F.H. Gillingham & Sons is quite the General Store! I'd have to say it has everything from general foodstuffs, items for pets, candy and more candy, hand crafted wood, a huge selection of wine, leather wallets, hunting and fishing wear, games, and everything else. They have a super cool original Otis elevator. There's a lot to say about this store, but just go there and find out for yourself.

If you are a visitor to Woodstock, Vermont, step into F.H. Gillingham and Sons. This is my favourite country general store! They practically have everything: Vermont souvenirs, Vermont craft beers, wines, groceries, candies, books, toys, kitchen wares, fishing gear, etc. Every week I drive into Woodstock and visit this store to buy some Moxie soda pop: a New England favourite! If Coca-cola and Dr. Pepper had a love child, she would be Moxie! Visit in December and you will find lots of edible Christmas goodies: German gingerbread and stollen, British Christmas puddings and mince pies. The staff are delightfully friendly and the store has that rustic village charm that feels authentic and inviting.

While in Woodstock, VT last week we stopped in this general store. It is really cool and takes you back in time... Lots of everything there. It's a classic place from a time that is only a memory for many of us. Bought a few items.. you just have to. I'm sure you will enjoy as much as we did.

Such a fun and interesting place! Looks small from the outside but once inside it seems to go on forever. Groceries, fishing tackle, trinkets, clothes, canning supplies and so much more. A don't miss kind of place.

Great little independent bookshop in the heart of the beautiful town of Woodstock, VT. There are a well curated selection of books with something everyone can enjoy, including a section of local history and other non-fiction books, an adorable and fantastic selection of kids & young adult books, and a lovely range of romance books. The employees were all helpful and kind, and the store is dog friendly which was a bonus (as we brought our pup on our trip). There are also greeting cards, stickers, candles, and other non-book bookish accessories. Overall, fantastic little store - highly recommend for anyone visiting the area.

I cannot praise this store enough. It was a VT version of The Shop Around The Corner from You’ve Got Mail. Amazingly knowledgeable staff, a fantastic selection of books and THE BEST sticker collection in Woodstock. This is why local bookstores matter, the vibe of the place, the inventory and the staff made it a wonderful Thursday afternoon visit.

This place is such a gem. For being on the smaller side it has a truly impressive selection. I went to several bookstores on my trip through New England and this was without doubt my favorite. Highly recommend! Had to come back to update my review.. One of my purchases here was a 'staff pick', North Woods by Daniel Mason. I had no idea at the time how perfectly fitting this book would be. I had the good fortune of being able to enjoy several hikes and even some apple picking on the trip, and reading this book now transports me 2000 miles northeast of my home and back to that stunningly gorgeous part of the country. I cannot imagine a better and more lasting reminder of my time up there, and I owe it all to this shop and the wonderful people who work there, along with Mr. Mason of course. My point is, trust these people, they know their trade well.

Visited this bookstore twice in the past two months, and on both visits the staff made me feel unwelcomed. As I entered, I always greeted the staff with a "Hello." Both visits I got no response from either of the ladies behind the register. Both visits I purchased books. None of the ladies looked me in the eyes nor said anything, other than the total amounts. Both visits were cold and callous. Does the female staff hate men? Clearly, I am not welcomed at Yankee Bookshop. I prefer, and recommend, Norwich Bookstore. At least the staff there are friendly. P.S.: Two years after I posted the negative review above, I made a return visit to see if service has improved. To my surprise, it has! The man-hating, multi-pierced-and-tattooed women I first encountered are gone! The ladies I met were friendly and courteous. At the register, they spoke to me courteously while making eye contact. I do hope they continue this positive trend; for I shall make additional visits in the future.

Woodstock itself is a great town to visit. I go 3-10 times a year. But the one place I always make a point to stop in and shop from is Yankee Bookshop. A perfect little bookshop with a good selection of books. I can always easily find something I have to have. Yeah you can buy books online for convenience but we need bookshops like this for the experience.

Such a good selection of home decor, candles, Christmas ornaments, and more. Picked up a few new things for our house. Prices are reasonable considering many items are locally made or handcrafted.

Always a great experience and love that they recognize locals to get that discount. Great gift options too!

I’ve had my arnacare less than 3 months and I opened it and it was full of mold. I reached to them on 2 separate occasions and got no response on storage recommendations. Stirred it up and it’s been 3-4 days and it’s back again.

Hannah was amazingly patient and knowledgeable with helping me find exactly what I needed. She also pointed out a trial pack of the product I chose, as she knew it would be just enough for the weekend. I really appreciate her thoughtfulness in recommending what I needed, rather than trying to push for a full price sale. The shop itself was cozy and quaint with all kinds of fun and unique gifts. I highly recommend Clover Gift Shop and many thanks to Hannah!!!

Such a cute shop ! They have a great selection of gifts. Loved spending time in the gift shop, the only con was how rude the lady at the cash register was , not only to me but to the customers before me but after me as well. They all came out complaining about her attitude. Something was wrong with their credit card machine but she kept giving the customers attitude. The woman packing the items was very sweet and patient though! Overall good experience and loved what I bought.

My husband and I stumbled upon Clover gift shop when we went to VT for our 1 year wedding anniversary. The staff was so friendly and very helpful. I love love love their CBD products. I live out of state and whenever I place an order it is at my house within a day or two. My most recent order was taking a little longer than normal so I gave the store a call to follow up . My order showed up within a day or so of me calling and they sent an extra goodie bag with some awesome samples in it since my original order didn’t ship on time. That right there is amazing customer service! I wasn’t expecting anything extra so that was a nice surprise. Thank you guys for all that you do. Can’t wait to visit again!

Store looks decent enough, but came in at 5:30pm on a Saturday because the website hours said open until 6pm… the girl working there informed me they were “technically closed” which was a bummer because this place is way out of my way. Unsure if I’ll ever be back but the discrepancy in hours should be corrected.

Today my wife and I wandered through Elevation and had an excellent experience. The store is very well stocked with quality respected brands. Equally important, the owner was welcoming and extremely knowledgeable about her product line. I felt as though I have known her for many years. With all the variables that face privately owned retail stores I sincerely wish her continued success!

Inventory is exquisite with favorite brands plus unusual items such as shoes and purses made from Turkish wool & silk rugs. Purchased my fabulous Astis mittens a year ago and this year picked up a Kuhl cardigan for my husband in addition to a gorgeous silk scarf for myself. We did not enjoy the rockyness of the road to get up to the farm but the nature views were beautiful. The farm it self is small and feels cozy. FREE SAMPLES are Wonderful! We loved how passionate everyone that worked there was about the cheese and maple syrup made there and how friendly and knowledgeable they were. You can tour the farm, shop, and check out the chapel. Definitely, worth a visit if you're in the area.

We had such a great time here! There’s a small shed out back where you can learn about their maple syrup process, and inside you can sample select maple syrups and cheeses. The samples were so delicious that we couldn’t resist bringing some home. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, which made the experience even better. Highly recommend!

Very pretty drive to this farm from Quechee with fall foliage along the way. There was 2 maple syrup tasting and cheese tasting, the maple syrup was good! Also enjoyed the maple walk through their maple trees and see how they harvest the syrup, that was interesting! There were lots of ladybugs at the entrance to the maple tree walk, they will even fly onto you as you walk past. There were also cute goats at the farm.

We were so happy we found this farm. The people there were very friendly and knowledgeable. The whole atmosphere was authentic. The cheeses were truly delicious and the maple syrup was exceptional. Overall, it was the best experience we had on our Vermont and New Hampshire trip.The views at this farm and in the surrounding area were breathtaking.

Some years ago I tried the maple syrup from Sugarbush Farms and never looked back. No other syrup compares and I always go out of my way to visit anytime I’m anywhere in the greater New England area! Sadly this year I didn’t get to visit New England - but lucky for me Sugarbush ships nationwide!! So I tried it out and ordered some of their syrup and my fave cheeses. Ordering online via their website was super easy. I ordered my fave dark variety of their maple syrup and 4 cheeses: horseradish cheddar, jalapeño cheddar, sharp cheddar, and Monterey Jack. Their horseradish cheddar is my absolute fave - a wonderful kick of the spicy horseradish blends so well with their rich cheddar. I really love the jalapeño cheddar too - packed full of flavor with just the right amount of kick - not overwhelming but enough to taste it. The other two were great as well - you can definitely tell their cheeses are made fresh on site - flavors are just next level compared to industrial-manufactured cheeses from the grocery store chains. And the maple syrup is also in a league of its own - nothing mass-manufactured from any grocery chain holds a candle to the rich, complex flavors and velvety texture. The syrups also last quite a long time so I’m able to keep my stocks full yearly! Since I was ordering cheese with a long way to travel, and it was still quite warm in parts of the US, their website suggested adding one of their insulated shipping boxes for an extra fee of $8. I didn’t want to risk ruining my cheese so I did and all arrived in excellent condition! They pack it in extra insulated styrofoam with ice packs. So it’s definitely worth it imo. Next year I’ll be in Maine in October so I’ll definitely be planning an extra day or two to pop over to Sugarbush on my way back out haha!! See yall next fall!

Loved this experience! The BEST maple syrup I have ever tried and the cheese was so good. The maple syrup tasted like fresh candy, couldn't leave without getting their cute sample pack! T Walking through the trail was so fun, doing the quiz and seeing how maple syrup is created. What a fun little stop this was!

So happy we made a stop here at Sugarbush Farm! The cheese and syrup samples were delicious! I loved the little store! I stocked up on maple syrup to take home as gifts. It was really cool seeing the tree tapping process! We enjoyed the 1 mile self guided hike through the woods!

We visited over the weekend and loved the stores there is a huge antique store a couple floors never seen so many antiques all in one place .The sweet spot candy store was has amazing fudge. I believe it was the general store next to that was very cute also we got few nice sweatshirts ,pants,couple nick knacks from our visit here.definitely worth stopping in and checking out all the stores ,i believe there was a winery or brewery at the end of mall we didn't go in that one. They had alpaca s out back and a little restaurant in the parking lot.

Just stopped here to buy a gift bottle of Vermont Distillery vodka and do a taste sample, all very good. The weather was damp & dreary & we had someplace to be so didn't get to explore the antique store or other businesses. Seems like it would be a good place to spend a few hours. Along with the distillery there is also a brewery/restaurant, golf & sportswear shop, alpaca goods shop, & a general store.

I have always had a lot of fun! There are a variety of things to do: try wines, visit alpacas, shop at the antique store, visit the gorge, eat at the restaurants! Something for everyone and easily enjoy and all day trip within a few miles!

The alpaca had me like ..... OH MY GOD! Bring quarters to feed them, I only had 1 but could have easily spent a few bucks feeding them! The antique shop is fun and had some pretty groovy, groovy funky jazzy finds. Also... CHEESE! You can buy Vermont cheese here along with other Vermont made goodies! Oh and let's not forget, it was a nice place to have a picnic 🥪🧀

Great place. Wasn't too busy when we went during peak fall foliage freziness in the area. The antique store in here was huge with an amazing selection for being kind of middle of nowhere. Found plenty of great bargains and unique items.

Great plaza to stop in for keepsakes, snacks, sit down food, and spirits. Feels very “Vermont” but not overly “touristy”.

We LOVE the older gentleman that works here, but whoever the older woman was working the register was incredibly rude, we spent over $150 in two transactions and her only comment when I was trying to subtract my kiddos allowance from what I had on my phone was "we have a line". She was incredibly rude and short with us as my 12 year old tried to give me their money. Super disappointed as we have always had good luck there in the non busy season (ie not winter).

Jeff Kahn, the owner, is not only a trustee of Woodstock Village, but Jeff is the trustee of fun and good times at this beautiful and whimsical gift store in Woodstock Vermont. It is a must see location for children of all ages. Highly recommend.

Me and my family stopped in here on a visit to Woodstock recently. We loved the vibe and all the neat varieties of goodies that drew our eyes everywhere! My kids all found something that enthralled them, including myself. The young store attendant with burgundy hair was so kind and knowledgeable about the toys and jewelry, and after speaking with her about her favorite local artists and pieces I just had to buy the pair moonstone earrings she pulled out for me 🌻🪶 Lovely store in a lovely town, with caring and knowledgeable employees!

The most delightful little gift shop! Truly unique items here, carefully curated. Fun for kids and grown ups alike. My unicorn obsessed daughter loved it and the Unicorn selection is great, along with games, jewelry and more. The couple who own the store are SO NICE. I was visiting a friend I was helping him with his dump truck. We needed to fabricate something up that was out of the norm. While they had a good selection, I feel like the staff was very rude not understanding what I needed. I get it but I did let them know that I would have been fine finding it myself they were following me around like I was some kind of thief meanwhile I'm just trying to assemble what I needed in my head while holding parts. Maybe it's just the attitude of people out that way, I'm not sure. I ended up calling a local garage out there hooked me right up.

As always, helpful, personable and knowledgeable. The staff is fantastic, prices are reasonable and the inventory of hardware is excellent. Something you definitely don’t find in the big box stores.

The contractor here in Woodstock and have shopped here at Ace for 11 years since we moved from Claremont Leanne has been the manager here the whole time she Has great customer service and is an excellent paint match. If I have a custom color needed, I always have her match it. She is the best.

Love my local Ace Hardware in Woodstock Vermont. This week when I tried to buy the product, sluggo, and there was none on the shelves I learned that orders are not placed locally. In Central Vermont during the height of gardening season, it’s important to be able to buy Sluggo to control the slug population in gardens. Please send Multiple cans of Sluggo. I had planned to buy two and there were none to be had.

I live in western New York, and can't say enough wonderful things about this store. I was on a mission to find a rainbow spinner on a stick for my son. I saw that Woody's sells them, so I ordered one. When the item arrived we were blown away from the packaging and wrapping alone. It was beautiful and also contained a little goody bag. If they took so much care with this one item, I cannot imagine what they would do for in person customers. I will definitely be keeping them in mind for future gift giving. Amazing customer service!

I’m heavily disappointed with my experience at this store. I have shopped at Woody’s throughout the years and my interaction with the associate today made me feel like I was not welcomed. I grabbed flowers that were in front of the store (there should be a big sign or something saying they’re not for sale to the public) and after finding out that I couldn’t purchase it because I wasn’t a subscriber, the associate removed the flowers from my hands to put it away. I would’ve gladly put it away, but the passive aggressive attitude from this associate made me question her more about it and how I would be able to be part of the subscription. She definitely made we feel unwelcome and did embarrass me in front of other customers. I run a store as well and would be disappointed with my associate if they treated any of my customers this way. I have had great experiences with the other ladies there, but this one associate’s micro aggression has sadly ended my loyalty to this small business. I hope they can take this as a learning lesson.

In the last 10 years I’ve made 3 purchases & had 2 repairs done. Recently however i didn’t have a good experience and will no longer be doing business with them. From Jordan & Moises (unenthusiastic office help) to Nick the owner, none of them seem to care about their customers. There are higher rated jewelry stores in the area who are much more professional & have high standards of professionalism as well as much better reviews. ** note the previous most recent review for Farro’s is by their employee Moises with jewelry from their case that he took pictures of FROM HIS DESK at the store. Not exactly honest.

My wife and I visited this store during a vacation at the nearby Woodstock Inn. It's a very upscale and high end store with lots of beautiful but expensive pieces. The owner Nick and I negotiated a very fair price for a unique Tiffany bracelet. He's very knowledgeable and professional, and supplied all the paperwork our insurance company required so the bracelet was insured when we walked out of the store. We will definitely return the next time we are in the area.

She understood that I had specific requests while sourcing the ideal piece, and was communicative and inviting the whole time. Patient, helpful, and friendly. Quality customer service, and a respect for every budget—that’s all I could’ve really asked for, and they have exceeded my expectations so far. I highly recommend NT Ferro!

This is a high end jewelery store with mostly estate - pre-owned older jewelery pieces - with prices that go from several hundred to many thousands of dollars. They carry a large variety of choices and styles, something for every taste. Pleasant and helpful staff.

A LOVELY children’s store! I was a tad concerned after reading previous reviews however, the shop keeper was delightful. The store has a large variety of items at various price points; as well as precious clothing items. 10/10 recommend stopping in!

I just went into this shop with my son and was so disappointed by our treatment. We were not greeted when we entered the store, just a scowl from a woman (longer white hair, older- hopefully this will help the owner have a discussion with the correct employee.) My son picked up one toy penguin (a child picking up a toy in a toy store for kids- pretty standard.) and she immediately said “do NOT let him tear that apart- the boss just set that up.” I replied that he wasn’t tearing it apart but was picking a stuffed animal for us to purchase. She glared at us, scoffed and began to straighten out things that were not messy on the shelf we were browsing to make a point. I have never felt so scolded and uncomfortable at a kids toy store and immediately took my son to another lovely shop to pick some toys and books. We were greeted and offered help, in fact! How nice. A customer and store profits were lost so unnecessarily. I had my eye on a few more stuffed animals and books for my kiddo. Instead of apologizing for her rude behavior, she let us leave after I expressed she was making me feel uncomfortable and just headed next door to another shop- not sure if she works at both. Double whammy for those poor shop owners. A person so miserable should not be a clerk at a children’s store (or any store- she was extremely rude and handled this all wrong). Such a bummer! Will not return.

The store itself is cute with a good selection of toys, but the proprietor was quite rude and seemed to not like children - ridiculous for a business that makes its profits off of children. My 3-year-old son was carrying a ball and teddy bear and the proprietor came over and said, "We can't have this. Are you buying these?" I informed her that we would be purchasing the ball but not the teddy bear, and she curtly took the teddy bear away. I understand the need to keep the store clean and items tidy, but this is excessive -- any adult is allowed to walk into a store and hold items they are considering buying, without them being taken away. If the proprietor could have asked for the teddy bear back politely, I would have been less insulted - but she was quite cold about it. I definitely do not recommend this store to parents.

While the stores in this town are lovely and inviting, this store stands out in stark contrast. The sales clerk, Linda, was belligerent and rude. While there was a prominent sign in the front window of the store advertising an "entire store sale of 30-50% off" excluding newly arrived items. While the newly arrived items were clearly marked, Linda refused to honor any sales from items on sales racks because some labels were not marked in red. When I pointed out the sign outside and the fact that these clothes were holiday clothes (this being end of Jan), and in the back of the store under a sale sign, she refused to apply the discount and would not call the store manager or owner to inquire.

Even though I live in NYC, 37 Central is my favorite store. They always have the cutest clothes for any event. The owner Kim has the best eye for clothing and the employees are always so helpful in picking out a new outfit. If you are looking for something fun to do in Woodstock, definitely pay 37 a visit!

We apsolutely love this place. We are now members. We saw the movie and all the animals, we had a wonderful homemade ice cream and a drink. We will definitely be back. Great for all the family..plenty to do and see.

Solid place. Nothing too special in my mind. Would have been better off heading across the street to the National Park except it was closed due to government shutdown (thank you dems). If it had been like half as much, could give 5 stars. Nice setting for sure and the farm was nice. Didn't have too many animals out though (small animal building for example only had three of six stalls with animals in them). Parking was good. Had great bathrooms and water. Spent like hour and 15 minutes here. Was nice just not great. We did leave our car parked here while we walked into Woodstock. That worked out well to avoid the congestion and get a nice walk in.

Very beautiful museum and working farm. If you haven't been here, you should consider going. It's right next to picturesque Woodstock and would make a great side trip if you're in the area. The apple tasting was fun and eye opening and the cheese in the gift shop was great.

A wonderful meshing of American history and contemporary dairy farming. My daughter and I visited recently and had great fun exploring the exhibits in the visitor center, touring the 130+ year old farm manager's home that also houses a creamery in its basement, and petting the cows, calves, and sheep. There was a "farmers market" on site that day with lots of vendors selling freshly made cheeses, maple syrups, etc. There was even live music. All in all, a wonderful experience that added to our enjoyment of Vermont.

A must-visit farm when in Woodstock! We absolutely loved this place—there’s so much to do. From horseback rides around the farm and barn dances to ice cream making, walking through the orchards, and exploring the museum, it’s a fun experience for both kids and adults. We especially enjoyed the fresh apple cider donuts and watching how they press and make the cider (and getting to taste it!). The homemade ice cream was also delicious—definitely worth trying!

The museum has a large collection of farming tools for the different industries. The information is well organized and succinctly written so it becomes easy to understand the purposes and history of farming in Vermont. The guided tours, The Creamery and The Butter Making, were done by knowledgeable and experienced staff. It was an absolute pleasure to learn from them ! I strongly recommend this place for people of all ages!

We visited on a Thursday morning in late June 2025. We parked here to actually explore the Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historic Park next door. In the parking lot there is a NPS booth that gives info on the Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park. It is staffed by volunteers and they can give you info on what you need to know. I think a lot of people get confused and try to go into the Billings Farm & Museum. NPS does house it's short film in the theater inside the Billings Farm & Museum that is free of charge. You just walk in and turn right. That's all we really did here was watch some of the short film. We didn't have enough time otherwise we'd pay to explore this farm & museum. it looks fairly nice and clean inside the building. While it was a short visit here, we would visit again if we were driving by.

We came in towards the end of lunch service on a very busy fall Sunday with our toddler, hot, hungry, and desperate, and the staff could not have been more accommodating despite us not being hotel guests. The dining room was full and so they took time to give us many other options nearby, in addition to their bar. We opted to wait for a table and glad we did! The food was fantastic (very fresh, flavorful, creative), the staff very kind to our toddler, and the service top notch despite the onslaught of people. Best meal we had on our NH/VT trip and would come again.

Wife and I made a reservation for dinner for one evening while staying in nearby Killington. The venue is in the heart of woodstock and located (obviously) within the woodstock inn. The inn itself is massive and beautiful. The interior is stunning to look at and simply enjoy on its own. The Red Rooster was equally as pleasant. We were greeted by friendly staff and treated well throughout our dinner. We began with rolls and maple butter. These are incredible and would happily order again. We each tried a soup, myself the clam chowder and my wife the apple butternut. We both agreed we could have simply had these for dinner. We both then got salads. I tried the kale ceasar with salmon and my wife the rooster salad with steak. Excellent, no complaints. All was prepared well. Despite minimal room, we couldnt resist the maple cake with pecan ice cream. Portion is very large but flavor is outstanding. All and all an absolutely great dinner. We would happily recommend. Its not a cheap stop but its worth it in our opinion!

Red Rooster is meant to be the flagship restaurant at the quaint and truly lovely Woodstock Inn and Resort. The decor of the main dining room aims at comfortable and rustic charm, not necessarily fine dining. (Not a problem or critique.) The wine list is reasonable and there are many bottles there that are approachable and would suit any dinner just fine. My main issue with the restaurant was the entrees. We had the Parker house rolls with maple infused butter as a starter. It was fine and tasty, if served more like rolls and less like an iron skillet Parker house roll presentation. I ordered a cheeseburger - where I swapped cheddar for pimento cheese; I wasn't about to get pimento cheese on a burger. My wife order bass with potatoes and an eggplant puree. My burger was disappointing. The bun was a bit oversized for the patty and dry. Medium cook requested ventured to medium well on delivery. And to those who suggest I ought to have ordered something else, I wasn't ready for the $68 steak. I wanted to walk before I ran. My wife's bass dish came out looking dark, without skin on but not crisped. The potato hash that accompanied it was similar dark and a bit oily, so the entire dish had a dark hue to it that I imagine was not as conceived (and wouldn't be how they'd serve it if they stepped back and reconsidered the presentation). My point in writing all of this is to set proper expectations, and perhaps nudge the restaurant to take a refreshed look at some of the entree offerings. I really did enjoy the main resort, though.

Apple butternut soup quite literally restored my hearts. They say their ingredients are fresh, and I must say, I'm inclined to believe them. I'd never had a soup that tasted refreshing until eating here. Service was very friendly and the delicious, made-to-order food came out quick. The decor was also very pretty.

Impeccable, attentive service. The food was phenomenal and the drinks were very good. The duck is delicious and the tofu did not disappoint.

We had lunch here on a Tuesday in October and it was very good. The food itself was delicious but the service is what made this restaurant special for us. Our server, Cody, was so friendly and helpful. He was so nice to our kids and made us all laugh. We had such a good time that we'll be sure to do this again when we come back to the area.

Loved that they had several fun non-alcoholic drinks. Our son had a rainbow one that was beautiful. The rolls were amazing (but kind of pricey - $10 for 4). I had the ginger carrot soup and a salad. My husband had the cheese plate and my son had the pork tenderloin. The hotel is lovely. We loved everything about our stay.

I had the Village Butcher cater a lunch for 20 and it was fantastic. The mac and cheese was incredible and very popular. The pulled pork was so tender and delicious. The chicken skewers were great. We had green salad, fruit salad, slaw, cornbread, and the most delicious rolls. It was a great spread that my guests thoroughly enjoyed. Will order again for sure!

Italian grinder was fresh and delicious. The roasted veggies were also excellent. Going back tomorrow for a roast beef sandwich bc we had fomo walking out seeing others with it. Cute shop too!

This review is only for the sandwich part of the shop. The butcher might be fine, can't speak on it. The sandwiches are severely under seasoned to the point where they tasted like nothing. They had the texture of meat, but no flavor. This was the same for the roast beef and the lunch special with the sausage and peppers. It was really disappointing. They were certainly edible and not bad, but very much flavorless. Kind of weird!

What a way to put on sausage! Village Butcher Shop has quite a selection of deli foods, maple syrup, wine, and an amazing street side sausage pot. It's a friendly spot to stop by. You won't be disappointed.

After waiting in line for about an hour (30 minutes just to order and another 30 to actually get my food), I was really disappointed with the sandwich. I have to agree with some of the other reviews, it was underseasoned and lacked flavor. It was okay at best, but definitely not worth the wait. I wouldn’t come back.

Good sandwiches. We bought 2 Italian grinder sandwiches that were very tasty. Good lunch spot. Definitely recommend picking up a sandwich for a picnic in the park area.

I bought their frozen beef bourguignon pie today. WOW!!! So much flavor! This is a killer, quick, mid-week meal. I ❤️’d it.

This place was incredible and I would love to come back. The campgrounds were clean and well maintained. The staff was very kind and helpful. I felt very safe here and I wasn't worried for the safety of my children (not all state parks are this secure or family friendly). The gorge is incredible and the swimming area is family friendly and worth the walk.

Very clean and well kept state park. We loved that there was a trail down into the gorge and to the visitors center. Beautiful scenery and close to silver lake State Park for swimming.

Beautiful walk to the river bed, you can see the reflection of the Quechee gorge bridge in the river if you walk down close to the riverside. The gorge view from the bridge was also beautiful, but water level was low. Traffic was bad here due to the closure of one lane on the bridge for construction.

The dam and waterfall were ok to see, but you cant get close because of safety concerns. The gorge is about a half mile hike, but worth it. You can go swimming, i recommend bringing some sort of watershoes. Lots of sharp rocks. Very quiet. Fun for all ages

Very cool hike down to the bottom. Neat rocks and fun little pools of water. Also the campground was incredible. We loved the quiet and peacefulness. Big wide open spots. Loved it.

We stayed at quechee state park for cabin camping for 2 nights .The park was really nice . The cabins were spacious ,well maintained and recently renovated.We stayed in Cabin Moose, which was perfect . Some of our friends stayed in other cabins mentioned that their bunk beds had some complaints.The park area was neat and clean and it had the Quechee Gorge Trail a nice paved hiking trail . Overalls we really enjoyed our staying at Quechee State Park.

Parking lot and visitor center along the road and close to the bridge. Nice walk to the riverbed on both sides of the road. Nearby, there is a country shop (Quechee Gorge Village) which offers a huge selection of Vermont maple syrup, cheddar, and more.

I popped in while strolling through Woodstock, and I was genuinely impressed! There’s a fantastic selection of beautiful handmade treasures—glasswork, wood pieces, pottery, and jewelry—all crafted by talented local artists. Everything felt so special and unique, unlike the usual tourist shops. The owner was super friendly and made us feel right at home. If you’re in town, you absolutely have to check it out! It’s definitely worth a visit!

I always find something unique and wonderful here. Today, I purchased a painting of a beaver holding a bouquet of flowers that I'll give to my better half at Christmas. In the past, we found some other great pieces that adorn the walls of our Pennsylvania home. Truly woth a visit.

Very beautiful artwork, and plenty of other good finds as well! Most of the artwork are animals or landscapes, but all are very beautiful pieces to add to your walls. Lots of different print sizes and she even has some originals for sale.

Store has a great variety of different artists - all the pieces are beautiful. Bought a few ornaments for my tree!

Honestly - this was the best soft serve I have ever tried. The Maple Creamy flavour was sensational. Toppings were good. Friendly service. Also has affordable merch, $22 a t shirt and jumpers just over $30, worth checking out. Will visit again each time I am in Woodstock.

Passing through town we decided to enjoy a Vermont creamy and glad we did. Found this gem right on the main drag and the maple creamy was worth the stop. Lots of different options to choose from, my wife had the maple raspberry creamy swirl. Whether you are visiting for a bit or, like we were, just passing through, take a few minutes to enjoy a sweet treat.

Cute little shop with a good maple creamee, they were out of sugar cones when I went so I got the bowl. They also had maple syrup for sale inside and we took advantage of that as well…the creamee was really good with great taste and texture and we loved the maple sprinkles. Just beware if you go in peak season like I did that the lines could be really long but it does move quickly!

Woodstock Scoops is such a fun and charming stop in the heart of Woodstock, Vermont! It’s a small local ice cream shop that perfectly captures the cozy, welcoming vibe of the town. 9/25 - A must have in town we were told on our NE bus trip. The line moved right along. Pumpkin was the second flavor so maple/pumpkin swirl was both of our choices except I paid the extra buck for a waffle cone.

The hot fudge here is as good as I’ve ever tasted and you get absolutely loads. I got the mint cookie flavour, which was a really interesting and unique one that I’d not had before; I really liked it. Prices are reasonable and service was quick despite the shop being really busy. Is there anything better than strolling through a beautiful town with a decent ice cream and taking in the sights? I don’t think there is. Highly recommend this place if you’re in town.

There is always a queue here but for good reason! It’s so good! The maple creamee is delicious as is the maple walnut ice cream. The VT flannel sundae is well worth trying too. We enjoyed sitting out on the porch and people watching. The prices aren’t bad and it’s really good ice cream. It’s worth joining the line. I also liked that they had a good playlist to listen to whilst waiting!

What a gorgeous gallery! Chip and Opal have created a warm, welcoming & beautiful atmosphere in which to look at wonderful New England art. There are all price points available. New art collectors as well as seasoned will feel comfortable finding a cherished piece here.

Always a pleasant stop whether buying or browsing. Mostly artkwork, sometimes there small collections of hand-made jewelery.

Loved it. Stop with my husband well we spent the day without kids. Love the different shops and the antique side was so cool. Had a wide range of things. The shopping side had a little bit of everything. Will deftly to make it back.

Awesome place with wide selection of goods. There's attendants and bells to ring if you want an item in a locked case. Debit/Credit accepted but ATM on-site. The owner was very nice and explained how to read the tags, make offers on high ticket items, how to use the attendant bells. I left empty handed due to empty wallet but glad I found this place! I'll have to come back this spring :)

A really cool antiques mall with a great array of items. An essential visit when in the area.

Loved it here!! Came here after visiting the gorge with my wife and 3 girls. The main entrance leads into the 1st of 5 or 6 stores which are side by side. The store the entrance led to the stairs of the Toy Museum which was free by the way. You can donate money to it. Once you visit, you will want to support the museum! The museum had. Many exhibits of nostalgic toys, lunch boxes, cracker jack toys, video game consoles, dolls, and slew of toys by decade. It brought back many memories and my wife and I were able to share memories with the girls. After the museum, we walked around the antique mall. On one end was the actual antique store, then on the other side there was a store with wines and beers, gift shops, a candy store, and other misc shops. Outside of the antique mall there was a distillery, a stand selling grilled corn, an ice cream shop, and a few other shops. I highly recommend coming here if you're at the Gorge!

This is a massive antique mall with multiple levels. They have loads of stuff and it was really fun to browse all of it. It's also a really cool location with gift shops, restaurants and alpacas next door.

Loooots of stuff to look at here. If we weren't limited on time, I'd have liked to browse some more. They have restored cast iron pans of all sorts of sizes, framed insect collections, and I even saw bows (without the strings and arrows).

Very nice shop for all home needs. We were visiting VT and had went around , and mostly all shops close early. This one was open and was awesome … lots of parking and nice stuff available. Nice customer service and quick billing . Way to go !

Great staff and very convenient, but largely overpriced. Much larger and more reasonably priced grocery stores in West Lebanon and Market Basket either in Warner or Claremont, NH are worth the drive.

The selection is ok, but if you want a diet soda other than Coke or Pepsi, you won’t find singles in the cold case at the front of the store. Diet choices in the soda aisle weren’t quite as limited, but still pretty slim. The prices are high - I had to stop into the nearby gas station convenience stores looking for a specific brand of chips my wife wanted and I saw that the single bottles of soda were cheaper at the convenience stores.

A small market with a small selection...although their wine and produce selection is decent. I was surprised to see plantains bc I doubt most ppl in the area utilize them. The biggest issue is one they cant really control.....old men and women clogging the aisles and holding up the registers because they are too entitled to realize that they are not the center of the universe.

One of the few grocery stores in town, had some really good deli selections, in-house made salads (potato, chicken, macaroni). Had a bit of everything and everything we needed almost every time. (And it's NOT cash only and has more general selection than the market up the road. We enjoyed them, too, just not quite the selection) Like most smart places, bring your own bags. (If not, they do offer them at .10 for paper, or a cute selection of reusable bags for around $2.) Really nice staff - we appreciated that the most. Will be back while we are in town long term. 👍 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Never been in this market before, although have passed by it hundreds of times. Driving by one day and in a pinch needed to run and grab a few things. Very pricey, but the location explains that.

Warm, stylish, and made in the USA—The Vermont Flannel Co. delivers on quality and charm. Their flannels are competitively priced and perfect year-round, especially in winter. Friendly staff and a cute shop make every visit a cozy experience.

These Flannels will last you a lifetime. I have had mine since 2018. I may not get to ware it as offten living in flordia now but I still pull this one out for store trips(I freeze by butt off in stores during the summer) to its raining and cold. Its about time for me to order a new one so I have more then one. These hold up great.

Update 10/9/24: Heard back from their customer service and it was a smooth process. Thank you! I received another replacement flanny pack. Praying that this one can hold up without the strap ripping immediately. 🤞 Update 9/19/24: The replacement flannel broke at the same spot with only one use again. I'm not sure if I'm getting defective flanny packs or they are simply not designed for casual use. Very disappointed in the quality of the product. I've sent an email to their customer service team yet again and have not gotten a response. It's been a week since. Hands down excellent customer service. I got a flanny pack from here that was defective months ago but haven't had the time to submit a ticket. Fast-forward months later, I submitted an email and it was immediately replaced. I would be happy to come back knowing that they care for their customers and their products!

I love this store! I was greeted so nicely with the friendly staff. They helped me pick a nice men's flannel shirt for me and explain the difference between the fitted and the regular size. We went back the next day and got another one. The quality of these Organic Cotton and made is USA is unmatched. The sales lady name Donna is super friendly and helpful. She was the other reason why we went back to the same store again the next day.

I am an outdoorsy, love flannels and love stuff made in the USA. Super high quality... love the shirts... my wife got me a blanket for my birthday... it's absolutely amazing... worth every penny!

Love the Vermont Flannel Company. Their shirts are so soft and comfortable. I’ve picked up a few and really like them. The store is a bit small but they have plenty of options. The staff is usually pretty helpful.

I’ve been trying to get something from this store for years now, first time I went to Burlington store, couldn’t get anything as the sales girl was too busy flirting and giving her number to some guys that invited her to a party, didn’t make too much of it and left. Second time today, arrived at Woodstock location at 4pm and guy was at the door blocking stating store was closed when online hours state 5pm, either way second try and no go, disappointed as you guys have great stuff but not sure about sizing wanted to actually see in person instead of buying online, but your sales people don’t make it easy.

What a beautiful and welcoming gem of a dispensary! The staff is so kind and incredibly knowledgeable and explained the products that I was interested in such detail that was easy to understand and perfect for what I was looking for. A huge selection of amazing VT cannabis goodies and fun merchandise. I loved the flower bar too! So awesome to see and smell the buds and great prices for any budget. I love the daily deals and flash sales that they offer. A must for any cannabis connoisseur!

I went here for the first time yesterday and it was such a great experience!!! Everyone was kind and knowledgeable. I had ordered online and the pick up process was easy and the order was ready so fast!

I stopped in this place last week. I go out of my way to find dispensaries and stop by to check them out. I love doing this especially on my Sunday drives lol. I live about an hour from this place and I would rather go here than any other dispensary in Vermont. The selection they have is incredible and the vibes couldn’t be any more positive and pleasing. Whoever the owner is your the best and I will be stopping in today!

Going to Sunday Drive is an exceptional experience. The dispensary owner and staff are very professional and informed. They can help select items for sleep, anxiety, or whatever your needs are. The site itself is cozy, fun and welcoming with lots of other gifts and goodies for sale. It’s by far the best experience I’ve had in the many dispensaries I’ve visited.

This a great shop! I was down there doing some painting last summer and stopped by a couple times . I dig the women only vibe for sure and the ladies there are super helpful and informative. The second time I went I knew exactly what I wanted but the first time I was gracefully guided to my selection. As a seasoned, long term cannabis user from California as well as a licensed bud tender , this place checks the boxes no doubt . One of the bigger inventories around with top notch Vermont Brands like Gaston, Pinnacle valley , and Forbins reserve . They have Sunkist farms and I love that grower and their cherry heads is one of my favorite strains . They also carry foglifter nano tincture which is a mainstay for me and I’ve only seen in one other place in Montpelier where I buy it because I live in the area. Well done Ladies!

The best dispensary around! Lots of amazing choices and an incredible staff.

Nothing but good things to say about this place. My only regret is I didn't find out about this place till about 1 month left into my contract. As soon as i did, i stop going to the other nearby ones. I'm a traveler staying in Hartland so I have visited numerous dispensaries all across from west coast to east coast. Fair prices, quality, and variety. I love the store setup and atmosphere was welcoming. One of the only stores I've been to that has deals, just ask the door person or the bud tender what they got for today.

Drove all the way over to visit and it's permanently closed when the website says updated 2 weeks ago to be open 24hours

We have visited this country store on several occasions with the hopes that our minds will be changed. It is very quaint from the outside and often decorated beautifully for the season. The problem is that once you take that snapshot and go inside, you find that the majority of the front store is reserved for wines and a small refrigerated case of cheeses that can be purchase at any local supermarket. You may find a very very very limited option of other local VT gifts (like a small variety of maple syrups) but the other items are just junky things that one can find at your local Dollar Tree. A very small selection of food/snack items is found in the back but some even say “Great Value” which is a Walmart brand. If you are looking for an authentic country store shopping experience you will be greatly disappointed. If you are ever near Barrington NH try Calef’s. That’s is worth a trip.

My vehicle broke down in their parking lot. I am pregnant and very much needed to use the restroom, like all pregnant women do! The woman clerk inside didn't even have the courtesy to let me use it, and refused me.

Quaint local country store with your basic convenience and drinks available. You can grab a sandwich and eat in the outdoor seating area when weather permits.

Masterfully curated bliss-product haven. A local apothecary for the totality of your wellness. They have curiosities here you didn’t know existed, can’t get online, and that support local farms and artisans. Walked in with that “what’s goin’ on here?” look on my face, and walked out, bag in hand, feeling like new man. The way the staff and ownership operate together in harmony is something to behold, and there is none of that being stared at from behind the counter hoping you touch something so that they can ooze all over you. This shop has a special vibe where one can make it one’s own experience. Clearly mission driven, everything just lines up. While being small in footprint, one can spend over an hour in here and never feel crowded/rushed and no pressure to buy. Everything breathes. Check out (their lovingly dubbed) “the perfect boyfriend” collection of scents if you are shopping for the masculine side. Hard to put into words, it felt like my own private self-care time when I was in there. Products sell themselves, each with their own story. Totally forgot to take pictures when I was in there because I forgot about my cell phone for an hour, which speaks volumes. This is what I took home.

Echo Market is an absolute gem in Woodstock, VT! The shop offers an exquisitely curated collection—there’s truly something for everyone here. Victoria, one of the owners, is the sweetest. She’s so personal and attentive—she even remembered the exact scent of a deodorant I bought months ago when I couldn’t recall it myself. That kind of care and thoughtfulness makes shopping here such a joy. I’ll be coming back for years to come!

A delightful shopping experience. I love their wide selection of supplements and organic beauty supplies. I nabbed some perfume oil with black tourmaline crystals… and because it was their anniversary, I got a free mug with my purchase! I highly recommend Echo Market if you’re passing through Vermont.

Absolutely love this shop! The owner, Victoria and everyone on her team is extraordinarily friendly, kind and knowledgeable. Victoria always points me in the right direction for whatever I need, from lotion to help my tight neck to the perfect gift for friends and family. Grateful to have this shop in town.

Beautiful shop with such a variety of sustainable and quality items. I probably could have spent hours here!

The first thing we noticed walking down Woodstock was Primrose Garden. It is literally over running water. Stunningly beautiful inside and out. When you walk in you are hit by the breathtaking scent of berries and flowers. It is intoxicating. Anne is lovely, like family you hadn't met yet. Everything in her shop is perfect and you want to buy it all. Her little porch in the back is so welcoming, you imagine in the Spring and Summer, fairies must spend time there. I am so glad my husband and I found Primrose Garden during our little adventure.

Magical. After the aromas and beautiful blown glass enchant you through the shop, a back doorway transports you to a fairytale land…

Primrose is one of the best things about woodstock!!! It makes for the color, art and beauty in woodstock. I had a lovely time shopping in primrose and talking to Anne. She's amazing and describes each piece so beautifully! What an exquisite time at the shop...so soothing! Amazing music, amazing scenary out in the back, plus amazing art pieces each as beautiful! I went back to Boston carrying a special warm feeling in my heart. Primrose definitely made woodstock all the more special for me! :) It's a must stop!

The owner of this store, Ann is such a nice person. You are lucky if you catch the store open as she is closed often and does not keep usual business hours. Worth checking it out plus the back porch if you can while in Woodstock.

The owner of this shop is awesome and a true ambassador of Woodstock. My wife visits this shop every year when we travel back to area...she wouldn’t miss it for anything and she always comes away with something new. Very cool architecture. Don’t miss the back porch and the stream below.

The best thing about the store is the view from the balcony in the back - so peaceful. The store has nice looking Glass balls.

I had a pants emergency (now I really wish I’ve gotten the ladies name) she helped me above and beyond. Running up and down the stairs to find me the right pants before I was too late for work. She deserves a medal. I have now my new favorite pair of pants and store. Will be back very soon❤️

Entered 6 months ago and was ignored until a well-known local woman entered. Then the obsequious owner emerged. Entered today and mentioned seeing a bracelet like the ones in her jewelry case on a woman in town. She replied "Oh". For extra charm I received a backhanded compliment as I walked down the stairs to check out the sale items. Head to Footprints if you are interested in observing a true-blue sycophant.

Pulled a bus up in front of her store full of people in June of 2017. She told me she didn't like bus people because they ask to many questions, dirty her floors and do not spend enough money then called the police on me to have the bus removed from the street in front of her store. Small bus of 30 people. If you find yourself in this little stuck up town don't expect a friendly face at this location. Thank you ma'am for the nasty experience in your elite little town.

Beautiful, high end pieces that I’ll have forever. Staff is extremely helpful and knowledgeable about product and area in general. Anytime I need to add a unique and classic staple to my wardrobe this is my first stop!

They have some nice things but politeness and respect are far from the owners repertoire. It’s easier to buy online than to think you are buying from someone who cares.

While on a travelling vacation through VT, we stopped by Danforth and were immediately wowed by the unique lamps, and ended up taking one home with us. The folks at Danforth were very friendly and helpful. and the lamp is absolutely gorgeous! We've gotten a ton of compliments on it, as it's our dining room table centerpiece. Highly recommend checking Danforth out for the unique lamps (and Christmas ornaments, too). As a follow-up, Danforth's customer service is unmatched - they completely stand by their lamps as heirloom quality items. We had an issue with the burner, which they promptly replaced. Wish all customer service was like this!

My wife and I stopped by the store while on vacation. It was difficult to narrow it down from such a wonderful collection. We bought one item and moved on up the street enjoying the town and people. When we came back to the car we found a parking ticket. It turns out that if your meter expires while you are shopping you can have the ticket nullified by a store that you made a purchase from. Danforth was the closest and the lady managing the store was happy to take care of the ticket. So two things, 1. Thank you Dawn, thank you so much. and 2. Thank You to the town of Woodstock for having such a policy.

Great place to go l used to love all the different jewelry that comes in. The owner is darling. She is so willing to learn and make this place work. I just wish l lived closer but it’s worth the trip.

A really nice store for decorating your home. They have a lot of nice original pieces at this place. We normally visit during the Christmas season, they have plenty of really great Christmas decorations.

Great place for gifts, love the window design

We tried going for lunch, but the restaurant asks for reservations; so we had to do one for dinner. The food was delicious and the service impeccable. I was not impressed with the drinks, however, but I like sweet drinks and there was nothing on the menu to my taste. The lamb was very tender, and the mint jelly was a nice touch. The pineapple cake was very good as well. I would recommend and go back again.

Didn't eat here but the restraunt looked very high end and elegant! The glass works are beautiful but expensive in my world. You can watch the skilled glass blowers at work and it was incredible their skill. I'm sure their work is worth the price but it's a bit out of my price range.

Phenomenal atmosphere! The food was delicious!! Our waitress was super sweet as well. I also enjoyed shopping around in the retail section of the store. They also have a space downstairs where you can watch people hand blow glass. Very cool! Would definitely go back!

This was a great place to really immerse yourself into handmade glass pieces. When you walk in from the covered bridge, you walk right into the work space and can watch the pieces be made and talk with the craftsmen. Upstairs is the showroom with the finished pieces for sale. They also have "The Seconds" room for pieces that didn't quite make it to the high standards held... but still great pieces. We did not eat at the restaurant but if the food is anything like the glass- it's probably amazing

Outstanding place to grab dinner. We sat at the bar and ordered 3 appetizers. The cheddar soup, cheese plate, and whipped feta. The soup and cheese plate were amazing. The whipped feta was very good, but more runny then I am accustomed to. The atmosphere and service were great. They serve their drinks and their glassware. The glasses and heavy and solid feeling. Highly recommend stopping here, if you are in the area.

I love everything about this restaurant! Our server, Sue, was the epitome of excellent service! Friendly, efficient, knowledgeable about the menu but not pushy. The hostess was as well, just delightful. Suzanne, bartender, made a fabulous cosmo!! I have been bragging about this restaurant to my husband for years, and tonight, he got to experience it. Thank you for making a wonderful memory for us.

Unfortunately was not able to experience the dining aspect of this Simon Pearce. However, watching the handblown glass pieces being made was addicting. You can walk downstairs and start watching their employees make glass pieces intricately, carefully and want to spend the rest of the afternoon there. From a bolt of molten glass, to being shaped, blown and molded into a vase, you cannot help but watch and ask questions. Take the time, visit and you will be juat as enthralled.

Great spot with lovely and interesting items - from furniture, books, art, carpets, jewelry, china, lamps, African masks, and so much more! Prices seem very reasonable and owner and his team are very helpful. Highly recommend!

What an amazing spot!!! The store is huge, so prepare to spend some time (and money) there. Lots of hidden gems and great deals.

First floor is definitely on the pricey side but once you go up you can find find a few good gems at a good price too! Atmosphere is good, seems mom and pop owned with lots of stuff. Found myself some almanacs from 1860s and there were more spread throughout the second floor I left behind. This is a great spot to come in and look around even if you dont find anything you wanna take home. Would recommend!

Lovely stuff, from top to bottom. We visit the area every year, and inevitably stop at the Antiques Collaborative. While much is expensive, there are bargains to be had -- including the antique sign we picked up this summer.

One of the best antique marketplaces we’ve been to. High quality curated selection of furniture, art, and oddities. We found a beautiful Dartmouth plate, and some other art pieces we will be back for.
