Botanica, The Wichita Gardens is a lush botanical paradise nestled in downtown Wichita, boasting over 18 acres of diverse gardens and woodlands showcasing more than 4,000 plant species. Visitors can explore the Downing Childrens Garden with its farm beds, treehouse, musical maze, and butterfly garden nurturing various butterfly species.
Beautiful place. Quiet and peaceful during afternoon hours. Really enjoyed the green trees, fresh air and resting under the shade. They have a kids play area with pavilion. It was really beautiful , my kids enjoyed it. Children library is small but really great for kids. They have few limited food and drinks available for purchase.

My kids 8 & 11 loved it here! This ended up being one of our best stops on our road trip! We came during an evening and although we saw it all, we had to make our way through very quickly and I wished we had planned more time. It's a very big place!! The carousel wasn't working the evening but the attendant took the time to show us the automatic music machine, which was kind of like a player piano and honestly I think we enjoyed it more than we would have the actual carousel ride. I was so grateful for that attendant's time and patience to show us that! This is an absolutely gorgeous place! If I lived closer, I would visit here weekly!
Brian-Amanda B — Google review
Went on a Wednesday afternoon. No crowds. Bigger than I expected. Great price at $13. Totally worth it. Lots of butterflies. Helpful staff. Wish there were more water stations throughout the park. Maybe I just didn't see them.

So happy with my membership! I love having access to the beautiful gardens. This is my favorite place in Wichita. It brings me so much peace to visit this natural space. Botanica truly improves our community. Becoming a member has profoundly increased my well-being and quality of life. Thank you!
Kat E — Google review
Botanica was absolutely beautiful! My daughter in an aspiring photographer so she loved the experience of being able to take her own photos (not shared below as they are still being developed). We loved how everything was labeled so it was easy to identify. The fountain was definitely my favorite as it was surrounded my lilies, my favorite flower. The only downside is that there isn't anywhere to really cool off. It was super hot and while we were able to find shade and some relief in the building with the carousel, that was about it. We skipped a good section of the gardens just to get back to the main lobby and hang out in the children's lobby to cool off.
Tanisha W — Google review
We enjoyed strolling through this vibrant, well-curated garden for a couple of hours on a lovely day. With a butterfly house, several playgrounds and kid-friendly facilities, it’s the perfect place for the whole family to spend time together. Highly recommended.
Cat H — Google review
A must visit in Wichita! We spent about an hour here and it was beautiful. It is super well taken care of. The many flowers and butterflies were our highlights. Make sure to stop by the butterfly garden, which is magical. Will absolutely be back when I’m next in Wichita!

The garden sculptors are the best that I've ever seen and I've seen many!! The children's garden is unique and very creative. Even though the gardens are well past there height, I was not disappointed

Zoo
Zoos & Aquariums
Sedgwick County Zoo, one of the nation's 10 largest zoos, is home to over 3,000 animals from 400 species across its 25-acre outdoor environment. Visitors can explore different regions and see exotic creatures from around the world, including orangutans and rare okapis.
Beautiful, clean, fun. Expect a lot of walking so the earlier you go to beat the heat, the better. Probably a good idea to wear a hat or use sunscreen too. Loved seeing the animals up close. The gift shop was very nice too. We bought our tickets online and saved some money.
Pav413 — Google review
Absolutely BEAUTIFUL zoo!! The entire zoo is very clean to include the bathrooms. There is a large assortment of animals to see & the animals appear quite healthy. There are bathrooms scattered throughout the zoo. A large amount of motorized scooters with and without shade are available for rental (in the $30 range for the entire day.) There are also motorized animals like the ones in malls for rent-I believe they were $26/hour. A cup can be purchased for $10 that gets you free refills for the day. We really enjoyed feeding the giraffes and petting & feeding the stingrays! Such a special place. We really enjoyed ourselves. Plan a whole day here so you can see everything!
Kristi C — Google review
Had a wonderful Saturday exploring the Sedgwick County Zoo with two friends! We booked our tickets online, which I highly recommend—it was simple and saved us $25 total ($5 per ticket) compared to the gate price. The zoo itself is beautiful and was decorated with these incredible, giant animal lanterns from some kind of special event. The snow leopard and butterfly displays we saw were a magical touch and made the walkways even more fun. We spent most of our day exploring the Africa, South America, and Australia sections, and the habitats are truly world-class. A few tips for your visit: Arrive Early! The zoo is HUGE. We weren't able to see the North America section because we ran out of time. To cover everything without rushing, I'd say the best time to get there is between 10 and 11 AM. Check for Closures: We were disappointed to find the Cessna Penguin Cove was closed for maintenance. It’s probably a good idea to check their website before you go. Animal Naps are Real: It was a sunny day, so the lion and tiger were snoozing in the shade, and we couldn't find the red panda. It happens, but if you want to see them active, an earlier or cooler day might be better! Even with the few things we missed, it was an amazing day out. It’s a top-notch zoo and a fantastic value.
Raj K — Google review
My Service Dog’s first visit did not disappoint! Employees were knowledgeable upon our arrival and directed us in to receive his staff-shirt-colored bandana (unfortunately not a keepsake and must be returned upon exit) and map of restricted areas for him (not many, and each of the restricted buildings had a very clearly labeled sign for SD’s on the entrance). There are no dedicated relief areas but many grassy lawns with a cluster of trees or bench you can duck behind to be more discrete. It was so fun to see all the exhibits through my pup’s eyes. The “wild lights” statues and things were set up which made for twice as many cool things to look at in addition to the animals- highly recommend going during this time! Lots of animals were up close and/or moving- we had the luck of a warm but breezy day so no one was scorching, but you still want to wear sunscreen, pack water, and plan to walk! The Beastro makes for a great lunch midday- the Falafal Caesar Salad was surprisingly AMAZING! Thanks so much SCZ- we will be back! (We wish we could have kept our pup’s bandana as a memento! Please let this be an option next time- we would buy it if needed :)

I was visiting from out-of-state and had to go to this zoo. It was beautiful and did not disappoint! The animal habitats were nicely laid out, and animals could be clearly seen. The penguin encounter was closed due to new glass replacement, and the stingray exhibit was closed for the season, but everything else was great. It was pretty with the lantern decorations even in the daytime. I would also recommend the train ride.
Janice A — Google review
Viewed the Zoo's seasonal lighting. Paid $16 for a ticket. Very nice, and plentiful displays. Most were animated and brilliantly lit. There are interactive games for children throughout the lights display; including an area with a lit see-saw, a pair of swings as well as a small fun house as well as a monster to interact with. These activities are for the young ones, but cool nonetheless. A bit of a line at the entrance, give we were there right at their opening time of six, but worth the short wait.
TW T — Google review
Really great zoo. My kids always have a great time going here. We saw an orangutan painting. Gorillas next to us and the elephants out n about on our train ride. We also saw some of the light exhibit. If you're ever bored, go here. $$$
Kalli K — Google review
What can I say about the local zoo? Lots of walking, plenty of things to see and do. Coming up on winter, many of the animals are off exhibit this time of year and there are many places under construction. However, the enclosures are generous, the staff is super friendly, and the overall traffic is pretty low so seeing your favorite animal is always easy...almost never more than a minute or two wait due to traffic. Wife and kids love this place, just make sure to pack some snacks if you're making a day of it. While the concessions are available, they're expensive for everything as it's a funding source for the zoo. Overall, it's a good time for the family and a great way to spend a day with the family if you grab the membership for the year like we do.

Old Cowtown Museum is a living history museum that offers a glimpse into the late-1880s life in the County. The museum features historic buildings and artifacts from the 1870s, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the sights, sounds, and activities of a Midwestern cattle town.
We had a fantastic time at the Old Cowtown Museum! It truly felt like stepping back in time. The staff and volunteers were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, and the historic buildings were beautifully preserved. We especially enjoyed the live demonstrations and interactive exhibits great for both kids and adults. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Wichita!

We took a day trip today & it was so much fun!!! The FAQ says to allow 1.5-2 hours, but it is also easily a full day depending on how much you want to read, absorb, and experience. We spent 4 hours and didn't read everything, or spend as much time in certain buildings as we could have. Our boys are 10 & under, and they had a blast!! They've already asked when they could come back. So much fun and truly an amazing experience. My husband & I haven't been here since we were in elementary school, and it's grown in the best way.

Old Cowtown Museum is a unique outdoor living history museum in Wichita, Kansas, offering a vivid step back in time to the city's early days as a booming cattle town from 1865 to 1880. Walk the dirt roads and immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of the Old West. The 23-acre site features over 50 historic and recreated buildings, including homes, a saloon, a blacksmith shop, and a period farm. Experience the past through costumed interpreters, hands-on activities, and a rich collection of artifacts. It's a fantastic place for all ages to learn about frontier life and the dramatic transformation of Wichita from a small settlement to a bustling agricultural and manufacturing center. Don't miss the staged gunfights and the chance to sip a sarsaparilla in the saloon! A must-visit for history enthusiasts.

This was such a cool place! We LOVED it! So amazing it feels like you went back in time! We very much appreciated the buildings with air conditioning. Also we loved the we could eat our picnic in the porch of the visitors center. Lovely museum!! Highly recommend!

Awesome little historical recreation. I loved how we could go into so many buildings. We went on a Thursday, so only the blacksmith was there, but he has to be one of the coolest people I've met. Definitely go on a cooler day too.

An absolutely amazing place!! 60 building from around Kansas have been moved to create Cow Town. Each building contains all the time period appropriate decor, instruments, clothing, and machinery.
Marilyn M — Google review
We had the pleasure of visiting the museum during our road trip from Oklahoma to Nebraska late August, and it was just great. You feel like you've been transported back to the late 1800s. The show in the front of the saloon is pretty good, and the kids enjoyed the buildings, which really put us in the mood of the era. The staff are friendly, and it was great to chat with them. Hope to see it again the next time we come from France.

Visited on Sunday. No charge to get in! Walked through and seen all the buildings and houses. The history was pretty cool! They did a shootout and got to see some gentleman playing the drums. Had a great time visiting.

What a gem in the heart of museum tie in Wichita. Wonderful exhibits, a great permanent collection, children’s area, and fun gift shop. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable too boot. The views from the second floor are beautiful and don’t forget to do the Chihuly Art Walk!

A great, cute little museum. Permanent collection had some gems, which was a nice surprise. Please visit, support your local museums!! Don't forget the sculpture garden outside, there were some teally nice pieces.

Lovely people, gorgeous special exhibit and a nice permanent collection. We enjoyed both the big name artists and the careful selection of local artists. We went early and our bracelet allowed us to go out and reenter later in the day.

Lovely museum with a great selection of American paintings. Beautiful building. We only had an hour and wish we had more time. Lots of galleries, thoughtfully curated.
Matt R — Google review
The free exhibits were exciting, what a perfect way to enjoy beautiful art. Also, getting to see young students art as well was really cool to see how creative some of them are.
Matthew W — Google review
Museum collection features over 10,000 pieces of art but only a small fraction are on display. Having visited dozens of art museums around the country this is not one of my favorites. It is well worth a quick visit given that it is free but the current exhibits were not very notable. Price: free though there is fee for traveling exhibits Parking: free ample parking Duration: 1hour Unless you are a bit fan of Robert Peterson the $12 exhibit of his art is not worth the admission price in my opinion.

The Keeper of the Plains is a 44-foot-tall sculpture that overlooks the confluence of the Big and Arkansas rivers in Wichita, Kansas. The statue was created by Native American artist Blackbear Bosin as a gift to celebrate the United States' bicentennial in 1976. Today, the Circle of Firepots surrounds the sculpture nightly, burning a Ring of Fire to honor Native American culture.
What a neat experience! A free attraction we were able to see as a family. The fires light up right at 9pm and stay on for 15 minutes. The area wasn't too crowded on the bridge or on the river bank where we walked. The entire vibe was very peaceful. I'd sit out there every night if I lived in the area.
Tanisha W — Google review
I've visited The Keeper of the Plains multiple times now during my various wandering and adventures around wichita, and everytime i pass by the area i make an effort to stop and rest here. The history, culture and education you can find here is educational for the kids, insightful for the average person, and Enlightening for the elderly. The smell of the fresh river water, The sounds of flutes and drums on the wind, there's no reason not to visit when you're in the region!
Ian ( — Google review
This place is incredibly beautiful. There's a bunch you can learn, and even more gravesites than you would think. There may also be a creepy looking troll somewhere in the area around the statue. Peaceful music plays, a nice water fountain with nice cold water. It's a nice place to just sit nearby and relax. At night, 9pm, fires are lit in the containers around the Keeper for around 15mins.
Natalia W — Google review
While on vacation, I wanted to check out a local park. We went to Keeper of the Plains. Upon arriving you can see a large statue and music playing. The surrounding scenery is very nice. Lots of history to read. Very unique and very cool park. Worth stopping at if you're in the area.
Beach F — Google review
Neat stop. Free parking on both sides of the bridge. I would get there about 830 as it gets busy. Good to walk around a bit and look at everything before they light it. You can stand under it ( next to fire) or there are benches on both sides of the river. We didn't get to see the torched lit as it was too windy. Don't forget to look for the troll. He's on the east side. Past the sitting area, up the sidewalk. You can see him better at night.
Jackie K — Google review
Such a great moment for our visit to Wichita. We found it to be a pensive experience with great music and people reflecting upon the lighting of the fires. The bridges alone are worth the walking experience.
Chris G — Google review
This is a pretty cool place in town minus a few graffiti marks here and there. Wish people wouldn't vandalize things like this. However, it is definitely worth the stop to check it out and walk around.

I stayed here overnight in my skoolie (using Harvest Host). The area is beautiful, especially at night. The museum was wonderful!

Exploration Place is the leading science center in Kansas, offering a wide range of captivating exhibits, live science shows, and hands-on programs for both kids and adults. The center features interactive displays on air, weather, water, land, and even includes a tornado feature. Visitors can also explore the Kansas in Miniature exhibit and Kids Explore area. Additionally, the Boeing Dome Theater and Planetarium offer fascinating experiences for all ages.
I visit and view museums all over the world and this place of exploration and discovery is truly one of the best I’ve ever seen. Their location alone on the bank of the Arkansas River is beautiful and well worth the photo op it provides during your visit. The diversity of interactions for people to see, the attention to detail in the collections and the enthusiasm shown, especially by the education staff, is truly inspiring. One of the most interesting, and probably overlooked by locals, is the “Welcome to Kansas” exhibit. Detailing the biodiversity of not only what is extant, but also endangered and now extinct, this exhibit incorporates the natural history of the area and the current state of industry focus and climate models for guests in interact with. Kiddos of all ages can spend their time easily in the collections all day and never be bored or lose their sense of wonder. If there was one thing I would add or change, it would be to offer a live animal static display/room and a daily ‘meet and greet’ with the public for a keeper to introduce local wildlife diversity. I feel this would go a long way to ensure the sustainability of species, especially given the amount of wildlife seen struck and deceased on public roads. I hear there is a $25M upgrade happening onsite to include amazing outdoor facilities and interactivity; perhaps the aforementioned idea might be included in that expansion. I can only highly recommend this unique museum and science center to travelers and locals alike. It is well worth your time and the nominal cost to visit. Rated 9.75/10 Recommend!! Enjoy the Intrigue and Education!

This was an amazing museum! We went all out and purchased the theater tickets as well. The Lady Gaga lazer show was way better than we imagined it would be! My kids had so much fun playing! We bought tickets on one of the days with extended hours and it got pretty quiet after 5pm. We loved it here and wish we lived closer so we could come back! There were plenty of picnic tables outside in the shade so we could eat the lunches we packed.

Hello! I wanted to take the time and fill out a brief review, my family and I were just in this last weekend! You guys had some amazing exhibits!! We rather enjoyed our time here! I only give you a two star rating for the following reason! As my family of five (me, my wife, my son, my two daughters (7y and 3m) as we got onto the elevator one of your staff members, an elderly gentleman preceded to join our ride to lower floor, as he is doing so I try to position my youngest (3 months old!) daughter who is in the stroller away from this gentleman, he sees what I am trying to accomplish and proceeds to say “hold on, hold on, I’m trying to see the little one and you’re taking her away from me” and reaches out and touches her foot.. NOT AT ALL okay… red flags flew up and I let the gentleman know “ I’m trying to do so because she is only 3m old, please do not touch my baby again!” I said so very loudly so he might get the hint then, he didn’t because he then put his hand on my back trying to calm me? There is no calming down in that situation, I think some educational meeting needs to be held with all your staff members, mandatory, should be held.. it is never okay to approach someone’s child, especially so young in that way.

We were in Witchita for a few days and decided to check out this museum. Im so glad we did! It's awesome and affordable, with a huge variety of artifacts- even mummies! The Buddha exhibit was beautiful, my favorite part probably. Besides my husband and I, we also had our 16, 11, and 9 year old kids and we all found a lot that fit each of our particular interests. We definitely enjoyed it and recommend it to anyone as a great way to spend an afternoon.

Okay, World Treasures to me doesn't include an entire floor on World Wars l & ll, Korean War, and Vietnam. I expected to see treasures, one of a kind beautiful, unusual items from around the world. The first floor has these though there is a lot of pottery

The museum was beyond expectations. It has a little bit of everything I've seen in larger museums. From a giant T-Rex to mummies to Roman voins to actual military grear. Everything had good descriptions and the layout helped the flow of patrons

This museum was such a nice surprise! From the outside, it looks small, but once you step inside, it opens up into a great exhibition with so much to see. There’s an impressive variety of displays—from dinosaurs and ancient mummies to artifacts from the western era. I really enjoyed exploring everything and learning along the way. I’d definitely visit again!

Went with my son's school and was shocked with how much I learned. The kids had a blast, they are middle schoolers so that says a LOT. All of the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable.

Nestled in the historic Wichita Municipal Airport terminal, the Kansas Aviation Museum is a captivating homage to aviation's rich history. Once one of the busiest airports globally during its peak in the 1940s, this Art Deco gem now serves as a vibrant educational hub. Visitors can explore two floors filled with fascinating exhibits that celebrate significant contributions from industry giants like Cessna and Boeing.
It was cool to see the planes from both inside and outside. It was also cool to see the interior of the old Wichita airport terminal before it got moved to the west side. The control tower has a decent view of the Wichita skyline and learning about the vintage planes were interesting.

Highly recommend this museum! I have been to a lot of museums (including the Smithsonians in DC) and I thought this was one of the best and most personable of the ones I have been to. I was not expecting to be able to go into the airplanes that were outside- it was so cool to see the planes up close! The museum staff were so knowledgeable and fun to talk to as well.

Had a blast exploring the museum. They had great exhibits for both kids and adults! The gift shop had some great things in it too. We also really enjoyed going up into the tower and listening to the airport and Air Force base communications. Totally recommend for family’s!

Amazing place! Really loved how they captured the entire aviation history and how this was born in Kansas. The relics they have available are in great shape and condition! Definitely a place worthwhile to visit and enjoy the ride of history lane!

It's a great aviation museum ! They have a Beech Starship! We really enjoyed it. The old Art-Deco Terminal Building is a great facility. I don't know how they got the planes inside of ut though!

To pricey for being exactly one hour long. The music was enjoyable but not sure i would go again. I would say it was worth going one time, but probably only one time.

There is a wonderful trail system here that has a lot of beautiful plants and animals to see. Jane in the center itself was very helpful and lovely! There is also one free scoop of turtle food available per group and the turtles are waiting not too far up the trail.

It could use more/better signage. Other than that, it's a very wonderful place. Several types of environments, & many different plants & animal species. Beautiful, clean, peaceful, safe, well designed. I spent 4 hours there & definitely want to return before leaving town.

I saw 2 humongous whales of wahmen fight a deer and lost. The deer charged and the average walmart specimens got frightened and rolled/waddled away from the deer. In the end I walked up and almost got to pet the calm deer. Overall a fantastic experience.

A beautiful outdoor space with great and well-maintained walking trails. We saw deer right off the trail and so many amazing birds. We spent about an hour here and could’ve spent another hour on the trails! Nicely shaded by trees, as well, so it was great for a hot day.

What an excellent gem of a place hiding in the middle of Wichita. If you were looking to get semi lost in nature, this Is the place for you. There are parts of the park that make you forget that this is in the middle of a small city. The trails are well maintained, but there could be more / better Trail markers. My only wish Is that the trails are a bit longer but taking a couple loops more than satiates one's need for some physical activity. The tunnel of trees is absolutely amazing!
Warren S — Google review
Beautiful walking trails and boardwalks through light plains and wooded areas with ponds. Lovely on low crowd days but can get busy during some weekend events and sunset hour. Be advised that no dogs are allowed- Service Dogs only- and park attendants WILL ask you to leave if they notice you bringing a pet in.
Courtney C — Google review
Wonderful park with walking trails where you can enjoy a variety of water and mixed plains/woodland scenery. Good for exercise or relaxation and some fresh air. I come here frequently and enjoy the opportunity for birdwatching especially. My only complaint about this park is that proximity to a busy highway makes the northern side of the park (on the other side of a central creek and wooded barrier) so noise polluted that I find walking in this part is not relaxing at all. I end up avoiding half the park completely due to city noise pollution. Otherwise the scenery is really beautiful and I appreciate that there are always open public restrooms. Just makes me sad these days how manmade noise encroaches on our opportunities to try to feel at peace in nature.

The Mid-America All-Indian Museum, situated in downtown Wichita along the Arkansas River, offers an immersive experience for visitors interested in learning about Native American culture and history. The museum features a diverse collection of tribal artifacts and interactive exhibits showcasing various aspects of indigenous life. Visitors can also witness the striking 44-foot metal sculpture, Keeper of the Plains, at the convergence of Big and Little Arkansas rivers.
Wow!!! What a hidden cultural gem! It IS actually a little hidden too, we drove right past them on the first try. Well worth the u-turn. Rich in Wichita heritage and stories. There were so many beautiful pieces to see, painting, jewelry, stories, music Mid- America All- Indian Museum has it all. Amazing staff eager to help and answer any questions we had. My kids didn't want to leave!!

Honestly, this is pretty much an art museum and mostly about the artist who created the Keeper of the Plains statue, Blackbear Bosin. I found it very interesting and well curated. Maybe advertise it for what it is…an art museum about Blackbear. What a great body of work!

Spent several hours here. Enjoyed it immensely. There was a flower show. Great learning experience. Taught the importance of insects in our life.

There is free parking at the entrance of the museum. This museum uses information boards to provide information regarding the norms and values of the indigenous tribes. You will also find works of art by some of their artists. There is a tepee outside with explanations, but the site was closed due to vandalism.

I really enjoyed visiting the Mid-America All Indian Museum. They have several works of art by BlackBear Boston. Very beautiful and masterly designed works. Many of the works are truly mesmerizing and some are massive feats of artistic skill. Most of the gallery is solely dedicated to his work and life, which is understandable since he designed The Keeper of the Plains, just outside the museum. But there was a smaller section for another Native American artist, whose works were just as remarkable. There are exhibits explaining different aspects of Native culture Along with this they do have some general Native American instruments you can get your hands on and examine up close. My only complaint would be that I wanted more. You can probably stretch your visit to about 45mins if you read every sign to completion. But overall the gallery is small, about 1/8th of the size, compared to something like The Wichita Art Museum or the Museum of World Treasures. What they have is great, but I want more exhibits, I want more info on Native culture, and more works by more than just 2 Native artists, and some history of notable Native people. I'm aware they have events, which is very cool, but I would like more added for an average visit.

We visited on March 19th, 2023, which was a sunday. The museum is not typically open on Sundays, but the Cherokee Nation had their At-Large annual meeting. It was crowded, and difficult to find parking right at the Museum, but there are several parking areas nearby within walking distance. Look for parking areas on either side of the confluence of rivers near the foot bridge. It was free to enter for this event, but normally tickets are $7 for adults.

On our field trip we were given the opportunity to make some noise with drums and shakers. We were read a story, discussed Black Bear Bosin, and were able to touch bison hide, see beadwork try our hand at games, and more. Thank you to the wonderful ladies who educated our students today.

Mid America All Indian Museum Seneca Kansas: For a very minimal charge you can spend hours in this museum and walk the grounds learning about the Native American ways and art. The pieces you will see here are just specular ranging from paintings, clay work, artifacts, to weaving and everything in between. There are even drums to play, pelts to feel and a teepee the little ones can go in, all inside the building. Along with all the art you can enjoy checking out a very tall friendship totem pole that's in a large conference type room which also includes some other larger items and history. When you're done inside you are encouraged to wonder the outside grounds and enter a full sized teepee to see what life would be like back then. Surrounding the teepee are examples of other things used and grown. They help support the museum with the sale of hand crafted jewelry and other collectible items if you are so inclined. This museum is well worth the time you will spend and you may learn something of a beautiful people you didn't know.

5 stars is not enough - I need to buy more stars! What an amazing experience! We were able to interact with so many animals with just the basic tickets and was far beyond expectations. The staff is so knowledgeable about the animals and you can tell the animals love them. The food was great and the park is so clean and organized. The day went by so quickly - we were like Mars - we weren't ready to leave! Thank you TWP - it was such a memorable experience and we cannot wait to come back!

I cannot stress how amazing of an experience this was! We came to Kansas all the way from Utah and it was worth every penny. I see reviews of people gawking at the price, but honestly, if you include everything you get to do (like the animal feedings, animal encounters) plus breakfast, lunch, and unlimited snacks??? Totally worth the price. I wouldn’t compare this to a normal zoo. It stood out so much more and is smaller than some of the larger zoos. But so many of the animals I saw were some I’ve never seen at zoos!! We obviously were obsessed with sweet Mars, love loved the mandrills. We watched them for hours. The tortoise was such a kind soul and let us scratch his neck for a long time. The staff is so kind and knowledgeable. 10/10 experience. I’d love to come back again if we’re able. Such a wonderful and unforgettable day!

Absolutely amazing facility (coming from another zookeeper here!) Yes, $150 sounds like a lot…but it is ABSOLUTELY worth it for the amount of stuff you get included. I would say for the grab and go snacks, a mini fridge with fruits or veggies would be a nice addition. However… the cookies are delish. It is glaringly obvious that this facility deeply cares for the animals wellbeing and gives them choices and respects when the animal says no. Enclosure are LARGES and kept very clean and natural looking. While a lot of encounters are being offered, these animals have multiples opportunities to or to not engage with the public and are not forced to do anything they don’t want to do. After talking with a keeper, I learned that there are lots of animals behind the scenes because they don’t like to be in the public eye (cheetah and snow leopard breeding facilities) The staff are extremely knowledgeable and passionate for what they do and that goes a long way when attending these private encounters. They generally have 2 keepers in an encounter, one to train the animal and focus only on their behavior. The other keeper to educate the guests, answer questions etc. One last bit of advice (besides healthy snacks) is more shade is needed in the area you stand during hippo encounter! But I love my Posie nose print❤️
Madison C — Google review
I traveled to Tanganyika from Ohio after reading about all of the different unique encounter experiences. I planned an Ultimate Weekend (plus) with Rachel, who was so helpful and resourceful. I ended up needing a reschedule, which was straightforward and easy to do. Once I set foot in the park, everything was easy. Check-in was a breeze. Finding my way around the park was super easy. Staff in the VIP room were so kind and helpful. My encounter experiences were mainly with some combination of Taylor, Lexie and Caelin, but I was also with Kaitlyn, Kiana, Stacey (I think), Cassie, Gage, and Phoebe - and they were all amazing. Super knowledgeable, obviously love their work and the animals they work with, genuinely want to ensure their guests have a good experience, and mindful of any guest needs. I’m still a bit overwhelmed with all that I got to experience, but I know that I will never have three days like this again. To be so close to so many beautiful animals, working with them, feeding them, or even just observing - Tanganyika is not a zoo. It’s an experience park unlike any other. The way they intertwine guest experience with conservation and species survival and breeding programs is really remarkable, and I look forward to seeing their work expand and grow.

My kid liked it more than Disney World (her words) and our family had such a great experience during our day there. The staff were all welcoming, knowledgeable, and genuinely funny. The fact that it is all inclusive makes it easy to relax and enjoy everything on offer instead of keeping track of individual expenses. Highlights for us were Lemur Island and our sloth experience with Chewbacca and Molasses (shout out to Jolene the resident armadillo). It's an easy day trip from Tulsa and worth every penny.

Wow ……. I have no words. Me and my boyfriend Hudson (who is also writing a review) came all the way from Dallas he surprised me with a trip and we were not disappointed at all!!! This has been THE. BEST. TIME. EVER !!!! If you love animals and if you love nature, you WILL absolutely fall in LOVE with the Tanganyika Wildlife park. The keepers care so deeply about the animals. It’s very personable and they make you feel like you are the only one there. They are genuinely really sweet and caring people with very easy-going attitudes and have a love for wildlife. They truly love their jobs and it shows. The prices are amazing. Please search for discounts if you want!!! We upgraded my day pass for 6 drinks instead of one for just ME. He got 4 free drinks. Don’t even get me started about the burgers for lunch and the fries 🍟!! Omg the fries are so yummy!!! 😋 I added mayo to my burger and the Pulled Pork Sandwich was to die for !!!!! I loved every animal and they respected the animals so much I loved that!!! If you have ever been to a Zoo do not expect the same thing!!! These animals truly love their lives and are clearly thriving where they live, which is here at Tanganyika Wildlife park. The Gift Shop has beautiful gifts. He got me the handmade giraffe wallet and many bracelets. It’s honestly such a perfect little getaway. You will not regret coming here. We walked the ENTIRE park. I want to thank every single person who made this experience the very best. I love all of yall!!!!! 💖💖💖💖💖💖 Until next time Kansas 💖💖💖💖💖💖 the photos I’ve posted aren’t even close to what you will see for yourself !!!!! My phone died lol!!!

What a wonderful park! All of the staff were fantastic and really cared that guests had fun, while learning about the animals in their care. The canteen staff worked endlessly to keep up with the crowds. I came for Mars, but walked away with so many other delightful encounters! I only wish that I had scheduled two days, instead of one. Highly recommend!

My daughter and I made an 11-hour drive just to visit Tanganyika Wildlife Park—and it was so worth it! We came specifically for the pygmy hippo experience and to meet Mars, which was my daughter’s absolute dream come true. That experience alone was amazing, but what really stole my heart were the Rhinos! I don’t think the Rhino encounter gets nearly enough attention—they are such incredible animals with the best personalities. Getting up close with them and learning about their lives was unforgettable.Dwight stole my heart!! A huge shoutout to Taylor, our guide, who made the whole experience even more special. She was knowledgeable, friendly, and clearly passionate about the animals and their care. Tanganyika Wildlife Park truly exceeded all our expectations. If you’re considering making the trip—do it! Whether it’s for the hippos, rhinos, or any of their other amazing animals, you’ll leave with memories that last a lifetime.

Additionally, guests can visit the Gilded Garage Gift Shop which features various Frank Lloyd Wright designs and books about him.
We had the best tour guide! He gave us a thoroughly interesting tour. I'm so glad my son and I stopped there on our cross-country trip. It got us excited about seeing more of FLW's houses in the future. PS: They had a super gift shop, too!.

Our visit to Frank Lloyd Wright’s Allen House in Wichita was an absolute delight. The architecture itself is stunning — every line, angle, and detail feels purposeful, yet inviting. What really made the experience special, though, was our guide, Burt. His enthusiasm, humor, and deep knowledge of Wright’s life and philosophy brought the home to life. He balanced architectural insight with personal stories that made the tour engaging for everyone, from design enthusiasts to casual visitors. If you’re in Wichita, don’t miss this gem — and hope you get Burt as your guide!

We took the basic tour and still spent an hour and a half walking through the house with the docent. She was very pleasant and very knwledgeable. Be forewarned that you will likely have to purchase tickets in advance. They sell out early, and you will not be able to show up and get on a tour righ taway.

There is free parking at the house. You can only visit the house with a guide. If you want to take photos of the interior, you will have to book the Grand Tour. This tour is limited to eight people. We arranged our visit via email and paid on site on the day. The guided tour lasts between two and three hours depending on the interaction of the participants. We received a very detailed explanation from Martha about the owners, the architect, the house and the works of art.

The museum was nice and nalstolgic and had fun things to to they had a old time pay phone that works if you dial any number but its a dime to use it and they also had a type writer that worked and you could try it you could also send the letter to someone. The museum was in an era it had all the history of Wichita and its airport factories. To me, my favorite part was the 1920s and the Victorian era. I would recommend coming here.

Well- worth one's time! This gem of a local museum dedicated to the history of the Wichita and its environs in Sedgwick County is well worth the effort to explore. The volunteer staff is friendly, intelligent, and helpful, the museum store is ideal with many small gifts to select from, and the parking is easy on a weekend (I went on a Sunday afternoon when the downtown area was largely uninhabited.) As another reviewer commented, the museum is definitely geared toward adults, and I concur. However, children might be engaged for an hour or so exploring the classically restored building and viewing items from previous generations. The building has been magnificently restored to its original stately bearing, which in and of itself makes a visit worth one's time and effort. Don't forget to leave a donation if you can as this non-profit museum is well worth preserving for future generations.

What a hidden gem in the heart of Wichita! The Wichita-Sedgwick County Historical Museum is not only breathtaking from the outside its architecture feels like stepping into a fairy tale but it's also full of rich, fascinating history inside. Nestled in the vibrant Old Town area of Wichita, Kansas, the Great Plains Transportation Museum is a treasure trove for train enthusiasts and history buffs alike. This charming museum is dedicated to celebrating the rich rail heritage of the Great Plains region. Visitors can marvel at an impressive collection of locomotives and rail cars while immersing themselves in fascinating memorabilia that tells the story of railroading's impact on local culture.
Neat train museum for those who are already interested in trains. The volunteer staff is very outgoing and knowledgeable. The facilities are in good repair. It’s possible to climb on or up into several engines and cabooses - which is neat! There are stairs required to access the roof level decking/bridge with machines. It’s not stroller friendly, and I didn’t notice an elevator in the historic old building. It might be possible to access the roof/bridge area from across the street parking garage - but I’m not sure. There’s some souvenirs and a free train magazine on your way out.
Bethany H — Google review
The people at the museum have a wealth of knowledge. It's great to be able to get in some of the trains and i love that there are some young people volunteering at the museum!
David B — Google review
The museum isn't very big, but very well done. The staff was exceptional, most friendly, but not over the top if you know what I mean. Lots of great information on Kansas rail history and artifacts in the well organized indoor section of the museum. Beautiful railroad artwork was everywhere. The outside collection is parallel to a busy BNSF mainline. Separated by fence, so no fear of little ones getting in danger. The mainline gives interesting contrast to the vintage iron at the museum. There was much preservation activity going on at the museum. Painting and other work on the rolling stock. It was clean and well organized. One could enter some of the equipment on display. There were also a couple of neat old trucks outside. With what I observed during my visit, the Central Plains Transportation Museum appears to be doing a fine job of preserving Ks rail history. I, for one, am excited to see this organization grow and what they will accomplish in the coming years.

This museum was so neat! There are several train cars you can go into, including at least 3 caboose cars. The gentleman who accompanied us on our tour was a wealth of knowledge. The interior museum is small but worth looking at as well. It's a fun place for kiddos. They got to ring the bell and check out a few of the train cars up close and personal. Access to the museum is not accessible for wheelchair, strollers, or the like. We carried the stroller up a decent amount of stairs. I'm not sure I would recommend bringing a stroller. Pricing is a bit higher side for what you get.

I have been a Wichita resident all my life (a crisp 24 years now) and I'd always seen this museum, ATSF 3768 and the Santa Fe diesel on the Douglas St. Bridge. I'd only been to this museum once in memory. Recently, I went back this last week. The museum has a host of different engines and cars in display on the viaduct. Almost every engine has an open cab to explore. There's also an array of rail equipment to look over and learn about. The interior of the museum has a miniature display of Wichita in the late 1800's as well as diagrams and artifacts from other railroads. What I can say is this little museum is heavily underrated and deserves more attention. Tickets are only 8 dollars for adults. It is nice to see younger faces volunteering to run the place. We can't let this place fall. It is one of the forgotten icons of Wichita. Please donate to help restore Santa Fe #93.

We absolutely had the best experience. The staff led us through the museum with excellent narratives and commentary. They had backgrounds and experiences with the trains. Wow, what a great time. If you ever get a chance, please go.

Great museum. Staff are very friendly. Most of their railroad equipment is open to walk into. Indoor display is also very cool. Trains pass by very often. Would totally recommend to anyone nearby.

I can’t recommend this place enough!! We came all way the from Dallas for work and we lucky enough to get a day enough. We found this train museum and had a BLAST!! My 2 1/2 yr old had the time of his life and my heart was so happy. It was just my little family of 3 the whole time! Definitely visit here!!

Nestled on the campus of Wichita State University, The Original Pizza Hut Museum is a delightful tribute to the origins of one of the world's most beloved pizza chains. Established in 1958 by brothers Dan and Frank Carney, this museum showcases the story behind their groundbreaking venture that started as a small restaurant in Wichita. Visitors can immerse themselves in the rich history of Pizza Hut, exploring fascinating memorabilia from its early days and celebrating its evolution into a global phenomenon.
Very cool to see the original Pizza hut building. It’s truly just a hut but there’s some cool artifacts inside. It’s on the campus of Wichita State University. It’s free along with parking and you can spend a good half hour to hour here. Definitely worth the stop and had us craving Pizza Hut!

It’s crazy how small this store is and or was!! It’s located at Wichita state university, it says it was open but there was no one in there or I couldn’t get in. It’s so small you can see everything thru the windows. Pretty neat to see the history of such a huge company today and where they started.
RANDY M — Google review
This is place of pilgrimage for alm the pizza lovers and Pizza Hut fans. Its a small museum within the WSU campus. Nothing outlandish but definitely has some history and nostalgia. We loved visiting this place
Biswanath D — Google review
Cute little place and it's free. I recommend watching/listening to the videos.
Valerie B — Google review
This is a small building, but there is lots of neat information about the brothers that started a pizza revolution! Definitely check it out if you're in Wichita.
Amanda C — Google review
Quaint, nostalgic, informational, and free. If you're a Hut fan and in the neighborhood it's worth the detour. You won't spend a lot of time there (it's literally one room). Only downside: no merch! We would've paid good money for Book It! shirts.
Angela H — Google review
We showed up at 4 on a Wednesday and it was closed. 2 other people were there, and they had tried to call the number, but no one answered. You could see some of the stuff through the windows. Parking is confusing since it's mostly school parking and says you need to have a permit. It's small, and I can't imagine that you'd spend more than 30 minutes inside but I'm not sure.
Dani D — Google review
One room brick building which was moved form its original location and is now on Wichita State University campus. Open to the public. Museum inside includes Pizza Hut memorabilia, nostalgic restaurant table and chandelier, and info plaques. Worth stopping by even if it's closed or after hours since you can see a lot of it through the windows.

The Ulrich Museum of Art, located on the grounds of Wichita State University, is a renowned contemporary and modern art museum in Kansas. Established in 1974, it boasts an extensive collection that includes over 300 items donated by Edwin A. Ulrich. The permanent collection features works by prominent artists such as Diane Arbus, Sol LeWitt, Joan Miro, and Emil Nolde.
Despite being an Alum from Wichita State and taking art classes in this building, I’ve only gotten to experience the museum once… 25 minutes before close and I was still blown away by the exhibits! Definitely take your time going through to explore the artwork and talent of each artist.
Kynnedy M — Google review
Last night I participated in Ulrich’s Art Dive. A great time was had by all. After making art together, we enjoyed gallery talks about two of their major exhibits — Abhidnya Ghuge and Justin Favela. Ghuge’s piece was a large, undulating chicken-wired form filled with paper plates that Ghuge dyed and printed with designs. Favela filled his room with piñatas depicting his life. Afterwards, we went to Kirby’s and discussed life as art students and the art we had just experienced. The next dive is October 30, 2025. Go see these shows. They’re incredible. The Ulrich is free and open late on Thursdays. Bring the kids.

Small venue but full of art!! Friendly staff. Located on the beautiful campus of Wichita State. The building is accessible, well lit, and has elevator. The parking can be challenging or short walk. The building has varied exhibits. I will visit again.

Ulrich Museum is a great place for all art lovers and those seeking inspiration. The museum offers great shows, but also diverse and rich programs. It’s free and open to public. Once you are there, make sure you have time to discover their sculpture outdoor collection which will lead you through the whole campus!
Eva G — Google review
It has an excellent infrastructure. I liked the museum, however, they should include more works or more exhibitions.
Maleja R — Google review
Not what I expected. The Ulrich is a small museum and there's no permanent collection. There is, however, a good outdoor sculpture collection located throughout the Wichita State University campus. The outdoor sculpture collection is surprisingly good. But indoors, the Ulrich is small and the art is underwhelming.

Situated in downtown Wichita, The Kansas African American Museum (TKAAM) showcases regional arts and cultural artifacts that reflect African American life and heritage. Housed in the former Calvary Baptist Church building, it was established by the First National Black Historical Society to preserve Wichita's Black heritage. Nearby attractions include the Great Plains Transportation Museum, featuring railroad equipment and locomotives, as well as the Museum of World Treasures in Old Town.
This was my first visit to this Jim of a museum for African American history in Wichita Kansas. It started off as being very welcoming. We had gone as a family we had a stroller as well so we were able to maneuver most of the museum with the stroller we did have to take my grandson out just to go upstairs. We also were met by the director who was very knowledgeable about the African-American plight in Wichita Kansas and surrounding areas. There were also areas for children to color there's children's books adult reading material books at on the history of the museum as well there's areas where you can make bracelets it's very interactive. I recommend anyone who is into the history of Wichita and the surrounding areas of African-American history to make sure that this makes it on your list of go visit.

The museum had plenty of interesting exhibits to look at, especially the Black community of Wichita. However, the inside of the museum felt more like an early 20th-century home than a typical museum. I hope to visit again once the new building opens in the near future.
Travis T — Google review
Thanks to the friendly staff who welcomed me and gave me simple guidance on how to approach the museum and its rich gifts of Wichita history, Kansas history, American History - the history of the work of human dignity among the black people of Wichita and the world. To stand upstairs and look down into the sacred space with the sunlight filtered through the stained glass is to experience a particular kind of peacefulness. Breath deeply there and maybe close your eyes and hum the opening notes of your favorite hymn. Shane, thanks for shaking my hand and introducing yourself. Good luck and blessings on your expansion in the new location. - jon

I enjoyed my experience at TKAAM! I loved that it was located in a historical building built by the hands of African American community members. The staff was very knowledgeable and helped to fill in some knowledge gaps I had. Their presence in providing information and fostering thought-provoking conversations made for a very fruitful experience. I visit African American museums across the nation, and this one was one of my favorites.

TKAAM is currently housed in Historic Calvary Baptist Church in downtown Wichita Kansas. The main gallery exhibit "Holler If You See Me: Black Appalachia" features the works of Shai Perry. On display May 18-September 30. The Kansas African American Museum takes you on a journey from Africa to Kansas with artifacts and art of the African Diaspora

The museum is actually an old african american church from the 1800s! (So exciting!). There were plenty of beautiful stained glass windows and african artifacts. I'm glad I went, the museum is small but nice. The admissions fee was only $6!!

Lots of art and artifacts from a range of time periods, friendly and knowledgeable staff, and educational activities for kids. TKAAM also validates parking if you park in the garage across the street!

Additionally, the complex includes a smaller theater, exhibit spaces, and meeting rooms for various activities. It is also home to the Wichita Symphony Orchestra and Music Theater of Wichita.
Bought season tickets and just watched Waitress and it was absolutely amazing!! Jenna the character was so good and her voice gave me goosebumps multiple times! If you want to keep it local and experience a Broadway theatre experience, you must become ticketholders! Its so worth it!
Jana H — Google review
The Center was clean, plenty of restrooms/stalls, helpful staff, and a semi-decent selection for snacks and drinks. My only negative thing is there is no center aisle. So when you are selecting seats and see seats 1 & 2 next to an aisle, know it is not. Seats 100 and something is right next to you, so if you have a smaller bladder select seats on the wings/outer edges.

The Lego/Brick convention was awesome. However, having the pride convention at the same time was stressful to have grown adults screaming profanity at each other while family’s with children are trying to locate the Brick/Lego hall. There could have been better signage.

Went to the shop and grub thing. Had some carnitas corn tacos.... So freaking delicious.... I want more so bad, I forgot the hot sauce though... But it was hit and hit sauce and heat don't mix with lol so I didn't. I don't go to these often because I don't know about it or I just can't go. But I went with my mom, it was fun and we had a great time, great food, so many food trucks, many vender's I got a couple cards so I can get some things, I should of gotten a card from all of them but I didn't. If you don't see one just ask if they have a card so you can support their business on another time.

Nestled in the heart of Wichita, the Wichita Toy Train Club & Museum is a delightful haven for train enthusiasts and families alike. Founded by passionate collectors, this charming venue showcases an impressive array of model trains and collectibles across meticulously crafted layouts that span over 50 feet. Visitors can immerse themselves in a whimsical world filled with intricate scenes that evoke nostalgia and wonder. The museum operates on select weekends, offering a unique opportunity to explore its captivating displays while engaging with friendly staff who share their love for trains.
We decided to choose the museum for our son’s 3rd birthday because we had seen a flyer regarding birthdays at another museum. The first thing I would like to say is that the staff at the museum were outstanding! You could tell that everyone wanted to be there. The next thing I would like to say is that the value for what you pay for to use their space is generous. We had a private room for 30 people, access to the museum for all of our guests, dinnerware was included, decorations, tables and chairs were all setup for us, and our kiddo got to get a whistle, shirt, or hat at no extra expense to us. I had never heard of this place until we found their flyer, and none of our birthday guests had heard of it before either. I really hope that the word about this awesome place is getting around outside of my social circles because it is an amazing spot. Thanks for everything you did today to make my son’s birthday special!

I took my son who enjoys trains and making models. He loved it, so if you enjoy model railroads, you’ll probably enjoy this place! I, however, have a limited attention span for this hobby, and I had “seen it all” in five minutes. The bathrooms were clean. It seems like a place for locals to work on projects together. I think of my 7 person family, 4 of us would Have lasted 5 min, and the others half an hour. It’s not a must-see when going to Wichita - unless this is your particular hobby!

My top three to visit in Wichita! A beautiful place that exhibits prime example of model railroading in the United States. Representing the N the HO, S, O, and even one example of the G rail sizes of small toy railroads in America. For any Enthusiast in Miniatures, or anyone who is a child at heart, this is a place to see three rooms and four massive layouts. Hands-On exhibits for children. You have to see this place!

This place is AWESOME! My family went when they collaborated with the Transportation museum. My 2.5 year old LOVED it!!! The train displays are enormous and my son had so much fun watching everything. There are also areas for kids that are more interactive. It really is just one of the coolest places I have taken my tinybtrain enthusiast. Well worth the money and you can easily spend hours there. Can't wait till my sons next birthday so we can have it here! There was also a young man in a room with a train set that I guess gives them alot of trouble. I was having sensory issues and kinda went in there to hide. He was a DELIGHT to talk to. Told me stories about the history of Thomas the Train. As well as showed me some other animations of trains for my son. It was wonderful listening to how much he enjoys this hobby. I hope if this continues to be a love of my sons he enjoys it as much as that young man does. Edit: Just realized I never edited my review after we had my sons birthday here. It was almost 2 years ago but it was an amazing choice. If I recall it was $100-$150. You get access to the birthday room. Which they decorate and provide cutlery and such. There is a model train set up there for the kids as well as a play area. Then of course they have access to all the model train sets in the building. If I remember right you get the room for like 2 hours. It was SO worth the price. You you are looking for a great place to hold a birthday party for your Jr. Conductor. Tnis is the place

Field Station: Dinosaurs is a thrilling prehistoric adventure located in Derby, Kansas, just south of Wichita. This expansive theme park boasts over 40 life-sized animatronic dinosaurs that move realistically. Visitors can enjoy walking trails alongside these majestic creatures, live shows, games, and activities led by knowledgeable expedition guides. The park also features unique attractions such as the Raptor Maze and an 18-hole miniature golf course known as Jurassic Golf.
We always love this place! It is on the sunflower summer app if you are a Kansas resident with kids. We went to see the dinosaurs and it got really hot. They offered to let us come back later that day to finish up our golfing. They had fun events that the kids could complete and get stamps for their "credentials". After they received all their credentials they got to be announced as "super paleontologists!" My nieces loved it! The staff was very helpful and helped with the excitement of the events. We especially liked the girl that led the Dino origami. She did a great job!

What a great place for kids who are in the dinosaur stage. Amazing animotronics, lots of activities, and space to explore. The show is lots of fun. The guides are great with kids. If you've never been there, I urge you to put it on your summer list of things to do.

Fantastic little walking adventure!!! My Service Dog had a great time and was wowed by how realistic the sound effects are. How the each of the dinos move is so cool! We enjoyed the fact signs for each one and the raptor maze was short but sweet. We are looking forward to going back for the mini golf!
Courtney C — Google review
It was very hard to navigate with wheelchairs. The paths were flooded the night before and nearly impossible to roll through. The exhibits were definitely not accessible enough to get to all of them. We were able to make it to a few and enjoyed the little we did see.
Shannon L — Google review
I had driven by this location a few times and saw some giant dinosaur heads sticking up over the hill, so I finally had some time to stop and I am so glad I did! This little park is full of life size dinosaus!! It is so obvious that the creators of this park share a passion for bringing wonders to children and giving them hands-on learning. You wind through native prairie grasses and plants that have been specifically selected to bring back original ecosystems, which adds so much substance when trying to imagine when these giants roamed the earth. There is a maze, and a "dig area," and live educational shows throughout the day. And mini-golf!
Deirdre G — Google review
Field station was excellent! I really enjoyed the experience with my daughter and her summer camp class. The setting was great, I love how the park kept the native shrubs and grasses that gave it a great landscape and, in my opinion added to the experience. The staff were great with kids and performed a couple of very cute skits. Warren did a great job! Each dinosaur offered some information on where it was discovered and was very interesting. I wish they had just a little more literature about these dinosaurs for older kids and adults. The gift shop was limited on toys but the prices were decent!
Tyson O — Google review
Grandson was excited for the T Rex. Not sure if this one was shot in the forehead or if it's growing a unicorn horn? For goodness sake at 15 dollars a ticket get some tan duct tape and push the foam back in at a minimum. Several of the dinosaurs were like this. Super disappointed...
Bill M — Google review
We loved the Field station. The excitement began once you see the dinosaurs from the street. Let alone in person. The staff was friendly and polite, and also very knowledgeable. I have a family of 5, 2 adults and 3 children. Two of the kids are school-age. She asked if we had Sunflower Summer on our phones. Each parent could claim a school-age child and the whole family would get in free, the baby was free. We spent over an hour. We walked the Raptor maze. It was okay. But I blame that on Hollywood leading me to believe this Ford range-size dinosaur is going to jump out of the middle of nowhere and make a snack out of me. If you have kids and want to get all of the stamps (6) to be a super Paleontologist. You have to go to a class (1) and feed (1) under the canopy there a few minutes long. Basic knowledge questions. Then go to the snack sack and you'll get (4.) My family didn't do the golf portion because there were so many people. We will return

The Orpheum Theatre in Wichita has been a cultural landmark since 1923, known for hosting a variety of events including family-friendly concerts, live performances, classic films, and special events. As America's first atmospheric theatre still standing, it offers excellent seating and an intimate setting for visitors of all ages. With its rich history and stunning architecture, the venue plays a vibrant role in the city's cultural scene.
Can’t help but wonder how many events and memories were made in this iconic and historical 100-year old venue. Lots of great artwork and architecture around the building that make the atmosphere special. A must visit for anyone who can find an event that they’ll enjoy! Can’t wait to see the upcoming renovations. Staff were very friendly and inviting. An usher offered me a closer seat due to open seating! I believe there are no elevators to the upstairs seating, and all staircases are very steep! There are railings of course, but some staircases are 15-20 steps. The floors are marble, so they can be slippery. If stairs are a problem, I would highly recommend first floor seating. The stairs heading to the upper level can be difficult to those attending.

Always a fun evening going to the Orpheum! Love the anniversary movie series that I see monthly, but tonight is ABBA. The first time I've been seated in the upper section of the theater. The seats are fairly close together up here and still pretty uncomfortable, but it's part of the historic charm. Very excited for the renovation later this year and can't wait to see what the 2nd century has for the Orpheum theater.

Thank you for the exquisite show.

This is a cool old theater. My friends and I went to see the midsummer night's dream ballet. The building is definitely beautiful. It's in need of some repairs but it's a piece of history and should be valued. Anywhere you sit in the theater the seats are great. I would highly recommend seeing a show here. There's also some good restaurants nearby and if you're into antiquing, there's a few right around the corner.

Lovely theatre!!! Very ornate and classy. Was a wonderful talent performing live and great sound system/acoustics. Even the restrooms were elegant!

Attended the World Premiere of God Save the Wings. Historic theatre to relive the history of Wichita Wings Professional Soccer. I almost didn't go for fear of trying to park & walk in downtown Wichita. We found a spot just few blocks away. Then a short, brisk walk & we were there. No long lines. Because it was a middle age, mature crowd we needed better lighting & signage to know where to go. Saw 3 different people tumble down the stairs, poor lighting. Immediately those around the person helped out. I wouldn't mind a brief education on The Orpheum Theatre before any show or event. Get customers interested in the ongoing preservation of the bldg. I didn't realize the scope of events, shows @ the Orpheum. Eager to return, highly recommend to others.

Nestled along the serene banks of the Arkansas River, Veterans Memorial Park is a poignant tribute to those who have served in the U.S. military. This beautiful green space features an impressive collection of 21 memorials that honor veterans from various conflicts, including World War II, the Revolutionary War, and more recent engagements. As you stroll along its walking trails, you'll encounter monuments dedicated to Purple Heart recipients and Gold Star mothers, each telling a unique story of sacrifice and bravery.
Such a beautiful place to be! I've been here several times and loved it every time!

Excellently kept and manicured. Seems like a beautiful space for veterans to find peace.

Attended the nightly burn at 9 pm and had a great time. It was a little chilly so the heat from the burn was much appreciated. I parked by the Exploration Center parking lot and walked up to the bridge. The area seemed safe with bright light stations illuminating the parking lot area and police presence both on SUVs and bikes. Safe family friendly event.

I liked it and I read so many things about it. I wasn't as enthusiastic as I hoped I would be mainly because there weren't many people there and they didn't sell any souvenirs at any stores of the statue. Glad I got the opportunity to see this once.

A good place to visit. One of the few places where you can see all of the conflicts represented. A must see if you are in the area.

Wonderful memorial to honor war veterans. It’s been well thought out and beautiful designed. I very impressed by this outdoor memorial. It’s located along the riverfront and a lovely tribute to those who’ve fought for our country. The memorial spans quite far and it’s easy to miss the tributes / monuments, since there are no clear pathways on to the next site. Each tribute tells the story documenting the journey of the war. I am especially fascinated by the monuments regarding the Korean War, which shows a map with dates in which our US troops entered the city country (it’s on the back side of the Korean War memorial). The only suggestion I’d make is to put up a directory / map of the entire memorial, or somehow more clearly define the path. Other than that, well done! And thank you to all the veterans out there for your service!!
Sheena Y — Google review
I wish I could give more stars as the intention of the memorial park is one of honor and respect; however, the homeless population and substance abuse is an issue here. The park is not safe for others due to crime and shootings in and around the area. The darker it gets the worse it gets. Its better in the colder months than the warmer months. Sad thing is the Wichita PD is less than a block away yet this is an unsafe area.

The B-29 Doc Hangar, Education & Visitors Center in Wichita is a must-visit attraction for aviation enthusiasts and history buffs alike. This unique center is home to the restored B-29 Superfortress "Doc," one of only two airworthy planes of its kind left in the world. The 42,000 sq. ft. facility at Eisenhower National Airport offers an interactive experience for visitors of all ages, providing a fascinating look into aviation history.
Really informative and a beautiful aircraft. One of only 2 remaining B29 aircraft still flying. Worth a visit. Knowledgeable people there to give you a tour and answer your questions
Mark F — Google review
I very much enjoyed visiting Doc. The volunteers had a lot of information and when they didn’t know an answer they went and hunted down someone who did. Getting into cockpit was great. The hanger does get humid and warm during summer so keep that in mind when visiting. The memorabilia is a little on the expensive side but I really do enjoy their shirts.
Benjamin H — Google review
One of the most impactful museums in the country related to Aviation and military. Showcasing the extraordinary might of the United States production powerhouse in the 1940s that made the creation of so many complicated and enormous for the time aircraft. The incredibly beautiful restoration of Doc itself is a sight to behold. The phenomenal volunteers and donors behind the movement who value history and this war changing aircraft are the heart of America. There are only two functional B-29 aircraft left in the world, the people of this museum fight against difficult odds to keep Doc in the air and work diligently so generations may continue to see history in real life.

Taking the flight on their amazingly well taken care of b29 is an amazing experience ill never forget the crew is very nice and knowledgeable and the experience is well worth more than what they charge! Would highly recommend to any aviation or ww2 history enjoyers!!! (I recommend the master gunner seat for the best views)

An absolute experience of a lifetime. Everyone involved with DOC shows such passion and enthusiasm into bringing history to life. The flight crew and ground crew run a truly professional operation, with safety as their primary focus. The world would be a better place if we could all experience a flight on such an incredible aircraft. Look forward to seeing Doc grace the skies over Canada one day perhaps :)

American restaurant
Breakfast restaurant
Doo-Dah Diner, established in 2012 by a local husband-and-wife team, offers a cozy and welcoming atmosphere along with a menu of delicious Kansas-inspired dishes. This neighborhood eatery serves up classic American breakfast and lunch options made from scratch. From crispy corn beef hash to chicken fried steak and eggs for breakfast, as well as the outside-in burger and fried bologna sandwich for lunch, there's something to satisfy every craving.
This place gives off good vibes with a focus on paired flavor in everything I tried. Derek is an excellent server who has passion for his work and you can hear and see it in his smile and upbeat attitude. The interior of this place is bright and gives off a loving home vibe. Our food was excellent. I have forgotten the names but my wife was a combo omelet and pancake with a jazzy name, and mine was a turkey sandwich. I feel that the quality of food was top notch and the flavors were superb. I wouldn't hesitate to go here again. I can see why this is such a coveted Wichita favorite.

The food was really good. We got the triple D because we wanted to try all the different food options. My wife added aside of biscuits and gravy, and it looked amazing. Overall, the staff was super quick to fix any mistakes and was very apologetic. The wait wasn’t even that long and it was super packed and busy. That banana nut bread French toast is absolutely as good as described, so good that I ordered a to go order for tomorrow. The eggs Benedict was out of this world and the corn hash, well I don’t normally like it. Was absolutely phenomenal. Overall my wife and I had a good experience, and we will be back.

Seated at the counter is the best seat in the house. It is a show of food and a staff that delivers! Within minutes I had several staff greeting me. Rebecca brought me monkey bread while I watched the show. The special for breakfast was steak Benedict. OMG it looked so delicious. Jess showed me a plate she was serving up. I watched the show to decide what I would order. Burgundy was my server. After seeing the hash browns I knew I wanted them. I also ordered an omelet with dill havarti cheese, bacon, sausage and mushrooms. Yummy! For a up charge instead of toast I had a half a order of banana bread French toast which is Banana bread battered and fried, topped with candied apples, pecans, apple butter, whipped cream and homemade molasses syrup. Divine! Great food, super friendly staff, great service. Highly recommend!

What an extraordinary restaurant going above and beyond to do it right. On recommendation, I checked out the Doo Dah Diner on a recent work trip to Wichita. The folks were extremely friendly and welcoming from the second I walked in the door. In no time, I was enjoying the best corned beef hash of my life. (Plus a housemade biscuit and jam!!) Generous portions of delicious, quality ingredients. This place is an absolute must stop destination for anyone who touches the state of Kansas.

This deserves more than 5 stars! Came here years ago and had the best Sunday brunch buffet ever. Today we all ordered off the menu and everything is amazing! Fresh ingredients, good sized portions and loads of amazing options. The staff is great and the manager is very friendly, walking around to make sure the food and service is great. Doo-Dah Diner is a MUST eat at restaurant, you will definitely not be disappointed in their food and service.

Nestled in the heart of downtown Wichita, the Intrust Bank Arena stands as a premier entertainment hub, boasting a capacity of 20,000 seats. This state-of-the-art venue is not just for sports enthusiasts; it also hosts an array of concerts, ice shows, and conventions throughout the year. Alongside other local gems like Century II and the historic Orpheum Theatre, Intrust Bank Arena attracts both national and regional touring acts that keep the excitement alive seven days a week.
We had an incredible experience at the U.S Figure Skating championship at the Intrust Bank arena in downtown Wichita, KS. The performers showed off their talent during the rounds of competing. The arena was large and spacious enough to see the entire routines without visibility problems. The employees at the arena are very helpful and friendly. I also appreciate large venues that keep their bathrooms spotless! I'd go back to the Intrust Bank Arena to watch a competition any day!

Honestly, the concourse are too small. The sightlines aren't great and none of the food options wowed me. The parking was an absolute rip. I barely saw any ushers. The NCAA should forget about Intrust Bank Arena.

I’ve been to many events here over the past 15 years. From Thunder games to concerts to monster trucks and WWE! Always a good time, love the food and drink selections. Prices do seem to be a little high but what arena isn’t like that? The Cox Lounge is very nice. Really enjoy the seats that you can scan a QR code from and have food and drinks delivered.

How can 2 beers cost $30 or 2 drinks in perhaps 16 Oz cups for $40??!! That is ridiculous. Profit off tickets, parking, food and outrageous drinks. Expected pricey but really!! Hockey game was great otherwise.

We went to the INTRUST Bank Arena for a bit of Disney on ice. What a great fun filled experience. The show was very entertaining. I loved singing along with all the songs.
Jenny W — Google review
The arena is located in downtown Wichita which makes it easy to get to off the freeway. There is plenty of parking but you have to get there early for the close spaces. The staff is helpful to get to your seats and getting around the arena. Now the stairs to go into the arena are a little steep to me but they do have rails. Also the seats are close together for a tall person but I was fine. It is also handicap friendly. For smokers there is an area outside. Arenas like this tend to be cold so a jacket is recommended. They have many food and drink options but you are not getting out of here spending less than $40. If you have the opportunity to get the VIP Experience that comes with food and drinks that is a good value- they happened to sell out for this concert. I had the time of my life. I appreciated the security and first responder staff present to keep people safe.

Arena in Wichita, handles a bunch of events and we enjoyed the space and comfortable seats. Lots of backstage space to set up and plenty of changing rooms. Was here again in 2025 to do a skating event, and while the aftermath was the sad flight, the venue was still easy to manage and parking across the avenue in Pec 3 was cheap. Lots of vendors and space.

Everything about this place was awesome. From the drinks to the service and atmosphere. Never got to try any food but it made me hungry just smelling it. If you get bored at this place then it’s not for you
Theodore W — Google review
I’ll preface this by saying my family has hit the Chicken & Pickle in KC had had a good experience. We were in town for a soccer tournament so our team rented one of the outdoor covered areas to let the our kids relax and have some fun with all the outdoor games and pickleball. When we arrived our server told us to expect some slower service as they only had 3 bartenders working on drinks. We ordered and while the wait wasn’t terrible for drinks it was extended. Food- This was biggest issue on our end. We ordered pickle chips and deviled eggs for apps. Both were normal and while arrival took 30 mins it was fine as our group was chatting. When it came to order our main course we were admittedly on the tail end of our groups order. I ordered BBQ wings and a single flat burger for my son and myself. We waited for a while and eventually other people within our group all received their food; yet ours never did arrive. We asked our waiter to check on it and he said that he would. As the night was ending our server brought out everyone’s checks including ours. The problem is we still hadn’t received our food. I should’ve told the waiter to just take the food off our bill at that point and gotten food elsewhere. Instead we asked for the order to be made to-go and for extra ranch since we were going to have to eat at the hotel. Our food did arrive eventually but without any ranch for the wings and the wings were naked instead of BBQ. Our server told us that the restaurant had run out of it and multiple other condiments. Rather than cause our group to wait any longer (they were nice and waiting with us) we took our food and left with the group and ate in our hotel room. While the concept is awesome and we understand the draw to it, the execution was poor overall for our group. 3 bartenders on a a Saturday night and our server covering multiple awnings isn’t enough. Additionally watching others eat, then receiving your tab before you actually receive food is far less than ideal.

We recently hosted an event at Chicken N Pickle, and even with unexpected rain, it was an unforgettable experience. The team didn’t miss a beat—they seamlessly moved us indoors and made sure everything ran smoothly. From the event planners to the wait staff, the service was truly out of this world. What stood out most was how genuinely cared for we felt. My daughter summed it up best: “I was up late last night because I was just so happy with how the evening went.” That kind of joy doesn’t happen by accident—it’s a reflection of the thoughtful planning and hospitality that Chicken N Pickle brings to the table. Highly recommend for anyone looking to host a memorable event, rain or shine!

Chicken N Pickle in Wichita was a great experience! There was so much to do for the boys’ soccer team, and they most definitely enjoyed themselves. The atmosphere was fun and full of energy, with food and drinks available to order. Some of the parents ordered food and enjoyed it as well. It was definitely busy since it was a soccer tournament weekend, and the staff seemed a bit overwhelmed—but even with that, both the kids and adults had a great time. A perfect spot for team outings, family fun, or just hanging out. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ (4.5/5)

We went here for a surprise retirement party 🥳🎉 Many of is had never played pickleball before. It didn't matter, it's easy to pick up, if you've ever played ping pong, or a racket sport. The service was excellent and the food choices were good. They bring the food to your court.
Lee P — Google review
I went here with my family a couple times recently and have mixed feelings. The food: The rotisserie chicken was incredibly good with the house seasoning! It comes with a tortilla, some avocado, and a Serrano pepper. I supposed they expect you to rip the chicken apart and make your own burrito with it? However, I preferred to enjoy the chicken by itself. My wife had the chicken Caesar wrap with crispy chicken, and it was good. We also had the smoked wings with house seasoning (which is not spicy) and it was also delicious. The atmosphere was great. There is way more seating than I expected. Granted, the nearly perfect weather helped significantly, as there is a lot of seating outside. They have TV's inside, and a separate room with a wall FULL of TV's, but the volume was turned up to a deafening level. There are 6 outdoor amd 6 indoor pickleball courts. Court, paddle, and ball rentals require a fee. Outside, they have corn hole games scattered throughout, two places to play bocce ball, a ping pong table, giant connect 4, and giant jenga, which can be played for free. They also have a shaved ice concession stand outside. Service: This was the main drawback for me. The people at the ordering counter were nice and polite, but we rarely had someone come check on us to ask if we needed anything. We needed napkins and an extra set of silverware, but someone only came to check on us after we had finished eating. I suppose we could've gone inside and asked, but we were seated out by the pickleball courts and I didn't want my food to get cold while I went on that hunt.
Ben M — Google review
Great family venue. There was soccer, pickle ball, bean bag toss, sand and many other things to do. They have the inside where you can watch the game, a gazebo to watch the game outside, as well as all the games outside. The service was great! We had a fairly large group of people, and the staff did an amazing job at providing us all service. The deviled eggs were definitely my favorite.

This is my second time here and I think the food got worst. I got the CNP double burgers with sweet potatoes fries. The patties were crumbly and salty. I had to drink my water with every bite. The sweet potatoes were soggy. The first time I was here, the burger was decent.

Good cake donuts that you can buy for $1.50 each, which is a good price these days. Many flavors offered along with coffee/espresso/lattes. Kind of quirky decor if you like that kind of thing. The sit-down dining area seemed a little loud. We went on a Sunday morning around 10:00 and wasn't too busy. They also offer vegan donuts.

Loved the artsy flair! I had to sign my name on the chalk wall. This donut shop is different, the donuts are cake donuts, - no raised donuts. The Twix donut is so creamy and delicious, was my first choice. Who stops at one donut? Also tried the lemon, loved it. This is a fun little shop. It has a drive up too! The Donut whole is number 36 in the Secret Wichita guide the first place on my list. There is a chicken on top of the building and a portrait of Colonel Sanders inside but no fried chicken just delicious donuts!

I decided to visit Old Town this morning to find a farmers market! How fun! There were a ton of delicious food and drink options as well as your usual stuff (produce, jewelry, etc), but there were also some super unique businesses here as well! I stumbled upon a booth selling butterfly baskets! I would 100% recommend spending a Saturday morning here!

Opening weekend there were almost as many dogs as people. Hard to move around in the square. Did buy candied strawberries, the berries were delicious but not worth $5.00 for 4.

An absolute staple! food trucks, live music, art, crafts and special events. Enjoy pastries, fresh coffee, and other items while strolling through the market.

Great variety of booths, if you want more fresh produce the Ridge and 21st Farmers Market has more. This one usually has a fruit stand, a pasta stand, and various baked goods. There are a few other food vendors, the plant bus, the book bus, and handicraft booths.

Beautiful plants, vegetables, breads and more can be found at the outdoor Old Town Farmer's Market. A relaxing Saturday morning outing. The new indoor farmers market opened today (11/5) in Distillery 244. I wish that lighting would be a bit better inside, but overall very nice. Happy to purchase some locally made and grown products. I have added some more pictures.

Bite Me BBQ is a family-owned and operated barbecue restaurant located in downtown Wichita, serving up traditional favorites like brisket, pulled pork, and ribs alongside unique menu items such as deep-fried lobster, barbecue nachos, and mountain oysters. Voted one of the top seven BBQ spots in Kansas for its mouthwatering ribs by Kansas Magazine, Bite Me BBQ has also been featured in Southern Living as a must-visit for barbecue enthusiasts.
Overall, a solid first experience. Not at all busy because we went on a Saturday afternoon, but service was quick and friendly. My two meat sandwich was really good - brisket and ham were perfect. My wife enjoyed her pulled pork baked potato. Restrooms were very clean.

Hot, fresh and so delicious! Bite Me BBQ never disappoints with their food and service! Had the Chicken Fried Chicken, with gravy, and it had amazing flavor and a big portion size!
Roger E — Google review
The best thing I ate was the ribs, and the sausage. That sausage had some kick and the ribs weren't lacking in flavor either. The moist brisket was good with the pulled pork was a little bland. The mac and cheese was fantastic, but the other sides my group had seemed pretty ordinary. All around a great meal and I'd go back.
Jacob P — Google review
Nice atmosphere, great looking bar, but a bar never serves great BBQ. Dont know why- brisket was over cooked (though it still tasted decent), sides were honestly great (coleslaw and potato salad were fantastic) but the pulled pork was… not good. I should’ve said something about it, the staff was so friendly that I don’t know why I didn’t mention it, but man that pulled pork tasted like it was days old. Come here for a drink and the atmosphere, but dont expect high end Q here.
Farris B — Google review
this used to be my all time favorite bbq place. my absolute favorite for their ribs and prime rib because of the wonderful smokey flavor. last weekend we took some friends there because he used to judge bbq competitions. well i was sadly disappointed because neither the ribs nor the prime bib had any smoked flavor at all. I may give them one more try to see if that night was just an anomaly.

The slogans on some of the t-shirts worn by restaurant staff may be somewhat offensive to some people. The food is fantastic. The servers are attentive and work extra hard. The atmosphere is very much bar like with dim lighting. The decor is rustic and the layout looks good. The place is clean. The BBQ sauce was tasty and the brisket on my nachos was cooked to tenderness. Really can't complain, prices are in the realm of standard for the market.
Charles D — Google review
The atmosphere was fantastic! From the moment you walk in, the sweet, smoky aroma of barbecue fills the air. The restaurant has the charm and vibe of a Kansas City blues venue—while I’m not sure if they host live bands, the ambiance definitely sets the stage for one. The food is absolutely delicious, though the portion sizes could be a bit more generous. Offering two sides with a BBQ sandwich, for example, would make the meal feel more complete. Overall, the service is outstanding, and the quality of the food is top-notch. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Friendly staff & place was nice and clean. Hoped for burnt ends but that's only on Tuesday/Thursday, so we tried brisket & a turkey sandwich with sides of green beans, baked potato, coleslaw, and sweet potato fries. Nothing stood out saying "we need more," it was okay. Portions were good.

Brewery
River City Brewing Company is a popular spot in Old Town Wichita, established in 1993. The brewery offers a variety of handcrafted ales and delicious Kansas-inspired dishes. The turn-of-the-century space features a pub menu, live music, lounge area, TVs, and an outdoor deck. Recently, the owner partnered with a company to transform the venue into a festive holiday wonderland with lights and decorations covering every inch of the building inside and out.
Oh what fun it is to drink (and eat) at a Midwest brewery! 🎶 wow! What a filling meal and great service! Easy parking. Great beer, drink and non-alcoholic selections. All the food is hardy and filling. Will be on our list for return visits!
Edward G — Google review
The waffle fries with the Baja sauce is good. I highly recommend dipping the waffle fries in the spinach artichoke dip too. The fried fish was too thick it kept falling apart, definitely something that needs to be eaten by hand because a fork will just shred it. It was good fish though it just needed more flavor- the tartar sauce helped but it was a bit too sweet for my taste. Their cocktail menu is way too limited, I get that it’s a brewery but there needs to be more drink options for people who can’t drink beer- speaking of- the gluten free options on the menu are very limited. Yes they have cauliflower crust pizza-I believe that is gf- but some people (myself included) can’t even do cauliflower crust. The Greek pizza looked yummy, but it was like the only vegetarian option besides mac n cheese on the menu. My husband was not pleased about that. The spinach artichoke dip does come with tortilla chips which are gluten free. I wanted to try the enchiladas- but sadly they’re made with flour tortillas. The best part of my whole experience was my drink- I went to the bar and had them mix up some knob creek, soda water, their homemade blueberry syrup, lemon juice shaken served over ice and garnished with mint. It was delicious, and the bartender was happy to make me a custom drink. This is a great place if you want burgers and beer, not such a great place if you’re looking for gf or vegetarian options. I will probably not be returning here. (Unless they make the enchiladas gluten free).

Beers were good. I got the buffalo chicken Sammy in the Mac and cheese and wasn’t disappointed. Had good flavor but wasn’t overtop spicy. Lots of outdoor covered seating which was perfect. I’d return and try something else.

I had my baby shower at the Barrel Room on the second floor of River City Brewing Company and it was so amazing! The room was beautiful with the string lights, and natural brick walls that even though I did not bring a lot of decor due to booking the venue last minute it felt so fancy. We had Alex as our bartender for the event and he not only took drink orders, helped with trash but also helped with any issues or questions we had. For food we selected two appetizers (Cheese and Fruit Board), hot slider buffet with homemade chips and a mimosa bar which everyone kept raving about. One bonus we were not aware at the time was that the venue had a built in sound system which we were able to not only use the microphone but also have music playing. Overall I really think the venue is hidden gem with a beautiful vibe and low pricing!
Amber R — Google review
Overall, it was a solid brewery with many unique beer styles available. Fantastic menu with something for everyone, but the pizza stole the show. They do not offer craft beer flights but instead smaller pours, which works out better. The prices are extremely reasonable, and the atmosphere is welcoming yet trendy. Sitting at the bar was perfect for some nice conversations about what to do in the area as a tourist. Parking was very easy and free.

After the museum, my wife and I stopped by this awesome spot. We were greeted and seated right away, and our waiter was great from start to finish. We ordered the wings — super good! I tried the S.O.B. beer and loved it. We both got the classic burgers and wow, they were fantastic. Finished off with the blueberry cheesecake, which was amazing too. Great food, great service — we’ll definitely be back!

Definitely a staple of Wichita! Been coming here since a kid and it has been one of the best in Wichita. The homemade Coca Cola is the best drink on the menu in my opinion! I got the beef brisket sandwich for the first time, and wow it was awesome. The chili was amazing as well and the vibe in here is immaculate! Definitely recommend checking this place out when you’re in town here! You won’t be disappointed!

Delightful downtown Wichita gem. Great food, cool building, and literally the friendliest waitress ever. A treat for your eyes and taste buds, the cherry vanilla coke starts you off right, and the menu is so tempting it's hard to choose. I had a cheese crisp, very nice, my sister has a tuna melt, she loved it, and neice had a pita stuffed with hummus, it looked wonderful and she liked it very much. I highly recommend!
Annette L — Google review
The delicious smell drew me in, and I'm glad I did! I had the pastrami on rye and the beef stew, both were out of this world good. The sandwich was toasted to perfection, with a side of run of the mill potato salad. The side of beef stew was outstanding, savory but not too salty, with perfectly tender veggies and large pieces of beef. My husband got the Reuben and said it was quite good. We didn't have room for dessert, but their root beer floats looked really good. We will definitely be back next time we stop in Wichita!

Absolutely the best service we have ever had! If I could give it 10 stars I would. The best gluten free bread I have ever tasted! The food was so delicious! Can’t wait to go back!

This is a really fun old fashioned soda shop. The food is excellent and the place was packed. So of course we chose the barstools. We had the crab salad sandwich, open faced. Which was so filling we couldn't eat dessert. So next time.....dessert first!
Mary P — Google review
The restaurant was clean and has a nice atmosphere. Service was friendly and quick. I was a little irritated that the sever immediately started pushing milk shakes. I understand that I had kids with me but I wanted them thinking about lunch before desserts. The Reuben was okay, the side of potato salad was pretty bland. My daughter had the chicken salad sandwich which was very good and the winning choice out of the group. The club sandwich and ham sandwiches were also described as okay. The price for four meals was acceptable. The 4 stars is for the chicken salad, it is worth a return visit. I wouldn’t discourage anyone from trying the Old Mill Tasty Shop but I wouldn’t say it is a must try either.

Oh my!! The chicken fried chicken is my favorite!! I forgot to take a picture before I dug in!! So delicious and tastes like some good home cooking!! Definitely a “must try” if you go here! Make sure you follow up with a piece of carrot cake! The absolute best!!

First time there and our waiter Nathan was the best! He walked us through favorites and specials. We had the blue plate special Monterrey, the muffaletta sandwich with potato salad, carrot cake and a special cinnamon toast crisp shake. All of it was very good. The restaurant is great to still have the original soda counter and make shakes and malts and ice cream sundaes there. Nathan was great, very helpful, and seemed to know exactly what we would like. This is a Wichita gem.

Known for its creative soups, salads, and sandwiches made with farm-fresh ingredients, the menu features small batch soups that change daily and rotate seasonally based on the availability of local ingredients.
What a wonderful restaurant! I went with a very large group (27 people) after a conference we traveled from Texas for and staff was very kind when we all ordered. Each order came out very quick, warm and delicious! I ordered the Chicken tortilla soup and it was so good! My brother had the Cleopatra salad and I had a bit of it and it was also so delicious! We bought a recipe card book for the recipe for the apricot dressing on it. The Tomato Bisque is unique and has a very pleasant sweetness to it, my friends got it and i had a little. Staff cleaned up and served tables very quick and friendly. The menu has vegan and gluten free options too! If I’m ever back in Kansas I will definitely stop by here on my trip.

Went there to for lunch celebrate my birthday with my dad today (didn't say anything so cannot tell you if they offer anything for birthdays, ask yourself sorry). Tried The Edward and flight of soups, dad got The Club and Potato Salad, ordered to go a Blue Key North(?) with pasta salad and a GF PB Cookie to-go.. The Edward had a lot of tuna salad, no real breaks in texture, which can be good for some, you get your moneys worth of tuna for certain but needed some kind of chips or something, was only able to get through a quarter and should have taken home as I had the perfect chips to make the sandwich pairing to me, a 10 at least, but hindsight.. Dad offered a piece off of his Club and a little potato salad... Not having had potato salad before, I found it to be alright, between that and the pasta salad, I love the pasta salad. The Club easily saved the entire experience for me, the small bite was exceptional and wished I had gotten that, and will if I go back.. The soup flight was alright, with tomato in for the first, garbanzo bean, poormans stew, shrimp chowder and lastly the chicken tortilla.. The Blue Key North had a ton of turkey, small amount of jelly which isn't terrible, the roll is well toasted, the pasta salad surprisingly delicious and different than what I am used to, in a pleasant way to contribute. The GF Peanut Butter Cookie is good, really sweet (much too sweet to my likeness), wish there was more of a crunch or crispiness to it, it kind of falls apart like brown sugar. The staff at the counter taking the order were friendly and super helpful, didn't get talked to during our meal for feedback otherwise nothing bad happened, overall decent experience and as I said, the Club saved it for me.. Below are ratings of food out of 10 The Edward 7.4 The Club 9.4 Potato Salad 8.3 Pasta Salad 8.5 Tomato Bisque 8.2 Garbanzo Bean 7.8 Poorman's Stew 7.6 Shrimp Chowder 7 Chicken Tortilla 6.8 GF Peanut Butter Cookie 6 Blue Key North (?) 7 Overall experience 7.8/10, not a bad place for lunch and worth giving a chance to. My only absolute recommendations at this time are The Club with Pasta Salad. Did not get picture of to-go order or dads food, what is in pictures is The Edward and the Soups minus Poorman's.

We are not from the city, so we didn’t know if we had to queue, grab seats, or whatever. We stood at the entrance for a good 10 mins like lost sheeps, yet nobody directed us (yes, the employees saw us and ignored us). We also couldn’t find the soup menu anywhere in the shop, we just randomly blurted out mushroom soup. We got mushrooms with lentil soup and ‘Cindy the boy’. The combination of these two paired really nicely. I also enjoyed the sweetness of the apple chutney in the bread. However, the bread was sooooo dry and tough. It was so hard to chew and my jaw was tired after 3 bites of it (and I’m not even an old person…)

Yesterday I had ordered 6 meals. I called at 10:30 to place the order. The woman who answered was so kind and so helpful. I was so thankful to reach them early! I arrived at 11:03 on the dot. I went to check in and a gentleman told me it would be about 10 minutes. (I left a $25 tip on a $74 order). He pointed me to take a seat and reassured he'd bring it out when it was finished. I continued to wait and wait and watched several orders that were to go be taken out the door. I became extremely frustrated because I waited for 34 minutes. I waited in line and when I got up there our order had been just sitting there. I understand they're very popular and busy, but the gentleman looked at me several times and still allowed the food wait. The food is always good, but that was just a bit frustrating.

Every staff member was friendly, knowledgeable, and able to answer all of my questions. Being right downtown (just 1 block south of Kellogg on Broadway) this is a MUST see attraction for Wichitans and visitors alike! The memorial plaza section of the museum is especially meaningful. The "Last Call" statue is truly striking and humbling. To see all the names of fallen Kansas firefighters in brick and stone is extremely powerful. Pricing is more than fair and well worth it! Took my family for the first time on Tuesday for my Oldest Sons 15th birthday. We were very surprised that it was half off entry as I'd not seen that advertised anywhere. The assortment of games was very wide and it was super cool to see the video projections of the pinball machines which turned out to be a hit with my kids. The food was typical but very good and obviously made with care. Wait staff were all very sweet, kind and attentive. You can tell they enjoy their jobs. This place is going to be in rotation on our half priced Tues list as a lot of other places in town are also half priced on Tuesday.

Being a total child inside, I couldn't resist going to an arcade while in Witchita. When you enter, they have a large selection of pinball and older arcade games. They charge by the hour for the arcade games and pinball is pay as you play. The selection of pinball is top notch. Although I do like some Jersey Jack games, Stern is always solid. I could stay at this place for hours on end. They serve decent food and liquor too. Gotta check this place out if you're in the area.

Very family friendly place that really takes this gen x guy back to his childhood hood. The food was quick, tasty and reasonably priced. The game play is hard to beat at $12 for unlimited play on MOST of the games. Some games like skeeball cost extra, but still aren’t bad at all. I did not partake but the bar looked well stocked and again the prices were very reasonable. Things that could be improved would include cleaning the games better, some are pretty visibly dirty and taking more care to ensure the full facilities are accessible by wheelchair and isles are blocked by games, chairs, etc. Overall very happy with this find and will be returning with friends.

Very very busy. Small enclosed space with tons of people around. Staff waited till after we paid to tell us that only certain games could be played for 12 dollars. But the other stuff you have to pay with tokens. We would’ve done the other games if we’d be told that. Also when we walked in there was no staff at the booth. And so we stood there for a while unsure of what to do. We asked a server and she said someone was supposed to be there. Overall it was a alright experience. Just very loud and crowded for my tastes. The games were fun though.

Step into a time machine and land right in the heart of downtown Wichita at this epic arcade! For a small admission fee, you can unleash your inner 80s and 90s kid and play all 103 arcade games to your heart's content. Think you're a pinball wizard? Prove it on one of the 23 classic pinball machines, complete with modern LED displays that broadcast your epic (or not-so-epic) moves to everyone around. Feeling a bit peckish after all that button-mashing? No worries! This place has a fully stocked bar and a kitchen serving up all your favorite snacks—appetizers, pizza, hot dogs, and burgers. It's like a teenage dream come true! And if you're planning a birthday bash, look no further. With a spacious patio filled with tables and chairs, it's the perfect spot to celebrate and relive those glory days. In short, this arcade is a blast from the past with a modern twist, and it's absolutely awesome!

Tuesday night is the night to come! Half off gameplay! There’s a good variety of games to play and there is something for everyone. It gets crowded fast but it’s a really nice set-up as there is food and drinks available along with some decent-sized party rooms. Fun place to check out!

Restaurant
Stearman Field Bar & Grill is a laid-back restaurant and bar with an aviation theme, situated at a private airport. The indoor dining area offers ample space, but the real draw is the open-air patio overlooking the landing strip where planes take off and land. The menu features creatively named dishes like Kickin Pilot Potatoes and Flyover Philly Cheesesteak. Additionally, there's a playground nearby for kids to enjoy.
What an incredible place! This was my first time dining here and I have nothing but compliments. The venue is fun; I loved seeing a plane land! The food is tasty and didn't take a long time to make it to our table. The staff is attentive and friendly. The manager even stopped by to check on us. I will absolutely come back here again!

It was my mother's birthday. Food was awesome. They had something for everyone on the menu. Our waitor was fantastic. While we were there a plane landed and parked right there. You don't get to see that every day. The kids loved it! Needless to say this is a gem of a place. I'll be taking the family here again.

Neet place to eat, drink, and watch small airplanes fly in, depending on your luck, time of the day, or events goin on. Outdoor seeting. Live bands sometimes. The menu selection was not bad, the food was good, and prices were great. Worth the short drive.
Nacim — Google review
My family loves little quirky places to grab a bite, and this place did not disappoint. Atmosphere was energetic and lively, so fun watching the planes come in and take off and just overall a fun little place. Our server was tentative, gave us suggestions, and super fun! Brooklyn was amazing and made our experience everything we were hoping for, ask for her and she’ll take good care of you. We have family all over the area and will definitely be making it a common stop on our future visits.

Good atmosphere and it was cool to see airplanes flying in and out. The restaurant was busy but the staff was able to keep up. A bit of a drive from Wichita but it was worth it.
Khanh P — Google review
What a gem! We had such a fun evening, it totally lived up to the hype. Right from the start, every server we passed gave us a warm “Welcome in!” which might sound small, but really sets the tone. You can tell they care about the details. I was especially impressed with how accommodating they were about my food allergies (dairy, egg, and gluten). Even though it’s not listed on the menu, the staff knew what to do and made sure I had options I could safely enjoy- which NEVER happens without a lot of hassle. Huge win. We did have a bit of a wait for outdoor seating, but honestly, it’s just part of the charm. Everyone wants to sit outside because it’s such a cool setup. It’s kid-friendly, lots of space, and a perfect view of the live music, playground, and airplanes all at the same time. The kiddos were in heaven watching the planes take off and land while they played (and we got to relax a little!). Bonus: the live country music on Saturday night was just the right vibe — upbeat but not too loud, great for families or a casual night out. Oh and the food… phenomenal. All in all, a fantastic spot that feels like a hidden treasure. Great for adults, even better for kids. We’ll definitely be back!

HomeGrown Wichita at Naftzger Park is a popular daytime eatery that offers locally sourced ingredients for breakfast, brunch, and lunch. With multiple locations across the city, it's known for its sweet and savory options as well as sandwiches, soups, and salads. The restaurant also serves a variety of beverages from caffeinated to boozy and refreshing.
Great brunch place. Wife called the cold brewtini “a highlight ‘to die for.’” 12 year old had funfetti pancakes that tasted as good as they looked. Wife enjoyed the biscuits and gravy. Denver omelette did not disappoint. Food is all fresh and locally sourced. Fully recommend without hesitation. *written by actual customer without ChatGPT

So glad we discovered this place. The service was exceptional, and if you happen to have a wait for your table the park is an excellent place to hang out. The coffee was fresh and the Sunrise juice was so refreshing. The biscuits are Heaven, light and delicate, and oh so buttery. Highly recommend HomeGrown for your next breakfast, lunch, or brunch.

Beautiful restaurant. Fabulous waiter. Loved having higher quality eggs for breakfast. The biscuit and gravy that i ordered was a bit too cake like in texture for me, but the gravy was yum. Husband loved the lemon French toast on their seasonal menu. Their strawberry lemonade was also very good, albeit a bit too sweet for my taste but hubs loved it. I love the concept of this place, cooking with ingredients from local places. It's brilliant. Lighting was a bit too bright, but hey, at least you can see. Haha.

Ian was such an amazing server! He did a good job making suggestions, considering it was my friend and I first time there! It was pretty busy and we did have a 30 min wait but it was completely worth it. Will definitely come back here again. Keep up the good work you guys!

Phenomenal breakfast spot! We went during an event downtown and the service was still incredible! So many great food options, and our food came out fast and hot. Only downside was the noise level was insane due to how open the restaurant is. Definitely recommend for breakfast/brunch.

Milkfloat is a small batch bakery located in the Delano District, offering a wide range of craft coffee, beverages, decadent ice cream flavors, and unique baked goods. The menu features a continual rotation of fresh and seasonal flavors. The bakery's welcoming ambiance with comfortable seating makes it an ideal spot for gatherings or a sweet escape. Their made-from-scratch treats include cakes, pies, cookies, and specialty drinks.
One of my favorite bakeries in town. Has such fun and imaginative creations. And some of the best coffee in town!
Ashley A — Google review
This was more of a coffee shop and less of a place to grab dessert. Was not expecting that. Hardly any options for ice cream flavors/toppings. However the ice cream and cheesecake we did get we're good nothing really stood out though. My husband ordered a hot fudge sundae but it ended up being regular chocolate syrup.
Danielle — Google review
I noticed that it's more of a coffee shop than a dessert shop since they appear to focus more on coffee. The seasonal pumpkin spice drink was pretty good, but I would go back to try their desserts. On the bright side, it was cozy inside which created the perfect autumn feeling despite the warm outdoor temperatures.

Milkfloat your ambience and your workers are 10/10, but your pastries?? The cruffins barely have any filling and your brownies are hard. Super sad 😔.

Great place to grab a snack, dessert or milkshake which brings me to Emma. She did a fantastic job making my 'custom' (easy to make) milkshake. She excelled where other shops fail. She made it - Thank you so much! Ice cream was fantastic and the peanut butter cream cheese bar was off the charts. If you find yourself in Wichita this is a must stop; easy to get in and out with fast & friendly service. To the management, Emma is your employee of the month! Make it happen for August. Will definitely be back one day!

First time here, on a whim, and I love it! I wanted something different...and sweet. They have a very large wide open seating area. Full freshly ground coffee selections, a few types of swag to buy, bottled soda, Japanese Cold Brew, desserts and even a few breakfast items. I asked for something that would bring me back. The barista DELIVERED! Come check them out! Delano District does it again!

I had such a nice relaxing time at Milk Float! Service was great, both of the baristas were kind and patient, and they really seemed to be helping each other and enjoying their jobs. The key lime pie was the best I think I've ever had. I got the seasonal Lakeside drink with crushed ice, matcha, pistachio, and peach. It was very well balanced and just the thing for a hot day. The matcha wasn't too overpowering and it was just sweet enough. The atmosphere was really cool too! I don't know what the giant drip coffee thing was doing but it was definitely worth a watch. If I'm ever in the city again I'll stop by for sure to try more treats for sure.

Home of the best cold brew in Wichita and so much more, in Delano on Douglas, between the clock tower roundabout and McLean. Here is a place that does so many different things well that it’s hard to label what it is. For me, it’s a top Wichita coffee shop that has a Japanese slow drip cold brew that is phenomenal. Other hot and cold coffee and drink options are great here as well, along with a nice variety of pastries, breakfast items, and even ice creams. They have their own bakery so the treats are fresh and made right there. There’s also friendly and engaging service here to go with a very well spaced out dining area with a cool and inviting look. I highly recommend Milkfloat to all residents and visitors of the Wichita area.

We had our first Wichita Wind Surge experience and it was so much fun! We had seats on the outfield burm that were perfect for our family. The boys had their gloves to catch home runs during the game, which two of them did. We arrived early and put down blankets in the shade under the jumbotron scoreboard, which was great because it was hot and sunny. We will definitely be back to watch another game!!

Visitors can also enjoy outdoor recreation at the city's numerous parks and trails. The facility has received praise for its helpful staff and excellent birthday party packages that include organized activities like skating and timely food service.
Was a fantastic host site for the NDT camp - two rinks, NHL and Olympic, a number of rooms for off-ice and lessons, and a friendly staff that helped out. Upstairs seating was great - but plugs were far up on the supports, making it impossible to charge laptops to work at most tables.

It was great! There were many people, it was about 15 minutes door to skates and another ten, but just to put the skates on. There was almost always a line for skates and concessions but not horrible. The employees were okay but not really excited about working. (Probably high schoolers) There weren't really enough trainers (the walker type aids) for beginners. That is really the only negative. We had a great time! 44, 17, 16, and 5 year old patrons.
Archie W — Google review
I recently had the displeasure of visiting the concession stand at the ice skating center, and it was an absolute disaster. The three male employees working tonight seemed utterly clueless and completely disinterested in their jobs. First, there was the guy who couldn't seem to make eye contact, let alone take my order correctly. He mumbled something unintelligible and then proceeded to get everything wrong. Then, there was the one who clearly hadn't showered in days, reeking of stale sweat and old popcorn. And finally, the third one who was too busy flirting with some girl to even bother acknowledging the rest of us waiting in line. The service was slow, the attitudes were terrible, and the whole experience left me feeling disgusted. Avoid this place at all costs.

This is a great place to take family and friends to go skating during public skate. The staff is great and are willing to help you out with all of your needs. The GM Sean O’Rielly is awesome he not only runs the rink but also coaches 6/8u hockey and his passion for the sport is passed on to the kids. Speaking of hockey the Jr Thunder program is a great opportunity for kids to learn self respect and discipline. So head to the rink and come skate with us.

The park also boasts several playgrounds, including the renowned Boundless playground with various swings and play zones suitable for children of all abilities.
Beautiful lake and paths strewn with little bridges, gazebos, and picnic tables. Just be careful your pup doesn’t get pokey sticker thorns in their paws!! They seemed to be everywhere even when we stayed on the paths. We will have our booties on next time to avoid the ouch! You cannot beat the serenity found here though and we will be back to enjoy more.

Sedgwick County Park is a wonderful destination for families looking to enjoy the great outdoors. The park features expansive green spaces and well-maintained walking paths, making it easy for visitors to explore and unwind in a natural setting. Families can enjoy a variety of activities, from leisurely strolls to spirited games of frisbee or soccer in the open fields. One of the highlights of Sedgwick County Park is its well-equipped playgrounds, where children can run, climb, and play safely. The park's overall cleanliness is commendable, with staff consistently working to keep the grounds tidy and inviting for all visitors. However, the restroom facilities could use some improvement. While they are available, they often lack of water run facilities and cleanliness, which can be a concern for families, especially those with young children. This drawback can detract from an otherwise enjoyable experience. Overall, Sedgwick County Park is a lovely place for family outings and outdoor fun. With its beautiful landscape and various recreational opportunities, it’s a great spot to spend a day, but visitors should be prepared for the restroom situation during their visit.

I have played tennis here. It was great until they converted two of the courts to six pickle ball courts. It’s very noisy and not many play there any more. They should have built them at a different location. There are several lakes that you can hike around. However there are no activities in the water other than miniature power boats. The zoo is next door. Sometimes you can hear the lions roar in the morning and evening. There is also basketball and horseshoes but I rarely see those being used. There is a large hill (for Wichita) it’s probably 30 feet high. It’s great for sleeping in the winter or hiking up the slope of the steep sides of your practicing for a hike. Going up the steep sides I did 600 elevation gain in two miles. It’s also a good place to go to get a bit of the entire park. Also from the top you can watch the radio controlled cars jump the small hills just north. It’s great to hike in the morning and hear all the birds. Lots of cardinals, blue Jays, geese, ducks, red winged black birds, some orioles, egrets, great blue herons and more. The park can get busy with events but there is always an open area. The paths have, walkers, cyclists, runners, some dogs. This might be my favorite park in Wichita.

I thought the show was great. I love seeing plays I have not seen before. It keeps performances fresh and gives the patrons new material to experience. I am always amazed at the talent that is on stage and behind the scenes. The impact MTW gives to the community reaches greater depth than you may imagine! Bravo!

This production was up to the usual high performance qualities of MTW. However, as a long time attendee and even usher, I am used to the fact that all the summer musicals performed were suitable for "family fare". I would not have wanted to watch Waitress with my children or grandchildren. I am disappointed in its selection.

Visitors can catch feeding time at noon daily and observe birds of prey used in educational programs.
Very cool experience. Spring Break 2025. A person might want to prepare their children ahead of time, if planning to visit during feeding hours. When feeding the bobcat he will devour a thawed rat and raw chicken, with bones crunching and all. Yes, this is the food chain. But.... A little disturbing for the younger children. And .... The poor bobcat regurgitated due to eating a little too quickly,.,.. But.... Loved the experience and will be visiting again very soon. ..... Thank You!.

Amazing FREE experience. We loved learning about the animals up close and appreciated the knowledge sharing feeding session at noon. The beaver facts were cool and the beaver feeding session was a favorite. Kids were especially captivated by the beaver. We were thankful the animals wanted to eat during the session today. Also saw a turtle digging a nest for eggs. Historical place to "go see the animals." Thank you to the staff who clearly enjoy their jobs!

We had a great time at the Kansas Wildlife Exhibit! The place is super clean and well-kept. We got there about 45 minutes before they fed Rufus the bobcat, which gave us time to check things out. The kids had a blast tossing food to the ducks in the pond with one of the caretakers, who was really nice. We also watched the beaver get fed, which was cool to see. Everyone there seemed to really care about the animals, and it made the visit fun. We’d definitely go back!

This mission is wonderful. These animals are clearly well taken care of, as they aren’t able to be reintegrated into the wild. Gina is amazing! I told her I was only in town for a short period of time and she gave me so many recommendations for the Wichita area.

Beautiful park with a small free wildlife exhibit. A few birds, a beaver, turtles, and a bobcat. Bathrooms are overrun by homeless. Pleasant 20 min walk to the botanical gardens
Diane B — Google review
Great place for the family to go. Fun day at the park or a birthday party or just having a barbecue. Splash pad for the kids to play in. Playground for the kids. Plenty of parking. Sidewalks for walking. The river. The keeper of the plains is just across the street. There are lots of fun things to do around that area. Including the small animal exhibit. The lady who did the cleaning of the animal cages as well as did the feeding was very knowledgeable about the animals and where they came from, and their ages and fun facts about all of them. She answered everyone's questions. An all around good experience.

Very pleased with the value we received! We got a Groupon for unlimited rides. Visited at 5pm on a Friday, there were enough workers to operate rides our kids wanted. And we did the go karts at least 5-6x. Great experience, would go again!!

It’s super fun during weekdays when school is in session but not everything is open. We played mini golf and arcade games for my bf’s son’s birthday. He loved it.
Dan W — Google review
The employees were so kind to my 4 year old. There weren't enough to staff the rides but the park was slow and he had his own personal ride operator who ran the rides he wanted next. Owners should do some basic maintenance (paint, pieces missing). Whi ever trained the staff, great job.
Stephanie W — Google review
The staff here was very nice, friendly and helpful. This used to be a very nice and well maintained park. It is showing it age. The outside buildings are in disrepair. The mini golf courses used to be beautiful, it is now a mess. The course holes are in pretty good shape though. The fountains don't work at all and the course accent lighting is gone. The waterfall features, which were beautiful, now don't work and smells bad. All the water features needs cleaned. The go carts are fun but the track needs some serious work in several parts. I am sure the last couple years have been really tough, it is just sad to see the park going down hill.

Everything was close but it was super hot and there was a storm a few hours away anyway... But we went to mini golf anyway and that's what we did the kids and I played about 2 hours of mini golf girls had a blast and tried betting whod win and what not lol they def wanna come back and do more for sure.

Took my daughter here instead of going to the State Fair. Was so happy I did decide to come here instead because there was no lines occasionally you had to wait for an attendant to come over and help with another ride that's only because he was helping us at the last ride. It was one of the last warm days got up to like 93 but the employees were very eager to help us. We purchase the biggest ticket package vailable so we were there for probably 5 hours in all the employees went above and beyond to help us and stay out in the heat with us to have a little fun. I would definitely recommend it to anybody if you haven't been because it's just like going to a little Carnival except not crazy high prices or crowds and there's even a snack bar. They also have games inside available for tokens my kids just weren't interested in that they wanted to ride the rides I even have like 10 left over because we couldn't even spend them all before the little ones got kinda queasy on some of the rides. It sure ain't Worlds of Fun but I'll be damned if it ain't pretty clothes for the little ones
Kyla M — Google review
Decent time, nice but expected more. Went on the 4th of July and it was dead. Perfect for our family of 5. No beating crowds in the heat. Almost everyone we met was super polite, outside of the snack bar attendant who simply didn't understand the concept of me wanting to know the size of a large popcorn. He finally understood and went into the back to grab a tiny paper bag sized far less of the amount you'd get from a single bag of microwave popcorn-and I can't be exact in my memory but I think it was priced at $4.99. The snack bar was outrageously priced yet barely stocked. No pizza, hot dogs- just candy, popcorn and drinks. I opted to run to the store down the street and stock my backpack with snacks and treats for our 3 kids. It states no outside food or drink unless you're having a birthday party, but the status of their snack bar warranted improvised snacks. Half the rides were closed or not working. There were more kiddie rides available, which was nice for my 2 year old, but not my older 2. And they didn't have enough staff to have an attendant at each ride. Only 2 people for each area. So there was a small wait to get on rides as the attendants had to walk over between rides. We will return soon as we got a family pack of tickets, 30 for $65 and still have 14 left. Tickets are good for 30 days after the initial purchase. But for a family of 5, that should say enough.
Walking C — Google review
They were lacking employees to ride all of the rides- BUT the employees that were there worked super hard to try and be there to operate what people wanted to ride. Overall a decent place. They really should put some money into it. But I'm sure covid is hitting them as well financially. My family had fun and thats all I wanted. :)

The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fountain in Kansas City is a solemn and understated tribute to the 451 American lives lost in the Vietnam War. The monument features a memorial wall and a series of interconnected rectangular pools, creating a serene and poignant atmosphere. Nestled into the landscape, the fountain provides a peaceful setting for reflection and remembrance. As part of the city's collection of modern fountains, it offers a relaxing ambiance with its gentle burbling waters.
It is small and very understated - as many things here in the midwest are - as well serene and very poignant. Moving. As it should be. This is not meant to be grand, but more, a reminder to honor those who have not only fought bravely, but given the ultimate sacrifice. It is elegantly simple, and stacked on levels as if into a hillside, keeping nice site lines with the surrounding area. In a "City of Fountains" those here are quite modern, and listening to them is very relaxing. Low maintenance landscaping helps add an again, simple beauty. Parks and rec, or perhaps volunteers keep it well maintained. It should never go in disrepair. If you know a veteran let them know your appreciation.

Great tribute to those who served in Vietnam. Cool fountain also.
Jeremy B — Google review
Nice waterfalls and is usually clean for the most part.
Porsche S — Google review
It's always a moving and meaningful experience. We were disappointed the fountains weren't operational.

Being a soldier in having my father and my father's father and now my son's all things soldiers in arms dedicated to the protection of the United States I'm very proud of my son's carrying on the Legacy showing patriotism loving the US of a. The one monument is very moving and sentimental for all those who served
Kc P — Google review
Much respect to the vets, remember watching the news about soldiers still coming back/ being found in the early 80s. But could use a little more upkeep there in honor of those whose names are on that wall
Edward H — Google review
This Memorial to Vietnam War veterans is a lovely spot in the spring and summer. The water fountains burble just enough to cut through the traffic noise, and the memorial's wall of names is an excellent backdrop to the fountains. I have seen vets of multiple wars having reunions.

The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception is a beautiful and peaceful place where Catholics from all over the world come to pray. It is decorated with beautiful artwork and is a great venue for religious services. The Pieta, an iconic statue of Jesus Christ holding his dead mother in his arms, is a highlight of any visit.
We went in for mass while visiting from Texas. Such a beautiful cathedral with so much history. The priest greeted us as we were leaving. Will return while in town for the next month or so.

We brought the kids to visit Father Kapaun's tomb. We were welcomed warmly and enjoyed praying and looking around the beautiful church. Easy parking. Plenty of signs to show the way to Father Kapaun's Tomb. We enjoyed the questions to get the code to unlock the door 😊 (though it was open when we went anyway.) Great visit, definitely recommend for anyone on pilgrimage. Thank you!
Anna J — Google review
You don't need tickets for entering the cathedral. That's false information. From feeding people to whatever the calling may be you can find me somewhere.
Stephanie M — Google review
A holy and beautiful place! I can't wait till the work on the dome is finished and we can move Mass back into the sanctuary. ❤️
Margaret S — Google review
Beautifully decorated and feels peaceful inside. Loved the view of the domes and pillars. The Pieta is always a heart touching image. Loved it.
