Top beloved sightseeing place in Zell am See. Splendid! How wonderful is it to hiking on the top of mountain! We had great luck with nice weather and took the Panorama route to the top, it was nice and enjoyable tour that guarantee majority of visitors could have a great hike. Panoramic view down to the lake and village is absolutely gorgeous. Entry fee is a bit costly but it is worth after all.

It is one of the must visit mountains around Zell am See. We did paragliding here and it was awesome. You can look at the pictures to see a view. We visited in Summer time so it was nice view, but it can be great place to Skii as well. You need to take the ropeway to go up the hill, of course, you can walk, but can be tough.
Satheesh I — Google review
Amazing ski area with many slopes and lifts. The views are amazing. There is cool small wooden capple at the top

Enjoy it for free with Zell am see Kaprun Card, the views are Awesome from above, there is a lot of hiking waiting for you and maybe you will want to fly with barashot.

LOVE it!!!!!! The view is amazzzzzzzing and astonishing. It’s a nice view for Zell am see👌. There’s place for hiking and restaurants.

Nice mountain, excellent skiing area, place to enjoy, little bit crowdy

A wonderful place to walk and explore. The map marker is in the wrong place but guess it won't affect too many using a car satnav but it is confusing for walkers.
Chalet L — Google review
Avoid this ski area in February if you're a good skier. Too crowded ski slopes with too many begginers. Better to skip this place and rather to ski in Saalbach area

Bodies of Water
Nestled in the Austrian Alps, Lake Zell is a picturesque alpine lake that offers a myriad of activities throughout the year. In the summer, visitors can enjoy boating, paddling, and swimming in its pristine waters. The surrounding area also hosts seminars and provides opportunities for various water sports such as sailing, canoeing, windsurfing, and stand-up paddleboarding. As winter sets in, the lake transforms into a hub for ice sports.
One of the most beautiful lakes I have ever seen. Wonderful views with the Alps in the background. Great place to swim, boat or just walk around and enjoy yourself.
Vít H — Google review
A Serene Escape to Zell am See Lake My visit to Zell am See Lake was nothing short of magical. Nestled in the heart of the Austrian Alps, the lake offered stunning views in every direction—crystal-clear waters framed by snow-capped peaks and lush greenery. Whether you’re into scenic walks, boat rides, or just soaking in the tranquility, this place has something for everyone. The promenade around the lake was perfect for a leisurely stroll, and I especially loved stopping at the small cafes that offered delicious local pastries and coffee with unbeatable lake views. The water was so clear that you could see the reflections of the mountains dancing on the surface—truly postcard perfect. I also took a boat cruise which was a peaceful way to admire the surroundings from a different perspective. Zell am See town itself was charming, with its alpine architecture, cozy restaurants, and friendly locals. If you’re looking for a destination that combines natural beauty with a peaceful atmosphere, Zell am See Lake is a must-visit. I left feeling relaxed, refreshed, and already planning my return.
Shanz S — Google review
It is one of the most beautiful lakes I have seen. The place is really quiet and clean. You can enjoy having a picnic there. You can also swim in the lake or ride your bike by the lake. I also saw a lot of boats with many people on them so I guess you can book a ride. There were also small boats that you can rent for a specific amount of time private with your family. As for the town, it was a nice small cozy town, you can walk around and see the colourful small houses. Bus stations were close and you could reach them on foot. So whether you are a biker, a family or a couple, you can enjoy the place there on a sunny day 🙌

Ilona — Google review
The lake is simply breathtaking, surrounded by mountains and offering clear, calm waters perfect for a walk, a boat ride, or even swimming in the summer. The promenade is very clean and well-maintained, with plenty of benches to relax and enjoy the view. Watching the sunset over the lake was one of the highlights of my trip to Zell am See. Truly a peaceful and unforgettable place.

Lake Zell am See is absolutely stunning! Crystal-clear water, surrounded by snow-capped mountains,it feels like a dream. Perfect for walking, swimming, or just relaxing by the shore. One of the most beautiful lakes in Austria!
MOHD-57 — Google review
Beautiful lake for swimming, boating and paddleboarding. The views are beautiful in all directions. Even though there are plenty of boats on the lake, it's easy to find a quiet spot for a swim. Highly recommend getting a pedalo to explore the lake

Museum Vogtturm, also known as the Zell am See Local History Museum, is housed in the historic Vogt tower, which dates back over 1,000 years. Recently renovated, this museum offers a captivating journey through the history of Zell am See with interactive displays and informative exhibits. The temporary Porsche Design exhibition adds an extra layer of interest to the experience.
Cute, newly renovated museum which holds an informative experience on the history behind Zell Am See. Loved the Porsche exhibition as well. Meeting Erica made the experience very personal considering she is a local and loved her bubbly personality. Highly recommend! ☺️
Kam H — Google review
A nice small and cozy museum. I liked the Porsche section and the interactive fishing game! The lady who checked us in was very sweet and kind to us. Lovely conversation. It’s 4 floors. You can spend maximum 1.5 hrs there.
Sara — Google review
Really good interactive museum The special exhibition on Porsche was interesting Loved the fishing game too
Sandy S — Google review
It’s free with the Summercard. While we didn’t find it particularly enjoyable, many others seemed to like it. It’s located in the center of Zell am See, so if you're staying nearby or happen to pass by, it’s worth a quick visit using the Summercard. It won’t take more than 20 minutes. However, it’s not worth paying for this visit.
Mariana A — Google review
Amazing museum and very helpful staff! Almost every exhibit in English, lots of multimedia and you learn everything about Zell am See (like that first snowboards ever were produced here, or about Porsche Design Studio). Well worth a visit!
Borys V — Google review
Small but worth visiting museum with multimedia exposition on Zell am Zee history and Porsche Design products. Ca. 1h visit, closed on Mondays.
Kuba B — Google review
Superb museum in the centre of Zell am See. Staff super friendly and offered a good introduction to the museum personally in English. The museum looks like it has been recently renovated with lots of interactive displays giving the history of the town up to the present day. The temporary Porsche Design exhibition was also excellent. Admission was included in our Sommerpass issued by the hotel but well worth the admission price otherwise.

Museum
The Kaprun Museum is situated amidst expansive green meadows and significant historical sites. Covering around 140 square meters across three floors, it showcases ancient artifacts dating back to 1600, along with models, paintings, and geological monuments of the city. Housed in a 400-year-old country estate within the Kreichpel region, the museum offers insights into the city's history through the ages.
Lovely historic building and so interesting to learn more about the construction of the dams above Kaprun and the development of ski tourism locally
Suem H — Google review
It's a nice little museum if you are interested in history. But with impatient children you are out in 15 minutes. It is quite a climb from the main street to the church. Park near the cable car station.

Sigmund Thun Gorge is a seasonal attraction known for its iconic waterfall, which can be observed from wooden steps. Families can embark on an unforgettable adventure through the 320-meter deep gorge, where the Kaprun Flood has left its mark on the rocky river banks. The rushing waters create a rainforest-like atmosphere, offering a refreshing experience.
Really enjoyed our trip here. Very well done, recently built and good facilities. Wasn’t busy when we went so ample opportunity for photos. Can even pop into the power station to see what goes on in there. Not too expensive either considering how much work has been put into it.
Bunch690 — Google review
Depending on the time of day you can book tickets so you enter faster, it's usually more crowded in the morning. Plenty of parking spots available (4 parking areas). Be sure not to miss the panorama after visiting the gorge. When you exit, go left, follow the green trail and after a couple of meters follow the sign to Burgkogel on the left - 5 min hike and then you reach a great observation point above the lake. If you follow the trail further you get to the parking areas.
Bogdan Z — Google review
The trip through the gorge is quite short, so I recommend taking your time to explore it, stopping along the way to take photos and admire the view. Bring a rainjacket with you because it’s going to be pretty wet. It’s definitely worth visiting
Silvia — Google review
What we did accidentally: Drove by all the parking spaces got to the top of the gorge, found enough parking space there, hiked 20 minutes down to the entrance of the gorge, admired what nature provides. Then I recommend to take a bath in the ice cold Ache river at the end, head back to your car, be mentaly enriched and soulfully refreshed! What a wonderful time we had!
Patrick B — Google review
Visiting Sigmund Thun Klamm was one of the highlights of our trip to Kaprun. The gorge is absolutely stunning, with crystal-clear turquoise water rushing through dramatic rock formations and wooden walkways that let you experience the power of nature up close. The paths are well maintained and safe, making it enjoyable for families, couples, or solo travelers. The walk isn’t too long, but every step offers something new—towering cliffs, refreshing waterfalls, and peaceful forest surroundings at the top. It’s the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation. I especially loved the sound of the water echoing through the gorge—it felt both powerful and calming at the same time. It’s an easy activity to fit into your day in Kaprun, and the scenery makes it unforgettable. I’d highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area—it’s a natural wonder you shouldn’t miss!
Said A — Google review
Nice, well maintained gorge and walking path. Yes there are stairs but they are spread out so it’s a pretty easy walk. The gorge itself is beautiful and at the top is a lake. FYI, the driving directions didn’t take us to the parking area- so just keep driving up the road and you will see signs for the lots.
Sara S — Google review
Very accessible and relativly short circular trail around the Klamm waterfalls. We took around one hour to complete the entire 6km route while enjoying the scenery. The first part is made of wooden platforms and stairs, and then the trail becomes as flat as it gets. It's perfect for a quick visit or a relaxing day trip. There are many benches and places to rest along the trail, as well as photo corners.
Marta S — Google review
We went here with our Sommerkarte for free and what surprised us, that there was no queue at all. It was windy and all the water from the small and big waterfalls felt like a breeze in the sea 😅 To be honest it felt good. You need to be careful to not slip on the pathways because there is a lot of water here. But it was a great experience and we loved it a lot. I think that’s the second best thing in the town of Kaprun , the first is Kitzsteinhorn ))

Alpine Coaster Kaprun is a family-friendly mountain resort offering year-round entertainment, including the Maisiflitzer Alpine Coaster. This thrilling 1.3 km track allows riders to reach speeds of up to 40 km/h as they race down towards the valley, encountering bridges, waves, jumps, and banked loops along the way. The coaster provides an adrenaline rush for both kids and adults.
It is very nice. I recommend on doing part of the trip by foot and go back with the carts. The self drive carts are short but nice experience for the kids!
Adi D — Google review
The track feels very repetitive, with the same style and a series of similar turns. I find it extremely overpriced, and I don’t think it’s fair that the fee is charged per person rather than per sled
Péter S — Google review
Its an amazing experience i highly recommend if you have summer card its not included you have to pay 15 euros for adults
Najiba A — Google review
Beautiful experience in Katrina and Zell am see Different experience for children
SEFIAN A — Google review
Maisi Flitzer is an exciting alpine coaster in Kaprun that’s fun for both kids and adults. The ride takes you down the mountain on a twisting track with beautiful views all around. You can control your own speed, so it’s as thrilling or relaxing as you want it to be. It’s safe, well-organized, and a fantastic activity to add some adrenaline to your trip. Great for families or groups of friends.
Our_discoveries5 — Google review
Very cool and great fun The very big downside is that distances between cars are not controlled and dependant on the rider, but with kids this can be a big risk They automatically take a photo of you during the ride and then u can get it printed out for 6 Euro. The picture has your speed as well :) There are some slides next to it which are fun but too expensive to be for a 1 Euro each time
Majed E — Google review
One of the best activities in Kaprun. We went through the cables cars to the top of the mountain. Amazing views over there. Included in the Kaprun Zell am See Summer Card.
Seraj A — Google review
Good fun, if you’re looking for something else to do besides skiing. It is however a little expensive for the time that it takes to get up and down….the trip up actually taking longer than the trip down. Can imagine that’s a great option in summer when there is no snow.

Nestled in the picturesque region, Tauern Spa Therme offers a glimpse into the area's rich history through visits to museums like Kaprun Museum and National Park Gallery. Explore the 4000 years of village history and delve into the world of glaciers at Kitzsteinhorn. For an adventure, take a guided tour of the high mountain reservoirs in Kaprun. The resort provides top-notch service with friendly staff and breathtaking views of snow-covered mountains.
This must be my favourite hotel of all time. The staff was very welcoming, even though we arrived very late. Well, after check-in, we were warmly welcomed. Rooms were spotless, made with attention, and we had a couple of little gifts on our bed waiting for us, everything to make us feel like our stay was important, and attention to detail was very well considered. The next morning, we were welcomed to a delicious breakfast with a variety. I have never seen such a large selection of local products before. Again, attention to detail was thought after here as well. The infinity pool and spa area provided an even more relaxing experience. If we had more time, we would’ve loved to stay longer; however, we will be doing a detour to return to enjoy this beautiful place again. And finally at checkout, the staff was very warm and welcoming, providing us with a comfortable feeling.
Driving R — Google review
We visited the spa as day guests, not as hotel residents. Overall we were satisfied with the facilities. Everything was spotlessly clean, the equipment was modern, and the whole place had an elegant feel. The reason for my 4-star rating is that only after entering did we learn that the Gletscherblick pool, the beautiful glass-walled panoramic pool at the very top of the spa, is reserved exclusively for hotel guests. That entire floor was off limits to us, which was disappointing. As day visitors, we had access to only three indoor and three outdoor pools for 33 euros per person, and this ticket was valid for only three hours without sauna access. The two restaurants on site did not appeal to our taste. They seemed more on the luxury side, which might be perfect for some visitors but was not what we were looking for. The indoor pools were fairly standard, with water temperatures around 30°C, one lazy river, and several massage jets. There is also a separate children's area, which we did not visit. The outdoor pools offer a nice mountain view even from the lower level, with two regular pools and one lap pool. The changing rooms, showers, and restrooms were exceptionally clean and clearly well maintained, which was a big plus.
Aszi Á — Google review
Great place to spend around 2-3 hours as a Tourist. It takes around 1 1/2 hours to get here from Salzburg. Pools were well heated. But not everything is as advertised in the website or in GetYourGuide/Klook, some parts of it are exclusively reserved for the Hotel Guests, if you’re staying here it would definitely be worth it. Bring your own towels to save money. But definitely worth it to spend around half a day leisurely. Try to be here around 4 and leave around 8’ish, that way you experience the Pools both in light and in the night. Wonderful Mountain views before it gets dark.
Chandramouli P — Google review
Nice and well kept. Good place but value for money is not so good. Gastein Therme is much cheaper and the solarium is included. At Tauern Spa the cost is 20% higher and solarium is not included.
Dave R — Google review
We had an amazing day at the SPA with our family (3 kids: 14yrs, 13yrs and 10yrs). We booked tickets in advance and when we arrived there was a sign that they are full and no additional people (who have not booked tickets in advance) were allowed. That was really good as therefore the place was not too packed. We had some tasty dinner and enjoyed the saunas and pools. The place has a nice size, not too big but big enough to spend a few hours.
Benjamin R — Google review
Excellent location for a relaxing evening after ski. Prices are more than affordable regarding to offer. 26€ adult and 13€ kids for 3h or after 18:00 🕕. 3 adults indoor pools, one kids indoor pool and 2 outdoor warm pools.
Cata — Google review
Very very good resort. The top first resort I've ever been to. All the employees were very kind. Always smile and serve well in the restaurant. This resort provides electric bikes, and it was powerfully enjoyed. The scenery was breathtaking. I can see the mountain covered with ice. Also, the private spa for the residents was an infinity view. Public spas are also extensive and beautiful. This resort also has saunas. Well, Am See was very close. All the Kaprun places were close too. During the summer season, Tauern Spa provides transport tickets. If you want to go from Zell Am See station, you need to take a bus. Overall, I will visit here again, and I wish to have a good memory.

The MK Maiskogelbahn Talstation serves as a convenient gateway to the Alpine Centre, offering easy access from both the Kitzsteinhorn Valley Station and the Kaprun Centre via the 3K K-onnection. As you arrive, you'll be greeted by the refreshing mountain air, setting the stage for an array of invigorating activities.
Great experience. Friendly staff, "hallo" and "good mornings" everywhere. Plenty parking available (free). Tickets are free for summer card holders, unlimited use. The bahn feels brand new, and the quality is reassuring. Pity the brand new 3K-Connection was closed until December (visited in October), but still the views were amazing. Plenty hiking trails available as well. Memorable experience!
Maarten V — Google review
The old crone at the ticket desk for some reason didn’t want to sell us lift tickets past the first lift even though several lifts were open and everyone else had tickets further on. Wasted 60 minutes riding up the first lift, only to find out she sold us the wrong tickets, then going back down (where she proceeded to laugh at us and argue more about going to further lifts), and finally back up on correct ticket. Rude and extremely unhelpful service
Ariane A — Google review
Pretty good scenary from the cablecars and free parking but the lack of information made us lose a hiking day. We took the first cablecar just to find out the second one, leading to the Alpine Center, was closed for revision works. So, we had to go back down and then find another cablecar station...

Everything seems very reliable and well-maintained, and the facility is clean and well-organized. It was particularly pleasant that it wasn't overcrowded at this time of year, and there were no waiting times at all. The staff at the entrance were VERY rude and not patient, which ruined some of the fun for us. Pools are nice, both indoor and outdoor. The kids (5 & 6) loved the circle pool, the big slide is long but slow - nice for small kids.

Zero information about sauna charge (17 EUR for entrance!) Roof pool only for hotel guests, ads are therefore misleading. Outside pool is the only plus, but apart from that very poor interior, no jaccuzies and a general lack of space

Very nice and quiet place. You have to walk around 15 min to reach after the cable car station. Mostly, the cafe will be closed. However, you will enjoy the plcae and the spectacular view of Zell am See Lake. Don’t miss it!

A beautiful, quiet place to swim and relax on a warm, sunny day. High above Zell am See there are incredible views of the Pinzgau valley and Zeller Lake. Play equipment for children, seating and toilets make it a comfortable place to go. It is a short walk on footpath 53 or 55 from the Gasthof Mittlestation (at the top of CityXpress lift). About a 1-1.5 hours walk up from Zell am See on marked footpaths, much quicker going down! There is a winterwanderweg no. 27 around it, too.

Seating available to take in the excellent all round views. Not too far to walk from the city express cablecar. Restful & peaceful watching & listening to the birds around.

We know it is an artificial reservoir for snow-guns to make ski-slopes. Hovewer it is a beautiful mountain lake with a picturesque view. There are visible highest mountain peaks. Among them there is a highest one named "Grossvenediger". From another side yuo can to observe a panoramic view on a lake " Zell-am-see". Those people names lakes with a word "see" which literally means "sea".

U can visit this wonderful place from two lines of cable car, one is included fully in zell am see and kaprun card, the other is partially included (u have to pay for the interim 3K line) the place is wonderfull, the cable car is pretty fast, about 25-30 minutes to elrwach the place, when u reach the intermediate station it is recommended to step and take photos of the wonderful scenery out there, when u each the last station u will step into an elevator to reach the 3029 peak and the nice restaurent there.

Amazing views well worth the time and effort. If you are in the area for a while DO NOT pay the day rate for the cable car it is much better to get a summerland card as the cable car is included in that ticket along with loads of other stuff. So if you are in the area for a a couple of days do the sums! Take free the tour at 1PM as well the guide was great. If you are English and using translate be sure to download the languages as you will lose signal on the tour. Oh and don't be so lazy WALK up from 4 to to the top don't take the funicular to lazy get!

Embark on a nostalgic journey through the picturesque Pinzgau Mountains with the Pinzgauer Lokalbahn, a narrow-track steam train established in 1898. This historic railway offers enchanting trips along a broad valley, providing stunning views and culminating at the breathtaking Krimml waterfalls. The train runs on Wednesdays and Thursdays, taking approximately three hours one way. Passengers can even experience the full force of the steam locomotive from the balcony behind it.
We had an amazing time on this wonderful train. The trip through the countryside is absolutely breathtaking, the scenery is amazing and constantly changes as the journey goes on. The train staff were fantastic, our reserved seats were clearly marked and really easy to find. A variety of food and drinks was available on both outward and return trips at a very reasonable cost. We had a wonderful time and thoroughly recommend a trip if you arein the area!

Narrow gauge railway Zell am See to Krimml. Catch the steam train that runs on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Takes around three hours one way. Line runs along a broad valley with good views ending at the Krimml waterfalls. On the way back travel on the balcony immediately behind the steam loco and get the full blast from the loco working hard blowing its whistle. Be prepared for a face full steam and smoke. Great! a must do for all steam fans.

A relaxing place for a drink on the "less touristic" side of Zeller See. September being off-season, the terrace was almost empty. Great view towards the mountains and Zell am See, but the burger wins no awards.
Oplan S — Google review
I came to this restaurant in order to eat a good burger. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. First thing is that the menu didn’t contain most of the dishes that were uploaded in the online menu. I ordered the cheeseburger with fries. What I received was a supermarket burned bun, meat without any taste, nearly burned as well. The vegetables were ok, but about the “sauce”… it was basically just ketchup. Fries from supermarket as well, the fat was pouring out of them. The dish was suppose to be served with dip, and well, it was. With ketchup and mayo. The taste in general wasn’t so terrible but the burger definitely wasn’t worth the price. The service was kind, but seemed to be shy I really liked the views tho, which we couldn’t admire, because we got a seat in the corner.

I do not recommend visiting this place because the waiter's behavior was very bad and when I told him I wanted to speak to the manager, he said he was the manager and suddenly got angry and we were expelled from the place. I hope that a waiter is chosen who is good at dealing with customers and is respectful and treats visitors well because we come here with our own money, I do not eat or drink at his own expense. Thank you.
Abe A — Google review
One waitress. Served locals first. We were biking by and wanted a beer and a view! For that it was perfect. Had to wait forever for her to return for a food order and then had to wait again for our bill. WC not well maintained.
Jennifer K — Google review
Despite only having a few chain smoking guest, the 3 girls serving couldnt keep up with orders and seemed thouroghly uninterested in making any kind of good impression. They then proceeded to totally mess up most of our simple orders; a cheeseburger became a chicken burger. Drink orders were neglected or forgotten. Food was sub standard, containing of a dry chicken burger and a wet and sticky ceasar sallad. Only recommended if you are a chain smoking old timer who demands nothing more than a cup of coffee and place with a great lake side view to cough up your lungs.

Located in the picturesque Zell am See-Kaprun region of SalzburgerLand, Casino Zell am See offers an exciting opportunity to try your luck with a variety of games including slot machines and roulette. The casino provides a modern and pleasant atmosphere, with friendly croupiers who create an enjoyable experience for visitors. While it may be small in size, it has everything you need for a fun evening out.
Small casino but it has everything you need. The croupiers did a good job and often cracked a joke. Minimum amount to play with is €30, you get them in gold coins and you have to play them. Gold coins can't be changed to your own money again. The start amount on the tables was max. €5 but at some tables it was also possible to play with €2,50. Casino had a real pleasant atmosphere and looked modern, would definitely visit this place again even though I lost all the money I started with.
Laurens H — Google review
The games have an awful house edge/RTP. The blackjack pays 6:5 which is close to 2% edge while a normal one should be around 0.72%. Roulette has double 0's which means the edge is 5.4% and is doubled compared to the 2.7% standart. I have no idea what would it be for slots, but I woukd say way worse than both of the games combined. If your still going there, just remember the odds are bad and to not bet a lot, just enjoy your time. Drinks are expensive as well as super basic.
Wildmonkey — Google review
This is a very small casino. The slots are decent, but the vibe just isn’t there. They also allow their last guest in at 1 am, when it shuts at 2 am, which I personally find annoying. I didn’t see anyone win anything big while I was there, and I certainly didn’t myself. It can be fun, but definitely not a casino I would go around recommending.

Most rigged casino ever. On black jack everytime a certain person is dealing the cards they manage to hit 6 times in a row 20s and 21s ontop of it. Also depending of the time u play on the table and depending how many people there are they will also bit 20s and 21s. If the casino is full they will give the wins more often to keep people in if the casino is empty they will just eat whatever they can. I know this because everytime there was a certain woman sitting on it I started avoiding her and started sitting when I saw a certain man there and surprise surprise me won everytime with the man but everytime I tried with the woman to give the benefit of the doubt boom loss. Avoid it

Very nice golf course, restaurant is great and the service is quick. Range pretty small and insufficient for tournaments with over 50 players, and also and foremost slightly dangerous: there is a line of carpets few meters right behind (!!) the grass range line, with maybe maximum 4-5m space between those two. No problem for right handed players. However, if a left handed shanks it’s iron, there can be some devastating personal damages (a ball flew only a few cm from my head)..!!!

2 great 18 holes golf courses in between the mountains. Schmittenhöhe fairways are quite narrow, making it a compact course, where it is easy to hit a ball on an adjacent fairway. I only went to the restaurant the view is nice but the service is so bad we waited for so long to get the menu and when we were ready to order we waited around 15 min just to order and the food took a longer time than that to arrive, so really the entire experience about waiting, I felt like we got served differently to other people and it made me feel like i am not welcome here.

Ski resort
Schmittenhöhebahn is a popular resort area offering varied hiking and ski trails with stunning mountain and lake views. The legendary Schmittenhohebahn can be reached from the lakeside in just a few minutes, taking visitors uphill to Zell's local mountain, the Schmittenhöhe, in modern Porsche Design gondolas. Visitors have praised the organized process and friendly staff of the cable car experience despite challenging weather conditions.
I visited this in winter and the view from the cable car was jaw dropping and also you can rent a ski board and once you reach the top there is a restaurant and a panoramic platform. Also there is a muesem at the top where they still have the pen which the maker of the cable car signed the contract with. The also have a 3d model of the whole mountain. Also there are telescopes on the top which even tell the height and the name of the mountain you are looking at and there is also a buffet at the top which is very cheap. Also at the top you can take astonishing picture of The ALPS mountains. Also you have to buy a ticket and also there was no waiting time.Overall it is probably the best thing to in Zell Am See
Muhammad A — Google review
Stunning scenery. I'd recommend the left cable car as the big one was crammed. A few walking routes at the top, but the views are amazing.
John L — Google review
There'r a lot of trail along this area the one at peak is the easiest, anyway you can choose anywhere to start. I took cable car to reach peak n walk along panorama trail. It took 30min from schmitenhöhebahn to reach sonnkogelbah
Ida Z — Google review
The views are incredible. That’s about where my liking for the Schmittenhohebahn ends. We hiked to the top, and once we arrived, the service at the restaurant was SO slow. They seemed severely understaffed, and clueless about how to accommodate for lots of tables. The cable car itself is expensive, especially for those who hiked all the way up the mountain. At other places, the one-way ride down is usually quite cheap, but unfortunately that was not our experience.
Dana H — Google review
3 lifts(seilbahn/felvonó, talstationen/völgyállomás). There are more sections for parking with car, and the public transport stop is right before the entrance of the station. I added a picture about that one lift that has been missed here. The silver/black gondola takes you up to the Schmittenhöhe (2000m). Good luck on your next adventure!

While in Innsbruck, you must go to the Schmitten peak. There are mesmerizing views. Get your tickets at Kongressstad and enter the spaceship like station. There are 3 train/cable cars to take you to the peak. Watch for grazing cows ringing their bells and sheeps on the slopes.

Very disappointing experience at Haus Ditzer – Villa Theresia. Upon arrival, the property owner forced me to pay €420 in cash, despite my booking confirmation clearly stating the child policy (adult rates only for 18+ years). My children are 5 and 10 years old, yet I was unfairly charged as if they were adults. Worse, the owner refused to provide any receipt for the cash payment, which is highly unprofessional and suspicious. I immediately reported this issue to Booking.com on 9 August 2025, but until today I have received no proper response or resolution. This shows not only the property’s dishonesty but also Booking.com’s lack of support for loyal customers (I am Genius Level 3). I strongly advise other travelers to avoid this property and to be cautious when booking, as you might face the same unfair treatment.

We were on holidays in Alto Adige. First time ⛷ was at Klausberg (in Valle Aurina) what is included in the price for the skipass you have to buy to be allowed to go there and Speikboden Ski Arena. Klausberg Klausberg has a few advantages especially for families with children between 4 and 8. For example, there are much more blue slopes and draw paths at Klausberg than at Speikboden. Another point: there are almost life-size dinosaurs that stand on the slopes and look very scary. Finally, at our time - mid-April, end of season - more huts (Almhütten, restaurants next to the slope - are open than in Speikboden. All points that speak for Klausberg. And felt every morning in the ski bus - ask your hotel for the ticket for it - more families and children went to Klausberg than to Speikboden, where we were all the time with #Bigfoot and #Littlefeet, except for the first day of our one-week vacation. The slopes were super groomed and although the parking lot was full at the valley station in front of the gondola, we got a free parking space. #Bigfoot and Littlefeet were really hot for skiing. And the Talabfshrt was long, also peppered with small breaks, because about many ski courses were on the way. For the first day, the Klausberg has already given us a lot of fun. We can only recommend the Arena ski area - especially for families.

The setting is picturesque, surrounded by stunning architecture and lively local culture at Brunnen am Stadtplatz. For those exploring the lake on rented boats or pedalos, timing your trip to coincide with the fountain display adds an extra layer of enjoyment.
A fun fountain show! It runs for about 7-8 minutes in the daylight during the afternoons. There's a longer show on certain evenings during the summer with colourful lights. If you're on a pedalo or hiring a boat in Zell am See, it's worth timing a trip around the lake to see the fountains

A must-see performance in Zell am See! I never imagined a fountain show could be this beautiful. We watched the rock symphony show — a truly unique experience. Make sure to arrive early to get a good spot, as it gets very crowded.

It's not my first time to visit this place, but in summer, this is my first time, Got a chance to ride an electrical boat (rented for 28 euro) 30 min self drive eboat till 5 pm, and the dancing fountain was nice too. I was lucky to reach on time of start

Zell am See in Austria is the best destination I have ever visited. Its beauty and charm is captivating and there is so much to explore there, the Zell lake boat cruise, the evening light show, the hydro dam, smaller pleasure boats and the cable car 🚠 There are ample shops both gift and boutiques, plenty of choices to eat, and the people are charming. There is a main train station in the centre and everything is in walking distance. We stayed at the Hotel Zum Hirschen which was excellent in every way. Don’t pass up the chance to go, but please treat the place with respect.

A must-see in Zell am See! The Magic Lake Show was a fantastic rock music performance, and we truly enjoyed every moment of it.

(Translated by Google) A pleasant place for a walk with children. The kids really enjoyed the ball pits. There is also a game with foxes and chickens and benches to sit with a view of the valley. Hiking area
We are staying at Camping Grubhof. Decided to go for a little walk/hike and stumbled across this totally by accident. Nobody there, beautiful, the water so clear. Defo a place to visit if in the area.
Anthony F — Google review
A lovely little waterfall about 2km away from Camping Grubhof, making it perfect for a short hike along the river if you’re staying there. There is a wooden staircase leading up the side of the waterfall from which you can do a loop back to the hiking trail.

Impressive small gorge with free entrance

Beautifully place. Must have been quite hard to make, is pretty steep with many stairs. I highly recommend

Hidden gem. Almost no tourists. Short walk through gorge (30min circular), lots of various size waterfalls, wooden stairs. Extremely narrow road for vehicles leading to parking spot for maximum 2 smaller cars at the start of trail.

(Translated by Google) If you happen to pass by anyway, it's a nice distraction, but otherwise, it's not worth going up the mountain just for it. I'd definitely cross it off your to-do list. The walking route isn't anything special, and you can see those few Kugelbahnen in just 5 minutes. (Original) Als je er toch langs loopt is het een leuke afleiding, maar verder totaal niet de moeite waard om er speciaal voor de berg op te gaan. Ik zou het lekker van de to-do lijst schrappen.
