Prohibition Pig is a popular joint in Waterbury Village Historic District, VT, offering a hip atmosphere with over 20 craft beers on tap and classic cocktails. The restaurant serves up Southern-style small plates and barbecue, including smoked meats like ribs, brisket plate, and chopped pork. In addition to their delicious food offerings, Prohibition Pig also brews their own line of beers and hard seltzers in-house.
I made a stop here with my wife and absolutely LOVED it!! We had a little bit of everything: Cornbread with Maple Butter Brisket Greens & Sausage Duck Fat Fries Cornbread Churros Everything we had was phenomenal. This was some of the best barbecue we've had anywhere. On top of that, they had a great selection of craft beers and incredible bar offerings whether you prefer a straight pour or a well made cocktail. I highly recommend a stop here for a meal and their brewery right next door is not to be missed.

The food here was really solid. The crushed cucumber salad was fresh and flavorful. The duck fat fries were a highlight, perfectly crisp. The brisket and wings were also very good. The only downside was the service. We waited a long time before anyone came to take our order, which was frustrating. Still, once the food arrived, it was worth the wait. Overall, a good spot with good food.
Liran T — Google review
We were looking forward to checking this place out during our trip to VT. They did NOT disappoint. Cucumber appetizer was amazing and we tried the "special" roasted carrot one as well. My wife ordered a blue burger (added bacon) and I had the fried chicken sandwich. I told Cullen (our terrific server) that it was one of the best 🐔 sandwiches I've ever had. Duck fat fried are a "can't miss." Cocktails were also tasty. Just wished we had room for dessert as they had a chocolate chip skillet cookie that used bacon drippings rather than butter. We will definitely be back if we're ever in the area. A+

What a fabulous restaurant! The ProPig brewery is right next door too. From minute one, the friendly and lovely young hostess greeted us with an update on timing. The online waiting list was awesome-we could use Yelp to track it. Then we were seated and given waters immediately and the amazing waitress took our orders soon thereafter. She as so helpful with my food issues! Food was delicious. I had a green salad with maple Dijon vinaigrette and smoked chicken thighs - excellent! My husband had brisket that was amazing. Great vibe although pretty loud. Cool seating right up front with big windows too!

Absolutely loved our experience at Prohibition Pig! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with a great mix of rustic charm and lively energy. The food was outstanding—everything from the smoked meats to the locally sourced sides was flavorful and perfectly cooked. Their in-house craft beers were a real highlight, especially the APA. The service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. It’s the kind of place where you instantly feel at home. Whether you're just passing through Waterbury or staying a while, this is a must-visit spot. We'll definitely be back!

Absolutely incredible experience. Minus the wait. Expect to wait during dinner hour and go on the yelp wait list .Service was amazing, very good selection. Brisket was to die for. Amazing beer choices and desserts. 10/10 experience. Would come again and reccomend to anyone.
Devin R — Google review
We were excited to try Prohibition Pig given its reputation in town, but unfortunately, the experience didn’t live up to the hype. The hostess who seated us was exceptionally unwelcoming—she barely acknowledged us, offered no greeting or pleasantries, and made us feel like an afterthought rather than guests. That set the tone for what was an overall impersonal dining experience. Service throughout felt detached, lacking warmth or engagement. As for the food, it was mediocre at best. The BBQ, in particular, fell short—especially disappointing given their claim to match North Carolina standards. In a small town like this, Prohibition Pig may be one of the more well-known spots, but in our view, it’s nothing to write home about.
Baiba G — Google review
Oh Pro pig, how I miss you already. And I was here today, but I haven't reviewed you, despite coming here for a few years when I'm on a pilgrimage to bring beer from Vermont home to New Hampshire. Where do I even start... Walking In, you can smell the food. Immediate mouth water. The seats are comfy, the staff is super nice, and the BBQ is quite litterally what I wish I could eat daily. ENC - whole hog and vinegar based sauce. Normally I would get chopped pork / sausage. But today I was feeling brisket. MAN HAVE I BEEN SLEEPING ON IT. I brought in my girlfriend for an adventure in Vermont and BBQ was what we both wanted for lunch, I told her I knew the spot, and immediately punched it into the gps. To start, burnt ends and grits. I don't think much needs to be said about this, here till it's gone was enough for me. They came out lightning fast, and were juicy, fell right apart, were sauced flawlessly and garnished well so we got vinegar, meat and creamy all at once. I want that for breakfast, every day. Forever. Brisket sandwich. Normally I'm a chopped pork guy. When I think ENC that's where my brain goes too. But I had just tasted brisket and needed more. Let me tell you when I said I couldn't open my mouth wide enough for the monster cuts of brisket. I honestly didn't think I was gonna be able to power through all that sandwich, and pro pig is not known for skimping on the portions. Blew my mind. Came with slaw, and pickles on the sandwich, I drowned it in the hot sauce. So so so so so good. Duckfat fries. Crunchy, perfectly fried, perfectly salted, accompanied with a ketchup and an aioli? Tbh could of been just mayo, and I still would of crammed them into my face hole at light speed. Partner in crime got the chopped pork, and she said on the car ride home, that I needed to make that asap. She's Canadian, and now she knows what's up. pro pigs beer Fluffy little clouds and crispenbauer: I have zero complaints, they came out swinging, were refreshing and left me wanting more. Honestly, my one regret is not living closer. The food is great, the atmosphere is comforting, the staff is friendly, the message is clear. We make great food, we make great beer, and we respect our patrons. Thank you Pro Pig. Your dedication to the craft, and bold flavors have kept me making the trip. But also if your ever looking to show someone how to make that sauce, I will officially start a religion in your name. 5 stars, worth the trip, go hungry. Thank youuuuu!

The Blackback Pub is a charming and rustic establishment offering a seasonal American menu with locally sourced ingredients. Situated in a historic two-story New England-style brick building, the pub exudes warmth and character. Downstairs, guests can enjoy a cozy pub atmosphere with aged wood interiors, while the upstairs dining room and bar offer a gastropub ambiance. The friendly staff welcomes patrons to savor a diverse menu featuring hearty pub fare and Asian-inspired dishes.
Made it here on the day/weekend they were celebrating their one year anniversary under new ownership/management. And wow is it a stellar operation! Owner was working the bar and keeping the energy high but every person working there was super friendly and helpful. Draft beer list is one of the best in town or possibly even the entire state. Food menu is also top notch with plenty of options that utilize quality local ingredients. The meatloaf sandwich was recommended and yes it was truly delicious. The shrimp were incredibly tasty, as well. Vibes can’t be beat, this is a must visit in Waterbury!
Matthew G — Google review
One of my favorite pubs in the world! I usually don't review bars but the food here is so exceptional, I need to. I had the peel and eat shrimp one night and wasn't expecting anything out of the ordinary. What I got was really well seasoned shrimp with a cocktail sauce that now haunts my dreams. How can cocktail sauce be so good?? I think they might put curry seasoning in it. Pair that with phenomenal service from veteran bar keeps and the best selection of craft beer in the area and you can't lose. Pictured are the brussel sprouts and a crab cake(?).
Jesse G — Google review
We decided to visit this place after reading a review for Mac and cheese. We can confirm that this place serves one of the best mac and cheeses we’ve tried. The brussel sprouts were also a hit! Staff were warm and welcoming and we love the chill vibes!

Visiting from Portland, Oregon and we were blown away by the quality of our food at the Blackback Pub. Those were possibly the best nachos we’ve ever had. The atmosphere was also great, a cozy, historic interior and a cute outdoor patio which we sat at. Great for people watching as it’s right on a main Street!
Alison G — Google review
Great tap list but very loud and crowded. Host was a bit abrupt with us as there was only one seat at the bar and I tried to stand next to her. "Ya, you can't stand there!" He showed us the other side of the bar where we could sit on some ledge by the window. Bartenders were good at first but then we were ignored when we were trying to get another beer. By the time she asked if we wanted another one we had to leave. Also, for some reason they don't list pour sizes or cost of any of the beers so I guess you just get what you get. I don't even know what size their standard tulip glass is. I'm guessing it's like a 13oz glass but they only give you like 10oz.
Jeff G — Google review
Went to this place to watch soccer and grab a pint, came back the next day for food and more beer. Excellent local craft beer selection on tap. They also have a lukr tap with two different beers on tap - would definitely recommend trying one. Amazing service both days. First day we sat at the bar. Second day we got a table. We ordered the nachos, pulled pork sandwich and a mac and cheese. All the dishes were amazing. The nachos were the best I've ever had! We will definitely be back next time we are in town! Came back in November 2023, one year later, this place still rocks. Best nachos ever. Also got the jerk chicken wrap which was amazing. Also highly recommend the scallops, brussel sprouts and mac & cheese.
Henry D — Google review
I've eaten here a half dozen times and loved every meal. The food is amazing, and the old building the restaurant is in has so much character. I've eaten at a lot of places in Vermont and this is easily top 3, maybe even tied for first. Last meal I had was their meatloaf sandwich and it is hands the best meatloaf sandwich I have ever had.
Jonathan B — Google review
We sat at the bar and had a great dinner. Crab sandwich and meatloaf sandwich were yummy and filling . The salad called the Stuff was excellent with arugula, blue cheese, grapes and roasted Brussel sprouts. All staff were friendly and attentive. The signature cocktails were unique with every ingredient like carot ginger freshly squeezed in house.

The Reservoir Restaurant and Tap Room is a popular spot in Downtown Waterbury, VT, offering a laid-back atmosphere with over 30 beers on tap and comfort food. It's conveniently located near other dining options like The Prohibition Pig and Blackback Pub. The restaurant has been praised for its no-wait dinner service, friendly staff, and delicious menu offerings including the house burgers cooked to perfection.
I have a feeling your food choices matter in determining your experience here. I will say, their flavors are wild. Lots of fusions, a lit time for the stoned. The soup came out cold at first. They kindly reheated that and got it back. Tasted good. The flavors were great for all the food. Throughly enjoyed this.

Nice place, first time here in this town. First time in this restaurant. I am very comfortable being here. Customer service was great. I just could not decide what kind of restaurant brewed beer to select. I had the pilsner, it was good. Has the classic burger, I thought that was very good. As time went on, the restaurant started to fill up, but the server kept on taking care of us.

Good: Service was friendly and knowledgeable! Overall vibe and experience was fine Ok: food was hit and miss. Burgers and fish chips great! Chicken marsala was to little for price and while tasty was not special. Bad: please when your not that full dont sit 5 at a table for really 3 maybe 4. Do everyone a favor and make people comfortable.

I had to try poutine on my first trip to Vermont so I came here since it was close to my hotel. The fries they use must be double fried because they are as crunchy as ever. I’m sure softer fries would soak up the gravy more. I rate it 3/5 ⭐️. My husband had a classic smash burger. SALTY AS CAN BE. Definitely would not have again. My friend highly recommends the beet dish to anyone who normally likes beets.
Umbananas — Google review
Standout dishes included the poutine fries, crab cakes, sandwiches, and Chicken Marsala. Our server did an excellent job despite it being her first night. She was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and gave thoughtful recommendations that matched our flavor preferences.

Drinks - phenominal 🍻 Food - 'criminally good'! 🍲 Waitress - top notch! Personable, patient, informative... 👍😎 Definitely a great evening here in Waterbury, Vermont!

3 for lunch. Beets salad was excellent and huge. Could have been an entree. 2 orders crabcakes were very good. Fish and chips were also excellent. The breading was light and crisp, French fries crisp. Generous serving, had to take half of it home. Accommodating bartender and waitstaff. Would definitely return.
Cindy B — Google review
Came for dinner on a random Tuesday. Ordered apps and entrees: crab cakes, poutine, mac and cheese. Apps were so so, the gravy on the poutine was the best thing. I’m not sure why people rave about the mac, it’s very mediocre. Ordered chicken wings, steak dish, kids tenders cause they were out of corn dogs, and chicken sandwich. The tenders were overcooked, the steak was straight up cold, and the wings were dry-husband said he liked the chicken sandwich. Service was slow even though they weren’t busy and we got up twice to look for the server. After arriving home my father in law got sick, not sure if it was the cold steak they served but he was not doing well. Wouldn’t go back.

Hen of the Wood is a popular restaurant in Vermont, known for its woodsy-chic interior and thoughtfully sourced menu that changes daily based on fresh and inspiring ingredients. The restaurant offers a separate menu section dedicated to Vermont cheese served with house-made accompaniments like maple crackers and raspberry butter. With a cozy atmosphere, it has been acclaimed as one of the area's best restaurants since its opening in 2005.
Had dinner at the bar tonight after dinners usually seated at tables and it was a fun experience-but lacking nothing. We had the Parker house rolls, and shared the pasta special to start. The special was house made pasta, prosciutto, peas, with a butter sauce—and it was incredible. So much so…one of us ordered a second order later on! We then had the tuna tartare and crushed cucumbers—both immaculately fresh and delicious. We finished with that second pasta plate and a strawberry, feta, mixed green salad. Delicious and thoughtfully crafted food and drinks and great atmosphere. Abbey and Ben at the bar explained drinks, food, and were highly personable and attentive. Love having dining options like this in our hometown!

My husband and I dined at Hen of the Wood in Waterbury for the first time while on our way to Burlington, Vermont, and decided to stop at this location since it was right along our route. From the moment we arrived, the staff was friendly and accommodating. We ordered the peach and tomato salad, a pasta dish for me, and the hanger steak for my husband. While the salad was underwhelming and left much to be desired, my pasta dish was absolutely phenomenal—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. We both have religious dietary restrictions and cannot have any food cross-contaminated with pork. We noticed that both the beef and pork were being cooked on the same grill. When we brought this up to our server, the staff was extremely understanding and helpful—they happily offered to cook the steak separately in a pan to avoid cross-contamination, which we truly appreciated. Our waitress was incredibly kind and hospitable, though she seemed a bit overwhelmed. My entrée was initially incorrect—I was served swordfish instead of the pasta I had ordered—so it had to be remade. I also never received the fried green tomatoes I had ordered, but I decided not to mention it since my entrée already needed to be corrected and I didn’t want to seem like a difficult guest. They offered us a complimentary sorbet, which was a nice gesture. Despite these small hiccups, the food was fresh, flavorful, and overall delicious. The service was warm and accommodating, and we left with a positive impression. We would definitely return!

Probably our best meal spot on our Vermont trip. This place has an incredibly good hanger steak, perfect seasoning crust and cook temp. The mushroom toast appetizer is like an eggs Benedict breakfast with super fresh mushrooms, was very good. The tomato, peach, and mozzarella salad they have sounds strange, but was shocking how good the combination was. It actually changed my perspective of tomato’s which I’m normally not crazy for. The cocktails were made to perfection. You can tell the bar tender knows how to make a good sophisticated drink. Their wine list and service is also very nice. For dessert, do yourself a favor and get their honey crème fraiche ice cream. It was so good, it ruined regular ice cream for me forever Fantastic date spot and a true highlight of our trip
Will — Google review
We’ve been wanting to try Hen of the Wood for years and finally got the chance. We made a reservation at the chef’s counter and weren’t disappointed. The mushroom toast and rabbit liver pate were amazing. We also split the large strip steak with broccolini and potatoes in wine reduction which was equally good. The service was generally good and dishes came out promptly but we did have to flag down the waitress a couple times for drink refills. The menu seemed unexpectedly a little limited. For example, there were options for beef, different types of rabbit, halibut and vegetarian dishes but no poultry (especially given the name of the restaurant). However, everything we ordered was outstanding. Can’t wait to go back the next time we are in the area!
Bill A — Google review
Hey folks, this is high end eating in downtown Waterbury, the food capital of Vermont it's said. What I like for a high end place is their options for both small plates and more filling normal sized plates. We had the $110 shared "Ribeye for Two" steak dish that had phenomenal taste. Only issue I had was a fatty section of the steak, which is minor because it was a small section of the steak. Wish there were also more normal size plate options as the "cheese dish" plates has more robust options?? Equally phenomenal in taste was a chocolate ice cream with some sort of caramelish smear, crisp and crumble dessert - 100% no issue there. Fantastic!
Micah H — Google review
We enjoyed a fabulous meal at the restaurant. From a warm welcome, to excellent service and food that was flavorful and beautifully presented. Our dinner exceeded expectations and we will be back.
Alicia M — Google review
Terrific in every way. Interesting menu and presentation. Attractive interior. Prompt and friendly service. Mushroom appetizer was excellent. Rabbit entree and side of bok choy were also great.
Paul W — Google review
I’ve found that restaurants lacking in flavor creativity have a common trick to make their food seem tastier; drench everything in oil. The bread used for the mushroom toast didn’t need to be soaked in oil before it was grilled, and the amount of butter sitting on the plate of raviolis (which were given a fancier name so they could charge more but it was basically squash ravioli) was stunning. The service was nice, and quick, but that can never make up for the food being subpar and overpriced. I don’t understand the hype. I had far better meals at prohibition pig and the blackback pub next door.

Doc Ponds is a trendy hangout spot in Stowe, known for its modern atmosphere, complete with a fireplace and patio. It's a popular apres-ski destination and is affiliated with the well-regarded farm-to-table restaurant nearby. The place exudes a groovy vibe with vinyl records on the walls and colorful snowboards on display. The menu features carefully crafted pub food like smoked carnitas tostada and Vermont half chicken.
Cool place spinning vinyl and serving up some good food. Friendliest staff that were attentive, but not hovering. Started with the chips and dip. Crunchy homemade chips with lots of great BBQ flavor seasoning. Cool onion dip. Just like in your backyard. Would like a little more dip to chip ratio, but I'm just being greedy! Mac and cheese was brilliantly gooey with a little breadcrumb crunch. The duck sandwich was crazy delicious. The bread was buttery and crispy. Duck was amazingly tender and the blueberry chutney balanced everything beautifully. The banh mi was a great take on a classic sandwich. The meatballs were tender, juicy and spiced perfectly. The fresh pickled veggies add a crunch and the cilantro ties it all together. Flavor explosion. The bread was also the right choice for this sandwich. Peanut butter pie. Enough said. Beer and cider selection was great! Not the prettiest of presentations, but the taste more than makes up for it. Go! 100% would go back.

Came to Vermont to catch the changing of color. Stopped by here for early dinner. There was a 20 mins wait for outdoor seating even at 5:00p so this must be a popular place. The chip and onion dip was delicious. The buffalo wings were moist and crispy. I had the half chicken with broccoli slaw. Chicken was a bit overcooked but tasted delicious. The broccoli was cooked perfectly and topped with pickled onions. Also, try the Irish Nitro Stout with it smooth foam. Great meal overall.

The food here was amazing! Got the Duck Confit Melt and the quality of meat was good as it was like a pulled pork but with duck on a bread with cheese as you would expect with a melt. Only thing that threw me off was the raisins though it doesn’t ruin the dish. The mac and cheese with crumbs on top was amazing as they use freshly grated cheese. The environment was nice, though I had two screaming kids in my ear which I can’t do anything about but crop dust them from thar Mac n cheese! Only downside was we tried to go at lunch and said they open at 4pm on Fridays. Highkey recommend.

Stopped in for a quick lunch before heading out from Stowe. Super yummy food! Really enjoyed the mac and cheese, chicken sandwich and corn chowder special. We'll definitely be back!

Our experience was phenomenal. The chicken was out of this world (more than enough for 2 people), the duck confit sandwich was great, the house chips and onion dip were wonderful.

A crazy busy restaurant, and you should expect a wait! That said the food is excellent, the cocktails are excellent. The sandwiches are pretty special and I’d definitely recommend the cheese fritters, and while the beer specials used to be better (I think they had $5 alchemist cans before), they always have some good local stuff

Excellent! Sat outside ..Delicious Maple beer Blue Cheese fritters and Burger were terrific . Husband had the fried chicken sandwich and Mac and cheese . So good ! Great place with friendly staff
Vicki L — Google review
My family and I went here on 7/15. Husband got the marinated mushrooms which he said were awesome. They did not have the cheddar fritters on the menu but were on the online version. My son and I both got the cheeseburgers. For $16 I would have figured they would have been more then an inch thick from top to bottom bun. Barely any lettuce or anything on them. Worst part was our daughter got the Mac and cheese. Came out in a skillet sliding around on a plate. Waitress said “be careful it’s a little hot” so we were careful not to touch it but about 5 minutes later my daughters arm accidentally brushed against the handle. She started to cry and it was a little red but quickly turned into a bad burn! “A little hot” caused a huge burn blister on her arm before we even left. If you are going to serve skillets, do what most restaurants do and put a handle coozie on it and use a more secure transport plate instead of sliding around in a plate. Needless to say very disappointed. Temperature safety should be a priority.

Nestled in the heart of Waterbury, Vermont, Stowe Street Café is a charming coffee shop that perfectly captures the local spirit. This mellow spot is ideal for enjoying a light breakfast or lunch before embarking on outdoor adventures like hiking or mountain biking. The café boasts an inviting atmosphere adorned with local arts and crafts, making it a delightful place to relax. Their extensive menu features everything from fresh salads and hearty sandwiches to protein bowls and delectable baked goods.
Thick eggs, fluffy English muffins (which I don't normally like), and flavorful sausage puts this in my top 5 breakfast sandwiches in the state. The cinnamon roll is very unique. Thin and crispier than normal and almost crystalized in sugar. I definitely recommend trying them.

This is a photo of the overcooked Belgian Waffle we were served. I’m not sure why the chef would actually put this on a plate to be served. Not 100% sure, but this waffle looked like it came right out the box and into the toaster. It’s pretty hard to overcook a waffle using modern day waffle makers. The biscuit / gravy and eggs were tasty. KC Bagels is the place to go for quick tasty bagels and SPACE to actually sit down and enjoy your breakfast.

Their breakfast sandwiches were incredible, pricey but delicious. The staff was really friendly and the food came out HOT which is fabulous. They have tons of indoor and outdoor seating.

Lovely coffee shop selling sandwiches, juices, smoothies, yogurt + granola, and local products (jewelry, cards, candles, stones). We were visiting from North Carolina and decided to try this place. Received a friendly greeting explaining how to order there. Ordered the grilled cheese (I added bacon, my wife just got the plain grilled cheese). Seeing all the ingredients were locally sourced, we knew we were in for a treat. The real treat was unexpected, though. It came with a side of greens, which typically are an afterthought. Not so, these were fresh and crispy greens and lightly coated with the most delicious dressing that I later found out was a white grapefruit balsamic. I would recommend this establishment to anyone. Have had good experiences here until today. I ordered online for pickup. There is an area that is clearly marked “pick up orders here”. I waited until >10 minutes after it was supposed to be ready and after I saw people who ordered in person after I arrived receive their food. I work in the area and was on a tight schedule. I checked in at the counter and was told that they hold hot orders at the counter, not at the pick up area (would be nice to have a sign to that effect). After the staff person rudely explained this to me, the cook realized that the order that had been sitting there for me was not at all what I had ordered. When I confirmed that, the staff person (again rudely) said “don’t worry, we will make you the right thing” and “ it WAS ready sitting up here.” When I finally got my food, it was half wrapped, falling out of a piece of foil that was too small. The icing on the cake was that it didn’t contain all the ingredients I ordered.

Slow. Not just a busy weekend slow, but disorganized, scattered, and frustrating. Multiple orders ahead of me had to be corrected further delaying mine. Plenty of patience for small local shops but not when they masquerade inflated prices and poor service as “charm”. Go to the bookstore instead and get a bagel around the corner at KCs.

Ice cream shop
Tours
Bakery
Ben & Jerry’s is a renowned ice cream parlor chain that originated in Vermont. The brand's factory in Burlington, Vt offers an immersive experience with a 30-minute movie, ice cream samples, photo opportunities, and a visit to the Flavor Graveyard where discontinued flavors are commemorated. At their campus down Route 100, visitors can take a factory tour ending with unique ice cream samples created by the resident 'Flavor Guru.'
The factory tour was so much fun, and the ice cream scoops (an extra cost) are absolutely huge!!! The tours are $6/ adult and $1/child - advance reservations are HIGHLY recommended (especially if you plan to visit during summer or a holiday weekend). A visit to the Flavor Graveyard is an absolute must! (This is not part of the tour, and is open and accessible for free.)
Ashleigh B — Google review
The guided 30-minute tour starts with a short and quirky video about Ben and Jerry's history and company values. Then you'll head to a glass-enclosed upper deck overlooking the production floor. Be aware that live production isn't always happening, so you may not see the factory in full swing. You have a chance to get a free sample of the flavor of the day. While the tour is short, there's plenty to do on the grounds. You can browse the gift shop for exclusive merchandise and flavors. The most popular highlight for many is the Flavor Graveyard, a hillside cemetery for discontinued flavors. There's also a playground for kids and picnic areas, making it a great spot to relax and enjoy ice cream.
Asiri B — Google review
A fun place to visit. They had almost all Ben n Jerry flavors available to order by scoop and customize further if you prefer. I thought they might have special flavors or early release flavors but they didn't have anything like that. It's still fun to mix and match from a lot of flavors. We got there late so we couldn't see the cemetery of flavors.

Sweet & Fun Ben & Jerry’s Factory Tour! A must for ice cream lovers! The tour was short but packed with fun facts, a peek at production, and of course, a delicious sample. Loved the Flavor Graveyard and gift shop too. The staff was upbeat, the vibe was joyful, and the ice cream? Perfect as always. Whether you’re a die-hard fan or just looking for a fun stop in Vermont, this tour is 100% worth it. Don’t forget to snap a pic with the giant flavor tub outside! 5 scoops out of 5—would tour (and taste) again! 🍦😊

Visiting Ben & Jerry’s factory in Vermont was a fun family experience, even though we couldn’t join the factory tour — tickets need to be booked ahead, or be ready to wait a few hours on busy days. We arrived in the morning and were offered a 1 p.m. slot, but being just passing through, we skipped it. Instead, we enjoyed fresh ice cream from their big on-site shop. The ice cream was delicious, and the staff were friendly, adding to the positive vibe. Afterward, we walked up the path to visit the quirky Flavor Graveyard, where past flavors are commemorated — a cute and funny stop that both kids and adults enjoyed. The on-site merch store is huge, filled with Ben & Jerry’s souvenirs, from shirts to mugs. Overall, even without the tour, it’s a fun and memorable stop, especially for families or ice cream fans passing through Vermont.
Dmitriy M — Google review
You can't go wrong with Ben & Jerry's ice cream! The factory tour is awesome - you get free ice cream & cookie dough piece samples! It's very informative & cool to get to know more about the company. Our tour guide, Linda was awesome. She was very personable & her jokes were on point! The line at the Scoop Shop is usually pretty crazy, so it may not be worth the wait as there are other shops you can purchase from. The flavor graveyard is pretty cool - you can get to know lots of the dearly depinted flavors! There is also a playground on site near the graveyard for kids to play.
Ariana G — Google review
This was a bucket list experience for a long time now. While I can't say I regularly eat Ben and Jerry's, I have bought and tried many of their flavors over the years. It is seriously good ice cream. This place is definitely a tourist location so be prepared for it being busy. While the factory tour itself is a little less than impressive, it was still neat to go though it. I justl love the quirkiness of Ben and Jerry's.
Brian D — Google review
Wonderful, family friendly tour experience. Linda was our guide and she was fantastic! - warm and friendly with the perfect amount of cheeky jokes. Samples are provided, with allergen free alternatives offered if needed. Be sure to visit the flavor graveyard while you're here too. Also a playground between the parking lots and main building for the kiddos. Lines for purchasing ice cream moved quickly despite seeming long. Clearly a well organized operation that cared about the visitors/customers! All staff were cheery, friendly, and helpful in the most genuine way.

Brewery

Bar
Nestled in the heart of Stowe, Idletyme Brewing Company is a must-visit for anyone looking to indulge in a delightful blend of craft brews and American comfort food. This beer-centric bistro boasts a warm atmosphere where you can savor European-style beers brewed on-site in stunning copper tanks. The menu features mouthwatering dishes like ale-battered fish and chips, oversized Bavarian pretzels served with hot beer cheese, and creamy mac and cheese made with Vermont cheddar.
We stopped there for a quick drink and ended up getting some food as well. You ABSOLUTELY have to get those crunchy cheese balls, they were delicious. The beer flight was excellent, and the burger and Reuben were great! We sat on the bar and had a blast of a service. 🍻
Liran T — Google review
The food was fairly good but not reaching 5 stars in my opinion. The beer flight featured some classic/basic styles of beer - all of them were fresh although tasted fairly plain to me but fine to go with a meal and interesting to try anyway. The Vermont Cheddar Fritters were really good and I enjoyed them together with the sauce. The wings with shriracha-buffalo sauce and blue cheese dressing did not match my taste unfortunately. The lady at the bar/tap was really welcoming. Overall no regrets and the place is good but next time I’d look for something else.
Alexey S — Google review
Excellent relaxing patio dinner. The cheddar fritters were crunchy and gooey and the chipotle aioli was the perfect sauce on top! Chili was great and went next level when I added it to my Vermont mac n cheese! Husband had the burger and raved about the onion bacon jam. Patio area was beautiful on a crisp fall nice and we enjoyed an after dinner warm mulled cider by the fire pits! Great spot.
Tiffany R — Google review
Our favorite meal that we had not just in Stowe, but in Vermont! We had the Vermont Cheddar Fritters which were insane, and the jalapeño aioli was delicious. The Potato Leak Soup was incredible, which was the soup special of the night. So much flavor. And, finally, the best Fish and Chips we’ve ever had. The service was also 10/10.
Amanda G — Google review
The Burger was Very Good, The Reuben was too dry, needed more kraut and thousand island dressing on it. The Meat didn't seem the freshest but it was still good. Sandwiches are $18-20 each. Fries were good. Beer was Excellent! Service was a little slow but acceptable. We sat inside and the air temp was warmer than I expected but still cooler than the outside temp. Would have been 5 stars if the Reuben wasn't dry/lean on the Kraut and the service was a little quicker. I'm sure the staff was busy. I would go back.
Ryan — Google review
This was probably the best dinner spot we went to in Stowe, VT for fish n chips. We went around 5pm on a Saturday expecting a long wait for two but got lucky with a spot inside. Very friendly and attentive staff. Got the wings appetizer which was full of flavor reminding me of a curry dry rub served with buttermilk ranch. Wings were not too greasy and came with about 6-8 wings. The Fish n Chips take the cake as they give you two large portions of fish with fries. You can tell they clean their fryer often, if not everyday as the batter has the best crunch and taste I’ve ever had. Plenty of meat as they do a great job of not putting too much batter on the fish. Coleslaw was lack luster if you’re used to sweet coleslaw, you’ll be disappointed as it lacks flavor. I would highly recommend if you’re wanting high quality fish.

Nice spot for a good meal. Beware of the bees if you sit outside. Patio is dog friendly. Food portions are LARGE. Cheese fritters were delicious and unusual.
Candy T — Google review
This place hits all the right spots. Stopped in for lunch. Service was outstanding. The food was excellent. Cool, inside seating or outdoor patio available. We had the Ruben Sandwich, the Veggie Burger, a side of Mac and cheese (kid's portion!) and some of the bacon-cider braised kale and beans. There were some hidden gems that added a twist to what would normally be standard fair. The Ruben has a pepper relish that added some crunch and a little heat. The meat to cheese to slaw ratio was perfectly balanced. There was some acid from the relish that elevated the sandwich. This is an amazing dish. The veggie burger has some great crunch added with the onion to balance the soft patty. Great bun that was soft and helped to absorb the flavors. The braised kale with the beans also have a little heat. A little sweetness. The kale was cooked perfectly not crunchy and not mushy. The broth has an exceptional lingering smokey flavor. Fries were crispy and rustic. Mac and cheese noodles were al dente with a rich, creamy sauce. Simple dishes done very well. 100% would go back.

The Bench is a rustic bar and grill with a mountain cabin vibe that offers a variety of comfort food and craft beer options. After an active day, visitors can refuel with wood-fired pizzas, burgers, smoked wings, and hearty entrees like meatloaf with mashed potatoes. The establishment boasts over twenty beers on tap, focusing on local craft brews, as well as cocktails and wine. Customers can enjoy their meals in the spacious dining area or the cozy back bar.
We had dinner here after a long day of walking. Glad that we came early at 5:30p because the dining room filled up fast. Our server Jennifer was friendly, courteous, professional and made great recommendations. I ordered the BBQ ribs which were moist and the meat fell off the bones. It was delicious. My wife ordered the duck confit. The duck was cooked to perfection in a cast iron pan. The meat was tender and juicy. We also had a fabulous side order of Caesar kale salad. It was an overall fantastic meal.
Teddy C — Google review
American comfort food. We like the meatloaf, ½ rack of ribs, ½ duck and duck fat fries. The meatloaf is tasty, not dry and a huge slice served on large portion of mashed potatoes with gravy and grilled vegetables on the side – it does not need the French fried onions so just push those to the side. The ½ duck is slightly better than the ½ rack of ribs. The ribs fall off the bone but the sauce is pretty standard. Skip the lobster ravioli. The food is good but it’s nothing spectacular.

The Bench in Stowe, Vermont, is such a cozy and welcoming spot! From the moment you walk in, the warm, rustic vibe makes you feel right at home. The menu is full of delicious comfort food, and you can really taste the quality and care in every dish. Their wood-fired pizzas are amazing, with perfectly crisp crusts and fresh toppings, and the burgers are juicy and satisfying. They also have a great selection of local craft beers, wines, and cocktails, which makes it a fun place to relax with friends or family. The staff are friendly, attentive, and genuinely make the experience enjoyable. Whether you’re stopping by after a day of skiing or hiking in Stowe, or just want a casual dinner in a relaxed atmosphere, The Bench hits the mark. It’s the kind of place where you can linger over your meal, chat comfortably, and feel like part of the community. The combination of tasty food, local drinks, and welcoming service makes it a must-visit when you’re in town.

This place was easy walking distance from our stay. We waited just over an hour after 730 for a table. I would recommend reservations especially during peak seasons. It was worth the wait! The potine was savory and comforting on a cold day. Mom and I shared the salmon with roasted vegetables which was also delicious!! Mom had a local lager, while I oped for the upside-down lemon drop, which thankfully was not served upside-down!! Erin was our server and was a delight!!! Highly recommend!

Another winner! I was starving but my bench burger was just fantastic! Cooked perfectly medium. Ordered the duck fat fries but in a blind table taste test nobody could tell the difference. The salmon burgers were devoured too! The only loser of the night was the nachos. They were tasty but nachos should be smothered in toppings these were like diet nachos. Drinks were good too. Service was great! Fast friendly and kept water glasses full, a great sign of attention to detail. Over a strong A Ps. The host was nice but could used a little more happy energy

It also boasts an impressive beverage selection, including a variety of Vermont craft beers on tap, creative cocktails, and a thoughtfully curated wine list.

Lot of options available. We tried the pizza and the chicken ceaser wrap and noth were good. They have a good variety of non-alcoholic beverages. The ginger brew was refreshing! Ample parking available

Awesome service and atmosphere. Came here on a Thursday night around 5pm for two as we just beat the rush to the door, however the only option for seating without a wait was by the bar. No complaints with that if you don’t mind watching them cook using the giant brick oven they use for pizzas and other dishes. I got the Bench Burger and take home sausage with cheese pizza. The staff was a nice lady who was amazing at checking in on us. The Bench Burger was okay, it seemed pretty dry and lacked flavor and condiments. The pizza was mid. I feel as though they need more sauce as I expected more from a brick oven pizza

Sushi Yoshi is a vibrant and lively spot that offers a diverse menu featuring popular dishes from various Asian cuisines, including pad thai, spicy sesame chicken, and an array of specialty sushi rolls. However, the main attraction is the hibachi experience where skilled chefs prepare your meal right before your eyes on tableside grills.
Top restaurant !! Please take the Hibashi experience you won’t regret it ! Went there twice, the waiters are very friendly. The chef’s have a show when you order the Hibashi that is unforgettable, amazing skills. Don’t know how to describe the taste of the food, it’s amaaaaaazing. The portions are also generous. Here are some photos of the steak and chicken hibashi that comes with 2 shrimps + vegetable and your choice of rice or noodles or both. I also pictured some appetisers we got that were excellent. Thank you ! 💯😮‍💨

This was the third place we went to after the first two having too long of waits. We were told a 15-20 minute wait. 40 minutes later, we were finally seated. I can definitely look past it, it was a busy Friday night. What I can't look past is how rude our waiter was. She was very short and blunt and had overall awful customer service. She unfortunately got her karma when another neglectful waiter spilled her drinks on the floor and left it there, leaving our waiter to slip in it and drop a whole table worth of food. Aside from that, this place does not offer hibachi at the regular tables! You can only order hibachi at the grills, which is so unusual. This is the only reason I came. The food, so bland! Sushi roll tasted like nothing, fried rice was subpar.

Excellent all around. The staff are extremely professional and attentive to the experience of the diner. Even during times if high volume, the service is there for every part of the meal. We will return for hibachi and update the review. I expect good things.

Disappointing Experience Went to this hibachi place and it took forever for them to even start cooking our food. The chef went to help another table that was seated after us before finishing with ours. We barely saw our waiter the whole time, and the service overall was terrible. When the food finally came out, it wasn’t even tasty. Definitely not worth the wait or the price.

Plate is a popular restaurant in Stowe, offering California-inspired dishes and craft cocktails in a rustic yet chic setting. The menu features locally sourced ingredients, including seared beef tenderloin, apple cider-brined roast chicken, gnocchi, and salads with hazelnuts and cranberries. The restaurant strikes a balance between comfort food like burgers and matzoh ball soup and more adventurous options such as artichoke mousses and juniper-brined pork with mustard spaetzel.
Stopped into Plate and grabbed a seat at the bar—really glad I did. The service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The location is perfect, right in the heart of Stowe, making it a great place to relax after walking around town. Cozy atmosphere, and the vibe at the bar made it easy to settle in and enjoy. Tough review. If this was based on food alone, I would have to say this place is simply brilliant, serving some of the best dishes I've had in recent memory. A 5 Star meal worth every penny. And, we were told when we were seated that they were having some issues with the Internet, having to close out checks using a hot spot. Not a big deal from our perspective. This may have caused a hiccup in their quality service that they were just not able to get passed. We were seated at our reservation time and 10 minutes in were asked for our drink order. We informed our server that we could also order our food. We ordered a bottle of wine, two appetizers, a salad and two main dishes. Then we didn't see our server again until the 35 minutes mark when we asked someone to find her. We cancelled our bottle of wine ($145) and requested two ciders ($16), hoping they could be a faster option. They arrived within 5 minutes. The atmosphere was one of chaos. It seemed the kitchen was calm and collected, not aware that the rest of the staff seemed to rush by tables without a glance. They seemed to be running to catch up to something. And our server was decidedly absent for the remainder of our meal. Then the food arrives. Pure brilliance. Flavors balanced. Textures and execution are masterful. The garlic and Parmesan souffle with basil cream is a flawless version of the classic dish. Amazingly tender and fluffy with hints of salt from the cheese. The blistered shishito peppers were expertly prepared with a mint creme fraiche. Such a simple dish elevated to the next level. The Jamie's on Grain salad was sheer genius. The cranberry add a little sweetness while the maple vinaigrette adds a beautiful element of acid. Crunch of the pumpkin seeds and the tender pieces of sweet potatoes create a texture balance that was appreciated. The veggie burger was delicious! Delectable. Grilled pork tenderloin was surprisingly savory considering the sweet potato, brown butter and grilled peaches. Pork was tender and juicy. The peaches were a star here, adding a little sweet/tart element to balance everything out. Our server swung by as we were finished and asked how everything tasted... While our empty plates sat on the table for several more minutes, we flagged down a woman that took our plates, wipes our table and offered us dessert menus. She didn't appear to be a server and was the only calming element in front of house. We ordered the peanut butter cup. And this is the right decision! Might be the best I've had. We had a couple of glasses of port and then checked out. The bill process being super quick and simple. Could have just been an off night for service. I will say that the couple of times we talked with her, she was super delightful. Just lacking the same quality of service as we had with the food. Hit-and-miss. Food might get me back, but everything else makes this a one-and-done.

A New York priced place in Stowe. It was beautiful and artisanal but even in New York I wouldn’t pay $25 for a burger unless it’s from a steak house. Even Michelin starred ramen restaurants I didnt pay $35 for pork ramen. The pork was tough but the noodles were chewy and didn’t taste like they came from a ramen packet thank god. But that was the direction they were going in with this. The cocktails were so small and we were drinking them down so quickly that we had two $25 drinks before our meals even came. Nice for a date or a romantic dinner but don’t go hungry or if you’re looking to get a bunch of cocktails
Katie C — Google review
Plate had a mix of delicious and creative cocktails along with scrumptious food options. We shared the corn fritters, salad mix, Jamie’s on grain, bar steak, and halibut! The halibut, Jamie’s on grain, and corn fritters were stand outs for me! They all were an exquisite mix of flavor but nothing too overwhelming. The fritters are such a simple shareable but oh so tasty with the hot honey glazing them to add sweetness! Sit at the bar, the bartenders are superb and the cocktails top notch! We tried their seasonal options and all of them hit the mark!
Hannah G — Google review
Doubt we will return. What? What did you say? I said we won’t go back because we couldn’t hear each other over the noise and a couple of very loud patrons. Despite the mixed reviews, we decided to try Plate. Given the need for reservations and prices, we were expecting elevated dining. The restaurant is small with maybe a dozen tables and about equal amount of bar space. Everyone was dressed very casually favoring plaid shirts and blue jeans. The menu is limited. The fried oysters tasted like a hush puppies and none of us could see or taste an oyster. The sushi tuna salad – who cut this tuna? I’m quite sure a 5 year old with a dull knife could do a better job (see photo). The pasta tasted homemade and was served topped with large shaved pieces of parmesan – artsy but I would have preferred parmesan be freshly grated at the table. I enjoyed the pasta but my friend did not like it at all. The strip steak was tasty and cooked perfectly – as far as steaks go, it was good but definitely not one of those truly great steaks. The arepas just sat there on the plate looking completely out of place – it seemed like they were added to be able to claim it was fusion. We were really looking forward to the pan fried potatoes but they were mushy – nothing crispy about them. With only 4 stalks, grilled broccolini was a battle to grab and I lost but I was told they were amazing. We were very pleased that we were able to get ample water and drinks. Overall the service was good and attentive but not very friendly. But none of that matters if it’s so noisy that you can’t hear each other!

Okay, first off I’d recommend making a reservation well in advance of your trip. We lucked out and were able to be seated at the bar when they opened at 5:30pm but I’m telling you that you might not eat here if you don’t make a reservation. The drinks were superb and made by a wonderful mixologist named Mike who calls himself a bartender bc he’s so unpretentious. These cocktails are thoughtful and made with precision. We shared a bunch of starters and salads which were all phenomenal. Then we shared two entrees: the halibut and the bar steak. Both excellent. Service from Mike and his colleague (unsure of her name) were top notch. So glad we were able to have a meal and drinks here while in Stowe- chefs kiss*

Great brunch spot in Waterbury! It has a nice classic American charm! There was a little bit of a wait since they were quite busy. They have bar seating options as well as table seating. I'm VERY picky about my home fries. When I say this, I mean it- I have never had home fries as good as these. Seasoning was top teir, they were so crispy and delicious. The banana bread French toast was soooo good, super filling and flavorful. Had notes of cinnamon and nutmeg. The bacon was a crispy, with a thicker cut. The pancakes had awesome flavor but could have been fluffier for me, personally. But the flavor made up for it. The hot cider hit the spot! Fresh and steaming.

Definitely a good place to stop for breakfast. Just one extra note: It's right at the traffic circle. We missed it & had to come back. As you go around the circle, one of the exits sort of goes right into their parking lot. The restaurant itself had a Vermont like feel to it. Our server was Zoey, and she was very sweet. She also was on top of refilling my husband's coffee cup. There were lots of choices for breakfast. I had the banana bread French toast (see picture) & my husband had the little river breakfast, which had Vermont cheddar mixed into the eggs ( see picture). Both were delicious.

Walked in and was not greeted at all hostess and other looked at us with total disgust that we were there. Long wait time to sit in a very gross very loud chaotic mess of a restaurant. Bathrooms were some of the worst i have seen in my life. Our waitress was the one person in there that treated us with kindness she is the only one w black hair she saved our experience. The food was very good but the place was so gross it made me question eating the whole time. I really cannot believe how rude and disgusting it was but if you are determined to have real vermont maple syrup it is worth the hell i guess.

Very nice restaurant, loved it! 😃👍 Stopped by here for some breakfast food today. The building is in good shape on the exterior , and on the inside as well. They keep their restaurant nice and neat. Alot of warm colors and landscape paintings found within. Nice cozy place to stop in and have some breakfast or lunch. the service here was topnotch, the waitress Nicole did a great job taking our order as well as the accuracy of our order when the food came out. We didn't have to ask for anything , she already was on top of it. Today we tried their " pulled pork sandwich , side of fries with coleslaw" , " biscuits and gravy" , " stuffed french toast", " Cuban sandwich with potato chips" The food came out promptly and delicious. The cook did such a great job with the food, thanks Maxi's for the great experience. We would love to stop by again and try something else on your menu if in the area. Thanks for checking out my review and have a wonderful day! 😃😁

Ended up opting for the Mountain Hash, made with homemade corn beef hash. It was very good and just enough. Dad had the standard (for him) vegetable omelet which he also enjoyed. They were busy so service was a bit slow which was not a problem for us. Might be an issue if you wanted something fast.

Wonderful meal! Love this full service option. Last time we were there it was order at the bar after Covid. This was a great experience! Quickly seated, friendly and helpful staff, awesome food. Fabulous buffalo chicken sandwich-very tasty. My Stowe Local salad with grilled chicken was spectacular. Pomegranate seeds avocado lots of other seeds and loads of spinach. The maple vinaigrette was delicious. I could have this every day! Loved the mountain biking vibe and shop too.

Pleasantly surprised! Stowe can be hit or miss but Ranch Camp was great. Service was friendly and food was great. NACHOS!!! best around by far, pulled pork and huge. We tried a bunch of other dishes but the nachos were the difference maker enjoy!
J R — Google review
Ranch Camp is part bike store, part restaurant/bar. I want to spend more time at both. To sound like a nerd, the thing that grabbed the most of my attention was the stylish nature of some of the bike helmets. I noticed this before I took a gander at the menu. The menu, the menu! Two different selections of fries made it a hard choice to pick only one carb, but the Friendly Fries were a definite win. The two different dipping sauces that came with the Friendly Fries were great. The sweet potato fries were fried and salted to taste, and provided an excellent platform to deliver the flavor sauces that came with it. The portion size of the food is something to write about and notice. The Cobb Salad was healthy, designed for afternooners who are coming back from a hike or a bike ride. The pulled chicken, along with the bacon, gave it good texture along with the rest of the salad. Gluten-free options were available, and their drink selection provided a few options for the person who is gluten-conscious. I'd say that it's hard for a business to run two separate functions, but somehow, Ranch Camp does it. One last thing before you finish reading, if you plan on staying in the Stowe area for longer than 3 days, you may want to come back here to try some of the other menu items. It all looked so good...

Where Vegans, Vegetarians and carnivors can all co-exist! The options are endless. Great food for a great prices. A beautiful 15 minute walk from downtown Woodstock and every bit worth the trip! We were starving, and ordered the regular nachos (no meat cuz were vegetarians), and just look at how much food you get! We were stuffed And rest assured there were so many vegan options on the menu! It was so good were coming back for dinner! Eat here....you will not regret it!

I rented a full suspension bike to ride in Cady Hill. The singletracks starts right out of the parking lot. Good and kind service. Good selection of bikes. Enjoyed the ride immensely. Didn't try the food.

Ranch Camp is where birds of a feather flock together after riding their bike. From the the outside we could see tons of cars, trucks, and buses driving past, but we were halfway to the moon after enjoying the nachos. Just like my Mexican cousin makes. If I could, I would order them again. The falafel? Simple, but complex and the sauce hit every flavor like a symphony...something I'd been waiting all night for. We loved the local beers to wash it all down. Our host and server were great. They didn't talk very much, but were very profound. Being open at 3 on a Monday in the fall was great. I was ready for party time. When the sun slipped behind Mount Mansfield, we were fully surrendered to the flow of the leaf peepers. For good food, good people, and that golden Vermont glow, Ranch Camp if you dare.

We went for dinner and had no reservation, but were immediately seated. There were lots of options, all of which sounded great. The crunch wrap was huge and tasted amazing, the burger was cooked perfectly and super juicy. The cheesecake we had as a dessert was also delicious. Service was great, the food came in no time, and the main dishes were under 20$. Absolutely recommend!

Stone's Throw Pizza & Wine offers a unique twist on classic pizzas, with combinations like the Love Shak featuring shakshuka sauce and the Banh Mizza with Vietnamese pickles. The restaurant has an impressive cocktail program and a decent wine selection. Visitors appreciate the attentive manager, Rachael, and the cozy yet creatively decorated ambiance that feels like a well-appointed living room.
This is one of my favorite Stones locations. I always feel like I’m somewhere else, like a big city, when I am inside. As always the pizza is incredible and the small plates are delicious. The drinks by Rachel are UNREAL, whether you enjoy cocktails or mocktails, each one is made with care. The decor and details in the space make it a wonderful place to hang out for a while. Go!

Ordered a small cheese pizza to get an honest assessment. It looked great. Taste wise….. It was a little above average but still nothing special. The dough was light and the pizza cooked well but I thought the dough had a bland chalky taste to it. Decent sauce and cheese.

We absolutely loved this place! The pizza was incredible, one of the best we've had, and the staff was super nice abd attentive. We also tried the Borata salad and it was superb. The space is beautiful, not overly packed, great lighting so you can actually see your food (not obvious at restaurants these days). We did need to wait a long time (30-40 minutes) so it might be best to make reservations or call ahead

Wonderful food and atmosphere. Perfect place for dinner with family or drinks with friends. They have unique seating and a lot of bar seats, plus gourmet style pizzas that are reasonably priced. The staff is amazing!! Definitely need to check this place out if you’re in Waterbury.

During our trip to Vermont, we found this amazing place; where the atmosphere is as captivating as the food. Starting from the host to the waiters, everyone was very kind and friendly. To take our order, the waiter took her time to introduce her favorites to us. Nice place to have dinner and enjoy some drinks.

This pizza is so good. We got the za'atar bread, and the whipped feta and tomato sauces were fire. The Buffalo Chicken Pizza was amazing and a large is definitely too much for us 2. The vibes in here were great, and the staff was very helpful.

Five Starts ALL THE WAY. Sumptuous build-out, elegant and comfortable bar topped by Professional Grade Service. It’s a great spot for a date, meeting friends or enjoy with your whole family. We ordered 3-4 pies-all hand-crafted and it shows. Our Server graciously guided us to a few of the specials. No wrong tern here:::: Enjoy!

Harrison's Restaurant is a cozy tavern located in Stowe, offering homestyle American cuisine with creative local twists. The rustic interiors feature wood and stone, creating an elegant yet warm atmosphere. Situated in the historic Carlson Building, this family-owned restaurant is known for its top-rated fine dining experience. The menu includes seafood, steak, pasta, and seasonal offerings such as mussels in cream sauce and pecan-crusted salmon.
We visited Harrison’s from out of state at the recommendation of others and it did not disappoint! We had drinks, chicken piccata, NY strip (cooked to perfection), and the cream puff dessert. We completely cleaned our plates! Bartender provided great service and was very friendly. We met “Mags” on the ski lift at Stowe who is friends with the owners.

Review: A Fantastic Dinner at The Harrison We had a wonderful dinner at The Harrison. The ambience is absolutely amazing—though the dining area is in the basement, it’s beautifully decorated and doesn’t feel stuffy at all. The service was equally impressive; our server was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. For food, my wife had the calamari, which was fantastic, while I started with the Brie and jam—it was delicious. I also tried the duck wings as a starter, which were excellent. For my main course, I had the pistachio-crusted venison, and it was the highlight of the night—perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. Overall, the dishes were well-priced, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the experience was excellent. We’ll definitely be returning!

This is a nice restaurant with a small but excellent menu. We sat outside on the patio since the inside was completely booked weeks ahead. We were able to be seated within 30 minutes. Service was ok, but not what I’d expect from such a pricey restaurant. Our waiter was friendly and took good care of us. The food took a long time to come out, but we were wowed when it did. Beautiful presentation on all dishes. And every meal was outstanding! The butternut squash soup was the soup special for the night and it was amazing! Our main dishes were the mushroom ravioli, glazed salmon, and pork chop special. All were delicious and perfectly portioned.

This is a hidden gem in Stowe! In the basement of a store the vibe is incredible mixing cozy with upscale! The warm atmosphere sets the tone for the delectable food that follows! Sharing the crab cakes, bread, beet salad, harvest salad the crab cakes and beet salad were top choices! All the food was fresh and extremely well seasoned. For entrees the stand outs were the pistachio crusted venison! Hands down a table pleaser! This is not your typical venison, it is lean, easy to bite, and the pistachio crusted venison adds an incredible crunch! Cannot recommend this enough one of the best red meat entrees I’ve ever tried! Harrison’s is a great stop in Stowe for a group dinner or date night!

The food was decent, though not exceptional. The atmosphere was alright — it’s located in a basement, which may not be for everyone. Service was fine and staff were polite. Overall, a solid experience, but there’s room for improvement.

Excellent food and friendly attentive service. Seasonal Roasted Beet Salad - just the right combination of ingredients(beats, grams, pear, goat cheese, vinaigrette) in the right proportions so that they worked perfectly with each other with none of them overpowering the others. Crayfish and Crab Cakes - nice flavorful lumps of crab meat with just the right amount of sauce and just a dusting of Old Bay Seasoning. Pistachio Crusted Venison - I don’t usually like blue cheese in my food but the out ended up being the right flavor for the meat, pistachios, and sauce. Profiteroles - the fudge is between a ganache and pudding, rich dark and not too sweet.

We came up to Stowe for our first visit. We came to the restaurant on a Friday night and sat at the bar with Jenn the bartender. She was fantastic. Very attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. We went At 4:30 and were able to get six seats at the bar. We had multiple appetizers drinks and dinner dinners. We also had dessert. Every single thing we ordered was excellent. Our group really enjoyed the tuna and the shared oysters. One of the favorite meals was the pork chop. I was very happy to find a restaurant that had profiteroles. My favorite dessert. They were also excellent. Wish I could give more than five stars, that’s how happy we were with this meal.

High praise for Kelsey who appeared to be hostess, runner, and problem solver! Wife and I were celebrating our 25th and Kelsey dealt with an issue (no fault of restaurant) that could have led to a disappointing evening. Instead, she turned our night out into something we will long remember. Great customer service like that is hard to find no matter how much you spend or where you go. We loved the romantic atmosphere, the old jazz, and the outstanding food (venison was best I've had).

The Whip Bar & Grill, located at the Green Mountain Inn in Stowe, offers a warm and inviting atmosphere where guests can savor elevated American cuisine and a selection of microbrews. The restaurant pays tribute to the town's rich history while offering a menu filled with dishes made from locally sourced Vermont ingredients. From pulled pork BBQ and VT goat cheese egg rolls to classic roasted turkey dinner, the culinary offerings are both comforting and innovative.
I believe the last time I was here was with my Dad nearly 40 years ago. It's very much the same from what I can remember. Dark tones, jazz playing in the background. A nice upscale dining experience. Chefs are all behind glass, working diligently making tasty dishes. The honey oat bread is addictive. The Maple buffalo wings have a great sweet taste that leaves your lips with a slight burn. Spinach and avocado dip with pita chips is also a great appetizer. My daughter liked the whip bar steak while my son loved the taste of the French dip. The Vermont cheddar chicken was flavorful and crispy. My wife thought the roast prime pork chop was cooked perfectly, which lots of flavor. Definitely a nice meal in a relaxing atmosphere.

Went here for our anniversary for the third year in a row. Everything was amazing and they wrote us this card that was so sweet.🥹 Potato soup and Caesar salad to start were phenomenal. The whip steak and special steak frites were delicious for our entrees. We ended the dinner with the blueberry apple crumb pie and a double espresso. Our server Ruby was awesome! Always reccomend the Whip and I hope one day they bring the turkey dinner back on the menu!

We dined here twice recently while staying at the Green Mountain Inn. Both meals were delicious. Our first night we had the halibut and trout specials, that were prepared to perfection and included delicious accompanying sauces. The second night we enjoyed a spinach & artichoke dip appetizer, and steak au poivre and simply grilled fillet for our entrees. We ordered our steaks medium and they were superbly cooked. The cozy upstairs dining room features a fireplace and the downstairs offers additional seating as well as outdoor patio seating. Our server was Matej who was fantastic!
Karen S — Google review
Unfortunately, the meal was below average and so disappointing. The steak was not even as good as what you can get at Outback. For those prices, I'd expect much better quality. The mashed potatoes were a tasteless lump. The server didn't check in at all after we got our food. When we finished and he finally came back, we asked about dessert for the kids. He just said that the chef was done. It would've been nice to have some warning and an opportunity to order more. As a former waitress, I thought that was bizarre. We definitely won't be going back.

WOW! First of all, the staff were absolutely amazing, from the hostess to our server and even the chef in the kitchen right by where we were seated. Everyone was super kind to our little daughter and they even set out a card wishing my husband a happy birthday! The meal was exquisite; unique, flavorful and super luxurious-feeling. The atmosphere is amazing as well. We just had such a wonderful night; we will absolutely be returning, and with some of our family when they come to visit!

Tucked next to The Green Mountain Inn, this bar has some great ambiance, dark-toned furniture, and dimmer lighting that puts one in a cozy and relaxing mood. After a day of driving and hiking the area you're sure to find yourself hungry and in need of a crisp, locally made cider to help you appreciate your fun-filled day. If cider is not your thing, then there is a well-stocked bar and a draft lift to accompany it; you're sure to find something. The Whip Burger is cooked to order and is dressed with only one house condiment, which is really all that the burger needs. Made with local ingredients, it is flavorful as it is rich; the fries were well cut and fried to a crisp perfection. After you're done, go for a stroll on the Stowe Recreation Path; watch the sunset, pet a dog, and enjoy the breathtaking views of Vermont.

Amazing place, superb service and looks like locals love to hang out there as well, which is always a great sign!!! We stayed at the Inn and visited the Whip on each day. First night we had Fish special of the day, great choice. Next night we stopped for espresso and an amazing Creme Brulee for desert. On the last night we stopped for some drinks and ended up getting wings appetizer dish, maple bourbon flavor. OMG 😍😍😍 definetly should try them!!! Staff in the dining room and the Bar were super friendly!!!

Brewery
Restaurant
Von Trapp Brewery & Bierhall is an Austrian-inspired beer hall located at the Trapp Family Lodge in Vermont. It was founded by the youngest von Trapp son, drawing inspiration from Austria to bring a taste of Austrian lager beers to Vermont's craft beer scene. The brewery offers signature lagers and classic plates in a modern rustic setting. Visitors can enjoy the outdoor beer garden with views of the picturesque grounds reminiscent of the von Trapps' mountainous homeland.
7/16/25—After our 15-minute stop at the Von Trapp Lodge, everyone was hungry, so we headed to a nearby brewery. We timed it perfectly—just 15 minutes after we arrived, buses started pulling in, and people began flooding the place. We sat outside, and while it was a bit hot, they made sure to keep us well-hydrated, and even brought water for Rambo, my dog. Our waiter, Seth, was quick to greet us and take our order. I have to say, everything we had was excellent. I ordered the hamburger, and it was delicious, the fries were superb, and the mini salads were so fresh and healthy. The inside of the place was lovely too—it felt like we were having lunch in Austria for a brief moment. A great experience all around
Marilyn M — Google review
Stopped in to enjoy some tasty Austrian brews and fresh snacks on the beautiful and legendary grounds. We weren’t very hungry and couldn’t stay long, so we ordered a crisp lager, a shaved radish salad, and von Trapp pretzels with house mustards and beer cheese. The beer was cold and refreshing, the pretzels soft and salty, and the beer cheese absolutely knocked it out of the park. But the real star of the show was the shredded radish salad. Much to our surprise, this dish was a visual and culinary delight, a creative display of daikon, watermelon, and red radishes, lightly dressed with lemon oil and salt flakes. It was incredibly fresh and flavorful, and my daughters and I loved it! The ambiance of the bierhall is fantastic featuring large windows, tasteful taxidermy, and timber architecture all set against a scenic backdrop. If you’re in the area, definitely stop in and check it out!

10/9/25 My husband, and I were traveling through Vermont on our way to Maine and made a stop at this brewery. I’ve known nothing about this gem until I went inside and realized this is the family behind the movie? “Sound of music.” I kind of was in shock, but in a good way, I kept reading more of the book they had on display in the gift shop, very interesting book indeed. We didn’t stay for food, as we just came to try out the beers on tap. They don’t offer flights so we ordered a variety to be able to try some. The brewery is quite large and lively. They do allow pets outside with their picnic tables. Although the ground is mainly gravel, so not perfect for pets paws, but their tables make for a good environment. It took a while to get our beers, but they were tasty and worth the wait. It was such a unique experience and we hope to return again in the future, next time to enjoy their food.
World T — Google review
My boyfriend and I came down from Smugglers’ Notch Resort to check out the disc golf course at the Trapp Family Lodge — I grew up watching The Sound of Music and absolutely insisted we stop here! I joked that it felt like we were disc golfing in Austria, since that’s why the family moved to this area (at least according to the movie!). We arrived without reservations, but the man up front was so kind and helpful — he managed to get us two seats at the bar, even though they weren’t originally right next to each other. The only little disappointment was that they don’t offer beer flights, though I’m sure there’s a reason for it! That said, they do have nice sampler sizes, so we each got two and shared. We ordered the pretzel and the Austrian potato salad (which is now my new favorite potato salad ever!). The pretzel was amazing, and all the dipping sauces at the bar were incredible — highly recommend trying them all. Our server, Justin, was super friendly and even humored me when I asked about the von Trapp family descendants and whether they ever come in! Forest was also incredibly sweet and helpful. Such great staff all around. I absolutely loved this place — it felt like a little childhood dream come true being there!

Very nice set up here and really enjoyed my first visit. As the designated driver, I did not partake of the spirits, but my partners in crime assured me it was quite good. One chose a flight of four samples and the other chose the IPA. There is a great deal of history associated with the property.
Larry A — Google review
My wife and I and another couple stopped here for a beer, the place is really nice and it has nice views, but there was only one guy pouring beer for a giant bar and it must’ve taken 20 minutes to get a beer and another 20 minutes, waiting for a simple pretzel. It’s a nice place but the service was really poor on that day. To be fair, there was a pretty good size bus parked outside, but it didn’t look that busy inside just somehow disorganized. It’s a pass for me.
Scott B — Google review
Great place to relax a little, grab some good food, and enjoy a beer or two, but get here early because it gets crowded fast. Cheese board is tasty, with crackers, jam, olives, and meats. Cheese soup was decent and the spatzle is amazing.
Kenneth B — Google review
Very conveniently located on. The resort grounds. Just enough separated for a change of scenery. Dinner then lunch on 2 separate occasions. First time: service and food was good. Second time: service was great and burger was good. Salad selected was visually appealing but flavor was not to my taste. Expected an Asian dressing but it was close to a dill flavor. To each his own but could not give Bierhall the max amount of stars.

The menu showcases handcrafted dishes that change regularly to highlight the best seasonal ingredients.
Having read some recent reviews, I was a little concerned but am very glad that we decided to dine at The Bistro at Ten Acres. We all had delicious meals and excellent service. We were there on the weekend during the winter kids school vacation week, so the restaurant was busy. The atmosphere was relaxing and we did not wait very long for anything from the moment we entered the restaurant. The Pomegranate Martinis were excellent. My daughter and I both had the Chicken Estelle but substituted mashed potatoes for the Rice Pilaf. We both thought it was delicious. My husband enjoyed the Trapps Bohemian Pilsner said his hamburger was also very good. I highly recommend this restaurant and we will definitely go back again when visiting Stowe.

I had the chicken Estelle and it was just okay. The sauce wasn’t great. the rice was good, but spicy. Others had the salmon which was good and the burger. It wasn’t fantastic, Just okay. But too expensive for just okay. The food also took over 40 minutes to come to the table.

Terrible experience here - on a Sunday night, my family came in to an almost empty restaurant - there were two other families dining in a pretty large space. The host didn't even look us as she mumbled something, when we asked her to clarify, she was asking if we had a reservation. When we said no, she sighed, looked at the seating chart and walked around the entire restaurant as if to see if there was any possible place she could seat us (for reference, there were easily 30 open tables). She finally was able to seat us in an empty room (while there were three other completely empty rooms of no diners). Then she had to be prompted by the server to bring us water and bread. The server took about 10 minutes to get to us. They were very busy discussing their weekend plans, how much they put down for a down payment on something and other chit chat as they talked with the cook.) Food was passable, but should have just ordered a pizza.

We had our anniversary dinner 🍽 there. It was 90+ outside that day so warm inside, but the food was delicious and our leftovers were just as good. Our desserts were fantastic: A blueberry cheesecake and a tiramisu. The drinks 🍸 were well done also. Looking forward to our next visit.

I want to make sure the review is fair so I will start with the good: the environment and decor is very cute and cosy. The mussels were great. Now for the bad; the operations seem very poorly managed. We received our food 1 hr and 15 mins after ordering it with only a dry apology followed by saying that they had 2 tables that had 12 people order at the same time. We understand this is not easy to deal with but they should know the limits of their operation and accept reservations accordingly. Overall, it was particularly surprising because they truly did not try at all to remedy the situation. Our food wasn’t brought quickly even when we asked twice and nothing was comped as an apology. Unfortunately although we usually love family owned businesses and love supporting them, this is one we will not be coming back to and will not be recommending anyone.

Odd experience! We went on a Sunday night (10/19/25) and the place was DARK. We thought it might be closed because there no lights on. This created a weird vibe to start off the evening. Once we entered the restaurant, it was very nicely decorated, very charming, but EMPTY! (never a good sign, especially when every other restaurant we passed on the way there was slammed!). We were sat in a completely empty room. Our waiter was new and in need of more training, but was very friendly and genuine and his good attitude made up for the lack of experience. The service was slow and the food was just OK - not bad, but not good. We had a fine time because we were with a group of friends and in no hurry, but I would not recommend this place. I do see some good reviews here and the place definitely has potential so I do hope they listen to feedback and improve.

My friends went for a birthday and I wanted to pay $50 towards their bill because I couldn’t go. Next day I notice 2 charges for $50 so I had to call them to refund me. Nope! After countless phone calls the manager / chef, David “couldn’t refund me but could MAIL ME A CHECK” I said no I don’t want to give you my address? The POS system is able to refund me this is crazy. They stopped answering their phone and they stopped answering their email ( I only got the waiters personal email. I did not get any management email ) I could go on and on. Will never go there

We decided to have an early dinner before 4:30pm and most indoor tables are fully booked. It's Monday but foliage season is always crowded. Dinner hours start at 4pm. Expect slower service since there is only one service staff but still attentive. Saw one more staff by the time we're done after 5pm. Food was okay. The clam chowder came with only a single clam! 🤦‍♂️Truffle fries were nice though but $9 is pricey. I'd say prices are on the high side. Traffic along this road crawls at 10mph and finding parking is a challenge. All roads passing through this town will have about 5-10 minutes of traffic slowdown.

Walked into this dreamy sunlit cafe 8am on a Monday and had the most incredible homemade biscuit with egg and cheese and this sweet maple sausage that was so out of this world, we ordered more on the side. Got a side of Blueberry pancakes with Vermont maple syrup, which were everything you want pancakes to be, as was the side of French toast sticks made from their biscuit, slightly crunchier than the average French toast and so good. Really recommend ordering a la carte so you can try as much as possible. Invigorating fresh-squeezed orange juice. Would come back tomorrow (if it was open Tuesdays). 5 stars!!

Great food and our waitress was the best! I had the pancake, scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese and the sausage was my favorite. A mix of sweet and salty. The wait is worth it but be aware, there is always a wait. So prepare and come before you get so hungry that you want to gnaw your arm off.

I would vote Butler's Pantry as the best breakfast in Vermont. One of the best breakfasts ever actually. I recommend the breakfast sandwich with the maple sausage - wow. Be sure to get your name on the wait-list early, the list fills up fast because it really is that good.

You simply must try them for dinner!! We recently had the Pork Schnitzel and dinner Caesar Salad with grilled chicken. The pork breading was deliciously carmelized and cooked to perfection. The caesar salad was gently coated with dressing and topped with a generous amount of grilled chicken. The croutons were fantastic, made from the local Bridge Street Breads. Our server, Amir was very personable and attentive. We will be back!!

Café on Main in Stowe is a popular spot known for its casual and comfortable atmosphere, serving up delicious breakfast options like Belgian waffles, homemade oatmeal, bagels, egg sandwiches, and delectable baked goods such as cinnamon streusel muffins. Whether you're looking for a quick breakfast to go or a leisurely sit-down meal indoors or outdoors, this café has you covered. They also offer lunch options including sandwiches and soups for those on the go.
Nice shaded patio right outside if you’re with a dog. Creative lattes. We’ve been here both times as visitors in town. I’m soft spoken sometimes and the cashier missed one of my orders but they were super nice and didn’t charge me for it when I went back to order (plz don’t assume this will be your outcome lol). Super appreciated and really enjoyed both the iced lattes!

Really cozy little tourist aimed cafe in a larger gift shop style building. Very limited seating and narrow walking path, but very fair prices and decent food. The Turkey Rachel along with their Hot Chocolate were very good. Not watery like you'd expect. Quite good quiche as well. I'd recommend as an after church meeting place or if you're staying at an inn in town within walking distance.

Stopped here for coffee and pastries for breakfast - I ordered a hot Maple Vanilla Latte - SO GOOD! One of the best lattes I’ve ever had and I’m not even a huge maple fan. I got the gluten free pumpkin bread (moist and delish) and the other members of my party ordered the cinnamon crunch muffin and the egg and bacon croissant. Everything we had was great. The shop is super tiny and gets really crowded fast so the seating is cramped, but they get your order to you really quickly so it’s an easy in and out. Other coffee shops in town maybe more “TikTok Famous” but we totally recommend this place as the best in Stowe!

Came here for breakfast whilst on holiday in Stowe. The best waffle I’ve ever tasted and lovely selection of other foods (pastries and cooked breakfasts) and hot and cold drinks.

I’m so happy that we tried Cafe on Main Street. it was absolutely delicious and the staff was amazing. These Belgian Waffles were so crunchy and sugary. They were very much like the ones I had in Belgium. Yummy bacon too! Loved it all! My cousins loved their breakfast sandwiches. The egg was super fluffy and the bacon was really crispy. The staff was so sweet and very attentive to everyone’s needs. Definitely go try them out, you won’t be disappointed.

Grabbed a few sandwiches and soup to take back to our AirbNb for lunch. Everything was incredible and fresh. There was a bit of a wait which we expected but they were a well oiled machine. We went back for breakfast the next morning and enjoyed a wonderful breakfast sandwich and coffees.

The atmosphere is modern and chic, perfect for eating a light meal or drinking wine. They also have a shared table service where you can order food to share with your dining companions.
We really loved our dinner here! Everything on the menu looked so good and everything we did order was great. We believed the prices were too steep for what it was. That being said, the food was delicious, fresh and unique. It was our favorite food that we ate while in Stowe. Our server was super sweet, but I think they need more help. We waited quite a while to order drinks and to receive them. A party next to us ended up leaving because they had waited a while and no one had been over. Some things to improve on.. but would recommend on the food and wine selection alone!!
Greta M — Google review
An upscale yet chill culinary gem From the moment we walked into Cork, we were struck by the atmosphere—sophisticated yet laid-back, with a cozy, upscale vibe that instantly set the tone for an incredible dining experience. We kicked things off with an order of wings and fries. Now, let me tell you—my wife, who has tried fries all over the world, declared these the best fries she’s ever had. Perfectly crispy, flavorful, and unforgettable. Next came the fried cauliflower, which turned out to be the highlight of the night. The batter was perfectly seasoned, and it came with a savory gravy infused with curry leaves and coconut milk that tied everything together beautifully. It was a showstopper. We also tried the Seabass Belly, a dish we’d never encountered before—essentially the belly of the fish, battered and fried to golden perfection. But what truly stole the show was the salad underneath. It was so flavorful that even my wife, who never eats salad, went back for seconds. That says everything. I went for the dry-aged steak (medium rare), and it was absolutely on point—juicy, tender, and full of flavor. We paired it with a side of mashed potatoes, which were rustic and hearty. Not overly processed, these mashed potatoes were slightly chunky and incredibly satisfying. Service was equally impressive. Our server was warm, knowledgeable, and attentive throughout the evening, making us feel well taken care of without being intrusive. Though we didn’t get a chance to try dessert (we were completely full!), the chocolate item on the menu looked very tempting. Whether you’re stopping through Stowe or staying a while, Cork is a must-visit. Make a reservation, treat yourself to a cocktail at the bar, and enjoy what might be one of the best meals you’ll have in Vermont.

My husband and I have been striving to find the right fried chicken that is gluten-free. A friend of ours told us how incredible the family style gluten-free fried chicken was from Cork and we just tried it for our first time. We have tried multiple restaurants in town that offer their version of fried chicken, but this Tops them all! We both were craving it again and had been so thrilled with the crunch and flavor! The four star review is because they have removed this from the menu, so disappointing
Anna — Google review
Great little spot in downtown Stowe. We had trouble getting reservations at a lot of the hotspots so we decided to try this place. It’s very small so anticipate eating with a table right next to you, which is fine, but some people don’t like it as tight. I love farm to table so I felt like the mountain bread with the ricotta on top was just delicious. The tree ripened tomatoes with the cheese was also fresh and savory. I ordered a pasta dish with eggplant and some sausage which I thought was good, but definitely needed more flavor. It was a little too bland for me. My husband was still hungry afterwards and felt like he wasn’t full, but I eat less so the portions were good, but keep this in mind if you’re going with a man who likes more substantial fare. They also offered me some nice wine options. Not sure I’d go back on a return visit for dinner, but cute spot for some wine and a charcuterie board or apps.

Long overdue review. Great restaurant, super seasonal and always changing menu. Very interesting and creative dishes, not your standard fare. Delicious cocktails and really nice ambiance. Food sometimes can take a bit to come out but certainly don't mind. Make a reservation!

Love this romantic, dimly-lit, and delicious little spot so much! Walked in thinking it’d be an overpriced tourist trap, but no way! Every single dish was so good and impeccably made, including their homemade pasta, burrata, creamed corn, fall squash, and their new maple creemee dessert. Shoutout to our server Julia who gave us the best seat in the house, a little nook in the corner by the window, and was so warm and generous and good to us. 5 stars!!!!
Bonnie G — Google review
We visited Stowe for a long weekend and our impromptu dinner at Cork was AMAZING. We lucked out and got seated in their big table in the window which was so cozy and chic. The drinks were phenomenal and the food was *chefs kiss*. Our group shared a bunch of starters, a salad, and their main pasta dish and everything was so good. The fried green tomatoes were out of this world!!! I’ve been dreaming of them since. The “creamies” (tried both flavors) for dessert were also delicious and exactly what we needed to end our taste bud journey. We went back the following night specifically for “cocktails and creamies” after our dinner at another location. Elle was our server both nights and fabulous! Kudos to the whole team and I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone visiting Stowe.
A K — Google review
Im gonna start by saying that we can back here two nights in a row bc we had such a positive experience! Our waitress Elle was so lovely and attentive, she is what customer service should be. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, but it is fairly small so you don’t feel stuffy! The front room is well decorated while offering a view of the town! The drinks were flavorful and offered a wide list of options for wine and cocktail drinkers. The food was fresh, well prepared, and unexpectedly creative. Our favorites were the green tomatoes, fall squashes, and pappardelle! The sauce for the fried green tomatoes was on of the best I’ve ever had and the pappardelle was so warm and comforting! To end the night we shared the seasonal cremie- if you’ve never had one it’s a must! The squash cremie is something I will dream about! Cork was an off the path restaurant in Stowe that knocked our socks off!

Pizza restaurant
Located in the Waterbury Village Historic District of Vermont, Zachary's Pizza House has been a beloved local establishment for over 50 years. This small-town restaurant offers a menu featuring Italian-American favorites such as pizza, subs, dinners, and salads in a simple and unpretentious setting. While the service may be slow during peak times due to high demand for both take-out and dine-in orders, the friendly staff strives to provide helpful assistance.
Ordered a large Hawaiian pizza, pizza is great but they barly cut the pizza. Also ordered 10 BBQ wings and the wings were good as well but only recieved 9 wings 😂. $38.95, Over all good food, but they need to pay more attention on there orders.
Nicole H — Google review
We chose Zachary's because they were the only restaurant in Waterbury that delivered to our hotel on a Sunday. We ordered the Pepperoni, which was overloaded with it! The crust was really tasty, but with that amount of pepperoni there was enough salt to take care of my sodium intake for a month! We also ordered two side salads that were good. If we eat here again on our next visit, we will choose other menu items.
Jonathan G — Google review
It's a small town restaurant serving up a few Italian-American favorites. Service took much longer than a hungry family would like, but not an unreasonable amount of time. We visited when they were slammed with take-out AND dine-in orders. Food was delicious, although there were a couple items we could not order due to them having run out of said items (chicken wings being the one I remember). Friendly service. I would definitely go back, but maybe not on a Saturday night when the family is ravenous (and impatient).
Jessica P — Google review
Zachary’s Pizza was excellent! The pizza, Greek salad, mac & cheese, and ravioli were all delicious. Friendly, welcoming service made the experience even better. Not sure why some people were confused about ordering before sitting—there’s a clear sign right at the entrance. We’ll definitely be back!

We stopped in Zacharys on our way to Stowe,VT and what a great find it was. For a family of 4, we got a pizza and mac'n cheese which were both perfectly cooked and delicious and we also had a salad that was very fresh/crispy with delicious dressing. Also, excellent/ friendly service. Can't wait to come back on our next visit.
Joe F — Google review
Ordered 1 large Pepperoniest, 1 large Super Special with extra cheese, banana peppers and tomato’s, 1 small Super Special Gluten Free Crust with extra cheese, banana peppers and tomato’s and 1 kids spaghetti with meatballs. Picked up the order 45 mins later and drove home only to find that they messed up every single item. We received the following…… 1 large Pepperoni Pizza (not the pepperoniest as ordered), 1 large pizza with banana peppers and tomato (all the super special toppings and extra cheese were missing), 1 small gluten free pizza with banana peppers and tomato (all the the super special toppings and extra cheese were missing on this one as well). 1 senior spaghetti with meatballs (not the kids dinner as ordered)! I should have taken photos of all but my family was hungry and wanted to eat anyway! Attached photo is one of the pizza’s and the order ticket!! See what I mean? One bite and the rest was garbage! I’ve always had great pizza from here but this time was a disgrace to say the least! Sad day for Waterbury! I received a reply - they were very apologetic. They offered the below...... "As a small token of our regret and to show how much we value your patronage, please accept this gift card". Not to sound funny but what gift card? Unless I'm missing something here, I don't think I can receive a gift card via google reviews!! Will update with any new news.

Although they don't take reservations, we called ahead saying we were a busload of 14 people arriving at 11:00. The place was set for us and the owner (?) came over immediately to explain the arrangement of ordering and paying at the counter. Honestly, 14 people had 14 different items and as in any high-end restaurant, the food was timed so that all 14 items arrived at the same time. Delicious!!! Seemed to get more busy around noon with a multitude of take-out orders. Clean, moderately priced, a definite meal stop. We were so impressed that the following week 14 of us again stopped for lunch. Ditto to all about the first week.
George A — Google review
This place had really good food. The salad was fresh and the dressing was great. The pizza was cooked to perfection. Craig, Alex, and Sophia (I think was her name) were very kind and helpful. There was some coaching that the other guy was providing that should have been done with more tact and not right in front of customers. Running a restaurant IS stressful, but it shouldn’t show as much as it did.

The beer selection is decent, it’s nice to be able to grab a single. The wine selection is great. Feels like it’s meant for tourists and not locals. We stopped for a draft beer and the bartender licked the spilled beer off of his fingers in front of us before touching the glass with those same fingers. Gross and awkward.

Great selection of Vermont Beer, probably the best in the state. Gets Heady and Focal Banger on Wednesday’s. Tons of Burlington Beer Company. They sell singles as well, so you don’t have to commit to a 4-pack. A little pricey, especially for the singles. Staff is helpful. I’m a grumpy old man so I find it annoying when they pounce on me immediately after I step into the store. It’s a franchise, which surprises me. Why pay someone a fee to learn how to put beer on a shelf? But you can’t argue with the results.

Thai Smile is a vibrant restaurant located in Waterbury, Vermont, offering an authentic Thai dining experience. The menu features classic dishes like pad Thai and curry, served in a colorful setting. Visitors have praised the delicious crab fried rice and vegetable spring rolls. The friendly staff ensures a pleasant dining experience, with personalized service and options for customizing spice levels in the dishes. Guests recommend trying the papaya salad for its exceptional flavor and enjoying the bustling atmosphere of this cozy eatery.
Came to Vermont for a ski trip and this was right across from our hotel. Ordered take out and got the Yellow Curry with Tofu Mild and white rice. Veggie Spring Rolls & the Chicken Katsu. Let me tell you, some of the best Thai food I’ve had in a while! Very authentic, and I love how full of spice their flavors are. The katsu was delicious as was the curry. Came back 2 days later to bring food home for my family. Got the crab Rangoon, curry again, pad Thai with shrimp mild, basil duck mild, and the snapper fish. Oh my goodness, every meal here is a hit! I wish Thai Smile was close to me. Reasonably priced and good sized portions. Flavorful and authentic!

I have been eating Thai food for decades, before it became popular, and have had my share of so so meals. This place was not one of them! I had the chicken yellow curry and aside from the incredible flavor, the quality and quantity of chicken was amazing. The chicken was so tender and juicy and there was sooooo much of it! My husband got beef pad kee mao (aka drunken noodles) which was also delicious with generous portions of beef. I wish we had a Thai place like this near us….old school, authentic and absolutely delicious!
Merry C — Google review
Small and quaint but staff is so nice and so helpful. Opted to take a chance to snag a table & we are thankful we did. Food was incredible. Our server was an older gentleman and super nice! You could tell he works really hard to make sure everyone’s happy! Lots of vegan choices, just ask! We wanted the avocado fresh rolls but sadly they were sold out, thankfully they had spring rolls which were very good! Next dish was the Rama Dish, requested no fish oil (not sure it comes with it or not but had to be safe - allergy) with tofu. Came with Jasmine Rice and was extremely good! The sauce was incredible. Everything cooked perfect. My mom got the Khao Soi Noodle with chicken and said it was the most incredible Thai dish she’s ever had. Between the flavors and the texture, everything was cooked perfectly. We are just visiting but highly recommend checking out this place whether eating in or getting take out. Well worth it. And price very fairly.

This is one of the best Thai restaurants in US. So glad we found this place during our recent visit to Stowe. The food is so delicious and the prices are reasonable. We dined in the first day and also did a take out the following day. The portions were good. There is ample parking space and a lot of vegan and vegetarian friendly food options too.

Sat in, ordered the waited for 50 minutes for the first appetizer to came out, then another 20 mins for the other appetizer. The entrees came out another 15 mins. The pineapple fried rice had no flavors, and the spicy eggplant were barely cooked. At that point, we didn't bother to complain as my kids were so hungry. The appetizers do tasted good.

A very creative and delicious Thai restaurant , really enjoyed it. I especially recommend it to all friends who come visit to VT. You must try it, also the price is also very affordable.. There is also an ice cream factory nearby. You can also visit it to get a fantastic ice cream after the dinner..

During a spontaneous road trip through Vermont, I stumbled upon this hidden gem of a Thai restaurant nestled along the way. Located somewhere on the journey, it was a delightful surprise to discover such culinary excellence in an unexpected place. While I can't pinpoint its proximity to a town, I can confirm it's close to the Ben and Jerry's ice cream factory, which adds to its allure. The food at this cozy Thai joint is nothing short of extraordinary. The papaya salad transcended my taste buds to another realm, boasting flavors that were simply out of this world. The Khao Soi noodle dish stole the show with its unparalleled deliciousness, making it a standout among Thai cuisine experiences. Additionally, the chicken wings were a perfect blend of crispy and succulent, while the Thai fried rice was an absolute delight, leaving me craving for more. Overall, this restaurant is a must-visit for anyone traveling through the area or craving authentic Thai flavors. With its mouthwatering dishes and cozy ambiance, it's sure to leave a lasting impression on any food enthusiast. Don’t forget to grab some guava candies on your way out, it’s super tasty.

Giant burritos. Great flavor. Genuinely friendly ownership. The price per item is a bit steep, but you could easily share these burritos! I look forward to trying everything else.

Stopped in for a quick lunch break, it was amazing. If you try the burrito be prepared to have both hands free, because you'll need them! Calling it a generous sized portion would be an understatement. The people were friendly and make you feel welcome and comfortable.
Nathan B — Google review
Wildly over-priced and burritos badly lack quality ingredients and flavor. They put dry chicken (likely cooked several days ago), too much rice filler and then cover everything in cumin, hoping you won't notice. I was absolutely baffled when the cashier rang me up for over $16 for a simple lunch burrito.
Paco D — Google review
I just had my first burrito from Aztlan today. Unfortunately they are only open during lunch hour, and I don't work in Waterbury, so I've never been able to give them a try. However, the COVID-19 situation let me work from home this week. I knew I wanted to try them, so I had looked them up on the web earlier in the week, in anticipation... Well, yesterday it snowed, so I stayed in for lunch. But today, sunny weather had me venture out. But first, a phone call to be sure they were open. My first call went to voice mail, and I was so disappointed. I was determined to get my burrito, so I gave it a few minutes and called them again. Hooray! I got through and ordered. I was not disappointed. I had the simple fajita burrito and it was excellent. Large enough for two people to share, but I ate the whole thing! Unfortunately, they're only open for lunch time on week days, so it will be tough for me to try a different burrito. I think I'm gonna have a sick day from work in a couple weeks.

We stopped in for a late lunch and discovered a true gem in Waterbury. I met my spice match on the El Bombero! It was delicious and so spicy I had tears running down my face as I ate it. This burrito is the best I've ever had! Ingredients are fresh and tasty for sure. I cook for a living and this place gets my vote. We cant wait to stop in again.

One word, delicious. I ordered the ‘number 2; chicken.’ Basically a burrito with a cheese stuffed poblano pepper running through the center. Get there early or phone in your order as soon as they open. Proteins go quick and for good reason.

Definitely a hidden gem! I have been working in Waterbury for the past 10 years and I just learned of this place 2 days ago. The food is fantastic and the Owner/employees were very friendly. I ordered a hot (spicy) burrito. I would warn that if you have a low tolerance for spicy food don't get that. It was phenomenal but I was sweating! I would recommend Aztlan to anyone looking for a great place to eat!

This was our first visit to Salt and Rind and we loved it. Waterbury is becoming the new Stowe and this restaurant is a great new add. We had the oysters, shrimp and the ham dip and all were A+. The coconut cocktail was exactly what I wanted. The owners and the staff were super friendly and we can’t wait to go back!

I love all the cocktails I've tried here. as for the food, the smoked trout dip was a huge portion and absolutely delicious. must order!! the baked clams had so much flavor.

Wow, this is a find! It’s very small with no reservations so arrive early. Open Wed-Sat. Service is great and they really take pride in their food. The oysters are amazing! Fresh and tasty. We got a platter of a dozen oysters for $26 and were treated to 3 different kinds: one from Massachusetts and 2 kinds from Maine. I loved one of the Maine kinds and the other Maine oysters were a favorite as well. Affordable and some of the best oysters I’ve ever had. Tuna sashimi and spicy tuna salad are both well worth it – fresh and amazing flavor. We loved the watercress salad that came with most of our dishes – I’m not sure I even knew I liked watercress before this. The shrimp cocktail was good but small and again fresh. Fingerlings potatoes were great but small and could do with less stuff on it – cheese and bacon are plenty. Chicken tacos had super fresh cilantro and lime. Seafood roll – my other half liked it better than I did as I felt that the squid rings seem to overpower the dish for me – the brioche roll was lightly toasted and buttered to perfection. The presentation of all the dishes is appealing and professional. The menu is hard to describe – super fresh ingredients resulting in a slightly ever evolving menu, almost a dozen different “drinking snacks” including a number of dips – raw oysters, raw clams, raw tuna and a few tacos and sandwiches – bigger portions than a tapas plate but not a full sized dinner plate. Parking can be a bit confusing as it’s on the other side of the Hen of the Woods (we used that parking lot – just make sure you pay because they will ticket) and the place is hard to find as it seems surrounded by the Tropic Brewing. Overall, we can’t wait to go back for more – top picks are oysters and tuna dishes.

Upon entering, you might think you’re walking into a bar, and you are, but there’s nothing typical about this bar food. Diverse menu, fresh ingredients, most everything made right there on the spot. But the best part was the service: we met the co-owners and the sous chef… they all made it a point to come over and visit with us. The service was beyond spectacular: A bunch of bright young people pouring their heart into their business. I can’t recommend this place enough.

Loved our experience here. Service was great and food was fantastic. The tuna sashimi and ciopinno butter roasted oysters were so good. Can’t wait to come back!

Music was too loud for servers to hear the bar tender to get my take out order... Spent 40 dollars on 6 shrimp and twn fingerling potatoes. Terrible! Also didn't come with any of the sauces on the menu and no utensils. What a rip off and just extremely disappointing

SALT & RIND is an excellent spot! It was a little quiet when we came in because the dinner crowd had just left. They said they are open till 2am on a Saturday night. The bartenders and employees are SO awesome! Drinks and oysters were fabulous! I highly recommend the Dirty oysters! So good!

Pizza Takeout
The Blue Stone is a cozy saloon with a rustic interior that offers hand-tossed pizzas and craft brews. The ambiance is stylish and cool, and the blackboard pizza is highly recommended. The menu features delicious options like garlic knots, roasted chicken pizza, burgers, wraps, and fries. Customers praise the top-quality ingredients used in their food and the inviting atmosphere of the place. Additionally, they offer a wide selection of local beers to complement your meal.
The garlic knots appetizer was very good, and so was our pizza. Our kids got a boring cheese pizza, but it was even good. We had a blackboard pizza, which depends on what ingredients the chef had that day. Ours had roasted chicken, potato strings, spinach, and scallions with a brown butter cream sauce. We ate 2 10" pizzas, a 10 piece garlic knots, and 4 non alcoholic drinks for $50. A little pricey, but worth it.
Ben T — Google review
This is a warm and vintage feeling place with great food. We had the pizza, burgers, wraps, and fries. All of it was delicious. For the burgers and wraps they had a small side salad with a vinaigrette that was outstanding. I would definitely stop. I wish we had made it on a weekday to check some of the downtown shops as well.

After looking at all of the positive reviews and gorgeous pictures of pizza at The Blue Stone earlier this winter, I was eager to bring my friends here after a long day of skiing at Stowe. We were a large group of 5 so originally we were pleased there was only a 15 minute wait. That’s where things started to go downhill. We all decided to grab drinks at the bar before we sat down and were greeted with no warmth from the bartender. When I asked if there were any sours on draft, she was quick to tell me there were none on draft right now, and offered no other suggestions before walking away. Its fine to help other people out that know what that want, but I felt completely brushed off by how she provided no follow up and immediately walked away. We were all ravenous and wanted to put in an order of garlic knots, and the bartender cautioned against it because it would take a while and our table would be ready soon. Thank god we ended up getting the garlic knots because they arrived just as our table became ready, so the hanger was quelled momentarily. The garlic knots were wonderful. Everything else was not. Once seated, our waiter took what must have been 10 minutes to greet us and ask if we wanted anything to order. He was pleasant enough, but completely unaware of how to wait a table. He never circled back for refills, and we consistently had to flag him for more water. We ordered mushroom poutine, two pizzas, waters, and more drinks. The mushroom poutine came with with so few cheese curds you could count them on two hands. We requested more, but my the time they arrived the fries and the gravy were cold. The pizzas were lukewarm, and unfortunately, just bad. (One was the “Farmer’s Daughter” the other was ones my friends created.) If we weren’t starving and tired of waiting we would have sent them back. TLDR: Would I ever go back? No. Are the garlic knots their one saving grace? Yes. It makes it to two stars for that and only that.

The food is amazing! I want to say that this is the best pizza I have ever had. Top quality ingredients and the place looks very inviting. They also have a large selection of local beers.

Very slow service. I got the veggie burger and I was not happy with it. It seemed to be just a frozen patty with so few toppings on it that at first I thought it didn't have any. The description looked great, but it was a disappointment. My mom got a burger and fries and she was happy with it.

The Pizza was amazing. Crisp, flaky thin crust, amazing tomato sauce! Awesome maple vinaigrette dressing for the salads. Great place!

Visitors praise the shop for its diverse selection of wines, including biodynamic options that are frequently updated. Customers appreciate the welcoming atmosphere and personalized service, with Anastasia guiding them to find the perfect bottle based on their preferences and budget.
Top notch service. Great selection of wines from across the globe. Each time I visit I come in with particular interest and a taste for French wines, and leave with a few bottles and more knowledge then before.

NEW location - across from ProPig Tap room. Wines, Ports, Champaign, Chocolates and Cigars!!! Fun wine tasting / education on Fridays.
Bruce — Google review
Anastasia was a HUGE help pointing me in the right direction as well as very friendly and nice to talk to. I came in to treat myself knowing very little about different wines, just described what I was generally in the mood for, and she hit it right on the nose! The variety is impeccable. Prices are more than reasonable, too. I'm sure you'll see me during the 4-7 wine tasting next time I have a Friday evening off!
Evan L — Google review
Great selection, from $12 table wines to $200+ premium bottles, with many choices from select, smaller vineyards you won't find elsewhere. Anastasia is knowledgeable, friendly and always willing to help you find something based on your preferred style or budget --- no wine snobbery here! Wine club members can take advantage of special selections and discounts.

Best wine shop in the central vermont area! The folk who run it are super helpful and enthusiastic about what they do, like to get to know their customer’s preferences, and are glad to help suggest things if you aren’t sure what you are looking for. Some wine shops can be a bit stuffy, and this one is far from that. I personally love their selection of biodynamic wines, and their stock rotates pretty often. I always can find something new and interesting to try. Highly recommend stopping in!

Oh my Gosh, what a great addition to Waterbury. I had been looking for a specific type of wine that I was told by another store was not longer available in the vintage year I was looking for. Not only did the owner find it but found a case for it. Two days later I was enjoying it with friends. Highly recommend. Also wines for any price point.

Well curated selection from a diverse range of high quality producers, regions and vintages. The store manager Anastasia is very knowledgable, and was more than willing to help guide us to pick out a couple great bottles of wine.

Cork Wine Bar & Market is a modern and inviting establishment that offers a bright and polished setting for enjoying natural wines and light bites. The bar boasts an impressive selection of interesting and often obscure wines, many of which are available by the glass. Visitors can expect generous pours and excellent quality options. In addition to its wine offerings, Cork also features a sampling bar for beers, setting it apart from other wine shops.
We had a wonderful time at Cork. Great selection of interesting wines, many of which we had not heard of before. Their pours are generous and the quality of the wines available by the glass are excellent. I have a new favorite Priorat, Noster, that has deep color, nice bite and rich finish. Liked it so much that we brought some reasonably priced bottles home. We also shared a cheese plate that paired nicely with our wines. Katie kept us good company in their nicely restored shop, and we are now looking forward to Saturday's retail wine tasting, live bluegrass music and food.
David C — Google review
Nice classy place with welcoming employees. The prices are competitive and there is plenty of easy parking. The Bar for sampling beers is a nice feature that separates them from other wine shops. They often carry Heady Topper. I was lucky the day I went there that they had plenty in stock, they had no purchase limits, and extended me a case discount. Win Win Win.

Cork is an attractive, comfortable, warm local wine bar....offering an impressive selection of yummy affordable wines and beers. It's run by great people and provides space for music, small theater, local fund raisers and imbibers, whether they sip PBR's or fancy champagne. The menu is limited, but tasty and local food. It is, after all, Vermont.

Wine selection is fantastic. I can't comment on the beer, not having ordered any. However, the wines are interesting, sometimes obscure, and delicious. If you're in Waterbury I highly recommend.

Restaurant
Nestled in the charming town of Waterbury, Vermont, Paprika Catering Company has become a must-visit destination for food lovers seeking authentic Argentine-style empanadas. Owned by the talented duo Jackie and Jennifer McCabe de Achaval, this delightful eatery offers an impressive array of flavors that cater to both meat lovers and vegetarians alike. With options like the Criolla and a unique cheese, plum, bacon & mint combination, each bite is a celebration of taste.
We ordered a variety of empanadas along with soup and cookies for a dining-in evening with recent house guests. Our guests happened to be Argentine and were thrilled with the quality of offerings. We had a delicious feast with leftovers we popped in the freezer. Our entire experience was great! Highly recommend!
Heather S — Google review
Such a delicious find in Waterbury! There are 12 unique fillings to choose from, even vegetarian & vegan choices! The empanadas are handmade with wholesome ingredients, dough & fillings, then gently "air fried" to a beautiful crispness. You absolutely must get 3 flavors minimum to try! 3 sauces to dip in, I highly encourage the paprika hot sauce! Also some sides; we shared the chickpea salad & it was fabulous! Jen & Jackie are talented chefs & business owners who clearly enjoy this labor of love & will warmly welcome you in & ensure your meal is memorable. There is free parking at the cafe--look for the red floral planters to lead the way to the door. There is comfortable seating indoors, & is absolutely spotless clean. Empanadas are also available to go hot for a picnic, or fresh-frozen so you can take more home to enjoy later.

Oh my oh my! Paprika Empanadas were wonderful! We stumbled upon this cute shop tuck back off the street. So glad we did! The empanadas were amazing and hit the spot. My husband and I had three each and different flavors! Not one flavor disappointed. We were served by the owner who was kind and friendly. If you’re in Waterbury and want something new this is the spot!
Jessyca C — Google review
Paprika is a charming 'hole in the wall' hidden gem. Owners Jackie and Jen are lovely humans and Jackie is an amazing chef. I love the mix of traditional Argentinean flavors with traditional Vermont flavors. The best of both worlds! Work your way around the empanada choices and you won't be disappointed. Each one is big enough if you want to share with someone and each have a big bite (I recommend this route if you want to try a bunch of different ones without being stuffed to the gills), otherwise, 3-4 will typically fill me up. Oh and definitely get the sauces - Chimichurri, malbec hot sauce, and vegan blue cheese dip...
Katya D — Google review
I have been on a hunt for good empanadas in Vermont ever since I moved up here from D.C. 8 years ago. Today I found them! Baked to perfection, filled with yummy, cheesy goodness, and in such a beautiful, peaceful spot. It was the perfect afternoon pick-me-up...... Also, as a vegetarian I'm using to have 1 empanada option, maybe 2 tops -- well not here. There were 5 or 6 vegetarian options on the menu, and I can't wait to go back and try more! Highly recommend!!!
Mary C — Google review
WOW. If you need food in Waterbury put this place first on your list. Get the bacon mozz plum. Can’t wait to go back with a cooler to get a set of frozen empanadas for home!
Sophi V — Google review
A little gem of a restaurant in the heart of Waterbury, Vermont. We were a party of four and we ordered 3 empanadas each with fillings of choice. They were all a gustatory delight; the Criolla was my absolute favorite & the cheese, plum, bacon & mint empanada was a close second. There is a wide variety of empanadas to choose from, & given that amongst the four of us we tasted at least six of them, I wouldn’t be wrong to say that all of them were very flavorful. The garbanzo salad was a palate pleaser and a perfect side to go with the empanadas. The service was wonderful as was the ambiance. Jen & Jackie were the perfect hosts. That was not all, Jackie, the chef, even let us have a taste of a smoked tomato sauce she was preparing for a private party at the restaurant that evening! Great food & a lovely atmosphere.

These empanadas are insanely good! We had Paprika empanadas as our late-night wedding snack, and they were a massive hit — guests are still raving about them. Perfectly delicious and delivered hot at 11pm, they truly exceeded all expectations. Huge thanks to the Paprika team for making our night even more memorable!

Modern European restaurant
Nestled in a beautifully renovated 1820s farmhouse with a charming wraparound porch, Michael's on the Hill offers an elegant dining experience featuring locally sourced Continental cuisine. The Swiss-born chef and owner, Michael Kloeti, brings his expertise from top culinary establishments in Europe and New York City to create high-end French cuisine with a Vermont farm-to-table twist. The picturesque setting includes acres of pasture and stunning views of the Green Mountains.
Wow!! My husband was not real excited when I told him where I had made reservations for dinner. He changed his tune once we got our appetizer. We had the Crab Salad and it was amazing. We both had the fish for the main course and it was so unique and delicious. We will be back for sure!

We came here for our anniversary and had an amazing meal! The zucchini fritter bite and the fried calamari were to die for! My husband got the beef tenderloin and I got the duck breast; both were delicious! The chocolate ganache dessert was also fantastic! I can’t say enough about how thoughtful all of the dishes were that we had. Our server, Gavin, did an amazing job making recommendations as well! Truly a wonderful dining experience at Michael’s on the Hill!

My wife and I went for a meal here after driving by this Restaurant for the last 15 years. The food was amazing. Our waiter was great and the atmosphere was so quiet, romantic and special. Definitely will return.

Best decision to spend my birthday here! The atmosphere was so cozy, the staff was so nice and accommodating and the food was amazing! We ordered the tenderloin steak and fish of the day. The steak was so good and even better than other steak weve had in NYC. The fish was so soft and sweet. Amazing. The only thing we didnt like was the dessert which was the coconut matcha panna cotta. The waiter, Megan, saw we didnt eat so she removed it from our bill - without of asking for it and even mentioning we didnt like it. Thats truly the type of service that is topnotch! If you're here in Vermont and want a special dinner, I highly recommend this place.

We’ve been dreaming of visiting Michael’s on the Hill for ages. Finally, we made it! It’s a really great place, for the price I was expecting, to be wowed with every dish. Duck Confit was the highlight. The best part? It’s dog-friendly! I can’t remember our server’s name, but he was an absolute legend! He was a huge fan of Portugal and Ronaldo, which was a fun touch.

Wow! Romantic, historic, quaint perfection of a fancy dinner. We were immediately greeted upon walking in and sat right away. The butternut soup was delicious. The local cheese board is a must!!! The tenderloin was amazing with the cheesy potatoes. The wine selection is great! The service is 5 stars. Plan a date, take a friend, partner, parent, whoever and splurge. I also can’t stress enough to make a reservation way in advance especially during the busy seasons.

We celebrated our engagement at Michael’s on the Hill for dinner. The atmosphere was lovely and welcoming — I love that the restaurant is part of an old house. The food was delicious, but what really stole the show was the service. We were congratulated multiple times by the staff and even given generous glasses of champagne and some celebratory chocolate alongside our dessert. Can’t wait to come back next time we’re in town.

Accommodating and friendly staff. We came very early and they set up the table for us. Everybody was friendly and service was excellent. Loved the halibut, fresh and tasty. Butternut squash ravioli also very good. Crab cake didn’t meet my expectations though, my husband did enjoy it. One of the few fine dining options in Vermont with a very nice setting

Live music venue
Zenbarn is a laid-back spot that offers a variety of food and drinks, including sandwiches, burgers, ramen, BBQ, and local farm fare. The venue has adapted to the current situation by providing socially distant seating for live music events. With limited indoor dining capacity and outdoor tables under a tent, Zenbarn has managed to maintain its to-go business as well. Visitors can enjoy the spacious property with small but comfortable tables and even a fire pit for added ambiance.
Our wedding at Zenbarn was like a fairytale! It’s such an amazing venue with indoor and outdoor spaces that are exactly what you want for a Vermont wedding. The apartments upstairs were perfect for getting ready and a crash pad for friends and family after partying all night. We loved every minute!

The vibes were immaculate. 10/10 went to see The Blind Owl Band and I must say the size and atmosphere made the whole experience. Delicious cider and even more delightful music. All ages show so I could bring my little ones. Their minds were blown. Love live music.

We were here for a private work related event not for entertainment. The food they served us was delicious. Some of us ended up having to sit in small patio chairs that weren’t very comfortable for 6 hrs but all in all glad we chose this venue. I was told it’s a fun place with good music, if back in the area for personal reasons I’d give it a try.

We had our wedding at Zenbarn in June and everything was perfect! You cannot beat the view from the outdoor ceremony location! Every single member of their staff was great to work with and really made the night magical. From planning it all with Kaite to dancing and talking to Travis, it was all perfect. We are still getting compliments about how magical and well put together our wedding was and we owe a lot of that to Zenbarn.

My second Wednesday night with Dobb's Dead in 6 months in a room quite copacetic to musicians and fans alike. I wish I lived closer to this very reasonable and chill venue because I am very comfortable there. We cannot say enough good things about the Zen Barn! We got married here in July 2023 and had an amazing, fun, and smooth wedding weekend. We rented out the Air BnB on the top two floors of the barn for the weekend and it worked out perfectly for our bridal party to stay in and for getting ready before the ceremony. Communicating with their events manager Katie and the owner Ari leading up to the wedding was easy and they were super accommodating. We had questionable weather for the ceremony/cocktail hour portion of our wedding and all of the staff at Zen Barn were so flexible and supportive with us deciding whether we needed to do our ceremony inside or out. We ended up using their beautiful indoor ceremony space due to rain and it was amazing! Our guests loved the BBQ buffet (great gluten free and veg options too!!) and enjoyed the cocktails and amazing local beer options. Everyone had so much fun with the Zen Barn staff - they are the perfect balance of fun/laidback and professional - making you feel at ease throughout the day. Our go-to guy for our wedding day, Travis, went above and beyond to help our day run smoothly and was so fun to work with. The Zen Barn lets you truly customize how you want your wedding to be and we are so happy we had our wedding here. We cannot wait to come back for music and anniversary celebrations. Thank you to everyone at the Zen Barn for all of your hard work!!!!

The food and drinks here are out of this world, the service was great and the servers made us feel at home. I would highly recommend the maple bacon burger and the grilled mushrooms with grits!!! Also the gin and chronic drink was very well made but I think our favorite part was bamboo straw, loved the little touches!! We will definitely be back in the future
