Seafood restaurant
Nestled near the picturesque Vindicio beach, Ristorante Zi' Anna Mare in Formia is a delightful culinary gem that showcases the best of Mediterranean seafood. With its modern ambiance and creative presentations, this restaurant offers an array of delectable dishes such as octopus salad, clam pasta, and exquisite raw fish platters—perfect for savoring on a warm summer evening. Dining here means indulging in the rich flavors of Pontine cuisine, which beautifully blends coastal and terrestrial ingredients influenced by diverse traditions.
Very good sea food, fast service. Popular for locals. So you will not be disapointed. Recommend.

This restaurant is a perfect 4/5. The food was good, but not anything beyond that to make it a 5/5. Service was acceptable, but felt a little disorganized for them with a larger group that we were. Example, some of us didn’t get to order drinks and the first course was getting served. Restaurant was packed, it seems like a popular spot with the locals. Overall, a good restaurant with lots of seafood and wine selection at reasonable prices.
Andrew L — Google review
Zi’ Anna Formia offers dishes that are decent but don't particularly stand out. Average overall, with nothing especially memorable about the presentation or appeal. The seafood platter and fish look fresh but lack uniqueness in preparation or plating.

Good restaurant! Great variety of pasta, fish and meat. We enjoyed the insalata di polpo, the fried calamari, and spaghetti alle vongole.

At Ristorante Pizzeria Michele Chinappi in Formia, seafood takes center stage, even during traditional celebrations like Easter. The menu is a delightful showcase of ocean-inspired dishes, featuring scallops paired with coconut and lime, grilled octopus served alongside potatoes and broccoli, and a unique maquadro pasta with calamari ragu. The ambiance is warm and inviting, thanks to the dedicated team led by Michele Chinappi himself—a sommelier known for his expertise—and his wife Angela.
We have been there as tourists ;) I guess we showed it also by drinking beer and not obeying the Italian dinner rules (like ordering first-second plate…) but they were friendly and handled us well. Food was delicious and atmosphere on the terrace was authentic. Everybody knew each other and were like family. The crew and owners were friendly and organized us a table (carrying it from another part of the garden)Probably what we paid did not worth the effort. That is why I want to thank especially by leaving this review.

Trying to be fancier than it is. Vibe was off from walking in. We stuck around only because it was extremely hot and the restaurant next door wasn’t taking any more walk ins.

Very happy with the service and food. Spaghetti gluten free with clamps was delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant. We will come back!
Isa P — Google review
We found the restaurant online and booked a table because of the good looking online presence. Unfortunately, it was a disappointment. We were served by what looked like the owner in a condescending way from the beginning. Because there was only one vegetarian pasta dish, we had to order spaghetti with tomato sauce and we immediately got the feeling that we were looked down upon for ordering a „cheap“ dish - we would have ordered something else (if there would have been something vegetarian on the menu). In the end the pasta tasted mediocre. Even in big italian cities we had better food for less money and much friendlier service. We won‘t come back.
Carmen J — Google review
Very good food (not only pizza), in particular the fish is fresh and well cooked. Good wine choise. Interesting prices, May I suggest to try the 35€ "proposta degustazione" (tasting proposal: 3 fish dishes, 1 pasta with fish and dessert). Take a look to their web site (Michele Chinappi Formia; unfortunately, in italian only, but pictures and prices are very clear :-) )

Seafood restaurant
Nestled within the serene oasis of the Parco di Gianola, Ristorante La Villetta is a culinary gem that has been delighting diners since 1988. The visionary chef Mario Marino transformed his family's summer residence into this charming eatery, where he showcases his exceptional skills and passion for cooking.
I must say that this is a fantastic place to eat with a sommelier on site, and there are wines from every region in Italy. There are also 1/2 liters of wine, very reasonably priced. Everything on the menu was a good choice that I liked making it difficult to decide what to get. Everything we ate was absolutely delicious. The place was a bit out of the way, and in the summer possibly challenging with the beach traffic. But, in November it’s wonderfully available and not crowded! I’m planning on coming back! They are also part of the “The Fork” App making it great! I’m attaching some “samples” of the menu for ideas on pricing which are very reasonable for the top quality of the food.

Perfetto! I liked that restaurant. Tasty sea food. Go and choose anything in the menu. You won’t regret.
Alper S — Google review
This was one of the highlights of our Italy trip (full of great experiences). The mixed sea starters are the best I or my friends remembered having. The main dishes were fantastic and even the kids in our group finished their plates. The staff put up with all the weird requests from our party with the utmost politeness and competence. I had to double check the bill because it came to about half of what I'd expect to pay for this kind of food and service.

Nestled in the charming medieval heart of Formia, Ristorante Il Gatto & La Volpe is a culinary gem that pays homage to traditional Italian cuisine while celebrating local produce. The Simeone family has dedicated decades to creating an inviting atmosphere where guests can savor seasonal dishes crafted from fresh ingredients sourced from small producers.
This was our first time in Formia, and this was a 10/10 experience. Our server Aldo was fantastic, so personable and kind and assisted us with every question we asked. The rest of the staff we encountered were just as kind. The food was also delicious and gourmet. If we are ever back in Formia we will done again. Highly recommend!

Absolutely delicious food. Sea food starter was so tasty and beef on rocket and the black pig pork was incredible. Will definitely go again when visiting Formia.
Wayne L — Google review
This place has some decent feedback and was also recommended by our holiday home host. So after strolling around in Formia we came here for lunch. It was a pretty hot day and we took a seat outside in the back (or front...depends where you walk in). There were only a few tables...it was well after lunchtime, but luckily the kitchen still open. Service was nice and friendly, brought our dog some water even. Food took a while to arrive, but we were on vacation...so, no rush. We ordered two glasses of white wine, the Seafood Gnocchi and Pasta with Sea Snails. White wine was fine. The Gnocchi had just the right bite and the broth was really tasty. A good meal. The Pasta with Snails were also a good choice, maybe not for a seafood beginner, but my wife enjoyed it very much. Good pasta - good flavour. All in all this restaurant is a good choice. Not among the very top on this vacation, but still a very good choice. Prices were fair as well.

Lovely spot to stop by for an evening meal. Products are clearly marked when local and the selection of wines is vast and affordable for all types of budgets ranging from twenty to the hundreds of euros. The service deserves 10 stars all the waiters were amazing and attentive. Marco in particular was very knowledgeable and made us feel home

Some of the reviews here must have been for a different place... everything was excellent. The food here is not just food, it's a full experience. The service is outstanding. There's a reason that this place is famous, you should visit and find out for yourself. Also, the coffee cups have tiny hats. 10/10.

Good food and wonderful service but beware seating outside in the covered and enclosed area. We were sat next to a large group who choked us out with cigars the whole time, very inconsiderate. Not entirely the fault of the restaurant but not discouraged.

Chinappi Formia is a delightful dining spot that truly shines, especially during special occasions like New Year's Eve. Despite being bustling with guests, the restaurant maintains reasonable wait times and offers a warm atmosphere thanks to its friendly and attentive staff. The menu features an array of fresh seafood dishes that are both imaginative and delicious, making it a must-visit for seafood lovers.
Unique experience, best seafood restaurant so far.
Marcello F — Google review
I came back 1 year after I discovered this restaurant. I found the place less crowded, which I appreciated very much and made me enjoy even more their romantic outdoor, but the staff was quite rude (especially at the beginning) and the dishes looked smaller than before. That's why I wouldn’t rate better this time. Nevertheless the plates are always good: I had the fried squids, spaghetti con le telline (which are not easy to find) and a dessert. Chef also offered a few slices of pizza, quite good and the only non-seafood choice. Great plus: the free parking in the center of Formia. Considering the whole expense and experience, I would suggest to improve service or lower the price.

We celebrated my wife's birthday at this lovely restaurant. An imaginative fish menu. The boys were pleased with their pizzas. Charming staff. Go and try it!
Dyfed E — Google review
We celebrated my grandfather's birthday here. Unfortunately it was not a good experience. Beware they try to overcharge you. They don't have a la carte menus and they tell you everything aloud. We had been advised to order a mixed appetiser since we were a large table and we heard the advice of the manager. However in the end we paid more than €100 per person for an appetiser which was rich (but a lot of fried food), a first course (in addition we could not choose more than two first courses per table which is ridiculous), a sorbet and cake. Then obviously there were bottles of wine and water but in any case for being in Formia and for the quality of the food it is an unacceptable price. I'm from the area but I've been living in London for some time now and I work in the restaurant business, so I understand this environment and I really don't recommend going there. If you look at my reviews I have almost always given 5 stars to everyone but here it was really a very bad experience. I hope my review will make you choose other places.

(Translated by Google) Unforgettable Gourmet Experience — a symphony of flavors and refinement! I am still in ecstasy after the dinner I had at this extraordinary restaurant. Each course was a journey, but if I had to choose one to keep in my heart, it would be the “Linguina with butter, lemon and shrimp tartare”. A first course that goes well beyond the concept of “good pasta”: the linguina was perfectly al dente, wrapped in a velvety butter cream that danced with the fine acidity of the lemon. And then… the shrimp tartare! Raw, sweet, very fresh: a noble touch that transformed the dish into an embrace between sea and land. An incredible balance, as delicate as it is profound. Each forkful was a moment of silence, out of “respect”. The raw plate? Textbook. Oysters, scampi, red shrimp and pure tuna: very fresh and served with care, in generous and balanced portions. And the seared tuna? Tender as butter, flavored with a pistachio cream that elevated it to a standing ovation dish. Last but not least, a selection of desserts that are not only beautiful to look at (very instagrammable!), but of a rare artisanal goodness. The wine? We chose a Greco di Tufo Quintodecimo that was able to elegantly accompany each dish. Structured, persistent: a perfect travel companion. Sincere compliments to all the staff: kitchen, dining room, wine selection and raw materials. We'll see you again soon! Ci rivedremo presto!

(Translated by Google) Superlative. I'd like to go back to the review that inspired me to visit this place for the first time. This "Enobistrot" is certainly not a place where you end up by chance, where you end up "of course, let's grab something quick". Ninth, this is one of those few places where you go specifically to "enjoy" your palate, to have a real experience. One of those places that, quoting the review I was talking about before: "rises from the dullness of the usual food and wine predictability of a thousand menus all identical one hundred meters from the sea." cit. In short, exactly what I was looking for, and which unfortunately is found less and less; God bless those who still believe so much in what they do, especially in the catering sector. In all the courses I felt the soul of those who prepared them, authentic flavors, high-level raw materials and research and study in every single dish. The wine list is also excellent with a wide choice, where the restaurant's own cellar is also present (I chose the white, which accompanied the fish courses in a masterful way). The service has always been friendly, punctual and precise; I would only add one small thing, namely the description of the dishes: they really deserve a detailed description for the care with which they are prepared. The location is very quiet, with interiors that go with the rustic theme which I really appreciated. All this at a very honest price, a quality-price oriented more on quality than on price! Highly recommended, I will definitely return to try other Chef's delicacies! 😋 (Original) Superlativo. 😋

I have eaten here so many times and they never disappoint! Pizza options change seasonally, but it is fun to try the new flavors and they are always delicious. Favorite pizza place in Formia (and maybe Italy 🤫)!! Highly recommend.

Do you want to eat a good, light, tasty and interesting pizza? well look no further than Aria Nuova. Went with my family for the first time and everyone was happy with their pizzas, even the one Gluten free option. We all like the twists and interesting takes on classic pizzas :) I have to say that among many other things I appreciated how the staff was super attentive responsive and professional. (booking system and phone responsiveness were top notch too!)

Great restaurant with some new types of pizza never tried before! The best part is all the pizzas are made from whole wheat flour which rather than the traditional 00 flour which makes the pizza lighter and does not feel heavy after having it. That's like the cherry on top. Will recommend to anyone in the area looking for a good place to eat

Delicious food as always! I had a pork shank that was so tender it fell off the bone. The different fries we got for the table were enjoyed and everyone's sandwiches were gone quickly! Love the pirate ambiance & that its not cheesy but well done for all to appreciate.

It's ok. Tasty beers and french fries. Nice atmosphere, private parking. Some lack: no wifi, snacks charged apart (instead of usually offered/included in most of the other places in this area), prices little bit expensives. Waiters ok: guy served us nice, girls missed smiles and no guest oriented. Ultimately ok but nothing special.

La Tavola dei Cavalieri is a charming and intimate dining spot that exudes elegance without being overly formal. Nestled in a cozy atmosphere, it features soft background music that enhances the overall experience. The menu boasts an array of imaginative appetizers and delectable first courses, with standout offerings like crispy fried foods and fresh seafood. Upon stumbling into this delightful restaurant after a long journey from the USA, guests are welcomed warmly by Alessandro, who ensures they feel right at home—even when arriving early for dinner.
Since we are from US we eat a bit early. Alessandro welcomed us early with no problem. I left the meal in his competent hands with a 3 course appetizer then Spaghetti and clam sauce main. He made my 4yr old rigatoni which was exceptional. Great service, nice atmosphere and delicious food. Bravo

The food was effortlessly full of soul and passion. We left the appetizers and mains up to the chef, and were surprised with the best seafood dishes we have tried in Formia so far. I recommend it for those who are up to discover new flavors, guaranteed that they will enjoy every bite.

My wife and I ended up here quite accidentally, as we had just arrived that day from the USA and were very jet lagged, tired, and hungry. Most places did not open until after 8PM for dinner but we found this place as they opened at 7:30 and we were the first customers of the night. We were treated to an amazing meal of 3 small starters of seabreem with tomatoes and pickled onions, peppered squid in a bean sauce, and prawns with a very tasty mayonnaise. All three were delicious with the seabreem being our favorite and one of the best tasting dishes I've had in my life. No exaggeration. For the main course I had cacio e pepe with mussels. Fantastic! My wife had the spaghetti with cod. Both of these dishes were some of the best food we have ever had. To top it off the service was amazing, even though we were the only ones there we were treated like royalty. The staff was so friendly and so accommodating despite our terrible Italian language skills. Our compliments to the entire staff and the chef!

Fabulous. Very good pizza. Pleasant location except the parking can be tough. Brings out the Italian in you.

Good example of how a bad customer service can ruin the experience, even if the food is delicious. We were three and we each ordered a meal with a bottle of wine. First, it took the staff some time to even take our order, then we got the wine but only two glasses instead of three. Then I received my food and I waited for the rest to arrive to have it with my friends. Unfortunately, after 15 minutes still not getting the rest of the food, I had to start eating mine because it was getting cold. I finished the whole plate and only after another few minutes, my friends got their food. Very disappointing. Otherwise, the food was delicious and I definitely recommend you to try this place, very tasty.

(Translated by Google) I return to this place after some time and I find the education, the warmth, the cleanliness, the attention, the friendliness that few, or rather very few places have. The menu of the day was simply excellent, from the starter (which alone would be enough for lunch!) to the dessert. The pappardelle alla montanara, the pork cooked in a wood oven, the millefeuille deconstructed with nougat, coffee and digestive: all fantastic. All surrounded by the discreet and not excessive Christmas atmosphere and the warmth of the fireplace and stove. The bill was also excellent: excellent quality/price ratio. Thanks for a beautiful Sunday. It’s a lovely seafood restaurant in Formia with a great choice on the menu. The seafood is fantastic, and you can tell it’s fresh food. The staff there are very welcoming and our waiter even used his English language skills to explain to us what some of the dishes were and provide recommendations. All of the recommendations were spot-on and we enjoyed all of the food that we were given. I would recommend this place!

A place for Italians only! If you want to go to a place with a nice view, talk to friends and put something in your stomach, it's OK! But if you want to try real DELICIOUS Italian cuisine, run far and fast! If you are a tourist and don't know Italian, only one elderly waiter speaks decent English. The place is good, there is parking and a nice view, tables inside and outside under a canopy, the portions are large and the staff, although ignorant, is smiling, but that's it! Their traditional fried bread balls with seaweed were prepared a long time ago, the seafood pasta had little bits (apparently not well cleaned mussels). I have no words for the fried squid, if I had taken my daughter's hair elastic I would have chewed it more easily!!!

The food was nothing short of a dream—delicious and beautifully presented. On top of that, the prices are very reasonable. We felt right at home and thoroughly enjoyed our time here. I highly recommend this place and can’t wait to come back!

Loved most of the foods we ordered. We especially enjoyed the suated clams... they were overly delicious that now that im writing this feedback makes me crave for It again haha 😜. Another thing that i liked was the pizza, they weren't big but they were tasty and satisfying. The fried calamari were particularly good. One of the best ive ever tired so far. Oh, another attraction to this resto is their location. Nice panorama because it's overlooking the sea and i'd say its a perfect spot for a romantic meal for lovers. The only thing i can suggest is that you should get the spot where there the umbrellas to protect yourself from humidity when you come during the night otherwise you can bring yourself a cardigan, a jacket, and/or a hat.

It is a beautiful place with a magic view on the sea (it would be better with some lights in the night for the dinner time). The food was special, especially the pasta. The staff was not so present and there were some troubles with our table, despite we ordered before at the phone.

Little charming restaurant by the seaside! Waiters are super kind and speak English as well! We got one pizza and 2 pastas and then dessert as well. Servings are really big and pizza tastes amazing! If you are looking for a place for dinner we strongly recommend it!

During our week-long culinary adventure in the area, we stumbled upon Ristorante Pizzeria Roncesare, and it quickly became our favorite dining spot. The attentive yet unobtrusive service made for a delightful experience. Their pizzas are truly exceptional—some of the best we've tasted, even surpassing those in Rome! The menu is extensive but easy to navigate, featuring not just pizza but also other delectable options that pleased various family members.
In the past three years they have had consistently polite and prompt service, delicious food, and a lovely ambiance. We enjoy dinner here, they manage to be very family friendly and upscale at the same time. The garden is always well maintained and beautiful. Definitely one of our favorites!

Fantastic food and efficient, helpful staff. The menu offers a wide choice of food and wines, but I must recommend the pizzas. Easily the best we sampled on our trip. English speaking staff and an english menu helped make our evenings there a success. The restaurant was clean and modern inside. There is an outdoor seating area which was being remade with pond and fountain when we visited. It looked terrific. If you are staying in one of the many holiday homes / campsites in the area, go here early in your visit. You will want to go back for more. They offer a takeaway service for pizzas. We didn’t try them, but it looked like it was very popular with the locals.

My family and I have been staying in the area for about a week sampling all the local restaurants and last night we found this one. I'm so pleased we did. It's the best by far. The service is excellent - very attentive staff without being overbearing. The pizza's are the best of all we have tried, including those in Rome where we started our holiday. Prices are low, the menu is extensive but not confusing and there are some very good options beyond pizza which some of my family sampled and were very happy with. The restaurant is in a quiet, accessible spot and very well laid out, with modern decor and seating inside and out. The atmosphere on a Thursday night was great too, lots of locals eating and drinking (a good sign) and staff the were very friendly.

I never thought I would have the worst pizza of my life in Italy. What a disappointment 😞 Don't try the anchovies pizza. They should call it SALT PIZZA Save your money. It's definitely not worth the wait or the money. I didn't eat my pizza, and no one bothered to ask me if there was anything wrong with my food. First day in the area and the locals recommended. Being from NYC, we are pizza snobs. I have to say it was delicious. Perfect crust. Great selection of toppings and wood fired to boot. Inside, the place is truly spacious and very quaint!!! Also ideal for birthday parties. It also has an inflatable play area for children. We ordered, and here comes the best part...everything was truly delicious!!!! From the pizza to the meat...my compliments!!! I highly recommend it!!!! (Original) Ma che piacevole scoperta!!!! (Translated by Google) Two hours to get the pizza at the table. We had a reservation for 8:15 PM, and we arrived at that time. The pizza arrived at 10:25 PM. There were 10 of us. At the cash register, the lady initially demanded that we all pay by card or cash (unheard of). Then she came to her senses, but she prevented us from splitting the bill among the 10 of us. So, each of us paid for something we had taken. Since we couldn't share the shared items (two appetizers, water, wine, etc.), we had to split them between us afterwards. When we pointed out that we'd waited over two hours for the pizza, she treated us rudely, assuming she was right because it was Saturday. Of these 10 people, and of those these 10 people talk to, no one will ever return to this place again. Bye bye! Bye bye!

We were treated with care, courtesy, and kindness. Ristorante Da Veneziano is a hidden gem that you might stumble upon when hunger strikes, especially after a long day of exploring. Despite initial concerns due to its quiet ambiance and mixed online reviews, this charming eatery quickly won over the hearts of diners with its warm hospitality. The owner greets guests like family, creating an inviting atmosphere that sets the stage for a delightful meal.
I have to admit that I did not check the reviews before my family and I ate here. We came across this restaurant and stopped as it was already 8pm and we was hungry. There was no one else in the restaurant apart from us so that was worrying. The owner was very friendly and welcoming. Whilst we waited to order I checked the online reviews and again I was worried as they weren’t great. I have to say that it was one of our favourite meals of the holiday. Food was substantial and tasty. Prices were not overly expensive and the service was second to none. The owner chatted to us about his time in London and was charming. We’re planning on returning tomorrow night which will be our last night in Formia.

(Translated by Google) I honestly don't know what drives people to review this place with 4/5 stars, the only thing that has more value in this restaurant is the location. The menu is poor and depends on what you have at that moment (the catch of the day, details), they offer you a seafood salad for €20.00 describing it as a nice dish to eat, even a substantial one. The dish arrives and it seems like we are at caritas, low quality fish. Total disorganization, for a place located in an excellent position. For those who want to go to a restaurant and go home with a full stomach, I advise against it, you leave this restaurant hungrier than before. Totally not recommended! (Translated by Google) Restaurant and pizzeria located near the Itaca shopping center in Formia. The interior of the restaurant is sober, modern and welcoming. The environment is not noisy or confusing: the atmosphere is relaxing, ideal for an evening in good company. The menu, given that the specialty is cod, mainly includes fish-based dishes but there are also some meat-based ones. In any case, it ranges from appetizers (bruschetta, fried foods and cold cuts and cheese platters) to first courses (mostly fish), from second courses (fish and some cuts of meat) to desserts and even pizzas. There is no shortage of beers that can be drunk both on tap and in bottles, as well as wine. As soon as you sit at the table, the warm welcome from the staff materializes in a small plate of tomato bruschetta. The fish-based first courses are really good: the raw materials and the cooking of the pasta are excellent. The cod trio is exceptional: for the fried cod the batter is very good and not oily while the cod with sauce is accompanied by a tomato sauce which is difficult to resist the temptation to make a slip of. In all dishes where there is cod, bones are very rare. The desserts are also delicious: you can choose between semifreddos, truffles, ice cream and sorbets. The staff is very friendly and kind, ready to satisfy every customer request.

(Translated by Google) We ate wonderfully. We had cod meatballs, seafood linguine (plenty and delicious), and a truly excellent fried calamari and shrimp platter. The fried anchovies, in particular, were the best I've ever had. The fish was fresh and flavorful, as well as well-cooked, and the service was prompt despite the restaurant being packed. The prices were more than fair. Highly recommended. (Original) Abbiamo mangiato benissimo. PizzArt is an incredibly delicious pizza restaurant with friendly staff who, although they may not speak English, make communication easy and smooth by utilizing a translation app. The speed at which they prepare orders is astonishing - typically taking only 3-4 minutes. This establishment comes highly recommended and is definitely worth revisiting. Their pizzas are not only tasty but also beautifully presented. However, it's important to note that the toilet facilities are unavailable as this restaurant primarily operates as a takeout place.
Excellent pizza and great service! Hard to say which was our favourite but we loved the mortadella and pistacchio, stracciatella and margarita pizzas.

(Translated by Google) We were passing through on our way back from Ponza, on a midweek day and in the early evening. In half an hour we had dinner and were comfortable. The guys were very kind and attentive, the pizza has a meltable and light dough, with a honeycomb edge but not too pronounced. Very simple but welcoming environment, friendly and fast service. Overall very good pizza, the quality of the ingredients is clearly perceptible. I would make a few small notes only on the cooking of the bottom (especially of one of the two pizzas), but it probably depended on the bed of the wood-fired oven, with a temperature that was too high at the beginning of the evening. For the rest, everything went very well, very good value for money, recommended.

(Translated by Google) For Valentine's Day we booked a table for two. It was our first time at this restaurant and I must say we were not disappointed!! The entrance is elegant, there were many white lanterns with large candles and the room is very large with many windows and many flowers.... shame only for a hand-painted window with a representative of little fish... and It is more typical of a trattoria than an elegant restaurant. While we were having dinner there was a good singer who accompanied us throughout the dinner. The staff is numerous, kind and well organised. The menu was fixed for Valentine's evening... they immediately served us a prosecco with fried cod morsels, seaweed fritters, polenta meatballs and mini rustic puff pastries (good but they could have been delicious if they had been warmer). Then they served us a mixed seafood appetizer (really good). As a first course they served us some good crepes in brown sauce. For the second course there was an excellent grilled prawns with side dishes. Finally, a lemon sorbet with wild strawberries, a large heart-shaped cake and a dessert buffet with many varieties, bitters and coffee. Obviously we drank water and a bottle of white wine. Then, a very nice thing, during dinner they turned off the lights and paraded all the waiters with trays full of Perugia kisses and gave them to all the customers. Furthermore, at the moment of the cake, behind the windows of the restaurant, they also turned on many fountains of lights... it was a very exciting and spectacular thing. All this at the right price of €40 per person. I have to say a nice evening in this restaurant. We have decided that we will return however on an evening without a fixed menu so as to be able to choose on the menu. I recommend it.

Ristorante Dong Hu is a delightful culinary destination that offers an enticing blend of Chinese and Japanese cuisine. Diners can indulge in an all-you-can-eat experience at reasonable prices, making it perfect for those looking to savor a variety of flavors without breaking the bank.
Wonderful Chinese restaurant with awesome delicious sushi, pictorial of all foods and hot Chinese dishes. WE had shrimp rolls, streamed dumplings, sweet and sour chicken and curried beef. Everything was served hot and delicious. Covid checks and very clean restaurant.
Lise D — Google review
Dong Hu has a good variety of options to choose from when it comes to seating. You can sit at standard tables inside, large booths inside for big parties or eat outside comfortably. The menus are easy to understand and have English translations. We had lunch which was All You Can Eat for 17.90 I believe which is a decent price for the options they offer. They had a sole lunch menu so they might offer more on the dinner menu. The food is very presentable and we saw alot of cool sushi boats come out and smoking cauldrons which was fun to see. Me personally, I focus more on the quality and the taste of the food. Unfortunately it wasn't pleasing. The udon noodles had an odd sauce on them, the grilled shrimp had no seasonings, the sushi rolls were ok, not great. The grilled Salmon on rice was actually very very good but unfortunately that was probably the only thing I would come back for. The worst part of the meal was by far the sweet and sour pork. It was terrible and had a soapy after taste. I never encourage people to order the Chinese dishes at any sushi restaurants in Italy because they just don't seem to know what they're doing, I always stick with their sushi items and rate them mostly of that. But that sweet and sour pork was disgusting, I almost wanted to ask the staff or owner to try it to show them what they're serving to customers(Gordon Ramsay vibes lol). I would suggest looking elsewhere if you're looking for really good tasting sushi. This place focuses more on presentation than food quality.

Disappointing. Ordered the noodles on Thursday evening with a request for no eggs written down on the order sheet and told to the server but lo and behold there was eggs. I ended up putting dinner in the bin and couldn’t go back to them either as I’d already left town. It wasn’t even busy for them to make such a schoolboy error as I was the first customer there. Always check out your order before you take off with them is what I’ve learnt. Such a shame too as otherwise the food is quite nice.

Nestled in the charming hilltop village of Maranola, Ostaria Castello 43 is a delightful culinary gem that promises an unforgettable dining experience. Amazing authentic restaurant in an old mountain village! Staff was extremely nice, despite my limited Italian. Food was phenomenal - we had the antipasto platter, Pasta as a Primo, Pork for my girlfriend and steak for me as a Secondo and Cheesecake and Tiramisu for dessert. Literally every item was amazing. Prices are very reasonable, especially the red house wine for 5 EUR for 1/2 liter. Highly recommended :)

Fantastic little restaurant tucked away in the most picturesque old Italian hilltop village. The owner couldn't have been friendlier despite my poor Italian and the food was amazing and good value. DONT TRY AND DRIVE TO THE DOOR - the streets are ridiculously narrow (even by Italian standards) and there's no parking. Instead use the free car park on the bend on the way into the old village, then its a beautiful 5 min walk through the ancient cobbled streets. Follow the signs to Ostaria 42. The mixed chefs appetisers were delicious and were plenty for starter for family of 4.

Everything was just perfect and most importantly: the food we got was excellent. I would emphasise the two best dishes, (but everything else was really good too): ‘Broken Goat’ (yep, that’s the direct translation) and involtino di pollo con salsiccia on a bedding of a kind of walnut sauce. Omg, it was good! We had a lovely red wine too - smooth and perfect. (Translated by Google) This restaurant in Formia attracted me based on the positive reviews. When we arrived, we sat inside despite the heat, but unfortunately we had booked late, so we had to make do. We booked directly from the main course because we weren't very hungry, so we ordered two mixed grills, which were good, and as an appetizer, just to keep up with the wait, we had seaweed fritters, with two glasses of wine and grilled vegetables. Everything was delicious. The wait was a bit long, but the restaurant was busy, which was to be expected. When I went to pay, I discovered on the receipt that the seaweed fritters had been sold for a whopping 9 euros, and they were 8 or 9 simple frozen seaweed fritters. I was truly shocked, considering that the entire fried food, with other ingredients besides the fritters, was 4 euros more (13 euros). Despite this, the owner was still polite and kind. Well, what can I say? If I wanted to come back to try other dishes, after this mess on the pancakes, I won't come back.

If I could rate them 8000 stars I would!!!!! I had been on abt 3 flights, got lost in the mountains and couldn't find a person that spoke English... I felt defeated and the guy we got our Airbnb from sent us here after another location was closed and boy was I glad he did. As soon as we there Rosanna (the sweetest sweetheart) took our order, tried to understand what she could and translate, was patient, kind and made the whole experience for us, she felt like family!!! Then we met her Aunt Susie and I mean at that point we were basically HOME! We came back here for our last night, our official anniversary and we laughed and talked to Susie (Rossana had class) until we couldn't laugh anymore. If you are thinking abt going there.... RUN THERE! All that was just abt Service..... the food itself matches the service. We ordered abt 3 entreess and a pizza every night! Some of the best food I've ever had!!! Some of the best memories of Italy I have!! Love you guys!

My mother is close friends with the owner; I have been going to the Sedano Allegro since I was a small child in the late 90s, so PERHAPS there might be a bit of bias in my review. With that said, Al Sedano Allegro, objectively speaking, is an absolutely fantastic restaurant. As a Italian-Canadian born in Gaeta but raised in Canada, going to Al Sedano Allegro is ALWAYS one of the things I look forward to the most in going back to Italy to see family. I have been to many places in Italy, but I cannot imagine there being a place that better ties together all the aspects of what makes a restaurant experience good: authentic, thoughtful and delicious food, friendly staff who quite clearly puts their heart and soul into the place without any pretensions, all in a simple but lovely intimate environment tucked away in a quiet corner of the town. Like I said, it may be because of my personal ties with the restaurant, but even for a passing tourist, I would be shocked if one could not see even a little bit of what I see: a place that feels, in its own way, like a little piece of home away from home.

Kora Park Resort is a laid-back hotel located in Formia, offering a serene getaway with sea views. The resort features an outdoor pool, two bars, and a restaurant serving delicious Italian cuisine with poolside dining. Guests can enjoy complimentary breakfast and onsite massages while taking in the tranquil surroundings. The friendly staff provides excellent service, ensuring a warm welcome and attentive care throughout the stay.
My family and I have been coming to kora park for years and we couldn’t love it more than we already do! The stuff is incredibly helpful and attentive, everyone is always ready to satisfy every need and to make real every wish; especially, Stefania is one of the kindest person we’ve ever met. Breakfast is satisfying, the food delicious; moreover, my daughter is lactose intolerant and she never had problems: there are lots of dairy free options (even ice cream!) and they’re very good. Rooms are accurately and meticulously cleaned. The pool is large and it’s easy to enjoy time here; there’s a very big garden where animals can freely run and kids can play fearlessly. We would recommend kora park to everyone!

The hotel's public areas are charming and beautiful, and the pool is immaculate and tidy. The staff is professional and pleasant, but the rooms are outdated, with a TV that barely works. The location is good and only a few minutes from the big city next door.

Great venue in Formia for large parties. From the ample and well kept gardens it is possible to enjoy a nice view of the highest peaks of the Aurunci mountain chain on one side, and of the gulf of Gaeta on the other. I was there for my grandma's 80th birthday celebration. The only aspect I'm not 100% happy about was food. Some of the dishes we were served were really good, whereas some others left us slightly disappointed (albeit none of them were bad).

Ristorante Pizzeria Il Tartufo is a delightful culinary gem that truly shines for mushroom lovers, thanks to its owner who takes personal care in managing the establishment. The menu features an array of fresh seafood, sourced daily from local fishermen, ensuring that diners can enjoy the freshest catch available. It's advisable to inquire about the day's specials to savor what has just arrived at the port.

A restaurant with good quality food, perfect place is you love mushrooms spice the owner is personally managing it. However you can have delicious fish thanks to the fresh provision coming everyday from the fisherman and port. Better to ask for the daily available dishes to have the opportunity to get what just arrived.

This review is for a lunch time meal. The order was for Tagliatelle with Porcini mushrooms. The service was just ok. The food tasted good but was expensive compared to the portion which was waaaaay too small. And here's what I felt happen. The people two tables over ordered the same thing because I saw when it came out. Mine came out not even a minute after theirs came out, but I had just sat down and it looked as they had been there for a while. The portion on their plate was considerably larger. It looked to me they pulled a little off the two plates and put it on mine so as not to cook something fresh. I sensed the lady helping us was bothered by the fact that it was two people ordering only one plate of food. Tiny portion of leftover pasta, (no bread basket though the neighboring table had bread) plus two bottles of water was 15EURO. I wish I would have taken a picture of this disappointing dish. This place is across from the street where I live and it was my first time trying them. I doubt I will go back, which is too bad because they are so convenient. Outdoor seating was nice.

La Taverna del Buttero is a delightful dining spot that offers a cozy and relaxed atmosphere, perfect for enjoying a memorable meal. During my visits, I was impressed by the attentive staff who were incredibly patient and helpful, especially since my wife and I speak limited Italian. The restaurant's menu features exquisite steaks, including options from their dry aging fridge where you can discuss your preferred cut and cooking style with the knowledgeable team.
We walked in at 6:50, told they didn't open until 7:30pm which seemed the norm for the area. As we stood on their doorstep trying to find somewhere else to go they took pity and let us in early. Thank you. My dad loves a blue steak and was so impressed he wants to go back tomorrow! Beautifully cooked Steaks are just to die for

We had a great dinner here. The restaurant is cosy and relaxed. My wife and I speak very little Italian, the staff were very helpful and patient with us, and we had the exact meal that we wanted. I had read some of the reviews before we arrived and noticed some of the comments regarding the price. My wife had fillet steak from the menu, I chose a "prize-cut" from the dry ageing fridge. I discussed the cut and size that I wanted and how I wanted it cooked. The weight and price were shown to me before it was cooked, so there were no surprises when the bill came. I read a comment in the reviews, someone claiming to have eaten Kobe steak at a Michelin starred restaurant at the same price.......no way! Not on this planet! I had one of the more expensive cuts, Kobe/A5 Wagyu will cost you 4-5 times more to cook it yourself! Without a Michelin star chef! For me, this was a very good steak at a price I would expect to pay at any good steak restaurant. I would highly recommend this restaurant and would not hesitate to eat here again.

Find as Turistic restaurant even if suggested as local place. We went for steaks and rounds of starters. The mozzarella was amazing but found the rest bit poor in amount and quality. Steaks quality were good but lack of ingredients stated on menu. Basically the sauces were basic and nothing special. But staff were very helpful and tried to sort it out as much as they could. Wine list was bit short, probably because a busy day so totally understandable. But to be honest, staff try very hard to give the best they can.

Love this restaurant! We ate here twice while we stayed in Formia. Once as a couple and once with our family. Great steaks, lovely decor with airconditioning. Plenty for vegetarians, the mini gnocchi with smoked eggplant is fabulous. Lovely friendly staff. Great wine list.
Peggy M — Google review
Meat tasting badly. Service ok but beef was not good.
Guðmundur H — Google review
Everything was in the average, meat was good but still on the average. The fact that pushes me to give 2/5 is that, despite the averageness of the place, prices were mad. 100€ each for a steak one entree diveded by two and a bottle of wine, the cheapest. Yeah, we took one of the best meat they had, but prices are still mad, I repeat meat was on the average. I ate Kobe steak for that price at a Michelin starred restaurant while this place, again, was just on the average, except fo the prices, that are a lot inflated for the place, the service and the food (we even ate with paper towels). And lastly be very careful. Don't trust them when they advice you (obv they push you on the most expensive even if you want something else) and when they present you the meat take care about the weight, I think they push you to take heavier steaks specially if you take expensive ones, the one they gave us was enough for three people to eat! In fact there were leftovers. We just trusted, don't do the same mistake. Be very careful when you go there.

So I was forced to order a sandwich and remove the bun. Shortly after, they brought out a plated burger from the kitchen (ordered by someone else)😶. The steak was actually a thin slice of meat. Overall, the food was good and the meat tender, the burger a little dry. Decent service, prices a little high. (Translated by Google) After years in which I had almost resigned myself to finding a place where you could eat well in Formia, the Da.Nì restaurant, discovered by pure chance, turned out to be a real surprise. I was struck first of all by the photos posted by the customers, where it was already clear that there was the "magic touch" of a trained Chef and then the confirmation came by reading the article by the gastronome Luciano Pignataro, a real guarantee! We booked the day before and were advised that my fiancée had celiac disease; no problem from starter to dessert. We had dinner outside, in a well-kept and lovely garden, welcomed by the owner, a very helpful and professional girl. The internal room is equally pleasant, with the cellar corner (present numerous and various labels, both local and regional), the sea water tank (with Canadian lobsters, blue lobsters and lobsters) and the fresh fish corner (bream fish, St. Peter's, turbot, sole, amberjack, squid, squid, prawns). Important mention must also be made to the quality of pasta used, Pastificio Gentile and Pastificio dei Campi (10€/Kg) and to the Itri olive oil, labeled Da.Nì, delicate but at the same time full of character. As starters we ordered the crudo consisting of salmon, tuna, squid and passion fruit, really very good, in particular the squid melted in the mouth and the Da.Nì starter, consisting of octopus in salad with crunchy carrots and celery ( excellent cooking), sautéed with mussels, clams, cockles and sconcigli, oyster in tempura (very original and tasty) and mixed fried anchovies, treglie, cod and suacia. For the wine we chose a Falanghina Cantina Di Maro, although not high-end, it was very pleasant. As first courses we opted for two seafood risottos with raw shellfish, good, rich in fish, we would have liked only the rice less cooked, perhaps it had been prepared for several tables, as risotto is a dish that takes a long time to make (eight years as a chef , "now ex" of restaurants and hotels, they taught) and having eaten the starters very calmly, they will have arrived slightly more cooked than expected, but no problem. As a second course we ate fried squid and squid, truly sublime, they melted in the mouth, both for the quality of the product and for the perfect short cooking; we really appreciated the willingness to prepare it with rice flour and oil separately as we had requested it gluten-free. Finally, to conclude the dinner, we had a semifreddo with meringues, apple, raisins rehydrated in rum and white chocolate and as fruit, a dish with passion fruit, all really excellent! Excellent cuisine and excellent service, I complimented the owners, the Chef and the Dining Room Manager; congratulations also to their collaborators, essential in a process of constant growth. Excellent quality/price, we will return. Greetings from Naples, Joseph and Naomi.

We were immediately greeted kindly by the staff, who directed us to a table set up outside in the garden, where they also grow aromatic herbs. The only complaint is the dim lighting. The menu is very varied, from starters to meat and fish main courses. You can also choose from several pizzas, including those with a 5-grain dough. We decided to try the latter and were truly surprised by the lightness of the dough and the combination of ingredients. Furthermore, to satisfy our stomachs a little, we initially ordered a portion of "fritto campano," which was really light and not very greasy. We left for €28, which is a fair price in my opinion. We'll definitely return to try the other pizzas and other truly tempting dishes. È possibile scegliere anche tra diverse varietà di pizze, tra le quali quelle con l'impasto ai 5 cereali. this small restaurant, cozily situated a bit back from the road is a must visit if you are in the area! the food is fantastic, the service is friendly and professional, but at the same time familial between the staff, which creates a homely atmosphere. despite the language barrier, we had a delicious meal. I would, however, recommend that the owner make a menu card in English so that the tourists can better see what delicious food this restaurant offers.! until then, I would recommend checking Facebook or Instagram where there are pictures of several of their dishes Cant make another so i wil poste nr 2 here aswel On this last night of our vacation, my mom wanted a classic Italian dish. That's why we chose to revisit this fantastic restaurant where we were greeted by big smiles and what seemed like genuine joy at seeing us again. Once again communicated via translator app which works really well. Shortly after our order came a plate of garlic bread, after this came a smaller serving, then another smaller serving and finally the main course. Our wish to end the holiday with a classic Italian meal turned into a culinary journey through several classic dishes that we would not have ordered ourselves if we had to translate the menu, so we could not end the holiday better.! Thank you very much for this dining experience 😁

I ordered the Diavola without cheese, which wasn't counterbalanced with additional sauce. I could see some of the bread base because they're was hardly any sauce on it. The only good part about the pizza was the salami piccante. The sauce wasn't great, and the dough was too thin in my opinion. My friend ordered a Margherita and a kebab pizza and said it wasn't very good either unfortunately. I forgot to take pictures, sorry. For Italy's pizza standard this wasn't very good :(.

Great pizza, delicious kebab. Just a little busy on weekends for a reason. There is no parking space outside, this can get very challenging sometimes. But food is fresh and authentic.

Pizzeria L'Angolo, located in Formia at the corner of via Rialto, Piazza Marconi, and via Lavagna, offers a pleasant dining experience. Besides their indoor seating area, they also provide outdoor seating during the summer months in Piazza Marconi across from S. Teresa Church. The menu boasts delicious pizzas with a variety of fresh ingredients to choose from. Service is fast and attentive to customer requests.
The best pizza I have had in italy. Highly recommended. Owners Ciro and Rosaria were fantastic

(Translated by Google) We got some takeaway pizzas and I have to say they weren't bad. Friendly staff. The only thing in the evening was that we were a little thirsty even though we had only taken daisies... but nothing serious! Cheap prices and there is the possibility of eating on site. Advise! Consiglio!

(Translated by Google) Arriving at 9:00 PM in the Formia square, we asked the clerk if we could dine in without a reservation. A few tables were free, and they sat us down. Unfortunately for us, after ordering two pizzas at 9:00 PM, the pizzas arrived at around 10:39 PM. Meanwhile, the beer and water were hot. Thankfully, it wasn't crowded. The pizza, however, was good.

(Translated by Google) We had dinner in the square on a Saturday evening packed with people and despite this the service was very fast and the waiters were friendly and kind. It is certainly not a gourmet pizzeria, you are served in plastic cups in the center of the table as well as handkerchiefs and everything you need, but the pizza is excellent, it has a huge choice of pizzas and appetizers and the prices are really honest.

(Translated by Google) Worst pizzeria I've ever seen. There were 15 of us in the restaurant, and I mean in the ENTIRE restaurant, and we had to wait more than 1:30 for 7 pizzas. The location sucks, you can see the vintage clock on the right and the oxygen sponsor on the left. Not to mention the staff, there are only 2 of them, and we had to tell them 15 times to take the order. The music was terrible (this was personal), the cutlery was terrible, the plastic plates for the appetizers were few choices of appetizers, and the portions were tiny. Furthermore, my menu was delivered incorrectly, meaning it was missing some pages that the others had. I ordered a diavola pizza, the dough was decent, but the tomato and mozzarella were really bad. I found the salami slices large, but at least it was spicy, so I'm giving it a star.

(Translated by Google) Worst "pizza" I've ever eaten. Chewing gum is undoubtedly more digestible and less gummy. As if that wasn't enough, after saying I was paying by card the price was raised, which was inconceivable to me. On the semi-sort of pizza I also found not one but two iron pins. If you want to try to eat something edible I strongly advise you not to set foot inside the "pizzeria" (Original) "pizza"peggiore che abbia mai mangiato.

The owner called us multiple times before coming to the restaurant because we had made a large booking (which started to become annoying at some point). When we arrived, the reception was okay, but then when we got the first appetizer things started going downhill. The “Insalata di mare” was terrible, horrible presentation and very small portion (costing 16 euros, and it had more carrots than fish). Mezzi paccheri were alright, but the linguine were mediocre at best, flavorless and very dry. The dessert (cannolo scomposto) was okay, but the cheesecake was frozen and it was very difficult to eat. As to the service, one of the waiters wasn’t very polite, he asked for everybody’s order multiple times and when we asked for some dishes that were unavailable he didn’t even suggest an alternative or express any feeling either way. The atmosphere was decent, but there was an annoying alarm that went off twice and there was some loud music nearby. Overall, wouldn’t come back again.

Absolutely lovely food and wine, and staff let someone smoke cigarettes right next to us, which ruined the whole experience: they are ok with it and the smoker sneering about it. We had champagne, caviar and entrees ruined by cigarettes, very unfortunate. Cigarettes do not go with fine dining!

Planned our day to have dinner here at 7, just to be told on a bad tone, at 7:30 that they will open after 8? This is not hospitality. My entire group was shocked by the attitude and we went somewhere else. Your hours on google are not correct.. it’s the middle of the summer. What’s the excuse? Later edit: changed the hours after this happened so you could reply to my review? Wow.

If you're on the hunt for a new sushi experience, look no further than Sushi Yu! This vibrant establishment offers a delightful mix of sushi and hot food options, making it perfect for both seasoned sushi lovers and newcomers alike. With an all-you-can-eat buffet priced around 18 euros during lunch, you can indulge in a variety of dishes without breaking the bank. The spacious layout is ideal for larger groups, ensuring everyone can enjoy their meal together.
Excellent selection for someone new to sushi and vegetarian! Although we did eat some salmon rolls! Even though I don’t speak Italian or Chinese ordering was super easy! We had all you can eat for €18.90 per person. We ordered several entrees and salads and everything was delicious!

New sushi place with decent sushi as well as hot food items. The price is the same all day with different price points for the buffet depending on what you get to eat. The establishment is large and good for big groups. Pro tip: take a picture of your order slip before it heads to the kit hen for the most accurate depiction of what ordered what.

This place offers great value for all you can eat. The sushi is great and the service is welcoming. They just do a little too much with additives for my taste when it comes to what they top the rolls and nigiri with. All you can eat is around 18 euro for lunch. For what they offer, it's a great deal.

(Translated by Google) .. returning to Rome, after spending the morning at the Roman port, we look for a place to eat something, it's Monday and most of the restaurants are closed, then among the reviews we notice this fish and chip shop, we call and they tell us that they would have us wait A spartan fishmonger with a ready-made food corner, but which, if necessary, prepares what you prefer from the fishmonger's counter The well-assorted refrigerated counter with excellent fresh fish, red mullet, anchovies, sea bream, cod, oysters, cuttlefish, turbot, sole and other defrosted fish, prawns, prawns, then cod and cod hearts My son lets himself be captivated by a swordfish lasagna, then zeppoline of various types with seaweed, with crab I see the Gaeta tiella with octopus and I can't resist, 2 pieces, then fried fresh calamari and anchovies A couple of beers and 2 bottles of water, we sit outside under a gazebo, it's very hot, but after a very short time he brings us what's already ready to the table, tiella with octopus, lasagne and zeppoline, followed by nice, warm and generous dishes, fried very well and without grease, the fried calamari and the fried anchovies, very very good It was a nice experience, quick, fresh, friendly and without commitment, but we ate well and we thanked Domenico for the hospitality and service The price is adequately correct, I believe that popping in for a quick lunch or to purchase some good fish to take back to Rome is definitely worth the trip.

(Translated by Google) A simple fishmonger's shop from the outside, but once you sit down and eat, it's a real spectacle. Fish, first courses, second courses, appetizers, fried dishes—something incredible. I personally had cooked salmon with side dishes, two mixed fried fish dishes, one calamari dish, and for the first course, the seafood lasagna. What can I say, ladies and gentlemen? Delicious, to say the least. The atmosphere is very basic, but if you want to return to tradition and origins, it's the perfect place. I highly recommend going.

To use the bathroom, you had to go through the kitchen, a bathroom that I also found to be in terrible condition. The dishes, once they arrived, were inedible. The only thing we could do was pay, leave everything on the table, and go to another pizzeria.
