Restaurant La Grange in Bayonne is a warm and welcoming spot that offers a delightful experience of Basque and regional specialties. The covered terrace provides a cozy setting to enjoy the picturesque view of the Nive River while savoring the delicious cuisine. The restaurant is known for its amazing food, accommodating service, and perfectly cooked dishes. It's an ideal place to indulge in a memorable meal at your own pace, making it perfect for a leisurely dining experience.
We came spontaneously with 6 people. The host was very welcoming, funny and with great humour and perfect English. The menu is small and only in French but the host was very helpful and the food was above excellent, especially the mushrooms and the steak für 2; the menu is great value for money.

Very good restaurant in the center of Bayonne. The service is excellent. Food is delicious with fresh products, but there are better restaurants in the region for the same price range. A very good experience overall!
Joe F — Google review
Excellent restaurant with good cocktails, delicious food, and attentive service. We got the pre-fix dinner of cauliflower soup, Basque pork, and flan dessert and it was wonderful. Right by the river, such a good experience. Recommended
Alden C — Google review
Not only the staff was wonderful and kind, but the dishes were incredibly delicious. We had no idea it was going to be so good. Above and beyond and one of the best meals we had in the south west of France… thank you!
Marie-Camille T — Google review
A beautiful setting with a very warm and friendly atmosphere. Loved the table layout. The crockery is absolutely amazing and the views all round very pretty indeed. The service here too can’t be faulted. Disappointingly though, the food, which was first and foremost what we came here for, was rather a letdown. The œuf parfait was sadly far from it. The star of the show so hidden beneath a sea of foam I couldn’t find it. In fact I’m not even sure there was an egg yolk there. On the other hand Mr H was served what appeared to be a superior version to mine and though it tasted better, overall this dish wasn’t all it was cracked up to be (no pun intended). For mains I had the “Dos de lieu noir” served with black rice risotto. The fish was so so. All the better with a pinch of salt but the risotto was chalky and starchy and frankly I couldn’t eat more than a mouthful. Mr H chose well with the pork fillet mignon. I tasted it and WOW… that was seriously delicious. Some guys have all the luck!! Of the three course menu dessert (for me at least) was the best. A tidy version of an Eaton-Mess though far less tasty and probably some time down the future road, far less memorable. The toilet however was really quirky and will definitely stick in my memory!!!
Louise H — Google review
Very enjoyable dinner. Warm welcome, friendly service and a delicious dinner. I enjoyed the generous serving of ham, my friend had the foie. Both of our steaks were perfect cooked to our liking. I didn't try it but a neighboring table's duck smelled wonderful she (reluctantly) gave a bite to her husband and he smiled.
Sasha N — Google review
Amazing food, convenient location and nice views. It’s not the kind of place to bring small children, and yet they were super accommodating. They prepared them some white fish with mashed potatoes that tasted incredible and looked even better (see the picture). Everything we tried on the menu was perfectly cooked and so tasty! It’s a memorable meal to enjoy at ease, definitely not the place for a quick bite.

Top notch. Nice atmosphere, very good service, and excellent cuisine. A good wine list as well - it’s really nice to see some 1/2 bottles. The 5-course gourmet menu didn’t miss a beat, and the poached pear dessert was just right.

The couple who ran the place were really nice, the food and service were perfect ... I think it is a very nice restaurant to visit if you visit Auberge ...

Wonderful gourmet restaurant located in the heart of Petit Bayonne. The exterior has the classical have timbered appearance. The restaurant itself is lovely, with fantastic attention paid to the service. The lunch menul is quite a bargain, especially when you consider that it is traditional Basque food, but done in an extremely high quality style. The chef was quite nice, having rushed out to say goodbye to us. Try to arrive early, as they wish to stop service at a reasonable hour. Definitely make a reservation for dinner. One of the best dining experiences we have ever had.

Wonderful little market with all the local food and wine. We had a mixture of meats and two glasses of white wine.

A bit expensive compared to other restaurants, it was good for trying local food. However the price was high for what you get.

I am absolutely in love with this restaurant, food and concept. Changing menu, best fresh ingredients and a stunning taste. Always happy to be in Bayonne and visit this place.

Amazing restaurant! Super friendly staff, the food is excellent with fresh local products, very good vibes and spacious! Reservation is usually required even for lunch! Highly recommend it!
Joe F — Google review
Got the menu entree plat and dessert. Entree was the beetroot and granny's apple tartare. Was expecting it to be a cold dish. It was neither warm or cold. Would prefer it cold. Plat agneau purée carrot and dessert ice cream mascarphone were delicious. Will definitely go back soon.
Felicia D — Google review
Excellent food at this very popular restaurant. Definitely need to book as it filled up almost as soon as it opened up in the evening. We would definitely recommend the fillet mignon to share. Scrumptious. Good wine list at very reasonable prices. Food this good would cost at least twice as much in the UK, if you were fortunate enough to come across it. The restaurant has a bistro next door which is also very popular. Merci Monsieur Mazars

One of the best restaurants we have been to this year. The food is imaginative and the taste experience is exceptional. The staff pay every attention to detail, and the wine list is very complimentary. A must go destination in Bayonne. À la prochaine

Original flavours and perfect wine pairing with unusual wines. They have certainly taken thought and flair to create amazing menus. We also found it very reasonable pricing. Friendly service too and the restaurant is cosy and unpretentious.

(Translated by Google) Very nice little bar and restaurant. Friendly service. Good food. Sour chili omelet. Sorry, but I'm only giving it 4 stars because I only ordered an omelet without the accompanying ham, without a quarter of the wine, without the cheese, and without bread. Which was the Bayonne festival menu at 18 euros all-inclusive. And they charged me 15 euros, which was surprising. And I told them I'd only ordered an omelet. Admittedly, I ate without a reservation, but at 10 a.m. like the other twenty customers who had. I find the omelet a bit expensive (15 euros). Anyway, it was also the Bayonne festival, and I hadn't asked the price either. But other than that, this little bar deserves a 5-star rating for quality/price. Bravo (Original) Très bon petit bar restaurant. Services serviables. Bonne cuisine. Bravo

Very VERY good food. We were nicely surprised by txangurro (crab) meat starter, “cassoulet”, mixed crab meat with soft cheese and some sauce. The place does not look attractive from the outside, but we saw lots of people there and decided to try. Highly recommended! My only complaint that they brought me white wine instead of rose :) but beef tartar I was eating with this wine was amazing (for lovers of mustard)

Came for dinner and went with the tasting menu, not a full house but the wait is super long for food, more than 2 hours. On a lovely weekend in Bayonne, this was the only "low". The French Basques are such warm welcoming people. Sadly at Chez Txotx things could not be further from that. We were treated so rudely by a very ill-mannered woman, we decided to leave --- and will never return.

I had been to the Chistera before, but this time I decided to have my Christmas Eve lunch there. A charming welcome, with very competent and professional service (with a BIG smile) throughout my meal. The whole team is visibly made of "the right stuff" with truly excellent and authentic cuisine and food. I had the best "foie gras" for a long while, and the "magret aux cerises noires" was totally delicious. I even needed extra bread to mop up ALL the remaining sauce ! I encourage you all - Go there, and leave a generous tip. 🤩🤩

What a disappointment this place was. We saw a table available on the terrasse and sat there as you do 99.9% of the time in France. The waiter came and asked us who seated us to which i replied we did ourselves. He became rude, said it was full and we always had to ask inside to get seated, which was fine up to this point but then as he was leaving he added ‘it is a matter of respect’. We were not disrespectful (as mentioned in France you seat yourself on a terrace 99.9% of the time) we apologized and got up hence disrespect was from the server who needlessly added a rude comment as we were leaving. Sad to have such unhappy people in a service industry…To note; conversation took place in french since we are fluent in the language.

Le Bayonnais is a top dining spot in Bayonne, offering a generous local cuisine. Located in the heart of Petit Bayonne, near the Basque Museum and by the Nive river, it provides a modern restaurant space along with a riverside terrace. The restaurant is known for its friendly service, good food, and pleasant atmosphere. It's considered one of the must-see restaurants in Bayonne and is run by renowned chef Sebastien Grave.
Though this place is a bit pricier for its midweek set menu than others, for us it was worth it: lovely setting, great service, high-quality food (amazing desserts in particular), treated out dog well, all good!

Awesome restaurant .. excellent taste … we had both of the fish dishes .. the Sole and Bar .. excellent dishes .. the sauce on the Sole was light, the Bar was very tender and the dishes were not over salted … you cannot go wrong here … all made fresh every night .. the meringue was good but the floating island dessert was great! Service was very good

The restaurant serves the local dishes in a pleasant place just on the river board, offering a view over the city. We absolutely liked the food, which was excellent. The service was good. I recommend this place for an authentic experience and bon courage to the management and staff!

Only reason it has two Stars? The service. Longest wait I've ever experienced in a restaurant, we arrived at 7h45pm , left at 10h40 ... Ordered 3 entrés, two of them came about 40 to 50 Min later, waited another 10 min then proceeded to ask where the third one was (which came 10 min later). They took about 30 min to clear out plates , and the wait for the main dishes felt like forever too... Even the two deserts took a long time to come. Throughout the time we were there , several people had to manually wave at the waiters to have attention. Lack of waiters. Anyway, the food was really nice although the risotto rice was slightly cracking , nice fancy presentations , good wine. Would recommend if more waiters.

Overall decent but: 1) Lower than expected quality/price ratio and 2) Lower than expected service level. We have been there tonight. We were two adults and two kids. We spent 122 euros for three menus touristique (entrée, plat, dessert) and a couple of dishes a la carte, one bottle of their cheapest wine and two coffees. We had croquantes de chèvre chaud, axoa de veau, merlue a l'espagnole, douceur de apricot, profiterole Maison. The croquantes were tasty but far too greasy. The vegetables in the merlue and the axoa were too similar, the merlue didn't benefit from it, tastes were somewhat disconnected from one another and the dish was not as tasty as I wished. The douceur was cooked apricots in a yogurt creme. The apricots were cut in two and hard to eat. The rest of the fruit were cut in a fruity cream variegated in the yogurt. Too homogenous in texture and tastes. The profiterole were two chunks of chou dough filled with whipped cream and icecream, good but far from artisanal as claimed in the faite maison name. Waiters were distant and cold, as if they diswliked us...

Basque restaurant
Restaurant
Ttipia is a charming restaurant located in Petit Bayonne, housed in a 17th-century building. It offers locally sourced cider known as sagarno, which is Basque for 'apple wine.' Unlike its Norman and Breton counterparts, Basque cider is less sweet and more astringent. The venue exudes tradition and originality with its wooden and stone structure that has retained its authenticity.
Driendly staff. Very good food and drink. typical "Basque" restaurant. Really recommended.

Has seen better days. 2nd here, but last time. Went here because of previous good experience. At entry I announced that unfortunate 2 others cancelled last minute, first reply was no “welcome” or “good evening” but grumpy reply why not inform them… (I just got notified about cancellation) Tortilla appetizer was great! So was the fish… But steak mains was far undercooked and simply raw and un-chewable!! Service replies clearly annoyed about it. Same time about 40-50 teenagers came in and were loud n obnoxious (can’t help that I got the impression this place turned into a mass chew house). 2nd and last time I’ve been here..

This was fun and delicious Be ready to eat some delicious basque speciality, very generous portion. You help yourself to fill your glass of basque cider (not sweet like other cider you know), one menu for all, big table for groups , friendly atmosphere. Center of Bayonne.

Good Basque cider, really good omelette too - did I mention that they do unlimited cider for 5 euros? [Get your booze on]
Joel L — Google review
The "traditional" menu set is €35 you get first a nice omelette then you have a big piece of fish served with peppers and fried garlic, then you have the master piece, the beef was cooked to perfection and so tasty 😋 and then they brought a plate of cheese with coin jam and a basket of walnuts. This set menu also included unlimited cider and bread. The service was great, a very nice and smiley Spanish lady. I would recommend this place to anyone who's looking for a great time in a very typical place. I'll go again for sure. 🙌

The welcoming staff greets you with genuine smiles, making you feel right at home from the moment you step inside. The menu features classic French dishes that are sure to delight your palate.
We’ve been twice to this friendly restaurant in Bayonne’s historic center. Both times, I’ve ordered the incredibly succulent lamb in an amazing jus just faintly evocative of rosemary and lavender. And it has not let me down. What a savory and aromatic experience it is at this lovely rotisserie restaurant!

One waiter, one chef - perfect execution. It’s not always you find a menu where you want to try everything. We were in a group of 5 with everyone ordering something different. Chef is very versatile as each dish from fish to lamb to pork to pigeon was very pleasurable.

Came here on recommendation. Oh wow!! What a fabulous experience of French/Basque food. Every course was a delight, with extra little surprises. Beginning with a delicious homemade apperatif and duck pate. Followed by entrée and main meal. Both great. And the piece de resistance, deserts!! Come hungry. You won’t be disappointed. Our waiter/host was so welcoming and helpful. Thank you!!

A delicious meal that exceeded my expectations. Perhaps somewhat more expensive than neighboring lunch spots, but worth it. The food was of excellent quality, the service was great and friendly, and the location is especially peaceful on a quiet street with a view of the Cathedral across the river. Definitely worth a splurge. **Update 2021** I’ve been back again twice and its still just as good. One of the best restaurants in Bayonne, for sure.

Best Restaurant in Bayonne! Strongly Recommended!!! I stayed in Bayonne for 7 days to attend a conference and tried several different restaurants. None of them were as good as this one! I went there twice, and I wish I could have gone a third time on my last day in Bayonne, but unfortunately, it was closed. I was so disappointed! The food here is absolutely lovely, and the service is friendly and welcoming. If I ever return to Bayonne, this restaurant will be my only choice!

What an incredible coincidence, we wanted something to lunch on a sunday and so few options open... there were other restaurants near but I felt that this one might be a good choice, and it was... the typical french restaurant... full of local people eating (always a good sign). We had 40€ menu with appetizer, first, second and dessert... i had the Coquilles first, later a cannard with petit poies and few typical french desert, everything was sensational.

A cosy little restaurant with excellent Italian food! The staff was helpful and very thoughtful. Great italian food, in our case some generously decorated pizza’s. Tiramisu for dessert is a no-brainer, though initially it seems expensive. However, the portion you get is rather big and simply delicous. No regrets :) Also note that the lady who seems to be the manager speaks English well.

Mange Disque in Bayonne is not just a restaurant, it's a unique concept for music lovers, especially those who appreciate vinyl records and CDs. The owners, Nicolas and Vanessa, combined their passions for music and food to create a relaxed space where patrons can enjoy homemade dishes while listening to their favorite tunes on headphones at high tables. Whether you're there to explore the record store or savor a coffee with a freshly baked cookie, Mange Disque offers a charming and tranquil atmosphere.
This was one of our favorite places in Bayonne. I had a green Gazpacho and for my daughter they accepted to serve the Kid’s menu in veggie version : hamburger with a veggie patty. They had a big portion of tuna steak. The owner was very gentle and the ambiance full of nice chill music. It was a nice retro moment checking in the LPs and listening to some cd’s they had on the sample machines. Highly recommended!

We will be back..many times! Great discovery! And dont forget to try their black burger!

The atmosphere of this place is great. It feels like a little record store where you can listen to good music and grab a bite. It's perfect to stop for a coffee and a cookie and browse through records. The food, however, it's not that great and I found it a little over priced. Maybe my lunch choice was not the best... I'd go back just for a drink or dessert.

An OK place that was convenient to the Ibis Budget. I say OK because maybe my order was lost in translation. I ordered a rustic burger and was billed for such but ended with a chunk of what I think was rump steak. Regrettably it was a bit tough but I had had a really bad day so I put up with it. My wife on the other hand had salmon fillet which she informed me was very good, although she ordered new potatoes and got a baked one. Has a really lovely group dinner. The appetizers were amazing - particularly the mussels and jamon. The fish mains were underwhelming compared to the porchetta and veal, which were standouts. The Peruvian theme was subtle and not overly in one’s face. The food and the service were the real standouts here. Large portions, good quality products and fantastic prices. I’d go back in a heartbeat.

An excellent ensemble of tastes and attention to detail with friendly and helpful service. They were able to offer adaptations for gluten free dishes and also lactose and meat free plates on the menu du midi which was well worth the €22 for entree + plat. Vegetables were succulent and the ceviche excellent with clearly a talented chef. Plenty of space to sit either inside, on the pedestrian street or in the building opposite, all with a pleasant ambiance. The homemade lemonades for €3.50 were distinctly refreshing to wash down the meal. Overall an outstanding restaurant with really friendly and efficient service in the heart of Bayonne that can also cater well for dietary requirements, which seemed challenging in these parts.

Excellent restaurant! The staff are very friendly, the food is amazing! Maybe it’s not the best restraurant in the region, but you won’t find a better price/quality! Highly recommend it!

A mixed bag. Very good wines by the glass, very friendly service. The food would be better off if they would focus and reduce. The more classic dishes (veal with potatoes and veggies) should great skill, but the rest longed for too much with too many flavors in one dish lacking harmony

The restaurant provides a raw and sensory dining experience, featuring a lunch formula and tasting menu. Visitors have praised the ideal portion sizes and friendly service, although some feel that the ambiance could be improved to match the quality of the food.
We ate here after walking past, and were very glad we did! Incredible set menu at fantastic value. I had the egg, fish and cheese, and highly recommend all three (particularly the cheese dessert). Excellent service with the staff talking us through each course. We unfortunately don’t speak French to a fluent standard, however between us we managed to understand each other! I would highly recommend and this far surpassed my expectations when walking past.

(Translated by Google) We had a wonderful evening at Influences. The service was impeccable—professional, attentive, and seamless from start to finish. Each dish was delicious, well-executed, and meticulously presented. I chose the "surprise" menu, expecting to discover different creations from the menu, but it turned out to be a selection of dishes from the menu, just like my children's. This surprised me a little at first, but the quality and finesse of the cuisine more than made up for this slight confusion. A wonderful culinary experience, full of flavor and professionalism. Thank you to the entire team for this enjoyable experience.

Sushi Shop Bayonne is conveniently located near the town hall, offering artisanal creations made on-site. Situated close to Anglet and Biarritz, Bayonne serves as the gateway to the Basque Country. Visitors have praised the warm welcome and attentive staff, with some noting the modern building and efforts of waiters to accommodate English-speaking guests. While some diners appreciated the quick service and variety of fresh options at fair prices, others suggested more diverse sushi combinations or a customizable combo option.
It is a very modern building and the waiters there are very nice and try hard to speak English to foreigners. The food came out quickly and we were lucky enough to be able to see it from where we were sitting. I would definitely return.

Good sushi, but not the best combinations. I hardly want to eat 6 of the same type of sushi. Not many sashimi combo options either. They should consider a 'pick your own' combo option

Do not order from here. We did a delivery. They charge you for chopsticks, ginger, wasabi. We received zero wasabi and couldn’t enjoy the sushi even though we paid for the wasabi. They refused to refund us. in addition the fresh salmon sushi was frozen when it arrived. Again the refund was refused by this terrible restaurant

Quirky fun decor in a small typical French family run restaurant. The food was good and tasty. Staff were welcoming and spoke a little English, enough to help us out describing the menu. Chose from Dish of the Day, 3 fixed price menus or menu of your choice. I'd revisit if I was ever in the area again. We ordered Steak in a red wine sauce with chips, Chorizo & Parmesan Pasta, moist chocolate sponge and cream, pannacotta with black cherry sauce. Pay parking was less than 100 yds away.

The place is nice but quite expensive. I’d also suggest renaming the dessert “Russe” considering firstly, that the history of the dessert naming is linked to Crimea and Crimea is Ukraine. Secondly, any naming linked to moscow should be refrained from considering all they do right now is crimes and every of their citizen is responsible.

Best set lunch for a very long time. You can select starters and desert from the menu and main dish is the so called plat du jour ! It may limit your choice but for 32€ 3 courses lunch it is an amazing offering. Quality is exceptional , food is tasty and quite innovative combining French and fusion taste and last but not least volume is sufficient. Hard to beat considering service is friendly , fast and supportive. We will surely come back for a more relax diner where we can spend time and discover other hidden gems like the saumon bio confit or the crèmeux Bailey’s. Michelin star standard considering quality of location by the Nive River , beautiful ceramic plates and les Couteliers Basques knifes. Lucky us price is a competitive Bayonne weekday lunch menu standard!

What a gem! We had a lunch here and everything was fantastic. The staff was extremely nice and friendly. We were set in a few minutes, ready to start going. The menu is larger than I expected with many options, a lunch menu, etc. I was afraid it was too much, but everything tasted great and was perfectly cooked. We went with some fish as starter, then a lamb shoulder confit as the main dish and it was fantastic. The chocolate dessert was also excellent. We were quite full at the end of experience, and happy. The price are extremely OK for such quality, highly recommended.

My family and I stopped here for dinner and we had really high hopes, the reviews online looked really good and we were excited to try traditional local food. We started with the fois gras, and I went to the bathroom to wash my hands however by the time I came back the waiter was already back taking our main entree meals. Normally I would understand but it was 45 minutes before their official closing time and I felt super pressured which led me to order a burger because it was the first thing I saw. On top of this the same waiter continuously checked his watch and was incredibly eager to go home. I would understand if we were the last customers in the restaurant but it was still more than half full at this time and other tables hadn’t even ordered yet. The fois gras wasn’t too bad however the waiter didn’t tell us how small the portion size was, which made it hard to share between all of us. My family ordered the menu with an entree, main course and dessert. The entrees we received tasted okay at best, however the portion sizes were downsized compared to the rest of the menu which I felt was pretty predatory but nevertheless understandable considering the difference in price. Regardless I was more hopeful for the main courses however I was quickly disappointed by my burger which was incredibly dry, and as seen in one of the pictures the sauce and caramelized onions were all bunched up in one spot of the burger leaving most of it dry and flavorless and one bite of it incredibly overpowering. The bread was super dry and irritated the roof of my mouth which was very unappealing. Additionally the fries were way overcooked and I felt like I almost broke my teeth while eating them. The salad was once again okay at best because it was frankly flavorless and their “vinaigrette” was just mayonnaise. The fish that my sister had ordered had absolutely no flavor, the sauce that was left over wasn’t even worth scooping up with bread. I was happy that the chef accommodated my other sister, who is vegetarian, and let us change out the main course with a vegetarian option. She got the truffle mushroom ravioli which was the only good tasting thing we had that night, so maybe the chef should stick to vegetarian dishes. Another thing that irked me a lot was that towards the end of our meal, when the waiter started putting the chairs up they put the feet of the chairs directly on the table top (as seen in the pictures). Not only is this probably a health violation but it’s simply disgusting who would want to eat on the same table where the feet of the chairs stay?! I’m not sure if we got unlucky or came too close to closing, but I would definitely not recommend this place if you come within 3 hours of closing or you have a very high chance of getting rushed out. I also wouldn’t recommend being the first in the restaurant because I doubt they clean the tables after taking the dirty chair feet off of them.

Food was good and service was really good. Had the truffle and mushroom ravioli, beef tartare and the veal t-bone. The ravioli was really flavourful and creamy and the veal was really tender. A lot of restaurants are closed on Sunday but good thing this one was opened and was quite good.

Very lively ( therefore noisy) place in the town centre. We ordered the 3 course menu, which was not outstanding but right for the price.Believe we made the wrong choice since everybody else was having steaks and hamburguers. The service was also fine.We may give it again a try in the future.

This is a big NO. The staff kitchen dont even look at each other. The meat was good, the rest was a reheat (and not long enough btw so cold). Chips not bad - best thing actually. The meat chef (ex soldier ?) was the only one to wash her hands after her break. Wine (Chilean, not bad actually) at perfect temperature so that was good. Wine and chips ? Go for it. The rest. No.

Well located and great quality for very reasonable price! We took the dinner set menu and everything was so delicious 😋 The truffle ravioli was amazing! Fish and steak were both so good. Staff were very friendly and helpful. They speak good English so made it much easier for me to take my order. I’ll def come back!

Fantastic food and service. Very good variety on the menu, from meat to seafood and veg. They have an artisanal vegan burger that’s easily one of the best I’ve had in the world, and hands down the best in France. Grilled squid with risotto is divine. Try the sangria :) Thank you for the experience, we’ll be back!

During the day, visitors can enjoy a meal at the restaurant run by Christian, while in the evening, it transforms into a bar serving tapas and pintxos. 🪭A pretty solid spot in the middle of Bayonne for an afternoon lunch, the tapas isn’t available till 6pm but there other options on the menu. The staff are really great / accommodating here however my Aperol Spritz was defiantly watered down and the ice meant that the flavour was quite weak. It being a little stronger would have been nice but overall a nice experience. 🪭🫕

Disappointing! We were hopeful based on the reviews of this restaurant but were greatly disappointed. Our chiffanade of Jamon and the wine were the only things we enjoyed. Tagliatelle with seafood was overcooked, with a little bit of squid, few shelled mussels and a few pieces of chorizo in a tasteless sauce. The fish special("like seabass") was badly fileted, just bones, skin with very little fish was served with a failed flan. Only the peach flambeed with cognac was palatable. Perhaps it was a bad night but we will not return.

(Translated by Google) We went in May and it was just the day of the match between Bayonne and Vannes. The atmosphere in the restaurant was calm but also very friendly. We had salads and it was magnificent. We are Spanish and even though I speak French, the waitress made the effort to communicate with the others at the table who were not French speakers. The salads were different from Spanish salads but they were delicious. After the delicacies which were a sweet plate that I had never seen, it was a kind of merengue called the floating island. The cream was like Spanish natillas. The coffee was great. It was very good, we will come back if we return to Bayonne. Super thanks to the waitresses who were kind. The quality of the food and the service was outstanding.I never received such a customer service in my whole life!! The waitress was outstanding!!
Beatriz H — Google review
The waiter didn't show us the full menu and the dishes were quite simple compared to the photos in the other Google reviews. It didn't make any sense. We speak little French and the waiter didn't speak Spanish neither, so the conversation with the waiter, in English, was brief. We were sitting inside and instead of bringing us a menu, he brought us one of the handwritten signs they had outside. However, it only had half (or less) of the dishes we had seen in the Google reviews and photos (Which were what motivated us to visit this place). We thought that since it was a bit late, they had run out of some ingredients, so we didn't ask. But as we were finishing our dishes, we saw that some clients on the terrace were ordering some of those other dishes we saw in the reviews (Like the chipirons du chef) . Confused, and because of our low level of French and the time, we decided to just pay the bill and leave. As we were leaving, we looked at the signs outside, and it turned out the waiter only brought us one of the panels. We missed the opportunity to try better dishes, which were listed on the other signs. I cannot understand how a restaurant is unable to inform all its diners, wherever if the client is inside or outside, of its entire menu. We left with a feeling of emptiness and a bit of a scam, also given that the two dishes we ordered (something like a beetroot carpaccio and camembert au patxatran) we found them to be a bit expensive, not very elaborate (especially the camembert au patxaran, which was barely just a warm piece of camembert) and very different from the presentation and appearance of the dishes shown in the photographs of the old reviews. Furthermore, because of the time, we had no other alternatives, and we had to go back to the hotel a little hungry and wanting to try something more delicious. Now, reviewing the photos on Google reviews, I notice that most of them are very old and the signs inside listing all the available dishes are not currently there ☹️ . Beware

Janine is a cozy and relaxed eatery situated in the heart of Bayonne. It has a charming terrace where guests can enjoy their meals. This restaurant offers homestyle dishes for breakfast, lunch, and afternoon tea. The atmosphere exudes a cool hipster vibe, and the chef and staff are known for being super friendly. The menu is succinct, with only 4-5 plats du jour written on the glass window in front.
A chill restaurant in the heart of Bayonne center. Limited choice ( 4 mains, 2 desserts), but the platters are super tasty with a lot of flavours! Very friendly staff!

Everything was fantastic about this restaurant; for example, the egg, bacon and pancake dish was very satisfying and will keep you going all day. The latte was a thing of beauty (see photo). The location on the cobblestoned lane and the dudes working here i.e, the head waiter and the chef were really good. The manger (tattoo dude) I suggest could fine tune his customer relations skill or his approach to dealing with folks. Don't get me wrong, nice enough fellow but there is a room for improvement. Minus 1 star for this need for improvement. Another reviewer mentioned the staff (3 dudes) having their coffee and smoke to the detriment of patrons arriving. I too witness this behaviour whilst I was enjoying my meal. I strongly suggest they re-evaluate this practice in order not to impinge upon their success as restauranteurs. Nevertheless, I would not hesitate to frequent the establishment if I ever return to these parts.

5-star Thai! The food there is quite simply delicious. The type that makes you travel miles away. Been there twice, the second time was to join friends who were already having lunch. Unfortunately, Marie, our son and I arrived late and they weren't serving any longer but the owner was so kind he allowed us to sit with our friends nonetheless and we even were able to order coffee from a next door coffee shop. We had a lovely talk with the owner when he had shut everything - what a very nice man with many interesting stories. He's definitely lived many lives in one. Thank you so much for your warmness and kindness. I would recommend stopping by. 5 stars!

Three stars removed for a non welcome/ aggressive person working as staff. Nice hot chocolate and pavlova. I was sitting outside, after purchasing a local style omelette from the shop just inside the main door. Very nice chap and helpful with English. He asked was it for take away or here..I just said for here if that's ok I'll sit outside. I was completely oblivious to segregated or specific stall/restaurant seating outside. I presumed it was an open seating food hall. There was nobody within four or five tables of me. When an aggressive staff person raised their voice on approach and said "you can't sit here".. I explained I had purchased from the stall inside.."THIS IS A RESTAURANT" was the rude reply..I asked then for a menu and ordered a hot chocolate and pavlova. Hot chocolate was dropped off and then a nice polite chap with the pavlova. I can't imagine this person lasting five minutes in many other countries with this attitude. In addition to the reply I received... Were you there WITH the staff member in person to see how they spoke to me in a raised voice? Yes or No? If you are implying ANY level of disrespect by myself, by taking my backpack and sitting on open seating with Zero staff nearby, with the food I purchased from the food hall directly inside I take huge exception to this. I have worked and traveled in many countries and typically a casual food hall has open seating. For example in Reykjavik, there is an excellent food hall, Hlemmur with multiple food stalls and open seating. My favorite in Surabaya, exactly the same, open seating. Are you implying your food hall/stall is a restaurant? Yes or No, was a bill delivered to the table on request for inspection? Yes or No, was payment made possible at the table? No, I was told to enter the "restaurant". I did and with approximately one meter space to wait, between a table, an old gentleman trying to pay, a dog walking off the leash.. I then paid. Do you think any of the above points demonstrate a "restaurant" standard establishment? Was the staff member in physical contact then with the dog and continued operating without directly washing their hands? Do you have standard operating procedures/training of staff with regards to hygiene and animals in the "restaurant"?

Despite having a small menu, your order can still be forgotten for an entire hour. This evening, for instance, I ordered a mixed grilled pork platter and, after a little over an hour, received some pieces of meat clearly reused and as tough as a shoe sole. In French, une arnaque.

Namasté is a North Indian restaurant located in Bayonne, offering a variety of traditional dishes including meat, vegetarian, and vegan options. The chef provides seasonal variations on classic Indian dishes such as kheer. Visitors have praised the delicious food and helpful service, with some noting that the spiciness closely resembles authentic Indian cuisine. The restaurant also offers a kids menu and has been described as one of the best Indian restaurants in the area.
FLAVOURSOME AND FRESHLY-MADE, EXCELLENT FOR VEGETARIANS By far the best vegetarian thali I have had in France, and better than many I have had in London. My wife chose vegetable byriani, a dish which is often heavily dosed with ghee, but at Namasté it was light and tasty. Friendly staff, good service and we will definitely eat their again.
Colin T — Google review
Where on earth you serve a traditional Thali with pilau/biriani rice, 2 spoons of daal, 2 spoons of raita and 1 spoon of chutney?! Also ordered papadom and they gave a half circle as a portion! Taste ok, but far away from Indian culture of serving tasty flavours and colors on food. The floor was slippery, toilet dirty and the dishes was grease. Very disappointing.
Marina P — Google review
This is one of my favorite restaurants in the area, and I've been there a few times a year for about 3 years. This last time the service was noticeably slower; we made a reservation and were seated on time, but didn't have any service (not even water) until well after other people who arrived 30 minutes later had already been served. The food is always great. I recommend the vegetarian thali. Their naan is particularly good as well as the cardamom and pistachio dessert.

Skip if you are Indian/ have ever tasted Indian food. Nothing breaks my heart more than an indian restaurant compromising on quality for cost. Namaste has friendly staff but inauthentic Indian food: The Palak paneer has no paneer The channa masala has no masala (just boiled channa and chat masala!) I’ve given 2 stars for the friendliness of the staff and the potential for flavor. Sadly when it comes to food, friendliness cannot replace flavor 👎
Ahana R — Google review
Authentic Indian flavours. Delicious food, friendly staff and nice ambience. Coriander chutney, mix pakoras, matar panner, naans and kulfi: all were delicious 🤤 Best part is everything is “Fait maison” Highly recommended 😊
Shreeni S — Google review
Exceptional. Someone wrote in a review that the food was better than that served in many Indian restaurants in the UK. That piqued my interest, so I gave it a try. The reviewer was right:) It was better than a fair few restaurants in the Punjab too, come to mention it. The vegetarian thali was simply perfect. Tha taste combo was top notch. A dedicated chef, great service, and very good value. It's popular for good reason.

Bar François is a charming neighborhood bistro situated in the heart of the city, offering quality fast food during lunchtime on weekdays. The highlight of their menu is their delicious burger, which many have raved about. You can enjoy your meal outside while taking in the beautiful views of the river and downtown Bayonne. The salads are also highly recommended. The daily menu is excellent, and the service is top-notch, but it's advisable to arrive early as it tends to get crowded.
You must go there to taste their burger! One of the most delicious burgers I have eaten in my entire life. You can sit outside and sit in the beautiful sun overlooking from one side the beautiful river and from the other side the beautiful streets of the Bayonne downtown. Salad are really good as well but are not so big. Go for the burger! It is just amazing.
