Exceptional service and incredible food! I've eaten at New York twice now and can only recommend it. Both times we were treated to really friendly waiting staff and mouth-watering food. The food is exquisite! Amazing. Here on business and there are few good restaurants in Bloemfontein but New York Restaurant (why that name? I don't know) has quality food in a good indoor setting. I tried to search for other places on Google and many of the places that came up were not good (I drove to them). Gave this place a chance and I'm impressed with the food. The service has also been quite pleasant. I had fish, the 200g king klip and it was not disappointing. It was served with 4 sides, which came as standard and everything tasted good. I was even persuaded to have baked cheesecake for dessert and that too was gorgeous. The style is more dark brown leather and white cloth on tables.... relatively unassuming, perhaps stuffy but ok. It's not packed, I'm here on Wednesday night so not sure how it it for the rest of the week. It's got a smoking section by the bar and an outside facing section by the "stoop" (South African slang for balcony type place). Next time I am here I will probably visit this place again. Definately a 5/5 overall. What a beautiful shop. Fantastic ambiance with natural tranquil settings outside and fun decor inside. Service by Tshepo was absolutely perfect. Ordered take away pizza but what a treat. One of the best pizza's I've had in SA and I travel all the time. Gem of a shop. Thank you for sharing this treasure in Bloem.

If you’re looking for a romantic evening out with your partner or even just a solo date. Bella Casa is your best bet! A proper authentic Italian restaurant. The Mushroom Rosotto with Truffle oil was absolutely Devine! The pepperoni and chicken pizza was also Devine! I also had the Ameretto Crème Brûlée which was so delicious! Definitely coming back for more

First time coming to Rocco Mamas and I must say Everything is a 10. We were greeted when we entered the Restaurant and the ambiance was great. The food definitely lives up to its expectations. We had a manager by the name Of Neo who did come check on us and told us about the App and free waffles. If that isn’t great service I don’t know what it is.

It's a really great spot with an eclectic yet cosy feel with all the art on display. Lovely, flavourful food - definitely would recommend for vegetarians as well. I thoroughly enjoyed my vegan gnocchi and the milkybar cheesecake.

Iewers Nice , is a wonderful mix of Ambiance, Good food and being a Safe space . I wonderful place for your inner Bohemian . Their carrot cake is easily the best I've ever had in Bloem .The owner,Andries and my waiter for the day ,Nathan, made this feel more like a visit to understanding friends than a restaurant visit . They aim on being a safe space and they have more than achieved it . Really enjoyed the insightful and personal conversation I had with everyone, easily felt like I had known them for years .A lifetime even !

Food is great and tasty. But the service is insanely slow. I’m not sure if it’s because it was rugby weekend but it took really long. I saw one customer just send his entire plate of food back because he had waited over an hour and left It’s in a great location with nice views, but would be a good idea to have outside heaters, it gets really cold next to the water in winter

A great spot to have a meal!! The view is stunning with lots of birds on the water. Smell is not great though. The service was great and the food was excellent. We will definitely be back when traveling in the area!! I can highly recommend spending so time here

I love ships and the one displayed was inviting for me and I heard the outside view is worth it and so it was indeed....... The fries were really nice and crispy, the vegetables were also nice buuut...... the rest of the meal was disappointing. The steak(well done) was dry and had no flavour, the prawns and calamari turned out oily and weren't fresh, together with the lemon. Was really looking forward to an inhouse juice but they served one of my fav brands, so that's awesome. One of the employees(guy) came and took sauces from our table without saying anything to us, while we weren't even done. Of course I asked another employee (lady) to get us the sauces and she did. Overall experience, disappointing.

Such great potential jet the food is not to standard ( especially what you get for the PRICE you pay) the staff is not really helpful and friendly. I do allot of posting of nice restaurants and have to say for the food and the staff I will consider other restaurants in the area for the view, if you are fortunate to dine while the sun is setting then this is really nice. Red and yellow sky say good night to you while you have a slight breeze of the water in front of you. Just a shame that the staff leave the umbrella hanging to the side to block the view. Note that this was my experience (×2) and you might be in luck with a better one.

Its a beautiful restaurant. Very professional, were even seated right away. However it felt like we were not really a priority at this restaurant. When you order a starter it should be served before the main course and not with it. Furthermore food was great and they even put on some rugby which was appreciated.

The service was extremely slow even though the restaurant was not busy. Foods are so-so. The bone marrow had a strange taste, and the spaghetti was overly oily 😕

Went for dinner. Staff were supper friendly and help-full. Had a seat by the window and could keep an eye on my car outside although there is car guards to look after my ride. Drink order was fast and my steak was made to perfection. I can really recommend the Longhorn Grill for your next steak.

Use to enjoy beef ribs from Black Steers long time ago, until they closed down. Then I could not find it anywhere else for decades. Now many years later, I managed to find it again at Longhorns and tastes even better! Great place.

We were looking forward to this restaurant based on past reviews, but it was such a disappointing experience. The service was underwhelming and the medium fillet steak we ordered was tough and well done.

We arrived at 19h30 after booking and ordered within 15 minutes, at 22h40 our food started arriving in dribs and drabs. The food was incredibly dry and salty when compared to what we had ordered before. The service from the waitresses was great but the kitchen was ridiculously slow.

Had a wonderfull meal about a month ago. Went back tonight, but it was a nightmare. We waited 2 hours for our food, and it was terrible. I can only assume the previous chef left. The poor waitress was very helpful and apologetic, but it was out of her control. Only one other table occupied.

Was really impressed by this place a couple of months back, but dont think we will be back. When we arrived, there was NO one in sight to seat us. We picked a table and sat down and waited about 5 minutes with still no waiter in sight. We heard some noise coming out of the kitchen, and went there and the waiter was sitting playing on her phone. We ordered and the steak I got was very very tough and chewy and overcooked. Ordered medium rare and it was well done. Waiter also dissapeared until our meal was finished. With so many great restaurants in Bloem, I will not waste my money or time again here.

Don't think this venue is able to cater for weddings in large quantities food order was a mix up. The room has no ventilation. The snails were off. Food came out in drops and drabs. Some of the food was nice. But over all a dull experience. And also just one unisex bathroom made ques for the guests at the wedding... And the kitchen is durty mess all in the floor, dead rat. Was supposed to be a celibration but turned into a dramatic experience for the newly weds and there family's...

They would not accommodate 14 patrons in one table or let us join the tables in a T or L shape. They would prefer that we left rather than accommodate us. The manager stared at us and was shaking his head. As we were leaving we heard the manager saying " good luck finding another place to eat." The reality was that we went to Primi Piata and they could not do enough to accommodate us. A happy ending to the evening.

Lovely atmosphere. We had the crispy chips, C&C schnitzel and the Paris stuffed fillet. Crispy chips was not too crispy, rather dry. The C&C schnitzel was delicious, a perfect dish. The Steak wasn’t too tender but the filling made up for it. Altogether a great place to dine.

Very likely place, seems like local love to be around here. However I didn't have an good experience as the fish I ordered were way too salty, the garlic butter too much salt again. I understand the server trying to be friendly and helpful, but I really don't need him to come to the table so often (at least 5 times for that meal to ask is everything okay). The desserts was alright, but it tasted slightly burnt. Other than that, I would give this restaurant a try if I ever go again.

The atmosphere was amazing. I and my boyfriend went there to have a birthday dinner. The waitress was amazing but if we needed her attention my boyfriend had to constantly stand or fetch her. When the food arrived we felt robbed honestly 🤣 we ordered the perfect catch platter and got the opposite. The platter on the advert looked like it would be enough to be shared between 2 people, now tell me why did we get food that wasn't enough. We had to ask the waitress if she was sure if that was or food. The rice was not even enough. We had to leave and get McDonald's 😪 i think that there would be have been a difference if we got our food on aplatter like advertised unlike on a pan which limited the food to be served. I don't think i will be returning there anytime soon. The food took too long to be prepared almost an hour, i wanted to get dessert but after what i got i was ready to leave the restaurant. But thank you for the experience.

Loch Logan Ocean basket, I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with not one, but two recent visits to your restaurant — on Friday, 25 July and again on Sunday, 27 July. Both experiences were extremely disappointing and have left me questioning whether I will return. On 25 July, I ordered the High Tide Platter , and from the start, the service was poor. I was initially attended to by three different waiters, creating unnecessary confusion, and then was left waiting far too long for further assistance. The buns were hard, and the overall quality of the service was unacceptable. I had planned to order a cocktail after my meal, but due to the frustrating and inconsistent service, I decided not to order anything else. It completely ruined the experience. Despite my hesitation, I returned on Sunday, 27 July, only because my child insisted. Unfortunately, this visit was no better. Once again, the buns were hard, and the food was smothered in so much sauce that my daughter couldn’t even eat her meal. What upset me even more was the way we were treated upon arrival. I asked to sit outside, but was told there were no tables available. I then specifically asked to be seated inside with the request that if a table outside opens up, I would like to move. While seated, I clearly saw a table outside become available. When I asked again, the guy insisted there was still no space. A family that arrived 15 minutes after us also requested to sit outside but there were still no table and they sat across us. Eventually, the waiter gave them the exact table I had asked for, which was blatantly unfair and unprofessional. The waiter was rude, dismissive, and lacked basic manners. This level of poor customer service, combined with substandard food quality, is completely unacceptable. I left both visits feeling disrespected, disappointed, and angry. As a paying customer, I expect better, especially when I give a place a second chance and get treated even worse. My friend and I were both so disappointed and in disbelieve because we have been treated like this twice? And the second time with my daughter? Utterly disappointed!

The food and atmosphere were amazing, but we received the worst service from Lulu, the waitress. She showed us to our table, and when she came to take our order, she was already rude. Yesterday my friend and I went to Ocean Basket for lunch to celebrate my birthday. When we got there none of the waiters paid attention to us so we walked in and seat ourselves. A waiter attended to us 5 minutes in and gave us menus and left, we waited about 30 minutes and didn't get any service. Another group came into the restaurant a couple of minutes after us and there were escorted to a table and their orders were immediately taken and they were served within 15 minutes. That is when we decided to leave because there was clearly no service problem, we were just being singled out and treated horribly. After standing up to leave no one attended to us or tried to ask why we decided to leave including the waiter who was supposed to be serving us, instead he was just there sitting and watched us walking out without saying anything, he did not even apologize. What was worse was that the restaurant was practically empty, there was no reason for the service to be as horrible as it was yesterday. As a regular customer of the store I am very disgusted by the behavior of this restaurant and also truly disappointed. I definitely won't be going there anymore if this is how they treat customers.

I ordered the beef burger and I loved the sauce, the texture and flavor. The water isnt nice, the mango smoothie was delicious. The ice cream is so amazing and fulling and every bite is something but it's too much for one person and too much but really good.

I recently visited Euro Caffé again after two years, and I must say my experience this time was far better than previous visits. From the moment I walked in, the service was absolutely exceptional — truly out of this world. The waiter was attentive, friendly, and made me feel very welcome. The food was equally impressive — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Overall, I had a very pleasant experience and would definitely recommend Euro Café to anyone looking for great food and excellent service.

This used to be my favourite breakfast buffet spot. Until this year. I took my family there who had visited all the way from Durban. We had 3 children, one was 8 months old and 2 were 11 years old. My daughter is tall, but you can see she is a child, it’s obvious. The manager (A white lady) made a very suggestive comment about my daughter’s appearance and said that we should produce proof that she is really a child. And then after she threw so many rules at us that i had NEVER heard about since I always went to Euro in the past. Like the fact that kids cannot go back to dish up at the buffet after they come back, and that we can’t share our food with the 8 month old. We had to pay full price for her also. After that? I am not suggesting that place to anyone or am I setting my foot back there again.

It was my first time at the restaurant. We were served by Junior with dreadlocks, he seemed to be a chef more than a waiter. The meals we ordered were oxtail and a meal of steak, hake and prawns, definitely a good choice, we couldn’t even finish the food as the portion was big. I recommend Euro Caffe

A lovely place with great music and atmosphere. You have a choice of sitting on the couches which is great if you're just there for the cocktails. Large variety of affordable food and drinks available. I had the calamari and prawn combo, with an amazing lemon butter sauce. Prawns could have been better though.

My family and I were on our way back home to JHB from a week in Plett and had the most beautiful experience on our last day of travel in Bloem. We were met by the owner who welcomed us so warmly. The entire experience was exceptional. The coffee was amazing! The food was so interesting and flavourful. The lemonade was the perfect end to the meal. Will definitely be back! ♥️

I loved CoffeeTalks café. It was my first time. I was welcomed so warmly. I enjoyed their Sunday buffet. More than anything I loved the space, the vintage and rustic look, the gentle calm music. It felt like home. So I highly recommend. I’ll definitely be a frequent visitor.

It is a soul fulfilling place to visit. Feels like a home, a place were you can just relax. The food is extremely good as well as the beverages available. The scenery and atmosphere are to die for. It is the place to go unwind and breathe. I would highly recommend to anyone who struggles with anxiety and depression because of the healing aspects of visiting this coffee shop. It was horrible. Lisa is very rude and does not even listen to complaints. I ordered a platter for 7,it came in a foam pack after paying R300. Presentation is bad and Lisa said she is too busy I should what's app her when I called and she said it's not her fault, I should take up my complaint with Mr Delivery. I am really dissapointed. It was my first time ordering there but I was never expecting this and the after sales service just made it worse. The only thing she had to do was listen but she was more angry than I was. I have the picture of my order and can share it if it's needed

I’d come back for the sushi, delicious and well executed. The food however was below average, cold prawns, hake and calamari overcooked. Saved by good sushi, dessert and cocktails. The dessert was great but when ordering deep fried oreo’s I’d expect the original one not the golden one. Service was average. For such a great location and setting within a mall, the restaurant can definitely up its game.

We arrived at the restaurant at around 17:45, and waited about 5 minutes by the entrance waiting to be seated or addressed at least, but all the staff were busy around us, passing by us like we were non-existent. We then thought maybe this is the kind of restaurant where you just seat yourself, and so we went inside and got a table to sit at. Only then did one of the staff members approach us and tell us that the empty tables were booked, and they had no available unbooked tables and so we’d have to wait for a table to clear. This should be communicated as customers are arriving at the restaurant by the entrance. The pizza was just okay, our server Viola gave excellent service, even though she was juggling multiple tables.

Enjoyed the pizza. I am tempted to say they have the best of all pizza spots in RSA. The only thing I didn't like, even though I understand, was that the waiter was too busy and didn't serve us like we the only customers. But he did try. It was packed.

Upon arrival I specifically asked for a table with a power supply, so that I can charge my laptop and work while waiting for the kids. 2 Tables where available, but neither of the power supplies was in working order. The staff did not offer to further assist and could not worry less. Our waitress did not introduce herself and was not friendly at all (Yonela from her nametag). Food and drinks was quick and tasty. Table was not cleaned - all dirty glasses and plates stayed on the table untill I had to ask for take away containers that never arrived and I had to ask again. Major and LOUD discussions amongst staff was held at the till point right by our table - VERY noisy. No second drinks or anyhing else was offered. VERY dissappointing experience on a Friday afternoon when it was not even busy... you would expect excellent service!

Panarottis really hit the spot! The pizza was delicious, cheesy, fresh, & full of flavour. The shop is super clean to be honest and has that cosy, welcoming vibe that makes you want to stay longer. Honestly, it’s the perfect place to grab a meal with friends or family. I’d totally recommend it. 10/10, I’ll definitely be back for more!

Well done on the new revamp. We decided to try Copper again after not visiting for quite some time due to exceptionally bad service in the past. Previously, there were always mistakes, problems, or extremely long waits just for a drink. This weekend we visited again with big hopes, and I must say—the new place looks absolutely beautiful. However, the biggest issue remains: Copper is severely understaffed for the number of guests you have. While there are runners, it seems the waitresses rely on them to deliver orders correctly, but unfortunately, that’s not happening. Food and drinks arrive at the table in drips and drabs, and orders often come out completely wrong. To give just two examples from our visit: We ordered 3 cream sodas, 2 beers, 1 whiskey, still water, and a Coke Zero. What we received was 1 Fanta, 2 beers, 1 whiskey, still water, and a Coke Light. We ordered 5 Cactus Jacks and instead received 5 oyster shots. And these weren’t the only mistakes we experienced that evening. So, while the revamp may have improved the look and feel of Copper, it unfortunately hasn’t improved the service. This is a serious issue that needs to be addressed—especially on busy days—if you want customers to return. Sadly, I’m not sure if I’ll be visiting again anytime soon.

I absolutely love everything about this place! The food was and always is delightful 😊 Their cocktails are super yummy, and beers are always cold. Service is prompt. The weather was cold, but they made fires, and we were comfortable. It's always worth it to pop in here when in town. Definitely recommend Copper Clover to anyone! #Cheers , till next time!

Nice place but indoor smoking(and there is a lot of it) in an establishment that is at least part-geared towards families with kids(huge amazing play areas both indoor and outdoors)—in 2025–is a disappointment. It was hard to runaway from the smoke as there was a smoker at almost every other table. We were told that they will soon prohibit indoor smoking. I really hope they do that as this is a great place.

We attended the re opening of the newly renovated venue. The improvements are stunning creating a festive and inviting atmosphere. The service is excellent. The food is delicious! We will be back...thanks!

Update: I ordered the same meal on 17/01/2025 and the baked potato smells like a bin, so it was definitely not safe to eat. Was in a hurry there was no time to complain, neither did the staff ask why the meals were not finished. The food and service has been great. I been there on 2 week nights. Have not tried a weekend, breakfast or a visit with kids. Parking is available across the road.

Best Spur in Bloemfontein. Sarah, our waitress is fast, efficient and Knowledgeable. The Manager is also constantly involved from following up or cleaning tables. Play area is safe and close so you can keep an eye on the kids. This is our new place to go.

Golden Nugget Spur has always been my go-to breakfast spot during our family road trips to the coast. The prices are reasonable, and the food is consistently tasty and fresh—especially the coffee, which is always a highlight! I’ve only visited this branch between 8 AM and 10 AM, right after opening, before it gets too busy. While the restaurant is generally quiet at that time, I’ve noticed that the wait time for both the food and the bill tends to be longer than expected. This minor inconvenience is the only reason I’ve held back from giving a full 5-star rating. That said, the staff more than make up for it with their friendliness and helpfulness. The bathrooms are always neat and clean, the indoor play area offers ample activities for kids, and the surroundings are beautiful, creating a pleasant atmosphere. A special mention goes to Abigail, who went above and beyond by making my son’s experience truly memorable. She happily played PlayStation with him during our visit, and he left beaming, thrilled to have made a new friend. I’m already looking forward to our next visit to Golden Nugget Spur. It’s always a wonderful start to our family holidays!

This Spur never fails to disapoint. Their portions are minute so we had to get McDonalds after our "200gr" steak. Poor food at astronomical prices. The plate in the picture is a saucer. If they are going to charge decent retaurant prices they should deliver decent food. Rather try one of the many other options.

We were on our way back from vacation and stopped at Golden Nugget Spur for lunch. We have two toddlers and visit Spurs quite often. This was the best Spur experience we've had by now. The play area is magnificent for the kids. Mpho, our waitress, was friendly and helpful providing excellent service. We received our food fast and it was delicious! Spur is our go to as a family for many years and we have wonderful family memories. For mother's day we unfortunatly had not a very good experience and I would like to share with the hope that it might be something that can change. In my occupation I'm a manger myself and I understand the pressure of working with staff and keeping public happy at the same time and things must go as smooth and excellent as possible. Since mother's day was busy I understand you want to get food out as quickly as possible and 100% quality but the manager who is standing at the grill is screaming so loud to call the food on and off and getting the waiters to collect that it felt as if we are at an auction and with times I could not even hear the conversation around our table, and no we weren't sitting next to the grill, he was just screaming so loud. At 2 occations staff was placing people at tables that was resereved and a manager will fight with the waiter, talking really bad to them. One was even pointing the waitress in her face. This happended right infront of our table. Really people. Please take your staff aside and sort it out. Our family came to spoil my mom for the special day, but it ended up us just rushing to finish our food and leave. Our waitress was a darling and her service excellent and the food amazing. I'm asking to just be mindful about certain things. Yes you want things to happen correctly and quickly to serve as much people as possible but rember we still want to enjoy the experience.

Realy great change to my last visit. I have been looked after since I arrived untill we left the shop. Our waiter was hands on from the start and made sure that we had our drinks an made sure that our plates was set correctly and on a timely manner. From my side you realy deserve the prayse thanks we ha an great evening.

If you are traveling through Bloem and need a place for kids to stretch legs (or to just get out of the house if you live in the area), look no further. This must be the most spectacular play area I've ever seen at a Spur! Or any other restaurant for that matter. Huge jungle-gym complex outside, with green carpet underneath and shaded nets over the top. Although, I don't know how much they will help mid summer in Bloem... Inside there's also a play area for smaller kids as well as a few games. Definitely recommend it if you have kids. The only thing I would recommend is placing a few tables closer to the playing area for parents to keep an eye on younger kids. It is very close to the N1 for people passing through.

Very good service from Amelia the manager and Lindiwe whom served us. I ordered something not on the menu and with a smile they gave me what I wanted.

Asked for a medium to well egg, they gave me well done, and they didn’t bother to grill the tomato. They also bagged my food for takeaway despite me asking to be seated and when I asked for it to be plated, they wanted me to plate the food on the table.

This Wimpy is a roadside diner. It is not a fine dining establishment. My requirements are standard food prepared adequately and fast and friendly service. The service at Kroonvaal (driving north) was friendly and efficient. I ordered before going to the bathroom and my hamburger and chips were almost on the table when I returned. The chips were freshly prepared and not reheated. It was unacceptable that there was no Coke available. Ample parking available and clean bathrooms on the premises. Wheelchair friendly.

We hosted our Women's Day event at Koekela on the 8th of Aug and Gabrielle and her team, as always, went all out! They decorated the tables beautifully according to our theme (it looked stunning) and presented the most delicious and scrumptious pastery treats that looked and tasted out of this world. The thing that stands out most about Gabrielle and her Koekela team is that the quality and service is always consistent. I applause you Gabrielle. My baby sister, who's doing her matric needed change of scenery and we visited this place for the first time ❤️ lol I was a bit skeptical cause we didn't make reservations we just walked in and maaan what a warm welcome we had! Maybe it's the name that threw me off, but with a name like EATALIA😍🤤🥳, I expected an out of Italy experience...or at least as close to it as I can get from across the Mediterranean! Instead, what I got was a not-so-far-from-a-Dr-Oetker-frozen-pizza experience.🙆🏿‍♀️👀 I deliberately ordered the Blue cheese pizza to experience as much taste stimulus as could be garnered from baked dough and savoury toppings, but it turned out to be quite underwhelming. The one cool thing about the restaurant is the kiddies arts and crafts section called Craftalia. Kids can paint clay and wooden sculptures, as well as pencil cases and pillow cases. Service was good and the restaurant is fairly priced.

The place wasn't crowded at all. We got enough space to sit and eat. Although the kids playground was very loud since it's not a big restaurant and it's not separated by anything. The food itself was okay but not too great. The pizza was almost cold and the pasta isn't very well spiced. Had to add lots of salt, pepper and garlic to it for some taste. The staff was very friendly but also took long to bring drinks and food.

Just sad they don't have dairy or lactose free milk options and mostly serve food with red onions (allergy) but other than that they do also have a great selection of daily specials. I went to Urth the other day on a search to find isolated and down to earth restaurants where you can feel grounded and at peace with your thoughts while also enjoying a great meal with great company. Our waiter Tino, was the epitome of hospitable and introduced me to orange cake, a delight I hadn't tried before . I hear they are revamping soon , can't wait to see it !

Parking was a issue with at least three events happening at the same time. The food box we received was pre-packed (understandably so given the number of guests) which unfortunately left the biscuits and chips a bit soggy. The event however was well organized and the staff friendly and willing to assist.

This is a good place to have a great time with friends we experience that its good area just that beverages are a bit expensive.

On our way to Johannesburg; we ordered Nando’s full chicken with sweetcorn and a hotpot from this branch; the food was so disappointing. The chicken was so dry and the sweetcorn was stale and had reddish ends. I requested extra sauce but did not get any extra sauce. Upon collection; my husband double checked with the store assistant if extra sauce was added; they confirmed that there is extra sauce. Could’ve taken a second to physically check. I always double check the order but I was busy in the car. A week doesnt pass by without me ordering Nando’s; be it for my lunch at work or as supper at home but I always have to fight for extra sauce. You might as well charge it extra so that we can pay per ml because having to fight for extra sauce is not cool.

We were charged more than what we were supposed to (individual items instead of combos) and the cashier blamed it on the system, saying that there is nothing she can do. She did not specify which drinks that can be added on the order for R18, we just saw on the receipt that we were charged the actual amount of the drinks (we insisted that everything be changed). When we finally sat down, our food took a while to come and the waitresses kept on passing us, although we had already asked one of them to come clear the table for us (from previous customers' dining). We finally asked the other waitress to clean the mess and to bring our food, and she said she thought we already ate because of the plates infont of us (I guess it didn't matter that we still had a table number with us). When we finally got our food, I just remember my friend getting up, going to the kitchen area to request for whatever she requested (I don't remember what it was) because it was just not coming. Although it was a busy day that day, but we didn't have to feel like we were somewhere we shouldn't be.

The worst Nando’s I’ve been to. It seems like they don’t care at all. When you call and press 4 to share your experience, the call drops — like they don’t want to hear it. Today I ordered extra hot quarter legs with extra sauce and peri chips, and got a breast with regular chips. A few weeks ago, I bought two Boujee Bowls. One was burnt. The restaurant is bigger than it looks. The aesthetics are absolutely so cute. The food and service is top tier; although it does take forever to arrive. However, it is worth the wait. I definitely recommend the bean curd sushi, it was absolutely amazing and at such an affordable price. Restaurants with impeccable services AND food at an affordable price are a rare find in Bloem. So I will definitely be visiting again.

Absolutely devine restaurant. We went here for Mothersday and there was a huge waiting line. I guess we should have booked so thats our fault. With the restaurant being fully booked we still received good service and my pizza was next level! I cant wait to visit again to see how it is on a normal day. Ohhh a huge plus that the seating area overlooks the airfield so you can constantly enjoy aeros landing and taking off. Beautiful Restaurant. Great-tasting food. A little improvement on service time would be appreciated. Our waitress took long to take our order, we waited for over 18min for our drinks and when they came , the order was incorrect. I had to pay for a drink I didn't order. We felt neglected by her to a point that we requested assistance from another waitress.

What an amazing venue, welcoming, excellent food and great service! I can imagine this place being popular over weekends and holidays. Kid and pet friendly. Overlooking long flat stretches where runways lurk. We enjoyed the best meat platter ever! An absolute gem of a place!

Its been a while since we found a gem like this here. Being new and exploring in the area has been a blast. And a family restaurant like this is rare. Great playground for you're children. A band or musician playing in the background. Drinks on tap,and very delicious food, i usually judge a place based on t-bone. And boy did it not disappoint. I definitely recommend 👌

You guys! This is a perfect place for parents with energetic kids! They have everything! They have zip-lining, they have an awesome playground, bikes for little kids, parachuting, the list is endless!!! I'm guessing there's live entertainment from time to time, as well (I noticed a stage on the times I went), and the bar is obviously amazing! If you wanna come watch the match while the kids play, this is the place to do it. Plus the staff is really helpful with the little ones. It's just super kid friendly and accommodating for parents. I recommend this place for some fun in the sun!

Absolutely horrible service, The drive through does not even have a staff watching the window ,stood there for more than 20 min and stilo no service,cars behind me were aslo getting impatient and left .I aslo left and while i was driving out a staff came out by fie collect window and sweared at my in Seshoto ,Thinking probably because im white i wont understand him .Worst experience I ever received. I would not recommend buying at Steers Showgate. The service are so slow when there is not much people. The workers doesn't look like they want to work. Tonight we bought Wacky Wednesdays. The burger are so dry. After two or three bites my mouth were so dry. There was not much sauce on the burgers. When I buy at other steers in Bloemfontein the burgers are so saucy and messy. You need tissues for your hands. But with Steers Showgates burgers you don't need tissues. Last time I gave a poor rating. But this time even poorer. If I could give zero stars I would have done that. Very disappointing in how your service and food has change in the last year.

Many of the staff will try various ways of upselling their products, bear this in mind if they ask you something like "one extra cheese or two?" The toilet in the rooms didn't flush, tried complaining but no one could assist, had to use the bucket system .The linen in the bed wasn't changed for 8 days had to ask housekeeping to change it. Only their breakfast was nice. They don't give access to a microwave to warm up your supper if you buy outside. I stayed here for 12 days. The longest 12 days of my life.

I had a very disappointing experience with the management team regarding how they handle customer issues. It is unacceptable for a hotel manager to refuse to communicate with a guest simply because the guest raises valid points or questions hotel procedures. To date, the management has failed to take accountability for the matter that was referred to them, which reflects poorly on the professionalism and customer care standards of the establishment.

I had a disappointing experience with the booking process. After making a reservation, I realised the dates were wrong but the booking confirmation had no link to modify it. When I contacted reservations, I was told hotel policy does not allow them to change online bookings. This left me having to pay for a second booking to secure the correct dates, meaning two bookings were charged under the same name while only one room was used. I reached out to management directly but my request for assistance has not been addressed.

President Hotel at Bloemfontein was a real disappointment. We saw the hotel while on Naval hill reserve. The hotel looked nice, but our stay was far from nice. After spending seven hours on the road and arriving at 14h00 the rooms we booked were not ready for check-in. So, we waited about 30 minutes. The TV’s reception on most of the channels were not watchable - could not be viewed, there was no movie channels only sport and new channels. No Wi-Fi in all 3 rooms. Breakfast was a very limited buffet on the first day. My colleague was advised he could only have two eggs. Very limited food for a vegetarian – in fact nothing suitable for a vegetarian. The chef made a cheese & veg sandwich which was toasted on the same area where the eggs were fried. On the 2nd day there was no buffet, and the menu was even more limited. The cost of each room was about R 1600-00. Overall, highly priced. My room did not have a safe to store valuables. If you are looking for a place to stay at Bloemfontein. This is NOT the place to stay!

The hotel is dirty, neglected, toilets, heater, aircon don't work. There is no hot water to shower. Breakfast and dinner advertised is a scam. Not organized. I paid for dinner but ended up eating samp as this was the only item on the dinner menu. Too over priced as there is no value for money.

The bed sheets had stains. The kettle-are a health hazard, very dirty. The worst part is the hotel management and staff. Imagine having morebthatn 10 people complain in one night and the management is doesnt care to be present or even pick up their calls. Dont waste your money here. Imagine being told to sleep in a romm without a working toilet coz maintenance only comes in the morning. You pay for services you will not get

It's located outside of town but less than 10km from CBD, the place is well kept it gives that peace of mind. There is ample of parking for conferencing might get to see springboks rooming around. In the conference room just bring your own sound system. The food was OK guess it depends on what one request for their menu.

Lala Dene Lodge has always been my go to place for accommodation in Bloemfontein. Not only is it positioned perfectly for restaurants, and the mall but the premises itself is one for the books. Lala Dene Lodge has incredible personnel, and the latest security upgrades are truly appreciated. There is privacy and comfort. The rooms are beautiful and neat. I can say a lot about this place...It's been been my go to accommodation since 2021 so it must be quite excellent...Price, Comfort and Service⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I slept overnight, and my first impression was how safe and secure it is. Upon entering, I was very impressed. The place is very clean and neat. The receptionist was very friendly. And the breakfast was lovely. It was a bit disappointing, though, that there weren't any mats in my room, and they put a towel on the floor in the bathroom instead of a mat. I will definitely be coming back.

First time I ordered I also waited 3 hours after I gave up and ordered from another steers the driver pitch up. I will most definitely never order from Steers Bayswater ever again.

Worst stay ever, half the time the TV/Wifi didn't work. They treat you like a child when it comes to the aircon, you have to phone them to switch it on, and then they turn it off at 2 am, so you wake up because the room is to hot... the one morning we had breakfast the omelet was very under cooked, we had to stay the remaining nights as they don't give refunds. Don't waste your money coming this place as you will not find any form of rest with them.

The worst of all accommodations ever slept in, yhooooo. Linen is no longer white, bed is the most uncomfortable, trust me the floor is very comfortable, the pillows are so hard, i would rather use my fist, no bedside table. No water in the room, you have to buy water for 10r with them, complimentary coffee/tea/milk in the room are hard and old, the place was definitely designed for a student accommodation not a hotel, i slept in room 214 and the room have is in the middle so it doesn’t have a window, now in order for the room to have light they made window high up so the light can come in, but guess what it does not have blinds or curtains so basically at 5am like it or not you will wake up from the light through that window. Guess what will also wake you up, the whole breakfast will be your room the smell, the air conditioning does not work. I wish I could send a vn

Comparing to the price we paid, it's not worth it, no iron in the rooms, no fridge, breakfast is just a normal breakfast I can do everyday at home, no change of menu, the TV plays Netflix only, it's even user friendly, it's not a place a can book again, when you need to iron you must ask and they give you an iron that trips electricity I did not really enjoy the place compared to the price

The hotel has no noise proof, breakfast is not appetising. The bed mattress are hard. There is no complementary water in the rooms. The only good thing about the hotel is the gentleman who works in the evening as he was very helpful. It also near the town. However I will not book this hotel again.

Whether you enjoy Tolkien literature or not, this charming place offers a lovely place to look out over a garden, have a nice breakfast, and have a peaceful evening.

Our one night at The Hobbit Boutique hotel was one of the loveliest we’ve had all year. Fantastic service, very reasonable and took a quick phone call to book. There is so much history and beauty in this space but my overriding impression was that it is a place of such tranquility, I wish we could have stayed longer!

Hobbit house use the Hobbit theme discreetly. Hobbits are merely a theme not a shrine to Tolkien or his book. Each room has a Hobbit character name and image. Beautiful pictures from the book decorate the walls to take followers of Tolkien straight into his magical world. It may even captivate those who know nothing about hobbits enough to buy the book or watch the movie. The Hobbit house is tastefully decorated with old worldly furniture, subtlely coloured wallpaper, leather couches, and it even has homely creaky wooden floors too! The house is filled with an eclectic combination of tassles on chairs, a bar fridge hidden in an old cupboard, delightful window seats, bookshelves and old light fittings, not to mention the interesting collection of headboards and free standing wardrobes. Although Hobbit house has lots of old furnishings it never succumbs to being a stuffy museum. Each bathroom has its own delightful surprize like a colourfully painted "old" bath or the really interesting bath/shower in Frodo room! Everything combined gives Hobbit house a quiet, homely feel. You arrive as a guest, but somehow the house folds its arms around you and makes you part of its gentle heartbeat : footsteps on the wooden staircase, the comforting fireplace, sundown piano playing, the early morning bacon smells wafting through hallways, seeing the lush garden shades and shapes through the wide diningroom windows ...if any of this does not make you feel a little nostalgic and at home, then you should not book at the Hobbit house!

Very centrally situated close to central business district, hospitals and restaurants. Close to schools and University of the Free State. Cosy atmosphere and very readonably priced.

Melanie was super helpful to show us our room. The room we stayed in is grand, the bed is King size with luxury white bedding you get in high-end hotels, finishes in the bathroom and kitchenette is modern with stoneware, aircon to regulate temperature through the night. We slept really well. For dinner we were recommended to order in from a close by restuarant (Mama's Pizza) which was a real treat. Generous portions, had ribs and chips. Classic South African cuisine. The surrounding setting is like a lodge on a game farm. There are lots of bucks (zebras, impalas? Domestic animals, donkeys). We're about to go have breakfast, which I don't doubt will also be great from other reviews and overlooking the farm.

We had a fantastic one-night stopover at Blue Rain Guesthouse during our move from Cape Town to Johannesburg, and we absolutely loved it! The place was immaculate, beautifully cozy, and we had the best night's rest. The staff was incredibly helpful, and communication was seamless from start to finish. What a stunning place—highly recommended for a perfect, restful stay!

My stay was nice until I was given a room that is still work in progress coz a white person was in the room that I previously stayed in-got to breakfast at same time as this group of white people and they got served first there while I waited-I respected myself enough to never book there

Very bad Service, I booked for another room they gave me another room. That white lady working there just accused me of leaving with 2 of their pillows. He didn’t even ask me where they are, she said “ you left with 2 of my pillows” don’t know if it’s because I’m black. I didn’t like that at all. I literally told her where the pillows are.

Never the less, I don't think this qualifies for a 3 star accommodation and the pics are misleading. Please see my attached pics. Beds are rock hard. Overall the stay was comfortable but a few improvements would make a big difference. UPDATE: The owner, Mr Coetzee came knocking at our door, waking up me and my family. He confronted me about my review and wasn't happy about it. Extremely unprofessional.

Rhyno and staff are brilliant. Attention to detail is high on the priority list here. If you have a special request no effort is spared. This is my go-to place whenever I visit Bloemfontein. It is a treat to have breakfast here. Dias Guest House runs like a well-oiled machine.

Worst guesthouse experience ever! Booked 2 separate beds, did not get it and they had to change it on arrival. Horrible bedding - paper thin. Extra blanket horribly, old and smelly. No toilet paper, coffee station not replenished, no amenities in room. Had to ask for everything. No hot water in the morning for shower. Breakfast - tables were not ready, had to ask for mugs, dishes and glasses. No tablespoons Will definitely not recommend - stay away!

I had a fantastic stay! The room prices were incredibly reasonable, and the rooms themselves were clean, well-maintained, and in great condition. The staff were friendly and welcoming, adding to the overall positive experience. The breakfast was lovely, but I would have appreciated a few more options, such as tomatoes, mushrooms, onions, or an omelette station. Nevertheless, the venue was excellent, and I'd definitely consider returning.

Lovely gem of a guest house and conference venue in Spitskop/Vredenhof small holdings. The staff are professional, friendly and provide excellent customer service. The food served here is delicious. The only slight downside is the remote location and last mile gravel road.

The sight of the flying flags of South Africa adds a patriotic and premium touch to the entire experience. What truly sets this hotel apart is its exceptional staff. The reception I received was incredibly warm and welcoming. Every member of the team, from the chefs to the maintenance personnel, was professional and dedicated to providing stellar service. Their genuine care and attention to detail made me feel valued throughout my stay. The hotel itself is a haven of affordable luxury. The pricing is very reasonable for the high-quality experience you receive. My room was immaculate, offering a spacious and peaceful environment. The hotel's location just outside oftown is a major plus, giving you a beautiful experience of nature that you wouldn't normally get in a busy city. I highly recommend taking advantage of their meal packages. The breakfast and dinner were divine, especially the steak. I'm already looking forward to my next visit, where I plan to make use of the spa facilities which I noticed they have on site. Overall, there was truly nothing to complain about—every aspect of the stay, from the clean facilities and excellent service to the fantastic food and great value, exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Bloemfontein, whether for work or pleasure.

Spotless rooms, friendly and professional service. This was just a sleep over and the breakfast was fantastic-should’ve stayed a bit longer . Comes highly recommended.

What a wonderful place!!! The best service and most delicious food. The Staff were all so friendly and accommodating!!! Would 100 % recommend and will only ever stay here in future trips to Bloemfontein! Really a magnificent place with such a friendly atmosphere!! Also dog friendly which is a huge plus!!

The rooms are beautiful, the whole lodge is clean and neat and the staff are friendly however... the wifi is incredibly slow and unreliable, the TV never connected and neither did the aircon. So what is covered by esthetics is loss by amenities.

The room was very clean. It also had the amenities I needed. The staff member present on my arrival had allocated me an upstairs room and could not accommodate my request for ground floor due to a knee issue.

Very clean, neat, homely atmosphere and excellent receptionist (very welcoming arriving after 9pm and helpful). Could be a bonus if there was a mini fridge with some water. But for the price, we received amazing value! Thank you Oakwood lodge!

My stay was alright. 5 nights. The only bad thing is that they made me the exact same breakfast each morning. I selected Breakfast on Sunday when I arrived and that was it until I left on Friday. On 2 of those 5 days I was given yogurt that was past its Beat Before date.

Large rooms, aircon brilliant in Bloem heat. Very friendly and helpful reception - made some changes to assure our family in three rooms had best possible rooms. Modern, neat and clean. Lots of safe parking. Wifi did not work but I did not raise it as not an issue. Very affordable for what we got. Our new first option when coming to Bloemfontein. As I always need minimum 3 rooms. Stayed 3 nights - no issue what so ever. Thank you Oakwood Lodge!

It is great value for money for the overnight rest. I had a small room, which was perfect for what I needed. No frills, no fuss. Friendly staff made checking in a pleasure.

Very neat and comfortable, but no hot water in the shower for the second time. Would expect more.

What at absolute delight from the moment you walk in! Friendliest people I uave met in a long time. Very accomodating, helped us to our room which was spacious, clean easy to access, it felt like home to be honest! Definitely recommend and will stay here again should we come through Bloem! Would recommend everyone that is on their way to Bloem to stay here. Tony and Pauline are so welcoming and friendly. The facilities are in a spectacular condition. This is all you will need on a quick trip.The beautiful garden creates a place to calm down and recoup after a busy day at work. Not to mention the delicious breakfast that’s served. It’s truly a calm welcoming environment that everyone need to experience.

Wooow! What a great place to stay. It's easily accessible from all directions, the people are so welcoming, friendly and it feels like home. The staff is trustworthy and the rooms are clean and warm. Rooms are clean and cozy. The staff are friendly and will walk the extra mile to adhere to personal requirements. The environment is safe and very relaxed. A variety of breakfast options are available every morning. Bayswater Lodge is certainly my preferred choice for my visits to the region.
