We had the most amazing breakfast here. Bis was our waitress and took excellent care of us. The guacamole with some of the best I’ve ever had. The berries were fresh. The hot chocolate taste tasted like chocolate and not watered down Cocoa. We had energy shots, water, and over easy eggs on bagels!
Doris R — Google review
We visited Zenith in Porto this morning and had the most delicious brunch. We ordered the Zenith eggs and cheesy bacon scrambled egg bagel. The breaded poached eggs were very unusual and tasty! The bagel was perfect. All the food was so nice and it was all great quality ingredients. We really enjoyed our time here and highly recommend. Lovely friendly service from Daniel too! Definitely check this place out!
Josie A — Google review
The food is not tasty - it looks good, but is not tasty. It's very plain and the portions are small in comparison to what you get at most places in Porto. The aesthetic of the restaurant inside is beautiful, but the music is way too loud inside and you cannot hear your company and actually have a conversation. I will not be going back.
Katerina Z — Google review
good service, but the food is not good. i got the egg zenith with smoked salmon- the salmon was pale in colour and did not taste good. i also got the shakshuka, they asked us with spinach/mushroom or bacon/cheese- we did not realize that they meant you have to add this on with a price. i found the shakshuka to be quite bland and the bacon to be really salty. the double espresso tasted watered down. the food looks good- but the taste was not there.

Zenith in Porto was a beautiful place to have brunch. The service was quick, the food was delicious and the background music inside was also very fun to listen to! Would definitely recommend this place to others visiting Portugal!

What an amazing experience! The food was absolutely delicious and fantastic — I tried tapioka for the very first time and honestly, it was just wow 😍✨ The first drink I had was a detox juice — it was so incredible that I couldn’t resist getting a second one! 🥤💚 The atmosphere was cozy and full of good vibes, and the service made it even better. ma waiter, Daniel, was super friendly and always had this charming smile that made everything feel so welcoming 😊✨ I truly loved this place — from the food to the drinks to the people. It’s one of those experiences that makes you feel happy and grateful just to be there🇵🇹

We had such a lovely experience at Zenith! We were seated straight away, and the wonderful lady who looked after us, Bia, couldn’t have been nicer – so friendly and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious, and the coffee was so creamy and perfect we ended up ordering a second round! The atmosphere was great, with nice background music and a really relaxed vibe. Overall, just a lovely place all around – we’d definitely come back again!

Noshi Coffee is a bright and artistic cafe with an indoor patio that offers health-conscious food and specialty coffee. The space prioritizes nature and well-being, providing a diverse selection of artisanal coffee and healthy products, including vegan, gluten-free, and sugar-free options.
Outstanding spot for breakfast. Superb smiley service, outstanding food and great value. Their coffee is also excellent. So happy we stumbled upon this place. Yogurt bowl was fab, as was the Avocado (vegetable) toast, and the eggs Benedict. You can’t go wrong here.
Seamus M — Google review
Natural and gorgeous inner courtyard, great for a brunch away from the crowds of the busy street. Coffee was excellent. Pancakes were okay. I wouldn't say they are particularly memorable and the portion size is a bit small, but the price wasn't unreasonable for what you get. Service was prompt and friendly. I'd definitely come back and try a different dish. :)

Stumbled in to get some coffee and a bite to eat before exploring the city for the day and it did not disappoint. Very clean, bright and great interior with lovely staff and good coffee! The scrambled eggs were very tasty too. Our server Bruno was especially good, and gave me tips of good food and drink to have in the city.

Noshi Coffee in Porto was an absolute delight! The food was wonderful — fresh, & flavorful. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, making it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy a meal. The staff were friendly and attentive, adding to the overall great experience. Highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Porto — we’ll definitely be coming back!
Vejian R — Google review
From the outside, it looks like a simple, minimalist coffee shop, but inside there’s plenty of seating and it feels quite spacious. The breakfast options are satisfying — you could even say the portions are quite generous. At the far end of the long, narrow space, there’s a lovely tiny garden area with a glass roof.
Selin T — Google review
Noshi is a streetside eatery and cafe that caters to all food tastes - meat eaters, vegetarians and vegans. Vegetarians can expect a wide choice here. We ordered the Noshi oat pancakes and the Wild Eggs and both were decent portions and tasted yum. We also had the Immunity juice - delicious! Topped off our brunch with a matcha latte which was possible to order with soy, coconut or oat plant milks. This wasn’t the best, so maybe look at the other choices of warm drinks on offer. A nice place to enjoy the outdoor seating and watch the world go by under the shadow of the Igreja do Carmo.
Suchet M — Google review
The food is incredibly delicious and the staff is very friendly! In the back there is a lovely indoor garden with plants – the atmosphere is wonderful. Would absolutely recommend this place (especially if you’re vegan, they have vegan pastel de nata)

Cafetaria Terrárea is a charming spot in the heart of Matosinhos, Portugal. It's a unique blend of a stylish flower shop and a cozy café that serves delightful breakfast and brunch, along with two lunch dishes. The portions are just right, and the service is warm and welcoming. However, the only downside is its small space with too many tables. Despite this, it's an ideal place for vegetarians as it offers an array of vegetarian options.
What a beautiful hidden gem in Matosinhos... The place is gorgeous, you are surrounded by plants and a calm place. Perfect to disconnect from the noise around, and have some time off. We have coffee and a cheesecake. The cheesecake has a lot of fruit, so you won't feel the cheese as much. And the coffee was simply perfect. We live not that far and we found our new favourite coffee in town. Way better than the other speciality coffee alternatives
Darío G — Google review
The food looks absolutely amazing. But it was not. The fruit was not ripe and a bit hard and tasteless. The pancakes had a pleasant cloudy texture aswell as a subtle agave sweetness to them. But they were a bit dry. The cream is supposed to help moisture the pancakes but i felt it was not fresh enough. Maybe it would have been if the fruit was juicier. I had the coldpress coffee, it was fine. But its hard to impress a swede when it comes to coldpress😅 the service was nice and the interior of the terrarea was amazingly beautiful. Very cozy area!
Luthus S — Google review
Terrarea is part plant shop, part home decor haven, part café—and the combination works. I went for brunch and loved the food—fresh, flavorful, and served in a beautifully curated space filled with plants and earthy tones. It feels like you’re dining inside a greenhouse-meets-concept store. They don’t offer specialty coffee, but their fresh juices and brunch menu made up for it. A great stop if you’re near the beach and want something calming, green, and delicious. Definitely worth a visit for the ambiance alone.
Liliana S — Google review
I like to visit this place because of atmosphere but unfortunately they put old flowers in the bouquet. Which wasn’t cheap btw. When I came home and unpacked to put flowers into a vase, some started to lose their petals already, and after only a couple of days I had to throw away a half of the bouquet… Tried to reach them before publishing this here but they never responded. Very disappointing.
Daria G — Google review
Lovely setup for a coffee shop, fine details as interior design. I had a different vegan hot chocolate and a home made sourdough bread with pumpkin jam. It was a nice treat and definitely recommend them!
ANA B — Google review
This place brilliantly combines a cool coffee shop with a lush plant nursery. The food is delicious and wholesome, offering healthy choices. The high ceilings and the abundance of greenery create an incredibly pleasant and unique atmosphere. Be aware that seating is limited, so it can get busy around lunch. The good news is that the wait is part of the experience! While you wait for a table, you're free to wander through the beautiful nursery, getting a chance to browse or purchase some of their stunning plants and vases.
Jorge T — Google review
Very beautiful place, however it’s not really dog friendly, we were sat outside with our small and well behaved doggie. Everything was fast, but … flat white wasn’t flat whitening, it was horrible, pancakes IMHO weren’t fresh, they were luscious sweet and no pistachio taste at all . Everything is instagramable, but not tasty, disappointment

Coffee roasters
SO Coffee Roasters is a hidden gem in Porto, perfect for coffee enthusiasts. It's a small and cozy spot where you can enjoy various single origin coffees prepared in different ways like Chemex or V60. The cafe also offers delicious toasts and breakfast options. Located near the Aliados subway station, it's easily accessible.
This is an outstanding specialty coffee shop. The espresso was perfect and they had a great variety of coffees to choose from. I did not do a pour over but I’m sure they were delicious. I also grabbed a cortado. The banana muffin was also delicious with the coffee. I love the vibes inside the cafe and would recommend everyone who visits Porto to come here!
Andrew C — Google review
Hands down the best coffee in Porto! So glad I found this place, their flat whites and cinnamon bun were incredible! Also just generally good vibes and playlist - came a few times whilst visiting👌
Emily C — Google review
If you are looking for the absolute best coffee experience in Porto, look no further than SO Coffee Roasters. This place is more than just a cafe—it's an experience, blending a beautifully aesthetic environment with truly world-class products and service. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is simply stunning. It has a beautiful, calming, "esque" cafe vibe that makes you want to settle in for hours. The Best Coffee, Hands Down The coffee itself is phenomenal. As dedicated roasters, they know their beans, and the passion shows in every cup. But what truly sets them apart is their dedication to customization. They offer a fantastic bunch of milk options (oat, almond, soy, etc.), ensuring everyone can get their perfect drink. Whether you're ordering a meticulously crafted espresso or a specialty latte, it’s delicious every single time. Staff and Service The amazing staff truly elevates this place. They are welcoming, knowledgeable, and genuinely happy to help you navigate the menu. Their warmth and attentiveness create such a positive environment, making every visit a pleasure. Beyond the Brew: Treats and Eats While the coffee is the star, don't overlook the food. The pastries are truly the tastiest I've had in Porto—fresh, flaky, and indulgent. They also cater perfectly to a lunch crowd, offering great sandwiches and fresh smoothies. It’s the ideal place for a quick breakfast, a relaxed lunch, or an afternoon caffeine fix. Highly recommended! SO Coffee Roasters is a must-visit for any coffee lover passing through Porto.

Very London style coffee shop - sleek and minimal. Laptops only allowed upstairs - it’s very hot upstairs when the weather is hot. I had a wonderful matcha latte there which looked and tasted amazing. Mostly tourists and instagrammers. Cool but not the most welcoming - too cool for school vibes.

Great coffee and great vibe. Would be my local if I lived in Porto. Treats and toasties were really good too!

Nicolau Porto is a trendy and health-conscious eatery located in the Cedofeita neighborhood. The cafe features glass walls and hanging plants, creating a charming and inviting atmosphere. Known for its extensive brunch menu, Nicolau offers a variety of options including salads, bowls, burgers, tacos, pancakes, toasts, and desserts. For those who find it hard to choose, there's an option to order a brunch menu. The drinks menu includes a wide selection of cocktails.
A perfect place to have a cappuccino and mini breakfast. Attendants were all charming and efficient. We liked the window counter seats from where we could do people watching. It was lovely and convenient for travelers like us to have a coin laundry about 80 meters.
Yukari K — Google review
Nice and cosy atmosphere with trendy and tasteful things on the menu. The staff was less friendly due to how busy it was. The food was great, but it can be a little bit more and/or better decorated compared to other cafés we had breakfast at in the area. Taste wise this was definitely up there though.
Wietse — Google review
A few years ago I would say this was my favorite brunch place in porto, but this year it has lost the food quality for the many times I went there. Now it’s everything quick and on the clock and you can clearly notice the quality dropped for quantities. Still recommend the tacos. Nonetheless the service is always super kind!
Rafaela S — Google review
My weekend brunch at Nicolau Porto! 🤍 The French Toast was as good as its reputation, and the combination of Mimosas and Americano was perfect. 🥂 However, the Fruit Plate was a bit meager compared to the menu photo, and the Açaí Bowl was a little smaller than I expected. 😅 Despite that, the food was still good overall, and the staff was so friendly that it was a very pleasant experience!
Eric A — Google review
Great food, very nice menu whether you are having breakfast, brunch or having food later in the day. Eggs were perfect and coffee great! Service is a little slow unfortunately and that was the only let down. Had to wait and ask for cutlery, took quite a long time for someone to come and get an order but overall happy I visited, good atmosphere and fair on price!
Sasha B — Google review
The service, the atmosphere and the location are great. The food is not the best - definitely not the worst, but a bit tasteless. I would go there again, but only for drinks.
Katerina Z — Google review
Don’t bother coming here, it really was rubbish. The oat cappuccino was fine, the orange juice was nice! All goes down from here. The “spicy” shakshuka was inedible. It tasted like watered down tomato sauce with no seasoning and no spice at all. Just courgettes and onion floating in red water. The pancakes were covered in crispy onions so it’s all you could taste even after scraping them all off. They were given without maple syrup until we had to ask for it, and it took a long time to arrive. It took ages for a waiter to come over and take our order, but the food itself took about 5 minutes which means it’s probably not fresh.
Katie — Google review
When I first dined at Nicolau I thought I had found my favorite new place to enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner! The pancakes were delicious! Then I tried to "Dirty Sandwich" a Roast Beef on Focaccia Bread that was amazing! So good I went back three days later to have it again! Sadly the second sandwich was so disappointing I decided that I had to write a review sharing my experience with a photo of the second roast beef sandwich with the single, tiny, paper thin slice of roast beef. It was unbearable how little roast beef was on the sandwich. I can't recommend Nicolau, but who knows, maybe you will get lucky and have a great experience like I did my 1st time.

This was my favorite place to eat in Porto! Their pancakes are absolutely fantastic. Like, the best pancakes I’ve ever had. They have sweet and savory options, and the coffee is also great. We loved the food so much that we returned for breakfast again the next day. The atmosphere of the restaurant is so fun and well-decorated! Lots of natural light and seating availability for larger parties. The servers were very personable and were able to accommodate our party, which spoke Spanish and English but unfortunately very little Portuguese. The restaurant is only a short walk from the beach. You must try it if you’re in the area!

Awesome place to eat with a great vibe. Loved - Salmon, avocado poached egg and cream cheese. Loved - fresh squeezed orange juice. The portionn size is small. I ordered a 2nd juice. Ok - peanut butter and banana pancakes - peanut butter was too thick. Ask for extra water. Service and atmosphere was amazing. Visiting again soon.

Negra Cafe is an amazing spot in the heart of Matosinhos which I have been coming back to for years. The food is delicious and always of the best quality. I absolutely love the eggs florentine and the pancakes are to die for! The coffee is amazing - probably the only place where you can get good coffee other than the typical Portuguese espresso- the flat white is so good! The atmosphere is calm, chill but joyful. And finally the staff. They are a group of very attentive individuals who welcome you with a big smile (no exceptions) from the moment you walk in. If you’re lucky to meet Arcenio there, you’ve won. Always knowledgeable, always kind, always quick and spot on with any advice. So is you’re looking for a place to have brunch, lunch (definitely go for the salad!), afternoon snack, coffee and cake - come to Negra. You will not be disappointed.
Anna N — Google review
A fancy spot, with an interesting and original concept, a negra cafe where dark-skinned people work. Delicious, bright and unusual food, for slightly inflated prices, with pleasant and exotic waiters, as well as delicious coffee. Stylish interior and Latin American atmosphere. Recommended.

If you are looking for an amazing breakfast this is the place to go to. You have a varied menu, from ligjter to heavier options. Won't leave you indifferent. Highly recommended.

I cannot recommend Negra Café highly enough! From the moment you step in, the atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between modern chic and relaxed comfort — stylish décor, warm lighting, and a friendly, welcoming team make you feel immediately at ease. The brunch-menu here is exceptional: inventive yet comforting. Whether you’re going for their beautifully presented pancakes, the eggs Florentine, or a toasted creation with fresh fruit or avocado, each dish is clearly made with care and quality ingredients. The coffee is superb too — strong, smooth and well-balanced. On top of that, the service is excellent: attentive, friendly, and genuinely happy to make your experience special. If you find yourself in Matosinhos and looking for somewhere for breakfast, brunch or a leisurely lunch with great food, great vibe and genuine hospitality — Negra Café is absolutely the place. Seafood restaurant
Restaurant
Tito 2 is a popular restaurant in Porto known for its amazingly fresh fish, including sardines, seabass, sea bream, and turbot. The place is often crowded, so it's best to visit during lunch hours to avoid long waits. While the service may not be overly attentive due to the high demand, the staff are friendly. The food portions are generous and offer great value for money.
We started with the mussels and the grilled squid which were deliciously prepared. For the main, the staff were very helpful in picking the fish. We went with the Turbot which was roughly 40€ for the 1kg and came with a side of potatoes and cabbage. The house wine was also really cheap at 8€ for the bottle. The way the waiter carved the fish was very expert! A very enjoyable dinner!
Osvaldas V — Google review
We had a really nice lunch there, the sauce from the shrimps was fantastic. The shrimps however were a bit too hard and same with the squid, but overall delicious. The fish soup was a disappointment, tasted like they put some fish and tomato into caldo verde. They also forgot us when we asked for the bill and charged us for the water they forgot to bring so the service wasn’t perfect. Recommend for a lunch.
Vanessa — Google review
One of best dinners we’ve had, hands down. The fish was so fresh, caught a few hours earlier. Got to hand pick out fish and while waiting for it to be grilled on open flame outdoors, we had the mussels which were awesome. We had the sole, which they filleted tableside perfectly and had the potatoes, rice and veggies (cabbage) to top it all off. Wine was so cheap…this is a must visit restaurant, everything people around us got looked amazing as well.
Jeff H — Google review
We had a lot of food here. Love the garlic prawns the most. Turbo fish is good too. The food portion is huge and we cannot really finish all these food( for 7 pax)

It’s a late review, but this restaurant gives us an unforgettable meal, we have dinner here after touring around town. Everyone is friendly and welcoming to tourists. About the food is amazingly delicious, seafoods is fresh and huge size. That day was so good, we kept it in our memory as the best meal in Portugal, plan to visit again after my wife gave birth, we will take our child eat octopus and seafood boiled rice there.
Daud — Google review
Recommended by local, I walk in and give it a try for the very first time. I immediately know food will be fantastic when seafoods are freshly grilled outside the restaurant. I sat outdoor. Attentive serving crew ensure your comfort and satisfaction. Detailed explaining on the weight of the fish, even show me how big it is so I can visual it. Very helpful! Crew also help you to debone the fish. Their seafood are fresh and nicely grilled, they carry a variety of local wines too. Definitely will stop by again if I’m in Porto. Thank you for letting me experiencing the great Portuguese hospitality.

It was so good, we went twice. Recommend booking for weekend lunches or evenings, unless you get there right on opening for a table. Top notch seafood at good prices.

Squid and the grilled sole was good! Shrimps were good and fresh, but overcooked. Soup was not that great. Service was okay, the place was very busy.

Época Porto is a charming breakfast place in Porto with a clear Nordic influence in its interior decor. The café offers a short, seasonal menu prepared with great care using organic ingredients from local producers. It's known for high-quality food and can be a bit pricier than regular cafes. Despite its small size and long lines, it's worth the wait. The café is located in the vibrant Bonfim neighborhood and is committed to using organic, seasonal, and locally sustainable ingredients.
I visited Porto for just three days, and I ended up going to Epoca three times — that’s how much I loved it! This cozy little spot instantly makes you feel at home, with a calm minimalist decor, and plenty of natural light. The food is incredibly fresh, delicious, and full of amazing flavor. You can truly taste the difference high-quality ingredients make — everything is thoughtfully prepared with care and creativity. Their brunch options are especially memorable, and the coffee is fantastic. The staff are warm and friendly, which makes the whole experience even more enjoyable. A must-visit if you’re in Porto!

Such an amazing spot for brunch/lunch. We had some bread with cheese, fried egg, and the scrambled eggs. The scrambled eggs were some of the best we’ve had - ever. So creamy, so delicious: topped with Parmesan and lots and lots of chives. So good. The sourdough bread was also very good!

Firstly I should note that the scrambled eggs that made this place popular are no longer on the menu. So that was a bit of a disappointment. Instead we tried the eggs labneh and French toast which were both nice dishes. However the service was a bit slow and we had to ask multiple times for water so that’s one area that could be improved.

Came here for brunch after hearing good things and it did not disappoint. Staff was extremely friendly and service was quick and great. We got the Turkish eggs and they were the best eggs I’ve ever had. Drinks were great and the place was super cool inside too - not super expensive. Very reasonable

Beautiful breakfast!! Incredible coffee. The eggs were incredible but the pancakes were to die for!! So reasonably priced too! An absolute gem worth a visit when in Porto!

The Good: - A menu a little different from other brunch places - Their coffee is above average - The granola bowl is an absolute recommendation and added lime zest was a nice touch The Not So Good: - The omelette was bland had a rubbery texture and it looks nicer than it tastes

Unbelievable what welcomed me on my first day in Porto: Epoca was closed but Minot was open. Tomorrow morning it will be the other way around 🤭🤣 Minot as the extra french cuisine 😋

Taste-wise the best food experience by far that I had after a couple weeks traveling in Portugal as a vegetarian. Really flavorful. Especially recommend the eggs in purgatory and the cookie

Early, a charming café in Porto run by siblings Patricia and Emanuel Sousa, offers a delightful culinary experience crafted by chef Ines Peixoto. The cozy atmosphere and vintage decor create a welcoming ambiance, with a street-facing counter adding to the charm. While the menu changes weekly, staples like homemade granola, slow-fermented bread, and organic flour croissants are always available. When exploring Porto's city center, various downtown areas offer unique experiences.
Such an amazing experience! Went to both Early and Later (their evening menu) off of a Reddit recommendation, and it has been the food highlight of our trip so far. We loved how experimental the food was, both for their food and their drinks. Standouts would include their sweet potato paired with coffee flavors (a first for us!) and their tiramisu (the best we've ever had, coming from a tiramisu lover). Additionally, the wait staff were so helpful and friendly. Maeli served us for dinner and helped provide amazing recommendations. She answered questions about the food with attention and enthusiasm; her personal love and relation to the menu showed in her authentic and warm responses. Our brunch server was equally attentive and kind (sorry, but I do not recall his name!). The prices and portions felt very reasonable for what we were given, at least with us frequenting the LA and SoCal food scene. I do not know yet if this possible, but we would consider asking if they can cater for our wedding in two years, or at the least, heavily recommend it to our friends who will be travelling with us. Bonus: Their vinyl playlist is bomb.

Loved it here! Service was relaxed and friendly, the interior is gorgeous, it’s cool that you can watch the food being prepared in the open kitchen, the coffee is excellent and the food was incredible (don’t skip the salmon). I like the small plate concept and I found the portions more than generous. Prices were on a par with other places I visited in Porto, though there are cheaper options out there - but for travellers from the UK used to city prices, it was really good value. I wish I’d had longer in Porto because I would have loved to have come back here (next time!)

The space at Early is beautifully designed, bright, minimal, and with an open kitchen that naturally sets high expectations. Unfortunately the experience did not match the setting. We sampled the menu and tried around six to seven dishes, which gave a clear sense of both the kitchen consistency and service rythym where both were disappointing. Service felt disorganized and inattentive from the start, it took a long time to place an order, we had to call for attention several times and despite multiple staff members on the floor and behind the bar, no one seemed to take ownership of the tables. Even after being told “we’ll come soon” no one returned. At the end, rather than an apology, we were told that “because you were seated in the corner, we couldn’t attend to you properly,” which is an unacceptable excuse in any professional setting. The kitchen team appeared hardworking but overwhelmed. While the presentation of dishes was appealing, flavors were inconsistent and lacked refinement. The Piperrada(shashuka)missed depth and seasoning, the vegetable sides were uneven in texture, and the cheesecake felt heavy and poorly balanced. The menu seems ambitious but unfocused like trying too hard to be creative rather than truly flavorful. Even the coffee, though nicely presented, was mid at best. For a place of this style and pricing, one would expect a proper specialty coffee program with more depth and character. For nearly €70 for two, the overall value simply wasn’t there. Early is a beautiful concept, but at the moment, it feels more like a space designed to impress visually than one focused on taste and hospitality. With stronger kitchen direction, tighter service coordination, and genuine care for guests, it could become the great spot it aspires to be.

This small cafe in the outskirts of the city centre is the best we have found. We shared plates of fabulous sourdough bread, hummus and the dukkah with soft cheese. They were so perfectly presented and tasted so good. This place also has the best coffee we have had in Portugal and Spain. The service was top rate and our waiter was so nice. If you dont come out of your way or are not staying in the district you might not find the place, but is woth the effort.

I don’t understand any of the negative comments, because we had the best food experience ever. Everything that we ate was 10/10, very fresh, very unique. If you love veggies or more unique flavours this place is for you. Also, the banana bread was out of this world, verrrrry delicious and unusual. Stuff was also super friendly and the chefs very professional (its an open kitchen concept) 💌

😍Such a special place—I’m so glad I didn’t listen to the negative reviews. I’d been to Early a few times before, mostly just for coffee (which is always lovely in their beautiful atmosphere), but I’ll admit the menu sometimes confused or intimidated me, so I hadn’t tried the food. After hearing a friend rave about it, I finally decided to give breakfast at Early a try, and it was incredible. 🥰I especially want to shout out Duddley, who is such an angel—always welcoming with a warm smile and so helpful with all of our questions about the food. He truly makes Early an even better place. The food itself is unique, creative, and absolutely bursting with flavor. On our first visit, we had the Piperada (almost like a different twist on shakshuka) and the L’Otto, a beet-based dish paired with their house-made dukkah, which they told me is created from leftover milk—so thoughtful and inventive. Every bite was fresh and exciting. We loved it so much we went back the same week and tried La Bimba, which was just as creative and satisfying. I love their different take on food here—it’s such a refreshing, flavorful, and memorable dining experience. I’ll definitely be back soon to explore more of the menu.🙌🏼

Nestled in the charming coastal town of Matosinhos, Booínga - Coffee Roasters is a delightful e-commerce and coffee shop that offers an exceptional experience for coffee lovers. Just a stone's throw from the beach, this spot is perfect for enjoying their unique single-origin cold brews crafted on-site. The owner, who hails from Africa and has a deep passion for both surfing and coffee culture, chose the name Booínga to reflect his roots and connection to coffee cultivation.
Wow! This coffee shop isn’t just any ordinary coffee shop; it’s the Temple Of Coffee! The coffee beans are sourced from various grains, and everything is meticulously organized and clean. The barista here is not just a regular coffee maker; they’re like a sommelier, ready to guide you on a coffee tasting journey. This place is definitely a must-visit for coffee enthusiasts!

I don't drink coffee, but I went because my partner loves specialty coffee. The owner was unbelievably kind and offered to make me Panama cascara which is basically a tea infusion made from the shells of coffee beans. He assured me I would like it even though I dislike coffee. He was right! The cascara infusion was delicious and I enjoyed our visit immensely. The owner is a true artist with coffee and tea. We ended up chatting for a long time in the beautiful cafe.

I’d give six stars if I could. First and foremost, the coffee was incredible and made with passion. I stopped in right before the cafe was about to close, but Carlos so kindly made me a cup to enjoy there. He asked me a few questions about what I like and then made me something perfectly adjusted to my taste. I loved how others in the shop were chatting with him as if they were old friends and I felt included right away. Community is so underrated. Of course he has to-go cups, but what a waste because the coffee tastes that much better paired with the experience. His main business is roasting, not the cafe itself so get some beans while you’re there.

You will wait for your coffee but it is so worth it. Top 3 espresso shots I've had in Europe. If you're in to specialty coffee and you're in Porto, make the trek out here.
Brian M — Google review
Carlos understands coffee and community. His place is not built to be a "coffee shop" but rather he is roasting for his business of selling beans via website or commercial business. He opens his shop on Fridays only, and has one community table. This is not a place to camp out with a laptop and work, nor does he serve any food at all. This is 100% about coffee and conversation, and it is refreshing and relaxing. Thanks Carlos, for always being a great host! I am always thankful when a trip to Porto falls on a Friday and I can visit!

This is an amazing coffee shop that we came across when we were traveling in Portugal! The coffee shop owner, Carlos, is super friendly , and passionate and knowledgeable about coffee ! I have never went into a coffee shop and being asked what type of coffee I like before they start making the coffee I ordered! The coffee was amazing ! The coffee he recommended to us to bring back to Toronto is just exactly the type of coffee we like. This is definitely one of the highlights of our trip!!

Nestled in the charming Foz do Douro neighborhood, Cafeína stands out as a must-visit destination for food lovers seeking an exquisite blend of Portuguese and international cuisine. With its modern and stylish ambiance, this restaurant has become a staple in Porto's dining scene over the past two decades. The menu is a delightful journey through flavors, featuring standout dishes like grilled octopus paired with sweet potato puree and classic salted cod served with spinach and Hollandaise sauce.
What a fantastic meal! The restaurant is celebrating their 30 years anniversary this year and some dishes are from the original menu. All dishes we tried were fantastic. Very reasonably priced restaurant. Their tiger prawn is just wow! Also loved the beef carpaccio. All dishes were good size. Overall excellent experience.

I highly recommend. The atmosphere is very cosy and intimate. Excellent service and friendly staff. The food was good, but felt the portions lacking in size for the price. Overall a very pleasant experience and evening.

The food was incredible, everything what we ordered was delicious. We were advised to go there by our friends to celebrate the birthday. The waiters have been very friendly, attentive and helpful. The location is great too. However, the hostesses could have been friendlier and less curt, we felt rather unwelcomed and were rushed quite a lot at the end. We saw how some people who came at the same time as us were not rushed and stayed when we were asked to leave. It was quite obvious that the place has regulars who were treated differently, and it would have been better if restaurant was more impartial. It is such a shame as the restaurant’s location, waiters and food were superb, but I don’t we would go back.
G. S — Google review
The ambiance was pleasant, and they had an extensive wine menu but that is about it. The service was courteous, but not particularly attentive, we had to refill our wine glasses by ourselves even though the restaurant was not full. Out of the dishes we ordered, the best one was tiger prawn but it was mainly thanks to the quality of seafood they use, the prawns were a bit overcooked. The scallops were tender but nothing to rave about. The chocolate cake was nothing remarkable, the ice cream's flavour was indistinct, tasting mostly of sugar and nothing else. At this price point in Porto, I can't give more than 3 stars. Not a restaurant I'd return to.

Dining at this restaurant is far more than just having a meal – it is a complete experience of elegance, craftsmanship, and culinary artistry. From the very first moment, the sense of refinement is evident: the sophisticated ambiance, the beautifully set tables, and the impeccably trained staff who manage to strike the perfect balance between attentiveness, discretion, and expertise. The cuisine itself is a true celebration of flavors, textures, and aesthetics. Each dish is composed with remarkable precision, offering not only outstanding taste but also a visual feast. • Starters: The beef tartare with egg yolk was a masterpiece of simplicity and technique – perfectly seasoned, delicate in texture, and full of depth. The carpaccio, sliced paper-thin, melted effortlessly on the palate, enhanced by subtle accents of cheese and fresh garnish. The seafood and vegetable starters were equally impressive, showcasing both creativity and balance – each plate felt like a miniature work of art. • Main Course: The meat dish stood out as a highlight: perfectly cooked, tender, and accompanied by a rich, dark sauce that elevated it to another level. The vegetables were vibrant and full of flavor, while the layered potato side offered a wonderful interplay of crispiness and creaminess. This was classic French-inspired cuisine, reinterpreted with modern elegance. • Desserts: The grand finale was an array of sweets that reflected both tradition and innovation. From the refreshing sorbet to the beautifully composed tarts and the delicate crêpe served in a light vanilla sauce, every element was refined and thoughtful. Each dessert struck a careful balance of sweetness, texture, and lightness – a perfect ending to the menu. What truly sets this restaurant apart is not only the flawless execution but also the presentation of each dish: every plate arrived as a visual composition, proof that aesthetics and flavor can be seamlessly united. This was a dining experience that exceeded expectations on every level – a place where passion for food, respect for ingredients, and a deep understanding of hospitality come together in harmony.

I had higher expectations considering it’s a Michelin restaurant and has a lot of positive reviews. Positives: great location, nice atmosphere and restaurant design Negatives: rushed service, average food flavors - more specifically the mains - very disappointing cooking and combination, and unfortunately they don’t make you feel very welcome. I think it’s worth a try but would keep expectations low. Also, please remove the recommended tip from the bill, no need to bring this tipping culture 😷

Leitaria da Quinta do Paço is a well-established brand with 9 stores across mainland Portugal, dating back to its foundation in 1920. Initially focused on dairy products, it has expanded its offerings to include delicious cakes and eclairs with various toppings. The café is famous for serving coffee alongside their renowned eclairs filled with Chantilly and milk chocolate icing. The interior is adorned with vintage photographs from the 1920s, showcasing the historical popularity of their Chantilly.
This was recommended by a Portuguese friend. Over the moon that she mentioned it to us. Famous for its eclairs. These celebrity items include classic (chocolate), lemon, caramel and many other flavours. Most of them have soft icing on top, but there is one with a brittle topping. They sell other sweet things like cakes and Berliner (doughnuts) too. We got a menu (Brunch Guloso) which included a croissant filled with Chantilly cream, a sneclair, orange juice and a cafe espresso. The croissant is not like a french one, as it's more like a brioche rather than flaky pastry. We thought it might be odd with cream inside, but we loved it. The sneclair is a savoury eclair and it's was an outstanding invention. We had it with eggs and bacon. It was a light meal, which was exactly what we needed. Then we had 2 small eclairs (so we could try more flavours rather than having just 1 big one). We got a classic and passion fruit and mango. They were nice. It's pretty much like an original (i.e. French) eclair, but slightly wider. We liked them very much nonetheless. In all we spent €10,90 and think it was value for money. Paid by credit card. Plenty of seating inside and outside just before 1.45pm on a Tuesday in September. Definitely worth a visit for tourists! They have other outposts if you can't make it over here. Great place to learn a bit about Porto history and the waiters are happy to talk about it. Food was good, coffee was also good. You can go with a group since they have a big room and can accommodate groups. The most funny part was the paper placemat. You need to go and check it out to understand. 😅 I highly recommend if you are visiting Porto to have a coffee and/or try “francesinha”.

Original breakfast place that offers a range of tasty breakfasts. The flavours all fit together, only the pre-made guacamole is not really that enjoyable and rather sour. Service was very kind and nice (:
Hej — Google review
The place is visually charming, full of personality and style, very “Instagrammable.” The staff were also friendly and cheerful. Aside from that, though: - Prices are definitely high for the quality and size of the portions. The mushroom sandwich was small, under-seasoned, and almost flavorless. The house iced tea and lemonade glasses were filled about 50% with ice, 25% with water, and 25% with tea/lemonade. Bland and not enough quantity. - The indoor tables are topped with smooth ceramic tiles. Stylish, sure, but everything you set down on them (plates, glasses, cutlery) slides around ridiculously. It’s impossible to cut something without it moving or nearly falling off. Feels like a prank. - The “white chocolate” on the white chocolate & berry pancakes tasted only of butter, not sweet, not remotely like white chocolate. Moreover there wasn’t enough to spread over more than half the pancakes. The berries consisted of literally three blueberries thrown on the plate, plus two wilted strawberries that didn’t taste fresh at all. At an average of over €18 per person, I don’t think it’s worth it. I wouldn’t go back.

Cute decor inside but unfortunately is an overrated tik tok spot. Service was very friendly and tentative - no fault there. Food was okay, no seasoning or flavor, left me a little disappointed. Although did provide a large quantity of smoked salmon. Menu says fresh orange juice but tasted like cheap bottle juice.

Absolutely loved iiitt 🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻 Everything was genuinely perfect — the food, the vibe, the service. But I do have to wonder… were they being ironic when they handed me a butter knife and no placemat? 😅🫣 The whole concept celebrates being lazy, but trying to cut bread or waffles on those tiled tables with a butter knife had me fighting for my life to keep the plate from sliding off 😭😂 Still, 10/10 would recommend — it’s all part of the charm!

Why a 4? Because I have a dog and they are not allowed inside! This is probably one of the two cafes in the area that won't allow dogs and that's really sad, since my dog goes with me everywhere. Like... Everywhere. Now to the food and service! We ordered sunny side up pancakes and a salmon bagel and they were good, but... Really good. Perfect taste, fresh ingredients and prepared at the moment. The presentation matches the taste so they completely nailed the concept. About the service, they were really good at it, they immediately cleaned the broken glass that was there, they smiled all the time, they spoke several languages (we heard them with other tables) and they were friendly all the time. Since I have a sweet tooth I ordered a pastéis de nata. Veredicto: one of the best I had so far in the city. Just out of the oven, crunchy, warm and perfect taste. You MUST have one! Or two.

This is my absolute favorite bakery. Everything I get is so delicious. I can’t say it’s the most affordable place but it’s definitely well worth it. Especially the carrot cake is incredible. I would get it every single day if it fit my budget just a bit more. 10/10
Müge Ö — Google review
Recommend the bakery, not so much the cafe. If you want to eat there, do not make the mistake of ordering from the cafe menu they give you! (Limited options, cold and unappealing pastries). Instead, take a picture of the pastry you want from the bakery and show it to the waiter. I didn’t realize they had this option until I overheard a staff member telling another customer :(
Edlyn P — Google review
Bakery with many options! We ordered a variety of the pastries to eat in. Weirdly none of the savoury pastries are heated up, so everything was cold and honestly not very good. The carrot / ginger cake and chocolate cake were the best things we got. Might be better to order as a takeaway to heat up at home.
KDD — Google review
unfortunately highly would not recommend the mango smoothie. it was 4.40€, but it was extremely bland and did not have any milk or cream (isn’t that what a smoothie means?). it tasted like a little bit of mango and a lot of water. pastel de nata was just ok, can get better elsewhere
Aly — Google review
Really good place. It is busy all the time... so may you have to wait a bit, but it's worthy. You have to try éclair there. I love it. Prices are reasonable
Nadia D — Google review
Friendly staff and nice terrace, the only con was that the pastries were all cold when the salty ones that we chose were supposed to be at least quite warm
Mario M — Google review
All we ate were very delicious. Especially carrot cake and kish with mushrooms. Staff were very smiling face and helpful. I recommend there

One of the best coffees in Porto thus far. Purchased a chourico bread, cod cake, and carrot cake. All great The carrot cake is highly recommended. Location was busy, though service was excellent. Right around the corner from Livaria Lello and Lion fountain.

Head to Mercado Municipal de Matosinhos for an authentic and bustling market experience. Located near Leca River estuary and Portos seaport, this market remains untouched by tourism, offering a genuine glimpse into local culture. The bright, white building resembles an upturned cowrie shell and is flooded with natural light. Local women bring trays of fresh fish straight from the docks across the river, alongside livestock like rabbits, ducks, and chickens.
Excellent place to eat typical food. Also, great variety of fruit and veggies. For fish lovers, it’s the perfect place. Small, simple and culturally interesting to visit.
Miriam R — Google review
Lovely market. First time that I have seen live chickens and pigeons for sale. Mainly fish and fruit / veg stalls. You can buy your fish and then take it to a stall that will cook it for you!
MADDOGLEP — Google review
Really enjoyed this market. You can buy what you want from the fisher men and they'll cook in the restaurant. It's recommend not to many small things as the restaurant will charge per set. Only 8 euro Tesla from Porto centre.
Edward B — Google review
Nice ambience, good service and pricing is clear. Better to be here around 11h cause restaurants only open at 12. We picked a random restaurant and the food is delicious.
Nhu N — Google review
Great place to buy fresh fish. When we went there around noon many sellers closed their shops. There are many restaurants in this building which serves freshly caught fish.
Jack C — Google review
It is a great place to get fresh fish, vegetables, fruits. It also has restaurants where you can have cooked fish and other tasty dishes.
Adrian C — Google review
Bought sardines from the market, with help from the waiter, took it to the restaurant and they cooked them Add oysters sparkling wine, and side dishes. Wonderful lunch. The onsite info officer was very informative about the town, history and influential architects. Worth exploring.

Nice place to be ! Eat where the inhabitants eat . Seafood at top quality . Unique value chain system: you choose a fish , they bring it to one of the restaurants, where it will be prepared , cooked and served to you . PQR absolutely fair . And Ricardo is a great entertainer. And they are always busy. Reservation is required. Worth an experience! And : it's a 40 min. Bus ride from Porto centre for just 2,50 € !

Eleven Lab Concept is a unique store that sells designer fashion brands and also functions as a cafe serving continuous brunch every day. There is no specific menu; it's up to you to create your own brunch by choosing from options such as salads, sandwiches, hamburgers, eggs, pancakes, and natural juices. This restaurant offers healthy food options, fresh juices, and breakfasts that resemble complete lunches.
I had the burrata which tasted great! The sauce on it was very flavourful and it all paired nicely with the bread. You can easily split it between 3 people as a starter. The eggs benedict were also great! Everything was a good as you would want it to be. Nice sauce flavour, big portions, balanced flavours, nicely cooked eggs, crispy bread etc. The only downside is the bacon quality. It is definitely not one of the best I have had.
Sérgio S — Google review
so sad we did not try brunch, next time we visit Porto will definitely go for food! nice seating outside, good food choices and we were really jealous when we saw other tables eating - looked so delicious! however, mimosas and americano was nice, waitresses helpful.

A lovely river front cafe with terrace seating. A very enjoyable place to stop on a long walk along the river/seafront. Highly recommend the pancakes!
Jonny M — Google review
What a great experience we had here. We decided to have brunch last Sunday to enjoy the sunny day. The place was crowded and there was a long line for tables outside. We got one inside, by the entrance. There was no privacy, but the food was worth it. For my great surprise, they offered a Vegan Combo with lots of savory and sweet options. My husband ordered egg’s Benedict. Everything was delicious and we will return surely.
Viviane M — Google review
Great location near the river, not overcrowded. We liked the food and fast service. Highly recommend for a nice brunch. Great coffee!
Anna B — Google review
This was the best and biggest eggs Benedict I ever had. We got served by Stevie (probably spelt it wrong) the guy was the kindest and modest person to serve you. And the drinks and the late were to perfection. I highly recommend this place for breakfast. The only thing could be better is if they opened earlier. So I could eat faster there once I wake up in Porto 😄
Kostas L — Google review
Stopped for a coffee whilst walking to Foz. The coffee claims to be Nespresso, it doesn’t taste good. I ordered a flat white, but it resembled more a latte but with an inconsistent foam. I didn’t eat, food looked reasonable. Decor, location, and atmosphere are all fine.

Museu d'Avó is a charming and nostalgic space that exudes an old-school vibe with its antique decor reminiscent of your grandmother's house. The ambiance is enhanced by the use of candles and the allowance of smoking indoors. While it may not strictly adhere to traditional tapas, it offers a unique concept by serving tapa-sized portions of various iconic Portuguese dishes, which has garnered appreciation from both tourists and locals alike.
Best restaurant in Porto. I’m so happy. The food was top notch. The atmosphere of the restaurant is super cool and cozy and feels like a grandmas home . FASTEST SERVICE EVER !!! FOOD SO DELICIOUS! IT YOU ARE IN PORTO - you cannot miss this place !!! Armando is a great server ! Super kind and so helpful . Nuno too.. music is amazing too.
Claudine C — Google review
The atmosphere inside is very magic. No light, just candles on each table. The dish are good and you have a lot of choice, lot of plates both of meat and fish. The service is top, waiter are kind, friendly and fast. Finally, a glass of Porto wine is the best conclusion. Place suggested. Top for quality/price of the plates. Just to remember you that they accept only cash. No card
Giovanni S — Google review
One of the best restaurants I tried during my trip to Portugal. It is open late (1:45 am) and the hospitality and food are incredible. We tried a lot of different things as it was easy to share (tapas style). My favorites were the salad with nuts, the baked cod, clams, shishito peppers, and vegetable soup but we also tried the shrimp with garlic, calamari and mango mousse - all very good! There were a good amount of vegetarian options but it is a seafood lovers place. The ambience is very cool with a variety of antique objects in cabinets, on the walls and ceiling. Price-point was very good too. I highly recommend!
Sarah G — Google review
Best experience I had in the town, traditional and tasty food, ideal to share with friends, family or in my case with my guests from the Netherlands. This way they could taste different flavored from our amazing cuisine. Extra bonus the space 🥰 lovely cozy decoration… a bit back on the time experience 😋

I have 10 beautiful friends that I wanted to spend a beautiful evening with in Porto at a local, dainty, rustic venue. I found this place and it went above and beyond. I called one day in advance for a table for 10, and the man that answered the phone was friendly and quick to reserve a table. As tourists sometimes it feels intimidating at a local restaurant.. this place from booking to leaving was the complete opposite. Thank you so much for having us. As people that are reuniting from 10 different countries, all in one place, with cheap, delicious wine and food, I’m sure all of us will be back in every lifetime. 🤍🤍🤍 thank you so much again, we’ll be back 🤍
TPG D — Google review
Seriously, I’m speechless. Not only the were one of the few restaurants open so late, the food was incredible. Not just high quality ingredients and fresh, but also delicious and healthy. From mushrooms, vegetables soup, prawns, fresh bread to non-alcoholic beer. The only negative thing for me was that the second dish I was served was in the exactly similar plate as first dish, but this time 1000 degree as straight out of the oven… My friend, when you put it at the corner of the table, I’m going to use my hand to move it closer to me… and my friend, I’m not sitting at the table with oven gloves on, so yes, it’s going to burn my fingers🔥 But food so good, I forgot about it the pain immediately. FYI, they don’t accept cash. Prices are very affordable.
Reza J — Google review
The place is really nice and quite charming. It’s small and cozy, so I definitely recommend booking in advance. The atmosphere is intimate and romantic, perfect for a quiet dinner. The food was good — portions are very small, but that’s actually nice because you can try more dishes. Prices are fairly reasonable overall. A lovely spot for a relaxed evening.

Discovered this little gem across the road from the main promenade. We were hungry couldn't really see much on the prom but a short walk and you find Wilson's. Highly recommend.....
Mark F — Google review
I'm coming back soon for more and you should too! I will start by saying that Wilson is perfectly located, 2 minutes walking from the beach and with its windows is silent enough to enjoy a good moment. About the food I had the tomato toast with presunto and cheese. De-li-cious. I was pleasantly surprised about it since the presentation was not that appalling. The pesto tastes magnificent and the cheese is greasy, an unusual and pleasant surprise. I think at least with this dish they need to improve the presentation to make it a 10/10 I will come back because I focus more on flavours than visuals so for me I'll get more things from the menu! Considering other options around Wilson just became my favourite in the area. PS: your dog is only allowed in the outdoor area, so be mindful.
