Spanish restaurant
Restaurante Casa Zaca is a traditional tavern in La Granja de San Ildefonso, Spain, known for its central Spanish cuisine featuring lamb chops and stews. The restaurant has been serving delicious meals since 1940 and is a popular choice for those seeking authentic regional dishes. With its old-fashioned charm and hearty menu offerings, Casa Zaca provides a delightful dining experience for visitors looking to savor the flavors of central Spain.
Very good and authentic traditional Spanish food. The interior of the restaurant is beautiful and the staff is very friendly. The food is amazing. Definitely recommended to go for the Judiones! Fantastic!

My friend took me to the "best restaurant in La Granja" and I believe it. We shared the pheasant salad and I can't give it too much praise. Our entrees were also excellent. Reservations recommended but they'll fit you in if they can.

Nice restaurant. The service is very good and friendly.prices are high.

Really pleasant place to go for dinner and really good for kids as well, their macarroni and meatballs were delicious!
Silvia P — Google review
The best dishes I had during my visit in Spain so far. It's packed with people though.
Nakama S — Google review
Fantastic traditional food. Must order the judiones (1 is good for 2 adults). Lamb stew was excellent. The best homemade french fries are served with every main course. Wine list very good. Every plate that went past our table looked so good! Copious meal. Great service. 5 star price/quality.
Edward R — Google review
I visited this place recently. This was my second time in a month, and we always sat at the terrace. I found the food to be very tasty and of great quality, with a great selection. However, I'm not giving it 5 stars because the waiters could be a bit more friendly, and this is something I experienced both times. If you're going during the summer, I recommend that you make a reservation in advance, specially if you want to eat outside since the terrace is quite small.

Restaurante El Hábito is a traditional Spanish restaurant located in La Granja de San Ildefonso. It offers a perfect atmosphere and great food, with friendly and sincere service from the staff. The menu features 35 different dishes and drinks to choose from, including their renowned artichokes with ham. You can feel the atmosphere of Segovia. It's cozy. I recommend Judiones con rabo de toro.

I came here with my family. Though we don't know Spanish, the waiter was really friendly and helpful. Food is amazing and fresh. Generous portion. Apple tart dessert is great.
Denise Y — Google review
Great bar/restaurant with a nice service! The food was good and I would highly recommend the tostada de solomillo and the patatas bravas! The quantity is good but not exaggerated and it is good value for money! The only thing missing was air conditioning in the bar area. They compensated with the sympathy of service!
Helio R — Google review
We came here for lunch and were absolutely delighted. We had the "Judiones" and "Carillada" for main courses, totally worth it. The service was warm and friendly, and they advised us on what to order with very good results.

Restaurant
Reina XIV is a recommended restaurant in La Granja de San Ildefonso, known for its traditional and appealing menu featuring the finest local ingredients. The establishment offers dishes such as salmon with lettuce hearts, warm salad, Cantabrian anchovies, homemade croquettes, cocido soup, beef steak, veal escalope, suckling lamb and more. Although there have been some negative reviews about service on certain platforms like TripAdvisor, it remains a popular choice for dining in the area.
Please be aware that Google is not updated. This restaurant has changed ownership, cousine and style. The staff is very friendly, the food is a new experience compared to the usual Spanish restaurant you see in the area. I would highly recommend. Note to management: have more wine offerings, Spain is rich in wine and it would be interesting to see how you pair your food with different regions
Luis P — Google review
We had an amazing lunch here. The food was by far some of the best I've ever had and it was both thoughtful and creative. There was so much attention to detail that made the experience perfect. Perfect. The decoration, the type of music, the VOLUME of the music, the service, the waiter, the hand soap, and, of course, the food. The experience was a narrated history lesson of the area through food. I've been to La Granja 20 times and run trips there, but I still learned a lot. Everything we ate was locally sourced and made in-house. San Ildefonso was built as the summer home for the king and queen of Spain, so we ate things they ate, as well as the locals, but with an "upgrade." The spoon I ate was an egg yolk where they removed the inside, filled it with cream of onion, and topped it with spices. It got more elaborate from there. It was thoughtfully curated and one of the best meals I've had. They treated us as guests of honor and even gave us free wine and one of our courses. The chef, Borja, sat and had coffee with us after the meal and explained his concept, and the waiter Luis told us that he loves customers like us because we interacted with him and could tell we really enjoyed our meal. I hope more three-hour lunches like this are in my future. Please eat here if you're anywhere near Segovia. It will hopefully soon be a Michelin star restaurant and the prices will go up!
James M — Google review
This restaurant is under new ownership, so most previous google reviews at least, are irrelevant. Now a fine dining, degustation style restaurant the new owner / chef is bringing something decidedly different and unique to La Granja. If you are after, basic or cheap local fare, this is not for you, paella or tapas are not sold here. But if you are after a true dining experience, that takes you through the history of the region and its food and provides you with a modern take on the foods eaten by both the peasant farmers and the royalty of the palace, then I highly recommend it. The menu is unique, varied and very creative. The small plates will, after 9 or so courses, leave you glad that you skipped lunch. The staff are highly attentive and delightful. Clearly, they share the owner/chefs passion for providing a dining experience based on history. This is not for everyone, but we loved it . Alow 2 to 2.5 hours and as I said, skip lunch if you are there for dinner. Broaden your mind to allow the chef to surprise you with each course (there are not itemised menu choices to be made) and be surprised and delighted by the creativity of the teams desire to get you thinking a little what the people of this region ate, whether rich or poor. All ingredients are locally sourced and there are two choices of degustation menu, one based more on peasant eating and less on palace royalty and the other reverse. Would highly recommend to adventuresome diners wanting something different, local and memorable.
Gareth T — Google review
My Spanish wife & I ate like Felipe V & Maria Teresa at Reina XIV. This Michelin-tagged restaurant offers exquisite food in an intimate setting. Excellent value for money. We ate ham croquettes, trout, suckling pig, flan, a bottle of Ribera, sherry, & coffee for €170. Worth a trip from Segovia to dine there.
Burt C — Google review
It was very disappointing for a Michelin recommended restaurant. I chose "faizan" and it was "sad", untasty, almost cold. Looked like microwaved from frozen. Asparagus were just ok as a first dish. Sommelier is absolutely transparent without knowledge, nor presenting the wine before serving (neither you are authorised to taste it). Dessert was not home made.... overall, avoid, not at the level.
Jean D — Google review
Wonderful "cochinillo" and traditional dishes from the area (Segovia). It's a must-go in "La Granja", great food and amazing staff. We ate the traditional "Judiones" from La Granja, "cochinillo segoviano" and the most delicious meat instantly cooked in a hot stone. Also wonderful desserts (goat cheese ice cream is quite an experience) and good spirits. Don't miss your chance to try the place!

If you're in La Granja de San Ildefonso and looking for a unique dining experience, consider visiting El Taller restaurant. This establishment offers an innovative menu with English-style preparations infused with the best of Segovia's local flavors. Some standout dishes on their menu include spiced black pudding, mixed salad, scrambled eggs, sea bass, lamb chops, sirloin steak, and pork loin.
The locals love it and for good reason.

Local hangout, not tourist catering. Decent food and great place for cheap eats if you're in town and don't have a car. Just the other side of the wall from the royal site. Great service. They have a highchair, and reasonably safe for little kids to run around outside at if not st the table.

(Translated by Google) Unfortunately, they no longer serve food. It's only open until 1 p.m. But the place is charming. The owner's great-great-great-grandfather, who's behind the bar, was the Palacio's chief plumber. Generations and generations of Lobos have lived in La Granja. The premises of this humble treasure were his father's and grandfather's workshop, hence why they've kept their old tools displayed on its walls... The owner is very polite and attentive. There's an equally charming outdoor terrace surrounded by grass. It's at the entrance to La Granja and you can park easily. A highly recommended place for a coffee, a beer, and a tapas bar at very affordable prices. No nonsense, no prices that will double your price. Simply put: simple, charming, and affordable. And the omelette and coffee are delicious.

Restaurant
La Taberna del Pelón, located in La Granja de San Ildefonso, is a prominent restaurant in the gastronomic scene of Segovia. Visitors recommend the delicious judiones de la granja and the excellent main courses. The torta de Segovia with tomato jam and onion bread comes highly recommended as well.
What a pleasant surprise! We had several different salads, appetizers and a few of the desserts, and they were all truly excellent. The artichoke stuffed with prawns, topped with mango and caramelized onion was a true surprise. As was the frozen cheese bar, caramelized and topped with fruit coulis.
Z U — Google review
The food was simple but delicious. Mariela, the chef is great. We had the croquetas, then the Huevos with mushrooms and fries and the entrecôte. Everything was made from scratch, very fresh. The restaurant is rustic but cozy.
Jocelyn P — Google review
A wonderful experience at this beautiful, immaculate, restaurant so perfectly sumbolic of the beauty of Castilla. We strolled through La Granja and found many wonderful places, in fact, we had to stop at some at least just to enjoy a snack, but La Taberna del Pelon was perhaps the best. Great service, polite, professional, as is always expected. And the best part: the food. It was the season to find "Salmorejo con helado de parmesano", a type of gazpacho (not exactly, but like gazpacho it is served cold) with a delicious "ice cream" in the center that is actually a parmesan bechamel sauce... exquisite! We then shared "Judiones con boletus y conejo", those giant white fava beans known in Castilla as "little jewesses" because when Jews and Chrstians coexisted in Medieval Spain, the Christians observed that the Jews cooked these beans often. The rabbit was in delicate tastefully small cuts that permeated the dish and blended perfectly with the natural mushroom. My goodness Spanish cuisine is the best in the world, perhaps because unlike any other Mediterranean cuisine, Spain uses the ingredients themselves to create the unique flavors, rather than "disguise and dress" the flavors with disconnected spices and tricks. The decor was like being in a fable... and of course La Granja de San Ildefons is already a fable-like village to match Versaille. We were also treated with conversation, which always make a meal memorable. If you visit La Granja, top off your visit by dining at La Taberna del Pelon to make it a perfect trip.
Alberto O — Google review
Excellent in all aspects! We tried the albondigas, crema de puerros, empanadillas de perdiz, pluma Iberica, torreznos, volcan de chocolate. The albondigas was so good that our son ordered a 2nd one! All other dishes we tried were very tasty with clean flavours and quality ingredients. Service was very attentive and helpful. The chef was super accommodative and creative with our dietary requests, when we asked for no potatoes the plates didn't come out all "naked" like many other restaurants but instead with tasty vegetable/pickles. Price is very reasonable for the quality and service. Highly recommended!
Thu D — Google review
Great food. cordero lechal is great as is the Castilian soup.
Alex B — Google review
The food is nice, but the service should really be improved. Long wait for starters, and main dish, and 20 minutes to receive the check….plus the waiter lost control of the plate and several fries fell in the table (which were never cleaned), not acceptable. Go somewhere else
Elena C — Google review
You must try the burrata. I forgot to take a picture of it is spectacular. The pesto, with slices of mango is incredible.

After exploring the stunning gardens and baroque architecture of the palace, guests can unwind at La Fundición with delicious dishes that reflect the rich gastronomic heritage of Segovia.
We had a great lunch here before our visit to the palace. They serve traditional food with a modern touch. The portion is big. My favorite is the tortilla with ortigilla. Definitely a must to try!

Great experience. Spain is known for its cheesecakes and egg dishes, and this place had the best cheesecake and omelet I’ve had anywhere in the country. The rest of the dishes were also excellent, and the service was impeccable. Everything was reasonably priced, including the wine. Great value for money and well worth the visit—even for a short trip from Madrid. We’ll definitely be back.

Best gourmet restaurant in the region. We did not take the menu because it was too much food especially given it was diner at it opens quite late (Spanish times) but we shared 2 starters, 2 plates and 1 desert for 3 people. Excellent wines Sometimes very creative cuisine! We loved the tomato tartar with basil icrecream, de croquetas de judiones, or thé pistache fondant !

Worth to go and have lunch here when in the Region. Food was delicious and service kind and good.
Wouter — Google review
We had a reservation there on May 2 at 8:30pm. We arrived a few minutes before and found the door closed and a sign saying they were closed for dinner (I have a picture). I pushed on the door and it was clearly locked. While we stood by the door wondering where to go for dinner, several Spaniards tried to go in and they said "está cerrado" and walked away. This is important to note since we were not the only ones who thought it was closed, but at least 4 other couples thought the same thing. We stood there until 8:40pm until we found another place to go to dinner on Google Maps. The door remained closed. We were later charged €40 for not showing up. We emailed them stating we were there on time and provided the picture. They have not responded a week later. We hope this review gets their attention and they resolve this misunderstanding and remove the mistaken €40 no-show charge and then I will remove this review. We were there at our reservation time, but the door was locked and closed with a sign saying they were closed for dinner.

The pizzas were good and tasty. Also the staff was friendly. Unfortunately, the table was quite dirty and we asked whether they could wipe it but that (perhaps) still has to happen.
Pim E — Google review
We came here the second time today because we liked it so much the first time. And I was going to write a 5-star-review..... until....the waitress threw away the pieces leftover from our pizza instead of packing it up to take home. Misunderstandings happen (plus we're not native Spanish speakers) but her reaction disappointed me: instead of a simple sorry or even caring a tiny bit, she just left me standing. It's a shame the service of that one particular waitress was so bad, because the other staff, place overall, and food are really nice.

Awesomeness! Loved this pizza place. Tasty pizza.

The dough was good but there was WAY too much cheese. I love cheese and thought that it's difficult to overdo it, but they managed. Service was very friendly and we didn't have to wait long.

Pizza’s taste was good. Unfortunately, we had two hairs in one dinner. First one was in the plate where they put the cutlery and the second was in a pizza. We did not receive any apology from the staff. The only thing was that the man said:”Muy mal”. He then left and no discount was given to us. Do not recommend.

With terrace and little space inside. Better to go on days when it doesn't rain. It has parking but no intuitive entrance almost to the gas station. As a negative detail, the Coca-Colas are too small for a meal. None of the 7 of us who ate liked the mojito flan. The children have a great time seeing the horses and donkeys up close. It offers a pleasant terrace on Plaza de Espana, making it an ideal spot for enjoying a beer or horchata while visiting the nearby Palacio Real. However, some visitors find the prices to be on the higher side. The restaurant has received mixed reviews regarding its food, with opinions varying among locals and online sources. While some praise its offerings, others have expressed more critical views.
That was different than the usual spanish fare. First of all, they were open during the siesta, thank god. No problems with meals in the menu but not available or card payment. We took salads and they were great. Dessert too. Even espresso was good. Best 50 euro spent that day.

A simple village cafe. Had early light lunch on a Saturday. Not busy. Had a typical fava bean soup & sopa de castellano. Also, a uniquely Segovian dessert. All were delicious & well made. Service was good. Located on tree lined street leading to Palacio. Nice outdoor seating area under trees. €46 was a little more than expected.

PERFECT. We ate two salads - with goat cheese and with salmon, and a dessert - segovian ponch. Everything looked amazing and tasted absolutely magnificent. The staff was super fast even though all tables were occupied.

Untasty food: absolutely cold salmon crepes with very strange green sauce. Berry pie tastes like frozen pie from supermarket with a thin layer of berry marmalade.

Really bad. Bad attitude of the waitress. Sense of not having any control. Everything rushed. Food finally arrived but very expensive, cold and really small and not tasty portions. Please don’t go there

UPDATE: IT IS PITY AGAIN TO SEE YOUR IGNORENCE TO IMPROVE YOUR SERVICE. SEE HOW YOU ARE RESPONDING CUSTOMER'S GENUINE COMMENT. I AM CLEAR THAT WE VISITED YOUR EL EUROPEA CAFÉ -RESTAURENTE ONLY NOT HOTEL EUROPEO. WE ARE NOT ILLITERATE TO ENTER ONE AND POSTING REVIEW ON ANOTHER. DONT LIE. PLEASE SHOW YOUR PROFESSIONALISM TO IMPROVE YOUR GOOD SERVICE INSTEAD OF GIVING REPLY WITH FALSE STATEMENTS. ---------------------------- Had a bitter experience. We wait for considerable amount of time but the served foods were not warm enough and not up to the mark. They took orders by noting down but when we see the bill they added twice for one food. When we notified it one of the waitresses shows strong face and told us they served two which is not true. After they confirmed with the Chef then only they believed us and they revised the bill. Similarly they served one basket of breads but billed for two baskets. It shows that they have no professional quality. These incidents spoiled our visit. Surely we wont go again and not recommand.

Bar restaurante peñalara is a fantastic choice for those looking to indulge in traditional Spanish dishes and specialities. The restaurant offers a cozy and quiet atmosphere, making it perfect for enjoying tapas with wine or opting for items from the menu. Guests can savor dishes like dorada a la plancha, bacalao dorado, and bacalao estilo portugues con nata, accompanied by a glass of Ribera del Duero.
No doubts this fully deserves all the 5/5 stars! Everything was great and we ate much of the menu … 😜 The service was also great and fast: all three people we interacted with were pleasant, human and happy to be there. And the food: I had the traditional / tourist set menu fearing a tourist trap… but I was delighted with what I got - If anything it was just too much delicious food we could not let go of! Very well done to whomever is managing this place. Worth a second visit

Looking for a quiet time away from Madrid, we went hiking in a nearby trail in Castilla, after we went searching for lunch, we stopped at Peñalara Bar Restaurante on our way to palacio real La Granja. The food was amazing, as well as the atmosphere. This little town takes you back in time and the food brings you back your sanity after a long walk.

Nestled in the regal town of La Granja de San Ildefonso, Parador de la Granja is a luxurious hotel housed in an 18th-century building originally constructed for the children of King Carlos III. The elegant rooms, refined spa, and outdoor pool offer a posh retreat.
We love staying at the Paradores as the rooms are always very nice, the beds comfortable, the food outstanding, and the service superb. This one is no exception. In fact, it's one of the better that we've experienced. I believe they are also a great value. Located just a short walk from both the Palace and the glass factory, the Parador is an ideal place to stay.

I had a bad experience at the parador. The air conditioning in my room didn’t work. I tried getting help from the reception who assured me that someone would come fix it. I returned multiple times and was assured multiple times but no one came, so I had to sleep through the night with no air conditioning. The next morning at reception I was told that there is no technicians that can come as the AC is ‘monitored remotely’. The reasonable thing would have been to move me to a room where the AC works, but no one did anything to remediate the situation.

La Granja was chosen as a destination purely for the gardens, built by Philip V at the turn of the 18th century and influenced by Versailles. There is also a palace attached to the gardens, La Granja de San Ildefonso, but that was closed on Mondays. We were staying at the Parador which was about 10 minutes walk from the palace and gardens. We only had standard rooms rather than upgrades but they were fabulous - large rooms with spacious bathrooms, a good sized desk, excellent wifi, plenty of sockets and plenty of storage. They did lack a kettle though, which was frustrating as I am usually up around 6AM and like to star the day off with a drink before breakfast. They were very good value too. I'd say English was a bit limited at the hotel with most staff having about by level of Spanish although some were fluent in English but there were no issues and we were always able to work out what each other was saying. We used the cafe twice in the Parador and the service was excellent each time as well as the coffee and cakes. There didn't seem to be many places open to eat on a Monday evening so we decided to eat in the hotel later, even though the restaurant didn't open until 20:30! We had a fabulous dinner at the Parador, pork shank for Mum, veal tenderloin for Deb and I with what we thought was a vegetable side dish but was actually a soup! Vegetables do seem a rarity in Spanish restaurants. Mum was so stuffed she just had a coffee for dessert, which she struggled to finish, I had a Sergovian cake and Deb had berries marinated in lime and a carrot ice cream. The breakfast the next morning (a €21 option) was excellent with a wide variety of cooked and buffet options in a lovely setting. A lovely way to start the day.

First time in these Paradores, and pleasantly surprised. A completely renovated hotel. It is incredibly beautiful, we had a standard room that fully met our expectations. Spacious rooms with all amenities. Breakfast and dinner are exceptionally well prepared and there is a choice for everyone's taste. The staff is very friendly and helpful, also in English. Within walking distance you can reach the beautiful royal palace with its beautiful gardens. The old part of the city is within walking distance of the hotel and it is recommended to take a walk through the picturesque old part in the evening. There is always a nice atmosphere with many eateries and bars. A small downside is that the swimming pool was not yet open in mid-May. Free hotel parking is nearby

I spent 400 euros to stay at this hotel for my anniversary trip and I expected its would be an great experience in this small town, but i feel that the service are not professional and their attitude is not like a 4 star hotel should have. The staffs are so rude and unfriendly. I stayed hotels about 30-50 nights from 3 stars to 5 stars per year in Asia and Europe and I've never had an experience like this. Such an awful experience.

As Amigos de Parador we have tried to stay in interesting Paradors as part of our commitment to support Spanish heritage type hotels. However, this Parador does not fulfill a commitment on the part of the chain to deliver outstanding service. When we parked our car and walked 100 m or so with our luggage, carried them up stairs, and then waited to check in our disappointment began. There is no service, facilities or help if you have difficulty with luggage. After a 15 minute wait to check in (unacceptable) we went to our average room. Nothing special. No complimentary water provided (the Paradors should change this). The check in staff was not very friendly or helpful. For the price, there was not the expected value. I can’t recommend as anything more than average.

(Translated by Google) The service and atmosphere are fantastic; the staff is attentive, polite, and, in our case, very fast. The food, however, is overpriced for the portion size and, in some dishes, also for the quality and flavor. We ordered black rice with cuttlefish and kidney beans, both single dishes, designed to be served as starters or main courses. The portions, especially the rice, are not good value for money. The portions are small, and it feels like the rice was overcooked on one side and the cuttlefish was added on the other, with no flavor. The kidney beans were tasty, nothing special, and the portion may be small for some people.

(Translated by Google) It's a shame that the suckling pig came cold. We had the ribs part and for the price the food is low. I have eaten better beans and better food in general in other places. (Translated by Google) The service is exquisite, but the value for money is very poor. The portions are too small for anyone and have little flavor. You pay to be a Parador, but you can't get small, bland dishes for an average of €20. You leave feeling cheated. (Translated by Google) The supposedly overwhelmed and arrogant maître d', the staff was insufficient, the dishes were cold, the food quality was a disgrace for these prices, the wines were three times the price in the cellar, and you had to wait an hour for your first course, even though you had booked... The worst Parador restaurant of the many I've visited. And we ate there two days because I thought it was a one-off mistake. The only redeeming feature was the croquettes; and be careful, ask, because if you don't, they'll give you a tenner and charge you for it. And on top of that, they tell you they have a sommelier. Forget it. These places should have closed. And if you ask, they tell you there's a problem in the kitchen, and they only found out after an hour. So why do you want a maître d'? Extremely irritated. And the voucher they recommend is bad, less than €8 and charged at €20. Mosqueado a tope.

We arrived at 8:30 p.m. and left at 11 p.m. Something is missing in that kitchen: Half a portion of tiny, tasteless ham croquettes at €9 (disproportionate). Very delicious grilled salmon, but raw accompaniment vegetables. Noodles with vegetables and soy so salty that they were inedible and I had to return them (they treated me phenomenally, they apologized and offered me another dish). The cheesecake with rich cream ice cream. The chocolate ice cream tasted very bad. The correct children's menu. Price and quality are not consistent. It is good to eat but this disappointed me quite a bit because I remembered it better.

There was a bit of a strange passive aggressiveness… but it rained and in the end they left us at a table inside the site. The menu proposal is fine, I think they could be a little more friendly when serving the soup, for example... serving it moves all the content and looks a little ugly. The food is very delicious. The menu costs 45 for two people and includes two soups or broths and 1/4 of lamb or pork. We had lunch here before we went on a hiking route. We had made a reservation on the terrace. I was truly surprised about the quality of the day menu. Great amount of choices and it all looked amazing. Only it didn't only looked amazing it was I loved the combination fusion of tastes. Everything was very nice, definitely going to repeat. Restaurante Posada de los Embajadores is a two-story eatery located in a historical townhouse from the 16th to 17th century. They specialize in serving regional cuisine made with locally sourced ingredients. During lunch, the owner advised patrons to order slightly less due to their generous portions, but even with smaller orders, there was an abundance of food. Sharing plates was also recommended by the owner.
Wife and I stopped for light brunch, and somehow we were served with few free tapas that were so delicious. We were not able to understand the whole conversation, but we knew that we were welcomed with warm heart. 100% recommended!

Excellent service and food. The waitress cant communicate with us but she helped out with our order patiently by google translate from Spanish to English. We could taste their delicious food without over ordering under her thoughtful recommendation.

Unfortunately, one of the most unpleasant dining experiences I've had in a while. We arrived around 7:30 pm and politely asked if we could order food, only to be told (without much explanation) that the kitchen was closed. When we inquired further, we eventually got an answer – though it felt more like pulling teeth than asking a simple question. After waiting patiently for the kitchen to reopen, we asked where to place our food order. The response? A nose wrinkle and a silent nod toward the bar, delivered while clearing glasses without even acknowledging us. No words, no smile, not even basic courtesy. The overall vibe from the staff was a mix of cold indifference and barely concealed annoyance – and we weren’t the only ones who noticed. Thankfully, we found a place literally just around the corner, where we were treated like actual human beings – friendly, attentive, and professional. The contrast couldn't have been starker. Safe to say, we won’t be returning – unless we’re conducting a case study on how not to treat guests.

Small town bar with food. It's a spot for regulars. I got a vibe not a lot of English Americans go often but a young staff member worked with me to help me order. My company overcrowded a local restaurant so I wondered off and found this place open late night. Ordered a steak and fries with a shot. Steak was decent size but only salt as seasoning. It's a place to grab a drink and talk amongst friends. A few seat choices and staff tried to keep it clean. Reasonable priced but food wasn't a highlight.

Restaurante Canonigos is an elegant establishment offering a sophisticated dining experience. The restaurant boasts a pleasant ambiance and a helpful staff. Its convenient location near the royal palace adds to its appeal. The portion sizes and presentation of dishes are commendable, although some customers felt that the taste fell slightly short. We found it because, after visiting the Palace, it was starting to rain and it was time to eat, so we went in to see what we could find. They offer pre-established menus that, at first glance, may seem expensive. We chose one that included La Granja Beans for the first and Suckling Lamb for the second. The quantity and quality of the food is spectacular, the lamb very tender (see photo). It also included a drink, dessert and coffee. The attention from the waiter was very correct and professional. (Translated by Google) The place is good but the food is not of the quality expected for the price we paid. The beans were not bad, although I expected something more in the stew. The suckling pig, reheated, burnt in some parts, did not have a good flavor. It seemed like it was made the day before and returned to the oven, very dry and little sauce. The fries, salad and bread were good. The children's menu was a bad schnitzel and completely bland macaroni with some chorizo and fries, all together on the same plate. The wine, a bottle of Ribera del Duero that you see arrive open with a cork half inserted, quite quarrelsome. It gives me the feeling that they had filled it with another one of worse quality. It's a shame because the place is very good but we won't go back there to eat a suckling pig. Surely fried eggs were a better option.

Extremely expensive for what it is. It's not that it's ugly, on the contrary, but the fact that it's so dirty and the bathroom is so untidy puts me off staying. (Original) Muy caro para lo que es. We ordered a couple of appetizers and then, for the main course, the judiones (beans). Everything was delicious. You can tell they have good produce and know what to do with it. The scrambled eggs with black pudding and the ratatouille were very smooth and delicious. And the beans, with a homemade flavor and mild as well. They were very delicious. I've had them in other places in Segovia, and for my taste, they had too much of a paprika flavor, something that doesn't happen at this restaurant. If you're still hungry, try their desserts, which are truly homemade. I recommend it; I'm sure you'll like it, and the price is very good. Excellent food and location. Very poor customer service. I was there on my way to Asturias, my father who is Handycap and this day was even more than naturally as he had recently broke his left arm (and was visibly wearing a hard cast) could not be accommodated to climb their stairs to the “meson comedor”. We stopped there to have a decent meal as dad wanted to impress me on the good Segovian Cochinillo. The man behind the bar was overwhelmingly busy but failed to realize the customer needs. This is unacceptable. We had to wait in the bar tables to get served for 35 minutes because the comedor was busy. We where there long before many of the other guests that were able to claim to the meson. By the time they came to attend our order the Cochinillo was gone. As I write this I am reviving the moment in my head and cannot help a string drive to go back and put only 1 Star. But it would not be totally fair. Their food was still (cochifrito) excellent and their table wine was a superb Rioja. We ended up eating some satisfying meal. Only their lack of attention to our needs gained them the 2 * I am giving them. Dad loved their sugar loaded (see picture, I don’t recall what is called) Segovian dessert.

Good food, good-sized portions. I had the morcilla and the Codillio which were well cooked and more than enough. Others of our party had judiones which they thoroughly enjoyed. Prices are a bit lower than average for La Granja or Segovia. Great amount of outdoors seating and friendly, accommodating staff. Highly recommended.

Restaurante Ganbaru is a hidden gem nestled near La Granja de San Ildefonso, renowned for its unique cooking technique that utilizes hot volcanic stones. This method not only preserves the natural flavors of the ingredients but also ensures that dishes are free from oil or gas, making it an ideal choice for grilled meats. The restaurant offers a diverse menu with beautifully presented dishes and an à la carte option, including a must-try truffled chocolate dessert that will leave you craving more.
The waiter/chef/boss offer a nice service, talking with the customers and explaining the dishes. We had 2 special menus and 2 executive. Lots of food, "la granja beans" are a must try and the kg steak.

More of a local spot, but we were treated really nice. Good tapas and top service. Worth a stop for drinks and a quick bite.

I would leave a zero if only it was possible. The place is empty which definitely is a warning sign. You could hear how they warm up food in microwave that makes you think that the food is not fresh. We left after the starter without waiting for further disappointment.

Loved the food and the service. We were here on a Monday not realising most restaurants are closed on Mondays but the restaurant opened for us. The owners were very friendly and great with the children. Food was exceptional and i would recomend “buey a la piedra”

passed here after a long hike in the mountains and urgently needed a cold beverage, so we stopped here to have some coca colas. were surprised to see they costed 5 euro for 2 coca colas, a price we even never paid in the city center of Segovia.... not sure if we were ripped off or if this really was the price (since lots of bars / restaurants don't have a price list for drinks....) however the place was nicely packed (terrace almost full). you can park in one of the nearby streets

(Translated by Google) Very delicious food and variety on the menu. Tuesdays are the only ones that are open and it is a detail. The meatballs were very good and so were the fries. The avocado and mango salad is very original and the cannelloni is delicious although a little meager for its overall price. The terrace chairs are a bit uncomfortable. (Translated by Google) Hilario's service was appalling. We waited an hour for our order to be taken, having to remind them. Then it took another hour for us to be served: a simple tomato salad and a small plate of beans. We sat down at 2:30 p.m., and by 5:00 p.m., they still hadn't served our second course. When I went to say we weren't eating anymore because we couldn't wait any longer and asked for a charge for what we had consumed, his response was simply, "I'm not charging you for everything." No apology, no explanation. I'd never experienced anything like this before. (Translated by Google) The quality of the food, and especially the raw materials, is spectacular. I've been going for 10 years, and before it was a different concept, they had some of the best tortilla skewers I've ever tried and the price was cheap. Now it is good food, different, more elegant and less cheap, but much more expensive. It's always full, go ahead or call. It would be a good idea to put a spring on the bathroom door, because it gets cold and the tables near the door have to close it. (Translated by Google) We found this place after walking down the street and ruling out the first restaurants you find, and it was a real success. It's true that one of the waitresses treated us a little abruptly upon entering, but the brunette who served us was incredibly nice. There were five of us; three of them ordered the suckling pig menu, and the two of us ordered the Christmas tasting menu (the one in the photos), which was a total success. The regular menus, with beans and suckling pig, were very filling, while the tasting menu had enough to satisfy your taste buds. Each and every one of the dishes was exquisite, and I loved the sautéed boletus mushrooms. The beans were delicious. And the suckling pig was super soft and had very crispy skin. The house wine is delicious. The only drawback I would mention would be the seats at the back of the dining room, which are a bit uncomfortable. (Translated by Google) Disappointing – I do not recommend it The service was terrible and extremely slow. There was only one person in charge of the entire restaurant, which resulted in disorganized and extremely slow service. We ordered several dishes from the menu and were told they were out of stock. Furthermore, the menu is outdated, and the prices on the website don't match the actual price. The ponche segoviano was brought to us warm because it was frozen, which is unacceptable because it's a dessert served cold and made in a workshop. They charged us €8 for a dessert, selling it as something it wasn't, because that can't be considered ponche segoviano. The portions are expensive and small, and don't justify the price. Furthermore, the service doesn't change between courses, which demonstrates a lack of customer service. The restaurant's space is very small and overcrowded with tables pushed together, making the experience uncomfortable and unpleasant. Furthermore, in the middle of August, there was no air conditioning, only a single fan, which wasn't enough for the entire restaurant. The restaurant doesn't have tablecloths on the tables, the tables are small and don't comply with space regulations, which means you end up eating in uncomfortable conditions. And worst of all, when we finished eating, they made us feel like we were unnecessary, practically kicking us out of the restaurant. When we tried to complain about the terrible service, which wasted our time, the staff's response was disrespectful and unacknowledged the mistakes they had made. The attitude was completely offensive, with no intention of resolving the situation. The prices on the website are not accurate, because although the price of the punch was stated as €6, they charged us €8. I attach a screenshot of my receipt and the menu itself. In short: slow and poor service, misleading prices, poor portions, uncomfortable and overcrowded space, lack of air conditioning, only one person in charge of the restaurant, unacceptable customer service, no way to contact them to complain, and staff who don't acknowledge their mistakes. I do not recommend it at all.

(Translated by Google) Disgraceful, terrible service, and overpriced for what it is. We agree it's on the farm and you pay for the place, but service should be good anywhere. They served me well and on time, but after half an hour, they still didn't bring my partner his "cannelloni dish." I put that in quotes because after charging €23, it literally came with four cannelloni. My judiones (beans) were marked on the menu as coming with blood sausage, chorizo, and bacon; no lie, they came with just judiones. I have to say the judiones themselves weren't bad. After half an hour, I got up and told one of the waiters that my partner had been waiting for half an hour. The dish arrived immediately. Everyone makes mistakes, but after a mistake, at least don't "sneak" us in for two pieces of bread when we only had one piece. I don't usually write reviews, but I found it so amazing that I can't keep quiet. (Translated by Google) The place is good if you are looking for a good value for money, you want beans from La Granja and you don't want to bother looking for places and take a gamble. The food in terms of quality is good, the only thing but could be the little variety that the daily menu has. 4 first courses, three second courses and another 5 for dessert. It is true that for 12 euros you cannot ask for much more, but you also think that you would not mind paying 2-3€ more in exchange for one more dish. In my opinion, its highlight is the desserts. They have different options and they work great. The service, in my case, a little slow, but it is also true that they were full.

(Translated by Google) A relatively spacious establishment with a modern, industrial feel. It's quite hidden, though. The service was fast, and nothing more. The food was very average, falling short of expectations based on other reviews. For example, the baby squid was covered in sand, and my companion's cod could have been much improved.
