The National Institute of the Atlantic Forest in Santa Teresa offers a serene location with hummingbird feeders as its main attraction. Visitors can observe about 8 different species of hummingbirds up close, without any disturbance while capturing photographs. Additionally, there is a family of Atlantic Titi monkeys residing in the park. Although the female monkey passed away recently, guests can still enjoy their presence. The park also features exhibition rooms and a greenhouse for visitors to explore.
A quite place in the middle of Santa Teresa! The main attraction for us were the hummingbird feeders at the far end of the park. A lot of hummingbirds of about 8 different species. They don't bother if you get close to take pictures. But there is also a family of Atlantic Titi (monkey) around, although the female died a few months ago. You can also visit exhibition rooms, a greenhouse etc. The entrance to the park was free.

The visit to Cantina Mattiello during the pandemic was enjoyable, as the time spent in the store was limited. We had a brief tour, read about the products and gained some knowledge about the winery's history. Both employees and customers were diligently following all necessary safety precautions. The complete tour will only resume after the pandemic, but it is likely that we will return to partake in their wine tasting event.

It was such a lovely visit here! They have the Jabuticaba wine which is not made from grapes but the Brazilian fruit and when the first Italian settlers saw this they thought this looks like grape so lets ferment etc. I loved the tour, shop and tasting. Super friendly family run winery!

I recommend a visit to appreciate and taste the wines on offer. (Translated by Google) Very nice place. Very good food and excellent service! I recommend wearing high socks or using insect repellent - there are lots of mosquitoes!! For starters, we tried the taioba dumplings (which are surprising and delicious, especially with the house pepper) and the breaded chorizo (which was impeccable). 10 out of 10 for the starters! For the main course, we tried the chicken and catupiry roulade, the chicken with okra and polenta and the ribs with polenta. Very generous portions, I suggest sharing the dishes easily between at least two people (the roulade can feed 3). As for the flavor, everything was tasty but nothing exceptional like the starters. Rating 7.5~8.0. The wine is "homemade" and smooth! It reminds us of small productions from the interior of Italy. We tried the Seco and Meio Seco, both pleasant. The coffee at the end (complimentary) leaves a lot to be desired! I suggest not drinking it so as not to ruin the experience! Overall, a good restaurant that I intend to return to in the future! Nota 7.5~8.0. O vinho é "caseiro" e suave! Lembra as pequenas produções do interior da Itália. Provamos o Seco e o Meio Seco, ambos agradáveis.

(Translated by Google) My name is Andressa Diniz, I'm married to an Englishman who's very familiar with Michelin-star restaurants. I lived in Europe for 21 years. I decided to take my husband to this winery, which turned out to be the worst restaurant nightmare I've ever been to! First, they brought me the appetizer without a plate. I had to ask for a plate to eat the appetizer. Shortly after the appetizer arrived, the main course arrived less than 5 minutes later. There's no such thing as a main course being served while still eating the appetizer. I asked for the main course to be served because we wanted to savor everything leisurely, taking in the magnificent ambiance. When we finished the appetizer, we asked for the main course to be prepared. To our surprise, the same main course served right after the appetizer returned! My husband's breaded steak was not only cold but extremely tough, and he kept complaining to me. My polenta with chicken and okra was well-seasoned, but unfortunately, the free-range chicken was very tough. When I finally went to pay the bill, after having a serious conversation with my husband, telling him that the scenery was better than the food and that he should stop complaining in my head... I got to the counter to pay for the food and politely explained what had happened. A woman who looked like the cook from the pigsty, very harshly humiliated me in front of everyone, telling me that I was no longer welcome there and that I didn't need to pay the bill and that I should leave! I tried to go back once more to pay the bill, and the same crazy woman continued to treat me with such ignorance. I turned away, already crying heavily, and at this moment I'm returning to the civilization of Itapuã Vila Velha, and I can confidently say that I'd rather die than return to that place! Draw your own conclusions from my experience! Good luck to everyone who goes there! Atenciosamente, Andressa Diniz Scurlock-Jones
