Bakery
The Gingerbread Factory has been a part of Leavenworth's culinary scene since 1989, offering a charming bakery and cafe experience. The facade resembles a gingerbread house, adding to its quaint appeal. This establishment serves up an array of sweet treats and tasty breakfast and lunch options seven days a week. From quiches to sandwiches, deli salads to baked goods including gluten-free options, there's something for everyone.
Cannot recommend this place enough! The cookies are amazing, especially the gingerbread and the chocolate chip! We went in early and were quick to get desserts for later in the day. Definitely would suggest going in soon after opening for a quick, easy experience for delicious treats.
Kourtney S — Google review
We stopped by The Gingerbread Factory and really enjoyed it. The place looks like it’s straight out of a fairytale, and the gingerbread cookie we tried was soft, tasty, and super cute. It’s the kind of treat that’s fun for both kids and adults. Definitely worth a quick stop if you’re walking around town!
Anup H — Google review
Truthfully I’m not a big gingerbread fan but this espresso frosted chocolate cookie was amazing! It was a bit dark in the shop but the staff were friendly and they had tap water available, which was really appreciated on a hot day. Definitely stop in.

• Review Gingerbread Factory Bakery – Leavenworth, WA I’m convinced this is the gingerbread all other gingerbreads write fan mail to. Absolutely the most delicious I’ve ever tasted! Honestly — sprint after the Gingerbread Man, tackle him gently, and eat him slowly with zero remorse. (Or, do the “greedy-gobble” u choose! ). Your taste buds will send you a thank-you note. #BestGingerbread #LeavenworthWA #GingerbreadMan #WATourist #Siggie_E 💋

The Gingerbread Factory is warm and inviting from the moment you walk in. Their soft, perfectly spiced gingersnaps are delicious, and the friendly staff make every visit a treat. A must-stop in Leavenworth! My wife and children love this place—I highly recommend it!
Michael — Google review
A wonderful little shop specializing in cookies and baked treats. The store is adorable and atmospheric, inviting you to order and enjoy. The gingersnaps were a pleasant memory of Christmas time, even in the dead of August. Every bite left me wanting more.
Isaac E — Google review
Super cute bakery with seating. The entrance is magical with a fairy tree and gingerbread house. Lots of delicious treats to pick from! Very few gluten free options though.
Sara D — Google review
Go early so you don’t have to wait in line. It’s a neat little spot, but there’s no reason to stand in the monstrous lines that exist during the Christmas season. The cookies were very good and worth a visit. The atmosphere is also enjoyable with cozy lighting and an agreeable gingerbread smell that sort of soaks into your clothes if you’re there for more than a few minutes. The people working the counter were also cheery, so that was a nice plus. All in all, it’s a spot that ought to be on your list—but don’t prioritize it to the point you’re waiting with the masses in the line that stretched to the end of the street! Would visit again.

Bakery
Bavarian Bakery, located near Leavenworth, is renowned for its delectable baked goods crafted with care and expertise by a skilled team. Whether you have a penchant for classic flavors or crave more adventurous combinations, this bakery offers a wide range of food specialties to cater to every taste. The enticing aroma of their freshly baked products is sure to captivate your senses and leave you yearning for more.
We really loved the baked goods here. They have cakes, pastries, pretzels, rolls, and breads. The pretzel was obviously a highlight, served with delicious German mustard. We also got a seed roll and an almond apricot pastry. Prices are really reasonable. The cashier was friendly and helpful. There is limited seating inside, but it feels like more of a grab and go place. Just a couple of parking spots.
Irene R — Google review
Chocolate croissant: good flavor in the dough. The chocolate flavor was lacking in my opinion. The croissant had a good golden color, which would lead me to believe it has a good flakey texture. Unfortunately, it was pretty soft. It felt a bit dry and stale in my mouth. But we had this at 10am, which shouldn’t be too late in the day to expect staleness. I wouldn’t get it again, but it was alright. Cinnamon Roll: also had good flavor, but dry and stale at the same time. Could use a nice toasting to bring it back to life. I wouldn’t get it again. Pretzel: I liked the contrast of the crispy thin insides and the thick belly on the outside. Nice and chewy, with great pretzel flavor. The mustard was also great. The best pretzel I’ve had in Leavenworth, and good price. I would easily get this again.
Summer S — Google review
I read up on the Bavarian Bakery which is on the edge of Leavenworth, entering from the Eastside. It’s easy to get to and you don’t have to fight for parking! Come EARLY, as the breads are warm! Great variety (I went around 9:30 am), though my pretzel was a bit on the harder side (will need to microwave it) - have heard mixed reviews on the pretzels, so maybe I just got one from a lesser batch. Was MORE impressed with the raisin bread! SO soft and had golden and regular raisins! Decently priced items! I would’ve gotten a bunch more items, but I was driving quite a distance today. Great place to try out and they bake their goods in store! Super friendly staff! Will go again when I’m in the area! Would give 4.5 stars bc of my pretzel (bc of others’ posts), but will give a 5, bc they had so many other options and that BREAD of theirs! BUY SOME WHILE IT’S WARM!
Carone J — Google review
I stopped by for some sweet treats on the way to the Reindeer farm and had a good experience. It was not busy and selected a piece of apple strudel, a vanilla custard pretzel, a few rolls, and a pretzel. The has a nice selection of breads, rolls, cake like black forest cherry, pastries including danish, cinnamon rolls, croissant, and much more. The vanilla custard pretzel was not too sweet and had a nice taste to it. The apple strudel was really good with firm apples and a nice pastry around it. The pretzel had a nice taste to it and was not soft. The pretzel roll was really nice and had a nice taste to it Located on US Hwy 2 near Dan's Market and walking distance from Front Street in Leavenworth. A nice place to stop for a sweet treat with friendly service, and a wide range of German baked goods.
Ed L — Google review
This bakery is located across the street from McDonalds and the main strip area of Leavenworth. They've got a nice selection of pastries and bread and the owner is from Germany. The pretzels tasted pretty good. They've also got a nice shop sticker if you like to collect those.
Justin H — Google review
Staff here were delightful. The baker was passionate about the quality of his ingredients. I purchased a loaf of raisin bread..it was still warm. This is honestly the best bread I have ever had in my entire life and I eat a lot of bread! ; ) I will definitely return. My husband got a gluten free pastry and he really enjoyed it too. Thank you so much!
Tara C — Google review
Great service and great snacks! The young lady behind the counter was very friendly. Very reasonable pricing as well.
Krystle R — Google review
Exceptional, authentic Bavarian bakery in Leavenworth. A little bit off the beaten path, but it’s the best in town. some of the German places in Leavenworth are a little kitschy, but this is the real deal. It’s worth it to walk a little further north because Bert is the best in town. The bread is locally sourced and delicious. We will be back!

Bakery
The Danish Bakery in Leavenworth offers a variety of German-style pastries and bread, including vegan options. Their raspberry turnover and German cream puff are highly recommended. The bakery is known for its three types of strudel (cherry, apple, and raspberry cream cheese) as well as croissants, cinnamon bread, and Bavarian waffles.
Great coffee shop to stop at. The coffee is good and there is a big selection of pastries to choose from. The prices are also not very high. Definitely recommend visiting.
Violetta F — Google review
This famous Danish bakery, right in the heart of Leavenworth, is an absolute must-visit, especially if you have a sweet tooth! I'd heard whispers of its legendary status, and I'm happy to report it lived up to the hype. Even with the typically large crowds that gather here – a testament to its popularity – it's well worth braving the line for their incredible Danish desserts. The aroma alone is enough to draw you in, a tantalizing blend of buttery pastries and sweet spices. The sheer variety of Danish treats on display is truly impressive, from classic kringles and pastries to more unique and creative creations. It's a feast for the eyes as well as the stomach!
C ( — Google review
Everything we bought was really good. The prices were really reasonable I thought, especially as everything is getting more and more expensive. I read some of the other reviews and yeah they could put more cream in some of the rolls but you still get plenty for what you get. The pretzel was warm tasted good, cheese sauce tasted good. I would go again.
Michael H — Google review
I stopped by for a sweet treat after my lunch at the Munchen Haus and was a little disappointed. It was a little busy and I wanted to try a piece of apple strudel with a cannoli, a almond kringle, and a pretzel. The bakery has a large selection of Danish pastries, apple turnover, cinnamon bread, Bavarian waffles, and much more. The pretzel tasted like a big piece of soft bread and was bland. The chocolate cannoli had nice taste to it and was very good. The apple strudel was a little sweet and the filling was soft. The almond kringle had a nice balance of flavors. You will also find a large coffee menu, speciality drinks, Italien soda, and other drinks. Located on Front Street in Leavenworth near the Munchen Haus. The bakery has a large selection of baked goods that are not great, but average with friendly service and a nice location.
Ed L — Google review
Located in the heart of Leavenworth Main Street, this Danish bakery offers limited seating, with around 6-7 tables of four. However, it’s perfect for grabbing a treat to enjoy while strolling. I tried their Bavarian waffle, which was delightfully crispy and sweet, pairing wonderfully with coffee.
Ankur R — Google review
I ordered a raspberry turnover $5 and a coconut macaroon $3. I wanted to order another pastry but the customer in front of me got the last one. If you want a large selection then you'll want to come early because Danish Bakery is a sell until they're out business and they go fast. I arrived later in the day but the selection was better than I expected. The pastry was very light and flaky, with a rich raspberry filling. The filling wasn't overfilled which was nice, and the rich flavor made each bite taste like the perfect ratio of berry, softness, and crispy buttery turnover. The top was covered in swedish pearl sugar and gave it a pleasant crunch and some extra sweetness. Well worth the five dollars. The macaroon was surprisingly soft and pulled apart to reveal a very moist and creamy center. It had a strong vanilla-cream taste to it and was also quite good. It is nothing like the dried out macaroons you will find at grocery stores. I was hesitant to pay $3 a cookie for more than one, but after trying it I think I should have gotten a few more. The service was good, but only one worker who seemed tired and a little stressed. The line was moving slower than it should in a bakery and I think they really need to have another barista helping out. The store, while cute and matching the towns Bavarian theme, was very small and you had to pardon your way through the line to see the second glass case, then pardon your way back to get in line. Not much seating. I think they could benefit from a different layout in the store where you see all the displays before finally ordering. And the floor space is so little that even if there was seating available I wouldn't have wanted to sit inside because there would be customers looking over your shoulder the whole time. But if you're planning on just going in, ordering, and leaving then this place is great! Delicious every bite!
Ben A — Google review
Enjoyed a pretzel and mustard from here today. The gals working were really friendly and nice! The pretzel would have been top notch if it was warmed, but otherwise was tasty. Would love to come back and try a sweet treat next time!
Christina R — Google review
Cute little shop for bakery. Overall a good sweets place with reasonable collection. Tried a few items both were decent.

Grocery store
Dan's Food Market is a full-service grocery store that offers fresh meats, a full deli, produce, bakery items, and a great selection of wine and beer. It is known as a place where friends meet friends. Visitors have praised the store for its friendly staff and reasonable prices. The market has been described as amazing with its variety of products and surprisingly sophisticated offerings. Customers appreciate the convenience of the location in the heart of town and recommend supporting this small-town grocery store over larger chain options.
We love Dan's! We come to Leavenworth a couple times a year to visit and now we always stop here instead of going to Safeway. We like shopping local and this place has everything we need and more. We especially like to visit the bakery in the morning and we've been interested in trying out their deli sandwiches too.
Ben M — Google review
Amazing local store. It has everything you need and more! Don’t shop elsewhere. You can also save money by eating from their deli, which has a ton of options for breakfast and lunch. Delightful employees as well!
Jennifer T — Google review
Great place to pickup delicious hot meat-filled sandwiches and a $5 northwest day pass. Perfect one-stop shop for a hike to Colchuck Lake! Everyone working at this food market is super friendly, welcoming, and proactively helpful.
Stephanie S — Google review
Dan's is the only place we shop while camping in Leavenworth. We stay away from Safeway and support all local businesses. Dan also carries Home fries bakery products and they are fantastic! Everything we have tried is excellent! Also check out Dan's weekly ads and compare with Safeway Dan's is better or close to their best prices, so shop Dan's and be a part of the community in Leavenworth!
Timothy Z — Google review
One must stop and go back to the deli and order a custom made deli sandwich. They have order forms and pencils by the counter. What a treat! The sandwich was amazing! All of this and chips for $6.99. We also picked up some deviled egg potatoes salad which was amazing. Such a treat and a great market to shop. Make this place famous by just spending some time and your money. Very worth the time and effort.
Timothy B — Google review
Friendly, hometown feel, where customers are valued and treated as an individual, not a number. The employees seem happy as though they are treated well which says a lot. Much rather support a local business.
Mike F — Google review
Prices are higher than Safeway. Both cashier and manager were rude after making a $220 purchase. Cashier said payment was not processed when payment had clearly been charged to account. Dont waste your time. Just go to Safeway.
Neal T — Google review
Conveniently located grocery store located in the heart of Leavenworth. The store is surprisingly spacious with a wide selection that you'd expect in any National supermarket. The staff was friendly and helpful too. The interior is barebones and a little dirty, but the aforementioned pros outweigh this. Also, there are ~16 Tesla charging stations in the parking lot. I would recommend anyone in the Leavenworth area to stop here.

Homefires Bakery is located inside Dan's Food Market. When you get inside, go left and all the way down. They had amazing fresh baked goods! I recommend coming here.
Indaris N — Google review
Everything I've ever gotten here has been amazing, and an incredibly good deal. As if that wasn't already everything you could want, the owner used to donate all her delicious day olds to the raft guide camps in Leavenworth (basically camps full of hungry young people who can't afford enough food). I will never come to Leavenworth and not buy a bag or 2 of the amazing muffins.
Helen M — Google review
Very good quality, handmade baked goods with the kitchen visible from the counter. When closed, select baked goods are set out onto a rack or on the case (wrapped of course) so that they can still be bought while the main store (Dan's is open). The Trail Mix cookies are my top pick.
Echo E — Google review
I was hoping for a nice European-style bakery. This place sells plastic-wrapped sliced bread and is located inside of a supermarket... Also, the owner can't take feedback well and suggests I fly to Germany if I want a better experience. Please don't take it personally. Every customer has different expectations, so while most might be 100% happy with what they get - others have the right to be completely disappointed and share their thoughts. My experience is mine and mine only.
Filip S — Google review
Homefires Bakery is a must stop... We love our morning walk to Dan's Market and a visit to the Homefires Bakery in the store. The bakery rates right up there in the top 5 for me. We would recommend Homefires Bakery to anyone. I give it 5 Stars and look forward to my next visit.

Little Red's Espresso & Bakery is a unique culinary experience curated by owner Aubrey Dickinson, who has been a barista since the age of 15. The cafe offers an array of coffee options, from classic Drip Coffee to innovative choices like the Honey Lavender Latte. Their breakfast menu features signature items such as the Loaded Breakfast Burrito and inventive Bagel Breakfast Sandwich, while lunch options include delectable paninis like the Turkey Pesto and Cubano.
Such a cute little hut for coffee and breakfast sandwiches and burritos!!! While they don’t have any indoor seating, they did have cute shawls on the outdoor chairs that you could use to stay warm as you eat your food. This place has super cute branding and the drinks were awesome. Their drip coffee is delicious!! I also highly recommend the breakfast sandwich and veggie burrito - perfect morning fuel to kickstart your day! There’s free parking right across the street. The views from here and the street are also worth seeing!

We come to Leavenworth often and this was our first time trying little reds. Coffee was super good. The views are also great. Funny signs made us giggle. We also got a blueberry muffin and banana bread which was to die for.
Rebeca T — Google review
Little coffee/food stand at the edge of downtown Leavenworth! Busy, as they are at a prime location for tourists! Line goes quickly! Super friendly staff! Love the comment-stickers on the cups! Honey lavender latte was decent, but nothing super noteworthy. I’m sure their food items have more pizazz! Great little spot to grab a bite or a sip of something!
Carone J — Google review
This was one of the few places in the area that opened at 7. The rest of the breakfast places opened at 8am. We got the loaded breakfast burritos and they were great. I always love when the burritos are toasted/pressed so they’re a bit crunchy. Lots of meat and eggs inside which is always great. The Madagascar vanilla late was good but pretty standard, nothing amazing.
Mariah M — Google review
We both agreed this was the nicest coffee place we’ve ever been. The girls working were sooo lovely and started on my drink as soon as I ordered so everything was out extremely fast. They had tons of good options for food and drinks! We got a giant m&m cookie, Madagascar vanilla latte and white peach redbull, delish! They also gifted us a huge treat for our dog. So lovely and can’t wait to come back 🎃
J G — Google review
Lots of sugar free options which I can appreciate. They also have the usual suspects for coffee. They sell sweets, but I feel like all of them are oversized, so you won’t find any small treat here. Big time recommend, solid coffee.

Dont Skip Little Reds! Great coffee! Great food! And the absolute best service!

Argonaut Coffee & Biscuits is a beloved breakfast spot in Leavenworth, offering a delightful selection of coffee including americano, latte, mocha, cold brew, and specialty lattes with unique flavors. It's an ideal stop before or after a refreshing walk on the Waterfront Park Trail. The cafe serves Blue Star Coffee paired with buttermilk biscuit breakfast sandwiches and Hipster toast made with rustic sourdough bread and avocado.
TLDR; Excellent place for coffee, best biscuits I’ve ever had. We came in around 8:30 on a weekend and just made it in before the line started behind us. It gets crowded very quickly so I recommend coming as early as possible. I ordered a cappuccino, hipster avocado toast and a plain biscuit with jam and butter. Everything was delicious - the toast in insanely crunchy and the avocado is super creamy, the biscuit was generously buttered and jammed, and had a lovely crumble to it as well. The cappuccino was really well done too - coffee is roasted nicely and does not have an acidic flavor.

Omg, I just popped in to grab a drink, and everything looked amazing! Ended up getting the BEST breakfast sandwich I’ve ever had. And don't even get me started on the chai tea latte. Perfection.

**park behind the building, free customer parking there!! Don’t pay for the lot beside it!!** Great coffee, absolutely delicious breakfast sandwich (we swapped bread for their Jalapeno Cheddar biscuit which was amazing, fresh and buttery and flaky) and at the time of this review they also offer Macadamia milk as an alternative which is one of my favorites and hard to find at cafes.

This place is very nicely set up and their biscuits are sooooooooooo good. The outdoor seating area is very nice and accommodated our 7 people group very nicely. I highly recommend sipping here for the exceptional jalepeno biscuits.

We ordered the blueberry goat cheese galette, savory biscuit breakfast sandwich, hipster toast and the lemon bar latte- everything was the best I’d ever had. I never get fruity or fun lattes, but wow… so glad I tried the lemon bar! Sooo so good.

Ordered the pumpkin spice latte, a caramel macchiato, and two breakfast sammies. All was tasty and served up quickly! It was also easy to make the breakfast sammie vegetarian-friendly (removed ham and cheese, added extra egg patty, added avocado). Yum!!
Erin B — Google review
Exceptional. All of the food we had on a weekend in Leavenworth was "fine" but nothing special. Until, on our way out of town, we decided to grab a quick coffee and breakfast sandwich. The line was long and service took a little while, but the staff didn't seem to be miserable. In fact, pride in their work, the coffee, and food, was very evident. There is just something about this place that's hard to explain... it's like you can tell that the owners really care about what they're doing. The menu is very limited and that allows them to make THE BEST biscuits and breakfast sandwiches. I also love the note on their website about tips - they pay their staff a living wage so no tips are necessary. More places should be like this, in every way. Also, I'm still thinking about the chocolate chip cookie!!
Stephanie O — Google review
The absolute BEST Breakfast Biscuits, EVER!!! Super fluffy, perfectly salted Biscuits with eggs and other yummy filling choices. Go early, they always sell out. This cozy spot caters to various dietary preferences, featuring an array of vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, and dairy-free options. Cute little cafe for a quick bite, coffee and Wi-Fi. I saw that this is a family run cafe and decided to try it. We had their delicious veggie quiche with a side of roasted potatoes and crispy and light Belgium waffle with fresh fruits. Both the items tasted really good and owner was kind enough to come ask us if we liked the food. In the end, I couldn't resist the sound of their golden latte ( it had espresso, honey, cinnamon, turmeric and milk), so tried it and it was just perfect! loved the place.

Healthy choices for a good price. Indoor & outdoor seating. Always have a lovely staff to talk with. Best place in Leavy to eat or just relax. They also have a killer Mimosa.

This was one of our favorite places in Leavenworth! The service is fantastic and the food is even better! Their waffles are made from scratch and go great with the cold brew. Their smoothies and juices are a healthy start to the day and taste best when eaten on the patio outside. We will definitely be back!!

SO HAPPY I FOUND THIS PLACE! Amazing food, great atmosphere, ample surfaces for doing work or enjoying the company of a friend. Did I mention the food is DELICIOUS? Many vegan options, a place for everyone. This is the cafe I’ve been dreaming of since moving here in November. Do yourself a favor, come in and get the falafel wrap. Don’t forget to check out the amazing salads in the fridge. YUM!

The food certainly DID put me in a good mood! Best latte in town, I tried a few and on the last day, stopped here, immediately wishing I had just come here in the first place! I got a simple waffle but it was delicious and their homemade whipped cream was JUST the touch. Everything was delicious and made quickly. I would note that some tourists came in and the staff did not say "hi" or "welcome" but I'm from Texas, maybe that's just normal here. Then I realized that they hadn't welcomed me, either, until I was waiting to order. Still, they knew how to make a great latte and tasty food. Someone came in to order a bunch of their breakfast potatoes, so I bet they were tasty too!

Delicious foods and friendly staff. Cold brew was perfect and the scones crumble as you bite! Perfect morning in Leavenworth

You know its quality food from the amazing aromas that warmly welcome you inside. You can tell there is care and high standards with what they produce. The coffee and quiche were delicious ( so were the mimosas. ) The staff is also very friendly and kind.

Great place, Limited menu choice but really good food. Well worth a visit. The pics below are the main breakfast items but they are both excellent! The staff are very friendly and attentive

Louie's is a popular eatery known for its hearty American breakfast and lunch offerings, as well as refreshing drinks like mimosas and bloody Marys. Locals rave about the generous portions and delicious food, making it a must-visit spot for breakfast in town. The menu features mouthwatering options such as cornflake-breaded fried chicken on a fluffy Belgian waffle with honey butter, powdered sugar, and maple syrup.
Great Food! 1st time stopping here was very happy with the service and the food. The venue is very small! Luckily, we got there early so we didn't have to wait for a table. I think there were only 1 or 2 wait staff, but they did good about checking on the table. The menu had a lot of options and portion size was great. Biscuits and gravy were really good. A friend had the breakfast sandwich and liked the flavor of the food, but it would have been better with different bread. Overall great experience, and will come here again

First time visiting this place. We went for breakfast. Food and service were really good! It is a small and cozy space, gets crowded on weekends. French toast, chicken and waffles, omelette, coffee were delish and avacado toast was good too!
Anjali P — Google review
Good breakfast here. I had the avocado toast with salmon. It was delicious, but it also ended up being the most expensive thing on the menu. It was an extra 14 bucks for the salmon, but it was good anyway. I don’t know who needs to hear this but at this restaurant you wait to be seated outside. This is probably uncomfortable for a good part of the year with it being pretty cold or extremely hot outside in Leavenworth. But that doesn’t mean that you can keep opening the door into the small restaurant rooms to get the hosts attention. They will see you they will find you they will let you in. Okay thank you, that is all.

This place was really cute & the seating outside was refreshing! The service was great. The chicken fried steak was amazing & seasoned well but the European eggs Benedict was a little bland.

Cute and cozy inside. You may need to wait outside for a table. We visited on a Friday morning and waited 25 min. Lovely waitress was very friendly and helpful. We loved everything we ordered. Toast - ask for complimentary raspberry jam - it was heavenly.

The Cobb salad is yummy delicious!! Staff great. Earing outdoors is a nice way to enjoy the heated weather.

Louie's was highly rated for the food and it didn't disappoint. The approach to entering the restaurant was odd, yet efficient for staff, you may have to wait a little bit to enter. The food was well done, with seasoning, balance of flavor, and portions right on the money. This is not just sausage and eggs place either, good balance to the menu provided the appropriate options. One thing I was missing, hot chocolate. Gotta add it to the menu. The location was very simple but overall it was clean and straightforward.

Overall experience was excellent. Service was excellent. Everyone was warm and pleasant. Loved the menu. They also have a nice selection of drinks. I was feeling like the veggie omelette and potatoes my partner tried biscuits and gravy. The food came out quite quickly. Everything was very good. The potatoes were the best I have had on some time. Portions were large and we definitely ate more than we should have!! Inside was comfortable and clean.

Grocery store

Safeway is a well-established supermarket chain that offers a wide range of brand-name and house-label groceries, along with additional amenities such as a deli and bakery. Some locations are paired with gas stations, providing added convenience for customers. While some visitors appreciate the cleanliness and excellent service at certain Safeway stores, others have noted higher prices compared to other grocery options.
Loved this Leavenworth Safeway. The parking lot is a HOT MESS rn with some kind of construction, new entrances, paving. Very tight. Avoid parking in front, you'll never get outta the lot. The smart people parked on the west side and glided away while we were stuck behind lines to get out. Ice is ONLY $2.99 here.....wished I'd known that before buying at Haggens. They've got loads of coolers and camp chairs and summer toys above the freezer section for all those forgetful campers. Thanks for thinking of me!!!! Perfect!

The store is great. The food from the hot bar was probably the worst tasting food I’ve had. I wanted to like it… hadn’t eaten all day… couldn’t do it. ( we had the 2 people meal deal with Mongolian beef and walnut honey shrimp with chow mein and fried rice and two spring rolls.) not even the spring rolls were good.

I have got to say, every time I have an issue in this store it is quickly resolved. Today I dealt with a gentleman named Angel who made sure I was charged correctly and I just wanted to say thank you. You deserve a raise! Thank you for being so polite and courteous even though I was rushed and in a hurry!!!
Jessica W — Google review
Unfortunately, this is the only large grocery store in town. The box boy, I guess they are called courtesy clerks now, didn't even know how to bag my groceries correctly. I ended up having a leaking package of chicken soaking my cloth recyclable bag and having it drip on my vegetables which were placed in the same bag not to mention the other items that also became contaminated. Thankfully, when I took it back into the store, the manager on duty replaced the items and rebagged the leaking chicken into a separate bag.

9/9/2025 Around 12:30pm I AM AWARE THAT THIS COMPLAINT MAY GONE TO WASTE BUT IM STILL HOPING THAT THE MANAGEMENT OF SAFEWAY WILL TAKE ACTION.Serious matter about DISCRIMINATION/RACISM. VERY RUDE AND BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE Re:DELI STAFF NAMED LUPE (Guadalupe as per your Costumer Service Mayra) I immediately reported it to the customer service ( MAYRA) after we grab and paid our food. Me and my husband is celebrating our 20th Anniversary and this is our first time at Leavenworth. We are on our last day for a week stay at Leavenworth. It was perfect as I say everybody is happy until we visit Safeway Leavenworth. I would like to address this because it is not proper, it is unprofessional and I must say it is a bit “RACIST/DISCRIMINATION” This lady named LUPE was talking in Spanish to another customer which i have no problem with, she was warm and helpful to him. I waited like 5-10mins while they were talking. I am bilingual too so I was patient. When it was me and my husband turned to order for some reason, she obviously made face, rolled her eyes and twitching her mouth in short giving us attitude. What did we do????! I even called out the attention of other staff at Deli and told them that she was giving me an attitude. I completely understand how to react and deal with customers. My background is Hotel Events Management and Marketing/ Sales and currently I am ians my husband are both in Food Retail Industry as well. Her attitude is VERY UNACCEPTABLE and would create an impression that you tolerate this kind of discrimination. This is to highlight that if we were white or hispanic as well, we might have been treated differently much better. I would like to address this to the Management of Safeway though I know that it MIGHT just brush it off like your other complainants but since this is a DISCRIMINATION/ RACIST on our part and ruined our Honeymoon vacation mode, I believe I need to voice it out! At lease voice out that other customers will be aware and mindful on how your employees/ employee is behaving. If only we were white tourists, If only we were Hispanic tourists, we were be treated and served better. May your management will not normalize DISCRIMINATION/ RACISM.VERY VERY RUDE AND BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. It is a shame that we are both immigrants and yet she acted with zero respect yet so much entitlement. Btw, she was even spooning the mashed potato very angrily while rolling her eyes on the serving plate for us (like food for prisons) She said Have a good day in a sarcastic way. Thank you and I am hoping that u will take action towards it. GUADALUPE “LUPE” from the Virgin Mary’s Name in Mexico is VERY RUDE AND MEAN has no room in service industry if she will display that kind of attitude.,

The store is designed in traditional Bavarian style like all other buildings in town. Pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff. I found gas prices a bit cheaper at Safeway gas station that makes the grocery store is even attractive.

Cleanest Safeway I've been in. I could actually smell the departments.. Flower Dept smelled lovely, of fresh flowers. Butcher area DIDN'T stink of stale fish. Bakery smelled of fresh bread, Deli aroma like dinner. Everything is here you'd expect in a super store. Pharmacy, cards, wines, DVD rental. wide aisles.
Diana R — Google review
No one working the deli counter at 6pm on a Friday. No button to ring or summon anyone. The deli department has been an issue here for years and this is just embarrassing at this point. Went to to the customer service desk to complain and sure enough 3 employees (including the manager) are sitting there chatting with each other instead of working, while there is a line at the deli and a line at the hot food counter
