Finally! I have this place for such a long time on my list. This place is very famous and we were lucky to find a table. And finally I got my Windbeutel. 🤩 Well, the Windbeutel is crispy, filled with whipped cream and (the one I had) with blueberry sauce. It was good in the way they served it and it was good but still not the best one I ever have. The service was very nice and friendly. There are also some tables outside where you can enjoy the beautiful view of the mountains. It’s worth to stop by.

I wanted to rate it 6 stars, but I can't more than 5. Very quick service, friendly staff. Typical Bavarian dishes. Loved it!

In Ruhpolding we started our day to hiked, lunch and hiked again after that we drove to Windbeutelgräfin to sit down, take coffee and of course to order Windbeutel (cream puff). Yummy, yummy you will see in the photos how big is the cream puff. We order 2 cream puff, 1 cream puff with cream (Sahne) just plain. The other one is with Egg Liqueur und Sour cherry and vanilla ice cream. We will love to visit this place again and try more different kind of cream puff.

For many many years now we always make a stop here when we are in Bayern to eat a "windbeutel". The place is nicely situated outside Ruhpolding. Beware! The payment system is still from medieval times! 🙄 They accept only cash! Digital card or credit card cannot be used! 😳

The garlic soup is one of the best things I've ever eaten.

We were 4 adults and 2 kids. We ordered 1 pizza, 1 small pommes, 1 big vegetarian salad, 1 big salad with turkey meat, and 2 Balkanteller. All we can say that the foods were in big portion, the taste was ok. But it took us almost 1 hour to wait for the foods while the place was not that super full. It would be great if they could tell us that we would wait for 30-40 or 50 mins for the foods! Tips: If you have kids and they are hungry, it’d better to ask how long you would wait for the foods ;)

Food arrived very fast. It was fresh and enough choice in the menu. The beers are cold served and the waiters understand English. Very cosy restaurant with nice interior.

Remember to bring cash, they don't take card. Other than that, what a perfect restaurant! It's in such an adorable environment in the alps. The food was delicious and the staff is friendly. Got a free snack before the real food was served, and a free drink after the food. 5/5

The food was good. We've been charged 8 euros for a salad that we thought it's on the food as we didn't order. When we complained the waiter told us you shouldn't have eaten the salad! And then she said she's sorry because she made a mistake but we had to pay anyways. Not very pleasant.

If you wanna spoil your birthday, than it it the place. No complains to food, it was tasty but the service leaves huge space to be improves. It is indeed not funny trying to catch the waiter, which pretends blind, to order something. It took hours to prepare the dishes and you are not even “pro forma” told something or just making apologies for being late. Well probably the profit of the place comes from quantity of tourists rather than quality.

Food is reasonably good and a decent price. The main course was good, beer was good. Apple strudel was average. My wife ordered the banana boat desert and the ice cream never melted. Waitress was nice and did a good job. Food came out very quickly once ordered. Some items seem preprepared.

Mixed experience here. The veg pizza was very ordinary but the mushroom sauce and patties were very good. The big issue here is that they only accept cash!! I think it's good as an attachment to the swim area to come out and eat here. By itself, I would not exclusively seek it out. The good part is that it was open late afternoon. Service was fine too. I recently (yesterday) dined at Restaurant “Die Welle “and have mixed feelings about my experience. On one hand, the food was truly exceptional. The welcome at Reception is warm and genuine. Every member of the Ruhpoldinger Hof team was very helpful. Thank you Anja for being so patient when I speak German! The hotel offers bed and inclusive breakfast. Evening meals can be taken from the À la Carte menu. Rooms are very nicely decorated, exceptionally clean and very comfortable. I slept very well here. The breakfast offering is fantastic. Lots of nice touches like fresh pastries and Bircher Muesli, eggs, pancakes and a very wide choice of bread. Excellent! Dinner is a great experience too. Very enjoyable seasonal dishes, in addition to the regular menu. This place has good vegetarian options too. Please note that Tuesday is “Ruhetag”. At both breakfast and dinner, staff are friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. The hotel has a fabulous wellness area, including a small, but very adequate swimming pool, steam bath, herbal sauna and Finnish sauna. All are immaculate and maintained to the highest standard. The area is great for hiking. You don’t have to limit yourself to Ruhpolding, The free bus can take you to the start of plenty of walks, with a choice of strenuous summits or more gentle valley hikes. I really enjoyed my stay at the Ruhpoldinger Hof, and I can’t wait to return!

Nice and quick service in the beer garden in the afternoon for good price so decided to test it for dinner also. Good atmosphere inside and quick service. Really good desert and was possible to get a small cognac to it.

Rooms were fine, size was sufficient, bathroom was good, bed was acceptable but unfortunately we still couldn't get any sleep because of one easily resolveable issue which was the pillows, they felt like a pillow cover filled with rolled up socks and as such both my wife and I could not sleep at all. 3 stars Service was very friendly and helpful at the reception and in the breakfast room(good breakfast), the evening staff in the restaurant and bar were not very friendly, we were ignored at the bar for 15 minutes as the staff came in and out to get drinks for other guests and when we finally decided we to go somewhere else the waitress then arrived and was just simply rude to us for not being more patient. 3 stars Hotel pool and wellness was nice, pool opens at 07:30, which we enjoyed, sauna unfortunately didn't open until 16:00, which isn't ideal for everyone but we enjoyed it nevertheless. 4 stars Location was great, Ruhpolding is really nice little town, offering convenient access to a lot of outdoor activities and as a hotel guest you will receive the Chiemgau karte which allows you free use of the skilifts, the local Vital Alpina Adventure & wellness pool for 3 hours (does not include the sauna area) and other benefits. 5 stars

We have been happy to find this restaurant, with an excellent service from the waiter, with nice atmosphere, and good food as well. We have pork chop, cordon bleu and beef. Pork chop was very tasty and the rest of the food was ok. If we will have another opportunity we'll be back.

I think.the timing was perfect here as we had a quick walk around the golf club after s really good feed at this restaurant. Was like stepping back in time. With the locals in regional dress. Would highly recommend this place to.anyons that loves long walks, golf with a reward at the end if a top quality meal with some very nice beer

Further to my below review and the owners reply. As any would be future guest will see the owners replies are very inaccurate. They are suggesting we damaged 16 bed sheets in 8 days 😂😂. Yes we had a sofa bed, but our children hardly slept in it as it was like sleeping on a stone slab! As you will also notice from their other replies to negative comments it’s always the customers fault and they are always in the right. It’s always they use the best etc, this certainly isn’t true, the rooms are a basic level comfort, which is fine but let’s not pretend things are ‘high end’ they are nowhere near the standard when comparing the rooms to similar Dubai, London, New York etc. All I can conclude with is…. If you want to wash while you are on holiday or sleep in a bed avoid the Zur Post or be prepared for a fine!!

Went for my dad’s birthday back in February and we were treated so well, the owners made a really nice gesture for my dad on his birthday. 100% recommend the Hotels restaurant and the bar! We had a stop-over for three nights at Hotel Zur Post and enjoyed our stay! The hotel is nice and the staffs are very friendly. Rooms are clean. Parking is free next to the hotel. Very central located in the middle of Ruhpolding within walking distance from Restaurants, cafés etc. The hotel even had a small surprise for our daughter's birthday during our stay.

My husband and I checked into the hotel and received the most unwelcome experience from reception, it was surreal. The lady who received us at the Front Desk was rude and completely ignored me, granted I am not a proper Deutsch speaker, still when I addressed her, I expect her to at least acknowledge me. Hello! We visited a wonderful restaurant, old bavarian style, nice calm and cozy atmosphere. Traditional cuisine. The staff spoke English, not fluently, but enough to understand. We received our order on time. We are thankful that we belonged to ourselves during the treat. it's great to be in a restaurant but it's like being at home. We ordered fish soup and trout. it was wonderful. Thanks to the young staff for the reception.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Fischerwirt! My family of 4 met were joined by Oma and Papa and this Gasthof was the perfect start to our journey. It was away from the hustle and bustle of Ruhpolding but close enough for those wishing to do some shopping or wandering. The running/walking/biking trails link the entire area and the hiking around there is really wonderful! Breakfast was fantastic; a typical bavarian breakfast spread with nice additions that made everyone happy! My two young boys devoured the leberkase. Papa loved the scrambled eggs. Dinner was also fantastic. We enjoyed sitting on the patio outside with fantastic mountain views while sipping Hofbrauhaus Traunstein bier. The food was great, especially the kinder schnitzel for the boys. We ate two meals there and were so happy, we probably should have just stayed for the third night! The playground is such a nice touch. The boys could expend some of their youthful energy! The open grass space was also super nice and the boys enjoyed kicking the fussball all over! It was so wonderful to be able to sit and relax knowing our boys were having fun, safe and not bothering anyone (especially us trying to enjoy a moment of silence)! It was a wonderful stay! Will definitely be back!

We had a great night tonight at pub holzstube, when we ordered we realised it was cash only so my partner had to walk 15 min to nearest atm, when Dirk the owner found out he drove to the town and collected him.. how kind! From start to finish our experience was amazing Daria the girl who served us was multilingual and extremely helpful and pleasant. The food was amazing and very reasonably priced. I think Jeanette was the chef, hats off to her.. we would highly recommend pub holstube, walking distance of 15 min from ruhpolding. 10 out of 10.. oh and dirk loves his music! My short stay here was lovely. The food was great, the pool is amazing. Our room was very spacious and clean with nice view. The hotel staff is very nice. The only thing missing was slippers in our wellness bag. I forgot to bring some, so was walking around pool and sauna with bare feet.
