Pizzería Buona Grill is a cozy Italian restaurant located in Latacunga. They offer freshly made pizzas with scratch bases, catering to both meat lovers and vegetarians/vegans. While the restaurant may be small and simple, it's well-attended and offers delicious pizzas at affordable prices. Additionally, they have another location underneath Hotel Cotopaxi at the city park square.
The personal pollo pizza Is HUGE for me. It's not only huge but very delicious with flavored chicken breast and well baked pizza dough, thin, soft at center and crunchy at outer layer.
I didn't know the pizza was that big so I ordered a plate of spaghetti with diced tomatoes and pork. That was husge in portion as well. And of course was so tasty.

I love pizza but I didn't come all the way to Ecuador to get food readily available at home.
Still i dont regret it. The pizza was decent and the steak was excellent!!

I don't know why this place has so many generous ratings, don't get your hopes up. In Australia and the US the pizza here would be below average. It's slimy, too wet with a strange after-taste. It's very expensive for what it is when a frozen pizza would be more satisfying. My boyfriend had a medium size for $15 aud and I had the small for $9 aud.
But by Latin american standards it's average. It's edible compared to the unappetizing ones we've had.
This place was busy though, I think it's because everything except here is shut on Sunday and perhaps this place has a monopoly in this town. It is not like what you get in montanita, quito or cuenca.

Pizzas made fresh from scratch bases and all. I'm a big hungry guy and I had the mediana pollo for $10 and was completely satisfied. My wife is veggie/vegan and there was no problems there. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Shame we only had one night in Latacunga because we wanted to go back again. They also have a second restaurant underneath Hotel Cotopaxi at the city park square.

The proportions were very small. We were told the nachos were designed to share. It's had very little meat or toppings. So we ordered the Bacon fries. It was about 20 fries with token Bacon. The table next to us had hamburgers they were very small. They left wanting more, but desert is not offered here.. we came here as the atmosphere looked nice. But would not come back.

My Wife and I had the Milanesa Giardino, she with a Cuba Libre and I with a gin and tonic. we shared a plate of bruschetta with our cocktails as an appetizer. The service was excellent and the food was quite tasty.
There were two things that I didn’t like and for this I have given 4 stars and not 5. First, I greatly dislike that they offer a free sangria for a five star rating (obviously I did not take advantage of that offer). Second, although it was not on the cocktail menu we asked they knew how to make a Cuba libre, our server assured us that they did however they did not.
When the Cuba libre was served instead of lime, they included a sprig of mint. We did not ask for a Mojito, we asked for a Cuba libre. It’s really not that hard.
Had a great meal here, very friendly service and the portions are generous. The food was very tasty and having the option to take any of the pasta dishes as a risotto instead meant there was loads of choice. Would happily eat here again!
This restaurant stood out by offering a complete experience. The menu was varied and very delicious, (in my opinion, I recommend that you order the lasagna that is on another level).
The place was comfortable, clean, and had relaxed atmosphere, making it ideal for both casual meetings and more formal dinners. The staff's attention was one of its strongest points: they were fast and attentive, added to the excellence in the food, which made the whole experience enjoyable and something to recommend.
In short, it was a reliable option to enjoy good Italian food, in a pleasant setting, with service that genuinely cared about the customer. Highly recommend.
Best food we've eaten in Ecuador! The basil carbonera, veg lasagna and Focaccia was amazing. Fresh ingredients and high quality pasta. All available as vegetarian.

The waiter was TERRIBLE! He did not have a eye for the clients (which was literally us and 1 other table), was the whole time on his phone sitting at a table while we wanted to order/get the bill/pay. It was really unprofessional. At the end he added 5% service to the bill, which was absolutely not justified as he was doing such a bad job.
Food was ok but not great and did not taste like a real italian meal. The lasagna tasted really strong like wine, the tomatosauce from the pasta amatriciana didn’t taste fresh made.
Would overall not recommend.

One of our best restaurant in ecuador so far ! The owners do their best to provide the warmest welcome and the best food. We had the burgers, juicy meat and perfect balance between the bun, pickles, bacon, salsa etc..!
I would add a sixth star because they helped us taking our bus and stayed open so that we would not be waiting outside.

EAT HERE!! This place is unreal. We came here twice and were blown away each time. We had the vegetarian sandwiches and they are soooo freakin delicious. If this restaurant was in Melbourne, I would be so happy and would eat a sandwich weekly. Staff are also awesome. You won’t be disappointed!!

Chugchucaras Rosita Sucursal Sur-norte is highly recommended for those looking to experience authentic Ecuadorian cuisine. The establishment offers great food and excellent service, with a kind and helpful person in charge. However, it's important to note that this restaurant specializes in pork-related dishes, which may not be suitable for everyone.
This is THE spot to try authentic chugchucaras, especially after a long day at Quilotoa.
The meal is perfect for two but I also recommend pairing it with one of their chicken soups. Delicious!

It wasn't bad, we ask for chicken broth, no potatoes were served with it as it should, their answer, they run out.

Feeling a little homesick and looking for something near my hostel, I stumbled into Kartul, and when the server brought out the burger and tray of sauces, I wanted to cry from the sheer beauty of what she laid before me. This was probably the biggest, messiest, most delicious burger I've had in a looong time. Be prepared to use lots of napkins.
