Where to eat: the 6 best restaurants in Dufftown

We had a blast! I can really recommend the whisky & chocolate pairing. Rose made us feel like at home - played some board games, had some really good drinks and delicious tapas. We‘ll defineteley return next time we‘re in Dufftown. Lots of love from Germany!

We had a fantastic dinner at the seven stills. They have recently redecorated and they opened up just for our dinner group. The inside was beautifully decorated with a very homey vibe. The whisky selection is incredible and the food was excellent. Snails from France, incredible French onion soup and other great starters. The highlight was the beef bourguignon. This was the chefs family recipe and prepared/cooked for a week. Desserts were also great with the cheese plate (best bread ever) and crème brûlée. Highly recommend all to visit this great restaurant!

Really nice restaurant/whisky bar run by really nice people. A warm welcome on arrival and since I was flying solo i was offered the chance to sit at the bar which was ideal. The food was really amazing, huge portions and jam packed full of flavour. Patrick the chef took time to chat with all the customers and it was nice to hear his passion for food and using the best quality local ingredients and it certainly shows in his cooking. Patricks wife Rose runs the show front of house and does a grand job whipping up cocktails, serving food and taking time to have a wee chat on the fly. The whisky selection is huge so there's bound to be plenty of choice for even the fussiest connoisseur. If you're in the area do yourself a favour and book a table I doubt there's many better places to eat a meal within a couple of hundred miles.

Fantastic food. Did open for our group after reservation (normally closed on Friday). Very friendly Lady runs the pub. French husband in the kitchen: creative ideas! And a very long list of great Whisky's too. If you are in Dufftown a must visit!

Wonderful dinner! Felt like family by the time we left. Rosamond and Patrick were superb in customer service with history about Dufftown too. Beginning with our French Onion soup to ending with whiskey flambeed fruit cake EVERYTHING was a delight. The ambience and character of Seven Stills was authentically Highlands. We will be back with a group! Can't wait ❤🖒

There is something special in this restaurant and it is the owners, not everyday you are greeted by the chef Patrick (owner) asked for the food quality. His wife Rose, the kindest person is serving with smile and warmth. The food was exquisite, the whisky collection is impressive. It was like we were in Wonderland of food and drinks. You have to go there at least once!

This was a great experience! They have a wonderful garden where you can sit and enjoy your drink. It's a wonderful Scottish French kitchen. The chef gave us interesting experience through the menu we have chosen with a lot of passion. The dinner was fantastic. If you have time left, you can use their lounge to enjoy a coffee and whisky.

We had 2 takeaways from here in the 5 nights we stayed in Dufftown. The food was great, thoroughly recommend the butter chicken. We also had pizza as one of our party is not a fan of Indian - the pizza was great and exceeded our expectations. Would thoroughly recommend as the menu is extensive and there is something for everyone.

We got food for take away on our holiday from Spice of India. We were a large group with a big order and Spice of India did a wonderful job! The food was VERY good and even with our large order they didn’t forget any items. We would very much recommend Spice of India and we are very glad we ordered from there.

Now my favourite Indian restaurant in Moray, if not, the whole of the UK. Attentive, friendly staff, top quality food. Cannot recommend highly enough

Had a birthday meal here ...food was absolutely Amazing .. the flavours, the tendernes and presentation of the food just delightful.. service so good staff so friendly and welcoming would absolutely recommend a visit there.. I will go back with friends and family thank you so much for a wonderful meal out ...very happy

Outstanding takeaway from the Spice of India. Staying near Craigellachie and looking for a takeaway we found this place. Indian meals used to be a regular go-to, but we gave drifted away and rarely have one now. After this I think I need to reconsider. An award winning restaurant, we struggled to find an up-to-date menu, but got some information on their website. We went for a meal for 2 at a very reasonable £32.95. Unusually there were very few limitations on what you could order. We had a 20 minute wait and took our dogs for a short walk while waiting. I had a lamb nihari and my wife had a tiger chicken. They were both very good, very different. Her chicken was rich and sweet, while my lamb was tangy with a strong chili after taste. Both dishes were new to us and we were delighted with them both, though the nihari was too strong for my wife. We also got poppadoms, chicken tikka, the best pakora I've had in years, salad and a garlic naan. The biggest problem was eating it all, but we were in agreement that it was the best Indian food we have had in years, and that it's award- winning reputation is well deserved. I've no doubts at all about the 5 stars and will definitely be back when we are back to Craigellachie.

The food is good but not value for money. I know it’s tapas style but the portion is very small for the price. The hake was kinda bland if not for the dressing. The cauliflower was the best dish for us. I was seated at the table where I had a good view of the tower clock. However, the restaurant had that oily smell during service.

DELICIOUS ! The Capercaillie didn't disappoint. What a superb selection of mouth watering & well presented small plates. Each dish was flavoursome, well-executed & brought to us by a lovely friendly team. FIRST CLASS !

Amazing meal in the highlands! Also so awesome for gluten free, I am Celiac and most of the dishes were naturally GF, plus they had GF bread. The rest of my group were also blown away by the food. Absolutely recommend for a beautiful dinner in Dufftown!

First rate Scottish "tapas" menu...of very high quality backed up by attentive and very friendly service! Would highly recommend!

Really great food, full of interest flavours and generous portions considering it's marketed as small plates! 2 of our group of 6 were vegetarian but they had no problem choosing dishes to suit. Would recommend without hesitation and will definitely be back 👍🏻

What a find! Just loved our evening, thanks to the team for such a warm and friendly evening and such terrific food. Every dish was beautifully prepared and balanced, I just loved the beets and herbs, and the bavette steak was standout tender and perfectly pink. Oh, and what about the black pudding scotch egg? Wow, fantastic! As was our sticky toffee pudding. Great food and wine, great atmosphere and great value too. Feel very lucky to have found you!

This place is amazing. Scottish tapas, everything we ordered was top notch. Honestly one of the best meal in memory. Would come back here just for this place and the staff were lovely too.

Really good lunch spot! Fresh and really flavourful, and very reasonably priced! We had the jackfruit and salad wrap and the BLT toastie. Both were excellent! If you're in the area, this is a really refreshing lunch option! 100% recommend!!
