The Jordan Pond House Restaurant is a historic stop known for its tea with popovers and jam, as well as larger meals that offer a view of the pond and mountains. Situated along the Park Loop Road, visitors can drive through the park and make stops at various attractions such as overlooks, beaches, horse and carriage ride stables, hiking paths, gardens, and museums.
One of my favorite meals during my visit to Maine. Had reservations for dinner on the last day of the season 10/26. And although the menu was extremely limited and we were the absolute last table being served, it did not affect the level of service and quality of meal. Our server Jackson was super nice and knowledgeable. The popovers are a MUST (so good!) The chicken caesar wrap was perfect👌🏻, the grilled cheese was an elevated version and delicious🙌🏻! And the side of chips completely complimented the meals👍🏻 Also loved how cozy and welcoming the entire dining area was and the picturesque view of Jordan Pond 🫶🏻 Highly recommend making reservations and checking out this dining experience when visiting Acadia National Park! (Check seasonal hours of operation before showing up!!)

After hiking all afternoon — finishing with a beautiful 3.7-mile loop around Jordan Pond — we were ready to refuel and had zero desire to drive back into town. With mild skepticism, we decided to try the Jordan Pond House right there in the park… and we were pleasantly surprised! They seated us right away (despite the dinner rush) by a window overlooking the lake — the kind of view that makes you instantly forget your sore legs. Our server, a friendly and funny student from Eastern Europe working for the summer, was a highlight: attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely enjoyable to talk with. We shared the Spinach Bacon Blue Cheese Salad, New England Baked Haddock with mashed potatoes and veggies, Lobster Stew, and of course, the famous Popover Sundae. Everything was excellent — my husband ranked their stew (bisque) in his top two of the entire trip, and the Popover Sundae? Pure indulgence, the kind that makes you consider hiking another 3 miles just to justify it. My Lavender Honey Bee gin cocktail was so good I happily ordered a second round. Ending our hike at Jordan Pond House turned out to be a perfect choice — beautiful trail, great meal, sunset views, and happy bellies.

We decided on a walk around Jordan Pond after a dinner in town when the crowds were gone for the day and parking was easier. I hadn't made reservations for lunch or dinner here knowing we were here at the busiest time of year, but I was interested in seeing the restaurant. We had reservations for sunset on Cadillac Mountain and decided to stop in for dessert before we headed up. Dimitar was our very kind and warm server and the other staff were also friendly and warm. The restaurant was quiet at this point after the dinner rush and we were able to appreciate rhe history of the place while waiting for our dessert. The popover sundae we had heard so much about was delicious- big enough that I am glad we decided to split one, though. Definitely recommend saving room for dessert or coming here for just this, as we did. On our next trip to Acadia I would love to have lunch outside. Highly recommend stopping here for the history, service, and food. And the gift shop! Lots of great stuff there, too.
Jackie A — Google review
Came here for dinner and it was delicious. We shared some lobster bisque, clam chowder, lobster Mac and cheese and lobster roll. Everything was really good. The drinks were really good too. We sat outside and the view was amazing. We were served by Lucky who did a great job of making us feel good. Whilst the food is expensive, we thought that it made up for itself and the service was great. In particular you cannot miss the popovers. They are amazing and taste great with butter and jam.
Lachlan P — Google review
We wanted to stop here while in Acadia, and we thought it would be neat. We weren't sure about the popovers, they seemed like a novelty. After dining here, I realized that you cannot skip this, and popovers are amazing. The regular popovers are light and fluffy and go well with the strawberry jam and butter. The chicken pot pie was one of the best I've ever had, and slapping it in a popover instead of crust was inspired. For drinks, we went with the herbal blueberry iced tea and the blueberry lemonade, of course. Both were delightful. We sat in the restaurant around 11 am on the Friday before Labor Day, and only had a 15 minute wait. Don't try to go at peak times, aim for just before or after.
Derrick W — Google review
Hands down the BEST popovers and strawberry jam! Popover Pot Pie was also AMAZING! I got this half turkey sandwich on rye w lentil soup. It was flavorful and delicious. The sandwich didn't come toasted which I was expecting but it was actually good soft and more cold as is. So no complaints there. I recommend getting the thousand island on the side which was very tasty! Actually it was kinda nice to have a cold turkey sandwich with a warm flavorful bursting lentil soup. Highly recommend. I would go back in a heartbeat! Please please make a reservation!! I made mine months ago and SO glad I did! One of the first people to be seated at 11am when they open! Also don't be alarmed with the huge line!! If you have a res, move yourself over to the left and you will be seated!! The line is for folks who are trying to "walk in" without a res. The service and quality of food really was spectacular! We would've sat outside bc of the gorgeous weather and view but opted out since there were lots of bees. There is also a gift shop here that is worth checking out. The prices are high so be warned. I thought the prices at the restaurant was reasonable. Two popovers for $10. I am going to check out their new popover cocktail bar hopefully tomorrow! This is first come first serve, no reservations but if all you want are popovers this is a good option! Thank you for the lovely experience! Will be back!

Parking was difficult but I’m glad we were patient and found a place to park, so we could enjoy the Jordan Pond House Restaurant. The place was packed but our wait to be seated was only 20-minutes. We were able to take an amazing selfie from the upper observation deck. I particularly enjoyed the Jordan Pond House lobster stew and warm popovers.
Pam M — Google review
The popover pot pie was good, menu said there were potatoes in it, there were not. By far the best clam chowder I’ve had. The clams were not chewy at all. The lobster stew was so good. All was very hot with great flavor. Had the popover sundae with blueberry ice cream. We both highly recommend this. It was very good. We did have a 35 minute wait but it was worth it. The service wasn’t great, but they were busy. The atmosphere and view more than made up for any issues. Overall we would definitely go back.

Nestled in the quaint town of Bernard, Thurston's Lobster Pound is a seasonal, family-run restaurant offering a quintessential Maine dining experience. The rustic charm of this establishment adds to its authentic coastal atmosphere, with picturesque harbor views and the opportunity to watch lobstermen unload their daily catch. Known for serving fresh and succulent lobster and crab dishes caught off Bass Harbor, Thurston's provides an idyllic setting for indulging in a feast of seafood delights.
Great place to get fresh lobster with a great view and vibe. Plenty of outdoor seating to view the water and lobster boats. Rolls were pretty reasonably priced compared to others on MDI and tasted the most fresh. I will say the lobster roll did but use a lot of mayo or other seasoning to let the lobster shine through, I can see this being a good thing or a bad thing depending on preference. Overall a great experience and it was cool to see the fresh lobsters up close!
Jack D — Google review
Our favorite lobster rolls in Acadia (and we tried a LOT)! The short wait was totally worth it for the jumbo lobster roll — it was fresh, delicious, and the price was extremely reasonable compared to the other lobster rolls nearby. We weren’t the biggest fans of the steamers or mussels (they were a bit too salty for us), but the blueberry cobbler dessert was phenomenal and we were shocked with how big the portion was for just $6. Wish we lived closer so we could come here all the time!

We were staying in Bar Harbor. Our friends told us we had to check out this place. I'm so glad we did. The food was excellent, the staff friendly, and the atmosphere exactly as you would expect. We travel to the East Coast every year. This is now a must stop on our trip. We sat outside and enjoyed a very leisurely early dinner.
Patrick T — Google review
Awesome place. Great service set up but you need to navigate the restaurant, multi levels, before you order. Downstairs dining is the hidden dream. Lobster Melt is delicious, the beef chili is awesome, the potato salad was perfect yet a very small portion. Corn in Maine is too good! Burger was good. The views and happenings of the lobster boats coming in over the top!
Murfam L — Google review
The best lobster pound in the Southwest Harbor area! We were in the area for five days and Thurston’s was the best lobster pound we found. The line was long and we almost didn’t stay…SO glad we did. We had the lobster roll and the fresh local crab roll (special). Everything was so good and the service was great! You’re literally right on the water so the atmosphere is as rustic and authentic as it gets. We are at Beals our first night in the area and we felt like Thurstons was way better. Get the jumbo lobster roll and ask for butter on the side—trust me! Don’t miss this spot!
Ted Y — Google review
We had a great time. We got there just before they opened at noon and waited in a small line until they let people in. We are glad we did because we were able to get a great spot on the deck overlooking the bay. Lobster was great, drinks were as well but were pretty pricey in my opinion.
Duane J — Google review
Great place to enjoy the waterfront and fresh seafood. Wait service is only delivery and window order is a prerequisite to sitting. Prices are aligned with the demographics. 20% tip is, in my opinion, too much for service received. That said, the meal was good.
Paula J — Google review
I absolutely recommend Thurston's if you want some good food with a great view. The staff was super helpful with food allergy concerns, so I felt confident eating there. The total time between ordering and receiving our food was less than 10 minutes which is a plus. We got the crab cake sandwhich and hamburger. Both were very good, but it was a bit on the pricey side. Overall we liked it and would visit agian.

Beal's Lobster Pier is a must-visit spot on Mount Desert Island, offering a relaxed waterfront setting to savor the best of Maine's seafood. This historic establishment in Southwest Harbor provides an authentic experience as guests indulge in freshly caught lobster, steamed and fried clams, and fries while overlooking the harbor. The picturesque location allows visitors to watch lobster boats coming and going as local fishermen unload their catch.
Stopped for lunch here while we visited Southwest Harbor. We loved this place. Their location right on the water is awesome! We really enjoyed the fish tacos (both blackened & fried). Staff was friendly and the service was very quick. We even did their lobster trap shot which was fun! Would definitely go back & recommend to anyone visiting the area.

If you’re looking for a scenic place to eat lobster in an authentic environment, this is it! We recommend making a reservation ahead of time as we were able to skip a very long line and go straight to order at the counter. We tried the butter lobster roll, seared scallops, lobster stew, and fried shrimp. Lobster was tender and brioche roll was nice and buttery. Shrimp were a generous portion and very flavorful. Lobster stew was too sweet for our tastes. Scallops were fresh and tender, but not a standout. Our food came out very quickly. Blueberry soda is a must try but note you can find that around the island. Great spot to sit on the water and make sure to check out the deck on the back.
Comede E — Google review
A super cool experience but the food didn’t live up to the service, atmosphere or reputation. The service was outstanding from the guy at the lobster tank to the wait staff and bussers, everyone was super friendly and genuinely cared about the experience. The atmosphere almost can’t be beat. You’re literally on the pier. Great views of the harbor and sunset. Unfortunately the food wasn’t the best. We had a whole boiled lobster meal and a lobster roll. The roll was ok. It was over soaked with butter so the bread was soggy. The onion rings were cold. The lobster was not the best. It was filled with water which made eating it on the little paper plate they serve it in a mess. The corn on the cob was disgusting. The cole slaw was flavorless. The cornbread was good, but sweet which I know isn’t for everyone. Service and atmosphere made up for the food but if you’re looking for a great lobster pound meal, I found Thurstons to be much better.

Wow! What a find! My husband and I had a delicious dinner here during our vacation in Bar Harbor the week after the 4th of July. This is an order at the counter and food is brought to your table kind of place. Although, I have seen that there is a dining room you can select for table service as well, but that was not our experience. We spent a few minutes taking in the menu and specials and chatting with employees and asking a few questions. They were all very pleasant. We ordered the fried shrimp appetizer, the Buttermilk fried chicken with watermelon pico de gallo special, and a Connecticut style lobster roll with fries. Typical prices for the area - around $80 with tax before tip. We were seated outside overlooking the water and had a lovely view while waiting for our food. I suggest trying to get a table that allows for the scenery; it really added to our experience. Our food was absolutely incredible! The fried shrimp were crispy and the shrimp was well cooked and not rubbery at all. Our lobster roll was one of the best we had over the course of our vacation. It was fairly well filled and very yummy. The unexpected star was the fried chicken sandwich. I admit I had never had watermelon pico prior and we enjoyed it so much that now we make it at home! The chicken was exactly how I like it - thin, crispy, and still juicy. Overall, this dinner was really really good and I highly recommend trying this plzce for yourself.

We really enjoyed the full Maine lobster experience here. GREAT food, excellent prices and the real harbor feel. The wife ordered a salad and added lobster. I ordered the jumbo lobster roll (and it was) and a small order of onion rings. I’m not sure they could have done anything to make it better. We enjoyed our meal under one of their market umbrellas. A wonderful treat. We will be back.
Jimmy L — Google review
Read about Beal’s in “Outside” magazine as best lobster rolls and view, and I agree. Standard portion lobster roll made a great lunch and the bag of chips is large enough to share. Lobster was high quality and buttery. They also offer a gluten free bun which has a nice texture. Meal arrived quickly after ordering, much appreciated by this hungry hiker who has been exploring Acadia NP. Worth the short trip to the Southwest Harbor.
Lisa M — Google review
While the food was fresh and good, it lacked seasoning in general. The lobster bites lost out to the fried breading, as did the clams. The kids' portions were adequately sized and priced. The 4 scallop appetizer for $19 lacked sear and seasoning. A cup of fried clams for $20 was underwhelming. The upstairs was nice and clean with great views of the coastguard and harbor. The tartar sauce was on point, and the lobster tacos were amazing.
James L — Google review
Beal’s is an amazing place to try fresh lobster! First, the food was delicious. My family ordered a lobster to share with several sides, and the blueberry pie with ice cream for dessert. Each dish was excellent! Additionally, customer service was amazing! The lobster we chose just happened to have eggs inside, and Matt, a worker there, was kind enough to provide another lobster for us and check in regularly to make sure everything was okay with our meal. It is clear that the staff genuinely care about the experiences of customers. Finally, as for the atmosphere, it is casual, so it’s a great place to visit after a hike. There is seating outside and in a patio. Overall, Beal’s is a must-have experience on the island!

Sips Cafe is a fun and lively American restaurant in SW Harbor which offers inventive salads, risottos, crepes and pastas as well as delicious appetizers. Good cocktails and live music (usually blues or country) complete the perfect evening out.
Absolutely loved this place we were walking by and decided to stop such a great choice! Service was great loved our waitress! The margarita was perfect! Our salad was amazing! Think it was called the island salad. The BLT was delicious pita chips were yummmmm love loved it all! Inside was nice we sat outside which was just as awesome. I got a lavender lemonade Togo it was SO TASTY! If we’re ever back through here we will stop again!

I was too hungry and forgot to take a picture of my meal before I ate it, so I apologize for the half eaten meal photo. It was very busy at the restaurant, but we were able to get seated right away. Our food came out at a timely matter. I was a little worried with how busy it was. I ordered the fresh squeezed orange juice, which was tastey! I ordered the prime rib hash, which was not too bad. It was a little salty for my liking. My over easy eggs turned out fine and toast was toast. Friendly service. Nothing to brag about the restaurant. It was fine for what it was.
Christiana W — Google review
Sips is clean, comfortable and delicious! The staff is very attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. I had the chicken marsala & my husband had the Sips meatloaf-both were phenomenal!

Not only the best meals we had on the island, but the best breakfast/lunch place we’ve ever been to! The atmosphere is awesome, it’s the got the small cafe vibes working really well. They have amazing tea and coffee drinks (try the whipped coffee!). We ate here 3 days in a row because we couldn’t get enough! Even if you’re in Bar Harbor, you’ve got to stop by and try a local favorite ✅

Wonderful place for a decadent dinner. Friendly staff that makes you feel at home. Delicious risotto. Melt in your mouth lemon blueberry cake. Fabulous live music.
Sarah K — Google review
I cannot believe I deviated my path and spent 90min of my road trip just to come here, because the place was labeled as “seafood” at Trip Advisor... The good news: they follow the pandemic rules to the letter. That’s it. The service is awfully slow (for a completely empty restaurant) and the server let our prepared food get cold. My daughter and I had the only fish dishes available (see receipt) and they were bland, unseasoned, and not memorable. Not fresh catch either. The beef skewer appetizer was ridiculously small (the meat has no seasoning). The mash potatoes had no salt either. Believe, you can spend US 60 in a supermarket ready-to-go or frozen food. The setting is unremarkable (tiny place) and only o e table outside.
Paulo M — Google review
It is cool place n I like the atmosphere. Food was good although i did nt like mine that much n prefer more taste n spice in. Staff did they job as expected but still can be more friendly. In general its a good place for breakfast. They serve food during the day as well
Arash D — Google review
Nice, homey mom and pop style local spot. Had the seafood chowder, apple chevre salad, and lobster crepe with scampi sauce. All solid, straightforward, tasty dishes. The crepe was stuffed with big chunks of fresh juicy lobster. Claw meat, tail meat, everything you want to see. If you twist my arm for criticisms, I'd say that the crepe itself was not the most delicate, the salad was not some revolution from the garde manger, and the chowder isn't going to make history. Despite any of that I left feeling very satisfied and I would happily go back.

Red Sky Restaurant is a warm and refined bistro that offers creative American cuisine using French techniques and local ingredients. The dining room features yellow walls, white tablecloths, and a white brick fireplace, while the small bar provides a cozy setting. The menu includes dishes like lobster risotto with asparagus, maple-glazed baby back ribs, and inventive appetizers such as house-made duck and pork sausage with pear, rhubarb, and raspberry chutney.
We had an amazing vegetarian experience here! Thanks for making some of the dishes vegan! The food, staff, and atmosphere were wonderful! We do hope they will consider adding more vegan proteins to the menu. Thanks again for a terrific experience 😊

Our first night in Maine we were referred to Red Sky for dinner. Thankfully we were able to get a reservation last minute. Our dining experience was absolutely fantastic. The staff are beyond professional and courteous while the atmosphere is unique. Oddly enough, you feel like you might be dining in a different country just based on the European vibes. The food was absolutely spectacular, highly recommend the mussels starter and the lobster risotto. 10/10

Booked a reservation at this place on a whim and what a surprise. Everything about it—food, service, and ambiance — was first rate. Far better than I thought I had any right to expect in a little place in Southwest Harbor Maine. You could drop this place with the staff they have in Manhattan and they’d hold their own. And while everything is good: get the duck breast.
Edward W — Google review
My wife and I had a great evening dining experience at Red Sky. The food was excellent and the service was first class. Our host was kind enough to give us a reservation for the next day and she accepted to put us at a very nice table by the window. I really recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Southwest Harbor. You will have a great time 👍🏼 (take the time to call and reserve in advance, as the dining room is fairly small).

My husband and I had a wonderful dinner at Red Sky last night. The pale yellow walls highlight colorful paintings by local artists, creating a relaxed yet upscale atmosphere. Diners ranged from casually dressed to more formal. We enjoyed excellent martinis, delicious appetizers, and a perfectly prepared main course—followed by a dessert we couldn’t resist. The flavors, featuring local ingredients, were outstanding. Service was impeccable—attentive without hovering. One of the best dining experiences we’ve had in a long time. Highly recommended!

By far the best meal we had on the island… definitely one of the best meals ever period. From the service to the homemade table bread (which by itself was off the charts amazing) this was a world class experience in a cozy setting. 10/10 would recommend. Thank you for a delicious meal!

Can’t say enough fantastic things about this restaurant and the staff. This dinner was definitely the standout of all our meals from our trip to Maine. James personally came over to our table to go through our food allergies which was so appreciated. Really kind, lovely people and a great establishment. The care for the food and the customer really shines through. Highlights include the ribs, lobster risotto, lamb, mussels, and scallops. All the best and love from NYC!

Not sure what the deal is on this place. We had 8pm reservations and arrived 5 min early and they told us to wait outside even though there were tables available. We were then informed that their signature dish - lobster risotto was not an option. Apparently they were sold out of their most popular dish. We compromised with the cod. At 9:19, out fish finally arrived and it was bland. We quickly ate and got out of there. $200 later. Not recommended !!

This was the CUTEST little place with such amazing service, food and atmosphere. My husband and I chose this spot on a whim when we first arrived in Southwest Harbor after an 11 hour drive to get here. We needed dinner and we took a chance on this place and we are so glad we did! We were both obsessed with our experience from start to finish. Our server, Liz, was incredible. We highly recommend this hidden gem!

Stopped by because of a recommendation and had a lovely dinner. Returned for breakfast a couple days later and it was perfect - would rate it six stars if I could. Whatever is in the breakfast potatoes will fill your belly and your soul. Special thanks to Ana, our server for both dinner and breakfast, who was a huge part of falling in love with this place.

An underrated stop for dinner!! Skip all the others in town and go here I promise you the name makes it seem like a casual sandwich shop but they have a ton of great options that were 10/10! There was a bit of a wait but for good reason so make sure you secure a reservation if you can. For how packed it was they were still so efficient and ran things very well. Everything was well timed. We were both in the mood for burgers and they were SO tasty and perfectly cooked. Drinks & apps were great (we got the bruschetta and coconut shrimp, both delish), and the dessert was this tasty blueberry cobbler like dish with awesome whipped cream on top. Would go back here if ever in town!!

The best meal we had in Maine. Lobster ravioli and the haddock. Amazing! And service was top notch with our waitress giving a great wine recommendation. Also is a coffee shop which we enjoyed in the daytime. Truly surprised there is anything but 5 stars… can’t wait to come back!

Spent a week on MDI and this might have been our favorite restaurant of the trip! Was there while they were only serving the breakfast menu but it was soooo good. One of their specials we tried was a brunch stuffed pepper that our server recommended and it was 10/10!
Joni P — Google review
Was the only place open at around 3pm on a Tuesday. Apparently had to sit outside because they were on a break before dinner. Not sure why the seating made a difference. Server seemed to be confused at the concept of tasting a salad dressing before ordering. When my son was trying to ask for a certain set of vegetables the server complained saying he just needed to know what we DIDN'T want on it. Then when we ordered a salad we told him what we didn't want on that, but the server complained again saying 'what DO you want on it? '. Very confusing and annoying. Food was tasty and portion size was good, but we'll never be back.

This is a popular local spot known for its delicious Mediterranean-American-diner inspired menu and cuisine. They offer a variety of fresh pita wraps 🫓salads 🥙entrees, often featuring locally sourced ingredients. The casual atmosphere makes it a great place to grab a quick bite after exploring the beautiful bar harbor area and the light house. It has quite a few vegetarian 🌱 options. We ordered the chefs special tomato basil soup with grilled cheese sandwich, followed by the Mediterranean platter 🥗, the vegan burger 🍔with a side of house fries🍟 They also have a large selection of home made desserts that you must try, I really wanted to try their blueberry 🫐 stuffed pancakes 🥞 but they didn’t have it that day. The interiors of this joint is very vintage and rustic, they have a large selection of local 🍺 and wines 🍷that they offer. The staff is friendly and welcoming, the portion sizes are large enough to feed 2 people per dish. Loved everything that we ordered.

Batson River Fish Camp is a charming waterfront restaurant located behind The Claremont Hotel. It offers a selection of creative dishes and New England favorites, including light bites, burgers, salads, and their renowned lobster roll. The restaurant has an easy-going vintage fishing camp aesthetic and features both indoor and outdoor seating with blankets available for chilly weather. Guests can enjoy the incredible views while savoring craft beers or signature cocktails made with spirits distilled in southern Maine.
I ALMOST didn’t stop by because of the overall reviews and I’m glad I didn’t. We’re familiar with batson river and shocked this place only has 4.1 stars. This was a pleasant experience. Beautiful views. Good food. Had the Korean BBQ wings. Nice mix of sweet/spicy. Also had the caprese sandwich. The chicken was very tender. My drink was also pretty good! Had two of the shipwrecked. It’s a good drink if you like island flavors like coconut and passion fruit. Our server was nice and attentive. Overall would recommend. A side note, you do have to go through the hotel to get to the restaurant.

Food was decent, cocktails were good - but you really come here for the dockside views… Lobster beignets were more breading than lobster, fish tacos were fresh, French fries were well seasoned. Service felt a little slow considering it wasn’t too busy. Likely more lively during peak season.
Daniel — Google review
I find although the food is good the portions are pretty small. I ordered salad with lobster today and it was quite a small salad like a side salad. I asked for extra dressing because there was literally none on the salad. The side of dressing was so scant you should be embarrassed! We asked for more and were told they were afraid they would run out! Not acceptable you can do much better for what clientele you're catering to. C'mon Also the lobster rolls are inconsistent with portion and quality. The service has been very good and the view is breath taking but you can't ride the coattails of that with food not on par with the atmospheres and offerings.

Really wanted to love this place, because we live in Portland and love their other Batson River location, but we left feeling very “meh” after spending over $120 for 2 people. Pros: The waterfront views are stunning, we walked in without a reservation at 7pm on a summer night and there was no wait. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and let us switch to a table right on the water when it became available. I got the burger and thought it was great! Cons: My wife got a salad and added shrimp, and the portion was laughably tiny. It looked like a side salad, she got 3 pieces of shrimp, and it cost $25. We also ordered chicken wings as our starter, and they forgot to put the order in their system. Eventually they came out after we’d already finished our entrees, which we normally wouldn’t have wanted, but my wife was still starving after that salad so it all worked out. There were lots of other hotel guests there with kids because this is the more casual and family-friendly dining option at the Claremont, and unfortunately it felt like chaos. We love kids, but there were at least 5 kids from 2-3 different parties who were running and screaming on the dock & beach below for the entire 1.5hrs we were there, so we didn’t get the serene waterfront vibes we were hoping for. Not the restaurant’s fault at all, just something to be aware of in case you’re looking for a romantic date night vibe. It was a convenient option and the views were gorgeous, but I wouldn’t make the trip out here if you’re not staying in SW Harbor, especially because the parking is extremely limited. Go to the Claremont’s other restaurant, Little Fern!

We used to consistently bring 5 - 8 people to Fish camp by boat twice a week. The portions were perfect and the atmosphere/view cannot be beat. Their peanut butter pie was by far the best we've ever had, but that got cut from the menu. Service has always been friendly and quick. This year (ordering the same meals we ordered last year) the portions have been cut in half, and the menu has decreased in options. It's still very good, but everyone left hungry. We have gone back only a few times this summer to see if any course corrections have been made from other similar reviews, but haven't noticed any changes. We're locals, and we love the atmosphere and setting of Fish camp, but they are missing out on a lot of business. Bring back peanut butter pie!! :o) - Crew of the SSPF

My wife and I had lunch here, and the experience was just ok. I got the burger and my wife got the lobster roll. The lobster roll was very good, although it was a bit pricey. The burger was probably the worst burger I've had in years, but was priced like a gourmet burger from a high end restaurant. I certainly expected more from a restaurant associated with The Claremont. The service was good overall. The view of the lake as you eat is probably the number one selling point of this restaurant, which was great. However the atmosphere suffered from the music being a bit too loud.

Food was good to great. Located off the beautiful Claremont Hotel - on the water with wonderful views. I think we came at a shift change and waited more than 20 min for our check. Otherwise it was a cool place to visit while out of town. The crab cakes were to die for!

Had a fantastic time at this place. I’ve been coming to MDI for years and the quality of service at this place is extraordinary. The bar was superbly clean and the atmosphere was everything I would want from a bar downeast. Our beautiful bar tender McKenzie was incredibly approachable and hospitable, she was such a joy to be around. The double rainbow we saw outside the bar was beautiful but not nearly as beautiful as her. She really made our experience there absolutely exceptionally unique and amazing. 10/10 will be returning.

Little Fern, located in The Claremont Hotel, is a popular dining spot offering a mix of seasonal creations and New England favorites. The restaurant takes advantage of local ingredients to create an ever-changing menu that showcases the flavors of the region. With its beautiful backdrop of Somes Sound, Little Fern is a favorite among both guests and locals. While some visitors have had issues with seating and service, many praise the delicious food, particularly the rich seafood pappardelle.
We ate at The Fern restaurant at the Claremont Inn. It was fantastic as always. They have a wonderful wine selection and two bars for before and after dinner drinks. Outstanding wait staff. Very well run front of the house. We had a halibut entree and a curry dish with noodles, shrimp and scallops, which was large enough for two! And blueberry bread pudding, OMG good.

Hasan was a very nice waiter! We ate both breakfast and dinner here. If you have accommodations I recommend letting them know in advance. The mushroom was delicious!!!

We had a wonderful meal at Little Fern. Service started a bit slow; was about 10 minutes before anyone came to take our drink order, however our server was very apologetic and very attentive afterwards. Cocktails were on point. Courses had a fine dining presentation but still approachable with decent portions. Great views and not stuffy at all. Will definitely be back someday!

Lovely meal and a beautiful setting oceanfront excellent food. The chef was a little rigid about those green peas in the pasta dish, but there was a good alternative for this vegetarian. All the help seems to be imported.exceptional Roasted garlic bread.

This restaurant was fantastic. Clearly someone with serious talent is overseeing the menu and food preparation. Easily on par with high end places you would find in New York, Philadelphia and Boston. Excellent presentation, careful balance of flavors and interesting combinations make for an enjoyable experience. Several couples were there celebrating their birthdays and it was actually a nice break to hear the staff sign to each of them over the course of the meal. Service was attentive and very professional. Again, someone with an haute cuisine background has been training the staff well. Not cheap but definitely worth the money. The octopus appetizer was probably the most delicious I have ever had. The Thai curry seafood bowl was also out of this world. First time having Maine lobster mixed with coconut milk. Wonderful! The watermelon salad looked like a piece of art. Don’t miss the blueberry crème brûlée!

Quiet, elegant, and waspy w a twist of disco music playing during dinner, little fern was a delightful meal full of sophisticated entrees mixed with an eclectic palette inspired internationally. Our waiter Lancelot was a charming gentle man who saw that each item came exactly how we wanted. Our martinis were bone dry, our appetizers were timely, and our entrees superb. I asked for some kick added to my curry and boy did they ever. Combined w my deep red wine, I nearly broke a sweat! 😅 In all Little Fern is a little fantasy get away to where Missy and Bunny oft come for holiday w their beaus.

If you're looking for a place with a nice ambience and for a romantic/quiet dinner, THIS IS NOT that place. The food was nothing to write home about, and the service nothing special. Indeed, our waitress was also serving as the restaurant's bartender! What was most disappointing though, was the atmosphere, which was equivalent to what you might expect in a rowdy Sports Bar on a Friday/Saturday evening. There appears to no managerial oversight, and the entire staff, from the restaurant to the front desk appear to lack any kind of enthusiasm to engage with their clientele. Perhaps they all think the location is sufficient to satisfy their guests, they definitely don't seem to care or bother about enhancing the experience, quite the opposite.
TJ M — Google review
Let me start by starting with the positives and there are plenty. The service from the woman behind the bar was amazing and she made a killer espresso martini. The atmosphere was very sophisticated and delicate, creating a calm environment. The food was amazing, my partner and I were both happy with how our food came out. Unfortunately the food does fall short in terms of prices. $40 something dollars for maybe 2-4oz of halibut over maybe a half cup of risotto is quite extreme. I understand quality over quantity and from what I got it was definitely of quality. For $40 dollars I expected at least more risotto or some extra greens. On my way home I ended up getting more food to satiate myself. Overall take: Very enjoyable experience, we were catered do very well. I would have preferred if portions were larger.

Sawyer's Market has gained popularity for its wonderful staff and stock. The store focuses on offering local delicacies, such as the delicious tempah wrap and beet goat cheese sandwich, along with a large blueberry muffin that lasts for days. They source their breads, vegetables, and other food items locally and also offer fresh homemade soup. The market is known for its well-curated selection of local produce, meats, dairy products, and sundries at fair prices.
A great newly reopened store with some wonderful additions. Focusing on local, the produce is wonderful, and I’m loving seeing some packaged favorites as well as learning of yummy new brands. Really appreciate labeling items vegan and gluten-free. Looking forward to seeing things grow. Very happy to have this option on our side of the island!

Local epicurean upscale market. Very different than my childhood’s Sawyers of the ‘90s! Went looking for milk and they only have raw, unpasteurized milk. I am cool with that, but it’s that kind of place. Won’t have everything, but it may unveil local desires you didn’t even know you had.

Lots of fresh local goods, beers, wines, coffee and ready to go sandwiches that were a bit pricey but very filling and delicious.

Nice variety, but pricey! Beautiful presentation of fruits and veggies. Gotta love the Uber expensive Canadian strawberries. Definitely the best, juiciest strawberries to be found, but I'll wait till I'm back in NB to enjoy them at $2.99 Canadian.

Sawyer's Market is becoming more and more appreciated. The staff and stock are wonderful. Last year they were getting their feet on the ground. This season we visit them often for local delicates. Their tempah wrap and beet goat cheese sandwich are yummy. The huge blueberry muffin last me three days and isn't too sweet, just perfect for mornings. Their breads, vegetables and other food items are locally sourced. Having fresh homemade soup this year is appreciated also. We have enjoyed trying many new products. And their prices are fair. Looking forward to their fresh fish becoming available in the near future, like crab and lobster meat and oysters.

Gorgeous, well-curated local produce, meats, dairy and sundries. Not the kind of place where you can get everything, but everything they carry is excellent. The prices we quite fair for the quality and comparable to other shops I’ve been to. Plus friendly! Nothing but good things to say and I wish them the best.

This is a great addition to South West Harbor. It is cute with a pretty cool selection of locally made food. I picked up several interesting items including canned smoked salmon with jalapeños, unique crackers, pepper jelly, and had some of their delicious vegan mac and cheese. I am rating it 3 stars for the service. My sister and I visited 2 hours before closing, purchased a ton of expensive food (for the second day in a row) and wanted to also grab a cup of coffee to take back to our hotel. The carafe was empty and after alerting the store clerk, she told us in a very convoluted away that she ain't making another pot and we can keep it moving. That left a bad taste in my mouth because we spent a lot of money in the store and we weren't even worth the effort to make more coffee. It may seem like no big deal to the store clerk because to her, it was at the end of the day and making another pot could be a waste of time, energy, and money. In my opinion, it would have been a very appreciated sign of good customer service. Who knows, we could have purchased the whole pot or several cups as a thank you. What we ended up doing is going to Freshies a few miles down the road instead. In the future, ill most likely think twice before shopping here. And since we had to drive miles for coffee, we can ALSO go drive miles to the coop in Blue Hill.

Sawyer's Market has a great selection of pre-made sandwiches, wraps, blueberry muffins, and produce at good prices. What a great place to go for a quick take-out meal, picnic, or stock up on fresh supplies to be enjoyed later. Chicken salad sandwiches and blueberry muffins are big enough to share at a reasonable price.

Food was good! My husband enjoyed his lobster but very much. My lobster was boiled in salt water and think they brought half the water inside the lobster. Lobster was good but would have been a 5 if Steamed. 2 out of 4 chairs were sun/weather rotted on the edge. 😳

We enjoyed our meal here. It took us a while to get a server, but we were enjoying the view. I had the lobster roll and he has the seafood platter and the clamp chowder. He RAVED about the clamp chowder and the variety and portions in the platter was great. The lobster roll was good, I think I would have liked it more if the lobster was warm not cold. Service was adequate once we ordered but we did have to ask for drink refills. The views were spectacular and the weather was perfect!

Absolutely stunning service. Our server was a sweet attentive young lady who was wearing a cute 50s inspired outfit complete with checkered scarf and pearls. She was on top of our table of 8. With two under 4. She made our dinner a breeze and a delight. Would recommend the blueberry cider! It's delicious. The shrimp scampi is absolutely delicious highly recommend. The portions perfect. The lobster roll hot or cold are well priced and quite tasty. Good portion well filled buttered brioche rolls. I don't normally like coleslaw but here, I finished two. Easily 10/10

Had dinner at the cafe. Very attentive staff. Tried their halibut with crumbled lobster on top. Nicely done. Green beans cooked perfectly and had a slight snap. Also tried the lobster puff and didn't care for it. A bit too soggy on the pastry side. My wife had a blacked halibut sandwich and really liked it.

We were a party of four that had a nightmare of an outing. Upon arriving, everything seemed fine, although we found it odd that they insisted on not serving lunch until noon. But whatever, we just decided to sit around and have a couple of drinks. My husband and I ordered drinks that were very specifically diet, the waitress brought us two rounds of regular soda. Which is not cool if you’re a diabetic…. she then proceeded to argue with us how artificial sweeteners aren’t good for your pancreas. I’m not sure I need medical advice from a waitress and one of our parties is a licensed medical professional. I could’ve overlooked this, but then we ordered lunch and I very specifically ordered my burger with a gluten free bun as I am celiac. It was brought to me with a regular bun and then the waitress tried to argue with me that that’s not what I ordered…. While my entire party confirmed that that was what I ordered, and she even repeated the order after we placed it. this has to be one of the most bizarre service experiences I’ve ever had. It’s sad, because the food was actually good. But won’t ever be back

This hole in the wall is a complete gem 💎 and we will be back for sure!! Great service, incredible food, excellent beer choices as well! We ordered the Brie appetizer, it was delicious!! I the filet mignon tips with Bernese sauce and also asked for additional demi-glaze on the side. Cooked to perfection, and the sauces were spot on. My partner got the salmon and said it was delicious as well. There were so many options on the menu that looked absolutely delicious and we look forward to trying other dishes next time we are there. The restaurant had a cozy vibe, great decor, fills up quickly on the weekends. Our server was excellent, not only was she knowledgeable, great with her service, provided excellent recommendations, and exceeded our expectations. Depending when you go, it might not be a bad idea to call ahead and make a reservation.

Cafe drydock is on the quiet side of the island which makes it a great location to get away from the craziness of bar harbor. There are still plenty of restaurants (including in-house), an ice cream shop, and some gift shops right on the same downtown strip. Parking was easy, room was a nice size and clean. Overall a great stay.

Nestled in Southwest Harbor, Charlotte's Legendary Lobster Pound is a charming roadside eatery that captures the essence of a classic American diner with its vibrant red and white decor. This unique seafood haven gained attention for its innovative approach to cooking lobsters—owner Charlotte Gill has been experimenting with using CBD and valerian to calm the crustaceans before they hit the pot, resulting in what she claims is sweeter and lighter meat.
We have been coming here for years and always look forward to it. We love the fried clams and the lobster roll is also excellent. The people are the nicest you could every hope for. They recently moved down the road to the parking lot behind the Seawall Motel, so don't miss them!

This place is absolutely amazing!! The service is perfect, staff was super friendly, and the food was heavenly!! If I could give the food a 10 star that still wouldn't be good enough!!! The menu is the best lobster pound menu I have seen!! I have been coming to Maine for 9 years and would never have thought I'd see a menu with such variety as I did here!!! I’ve had been a customer at the original location for years but yesterday was our first visit to the new location at Seawall. The new spot is great with plenty of space and a nice view. The food was even better than I remembered. My wife splurged and got the foot long crab roll for me, it was excellent and the amount of crab in the sandwich was beyond expectation so definitely worth it. For most people it would be a two person sandwich but I took care of it on my own.

The Little Notch Bakery and Café, in the quaint little town of Southwest Harbor, Maine, was a delightful morning stop. During our first visit of our Acadia National Park vacation we purchased scones, muffins, and little fruit tarts. Our first visit purchases were so fresh and tasty we went back and purchased two-large blueberry tarts, a large apple tart, and a large raspberry tart. My favorite bakery item was the large raspberry tart, quickly followed by a large blueberry tart. We had a lovely conversation with the shop keepers and were told they only use Maine blueberries. We enjoyed our visits! ❤️

After bussing it up in Bar Harbor I decided to go to this quaint little bakery. The employees were very nice with the atmosphere being inviting. The bakery treats were not to my liking and a bit overpriced but I mainly came for the pizza. I smelled it from down the street and I reminded me of my Nona’s kitchen talents. However despite the pizza’s delicious smell and good crust, it was not good at all. Too flacid, unflavorful, and seemingly undercooked I would not recommend.

Open Wednesday through Sunday 7am - 11am. Community Kitchen and donation based. What an amazing vibe of beautiful souls all coming together to help others. We met the Irish lady (adorable). Popovers a Maine tradition but much like Yorkshire Pudding from the UK are served here freshly made, eat them with delicious wild blueberry jam. We also had a bowl of Porridge and cup of coffee. Highly recommend to anyone, if we are back in this area I would come here every morning.

We found the Common Good this year on our fist vacation to Southwest Harbor. They put out an oatmeal and popover breakfast as a fund raiser to support their activities. The popovers were the best I have ever had and I am missing them at this morning’s breakfast back in Connecticut. The folks that volunteer their time there are wonderful people and their mission is worthy of your support.

I am visiting From FL and heard about this place. First off the popovers were better than anywhere else I’ve had them and wonderful people helping out a good cause. Stop in
Steve Z — Google review
Great community minded cafe with a great mission. I stopped in on my way out of the area for breakfast and was immediately greeted by the volunteers and ushered towards the food. Jeremy gave me the history of the organization and we talked throughout my visit. It is all donation based, so pay what you can. The food was set in a line of tables with homemade jams, butters, and other toppings for popovers and oatmeal. They kept the popovers inside to keep warm on the cool morning, but were consistently running them out as people wanted them. Very dog friendly place, all the volunteers were loving a group of dogs that came in. They do have a "dog of the day" poster that they would take pictures and hang up there. This is well worth the visit when they are open - they have a great mission, great food, and the most pleasant people volunteering there.

Wandered by and saw a sign about an Ice Cream Social. I was there a little early but they were welcoming and were very enthusiastic about the event. I mentioned that I was looking forward to the pop overs that are sold the mornings Thursday - Saturday. They had been testing the production to get ready for the next mornings popover and oatmeal breakfast and brought a few that remained out to be filled with ice cream (raspberry chocolate chunk went into mine). A very nice touch. On Friday went back for a breakfast of popovers and tea. Everyone both times were welcoming and very helpful. It was great to see high schoolers volunteering as well as the retirees volunteering and working together. I could see my donation was going to be well used during the off season. The music played by volunteers runs more to folk music and classic rock and done in sets so not constant. Money well donated.

I knew Larry and Frannie, Bill too. James Tarnow helped too. An amazing and dedicated team! Larry and Bill co-wrote the book. I miss them all, deeply. We had lots and lots of fun times. We must have all met each other at Jumpin Java, James coffee shop right the on Main Street. James stopped then, he had cancer once before. Not to be a Debbie Downer, there were toboggan parties hosted by Larry and Frannies!!! So much more happening in Southwest Harbor and Wilson Wyoming. St John USVI. EyYup, I’ve done some traveling. Guess the James, Frannie, and Larry were perhaps the source of my inspiration to continue creating and exploring new adventures. “Stettnerize”!, was what everyone was saying at Larry’s Memorial. Larry sure missed Frannie, I miss too. We all enjoyed a variety of activities, books, dogs, cooking, music, love, dancing, just hanging out together. Family, friends, good food, laughter, good times, bad times, being rich or poor, does not matter, we all find a way. Bill, his dream was to feed people, well, I could say “we all found our way to Southwest Harbor. It’s a village and a véu (view) to the world. Be kind, patient, have compassion, and LISTEN, really allow others to be heard, don’t tell someone “I think you’re getting worked up.” Let them be heard. Patience. It takes practice. You’d never know it, I’ve been meditating for over 20 years. Tibetan meditation. Surry, Maine has a place. They are still there. Town Hill, where I met and saw Anam Thubten. Paul isn’t in Town Hill, but you can find him. Eh Yup, strayed again. I’ll finish up now. David Shlim, MD in Kelly, WY. That’s where I really learned to sit, study Tibetan way, Buddhist meditation. We call it sitting, we all sit in silence. I simply stop talking and take a break and suddenly I realize I’m meditating. I burst into laughter. ~ Kathi Squires

Tucked away in Northeast Harbor, The Docksider is a charming Maine restaurant offering a variety of delectable dishes. From outstanding crab and lobster rolls to perfectly grilled salmon, the menu features an array of seafood delights. With its 'Down East' ambiance and friendly waitstaff, it's the perfect spot for classic Maine dining. Guests rave about the generous portions, reasonable prices, and stellar service.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at the Docksider and it was an absolute delight. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with friendly and attentive service. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, perfect for a relaxing easy meal. We had the option of dining inside or out. The seafood dishes were so fresh and flavorful. We had clams, scallops, haddock, fries and all I would try again. I’m planning on going back to get a lobster roll and icecream!

Found this place on a whim after our hike around Little Long Pond. We were tired and hungry, this place did not disappoint! Got there around 1:30 and it was not busy at all. Service was great and they even gave a mini lobster show/lesson to my sons (which they loved!). The raw oysters were delicious, lobster & crab rolls were also fantastic! Beer selection was also great, we even were offered samples of the local beers. Great place all around! Highly recommend!

We stumbled upon The Docksider after visiting ANP. How lucky! First of all, it’s adorable!. We dined on the patio. The booths inside appear to be original but are just perfect. It was spic and span clean, with a cute little bar. Now for the best part, the food. This was the BEST lobster roll we’ve ever had. The lobster was fresh (it’s hand picked daily) and the yummy toasted roll was bursting with lobster meat. We are still raving about it! We also found their clam chowder to be the best one we’ve had in Maine. It was the perfect consistency, not think and goopy! And, we didn’t have to search for real clams in it. Yummy! The owners truly care about quality. They were also very gracious and attentive. So, if you are tired of the Bar Harbor crowds and clatter, drive out to Southeast Harbor and take in a little old fashioned harbor town delight. Don’t forget to top it off with a piece of wild blueberry pie for a real Maine lunch.

We easily found a table outside at this restaurant, which had a local, casual feel. The server was friendly and the vibe was chill. We also got the inside scoop on local tips and tricks to make our overall visit more fun. My kids enjoyed it so much that they wanted to go back for our last dinner in the area. We had a great experience that time too. The food is good and it was a little less expensive than other restaurants nearby.

Loved this place, the proprietor, Steve, and the location just above the marina at Northeast Harbor. The food was great! Try the lobster roll - order it hot - with a side of coleslaw and chips or fries. The bread was toasted inside and out, the lobster was very fresh and sweet, and amply provided. The coleslaw was delicious, made in house, and the chips are from Maine and super delicious. My wife had the steak and cheese sandwich with fries, which were piping hot and crispy, right from the fryer, so good. The sandwich was hot and gooey and delicious! The current owners bought the restaurant 4 years ago, disregard older reviews, they are for the prior owners.

Stopped in for a late lunch after biking in Acadia. Great relaxed vibe (we sat outside) - Grateful Dead playing on the sound system. Had a beer, fresh raw oysters, and some lobster bisque. They were the BEST raw oysters I've ever had! Really great little place.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had an absolutely amazing experience at Docksider Restaurant! From the moment we walked in, the staff went above and beyond — friendly, attentive, and truly phenomenal in every way. The food was out of this world! The mozzarella sticks are a must-try — seriously the best we’ve ever had — and the lobster roll was incredible, fresh, and full of flavor. Every bite was perfect, and the atmosphere made it even better. We left full, happy, and already talking about when we’ll come back. Highly recommend Docksiders to anyone in the area — you will not be disappointed!

The food here is amazing and actually made with love. They have the best cheesesteak on MDI, no doubt about it. The staff is incredible and they always go the extra mile. The new owners have really transformed this place into something special. The bar area isn’t the largest however the drinks and beer options are phenomenal. I will absolutely be coming back next summer!

The XYZ Mexican Restaurant is a lively and high-end establishment that serves homestyle Mexican cuisine and margaritas. The food is excellent, but service can be uneven.
Always fabulous. Beautiful and comfortable setting. Expert and efficient wait staff. Delicious and creative meals, superb spices and flavors. The pies are homemade and are incredible and the owner/host is charming and friendly. You can't beat it- anywhere!

Very unique South American Cuisine in a very eclectic atmosphere. You may find this restaurant hard to find as it is tucked away in one of the rural areas of South West Harbor. only negative is that it is a little pricey but that's what you have to expect in tourist town Mount Desert Island
Ernest G — Google review
Lovely! Got in after dark for our first night ever on Mount Desert Island, found out most things closed at 8 or 9pm (at least on a Sunday). Saw online that XYZ was open, so we rushed over. Called on the way, and they were so friendly and helpful; even squeezed us in with a reservation, so we knew we weren't driving over for nothing. (Lucky we got in; the place was packed.) The host (owner?) greeted us warmly, got us situated comfortably, and made recommendations (which I appreciated because I am a vegetarian). Our server was one of the best I have ever had: kind, helpful, very attentive. I can't speak highly enough about the service. The chiles relleños were AMAZING! They use a rehydrated pepper, rather than a fresh one, amd the flavor amd texture were out of this world. My parents had the short rib and the mole chicken (each delicious), but both agreed my dish was their favorite. (If you eat seafood, maybe try to dish with 1 chile relleño and 3 giant shrimp- we saw it coming put at the end of our evening- looked and smelled wonderful.) Also... the Margaritas Especiales were tasty and potent! Don't go here if you are looking for endless baskets of chips and salsa or heaping plates of cheap food. But if you want a delightful experience in a lovely little returant, where the service is spectacular and the spices are mouthwatering and the food is unique and delicious... make sure you make it to XYZ. We loved it.
Eve S — Google review
Let's start with the obvious. Any lively restaurant at the end of a dirt road by itself is pretty cool. What's more, the food we had - chile verde, tongue, and short rib - were all excellent. Our service at the bar was okay, although the pre-mixed margaritas were something of a surprise and disappointment. Even at that, the bartender was so overwhelmed that two different parties got up and left for lack of service.
Dan P — Google review
Terrific authentic Mexican food! I had the short rib and it was incredible! All of the food is absolutely delicious. Great margaritas too! Definitely worth going off the beaten path for this gem.
Emily W — Google review
Over the years, I've enjoyed Mexican food in Mexico, in the South, and the west coast and this I have to say has been the biggest disappointment that my wife and I have ever had. No salsa and chips, but 4 tiny pieces of bread with two tiny cups of a teaspoon of red and green sauce. The food was bland and the chicken wasn't marinated in the sauce. The salad was a few pieces of lettuce with olive oil on the side. The portions were very small for the $26.00 a plate price.
Scott D — Google review
This place is legit. . .noticed some commenters panning the place. This is more fine dining upscale than anything else. Don't be misled by the commenters. Not Tex Mex or all inclusive resort Jimmy Buffett Mex restaurant. Make a reservation and be in the right mindset. Enjoy what XYZ **is**
Matt N — Google review
Terrible experience. Tried to make a reservation for three days straight and got denied, canceled, and pushed off every time. Tried to pick up food on the third day instead of dining in, they told us they were too busy even though that was the day they told us to make a reservation due to it normally being "dead". Rude waitresses, rude transactions on the telephone, rude experiences. Would not recommend.

The Nor'Easter Pound & Market is a casual eatery located near the marina in the Kimball Terrace Inn. It offers a variety of breakfast options, seafood dishes, and sandwiches along with cocktails, draft beer, and wine. The restaurant is known for its lobsterman-owned establishment with waiters, a large menu, and a full bar. Additionally, it features a fish market within the restaurant where visitors can purchase fresh seafood.
We bought several lobsters here today after calling around to many area seafood places for prices. I couldnt believe how reasonable the prices were here. $8.75/lb for 1 1/4 pounders and $9.75/lb for 2 lbs and more. Every place else was almost twice the price. We got back to the cottage we were renting and cooked up the absolute best lobster meal ever. The lobster shells were stuffed full with meat and so delicious. I cannot thank the staff enough for their friendly and courteous service. This has to be the best lobster pound in the entire area. I highly recommended Northeast Lobster Company. They are a 5 star without hestitation.

We visited on a Tuesday in mid-June 2025 for breakfast before our National Park Cruise with Sea Princess Cruise out to Cranberry Island. This place was open early enough that one of my cousin wanted to grab a quick breakfast sandwich. I did not order anything myself but wanted to check it out. it's actually a very nice restaurant with a market. The one staff lady that was there was super nice and accommodating constantly talking with us as our items were being prepared. Super friendly. I didn't actually buy any food so I can't really rate it but the service was nice and there were a couple groups in there in the early morning but it was pretty quiet. I bet it could be a little more rowdy during lunch or dinner. I would certainly consider coming back here to grab something to eat and/or sit down for a meal.

This market has a large food and drink menu, and everything was delicious that we ordered. The prices were more than reasonable ($42 for 6oz lobster roll, $33 for 4oz). Excellent location with a big patio, environment inside is open and spacious and not too loud. Great store too!

Had a 8:45pm reservation for a group of 7 - ate dinner post sunset hike. We were struggling to find a spot that stayed open past 9pm in Bar Harbor / Mt Desert. Nor’Easter was still busy this late on a Monday. Food took a while to come out; the server was friendly but very busy with lots of tables. Food was fine - very fried, and meal rounded out to over $350 for everyone to have an entree, a drink and we split a few appetizers. Shared the lobster Mac and cheese which I do not recommend it was not very hot and noodles were dry. Crab cakes on the Cesar salad were fine - not great, not bad. Would recommend this restaurant for splitting an app and one drink, not a full dinner.

Nice and clean environment near the harbor, plenty of parking space. Food was decent but nothing to call home about. On the expensive side for the quality and quantity of food. Clam chowder was not creamy instead a bit starchy. Fried fish tasted good.
Shirley F — Google review
Pappardelle Alfredo with lobster was to die for! Perfectly paired with a whoopie pie sundae for dessert. Fish tacos were yummy but would have preferred a bit more sauce as they were a tad dry. To be fair I could have asked for more. We ordered a side Caesar salad and side of broccoli, which were fine but nothing of note. The broccoli was not very tender. We had a small mishap with our meal but our server took care of us very kindly. We would come back to enjoy the delicious food and views!

Abel's Lobster is a seasonal lobster and clam house offering casual dining with waterfront seating on a natural fjord. Situated on a nub extending into Somes Sound, it buzzes with activity during summer nights as patrons enjoy drinks from the outside bar while kids and dogs play around. The open-air kitchen allows guests to watch lobsters being cooked before enjoying them at tables set across the sloping lawn. The mid-century wood-walled dining room provides picturesque views from every table.
We have been going to Southwest Harbor for many years, but had never tried Abel's. We are so glad we did - we even went back a second time during our trip! The setting is lovely and the service is very friendly. Upscale food, no tourist rip-offs. The fried clams were excellent, as were the hand-cut fries. The salads were also a stand out with fresh local vegetables. Highly recommended!

Be prepared to wait - arrived around 6:30 on a Wednesday with a group of 6. Waited around an hour for a table. They have an outdoor bar and high top seating where you can grab a drink and play corn hole while you wait. Beautiful harbor - great place to watch a sunset while enjoying a meal. Check out the yacht yard adjacent to the restaurant - cool boats. Service was helpful and friendly. Our group liked our food - highlights were the corn bread (a must try!!) lobster Mac and cheese and wedge salad. Recommend this restaurant but be cautious of the weather as most seating is outdoors and it started the rain as we paid our bill which caused all guests to try to huddle indoors which was a little bit of a mess / crowded. Make sure you’re visiting on a clear night, or opt for indoor seating if rain is in the forecast!
Kristina I — Google review
This WAS one of my favorite lobster pounds in the Bar Harbor area. The location on the water with sunset views and an outdoor bar, seating, games, and fireplace creates an unmatched ambience. Usually there is a wait at dinner time, especially for indoor seating. Food this year was eh. Oysters were smaller than in prior years. Lobster roll was not good. The bun is too big and too toasted. Fries were also not good. The curry the mussels were in was incredible, and the cornbread and chowder were also excellent. But I was disappointed the quality of the lobster roll was so poor this year, given it’s a lobster pound. I would absolutely come here for the ambience but I will now be going to other lobster pounds if I want a good lobster roll.

We tried Abel’s based on a google search and it did not disappoint. We sat outside on the little bar looking over the harbor. A spot I highly recommend as the view was beautiful and the seats were shaded. Stopped in for a late lunch/ early dinner in September and there was no wait. The fries were terrific. We actually ordered a second round for dessert. Of course we had the soft shell lobster -YUM. We could not leave Maine without a lobster meal. This is a spot you cannot skip while in Acadia.

Dinner here was one of our best memories from our Maine vacation in July! We didn't have reservations, but were seated quickly at this counter that faced the dining room and the water. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. The food - particularly the fish and chips were absolutely delicious. Perfectly crispy - they struck the right balance with a nice crunchy batter and a moist tender fish inside. Accompanying fries were also very good. The salad was fine. I wish we had been there longer than just a few days; I would very much like to have had a chance to return and try more of the yummy looking menu items and sit outside for a meal. Highly recommend.

Such a fun place to eat seafood! The vibes are so warm, friendly and casual while still being really high-quality food. The lobster rolls are good here, though I personally prefer the crab rolls. Sooo much crab meat and so little anything else! Heavenly. Our waitress, Di, was so much fun, I made the whole dining experience a joy for us. She also gave us some really good recommendations off the menu! (The brussels sprouts are so delightful. You barely know their brussels sprouts…) It was dark when we had dinner here, so I would definitely go back to enjoy the incredible view — if you go in the summer, absolutely dine outside!

Went here for lunch at the recommendation of a friend & loved it so much that we went back for dinner. The service & food were excellent! Mussels - yes! Lobster roll - yes! Lobster Mac n cheese - YES! Cornbread - yes! Blueberry pie - yes! House-made breads & local ingredients with a great view. Did I mention we loved it?

My husband and I stopped here for our last night on the island. I was eager to get lobster one more time. The host was kind enough to find us a spot on the tail end of a very busy night for them. The lobster was the BEST!! It was a soft shell... Perfectly cooked and the meat was so tender and sweet. We also had fantastic lonneck clams that were caught locally that day. Our waitress, Sandy took great care of us, gave us great background on the fresh seafood and was just really sweet. We also had the lobster bisque, a great salad and some tasty and unique cocktails - Liquid Gold and a lobster martini. The location was BEAUTIFUL, which just topped off the whole experience. When we come back to Acadia, we will be stopping here again. Thank you!

The most delicious dishes! The most scrumptious drinks! The atmosphere was lively. Service was excellent. First time we went there was no wait as we got there early. The second time we waited less than 30mins but it was busy full. The portions are large. Wish this place was closer to our home, we would eat here every week. Staff was excellent! Both the hostess and the waitress were great. Had a table for 5 at one of the front windows. Waitress knew the menu very well and answered all of our questions about the menu with great detail. 3 of us tried the burger, which was delicious. 1 of us had the buffalo wings and said that they were some of the best that he had ever had. Called ahead for a table and waited a few minutes after our arrival by sitting in the small garden area next door.

We were visiting the area and we picked this restaurant for dinner because of its high rating on google maps and we were not disappointed. Amazing food, service was also phenomenal. Really good vibes, we enjoyed the atmosphere and were there for a good two hours and didn’t feel rushed at all! We had the mussels as an appetizer, my 9 year old daughter ate most of them, they were really good. I had the gnocchi as my main, the gnocchi were definitely homemade, soft little pillows of goodness. I enjoyed the butternut squash puree and mushrooms accompanying the gnocchi. The schnitzel was really good. My kid had the butter pasta which was delicious. Overall a lovely dinner!

Rogue Maine Food is a small and intimate restaurant run by a mother and son team, with only three adults and two dedicated young individuals on staff. The food is described as fresh, beautifully presented, and delicious. The salads are particularly praised for their quality ingredients, while the eggplant app has been recently elevated to amazing status. Seafood dishes are highly recommended. Despite the small staff, the service is said to be phenomenal.
Me and my family visited Rogue as a private party and had the best time. The food was so delicious and fresh. Felt like a loving home cooked meal.

This place is so clearly a labor of love. Our fantastic server was kind and thoughtful and really made it feel like we were regulars. It’s the kind of place that feels like- and I think is!- as if your best cook friend has invited you over for a 3 course meal. Yes, they turn folks away with bar seats open! Yes, they have a limited seating capacity! It’s a bartender, a server and ONE chef/owner. Expect a little wait (with delicious bread to tide you over) and yummy food.

Restaurant from the front outside looks terrible, junk in the yard. Had a hard time getting into front door. Greeted and seated promptly. Waited a long time for drink order , dinner and drink order taken at same time.Food was bland, water not re poured, rest room door would not lock properly . For our last night on vacation this was a poor dining experience. There was no light going outside down the steps and to the parking lot. Pitch black. Very inattentive service. Seems like there was a lot of paperwork at the bar .

Rogue has always been one of our favorite places on the island. It has lived up to its high standard! We had an amazing meal last night. Start to finish the food was impeccable. Appetizers included, tomato bisque, lobster cakes, Beet salad and Panko crusted eggplant. All perfectly flavored perfectly cooked and delicious. Main courses included delicious Atlantic cod, Maine scallops and a braised chicken dish. All spot on and flavorful. Ingredients are locally sourced and organic. Additionally, the desserts were sensational. We sampled each one! This place is a hidden gem. Casual but upscale. The best meal we had our entire vacation.

The best food we had in Acadia. Never knew you could get such spectacular food and service from a locally-sourced establishment. When we were there, we had bisque from foraged mushrooms, homemade potato gnocchi, and the best scallops ever. Ohhhh Rouge….Where do I begin….I don’t normally leave reviews like this but in this case I just had to say something….. It was ASTOUNDING!!!! It was my wife’s and my privilege to eat at such a true restaurant. The setting/ambience is very chill and comfortable. Our server was impressive as she was solo and had a decent number of tables to care for. She kept us feeling like we were no bother to take care of and didn’t have the need to fawn all over us which we hate anyway. I suppose you want to know about the food… Well, let me tell you that it’s GOOOOOOD…like soooooo good that they can bring you the totally wrong dish and it absolutely doesn’t and shouldn’t matter (thank you for the scallops Chef but the haddock rocked as well🤘). This isn’t just trendy “farm to table” food, this is something different. Local ingredients…sure…cool…right on. There’s just something about the prep and finishing that stands out….I say it’s love and an attitude of dedication that we as patrons are invited to share in. If you’re a bag of tools who has expectations that must be met otherwise you’ll never go back….Good! They don’t need or want you. Be patient, be cool and most importantly…be grateful for what they’re trying to do for you. Thanks everyone! Can’t wait to see you all again.

We’ve been to bar harbor several times but this was our first time staying in SW harbor and man, was Rogue a highlight! The cocktails were phenomenal and all of the food was so interesting and cooked perfectly. Highly recommend the mussels, burrata, and scallops!

Mother and son do this together. It is small, 25 people or so, and intimate. Everything is fresh, beautifully presented, and delicious. ! Since two people do everything, enjoy your cocktail and order an appetizer early or just have bread with your wine while you wait for your cooked to perfection main course. The bread is terrific too. This is a perfect Maine experience !

Restaurant
Peter Trout's Tavern and Inn is a maritime-themed spot with outdoor seating and views of the sound. The weathered shingles, picnic tables, and harbor view give it a classic Maine vibe. While it may look like a typical no-frills eatery, its menu offers more than just lobster rolls and fried fish. It features house-made buns with aioli for their dishes.
Incredible, fantastic, phenomenal! I can't say enough good things about the food. We got 3 sides, the biscuits, smashed potatoes, and the pickles. My husband devoured the pickles! The biscuits were so good, crunchy and flaky but also moist and fluffy. The sandwich blew my mind. Incredible batter, great taste! So happy!

Classic harbor side eatery known for its fish sandwiches and turkey. Parking across the street. It is not exactly on the harbor, just across the street. Eating outside you can see the boats. Great food and bar.

Good food - fish sandwich, mashed potatoes, brussels sprouts and biscuits. I suggest sharing. Good music Good atmosphere Great staff My wife is going to blame me if you come here and I can’t get a table. Enjoy!

Place could be a really cool spot. Has two bar tops, lots of seating, a lot of space, was clean and has a good view. We were the only people in the place the entire time. We sit at the bar as usual. Not a fan of the rap music playing, definitely did not go with the atmosphere of the place and was slightly loud since there was no one there. They changed the music to something equally just as bad but we went for food. We got a couple beers and ordered the food. Chicken and waffles and a chicken sandwich. Extra sides are $7 ea which is steep. Service was fine, bartenders did not go out of their way to make conversation but was cordial and attentive. Chicken was really good; waffle was just a waffle, bun was fresh and good on the sandwich. Side for the sandwich was whole new potatoes. Very tasty but there are only 3. Maybe the music was a one off or just because it is the end of the season. We probably would have hung around and drank a few more if the music was more our style or if bartenders would have struck up some conversation. The fact we were the only customers may be why it had an awkward vibe but overall I would go back and try it again.

The fried chicken skillet is really incredibly good here. Last time I went I was highly disappointed that they didn’t have any available. I contemplated leaving, but ordered a burger and a fried chicken sandwich instead. Boy was that the right decision! This is a special occasion treat though, it’s seriously greasy and decadent.

We’re visiting from Ohio, and we were looking for a restaurant after our hike. This restaurant was in a nice location by the water and that was the only thing nice about it. We waited over an hour for our food. I asked if the food was being cooked yet, and the waiter was like “Of course. We only have two cooks.” The service was not good. Our sandwiches came out with burnt buns and greasy. It came with like 4 tiny potatoes. I couldn’t even finish the sandwich. I wouldn’t recommend coming here.

We stayed in southwest harbor last week while visiting Acadia. It was a very nice laid back tavern and was the perfect place for us because we had seafood the couple nights before and were looking for something different. My mom had a burger which she was was very good. I ordered the chicken sandwich and omg I wish they weren't 12 hours away because I'd stop there weekly for that chicken sandwich and pickles I could eat a whole jar of those with whatever the dip was they put on the plate too.
Amanda L — Google review
I ate here twice while visiting the area, both times at the bar. First visit I ordered the market fish; second time, the hot fried chicken sandwich. Unfortunately both times, the food was saturated and dripping with grease. I ordered a tinned fish which showed as available on the menu, but was later told it wasn’t. Service is not engaging or attentive.

MDI Lobster & BBQ is a laid-back dining spot with picnic tables where you can savor a variety of seafood, sandwiches, and BBQ dishes. Situated by the water, you have the option to dine in a tent or at the waterside tables. The menu features delectable options such as clam chowder, fried shrimp, whole bellied clams, pulled pork, lobster rolls, ribs and Nashville chicken sandwich. The staff is known for their warm hospitality and prompt service.
Great seafood and BBQ place right by the water (you can eat in the tent or on the tables near the water). Went with my parents twice on our last two nights of vacation, it was so good the first night and the owner suggested we come back again for the ribs. Over those two nights we ordered the clam chowder, fried shrimp, whole bellied clams, pulled pork, lobster roll, and ribs. Everything was fresh, delicious, and well worth the price. The staff is also incredibly friendly and greeted as soon as we walked in. The owner even went around to every table to make sure everyone enjoyed their meals. Only issue was the pulled pork wasn't hot the first night and he went back to the kitchen, addressed it immediately, and offered us some commentary BBQ sauce because my dad had said he enjoyed it so much. If I go back to the Southwest Harbor area again, I will definitely be going back. Could not recommend enough.

I had the lobster and ribs with a side of Mac and cheese and potato salad. Best lobster I ever had! Ribs were absolutely delicious! Mac and cheese was amazing and the potato salad was kinda just like any ol potato salad to be honest. The staff was super friendly and helpful. My wife had the tacos and even though cilantro tastes like soap to her she still finished them because they were delicious! It was a great find during our trip to Acadia! Hats off to you!

Great BBQ, excellent atmosphere, and friendly service. We loved the chicken, crumbly corn bread, lobster Mac, and blueberry "crisp". The blueberry crisp was not crispy - more soupy - but oddly super tasty. They serve alcohol and allow dogs. Cool views

Two experiences here! Our favorite restaurant in Southwest Harbor… absolutely 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #1, came at 7:10pm for dinner and they happened to run out of BBQ from dinner rush… no worries, our family each got the fish ‘n’ chips special and were very happy with the food and portions! Enjoyed the beautiful Maine sunset over the water. Owner/manager gentleman came out to check on us, apologize about bbq sold out, but encouraged us to come back for it the next day! #2, Returned here for BBQ lunch the next day and we were absolutely delighted. The ribs were fall-off-the-bone delicious, the brisket was tender, the lobster was fresh, and the sides were all wonderful! All the staff were tremendously courteous and professional both times… this place just knows how to treat customers right Would 100% recommend this place to any visiting family, friends, or anyone reading this review!

Came here on a whim for lunch to get some lobster rolls and BBQ after busy morning exploring Acadia, and was not disappointed. Order at the counter and get a table in the picnic area overlooking the harbor. Be sure to get your lobster roll "Justin style" with garlic aioli!

My vegetarian spouse ordered the dry rub cauliflower appetizer, and it was delicious. She also ordered the street corn and loved it. If you’re a vegetarian visiting this place, the cauliflower and corn could be enough for your meal. I ordered the fried haddock sandwich and pork empanadas. The pork empanada filling was tasty but the dough was raw and needed to be fried more. The fried haddock sandwich is a must try. The sandwich only came with fries. Would be nice to have at least one other side option besides fries to select instead of having to buy an extra side for another five or six dollars. Fries were average.

Excellent choice to stop for picnic/camping feel dinner. Enjoyed BYOB on picnic tables with top notch food. Pick up your order at the counter on a picnic tray with utensils, served fresh & hot in to-go type containers (our meals fit in containers with lids, unlike other diners with the full lobster meals). The steamers were delicious, along with the tasty lobster roll with plentiful meat, and the Nashville chicken sandwich was “bang bang” delicious, as quoted by the one of us who ate that. I even loved the French fries! Blueberry pie was good. Cole slaw could have passed on - not as soft as I prefer. Staff was friendly, and the area was clean and well kept. We were even checked on at our picnic table. Probably will return for another meal on this same trip!!

This place was amazing. The lobster was delicious but the curve ball was dropping a half rack with it and the sides were money. The beans had about as much meat as beans and the greens were seasoned perfectly. The best part is the staff was super friendly and made us feel very at home. This place checked all the boxes for my family, highly recommended!

Next Level Sports Lounge is a local sports bar that offers a refreshing change of scenery from the typical seafood fare in the area. The menu goes beyond standard bar food, featuring delicious options like cheese steaks and whoopie pies. The friendly staff and ample TV screens make it an ideal spot to catch a game. Visitors rave about the bourbon BBQ wings and garlic parm wings, both served with house-made sauces.

I’ve never felt compelled to write a bad review for a restaurant/bar since I work in the industry and have for 10+ years. This was hands down, the worst experience I’ve ever had and only came for a night cap after a really enjoyable dinner at a friends restaurant. I ordered a blueberry habanero margarita. I was basically given a bottle of blueberry hot sauce on ice. Immediately turned my stomach to the point where I went to the bathroom to drink the tap water because with the service we experienced, it would’ve taken 20 minutes for an ice water. When my partner asked for a different drink her immediate response was “well we’re not taking it off the bill” in which neither of us would’ve expected that anyways. We honestly tried to keep it low key and polite, and my boyfriend just asked for a new drink I quickly read on their menu while I went to the bathroom. She treated him with borderline disrespect and made him feel idiotic for asking for a drink listed on their menu stating the menu’s from when they first opened. Honestly, I’d rather give my hard earned money to anyone else in this town. What a disappointing experience after walking away from an overly great experience at a nearby restaurant. This place put a damper on our otherwise, memorable day.

As out of towners we could tell that this was the local spot to be, in a good way! Our server was fantastic! The drinks were delicious, and so was the food! We’d definitely come back! Even thought we we’re from out of town they treated us no different!

We were referred to this sports bar several years ago for their chicken wings, small bar atmosphere and lots of tv’s. We finally made it there this trip and they did not disappoint. Wings (Bourbon BBQ/Garlic Teriyaki), fries, taco salad and salted caramel cheesecake were all delicious! Oh, did I mention Ernie the new bartender. He made me a pickle-tini (his first one). He totally rocked it!! So I had another. 😋 Renee (the owner) was very pleasant and you can tell she does what she loves. Thank you Renee and Ernie. We will see you next year!

My wife and I drove into Southwest Harbour and found our VRBO, and we were so hungry. I found Next Level on Google and called them up. We ordered the potstickers and pulled pork Mac and cheese. Both were very tasty and delicious, the Mac and cheese taking the cake. I never got back to Next level again during my recent trip but will recommend to others.

Absolute gem of a place!!!! We spent some time here each night of our trip - the owner, Renee is amazing. Jennifer (bartender/server) is awesome as well!! All the staff was totally attentive and fun. Drinks didn't go empty! Great indoor/outdoor seating and a fun place to meet locals as well - made several new friends! We stayed for Saturday night karaoke and the DJ was great. Couldn't recommend Next Level more!!!

Great atmosphere for sports. I am from Philadelphia and needed to watch the Eagles. They have every game on different TVs and they literally ask you when you come in what game you want to watch. The food was good. The staff was very friendly and we had a great day. Highly recommend

WHY WHY WHY must patrons look at the ingredients listed for a garden salad???? GARDEN salad = garden vegetables. CHEESE does NOT GROW in a GARDEN. And when I kindly asked if I could get a new salad with no cheese, I was told by the owner they were "Short of vegetables, I could replace it with chicken tenders" Chicken tenders (which I already HAD as part of my Buffalo Chicken salad) do NOT equal a garden salad haha. We were STILL charged $22 for my meal of JUST crispy chicken tenders though. This was our 4th or 5 th visit to your establishment, will also unfortunately be our last. What kind of owner refuses a customer a $22 plate of lettuce , onion and tomato MINUS the "garden grown shredded cheese" haha? (Literally what was on the plate)

Wow! What a great place! We stopped just to do laundry and then realized Joey's Place was right next door. Joey Jr was our bartender and he made was feel totally welcome. We really didn't want to leave when our laundry was finished. We met his father also. What great personalities these guys have. The drinks were great, the bar was immaculate as were the restrooms. We didn't have anything to eat so I can't comment on that but the smells that were coming from the kitchen made our mouths water. You definitely need to check this place out.

I stayed around the corner at Joey's AIRBNB (also 5 Stars, built in sauna was clutch after hikes). As a jersey guy, I like my simple diner foods including, but not limited to, burgers. Joey, being a jersey guy as well, cooks up a hell of a burger and the other essentials such as wings and pulled pork. His staff was also wonderful and attentive. In addition, in consideration of the current pandemic, he made sure that there was ample outdoor seating. I highly recommend stopping here if you are into good, solid, reliable food and drinks.

My husband and I just came back from vacationing in Southwest Harbor, Maine, and this was such a gem to discover. Fresh pastries, amazing atmosphere, and fantastic food. Unique options With this stop! Had the shakshuka which was alright, more chunky like a chili than a traditional shakshuka. The Turkish eggs were great and we specifically enjoyed the pickled carrots and bread! Nice spot on this side of the island, smaller inside with some outdoor spots but first come first serve cafeteria style keeps it all moving.

We visited on a Sunday after in mid-June 2025 for lunch after finishing the Beech Cliff Trail and before heading to the Flying Mountain Trail. There was plenty of parking in the aggregate rock parking lot. There was no shade for the cars but there were picnic tables with umbrellas thankfully. The restaurant was decorated uniquely with buoys. It was a grate photo opportunity. There were a group there when we arrived and at least 3 others as we were ordering and eating and before we left. We were very hungry and ended up ordering quite a bit but we ate it all. We ordered: - Plain Jane Burger (for our pickiest eater and he loved it) - Classic Maine Lobster roll (delicious large pieces of lobster meat and mid-price of what we had seen on our trip) - Fried Clam Roll (superior to the lobster roll in my opinion and slightly cheaper too) - Haddock Sandwich (delicious and the price was right) - Crab Melt (got for my oldest as it was his birthday, it was really food but not sure it was worth more than the lobster roll) - Chicken salad sandwich (my wife was getting sick of fried food on our road trip and she said this hit the spot) - Doughboy (we got one for everyone to share and it was worth it to try. Not sure I'd get it again... maybe if it had some ice cream.) Overall the food was fantastic but the price was also very high. I think you do get the quality for what you're paying for. We did have pretty good service as the staff who took our order was nice and helpful with answering our questions however we did have some missing chips from one of our orders that we had to go back and ask for. Also one of my cousins had ordered a side of fries that they also forgot. There also aren't many food options in this area of Acadia National Park or that are open on Sundays. I would come back again and highly recommend this place to others.

The epitome of a down east roadside seafood shack. Great seating on the lower level or above under the umbrella. Excellent food product. Good selection. Fresh seafood. We had the whole belly clam and haddock sandwich. It came with a sweet coleslaw, fries, and a nice crispy pickle on the side with a beautiful fresh lemon wedge. I believe the family set up business in 1929, if my memory serves me. They are known for their ice cream so you should definitely have some. It’s the kind of place where you can just close your eyes and point and whatever you land on is going to be good Along with friendly service. My favorite experience was watching the girl come out from behind the counter to assist a young couple on how to properly crack and eat their lobster. It was very sweet to see that kind exchange. If you’re traveling with children plan time for a round of goonie golf ⛳️ as there is one in same lot as Rodick’s.

Fresh seafood at this stand! Very cutely decorated. Fries were crispy and salty. We tried the whole maine clams; as someone used to clam strips I enjoyed them but aspects of them the texture was a bit off (I think more of a nature of the dish than the cook). Would be open to trying something else on their menu!

The lobster was so fresh you could taste it. The crab roll is one of the best things I’ve ever eaten in my life, I’ll be thinking about it forever. The batter on the crab was chefs kiss coming from a fish fry Wisconsinite. The blueberry lemonade is perfect, not to sweet or tart.

Had the lobster dinner, blueberry lemonade, and blueberry soft serve for desert! The lobster dinner was incredible, and only $19 for a massive lobster. I had never eaten whole lobster before, but it was easy enough to figure out with some googling! The meat was very tender and juicy, and the cornbread was really good. The lemonade and blueberry icecream were also really delicious and refreshing. Friendly staff too. I’d absolutely come here again! I left stuffed.

Sips 2.0 is a local spot perfect for refueling after a hike. The Moody Mermaid wrap is highly recommended for its delicious and filling qualities at a reasonable price. The staff are friendly and offer a wide selection of frozen meals made in-house, as well as freshly baked treats like chocolate chip cookies and honey fudge. This small shop also offers sandwiches, prepared dishes, and interesting flavored drinks from Maine Roots.
After a hike I was looking for a local place to spend my lunch money at and came upon Sips 2.0. Not sure if there is a Sips 1.0 somewhere else, at the time of my visit it was all about taking care of the hungry signals my body was sending me. Well the Moody Mermaid wrap took care of that hungry feeling! Delicious, filling and quickly made while being reasonably priced. The staff were friendly and outgoing. There was a wide selection of frozen meals to be heated or baked that appeared to be made there. Something I’d grab on another visit.

Small to go shop with sandwiches and prepared dishes. Also, staff bake an awesome chocolate chip cookie and a honey fudge (peanut butter with honey that smooths the peanut butter taste). Over my stay I bought several sandwiches, sides and drinks. The sandwiches were nice size and well filled and very reasonable priced. The sides I liked as the potato salad was very good. They have an interesting array of interesting flavors from Maine Roots (Blueberry, Mandrine Orange, Sarsaparilla and more).

Food is good. Great for take out. Was interested in grabbing a breakfast/lunch item from this spot, so went in to realize they have just quesadillas and wraps which is totally okay. Plenty of pre-packaged food that looks yummy and maybe would be interested from a grab & go stand point! But we both decided on a wrap and paid and were told 15-20 minutes so okay we leave go for a walk come back 20 minutes later and nothing. And then we are told just a few more minutes, so we wait patiently. Finally the two wraps arrive and it’s a tortilla with the appropriate toppings of cold cuts and lettuce all rolled up. Nothing wrong with that but it shouldn’t have taken upwards of 30 minutes. It’s good for a take out spot but not nearly as quick as we had hoped.
