Fine dining restaurant
Le Château de Bel Ombre is an elegant and romantic restaurant located in a beautifully restored colonial mansion dating back to the 1800s. Situated in Domaine de Bel Ombre, amidst verdant hills and sugar fields, it offers a fusion of a la carte cuisine using ingredients sourced from the surrounding area. The restaurant exudes period elegance with wood-panelled walls, crystal chandeliers, and antique wooden tables, creating an authentic French fine dining experience.
The service at Chateau de Bel Ombre is unmatched. The staff was attentive, ensuring everything was perfect without being overbearing. Their attention to detail made me feel like a VIP! Mr Pierre our waiter was exceptional guiding you throughout the drinks menu and the food not forgetting the restaurant manager Mr Omesh who made sure everything was going as planned as it was our 1st wedding anniversary he was very professional no doubt on that last but not least Madame Ornella our assistant Sommelier once again gave a VVIP service. Hats off to the whole team. “If you’re a foodie like me, you’ll love this place! The menu has a fantastic selection of dishes, and we loved everything we tried. We only had good comments about the food. I can’t wait to come back again!” Thanks a million for this wonderful night we had.

The location of this restaurant if you go just before sunset it’s impressive. Exceptional food and the service outstanding. Allan was who took care of us and he was just perfect. It was my birthday and he even brought me a cake. If you want to have a proper dinner experience you shouldn’t think twice and just go for it!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Le Château de Bel Ombre — A Refined Blend of Heritage and Haute Cuisine Le Château de Bel Ombre is one of those rare places where history, architecture, and gastronomy align to create a genuinely memorable experience. Set within a beautifully preserved 19th-century colonial mansion, the restaurant offers a setting that feels both grand and intimate — surrounded by manicured gardens, ancient banyan trees, and softly lit verandas that exude old-world elegance. From the moment you arrive, the service is attentive yet discreet. Staff welcome you warmly, offering guided insights into the estate’s history, which sets the tone for the evening. The ambiance is serene and romantic — ideal for couples, special occasions, or anyone looking to experience a different side of Mauritius beyond the beach. The menu is a celebration of Mauritian terroir with a fine-dining French influence. Dishes are artfully plated, balancing local ingredients like palm heart, venison, and tropical fruits with refined techniques. Standout courses include the delicately prepared seafood entrées and the signature dessert that reimagines Mauritian classics in a contemporary way. The wine list is thoughtfully curated, with excellent French and South African options to pair with each course. What truly elevates the experience is the atmosphere: dinner on the terrace feels timeless, as if you’ve stepped back into another era. The quiet sophistication and the measured pace of service allow you to savor every moment. In short: Le Château de Bel Ombre delivers more than just a meal — it’s a sensory experience that blends history, culture, and culinary excellence. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a refined, authentic, and memorable evening in Mauritius.

11/10 would recommend - Fantastic food and drinks (maybe had the best cosmopolitan ever…). Exceptional hostess! The lemon dessert was out of this world. Unbelievably good. Extraordinary estate with a luxurious and privat feel to it. Thank you very much for this lovely evening!

Dinner at Le Chateau was amazing! The restaurant itself is situated on a stunning property in a wonderfully kept up heritage building. The food is incredible and the service was absolutely top notch. Special shoutout to our server, Sheetal - who truly made the experience incredible for us!

Oh wow...I booked afternoon tea for my friends birthday and it was amazing! Mr Oomesh contacted me straight away after my booking, accommodate my gluten free/vegetarian request. He was in touch with me before my arrival. Brilliant customer service! Then we sat in the beautiful garden, under the umbrella, ready to enjoy amazing sweets with lovely coffee and our private waiter Mr Kadress. Very kind man with good sense of humour :) Definitely coming back! My cup is full 🥰 what a beautiful afternoon it was! Thank you so much 💓 Inka Xx

Wonderful experience at le chateau de bel Ombre. The staff really looked after me. Thanks Keshavi and Ornella guiding me through the menu and wine list.

I saved this place from my last visit to Mauritius and I could not believe it was so disappointing… On the Advantage side it is very beautiful villa with nice views but food was absolutely disappointing. Service was unexpectedly bad from the time we arrived: we waited for bread and water for 20 minutes and no one said anything. Then no one paid attention to our table so…imagine..we had to pour the wine by ourselves. The award winning dessert was so sweet, it was impossible to eat. Overall 6 course menu from chef was not worth trying: the best positions were soup and wagu beef. In addition we expressed several times our dissatisfaction with the service and food tastes, but guess what? No one did anything. Just said sorry and tried to disappear as fast as possible. Nestled within the stunning Tamassa Resort, Playa Restaurant offers a delightful escape for those seeking a taste of the Mediterranean with a Mauritian twist. Imagine dining al fresco, your toes nestled in warm sand as you savor an array of delectable dishes inspired by coastal flavors. The ambiance is enhanced by the soothing sounds of waves lapping at the shore, creating an idyllic setting for any meal.
We would like to share our incredible experience because the dinner that we spent in this restaurant was really special for us - we are on our honeymoon - and everything was JUST PERFECT. Thank you to all the team of restaurant - we got exceptional food and service tonight. We were surrounded with love and care that pleased us a lot. Thanks a lot to everyone. And especially to ALI who made our staying remarkable. Thanks by heart ❤️❤️❤️

Stayed in the resort for 3 days and decided to have dessert here on our last day. Ordered Icecream platter, the taste was pretty average tbh. Then ordered Vanilla creme brûlée and the taste was good. Found a bit overpriced given the price and portion of the food. Staff were nice. Location is good, right in front of the beach. Prolly won't visit again.
Nicky P — Google review
I took the three way seared tuna, it was sour and inedible. I sent it back and only stuck to my main dish which came a bit late however the portion was shockingly small. I ordered the beef steak, the portion of beef did not exceed 50 grams of meat. For the price they set this was a robbery. Stay away from this place unless you like to be robbed.
Rebai S — Google review
We sat down for dinner, but the dishes we received didn’t match the descriptions on the menu. For example, I ordered linguine with a mushroom mix and pesto, but got spaghetti with cream sauce and no mushrooms. I sent it back and asked for pasta arrabbiata instead, but what I got was penne with a sauce that tasted like it came from a jar — completely bland. The waiters seemed a bit impatient, and at that moment, we felt we weren’t being treated with much appreciation given the food we received.

Delicious food and drinks (especially Takamaka wine from Mauritius), very careful staff, mr. Rahul was great :)

I’ve dined in plenty of restaurants ranging from kebabshops to michelin starred restaurants, but never was anyone ever RUDE to us and our table. This restaurant did it when we made the reservation and when we were trying to order. After that my food was way overcooked and pointless.

It took almost an hour to prepare main dishes and finally they served them cold. Everything else fades behind cold pasta.

Show Restaurant at Tamassa Bel Ombre is known for its exceptional service and attention to dietary preferences. A guest who follows a vegan diet was impressed by the considerate and attentive staff, who not only provided a variety of vegan options in the buffet but also prepared special dishes like tofu stir-fry, vegan pancakes, vegan dessert, and dhal puri. The chef personally guided the guest through the buffet and ensured that their dietary needs were met without any additional reminders.

Beach club
Nestled in Bel Ombre, C Beach Club is the ultimate destination for a leisurely islander's brunch experience. The club boasts a picturesque setting with a sparkling pool, white sandy beach, and turquoise lagoon. Its Sunday brunch features an extensive buffet selection of delectable dishes including salads, cold cuts, grilled meats, and indulgent desserts. Additionally, the club hosts occasional International DJs from Europe to elevate the ambiance.
As you drive in, the location looks like a resort with its lush green lawns and mature trees. The people are friendly as soon as you step in and the service provided throughout the day was flawless. Coffee was served with a plate of local fruits, danishes and a variety of breads with local jam by the pool. Lunch was equally delicious - we had the smoked marlin! The view was spectacular and the amenities were amazing. We had a superb and relaxing day and would absolutely recommend for a well-deserved R&R.

Fantastic Beach Club Experience An absolute gem! The atmosphere was incredible, and the setting—simply breathtaking. The entrance fee for the beach club is 1,500 MUR and it’s worth every penny. The food was delicious, especially the tuna, but the real highlight was the stunning views and the amazing staff who truly made our day. Highly recommend!

Nice location to have lunch and eat well! My Wife and I enjoyed our stay and got great service. Delicious food (pasta linguine with pesto & tandoori chicken schawarma) The view is great

Unaware that a DJ would be playing throughout our Sunday visit - and the music was far too loud! No poolside or beach drinks service which is not the service you would expect at such a venue. A lovely beach and pool, but room for improvement. No step/handrail access into pool so a real health and safety issue.
Lindsey M — Google review
Today we went here for breakfast. If you are not from nearby hotels need to pay 200 Rs for person, which we did. Breakfast food choice were poor, prices were high and overpriced in my opinion. For the food in picture we paid all together with the entrance fee 1940Rs. 3 egg omelette was okay by taste, smoked marlin was awful, all other food was tasteless. Service was okay and fast, and polite. View and atmosphere is nice but going for breakfast not advisable.

I've been to quite a few places here now like beach clubs and restaurants and can comment this for sure that the service these people provide is literally upto the mark. The warmth for costumers is like any guest would expect. Apart from that the ambience of the place is cozy with the waves sound, a nice and clean swimming pool, couches and nice lounge for sitting around. Food was also fresh and nicely made. Over and over I'd recommend this place for spending time. We went for lunch there so apart from the food bills there will be 200/- (July 2023) per head for club booking pool side. Thanks.

The food is very good, but with the price also my expections were a little bit higher. The Service was perfect. The display of the food and drinks was very appealing. My 🍔 was just as expected. Still very good (A-) and medium as ordered. The burger could have been more fancy, modern style. The dessert was very good! no but. ;) The same with cocktails. Just excellent. I had mixed feelings with the starter. The Seafood broth: the fish inside was awesome, the squid chewy and tasted like water, the mussels were ok, the shrimps were good. The total liquid in the broth was just maybe 10 spoons. The bowl was only coverd. The bowl itself was cold. 1min and the erverything inside was cold to. The concept of the dish is great but the execution rusulted in a bit disappointment. (D+)

The Plantation Club, located within the Outrigger Mauritius Beach Resort, offers a top-notch dining experience with a focus on traditional Creole cuisine. The menu showcases the finest local ingredients, including Red Snapper from Rodrigues Island and Pheasant from the Chamarel mountains. Set in a colonial-inspired lodge overlooking a charming swimming pool and lush mountains, this highly-rated establishment in Bel Ombre provides prompt service and an elegant ambiance.
We had a very delicious dinner. The service was exceptional! Fresh tasty food and outstanding service!
Katharina R — Google review
Oh lord, so where do I start.. just a bit of background. I stayed at Outrigger for one night on Christmas Eve especially to have dinner at the Plantation Club. When I saw all the positive reviews, I was so impatient to try it and experience another great fine-dining restaurant.. but what a surprise, and a very bad one.. the appetizer with palmhearts was too acidic so we couldn’t even taste the caviar on top. The foie gras didn’t taste like foie gras, was mushy and not very good. Then we asked to replace the lamb with something else as we don’t really eat that meat. We have been given the choice between fish and chicken. Well we got one of each and gosh.. when those arrived, I got quite shocked.. no plating at all, the fish, just like the chicken were overcooked and had a very blend taste. The side dishes were exactly the same for chicken and fish?! When you call yourself a fine dining restaurant, you cannot allow yourself to serve those on Christmas eve even though this wasn’t on the menu! And then the said « fig tart with goat cheese » were just squares of toasted soft bread, a bit of fig confit and a sphere of goat cheese which wasn’t even good!! (Please look at the pictures, that is exactly what it was!!!).. then comes the dessert.. a real joke, a « candle » of grapefruit mousse with a sphere of white chocolate filled with caramel? The look is awful to start with (look at the pictures, you can already tell), and the tastes don’t even mix well together!! The whole dining experience has been an awful one, and guess what, we paid 280 EUR for this... this was the worst fine-dining experience I have ever had and trust me I have had many all over the world!! I am really not sure the chef was actually there that night as I felt all the dishes elements had been prepared in advance with all the cooks learning how to plate or serve all the dishes for that dinner as it was only one menu. I truly hope for them the chef was not there (which is still not acceptable for such a night when your guests pay this price for dinner) because if he were, I wouldn’t call this cooking and even less call the Plantation Club a fine-dining option!!
Kelly — Google review
Plantation Club is a place were you will defenitely will relax during your breackfast. Food is very testy and staff are very wellcoming, Jayshree was really placent and explain all the menú. The view to the pool and the mountain and the outside bar make a perfect place were you want to come back again and again in your holydays.

AnnaBella's, located in the Telfair Hotel in Bel Ombre, offers an enormous buffet breakfast with Mauritian specialties and picnic-style beach baskets for day trips. The colonial-inspired restaurant features a semi-open terrace and exceptional cuisine. Guests can enjoy Mediterranean-style lunches, wood-fired pizzas, and rum tasting events at various venues within the hotel.
Exceptional breakfast buffet and service from the staff. Cute cats for company too. They lost a star for the dinner buffet as I don't think the quality of the food met the price (lower the price or raise the quality).

It’s the main restaurant. their breakfast is not bad but there was no many choices. The dinner was average. Eggplant salad was ok 6/10 Fish fillet was a little hard 4/10. Lemon tart was delicious 9/10

Service is awful…. Not feel that they respect their customers 😂 one waiter try to ignore my husband and only talk to me although I was not eating and only my husband is having dinner 😂 and then when he serves other white ladies and he smiled so happily 😅🤣 don’t want to judge…. But please respect people with other skin tones 😀 and your skin is not white as well 🙈😅 Also what’s the wrong with the dressing code?! You are resort hotel 😅 as long as customers not wearing bikinis and pants only in the restaurant, I don’t see there is any problem. We were allowed to join in, but….. 😂 it’s a crazy requirement Octopus salad was nice, but chicken was ???? 😂
Zoe — Google review
The food is good in the breakfast and at dinner. The place is nice. The service is not including any drink even water at dinner which is strange. At dinner, the food is ok if it is buffet but bad if is ale card.
Yousef A — Google review
Breakfast shocking. Flies everywhere, and the quality is very very poor for the 2,200MUR charged per person. Most food gone by 10am. If they're charging until 1030 they should have food in sufficient quantities to last until that time. Probably fine if it's included in your room rate, but avoid if you're staying in the Villas.

AnnaBella's offers excellent dining experience that we had the pleasure of visiting multiple times during our stay, and we loved it each time. The restaurant's ambiance is charming, with a cozy and intimate setting that is perfect for a romantic dinner. The service is impeccable, with attentive staff who go above and beyond to ensure that your dining experience is perfect.

Nestled in the heart of Mauritius, Heritage Golf Club offers easy access to popular attractions like Black River Gorges National Park and Frederica Nature Reserve. The resort boasts top-notch facilities including WiFi and a fitness center. Voted as one of the world's top 100 luxury golf and beach resorts, it underwent refurbishment in 2020. Guests can enjoy unlimited sparkling wines at the bars and free access to an 18-hole championship golf course, Le Chateau Golf Course.
My recent visit to the golf club in Mauritius was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I stepped onto the course, I was captivated by the stunning landscapes and meticulously maintained fairways. The club's commitment to excellence is evident in every aspect. The course itself offers a challenging yet enjoyable layout, catering to golfers of all skill levels. The undulating terrain, strategically placed hazards, and well-designed greens provided a truly engaging round of golf. The staff at the golf club deserves special commendation. Their warm hospitality and genuine enthusiasm for the sport created a welcoming atmosphere. Whether it was assistance with club rentals, expert advice on course strategies, or a friendly chat at the clubhouse, their professionalism left a positive impression. The clubhouse facilities were equally impressive, offering a perfect blend of comfort and elegance. The post-game amenities and dining options were top-notch, adding to the overall satisfaction of the visit. In conclusion, the golf club in Mauritius exceeded my expectations on all fronts. It's a must-visit destination for golf enthusiasts seeking a premium experience amidst breathtaking scenery. I wholeheartedly recommend this establishment and can't wait to return for another round! The lunch was submlime too 👌

The course and greens are kept in good condition. A good variety of holes, not too challenging but challenging enough for an enjoyable round. Caddy staff friendly and helpful. Being so close to the coast you'd expect more views of the sea, but it's a good looking course anyway.

Superb golf course and facility at Bel Ombre in Mauritius. Proper championship stuff. All the course was in wonderful condition, fairways, greens, water hazards, bunkers. Paradise for golfers. Well catered, lovely clubhouse, friendly knowlegable staff. And a very well stocked pro shop. (Although some of the clothing was a tad expensive, as you might expect)

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Heritage Golf Club – Le Château Course: Mauritius Golf at Its Finest Heritage Golf Club’s Le Château Course is nothing short of world-class — a meticulously designed layout set against one of the most spectacular backdrops on the island. Framed by rolling hills, lush sugarcane fields, and sweeping views of the Indian Ocean, this course strikes the perfect balance between championship-level challenge and natural beauty. The course itself is in superb condition. Fairways are perfectly manicured, greens roll true, and the overall maintenance rivals top international resorts. Designed to reward precision and strategy, Le Château offers a variety of holes — from elevated tee boxes with panoramic views to water-lined fairways that demand accuracy. Every hole feels distinct, making the round both mentally engaging and visually unforgettable. Service is exceptional from start to finish. The staff are genuinely welcoming and efficient, from the pro shop check-in to the starter and course marshals. Caddies and buggy service are smooth and professional, adding to the overall sense of polish. The practice facilities — including a well-equipped driving range, short game area, and putting greens — are excellent for a proper warm-up before your tee time. After the round, the clubhouse and terrace overlooking the course provide the perfect setting to unwind, with great food, cold drinks, and views that remind you why Mauritius is a top-tier golf destination. In short: Heritage Golf Club’s Le Château Course is a must-play for any golfer visiting Mauritius — whether you’re here for leisure or serious play. It combines challenging, beautifully designed golf with flawless course conditions and exceptional hospitality. It’s not just a round of golf; it’s an experience.

Very friendly staff, more easy going than other courses I visited on Mauritius (they won’t chase you down the course if you’re 2 minutes behind your time f.i.). Beautiful course, not easy but fun. Shop offers used balls at discount prices, you should get some, you’ll lose a few. Restaurant also very nice at fair prices. The course is not right next to the ocean (as I thought) but has some beautiful slopes and vistas in all directions. If I come back to the island, I come back here.
Felix R — Google review
The course is very nice but management is highly unreliable; we had booked our tee time months before and they changed it from 10.12 to 7.30 without advising us. People there were not able to help and were lost in space. Not sure what is going to happen, it was prepaid and we were very disappointed. Avoid this golf course even though it is nice

Specializing in seafood, the restaurant presents an extensive menu featuring fresh fish and shellfish prepared with a Mauritian twist. Diners can savor dishes like grilled lobsters and octopus curry while enjoying the island's rich culinary traditions. The restaurant also boasts a bar serving Mauritian delicacies with breathtaking views of the ocean.
This was one of my favourite dining restaurants when staying for 9 nights at Awali. The menu options are good, everything tasted was very good and the chocolate mud cake dessert is to die for! Service was also great.

Amazing food and service at this restaurant. Not only is it beautiful on the eye but it is a burst of flavour in your mouth!

The service all over the hotel was great but the food here was the best - lunch and dinner was great every time. Everyone was awesome but a special mention to Arbaz for his friendliness and humility.

We've had both dinner and lunch at Infinity Blue. The most beautiful restaurant of Heritage Awali, where you can dine by the ocean and in the sand. 🌊 At the dinner we've tried, -Grill calamari with curry spices -Chicken and prawn ballatine -Papillote (star of the day, you must try 👌🏼) And we had creme brulee and chocolate for dessert. For lunch, we had hamburger and catch of the day. Catch of the day was great and delicious! 👌🏼 Plus we had carrot cake and thin apple tart for dessert. The portions were generally in enough for lunch and dinner. In the evenings, you may wanna wear something extra as there is an cool ocean wind. 😊 I wish to have more seafood options in the menu 🙏🏼

Unfortunately this was the most overrated restaurant we tried in Mauritius. Everything from first course to the dessert was a disappointment. First course: the bouillabaisse clam stock had almost no flavour and contained 4 single clams. The second starter, the catch of the day in the salad was extremely overcooked. Main course: the half cooked tuna steak was unfortunately the toughest tuna we have ever tried. The other fish fillet was okay, but nothing memorable. Dessert: we shared the Moringa Parfait, which unfortunately didn’t taste like moringa at all and should’ve been called vanilla parfait. Our server and the view over the sea were nice, but overall we would absolutely not recommend this restaurant.

I found it extremely expensive relative to the quality of the food which was not great. We were 6 for dinner, with 4 children, and paid about €50 per person with 2 glasses of wine, 3 starters, 3 mains, and 3 children buffets. Wouldn’t recommend.

Savana Restaurant is the hotel's main buffet dining option, serving breakfast and dinner. The restaurant features four pavilions set amidst picturesque ponds, offering a variety of international themed cuisine. Additionally, guests can enjoy an a la carte Italian experience at the Kuzini corner. Some visitors recommend trying the Wine & Dine in the wine cellar for exceptional food and thoughtful wine pairings.
I can't really understand why everyone is complaining about Savana. It's a great buffet with PLENTY of options. If you are unhappy with the food then you are clearly out of touch with reality. We had great quality food and service each time.

Savana has an buffet concept that you can have breakfast, lunch and dinner in Heritage Awali. No reservation needed. The restaurant tables are by the pool and the indoor-outdoor transition is great! 🌴 Unfortunately, food variety in the restaurant is not enough. It would be nice to have options from world cuisine with salads, appetizers and soups as well as Mauritian foods. 😐 Other than that, everything was clean and the staff was very kind, thank you 💜
Deniz A — Google review
It is a buffet restaurant inside the Heritage Awali Resort. We had dinner here one night where we could not get a table at any of the other restaurants on the resort. We paid 2000 MUR pr person excluding drinks, this is a lot more on any of the other restaurants for a la carte menu which is much better. In general I can not recommend this place for dinner due to cost and quality of the food. It is a poor buffet with limited selections. Avoid and book a table at one of the many other good options on the Heritage resorts.

Restaurant Les Palmiers Chez Dev is a hidden gem nestled near the stunning Chamarel Seven Colored Earth in Mauritius. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with warmth and hospitality that sets the tone for an unforgettable dining experience. The menu boasts an array of delectable dishes, including some of the freshest lobster and grilled king prawns you'll ever taste—truly a seafood lover's paradise! The ambiance is equally enchanting, with picturesque views of lush mountains and nature that enhance your meal.
We stopped here during a tour of the south of the island. It's well worth a visit. The food was lovely and was served on a banana leaf. I had the chicken creole curry and my husband had the hotter chicken curry. Both were very tasty. Definitely try the heart salad for starter. Staff were warm and friendly.

The restaurant owners was very friendly and accommodating. The food experience was excellent eating on palm leaves. The curries was tasty 🤤 and the side dishes perfectly complimented the dish.
Eugene W — Google review
We were taken here as part of the south tour. The soup was ok, nothing else was good about my meal, which was severely overpriced, almost three times the price of an average meal elsewhere on the island that isn't a 5 star hotel. We felt scammed as even the restaurant across the street was also overpriced and we were hungry.

Visiting restaurant LES PALMIERS is not a good experience. When we arrived in mid day for lunch it was full and we had to wait in  private premises to get a table. The menu consisted of either fish or chicken plate for 600 MUR and tap beer for 175 MUR. After 20 mins, main dish has arrived on the banana leaf. Portions were very small and cold, not tasty at all. Many friends from our group tour were shocked as well. total bill for 2 persons 1550 MUR It was not a matter of price, but what you got for it. We had no alternative to eat elsewhere, because the tour operator brings all groups solely to that “establishment”, despite passing several other restaurants. The staff consists of one manager and 2 bartenders. The toilets are located very close to the dining tables and did not seem too sanitary. Many nationalities including French, Swedes and Brits were not happy as well. This place should be completely reorganized before making any offers for tourist tours. Definitely the worst part of our visit to Mauritius.

(Translated by Google) Unfortunately I can't write anything positive about this "restaurant". For us this is not a restaurant, but more of a snack bar. The taste of the food is hardly edible. I had painful heartburn for hours every day. The food has the quality of a mediocre bistro. The cocktails are served without any decorations and cost around €8-10. My cocktail was served with lumps and spilled directly onto my table mat. The waiter walked away without a word, without wiping the lumpy broth from the table. I was afraid of getting food poisoning so I put the stuff back. The tables are not cleared for a very long time, around 30 - 60 minutes. In addition, these are only very poorly covered. Only a red table mat covers this old gray stained table. There is no tablecloth, candle or other decoration to be found here. The ambience is really run down and shabby. The furniture is worn out. Once I accidentally touched a brown stain on the table. Turns out it was probably oil or sauce from the previous guest. I had this disgusting smear on my fingers because the tables were cleaned very poorly (if at all). A stray dog sat almost next to me the entire time I was eating. Only the plastic curtain was between me and the dog. This plastic curtain is dirty, milky and looks really old. There is no trace of a 5 star luxury hotel complex here.

A charming kiosk offers homemade artisanal ice creams and sorbets crafted from seasonal ingredients like Royal Pineapple with pepper and tamarind.
Service staff are awesome. Never once did I need to get their attention or ask for anything, things just magically appeared. No wine in my glass, blink, there's wine in my glass. My daughter just took her last sip of sprite, guess what? No, she didn't. I thought the starters were a bit small at first. it turns out it was the perfect amount of food. Thought the same about the mains, and then the same thing happened. We asked for sides that weren't even on the menu, guess what, they had them. Everything we put in our mouths was fantastic. My son isn't a big eater outside of my own cooking, and he loved his meal. The food was excellent and authentic and also catered to a western pallette. The chef is very talented. The atchar was delicious. I bet if I had asked for it with a bit more heat, they would have delivered. Didn't even ask for the bill. It just magically appeared in front of me at the perfect time. Do not sleep on this restaurant, in fact, book 2 or 3 nights during your stay. These guys do not miss. 🎯 One small thing, the purple is polarizing. One BIG thing, your menus are huge. Not the amount of food options on them, they are literally bigger than the table. Please make them smaller.

Quite possibly the best Indian restaurant in Mauritius and its talented head chef, Harjit! The murgh makhni, Paneer, and thali were absolutely divine, showcasing chef Harjit's culinary expertise and passion for Indian cuisine. The flavors were rich, authentic, and a true delight to the taste buds. Chef Harjit's attention to detail and dedication to creating unforgettable dishes were evident in every bite. The murgh makhni was an exquisite blend of spices and creaminess that I've never experienced elsewhere. The paneer was tender, perfectly spiced, and simply addictive. The thali was a perfect representation of the diverse flavors of India, and each dish was thoughtfully prepared with love and care. From the appetizers to the desserts, every element on the thali was a treat to savor. The restaurant's ambiance was inviting, and the staff provided top-notch service, making the entire dining experience truly exceptional. I highly recommend this restaurant and chef Harjit to anyone who wants to experience the best of Indian cuisine in Mauritius. This place is a true gem!

We couldn't find a place to eat on a Sunday afternoon. We were all getting hangry, until we came across Bistro Anvers. The food was absolutely amazing! We ordered the calamari, chicken and crab soup for entree. The fish and octopus curry was 😍😍 Very well made, local and home-y. The food was well served, perfect timing in a way that we could eat everything endlessly! 😅 The service was excellent. We were happy to learn that this restaurant is ran by 3 hard-working woman 💪 We ate, laughed and had an amazing time by the sunset. They even gave my dad a little souvenir to bring back to Australia. Thank you Bistro Anvers for an amazing time!

The best food I had here so far (including 5 star hotel restaurants). It’s very simple, but incredibly delicious. The lady which runs the place also cooks and serves, and she’s nothing less than a treasure. We ate here 4 times and each time were impressed. It honestly was more tasty than in the Chateau restaurant nearby. Not mentioning the price! Absolute value for money. You won’t regret coming there! The menu isn’t so big, but if you ask they’d cook much more.

Friendly staff, but disappointing experience. They offered a menu that wasn’t actually available. After we ordered, the staff returned after some time to inform us that the dish we specifically came for was unavailable. My wife ordered fish but was served a chicken steak instead. Hmmm. Three stars for the owner, who handled the issue professionally and apologized. In the end, we only paid for the Coke we drank and left hungry. We could have ordered something else, but we simply didn’t want to stay. Hopefully, other guests will have better luck.

We came for lunch. The restaurant looked quite empty and not very inviting. I asked about the fish of the day and whether it was fresh — the chef assured me that it was. However, when I received the dish, it was immediately clear that the fish wasn’t fresh, or had been previously frozen. It had an unpleasant aftertaste, and unfortunately, it took my wife and me two days to recover from that meal. We decided to come because the reviews were good, but sadly, we were deeply disappointed — the experience really affected the rest of our stay on the island.

Very nice. Local food at local prices. Clean and a small menu which is always a good sign. A warm welcome. We made it our daily stop. The roti curry vegetarian is especially good ! Noodles good, fried rice good, wrap with peanut sauce good !

Not a good experience! We came here with high expectations based on all the great reviews — perhaps too high... Honestly, I really don’t understand the high rating. The vegetarian curry was extremely overpriced for what you get. The portion felt totally out of proportion and definitely not worth the money. You can eat much better, with more taste, and for way less elsewhere. The food itself was bland and lacked flavor. Also, the menu on Google could use an update — since the last visible version on Google, the price of the “sunset vegetarian curry” has doubled, which was a real shock to us. Just something to be aware of. And besides that, the staff didn’t seem particularly cheerful or welcoming either, which affected the atmosphere. And although the experience was bad, we still left a tip out of respect — without even receiving a smile and a thank you. That felt quite off and left a negative final impression.

La Roche Cari is a delightful gem in Mauritius that showcases the island's rich culinary heritage. I had a deeply disappointing experience at this restaurant with my husband and our two small children. We were very hungry and decided to stop here, hoping for a nice meal. However, the moment we arrived, we were met with rudeness and what felt like discrimination. An older woman greeted us and asked, “How can I help you?” in a very dismissive tone, as if we didn’t belong there or couldn’t afford to eat. We politely asked if we could sit and order something, and she started rambling about how "the lady of the house" wasn’t there, which didn’t make any sense.Eventually, we were given a menu, but no one came to take our order. Meanwhile, the owner showed up and started giving all her attention to tourists, completely ignoring us. We sat there waiting for over 30 minutes with no service at all. We left feeling humiliated, unwelcome, and very upset. It was clear that we were being judged based on our appearance, and the way we were treated was completely unacceptable. This place should be avoided if you expect to be treated with basic respect and dignity.

Called in for a quick lunch before booking into our hotel. Had grilled chicken and fries which was good. Although they dont sell beer themselves, they can get you a couple of bottles of Phoenix from next door. She took 20 mins to take our order, and took another 15 just to bring our drinks. We ordered simple dishes, 4 mine bouilli! They made us wait for more than 1 hour since we ordered!! After the hour when we asked her, she said she had only one person in the kitchen. Ultimately, we were so disgusted with the poor service, we paid for only our drinks and left. Not recommended!

Italian restaurant
Kuzini is an Italian restaurant located at the Heritage Awali hotel, offering a delightful dining experience. Guests can savor gourmet Italian cuisine and enjoy friendly and accommodating service. The menu features dishes like Insalata Caprese, Linguine Con Gamberetti, Penne Piccanti, tiramisu, and panna cotta al pistachio. While some diners found the portions to be small for a 5-star hotel restaurant, others praised the delicious flavors of their meals.

We've had Insalata Caprese as a starter and liked it a lot! 🍅Continued with Linguine Con Gamberetti and Penne Piccanti as the main course. I highly recommend the Linguine con Gamberetti. 👌🏼 But the pasta was a bit overcooked, not al dente. 😕 For dessert, we tried tiramisu and panna cotta al pistachio. Panna cotta wasn't very good, tiramisu was okay. Also the parmesan bread served was soo delicious!!🥖

It's such a pity that this was the worst restaurant the we tried when we stayed at the Awalli Heritage Hotel. We were expecting a lot more from it, but it finally disappointed us. The service was super slow, and when we finally managed to order, the size of the portions was so tiny, that we had to go to the buffet to finish dinner.

(Translated by Google) Italian Restaurant, which belongs to the Heritage Awali hotel. The starter was small but it was good. The dish, spaghetti with mussels, very good but there were only 3 mussels in it. For a Restaurant belonging to a 5 Star hotel, the quantities will have to be increased. The staff was very good. Le plat, spaghetti aux moules, très bon mais il n y avait que 3 moules dedans. Pour un Restaurant appartenant à un hôtel 5 Étoiles, il va falloir augmenter les quantités. Le personnel était très bien.

Pearl Fisher is hands down one of the most memorable spots in Mauritius. From the moment you arrive, you're met with a warm, welcoming atmosphere that blends island charm with relaxed elegance. Whether it’s a romantic night out or a laid-back dinner with friends, the setting is just perfect. One of the first things you’ll appreciate is the spacious parking such a relief, especially during busy hours. It makes the whole experience smooth right from the start. The food is exceptional fresh, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. The seafood, in particular, is a must-try. Every dish reflects real passion and attention to detail. The service is just as impressive. The staff are friendly, professional, and genuinely care about making your visit special. You’re not just dining you’re being looked after. What really sets Pearl Fisher apart is that it’s more than just a restaurant. They also offer fantastic ocean tour services, giving you a chance to explore the incredible marine life of Mauritius through boat rides and guided excursions. It’s the perfect way to round out your experience. Pearl Fisher delivers on all fronts food, service, ambiance, and added experiences all in one beautiful location. Highly recommended for both locals and visitors

An absolute gem for anyone craving authentic Mauritian flavors! The seafood was incredibly fresh—perfectly grilled fish, curry that was rich and full of island spices. Their local dishes like fish curry were just as impressive, showcasing real home-style cooking with a refined touch. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a coastal charm that matched the menu. Service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking to experience the true taste of Mauritius. A must-visit for both locals and tourists!

Freshly opened seafood restaurant with high quality food - especially creoles style. Also very well priced - fish around 600-700 rupees. The overall experience good… backyard needs to be still more developed. Free available parking inhouse, super nice and quick service. We can recommend it for lunch or dinner.

Food was delicious and cozy atmosphere. Prices are reasonable. Waiting time for the starters was too much. Will visit again.
