My wife, Lynn, and I stopped here for lunch today and are we glad we did. We were greeted warmly by the owner/chef and shown to a nice table by the window. After perusing the menu we ordered two exceptional dishes. Lynn had steak roasted on stone and I had the seafood casserole. Both dishes were nicely presented. The service was perfect. I highly recommend this restaurant when in Riobamba.

We have been traveling in South America for more than 6 months, this was the best meal we have had since starting the trip. We split the sopa de camarones (shrimp soup) and corvina aplanada con quinua (Ecuadorian filette dusted with quinoa). So delicious and the portions were generous. Service was great. The chef and owner, Luigi, came out to talk with us. He was trained in NYC and has lived in many other countries, so his food has the taste of many different places. The restaurant doesn't look fancy but the food is the best!

The food did take some time before it came out but it was nothing crazy and it absolutely was worth the wait. Meat was cooked perfectly and they were good portions. Would definitely recommend!

It is big but w/ few parking lots. Food: Arrived late for lunch, hungry for a salad and something else but they didn't have any salad available. I have a very sensitive stomach to sauces and spice so I needed to ask the sauce serve apart. One of the waiters told me that the chef was a little bit stubborn and doesn't like to serve dishes w/o sauces. Asked for the first salad it my choice: order accepted. 5 minutes later waiter said it wasn't available. Same think happened w/ other choices. My sense tells me that the chef simply denied to serve us any salad because of my initial request. Finally we order : 1 sprite, 1 beer one fish croquette (very good in taste w/ a kind of Asian ginger sauce) . Total : $12.62 Service definitely could improve. ☆☆ Prices high for local standard☆☆ try hotels nearby.

Extremely expensive. Paella for two barely feeds one. Not enough rice limited amounts of chicken. Seafood shrimp look great but are served with the whole shell and head still on. Taste great but very little food. We would not go there again which is probably why we were the only table there at 7:30pm.

For example, some entrees came with salad and fries, and others didn’t, even though they were in the same section of the menu. We went on a Saturday at 3:30 pm for a late lunch. They attended us well, but they were out of half the entrees on the menu. When we tried paying the bill, we were told that the card machine was not working at the moment.

Delicious oven-cooked ribs just falling off the fork, and service was very professional. Sitting farther inside nearer to the cashier is better and less crowded than the main dining room area.

The pineapple juice was amazing, but the steak and veggies were terrible. Ordered a medium filet mignon, got a well done mystery steak (pretty sure not a filet mignon). It was covered in a mushroom sauce that hid the sins of the chef temporarily, but the toughness and poor quality of the meat were too much for it. Maybe they make other things well, but steak is definitely not their forte. It was easily the worst steak I've had in recent memory (5-10 years).

This restaurant is amazing, the food was really good, the service as well but the most important is the history behind. If you are in Riobamba this is a place that you can not miss. Highly recommend.

Really nice little restaurant with open fire and great ambiance.

Dinner was good. But what I liked best was the atmosphere. The restaurant is in an old house with a Warming fire in the fireplace. First time I had been warm in Riobamba!

To be clear it is not a gourmet restaurant, it is a small family owned establishment and has those limitations so now you know. Definitely worth it if you are in a small group or alone. The atmosphere at night is amazingly cozy and welcoming. If you care about the history of the building it adds to the feeling. The proprietor is very nice and the food is good for what it is ($8-$14) Use the salsa. Really. Put it on everything. On the bread, on the meat, on your tongue, spread it on your chest, pour it into your eyes. Happiness is becoming one with the flavor.

Historic place. Absolutely gorgeous and you have a candlelight dinner. Food is very well prepared, served and very tasty. We sat next to the chimney, so was a very romantic dinner.

I got what I realized too late was essentially a cheese pizza. It was not good - puddle of oil on top, thick layer of cheese, crust was hard at first but became soggy. I ate half (of the mediano) and couldn't finish the rest, it was really bad. Wouldn't recommend. Also pretty pricey compared to other pizza places around the area.

Food was good, surely not Italian pizza, but the ingredients are not available in Ecuador. So the food was ok. The service was also ok, but we didn't like the atmosphere with a loud movie from the 90s.

I asked for Tortilinis with shrimp. They brought me plate of tortelinis barely cooked on the outside. The inside still hard as a rock. Very disappointing. I had to send that back. They told me it would take 30 minutes minimum to bring me the dish. My party already had their dinners half way. They did not even offer me a quick alternative. Simply didn't charge me for it. I had to walk across the street to grab a burger. The worst service I've ever received.

The waiter said it was small because it's for kids and that's why it says Mini but if it's for kids why isn't it in the kids part of the menu. Plus for 5 dollars you would expect more. A little heads up from the waiter would have been nice as well. Felt robbed.

It’s one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in town. They have a lot of options. Usually I ordered a “Popurrí Mexicano” or a “Mexicanazo” which come with a little bit of various options. They also have a large variety of burritos, tacos, among other Mexican dishes. To drink try their agua de Jamaica (hibuscus), tamarindo juice or horchata. If you want something with alcohol they have really good margaritas.

Me and my wife visited here as we were recommend by many but we were really disappointed with the food. The meat was super dry and not enjoyable along with the sauce provided which was of a strange taste. I wouldn’t return here for the tacos, we did try a little bit of the burrito and it was average. Unfortunately I don’t recommend this place!

We tried the vegetarian burrito and the vegetarian tacos. They are edible but they are not so tasty. The nachos with guacamole and the Jamaica water were very nice.

There is a very large, safe, walkable garden that has many interesting corners and unique plantings. There is even a small farm with a friendly mini-donkey, sheep, chickens, ducks and rabbits. Playground for kids and plenty of parking. Really beautiful gem just outside of Riobamba.

Food was absolutely delicious and the view from the restaurant is stunning. I had potato soup, lamb stew and then a tree tomato in syrup. I don't like tomatoes but this tastes far more sweet and fruity. The waiters were very friendly and we were given a welcome drink on the house

The place looks amazing, the food not spectacular but definitely OK. when I received the bill I noticed an extra payment "varios" ! When I asked the personal as to the meaning, they had no answer and went to ask the manager, came back claiming it was for extra alcohol in my drink. when I stated that I should of been asked if I wanted any extra, no clear answer. Such a shame. Just 2$ that left me with a bad feeling ...

Tourists be cautious . I’m in town visiting family from jersey. I have been here for a week and have had no issues with food. I ordered two pies last night to share with the family. I had a slice and a half. I deeply regret it. I had horrible diarrhea last night and today I have diarrhea with a terrible stomach ache. For about 23 US a pie , the taste was not good and the food poisoning is not worth it. My aunt who lives in Ecuador got sick too from the pizza. If I would’ve known this, I wouldn’t have eaten any. The restaurant is clean and kind people work here. Now that we live here it will be a regular. Update, have lived here 1.5 years and frequent here at least once per week. My favorite thing (a big chicken salad) is not even on the menu. We just tell them what we want and they prepare it. UPDATE: We have lived here more than 3 years, still one of my favorite places.
