The Free Bird is a cozy little spot that can only accommodate a few customers at a time. It's known for its fantastic smoothies, coffee drinks, and other treats like bars and bagels. The cafe prides itself on offering organic options, making it an ideal choice for health-conscious patrons. In addition to beverages, they also serve homemade chai tea and have an organic espresso bar.
A superb local find with every cup made to order. Delicious pastries too! A perfect spot to hit up before you drive over to the Nevada side of heavenly as you drink, eat, and keep warm in your car as this is definitely a pick up your order and go type of spot.

The best of SLT! Orange cranberry muffin & a Cocoa Bliss to start Saturday right! Local’s choice, always great service and atmosphere! Get a bagel with the house grown/made herb cream cheese! 💕 🥯 ☕️ 🪴

They were SO nice! House-made Lavender & Rose syrups go so hard. Cute little coffee shop right next to the red hut if you want breakfast too. Barista’s were wonderfully friendly, would 1000% recommend going here for coffee or light breakfast.

Smallest coffee place I've ever been but, big in charm and personality. Everytime I come to So. Lake Tahoe I love to visit this place. Staff are welcoming, friendly and always make me feel good about being there. You can also enjoy a morning walk as you sip your coffee at the trail behind Free Bird. The dirty chai, extra spicy is fantastic!

Fantastic little place with delicious bagels, muffins and coffee. Very friendly owner who makes sure your coffee is just the way you like it. Parking in front and back. Don’t miss this little gem!

Cuppa Tahoe is a unique coffee shop in South Lake Tahoe that offers a blend of elegance and comfort. It features a bookstore, community workspace, and cafe all in one. The space boasts sleek furnishings, artisan bookshelves, and cozy reading nooks. For just three dollars an hour, visitors can take advantage of the professional amenities available in the casual co-working section.
Cuppa Coffee is easily one of the cutest coffee shops I’ve ever been to — tucked inside a bookstore, it’s got an incredibly charming and welcoming vibe. The interior decor is adorable and picture-perfect; I could honestly spend all day here just soaking in the aesthetic and snapping photos. The heart of this place, though, is the lovely team of women running the show. They’re warm, humble, and truly care about each customer. It’s been a long time since I’ve been to a coffee shop where the staff takes a genuine moment to ask about your day — that kind of personal touch is rare and so appreciated. As for the coffee — it’s outstanding. They offer a great variety of flavors, with the brown sugar latte and strawberry latte being my personal favorites. My husband enjoyed the drip coffee, which was smooth and full-bodied. We also tried the avocado toast and the almond peanut butter banana toast — both delicious. The croissant and chocolate muffin were okay, but I’ve definitely had better elsewhere. One thing to keep in mind: the wait can be long. It’s a popular spot (and for good reason), but if you’re in a rush or hoping to grab a quick coffee to-go, this might not be your best bet. On our visit, it took about 25 minutes to get our order. A few extra hands in the kitchen could really help speed things up. That said, I would absolutely come back for the coffee and the atmosphere. If I’m ever in town again, Cuppa Coffee will be one of my first stops

Cuppa Tahoe is one of the coolest coffee shops I’ve been to. It offers a mix of indoor and outdoor seating, with funky little corners perfect for reading, working, or just hanging out. The vibe is relaxed and creative, with people on laptops, flipping through books, or chatting quietly. The coffee is excellent, and the pastries were surprisingly good. It’s definitely a hidden gem in South Lake Tahoe—highly recommend stopping by.
Andrea H — Google review
i would give cuppa tahoe 25 stars out of 5 if i could. everything about this gem of a bookstore, coffee shop, and co-working space is above and beyond. the staff is friendly and knowledgable, cheerful and warm. their homemade pumpkin spice blend with the excellent chai was the best i've ever had and i was able to find creative one of a kind gifts. the co-working space is unmatched and they have a fantastic process for signing in and out, getting drinks delivered, etc. i would literally fly back to tahoe from my home in portland, Or just to return to cuppa tahoe. don't miss your chance to visit this gem!

One of my favorite coffee shops I have ever been to! You walk in and you are instantly amazed by the books/reading areas, smell of coffee, the beautiful atmosphere and everything they sell! I love how ecofriendly they are with their innovative cups and to go utensils! I wish there were mote places like this in other cities!

Cuppa Tahoe is more than just a coffee shop—it’s an experience! The cozy seating and warm vibe make it a perfect spot to relax, and the shelves of books add a unique charm for readers who love to sip and read. Their coffee is delicious, and the staff is always friendly. Whether you’re working, catching up with friends, or getting lost in a good book, this place is a gem in Tahoe!
Saurabh S — Google review
Every time I visit Tahoe, I always make a trip to this coffee shop. The shop sells books and local art alongside their delicious drinks. There’s also a bookshelf where you can pick out books and read while you enjoy a coffee or tea. Today, it started snowing and everyone and their mother seemed to be in line here for a hot beverage and a warm space to watch the snow. Despite the sudden rush, everyone working remained positive. They communicated wait times to people coming in and were altogether lovely. The experience here is worth the wait on the days it does get busy. It’s such a great little shop!
Lizzy L — Google review
Loved my visit!! Cuppa is a vibrant, multi-purpose bookstore, coffee shop, and attached co-working space. I could tell by the layout that there is such an intentionality behind every square inch in an effort to provide a cozy, yet accessible space. I appreciate how creative they were with their book displays and utilizing every inch for either seating or their well-curated book selection. The staff were super nice and welcoming. Highly recommend!

Outstanding cafe. Excellent smooth cortado, nice food. I had a figgy Brie toast with fresh arugula and an edible violet. The place is full of books and gifty stuff with lots of nooks and corners to sit comfortably, in addition to a coworking station and a conference room! But most remarkable is the super positive and friendly staff.

Ernie's Coffee Shop is a charming cabin-like establishment in South Lake Tahoe that has been serving locals and visitors since 1968. This family-run diner offers a diverse menu featuring traditional breakfast and lunch dishes, as well as gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options. The portions are generous, with pancakes that are larger than life and plates filled with classic fixings. In addition to their delicious food, Ernie's prides itself on its friendly service and warm atmosphere.
Was recommended this place by a local when I asked for the best cafe for breakfast with gluten free options. I was so stoked to be able to FINALLY have French toast again because they have the gluten free option. Their menu was very diverse with an amazing selection. Bathroom was clean and all of the staff were exceptionally welcoming. I 10 out of 10 recommend this place. Especially if you have a gluten intolerance. They even had vegan options as well. Can’t wait to come back!

Went for breakfast with family. There was a 10 minute wait. I got the chicken fried steak which was pretty good. The house potatoes lacked salt for my taste. I got the biscuit instead of bread and its texture was like a cake than the flaky. We also got a single pancake which was nice. My wife got the Tahoe scramble which was cheesy and nice. Overall a nice place with fast service and ample parking right outside.
Binit B — Google review
The diner is cute. They boast a special roasted coffee that is specially blended for them by a local coffee shop. It was OK. Nothing special. The same could be said for their food. It was basic and bland. Reminded me of food I can make at home. The Belgian waffle was probably the best thing I had but the syrup could have been better. As a visitor to the area I was looking for a memorable dining experience. This place missed the mark.

I have been in the restaurant industry for 10 years and can’t tell you how impressive Ernie’s is. We sat at the bar and the kitchen and counter area were so clean. The stainless steel was spotless and everything had its place because every team member knew exactly what to do. Their team was amazing and worked so well together. I don’t think we ever saw them stop moving. The food was amazing as well. Classic breakfast options that were executed perfectly with quick service. If we visit Tahoe again, we will be back!

Ernie’s is a solid restaurant! It’s one of my fav spots for meeting up w friends for brunch😊. As a South Lake local of 12 years, I always appreciate a consistent restaurant- they deliver on delicious food (I often get the Judy’s Veggie Omelete pictured here). The owner is an awesome human. And the staff is very responsive. I’d highly recommend! I also really like their oat chai.. yum!😋

Let me tell you something....this was our last breakfast spot in Lake Tahoe for a trip and it was the best brunch by far. The brunch burger had me speechless with how juicy and delicious it was and the egg was the perfect touch. Hot apple cider was warm and cozy. My husband's loco Moco was great as well. Yummy filling food, great vibes and service. Would definitely eat here again the next time we visit Tahoe.
M P — Google review
This breakfast spot offers an impressive selection of options, but it tends to be quite crowded. If you’re planning a large party, be prepared for a wait of 15 to 30 minutes for a table. However, if you’re dining for two, you’ll likely be seated much faster. The service was prompt and friendly, making it a highly recommended choice.

Off The Hook Sushi is a bustling spot with sleek decor, offering a huge menu featuring sashimi, cooked appetizers, and over 40 unique sushi rolls. It's a favorite in town for casual bites and drinks, with many options priced at less than $15. On weekdays, they offer an impressive happy-hour selection of sushi rolls starting from $4.50. The restaurant also features drink and appetizer specials during this time.
This place is a must when you’re in South Lake. Food is incredible, staff is so friendly and welcoming. You can even check wait times online in real time and if it’s busy, get on the waiting list. We had a great time! Thank you!

It was busy when we came in but we were seated pretty quickly which was nice. We also came in just in time for Happy Hour which was a pretty good menu! Our food was brought out fairly quickly after placing the orders and our waitress was nice. Everything from our appetizers, to our sushi rolls, to my parent’s salmon plates was delicious! Overall a really great experience! I see why they’re voted the best sushi (: ( The 1st picture was the Fire in the Sky; 2nd picture was Red Dragon with Mac Daddy behind it (the bigger rolls). )

Absolutely delightful! Every bite was perfection, and the dessert was super delicious!! We ordered the California Roll, Sugar Mama, and Rainbow roll, we couldn't resist eating before taking a pic. Thank you!!!

So yummy! We sat in Tamara’s section both times we came and she was wonderful. We don’t run up a big tab but she was still so nice and attentive. Fish was great! Would definitely recommend.

We had a great time. My husband and I ate here for the first time and were blown away by the service. Everyone was incredibly helpful - it felt like family. The dishes are unique and filling as well. Definitely get the sake and definitely go during happy hour.
Andree B — Google review
I've been coming to off the hook for about 15 years now and I don't know why I haven't written a review sooner. I not longer live in town, but still eat here several times a year because it's my favorite sushi hands down. The addition of Macadamia nuts and herbs to the rolls adds something unique that I'm now always looking for when I visit other sushi restaurants. It can be a little busy during Happy Hour, but it's worth the wait!
Sarah I — Google review
Food, delicious, service excellent, ambience, fun, can't go wrong choosing Off The Hook to go to sushi. Absolutely love this place. Has fresh yummy fish. My favorite roll is the sugar mama and the royal flush. But honestly anything you order you can't go wrong. Highly recommend. Checking it out anytime you're in Tahoe
Rachel M — Google review
My partner and I showed up right at the opening and there were a few tables lined up via reservations on Sunday night. The teapot is impossible not to spill and I encourage the management to replace them if possible. That aside, my partner had a nut allergy so with the exception at the end of the night, we tried to avoid the multiple dishes that probably make this sushi unique to the other spots in South Tahoe. Altogether we had The Joker, Funky Roll Medina, and Bodhi rolls in our first round of eating. These rolls had 8 maki per order and were no frills. At risk of angering the order, I thought they were kinda samish. My partner thought that Funky Roll Medina's spicy sauce was surprisingly vinegary but they drink cholula daily. Still, vegans should rejoice as the Bodhi is a successful roll that allows you to eat veggies and tofu while looking relatively normal. The menu really shined when I got one more roll afterwards. The High Roller shows how the Macadamia nuts support the dish in both texture and flavor. It's a shame we couldn't order more of these types (of which there are 10 different rolls that use macadamia) but I'll refrain from kissing my partner for a few hours the next time I'm here.

Super cute coffee and breakfast place! When we got there the staff was very friendly and helpful with picking your order. You do pick what you want at the counter and pay for it before you go sit down. We had the ham and cheese omelet and the crepes - super delicious! It was our first time in Lake Tahoe and our waitress gave us great recommendations of where to go and eat dinner. Can’t wait to come back again!

I have a veggie wrap (it wasn't on their menu) pancakes looked delicious. I had a Chai Latte, that was tasty! Hard working staff both front and back house. The place is small though and the average party seemed to be 2-4 people. Not very Fancy, they used disposable utensils. Green sauce is delicious (spicy). Order at the counter and then wait for a table to be free- this was not my favorite aspect but it's a cute place and the food was cool.
Jaquelene M — Google review
Must visit for coffee, at least! We were here on a heavy snow day. They have parking space. Only indoor seating, the seating is limited. Good service, the manager makes sure that he gives you good recommendations according to your likes and dislikes. I got salted caramel latte with an extra espresso shot - i enjoyed it and definitely recommend it. The mocha was like any other mocha but the coffee in itself was very good. They have a lot of food options too with some interesting finds. A lot of fusion food to order from. I tried their Kimchi hoagie - it comes with egg, potatoes and kimchi - loved the combination and the bread was really good. The panini was decent, try it with their in-house green sauce, that makes it tastier. Overall, it is a little expensive but totally worth visiting.
Gau'tam S — Google review
Hidden gem in South Lake Tahoe. If we could give more than 5 Stars we would! From the beautiful hostess, to the attentive waitress and the incredible chefs, a superb establishment! We had a delicious breakfast there on Saturday, October 12th. The Chilaquiles were incredible. The chef knows his stuff. Full of flavor, crispy and just the right amount of spice. Absolutely incredible! My husband said they were the best he's had, besides my mama's that is. We also tried the sweet delicious Rum French Toast that was heavenly. Made with pound cake slices for a moist texture without being soggy. Filling & satisfying. We shared it, and still couldn't finish it. Tasted just as good the next day, I'm happy to say. I had The Cowgirl Hoagie which is made with turkey sausage, bacon, cheese, ham and a fried egg. Genius! All melted together and full of flavor, makes one amazing breakfast sandwich. Must try. All in all, A Cup of Cherries is a must try in South Lake Tahoe. It closes at 2:00 pm, giving you plenty of time for a late breakfast or brunch.

European, Asian, and Mexican fusion. An impressive claim - the dishes really work! Try the Chile Relleno plate, the Singapore delight, or the Protein Daikon roll - eclectic combinations were perfectly cooked and tasty! Traditional breakfasts and crepes are also delicious. Kid friendly. Staff were super nice and helpful. Almost forgot that homemade habanero sauce - wow!

Amazing coffee, mimosas and food! Stopped in 3 different times on our vacation. Parking is tight so we opted to walk or use the Lime scooters around town to stop by. Staff is very friendly and the art work is beautiful! Would highly recommend.

This small restaurant had some great breakfast food with good coffee. The Nutella crepes were good, of course but other more healthy options like the protein roll were also well done. Something for pretty much everyone on the menu.

This place is absolutely AMAZING! If you are in the area this is where you have to go! The service is just awesome. Everyone is so nice and friendly and takes the to.e to talk and connect with you. Their coffee menu is to die for. And there menu, it was an I teresting mix of food options. But, I must tell you both of our meals were fabulous! Next time I make it to tahoe we are going their again. I took a few pictures. Not enough. You will see a picture of my breakfast. It was their chilli relleno breakfast special, it was absolutely amazing! My boyfriend got their banana pancakes with banana and coconut shavings and pecans and an icing of sorts drizzled on top with a side of bacon for his breakfast. Those pancakes were delicious! I also ordered the Strawberry fields coffee and my boyfriend ordered the Butterbeer. Overall fabulous. I would recommend this place to anyone! Revive Coffee at Lakeview Social is a charming woodsy café located in a picturesque log cabin setting, just a short walk from the beach. The cozy interior features a stone fireplace and a handcrafted coffee bar made from wood milled in Glenbrook during the 1920s. In addition to specialty coffees, they offer an array of pastries, paninis, small plates, desserts, local wines, and craft beers.
Stands out from other coffee shops. They have unique selections and as odd as some might sound, they are delicious. They have oat and almond milk. You can add extra espresso shots. An indoor and outdoor fireplace seating. We had the cardamom rose latte & blackberry mocha. Service very pleasant.

It's a very cozy coffee shop! Went here on a snowy afternoon. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The service is good. They have a variety of options for coffee. We went ahead with the servers recommendations and got the Maple sage coffee, cardamom rose coffee. I definitely liked the Maple sage combination. The cardamom overpowered rose but the flavor was good - soothing and warm during winters. We also got the lemon blueberry mascarpone cake - it was above and beyond! Overall it was a good experience.

Stumbled on this great little gem today. My niece and I wanted coffee and brunch. We parked right by this spot. We were headed to my niece favorite spot. I asked about the cafe in front of us. She was on crutches. I really didn't want her to walk that far. We walked over to check out the menu. We ordered and checked out the seating options. Omg sitting in what a local author called his office. Beautiful park like sitting area.

Really cozy place. The barista was super nice and the homemade English muffin was really large and filling! Good coffee, much better than we expected for the area (but not as unique or outstanding as specialty coffee - from Bay Area/etc).

Breathtaking views right across the street at Lakeview Commons; excellent pastry; the $5 nitro iced coffee was average; my customer service experience was lacking, which is different from what everyone else said. It’s a trendy and creative little spot, albeit a bit pricy, and I’ll definitely be back to try new items on the menu.

Amazing atmosphere with live music and good beer. Tasty steak burger. The Rose cardamom latte was okay.

I loved that this coffee shop had a variety of artisan pastries, variety of grab and go beverages (some quite unique) and a great sized menu of food options. The coffee was great, and there is a full wine bar! The best part is the back yard/ lounge area to enjoy the outdoors among trees in shade.

Located near the Heavenly ski area, Driftwood Cafe is a popular family-friendly eatery offering a diverse menu for breakfast and lunch. The cafe serves locally roasted coffee, homemade soups, and generous portions of homestyle breakfast items such as buttermilk pancakes, waffles, biscuits and gravy, eggs benedict, Huevos Rancheros, Breakfast Burritos and Sandwiches.
I enjoyed this place. Not too long of await for breakfast on a busy holiday weekend. Plenty of seating indoor and out. Rosaria, our waitress was nice. Got the veggie burrito no eggs and French toast full stack with blueberries. Both were filing and tasty. Nice higher end diner style place.

Stopped by for lunch. One of the more affordable options in the area. The club sandwich was tasty and filling and I liked their options for choice of side. Outdoor area was dog friendly and the wait staff brought over water for the doggy too. Want to come back and try the breakfast options next time

Great vibe. Classic American breakfast with a lot of style. Simple, affordable and with overall good food. I loved the mocha and eggs Benedict combo. My wife didn’t like French toast that much, more like dry bread and just a bit with sugar. Not the best. But overall, great experience and strongly recommend the eggs Benedict. Parking lot across the street. We arrived relatively early on a Sunday (8am), no waiting time. Good service.
Ruam P — Google review
Today myself and my family visited Driftwood Cafe after hearing so many great recommendations, and overall, it was a good experience worth trying out. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the staff were friendly, even during a busy brunch rush. My wife and kids ordered the steak and eggs, and the steak was cooked beautifully and seasoned just right. The eggs were fluffy and tasty. I ordered the French toast, which was thick, soft, and had just the right amount of sweetness without being overly rich. I were especially curious about a the meal called “Ugly Potatoes,” since everyone seems to rave about them. Unfortunately, they were a bit of a letdown for me — they tasted slightly bland and could have used more seasoning or some sort of sauce to bring them to life. The biggest issue was the wait time. We ended up waiting nearly 45 minutes for our food, which felt extremely long, especially for brunch. However, once everything arrived, the flavors (aside from the potatoes) were satisfying enough that we still left happy. Despite the minor hiccups, I’d still highly recommend coming here, especially if you’re craving a solid brunch spot with delicious steak and eggs or indulgent French toast. Just make sure you’re prepared for a bit of a wait! Almost forgot loved the Dirty Chai

Had a fantastic breakfast at Driftwood Cafe in South Lake Tahoe! The food was absolutely delicious, and you can really taste the freshness of the ingredients in every bite. While the prices are a bit on the higher side, the quality of the food and the friendly, efficient service made it worth it. The cozy atmosphere and mountain-town charm added to the overall great experience. If you're looking for a solid breakfast spot in South Lake Tahoe, Driftwood Cafe is definitely worth a visit!

We visited Driftwood Cafe in mid-late July and had breakfast on a weekday morning. It was not crowded. The 3-egg omelet was great, the waffle with bacon was delicious, coffee was great. Service was great, atmosphere was nice. Price was on the high side but expected given the tourist location. I definitely recommend having breakfast here if you're vacationing in Lake Tahoe.
W N — Google review
I visited this brunch spot in the morning. They offer both classic American breakfast dishes and some Mexican-inspired options, which I really liked. Overall, it was a good experience, but I ordered the biscuit and gravy, and unfortunately both biscuits had completely burnt bottoms. I could only eat the fluffy tops, the rest was not edible. On the bright side, the service was excellent—very quick and friendly even though the place was busy at peak time. I understand mistakes can happen when it’s crowded, but two big burnt biscuits were hard to tolerate. Still, I think the food has great potential because the flavors were good, and if not burnt, this dish would have been delicious. I’ll give it 3 stars. I’d still recommend the restaurant, just hoping my experience was a one-off.
FENGYAN Z — Google review
The restaurant is small and often very busy. I advise to make a reservation in advance. Otherwise, expect to wait over 30 minutes. The portions are large, enough for one person or even to share. The food tasted alright and the hot chocolate was delicious.

Artemis Lakefront Café is a charming Mediterranean restaurant that offers outdoor seating and an espresso bar. It's a great spot to enjoy beer, wine, and cocktails in a relaxed atmosphere. The café is known for its casual vibe and is perfect for various occasions, from a quick happy hour drink at the Boathouse on the Pier to a cozy romantic dinner at Cafe Fiore or Evans American Gourmet Cafe.
Beautiful cafe. Loved the lamb breakfast gyro with fruits on the side. Greek Breakfast is another tasty and filling option. Tried Turkish Coffee for the first time, fun experiment! Hazelnut latte was the right amount of sweet. Enjoyed the lake view.

There were a few places to choose from in the area but we went with Artemis Lakefront Cafe. We ordered the fish and chips, calamari, tofu wrap, and their house burger. Everything was delish. My favorite was the fish and chips. The seasoning on the fish was really good and it was super crispy. The ambiance is definitely breathtaking, lakefront view for sure. The weather was nice enough to sit outside. The service was ok. Our server was nice but it took home awhile to refill our water glass and to bring the bill. But I’d come back here again for their fish and chips.
Jemellee M — Google review
I want to start by saying the food at this restaurant was genuinely delicious — beautifully presented and full of flavor and waitress was great. The kitchen clearly takes pride in what they do, and for that, I give full credit. However, the overall experience was overshadowed by a very troubling incident. During our visit, another customer made a remark while standing before the outside fireplace in chilly outside area before and after eating. We brought it to Manager’s attention and stead of addressing the situation appropriately, the staff/manager remained passive and made comments that further encouraged bad atmosphere and the response lacked the empathy or seriousness the moment deserved. We will not be coming back and will not recommend this place.
Anju K — Google review
Despite the positive online reviews, my experience at your restaurant fell short of expectations. While we were promptly seated outdoors and initially attended to without delay, the service quickly deteriorated. We ordered the fish sandwich, breakfast omelette, and fish & chips. Though the food was decent, it hardly lived up to the hype. Once the meals were served, the attention to our table seemed to vanish entirely. We had to call the waiter multiple times - just to request water and coffee. It wasn’t a matter of being understaffed; the waiter was visibly engaged in casual conversations with other staff. One standout was a courteous staff member who checked in on guests to ensure a positive experience. Upon expressing our disappointment, she responded professionally and resolved the issue, which we appreciated. However, it’s worth noting that customers are required to pay at least $16 for parking before even walking through the door. For that added cost, such inattentive service is frankly unacceptable.

Stopped here for lunch before our boat tour in Lake Tahoe. Cool lil spot on the lake. My wife had the wings, I had the chicken gyro and we split the ceasar salad. Note: the wings were in a buffalo sauce. Didn't really get that from the description. The service was pretty quick and the food was tasty. Traditional Mediterranean flavors. The staff was helpful. The views were great. They have an outside bar as well. Give it a try if you're near the lake.

Edward was great! We came on a busy Saturday mid morning. Tina pits and chicken pita were excellent. Location is great to the marina and the beach. Excellent place to people watch. Also a great place to wash away gambling blues. Great service. Great food. Great atmosphere.

Artemis Lakefront Cafe delivered for my last lunch. My lamb gyro and fries were delicious. I like their special sauce for the fries. Also, save room for baklava because it was quite tasty. Thanks Maria for the great recommendations.
Jake H — Google review
Okay if you compare it with “American food”, not even in the same ballpark if you’re comparing it to Greek food 🇬🇷. One thing they do really good is seasoning their fries 🍟. Pleasant outdoor seating with the fireplace, but a buzzkiller if you’re asked to leave more than 1 hour before their (googlemaps) closingtime.

This locally run eatery offers an extensive menu of authentic Thai dishes bursting with traditional flavors. From savory soups and fresh salads to flavorful noodle dishes and aromatic stir-fries, the restaurant promises a delightful culinary experience. Notable menu items include the rich Panang Curry and the delectable Crispy Duck.
This cute little restaurant was a very big hit! It was a packed house! Lots of locals and travelers come to this place. The service was exceptional! The food was amazing! Definitely will come back here when we do vacation in Tahoe again!

This is a great restaurant with a wonderful atmosphere and staff! We came here because of the variety of vegan options and were not disappointed. The food was delicious and we had plenty of options. I was also presently surprised that their yellow curry was vegan. Highly recommend!
Vanya P — Google review
We went there for dinner and ordered the My Thai Hot Wings, Pineapple Fried Rice, My Thai Sizzling, and Pad Thai. The food was pretty good, not amazing but decent, about what you would expect from a typical Thai restaurant. Since there aren’t many dining options around the lake, it’s a nice spot to go when you’re craving Asian food.
Rachel S — Google review
If I could give this place 10 stars, I absolutely would! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was elegant, warm, and beautifully designed—such a gorgeous setting to enjoy an unforgettable meal. I ordered the crab pad thai, the healthy roll, and the mango cake. Every single bite was pure perfection—so fresh, flavorful, and made with such care. The crab pad thai was rich and perfectly balanced, the healthy roll was light yet packed with deliciousness, and the mango cake was the sweetest, dreamiest finish to the meal. The service was excellent—attentive, friendly, and professional. You can feel the love and pride that goes into both the food and the experience here. This is hands down one of the best Thai restaurants I’ve ever been to. And honestly, anyone who gives them less than five stars must not know what they’re talking about. Do yourself a favor and come experience this gem—it’s a true 10-star place!

Cozy Restaurant with delicious food! The Avacado Rolls were a delight and really filling. Tom Yum soup was good and opens up your palette. The hungover noodles was delicious but with a lot of meat, which worked perfectly for me. Next time in Tahoe, will come back for sure!
Rishi M — Google review
I had a great experience at this Thai restaurant yesterday! The flavors are slightly on the sweeter side, which really suits my taste. The portion sizes are huge and very generous. The Tom Yum soup was especially delicious — after getting caught in the rain and taking a cruise, it instantly warmed me up. The crab fried rice was tasty, and my husband’s pork shoulder was not only flavorful but also came in a very large portion. Overall, highly recommended if you don’t mind (or even enjoy) a slightly sweeter Thai flavor profile!

11:30 a.m. Monday: fast service, quickly served. My usual Thai dish was adequate, but not stellar for the high cost and small portion. Some ingredients were too fibrous, and flavor was less than expected. Service and ambience were very good. This restaurant clearly aspires to be high-end. I was in and out in less than 30 minutes.

This place is simple fantastic! We come here each time we visit Lake Tahoe. And are never disappointed…unless they’re closed. Good food that’s always fresh, baked daily, and the people are always so kind. Eat here; you’ll love it.

This place is awesome. I had the Sausage, egg, cheese, and spinach burrito, it had big pieces of sausage & eggs. A blueberry and cranberry muffin that was perfectly balanced, with the sweetness of the blueberries and the tartness of the cranberries, it was soooo soft and delicious. A pastry that was tender and baked perfectly. A Mocha iced coffee, great flavor. The line was long, but it moved quickly. It was worth the time. I recommend that you make the time too, you will not be disappointed. I can't wait for my next visit.
Jessie F — Google review
While biking in Tahoe City, we found this place on our map, and what piqued our interest were the pastries. We did arrive well past breakfast time, so we ended up getting sandwiches for lunch. The team member handling my order was very helpful, as I don't normally go out for sandwiches. I asked for her personal recommendation, which she suggested her go-to sandwich combination: black forest ham, but I can't recall the bread of choice, but it was delicious! A quick and quaint spot to drop by if ever in the area.

Meat loaf sandwich was terrible, should be taken off the menu based on other reviews. Chicken pot pie was good, avoid pasta salads. We had a slice of chocolate cake that was great. This place has such potential, just wish the food was better.

Earliest coffee you can get closest to the Palisades, which is why I had to go there. What a treat it was, the lady who worked there I believe is probably the owner was so sweet tucked to my boyfriend, and I by the fireplace and gave us a freshly brewed cup of coffee. Just for the fireplace and the cute cabin alone I would go back. Also the lady or whoever owns it makes all their own products and they’re delicious.

Great little market to stop by and grab some goods when you're at lake Tahoe. Their deli is phenomenal. In the evening they serve flatbread pizzas which are absolutely delicious. Great selection of snacks, beer, wine, champagne, cold drinks, chips and more.

Such a cute little spot with vegan-friendly options whether you want to cook your own meal or grab something on the go. Great little market, deli, and coffee shop. They have a great beer selection including local beers, a wine cellar, an ATM, the basic food essentials, a bit of dog/cat food, and much more. The staff is friendly. Breakfast is from 7-10 and lunch is from 10-3:30 Only downside is it’s a bit pricey, but it makes sense given the location

Westshore Market is the perfect little local gem! It’s a cute, well-stocked spot that has pretty much everything you need in a pinch—plus some great surprises. Their coffee selection is solid, and the deli sandwiches are next level. I got the vegetarian and the BLT with avocado—both were absolutely delicious. The vibe is great, the energy is warm, and the staff are super friendly. Love having a place like this to pop into for quality and good feels.

I’ve been to the west shore market a handful of times. Most often and I go there to just get a sandwich. Today I stopped in my with my wife and we got the turkey club. That’s how much is amazing! The staff there was very super friendly to on our way out we made sure to grab a cookie to go with her sandwich. But I really like about this place is there is also a clean restroom. It’s a great place to be able to stop. It’s right off the highway 89. It’s also super easy parking.

This is my Go To place before I settle on the beach. The fresh baked desserts vary, but man if you’re there before they run out then you’ll be deliciously rewarded. For lunch, you can’t go wrong with the Cubano. The flatbreads are mouthwatering too but they serve them later in the day only TH- SAT.

An absolutely delicious sandwich after a day on the water. We come here every year and it’s never disappointing. There are also gluten free options.
Blake S — Google review
Today’s $18 club/turkey sandwich was very disappointing. Ended up with a chunk of the end of the turkey roll which was rubbery and not edible, tomato mushy and avocado was like a thin spread of store bought quac. We’ve eaten here many times before but this time quality of ingredients way down and prices just too high for quality of ingredients getting. Threw out 3/4 of the sandwich. Friend got a tuna melt which was a cold tuna salad sandwich. Another disappointment. Maybe it was a bad day for sandwich making, but $60 for two disappointing sandwiches, small bag of chips and two waters was ridiculous when you look at the quality of ingredients in the sandwiches.

Located in Tahoe City, CA, The Dam Cafe is a cozy and charming coffee shop that offers a variety of breakfast burritos, coffee drinks, smoothies, and lunchtime sandwiches. Situated across from the Truckee River outlet and Fanny Bridge at the 'Y' of highway 89 and 28, this little cafe prides itself on serving quality espresso drinks like Illy coffee and teas.
My family rented bikes and rode the trail from Palisades into Tahoe City and stopped at the Dam Cafe for a late lunch. We dropped in right before closing but the staff was gracious and the food was fabulous despite how busy they were. They had a gentleman outside playing music and he chided me for not clapping enough. I would have been upset but he was super nice and talked to us between songs. What did we order? Mostly smoothies and coffee and it was all very good. I love the ample parking and convenient location. I also love supporting local businesses and this one is a good one. Keep your receipt! Bagel sandwiches and smoothie shop! The girls who work there are kind. The food is good! Especially their current special smoked salmon on a bagel. Big portions and good prices. Good for a quick breakfast for a family. Cute small dining area. Update: took off 2 stars .. went a second time. They were rude when busy. I added hot chocolate after our order. Paid for it. But they forgot to put it under my name and didn’t want to give it to me I had to talk her into it and almost offered to show my bank statement because she was being so rude acting like we were trying to trick her.

Great place great location but food here could definitely use some improvement…. Every time I eat here is literally nothing special… just average food…. No spices nothing special… I would love to give 5 stars but I can’t …. Food is food I guess Addition: yes your cafe in Tahoe City, California … I recently ordered a burrito priced at nearly $18 after tax, and unfortunately, I found it to be quite dry and lacking in flavor. To be candid, I’ve had better burritos from Safeway for just $5.99. While the price isn’t my main concern, the quality of the food did not meet expectations. I believe your team has the potential to deliver a much better culinary experience, and I encourage you to review and refine your recipes and preparation methods. Even a quick review of best practices or tutorials online could offer helpful insights. I’m confident you can elevate the quality of your offerings and hope to see improvements in the future. Wishing you continued success.

This past week, my daughter and I visited Tahoe City, and we are from Texas! We came to the Dam Cafe to grab some breakfast, since we read some good reviews for the most part. Well, we both had a breakfast sandwich with coffee, and it was SO good!!! We enjoyed it so much that we went back the next two days of our stay, and got breakfast, lunch, and a Blueberry Granola smoothie to snack on later in the day, since they close at 1pm. Lucia and Pamela do an excellent job running this place and kitchen! They are so friendly and kind! I came across some reviews that complained about how long it took for their order or the size/amount of food items, and these are my thoughts about those kind of comments: 1. I think some of these negative reviews were written intentionally to discourage people from going there. 2. They make your food when you order, and if you happen to go in a busier time of the day, there's a chance you might wait about 15 minutes, or maybe a bit longer, but trust me, it's worth the wait! Food items we ordered and loved are: breakfast sandwich with avocado, breakfast burritos, lattes, iced coffee, smoothies and coffee muffin. Everything tasted so good.

Food- 5 Service-4.8 Vibe-4.7 💯 for quality and effort put into making each item! Things to know -not much seating -review the menu before you go. Many customers when I was there (including myself) took a while to order because we weren’t really able to add or subtract items from the drinks or food listed on the menu. I understand why Black Cabin does this but still, made my typical breakfast order a little longer than usual! -it didn’t seem busy but it took about 20 minutes for my breakfast sandwich to come out (Quality food though).

Coming from a Portlandian coffee snob Black Cabin has the best coffee in S̶o̶u̶t̶h̶ ̶L̶a̶k̶e̶ the Tahoe region no question. Ordered the Hazy cortado and even got laté art despite being in a to-go cup! Great atmosphere with a lot of classy yet humorous decor. Their esspresso roast is fairly dark and well pulled on equipment they rebuilt in house. The cold brew was also very nice, brewed using a light and fruity Ethiopian roast. They are even working on a Swiss-process for those that don't want caffeine but want their decaf to taste like coffee and not burnt beans (update: its excellent). Food is great, I've had the Cristo, Sam, Super rito, green goddess power bowl, and the affogato that I'm currently fawning over. Go try it.

Tahoe Waterman's is a pretty incredible place along Lake Tahoe. My son attended their summer camp this past week. It's exactly what you hope for in a camp. The instructors are helpful and motivating - and really care about the kids. The kids are all welcoming (my son came home with sunscreen face paint that other kids helped him with). And it's both challenging and fun. I'd drive up from the Bay Area just so my kids can participate in the future. I've also taken paddle lessons from Jay. He's an awesome instructor; informative and fun. Oh, and the coffee is rocket fuel. Best in the area. High recommend this place all around.

Unfortunately, the second time I visited was around 11:00 AM, and rightfully so, most of their pastries were sold out, but I was able to get my hands on one of the blueberry scones, and the barista added the icing 😍😋. I'm a latte lover, so that's what I opted for. It was okay. It was not as rich as I'm accustomed to, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. The excellent staff and unique, inviting, and cozy ambiance easily made up for it. It was a great start to my chilly morning. If I revisit the area, I'll spend most of my mornings here 😁.

Their mochas have a unique flavor, I really liked them! The bakery items were also super fresh and delicious. Highly recommend!!

A definite highlight on my last trip up. Might have gotten coffee here everyday. My coffee order is real simple (hot, black, no sugar or sweeteners) and this place delivers. Really took to their dark roast "Cowboy" blend. Always a line but it moved quick. Lot of outdoor seating, fair amount of seats indoors (mix of table and chairs) and plenty of parking in the lot. Small merch section with the usual variety of tshirts, hoodies, and coffee accessories.

Cozy, rustic seating areas, very friendly baristas, and great-tasting coffee. We got the pistachio latte which wasn’t very sweet but had a prominent pistachio flavour. We also got the iced mocha which was sweet, but not too sweet. It hit the perfect balance. Highly recommend this coffee place instead of the usual chains.

Love to support local businesses. What a great coffeehouse. Their coffee and tea were delicious. They have great selection of pastries. Really enjoyed our apple strudel. Scones and chocolate twist were delicious. Place do get busy. Love the vibe. Ample of parking. They also sell beans and clothings. When in south Tahoe, highly recommended for coffee and pastries.

I had the blue cheese burger and it was absolutely amazing – perfectly cooked, juicy, and packed with flavor. The drinks were fabulous, and the service was top-notch from start to finish. Great atmosphere and an all-around fantastic experience. I’ll definitely be coming back!

**Review of the Speakeasy in South Lake Tahoe** Having visited many speakeasies around the world, I was excited to check out the first speakeasy in South Lake Tahoe, and it didn’t disappoint! The place is small but charming, with a cozy atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. One of the highlights of my visit was the live music, which added a vibrant energy to the space. It’s the perfect backdrop for enjoying a night out. The cocktails were impressive; each drink was crafted with care and creativity, showcasing a thoughtful selection of ingredients. The only downside was the service, which was a bit slow during my visit. Overall, I highly recommend this speakeasy for its unique ambiance, great live music, and fantastic cocktails.

Brunch was VERY expensive. We paid $55 for 2 bagels, no drinks, no sides, just 2 bagels sandwiches. There are plenty of places nearby for much, much cheaper for a breakfast sandwich. The bagels themselves were fine, they were under-seasoned and dry because they had no sauce at all. You’d probably find better at any old bagel shop. Do not recommend brunch at all.
Kaylin R — Google review
Outdoor seating was very nice to have lunch, waitress was very friendly and shared points of interest. The food came out after a short wait. The burgers were cooked to perfection. Dont skip the fries and salad was large for a side item. Good spot to have a meal

***Worst Rueben sandwich I’ve ever eaten in 40 years. I’ve been here multiple times. Their burgers are good and their fried chicken and fries are normal bar fare. Outside patio is nice and the vibe is great. Sometime they have live music adding to the ambience Service is a solid 3. Surprised how bad the Reuben sandwich was. Seeing how people who like Reubens are used to a baseline standard. Not even sure if this reached a Dennys standard. If you like Reubens do not order here. Cole slaw is old and flavorless. Tap house down the street is better for overall bar food. But the the location and burgers make it acceptable.

Food wasn’t that good compared to their prices, my food was cold salty and had way too much mustard but the margarita was good overall, servers were okay she had an additude

Regular pub and sandwich restaurant in the front, but the 20 person Speakeasy through the cold freezer is exceptional with live music and total hipster vibe - special custom cocktail 🍸 menu with about 20 options (see menu pictures) and a $10 cover is added to your bill. It's totally worth it, underground, and apparently very difficult to get into. Filled with beautiful people, art, and a visually captivating light up bar. The staff and bar tenders were very friendly and loved their jobs. 11/10 just exceptional and a unique experience in the heart of South Lake Tahoe that's totally off the map, unassuming, and hidden. Just loved this!!! 😍 Thank you sweethearts 🙏🍸

The coffee cake is amazing. It’s super moist and full of cinnamon, like a lighter version of a cinnamon roll. The staff was super friendly and coffee is good. Lots of other pastries and snacks that look delicious as well.

First visit here. The young lady helped my wife to choose the right coffee drink. She ended up making her a drink with cold brew coffee, English toffee syrup and creamer on ice. My wife liked how strong the coffee was. My son had a non coffee drink, Coconut Cream.
Manuel G — Google review
Very average. The cappuccino had the solid bath foam at the top, which I do not like. The old fashioned oatmeal was just cup with dry oatmeal which was handed to me. Customer needs to figure out where is the hot water and pour it in. The cafe is otherwise nice inside, but cannot recommend coffee or the food there.

Read the reviews and were excited for unique and delicious donuts but unfortunately we got these. Arrived at 7 am sharp and there was only 1 kind of donut in the case, a twist. Waited a half hour and this is what was available. They were fresh but tasted anything but fresh. They were chewy and just frankly inedible. We can normally eat at least 3 donuts apiece but these $16 things went directly in the trash. Very, very disappointing.

Tunnel Creek Café is a cozy cabin-style eatery located in the former Ponderosa Ranch area of Incline Village. It serves classic café meals, espresso, and draft brews in a comfortable atmosphere. The café is popular among hikers and bikers accessing or coming down from the Flume Trail, offering breakfast, lunch, and early dinner options. Additionally, it hosts a farmer's market during the summer and fall seasons.
Stopped by Tunnel Creek Café while in Lake Tahoe and tried the Big Bleu Burger—absolutely worth it. The beef was juicy, the blue cheese added the perfect tang, and the crispy onion rings sealed the deal. It’s the kind of burger that hits after a hike or kayak trip. The vibe here is relaxed and welcoming, with outdoor seating that lets you soak in the Tahoe air. Great food, friendly staff, and the perfect spot to recharge after hitting the trails. Highly recommend!

My friends and I decided to visit this cafe for our stay at incline village and ordered a variety of dishes. The food was not bad but definitely overpriced for what you got. I payed over 13 dollars for a singular salad (the latte is my friends that I stole from her for the picture), so keep in mind it’s a little pricey. The mocha and latte there is brewed nicely and comes in a cute mug. Really nice atmosphere to sit in as well!
Melisho — Google review
This was the perfect spot to grab food after hiking or biking. I got the Rancher Salad but turned it into a wrap and added blue cheese. It was so tasty and VERY filling. We could have split it, but it was great. The line around 12:15 was out the door, it moved slow, but wasn’t awful. There are plenty of seats inside and outside. And once ordered the food came pretty quickly. There was a guy playing guitar and singing and there were a few cornhole boards, too.
Allison T — Google review
My rating is based off of my food. Ordered the breakfast burrito w/house bacon jam. Pictures look better than it taste! It was more of a dessert favor than breakfast. The overly sweet flavor of the bacon jam made the burrito barely edible. Every bite felt as if I was pouring sugar directly into my mouth.

If you are desperate for a good cup of coffee ☕ in Lake Tahoe, this is your place. Generally coffee sucks around Tahoe and this place is the exception. Ignore the garbage can in the window, and the Sanford and Son's interior design. The coffee rocks. The Tahoe brittle is great, but expensive.
Matt S — Google review
Good coffee and pastry, free WiFi (4/5 green stars also) I wasn’t expecting to get particularly good coffee here – mostly because of a preconception because of the location (in a shopping center near a Safeway) but it turned out to be surprisingly good. I had a cup of their organic Brazil coffee from Vanelis (natural-processed, light roast) and a coffee cake muffin – both were very good. I can’t remember the exact price except that it was pretty cheap (I think less than $5 total). Ambiance is fine, free WiFi is a perk. I’m also giving them 4/5 Green Stars for social and environmental impact, based on these reasons: • Their coffee is from local roaster, Vanelis, who tend to use certified beans (organic or Rainforest Alliance) but don’t really comment on their pricing (I don’t think any is Fair Trade certified, but they did mention having some direct trade relationships with farmers). • The particular coffee I had, as well as being organic, was processed the “natural” way, saving water. • Their tea is from Tahoe Local – like the coffee, it’s organic but there’s no comment on trade relationships. • They make pastries in house, I believe. I neglected to ask about their sourcing of ingredients (dairy, etc.). • Take out cups are conventional (non-compostable) so bring your own! • They support local artists.

Most quaint and excellent cafe I've been to in a long time. Stumbled in here accidentally after foregoing starbucks due to the line. Relaxing and comical atmosphere; friendly and helpful service; delicious and wholesome food options. Brain boost coffee was extraordinary with a blend of coconut oil and other products to create a latte-like froth on top. To go cup served with a hunk of waffle cone tucked into the sleeve to crunch and scoop the foam. If this place was near home, I would be here every other day.

Anna M — Google review
This rating is just for the acai bowl itself. The bowl was good even though the mango was in the form of frozen little pellets that just tasted like frozen ice. The interior of the shop is reminiscent of a thrift store. The acai bowl was served in a rather strange tall green plastic cup with a long tiny spoon. There was a crooked sticker placed on the cup with the store logo on it. The store does a lot of things right but peculiar design decisions make this place uninviting. They should have made a visually clean shop with their great porduct served in a standard bowl. The staff was very nice, so I will try this spot again next year. Hopefully by then the putting green lawn in entryway will be gone by then.
