Friendly staff, food was good and the beer was cold. After a day hiking came over and had chicken wings, lobster rolls and soup.

Great pizza. We walked in 20 minutes to closing after leaving BSP and realizing that there was absolutely nothing open. They were kind and allowed us to order a pizza to go. Not a bad price either for the quality and size.
Jack P — Google review
We had the calzone it was delicious with the best marinara sauce. They were busy but our waitress Stephanie was incredibly sweet. If we are ever in the area we will go back they have a variety of food on their menu.
Peggy O — Google review
The waitress was nice and took our order promptly and then we waited 45 minutes. When the food arrived, the fries were cold, the hamburger i had was just a glob of tomatoes, pickles, onions and a warm burger not hot. One of my kid got a burger, same temp and no condiments on it and my wife had a sandwich was good but again cold fries. The bill $55 and a $5 tip, id have to say this is a NO for me

I get dinner here at least one night every time I visit Millinocket. It's the perfect place after a strenuous hike - they serve generous portions of comfort food. Sometimes quantity is a trade-off for quality, but this place does both - everything is always delicious. Most recently, I got a taco salad and my wife got a burger and both were great. The taco salad was massive and one of the best I've had. The potato skins were also excellent! Easily one of the best restaurants in the area. You may note that there are very few restaurants in the area, so that's not exactly a ringing endorsement. However, if the Scootic were in my area where it's much more competitive, I still think they'd have a great following.

Great hole in the wall for visitors to Millinocket! This spot offers cozy hometown diner vibes along with excellent service. Elina is such a sweetheart!! Fresh seafood, reasonable prices, and great portion size. We’ll likely be back before we head back home!

Absolutely fantastic restaurant! We drove up by chance, very friendly staff, quick service and good sized portions! Highly recommend! Nice local beers on tap.

Oct. 9, 2021 - Ever heard the story “ Little Engine That Could”? The Scootic In & Millinocket reminds me of that train engine working hard to climb that hill . . . After hiking around Baxter Park with my wife and Nikon camera on a perfect autumn day, we stopped in around 5:30 pm at the Scootic In . A very polite hostess told us of the “ wait”. . . after reading the large Covid sign on the door we accept that most restaurants in Maine are in short supply of employees, so the owners asked for your patience. I purchased drinks at the bar, and we looked over the menu while waiting for our table. Amber, our server, guided us to our table after 20 minutes. The dining room & bar were packed. . . So we ordered our appetizer & dinner all at once, with our wait about another 15 minutes! All was good! There’s about 7 salad choices, we enjoyed the Greek Salad first! Menu choices included seafood, burgers, sandwiches, pub appetizers, steaks & chicken . . . we ordered the 14 inch homemade pizza ( pepperoni, extra cheese, and onions on half )! After another 10 minutes our delicious looking pizza arrived. Very satisfying pizza too! Thank you for a good meal! Richard was so kind and great conversationalist! The food was delicious. I had a lobster roll and it was really good! The views are spectacular I felt very much at peace here

We stayed here for 4 nights. Went to the restaurant 2 times and both times we had really good food and service. Clean and great views. I highly recommend it and would definitely come back.
Todd F — Google review
We had our anniversary dinner here and really enjoyed it. The salmon was excellent, the steak was flavorful, and the poutine appetizer totally hit the spot. The view is beautiful and it is definitely one of the nicest sit-down options in town. Service could have been a bit warmer, but overall it was a lovely evening we’d recommend to others.

💎Hidden Gem Alert! The Knife Edge Burger is easily in my top 3 best burgers I've ever eaten! The different toppings absolutely compliment each other to form a burger the perfect burger bursting with flavor. The Baxter Loop Pretzel is a must try also with beer cheese to die for! If you're looking for great place to dine in the Millinocket Lake area it's worth looking up.

Haddock sandwich excellent! Everyone at our table loved their food. Little overpriced. Limited menu.

Bopped in here before heading into Baxter and had a great experience. Ate outside and the atmosphere was incredible. Stunning gardens and view of the lake. Definitely would come back to stay in the lodge. Food was also great!

Looked for some food in the area and there isn’t many options. Saw this “off the beaten path”. Sooo happy we did! The food was very good! We were very happy we came. The views are fantastic. Only downfall is no air conditioning. Would defiantly recommend!
Jeff J — Google review
The food was outstanding! Probably the best we had while in town. It wasn't too busy when we got there, so it was nice and quiet. Service could have been better. Once the food was delivered, we really didn't see our server until we were finished. She was nice, just a little inattentive. Overall, great lunch stop!

There is no better way to begin your day in Millinocket! Honestly, just go and enjoy it. You’ll feel like a local and you’ll leave with a full stomach. This place is so great we stopped by multiple times during our stay. The homemade English muffins, tater tots, and donuts are a great way to stay fueled up for exploring the wilderness of Maine!
Samantha B — Google review
Solid breakfast cafe. We ate here for a late breakfast on a slow Sunday morning in the early fall. Milinocket special, chopped tater tots with grilled onions and cheese with two eggs on top, was exactly as described, and was very tasty. The special French toast with apples was also very good. Food was served hot and well prepared. Servings sizes were generous. Service was friendly and prompt. Prices weren’t cheap, but reasonable for these days.
PH C — Google review
We stopped by here 15 minutes before closing. We took a quick look at the menu and decided to walk in. The server was a friendly lady who let us to stay to have our lunch. She was amazing! I ordered a Mediterranean Salad with a orange 🍊 and my partner did a Berry Zinger Salad with iced tea, both of them were delicious! We also split a Good Old Burger! I loved the pictures on the walls for sale and the atmosphere inside. There were just few people in, but we loved it! 🍔🥗🍽️

Great little cafe with friendly, efficient services. I had breakfast there twice while I was visiting for a week of hiking in Baxter State Park. Both days I had an omelette which was excellent. One of the days I had a awesome chocolate donut that was warm out of the oven. If you are a millinocket Maine, you must go here for breakfast.
M B — Google review
While staying at Big Moose Inn, we wanted to have breakfast in town and we saw that this location had a good rating. It was decorated nicely with lots of art work on the walls. Our waitress was Leah. I ordered the special, Egg Benedict ($15), which came with tots and my wife ordered the Abol omelet ($15) which was 3 eggs stuffed w/ feta, spinach, Kalamata olives, roasted red pepper & Scallion served w/ toast (she got the homemade English muffin) and tots. The food was very good and hit the spot. Leah did a great job (even brewed a fresh pot of decaf for my wife), and if we are ever in the area again, we will return.
Prohomevideos — Google review
At breakfast at the cafe my son tells me “the 22 people here right now account for 1/2% of the population of Millinocket”. Telling. Ghe food is hearty and delicious. Omelets are chuck full of veggies or whatever you choose. The coffee is strong and yummy. We didn’t miss a morning.
Hanaan R — Google review
Great breakfast - both typical and unique local menu selections. Tot poutine was phenomenal! Reminded me of Minnesota tater tot hotdish, but for breakfast!
Eric S — Google review
Stopped by here for breakfast before a day of hiking. Basic menu items that are all as good as one expects from an older diner-style staple of the town. Friendly staff that knew, or at least acknowledged everyone that came through the door with a smile. Highly recommend their monstrous squash donuts!

I finally got to try this place for the first time and I was amazed. It's a quaint little "hole-in-the-wall" dive on your way to Baxter State Park. The inside was decorated with old tools that were used in the saw mills way back in the day. The ladies were so friendly and accommodating. The food was AMAZING! The burger was beautifully juicy and the buns were toasted nicely to balance the burger and these are by far some of THE best tasting fries I've had in a long time. Very crisp on the outside but the inside was nice and flavorful. The price was fair for the fantastic quality food and service and I recommend people stopping in and trying them yourselves!
Maria P — Google review
The food is amazing. And the atmosphere is so inviting. Being new to the area we felt right at home. They do get pretty busy some evenings so service can be a little slower due to not enough waitstaff but if you're not in a rush and want to enjoy great food then I would definitely recommend. ATV and snowmobile friendly. Clean restaurant. We have ate their twice now and it's our favorite restaurant in Millinocket.

Stop here if you are doing Baxter State park. They treat you like family, the food is amazing. Great atmosphere. 7/5 out of stars.

We stopped for dinner our last night in town. Great service, good food and good people.

Great spot close to the Maine wilderness. Salisbury steak with fries and gravy on everything was delicious. Friendly staff and I felt like home among the locals.
John S — Google review
Food is real good. Service great.
Karen D — Google review
This place has great service, food is good for the price you pay, definitely a good deal. I had the steak and it was very good and I didn’t walk away hungry. The bride had the fish and chips and she said it was good not the best she has had but for the price once again a good deal. We will be back in the future . It’s a cool little place out of the way.
David R — Google review
I had a burger here after hiking up to Hamlin ridge in Baxter State Park. There was three of us. We all had burgers and all of us agreed that they were excellent. The service was friendly and prompt and even though the place got crowded while we were there, our meal was served in a reasonable time. We'll definitely go back here again.

Went here with my girlfriend and had an awesome experience. The place was super welcoming from the moment we walked in. The owner was really friendly and kept chatting with us — made us feel right at home. And the pizza? So good. Definitely coming back!

So glad we went here. Pizza and burgers were delicious. I didn't expect much from the outside, but it's nicely decorated and the owner was both knowledgeable and nice. We had a Hawaiian and a pepperoni pizza. Real mozzarella cheese. Would definitely eat here again.

Delicious everything. This was our first proper meal after returning from Mt Katahdin summit. Pepperoni pizza had a perfect thin, crispy crust. Garlic bread was garlicky and buttery. Salad was fresh. Cute little place and the owner was so friendly. Would definitely come again when in the area!
Kendra A — Google review
One of the best pizzas I've ever eaten! We watched the Asian pizza chef (yes, Asian) make and bake the pizza. Great care was taken every step of the way. Once the pizza was cooked she remove the pan and put the pizza back in to crisp up the crust. She checked it several times until it was just right. OMG, this thing (house special) was freaking awesome. If you're in the area do yourself a favor, come here! The owner is fun to chat with, too.
Ken T — Google review
My husband loved the meatball sandwich that I got from you yesterday. It's really hard to find homemade meatballs in the Brownville and Milo area, if not impossible, so yours was a wonderful treat. The guy at the counter was very nice too.
Phyllis S — Google review
Great pizza! He makes his own dough and meatballs for the pizza. It was really delicious!
Gary J — Google review
Walked in with a bottle of water, on a warm summer day. Man who was on the register told me no outside food or beverages. Stated it’s just water. And he said I don’t care, no outside food or beverages. Then proceeded to tell another customer, “I don’t know why everyone gives me lip about everything.” 2 minutes later, Another girl walked in with a water bottle, and ordered, and he didn’t say anything. Do what you want with this info.

Fredericka's Restaurant and the Loose Moose Bar & Grille is a cozy venue with a laid-back vibe, serving up classic American comfort food like pizzas and burgers. Guests have enjoyed dishes such as grilled cheese panini, mozzarella sticks, Spinach Strawberry salad, Veggie Burger, and chocolate mousse. While some items like mozzarella sticks were deemed average, the pizza stood out with its generous cheese topping and well-cooked crust.
While staying at the Big Moose Inn and Campground, we checked out the Loose Moose. It is open until 9pm and we entered around 8:30pm. I never like coming to restaurants so close to closing time but the drive through Baxter State Park took longer than we expected. At any rate, we were still made to feel very welcome. We were brought a large bottle of cold water, and given menus for both the Loose Moose as well as Fredericka’s (the other on-site restaurant located in the same building). I ordered the Turkey Pot Pie ($16) which came with farm veggies and house baked turkey and topped with phyllo crust, and my wife ordered the Loose Moose salad ($9) with grilled chicken ($5). Our food was delicious and the service was great. Even though we made it out right at 9pm, I still never felt pressured to leave. Thank You!

Great cheese quality and fresh, also one of the freshest and best Caesar salad I’ve ever had, they serve Non Alcoholic IPA’s. The rooftop is pretty cool, this is a great place to grab some grub after a hike. Very peaceful, enjoyable atmosphere and great costumer service. Millinocket, ME.
Rachel E — Google review
Fredricka’s is hands-down the best dining experience we’ve had in the area! The wait staff was beyond incredible—friendly, attentive, and making us feel like VIPs from start to finish, while also making us feel like family every time we ate there (and we ate there several times!). The food was pure comfort on a plate, yet bursting with flavor in every bite, leaving us both satisfied and impressed. Between the exceptional service and unforgettable dishes, Fredricka’s has set an impossibly high bar for every other restaurant around, and it’s the primary reason we’re already planning another trip to the area just so we can stay at the inn and enjoy it all over again.
Eric P — Google review
Great restaurant for American food, but stick with the American food they serve. We got a 12’ pizza, a grilled cheese panini, mozzarella sticks, a Spinach Strawberry salad, a Veggie Burger, and the chocolate mousse. The mozzarella sticks weren’t anything special, they seem pretty similar to ones you could get at a grocery store. The pizza was pretty good. It had lots of cheese and a well cooked crust, but the size wasn’t enough for 4 people. The salad and burger were where they shone through. The salad was absolute sublime! The strawberrries and nuts paired extremely well their “Vidalia Onion” dressing, and they cooked the eggs perfectly. You wouldn’t think to combine the ingredients they did, but it was truly amazing. The veggie burger was also great. It tasted homemade, fresh, and flavorful, ad opposed to the artificial buns you would get at other restaurants. Nice hearty taste. 8.5
Viggy V — Google review
Nice place and very convenient to those staying at Big Moose. We had the salmon salads and they were really good. Only negative was hardly any feta on the salad. For $22, don't skimp on the ingredients!
Jim M — Google review
I was staying in the area and saw that they had live music and decided to try the Loose Moose. Let's say there were a few opportunities with my experience. Vibe: It's a cute bar & grill - nothing fancy, but comfortable. The music was good and the two guys playing built a good rapport with the audience. I was much more happy to be there than in the main restaurant - Fredericka's Restaurant. Only because I was looking for a chill night and didn't want to be in a more formal environment. Service: Let me begin by saying - the bartender/server was super efficient and I didn't have to wait around for anything. With that said, she was doing the brunt of the work. There were a couple of girls helping out, but clearly a bit green and they needed some more training. (And I would note that one of them was eating French Fries behind the bar in front of customers and not washing her hands in between) As I sat at the bar and had a front row seat, one of the cooks came out a couple of times with questions on orders, but had to wait for my server/bartender to get their questions answered. Part of the issue was, she was running between the bar and Fredericka's. Food: Where do I begin - outside of disappointed. I had the Grilled Cheese Panini. Cheese - yes it had cheese, Grilled - not even close, as pale as pale can be, Panini - I think this was a thought at one time, but they clearly didn't use a true Panini press. The sandwich came with chips, but I was asked if I wanted to substitute French Fries and I eagerly did. However, when the bill came, it wasn't a substation - but a side order of French Fries. I am certainly accustomed to paying an up charge for fries these day, but not just getting a full side of fries. Loose Moose shares the same menu with Fredericka's and you can order off of their specials menu as well. I would have considered this, however, the specials menu didn't have any prices on it. I am not sure why a restauranteur would do this. There aren't many choices in the area, unfortunately. Perhaps next time I will just cook at my camp. Date of visit: 12 July 2023

Delivery Restaurant
Millinocket House of Pizza is a popular spot for delicious pizza, fries, onion rings, and steak and cheese subs. The friendly staff provides great service, making it a perfect stop for takeout or delivery. Even though it may not compare to some hometown pizzas, the food is still enjoyable. Customers appreciate the accommodating service and even mention receiving deliveries outside the regular area. Whether you're camping nearby or just passing through, this pizzeria seems like a reliable choice for satisfying meals.
I am a truck driver during covid 19 was having trouble getting food this way these folks delivered to me even though I was out of there delivery area (Irving gas station) food was ok definitely not comparable to pizza back home , but not bad . Even made me cheese fries even though it’s not on the menu . Much appreciated . Thank you guys

Stopped here twice while camping in Medway this year. Pizza is awesome, fries and onion rings were great and my husband loved the steak and cheese sub. Will definitely be going back next year. Thanks for the great service!
Ben — Google review
Terrible customer service, they ignored us for a good 5 minutes when we came in, despite being the only ones there. We sat down to eat there and waited for over 40 minutes, they had to ask what we were waiting for. They talked loudly and obnoxiously like they were in their own home vs a business establishment. Overheard them tell a customer on the phone it would be an hour wait, then once off the phone, the staff told the other staff member he just didn't like the guy on the phone and was going to make him wait extra long. Place was filthy, plates of half eaten food left on tables, dirty floor. The pizza itself was tasteless and burned. Between the awful customer service, lack of professionalism, and mediocre pizza, we will never step foot in this place again. Save yourself money and frustration and go elsewhere! I used to make this a traditional stop after every Baxter State Park visit. Must be new ownership as the place has absolutely changed.
Briana G — Google review
Stopped here with husband and parents to eat after spending longer than expected hiking around Baxter Park and missing lunch entirely. Food arrived quickly - important when very hungry! and it was delicious. Husband and I got the broccoli pizza, because it's rare to find a place that has that topping and I like it and put it on pizza when I make it at home. Was not terribly hopeful - last couple times we'd found it those places burned the broccoli. Not MHoP. It was perfect. The crust was delicious and the sauce was tasty and there was plenty of it. Obviously no skimping here - there was also plenty of cheese, and the appetizer we ordered for the four of us (onion rings) was huge. It was also delicious, fresh and crisp and nicely flavored. My mom loved her spaghetti (more homemade sauce), and the garlic bread was delicious and strongly seasoned with herbs. Dad's eggplant sub seems to have also been good - it disappeared fast.
Fawn S — Google review
Place is decent for what it is I guess... burger was very bland no seasoning almost resembled a frozen burger from family dollar. pizza is always good, ordered buffalo wings received all drum sticks no dipping sauce wasn't asked if I wanted any either.
BoyZ — Google review
I have never met such nice people in my life. I was camping at a nearby campground with a few friends, and we decided to get some pizza. We stopped by to place an order, and while we were there, we asked if they knew a place in the area where we could get some blankets because someone from our group was cold at night. They told us to check out the place across the street while we waited for our pizza. We checked the place across the street out, but they were sold out of blankets. We came back to pick up our pizza, and the folks at the restaurant asked if we had any luck finding blankets. We told them that the store across the street was sold out. One of the guys working at the restaurant told us that he had a motel in the area, so he asked someone from the restaurant to get some blankets for us. I tried to offer him some money for them, but he refused. I would also say that the pizza was very good. It was also very affordable. If this pizza place was near me, it would be my go to place.

The dough had a great homemade taste, wasn't salty. The sauce tasted great and the toppings tasted fresh! The Gyro was made perfectly and the fries that came with it were piping hot with a delicious crisp on the outside. The people were very friendly, and the environment had a beautiful home feeling.

Subway is a delightful casual dining chain that specializes in customizable sandwiches and salads, catering to health-conscious diners. At the Millinocket location on Central St, guests can indulge in an array of bold flavors alongside classic favorites like their renowned Footlongs and wraps. The restaurant prides itself on providing quick service through various ordering options, including a user-friendly app and online platform.
Ordered ahead online and my sandwiches were waiting for me when I arrived. Everything was good, although my sandwich did have a little topping overflow... but I suppose I did ask for a lot of veggies so really can't complain. :)
Becky N — Google review
Food is fine, but they constantly turn off their online ordering. It is always a gamble when we try to order online. I would seriously say that half the time their online ordering is unavailable and it says they are closed on Google. Weird business model.

Overpriced sandwiches with ever declining food quality. Subway has lost direction at a corporate level and they are destroying a good thing
James D — Google review
I gave your stuff too because they were friendly but when I have to wait for 15 minutes for one person to do five people when there's another person just standing there that's frustrating. I've worked in Food Service I've worked for Subway I don't know what you guys are pulling over there but it's not working. Also corporate your food quality is terrible you need to check it out because I just wanted sandwiches for dinner and I'm not going back for the other two because the one I got the vegetables were so gross you shouldn't be serving them. Rusted lettuce is not standard to serve at a restaurant fast food place you guys need to step it up for the price that we're paying for sandwiches these days it is unacceptable

This place sucks wouldn't let me customize any of my food, then when I wanted to leave and asked for my money back (they charged me before making anything) they wouldn't give my money back, terrible subway please dont come.

By far the best subway I've ever been so fortunate to be able to experience the caring of the staff and the kindness and thoughtfulness the give towards belong their community. The owners have shown us the true meaning of integrity, doing the right thing even when no ones watching. We don't have help to get groceries, so it helps to have people willing to help and go that extra mile so you can eat for the day.

Nestled in the charming town of Millinocket, Hang Wong Restaurant stands out as a delightful spot for those craving authentic Chinese cuisine. This eatery offers generous portions of classic dishes, making it an ideal choice for families looking to switch up their dining routine from typical American fare. With a focus on quick service and friendly staff, patrons can enjoy favorites like General Tso's chicken and dumplings, all at reasonable prices.
Went on a Sunday night and food was great Gen T’so chicken was awesome and the egg drop soup was amazing also. Quiet place. Would definetly hit this place up again.
Neil — Google review
Our regular Chinese restaurant was closed so we ordered from here. We were completely disappointed. The pupu platter wasn't good, the sweet and sour chicken was terrible. The sweet and sour sauce was not sweet, but bitter, the chicken salty and very little in the batter. My rice was forgotten, so we had to go back for it and it ended up being overcooked.
Amy C — Google review
Good Chinese food. Reasonable prices. Good service. The General Tso's chicken and the dumplings are awesome. We get the hot and sour soup almost every time we go there.
Alison E — Google review
Actually we very much enjoyed our meals. We were a bit worried from some of the reviews but found the quality and taste very good. Drinks very affordable a good bonus.
Dave B — Google review
The food did not look or taste how we expected. I'm pretty sure we didn't get what we ordered but we didn't check until we got back to our hotel (that was on us). The person who took our order confirmed multiple times that she added a sauce to our meal but when we got to our room it wasn't there. We would have taken it back but we were exhausted. The woman running it was very kind and the good was cheap. I wouldn't try it again, though.
Jillianne W — Google review
The food here is not very good. We received beef and chicken teriyaki that was really small. We had the same issue with the crab Rangoon. We cannot recommend this restaurant.

Nestled in the heart of Millinocket, the Blue Ox Saloon is a charming bar that offers more than just drinks; it’s a slice of local history. With its eclectic decor and selection of cold beers paired with casual pub fare, it's an ideal spot to relax and soak in the local culture.
This Saloon is a mini museum of all things Maine, a must visit if your from out of town!!! I had my first Maine milkshake ( milk and coffee liqueur) it was delicious 😋 I also ordered food to be delivered from Katadin Gen. Luckily the friendly ox owner had place mats, plates, silver wear, and dressing ( since KGen left out my dressing) The Owner, his dog Jack, and customers were all very welcoming. What a wonderful experience!!

The Blue Ox Saloon, is a cozy small town bar. The bartender and patrons are friendly and willing to chat with people from out of town. The decorations make for an interesting backdrop. It's worth stopping in for a drink when in Millinocket, Maine.

No food offered or seen anywhere. No drink menu. Bartender who looked like she was 15 had to look up a drink on Google and said she didn't know how to make it and didn't have ingredients for a very common and simple drink. Unless you order a beer, straight up shit then don't bother

What a beautiful friendly place that looks after the customer with a friendly smile. Had the Honor to meet "Susan" one of the co-owners of the Blue Ox. The Hospitality of this place is above and beyond any bar or small pub/saloon. The place is a hid-a-way worth the trip to see and worth the time while enjoying the atmosphere.

Loved meeting Tom, the owner/bartender who's an all-around awesome dude. The Blue Ox was the only place in town open late, especially on Sundays/Mondays. I highly recommend anyone passing through the town to go check out the vibes and get a game of pool in! The Ox will not disappoint!

New England Outdoor Center is a lakeside retreat with stunning mountain views, offering a variety of cabins and lodges equipped with Wi-Fi. Visitors can enjoy activities such as wildlife tours on pontoon boats, guided climbs to Baxter Peak summit, and snowmobiling adventures. The location also serves as a picturesque wedding venue, with the River Drivers Restaurant providing delicious food against the backdrop of Mount Katahdin and Millinocket Lake.
I went to NEOC for a weekend snowmobile trip on 2/22. I was very impressed with the property, main building and cabins were perfect. Location is second to none, abutting Millinocket lake. The staff went above and beyond the Service we normally get. Alison was a great help booking our stay, Paige at the front desk was accommodating and delightful. Abby was our waitress for dinner both nights, one guy in our group is very picky, she was patient and spectacular. I can't wait to go back next year.
Bud F — Google review
Absolutely enjoyed our time here on the water. The view of the mountain is incredible and only a minute away. Lots of wood for outdoor fire. A very cozy beautifully finished open-concept cabin we stayed in with all amenities provided. Everything is very well-thought out. The ladies at reception know the area very well and were able to make good recommendations. The pizza at the brewery and the views both from there and the event centre are mesmerizing for prayer and reflection. So grateful!

The staff was exceptional and very fun! Chris, Allison, Jake, James, Alex, Sam Dan, the bus driver, and everyone else that I couldn't remember your names. Thank you for a wonderful first white water rafting experience. It was quite the experience and fun to be in the falls, getting an endless amount of water to the mouth/face. It made my day and really gave me a great experience. Lunch was perfect, so thank you for that much needed pick-me-up. I look forward to seeing you again soon. "Team Penobscot NEOC"

We signed up for the white water rafting. It was worth every penny! We had a great time, and it far surpassed our expectations. I will be doing it again, and I was absolutely blown away by the experience the team at NEOC provided. Make sure to ask for Sam!

My wife and I had never been White Water Rafting, and booked a Penobscot Classic trip, which was a Full Day including a cook out hot meal at lunch mid trip (included). The water was very high due to rain, and the trip was quite amazing! The rapids were a Mixture of difficulties, (Photo shown was a Class V). They also have a half day with lesser rapids. The boat tour guides, Allision and Jake are exceptionally well trained and experienced. The bus drive to the location was spent in part going over all sorts of safety instruction. Prior to departing we worked in the boat as a group on commands and how to navigate. I've been a Paramedic for 24 years, and although I have no experience rafting, I have a lot of experience with stressful situations and quick critical thinking. I can't stress enough how impressed I was with them giving commands and adapting quickly to how the river ultimately moved our boat. The supporting crew took photos and videos of our trip which we could purchase after. These were amazing quality! We can't wait to come back and do another river adventure with them! Highly recommend! If you want a less intense day, these are available. If you want a more intense day, they can do that too. Something for everyone. When you are done, go to the Knife Edge Brewery for personal Pizzas and other foods (not included in rafting experience), amazing overall experience. We will be back!
John G — Google review
Everyone should plan to visit this place more than once in their lives!!! My husband and I just left, but already cannot wait to go back!!! We spent the day white water rafting with Allison and 6 young girls from a summer camp. We got the lay of the land from Allison in the bus on the way to the Exterminator (class v) and then spent time inthe water in the raft learning how to manuver and what she expected from us.... then it was time to start the trip! We were even fed a hot yummy lunch before we headed back out on the water... we experienced Class 5 and 3 and 2 and 4 rapids ... as well as over an hour of just floating down the river. Some of the young girls got out and swam alongside . We even stopped at a natural waterfall that people were sliding down. Part of the river we could see magnificiant Mt Katahdin in the backdrop. 10/10 experience!!!

NEOC gave our crew the most amazing invaluable experience on the Penobscot River!!! Thank you Chris for being the best most personable and professional guide this crew has ever had! We can’t say enough good things about our experience with the staff from NEOC! We will come again for sure!!!

After our AirBnB had to cancel our reservation due to a frozen pipe, NEOC was able to make space for my out-of-town group with less than 24 hours notice. When a pipe froze shortly after arriving at our NEOC cabin, they moved us move to another cabin, including helping to move the gear. The cold weather certainly wasn't their fault and they made the best of it for us. We had questions about the ice fishing and Max not only answered our questions, but when our auger wasn't working, he offered up his own for us to use for the entire 4 days! Everyone we encountered- on the phone, at the restaurants, snowmobile rental, etc., were helpful and generous. These folks are incredibly welcoming and I look forward to staying there in the near future. A true gem in the north woods of Maine!

Chester’s Take-Out is a beloved spot in Millinocket, known for its delicious offerings that cater to both locals and visitors alike. After a challenging hike up Katahdin, many find solace in their menu, which features fresh options like the haddock burger and chicken Caesar wrap—both praised for their taste and generous portions. While some have noted variations in freshness compared to past experiences at other locations, Chester's remains a go-to choice for satisfying meals after outdoor adventures.
At the end of a long, difficult hike up Katahdin the haddock burger and chicken caesar wrap hit the spot! Everything was so fresh+tasty!

Not Chester Chicken at all. And no Gifford's ice cream to be seen in the cooler. Service was grumpy at best. You can do better elsewhere.
Joshua J — Google review
I tried the chicken tenders to go ,which were a great serving size and all white meat . I did have two light meals out of them on my salad at home. I also tried a small ice cream cone. I would like to try the chicken meal next time. I will pass on ice cream although it was good and really creamy I just have a hard time spending 3.50 for a small ice cream when I can buy a package that will last me 10 days for that price.
Carol D — Google review
Had a long wait but well worth it! They ran out of chicken breast but were very accommodating in that they gave extra drumsticks and thighs . Any new place will have glitches that can only be ironed out with time and experience. Keep up the good work!
Rhonda T — Google review
Extremely overpriced! Compared their prices to other chester locations and they are 3X more expensive. The ice cream price was also inflated. Almost $5 for a scoop. They said that they "are not here for the locals. Tourists have no problem paying $5 for a scoop of ice cream." I'm a local so I guess my money isn't wanted.
Matthew M — Google review
I have a couple of questions. Do or did you supply the chicken for a gas station on Stream Road over in Winterport? I used to get that chicken and it was called Chester's and it was delicious. When we tried it again in Millinocket, it wasn't as fresh -- not crisp or hot like we like. My second question is: What is fish Friday? I look forward to coming in again, possibly tomorrow, on 6/1.
Mary M — Google review
The chicken was cooked fresh and it exceeded our expectations in taste and serving size. Would recommend as it is one of only a few restaurants.
Caleb W — Google review
If I could give this place of business a zero I would. Small potions for a family meal, wrong order given on another meal, horrible service horrible food with a 20 minute wait. For just opening they are not giving a good impression in my eyes and the worst 48 dollars I've ever spent. If you want fried chicken that is reasonably priced and good go to Hannaford.

Knife Edge Brewing was more than just excellent! Their handmade pizzas mirrored authentic Italian in all respects. I was stationed in Italy for 5 years, with several return trips afterwards, so I think I can rate pizza quality reasonably well; Thin crust, fresh ingredients, totally delicious. Service was excellent and quick, and the staff very friendly. Oh, and their craft beer selection was good too. Two suggestions for the owners: 1. Place laminated placards by each type of pizza at the Tuesday night pizza buffet table, so that patrons will know what they’re taking; especially if someone has ingredient allergies. 2. The pizza buffet table needs a food warmer above the pizza trays; some of the pizzas were cold. Definitely a place for a return trip.

What a great find! We saw the sign on the main road and decided to check it out: it was a rainy Friday during shoulder season and very quiet. I imagine this place gets packed based on the quality of the food , svc and buildings. Meghan was great to us! Definitely coming back for, the food and beer was great!

Knife Edge Brewing and Pizza is an absolute gem for anyone who loves great food and craft beer. From the moment you walk in, the welcoming atmosphere and laid-back vibe set the tone for a perfect meal. Their pizza is truly outstanding — hand-tossed with a crispy, flavorful crust and topped with fresh, quality ingredients. Whether you go for a classic like pepperoni or one of their creative specialty pies, you won’t be disappointed. Each bite delivers that perfect balance of textures and flavors you hope for in a great pizza. Equally impressive is their lineup of house-brewed beers. From bold IPAs to smooth stouts and refreshing lagers, there’s something on tap for every taste. You can tell the brewers take pride in their craft, and it shows in every pour. The staff is knowledgeable about both the food and the brews, always ready with a recommendation to pair with your meal. It’s the kind of place where you can hang out with friends, enjoy a casual date night, or relax after a day of exploring the area. Excellent service, unbeatable pizza, and top-tier beers make Knife Edge Brewing a standout. I’ll definitely be back!

We have a camp nearby and have been here several times. In he summer we have enjoyed meals with our sons/ grandchildren and in winter my husband stops by for coffee and a snack while cross country skiing. While I know it can get very busy with escalated wait times, we have not experienced this as we tend to come on slower days of the week (not the weekend). The food has always been delicious- great pizza and wings, cheesy bread is awesome too. While we don’t drink, my sons have enjoyed the beer. The atmosphere is great- we enjoyed playing corn hole outside while waiting for our pizza on our most recent visit and have enjoyed live music in the past. Staff has always been pleasant and efficient. After eating dinner here a few nights ago, my granddaughter wanted to stop here again for a post-rafting snack with her Dad. Unfortunately, when they came out to leave, they noticed they had a flat tire. As my son began to change the tire to his temporary spare, a kind gentleman offered his help. He went back to his house, got a plug kit and plugged the tire, allowing them to return to camp with less chance of another issue with a temporary tire. As it turns out, the kind gentleman was the owner- you don’t get better customer service than that. Thank you! We will be coming to Knife Edge (and River Drivers Restaurant- same ownership) for years to come- quality food, quality people.

After 21 years of living deep in the woods two hours west, I finally made the trip over to Millinocket to check out the culture—and I’m so glad I did. When I walked in, I was the only patron, yet I was greeted with a warm smile and impressive knowledge of the menu and brews. It’s rare to find a place where service holds the same standard during slow hours as it would at peak times, but this place nailed it. I ordered a pie and a session beer, which turned out to be one of the smoothest, most enjoyable pours I’ve had in a long while. Stepping out to the patio, I found myself surrounded by crickets and birdsong—a peaceful setting with picnic tables, a firepit, and even cornhole for when things pick up. Then came the pizza. Honestly, I wasn’t prepared for how good it would be. The presentation alone was professional, but the flavor, smoothness, and balance of it all made it easily the best pizza I’ve ever eaten. This brewery is a gem—beautiful building, thoughtful staff, and a team clearly passionate about what they’re doing. Cheers to them for creating such an amazing experience. I’ll be back, and I highly recommend making the trip.

This pizza was terrible, no flavor at all…I paid for extra cheese and hardly any on there for 2 bucks more. Vegetables are 2 dollars additional for like 5 small leaves of spinach. Soggy and not crispy pizza. The sauce is SWEET! Y I guess if you like sweet soggy over priced trendy pizza then this is your place to go. P.S the 17 dollar wings were absolutely disgusting. 68 dollars down the drain. Very cute place prob for a beer and scenery but stay far far away from the food.

When asked if they had their peppermint back in season. They said yes. Then I followed up with can I get a white chocolate peppermint mocha. They asked what size, I said 16oz.. they went silent, realizing their menu is S/M/L they probably don’t know what oz cups they have. So I made it simple and ordered a Medium… they gave me a price, I paid then asked if the coffe they gave me was espresso or drip…. They said drip🤦‍♀️ Last time I checked a Mocha is made with espresso not drip…… why don’t people take the time to train their employees so they don’t waste other people’s time and money. So frustrating….. uggggggg

I stopped by for a small coffee on my way up to northern Maine. I ordered from my DD app right at the counter. The young man who was waiting on me didn't know the address, even the street name, of his store to confirm that I was sending my order to the right one. I ordered a small hot decaf. He brought me an iced coffee. I reminded him that I had ordered a hot coffee. He looked at my ticket and agreed. He took my cup back behind the counter and returned with a hot cup. As I left the store, I sipped my coffee. It was cold! He had simply taken the cold coffee and put it in a hot cup! At this point, I had invested way too much time (and money) in this coffee so I kept on walking. But I hope I'm never at that Dunkin Donuts again!

This D&D is just terrible. At times I get the wrong item. They are also very slow and I mean slow. On Saturday 09/29/18.i stopped and decided to go in to order. I was the only customer, I went to the counter. There were 3 people working. No one even knowledge the fact that I was standing there. I can also see the drive up window, no one there. I stood there for aprox. 3 mins.then asked if someone had time to take my order. One young man said he could in a min. So I stood there yet another 2 mins. At that time I decided that 5 mins waiting was long enough with no service,so I left the building. I was quite upset and have not returned. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has had issues like this.
