhibit rooms filled with artifacts that seem impossibly well preserved — from shoes and hat pins to tools, kitchenware, and even jars of pickles. The fact that these relics survived underground for over a century is in itself astonishing. One of the highlights is walking along a full-scale replica of the Arabia’s main deck (171 ft long), complete with original boilers, anchors, the paddle wheel, and even a mule skeleton recovered from the wreck. It’s immersive, eerie, and wonderfully educational. What I appreciated most was the balance between big “wow” artifacts and the tiny, everyday items — every jar, nail, or coin gives you a micro-glimpse into frontier life in 1856. The staff is knowledgeable and clearly passionate, and they make the science of preservation feel as exciting as the history itself. If you’re a history buff, a lover of oddities, or just someone who enjoys places that make you stop and think, the Arabia Steamboat Museum will deliver. And as a bonus, its setting in the River Market makes it easy to pair with strolling, local food, or nearby shops. I’m giving it five stars — I’ll be recommending this place to everyone I know.
MyInfoTech F — Google review
The museum had excellent pieces of the lost cargo from the Arabian Steamboat. Loved the exhibits of tools, clothing, and detailed goods needed for the 1850's. We loved the videos put together for the story of the adventurous dig, and the theater show put on for visitors. However one of the staff was a little off-putting near the end of our tour. We talked with two of them. We lacked knowledge on some of the subjects, and frankly even though they explained themselves, I believe they didn't express much in grace for our lack of knowledge. We told them thank you and left for the day. I am not certain that I would return, in spite of the lovely exhibits and intriguing storyline. I'm glad that the museum exists for the story though. Good to save another piece of history.
Ramesty — Google review
We visited the Arabia Steamboat Museum today, and it was awesome! The history, artifacts, and exhibits were all fascinating—and Josh made the experience even better. Definitely worth the visit. One tip: parking on one side of the building is free, but the other side is paid. We didn’t know that and ended up paying when we didn’t have to!
Brett J — Google review
We paid $35.96 for two people in October 2025. It is a very interesting place that is at the deepest lower levels of the building. There's a big wheel that was pretty cool and you could see it rotating in the water. Though I could not locate the actual source of the energy which I'm assuming is a massive electric motor of some sort with a gearbox and it was hidden. The place is extremely dark for those with limited vision which hindered my ability to see a lot of the attractions. Electricity must be a factor in how they display things because it would be better fully lit to actually see a lot of it. Since it's a merchant ship most of the merchandise is what you would expect from a delivery vehicle or a massive container ship. The merchandise that was on said ship is quite interesting and I've had a number of those items over the years. I especially lock their lock collection. I lived in a farmhouse as a kid that had all those white ceramic locks and knobs. The fine China was really beautiful and you can find exact pieces online through eBay or other sources and the prices are pretty expensive. One basic white serving dish with lid was over $250. The price was about what you would expect from a place designed to bring in tourist and visitors. It's a bit more than other places at 16.50 per person.
Kameljoe21 — Google review
One of the most fantastic places I have been to and it's hardly advertised. Wifey and I were recommended to go here by a couple we never met at a Subway sandwich shop he said yeah there's the steamboat Museum you might find interesting. WOW! WHAT A FRIGGAN UNDERSTATEMENT!! Google the Arabian steamboat sinking for additional information but this is a site not to be missed.
PlainOlBill — Google review
A Kansas City history staple. The museum feels smaller than I remember it as a kid but I think its just me. It's a very different experience seeing it ~20 years later as an adult. Hopefully the museum finds a new home soon.

The American Jazz Museum, located in the 18th & Vine Historic Jazz District of Kansas City, is a vibrant celebration of jazz music. Visitors can immerse themselves in the history and impact of jazz through interactive exhibits, live performances, and educational programs. The museum houses an impressive collection of musical instruments, exclusive photographs, recordings, and artifacts dating back to the 1940s. Notable highlights include Julia Lee's 'Party Time' album cover from 1946.
A great place to learn about some of the greatest musicians in jazz history. You can also listen to some of the music and watch old films. I like the fact that the Blue Room is also attached to the museum and they had a live jazz group playing called Go Hard. They were really good. Before you go into the museum check out the Jazz Walk of Fame sidewalk.
Melondy W — Google review
The American Jazz Museum is a true gem in the heart of Kansas City! From the moment you walk in, you're immersed in the rich history and soul of jazz music. The exhibits are beautifully curated, featuring legends like Charlie Parker, Ella Fitzgerald, and Duke Ellington. I especially loved the interactive displays and the listening stations—such a cool way to experience the music firsthand. The museum does a fantastic job connecting the cultural roots of jazz with the vibrant present-day scene. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what they do. I also appreciated the live music at the Blue Room—an unforgettable experience! Whether you're a lifelong jazz fan or just curious about America's musical heritage, this museum is well worth your time. Highly

We were the only ones visiting on a Thursday morning right after they opened. We had to take our jazz trumpet playing son there and we were welcomed by Muriel who really spent time with us and spent some time educating my son on the Kansas City scene. In addition she encouraged making connections with various individuals associated with the museum as well as potential jazz camp and perhaps career in music. She also dispelled our understanding about the Blue Room jazz club and children may attend due to the club is a listening room and even though it serves alcohol it does not bar children from attending performances. So we were super excited we could take him, since my wife and I have been many times to see local and national jazz musicians. So glad it is one of the few UNESCO creative arts cities and Kansas City keeping jazz alive as well as its history.
KEITH D — Google review
One of the most beautiful and informative places. The neon lights, the music and we were treated to an afternoon live concert in the main atrium. Went across the street to the Gem where we saw an incredible jazz band from Mt Prospect. The Negro League museum is in the same space. Also beautifully done. Congrats! From Illinois travelers.

This is a great place to learn about the history of Kansas City jazz. If you have young children, be sure to take them with you. While much of the historic 18th Street area around it feels like it’s in decline, we hope this place will be preserved for years to come. There is also plenty of parking nearby.
JAY H — Google review
Nice museum with good history on KC jazz and the jazz era. Interactive exhibits, great video of the history of jazz, nice little gift shop too.
C L — Google review
As an avid jazz lover, I knew visiting this place in the historic jazz district when I came to town was a must do. It did not disappoint. It’s small but very informative. It has some interactive parts where you can actually hear some of the Jazz greats playing. I enjoyed every minute there. There is an attached Jazz lounge called the Blue room that had a free jazz show at 5:30 that I stuck around for. It was awesome and a great vibe.
Cynthia R — Google review
Sadly, it's taken me too long to write this review and I can't find all of my pictures, so I hope you get a little bit of the feel this place resonates. Jazz has a rich history and this museum captures it to a tee. From pictures, to instruments, to clothing of the era, to hands on listening devices that immerse you into the beginnings of a music genre that has lasted a century. This is a self walking tour so you're able to go at your own pace and take in all knowledge that your brain can handle. There's also a small gift shop. Stop in there, buy something, and help support the efforts of this wonderful experience.

Visited the zoo recently and had a fantastic experience overall. There’s honestly so much to see and do that one day isn’t enough to cover it all thoroughly. Between the various animal exhibits, walking trails, and interactive experiences, it’s easy to lose track of time. If you’re planning a visit, definitely wear comfortable shoes and be ready for a full day! A few highlights that really stood out: The train ride is a fun and relaxing way to see different parts of the zoo without having to walk the entire distance. Great for kids and a nice break for adults too! The polar bear exhibit was incredible — seeing such a majestic animal up close, especially when it's swimming, is a rare treat. The cable car ride provides an awesome aerial view of the zoo and surrounding areas. It's both scenic and practical if you're trying to get from one end of the zoo to the other. What truly stole the show, though, was the “GloWild” lighting experience. Even if you're not particularly into zoos, it’s absolutely worth visiting at least once just for the lights alone. The displays are breathtaking – creative, vibrant, and perfect for all ages. It felt like walking through a glowing, magical world, and the attention to detail was impressive. Overall, a fantastic experience. Just be sure to plan your time well — or better yet, plan for a return trip!

We had not been to the KC zoo in many years. The staff was nice and the facilities were clean. The aquarium was amazing. My favorites are the penguins and the sea lions. We went again to experience the GloWild event that happens at night. We took the grandkids and it was fun as well. So many hand painted lighted exhibits.
Larry R — Google review
Had a great time at the zoo! The aquarium and penguin exhibits are excellent! I could have spent hours watching everything. The polar bear exhibit had no animals to display. That used to be a fun thing to see. The California Sea Lions are always fun to watch. The elephants were great to see. The KC Zoo has the 2nd oldest African Elephant in North America! She was born in 1968! If you have never been there or haven't been in a few years you will be amazed at all the improvements made. Also, to the staff at the Zoo, You guys are great! Everyone was friendly and made my visit even better. Thank you!!!

Went specifically for Brew at the Zoo.. Was cool to get to check out the GloWild exhibits and small subset of animals as well. The event was cool.. Maybe a little overcrowded, for me, as lines got pretty long. More $ for the zoo though, so can't complain. Definitely was t to get back for a real zoo experience.

Beautiful places for families and friends! The zoo pays a lot of attention to details and even the small things. I really appreciate their efforts to create such a welcoming environment. The animals seem happy and are living their best lives.

I hadn’t been to the KC Zoo in almost 10 years. Since news of the new aquarium was announced, I knew that I definitely wanted to check things out. My daughter brought up the idea to visit on a Sunday afternoon and I was all in. I decided to purchase the premier family membership which includes a year of entry to the zoo for two adults and unlimited rides on the various modes of transportation in the zoo. It was a beautiful day and we had a wonderful time walking around, seeing the animals, and riding the various modes of transportation. There is a new enclosure under construction for the giraffes that will open in 2026. It’s evident that our zoo has not rested on its laurels and is in a constant state of improvement based on this visit compared to my last one. Whether you’re a resident of this area or a visitor to KC, I don’t think you will be disappointed. Put it on your list of things to do!

KC Zoo was good. Did not see many animals out on this day which was frustrating. The Aquarium was nice. The staff are friendly and the area was clean. The food is crazy expensive but they give you "free" refills if you purchase a special cup. :/ You do have the option of bringing in your own cooler. Train ride has a fee. Would not have purchased season passes if we had known what we know now. The good on that is we can visit some other zoos for free or discounted prices.

It was a misty and mildly cold morning/afternoon, and there was no shortage of friendliness. Every interaction we had was met with an amicable eagerness to educate or assist in some way. We’ve been to Omaha, San Diego, Los Angeles, Central Park, Buffalo, and St. Louis, but have never had so many individuals go out of their way to educate/interact with attendees. Every staff member (with the exception of two creepy police officers) was exceptional.

The Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art stands as a beacon of modern creativity in Missouri, showcasing an impressive collection that spans over 700 pieces from the early 20th century to contemporary works. Nestled within a striking architectural space made of concrete, steel, and glass, this museum features masterpieces by iconic artists like Jackson Pollock and Georgia O'Keeffe. Visitors can immerse themselves in both permanent collections and around ten special exhibitions annually, making it a vibrant hub for art enthusiasts.
A really enjoyable contemporary art museum with a variety of different types of installations. I enjoyed the audio/visual exhibits they had, as well as the artwork by Lucía Vidales. Her installation in the foyer is massive and there are so many layers to it. I appreciated the mini scavenger hunt they had to go along with the painting, as well as the informational page written in both Spanish and English.

A small but powerful museum filled with brilliant work from talented artists capturing life from differing perspectives that can be tragic to amusing all in a contemporary way. A must - see. Free admission, free parking in a private lot and handicapped accessible.

We went for the afternoon because we like walking around museums. This museum is small and we were able to go through in about an hour. The sculptures outside or my favorite part. Inside they appear to have rotating exhibits and at the time of our visit (September 2025) most of the exhibits weren’t something I was interested in. However, if you’d like contemporary art, I would recommend going if you’d like museums, it’s free so it wouldn’t hurt to swing by. They also have a small restaurant inside which I was told has good food. We didn’t eat there so I can’t give my own opinion.

Venue is totally amazing. We went to Oil on Linen (brilliant name). Service was a little slow. Food was too spicy for me, gave me stomach ache. Even the salad was too spicy for my delicate mouth. But it was beautifully presented. Our server did get some of our bills confused, which was a little embarrassing. But all in all a wonderful few hours.

July 2025 Returned on a summer weekday with my 12 year old cousin. She was enthralled by every canvas, film and sculpture. She was particularly impressed with the gift shop jewelry and brunch. Spring 2025. We hit a rotation cycle, so there wasn't much art to see today. No worries, the wonderful little cafe was open, so we ordered brunch with cocktails and chatted. A walk around the block afterward to get a closer look at local metal and ceramic sculptures was the perfect closing to a Sunday visit between busy friends.

When visiting Kansas City, don't miss the opportunity to explore the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, which showcases the history of segregated baseball leagues from their founding in 1920 to Jackie Robinson's groundbreaking debut with the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1947. The museum's 10,000-square-foot facility houses a rich collection of photographs, films, and artifacts that depict the significant role played by African-American baseball leagues during the 20th century.
An amazing experience with my family. I loved everything about this museum. We learned a lot of new things about the history of black men and women in baseball. Truly a wonderful experience and I will definitely visit again.
Ashley M — Google review
YES! Had a wonderful time in the museum. Lots and lots of information and artifacts from the league. You are also treated to a short documentary about how and why the league was started. The museum also gives a timeline of things going on around the world as the league was forming and prospering. The museum is for everyone and all will enjoy. If you are a music fan you can walk over to the Jazz Museum when you finish.

What an amazing experience this was to visit. I am a sports fan but prefer football and this was still awesome. We attended an event and also had jazz music playing. Everyone should take the opportunity to learn some additional history in the area.

Great film to start the museum, so please watch it. There are many exhibits to see and learn from. At the end there is a small field with bronze statues of Satchel Paige, Josh Gibson and other legends chosen to be the starting 9. A great addition to my trip on way to Kauffman Stadium to knock it off as my 29th out of 30.

I visited on October 18, and it was a 15 out of 10. This is a must visit for everyone especially Baseball fans who are visiting Kansas City, Missouri. The history, memorabilia and artifacts were overwhelming. It was an eye opening experience, when I saw how black baseball players were treated in the early 1900’s and beyond it left a horrible feeling in my stomach. Thanks again for sharing your Museum with me.

The National WWI Museum and Memorial is the only public museum in the nation dedicated to World War I. As you enter, a glass-floored bridge over a field of 9,000 red poppies sets a reverent tone, each poppy representing 1,000 military deaths. The museum houses an extensive collection of over 100,000 objects, documents, and materials from World War I.
This place was amazing! Educational and interesting we need more museums like this. Did an amazing job explaining the details that aren't taught in school with a lot of artifacts and historical records. I recommend everybody visit this place piece of History. They do an Immaculate job a cleaning volunteering and helping even the food was really good at the cafe.

Besides the marvellous architecture and beautiful scenic view you get at this monument, to me this place is filled with emotions. The place reminds me of all the beautiful souls whose courage and sacrifice helped bring peace and stability that we are enjoying today. Each picture or artefact in this museum is filled with so much history, story, and emotion that I cannot describe; you have to visit this place to experience it. Also, don't forget to cherish the beautiful Poppy flower bed at the main entrance block and try to find out what it represents. In short, this place is where you can enjoy these magnificent monuments, get one of the best views of Kansas City, take beautiful pictures, learn and experience history, and pay respect to the brave and beautiful souls.

Impressive collection of artifacts from WW1 and massive amounts of information! The volunteers were very friendly and informative. This museum is very well done. From an artistic standpoint it has a unique design with Egyptian Revival and Art Deco elements. On a clear day, there are beautiful views from the top of the tower. There is so much to see it is hard to do it in just one day.
Kelly B — Google review
What a cool museum! Would be easy to spend a couple of hours there. So much history. A couple of places you walk over glass to read what's under, or see the poppies. Twelve minute info movie runs on repeat. Free parking. Beautiful park area. Tower view amazing. Ticket was $13. That includes main museum and tower. There was a private exhibit you could add on for $6 I think. I only had time for 2 areas. Gift shop and café inside as well.

This museum was absolutely amazing! There are so many artifacts amd so much information. The exhibits immersive. We spent 3 hours there at least. Going up in the tower was amazing as well. It was only $3 more.

The National WWI Museum and Memorial is an incredible experience powerful, educational, and beautifully designed. The exhibits are immersive and tell the story of the Great War through real artifacts, videos, and personal stories. The Liberty Memorial tower offers stunning views of Kansas City, and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Plan at least 2 hours to really take it all in. A must-visit spot in KC!
Aman K — Google review
This place and the city in general is beautiful. I didn't take any of the tours because I had my dog with me. I did go inside to ask questions about the outside architecture. Basically, it was built when Egypt was all the hype. The sphinx looking toward the west is a symbol of progress and I think they said the one looking toward the east is for a reminder of the past. The tall tower are the 4 guardians looking over everyone and each resemble something like Honor, Courage, Patriotism, and Sacrifice the virtues that protected the soldiers during W.W.I. I could be wrong about some of this info so its best to go and ask questions yourself. I also asked if the guardians were influenced by Greek or Roman gods because the Sphinx to me looks more like the Greek Sphinx and the historians told me no there is no link to Greek or Roman mythology. In my opinion the guardians look like Mercury or Hermes. Messengers of the God's. I like to think they are depictions of them, forever messengers of the past to remind us of a better future. Remind us what our ancestors fought for.

Boulevard Brewing Company is a well-established local brewery in Kansas City, known for its wide range of beers including unfiltered wheat, pale ale, and pilsner. It has become the largest specialty brewer in the Midwest and distributes its beers to over 30 states across the U.S. The brewery opened a visitors center in 2016 with beer exhibits, an expanded tasting room, and retail shop.
This was a fantastic experience. We took the tour and our 2 tour guides were top notch! I’m not a beer drinker, husband likes beer, but I found that I loved Quirk, pineapple, orange whip. It was fun and relaxing!

Booked the beer tour. $17 per ticket. 5 beers come with this. Two were great, the rest were mid / wouldn’t drink them again. Tour guide was good. Fun experience, got to learn about the brewing process. Was with a friend who was a couple minutes late. They took her ticket, which you can turn in for 2 free beers, and gave her just one free beer ticket. It was very odd considering she technically paid for the 5 beers that come with the tour. Better be early or right on time… or you will just lose your money

This museum is home to one of the world's largest collections of miniature items. The collection ranges from antique dolls to colorful marbles, and includes everything from toy boats to intricately detailed miniature portraits.
I enjoyed visiting this museum from the beginning where they have a short video of how the collection was built until there was too much stuff to put it in a museum. From very tiny items like tools, animals, cars, dishes, ro mini (doll) houses very well built with all the interior elements including wall paper and carpets, to big doll houses that can be seen from 4 sides. All at perfect scale. All this just in the 1st floor. The 2nd. floor houses toys from the 60s (maybe 50s). There is a room where you teat your hand on skills to manage to place tiny things into place (won’t tell you what so you go to see yourself).
Irma A — Google review
We visited on a Tuesday. Fascinating collection of miniatures. Be sure to view the intro video to put things in context. Spent nearly 3 hours. Toy collection was grouped by era and type. Miniatures collection a lot more impressive, but toys were very good. Free parking. Very reasonable admission.
Cathy B — Google review
A family friendly place that provides something for all ages. Relive your childhood memories of playing with your favorite toys. Be awed by the craftsmanship put into creating the miniatures. Go on the second Sunday of the month for free admission. Currently hosting a Star Wars toy exhibit, taking me immediately back to being eight years old
Bradley S — Google review
Can't really say enough good things about this awesome place. The love and dedication Barbara Marshall and Mary Harris Francis had for miniatures and toys shows throughout this museum. We spent 2 hours here. A must experience place.
Ilene H — Google review
It was interesting, and in the miniature section, the most common quote said was, "How did they make it that small?" I did like the fact that they offered a magnifying to look at the miniatures with. The toy section was fun and well laid out. We stayed about 2 hours and saw it all. We didn't read all the signs but read most. We did wish the gift shop offered some toy museum branded items.
Amy N — Google review
AN ABSOLUTE BLAST from the Past! The national museum of Toys and miniatures is pure magic. I came for the visiting Star wars toy exhibit (Yes my inner Jedi was thrilled), but I stayed for the jaw dropping collection of nostalgic toys from across the decades. Everywhere I turned I found something that made me smile laugh or say I had that! The miniatures are works of art in their own right so detailed it feels like stepping into tiny worlds. And the toy exhibits are like time traveling through childhood. Whether you're into vintage board games, action figures, dolls, or sci-fi collectibles this place has it all. Highly recommend for families, collectors, and anyone who wants to reconnect with the joy of play. Honestly one of the most delightful museums I've ever visited. May the toy force be with you!

We were so impressed by this museum! They really do such a good job of displaying everything and preserving the toys. Right now, they have the original 80s star wars collection on display, which is worth the ticket in and of itself!
Caylee M — Google review
I have visited several times, and there is a LOT of items. Note: my unofficial estimate is at least 60-65% is miniatures (including a couple of cases where a display has a miniature scene INSIDE of the display stand). Depending on how you feel, you may need to make at least three trips if you want to really pay attention to everything.

Divided into themed areas such as Africa, Americana, Europe, the Orient, and Scandinavia, the park features a variety of thrilling rides and roller coasters like the renowned Prowler. Families can also enjoy live entertainment and a Snoopy-themed kids' area called Planet Snoopy.
This place was amazing! Perfect place for family fun. It was mine and my children's first time and we were completely unprepared but we had so much fun. Some things to note if you are going for the first time. Buy your ticket s in advance/ online to avoid waiting in line to get in. Pack light, for ladies leave your handbag behind and take a fanny pack instead(Something you can strap on and be hands Free on the rides without loosing your stuff during rides). You can rent a locker for your things for $23 or more depending on the size. Do your research on the fun rides and plan ahead to ensure you get to all the worlds of fun and Oceans of fun rides you would like. You will not be able to ride them all because there are just too many and there's not enough time to get to all in one day. Be prepared for long wait times on popular rides. I mean 30- 45 minute wait times on the weekends just for a 2 minute ride. The food is good but pricey. Wear comfortable shoes, there's a lot of walking required. Pack some bottled water. This place is overwhelmingly fun and worth every penny.

Worlds of Fun lives up to its name—it’s a vibrant, family-friendly amusement park with something for everyone. Whether you're chasing thrills or just looking for a relaxing day out, this place delivers. Your ticket also covers Oceans of Fun water park: Perfect for cooling off on hot summer days. The parking ticket is on a high side but you can can purchase a season ticket to avoid that. Tip: Buy tickets online in advance and arrive early to make the most of your day.

Some rides were down and I'm not sure why. It may be the time of year of the events going on. The carnival games are typical rip-offs with cheap prizes when you do win. I have several good allergies and for the most part was able to ask about allergens. I wasn't able to get information at one of the grills in Africa. The chaperone policy was "in effect" but didn't seem to be enforced. We only came across one photographer the entire time we were there from 1200-2000, but he did a fantastic job. He was quick and left us laughing. The FunPix photos weren't working when we rode the Zambizi Zinger which was unfortunate. It was a fun, quick, jerky ride that was one and done for us. One of the drink places had no ice. Still, we had fun. We spent 8 hours there, mostly taking in the Halloween decorations which is what we came for. We bought the Prestige Passes and do plan to come back in the future, hopefully to better entertainment.

It was drizzling but we still had a great time. The lines weren’t long at all. We spent most of the day there from 11am - 10 pm and did the haunted attractions also. We had the the fast past on haunted houses, thankfully because there was lines. We had a great time and road all the rides some multiple times also. First time coming here during spook fest. Good times highly recommend

We visited Worlds of Fun and Oceans of Fun last July on a Monday, and it was a great experience! The park wasn’t too crowded, so we didn’t need to purchase a Fast Pass — we were able to enjoy most of the thrilling rides without long waits. The Mamba was a definite highlight — such a wild, adrenaline-pumping ride! We also got the unlimited Coca-Cola drink deal, which was totally worth it, especially on a hot day. At Oceans of Fun, we enjoyed the lazy river, though it would’ve been even better with more available tubes. Overall, it was a super fun day and made for a great side trip from Omaha. Would definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a day of excitement and water fun!

Love worlds of fun always have a blast here but it definitely adds up fast! Thank you for being smoke and vape free that is a blessing! Food is way overpriced. Bathrooms are spaced too far apart, definitely need more! Most of the drink stations were not in working order when we visited which means the ones that were working were very busy all day long running out of everything. Lines were terrible 90 minute waites for one ride makes your time go by so fast while your just standing around. Parking cost $30! No coolers or food is allowed to come in to the park with you so that's unfortunate. Just be prepared to spend a pretty penny whenever you come to worlds of fun.
Monica A — Google review
This is a fun park with a great variety of coasters and other rides, and a water park. It's a good size so you can certainly spend all day here. The park is themed to around the world in 80 days. There's some really pretty theming in some areas, some nice shady spots. It's clean and I felt safe here. The rides are fun, the employees were nice that I encountered. Very fun
Sarah P — Google review
Weather today was perfect. For the most part the employees are nice and helpful. Our biggest issue was that my grandson really wanted dip n dots so we spent a lot of time waiting in lines to be told they didn't have but 1 flavor and would tell us to go to another location just to get there and find out that that location was closed .We found at oceans of fun they did have more then 1 flavor just to stand in line for a very very long time and when it was his turn to order was told that they started a download on card reader and was redirected to yet another stand By this time I was pretty upset that we had waited in several lines and yet again being sent somewhere else. This child was the last in line and they could not serve him because they had chosen that second to download a card reader. They could have and should have let him purchase his dip n dots . He was devastated. We spent a big part of our day standing in line to be told go stand in another line. He is a little guy and walking mostly all up hill all day is hard on his little legs ...He did finally get his dip n dots but in return he was left with 25 minutes of oceans of fun time it was closing time there ,that was upsetting. Back to worlds of fun so a lot more walking with a very tired disappointed child who is now getting cranky as well. If not for this run around we would have had a much better day...We did get some Camp Snoopy time in before the run around. For the smaller children that is the place to go..The employees there are very kid friendly. And we got 3 rides in after the run around...The only other issue is that it seems like no matter where you are going it is all uphill..

The customer service is phenomenal, from the valet parking, to the door greeter, to the person who scanned our tickets, and the person who helped us find our seat. Every staff member was absolutely amazing! The theatre is stunning with bold rich colors and is very well maintained. The bathrooms are clean and they’re located on every floor for convenience. We were able to get in and out with ease with such an amazing layout. Keep up the great work and job well done!

Whether I’m photographing wedding parties or couples, the building’s striking lines and dramatic shapes elevate every image to something special. The nearby open plazas add even more options for creative portraits. From classic elegance to contemporary flair, the Kauffman Center fits effortlessly into any wedding style while giving photos an unmistakable sense of place.

It’s an absolutely gorgeous venue with not one bad seat in the house!!! One thing to remember, no drinks or food are allowed into the auditorium. You have to consume those in the lobby.

With a view of Old Kansas City, the lobby of this performing arts center is a beautiful place to sit, drink, or saunter around before the music starts. The auditorium includes a majestic pipe organ. Paid parking is available, or find free street parking along the surrounding blocks on Sundays. (So long as you’re not nervous about leaving your car in a sketchy area of town.)

We had an exceptional experience at the Kaufman Center, witnessing our community’s children perform on stage during their anniversary celebration. The performance was both inspiring and beautifully executed. We were equally impressed by the presence and leadership of the center’s team, and it was a pleasure to personally congratulate them for organizing such a memorable and impactful event. This experience truly reflects the center’s dedication to the arts and the community.

Jacob L. Loose Park, also known as Loose Park, is a sprawling 75-acre urban park in Kansas City with a rich history and diverse outdoor attractions. Visitors can enjoy the serene lake, tennis courts, picnic areas, and a charming rose garden that serves as a picturesque venue for outdoor weddings. The park also features historic Civil War markers and a Japanese Tea Room and Garden for those seeking tranquility amidst the city's hustle and bustle.
Loose Park was the place my son's girlfriend chose to celebrate Mother's Day this year. It is such a beautiful and serene setting that you wouldn't think it was surrounded by city. There are plenty of rolling hills of grass and beautiful giant trees to shade areas for family picnics. The fountain and flowers, especially the rose garden, along with all the sidewalks around the park, make the park perfect for strolling with the family or on a special date. The kids enjoyed climbing in a couple of trees, playing catch and soccer, and seeing the big bird land at the top of a tree. I would definitely recommend a visit to this park for a wonderful time with family or friends.

Had an amazing time yesterday celebrating my 55th Birthday!! This place never disappoints. The Rose Garden is beautiful and peaceful. The spray park was fun, and seen some beautiful birds, and fish while walking around the park. Would love to go more often.

Love this park! I walk here regularly, both by myself, and with my pups. People I encounter are always nice, and courteous. The park is always clean, the walking path is in excellent condition, and this park is very peaceful. The duck pond is beautiful. 10/10 recommend.

It was a park that I stumbled on when I noticed on Google maps that was close by where I was and it's a really big beautiful park with a walkway and have plainfield's for kids to play and even kite flying in the spring also had a pond with a fountain that looks beautiful with koi fishes and turtles and has a memorial close by and had a Canon on display with about the Battle of Westport.

Very beautiful park. Comfortable walking path with an inside concrete sidewalk for a shorter path.

This is pretty much a perfect park. Absolutely gorgeous in November. Tons of water features, trees, and beautiful gardens. The homes surrounding the park are gorgeous. There’s a path that goes around the park, and then many throughout. Great place to come take a walk or chill and have a picnic.

GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium is an open-air stadium that serves as the home of the Kansas City Chiefs and also hosts major music performances. The stadium has a rich history, having seen legendary NFL players like Joe Montana, Marcus Allen, and Derrick Thomas in action. Known for its passionate fans, it holds the Guinness World Record for the loudest crowd in an outdoor pro football stadium.
Arrowhead Stadium is absolutely insane, and that’s in a very good way. The fans love their team and they are very loud. Arrowhead has to be one of the loudest stadiums in the league. The fans are also very friendly and enjoy interacting with opposing teams fans. Absolutely wonderful atmosphere and well worth the trip

Best stadium in football until they build another one. Clark Hunt is the dream NFL owner. This stadium is classic and timeless, old school and modern. The parking/driving situation is like any other venue of this size. If you come, plan on arriving early and staying late. Prices are high but each purchase contributed to the growth of this team’s brand and it is worth every penny. This is a place that will give you memories that last a lifetime. Bucket list venue for everyone.

This was an amazing experience for us. The environment was very welcoming.. The fans are loud and friendly. Very nice stadium. We left before the game was over so we are not sure how traffic is getting out of the lots. If your team is playing the chiefs we highly recommend traveling here for a game! #HTTC 🏈

I have been bringing my family, including my daughters, to games at Arrowhead Stadium for more than twenty five years. As long time season ticket holders, our lives during football season have always revolved around the Kansas City Chiefs. Some of our best family memories have been made right here, surrounded by thousands of fans who share the same love and excitement for the team. From the moment you walk into Arrowhead, you can feel the energy in the air. The sea of red, the sound of drums, and the roar of the crowd create an atmosphere that is truly electric. The fans are passionate, loyal, and welcoming to everyone. Whether it is the first game of the season or a big playoff matchup, the excitement never fades. The stadium staff are always friendly and helpful, and they keep everything running smoothly even when the crowds are huge. The food is great, and there is nothing like enjoying barbecue and cheering on the Chiefs surrounded by family and friends. Arrowhead Stadium is not just a place to watch football. It is a place where generations of fans come together to celebrate, to share traditions, and to be part of something truly special. It is an experience unlike any other.

Would like to be able to rate as 4.5. Gates open early for tailgating. For tailgating, they have port-a-potties, but NO handwashing stations, so bring sanitizing wipes. There are bins in the parking lot to collect metal/plastic/glass for recycling, and they also usually have a staff person drive around the lot before game time to collect your bagged recycling. At stadium entrance, the security staff has been pleasant. Inside the stadium, the women's restrooms are clean and have an attendant. If you need salt for food, bring your own, especially for the popcorn.

If you've ever spoken to the Hillbilly for more than 5 seconds concerning any sports, you know he is a HUGE KC Chiefs fan. And since the HB and daughter unit were gifted 2 fantastic seats for the only home preseason game, we were excited! While a preseason game isn't exactly like a regular season game, it was still awesome! TONS of staff on premises, some folks even just walking around with signs that say "Can I assist you?" How cool is that? The one negative thing I can say about Arrowhead, they know you're a captive audience and they are going to screw you to the wall on food and beverages! So be prepared to sell a kidney for anything you purchase. But for Chiefs fans, Arrowhead is sacred ground. Even if it's not for a game or you're not a Chiefs fan, a tour of the stadium is going to be worth your time.
MO H — Google review
We had a blast at the preseason game! The stadium, while it is aging, was in good condition and the atmosphere was something everyone needs to experience! The food and drink prices were typical of NFL or other professional sports venues (a bit high for my taste). They did have a lot of food and drink options which kept the lines short and manageable allowing us to quickly get back to watch the game rather than spending all of our time standing in lines. The pro shop was small and very HOT! They could do with some ventilation or A/C in there. Overall a great experience and would highly recommend.
Lynden G — Google review
What an unbelievable environment. Fan base is electric. Stadium is awesome. Food options were great. A great experience for this New Yorker. I had two tickets in two different sections. One about €20 back in the end zone and the other upper deck. Honestly the upper deck seating situation was much better than the lower end zone section. In the first quarter I sat up top. And for the rest of the game, I sat down low and looking back I would’ve preferred to sit in the upper section.

City Market is a bustling and airy market located at 5th and Main streets just north of downtown. It has been in operation since the 1850s, offering a wide variety of goods from produce, baked goods, spices, flowers, crafts to jewelry. On Saturdays, the market is at its busiest with 150 vendors selling everything from vegetables and flowers to live chickens and T-shirts.
Love love love this place. Exactly what I wanted to visit in a city that I’ve visited for the first time. There are many vendors of all different things from fresh produce to flowers to crocheted items, spices, plants and herbs, candles, incense, dog treats, the list goes on and on! The restaurants are of different cuisines from Vietnamese to Filipino to Mediterranean to Brazilian, Mexican, Italian, etc etc etc. Parking is a challenge but worth the drive into KC downtown.
Mary-Ann L — Google review
Very difficult to find parking here and when we did find a spot on the street, it was overpriced. Not sure why dogs aren't allowed in the covered market areas. There are squirrels and pigeons everywhere! We brought our small dog in an enclosed dog stroller and that wasn't an issue but it just doesn't make sense. Tons of vendors selling produce and unique items, several selling beautiful floral bouquets.
Jen U — Google review
Great place to wander around, people watch, eat from a wide variety restaurants and of course, buy fruits and vegetables. The pictures are from our visit last weekend and the weekend before. We've eaten at two of the restaurants, the first being The Hungry Hatch and the second being the Italian Deli. Both were very good! The fresh produce at the market is crazy fresh and crazy inexpensive. Don't forget to grab a bag or two of pork rinds from Norm's Gourmet Snacks. There are something like 20 or 25 different flavors and they are super fresh. Parking can be a little bit sketchy if you go at the busier times so we like to park at around 10th and Main and ride the street car in. It just adds a little adventure to our visits and it's much less stressful with the cramped streets and parking lots. I highly recommend that you check it out for its huge variety of products, produce, eateries and diverse people.

We went on a Sunday and loved the vendors in the middle, and the vast choices of food around the permiteter of the square. We were able to enjoy the artist chalk walk as well, and had lunch and hung out a while down there. Loved using the streetcar to get there as well. I recommend it! Go hungry!

City Market in Kansas City is such a gem! Whether you're looking for fresh produce or unique handmade crafts, this place delivers. The variety of produce is impressive—you can find everything from seasonal fruits and vegetables to specialty items you won't see at your typical grocery store. The quality is excellent, and there's something great about supporting local farmers and vendors while you shop. Beyond the produce, the crafts section is fantastic. There are so many talented artisans offering handmade goods, from jewelry to home decor to one-of-a-kind gifts. It's the perfect spot to find something special or just browse and appreciate the creativity on display. The atmosphere is lively and welcoming, with that classic market energy that makes shopping feel like an experience rather than a chore. City Market has become one of my favorite spots in KC, and I always leave with great finds. If you haven't been yet, definitely check it out—you won't be disappointed!

It's a popular spot for wedding photography due to its diverse collection of plants and beautiful decorations. The garden offers ponds, blooming flowers, and guided tours, making it an ideal place for a leisurely stroll or outdoor activities.
Beautiful garden for a stroll or appreciation of flora. Good for meditating or finding quiet solitude. Admission is free. The facility is overseen by a cat who appears to be lying down on the job most of the time. He seems to get saturated with attention.

Free garden near the plaza. Plenty of shaded areas and places to sit and enjoy the calm garden. Well-kept grounds and beautiful, colorful plants. Kauffman Stadium, also known as The K, is a legendary pro-baseball complex in Kansas City. Built in 1973, it offers more than just baseball games with stunning views of the City of Fountains and Midwest landscapes. Visitors can enjoy hometown refreshments from Boulevard Brewing Company and Belfontes Ice Cream, as well as AZ Canteen by celebrity chef Andrew Zimmern. The stadium is a beloved landmark where sports enthusiasts can catch exhilarating baseball games and create lasting memories.
Wanted to go here for some time. Finally got here and it didn’t disappoint. It’s beautiful! The fountains are so sweet. Definitely an under appreciated stadium. I’ve been to Busch and Wrigley, this is just as good if not better. A shout out to the workers, they were all pleasant, friendly, and welcoming. I’ve never felt so welcomed to a game. I thought prices for food were reasonable also, they have a value menu with several places throughout the stadium. All in all, we will be back! Royals won!
Joshua S — Google review
I’m on a mission to visit every MLB stadium, and Kauffman was number 12 for me. For being 50+ years old, I was pleasantly surprised by how nice this ballpark is! We went with my son’s baseball team and a group of about 40 people on an extremely hot day (94° at first pitch), but it was still a fantastic experience. Every seat in the stadium is angled perfectly toward the field since it was built specifically for baseball—not a converted football stadium. The famous outfield fountains are truly impressive and something everyone should see in person. The family environment here is outstanding. The Little K area has batting cages, pitching radars, 40-yard dash timers, mini golf, and even a carousel. There’s also a kids’ team store and a concession stand with a fun kids’ meal in a collectible lunch box—perfect for keeping little ones entertained during the game. I also loved the many first-come, first-serve areas to watch from. On a lighter crowd day (around 15,000 fans when we went), it was easy to move around and enjoy different vantage points. Food options were excellent too, with everything from local BBQ to classic ballpark must-haves. Overall, I’d rank Kauffman as one of the top stadiums I’ve visited so far. It’s family-friendly, full of character, and much nicer than I expected given its age. Definitely worth the trip!

Very nice stadium! We are making our way through all 30 MLB Stadiums, and this one has a lot to offer compared to others. Reasonable prices, lots of space to move around and sit and enjoy drinks and/or food, and the fountains make it really unique. The staff were all very friendly as well.

We are trying to visit every MLB stadium. Thisnis our 5th stadium and we were very happy with it. 1st everyone and I mean EVERYONE was the most friendliest people I have met. We saw 2 games here. The 1st was in thr Lexas all you can eat seats and had thr best hot dogs in a park yet. The popcorn was great and buttery. The food options were great. The only negative is the seats are quite tight. Im only 5'9 and my knees were in the seat in front of me. The second game we got upper deck seats and we ate off the value menu. The hot dogs and pretzels were descent price. The stadium is beautiful and both views were great. The fountains are very pretty. If we are ever out that way again we already said we will be stopping by for another game. Oh and bonus was fireworks we didnt even know were happening after the game.
Heather C — Google review
What a beautiful stadium with amazing views! Walking from the parking lot to the entrance, we saw many people tailgating which I didn't expect with baseball games. We had checked the bag policy ahead of time so we were prepared but there was a woman in front of us whose purse was too large for entry. She tried to argue that she was just at Busch Stadium (STL) the night before, but they were firm with their bag policy. We tried the loaded nachos, which were amazing and huge so two of us shared an order. The staff were incredible with our group since we arrived early and needed some guidance to orient ourselves. I love the fountains in the stadium and how they manipulate both the flow and the colors of the water. Great space for a baseball game!
Brianne S — Google review
There's absolutely NO reason to replace this wonderful baseball stadium. The sightlines are good, there are very few seats where your view is obstructed, and the Event Staff is second to none! Park early and tailgate, then bring in any food items in a clear bag, along with sealed water bottles. Guest Services team is especially accommodating. Go Royals!
Jim B — Google review
Home run derby was cool, tix were only like $25 and it was a different vibe of course and the stadium didn't sell a ton of tix, just select seats and it was a fun atmosphere. Fireworks afterward so it was a fun evening. Not all the vendors were open but it was enough to handle the crowd.
Anita S — Google review
This place is pretty much our second home in the summertime. It is what kept our sanity as new parents. We absolutely love Kauffman because of how family friendly it is (park, rides, mini golf, splash pad, mother's room) and there's even a very affordable concession in the kids area that has chicken nuggets and $5 beers. We purchase the cheap nose bleed seats up top and just walk around the stadium with our stroller and the kids. There are so many places available to view the game.

SEA LIFE Kansas City Aquarium is a captivating destination that showcases over 5,000 sea creatures in various ocean habitats. Located at the Crown Center in downtown Kansas City, this family-friendly attraction offers interactive experiences such as the TouchPool where visitors can interact with marine life like crabs and starfish. The aquarium also features an impressive underwater tunnel providing a 360-degree view of marine ecosystems. Educational presentations and a kids quiz trail add to the engaging experience for all ages.
Our visit to the Sea Life aquarium at Crown Center was an unforgettable dive into wonder and discovery. From the moment we stepped inside, we were immersed in a world that felt both tranquil and thrilling—like walking through a living, breathing underwater storybook. Each exhibit was thoughtfully designed to engage both kids and adults alike. Watching sharks and rays glide overhead in the Ocean Tunnel was absolutely mesmerizing, and the vibrant coral reef displays had our whole family pausing to soak in the colors and movement. The interactive touch pools were a huge hit—there's nothing quite like seeing your child's face light up as they gently feel a starfish or horseshoe crab for the first time. What we especially appreciated was how educational the experience was, without ever feeling like a classroom. The staff were warm, knowledgeable, and ready with answers that brought the ocean to life. Even for us grown-ups, there were plenty of surprising facts and captivating stories tucked into each corner. Whether you're local or just visiting, the Kansas City Sea Life offers a perfect blend of hands-on exploration, awe-inspiring sights, and meaningful family connection. It left us not only entertained but inspired—and already dreaming about our next underwater adventure.

Went to Sea Life aquarium today with my daughter and grandson today. He was excited to see all the fish and walk thru the exhibit. They had a touch pool for him to reach in and touch some of the animals. He enjoyed that part. There were touch screens for him to clear the beach. All in all, it was a good day.

Great little aquarium with Lego World attached. There were turtles, stingrays, sharks and many others. We had a blast walking through being kids and taking in all the sea life. Would have liked it to be a little bigger with more to see, but was well worth the visit anyway. Staff was helpful and friendly.

First time going to sealife, it eas an awesome experience. Loved all of it. Great place to take your children and learn about different sea life out there. My favorite was the sea dragons, as the way they look and swim was very 3d or unreal to me. For a family of 4 with 2 of the $5.00 add event for children to do throughout the visit for a prize at the end it cost $100 with taxes, and got free parking for 5 hours with ticket validation over $50 spent. We'll worth it. Also at the end they have virtual reality that you can do that cost $7.00 and you can choose to dive with dolphins, sharks and couple more. Also can take a photo at the very beginning that you can choose different background but cost $30.00 if you decide to purchase.
Eric C — Google review
It was a great experience! They had more than I expected, but lacked certain key attractions. There were no cephalopods (octopus, squid, cuttlefish), no crabs or lobsters or shellfish, and only a few sharks. No mammals, either. Not even seals. They did have sea turtles, though, which was awesome. Including the Kemp's Ridley sea turtle, which is the rarest. They had a ton of stingrays and manta rays, which we fed for an extra charge. Unfortunately, they don't let you touch them, which is sad because they are so intelligent and affectionate. We were only allowed to touch some sea urchins, which was honestly a bit underwhelming. Overall, it was worthwhile for a single visit.
Paul R — Google review
Was not as exciting for how big the building is. It was nice and there are a lot of cool sea animals to look at. Did not like that they were cashless because we had cash on us for the trip

My daughter & I enjoyed this place thoroughly, we spent an hour & a half here reading & truly looking at the creatures. There’s a quite a few interactive displays, lots of different sea creatures. If you rush, the money won’t feel worth it. I still found it rather pricey, but you can’t place a price on memories.

We had a great visit to the aquarium today. The behind the scenes tour is worth the extra money. The Money Museum is a federal bank building with tours that houses a huge cash vault, historic coins and bills, and an interpretative display on monetary policy. The museum is kid-friendly and offers self-guided tours or audio/ iPad guided tours.
If you're curious about U.S. currency or just appreciate well-done museums, the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City’s Money Museum is a hidden gem. The Truman coin set exhibit is truly stunning; a perfect showcase of U.S. minting craftsmanship and presidential history. The vault room is an absolute standout. Getting to step watch them count and stack notes and to see pallets of millions of dollars is unforgettable. Every exhibit is educational and thoughtfully designed, from how money is printed to its role in the economy. There are interactive displays and knowledgeable staff who make learning fun. Best of all? Admission is free. I walked away with a deeper understanding of currency and even a fun souvenir. Highly recommend for families, students, or anyone with a curious mind!

They had a room with a video about the federal reserve that was quite dry. Wish they had maybe 2 or 3 with varying topics still related instead of one on a loop with someone named 'penny' wow they try a little too hard to be cutesy. The staff who spoke to me upon arrival were brief without emotion. The mentions of mostly geared towards children is correct, however has 2-3 hours of material for adults to read as well if interested. I have always found banks and the fed interesting and after almost 2 hours had to leave due to it being so dry and the staff unfriendly at a museum? One lady after you enter was behind a counter on a zoom call talking about a logo and would not answer any of our questions...she was too important working at the front desk of money museum at federal reserve bank...one other staff member was giving her family a private tour was kind enough to answer a few questions. Wasn't kind enough to allow me to join their more informational tour..bag of shredded money and comic books for kids are great. clean museum expect 1.5-2 hours to check it all out. Monday here was uneventful for vault viewing. Free entrance was nice about 15-20 min walk from street car

Free museum with free cut up bills at the end. Learn about currency through the years. Lift a very heavy gold bar. Fiat money government-issued currency that is not backed by a physical commodity, such as gold or silver. Its value is derived from the trust and confidence that people place in the government issuing it. The term "fiat" comes from Latin, meaning "let it be done," reflecting the fact that its value is based on a government decree.

The money museum in Kansas City showcases the federal reserve bank and offers free exhibits including the Harry S Truman coin collection. We spent about an hour here and the kids loved it. They were impressed with the workers packing money to be delivered to banks/stores and watching them send it off by the pallet. If you’re in KC this is worth the stop!

What a hidden gem! My kids were skeptical about it but they found so much to look at and learn about, it was fun to see. It's smaller but well laid out and encourages interaction. Bright and colorful displays mixed with hands on pieces were a nice surprise. We took a pop up tour on a Friday morning and that was fantastic! Our guides had desk jobs at the Federal Reserve and this was a new thing for them and they knocked it out the park. They had a unique perspective because they had different jobs and were so fun and informative. We all learned so much and talked about it all thru lunch. We did the 45 minute tour and stayed for almost another hour. 100 percent try to do a tour if you can! Definitely worth going thru if you have time!

Anyone over age 18 will need a valid photo ID to enter. There are several interactive pieces of the museum that kept the kids busy. The bag of shredded money we picked up at the end was a hit with the kids as well.

While waiting for the WW1 museum to open we toured the money museum. Spent over an hour looking at the exhibits and learning about the federal reserve in KC. No fee to enter. Did have to go through security to enter. Worth the time to visit if you are in the area.

This was an interesting free museum! I liked that the information was presented in a way that catered to both adults and children. I didn't feel like I was at a children's museum, but my 13 year old didn't feel like everything was too in depth to grasp.

LEGOLAND Discovery Center Kansas City is a family-friendly entertainment hub located in the Crown Center of downtown Kansas City. The center offers an array of attractions, including LEGO toy displays, interactive rides, and a 4-D theater. Visitors can also explore how LEGOs are made and enjoy various themed areas such as Mini Land and Heartlake City. Additionally, the center provides educational opportunities for kids to enhance their skills in math and science while having fun with LEGOs.
This was a great experience! There were lot's of giant Lego creations to view that were amazingly detailed such as Arrowhead stadium, Boulevard Brewing and the Western Auto sign reflecting many K.C. greats. There were also various interactive displays where visitors could build their own Lego pizza, make a race car to zoom down a ramp or build a bumblebee. There was a " Lego cinema" area where visitors could view short ( 15 minute) Lego movies and also a " Wizard of Oz tornado machine"( available for $3) It was interesting for myself ( age 61) as well as 2 grandkids ages 1 and 5. Purchase tickets online & in advance for a discount & also available for $7 purchase a Robot lanyard where you can search for displays to receive stamps and also get your own Lego mini figure.

A whole floor full of Lego characters and educational games. A little bit expensive I would say … for just one floor for just one day… however we were free to go out to have lunch and allowed back in. It’s better if you book the tickets online in advance and visit on a weekday.

Kids loved it. Was surprised that they had 3 rides in side. Was really crowded when we first arrived but did thin out so they could enjoy it more with out bumping g into other constantly. Will return Was really cool with alot of hands on activities. The displays was awesome aswell.

Pretty expensive and then you have to pay additional $7 for the virtual game they have inside!!! That doesn't even come with the VIP or std ticket admission I was disappointed they didn't have ideas at each station. We paid for the everything package and was super disappointed We didn't get more for the VIP experience It was 120+ dollars for 2 adults and 1 four old... I think if there were more ideas at each station that would have been helpful to keep littles engaged Some staff were helpful others didn't seem to know much it was strange

The Discovery Center is located within a building complex. If you follow GPS it will put you near the entrance to the parking garage. Parking is by a ticket given as you pull in, and a validation ticket is given at the entrance to the Discovery Center for 3hrs of parking. HOLD ON TO BOTH. You will need both when you leave. Scan the parking ticket first, then the validation ticket for the discount. Regarding the inside, the Discovery Center was clean, and well staffed. Every employee seemed in a good mood and happy to help. We came here as an alternative to the St Louis zoo (because of the tornado damage) for my 17yr old who loves Legos. I really wish there was any type of disclaimer/disclosure for ages. This Discovery Center is very much for younger kids, maybe early teens. It was much smaller than expected, but we still had fun.

We came here for my son’s 4th birthday today and had the best time and experience we’ve ever had at this Lego land. The workers were the sweetest to him. There was an older female employee that I did not catch her name but took her time to help him make a car and pumpkin. She made sure that he had a birthday crown and buttons once she found out that it was his birthday. You could tell that she loves her job there and working with kids. She made his experience there extra special today! We stayed for almost 4 hours and my son never ran out of things to do, he is obsessed with legos and building with them.

Lego land was cool. I took a star because this location is for small children. I been to others that had a lot more to do and more things to see. It was still fun. I would recommend for families with children under 10. We made the most of it and still had a good time.

Has lots of things for kids and adults to do. Some things were out of order. But overall they had fun. There's a concession stand/Starbucks coffee that closes everyday, so if you're trying to eat before 2 it might be closed.

The Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead in Overland Park is a delightful family destination with a range of attractions. Visitors can explore nature trails, interact with farm animals, and admire butterfly gardens and birds of prey. The farmstead also features show gardens, a Kanza Native American display, and a one-room schoolhouse.
We absolutely loved our visit to Deanna Rose Farmstead! The entire place is beautifully maintained — the grounds are clean and inviting, and the animals are clearly very well cared for. It’s such a perfect summer outing for families, especially with young children. There are so many interactive experiences that make learning fun. Our kids had a blast feeding the adorable goats and exploring all the different animal areas. It’s also an amazing opportunity for them to learn about farm life in the early 1900s, with hands-on exhibits that bring history to life in such an engaging way. Every staff member we met was incredibly warm and welcoming — you could tell they genuinely enjoy being there. It’s rare to encounter such consistent friendliness, and it made the experience even more special. The gardens throughout the farmstead are absolutely beautiful, and the enchanted forest area felt like stepping into a storybook. There’s just so much to see and do — we could have spent all day there. Highly recommend for a fun, educational, and heartwarming family day out!
Joanyun P — Google review
Deanna Rose Homestead was the most amazing evening! The pricing was very reasonable, and everything was so well cared for. The grass, the animal areas, and even the tractors scattered throughout made it feel authentic and fun. The 18th-century recreated village added so much personality and charm to the experience. Truly a wonderful place to visit and worth every bit of 5 stars.
James H — Google review
I usually write long reviews, but I’m going to try to keep this one short and let the photos speak for me. This place is amazing. It is magical. I could easily spend the entirety of my day here, every day. There is so much to see and to do. There are flowers and plants everywhere. There are something like fifty baby goats, maybe more?! So cute! And there are a ton of other animals, including a bald eagle, bison, prairie dogs, and a bobcat. You can mine for gemstones, you can watch the blacksmith work, visit the general store, go fishing, bottle-feed baby goats, attend live cow milkings, go on a horse-drawn carriage ride, visit an old schoolhouse, go on a hike in the woods, visit the herb and vegetable garden, bring a picnic, and more. (Some of the attractions carry additional costs.) We went during their free admission hours (Mon-Th after 2pm as of this review). It was really busy, but everything is so spread out that it didn’t really feel congested. We loved it. We spent two hours there and didn’t want to leave, but we had to go. Definitely add this to your MUST VISIT list whether you live in the KC Metro area or are just passing through.

Much more than a petting farm. Honestly better than some zoos I've been to. 5 bucks per person for 12 acres of well taken care of gardens and animals of all sorts, as well as a recreation of barns and 1900s buildings. Fun for all ages, even if you just want a nice place to sit and relax. Come visit and teach/learn a bit about nature and history, you won't regret it!
Crandria 2 — Google review
HIGHLY RECOMMEND. A cozy venue for family entertainment. We thoroughly enjoyed our recent visit for the fall season and all of the attractions the farmstead had to offer. So many activities for young children that were both educational and fun. We loved the little Downtown area with all the whimsical shops to explore, as well as the miniature log cabin by the playground. Perfect for meeting up with some friends and walking around for a few hours. Our toddler had a blast and the walking paths were easy to navigate with our stroller and newborn.

My grandsons (7 & 8) and I visited a couple of weeks ago. They enjoyed looking at the animals and birds and LOVED the mining and fishing. They also said eating ice cream, drinking Bublee and talking while sitting on the benches outside of the ice cream parlor was a favorite part of their visit. The grounds are well kept and the farm is a great size for spending a couple of hours in.

This was my first time at Deanna Rose Farm! I have always heard about it since I was a kid and wanted to go here. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. They had many things to do it may not look like it at first, but you have to walk around more to see. The baby goats were friendly and easy to handle. The school house and other 1800’s structures reminded me of “Little House on the Prarie”and made me feel like I was back in time. Each staff member was very knowledgeable of everything. They had fishing, feeding baby goats, playgrounds, various animals. We got super lucky upon arriving and didn’t even have to pay to get in. Feeding baby goats cost $1 with bottles. Fishing cost $3.00. Bring coins if you want to feed any goat.

The Kansas City Public Library: Central Library has a rich history dating back to 1873 when it was established as the Public School Library of Kansas City. It quickly became a cultural hub, offering not only educational resources but also serving as an alternative entertainment option in downtown. The library's unique facade, designed to resemble giant bookends, makes for a perfect selfie spot. Visitors can explore a wide range of titles catering to all age groups and enjoy the airy patio with a cup of coffee.
Beautiful library filled with stunning art and sculptures throughout. It’s a fantastic place to study, and the staff was incredibly attentive and friendly. I even received a library card as a visitor, which was perfect because it allowed me to work comfortably on the 5th floor. The only downside I noticed was the presence of many homeless individuals, though I understand they are just in need of a warm place, and I respect that. Overall, I highly recommend this library for anyone looking for a serene study environment!

My daughter and I were in town for something else and had a few hours to spare so we walked over to the library. It's very nice and welcoming and felt very safe. There is a display up some stairs called "The Road Home" that highlights/honors the stories of some homeless people which is beautiful. Downstairs there are movies and a little theater.

This is a 5 floor library with basement. Pretty good book selection. The 5th floor has a terrace and an old school reading room that looks like an executives office. Parking is free for one hour in the adjacent garage with validation. They have a small art gallery and a coffee and pastry shop.

The most beautiful library I’ve ever seen (haven’t been to D.C. yet). Beautiful inside and wonderful art and photographs as well as great historical exhibits. The rooftop terrace is wonderful and provides beautiful views of the city. Unfortunately there are people who are struggling on the third and first floor, with signs of drug use and lots of people sleeping. They do not disturb you and I’m happy they have a place to stay cool and comfortable, but it does impact the library experience as most places to sit are used up for sleeping.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I can’t say enough about the amazing staff at the Kansas City Public Library, especially James and Sawyer. I recently found myself in a very desperate situation after my vehicle tag was stolen. To prevent further issues, I was creating a temporary tag with my police case number and department information to stop people from reporting my vehicle for not displaying a tag. When I visited the library, I explained my predicament to Sawyer on the third floor. She immediately understood the urgency of my situation and provided me with book repair tape—exactly what I needed to laminate my homemade license plate. Sawyer was professional, resourceful, and compassionate, even as she juggled assisting other patrons. I’ve also had the pleasure of interacting with James, whose professionalism and respectfulness consistently stand out. It’s clear that both James and Sawyer are skilled at managing diverse personalities with grace and emotional intelligence, which is something I truly appreciate as someone with a background in psychology and sociology. The library staff truly went above and beyond to help me in a stressful time, and I’m incredibly grateful for their support. I highly recommend this library for their exceptional service and caring staff!

I love working at libraries when I travel. The KC downtown library has a lot of spaces to work but can be quite noisy in the mornings. Staff was great and I would have missed the art exhibit had a staff member not pointed it out. There is a lot of great architecture and art to see. The book selection is also amazing!

This library is Massive with lots of places to sit and read. We stopped in for the midday meditation and it was honestly incredible. Everyone was extremely friendly and the experience was incredible. The view from the balcony was very nice. There were lots of historic and art culture things spread throughout. This place is almost halfway a museum

I came here today to use a computer. I go upstairs to the 3rd floor computer area and ask "Katie" if I can use a computer. She sees they are all being used so she tells me this and I ask to reserve one, put in wait, and she starts fumbling with the computer because she's trying to figure out how to do the procedure. As I'm waiting I see she's fumbling with her nose like she needs a tissue. So being raised the correct way I offered her a tissue. She looks at me and says I'm going to have to ask you to leave this area and use the computers on the first floor. I say because I offered you a tissue and she says yes because I feel you were trying to make fun of me. I ask are you serious and before she could reply I turn and just walked away. I know that look and the protocol with the staff here. Any of them feel offended or just feel like being an "A" hole the create a situation and then ask you to leave and if you don't they call the Police and have a trespass violation entered against you. I ask to speak to a manager and "Katie" says in a rude manner you can see a manager on the first floor. The managers speak to you in a condescending manner and don't do anything to correct the staff's ill behavior. I wrote a email to the director of this location, Theresa Bolton, over a month ago because of one of the managers threatening to call the police after my civil rights were violated, first amendment, and got completely ignored. So much for diplomacy right. I've been sexually assaulted twice at this location and both times brought it to the attention of the staff here, did anything happen after reporting the incidents, of course some action was taken yes and as soon as I get the return email from the director here I'll share it.

Nestled within the historic Union Station in Kansas City, Science City at Union Station is a vibrant and engaging science center perfect for families. This interactive museum boasts over 120 hands-on exhibits designed to spark curiosity and foster learning among visitors of all ages. Highlights include the DinoLab, where young paleontologists can dig for fossils, and the immersive Arvin Gottlieb Planetarium that takes you on cosmic journeys.
Science City is always a hit with my grandchildren and out of town guests. Maybe adding sone exhibits for kids 12-14 would increase interest. I brought two German families in the last two years and they said it was the highlight of their visit.

Nice STEM based activities for the kids. They had lessons in electricity, magnetism, and physics. Give yourself 3 hours minimum to hit all the exhibits. The outdoor play area is open if there no lightning and no heat index at 105 or more. Checkout the cool water area with cascading buckets and flow control dams that the kids can change. Bring snacks as there are limited places to eat even in union station. One room for improvement: more than a few exhibits were partially out of order. Same with the men’s bathroom. Parking is paid if you are driving and it’s in a parking garage.
Don S — Google review
This is such a fun place for kids of all ages! The new train section was a hit for my toddler. Such a great addition! My 6 yr old loved the indoor climbing structure and the dinosaur area and my 9 year old loved all of the stem activities. We were there for about 4 hours but I think we definitely could have spent more time there. Weekday afternoons are less busy!
Brittany D — Google review
Upon approaching the hallowed halls of Science City, I was immediately struck by the palpable hum of universal energy vibrating through the very atoms of Kansas City itself. The edifice rises not merely as a museum, but as a cathedral of curiosity, a sanctum where the whispers of quantum particles and the sighs of electrons are nearly audible to the attuned visitor. I traversed the labyrinthine exhibits, each meticulously curated, where every interactive installation felt like a secret ritual designed to awaken latent neural pathways and realign one’s chakras with the cosmic order. I was particularly captivated by the kinetic sculptures, which, like tiny oracles of motion, whispered truths about the universe that mere mortals rarely perceive. Time itself seemed to dilate, each second a crystallized gem of wonder and revelation. Crossing the portal to Union Station was akin to stepping into a temporal nexus where history, architecture, and the soul of the city intertwine. The grand concourse, bathed in the reverent light of its monumental windows, felt like the backstage of the cosmos, where every marble floor tile hums the songs of a thousand trains that once traversed the veins of America. The ceiling murals, painted with the sweat and dreams of artistic alchemists, narrated epic sagas of human ambition, steam engines, and interstellar imaginings, demanding silent contemplation. Even the ticket counters seemed imbued with latent wisdom, as though the clerks were gatekeepers to portals of both time and imagination. I dined, spiritually, at the food court, where pretzel nuggets took on the aura of golden relics, each bite a meditation on dough and salt, and the aroma of roasted coffee beans acted as an invisible incense, binding my consciousness to the hallowed architecture surrounding me. Every corridor, every exhibit, every fleeting echo of children’s laughter vibrated with metaphysical significance. Walking out, I did not merely leave a building, I ascended, if only metaphorically, to a higher plane where Science City and Union Station are not places, but living, breathing synapses in the brain of the universe itself. To anyone seeking not mere entertainment, but a pilgrimage, a communion with knowledge and beauty that transcends the mundane, I say: prepare your soul, fasten your metaphysical seatbelt, and surrender yourself to the ineffable wonder that is Kansas City’s dual shrine of Science City and Union Station. You will not leave unchanged; your neurons will hum, your heart will swell, and your existential coordinates will be forever recalibrated.

My kids had a ball there. One of the best experiences they've had yet. We didn't get to do everything because it was so much for them to do. Definitely a place I would visit with them again if I come back to Kansas.
Ivory J — Google review
Let me start with a gripe: I take a VERY big issue with their ticket prices. They're advertised as $17/ea so it's deceptive, dishonest, and outright LYING when you get there and they have a sign at the ticket counter "A 10% fee is added to all tickets to help fund blahblahblah". Okay, then the tickets are $18.70 and **not** $17.00. Yes, it's only 10% and yes, I'm sure it must be for a very good cause, but that doesn't excuse the deceit. That said, Science City was *very* fun and had lots of informative displays and exhibits as well as things for the whole family to enjoy. We spent over 4 hours there and only left because we eventually got tired of walking around. And I scored 0.033 seconds on the reflex test.

I can never say enough good things about this place. The memories I've made with my son in this building are those I'll never ever forget. I love that they rotate new exhibits in often, so every time we go there's something different to see. The place is affordable, clean and neverending. Every time we go, there's something we didn't see or notice the last time. This time we visited, it was the reptile and fish room. They fed a snake while we were there.

The Hallmark Visitors Center, located in the Crown Center Complex, offers free tours and exhibits that delve into the rich history and contemporary operations of the renowned greeting card company. The center showcases 14 interactive exhibits that narrate Hallmark's 100-year journey, featuring demonstrations of the card-making process and iconic TV commercials. It is an ideal destination for individuals interested in learning about the evolution of greeting card trends and exploring their own creativity through various sessions offered at the center.
Hallmark was an integral part of my growing up and adulthood - from greeting cards to Keepsake ornaments (I get one a year for my kids), to yes, even the Hallmark Channel. So I was excited to learn Hallmark headquarters were right there and this visitors center was open. I was in heaven. And it is free. I learned so much - about the family, the artists, the employment, the partnerships (like with Peanuts), the ornaments and the TV channel. I didn’t spend as much time there as I could have but it was awesome. And alas, I did not find a single man who owns a Christmas tree farm looking for a single mother who wants to own a bookstore.

We walked here from a nearby restaurant and were immediately greeted upon arrival. We stopped in on a Saturday afternoon and it was not busy at all. The tour is self-guided, you can make your own bows, and there is a small gift shop in the lobby. I didn't get to spend as much time here as I wanted since I was with a group, so I will try to stop back in the next time I am in KC.

We got to visit the Hallmark Visitor’s Center recently! I loved it! There’s a great Children’s Center next door. So fun! I enjoyed learning the history of Hallmark. Walking through the visual representations of the progression of Hallmark. It’s very different today of course. Beginning as the Vision of 2 brothers & growing into what the offerings are today. Loved getting to do this. Go yourself when you can. Thank you!!

MY trip to Kansas started slow...until we found this place. Everyone love hallmark cards, but do you know the history behind the cards? From a fantastic video that starts at the beginning of a young JC Hall to the marvel that became "Hallmark". A MUST SEE for any visitor. oh yeah, and it is FREE!!
Thomas C — Google review
As a long time, Hallmark fan I thought it would be really nice to visit the Hallmark visitor center while I was in town for business. I was greeted at the front desk very cheerfully and pointed into the direction of a 14 minute movie which gave the history of Hallmark and how Jc Hall started it. After the short movie there’s a self guided tour that takes you through the history of the greeting cards, ornaments artists and collaborations with Disney and Charles Schultz along with other big business if you have children, which I don’t, I would suggest going to the kaleidoscope right next-door for the children’s center. It looks like there’s some great activities There parking was in the parking garage, which they validated the parking. The only negative I would say is the signage for the stores, etc. aren’t there so I didn’t know where to go after I did my tour so I just left but I do understand that there’s a lot of other things that you can do there. I was not disappointed by any means.

If you're a basketball enthusiast, The College Basketball Experience is an absolute must-visit! Nestled next to the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, this expansive 41,500 square-foot facility offers a thrilling dive into the world of college basketball. Here, you can pay tribute to legendary players and coaches at the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame while exploring interactive exhibits that celebrate the sport's rich history.
My wife and daughter were going to sit this one out and let my son and I go in. I convinced them to join us, and they were so glad they did! We ALL had a great time! They have so many interactive activities, from shooting 3's to dunking to passing drills. We ran a whole game on the courts they have inside, and the actual museum part is super cool too! My kids got to anchor an ESPN highlight reel too! This was one of the best things we did in KC, I highly recommend it!

One part museum, one part carnival basketball experience, one part legit hoop gym. Come with your shoes laced up and ready to put up some shots. Brought my 9 year old son, and we both left drenched in sweat after playing several games. I was expecting a lot more museum experience, but it’s very interactive! No complaints here! We both had a great time learning and playing.

The College Basketball Experience is a cool tourist attraction, especially if you’re traveling with teenage boys. We visited the Kansas City area recently and decided to check it out. It’s an interactive museum where the young and mature can play and explore college basketball. The facility was clean and not crowded on a Friday (4th of July) afternoon. We did not pre-purchase tickets but had no issues at the door. They offer a senior and military discount and the venue can be rented for events, birthday parties and there is a gift shop onsite.

This was such a fun spot for anyone who loves basketball. There are courts where you can actually play, games to practice your shot, and some interesting info about the sport and its players. It was a cool mix of hands-on stuff and things to learn. Definitely worth checking out if you're into basketball.
Amy W — Google review
Exceeded expectations. A last-minute addition to our downtown itinerary, the College Basketball Experience was a hit. It's less a museum, more an "Experience," featuring tons of interactive fun like shooting, passing, and broadcasting stations. The courts are excellent, especially the main one. We also appreciated the well-done history exhibits. Adults and teen loved it. Having visited the Basketball Hall of Fame in Massachusetts previously, we all agreed the KC College Basketball Experience was more fun. Definitely recommend.

Had a good time at the college basketball experience! The Airline History Museum, located at the Charles B. Wheeler Downtown Airport in Kansas City, was established in 1986 by aviation enthusiasts Dick McMahon and Larry A. Brown. Originally known as the Save A Connie Foundation, it has since grown to become a significant repository of aviation history.
Excellent! What a treasure trive of history! The guide was very knowledgeable and his love of the airline and history was evident.

We drove here out of town and they where so kind to me and my group of friends. We got to get up love and personal with the aircraft and had some very amazing conversations with the tour guide. As a pilot my self it was a fantastic oppertunity to see where we have come from in aviation and it really gave me a detailed idea of where we will be going in the future. All puns intended it is only up from here! They had multiple diffewnt aircraft on display some you could actually walk through while some where just for looking at. They are actively trying to restore all of these aircraft to flying standards again so they can be enjoyed outside of the hangar as well as inside! Very well done museum everyone! I was extremly pleased and I can't wait for more opportunities to enjoy this place.
Morghan — Google review
Finally got a chance to check this museum out. It is so much more than what I thought it was going to be! The history that just exudes from the entire hangar, let alone the wonderful aircraft they have... This place is absolutely unappreciated and should not be missed. Our guide was very friendly, knowledgeable and was just the right amount of tell you about things and let you check it out yourself. Support this museum, these are the kinds of places that are few and far between these days.

The good: Cool collection of aviation history. Seeing how airlines performed in the past is eye opening and nothing like it is today. This collection is worth seeing, it’s worth the time and money. The gentleman working in the office is kind and knowledgeable of all the items they have. If you’re an aviation nut like me this is a must while in KC. The bad: Visited during second week of August 2020 and the hanger was a little warm. Few hands on exhibits closed due to Covid 😔
Hector G — Google review
There are not many signs to tell you about the planes display. There are two planes that you can go inside. Since they are trying to restore them, they ask for a donation to go through them. There was a gentleman who spoke with us and he was friendly and knowledgeable. Overall, this was a small museum that was neat to visit.
Ashley L — Google review
Good museum for learning about passenger aviation in the 1940s-1960s era. It was really interesting to walk aboard the two planes and compare them to the air-travel experience of today. I also enjoyed the gallery with the old uniforms, photos, and other artifacts. The tour guide was very knowledgeable but focused perhaps a bit too heavily on technical details. The admission is supposed to be $8 for adults but we were charged $10 each.
Glenn R — Google review
Jack Koder was a fantastic guide. We had a great time seeing the planes and learning about the history of them and the airlines they flew for from him.

Nature & Parks
Kaw Point Park, located at the meeting point of the Kansas and Missouri rivers, offers a serene natural setting with stunning skyline views. This 10-acre park is steeped in history, serving as a significant stop for the Lewis and Clark Expedition in 1804. Visitors can explore the Lewis and Clark Heritage Trail and an open-air education pavilion featuring interpretive signs about the expedition. The park also boasts an outdoor amphitheater for cultural events and performances.
Awesome and historical place to see Kansas City in all its glory. A hidden gem of a park just outside of downtown. It’s worth the quick detour to take in the awesome site. There were plenty of families and fishermen utilizing what the park has to offer. Parking was plentiful.
Kevin B — Google review
Nice riverside park with outstanding views of the river confluence and downtown Kansas City, especially at dusk. There are some informational panels that highlight Lewis and Clark's three-day stop at this slot during their expedition in 1804. Other reviews mention a homeless population but I didn't see any during my visit. There was a bit of a smell from the rivers though.
Christopher R — Google review
Kaw Point Park is a hidden gem along the riverfront, offering some of the most striking views of the confluence of the Kansas and Missouri Rivers and the downtown Kansas City skyline. The park’s natural beauty is especially captivating. Beyond the scenery, Kaw Point Park is steeped in history. Informational panels throughout the area tell the story of Lewis and Clark’s three-day encampment here in 1804, marking an important stop on their legendary expedition. Visitors can walk the interpretive trails, explore the native plant gardens, and imagine what the explorers might have seen as they surveyed this same landscape over two centuries ago. With its combination of scenic overlooks, historical significance, and peaceful atmosphere, Kaw Point Park is a must-visit spot for anyone looking to experience a meaningful connection between nature, history, and the city’s evolving skyline.

Such a staple of what kansas city represents. History and beauty. You get both in heaps at this little nugget of a public park in the Heart of the region. Ease of access. Ample parking. Seasonal restroom availability. Paved trails and boat ramp. And there are MANY historical and informative markers regarding native American habitation to Lewis & Clark's visit and encampment, to native plants and artful sculptures and rock placements. Lots of riverside fishing access for the angler of the family and boat access for boating and fishing. If you live in the area or are just visiting, you MUST stop by and see the views.
Minivans R — Google review
Absolutely gorgeous views. Bring a tazer or something though, lots of house-less folks around here who seem kinda strung out, they mostly stay under the bridge, though.

To think of the history and the tribes that lived near the river and were savagely killed or removed by Lewis and Clark's expedition westward. Lots of unsettling energy in the atmosphere 💔 Rest in Power indigenous souls

I drive by this park every day on my way work and pull in every day to take a photo of the beautiful downtown skyline. Unfortunately, even though the sign states the park opens at 730, it is NEVER open at 730. The person in charge of opening the gate leisurely arrives around 8. Guess his sleep is more important than his JOB!! RIDICULOUS!!! Give me the key and I'll make sure it's open on time every day. This park smells bad and there's lots of homeless people here, too. But that view! It sure is pretty!!

A beautiful and free park near downtown Kansas City with fishing, hiking, gardens, education, history, restrooms, picnic areas and all of the above! This is by far the best part I’ve seen in this entire area. More than enough places to park (for free). And even if this place is crowded, it’s pretty easy to find a place all to yourself. The park is also a beautiful site at night 🌚

Beautiful place. Wonderful view and best view of kansas city. A best place for person who loves history and a panoramic view . In nutshell, its a place where you learn the history and various aspect about world War and stories of people who were in it.And at the same time you if you go to the top of liberty memorial tower you can see the present best best of Kansas city.

One of the best museums I've been to. They do a great job presenting the information in various ways. If you don't like to read, they have audio and video presentations (some of which do a great job immersing you in the story). And if you like reading all the notes around each exhibit, those are there for you too.

I am a veteran of the 7th ID and several other patches. It was awesome to see uniforms, weapons, and gear that the WW1 soldiers used. The museum was very organized and interesting. I was in the area on a business trip and wished I had more time to spend at the museum and tower. I spent about two hours at the museum and a half hour at the tower. I would go back to view more videos and read more about the exhibits.

Went to the WW1 museum and spent five wonderful hours viewing and learning about WW1's history. The virtual reality exhibit was incredible. A lot to see, if you go take your time, there is alot of interesting stories and artifacts.

We visited the park today at the WWI Museum (museum is on a separate review...it's awesome!). The park is pretty nice, and spacious. Plenty of grass and trees too have a family gathering, picnic, jog or just unwind. There's a couple of cool statues and a great view of the city. The grounds were fairly clean except a few areas of broken glass by the parking lot. Overall pretty nice though.

7/11/2024 12:08 AM This is my absolute favorite park in the entire Kansas City Metro area. I go here numerous times a week just to take pix of the way the city and the scenery changes throughout the year. I've been told that this is also an off the leash dog park as well and there're numerous small trails thru the slightly wooded areas as well that are fun to explore. I DO NOT edit ANY of the pictures I take anywhere! All I do is use different angles and zooms 😜

I had the ground beef skewers and they were delicious. So much food on the platter. I could only eat about half of the meal. My friend had the lamb kebabs. And while good, they were a bit overcooked for her liking. The\nGreek salad was very good, made with romaine. We would definitely go. Back.

🔥 The Forest in Westport really stood out. The vibe here felt different — calm, clean, and grounded. Staff were respectful and didn’t treat me like a number. That matters. They actually listened and helped me find what I needed without attitude or pressure. I’ve been to other dispensaries where the energy felt off — this wasn’t one of them. Products were solid, and the place had a peaceful, welcoming feel. I’ll definitely be back when I’m in KC again. This spot gets it.

Josh!!! Huge shoutout to our waiter Josh! Phenomenal customer service is hard to find these days. You my friend deserve to be celebrated. You are appreciated beyond words can express…. THANK YOU! This establishment was wayyy more than what I was expecting! I was blown away by the decor, ambiance, and also the method of ordering. As a Texan, we are used to standing in a line to order in cafeteria style. This restaurant is actually a table service establishment which made the experience even better! We ordered brisket, ribs, pulled pork, Mac n cheese, beans, baked potato, and smoked salmon dip. All were AMAZING!!! Fresh, flavorful, and muy delicioso!! Can y’all please bring this greatest to Texas??? Pretty Please!!!

Solid spot in KC with some creative drinks and good BBQ. Everything was priced fairly. The drinks were poured generously and the BBQ had solid flavor. Our server was really nice and got us everything in a timely manner. If in the area I recommend checking out!

Fiorella’a Jack Stack does it so good! Best BBQ in KC. Seated 7 very quickly. Very polite, friendly, & professional staff. Outside seating was very comfortable & warm. Our server, Kylee is amazing. The pork & beef burnt ends, sausage, ribs, & lamb were all delicious. Finally, the birthday celebration was so wonderful to bring joy for our ELDERLY guest.

The lamb ribs are a must have! The turkey is good if you're in to that sort of thing (no shame in admiting it). The brisket was good too, but didn't meet the high standard set by the other meats. Fries were well seasoned and had a good fluffy texture with a crisp outside. If you just want dessert this is a better option than those cookie places. She Jack on my Stack 'till I Kansas City Barbecue.

In KC for a business trip and decided to stop into Jack Stack for a lunch. It was a Wednesday and the special was southern pulled pork sandwich on a hoagie so that sounded good. I was greeted by my server Hunter, who is very pleasant and accommodating. He went over the menu with me and then when he brought my sandwich, he explained the different barbecue sauces to see if I wanted to try a different one. Besides the original made suggestions on the sides. He was a pleasure to have as a server so along with my sandwich, I ordered the potato salad and coleslaw for my sides. The potato salad was so good. The potatoes were sliced very nicely instead of chunks. They were nice slices so it was easy to eat had great flavor. The coleslaw was creamy with a little sweetness just the way I like it. Everything was perfect. I sat outside in the patio area. It was a little cool that day so it was heated. Parking was easy for a city location very pleased with my choice and I’ll definitely go back when I’m in the city again.

First off, I’m from Texas and know my barbecue, plus I travel all over North America . This place has damn good food! I have never seen a barbecue place with lamb ribs. I had to get those and they did not disappoint. I also got the brisket. A lot of northern places don’t do brisket or do it well. Jack stack does it very well. The side was excellent too, I had the beans and coleslaw. I will for sure be back I a recommend this as a must try if your in the area.

Q39 - Midtown is a trendy spot with high ceilings and exposed brick that offers delicious smoked BBQ and wood-fired meats. While there, you can visit various museums like the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, and Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art.
Lunchtime at Q39 a busy place. Good sign. Spacious open dining room with a good view of the kitchen and full bar with seating as well. Started with "Best Wings on the Planet". Definitely very good. Nice char on the outside, tender meat on the inside. Really flavorful. Then had the combo plate with ribs, and beef brisket. Sides of fire roasted Mexican street corn, and five cheese mac with breadcrumbs. Both sides were excellent. The ribs and brisket were good. A little on the smaller portion size than you would expect considering the price, but good nonetheless. Will definitely be back to try again..

We flew from Chicago this morning, first time in KS and had only one purpose, come and try Q39. From the moment we walked in we felt welcome, our waiter Haleigh was OUTSTANDING, absolutely the sweetest.. please if manager are seen this give her a compliment from our part such a nice employee you have, love her hospitality. Now about the food. We ordered what they call it THE best wings on the planet 🌍 and they were not kidding, absolutely AMAZING. We also ordered pick 3 with ribs, brisket and pulled pork and all of them were delicious but my fav was the brisket, sooooo tender and great taste. If I ever come back to KS I need to stop at this place again, 10/10.

Smoked meat is delicious, half chicken dark meat is preferable, ribs, brisket, burnt ends, and sausage. French fries is the only side preferable to me. Nachos are delicious however they're seasonal and available April through October. The service once seated is phenomenal, food comes out fast and the staff are nice. The atmosphere is loud and crowded since it is a popular diner. The price for the quality of food is justified.

Fantastic BBQ restaurant with great food and service! Tried Old fashioned, Best Wings on the planet, Burnt End burger and Carrot cake. To start with, Old fashioned is solid! Burnt End burger is so juicy and just melts in your mouth. Chicken wings are damn good with BBQ Sauce, and Carrot cake is out of this world! Must try If you like to indulge mouthwatering BBQ meat around Kansas City. I’m surprised how fast the service is! Note: All the food items are shareables

This place was cool, but I’m not a fan of placing an order and then having to wait outside. I was told they’d call my name once the order was ready, but after waiting 20 minutes with no update, I went back in and found my order sitting there—they definitely forgot. They need a better system for handling pickup orders. That said, the food was phenomenal. The wings and brisket were on point, the half chicken comes already sauced, and the burnt ends were absolutely worth it.

I was really excited to try this place as many say it is the best Kansis City BBQ spot. But I was actually disappointed after trying the food. Don't get me wrong the food was still good but nothing really special. I can find a similar level of BBQ quality almost anywhere else. I got many dishes; all of them were OK. - Burnt ends and Brisket: had much better else where (Jack Stack as an example) - Mr buns, another OK. Adding BBQ sauce lifted up the flavor a bit - Brisket Cheesesteak: what I call wasted calories, meaning very high calories that aren't worth it - Dessert Trio: was probably the best thing I had from the menu. I liked all the 3 desserts provided. The service tho was excellent. I told them that i need to catch a flight and they got me the food in timely manner.

The best BBQ we have ever had. This place has got to be the reason why Kamsas City is so famous for their BBQ. Hopefully the Chiefs aren't as good as the BBQ 😅 Go Colts This picture is the Mac and Cheese with pork belly. Everything we had was delicious. The Burnt Ends, Brisket, Spare Ribs and more. We went at 2:00 on a saturday and they were packed but they are efficient. We got in quickly and service was amazing. Don't let the full parking lot discourage you. If we come back to KC we will definitely be back! 10/10 RECCOMEND.

The Harry S Truman National Historic Site, located in Grandview and Independence, Missouri, is the former home of the 33rd president of the United States. Visitors can explore the intimate glimpse of Truman's life and career through personal artifacts, furniture, photographs, and period antiques. The white Victorian-style structure remains much as it did in the early 20th century. The site also includes neighboring homes such as those belonging to Bess Truman's brothers and the president's aunt.
Beautiful home and very interesting, knowledgeable park guide. I didn’t know much about Truman but really enjoyed the history lesson. The National Park Service has done a great job with the videos and the house across the street that belonged to Truman’s cousins. Wish we had more time to go through the Truman Library.

“The Buck stops here.” So much information! I have been to several president museums and this is definitely a better one. I especially liked going to the Truman house just one mile from the museum and touring it. Truman was there only president to not go to college, yet he was incredible in his leadership abilities. So much memorabilia and history here. A must see for those who love history!

The Harry S. Truman National Historic Site offers a unique opportunity to step into the personal world of President Truman. The home is beautifully preserved, and the 30-minute guided tour of the first floor is both informative and engaging. The park ranger shared great stories that made the experience even more memorable. Across the street, another house displays more about Truman and his family. It’s a wonderful historic site for anyone interested in learning more about this pivotal figure in American history.

This Presidential Library with spectacular. It followed the progression that developed his leadership. He was a humble servant, give me the White House more secure in the Oval Office a modest place of Presidential representation. I highly recommend, learning what real leadership is like. Interesting fact while we were there during the week leading to 4th of July 2025, that is the building where Johnson signed the bill that put Medicare in place for the American public, while the current Administration wants to dismantle Medicare and Medicaid.

Very pleasant venue. I'd not been to this one in Kansas city area, yet. I was very pleased it was very accessible to get in and out of. Seating was nice for Styx, the layout where you can feel like part of the concert even with the budget seats was amazing. Totally great time. My parents and kid were also impressed. I left KC back in '94, so this was my first time back in 30+ years. Flew in to see Melissa Etheridge (at "home") & Indigo Girls (incidentally, my 1st Starlight concert back in '90 or '91) & WOW, Upgrades galore! I remember the sound as really good, but it was great Aug. 21st, 25! Loved the ambiance of the smaller theater. The fountains were beautiful. Parking (free!) was a breeze; I was in & out without dealing with long waiting - even in the restrooms. A large cold bottle of water was $8. highway robbery, but that's the norm, anymore. All in all, Starlight is an INCREDIBLE amphitheater and I highly recommend a night out there!

Starlight Theatre is one of the premier stages for theater in Kansas City. We went to see "Life of Pi" and I was so impressed with the production ability to capture all the nuance of the novel and movie. If you see a production that looks interesting, I urge you to go for it. From parking to leaving and everything in between, it was an A+ experience. As for the venue itself, it was immaculate and beautiful. I believe I could have sat in any seat and been completely happy with the experience. Would recommend whole-heartedly.

Nestled in the heart of Kansas City, the Kansas City Museum is a captivating destination that invites visitors to explore the rich tapestry of local and regional history. Housed within a stunning Beaux-Arts mansion built in 1910, this museum boasts an impressive collection of artifacts and interactive exhibits that chronicle the city's evolution over time.
Cool museum in a cute neighborhood. We were able to find street parking nearby and walked in right as they opened on Thursday morning. We really only came here for the Inciardi mini print machine but explored all three floors of their exhibits. The gift shop had a lot of unique gifts, too. 🪙

Free on Fridays. Interesting place to learn local history about the Long family and Kansas City. The film they show is worth seeing. As for the exhibits, it's good information, more signage than artifacts, but definitely worth the visit.

Absolutely amazing museum! Gorgeous mansion, beautifully restored, and free admission. We had a group of 12 people, and the tour guide was quite knowledgeable. The main floor and lower level was restored to how the home looked as built. The upper 2 floors are typical museum exhibit space, depicting the history of Kansas City, going back to the native Americans who settled in the area. Way surpassed my expectations!!! My girlfriend and I will be back, as our group didn't get much time visiting the upper 2 floors due to our schedule.

Overall this was an excellent experience. This facility is state of the art, and the displays do an excellent job of holding you attention. Also the lady at the front desk was extremely helpful and friendly. My only issue is that many of the displays on the 2nd and 3rd floors do have a hard political bent towards one side of the aisle. Overall a good exprerience that I would recomend to others

One of the hidden gems of Kansas City. Definitely a must visit museum if you want to learn about the history of Kansas City. The museum which originally belonged to the Long family and was built in 1906 has so much history. Also it’s free to get in, and all the staffs are very knowledgeable about a lot of things in the museum. They also have art works on rotation which means you get to see something new when you visit. Anytime is a good time to visit this museum. I went on a weekend and it wasn’t too crowded. Enjoy:)

Nestled within Swope Park, the Lakeside Nature Center is a vital wildlife rehabilitation facility in Missouri. It serves as a home to approximately 75 rescued and rehabilitated animals, including various bird species like owls, vultures, falcons, hawks, and bald eagles. The center offers educational opportunities for all ages through live wildlife exhibits and three interpretive walking trails.
Such a great little spot to take the kiddos! You can tell all the animals there are well taken care of and they have hiking trails. Definitely recommend visiting if in the area.
Brandi R — Google review
We didn't actually go into the nature center, but plan to another day. Instead we walked the Fox Hollow Trail. A nice hike for a 40° winter day. Still some snow on the ground. The only thing we didn't like so much was that the trail wasn't marked very well, and at times we weren't really sure if we were on the trail or not. We saw only two signs, but numerous places where it looked like people had deviated, whether on purpose or by accident, who knows. That was a minor thing though. It was a beautiful hike.

What a wonderful place! This was our first time here and we will be back for sure! Just like its neighbor, the zoo, it has lots of exhibits and animals to see - minus the huge crowds! Even though it’s much smaller, the kids loved seeing the bald eagle, coyote, tarantula and the turtles - plus many more animals and birds. There’s lots of hiking paths, a nice picnic area and a cute little gift shop area. We can’t wait to return!
Kiffany B — Google review
Love this place! We didn’t know it existed until we had to bring a baby squirrel here that fell out of the neighbors tree. They have top quality animal exhibits and try their hardest to make everything as interactive as possible. Lots of things the kids can hold and touch and move and spin etc. They have a puppet stage for kids and lots of toys and puzzles all inside with AC, heat, and bathrooms. The ladies at the front desk are always friendly and are excited to answer any questions you may have. When you are tired of being inside they have a peaceful little area set up with a waterfall, benches, and bird feeders just outside the building. Then, if you’re feeling adventurous there are numerous trails around the building that you can hike. Really cool limestone bluffs that over look the train tracks. My kids always have a blast here!!

Our experience. My daughter reached out to Lakeside Nature Center after we found rabbits in our backyard. We were seeking education and guidance. She drove 35 minutes from Liberty to bring them in, and within 5 minutes, the rabbits were euthanized. The staff member told her afterward that they were emaciated, but no one explained beforehand that this would be the outcome. This left my daughter heartbroken, as she was not prepared for such an immediate decision. Even if euthanasia was the only option, there should have been clearer communication and compassion in explaining the process. At the very least, an opportunity to understand why this step was necessary before it happened. I later spoke with a manager who was kind enough to discuss the situation with me. However, the conversation also included some deflection and left me feeling that more training is needed for staff in handling sensitive situations like this. She kept speaking that we needed a permit, I guess that tells me since we didn't have a permit, it was their right to put them down. I hope Lakeside can improve communication and compassion when dealing with the public, especially with young people who are trying to do the right thing by bringing in wildlife.

Lakeside Nature Center is a wonderful place to spend a few hours exploring nature and our group had a great time. The kiddos picked up the scavenger hunt pages and we helped them find the animals and answer the questions as we made our way through the space and the exhibits. There truly is something for everyone. After we went through the indoor experience, we went outside and completed one of the nature hikes. Next time we go we will do the hike portion first and then the indoor portion after. The trails are very well maintained, the facilities are exceptionally clean, and I have zero complaints. This space is super accessible and we will absolutely be returning here. They have a wonderful outside covered picnic area, you can rent an indoor space for parties, and they also provided scheduled tours. There is also a wildlife sanctuary here. Please do go check Lakeside Nature Center out!

Wow, this is a great little place. Leashed pets are welcome. There are cool rock formations and limestone glades. You can walk down over a stream, and there is a pipe in a bridge to check out. It's not very big however but there is a dog park near by to tucker out your pooch. I have not been inside, but they even have a wildlife emergency rooms. It is probably really cool for kiddo.

Visited KC from the UK, and decided to visit here for a couple of hours. Its a lovely little nature centre. A nice little selection of animals on show. With all the learning materials on offer I felt like it was more aimed towards children and school visits. The walks around the centre were lovely, especially on the sunny day we picked to visit. All the animals looked well look after.

Green Lady Lounge is an iconic jazz club with a retro vibe, featuring live music every night in a setting of scarlet walls and a marble bar. The venue offers a perfect jazz atmosphere with its dimly lit space, red walls, and long lampshades casting a warm glow. Visitors can enjoy live jazz performances without any cover charge while sipping on cocktails and wines from the extensive menu. Additionally, the lounge provides appetizers to complement the musical experience.
This place was packed and lively and truly felt like THE place to be. We had to wait at the door to be escorted in. Seating was definitely limited, but the atmosphere was friendly and accommodating. A group welcomed us with open arms to sit at the table really close to them…almost a shared space. We visited and they filled us in on the best drinks. I wish I could remember what I ordered, but I only got a picture. I tried a few different drinks and all were very good…crafted perfectly. Make sure to venture to the basement where there’s a completely different band playing. The red glow, mirrors, and chandeliers throughout make for great pictures! I will definitely return to this jazz lounge!

Doesn't look like much from the outside, but once you walk into the Green Lady Lounge, I think you'll be blown away. Both the main level and the lower level offer unique experiences. They charge a cover even when bands aren't performing, but when I stopped by during the day to check it out, they let me look around without charging me. My wife and I went back later that evening and had a great time. Great drinks and wonderful jazz music. Highly recommend you try out both areas!!!

The Green Lady Lounge is a really nice spot to enjoy live jazz in Kansas City. The atmosphere is relaxed with comfortable seating and mood lighting, and the music was excellent. Love Green Lady Lounge! I only get there once every few years as I'm from Minnesota, but was in KC for a wedding last weekend. I made sure to stop in and show my husband my favorite KC spot. Great music, delicious drinks, and friendly staff. The atmosphere is so cool too! Can't go wrong with gawdy, vintage decor and red lights 😍 I'm not sure when, but I WILL be back.

The Green Lady Lounge is a classy, speakeasy-style cocktail and jazz lounge with an inviting, old-school charm. There’s a $10 cover charge, and they check IDs at the door. Once you step inside, smooth jazz music fills the air, setting the perfect mood. The lighting is warm and atmospheric, with beautiful vintage hanging lanterns adding to the nostalgic vibe. The staff is super friendly and attentive, and the live band was fantastic—definitely one of the highlights of the night. They offer both cocktails and mocktails, with mocktails priced around $10 and cocktails starting at $12, depending on your choice of liquor. My favorite drink was the Berries and Cream mocktail, while my husband loved the Dark & Spicy Mule. While they don’t serve full meals, they do have a few snack items and desserts to enjoy alongside your drinks. I also appreciated that when you close out your tab, you have the option to tip the band directly on your receipt—a nice touch that supports the live music. Overall, The Green Lady Lounge is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates great jazz, quality drinks, and an elegant yet relaxed atmosphere.

Date night - Stop #1 Trying something new! Jazz Bar 🎶 The Green Lady Lounge is an exclusively Jazz lounge featuring Kansas City Jazz musicians A little hole-in-the-wall with a cool, throwback vibe. Think speakeasy! The jazz bands were great—lively but not too loud—and we’ll definitely be back. It’s a perfect spot to hang out before or after dinner since they don’t serve food. Even with a full house, our server checked in on us often. This two-level jazz club near downtown Kansas City was a fun find for us. We did not make it to the downstairs bar. We will save that for next time! The signage can be a little tricky to spot if you’re not familiar with the area. Hummus & crackers for a snack My drinks: Mocktail - ORANGE-CRANBERRY MARTINI - Orange juice, cranberry juice, lime juice, simple syrup, grenadine, orange bitters, orange peel then I had the ETHAN ORANGE - Cold brew coffee, cinnamon simple, cream or oat milk, black walnut bitters, orange peel. Jons drinks: MANHATTAN - Rye whiskey, sweet vermouth, angostura bitters, cherry then he had a KANSAS CITY COFFEE - Rye whiskey, whiskey cream, cold brew coffee, simple syrup Total bill was only $70 We will be back! 📍 1809 Grand Blvd, Kansas City, MO. #datenight #makingmemories #nightout #supportlocal #jazzmusic

The Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City has a rich history, with its first building opening in 1914 at 928 Grand as a temporary site until the grander structure at 925 Grand was completed in 1921. This latter location even served as President Harry S. Truman's office after his presidency until the Truman Library opened. In 2002, the bank moved to its current home near Liberty Memorial, where it now features The Money Museum.
Free. Informative self guided tour of how the National Monetary System works. Takes less than an hour to go through, but you do get a free souvenir for coming! Great for kids.

What a fascinating educational experience. Make sure to visit on days and times where they give a tour. You get to learn a deep history of the Federal Reserve and its role in the US economy. Check out the 11 minute looping movie to learn how the Federal Reserve works within the United States economy. You’ll find plenty of free parking when you visit if you drive. Make sure to check with security, so you understand which areas do not allow photography. Before you leave, remember: Each visitor gets to take Home a bag of shredded money. Near the shredded money or educational materials, free courses, and some magazines which dive deeper into federal reserve policy.
Don S — Google review
This is a great place to check out! The Federal Reserve was a very informative tour. We went when they had a docent. They do that occasionally. We caught the last one of the summer. They have a ton of historic items. Even a Tommy Gun! They tell you about money, coins, and you can see great interactive displays. Check out the display of $40M in “$100 bills”! A few are real. Most are not in the display. It weighs 800 pounds. The Harry Truman Coin Collection is incredible! The cash room is something to see. It’s fascinating! No pictures allowed of that operation.
Dustin E — Google review
I was really surprised how fun the money museum was. It's kind of wild how little the average person knows about something we use pretty much every day. The interactive exhibits are fun for people of all ages. From trying to lift a gild bar (like 27lbs!!) to making your own money or taking a look at savings and interest, there's fun for everyone. I'd definitely recommend making it a stop while visiting KC. Best of all, it's free!

The Federal Reserve Bank money museum is such an easy quick and free stop in Kansas City. Tours are free and take about an hour. The Harry S Truman coin collection is unbelievable. Some of the coins in the collection are 1 of only 300 coins made. Very neat to see how coins have changed over the years and quite the vast collection! Also being able to watch the money be counted and shredded if no longer in good condition is quite the sight to see. The money being stored and put on racks by the robotics is very interesting behind 900 ton vault doors makes you realize just how much cash is held there. Also seeing the wall of what $40 million dollars looks like stacked up is quite unique. Tours are only available Monday-Friday.

Absolutely gorgeous place! Learning about the building's history was incredibly fascinating. Even if you don't have a lot of time, it's worth dropping in just to view the architecture & the carefully curated history displays about Union Station. Walk around & take in those 95-foot ceilings with a cup of coffee from the cafe on-site or grab a bite of lunch from the restaurant. There is so much to do here & they have featured exhibitions as well. We only visited to view the building & the history displays but they have tons of other stuff to do, so do your research ahead of time. It could easily be turned into a full day of exploration. Long live Union Station!

This place was AMAZING!!! It is worthy of a visit by everyone. The place is generally free - that's why you pay for parking. The first 30 minutes are free. Then you pay $7 for up to 5 hours. It's a but of change after that. The place was big. These are free areas that tells you about trains and you get to walk the large hall. At the front of the place is 3 floors that is about the building and how it was build and restored. That part is free. There's 4 restaurants in there, 2 areas you have to pay for the kids (an outdoor play area, and kids science museum), a movie theater, and a free planetarium. There's also a small interacted science museum that has optical illusions. It was $18 per person. And, of course, a gift shop. There's also an Amtrak that runs to St. Louis. So yes, there's a REAL train there too. And a post office. The architecture is Wonderful-Amazing-Superb!!! The restoration is explained on the 3rd floor of the museum. Very interesting. There's also a part about a WW1 monument that's outside. It's free too. Overall, it's a place for the entire family, couples and older ones. No pets allowed, but they wouldn't get much out of it anyway. A must see!! So, why travel outside of the United States? *wisper* no passport.

All aboard! We had so much fun exploring the Titanic exhibit at Union Station that we’re officially planning round two in Branson! 🚢✨ My passenger name was Clear Annie Cameron — I came to the new world with a friend, we both survived, and yet… I still hopped right back on a ship to England a few years later because America just wasn’t doing it for me. But the wildest part of Clear’s story? She talked about how so many first-class men refused to give up their seats for women and children. Tom's Town Distilling Co. is an Art Deco lounge located in the Crossroads area of Kansas City, paying homage to the city's scandalous past during Prohibition. The distillery features a stunning tasting room with tufted leather, pressed tin, and a handmade walnut bar. It also includes a top-of-the-line production area, basement barrel room, and airy loft-style event space.
The minute we walked in we were greeted and asked if we were there for the tour. We each had a yummy cocktail even though we didn’t feel pressured to have to order anything. Will recommend and would revisit.

Our friends invited us to the distillery tour at Tom’s Town. We got tickets in advance and joined them on the distillery tour. Our tour guide Kate was fantastic! She’s also a chemical engineer and the assistant distiller, so she had deep knowledge on all the processes and handled questions with ease. She guided both our tour and tasting marvelously. We enjoyed learning about the process and the tasting. There was a nice film featuring the owners and other locals. They explained who Tom Pendergast was and about Prohibition in KC. They had some fine spirits!! We purchased the delicious vodka and a special reserve bourbon aged in apple brandy barrels that is only available at the distillery. We enjoyed a cocktail after the tour and had dinner across the street. It was a lovely afternoon!!

The Thomas Hart Benton Home and Studio State Historic Site, established in 1977, is a late-Victorian house that served as the residence and art studio of renowned artist Thomas Hart Benton from 1939 until his passing in 1975. The site contains 13 original paintings and personal belongings of the artist. It offers visitors a captivating glimpse into the life and mind of this significant contributor to 20th-century art.
The outside of the house was nice. The art studio where Thomas Hart painted his artwork was even more special. The inside felt like an actual lived-in historic home even including an early-1970s TV set, paintings, and cozy spaces to complete. Although there is a small $5 admission fee per person, it was worth it.

Run, don’t walk to this tour!!! I’m a sucker for #midcenturymodern 🥰 Did you know that this artist might have been an unknown without the help of his brilliant businesswoman wife? Go on this tour!!! They don’t make houses with this kind of character anymore!!!! Stay tuned for more fun field trips, including the star of the show, my dad. Also check out the one from today where my dad and I walked all over the @countryclubplaza where my dad delivered mail for a couple of years. The architecture and detail are absolutely insane in this beautiful city! Didn't know anything about this fellow before walking into this museum—this dude was COOL. When you go in, especially if you know little, recognize that he was a little more *metal* than you think. AMAZING docents that knew exactly how to tell the story of this dude's life and career.

This is a guided tour. The guide's knowledge was excellent. He knew the history but also had stories about Thomas Hart Benton and his family.

Extraordinary way to spend an hour! Joe, the witty, wise & warm tour guide, took a group through Benton's beautiful home & art studio - a really intimate & enlightening way to appreciate the artist, his work & his family. Highest recommendation for a great museum experience.

This is easily the best house museum I've ever visited. Katie, our tour guide, was expert-level knowledgeable about Benton, his family, and the home and was wonderfully engaging by asking us questions and starting conversations. I had no idea that this place is the smallest national park in the US at a 1/3 of an acre! Very intimate experience and I felt like I came away with so much knowledge and insight. I hope to visit again soon and go on the Roanoke Walking Tour Katie put together.
