Sports complex
Santa María Polo Club Sotogrande is renowned as one of the most prestigious polo clubs globally, offering thrilling matches and tournaments all year round. Spectators can relish the action from the sidelines, indulge in VIP hospitality, or partake in polo lessons led by seasoned professionals. The club also provides a delightful day out with excellent bar service, live music, and children's activities alongside the riveting polo games.
The heart of all polo matches in Sotogrande. Phenomenal venue - the canchas are pristine. We also love the shopping options each summer and the bar. Food options in 2024 are also better. Free entrance and parking

Fantastic atmosphere and experience, the polo was top class along with the food stalls and bar. Definitely worth a visit either with your family or with friends.
James F — Google review
Not a big polo fan, but when you get a good game it's actually quite exciting... The club is beautiful, great after polo entertainment. Highly recommend.
P. R — Google review
Great Polo Club with plenty of parking opportunities, nice environment. Great spot to enjoy a polo game with a nice drink.
Peter W — Google review
They threw me out for absolutely no reason. The bouncers are full of themselves and won’t listen to you. Threatened to hit me if I didn’t move away from the boundary of the fence which mind you was outside their jurisdiction. Terrible experience, would not go again.

A very enjoyable evening watching the Polo Tournament!
Helen W — Google review
Amazing experience, my first Polo Tournament. I like that place, wonderful atmosphere.👍🐴
Lucie Š — Google review
Lovely day out. Good service at the bars, live music and activities for children as well as the polo games. A drinks/snack trolley was taken around the benches so people could make purchases when watching the polo. 3.50 euros for a decent glass of white wine, 5 euros for a large glass of lager. Nachos, cheese and guacamole for 5.50, children's hotdog with crisps on side was 7.50. So reasonable prices except at craft stalls where many items were ridiculously priced such as 50 euros for a small bag of artisan sweets.

Nestled along the stunning beachfront of Sotogrande, Trocadero Sotogrande is a modern tavern that perfectly captures the essence of Mediterranean dining. This chic beach club is not just about delicious grilled meats and seafood; it also boasts an impressive selection of rice dishes and refreshing cocktails, all enjoyed on a beautiful seafront terrace.
What a fantastic restaurant! Lovely food and what a great view of the sea and Gibraltar! A lovely beach to swim in! Super service! Definitely one of the nicest places to spend an afternoon!
Nauhar R — Google review
The food in itself is good but we only give 3 stars as the choice not so varied for people who are not big shellfish eaters or vegetarians or who love salads. We both had the arrabiatta pasta and it was excellent so 5 stars for quality and 3 for choice. Sushi to start was delicious. The maitre d’/ greeter / host on the night was Fabiola and she was amazing as I had messed up the date of our booking but she was still able to accommodate us at a beautiful table with an amazing view. The restaurant is stunning.
CJ R — Google review
The venue is truly beautiful, but unfortunately the quality of the service has declined in recent years. After waiting over 40 minutes for our table to be cleaned, I finally had to go and get the menu myself. Only then was I told that the table I had been given — despite clearly mentioning that I had booked a regular restaurant table online a week earlier — was actually for a different menu. A real disappointment, as the club itself is stunning.
Sonia G — Google review
First we tried to book and not a single slot available. Then we got a booking by calling them. We arrived 6.30 pm and took a drink first. The cocktails full of sugar (my sex on the beach was the name) and the John lemon was simply watery (25minutes to get them) We've been told that we cannot eat outside as it's fully booked. We've been moved to our table by 7pm, all the outside tables were empty. We ordered food for our child (chicken nuggets and fries) it literally arrived within 2 minutes. That's a microwave cooking dish at 17 eur. Then we've been offered some bread. That's where the tourist trap comes. 3.5eur per piece of dry bread. And of course you will discover that when receiving your bill. Whenever you need to order anything there is 1 guy for the wine only, 1 girl for the food, ans 10 other randomly walking not able to take a si gle order but still coming to your table you don't know why. The croquetas with jamon where full of chewable fat. Then we got the risotto, it was OK. But way too salty and served/prepared on a disgusting uncleaned tray table. We had go ask them to clean prior to serve us. When we asked for the bill we've been charged 10.5 for to chunk of dry bread. One of the waitress started to argue with me saying that everywhere in Spain you pay for bread. First of all that's not the case and if you charge for it then you mention it! She literally told me off and ran to the manager. The manager itself was "sorry" for all what happened and removed the bread price but did not do any gesture for all of what happened and even after mentioning the we still ate inside event hough half of the outside table were still empty when we left. This restaurant wants to get the luxury clients but is not able to handle simple requests. If you don't want to get disappointed while in sotogrande, do not go there!
J. Z — Google review
What used to be our favourite place it changed as one of the rudest staff ever. We waited for more than 20 mins our order to be taken, neither of the hostesses asked why we are leaving the place right after we entered, because nobody served us. We asked 2 waiters to order and they said: Yeah, I will come... without coming for 10 mins. For the pricing of the place it should be a lot better...
Morano M — Google review
I have been to many restaurants of Trocadero in different places, from Málaga port to Marbella... But I think this location is different and really stunning... With the pool side to the great view of the sea.... Recommended 💯
Negin A — Google review
This restaurant was a letdown. The service was slow, and the staff seemed uninterested in helping us. We waited forever for our food, and when it arrived, it was barely warm and lacked flavor. The portions were small for the price, which felt like a rip-off. The place was noisy, with tables packed so close together it was hard to feel comfortable. The decor was bland, and the lighting was too harsh for a relaxing meal. The bill took ages to arrive, and there was a mistake that took too long to fix. I was hoping for a great evening, but this place didn’t deliver. It’s not the worst restaurant I’ve been to, but it’s far from good. I doubt I’ll return unless I hear they’ve made some serious improvements to their service and food quality.
Patrick S — Google review
Our visit to this beach club was incredibly disappointing. A server spilled an entire mango alcoholic drink on a minor in our group, ruining her outfit and staining the clothes of those nearby. Shockingly, we were still charged for both the drink and even the water used to clean her off; completely unacceptable. The staff assumed the girl was at fault for the incident, despite the fact that the drink was clearly spilled on her covering her from head to toe. She had to change clothes and shower on-site. It took multiple employees to take the drink and water off the bill. Dinner service was equally poor: multiple orders were forgotten, and I didn’t receive my meal until long after the rest of my party had finished. For the high end prices, the service and professionalism were well below standard. Staff offered few apologies and seemed indifferent to the issues. Sadly, this place is more style than substance. Management was nowhere in sight and did nothing to remedy the continued issues. Would not recommend.

Nestled alongside the charming marina, Foodisiac Sotogrande is a delightful destination for culinary enthusiasts seeking a cozy and inviting atmosphere. This restaurant beautifully marries the rich traditions of Mediterranean cuisine with global influences, showcasing dishes crafted from top-notch regional ingredients. Signature offerings like wild red tuna crispy sushi and grilled sea bass from Cadiz estuaries highlight Chef Francisco Crespo's expertise.
We really enjoyed it. The breakfast was excellent, and the view of the boats was fantastic. The staff was friendly and efficient. The freshly squeezed orange juice without ice was a big plus for me, as it wasn't diluted. The price-performance ratio was fair, considering the prime location.

The best breakfast! We come back every year while on holiday and always leave very impressed. Great food, lovely service and delicious coffee!! 100% recommend!!!
Paulina M — Google review
Do not miss the homemade sourdough! Great view and the best breakfast in the area! Plenty of options and great service with a smile! Probably coffee should be improved but that's very subjective - I would give 4.5 stars here! I highly recommend this venue and I'll definitely come again! Lovely find!
Marius C — Google review
The food was excellent great taste and beautifully presented. Service was also really good friendly, attentive, and efficient. The beverages were average, nothing particularly special. One major downside was the pricing of the water – charging over €6 for a 1L bottle of filtered water feels excessive and overpriced. That definitely took away from an otherwise pleasant dining experience.
Uchini S — Google review
Easily our favorite breakfast spot in Sotogrande. My family makes a point to stop by at least once a week. Sundays do get busy, so if you’re coming with a bigger group, it’s worth making a reservation ahead of time. The pastries are genuinely the best French ones we’ve had in Costa del Sol. Their barista is a gem. The coffee is always spot-on, and the matcha is great. The Eggs Benedict is the star of the brunch menu. We order it every time without fail. Service is usually quick and friendly, even when it’s packed. On weekdays when the owner’s not always around, things can slow down a bit, but it’s nothing too frustrating, just worth noting. The place is always clean, bathrooms included, which I really appreciate. All in all, a 5/5 from us. Great food, great coffee, and always worth the visit.

Super nice restaurant in Sotogrande port! Excellent food choice, own baked bread! Nice and welcoming service!

Very good breakfast! Well done to the chef! Poached eggs wery good! Also the specialty coffee was ok done.

The food was absolutely delicious, nothing to complain about. We visited twice for breakfast and the service was very friendly. A blonde lady kindly offered to change our table due to the heat and sunlight, which we really appreciated.During our second visit, we asked the waitress twice to bring croissants for the children first, but unfortunately this didn’t happen. We waited around 40 minutes for breakfast, but the lovely atmosphere and beautiful view made up for it. The coffee was also very good. :)

El Gaucho de Sotogrande is a charming and romantic restaurant with a cozy patio adorned with buganvilla trees and candlelit tables, creating a perfect setting for a delightful dining experience. The owners are known for their warm hospitality and accommodating nature, ensuring that even without reservations, guests are promptly seated.
El Gaucho offers an incredible atmosphere for an even better meal. My steak was amazing and they do a great burger as well! If you still have room after the meal the strawberries and crème was the perfect way to end a great meal! The staff is wonderful, and made sure we had an incredible dining experience. I want to plan another trip just to get another El Gaucho steak!!!
Tyler G — Google review
We had an amazing dinner party at El Gaucho de Sotogrande on the 11th of April, and it was a night to remember! Everyone absolutely loved the steak – perfectly cooked, full of flavour, and served with style. The wine selection was also spot on, beautifully complementing the meal. A special mention goes to Jack, the owner’s son, who was simply outstanding – attentive, knowledgeable, and full of charm. He truly elevated the entire experience. Thank you for an unforgettable evening – we’ll definitely be back!
LUISA R — Google review
I cannot speak highly enough about this restaurant! Their service, the team, the food, the atmosphere. All perfect. It is very rare on holiday I will return to the same restaurant twice in one trip, being a foodie you always want to explore, especially with all the great places in Andalucia, however it was a family agreement that the meal was so good the first time we would return on our final night. They delivered back to back. The consistency of the food and service is second to none. I have always thought local family run, good food establishments are more deserving of Michelin stars than fancy tasting menu restaurants. This is the prime example of that. Local produce done perfectly. I don’t have enough words to recommend this place. Just go!
Aaron L — Google review
This is our favorite steak restaurant in both the area and possibly worldwide. We always come back when we're in the area and it never disappoints. If you like great steaks, wine, cheese and real service, visit El Gaucho.
Mike M — Google review
Really great experience here! The steak was cooked perfectly. The sides came out fresh and hot. The staff were friendly and checked in just the right amount. Nice atmosphere, good music, and overall a great spot if you’re craving a solid steak. I’ll definitely be coming back!
Paul P — Google review
Food is really below average. It is definitely not worth the price. I didn’t think that it is possible to serve a mediocre steak in a restaurant so we ignored reviews but this place proved me wrong. Garlic bread that costs 7€ is a Lidl roll filled with some supermarket garlic spread.
Alinid — Google review
El Gaucho is stuck in the 1960's, in terms of atmosphere and menu. The recommended "ribeye" steaks were of poor quality & the corn on the cob came coated in meat taint as the griddle clearly hadn't been cleaned between cooking. Service was good but very overall very disappointing and poor value for money.
Martin M — Google review

Restaurant
Bunker Beach Club is a hidden gem nestled along the serene Playa Guadalquiton, just a stone's throw from Sotogrande. This charming beach bar captures the essence of a classic chiringuito, offering an inviting atmosphere with attentive service and delectable seafood. Guests can indulge in Mediterranean cuisine that boasts unique twists crafted by skilled chefs, ranging from mouthwatering starters to delightful desserts. The experience is enhanced by the option to dine right on the sand while soaking up stunning sea views.
This restaurant is a true gem! The breathtaking views of the Mediterranean and Gibraltar are alone worth the visit. The location is perfect - you can enjoy a delicious meal while watching your kids play on the beach. The food was a hit with both adults and children, and the staff's friendly, welcoming attitude made our experience even better. The combination of spectacular views, quality food, and great service makes this beach club restaurant a perfect spot for a family day out. Highly recommended!
Zygimantas R — Google review
Brilliant beach club. Id say one of the most best situated to enjoy a beach day along the stretch of Costa Del Sol near Gibraltar. Easy to find and get to, parking spaces were filling up by the time we arrived at midday. We had a beach bed, and had it for the entire day which also came with a booked table, and complimentary bottle of water for two and a bowl of fruit. Brilliant service and not to crowded, well enough to enjoy the sea and relax. We also felt comfortable to leave our stuff on the bed and no one touched any of it. Staff were attentive and really helpful. We really enjoyed our time here!

A pristine, peaceful, and almost private beach with a stunning view of the Gibraltar mountains and the Mediterranean Sea. The food was good, the service was friendly, and everything was set up perfectly for a great day. I highly recommend this charming and serene beach and beach club to anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable moments. Day and night

Really nice beach club. We went for lunch. We had a great time. We ordered Angus Burger and Octopus, both were really great. The vermouth is one of a kind, really tasteful, totally recommend it. We spent 50 euros.

We stopped by Bunker Beach Club Sotogrande during a walk along the beach and were so glad we did! The grilled calamari was absolutely delicious, and despite a small mix-up with our order, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!

Hidden gem by the sea Tucked away near the beach, this spot delivers where it counts — good food, fair prices, and a laid-back vibe. It’s the kind of place you stumble upon and end up coming back to. A solid choice for a casual lunch with great value.

Nestled in the stunning Sotogrande Marina, the Real Club Marítimo Sotogrande serves as a vibrant hub for all things water-related. This fantastic watersport center offers an array of activities, from paddleboarding and kayaking to kite surfing and wakeboarding. For sailing enthusiasts, it features a well-regarded sailing school that caters to all skill levels, making it easy for anyone to learn or improve their skills on the Mediterranean waves.

Hetty I — Google review
Normally I love the restaurant at the yacht club but the other night it was just not up to scratch. The waitress who took our order insisted that she would remember all the things we had ordered without writing them down. As a result a lot of mistakes were made and we had to ask numerous times for things that we were still waiting for. The gazpacho was off, it tasted fizzy and was clearly past its sell by date. We sent it back without eating more than a spoonful but we were still charged for it and we did not notice until we got home. The tables were not cleaned promptly so you felt like you were eating in a dirty restaurant. I agree with the other reviewer that when it was a more simple cafe it was better. They have added very strong lights which takes away the charm of one of the nicest settings in Sotogrande. One of the waitresses is excellent (is it Icanna?). She had served us before. She ended up having to apologise that the other waitress had made so many mistakes. I do hope someone from the management reads this and makes more effort to clean the tables and to keep the restaurant looking tidy. They should also insist that all orders are written down.
CJ R — Google review
English breakfast here is great! However do not get lunch here. Ordered the Ribs, and it didn’t even come with any bone (didn’t say on the menu). It looked and tasted awful. They also charged me for bread that I didn’t even want. Service is slow for a place that’s mostly empty. Make sure you only come for breakfast.
Sebastian C — Google review
Used to be great with a great variety of cafe style food at reasonable prices but now it has completely changed. The menu is very typical of most of the restaurants in the area now and the prices are comparable with Sotogrande marina. This used to be a lovely place to go for a relaxed lunch with beautiful views but now it's it just another over priced restaurant but without the ambience of a restaurant. Please back to being a really good cafe, rather than a very mediocre restaurant.
Claire L — Google review

Golf course
Club de Golf La Cañada is a well-maintained golf course located in Costa del Golf. The check-in process was efficient, and the proximity of the clubhouse to the course made it convenient. The greens were fast, and the fairways were lush and green. The layout offers interesting holes with views of pine trees, creating a relaxed atmosphere for players. The practice facilities are excellent, catering to professionals as well.
Great course! A real test with undulations, tricky greens and a wide variety of holes. this course will test every aspect of your game and is a true gem. Lovely family atmosphere around the property as well with brilliant practice facilities. Well worth a visit
Tim L — Google review
Another visit in Costa del Golf this time we played 2 courses, this one was the 2nd. We arrived again about 30 min before game, so no driving again :D, but its really close to clubhouse no need to walk anywhere far. Check-in process was quite fast. We skip the restaurant and went to putting green instead, which I realize was good, cause greens were quite fast compare to other course we played. We played with another couple and have to say that red tees on 1st hole were kind of tough piece for my girlfriend, not very welcoming :D. Course is surrounded with many cork trees like older sister Valderrama, probably as much as difficult, but for better money. From first tee we realize that it will be long day, there were ladies tournament in front of us. Slow game will kill this beautiful game, and pro golfers are not good example how to play fast. Anyway, love the course, many interesting shots again, would be difficult to say which hole I like the best, but not 18th even I made it over the hole, but did not interest me. Honestly I liked 14th and 13th, but that is my opinion. Course is in great shape and I can only recommend.
Milan B — Google review
I booked a tee time and canceled over the phone more than 48 hours in advance — well within their stated cancellation policy. I was told everything was fine. Despite that, I was still charged. When I reached out to clarify, they simply said they would not refund me. Extremely disappointing customer service. If you value clear communication and fair treatment, I'd recommend booking elsewhere.
Mateusz S — Google review
Lovely relaxed atmosphere with great decor and tasty food. The staff are friendly and the wine is cold! What more could you want from the 19th hole?!
Zero G — Google review
Easy to walk. Front nine is reasonable easy, back nine a bit more difficult. Greens are fast, but could have more grass.
Knut S — Google review
Very nice people. Great practice facilities. Hopefully one day I can play the course. The only course in the area I could find that looks after professionals to practice!
Adam K — Google review
Just played la Canada golf today March 30th all four of us weren't expecting much to be fair. But we couldn't have been more wrong, great course great condition tee to green. Evey single hole is different and all the par 3 are quality along with the rest of the holes. I thought the 17th the par 3 for me was the signature hole until i stood up on the 18th tee box. What a finishing hole we definitely will play it again.

Sotogrande Golf, particularly known for the Real Club de Golf Sotogrande, is a stunning golfing destination that combines natural beauty with challenging play. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. in 1964, this par-72 course features wide fairways and fast greens, all set against the picturesque backdrop of the Mediterranean coastline. The course offers a delightful mix of parkland and links-style holes that cater to golfers of all skill levels.
Fantastic golf course! Easy and also very walkable! Fun holes! Some tricky ones! Robert Trent made this an easy one! Signature 7th is fab! Was lying for birdie after a pushed tee shot!

A great American style links having benefitted from course maintenance and management. Quite a few standout holes in particular the par 3’s over water on the back nine. Welcoming and well organised halfway house with Marshall who ensures play is not delayed. First class greens. Scores lower on value but a great course.

Old Style clubhouse with some very nice looking holes. However, 10 of us played last week and unfortunately, the greens were terribly damaged. This is a premium course at €350 per round & wasn’t in the condition one would expect. A couple of inconsistencies in the bunkers also put a downer on the day! I wouldn’t rush back. Finca Cortesin provides better service/facilities at the same price point. Completely understand courses go through maintenance but we were not advised before play. They also charged another €50 for an additional buggy so could 4/3/3. When you charge a group €3500 for 3 tee times give the additional buggy gratis! A real shame, hopefully they look at what other top clubs are offering & step up as the course could be fantastic.

Great course. Par 3s are long but fun. Cool wildlife too, tortoises and fish that climb up walls… 🤔

Wow, what an amazing golf course from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave. Everything is catered for, and the course is a good challenge for any level of golfer you won't be disappointed

Decent parkland course but the greens could be in better shape. Service was wonderful but food options at the turn were pathetic

Popular stretch of sandy beach featuring oceanfront bars & an area with inflatables in the water.
Excellent beach. Shallow area for kids. Very nice and clean. Only thing is - not sure there are any facilities to shower or wash your feet with sand. Or if there was I didn't see it.
Ali K — Google review
Great beach very wide and peaceful. It has great parking, even during the high season and have several restaurants right on the beach. Views of Africa, Gibraltar and port of Sotogrande. Make sure you check the wind before you head out, not only for your convenience but because certain wind will make the beach not so clean. Great place for kids to run and play. It has a playground nearby and a soccer and basketball court as well.

Great beach and good car park

Only beach without stones at water between Malaga and Gibraltar. Just sandy beach and cristal clear water. Max like.

Private golf course
Real Club Valderrama is a championship 18-hole golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr. It's considered a must-visit for golf enthusiasts due to its unique layout with challenging greens and strategically placed trees. Alongside Real Club de Sotogrande and San Roque Club, it forms the renowned Golden Triangle of Golf in the Costa del Sol region. The course is surrounded by lush vegetation, offering picturesque views throughout its 18 holes.
Arriving thrue the security gate in to the back side of the magnificent facility and golf Courteney in the shaded parking two golf cars appear with staff gathering our golf equipment and kindly advice where to enter in to this fabulous course. In the shop you are met with sophisticated kind personnel helping you register and guide you in the luxurious golf shop. Entering the terrace with view over the most perfect ranch, training area and golf course I’ve ever seen it’s well worth starting with a lunch in the Spike bar just in the left corner of the terrace with reserved and polite waiters serving you. A friendly and relaxed tune in to this cocoon of golf tradition and money until you get your 45 minutes of warm up before tee time. Tee up with the course host and your caddie of the day. Yes, you have to have a caddie of you’re new to the course and you need one to help you place the balls and to read the insanely fast and smooth greens. A car gives you the extra time to keep pace and enjoy the course even though I rarely use it other vice. If golf is a main interest in your life or if you just have around 750€ or more to spare for a round of golf, lunch, caddie and cart you should do this! It’s 100 out of 100. An utterly luxurious experience, but most of all…The best golf course I’ve ever played!
Niklas K — Google review
A great golf course with a huge reputation. The condition of the whole course, which is very pretty anyway, is wonderful, and a great pleasure to visit.
Tim M — Google review
As you might expect…. Great golf, a fantastic place to soak up the atmosphere and as long as your course management is on point, you can make a score here even if it is from the amarillas! If you are paired up with players if a different standard then consider getting your own forecaddie. Ours was rushing around trying to keep everyone happy and it added a slightly frenetic feeling to our game. The greens here are very fast but we found them easier to read than say, Finca Cortesin’s grainy monsters. Didn’t use the buggy bar but we did have a 3 course meal after our game. It was the best quality of the week and surprisingly good value. Also this is an easy walk with an electric trolley. Walk if you can, you really get to appreciate the majesty of this place.

Staff are the rudest, entitled people we have come across in Spain. Walked into have a look to see facilities to book group of 4 and we were treated like second class citizens Dressed in golf gear as we just finished playing the best course around at La Reserva where staff r fantastic

Stunning golf course in beautiful condition. The club is very exclusive and expensive but is a must play for the serious golfer.
Ian B — Google review
Valderrama is a cathedral of golf and it was absolutely a privilege to play here. The staff were incredibly accommodating with moving my tee time on short notice when my passport got stolen in the UK back in May. The restaurant on property was wonderful as well and the showers were really nice have after my round. Unfortunately my experience was completely ruined by the worst caddie I've ever had in my life. Caddies are human so the occasional misread is expected, but both myself and another person on my tee time felt he repeatedly gave terrible reads. What was worse was that, on multiple occasions, he started coughing loudly in the middle of my swing and didn't seem to have any awareness about his actions. At the end of the day I'd be thrilled to play here again and would recommend it to anyone, but would also advise you to avoid Esteban as your caddie
Ben C — Google review
The Augusta of Europe was a treat. Miguel, a 4 handicapper was an excellent caddie. Bucket list for sure.

Almenara Golf Club is a stunning golf resort featuring 27 holes, a hotel, restaurants, and spa. It's an ideal destination for family vacations or golf getaways with friends. The course offers beautiful views of the Mediterranean and well-maintained green areas. While the tee boxes may need some improvement, the overall value for the green fee is great. The club provides excellent service and a serene atmosphere for a relaxing game.
Great visit to the Alto Golf course. We received a very warm welcome by helpful staff followed by an amazing day on this wonderful course. The whole course was in great condition and the views were stunning. We were given plenty of drinks to take in our buggy’s and had numerous visits by staff to re stock us with water and bananas. Finished off in the restaurant which had a great selection on the menu. We did mention the signs to find the place could be improved and they are working on this.
John B — Google review
Well, the course is strikingly beautiful and in great condition - however, the amenities are really lacking. No range to warm up on. No chipping green. All they have is a small putting green. No snack stand after 9 holes. The course has a very nice layout but the directions for where to go between holes are quite bad. All in all nice experience on the grass, but not so much out of it.
Alexander D — Google review
We had a great experience at Almanera. The golf was great, better than our experience at one of the more well known and more expensive courses. There’s a new luxury 5* hotel which is part of the property. There is a great restaurant where we had a superb breakfast and post golf drinks. The staff in all places were friendly and very efficient. The don’t have a practice range yet. You need to pay extra to access the pool.

Has been renovated recently, now it’s in pristine condition. Loved the Lagos 9 holes, Pinos is also super nice. Very quiet course, so you can play super fast. Overall amazing setting, seaviews on various tee boxes and just beautiful nature all around. No car noises or anything to distract from the beauty of nature.

Visited the academy today. Wow. It's a great addition to Sotogrande. Top tracer in the bays, tables for food (like top golf, but better), cozy cafe/bar area. Sotogrande SA has done a very nice job.
Ian A — Google review
Out of all the courses in the area the main 3 I would say are San Roque, Valderrama and here: Almenara. It’s comprised of 27 holes and you are given which two 9s you are going to play for the day. I have played Lagos and Pinos multiple times - Lagos has a huge lake in the middle of multiple holes. One of the par 4 dog legs you can reach the green (from the back tees you need about 290 carry and this is very dependent on wind). Green fees are north of €100 but it is well worth it. The 5 times I have played here it feels like millionaires golf as nobody is ever on the course. The fairways are pristine, the bunkers immaculate and the greens are super quick - no bumps and run very true. In general for big hitters the par 4/5s becomes a scoring opportunity- the 3 wood I hit from that fairway is from a dog leg after a drive - was about 280ish yards to the front of the green. Swing is messed up as I need an MRI on my knee hence cutting across as I can’t push down hard from the lead leg so path is going from positive to negative to protect the knee. Never been to the driving range and not even sure where it is. At the main entrance there is a putting green but that’s it. Amazing course to play.

Great course. Well kept. A bit slow on the back nine due to slow parties (hcp limit?) No drink cart, BUT, a (complimentary) banana cart. Lovely views. The best I've played in Spain, almost on par with the courses in Algarve.

Polo Valley in Sotogrande is an enchanting destination that leaves a lasting impression on every visitor. My journey began with the Discovery Program, and after my second visit, I can confidently say that each experience has been nothing short of extraordinary. As a complete novice to polo, I've transformed into a player who can skillfully navigate the field and even score goals! The chance to learn from esteemed players and high-goalers adds an exclusive touch to this already remarkable place.
I am absolutely delighted and deeply grateful for my experience at Polo Valley in Sotogrande. I first joined the Discovery Program, and this was my second visit—each time has been nothing short of extraordinary. As someone who had never held a mallet before, I’ve now become a player who can genuinely follow the ball across the field and even score. The opportunity to receive lessons from renowned players and high-goalers, many with significant handicaps, is something truly unique to Polo Valley. The fact that an absolute beginner like myself can learn and even play chukkas alongside such skilled professionals is simply amazing. The entire experience is elevated by the incredible organization and the warm, family-like atmosphere fostered by the groomers, super staff, and the talented chef. Every aspect, from the accommodations to the care of the horses, is impeccably managed, making each stay feel like coming home.

After my visit to Polo Valley, I have to say I was extremely impressed. All the Polo Valley team are very welcoming, helpful and professional and clearly all have a love for what they are doing. I truly felt their passion was solely geared towards us guests having a fantastic experience, be that when on horse back on the hacks, lessons or during chukkas, to the personal service provided during the evening Asados, of which the food was amazing! Plenty of variety with meats, veg, salad and desserts and above all, fantastic company. Thank you for all your efforts everyone at Polo Valley, I can assure you, I will be back!

We are already planning our next trip to come back, thank you for having us, see you soon! Love the Weinberg family x
