Hardy's Verandah Restaurant is a top-notch fine dining experience located within the historic Mount Lofty House in the Adelaide Hills. The restaurant offers sweeping views of Piccadilly Valley, providing a picturesque backdrop for an unforgettable meal. The seasonally changing 4 to 7 course degustation menu showcases the Valley to Verandah concept, featuring options for pescatarians and vegetarians.
I’m not even kidding but the service here is absolutely unreal. 👏🏼👏🏼 The three gentleman that worked the high tea (12pm-2pm) on the Verandah today, service was impeccable. Lovely men! The food is stunning and delicious. We need more of those coronation chicken sandwiches and buttermilk sconces. ⭐️ The venue itself is gorgeous too but we all know that from the photos. So worth the money. Many thanks to the team. You made our day out so much relaxed when our with our little one. 🤍🩵⭐️

No signage on main entrance which made it difficult to find. Just having a sign with each of the establishments within would be super helpful to new patrons. Walk up the stairs, the door will be closed but its unlocked so you just walk in and its at end of the hall on the right. We booked the high tea which was exceptional. They don't have a coffee menu but can make most standard orders. They didn't have hazelnut syrup available for cappuccinos though. The staff were friendly but I would have liked a bit more table service for drink refills etc. Cannot say a bad thing about the selection of food on the high tea. Everything was amazing. Probably the best high tea I've been to. They did not miss. The Scones were soft but not too crumbly, powdered but not messy and had a crisp glazing. Clotted cream was lightly seasoned too. Perfection really. The sandwiches were light refreshing and flavorful. Big fan of the bacon egg with wasabi mayo. I'm not the biggest enjoyer of seafood but the salmon Blini was also delicious. A flavor palette to suit and satiate anyone I feel. Monto rosso donut was interesting and tasty. I dislike celery but it meshed really well with the flavor. All the sweets were wonderful. The Madeline and frosting was delicious cakey and light. The Cherry bakewell tart had marinated Cherries and the flavor was definitely alcoholic strong but was really complimented by the pastry and creaminess. Mini pav was light and soft. Choux pastry was the perfect texture. We only had 2 other tables aside from us so you get a lot of privacy and an absolutely stunning view. I love the elegant cottage feel to the decor and the chairs were very comfortable. Will definitely be back again. Keen to try some of the lunch/dinner options.

We had the seven-course dining experience at Hardy’s Verandah Restaurant and it was truly exceptional. We had requested halal meals in advance, and everything was prepared and served accordingly, which we really appreciated. The staff were incredibly polite and attentive , each dish was beautifully presented, and the waiters took the time to explain every course in detail. The atmosphere was elegant, and the overall experience was both luxurious and memorable.
Behnaz Y — Google review
This restaurant is overrated. The food itself tastes ok, but for the price you’re paying, you’d expect more like some kind of “wow” factor — which just isn’t there. Everything felt very average. What really stood out, though, was how surprisingly small the portions were. For example, the beef dish only had about two bites’ worth of meat. I even added two side dishes. I bet even you go through all seven courses you still hungry. Each course was basically just few bites. Another point that really affected the dining experience was the service. While we were still talking to one server about the dishes, another interrupted us ask if he can clear our plates? It came across as unprofessional and lacking basic courtesy. But what made the experience truly unpleasant was the constant presence of body odor throughout the entire meal. It wasn’t just a moment — it lingered from the beginning to the end of the meal, which made it hard to enjoy the food. I’m not trying to be offensive or discriminatory. This is simply an honest observation. Some individuals naturally carry a stronger scent, but in a restaurant setting, especially at this price point, it’s something management should really pay attention to when staffing the front of house. Not worth a second visit.

We had a wonderful high tea experience here on Boxing Day. On arrival we were greeted warmly by staff and seated at a table with an amazing view. The furniture and artwork also makes this experience feel special. Upon serving high tea, the staff explained the food tier by tier which helped us to get an idea of what we were going to eat. The unlimited tea and coffee offer just made the experience even more pleasant. We felt comfortable and enjoyed the food during our time spent here. Definitely recommend this restaurant for wonderful high tea experience.

Never in my life have I been more impressed by a high tea. I like high tea. I've had a lot of them. But Hardy's Verandah takes the prize. We arrived a bit early and went for a walk around the house. The views of the Adelaide Hills were pretty remarkable. When we eventually went inside, we were completely taken aback. The interiors were beautiful. Thoughtful, warm and elegant. Even the toilets were luxurious. When our host showed us to our table, the view was so good I nearly fell over. It was a real "wow" moment. When the food arrived, it was clear this wasn’t going to be a token effort. The standard was high, everything was well executed, the flavours were interesting, and there was a lot more food than it looked like at first. We’d gone in expecting a light lunch. It wasn’t, and that was a pleasant surprise. Standouts included the coronation chicken sandwich, a cheese doughnut with a surprisingly good flavour combination, and scones that were the best I’ve ever had. No fuss. Just excellent baking. We were celebrating a birthday and the staff brought out a complimentary brownie with a message. A small gesture, but thoughtful and well-timed. The service throughout was attentive without being over the top. The whole experience felt considered and well put together. If you're heading to the Adelaide Hills, go to Hardy’s. Their high tea is worth it. Thanks for a very memorable day. ♥

I had the best time celebrating my birthday at Hardy’s Verandah high tea! The service was lovely and I was even welcomed with a complimentary bubbly, which made the day feel extra special. The view was stunning, the atmosphere light and cheerful, and we got to try as much tea as we liked (the hibiscus was my favourite!). The food was delicious – both sweet and savoury – with perfect scones. To top it off, they surprised me with a birthday dessert. Such a memorable experience to share with my family, highly recommend!

We recently had the pleasure of dining at Hardys Verandah and were blown away by the exceptional experience. The 7-course tasting menu was nothing short of spectacular, each dish more delightful than the last. Every bite showcased the chef’s skill and attention to detail, with flavors that were both innovative and comforting. But what truly made the evening unforgettable was the service. Jamie and Pietra (If I have spelt this wrong, please let me know and I will edit it) went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful experience. Their attentiveness, warmth, and knowledge of the menu really elevated the whole night. They made us feel welcomed and at ease, answering questions and offering recommendations with a smile. Overall, Hardys Verandah delivered an incredible dining experience that combined exquisite food with top-tier service. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to indulge in an unforgettable meal and view.

Restaurant
Nestled within the picturesque vineyards of Penfolds Magill Estate, the restaurant offers a delightful culinary experience that celebrates seasonal ingredients paired with exquisite wines. Following an impressive 18-month renovation, this stylish venue now boasts a chic interior designed by Pascale Gomes-McNabb, featuring bespoke blackwood tables and stunning sculptural lighting that perfectly complements the lush views of the surrounding landscape.
A Masterclass in Modern Australian Fine Dining Dining at Penfolds Magill Estate Restaurant was, without exaggeration, one of the most extraordinary culinary experiences of my life. From the moment we arrived, every element was executed with precision, warmth, and understated elegance. This is a restaurant that doesn’t just serve food — it tells a story, celebrates the land, and elevates every bite into something unforgettable. The menu was a symphony of texture, flavour, and thoughtful presentation. Each course felt like a love letter to South Australian produce, artfully composed and expertly balanced. The Magill Estate Crumpet was a revelation — delicate, savoury, perfectly constructed — it captured the essence of the estate with every bite. The oyster with Pink Lady apple was an inspired opening snack: bright, clean, and utterly moreish. The school prawns with pumpkin, melon, and crystal caviar offered a sublime interplay of salt, sweetness, and crunch — easily one of the highlights of the meal. But it was the duck that stole the show — cooked to perfection, rich and succulent, it was a masterclass in flavour and restraint. Every wine pairing was considered and elevated the dish it accompanied, showcasing Penfolds’ heritage and finesse. The service was impeccable — professional yet personable, attentive without intrusion. And of course, dining against the backdrop of the Adelaide Hills with views over the vineyard added a poetic sense of place. A truly exceptional experience from start to finish. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

We had an amazing dinner at this beautiful vineyard restaurant. The view was stunning, the atmosphere relaxing, and the service was top-notch. Every dish was delicious and paired perfectly with the wine. A truly memorable evening — we’ll definitely be back!

Great view to the north of Adelaide metro with a classy setup. Food is good, some interesting idea and ingredients aiming for local produce. Wine pairing reasonably good as they should be from the one of the biggest producer in the country. The peak enjoyment over 3 hours was the 10 minutes with the glass of Grange - so called top 10 Shiraz in the world, under the view of the city. There is a financial cost associated with all these, which I will say expensive for the level of enjoyment and satisfaction. Still give 5 stars as I think >98% people should be more than happy with here.

My wife and I were in Adelaide for AFL Gather Round and wanted to kick off the footy long weekend with a fancy meal. Magill’s Estate did not disappoint! A lovely venue with friendly staff and a warm ambience, it was worth every dollar. The starter snacks were cheeky and delicious (the roe crumpet was to die for), the mains were full of well-balanced flavour (the tomato-based course was a personal favourite) and the desserts were yummy and playful. Strongly recommend.

If I could given it 10 stars I would🩷🩷 the best dinning experience I have had in Adelaide! Everything just perfect ! Best service was provided thanks to Neil, the team and Oliver! Wine pairing is superb ! Best dish I had that night was duck pie 🤤🤤🤤thank you so much for making my birthday dinner memorable. If you are looking for some special dinning experience in Adelaide, you can’t miss this

Beautiful estate in the suburbs outside of Adelaide. The drive in is covered in Lavendar and smells great! Lachlan served the tasting and was friendly and informative! Understand Penfolds reputation now the wines are great including the Chinese Wine Trial. Would have loved to do the tours! Must be booked 24 hours in advance

Absolutely outstanding experience at Magill Estate Penfolds. The food was exceptional… every dish was beautifully presented and full of flavour. The gnocchi in particular was a standout… rich, perfectly balanced, and simply delicious. A special mention to Orlando, our waiter, who was phenomenal. He knew every detail about the ingredients and gave spot-on recommendations that elevated the whole dining experience. His professionalism and genuine enthusiasm made the moment even more memorable. Highly recommend dining here..exquisite food, impeccable service, and a beautiful setting.

This is one to tick off the bucket list. It's not cheap, but everything is just superb. Short uber from Adelaide makes it an enjoyable night to eat and drink from a fantastic menu and list of wines. Glad I did this, thanks to the wife for a lovely Christmas present.

Located in the picturesque Adelaide Hills, Uraidla Hotel is renowned for its top-notch brewery, Uraidla Brewery. This eco-conscious establishment prides itself on sustainability and sources its produce locally or from their own garden. The hotel offers a variety of craft beers such as Half Moon Pale Ale and Old Ones IPA. Visitors can savor delicious meals like Ploughmans Board and Charred Cabbage while enjoying the historic ambiance with stone walls, fireplaces, and a charming Glass House.
(I can give star ratings for rooms(because you're listed as a hotel foremost to a restaurant I guess but I can't speak to them), service and location are both 5s, if I could rate your food, it'd be a four, rating systems like this are harsh, I'd give an overall rating of 4 1/2 but I can't, I'd rather list and overall 5 than a 4.) The Uraidla hotel is beautiful, in a gorgeous location, it's beautifully decorated and on cold nights that fireplace is wonderful. We've been 4 or 5 times overall and never had an experience that would stop us coming back. This review is a bit late, we attended on the 25th of September. Theresa served us for the most part, she was kind and timely and real. We really enjoyed her service. Food time, the menu this time around did not seem as earthly as previous visits, however there was great variety and we really enjoyed everything. A friend ordered her steak medium-well, which was more medium-rare. (This was fine with us as she orders medium-well to make up for an undercook, but a fussier steak eater may have been returned it.) We ordered three of the desserts and shared them between the four of us. Our only issue was that the warm apple crumble wasn't warm enough, more room temperature in the middle. Good points though, we enjoyed everything we ordered, the steak tasted great, was cooked to a standard we enjoyed, the rump was amazing (it was the table favourite), another had the surf and turf pie and enjoyed it, we got the potatos and the "garlic bread" (apologies, Ive forgotten what this was actually called on the menu, and Ive forgotten a main meal item.) We also enjoyed all our desserts. No complaints on the drinks, we were here for my birthday and I came here for beer, the coconut stout the Uraidla brewery makes is one of my favourite stouts made in Australia. This year they made an imperial coconut stout instead which is just as good. The only problem with this is I can't have as many!

Had a wonderful lunch today. Not been for a while and love the new menu! My husband had the pie and Moreton bay bug. Just perfect, beautiful creamy mash and generous serve of perfectly cooked broccolini. The bug had a tasty creamy sauce and was a lovely touch, just the right sized portion. I had the Josper chilli chicken with flatbread and rice which was actually recommended to me by another customer. It was 10/10. One of the best lunches I’ve had in a long time. Certainly didn’t miss a beef shnitty, and judging by how busy it was no one else did. Interesting menu and beautiful place and ambience. Staff were perfect, just enough attention without overkill. Took empty plates quickly even though I’m not offended if they don’t whip it off the table the minute my fork goes down. I never eat dessert as dislike sugar but my husband ordered the syrup and ginger pudding and I ended up eating 1/2 of it. Just perfect in every way. Loved that it came with ice cream and cream! Will definitely be back!

Great food, customer service and location. Second visit in a month. No complaints either time and will definitely be going back again. Lovely modern food and the pub classics are there also if you want them! So great to be able to recommend this place!
Marie M — Google review
I was unable to put a star rating for food as this option is not available. Eden is an amazing waitress with fantastic attention to detail. One of us had The mushroom tofu burger was disappointing on a few levels, it was rather dry and bland. A mushroom patty should be moist & bursting with flavour. The fries were lovely though. I had the wedges which had a really tasty coating. Sour cream portion was great. Now to Dessert, I ordered the Warm Apple Crumble Sundae, what a disappointment, warm it definitely wasn’t. I asked just to confirm about the warm aspects. Another one was bought out which was also cold. I was looking forward to it all day. The crumble overpowered all the other flavors in the dish. My suggestion that if this is how it is going to be served, maybe rename. For $15 this was such a small portion also crammed into a very small dish. The atmosphere was lovely. Just such a shame that I was so excited to come for a meal and we are leaving disappointed. Thanks Eden you are a superstar.
Naomi W — Google review
Easy to book our preferred seating area. Very quaint and cosy in the older areas of the pub, with a couple of fires going too, perfect. A range of fresh vege gardens growing to the side were evident on the plate, with a very fresh crispy salad! Mushroom gravy was the tastiest I’ve had for many years. A perfect pub!

Teresa is a star! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Just had the best 300g porterhouse with Paris butter at Uraidla Pub and I’m still thinking about it! The steak was cooked to perfection - but what really made the night was our waitress Teresa. This woman is an absolute gem! Her service was spot-on - attentive, warm, and genuine. We ended up chatting and found out she’s studying film after originally pursuing architecture. Her passion and energy are infectious, and she brought such a positive vibe to the whole experience. Great food is one thing, but service like Teresa’s is what turns a good meal into a memorable night out. She’s the kind of server who makes you want to come back just to say hi. Do yourself a favor - visit Uraidla Pub and ask for Teresa. You won’t regret it! 1/2 star Teresa

had the most SUCCULENT burger. the beef patty was so moist that exorbitant amounts of juice would squirt out on to my plate whenever i would take a bite. i could’ve used a straw to eat it. i seriously felt i needed a lifeguard at the end of that meal. it was excellent 🫶 also, such a beautiful pub love it there :)

Mount Lofty House Estate Adelaide Hills is an upscale hotel housed in a historic 1852 stone mansion. The estate features a refined restaurant, outdoor pool, and spa. Visitors can explore the nearby Mount Lofty Botanic Garden with its extensive collection of trees and wildlife at Cleland Wildlife Park. The area also offers opportunities for scenic drives through market gardens and vineyards, as well as access to the picturesque Mount Lofty Golf Course.
We attended a wedding at Mount Lofty House and had a wonderful experience. The setting was stunning, the food was fantastic, and the homemade cookies were a real highlight! The rooms were beautifully presented and very comfortable — though a little on the expensive side. Overall, a lovely place for a special occasion!

We had a lovely experience at Mount Lofty House. It is a beautiful boutique hotel with lots of history and beautiful views. The food is great, the service was amazing and they were really good at all the smaller details. The location is also great to see lots of things around the Adelaide Hills. This was a really cosy experience in Winter in the Adelaide Hills.

Nothing but good things to say about our first time staying at this lovely resort. Celebrating my engagement with my fiancee today - the service throughout was exceptional. Special thanks to Pietro at Hardy's Verandah. He made our night extra special and is the reason we will want to revisit one day. Another mention for Lisa with her joyful welcome at reception and informative history tour. She did a great job. All the staff were fantastic and the attention to detail was second to none. Thanks to everyone for the service that we received. Kate & Harry - Room 27.

What an incredible experience at Mount Lofty House! This stunning property is steeped in history, providing a perfect backdrop for our 28th wedding anniversary celebration. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the elegance and charm of the grounds, which are beautifully maintained and exude a sense of tranquility. Our stay in the Piccadilly Valley View Room was nothing short of exceptional. The room was comfortable and well-appointed, offering breathtaking views that made our experience even more special. We also had an amazing dining experience at Martha Hardy’s Restaurant & Hardy’s Verandah. A special shoutout to William, who assisted us with our booking and was incredibly helpful throughout our stay. His friendly demeanor and professionalism truly enhanced our experience. The overall service at Mount Lofty House was simply superb. Every staff member we encountered was friendly, helpful, and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect.

Lovely restored manor that offers 5-star service. You feel welcome from the moment you step into the premises and they have kept the lovely historical feel while providing modern day amenities and comfort. We got a room with the Piccadily View. Just gorgeous. Dinner at Martha Hardy’s - food is a little overrated tho service is just excellent, if a little slow. I think it may just be a kitchen turnaround issue. The som is so lovely and knowledgeable… he recommended a beautiful old Riesling that was available on allocation to the hotel. Such a treat! Great morning run at the Botanic Gardens, which is just next door. A number of slopes tho it’s great way to burn some calories! Breakfast is yums and the 5-star service is consistent. Well appointed rooms though the shower design is a little flawed - the water from the shower can’t help but get into the main area. Needs some work here. A suggestion - the chairs at the balcony look great tho are not all that comfortable ;) The complimentary choc chip cookies are really yummy. I love them! Overall, a lovely stay (except for the shower design). Would happily recommend this hotel.

An Exquisite and Unforgettable Stay at Mount Lofty House We recently spent four unforgettable nights at the spectacular Mount Lofty House in the stunning Adelaide Hills — and what an experience it was! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warm hospitality, a delicious welcome drink, and fresh cookies, setting the tone for what would be an extraordinary stay. The accommodation itself was nothing short of exquisite — beautifully restored and tastefully decorated with attention to detail and impeccable cleanliness. The historical charm of the property, combined with modern luxury and thoughtful inclusions, made it a truly special retreat. Daily à la carte breakfasts were a delicious indulgence, and the complimentary yoga and meditation sessions added a calming touch to each morning. We thoroughly enjoyed the guided tour of the estate, complete with a seasonal signature drink and a gift copy of the Mount Lofty House and Estate History book — a lovely keepsake. The wine masterclass was another highlight, offering a curated and informative tasting experience in a relaxed and elegant setting. What truly made our stay exceptional, however, was the professional, accommodating, and genuinely welcoming staff. Their care and attention to detail elevated every part of our visit. Mount Lofty House is a rare gem, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. Thank you for making my first visit to South Australia so memorable and exquisite — I can’t wait to return!

2 people, they tried to charge us a $50 fee for “mains only”. We ordered 2 mains + paired glasses of red wine, 2 other glasses of white wine (with the entree). Ordered a side to share as an entree (not hungry), and shared a dessert. Honestly, the cost doesn’t bother me. Neither of us were hungry so didn’t want entree each, main each and dessert each. But hitting us with a $50 “main only” charge? Embarrassing and ridiculous. This charge is not on the menu and I refused to pay it. Enjoyed a lovely check in to mount lofty house and great hospitality up to that point. Suggest the hotel reviews this pricing strategy and advise it in advance.

The house is lovely, although shouldn’t be advertised as adults only. The place was packed with small children. Georgia was very knowledgeable during the house tour, and very warm and friendly. Cocktails menu could use a revamp.

Authentic Japanese restaurant
Restaurant
Nestled in the picturesque Adelaide Hills, Yuki in the Hills has quickly become a beloved destination for Japanese cuisine since its opening in 2018. This charming 50-seater restaurant boasts traditional wood-clad interiors and features an open sushi preparation station where skilled chefs donning kimonos create culinary masterpieces.
Went for lunch 11th Jan. Very comfortable dining room. The staff were very friendly and polite. Spent $64 for 3 dishes for 2 people including 1 beer. Fair price in my opinion. Food made to order. Not much of a wait time. Maybe 15 people or more at lunchtime. My partner is originally from Japan and she was very impressed with all aspects. There is outdoor seating, but it was too hot to sit outside. Definitely going to be a return customer.

This review is based on my experience yesterday with my family. Couple year ago we celebrate my bday there and the food was good, but pricey. Yesterday we waited for almost 1 hours for the Wagyu Ramen and few other things. Absolutely tasteless ramen, literally 5 super thin slices of Wagyu with less than 50gm. Massive bowl, very little liquid, protein, veg and noodle. The size would only be enough for probably a 3-4 years old child. My son had the salmon with vegetables. The vegetables were extremely salty, super super salty that he could not eat. Later in that day 6 out of 9 of us got very sick with diarrhoea and the kids are still feeling unwell. Talking about price, it’s extremely abusive that make anyone feel like not eating… $7 for a can of coke is a joke. I work in the hospitality industry and in hotels like Sofitel, Hilton or Marriot a can of coke is like $5 for Room Service or restaurant. $7 is a real joke. The cost for those soft drinks are less than $1 a can. Photo attached for the horrible presentation and tasteless ramen. We will not come back.

Yuki in the Hills is my favourite Japanese restaurant in the Adelaide Hills! If you're looking for colourful, flavoursome and innovative food, which is also generous and well-plated, this is the restaurant to eat at! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 **Outstanding Service from a young tall chap called jack at Yuki in the Hills!** I had the pleasure of dining at **Yuki in the Hills** recently, and while the food was absolutely top-tier — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented — it was the service that truly made the experience unforgettable. **Jack**, one of the young team members, went above and beyond to ensure our night was special. From the moment we arrived, he greeted us with genuine warmth and professionalism. Jack has that rare mix of attentiveness and charm — always nearby when needed, but never intrusive. He knew the menu inside out, gave fantastic recommendations (his suggestion for the miso-glazed eggplant was spot on!), and seemed genuinely passionate about the cuisine and customer experience. It’s not every day you come across such a dedicated and mature young professional. Yuki in the Hills is lucky to have Jack on their team — he’s a standout. Highly recommend both the restaurant and asking for Jack if you want your evening to be even more enjoyable!

When this restaurant first opened it was excellent. Hade an unfortunate experience on our second visit, when our entire order was lost, took about a hour to finally get any food, no apologies were offered. We thought we would give it another chance. Made a booking for 4 people to celebrate a birthday. Booked online, and specifically asked not to be seated near the door. (From past experience, I knew how draughty it is at that table) Arrived, to find our table is in front of the door. A hand written list on the table lists all the drinks and dishes not available - a good portion of the menu. No waiting staff approached us at all. The chairs are covered in duct tape, presumably covering tears in the vinyl. Very disappointing. We left shortly after we arrived, before ordering anything. We went across the road to the pub, and had a great meal.

I went to Yuki in the Hills about a month ago and had a less than pleasant experience. My friend and I ordered the vegetable tempura udon soup - as many items were not available due to insufficient stock and produce. We waited about an hour for two small entrees, but never received our mains. It got to a point where the store was closing in 30 minutes and we did not want to wait any longer. The staff were understanding and gave us the meals for free with a coke and a 5 percent discount on the bill. However, the vegetable tempura udon soup came with prawns, something I am allergic to which I briefly alerted the wait staff too. Overall, the staff were accomodating to the situation but I would not return.

Nestled in the charming Adelaide Hills, Ondeen Farm is a unique dining destination just minutes away from Hahndorf. The restaurant is housed in a beautifully restored 1851 homestead and showcases innovative degustation menus that celebrate local artisans and producers. With a warm and welcoming atmosphere, it's an ideal spot for a date or intimate gathering with friends. The interior design is thoughtful, offering picturesque views of the surrounding landscape including a small lake and nearby vineyards.
We were expecting to have a great lunch at Ondeen but our expectations were exceeded! The venue is gorgeous. The staff are amazing - friendly but ultimate professionals too. The food was delicious. Every mouthful was a flavour explosion. We also did a wine tasting and I can recommend that too.

My party of three booked a lunch for 12.30pm and only left h the restaurant at 4.30pm! I get it that we were in for a long lunch, but there were long unexplained breaks between courses. We would have been happy to vacate our seat by the next seating (2.15, 2.45pm, or whenever that may be) as long as the food came in a timely fashion - which it didn’t. We ordered the $120 tasting menu. To the restaurant’s credit, the food was excellent and cooked beautifully. The portion sizes were perfect for us - not too large but not too little. The only reason why I have docked stars is due to the excessive and unacceptable long wait for each course. It seemed to me that the people who got the $75 sharing menu received their food faster, but only marginally. The wait staff were pleasant - one male server whose name we didn’t get was excellent, affable and knowledgeable. The ambience both inside and outside was lovely. In summary, the food was excellent, but it was simply too long to spend 4 hours for a lunch with large gaps between courses when all patrons were essentially eating the same meal with minor variations (tasting menu had a few extra dishes from the sharing plate menu).

Absolutely fabulous couples day out. Starting with a wine tasting guided expertly by the incomparable Agnes who is so welcoming and approachable with her knowledge but clearly has huge expertise, we learnt so much! We followed this with a delicious 5 course lunch that was all local and fresh, beautifully presented and to be commended. Thankyou for an absolutely wonderful day

If I could give this place more than five stars, I would! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and impeccable service that struck the perfect balance between professional and personal. The ambiance? Think cozy elegance meets modern charm – ideal for a romantic lunch out or a special occasion with friends. Now, the food. Oh, the food! Every dish was a work of art – beautifully plated, bursting with flavour, and clearly crafted with care. You can taste the quality of the locally and sustainably sourced ingredients, and it feels good knowing you're supporting a restaurant that values the environment as much as flavour. Highly recommend the bread end and preserved fig pudding for dessert– it’s the kind of dessert that makes you close your eyes for a second just to savour the moment. But then, all the dishes we sampled had the same effect. Do yourself a favour: book a table and prepare to fall in love with food all over again. We're already planning our next outings to Ondeen to try all the other dishes.

We had an amazing chef’s choice 7 courses lunch. I had it with matching wines and my daughter needed to drive so they did a tasting for of the same wines but smaller amounts. It was absolutely delightful. The oysters were the only dish I wasn’t happy with. The lamb was just melt in your mouth and a so delicious and also the pork. I had a fabulous experience and would highly recommend for a place to eat with lovely wines.

Ondeen was a magical spot to spend a dreary winters day in the Adelaide Hills. The open fires & wine were inviting. Each dish was made with integrity & intention behind the origin of the ingredient. Proudly using South Australian produce and flavours. All that comes to mind reflecting on my experience was 'wholesome.'' We did the $75 per person option, and I could not believe how generous the meals were and all we received. Do yourself a favour and indulge in the experience at Ondeen. Make sure you book and allow a few hours to enjoy yourself.

My wife and I had a lovely experience today at Ondeen. A stunning location in the beautiful Adelaide hills. It has a really nice feel as you walk in, the fire was going, (one of many in the building) we were greeted cheerfully and accommodated even though we didn’t have a booking. The staff were friendly and helpful and made sure we were well looked after. The cocktails were nicely balanced and came out quickly. The restaurant has a really nice vibe, it’s cosy without feeling small and is nicely furnished and decorated. The chairs were really comfortable and everything else was aesthetically pleasing. The food came out and we were not disappointed. Beautiful fresh produce locally sourced stood out on the plate and the care and love put into each dish was really evident. We enjoyed our meals and left happy and satisfied. We look forward to returning, as the menu sounds like it will be changing with the seasons. I love that, there will always be something new to try. A must visit in the Adelaide hills

The Crafers Hotel, located just 20 minutes from Adelaide's CBD, has undergone stylish renovations in recent years, transforming it into a sophisticated boutique establishment. The hotel offers casual rooms and a classic restaurant and bar serving traditional pub grub. It is situated near Mount Lofty Summit, offering stunning views over Adelaide and featuring various attractions such as the Mount Lofty Botanic Garden and Cleland Wildlife Park.
An amazing meal with even better service to match. The food was faultless, but what truly stood out was the exceptional service — especially from David. If he’s not already the restaurant manager, he absolutely should be. I’ve never had a waiter ask which hand I prefer to hold my drink with — such a small detail, but it shows incredible attentiveness. My water glass was never empty, and every detail was taken care of. David went above and beyond and genuinely deserves a promotion. He made the experience unforgettable. If I could give more than five stars for service, I would.

Thank you for hosting my birthday lunch for 9 the other day. Everything was fabulous and the food was absolutely delicious. Meals here are always perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. Staff are friendly and welcoming. One small point - there was a lot of confusion at the end about applying the Seniors discount when paying the bill. It got sorted in the end but perhaps this can be streamlined somehow.

visited last week for a casual meal and was thoroughly impressed. I ordered a classic chicken schnitzel paired with a beer — nothing extravagant, yet perfectly executed. The schnitzel was cooked to perfection, complemented by a fresh and vibrant side salad featuring cucumber, radish, and pickled apple. Every element was well-balanced, and I couldn’t find a single aspect to improve upon. The pricing was very reasonable, offering excellent value for the quality provided. I particularly recommend securing a table by the open fire on a winter evening — it creates a warm and inviting atmosphere that elevates the dining experience. Overall, an exceptional visit. I would confidently rate it 9/10 and look forward to returning.

Had a great 3 day stay at the hotel. Staff were always friendly and eager to help with any request or inquiry. Rooms were warm and very clean and well maintained. A few drinks around the fireplace was a great way to finish the day. And the food from the restaurant was excellent.

I've been here as a pub guest. Wonderful atmosphere but very small variety of beer, and food was just too simple. Some of the pubs offer better quality of food and wider variety of beer.

I did not stay at the property we only attended a lunch . The property is beautiful the atmosphere was amazing. We had lunch on a rainy cold day the fires were going it was all so nice . The staff are 5 star. I do not mind paying for nice food. My husband loved his burger . I ordered the fish and to be truthful it was just a unsatisfactory pub meal , the salad was great but the fish was really greasy and if I was in a roadhouse I would expect this but in this establishment NO … I am sorry but I felt it was greasy undercooked it was more a roadhouse meal disappointing .. Sorry would not recommend lunch ..

Nestled in the Adelaide Hills, Patch Kitchen & Garden is a family-friendly haven with a constantly evolving menu that showcases seasonal delights. The restaurant offers a cozy indoor space designed with kids in mind, complete with toys and a dedicated kids' menu. Outside, little ones can enjoy a cubby house and interact with the resident chooks. For adults, the establishment serves up delectable dishes made from fresh herbs and vegetables sourced from their garden or nearby farms.
We walked in last night for a meal, and we ended up having a feast! Everything on the menu was tantalizing, so we decided to go with the Chef’s feed me menu. Each course carefully prepared and portioned to perfection, our waiter Belle was delightful with every interaction and by the end of the night we felt like old friends! The only thing I can liken our experience to is a cute upmarket French bistro with local flavors. We will definitely be back with our friends! Don’t miss the Smokey hummus, the bar sausage flan or the crab pasta…everything was delicious but they were our favorites! Thank you for a wonderful evening and lovely meal!

Found Patch Kitchen and Garden on a Friday lunchtime as we were driving in the hills. What a find! The staff are so friendly, inviting and knowledgeable - and the food tremendous. Every dish was a different journey of flavour - from the roasted tomatoes that were both soft but also popped on your tongue, to the depth of the pasta with beef ragu (which made you grateful for the house- made bread to mop up every last bit of sauce and olive oil). The deserts were equally imaginative and delicious. If you’re looking for a coffee and desert, a lunchtime pasta or - like us - a very lazy Friday lunch, this place can’t miss. We’ll be back for sure!

A great place! Mediterranean (mainly Italian) inspired menu with beautifully executed dishes. The smoked hummus with aubergine and pine nuts was absolutely superb, and our pasta and polenta dishes were excellent too. There’s a short but well-chosen drinks list with an intersection selection available by the glass. Front of house service, courtesy of Belle, was really great - informal but informed, and full of enthusiasm, excitement and interest. We had a great evening.

If you are visiting Stirling, South Australia, this is a must try! This is right on the t801 line if taking a bus from the CBD. Located in a stunning old style home! My sister and I had lunch at Patch and it was easily one of our favourites of the trip! We ordered Reggiano mousse with seeded crisp (my favourite!), Baked Reggiano Flan with meat (beef) ragu, Honey and Anise roasted sweetbreads with pear and a cauliflower puree (this is a meat dish, I did not know what sweetbreads were but it was great!) and Baked Fiore, eggplant, tomato, basil, stracciatella Pasta (My sisters favourite). The food was incredible, the staff were wonderful and we had great service! Definitely recommend and would like to come again ASAP!!!

Patch Kitchen in the Adelaide Hills is a true gem. The location is stunning, the customer service is warm and welcoming, and the food is some of the best I’ve had in Adelaide in a long time. Their squid, which I tend to be quite picky about, was perfectly cooked—easily one of the best I’ve ever had. With each dish, I kept thinking, this is my new favourite. It’s a place that deserves more recognition, offering a standout dining experience in the Hills.
Aggie — Google review
The pastas that we ordered were outstanding and easily some of the best bites we had in Adelaide. The torchiette with chicken heart and livers was especially delicious. Steak and sides was really good value and filling shared between 4 of us, although the char on the steak was perhaps a little overdone for my personal taste (the cook on the inside was still exceptional though). the peanut nougatine and chocolate mousse to end the meal was the perfect treat to end the night!

This restaurant is known for its natural wines and fresh, locally-sourced food. The chefs put a lot of emphasis on fresh produce and herbs, which makes for a flavorful experience. The decor is simple but inviting, with wooden tables and floorboards.
What a lovey venue. It was a perfect 27 degrees so we had a large table for two outside at the front of the restaurant. Service was prompt and each meal was uniquely presented along with an explanation of what it was and where it was sourced from, local and organic. The food was uniquely presented and at first portion sizes seemed small, that was not to be, we were very happy with the sizes. The flavours on each of the items were incredible. Will be back.

#2 Recently returned to find that they are still producing amazing plates of food, using only the freshest local ingredients. One noticeable improvement was the size of the dishes. We partook in Chefs feed me menu and left with incredibly satisfied belly's. Will be back soon. #1 There is so much to love about this place... First let me say that if most restaurants followed the same food philosophy as these guys the world would be a much better place haha. Today's savvy diners are ever more conscious about where their food comes from and eateries are being held accountable to a sustainable "waste not want not" culture. Summertown Aristologist captures and exemplifies the essence of "seasonal" farm-to-table eating, with a green thumb approach to growing all produce at their local veggie patch in Basket Range; and their effort to ensure each component presented on a plate is made in-house further highlights their chefs strive for excellence. Add to this a wine list that is geared around local organic vino and the picture is complete. With "feed me" menus on trend, the recent decision to follow suit at the start of 2020 makes perfect sense. Patrons can roll up, sit back and relax knowing the worry of deciding what to order is in capable hands. Sarah & Matilda ran the front of house like clockwork, whislt the communal style seating brought a welcomed, 'get to know your neighbour' vibe to the experience. The one and only criticism I have (and it pains me to say it), would be that the portion sizes for wk169's menu where a little on the smaller side for two people to share, but maybe that's because selfishly I just wanted more.

Fantastic selection of interesting, creative and quality dishes. They catered well for dietary requirements of my partner while we both had the tasting set menu. Highlights were the ham & brussel sprouts - nothing like any ham you've ever had, and the fried terrine. Super staff, fun wine list, this is the best restaurant I've been to all year.

Friday night dinner at @the.summertown.aristologist - the "don't think about it" menu because we couldn't decide what to have. Ended up being pretty much the entire menu 😅😅. All the food was local, and the menu changes weekly. So good! . Bread and butter: made by themselves, and the bread was super super moist and soft on the inside. The butter was super delicious 🤤🤤. . Fresh curd and green tomatoes: this was a very interesting dish. The curd was light, but really smooth. So yummy! . Gnocco fritti: fried deliciousness with yummy pork on top. Also had some sprinkling of chilli powder on top, which gave it a nice kick! Super super yummy! . Squash terrine: wow the flavours were amazing, and the squash was so soft! . Devilled egg with gochujang: so yummy!! Nice spicy flavour. The gochujang made it extra special 😍😍. . Pickles: some pickled carrots and beetroot! Pretty good 👍. . Goolwa pipis: really tasty, with a somewhat acidic soup that was really delicious to drink! . Broccoli with romesco and furikake: nicely grilled with a smokey flavour. The sauce made it super yummy 🤤🤤. . Duck heart, sweet corn: wow I really enjoyed this dish! The sweet corn was essentially like a corn porridge, and it tasted amazing. The duck heart was very tender, and had none of the metallic/iron taste that hearts do have sometimes. Great dish 😍😍😍. . Forest range duck, lentils, cettuce: omgggggg this was amazing!!! The duck was smoked and grilled, and the flavours were just incredible 😍😍😍🤤🤤🤤. The meat was very tender, and the skin was super crispy. The rest of the dish were excellent as well. Interesting having the cettuce, which I haven't had in a long time! . Rice pudding with rhubarb: super creamy but not very heavy, and the rhubarb was super tasty!

I really like this cafe. Beautiful fire in winter, great coffee, good selection including gluten free food and when finished you can browse their art gallery which has quality art/craft for sale. Its not too big, not noisy..great place to visit on a trip into the hills

As a family, we shared a light lunch at Atelier Cafe. The atmosphere was lovely. There were wonderful art displays and craft items for sale that created interest in our group. Service was fine, albeit a little slow, and the food was okay. Maybe a tad overpriced for what one gets, (see attached images). Parking was an issue. One needs to either park in the very small carpark at the rear of the cafe or in the tennis club carpark. Then one must walk around to the front of the cafe along the narrow road. Parking for the disabled is directly in front of the door. It is a bit tight getting into the right spot to unload walkers and the somewhat immobile guests. One then needs to back out onto the road and park at the rear.

This place is amazing! Beautiful interior and outdoor seating. They sell a huge amount of local art work and crafts. What a wonderful way to promote local artists! I spent ages looking around. There is a huge selection. The food cabinet offered vegan and gluten free options. Even the bathrooms in this establishment was beautiful and clean. It is on a hill but there is one disabled park at the front, and a car park up the hill around to the left. The coffee wasn’t and and they had soy milk. I will be back with friends and family. Thank you =)

Lovely and relaxing cafe and art space, I agree with others' reviews. They hold art classes and have live music on Sunday's throughout February 2023. Parking is, however, at a premium. There is one disabled park onsite. Their rear carpark is accessed via Cox Creek Rd, (unfortunately no access to the the cafe / gallery just yet), and some will find the walk to the front door slightly too steep. Limited parking on Cox Place. Parking aside, it is well worth the visit.

Very nice venue, lovely location in Adelaide hills. Tastefully decorated. Staff were well trained, attentive but not overbearing. Entrees were small but well presented with a variety of tastes and texture. The main meal was of reasonable size. However the steak was not cooked as ordered, 20% was fat or gristle obviously not trimmed before preparation. Disappointing. Options of wine was minimal cost was excessive. Would I consider returning - not to this restaurant but maybe others at the venue. Would I recommend - no, there are better restaurants with better value for money. Overall - the quality of the building and the staff saved the night.

We ate breakfast here 3 days in a row while staying at the hotel. The a la carte menu was good but also a little limited with no pancakes, for example. The juice was OK, but it would have been better if freshly squeezed. All staff were friendly. Bacon seemed to be cooked through too much (I.e. crispy), which is interesting considering most Australians don't like it this way. Lovely setting in restaurant with beautiful views over the Piccadilly Valley.

Thelma Piccadilly is a new all-day dining bistro opened in August 2024, created by renowned food connoisseurs and talents James Spreadbury, Olivia Moore, and Tom Campbell. The spot draws inspiration from European style dining, offering a seamless transition from morning coffee and pastries to an evening of wine and savory snacks. Chef Tom crafts a seasonal menu with nods to classic European fare while highlighting local produce.
Absolutely sensational lunch at Thelma! The food is creative, seasonal, and bloody delicious. Loved the emphasis on local veg and seafood, each dish had genuine x-factor. Our return to Thelma in Piccadilly confirmed what a truly special dining destination it is. 10 out of 10 for service, food and atmosphere. The staff were very friendly, ( especially Niko). Our food arrived promptly and was beautifully cooked. The location is nestled in the hills with beautiful views. I strongly recommend and definitely going back. We asked to be seated near the open fireplace and were so warm while eating our meal. Also the prices were very affordable and menu was extensive. Particularly loved my seafood dish. Thankyou Jimmy's keep up the good work.

Great experience, lovely array of dishes and pizzas. I was impressed with the texture and flavour of the wood oven dough and each pizza sang with delightful toppings. The wood oven garlic focaccia was also incredibly addictive! For dessert their bread and butter pudding was my favourite! Warm by the fire with creamy gelato. Just divine. The atmosphere is just beautiful and cosy by the fire places. Beer garden is beautiful, definitely a stand out for Summer!

Where to even start. Look at the photos first… Rang up at about 8:00, and, was told to come in for 8:15, received our food about 8:20, went home and began to dish up before realising the state of the carbonara. Was back at the restaurant by 8:45 and asked for a refund or remake. Was told the carbonara was 50 minutes old and that the scrambled ness and oil was normal after its sat for longer than 30 minutes. Keep in mind it had been about 25 by this point, not 30 or 50. Sounds like we had been given leftovers or re-heated food. Pizza was nothing special but in comparison to the carbonara tastes like a dream. Another note to owners and staff, when someone comes in, rushing customers to get back to their personal phones and personal calls isn’t a good look!

We went based on recommendations. Started with halloumi (very good), chicken popcorn (dry wouldn’t order again) and fries (the red pepper ones were nice). After that, we ordered three large pizzas: Pepperoni, Turkish Lamb and Moroccan Chicken. The Pepperoni was fine but the other two were alright but ended up as takeaway. Wine prices also felt on the higher side. On a beautiful sunny day, we were expecting a great lunch. Instead, service was shocking from the start. The staff clearly lacked training—we had to ask for basics like plates. Pizzas took forever to arrive which is a surprise and dishes meant for other tables kept being brought to us (and vice versa). Two starters even arrived after we were done eating out mains!!! The waitress offered to take them back, which we agreed to. The manager’s attitude made things worse. He came over unsure of what he was complaining about. He eventually lost track of his own argument before apologizing once we calmly explained the situation. Apparently he did us a big favor but agreeing to a La carte rather than the set menu. To top it off, when it came to paying, they hadn’t added the drinks and starters to the bill. We had to remind them to include it. Between the food quality, disorganized service and unprofessional management it’s hard to see this place keeping its clientele. Shame considering the great location. We certainly won’t be returning. (Btw they gave us one used pizza box for the take aways 🤦‍♂️).

We came across this place last minute and decided to give it a try. As soon as we walked in, the fireplaces created such a warm and inviting atmosphere. The food was just as impressive. We ordered three different pizzas and a chicken schnitzel—everything was absolutely delicious. The pizzas had a perfectly crisp base with just the right amount of toppings, and the schnitzel with chips was spot on. Couldn’t fault the meal, the service, or the vibe. We left happy and full, and we’d definitely come back again. A solid 10/10!

Nice little cozy place in the hills. Decided to try the pizzas. We tried the Spanish Jamon & Truffle Mushroom Ragu pizza because the ingredients just sounded so interesting. It turned out to be our favourite of the 2 we ordered. The flavours all mixed well and exceeded our expectations. will definitely be coming back for this pizza. I found the pizza base a little bit thick but it held the toppings better than if it was thin.

The food is impressively delicious, satisfying my senses, especially taste and smell. The pizza here is among the top of Adelaide with fresh ingredients and beautifully presented. Friendly and attentive service, especially the girl who is the thinnest but has the most welcoming and natural smile. This cozy space kept me on a cold autumn night.

I had been here once before and had a lovely meal, but this time disappointing. Food was bland, not as described on menu and to top it off, ordered a gin and tonic and asked what tonic, and whilst menu says fever tree, they bring out coles tonic...wow. The sorbet/ice cream looked old, as if not often ordered. For the price point, we expect more. We won't return.

Nestled in the picturesque Adelaide Hills, Crafers Pizza Bar is a delightful spot that embodies the essence of family-style dining. With its charming decor featuring plywood booths and black-and-white checked floors accented by vibrant red touches, this pizzeria creates an inviting atmosphere perfect for gathering with loved ones.
Hands down the best pizza in the Adelaide Hills! The double pepperoni with hot honey is so delicious it’s become a weekly ritual. The restaurant is a welcoming space to sit with friends and enjoy a meal.

Saturday night I had dinner there to eat in. Very busy and very popular, everyone is raving about how good the pizza is and most likely the best pizza for the Adelaide Hills. So many different types of flavours and selection. Pizza has a great size portion and lots of toppings. Definitely ordered for takeaway if you don't wanna wait. Highly recommend it if you are willing to drive up to the eastern freeway to get their yummy pizzas 🍕

Delicious pizza, friendly service, high quality ingredients. Plenty of room to sit inside as well. A good range of slightly different pizzas too, chicken bacon ranch and also a cheeseburger pizza

Absolutely unreal pizza! Please do yourself a favor and make the time to visit this gorgeous little pizza restaurant if you’re in Adelaide. Homemade pickles, unbelievable garlic bread and the pizza - omg. The best I’ve had outside of Italy. 10/10

The double pep is my favourite pizza and the hot honey is delicious. I drive 25 minutes for it and it is the family favourite every time. Always great music and the vibes are definitely there! Went in last night, and was served by a young girl, every time I come in she is always super polite and friendly

Stopped in after a layover in SA, honestly not expecting much, but wow—what an absolute surprise! From the moment the food arrived, it was clear that every dish had been prepared with care and precision. The flavours were bold, perfectly balanced, and bursting with freshness—none of that bland, half-hearted airport fare you sometimes dread. Each plate was beautifully presented, showing real attention to detail, and the cooking was spot on. It’s the kind of quality that makes you sit back and appreciate the skill in the kitchen. Truly impressive. I’ll be coming back without hesitation—brilliant job all around!
