🪭A pretty solid spot in the middle of Bayonne for an afternoon lunch, the tapas isn’t available till 6pm but there other options on the menu. The staff are really great / accommodating here however my Aperol Spritz was defiantly watered down and the ice meant that the flavour was quite weak. It being a little stronger would have been nice but overall a nice experience. 🪭🫕

Lovely location, and the drinks were fine, but the food was appalling and poor service. We ordered a squid risotto that was inedible - it had the consistency of dried porridge. We also ordered two steaks, one medium rare, one medium, but both so tough we could only eat less than half before giving up. One of our children had kids chicken nuggets and chips which was ok - bravo! The guest next to us ordered an omelette, and was visibly and quite vocally disappointed with his food. Service was a bit unfriendly and brisk - in hindsight I realised they were probably aware of the poor quality of the food and so avoided being too friendly. What a shame, as it could be a great place. My recommendation - do not eat here.

Perfect regional brasserie with friendly multi-lingual staff, a good menu, and great daily specials. You sit outside on the 'parvis' and watch the world go by by road or river while simply annoying a drink or even a full blown meal. Highly recommended.

This is a cute little restaurant right by the city hall and concert space. We ate here because of it's close proximity right after a concert. Sit upstairs if they will let you because it has a really charming view of the vicinity. They catered well to vegitarian diets and the food was quite good! Most impressive was the service, very professional yet very friendly and a tad flirty servers (the good way where they never cross a line but are really cute and fun). I would recommend eating here.

We really enjoyed our visit to La Karafe with a couple of friends. The food was to share and was very delicious and surprising. Traditional Basque kitchen was very well mixed with the modern taste. The wines were also very surprising. A small wine list showed some good options and after the first wine, we were invited to look at the "wine cellar" behind the bar in order to a new bottle and were very happy with the suggestions and possibilities. Staff was very friendly and some spoke English as well. Would definitely recommend and if we would have stayed longer in Bayonne we would definitely have returned.

Small but awesome selection of wines by the glass, really tasty nibbles, awesome staff. Avoid if you dislike second hand cigarette smoke, you’re going to breathe a lot of it wether you are sitting inside our outside.

We had an awful experience here- avoid at all costs if u are a non French person. The staff are arrogant and obnoxious.Myself and my boyfriend picked this place as we arrived in bayonne late and this was one of the few still open. I tried to speak a little french whuch i admit was terrible but was then subjected for the rest of the evening to the waitress and a table of her friends laughing and make nasty comments about us. My boyfriend is Brazilian and doesn't speak French and even he understood we were being laughed at. To make matters worse and add to our humiliation our table which wasn't secure broke. Our wines glasses broke on top of us to which the waitress made a snide comment and the entire restaurant( who were all French) laughed at us. Absolutely no concern was shown to any possible cuts. On leaving my boyfriend handed the bill our payment to a waitress and he was laughed at and again shown contempt- he was simply being polite. To be honest this place really lived up to the French stereotpye of arrogant and obnoxious snobs. If you are not French then avoid at all costs. We were treated with complete contempt. We left humiliated and paid for the experience. Overpriced also. There are much better places to eat in Bayonne.
