Ken's Artisan Bakery is a beloved local spot known for its fresh baked goods and French bistro offerings. The bakery offers a bustling, counter-serve setup where customers can enjoy an array of delectable treats. One standout item is the mini chocolate caramel croissant, which boasts a perfect balance of sweetness from the caramel and rich chocolate flavor.
All their baked goods are delicious. I used to go all the time when I lived in the neighborhood. It’s a true local gem. Now I make sure to stop by whenever I’m in Portland. Their sandwiches are amazing and the seasonal tarts are to die for. The strawberry tart tastes like heaven. I love Ken’s artisan bakery!❤️🍓🥖❤️

It's very close to the Washington Park and I walked in from the park. There are maybe bakeries to choose from. I like palmier so I ordered the one. It's the last one. Amazingly good. Both coffee and bakeries are reasonably priced and the staff are very kind and helpful. There are long table 8 and small round tables for two people. Big window and old fashion interior. I love here.

This bakery has been on my favorites for a while and I finally got around to trying it. It definitely lived up to my expectations. I got the seasonal vegetable quiche and it was soo good. My friend and I both got the Oregon croissant which was delicious. The ingredients and bread here are so fresh. You walk in and it smells amazing. However, it was definitely busy and had a line around 9:30am but I would wait for another pastry here anytime.

TLDR; amazing tarts, may probably have to take it to go since tables might not be available We came in late in the afternoon and just got a small mocha, an apple tart and a chocolate hazelnut tart between the two of us. We did get lucky enough to get a table because someone left as soon as we ordered but the place was absolutely FULL when we arrived! The coffee is nice - not too sweet (which is always an issue with mochas), not acidic, super smooth. Love that they have an 8oz size! The tarts were delicious too - I did like the apple tart more than the chocolate hazelnut (which surprised me) - the apple almond combination really was what did it for me! The chocolate one is still pretty nice too- again, not too sweet, very rich with a hint of bitterness. The crust on both was really good - broke easily, not dry, not soggy.

Our family stopped in at Ken’s Artisan Bakery and overall had a very solid experience. We ordered a variety of items to get a feel for the menu. The croissants were well-made with good texture and flavor — light, flaky, and satisfying. The ham, thyme, goat cheese, and Gruyere croissant in particular was excellent and stood out as the best item of the visit. I had the tuna salad sandwich, which was very good. The addition of pickled onion brought a bright, sharp contrast that elevated the whole sandwich. We also tried the grilled cheese, which was just okay — not bad, but something we probably wouldn’t order again. The pumpkin macarons were a hit with the kids, and we took home a few extras. One of the highlights for me was the coffee — genuinely some of the better coffee I’ve had. Rich flavor, smooth, and well-balanced. The only real drawback was the customer service, which felt a bit impersonal and transactional. Not rude, just not warm or welcoming. More of a “big city, stay in your lane, order and move along” feel. If you’re looking for a cozy, friendly small-town bakery vibe, this is not that. If you want excellent baked goods and quality coffee, this place delivers. Would return, especially for the croissants, macarons, and coffee.

Stopped by on a holiday for a bit of coffee and the hope of eating something delicious from the display case. While food was not to be - unless bread alone would suffice, then a handcrafted coffee became the tasty treat. The staff is positive and helpful. The space is cozy, by that I mean close quarters in a good way. If you are not vegan you are going to love the pastries and treats they offer! So many and so beautiful! If you are vegan they have a selection of breads to tempt you… My coffee - a latte with oat milk, a touch of their house made vanilla and cinnamon. The wait was a bit long but worth it as the coffee was hot and drinkable while being totally delicious! The four stars is because I felt left out of tasting the treats that made my mouth water just from looking at them 🤣🤣🤣

Here is a memory from my breakfast visit to Ken’s. A lady beside me is taking notes from a science book she is reading. A woman on the long table was crying, freshly wounded by the disclosure of a disappointment. Her two friends huddled her for comfort. My mother in front of me, looking radiant in the morning light while we slowly make our way through the goats cheese and leek croissant and the Oregon croissant whose tart filling perfectly encapsulate the chilly fresh air I breathed in my days here. A cup of mocha that is rich and whose vanilla bean fragrance wafts. Lines that snake to the entrance of people eagerly waiting for their pastries. It was nothing but warmth. And just like that, my morning is made.
Farid H — Google review
I can’t wait to go to Portland to eat here again. The sandwich had a perfect soft, airy and crust focaccia bread with ham, salami and cheese. We had a tasty blood orange tart and an almond croissant as well. I cannot recommend enough.

Bakery
Bakeshop is a trendy and stylish bakery located in Northeast Portland, known for its delectable array of pastries, breads, and specialty drinks. The bake shop prides itself on using whole-grain flours to create scones, cookies, pies, cakes, and more from scratch.
Smells incredible, friendly staff, cute but functional space. It's the type of place you swing by and pick up, not a place to linger. The pastries, especially the savory ones, and insanely good. Definitely worth a stop for the cheese straws alone.
Alyson R — Google review
I’m so mad that I didn’t try this bakery sooner than last year. All of the flaky pastries are perfectly crispy and buttery, including the strawberry + fig Parisian for which one of the employees brought the figs straight from her yard (I mean come on!!🥹). Needless to say it was sublime. There is such a wide selection of both sweet and savory pastries, I wish I had 3 stomachs to try them all.
Snacking S — Google review
All the workers here were very friendly and helpful but the food was meh. The wonder bun must’ve been days old because it was extremely hard and chewy even though I came in only an hour after opening. The quiche was decent but once again the crust was so hard I couldn’t even finish it. I’ve been to a lot of bakeries in Portland and this just didn’t satisfy, I expected better quality for the price.. probably won’t be back here again :(
Brayden R — Google review
Been going to this place for years, but it's been slipping lately. This morning, went in and ordered 4 croissants. Wasn't even busy at the time. Walked out with one of their small bags that was pretty full. Got home and discovered they only gave me 3 croissants (but charged me for 4). Called them up and they offered to refund one of them. Told them I'd prefer the 4th croissant. So, they said they'd set one aside for me. I go back in there to pick it up (which was obviously inconvenient and annoying to begin with) and they acted like I was interrupting them (even though it was their mistake in the first place). In trying to help them out in the future, I pointed out that 3 croissants barely fit in the bag they gave me and, if someone orders 4 croissants, they should put them in a box. The woman at the counter came across like I was being a nuisance. Didn't even apologize for messing up my order and having to come back in. When your pastries are that expensive, you should have better customer service.
John B — Google review
First time here tried a chocolate croissant and banana chocolate muffin (wheat free), both delicious. The location is very walkable and you can see all their current options from a window.
Brent P — Google review
Their croissants taste like paper. Expensive! Tastes lke nothing, slightly bland salt flavor with plain vegetable oil grease texture flavorless oil, no butter flavor or smell. No good bread smell. The bag literally has more flavor, l tried it too.
Planetpainter1 — Google review
As a savory pastry fan, I’m delighted by this shop. They have extremely tasty pastries. I also love their pain au chocolat. My favorite by far is their quiche. It’s the best I’ve ever had and I have tried everywhere and all over the US.
Kenna W — Google review
Sept 2025 Update: stopped by a few weeks ago and was astonished at the very high prices. I’ve been priced out at this shop so won’t be returning. The only reason I was lucky enough to find this place which is a tiny spot on Sandy was because my regular baker is closed for a remodel. Let me tell ya, this place has such delicious chocolate banana muffins they melt in your mouth! Also, the goat cheese and veg quiche is creamy and flavorful. Yummy croissants too. The gal at the counter was so sweet to me two days in a row when I was eager to try new things! My new fave bakery for sure.

Jinju Patisserie, established in 2019 by Jin Caldwell and Kyurim Lee, began as a wholesale chocolate business in Las Vegas before making its mark in Portland. The patisserie showcases an array of delectable treats such as buttery croissants, tarts, intricate desserts, and luxurious handmade chocolates. Situated in Northeast Portland's Humboldt neighborhood, it has gained recognition for offering some of the finest baked goods in the city.
Incredible! I tried the butter croissant and my husband had the one with meat and cheese. Absolutely delicious. We also tried the lemon cake and some of the chocolates. You must try the chocolate!! I would go back and stand in line just for the chocolate. It was the most delicious chocolate I’ve ever had.
Jen H — Google review
This place is a Gem! What do they say? Great things come in small packages! Owners are amazing as well. Location is so small for the amount of customers that they get hopefully they can eventually get a bigger space. I knew there was going to be a line when we had gone but I was not expecting that type of line where it wrapped around the corner! While in line there was a local who apparently hates how us “outsiders” come just because we heard about them on social media. The whole time she was trying to convince us to go to a different place. “It wasn’t worth waiting in line just for a couple things”. yet…She waited in line? I wasn’t about to listen to her crazy nonsense! Plus I was already committed. There was no way she was gonna convince me to leave and I’m glad I didn’t. Their pastries were amazing. I can’t wait to come back and have some more next time. I plan on spending more than what I did just cause it was that good ! I would highly recommend. And if I were you, don’t think one hour won’t make a difference it sure does if you can help it. Be there when they open. otherwise, that person that local person will take that last damn chocolate croissant.!
Lynn O — Google review
The pastries are indeed delicious, but the wait was quite long. I arrived around 8:30, and there were already at least 20 people in line. It took about 35 minutes before I finally got my order…Pairing it with a coffee from Either/Or next door was the perfect combo!
Estela L — Google review
This little bakery in Portland is filled with delicious treats and sweet surprises. The standout for me was definitely the carrot cake — rich, moist, and layered perfectly with smooth cream cheese frosting. The hazelnuts added just the right touch of texture and flavor. The croissants, though buttery, were a bit too flaky for my taste. I prefer mine to hold together instead of crumbling everywhere. Flavor felt a bit over baked. Golden brown please 🙏 The price point leans on the higher side, so be prepared to spend a little more — but if you appreciate quality pastries, it’s worth the treat. Overall: Good spot for desserts, especially the carrot cake. 🥕
Austin J — Google review
Fantastic! The awards are well deserved. We sampled a wide range of the offerings, and they were all top notch (and good coffee to boot). The line wasn't too long on a Friday morning at 8am, maybe 20 minutes. But it would be worth an even longer wait. Definitely will make it a point to get over there, this is a gem.
J B — Google review
I’m so glad you were my Google suggestion when I searched bakeries! Croissants will never be the same & the bar has been raised. I can honestly say I’ve never seen one that was bigger than my hand. Thought I would eat a part of it & save the rest, but I couldn’t stop! Your cases look beautiful, clean & service was exceptional! I could have eaten them all. I’ll be back next time I’m in Portland.
Sandra V — Google review
I recommend arriving early as it does get very busy. We had the chocolate croissant and cinnamon orange morning bun. Both were so delicious. We also had the coconut passion fruit dessert and it was so light. Very flavorful.
Loly M — Google review
- Twice Baked Pistachio Raspberry Croissant: Might be the best croissant I’ve ever had. The croissant needs no introduction. But to be able to stay flaky, toasty, and crisp after having the pistachio paste has been applied on the bread is beyond me. The stronger flavor of the two, will be the raspberry due to the tartness from the fruits and jam-like syrup. Not to worry, there is plenty of pistachio to be had, from the raw paste inside the croissant, the paste baked on top of the croissant, and nuts as garnish. The baked nuts bring a nutty, toasty flavor, though few, so savor every bite you get with them. The balance of the flavors, with each component bringing different ‘flavor bombs’, paired with the OG Jinju croissant is every pistachio x croissant lovers dream. 9.2/10 - Pumpkin Pie Tart: A piece of art, made with attention to detail. The pumpkin was well balanced in texture with the right amount of ‘mush’, without making the breadcrumb soggy. The flavor of the pumpkin pie was rich with cinnamon. There’s a crust layered underneath the pumpkin, and it’s almost like a toffee crust? I couldn’t quite identify what it was, but it made every bite explode with different texture and flavor. One critique would be that the cream was a bit overwhelming. I think for most people, it’s fine, but for me, I had to leave some left over. 9/10 - Butter Croissant: A staple. If I could get one every week, I would. This croissant is so flaky & crispy on the outside, with a velvety, warm, soft feel on the inside. Again, it seems like the overlying theme with the pastries that are baked and served here is a perfect balance in texture and flavor. No one texture or flavor is front and center, but they all work as a team to build a great experience in every bite that is rare to find. 10/10

Restaurant
Baker & Spice, located in the Hillsdale suburb, is a small-batch bakery and cafe that has become a beloved community hub. Established by owner Julie Richardson in 2005, this charming spot offers an array of delectable treats. From the irresistible coconut cream pie to the old-fashioned cakes and addictive chocolate shortbread cookies, there's something for every sweet tooth.
I had visited this bakery a few times now and have never been disappointed! Grab a number for the cue when you enter and peruse among all the sweet and savory treats they offer until your number is called. They have baked bread, sandwiches, sweet and a few savory desserts and decent coffee. This is definitely a local shop I keep coming back to! Definitely will recommend !

Great bakery right in the heart of hillsdale village! They have become a local favorite for many years now with awesome bread, sandwiches and especially pastries! Their crumb cake is iconic and sticky buns are epic! Their Katie bun is a personal favorite - like a croissant with a hint of sweet! Take home some shortbread cookies for later too

This place makes great pastries. It is a hit with kids, naturally. You can order online and pick at a different line. I wish they had more breakfast sandwiches options but I don’t think I could bare the line if they did.

Anytime I find myself nearby ( we live about 25 minutes away) , I make a beeline for Baker and Spice to load up on their delicious breads (we are addicted to the sandwich loaf). They have a super solid selection of both sweet and savory pastries, cakes, and excellent take and bake biscuits. The best bakery I have tried in SW PDX.
Dawn B — Google review
I adore this little bakery! So happy to have them in Hillsdale. Things I love include (but are not limited to) their chocolate croissants, Katie buns, sandwich cookies, grab and go sandwiches, and fruit tarts.
Tina C — Google review
Their sandwich cookies are one of the best treats I’ve had from a bakery in a long while! Totally worth the price! So far, I’ve tried a few of the flavors, and I am never disappointed.
Danette P — Google review
When you walk in, you have to take a number and wait for it to be called. That system caused a bit of confusion since it was pretty loud inside and hard to hear when numbers were being announced, so things got a little out of order but it was quickly and easily fixed. The pastries were excellent! There’s a nice selection of sweet options. We had the biscuit and egg, which was very good—the biscuit was moist and fluffy. We also tried the honey cream tart and caramel cheesecake; the cheesecake was super good and the cream tart was light and airy. One of the downsides is the seating. The tables are quite small and a little uncomfortable, but overall it’s a great spot for pastries and a quick bite.

Little T American Baker is a charming bakery known for its artisanal bread, delectable pastries, and gourmet sandwiches. The owner and head baker, Tim Healea, infuses his creations with passion and expertise, resulting in accolades for his outstanding baked goods. The cozy outpost in the Union Way market hall offers a warm and inviting atmosphere to enjoy their delightful treats. Customers rave about the friendly staff and recommend arriving early to ensure you don't miss out on their popular items.
I've been coming here for years but had a little hiatus before returning recently. They've always been adventurous in their baking approach & flour choices but right now I think they're at their height of flavor and skill. Beautiful lamination, thoughtful seasonal specials, and I appreciate that they offer both baked goods and substantial & delicious breakfast and lunch options. A treat!

This is becoming one of my favorite bakeries in the city!🫶🏼 Great variety of baked goods. I love how they source the best quality ingredients from small local brands like Ranger Chocolate Co. and Jacobsen Salt which makes their products taste extra special✨. The croissant is tender, flaky, and buttery; the brownie is soft and rich; the coffee cake is hearty and indulgent; and the peanut brittle cookie is crispy, chewy and addictive! I‘ve been here twice so far and loved everything I ordered except for the coffee (from Puff) which tastes burnt. Will be back for breads and pretty much every other pastry 👌🏼
Snacking S — Google review
I really want to love this bakery because their rustic bread is excellent — when it’s available. Unfortunately, every time I visit, usually around 9-10 AM (a time when it’s supposed to be ready), they’re consistently out of it. What’s most disappointing isn’t just that the bread isn’t ready, but that the staff never make an effort to check when it will be available. Instead of simply walking a few steps to the back or giving an estimate, they just say, “It’s not out yet.” On several occasions, I’ve had to ask multiple people to get even the smallest bit of information. When you ask for something and they give you something else and you go back and return it, they don’t even say simple “ Excuse Me” nor a word of apology. Good customer service isn’t just about having great products — it’s about taking that extra step to help customers. I don’t expect miracles, just a bit of initiative or communication. When I’ve tried to express my frustration, it’s been brushed off, as if I’m the problem for asking. This could easily be a five-star experience if the staff took a little more care to keep customers informed and valued. I hope management pays attention, because the bread really is worth coming for — if only the service matched the quality of the baking. I honestly hope that this place will close their doors to walk-in traffic and continue selling wholesale to other places in town like Providore Food where you interact with more professional and customer service focuced staff.

Hands down the best quality bread in the Portland metro area. It reminds me of what you get at good bakeries in Germany. Two things: 1. Provide reusable (for here) plates, cups, and utensils 2. Open up a downtown Vancouver (WA) location!!
Jason C — Google review
The best baguette outside of France! I don't know how they do it, but these have the wonderful taste and texture of genuine French bread that doesn't dry out overnight. My only wish is that the bakery was open past 2pm at least one day a week, pretty please?! It's so difficult to get to the wonderful bread and other baked delights with such restricted daytime hours.
Clair F — Google review
Bread is excellent , however baguettes are *always* burnt. Pastries are good. The glass case where pastries are displayed almost always have flies around it. Not a good thing in the food industry. An enclosed glass case to prevent that wouldn’t be a bad idea. Service is awful, the male employees are unprofessional and rude. Everyone can have a bad day, but when their bad attitude happens often and with different staff, something needs to be done.

My goodness do they know what they’re doing here! One of the best coffee cakes I’ve ever had. Also in love with the tomato jam breakfast sandwich. Thank you for being a SE neighborhood staple, lil T!

We got a box of pastries including a pound cake, croissants, and a scone. We loved each of them and will be coming back when the weather is better and we’re not walking back with a soggy rain-laden box. Looking forward to trying some breakfast options as well.

Founded by Hiro Horie, who has 25 years of experience with a major Japanese baking company, this bakery infuses traditional Japanese flavors with influences from the Pacific Northwest.
Japanese Breads, you pick what you want and fill up your tray. Took us a second to figure out how it works and then from there we managed to pick quite a bit! We enjoyed them all. Some more than others but even then really nice place! We will be back 😊

fun experience and cute shop! lots of tasty treats to try; will definitely come back for the cheesecake. i didn't end up liking the chocolate cream inside the .. caterpillar? but i'm also not big on cream. the bread was delectably soft though 🤤 drinks and sandwiches are good too!
Taylor F — Google review
Best bakery ever! There's so many amazing savery and sweet pastries with things like Japanese curry filling or red bean paste, as well as others with jalapeno and cheese, chocolate coronets, pumpkin with cream cheese, and so many amazing options for so cheap!
Jarod G — Google review
Wow.. cant express how good each and every item that I bought was. It reminded me so much of when I went to Japan. I’m glad it’s nearby so I can get my fix! Loved the salt bread, matcha melon pan, and egg cucumber sandwich. I will be back here as soon as I possibly can to try new items and to have some repeats. ☺️

Really good pastries, the tea was delicious too! The facility is clean and staff is so friendly. Could use a bit of decorating, very simple looking café but the food is what matters most and its VERY good.

My favorite place in Portland! The best tasties I’ve ever had!!! I travel all the way from the coast to specially get their an pan and edamame curry pan…. 🤤🤤 like nothing I’ve ever tasted before….its mouth watering and life changing; I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!!!!!!!! TASTY!!!😝

I LOVE THIS PLACE, if you come try their custard filled bread (the one with cute little eyes)! It's to die for! They also have a few selections in the morning for sandwiches priced at about 4.25 for half a tonkatsu and somewhere around $8 for a whole one.

Great (mostly) authentic Japanese bakery goods. Does cater somewhat to American/ethnic tastes for some products without impacting the authentic items and everything tastes great. Their anpan and melonpan are perfect representations of tradition, while the edamame curry donuts are great twists for vegans.

Tabor Bread is a beloved bakery located in the North of Portland, known for its artisanal breads and baked goods. The bakery takes pride in using organic, locally sourced ingredients and a whole grain commitment to create unique sourdough loaves with subtle flavors. Their slow fermentation process results in exceptional quality and rich depth of flavor. Tabor Bread's location in the Mt.
I love their bagels and berry suisse. I put fried eggs and lettuce on the cheese herb bagel and it’s the perfect breakfast sandwich. Haven’t dined in but the atmosphere is cozy.

Firstly, the bread is phenomenal! As a pastry and sourdough lover, their food is SO good! Their staff are also incredibly kind and take their time with each and every customer, ensuring that you're getting all of the best snacks and not having to rush past anything. Every item is described in detail when asked about and the staff are incredibly knowledgeable about what they are serving! I have heard a lot about this place before going, and expected the establishment to be very expensive due to the quality being so renowned. However, this was not the case! Even the large, fresh loaves were astonishingly reasonable! 10/10 will ABSOLUTELY be returning! **Keep in mind that this is a local and handmade establishment! BE KIND, they're great people! Come here with a little time to spare and a great attitude. As the line will move quickly once you are in it, but can look deceivingly long from outside. **
Katherine M — Google review
If you are a sourdough lover you will probably love this place! But I am not and I wish I knew they used sourdough for pretty much everything (or so it seems). Got a baguette and it had strong sourdough flavor. The croissant and pain de suisse also seemed to have a sourdough base… I just didn’t really want the sour taste and wish they would have let me know which pastry uses sourdough and which doesn’t. Who knows maybe all of them do. Also prices are pretty high as is… auto 15% is wild!

This might be the best bakery/boulangerie in Portland! The quality of their flour and wood fired baking truly speaks at every bite. We have tried both savory and sweet pastries along with the baguette - all 10/10. What is more, their espresso drinks are phenomenal and true café quality. The staff is very welcoming. All in all it’s a must go bakery in Portland.

Such a great local bakery. They source local flour and breads are wonderful. The peach brioche was fabulous. I had coffee and purchased a loaf of bread to go! I’ll be back for sure.

Seriously delicious and unique bakery. We had the bagels, passion fruit tart, and mini donuts. All great quality and melt in your mouth. One of my favorite bakeries from our travels. It is expensive but the love and time invested in these baked goods is obvious.

Bought a brioche breakfast and baguette. Tried getting their sandwiches but they were out around 9am. Baked goods were good. Pour over was standard. Coming back to try other baked goods.
Hidekel L — Google review
They are really really good!!! The baguette was fresh. Crunchy but soft inside and the loafs were nice as well. Good moisture content inside. Perfect to toast or make a sandwich. Pro tip: get a jacket to stand in the queue as it can stretch to outside of store...

Nuvrei is a chic and stylish bakery located in the Pearl District, offering a delightful selection of French pastries, croissants, cookies, and macarons. The owner and patissier, Marius Pop, showcases refined French techniques in crafting their flakey croissants and an array of pastries. The bakery also features a Mac Bar in the basement where customers can indulge in an inventive showcase of Nuvrei's wonderful macarons.
The reviews weren't wrong! Wonderful pastries and excellent coffee. A small, cozy, spot with a very upscale vibe. Enjoyed an almond croissant, and a lemon scone. Both were very good, and the coffees were spot on! Very impressive, staff were friendly and quick also!
Adam D — Google review
I have high standards for croissants. This place did not meet them. The rose croissant sounds good in theory but it tastes just like a plain croissant with a sweet glaze that is dyed pink. When we got the rose croissant and lemon poppyseed scone at 1pm on a Friday, the croissant itself had lost all of its flakiness and was just soggy. The scone was also dry after sitting out all day. I cannot recommend the pastries here.
Jenny — Google review
Sweetest petite bakery with so many options. The staff were welcoming and gave me suggestions on items but also what to do locally. They also have cookie mix and granola for takeaway. I ordered the mocha and pistachio croissant, both were excellent. I appreciate the attention to detail and high quality experience. I forgot to take a photo of my mocha.
Hazel C — Google review
Visited Nuvrei today for the first time with a friend and it exceeded expectations. It has a almost hole in the wall appearance from the outside but once you enter you’re greeted with a cozy vibe. The design is very attractive and all the pastries are laid out in front of you. There is not much seating which is the only downside. I loved all the different options for croissants and baked goods. The drink options were fairly unique as well. We tried the regular croissant, rose croissant, and the pistachio croissant all of which were fantastic. Very flaky, light, and fresh. The drinks were great as well. I had the mocha which tasted great. Pricing is certainly on the higher end and standard for Portland. Overall, highly recommend this place. It may be more of a takeout spot as it isn’t a large establishment and seating is limited.

Nuvrei in Portland is recommended for anyone who loves pastries and good coffee. The display cases are overflowing with freshly baked croissants, tarts, and inventive treats—everything we tried was delicious and beautifully crafted. Their coffee is equally impressive as well. What really sets Nuvrei apart is the space itself. Floor‑to‑ceiling windows flood the café with natural light, and the thoughtful lighting fixtures create a warm, inviting atmosphere. This place delivers on both taste and ambiance. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in town!

Outstanding!!!! Prices reasonable Restrooms 🚻 available. Handicap ♿️ doable...be aware there's a small flight of stairs to get up to the Nuvei bakery cafe . Final take......indulge in the best!!! Lauretta Jean's is a delightful bakery and cafe located in Southeast Portland, known for its seasonal handmade pies with light, flaky crusts and delectable fillings like tart cherry, salted pecan, and chocolate-banana cream. Originally starting as a stall at the Saturday Farmers Market at PSU, it has now become a charming brick-and-mortar establishment.
If you have time to spare and don't mind waiting in line, the pies are pretty good. We tried the lemon bar, strawberry short pie, and the boysenberry peach pie! Lemon bar was quite zesty and delicious and the cream on the strawberry short pie was flavorful and light. Pie slices were $7 a piece and the store had such cute decor! Huge variety of flavors and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

This Division Street hot spot is definitely pie heaven. The Heirloom Apple a la mode and pumpkin pie did not disappoint. Loved the blueberry scone as well. The staff were very kind and happy to answer questions. There is a fair amount of indoor and outdoor seating. ⚠️ Closed on Tuesdays.

I consider myself a bit of a pie connoisseur (I have a dream to open a pie shop)! This place was amazing! Small, quaint, popular, with lots of selection of delicious pies (by the slice, whole, even some hand pies) in traditional and seasonal varieties, and a few other baked goods (their cookies were scrumptious)! Thank you, Lauretta Jean’s! We will be back!
Mark J — Google review
My friend and I went here because its close by and the food and coffee were both very good. We each got a slice of the tomato and mozzarella quiche (warmed) and it was very delicious. I also got a caramel cappuccino wirh their salted honey pie (which is on the sweeter side), and she got a latte. The order took a bit to come out, but it wasn't the worst. There was a line outside to get in during their busier times so be mindful of that.
Ellie P — Google review
My absolute favorite is the blueberry Victoria. It’s blueberry compote, cream, and a lemon custard, with a thin cake layer. It’s magic, their signature. Also have had and loved their blackberry raspberry streusel, chocolate banana pie, and seasonal peach pie. Can’t go wrong with any of them.

I'm a sucker for pie and this was probably the best pies I've had in a really long time!!! So fresh and delicious I needed more room in my belly to eat more but it was the perfect end to our dinner. Most definitely will be back!

This place has been on my list to visit for some time now, and I was so excited to finally make it there. The pie is absolutely delicious! I started off with ordering a slice with ice cream and ended up having to get 2 slices to go! The pie traveled well back home with me, and I can't wait to make it back to Portland to try more flavors.

I saw this spot on my way to dinner and figured if there’s a line out the door, it must be good. I got the classic pumpkin, lemon bar, key lime, cookie, and a hot apple cider. Great gluten free bakery! Vegetarian pizza was incredibly good, and the sesame bagel made me feel like I was eating gluten again.

The cinnamon rolls here are incredible and I am still thinking about them. My husband and I both had the bagel sandwich with ham and loved the bagels so much we bought some to take home. We also tried the brownie and the coffee cake - both were really good but the hero was really the cinnamon roll. Being a dedicated gluten free kitchen - it allowed me to order anything I wanted and that’s not a feeling I get often. Not to be missed - gluten free or not.
Kelsey K — Google review
As someone who can't eat gluten, it's really hard for me to satisfy my cravings. But this place is amazing. I've been searching forever for a gluten-free donut that isn't just cakey, and I finally found it here. It's light, airy, and slightly chewy. I had the pizza here a while ago, and if I hadn't known that everything was gluten-free, I would've gone back to make sure they didn't accidentally give me the wrong pizza! I think about this place all the time.
Bronwyn B — Google review
Great food but the service is questionable. They don’t allow substitutions which is interesting for a restaurant branded by accommodation. We went in on a Sunday when it was packed and it took an hour to get our food, which was fine because it was so delicious. We went back early the following day and the restaurant was empty. We ordered the breakfast bagel and tried to add a beyond patty, but they only allow you to add a beyond patty on the vegan version and ham on the regular. We tried to order side of beyond patty separately and they wouldn’t sell it because the register didn’t have a button for it. Just very odd. The choices are mostly vegan or meat+cheese and you can’t simply take meat off or switch out a cheese option. When they say no substitutions they mean it so just keep that in mind.

Flavor explosion alert! I stopped into New Cascadia Traditional and my taste buds are still doing a happy dance. I started with dessert (because why not?) — the rhubarb muffin — and oh. my. goodness. Soft, tangy, a little sweet, perfectly balanced. It was straight-up amazeballs. Then came the Biancaneve Pizza, and wow…😋. Every bite was this perfect, mouth-watering combo of creamy ricotta, melty mozzarella, smoky provolone, roasted garlic, parmesan, and just the right kick of pepper flakes. Total flavor explosion. The crust was crisp and chewy in all the right ways — honestly, I couldn’t stop eating it. New Cascadia knocked it out of the park. If you’re anywhere near Portland and want food that’s both gluten-free and insanely good, this place is where it’s at. I’ll definitely be back for another round!
Gerty W — Google review
Delicious and juicy and moist gluten-free bagel! I got the breakfast bagel sandwich and i really felt so grateful to find this place. It’s so rare that you find an actually good gluten-free restaurant where the food tastes like real food… but this place scratches that itch so well and makes me feel so happy. I also got the cinnamon Coffee cake and it was really fluffy and delicious. Highly recommend.

We went there for gluten free meals recommended by some friends. The pizza was really good, and it didn’t taste like any other gluten free ones that we had in the past. We had a chance to chat with the person working who was helpful in explaining different menu items. We went back again so my wife could get pizza one more time. Highly recommended!

I recently visited for a friend’s birthday and we had a wonderful experience. I was able to get in contact with the owner, Matt, to reserve a table in advance. They had reservation signs especially made and set out for us, and were so accommodating the entire time. The food and coffee is always incredible, and we will definitely be returning!

I was visiting Portland for two nights this week, and stayed at a hotel close to Lovejooy Bakers. I stopped in for a quick bite on my way to Powell's Books. I ordered a salad, a hot tea, and a pastry. The two women working there were very warm and friendly. I came back the next day near closing time. I was hoping to get another salad but didn't want to inconvenience them if they were closing up. They let me know they were here to make sure people got fed and had what they needed up until the minute of closing. I felt very welcomed and really enjoyed the setting. I would visit often if I lived in the area. It just felt like such a safe and comforting place.
Aaron C — Google review
Unfriendly staff, almost as if I was bothering them by ordering. Overpriced for what I received. Not worth it. Chocolate croissant not even heated, so pretty much unedible.
Shannon D — Google review
The staff here is bizarrely rude. I had two points of interaction, one with the red headed barista when ordering and one with the girl with black hair and piercings that was dropping off food. Both were so incredibly rude and seemed to have a chip on their shoulder with everyone who talked through the doors. The barista rolled her eyes and just blankly stared at me when I got to the counter and when I tried greeting her I was met with a very quick, dismissive and rude response. I should have taken this as my sign to leave but thought I’d just take my food to go instead. That was a mistake, I wish I had just left instead of spending my money here. The girl bringing out my food was just as rude. The coffee wasn’t bad, but it was lukewarm. The sandwich was good, but overpriced. I had walked a few blocks to get to this cafe and was given my to go order in a thin, crumbled bag with no handle. I asked if I could have one of the to-go bags (idk why I didn’t get one in the first place) and was perplexed by how rude and demeaning the girls response was, asking if I really needed “another bag” and making a show of it being a burden to get. I used to be close with one of the regulars here, but they stopped coming due to how rude the staff has become. I’ve made up my mind to do the same- I won’t be returning after that visit.
Theresa — Google review
I really loved the vibe here! The coffee was GOOD - as I’m still a rich coffee flavor but without sacrificing the flavor of the syrup I chose (cardamom). For food, I had the egg tapenade sandwich and a cookie - both were satisfying in the way that they weren’t huge but still kept me full for hours. I also really enjoyed seeing how comfortable other customers were and how lively the staff were. It’s a true community here and brightened up my whole week
B — Google review
I had a drip coffee that was meh, but the avocado toast was pretty good - the bread was definitely the highlight. The girl at the counter was curt and rude, which is why I gave a 2 star rating for the service, if I'm going to pay 8 bucks for avocado toast please be polite. I overheard other staff who didn't seem to possess the same intolerant attitude. The atmosphere is conducive to working or studying, not ideal for socializing.

Amazing 100% gluten free + vegan place …. Their coffee crumble was amazing. They also have coffee, sandwiches, and ice creams. Not gonna lie, I was looking through some of my old photos from our trip to Oregon last year and saw some pictures I took from Petunia’s pastries and just had to share how much I wish I lived in Oregon so I can have some of their pastries every day. SERIOUSLY, so good. We actually went there two days in a row before leaving the state bc we loved it so much. We were so excited bc they had fresh donuts that weekend (fried!!!! not baked!!finally!!) and omg they left me drooooolin. Their cinnamon rolls are heavenly! I think they were about to run out too so we had luck getting one! We also had a biscuit sandwich and I still remember how crumbly and buttery it was. I believe we had an Apple fritter as well which seriously blew my mind. Lol being vegan and gluten free, this is literal heaven. It’s SO hard to find vegan and gluten free things that actually taste good and have a good texture. Can’t wait to go back and visit for more. Greetings from Chicago!!

A super cute and delicious pastry shop that serves gluten-free pastries. They also have ice cream breakfast foods and a variety of drinks. I went in October and they had up Halloween decorations. A vegan paradise in the heart of Portland! Petunia's Pies & Pastries is a dream come true! From the moment you walk in, it feels like stepping into a little slice of heaven — warm, welcoming, and filled with the most delicious scents. Everything is 100% vegan and gluten-free. The flavors are incredible! I tried a few items (because how could I choose just one?) and every bite was perfection. The pastries are as beautiful as they are tasty, and the staff is kind and helpful. Whether you're vegan or not, you must visit this sweet little paradise. Petunia’s has officially stolen my heart!

Food- To start off I am not on a gluten free diet. I just came here cause it was close to Tanaka just next door. I tried one smores cupcake which was like basically $6 already. But I was like why not. That first bite threw me way off so quick. The frosting is soooo unbelievably sugary. And this is coming from someone who can handle "Crumbl" cookies. The cupcake was legit half frosting half cake. Its honestly just too much. Now the cake part is alright, tasted like chocolate. Its honestly just the frosting that has got to go. Service- The service was nice and quick.

Gluten free and vegan? Heaven on my tastebuds. I was excited to try this bakery and had them bookmarked. While walking around I noticed I wasn't too far away and dropped in for some baked goodies. The bakery is beautiful and inviting from the outside. The staff were all helpful and friendly, which is always a plus when patronizing a business. I opted for their pecan roll and the bday cupcake to go (because it smh bday)! I loved, loved my roll. I wished it could have been warmed up for that extra umph! It's been such a long time since I had the pleasure of enjoying baked goods that I wasn't scared would make me sick later. I also enjoyed their loose leaf black tea that was delicious without anything added. I would highly recommend even if you're not gluten or vegan.

We got their Rasher Egg and Cheese English Muffin with tomato. It tasted good and healthy. I didn't know the tomato was extra $3 charge. The sandwich is definitely not worth $12.80 so skip the tomato. We tried some of their other pastries and sourdough and they were all very good.

I was disappointed. The only thing that was yummy and worth the price was the pumpkin muffin, which I would get again. But.. The Bacon and egg croissant was dry and overcooked. The salmon sandwich; the bread was good. But it was soggy ish from the slaw and could hardly tell there was cream cheese on it. The coffees was delicious. Bathroom was dirty and needed a deep cleaning. Staff was super sweet. We spent close to $50 not worth it.

This is a cute bakery with very solid food and drink offerings. Bread looked amazing and they had lots of variety. If you’re not ordering, and if you are a person with my complexion, don’t expect good customer service. It’s so obviously painful that I almost walked out to never return. As a Delivery Driver, being out on the road is a lot, so it means everything to just be treated with kindness when going into any establishment. Also it took them forever to complete the order. Normally I don’t leave reviews but I am today because this isn’t the first time this has it happened. Hope that the managers see this and create a better system, or notify their team to at-least do better! Delivery Service Partner or not… we’re working for you, helping your company make more money. It would be nice for your employees to respect that.

The Muffin was really good as was the bread on our sandwiches. However the sandwiches themselves were just ok. The bacon and egg croissant was a tad overcooked and had not much seasoning or any sauce. Their salmon Sandwich. I wanted to like it. Idk. It was close but just off for me. They weren't bad. Just kinda so so.

Pretty straight forward brunch and lunch menu sandwiches. Their baked goods (breads and pastries) are their highlight. I had the turkey chutney with a dill pickle which was fresh, tasty, and fulfilling. I had a pecan pull apart pastry which is super delicious with their coffee. I would defintely come back again. All this for less than $20. Service is fast, nice, and attentive. The atmosphere is clean, well kept, uptodate with wooden fixtures, and busy. I saw people doing work and it wasn’t too loud that you couldn’t have a conversation. There is also outside seating. Tables are big enough for a party as large as 4. I will defintely come back. Parking is tough (this is the down side) and your best bet is to scour the neighborhood for a spot (thus a 4 for atmosphere instead of 5).

We got two sandwiches, the happy goat and veggie grinder, side salad, a fontina pull-apart & a pecan pull-apart, and a soda and chai. Both of the sandwiches were super good, loved the happy goat. The veggie grinder was good but the baguette was hard this day. The pastries were a little hard/dry too, esp the pecan pull-apart. The caramelized sugar on top had really hardened. We were understanding bc it was end of day for them. The chai was semi sweet and nicely spicy. The greens in the side salad were fresh and the dressing was good. Really enjoyed the cozy space on a rainy Portland day. But I've had baked goods from grand central before that were way better than what we had this day, so that was slightly disappointing. Still a good spot for a light lunch. Stopped into ecovibe next door afterwards for some shopping.

Bella's Italian Bakery is a must-visit spot for anyone in the area for its large selection of delicious baked goods, excellent espresso drinks and wine selection, and charming atmosphere. All of the bakery's offerings are made with real ingredients and there's something for everyone to enjoy.
Wow… wow, I mean this spot is fantastic. The display case alone has your moth watering . The service is fast and friendly. Coffee was good. I would like to see flavor options like rose or cardomom for the latte, yet honey was perfect. When I saw the lobster claw pastrie I was smitten! I can’t think of anyplace else in Ptown you can get fresh made cannoli ? I was ready for the flavor extraviganza immediatly. The ham and cheese breakfast croissant was out of this world. I’m seriously ruined, I’ll never be able to look at a ham and cheese croissant ever again! I took several goodies to go and nothing was disappointing. I mean nothing. I’m really surprised that there was an a line out the door waiting to get into this place this morning at 8 AM. There were people sitting chatting. They play like a really nice Light area, French and Italian music. Don’t miss out on this spot. It is a hidden gem!

Great little coffee shop for breakfast. The egg sandwich teasted great. I also got a London Fog. There are only a few tables, but if you able to sit, it's very cozy. The staff were all friendly.

This has been my go-to bakery for Italian pastries whenever I stop by in Portland. It's a small space but great to pick up something tasty on the go. Good coffee too.

Don’t sleep on this place! Bella’s is legit one of Portland’s gems! Quality ingredients and products. Sweet or savory…they got you. Coffee drinks are on point. Frankly…I don’t need anything else for my weekend splurge (or weekday, or both)….take my money Bella’s. I will be returning often. Oh…I ordered the ham and cheese cornetto and a cappuccino. Fire. Took home a variety of pastries. Impossible to choose.

Bella's is the best thing about Portland. I live far from her but I will go way out of my way to go to Bella's for her pastries, coffee, pizza dough, etc.. I've been a fan of everything Michelle has crafted since her Farmer's Market/traveling catering days and she's only flourished in every way since then. I'm sitting enjoying my breakfast of all my fan favorites and had to express my gratitude in this moment cause it's just the best stuff I've ever consumed. God bless this gorgeous establishment!

Dear Bella, You made our first time so special! We got a little tour and a "welcome!" from all who helped us. For those who are looking for a little nibble for lunch, try the Veggie Pie. Yummy and perfect size for 2 people for our little lunch needs. (Sandos looked GREAT). Cool/healthy spin on pizza if I do say. (Comes in slices, half, or full. Full could feed 2 looking for a little more lunch). Little Treat: Two cannoli (FANTASTIC and probably best in Portland). Our Lobster Tail was so good! (had it the next day) I'll finish saying that we probably could have eaten everything in the store, because everything was fresh and looked great! Coffee: Delicious. Staff: Adorable, kind, and happy. Would recommend. Love, Us

If one could fall in love with a Bakery, this place would be it. Every item I ordered tasted amazing, wonderfully Italian, and made with high quality ingredients (+passion !). The Sfogliatelle Ricce or lobster tail is super flaky and could make you feel like an Italian aristocrat! The custard filling has light almond flavor, not too right, and just enough sweetness to make you go ooohhhh and aaahh while pairing it with my Cortado. I grabbed the oat+fig bar and almond cookies as well... Enjoyed every last bite of the bar and still enjoying my cookies at home. Staff is really nice and quirky, which makes it very Portland! Interior is cozy and decorated like an Italian country side with all their antique country home items. Few seating areas inside, and lots more outside for you to enjoy the weather.

Farina Bakery is a delightful bakeshop located in Portland, Oregon. The bakery offers an array of delectable treats including colorful macarons, custom cakes, and various pastries. Founded by talented baker Laura Farina, the bakery has gained popularity for its exquisite macarons which are available in a variety of flavors, some of which change with the seasons. The charming and whimsical bakeshop also provides an opportunity to place special bulk orders for events or gatherings.
Hidden gem! This bakery deserves a much higher rating than the others nearby. I’ve tried several similarly rated coffee shops in the area, but this one stands out by far. They offer a wide variety of pastries — not just sweet options like you might expect from google map, but also delicious savoury ones. The almond croissants, and savory pop tarts, are a must-try, and the coffee is a generous size and great quality. There’s also a lovely seating area both inside and outside. Highly recommend — this place should absolutely be rated higher!

Didn’t know I loved macarons until I tried one from Farina Bakery! It was really hard to choose just one from the delicious flavors they offer. I tried the horchata macaron and the mini marionberry poptart. YUM. The poptart was a perfect balance of sweet and tart from the berries and it was truly a taste of Oregon. The macaron had the classic soft-chewy texture with delicious toasted cinnamon flavor. There was plenty of seating inside and I loved the wall murals and colorful decorations. It was not crowded at 11am on a Sunday but a lot of the baked goods behind the glass were already gone, so I’d recommend visiting earlier in the morning. I also had a cup of English Breakfast tea which paired nicely with my treats. A macaron, a poptart, and a cup of tea all for just $10! I will be back to try more soon!

Super cute & clean location with lots of yummy options and places to sit or work on things. Whether dining in or getting it delivered, it’s always packaged/presented with such care. I highly recommend the cream puff or the animal cookie macaron. The staff was nice as well. Julia went above and beyond to make it a great experience and was so helpful! I highly recommend this bakery.

Super cozy spot in the neighborhood with delightful pastries options. Came on an evening where there was live jazz. The musicians were amazing. Definitely worth a visit.

The selection looks amazing. The macarons are well made. The creampuff and cheese cake was delicious. Unfortunately, the frosting was a heavy, dense buttery flavor.I couldn't eat half of the cupcake as it broke apart and all that was left was a pile of the unflattering frosting. I'd stick with the other items and definitely the macarons.

I ordered a dozen cupcakes easily through their online menu. It was clearly communicated that any edits or additions must be submitted 48 hours before the pick up or delivery date. I emailed them to add another dozen cupcakes and they responded quickly, invoiced me and made the payment process easy. All the guests loved the cupcakes. I got specific compliments on both the cake and frosting. I will absolutely order from Farina again.

AMAZING! I ordered a custom cake for my husbands birthday and it was absolutely perfect. Everyone I interacted with by phone and email was great and the process was so easy. I sent a few inspiration photos and the cake design was spot on. The taste was amazing, one of the best chocolate cakes we’ve ever had. We loved the chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and chocolate ganache. Could not recommend more! My only issue now is that I live across the country from this bakery because I want to try everything!

Visiting from Virginia! This was the BEST ALMOND CROISSANT I've EVER had. It was so good I'm still thinking about it. Really crispy buttery outside with a layer of soft custard texture inside. Service was very quick, hot cocoa was absolutely delicious, and everything my party ate was 10/10. I recommend stopping in, there were so many different things to try!

We were in Portland for only a few days, but had breakfast here each and everyday since it was a short walk from our hotel. The quiche Lorraine was delicious, as was the citrus tart and pain au chocolat (very flaky and buttery).

This was my first visit to the downtown location on a Saturday morning. I ordered two croissants and a chouquette, but both were very disappointing. The texture was hard and dry, as if they were not freshly baked that day. It tasted like it may have been made a couple of days ago. I expected a fresh, high-quality bakery experience but was disappointed

Came in for some warmth on a chilly Saturday morning.. the staff were colder than it was outside. The food is French fare. Latte and London Fog with soy were good enough. I had a sad breakfast panini with scrambled egg(s) and paid extra for cheese. I'm trying to add a photo of this masterpiece. But literally, the worst thing was the indifferent, if not rude, staff that took my order and called my name. Not one smile, not one thank you. I won't be back. I don't think they will mind.

Convenient place to have the morning coffee/pastry. The coffee was good, the pastries all good looking (our group tried a few) and food options sounded delicious. The almond croissant was ok, but the Apricot tart was amazing. Service could improve a little, but overall a great bakery.

On my quest of finding all the top sandwich joints in Portland, I made this new discovery of another amazing sandwich shop and bakery. The chopped sandwiches are unique and tasty. The bread is amazing. Not sure how long this place has been around but I am glad to have found this place and will be back. Oh, and the chocolate chip cookies are awesome!

I guess I adore chopped sandwiches now! Or you know what? I adore Dos Hermanos bread, because that’s really what was doing the heavy lifting on each of the three sandwiches we got and sampled. Unless you’re feeding a family of four the half sandwich is more than enough. We love the spice on the Italian sub (BadaBing). Spice lovers, I suggest you get some jalapeño chips if you don’t get a sandwich that has something spicy or zesty. We had no problem eating our sandwiches in the air conditioned bar next-door, it was a hot day and the café was really really warm. The guy in the bar next-door was super kind and accommodating and said we didn’t have to buy anything to eat there, (tho we did). Can’t wait to come back here!

Incredible!! The CHOPPED SANDWICHES!!! so rare in portland and they are amazing. Obviously the bread and pastries were great. I loved the space too. Service was fantastic. I’m such a big fan you will see me here often!

Came here after seeing they won Best of Willamette 2025 – Best Bakery. I tried the chopped sandwich — the portion was generous and the flavor was quite good. I also picked up a chocolate croissant; it leaned more toward a bread-like texture rather than the super flaky, layered style. That really just comes down to personal preference. The staff were friendly and the dining space is simple and casual. If you’re a sandwich fan, you’ll likely really enjoy this spot.

I really like their bread but I haven't dialed in my favorite chopped sandwich here. I also wish the bread was toasted. The whole sandwiches are gigantic!!! --- sandwiches --- These are at around a 4 star for me right now Cochinita pibil ⭐⭐⭐✨ - typically like Cochinita pibil, but this was just ok for me, maybe I just dont love it in a sandwich or it needed more vegetables - I like the habanero salsa with this tho BLTA⭐⭐⭐⭐ - This is good but won't blow your mind - it tastes better toasted as a leftover because the cheese melts and it's amazing, the bacon also gets crispier --- bread --- Sour dough ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - not too sour but really delicious and good texture

Fat Cupcake on Woodstock has become one of our favorite spots for indulging in sweet treats. The moment you step inside, you're welcomed by a charming and inviting atmosphere. The decor is whimsical yet cozy, creating a delightful environment for both adults and children. It's the perfect place to enjoy a quiet moment with a cupcake or to celebrate a special occasion with loved ones. The staff at Fat Cupcake are exceptional. They are not only friendly and welcoming but also incredibly customer-oriented. Whether you're there for a quick pick-up or ordering a special cake, the staff go out of their way to ensure you have a pleasant experience. Their warm and approachable demeanor makes every visit enjoyable and memorable. Fat Cupcake offers an impressive array of cupcake flavors, each more delectable than the last. Our favorites include the classic German chocolate and the fanciful unicorn cupcake, both of which are absolutely delicious. The cupcakes are consistently moist and packed with flavor, making each bite a delight. For our son’s first birthday, we ordered a lemon cake with raspberry filling, and it was nothing short of spectacular. The cake was moist and flavorful, with the tartness of the raspberry perfectly complementing the sweetness of the lemon. Overall, Fat Cupcake on Woodstock has earned a special place in our hearts. The combination of a welcoming ambiance, exceptional service, and mouth-watering treats makes it a must-visit for anyone with a sweet tooth. Kyra's Bake Shop, located in Lake Oswego just a short drive from Portland, is a gluten-free bakery founded by Kyra Bussanich. After struggling with an autoimmune disease and finding relief through a gluten-free diet, she decided to create a place where people with dietary restrictions could still enjoy delicious treats. Known for its inventive flavors, the bakery offers scones, cupcakes, wedding cakes, pastries and even cinnamon rolls.
had a wonderful experience at Kyra’s Bakery! As a fully gluten-free bakery, they offer an amazing selection of treats, and everything is made with such care. I tried their lavender latte, which was perfectly balanced with just the right amount of floral flavor, and their cinnamon roll, which was absolutely delicious—soft, flavorful, and just the right amount of sweetness. It’s so nice to find a place that caters to gluten-free options without compromising on taste. Highly recommend checking them out!

I've been going to Kyra's for years (and getting cakes for almost every birthday) and I finally got to contact them for my wedding cake! From start to finish the communication was great, the tasting was delicious, and the final product was stunning. While there was a mishap (unnecessary for the detail of it) because I can assure you Kyra's took amazing steps to make it right and truly cares about their customer. Like I told them and continue to tell my friends, I'm a lifelong Kyra's fan and can't wait to order my next cake from them. Thank you for making our beautiful wedding cake! As always, it was delicious.
Melanie M — Google review
Kyra's Bake Shop made our dream cake come to life for our celestial wedding. All we cold find were AI mock ups of what we were envisioning. At our first consultation we were walked through what was possible based on our wants and we were given the actual moon. <3 It came out beautiful as you can see. We got Lavender cake with Marionberry Jam filling and Marionberry Buttercream frosting. That flavor haunts me in the best way. All of the desserts we choose as well were so good. Our guests were raving about them!. The YETI BARS!!! OMG! Thank you for the amazing experience and the prefect cake.
Tamantha R — Google review
I came to Kyra to have my wedding cake done and she was an absolute pleasure to work with! She took the time with us to talk through all of the ideas I had because I came in not feeling completely certain about what I wanted in terms of design and we made it happen with an idea that fit our budget. I also cannot eat gluten so her offerings were perfect for me. Later one month before the wedding I found out I was pregnant and she was able to accommodate a request to make the inside of the cake pink for a surprise pregnancy announcement and wedding gender reveal. We had a fog machine, strobe lights, and played My Girls by Animal Collective, and had our flower girl ride into the reception space in a mini-Mercedes g-wagon to deliver us a teddy bear dressed in girl clothing. Her cake was the centerpiece of all of this madness and our guests went wild when they found out. The cake taste itself is is absolutely to die for, all four flavors we had for it. And the final cake itself turned out beautifully (a lot of people thought it was fake tiers because of how big we made it but we saved money on decor by going plain white and ordering a bow that we sent to the bakery to add to it). We paid her to handle delivery and bow tying, and the cake came completely intact exactly to the specifications we wanted. Thank you Kyra and bakery staff!!!
Michelle I — Google review
We hired Kyra’s Bakery for our wedding cake and dessert spread, and it was an absolutely incredible experience! As a Celiac bride, I felt nervous about finding a bakery that could create a gluten-free cake that actually tasted amazing… and then I found Kyra’s and was blown away! From the very first tasting, Kyra made the entire experience exciting, creative, and completely limitless, something that’s rare in the gluten-free world. Every flavor was a dream, and the final result was pure perfection. Our guests were head over heels for our desserts (most didn’t even realize they were gluten-free!), and we were thrilled to have leftovers so we could savor them long after the wedding. We’re endlessly grateful to Kyra and her team for making our dessert vision come to life. We highly recommend anything on their menu, but just be warned, it’s nearly impossible to choose because everything is incredible!
Kelsie H — Google review
My husband and I ordered our wedding cake from Kyra's and it was fantastic! We had a coffee themed wedding, wanting our cake to look like a caramel macchiato, and the swirling pattern in the buttercream (heaven!) was drop-dead gorgeous. Having each tier being a different combination of flavors (espresso ganache, salted caramel, cinnamon coffee cake) was a genius move. Kyra listened to our requests, made a few of her own, and made our dream cake come true. Delicious and highly recommend.
Lauren K — Google review
We ordered a vegan wedding cake from Kyra’s Bakeshop (the red one in the photo) and it was fantastic! The cake tasting for it with Kyra was wonderful and she did a great job walking us through all the different flavors and customization options. I really felt like she wanted us to have the perfect cake for our wedding and wow did she deliver! The cake looked beautiful and we got tons of compliments from our guests about how delicious the cake was (including from several of our non-vegan guests!). I would highly recommend Kyra’s Bakeshop if you ever need a vegan cake.
Mitchell L — Google review
We used Kyra's for our wedding. We had a small cake for ourselves, and set up a dessert bar for the guests. The cake was beautiful and tasted incredible. I do not have any dietary restrictions but my wife does, so we had to go gluten-free and dairy-free for the cake and other desserts, with some vegan options. The cake was as tasty as any I've had, so top points for that. The cupcake 'shooters' were just as good and a huge hit with our guests. We also had some hand pies and brownies, both which were great. We literally had guests in tears because finally they were at a wedding where they could eat whatever they wanted! The consultation was good, and the process of picking the flavor combinations was really fun. Great choices, great quality, great service, I cannot recommend them enough. I'd use them again even if there weren't gluten-free and other dietary restrictions to consider.

Nestled in the heart of downtown Portland, MÅURICE is a delightful French-Scandinavian luncheonette that has captured the hearts of locals and visitors alike since its opening in 2013 by chef Kristen Murray. This charming eatery boasts a minimalist all-white dining room where guests can indulge in an array of pastries and innovative dishes inspired by Nordic and French culinary traditions.
What a unique dining experience! The owner and head chef greeted us as we were looking at the menu on the door. We had to come in! She was so friendly and willing to talk. You can tell she really values her guests. The food was all fabulous, with the best French onion soup I’ve had (it’s their seasonal soup right now), and then a fabulous lemon Soufflé and chocolate cinnamon cookie that I was NOT expecting to taste like that. The host made conversation with us and I will be sure to remember that as well. The place is so cute and chic as well. I felt very welcome. So glad I stopped in!

“A refuge, a moment out of time.” Where you slow down, and enjoy each dish made to order. The quiche here was a different animal - so soft the filling almost oozed out of the flaky crust. And the razor clams were divine! It was so full of umami and reminded me of the Chinese mitten crab. I already long to be back for the clams (and everything else). Plus great dessert.

Long birthday lunch for a dear friend - every bite was a delight! Radish & chive finger sandwiches, prawns, sole in parchment, spanakopita, basque cheesecake to finish. The chef was in Germany and the chef’s taking over the kitchen for the week offered equal care and creativity in each dish. The seafood was simply exquisite - perfectly seasoned, cook times to the second, we ordered bread to sop up every single drop of the jus. Pricey so I don’t go often, but when I do I dream incessantly about my next visit. Truly one of Portland’s finest restaurants!

This is a very cute place. The food is mostly good. The muscles flavor is great and very unique with the pine nuts. Cheesecake is delicious. The baguette and butter is ridiculously small and expensive. The pork salad has pork that is bland like a sheet of white paper, and the fried veggie part of the salad is inedible. This is the service is slow, but it doesn’t bother me too much because the place is nice and we can chill sitting outside

Great lunch spot with cool atmosphere and focused menu. Interesting dishes, small plates. Service can be a little slow because they are packed.

Incredibly charming space that also delivers on food, drink and friendly service. Truly enjoyed the seasonal chilled tomato soup and pan roasted flounder with chanterelles (fish du jour). And do not skip the elegant & tasty desserts!

The food was delicious. My favorite was the winter salad as the cabbage was fresh, crisp and dressed well. Another great dish was the black pepper cheesecake. Looked stunning and tasted wonderful (much lighter than a NY cheesecake and more moist than a Japanese cheesecake). The restaurant was beautiful as well as small. Made for a cozy meal. The folks working there were friendly, kind and hospitable.

Sweedeedee is a charming cafe located in North Portland, offering a cozy and stylish space to enjoy homestyle American breakfast and lunch. The menu features delicious dishes made from locally sourced ingredients, including granola, oatmeal, breakfast burritos, soups, salads, sandwiches, and mouth-watering pies. This quaint hole-in-the-wall restaurant is best known for its creative offerings like cornmeal pancakes and breakfast sandwiches on fresh-baked focaccia.
We met my daughters here for breakfast. We arrived right when they opened so seated right away. We had a nice window spot, cozy vibes. The decor was fun, restroom clean and roomy. Food was yummy & the staff were friendly. It got busy fast….were there on a Friday.

had a yummy breakfast sandwich and a refreshing glass of orange juice. such a cute little stop on my trip through portland! a bit of a smaller menu but plenty of unique and enjoyable meals to choose from.

A nice ol spot to enjoy baked goods and breakfast/lunch bites. Don’t skip on the honey cake with cream and lemon curd! I had it along with their yogurt, homemade granola, fresh fruits and honey.

This place is so cute. 5 friends and I decided to meet up here for brunch after talking about for forever. Word of advice get there early because it's very small and it fills up fast. We were like 3rd in line thank goodness because it's not a place for groups really. Also it says first come first serve but that's not true, they seat everyone at once and then randomly take orders so we waited properly 20 min before we saw a server. We were chatting it up and weren't in a hurry but it was kinda disappointing. We were ready to order when she finally came which was good because we never saw her again. You pay at the front once you are done. The food was so good. I got the breakfast sandwich. The menu is different every day so if you are thinking you are going to get something that's pictured on Google then you may be disappointed. I was hoping for the breakfast burrito. The pastries in the case were so yummy. I wouldn't recommend bringing kids here. Glad I finally tried it but I probably won't be back.

This was my first time visiting Sweedeedee, and I was immediately charmed by the cozy, welcoming vibe of this cute little neighborhood spot. The service was quick, and everything felt relaxed yet efficient. I ordered the turkey sandwich, which was absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The bread was fluffy and tasted homemade, which made it even better. I also had the English breakfast tea, and I loved that it was loose leaf and served in a French press—such a thoughtful touch! I’m already looking forward to coming back and trying some of their bakery items. A lovely find!

Late lunch was a hit! Ordered the zucchini sandwich (add bacon). Delicious, served quickly and the atmosphere is clean and airy. Loved the vinyl being played through the small space.

A wonderful spot for Brunch! Hot tip, the hours on google are wrong. They’re now open at 9am Friday through Sunday!

Food was simple. Had the corn cakes which I didn’t realize was just pancakes. Had it with the blueberries and bacon. It was good. Also had the endive salad however, the dressing was more acidic than anticipated. Was a charming little place. We’re used to the heavy American breakfast, and this was nice and light.

Helen Bernhard Bakery is a long-standing establishment in Portland, known for its old-school charm and delectable baked goods. Established in 1924, this bakery offers a variety of pastries, cookies, cakes, and breads that cater to diverse tastes. Run by Mike and Kellie Snaadt, the bakery also specializes in crafting custom wedding cakes with unique flavors like white chocolate, pink champagne, and banana.
I recently ordered a cake for my Mom's 70th birthday. It wasn't inexpensive but it was PERFECT. I asked for a huge heart-shaped overdecorated pink champagne single-layer boat a la movie studio birthday parties of the 1950s, and they delivered. Seeing this thing wheeled out for the birthday song was magic. The cake itself was delicious and super moist, even two days later stored in the box. I've had mixed results with Helen's case cakes, and I think the workaround is just ordering something custom and fresh and not relying on what's readily available that day in-store. You won't be disappointed!

they did a really nice job on a cake i got for my friends birthday. i asked for the most tropical fruits they had and the person recommended banana cake with banana custard and pineapple icing. it turned out beautifully, i will say the banana cake was a little dry and overbaked but the custard was INCREDIBLE. also liked that the icing had fresh bits of pineapple and wasn’t too sweet. very friendly service and the shop was super cute too.

We love Helen Bernhard bakery! I called to order a birthday cake for my mom and received the best customer service over the phone! I learned there are additional options when you call to order (such as buttercream frosting) vs. ordering online. I mentioned my mom loves daisies and was thrilled to see the artistry on the cake when I went to pick it up. This was a 7” standard chocolate cake with raspberry buttercream filling and chocolate buttercream frosting on top. There was enough cake for 7 adults with some leftovers.

Incompetent to say the least and mostly just a scam to take your money for the least amount of work. Wasn’t what I ordered, it was sloppy and disgusting. It wasn’t ready or even started when I arrived and it was dry! I emailed this company asking if they could make a Buttercream knife palate painted cake and sent 2 pictures (attached) I got a call from them and spoke to a woman who said they absolutely could and it was no problem. We discussed all the details of the cake and I felt confident about my decision of choosing this bakery with 100 years of experience. I arrived this past Friday Feb 21, 2025 at 12:15pm for my agreed time 12:30pm pick it up time. I was told it would be 10 minutes. I happened to look to my left and saw a man just starting what looked to be the cake colors I ordered. 45 minutes later the cake was brought to me unfinished. I was very confused bc it looked nothing like the pictures I sent. It was messy and sloppy. 25 minutes later they said it was done, it was awful and nothing like what I ordered. I asked them to fix it 3 times and every time I was met with rudeness and unprofessionalism. This isn’t a design you just whip out of a plastic icing bag, as the buttercream is to be painted on with a knife and refrigerated. It takes skill which I found this bakery does not have. The cake is supposed to be more taller than wide. The bakery lied to me, was unprofessional, rude, and completely incompetent. When you say you can recreate a cake and charge $95.00 for it, I expect you to make it as close to possible as promised. I was over a hour and a half late as it was, due to them not even starting until after i got there and was on the way to the party and had to purchase this cake to not show up empty handed. The cake was tasteless and dry and beyond a disappointment. This bakery is a scam and I wouldn’t waste your time or money here. We would have been better off getting a cake at the dollar tree lol Update: I called the bakery and a manager got on the phone and ripped me apart and said I expected too much! HAHAHA! Then don’t lie to your customers about your abilities and expectations will be low as they should?? I think Helen Bernhard would be disgusted and highly disappointed by the people running her bakery these days. I bet she was great.

Helen Bernhard Bakery never fails to bring joy to our hearts—their cakes have always been a family favorite! Not only are they beautifully crafted, but they’re also perfectly soft and never too sweet—just the right balance every time. Our most recent cake truly exceeded all expectations. We shared an inspiration photo and some character toppers, and what they created was beyond anything we could have imagined. They brought our son’s cake to life with incredible detail and creativity. Absolutely magical!

So many delicious treats to choose from. I went late on Sunday afternoon and a few of the cases were discounted half off but they still tasted fresh when we enjoyed at home. The cake donuts and sticky bun were my favorites. I will definitely go back again earlier in the day next time to catch some different items.

Ordered this cake for my girlfriend’s 27th birthday and it turned out absolutely amazing, they went off the inspo pic I sent and it turned out so beautiful. They’re not overpriced either which I really appreciate as most bakeries charge far too much for a custom cake. Highly recommend getting your cake through here!

Helen Bernhard Bakery is truly a gem. From the moment you walk in, the smell of fresh-baked goods wraps around you like a cozy blanket. Their cakes, pastries, and cookies are consistently fresh, beautifully crafted, and absolutely delicious. The staff is always friendly and helpful, whether you’re picking up a custom cake for a special occasion or just grabbing a sweet treat to brighten your day. Their buttercream frosting is a standout — rich, smooth, and not overly sweet. And if you haven’t tried their classic pink cake or the almond torte, you’re missing out. This bakery has been a Portland favorite for decades, and it’s easy to see why. It’s a perfect blend of tradition, quality, and charm. Whether you’re a longtime local or just passing through, Helen Bernhard Bakery is a must-visit.

Bakery
Piece of Cake is a well-established bakery in the Sellwood-Moreland neighborhood, known for its exceptional cakes and other culinary delights. Founded by award-winning baker Marilyn DeVault in 1978, this quirky bakery offers a wide range of treats including cookies, tortes, and cheesecakes. The specialty cakes come in various flavors and have won awards for their quality and taste.
I’m so grateful Marilyn accommodated a short-notice request for my baby shower. I ordered 3 different kinds of jumbo cupcakes and a 9” Fantasy cake (cheesecake/cake hybrid). I requested a custom bear decoration that totally exceeded expectation. I was absolutely charmed. All of my guests loved the cake but top of the list was the Fantasy Cake and the vegan carrot cake. My personal favorite was the white chocolate raspberry almond. It wasn’t cheap, but it was worth it to us. When I went to pick up my order, I was pleased to see two women working behind the counter, they were helpful and also stoked about my bears. I would have liked to meet Marilyn too since she was so personable. The shop isn’t a posh west-side boutique, which may be what some folks are looking for. But it is a real down to earth neighborhood joint that feels like the Portland I hear people waxing nostalgic for. If you’re reconsidering your order based on other reviews, I definitely recommend going in and trying any of the many varieties they have ready to order to see if it’s for you. If you’re used to driving (and parking) in Portland, you won’t have a hard time navigating this area. If you don’t like parallel parking, just take a deep breath- you can do it.

We ordered some late night cake from uber eats - so first off it gets extra points for being one of the rare dessert places open late. Most of the cakes themselves were good but a little on the dryer side. However if I would’ve only ordered the cake that was cheesecake + brownie it would have gotten a 5 - that one was INCREDIBLE. All in all, good option for late night delivery and go for the cheesecake cake.

First off I want to say this whole experience is based off me ordering through doordash. I have not actually been to this business just ordered from it. When the driver handed me the two boxes, I asked him if this was everything I ordered. He looked at me weird said yes and drove off. I asked because I ordered 6 items and could not figure out how all of it could fit in these two small boxes. Unfortunately it did all fit, it was just not as described. Id like to point out I am aware that doordash obviously has higher prices. But with the description and the higher price we were led to believe we were getting something different. We got 3 "Jumbo" cupcakes for 6.95 each. 2 peanut butter brownies at 3.75 each and a oatmeal butter scotch cookie wedge for 1.85 dollars a piece. Cupcakes- Overall they tasted good. But what was disappointing is that the picture made them look like they were very large. They appeared to be the size of the old Costco muffins and they are titled as Jumbo cupcakes. They were normal size cupcakes. Half of which were frosting. Which I didn't mind a lot of frosting, but my wife did not like it at all. She thought it was way too much and not balanced. Here is how each cupcake was: Red velvet jumbo cupcake- Rich flavor, chocolate chips on top/ in the middle, then a thick layer the cream cheese frosting. It was delicious. This was the one I got. I thought it was great, just as previously mentioned it was way smaller than expected and a ton of frosting. Carrot cake Jumbo cupcake- we both thought it was good tasting, but weird chunks in it that aren't listed anywhere what they are. It said no raisins and no nuts but we were not sure what the chunks were...apples maybe. Plain Jane Jumbo cupcake- kid loved it, ate more of this, then he normally eats of a typical cupcake. Chocolate peanut butter joy brownie- this was the size of two small adult fingers. Again not what I expected. It also was just a basic okay brownie with a decent peanut butter frosting. It was fine. As for the cookie...we'll we haven't tried it yet, after the other disappointments. But again, it was very small. Someone took a smaller sized standard cookie and then cut it into quarters. This is one of those quarters. So essentially nothing felt like it was worth the massively overpriced items we got. Look, if it was described and pictured acurately and I paid half the price, this review would be much different. With that said, I Would absolutely not go here again unless the prices were cut in half. It is highly unlikely doordash was that much higher in price.

I called in to place an order for a cake to have at an event I was holding a few days later, and the gal on the phone was able to guide me to the perfect vegan cake: Irish Oatmeal! It looked beautiful and tasted even better! It was simply amazing (and when heated up tastes like a butterscotch cinnamon roll). All the party-goers were non-vegan aside from myself, and everyone ranted about how delicious the cake was, and would never have known it was vegan. We will definitely be purchasing from here in the future. Next time, if I'm looking for something a little lighter, I may try the lemon coconut supreme with marionberry. Thank you for the wonderful cake, Piece of Cake!

You know how every time you order cake for a party you know you'll have a ton leftover because all your guests will act like they don't eat cake? That is not the case with this bakery. That cake will be gone. The owner is a delight to talk to and is extremely helpful and transparent. She recommended the exact right amount for my party, offered a range of options in different price ranges, and clearly loves what she does. My guests were literally taking pictures of the box because they liked the Gorilla cake so much.

This bakery truly saved the day! I needed a large, detailed cake for 20 people with only two days’ notice, and they delivered beyond all expectations. The owner personally took the time to go over every detail with me and even looked up and ordered a specialized cake topper on Amazon to make it perfect. They decorated the cake beautifully, even adding crystals for an extra touch of sparkle. Pickup was easy, and the cake was absolutely stunning — and even more delicious than it looked! Everyone raved about it. I would 100% recommend this bakery and will be using them for all our cake needs going forward!

I've been driving past Piece of Cake for years. Looks like a quirky Portland bakery. Decided to order my husbands birthday cake. Talked with the owner on the phone. She sent some pictures of design ideas. I choose one, selected the flavors and size. One layer chocolate, six inch, "photo" top. $130!! After I realized she wasn't joking, I felt that supporting local businesses is important, swallowed hard and said "yes". The cake? Nothing special. I won't return. BTW, she should use some of her high prices to fix the place up. What a mess.

Ordered a Black Forest cake for an 88th birthday celebration. The chocolate cake was perfectly moist, chocolate frosting divine, and perfect/traditional cherries. Even the so-called “non-cake eaters” loved it! The cake was clearly made with high quality ingredients. We accompanied the cake with freshly whipped heavy cream (as a side option). Will use Piece of Cake for all future cake orders in Portland.

Alright this is amongst those places where one has to visit at least once in their life. I have been going here for about 10 years now. Amongst my favorite are the chocolate with cream cheese frosting, vanilla with cream frosting, coconut, and red velvet. They have 2 sizes, the dot and the full size. If you go an hour before they close, they are 1/2 priced. They also have ice cream cakes but I have never tried it. You can also pre order here.

I ordered cupcakes and a cake for an 80th birthday party I was throwing for a dear friend. Oh my goodness. They were so delicious. They were kind enough to change out the sprinkles and decorations to match the colors of our party. We had the carrot cake as our 8" 3 tiered cake and there wasn't a crumb of it left. We also had lemon, vanilla with chocolate buttercream, red velvet and toasted coconut cupcakes. Everyone was asking where they came from and raving about how delicious it was. If you need treats for a party don't hesitate to reach out to Saint Cupcake!

An Xuyên Bakery is a cozy cafe and bakeshop known for its artisanal pastries and Pan-Asian sandwiches made with housemade bread. The Vietnamese bakery offers a variety of sandwich fillings, with pork being a popular choice, served on tender Vietnamese baguettes along with cilantro, shredded carrots, cucumber, and jalapeno. In addition to their famous banh mi sandwiches, the bakery also sells their breads and pastries at local restaurants and grocery stores.
There is almost always a line at this bakery, but it is well worth the wait. The chicken and lemongrass sandwich is absolutely delicious. The pickled carrots and crisp cucumber on the barbecue pork are perfect. Don’t miss the unusual mochi donuts, including the black sesame peanut. They are a very specific taste and texture. Staff is super friendly and efficient.

It was so good! Prices were outrageously good and fair. I was blown away by how beautiful the desserts were and how creative. They were so yummy and I am excited to come back and get many more. The ube donut was by far my favorite. So simple but so yummy and soft. The matcha cheesecake was a fun one, not my favorite but it was pretty so can’t complain too much. Loved the pork bun. Amazing, especially for the price! I’m looking to try the sandwiches next, they seemed like a big hit when I was there!

Oh the number of tasty items. Get something here for an enjoyable treat. We got a bbq pork steamed bun, an egg ban mi, an ube mochi donut, a butter pecan walnut crisp and a thousand layer coconut ube. The bun was a typical steamed bun. The ban mi was interesting but very tasty, replacing some of the veggies with some hard boiled eggs. The crisp was tasty with the center being flaky sweet and moist all at the same time. The donut was exactly as its name should be. The thousand layer was like a thick croissant filled with ube and coconut.

Amazing baked Asian goods!! The bbq steamed pork bun was one of my favorites. Honestly tried a little bit of everything haha ube cheesecake was delicious but very rich so you must share that with someone. Their pork belly bahn mi was great, the cha siu bahn mi meat was kinda dry. Iced coffee was tasty but super sweet. And lastly their garlic cheese bread was huge and delicious!! Had actual garlic pieces and some sort of sweet aioli sauce that made it amazing. We went back twice on our trip. Highly recommend

first time trying banh mi, but I was blown away at both the price and quality. For reference, bahn mi can be about $12 or more, it was 6.75 here. And was the real stuff with a family running the show. Long line, good sign. Next time I will try the many different desserts

Incredible bakery. I’ve been here quite a few times now and it’s a must visit! They have a wide selection of pastries, even a couple gluten free items. They do have other food and drinks as well. It is super affordable! I got two croissants (which are soo soft and buttery), and 3 gluten free coconut ube donuts (and let me tell you, these are my new obsession) all for $9!! The coconut ube donuts are so flavorful without being overwhelming, the texture is amazing, and just the fact that they are $1.50 blow my mind. The parking is sparse in their parking lot but street parking is free and easy to find
Z P — Google review
Both vegetarian versions of bahn mi are amazing! The bread was nice and crunchy on the outside but super soft on the inside (they are baked fresh daily!). We liked the vegetarian meat version slightly more than the tofu one because the flavors were a little stronger but they were both excellent! Service was actually fairly quick. Didn't try the pastries but they looked amazing so we'll definitely come back for those! They only have a couple of picnic tables out front, and just 4 or 5 parking spots, so it's definitely best to just pick up and take it to go.

Gluten Free Gem is a well-established brand in Portland, known for its high-quality gluten-free pastries like cookies, muffins, and brownies. These treats are widely available in local supermarkets and cafes across the city. The bakery now has its own retail shop and operates from a completely gluten-free facility, making its products suitable for those with varying degrees of gluten intolerance.
What a cute little bakery that has all sorts of fabulous gluten free items! Had the pretzel, the cinnamon roll and a bagel and was blown away at the flavor and the prices were reasonable and the service was fantastic. If you have the chance to visit this is where you want to go! Shared a cinnamon roll with someone who doesn’t eat gluten free and they said they can’t even tell the difference!

I had high hopes for this place but I was so disappointed. I only given it a 4 star because I really enjoyed the marionberry cheesecake and I'm very generous about the 4 star, the rest is disappointing. They have limited savory items and the one I tried was so dry, I only had one bite and it felt like sawdust in my mouth, well that sawdust savory slice of toast cost $7 that was thrown in the trash bin. I will only go back here to get that marionberry cheesecake but the latte and that horrible toast are way over priced. Update 5/14/2025 I'm changing my review to 5 star because of Kaytie's excellent customer service, she reached out to me and gave a $8 refund for the unedible toast.

Absolutely heavenly baked goods! My first visit was a late afternoon weekend, and pickins were slim, as should be expect in a popular bakery. This visit, we made it by 9am on a Friday, and there was plenty. I say was, as I cleared the place out. OK, not really. But, everything looks amazing and this maple pumpkin coffee cake is fantastic. I can't believe it's gluten free! I am a late bloomer to celiac, so remember good wheaty baked goods. This cake could compete against the best of the best. Will squirrel away the other 5 treats for later. (Elevensees, brunch, afternoon tea, dessert, late night treat!) I'm in love!

We ordered the most delicious gluten free cake for my sister and niece (both have Celiac disease.) We ordered a custom chocolate cake with chocolate ganache and vanilla buttercream frosting. We used Gluten Free Gem for our wedding cake and it was PERFECT. My partner is celiac and I am dairy free + allergic to coconut, which makes it very hard to find a cake that we can both eat and GFG was able to make us a beautiful, delicious cake that was gone instantly.

Experience/Environment: Super cute. From the outside, the building has an old school vibe but there’s something about the windows and the angle of the building that I appreciate. It adds personality before you even walk in. Price: Dietary restrictions cost money. I’ll just leave it at that lol. Food: Everything is GF. I got a bunch of things so get ready… Lemon Poppy Seed Pound Cake: light fluffy, lemon “frost” on top was a banger. The cake wasn’t too sweet so it was the perfect paired with the flavor of the frosting. Lemon Twinkle Cookie: edges were crunchy to the soft but firm cookie. Lemon flavor was definitely apparent but there was also an almond flavor in there to me. Peanut Butter Power Bar: I refrigerated it overnight and pulled it out to snack on during my walk. It kind of just fell apart, which is fine. So I understand why it’s saran wrapped. You can taste the peanut butter, brown sugar, oats. I would’ve preferred the consistency be more granola bar esk but that’s a personal preference. Chocolate Chip Cookie: Delish. Chocolate was rich and balanced well with the cookie. Peach Coffee Cake: Consistency and flavor to perfection. One of our favorites. If you like coffee cakes and peach flavor, try this. ASAP. Honestly overall, everything was incredible. I only wish I was able to eat it all in a timely manner. After 2 days, quality starts to go naturally so 3 days shelf life max is what I’d recommend. Service: All the bags that the treats came in say “I’m a gem” which made me smile. Lol. Love a good pun. Especially when it’s cute. Everyone was super nice. It was great. Probably one of the best gluten free bakeries I’ve ever purchased from! Every item I got was fantastic, even days later (kept stuff in the fridge)! Their bread, chocolate torte, and maple donut were my three favorites!

The Dessert Tray is a cheerful bakery that specializes in customizable wedding cakes, New York-style cheesecakes, pies, and cookies. This counter-serve bakery pleasantly surprised a couple who initially planned to have a simple courthouse wedding but decided at the last minute to make it more memorable. Despite the short notice of just two weeks, the Dessert Tray was accommodating and friendly when asked for a two-tier wedding cake.
I needed to order a very special custom cake for my daughter's graduation reception. I was short on time but when I contacted The Dessert Tray, they were just amazing to work with. I sent them a picture for what I was thinking of and they recreated that image in a beautiful and delicious cake!! I was elated with how great it turned out and everyone at the party thought it was awesome! There was a tassel on the cap but I accidentally knocked it off....I will always return to them for desserts I might need. Also, when I went to their shop to pick up the cake, they had so many delicous looking items for purchase in the store and it smelled heavenly! You wont go wrong with this team!!!!

The cake I got here was okay. I ordered a 6" round vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream, which was $50. Pretty decorations and professional look, but the texture of the cake was crunchy/grainy around the outside, as if the sugar in the batter had crystallized. (I could feel it crunching as I cut a slice and was worried there was something inside.) The cake was also very sweet, but tender. The frosting was quite buttery, more than I'd prefer (I think it's Swiss meringue buttercream). Friendly, fast service. I'm looking forward to trying their cookies some time.

My husband and I used Dessert Tray for our wedding cake and cupcakes. They were very professional and delicious. We got earl grey cake with honey buttercream and it was all the rage at our event. Thank you, Dessert Tray for such an amazing cake!

This place really helped out in a pinch. We wanted to get a custom themed cake in 2 days and they were able to help us out. The staff was super friendly and great to work with. They replicated the cake perfectly. We were very pleased.

On Saturday 9/20 i stopped by the dessert tray for only the second time. My first experience was fine as I remember. I ordered one slice of vanilla cake with buttercream frosting and one slice of chocolate cake with buttercream frosting as choices were very limited for single serving items. Later Saturday evening I decided to try these cake slices. I took my fork and tried the frosting first. The frosting was amazing on both slices of cakes and it quickly reminded me of Beaverton Bakery cake frosting which I still consider to be the best bakery ever. When I stuck my fork into the cake slices they were both very hard and dry. It reminded me of Helen Bernhardt’s cake which is awful and alway hard and stale. These cake slices must have been nearly a week old or more. It’s unfortunate that you’re selling old cake slices like this. Had one slice been that way and the other moist i would consider giving this place another try, as trying to find a decent bakery these days is impossible.

I have ordered several cakes from this bakery for birthdays over the course of the years. I finally got around to writing a review after the last order which I put in for a friend's 40th birthday party this month. The cake came out beautiful! Two tiers, with drip and artificial flowers (I myself purchased the flowers at Jo-Ann Fabrics). I had sent the bakery a couple of photos of inspiration cakes I found online and they just did amazing work. This cake was chocolate with chocolate ganache which was rich and delicious. Everyone was very pleased and impressed with this cake! Thank you Dessert Tray :)

Amazing place for dessert. Small footprint inside. Locally owned for 20 years. Great place, when we were still baking desserts. Liz & I had the Russian tea biscuit, key lime tart, marionberry brownie & day old red velvet cake; all were delicious. Specials include day old slice of cakes

At Tous Les Jours Beaverton, you'll find a variety of delicious pastries, including hot spinach and feta croissants and pain aux raisin. You won't find these flavors and styles of pastries at every bakery, so this is a great option if you're looking for something unique. Tous les Jours has over 50 locations in the United States, so there's bound to be one near you.
This is definitely one of the best bakeries. It has good croissants, soft milk bread, and beautiful tasty cakes. I am so so addicted to their yummy bakery. Come early for the best selection.

Loved the mango cake slice. At $8 per slice, it is a good deal. There are good coffee options too. They also have fruit shakes if you have a sweet tooth. The small cookies were also tasty. I highly recommend the earl grey and lavender macaroons. They were tasty and fresh. I think the place could use more color and have a bit more light and color in it to be more appealing to customers. It is a great little joint for a quick dessert stop for me.

WOW... Been 3 years. But today 9/03/25 I decided to stop in for some treats. And they did not disappoint. I picked up some macaroons and pastries. As well as my favorite slice is blueberry cake. Also a garlic cream filled bread roll. Yum Update 6/6/22 Came in early and Im Sooo...glad I did. The shelf's were FULL of Fresh Pastries. Guess I inherited a sweet tooth from kip. I bought a variety of pastries. Some old favorites and a few New one's to try for curiosity reasons.. the donuts,oh my the donuts. the vanilla cream filled or the blueberry filled Donuts bursting with cream filling flavor. Oh my delicious.. Caramel apple turnover flaky flavorful delicious...The peach bread pudding was good.. definitely warm it up 10 seconds and ice cream and warm yummy fuzzy feeling in you belly. The hazelnut chocolate croissants have always been my favorite and this time the two that I bought were full of chocolate and was so yummy.... I never realized they had a warm area with croquettes and other warm pastries and breads they even had pastry wrapped hot dogs.... LOL 💖💋💋💖 Amazing delicious decadent desserts. Moist full of fresh flavors.. Kip and I used to go to papa Hayden's for our macaroons. But I think "Tous Les Jours", will be our New favorite dessert place. Each and every macaroon had its own unique flavor. Bursting with flavors. We have tried all of them. And we both like the blueberry lavender. And salty Caramel. The cakes are just as flavorful. Just get there early or they May be sold out. And yes You can order on line or call in and reserve your favorite slice of cake.. I did and was glad I reserved my slice of blueberry yogurt cake. Yum😋

The coffee is good but not the best. And they have a variety of pastries but they are all way too sweet. I love how Innovative they are but they definitely need to take it easy on the sugar. Most of their pastries have sugar powder and glazing and icing. It is just simply too much! Stop giving people diabetes!

This bakery offers an impressive variety of baked goods, from croissants and pastries to cakes, croquettes, and more. Their birthday cake selection is amazing as well, with options for both whole cakes and individual slices. You’ll also find roll cakes, sandwiches, cookies, and even birthday essentials like candles and hats. The customer service is really great, very friendly and attentive. The space itself is clean and modern, making for a pleasant experience.

I recently visited Tous les Jours in Beaverton and was thoroughly impressed by their unique mix of French-Asian pastries. The kimchi croquettes were an absolute standout—crispy on the outside, with a perfectly balanced tangy-spicy kimchi filling. It was unlike anything I’ve tasted before! I also had their apple pie, which I was excited to try. The crust was soft and light, with just the right amount of sweetness from the apple filling. Their filled donuts, though, were the real surprise. I’ve had filled donuts before, but the richness and flavor of these were on another level. Each bite was a treat. I also grabbed a mango smoothie, which was super refreshing—smooth and fruity, with a perfect blend of sweetness and natural mango flavor. It’s hands down the best mango smoothie I’ve ever had. I loved the atmosphere of the bakery, too. It’s casual and inviting, perfect for picking up a quick pastry or staying to relax. While the layout can feel a bit corporate, the freshness and flavor of the items more than make up for it. The wide selection, from savory to sweet, ensures there’s something for everyone. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the Beaverton area and craving some delicious pastries!

This bakery is, hands down, the most authentic Japanese bakery I've ever been to. The variety of breads, the flavors, and even the atmosphere of the display are exactly like what you would find in Japan. We've been here many times before, and this time we came to relax with a coffee and dessert after our lunch. My favorite is the Green Tea Cream Cake Piece, but it was sold out today, so we had the Cloud Cake Piece and the Blueberry Cloud Piece. The cakes were moist, fluffy, not too sweet, and had a very elegant taste. They were delicious! The place is usually crowded, but today we were able to sit down and relax for a while. 04/16/2024 Shaken Tea Latte: soft taste without much oats smell Baby Choux: The cream inside was a gentle sweetness, like a mixture of custard and whipped cream. Green Tea Croissant: freshly baked croissant was crispy and savory, perfect with the green tea cream

We go there often and have many favorite pastries. However, sometimes we don't find our favorites available. They have interesting and delicious drink options. Staff is nice as well. Great place! Our new favorite is the jalapeno croissant sandwich with cheese and ham now! And to drink, the lavender matcha latte!

Carina's Bakery is a vegan bakery that specializes in Swedish recipes, offering a variety of gluten-free treats and pastries. The owner, Carina Comer, draws on her Scandinavian heritage to create mouth-watering delights like the Scandinavian Almond Cake and the Danish Dream Cake. What sets this bakery apart is its commitment to hiring employees with visual impairments or developmental disabilities, providing opportunities for those who could use extra help.
Great vegan Cafe, gluten free options are clearly marked. We got a variety of sweet and savory and reccomend the sausage rolls and potato salad from the savory side. The almond cake and the pistachio cake were standouts of the sweets we tried. The cinnamon roll was good in flavor, but crumbled quickly. 4 stars as some of the dishes were very dry. We didn't care for the mushroom schmeat pie. But the garlic cheddar focacia bread was amazing. Atmosphere was bright and cheerful, and the counter holds a resident service dog (don't tap the glass) which was an extra treat while dining in. We will definitely return.

It’s a good breakfast and bakery restaurant in downtown Beaverton with a great community and social message helping people w/ disabilities by provision g work opportunities. The inside has farm store vibes and their menu has a lot of varied food options beyond pastries. Lots of vegan and gluten-free options. No Organic food options (yet) so ask them to add some.

Got some delicious smorgas (loaded toasts) on this trip, but we also got our wedding cake here so Carina’s holds a special place in my heart! Sad that they have moved away from traditional cakes (the almond cake/caramel/jam/chocolate ganache combo we got was divine) but the princess cakes and cupcakes look terrific so I will need to try them soon. And the pastries and sausage rolls are so good too!

All vegan bakery! Everything was delicious. I love that they had a good mix of sweet and savory options. They have breakfast and lunch options too! ALSO…they works with folks of varying levels of disability because they believes everyone should have the opportunity to work in an industry that as a whole isn’t accessible. I love this. As a job coach who works with the I/DD community, I exxxtra love this. 💚

I ordered a cake approximately 2 weeks prior to Mother's Day as a surprise for my wife who is allergic to dairy and therefore would think a vegan cake would be perfect. I placed an order for a red velvet cake with raspberry jam filling and what I received was not anywhere close to red velvet. I am not entirely sure what flavor the cake was, but most likely it was their Swedish spice cake. I contacted them through email several times notifying them of the situation. Because it was not the cake that I had ordered, I requested to receive a refund. After 72 hours, I have not heard anything back from the bakery. Not even a simple apology for the mix-up. At this time, I am out $55 for a cake that I did not order nor did we enjoy. In regards to the cake itself, we were only able to get through one slice. The frosting honestly was not too bad, but the cake itself was actually quite disgusting. It was dense as a brick and lacking in any particular flavor, which was why it hard for my wife and I to identify whether this was an off-colored red velvet or the Swedish spice cake. I am disappointed as this was one of the only bakeries that had a wider than normal selection of vegan or dairy-free cakes around town. Will stick with more reputable bakeries.

We couldn’t be happier with our experience! Carina and Amy went above and beyond to accommodate our needs, and their customer service was absolutely incredible. The cake not only looked beautiful but tasted amazing—and the fact that it was vegan made everyone even more thrilled. We received so many compliments! I think we just found our new go-to bakery. Thank you again for making everything so special! 🌟🎂

All the food that I tried here was delicious. The faux lox sammie was so flavorful and I enjoyed the chewy, dense bread it had for a base. The pistachio cake was full of flavor without being too sweet (as was the cardamom bun). But the real star of the show was the biscuit sandwich. The flavors were impeccable and will be the reason I drive back from Portland's East side again.

Champagne Poetry Patisserie, located in Hawthorne, is a beautiful and delicious spot known for its eye-appealing pastries and friendly staff. The ambiance is perfect with its pink decor and floral arrangements. Customers highly recommend this patisserie for its Instagram-worthy treats like the rainbow crepe cake and tiramisu crepe cake. The place offers a variety of delightful baked goods including cookies, cheesecake, Japanese bread, and fluffy pancakes.
Stepping through the doors felt like entering a edible art gallery. Each pastry is a tiny masterpiece, almost too beautiful to eat... almost. But then you take a bite, and wow. The flavors are incredibly nuanced and sophisticated, a true dance on the palate. This isn't just dessert; it's an experience. The service was impeccable too, attentive without being intrusive. If you're looking for a treat that elevates your day from ordinary to extraordinary, this is the place. Prepare to be enchanted!

Cute decor but sad to drive an hour for food not worth the hype. We tried 3 things the peach, the Christmas tree thing and the bus rose. They all pretty much taste the same. Very heavy on the whipping cream. Almost little to none of the flavors advertised. Maybe if the fruit filling hadn't been frozen so hard we barely could barely get a fork through it, than maybe that would've added to the over all flavor. Very pretty, but not as tasty as it looks. And the boys at the counter couldn't have seemed less pleased to be here.
Linda N — Google review
This is definitely a hype-beast influencer type place. I have to agree with the reviews here. Depending on when you visit, it’s a hit and miss. During this visit, the employers were super nice and inviting but the parking sucks. There are a lot of cool shops around the area, so walking from a couple of blocks down is okay and recommended. I did like that the place was clean and the theme of the place, but the prices did not fit the taste for me. They did look super fun and cool, but the prices are not matching the hype. I give it a 5 out of 5 for Uniqueness and we do need more places like this in Oregon, but there’s still something missing. Their target audience definitely is teenage and younger people.
Supreme S — Google review
I'll admit that I got suckered in by the hype of this place, and am a little disappointed I didn't research the fruit pastries more closely. We purchased the mango tango and the dark chocolate with raspberry. The mousse was dense, but nothing special (for those from the Southeast, the dark chocolate tasted very similar to a chocolate mousse pie), and the mango was super tart. We purchased two of the brulee slices- OG and Oreo. They were... Ok. Texture of the actual cheesecake was good but the brulee aspect fell flat. The crust was also heavy and dry, lacking the crispness associated with a luxurious bite of decadent cheesecake. Lastly, we purchased one of each type of the offered cookies for the day-Ube, white chocolate, and chocolate chip. These were probably the best offered desserts, especially the ube, but once again... I left feeling a little lackluster over the experience. Despite the food being a letdown, the service was exceptional. If you are not a native to Portland, I'd bypass this place due to limited parking, fighting traffic getting in and out of the city, and avoiding being a victim of over hyped food.
Cynthia C — Google review
I have been here before a long time ago and it was great so I brought my kid. We loved our cakes the Marion berry cheesecake was the best. I thought I'd like the berry rose one best but it was too rich for me! I put the one I got from my previous trip on here as well it is the one on the white plate. The plate upgrade was wicked cute. Not in love with tip prompt then bus your own table and the water is out- if there is no service involved, tips shouldn't be a thing IMO.
Niki — Google review
Not sure. By the time I opened to give it a try the Mango Tango and Georgia Peach were both completely melted. Wished I had known or was told they would melt otherwise I would had eaten them right away. I did however got to eat the Japanese Cloud Nine pastry and it was pretty fluffy and tasty.
Kevin T — Google review
This place is adorable, but it's a tourist trap. The desserts were beautifully made, but terrible and lacked flavor. The mango one wasn't edible and far too tart. The ube cheesecake had the coloring down, but lacked ube flavoring/flavoring in general, and the cloud one tasted like a fluffy bagel with whatever was sandwhiches together with it. The flower wall and pink chairs were the best part.
Kay H — Google review
Excellent. A little pricey at $10 a pastry but it was delicious. Read the descriptions and choose what you would normally eat flavor wise. They also have savory options and good coffee.

I’d heard good things from friends so we picked out a birthday cake yesterday. We all agreed it was wonderful. A perfect sponge cake with a layer of fresh fruit inside and on top. It wasn’t as sweet and overly rich as most traditional bakers make it was just right.

I love this bakery! The food is delicious, there's a huge variety, and everything is very affordable. The people who work here are really nice, too! I love coming here to get a light breakfast. Also, the hongkong milk tea is really good; not too sweet, which goes perfectly with the pastries.

Pastries and buns were decent before New ownership. We purchased when new owners took over 2 years ago and everything tasted differently and not in a good way. We haven’t been back since until this past weekend. We had hoped that they would improved after 2 years. Things gotten worse. 1. Long wait time. 2 ladies behind the counter with 3 customers waiting and we had to wait for almost 10 minutes to be served. 2. Mochi with peanuts and coconut fillings was one of the signature treats under previous ownership. Mochi was noticeably firmer. The worse thing was they used stale peanuts which gave a bad distinct aroma and taste. 3. My son loved their beef curry buns before, so we purchased one for him. When I picked it up from the box at home, the curry bun was as light as air and there was literally a small dab of curry sauce in it, as seen in attached picture. Very sad to say, we will never go back. We love to support smaller, mom & pop businesses but with quality like these, it makes it impossible to justify any future visits. Owner, please spend time and effort to improve your craft or you’ll end up closing the business in no time.

Disappointed to see King’s Bakery marked as ‘temporarily closed’ (as of the time of this review), and I hope they’re doing well. I visited multiple times within a few weeks of finding them—the food was always delicious, especially the hot dog buns, and we were so excited to find Pasteis de Nata (Portuguese custard tart) at a local bakery. The service was always polite, and the food was satisfying, affordable, and consistently good quality. I was surprised by the number of one-star reviews. Complaints about not being given extra boxes for free, not receiving bonus items just for buying pastries (after questioning their authenticity..), or vague accusations of “rude service” coming from reviewers who sound suspiciously entitled themselves - that all says a lot more about those customers than it does about the bakery. King’s was a lovely local spot, and I hope to visit them again sometime.

Years of driving down 82nd for various reasons, going someplace, coming back, I had never really thought about all the interesting little paces tucked away in plain sight as I passed through the Jade District. Places that simply never broke through my vague distaste of the traffic and lack of trees. And then suddenly as I drove along, I noticed King's Bakery with its bright yellow and red sign, as if it had just appeared out of the east side mists like a beacon appearing to a lost sailor. I did a quick u-turn, parked next to a graffiti covered wall and ventured tentatively into a garden of earthly delights. The young staff were very welcoming and immediately put me at ease and suddenly I was enthralled by a large selection of mysterious and interesting pastries. My first thought was, why has it taken me so many years to find this place? Everything looked amazing. I got a Curry Bun that was fabulous, and a hilarious pastry with lots of hot dog pieces sticking out of it, I haven't seen such a thing since I last left Asia many years ago. Over the years, I lamented to myself the American lack of fun delicious eclectic pastries, thinking I would never see or taste such a thing again. My wife simply dies for sesame balls with red bean paste and I got her two huge ones. I also got her a custard bun that she thought was amazing. She is a picky eater and when she comes to me later and says, "That was wonderful", my heart absolutely sings. I also got her a Wife Bun, which she didn't like quite as much, but I was already way ahead on the happy wife scale, so I'm going with it. The hot dog pastry took me back 30 years to my travels abroad and the BBQ Pork Bun was spot on. Suddenly 82nd becomes a different kind of place. Not just a busy, slightly run down area that doesn't look particularly safe, but a treasure hunt with welcoming people and truly delicious food. It was around 1:00 and the staff advised me several times that I should come early for a better selection, which honestly boggled my imagination a bit. I already thought they had a great selection, what must the early morning be like? When you drive down that traffic laden corridor, pay attention to the offerings that pop up along the way! You'll be amazed! And absolutely drop into King's Bakery and grab a selection of interesting goodies. You might not love all of them, but you'll really love some of them. It's worth the trip.

Soro Soro Coffee & Dessert is a charming Korean cafe established in 2019 by the husband-and-wife team Tae Kim and Bobae Choi, who brought their experience from running cafes in California. The cafe is adorned with cat-themed decorations and serves delightful desserts and drinks that attract tourists, families, and students. Their signature Snow Affogato, featuring a giant sugar-spun cloud over ice cream infused with espresso, is a must-try.
My husband and I visited this very cute little dessert shop. We Loved the atmosphere. The decor and little trinkets were fun to look at while we waited for our lattes. There were adequate seating both indoor and outdoor. It was quite hard to decide what treat to choose as everything looked so adorable and equally delicious. We settled for an earl grey cheesecake and a white chocolate strawberry cheesecake. Both were fantastic, flavors were nicely balanced and wasn't too sweet. We also paired our treats with lattes, topped with adorable latte art. I recommend this cute little shop!

Are you even ready for the cuteness?!!! This Korean cafe is too cute for words. The atmosphere, the latte art, it’s 10/10 worth spending $7-8 on a coffee. I recommend ordering a latte so you can get a cute latte art, because if you order anything with foam, you can’t get art on it. I tried the Tiramisu as well. It was **not too sweet**

This cafe has been on my list to try for TOO long! I’m so glad we ended up going because this place is soooo adorable. I could spend hours reading in this cafe. It’s cat themed and you find a new cat picture, shaped thing every minute. We got the strawberry shortcake, banana matcha, and banana hot chocolate. 5/5 stars all around. The matcha was great on its own but with the banana topping it was perfect. I wanted to try more but I’ll save it for when I come here next time!

Super cute spot | excellent matcha What a super cute little spot! I’ve never been to Japan before, but I can imagine shops over there look like this. Decorated tastefully with lots of cute cat decor and allows lots of light to fill the place. We were greeted and helped. Let me tell you, you need to get the matcha tiramisu! It’s for matcha lovers. It’s incredibly light and a matcha delight with the powder and topping over this delicious spongey goodness. It’s not heavy at all. Not super sweet, it’s perfect. It’s my favorite treat here that will bring me back for more. Apart from that treat, I enjoyed a matcha latte with soy as a substitute and made my drink unsweetened. The matcha is definitely quality here, but I think I should’ve gone with the sweet option because my drink was completely more on the bitter side. Totally fine and enjoyable if folks that want more of the bitter taste, but I think my perfect matcha latte from this place would be with the sweet option. It would be the perfect balance of bitter and sweet. My husband enjoyed their pistachio cream latte. He highly recommends this one too. We overheard a woman give them a compliment regarding their banana cream matcha, saying it was the best she’s ever had after trying many other spots. This piqued my interest, so I will try this next time.

Mikiko Mochi Donuts is a popular spot in Portland, known for its chewy mochi doughnuts that cater to gluten-free and allergy-friendly diets. Founded by Emily Mikiko Strocher and Alex McGillivray, the bakery draws inspiration from traditional mochitsuki mochi-making techniques. The bright space in the Kerns neighborhood offers a wide range of flavors reflecting Strocher's mixed-race Asian background.
My friend surprised me with these donuts and wow are they amazing! I’m not a big fan of donuts, but THESE DONUTS- tasted wayyy better than regular donuts. They were soft, but with enough texture-you felt like you were eating something. They aren’t overly sweet and don’t taste artificial. Really fun, interesting flavors. I particularly enjoyed the Ube and the mango sticky rice! You can’t go wrong with any of the flavors… nice to enjoy really tasty gluten free donuts in Portland! They definitely do not taste gluten-free!!!

Unfortunately, this really wasn’t it. I was craving mochi donuts and was really excited to go. Ordered a half dozen to share with my friends. We all tried a small bite of each but ended up throwing them all away. The flavors weren’t balanced and the donuts themselves didn’t hold up well against the frosting. My friend got chicken and waffles said it was fine. I got a sausage and egg breakfast sandwich and the insides were great but on the donut - it was honestly kind of gross? Like just too sweet and mushy for it to be good. Such a bummer all around!

Such a cute spot! We ordered 12 flavors to-go. Standouts for me were the passionfruit curd and peach cobbler (this one really took the crown). Staff were super kind and the space is cozy. Next time I’m back I need to see about this chicken and waffles sandwich… 👀 Highly recommend for a sweet treat.

We are so fortunate to have Mikiko Mochi Donuts to provide gluten free dairy free donuts in Portland!! There are so many wonderful flavors to choose from. The donuts are a little chewy and very tasty. Some flavors are regular, but every time there are seasonal flavors to try.

Food- I wasn't expecting the flavor from the the donut holes. Its very unique, it almost tastes like pancake balls. But I still think its pretty good. I think the smores donut tastes better tho. To be honest it doesn't look or taste like smores to me. But nevertheless I think its a good chocolate donut. Service- The service was good and quick.
Olivia D — Google review
Amazing flavors!! Got 1/2 a dozen, my absolute FAVORITE the strawberry!!! Gluten free!?? The texture reminds me of sticky rice more than a traditional donut. So very very delicious!!! I'll be back!!! It's a smaller place, not a lot of seating - I think there is more outdoor seating than inside, perfect for summer!! Service was friendly, and fast! I would highly recommend if you love pastries and are gluten free and or dairy free!! You may need to park a block away, WORTH IT!!!

While I appreciate the staff for giving an extra donut to try, I hate to say that I came across a major problem. For a place that sells baked goods or any food for that matter, finding hair is totally unacceptable. Specifically, this wasn't like a stray hair that floated onto a donut like an accidental surface contaminant. This was a long thin piece of hair found embedded in the glaze which I suspect was present during prep of the glaze or baking. That's very unhygienic and makes me wonder if they're wearing hairnets while making the donuts or doing a good enough job with Quality Control. It's pretty bad if it's not caught by the time a customer finds it and thank god I did instead of feeling it in my mouth. I reiterate, this piece of hair was embedded between the donut and glaze which was absolutely disgusting to pull out, breaking half way as I tried to extract it, and indicates it had been there while the food was being made. For this reason, I can't say for sure that I feel comfortable trying donuts from Makiko again without this issue being addressed.

I love this place. I think their gluten-free donuts are better than regular donuts. Best of all, they taste good a couple days later still in the fridge. Sometimes I can't help but get a couple too many and then store them away to have a few bites as a treat the next day. Unlike traditional donuts, they hold up really nice. Then I saw that they were also helping people altruistically and I had to leave the positive review that I was already thinking about. They're good people who make delicious donuts. I also love the art that they sell. I bought a mer-pigeon that really add some flair to my bathroom decor.

Fressen Artisan Bakery and Cafe is a Portland establishment known for its handmade German breads, pastries, and pretzels. They have been delighting locals with specialties like Swabian rye, potato bread, vollkornbrot, and chewy pretzels for over a decade.
Fressen Artisan Bakery is a true gem in Portland, and their pretzel baguette is an absolute standout. The perfect blend of a soft, airy interior and a crisp, salty pretzel crust makes it a unique and irresistible treat. Every bite bursts with rich, buttery flavor and that signature pretzel goodness. The bakery itself exudes charm, with friendly staff and a selection of beautifully crafted breads and pastries. Whether you're grabbing a quick treat or stocking up on artisan bread, Fressen never disappoints.

How have I never been here before?! Authentic German baked goods. The pretzel sandwiches are legit. Can’t wait to make this a regular stop.

Fressen has an amazing atmosphere. The coffee came out quickly and tasted great. The cappuccino art was not very pretty, but the it did taste great, and to me that’s what matters. My wife got an iced latte with hazelnut flavor added, and that was seriously delicious. We split a breakfast bagel sandwich, which comes on a pretzel bagel. The honey mustard made the sandwich a little too sweet to me, but definitely a delicious sandwich. They also have a lot of breads and pastries which all look amazing

Went for some pastries and bread with my German mom. The almond cake is superb, as was the almond croissant. The rye bread is beyond exceptional ( mom approved 😊) You can taste the love and quality ingredients and reminded me of bakeries in Germany. Service was quick, attentive, and friendly. Cute seating area. 10/10 will return. Thank you.

Delicious authentic German baked goods. Best croissant in Portland! Laid back, unpretentious atmosphere, kind staff. Get there early for the best pastry and bread selection and do yourself a favor and try the Hansel. 🤤🤤🤤

I love German bakeries and wanted to try this for a very long time. They had good options for baked desserts and bread but the problem was there was too little of everything, and I went there at 10 am. The caramel apple cider was absolutely delicious. The pretzel itself was kinda dry and small, but the chive butter and Emmental cheese with it were nice. The service took really long, and it literally involved spreading some butter and placing slices of cheese on the pretzel. However, I would visit again if I happen to be in the area in the future.

Wonderful German bakery experience, the pastries pair so nicely with the medium roast German style drip coffee here!
Paul B — Google review
For coffee it is just okay. I came here pre COVID and I remember it being one of the best lattes, but now when I went back it was not up to parr, especially for PDX. The pastry was good but others in the area are just as good (maybe better but I'd have to try more) but with better coffee. I'm hoping I'm wrong and maybe it was just an off day. I will try again and update accordingly.

Voodoo Doughnut is a popular counter-serve bakeshop known for its creative and quirky donut creations. The shop offers an eclectic blend of flavors and toppings, including unique options like the bacon maple bar, a peanut butter chocolate donut with crushed Oreos, and an apple fritter 'as big as your head.' It's even possible to get married at Voodoo Doughnut while enjoying their sweet treats.
Really fun spot and a Portland classic. The donuts are unique and taste great, definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area. Be prepared to wait though, the line usually wraps around the building, especially at night and on weekends. Once you get inside, the neat vibe and variety of flavors make the wait worth it.
Lamplightermk101 — Google review
it was a definite must-visit for you. Inside its cozy, compact space, there's plenty to admire. You especially enjoyed their strawberry cheesecake , churro doughnut voodoo doughnuts etc , really loving the strawberry filling inside. The donuts were a bit sweeter than your usual preference, but overall, you had a good experience, and found both the doughnuts and merchandise to be reasonably priced. You think it's one of those spots you should check out at least once. this one felt more authentic and hit the spot for you, thanks in part to helpful staff like Cricket, who assisted you nicely in picking out your treats.

Voodoo Doughnut is a must-visit for anyone who loves unique and specialty donuts! Each one is fluffy, flavorful, and perfectly crafted, turning every bite into a little moment of joy. The shop has such a fun and quirky vibe that makes it feel like more than just a stop for sweets — it’s an experience. Yes, the line can get long, but it moves surprisingly fast, and the anticipation just makes the donuts taste even better. Whether you’re a local or visiting, this spot is a fun, delicious, and Instagram-worthy stop. 🍩

Yes, I know the hype. You can try to come a little late at night (I came around 8 pm) and the line up wasn’t that crazy. They have lots of unique choices for donuts (which is intriguing). At the end I chose the classic chocolate. I think it was the best way to decide if they met the standard. It was not disappointing. The dough is a little crispy outside and soft inside. The chocolate is mixed sweet & savoury. Really good stuff!

Overdue review. Voodoo Donuts is listed as one of Portlands must-dos because the donuts 🍩 are from the hometown of “The Simpsons’” Matt Groening. Not sure if they were inspired or were an inspiration. I was curious to see or try the “Homer” donut, the iconic cartoon donut with the pink frosting. When I stumbled across this shop - it turned out to be one of the most memorable places I visited in a long line of places because of the staff. Summing up Portland, it’s like a dream of the 90s that has decayed and atrophied. There is a severe homelessness and drug problem in the downtown. So I was walking quickly through this area and a homeless blonde woman in her late 20s - 30s approached. “Ma’am, ma’am?,” she inquired as I walked by. I told her, sorry but I didn’t have anything on me. She said,” I don’t want your money. I just want a donut. Can you please help me just get a donut?” This was a simple and honest request and she seemed genuinely hungry - ok, so I went in the long queue with the intention of getting her a donut alongside this famous pink “Homer” donut. There was an actual security guard at the velvet line. The guard stood there all day but was trying to help her. She didn’t have her shoelaces tied so he was pointing to her shoes. To tie them. He retied his own to show her. She had stuff in her hair and he brushed his own hair off to show her where there were leaves. He was even smiling to try to cheer her up, to make it fun. She was very lost, looking much older than she really was - you could tell she must have been beautiful once. When I finally got into the store I told the clerk we wanted to purchase a donut for this homeless lady. The bakery clerk stopped everything and looked outside quickly. She even exclaimed “Oh I know her! I know what she likes.” Then she proceeded to find the exact donut and we purchased them. The lady stood outside at the door waiting, I gave her the donut as I exited and she was finally happy. There was really no more anyone could do for her. So, kudos to the Voodoo Doughnut staff showing us humanity where it was much needed. Someone went home with a full belly on that night. I hope people are able to support Voodoo Donuts and maybe pay it forward. Maybe it doesn’t even have to be a homeless person to pay for but just someone behind you. We can keep going because it’s good for the soul. These are great donuts, these are great staff. This was the most memorable donut shop experience I’ve ever had.
D巴斯克斯 — Google review
I bought just one donuts but it was so big and I couldn't even finish it on my own. The shop is close to the water front park so I brought it to the river and had it while walking along the park. The exterior of the shop is pink and there is a big area outside the shop where people can enjoy the food. There is a security guard standing outside the shop controlling how many people can enter the shop so it won't get to crowded inside. There are many donuts flavor. See the photo. I've donuts is a little expensive $4.5 but it's worth is. Think it as a meal.

This is a must stop when in Portland! I was told it is the original location, I didn't verify this. The donuts are pretty decent. Fun nostalgic shop. Staff is friendly! A line is formed outside and security let's you in to the shop! There is entertainment outside of the shop. Fun place check it out!

The original. A must stop. There can be a line but its well organized and prompt. Once inside you have an amazing choice of donuts you will find no where else. A must visit if in Portland Oregon.

09/27/25 I don't like coming downtown, but this place was a good choice for brunch. The service was good, and my Peruvian breakfast was delicious. It's best to get here early before opening so you have parking and then just walk around the block.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would! What anni credible place. It's beautiful inside, the staff is really top notch, the food was stellar. We had the Steamed Pacofic Salmon and the Spring Quinotto dishes. I had a drink called the SacsayHuamân, that if I'd had more time I would have had a second of (or third!). Cannot recommend Andina enough!
Ellen K — Google review
This was our first time eating here. We came for brunch and made the right decision picking Andina. From stepping in the front door the decor and ambiance was warm and inviting. My boyfriend had never had Peruvian food before, he is from Arizona, so he didn't know what to expect. We were greeted and sat right away at a booth by the windows is very nice and very comfortable. Looking at the menu we wanted to order more than we could eat and had a hard time deciding what we wanted more than others. To start with, the Peruvian coffee was full bodied and absolutely delicious! We chose Smoked Salmon Mash , Empanadas, Kiwicha Pancakes w/bacon and ended with the Pastelitos Peruanos. The plating was beautiful. I tried to get pictures before my boyfriend dive in but that didn't happen. The hash and empanadas were an explosion of flavor, perfectly cooked, and you just savor the flavor with every bite. The pancakes, the syrup was incredible and balanced out with the blue berries. The pastry plate was sooo good with the coffee and the cream and lemon curd were tasty and lots of flavor. We also had a special, I do not remember the name of the dish. I did add photos, it was One of my faves. The wait staff were very attentive, efficient, knowledgeable of the dishes and very friendly. We ended up talking some home with us but we're not sorry about ordering too much. This is definitely the place to go for a wonderful brunch! You can't go wrong here. Great experience from entry to exit! Next time is the Dinner experience. Definitely marking Andinas as a place to experience over and over again. Thank you,

Im not too sure I can add anything which others havent already said about Andina, however, this was an incredible dining experience!! My daughter and 1 just checked into our hotel and this was just a quick 10 minute walk. It was a Tuesday night and we didnt have a reservation, however, we were warmly welcomed and promptly seated in the dining area by the bar. Really cool vibe and lighting inside and was lively, however, not overly loud so you could easily have a conversation. Our waitress was extremely friendly and helpful explaining the menu as we had some questions. The first item we ordered was off the drink menu...TÚPAC TOPOTOPO which is a freeland forest gin, housemade gooseberry syrup, rosemary, lillet blanc, verjus blanc. Absolutely delicious and refreshing balanced flavor and on the sweeter side. Next up was PAPA A LA HUANCAINA which are crispy ozette fingerlings, huancaina sauce, olives, chives, cured egg yolk. Ideal to share and so much flavor! Before our main course arrived and since we had such a great experience with the first cocktail we also tried the SACSAYHUAMÁN which is habanero vodka, passion fruit, cane sugar, sugar rim. While we thoroughly enjoyed the first drink this was easily our favorite. Not too spicy but the spice is definitely present, however, its nicely balanced out with a pleasant sweet and sour element. Highly recommend! Finally our main course was the MILANESA DE CERDO CON TALLARINES which is a pork cutlet, dried tomatoes, botijia olives, ricotta huancaina peruvian pesto, linguine. As with everything else this has such great balance of flavor and nice little pops of brininess from the olives. We should have stopped here, however, the dessert menu beckoned and we couldnt ignore the decadent Peruvian chocolate mousse. First, its a generous portion which could easily feed three, but this dessert is seriously amazing! Lots of rich chocolate flavor, coffee brownie and a layer of tartness which helps cut through the richness. I cant recommend this restaurant enough. It deserves all its accolades and I hope 1 can make another visit before we head back home.

Andina has a lot going for it — the atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the service was okay throughout the night. The menu is creative and beautifully presented, with Peruvian flavors. Highlights included the ceviche and the octopus with earthy, citrusy notes. The food did take a little time to come out, but it was understandable given the quality.
Jake G — Google review
A great spot for a celebration if you love (or want to try) Peruvian food! It is a very beautiful restaurant that feels like a place you go to for a special ocassion. The lomo saltado was delicious - I really apareciste that the rice comes on the side so you can add in as you see fit. The beef heart was fun to try for a first time but the whipped beans stole the show! So delicious almost like hummus. The cocktails were yummy too and the seasonal ice cream was very inventive. It is a bit of a louder restaurant so be mindful of that if you’re trying to have deep conversations. Service was great!

Salt & Straw is an artisanal ice cream maker known for its quirky flavors and handmade waffle cones, drawing crowds to its parlors. The local chain has gained national recognition for its innovative approach to ice cream, offering unique flavors like turkey, stuffing, and mashed potatoes & gravy.
One of my go-to flavors here is the Pear & Blue Cheese—it's unique and always hits the spot. This time, I tried the Peanut Butter Brittle Caramel Fudge, which I really enjoyed. However, the Chocolate Caramel Corn with Candied Peanuts wasn’t for me—I should’ve sampled it first. Thankfully, they let you try as many flavors as you want before deciding. The staff is fantastic—super friendly and patient while people sample and make up their minds. We visited on a sunny day, which made the experience even better. There are spots to sit or stand both inside and out, and it’s a great place for people watching—some folks outside seemed to be there just for that! The only downside is parking—it can be tricky, and you might have to circle the block a few times. Still, we’ll definitely be back.

Salt & Straw is undoubtedly one of Portland’s most iconic ice cream shops, and for good reason. The ice cream is rich, creamy, and bursting with unique, seasonal flavors. The staff is always friendly, and they offer samples of their quirky flavors, which makes it fun to explore new combinations. I tried their honey lavender ice cream, and it was a perfect balance of floral sweetness and creamy texture. They also have dairy-free options, which is great for those with dietary restrictions. The atmosphere in the shop is charming, with a vintage-style interior and a cozy vibe. Salt & Straw is a must-visit if you’re in Portland, especially if you’re a fan of unusual flavor pairings. Whether you’re indulging in a scoop on a hot summer day or picking up a pint to take home, you won’t be disappointed by the quality and creativity of their ice cream.

Five Stars Isn’t Enough! Salt & Straw is hands-down the pinnacle of ice cream perfection in Oregon. Every visit feels like a gourmet adventure, and the creativity behind each flavor is unmatched. We’ve tried plenty of ice cream spots, but nothing comes close to this place. Our absolute flavor favorite? The Truffle Butter—rich, savory, and beautifully balanced. It blew our minds and instantly became our gold standard. Way better than the Duck Butter (which was still good!), but the Truffle Butter was on a whole other level. From the moment you walk in, the aroma, the welcoming vibe, and the sample-friendly staff make the experience unforgettable. Salt & Straw isn’t just an ice cream shop—it’s a flavor journey. If you’re in Oregon and don’t stop here, you’re seriously missing out!

Came in with some friends. They had patience of waiting for the long line but I did not. I just grabbed the pint of honey lavender flavor ice cream in their fridge then went straight to the cashier so I didnt have to wait in line. The ice cream was delicious and one of my favorite flavors, then 2nd would be blue cheese n pear flavor. The atmosphere was clean and the place smells like amazing vanilla scent because of the waffle cones they make there. One of my favorite ice cream places ❤️

I think this was literally the best ice cream I’ve had in my life. They offer a nice variety of flavors, including seasonal options that seem to rotate out. My favorite was the cinnamon snickerdoodle. All the staff was very kind, and there was plenty of sitting and standing tables inside.

I liked that this store opened late and it had very unique flavours. The aesthetic of the place is also very different for an icecream store, but in a cool way! I like that they give you the option to try the flavours before purchasing, and that they have dog ice creams as well! I tried the blue cheese and pear icecream and it was super refreshing. Staff was nice, and the wait wasn’t too long.

This restaurant is a staple in Portland. They have two locations, this one in NW and another in SE. Both have amazing food and desserts, with quality ingredients. I've never had a subpar meal or dessert here. Parking can be tricky as it's mostly street parking and this area in NW is busy. There is a paid parking lot behind the restaurant, but it fills up fast, and can be hard to navigate with a full-size vehicle. I took a friend here to celebrate her birthday. I made reservations online through Open Table. We came on a Sunday around noon. We were seated as soon as we arrived. We were lucky enough to get a window table. It was perfect! The entrance can get a little congested because the host podium is located right inside the door. The decor inside has a nice and cozy vibe. Sunday mornings and afternoons they offer their brunch menu. There's a nice variety of breakfast and lunch options available. We each ordered the burger and fries. The burgers were cooked perfectly. The fries were nice and crispy on the outside, and not greasy at all. They only had ketchup for the fries, no ranch available. I just ordered a side of mayonnaise to mix with the ketchup. Our food came out timely and was the perfect temperature. For dessert, we ordered the raspberry gateau and lemon chiffon cake. They were both so decadent and delicious! We took half of both home. They are a little pricey. I spent $85 for our lunch, including a 20% tip. Seems pricey for lunch, especially when we didn't order drinks, just water. Our server was attentive, friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our time here. I would highly recommend.

We didn't have reservations, but they seated us quickly. But, it was down hill from there. Placed our order and waited and waited and waited. 40 minutes later we were served. Then we made the error of ordering their famous desserts and waited and waited and waited. They were not busy, but somehow everything took a very long. The food quality is only average. The desserts look the part, but are really hit or miss. Finally, this place does have a kids menu, but it really isn't kid friendly. Everyone will give you're group dirty looks if you bring in kids under 12.

Visiting from Texas, I didn't expect to be blown away by the filet mignon, easily one of the best I've had. Just the right amount of char and a sweet sauce to balance the bitterness. The broccoli and potatoes wanted a little salt but that may just be my palette. Really enjoyed the cocktails as well, they weren't overpowering and really delivered on the described flavor. Brittany's service was attentive and much appreciated, the entire staff was very pleasant as well. Edit as of summer 2025: They've improved on perfection, the Collete steak absolutely impresses with a chimichurri sauce and buttery savor to support the potatoes and asparagus. 10/10 They update their menu fairly often, the ribeye is still very good although sides are now a la carte, the included sweet salad was quite good

We came here for breakfast before exploring the city. For a Sunday morning without a reservation, we were pleasantly surprised to be seated right away. The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating, and since it was hot outside, we opted for a table indoors. Cheryl’s has been my fave go to brunch spot since 2021 and this last trip truly affirmed that it will always be. My bestie took me out for a birthday brunch and we were sat outside- absolutely adorable table set up they have out front. The staff went above and beyond with how fun and kind they were, our server Sunsariay was so sweet and attentive. 10/10 service all around. I was surprised with a complimentary cinnamon roll with a candle at the end of our meal and it really made my day. Also the food is really good and they have like 3-4 types of hot sauces 😋

Food was really good and service was fast. My only complaint is how cold the food is. Not sure how or why but none of our food was warm. We looked around and no one else had warm food, no steam coming from any plate. Makes me wonder how much they make ahead of time. It did taste good so that’s good. Worth the visit. Ask them to make sure food is hot.

Sure, there are other quintessential breakfast items all over Portland where many restaurants do awesome french toast or awesome biscuits and gravy or awesome chicken fried steak or awesome chicken and waffles. This breakfast is unique. And delicious. The Free beignet is the lightest one in the world! (Cuts on the calories)! Make sure you get one because they forgot mine until I reminded them after my food came. The service is great here, so it was a simple error.

I stopped by Cheryl’s on 12th while visiting from Atlanta and had such a great experience thanks to Christine! She wasn’t my server, but she went out of her way to bring me a drink and chat for a bit. She was warm, engaging, and offered great recommendations—the Portuguese fried rice (a favorite!), the French toast if you like something sweet, and her personal favorite, the corned beef hash. I mentioned I was unsure about the rice, and she even surprised me with a small sample so I could try it first. That extra touch really stood out. Christine was fantastic and made my visit even better!

Loved this place. Solid breakfast. Fun cocktails. Staff was super friendly. We got a sample of the Portuguese rice, what a winner. Free beignets when seated. I would come back again and again.

What a neat little place. We were served complimentary elephant ears and it paired so nicely with our chai tea. Our server was really nice, bantered with us a little bit (me and my husband work food industry). No judgement either! Fast service, quick to be sat. Will be here again!!

Petite Provence Boulangerie & Patisserie is a charming French-inspired cafe and bakery that offers a delightful array of pastries, cakes, and biscuits. The bistro serves breakfast and lunch with options like croissants, croque monsieur, omelets, and house-made granola. Specialties include Wild Northwest Salmon Hash and Meurette Benedicts. Founded by friends with a passion for French cuisine, this little bakery has been warmly received since 1996.
Petite Provence is a gem! From the moment you walk in, you’re met with the comforting aroma of fresh-baked pastries and warm hospitality. The croissants are perfection—flaky, buttery, and clearly made with care. I was blown away by the Ultimate Polenta Cake—so moist and flavorful, it felt like a special occasion all on its own. What really sets this place apart are the homemade touches. Their house-made hot sauce and ketchup are full of flavor and unlike anything you’ll find in a bottle. And don’t skip the raspberry jam—sweet, tart, and clearly made with love. Whether you’re popping in for the bakery or staying for a full meal, this place delivers on every level. Highly recommend to anyone who appreciates thoughtful, delicious food in a cozy, inviting setting!

This is a 4.5. Perfect French bistro with all the charm and pastry skill you can handle. The Baked eggs were savory and filling, but you have to wait for it to, you know. Bake. The pastry are the highlights here. Wowzers. Pistachio latte was perfectly balanced and temperature. Come visit any of the 7! Locations

This is a great brunch spot. The food and drinks are delicious. Our favs are the French onion soup, French toast, and baked eggs. My husband enjoys the corned beef hash, but today we had the burger, and it was really well-made. And their pastries! The original croissants and house-made jam are a must. The almond croissants are very decadent and such a treat. We keep coming back over and over again.

We came here for breakfast — it’s a very nice place with polite servers, you can really feel the French vibe. The breakfast was delicious, and the pastries were fresh. Unfortunately, my croissant was cold, and I would have liked it warmed up, but the waiter didn’t offer. The potatoes were also cold, but everything else was excellent. I definitely recommend this place!

This is one of multiple locations in town. The food is exceptional, whether you intend to simply have a pastry and coffee or a full lunch. Indoor seating is plentiful, but it can still be a wait for an inside or outside seat if you arrive between 1130 and 1230 during the lunch rush-hour, or late morning on the weekends. It is not noisy indoors, and the seats on the 2 lane Division Street have tolerable street noise. It is popular, for a reason.
PappaJohn F — Google review
The food, atmosphere, and staff at Petite Provence are all top notch, but their croissant game is world class. In terms of texture, flakiness, and baking quality I'd confidently say this is one of, if not the best croissants I have had stateside in a very long time. It came with a raspberry jam that complimented it perfectly. The bloody mary bar had great options and the salmon brunch dish was excellent, but seriously, those croissants. Everything else paled in comparison. 10/10, highly recommended.
Gihan J — Google review
I got a croissant breakfast sandwich and fresh orange juice and it was good. I gave them 3 due to the servers’ behavior. She brought me the final bill when I still had half of my plate full and before I even ask for it! Moreover, she rushed me to give my card to her as soon as my plate was empty! Just as a heads up! Not all pastries are freshly made on a daily basis (some are made daily though). Overall, it wasn’t a great experience! I hope they train their server’s to be kinder and provide a better customer service! Also their utensils wasn’t very clean!

Blue Star Donuts is an upscale brioche-donut bakery that offers a variety of creative flavors made with organic, locally sourced ingredients. With multiple locations in Portland and outposts in LA, this donut shop has gained recognition as one of America's best. Unlike the whimsical toppings at Voodoo Doughnut, Blue Star Donuts caters to adults with flavors like blueberry bourbon basil and Cointreau creme brulee.
Blue Star Donuts is one of Portland’s premier donut shops, offering a unique twist on a classic favorite. Their donuts are known for their creative flavor combinations and high-quality ingredients. The first thing you'll notice when you walk into the shop is the inviting atmosphere. The sleek, modern design contrasts perfectly with the warmth of the donuts. I tried their famous Blueberry Bourbon Basil donut, and it was nothing short of extraordinary. The sweetness of the blueberry jam was perfectly complemented by the subtle tang of bourbon and the fresh basil added a refreshing herbal kick. The texture of the donut was light and airy, not too greasy, which I really appreciated. What sets Blue Star apart from other donut shops in Portland is their commitment to using locally sourced ingredients and their dedication to crafting each donut by hand. You can also find vegan options, which is a huge plus. If you’re a fan of gourmet donuts or just looking for a unique snack, Blue Star Donuts is a must-visit destination in Portland

Blue Star Donuts is a must when you’re in Portland. This weekend they had one of my favorite donuts available. The Passion Fruit Cocoa Nib🤤. It has the right combination of sweet, tart and spicy flavors and perfect texture. Deliciousness all around!
Chantay — Google review
Nov 2025 I picked up 5 donuts on a rainy Saturday afternoon. The seasonal flavors are great (spiced sugar donut, apple butter, apple fritter, etc). Sadly, my classic glazed (old fashioned) and apple fritter were both dripping oil. I believe that often means the fryer oil wasn't quite hot enough. Both still great tasting but it is hard to get the texture of oil out of my mouth. Glaze were great- they held up well. The store lighting was great: very airy. If it weren't so wet, I'm sure it would be a neat space to catch-up with a friend or people watch. I took the Light Rail, the closest stop is about 1.5 blocks away. Super close by and easy to catch another back to downtown. I had visited previously in 2019. I'm glad to have tried more Blue Star donuts on this trip.

"A true Portland classic, famous for a reason: The chewy texture and fresh flavors really stand out" Food: I ordered the blueberry bourbon basil donut. It was just under $5. The blueberry flavor was sweet and fragrant, and I think the dough was brioche-based—super chewy and soft, kind of like fancy milk bread. Totally satisfying. Service: The staff gave an awesome explanation of the donuts and were really friendly too. Ambiance: The space is big and pleasant. The donut display case was so beautiful, I found myself just staring at it for a while.
Wookjin P — Google review
While in Portland, we wanted to try a local donut shop and decided on Blue Star, which seemed like a solid choice over the more famous Voodoo Doughnuts. We got up early, spent a few hours exploring the Gorge, and hit Blue Star late morning before heading to the Japanese Garden. We ordered: • Buttermilk Old Fashioned: My favorite of the bunch. Super moist with a great texture—would definitely get it again. • OG Glazed: A solid classic donut we really enjoyed. • Cointreau Crème Brûlée: A bit gimmicky with the Cointreau squeeze dropper, which got lost in the flavor. Still, the brittle top was a nice nod to the dessert it’s named after. Around 11 a.m., the place felt a bit messy—dirty tables, empty napkin holders, and a touch disorganized. Overall, I’d rate Blue Star a 3.5 based on the experience, but the Buttermilk Old Fashioned and OG Glazed were legit delicious, so I’m bumping it up to a 4.
Javi C — Google review
Don’t be seduced by Voodoo donuts in Portland. Blue Star is where it’s at. This is where the locals go. Fresh and tasty. They were out of the cherry filled (devastating) by the time we got there. So go early if you want that. Apple fritter, bourbon and lavender honey were great. No stronger lavender taste. The place is clean and communal seating was good. Great service.
Melanie Z — Google review
I don't really eat donuts too much these days, however, in my return trip to Portland after almost 9 years I had to make a trip to Blue Star...in fact, I walked 30 min in the rain (willingly) to savor these little bad boys! So many great options to choose from! Service was quick and easy though I know it can get busy at times and they do sell out of some of their options if you wait to late to go in. Pretty chill inside and there is table and counter seating by the windows.
Chris W — Google review
I was never a fan of cake (vs raised) donuts be they old-fashioned or buttermilk. Enter Blue Star. The crispy, crunchy fried donut edges are to die for! I’m not a huge fan of pumpkin spice, but the flavor was very nuanced. (In fact, if you’re a hard core pumpkin spice fan, this may not be for you, the cake part almost tasting like classic buttermilk batter despite pumpkin puree.) The glaze with the brown butter salted pecans was out of this world.

This cozy bakery and cafe is the perfect spot for all of your favorite pie in Portland cravings. They have mini pies that are perfect for one or two people, depending on how hungry you are. You can't go wrong with any of their mini pies, but favorites include the marionberry with crumble topping. The Pie Spot was founded on eco-conscious principles and uses only the best ingredients, including gluten free pies.
I just HAD to try some pie! I ordered the marionberry and the hazelnut chocolate pies. My son ordered the special tiramisu and shared a piece. They were all incredibly delicious. They were made even better with the most tasty vanilla iced latte! (So nice, in fact, I ordered a second, to go!) staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!

The breakfast sandwich is a MUST! Wow! One of the best breakfast sandwiches we’ve had in Portland! Paired with a lil pie, so so delicious. I dream of when we can go here again for breakfast!! Obsessed with the size of the lil pies, so cute and perfect. Coffee was also delicious and the staff were sweet and kind! Even so early in the morning, they were so positive, kind, and genuine to us🩷

Definitely worth the reviews. Very flavorful pies and wonderful service. They have a few tables inside with some cute fresh flowers and a couple tables outside. The dining area is nice and cozy with some artwork on the walls. All our pies were flavour and fresh

The Pie Spot is truly a small piece of heaven on earth! Every visit feels special — the staff are so friendly, welcoming, and always in such a wonderful mood. Their positive attitude and genuine smiles brighten my whole day. The mocha latte with skim milk they make for me is absolutely perfect every single time — smooth, balanced, and just the right sweetness. And don’t even get me started on the pies — pure comfort in every bite! This place has quickly become my new addiction. With my big sweet tooth, I’ve truly found my Zen right here at The Pie Spot!
Obaid K — Google review
I did a pickup order from the Pie Spot to cater desert for my wedding. People loved the pies, and they were delicious! I love that there were gluten free and vegan options, as I have guests with those allergies. They loved that even with their food restrictions, they had a selection of flavors to choose from. That said, I had a really difficult time getting a hold of them, and had to call the store several times to ask someone to respond to my emails with my questions. Additionally, there was some miscommunication as to where I would be picking up, as there are two locations, and that was frustrating to deal with.
Cassidy T — Google review
Woah, what can I say about this place! It’s got the typical Portland cafe vibes (which is not a bad thing at all.) The muffins in the breakfast sandwich were like bites of buttered heaven. I had the pumpkin pie, the filling was nice and the crust was awesome. Pies are adorable but the portion might disappoint depending on how hungry you are. Smaller pies though means you can try more flavors!
Bandicoots — Google review
Pie is my favorite dessert, so when my husband and I got married earlier this year, we made sure to have the Pie Spot as our dessert option for everyone. They were easy to work with and delicious to boot! My uncle was sitting next to the pies and gave everyone a pie concierge experience to help them pick the right flavor. Anything was a good choice, thank you Pie Spot!

Please work on the crust. Bought a pie and usually it is the best. This time, you couldn't eat it in a plate because you couldn't cut it with a fork. Matter of fact, it was super hard to customers with a knife. Had to finally just eat the filling.

Bread & Honey Cafe is a charming spot in Portland that offers imaginative light breakfasts and lunches, with occasional supper club events. It's a great place for a romantic breakfast date, serving delicious versions of simple dishes. The cafe has a warm atmosphere, nice music, and a shelf of books to read while enjoying their delicious food and drinks. They also offer in-house made pastries and friendly staff who are knowledgeable about the menu.
Greets fellow consumers! Today, I discovered a charming place called the Bread & Honey Café. 🍯 when I opened the door to enter I was greeted by the fragrance of butter, cinnamon, and bread. The atmosphere was drenched in warm lighting and smooth jazz that immediately relaxed me. I was greeted by Mo (the owner) with a friendly smile and a cheerful, "How can I help you?" I ordered a Breakfast Burrito made with fluffy eggs, bacon, spinach, black beans, and earthy potatoes, topped off with sharp cheddar cheese. The flavors were a perfect combination of tangy, savory, and sweet creamy butter. Of course, everything thing in the Café is made from scratch with quality fresh ingredients. Mo said, "I love getting here early in the morning to create with flour, honey, butter, and spices. It's so wonderful to be able to express what you love." His food is made with love and passion and you can taste it in every bite. Mo serves, salads, smoothies, sandwiches, breakfast, baked pies, a full espresso bar, and coffee. The Mediterranean Quiche is next on my list to try. Next time you're in the mood for some delicious food and drink in a charming atmosphere, come by the Bread & Honey and let Mo take care of you. I absolutely loved my visit to the Bread&Honey Café! I am hungry for more, I will return again and again.

Bread & Honey Cafe is a hidden gem that has taken the local dining scene by storm! From the moment you step inside, you're enveloped in a cozy, rustic atmosphere that feels like a home away from home. The decor is charming, with warm wooden accents and inviting seating that encourages you to linger a little longer. The star of the show, of course, is the food. Known for its artisanal breads and delectable honey-infused treats, this cafe offers a menu that is both comforting and innovative. Their freshly baked bread is simply divine, with a perfect crust and soft, fluffy interior that pairs beautifully with their house-made spreads. Don’t miss out on their signature honey drizzles—using local honey, it adds a unique twist to every dish! The coffee selection is equally impressive, featuring locally roasted beans that are brewed to perfection. Whether you prefer a classic espresso or a creative seasonal latte, the skilled baristas here know how to craft the perfect cup. What truly sets Bread & Honey Cafe apart is its sense of community. Regular events like open mic nights and art showcases bring people together, making it a lively hub for creativity and connection. The friendly staff and welcoming vibe make every visit feel like catching up with old friends. If you're in search of a delightful spot to enjoy delicious food, great coffee, and a warm community atmosphere, Bread & Honey Cafe is a must-visit. Once you experience it, you’ll be coming back for more!

Fantastic high quality breakfast sandwiches, empanadas and other great pastries all made in house! The only thing I could mention is the price is a touch expensive but the quality is top top notch! Mo is super great as well!
Charlie H — Google review
Not the best breakfast cafe, not the worst. Food price was way too high for the quality and quantity of the food. We ordered grilled cheese, biscuits & gravy, and a smoothie. Both food items came out lukewarm and quite small portions. The smoothie was watery and lacked flavor. Overall mid quality-wise. The cafe itself has nothing interesting to note about it. It looks like every other modern cafe. The outdoor seating was nice but again, it had no personality to speak of. It was clean and quiet? That’s it. With the surplus of breakfast/brunch options in this area, it’s not worth a return for us.
Maggie B — Google review
Great place to have breakfast/coffee. Had their food here previously and it's always been solid. There's never a wait even on a Sunday.

I recently discovered Bread and Honey and I liked it so much I dragged my wife there and she loved it, too. We've had both sweet and savory pastries: the empenada and chicken pot pie stand out. Coffee's good, too.
Jim W — Google review
Unnecessary and rude response to asking whether they had a honey pie. Looked good on Google. Wanted to try it and asked if they had any, and thier response (green hair, cat hat) was "we have what we have". I said "cool answer." Ordered the breakfast panini that they microwaved and left. After my "cool answer" comment they went out of thier way to slam things around and have an attitude. This is BOH vibes, not FOH with customers vibes. Also, my eyes are dilated as I have just left kaiser, so I couldn't really tell what was or wasnt in the case. Update, just got to work and I really wish I could post of photo of this panini. Maybe if it wasnt microwaved it wouldn't look like a raw grilled chicken. 16.95 for something that I cannot eat. The first half that sat on top of second half in to go box was ok but when I picked up the second half I thought they missed a piece of bread, nope, its just soggy. If management would like a photo I will send it.

Seastar Bakery, founded by local food writer Adrian Hale and Annie Moss, is a gathering of professional and home bakers who share a commitment to using Northwest-grown whole-grain flours. They collaborate to source these unique flours, exchange baking tips, and support each other in various ways. The bakery offers a delightful selection of bread loaves that tend to sell out quickly, as well as delectable pastries like coffee cake that isn't overly sweet.
Absolutely amazing. I didn't know I was missing this wonderful food in my life but I was. I visited for the breakfast/ brunch with a friend and stayed long enough to smell the awesome pizza being served. The staff is very friendly and helpful with helping you make your menu choices.

This is a bit out of my way from where I live but my visit to Seastar Bakery has been definitely worth the trip. I had a day-old Grainbowl bread which still tasted delicious on the third day. I also had a lovely coffee cake that isn't too sweet. If you are interested in their bread loafs, they seem to sell out often so I was told that coming on Saturday morning is much better than Sunday. Update: Come back another time, got an everything bread loaf and a cornbread cake, as good as I remembered.

A fantastic combination bakery and pizza joint. There are two businesses here but I will rate the bakery. Service is quick and friendly. They have both ready made pastry and made to order breakfast. The food comes out warm cooked directly in a brick pizza oven. The interior is wood colors with a bit of whimsy (Dragon on the wall). Seating is decent but no large groups beyond 8 or so. Parking is limited to street but they are transit friendly.

Red Wheat Croissant: $5.10. Totally cool they went for it with a whole wheat croissant! Slightly too bready. Tasty crust. Just the inside layers were too undercooked, molding together into a tough dough. $4.25 plus obligatory 20% living wage surcharge; $5.1. Other baked goods are rock solid here though! And by “rock solid” I don’t mean hard, or stale, or anything that’ll chip a tooth. I mean fairly consistently tasty.
Curtis K — Google review
This is a good spot to get some healthy grains for brunch, but I wouldn't necessarily call the menu inventive or inspiring. I got the dilly beet egg and it was decent. Egg was cooked well, the flavors paired nicely, but it lacked a certain je ne sais quoi to put it all together. Service was really slow despite not being terribly busy. I wasn't insanely impressed with this visit, but I would try it again.

Pok Pok is a small, modern restaurant that has become a staple in Portland's food scene. With multiple locations across the country, it offers Southeast Asian-inspired dishes and innovative cocktails. Chef Andy Ricker's creative family-style menu includes popular items like fish sauce wings, Thai herbal salad with coconut dressing, and charcoal-grilled boar collar with mustard greens.
I LOVE this spot!! A friend recommended it while I was it town and it was outstanding. Simple but we'll prepared dishes with tons of flavor. The wings are excellent!!! Salty and crispy! Definitely try them! We also tried the prawns in a hot clay pot and it was sizzling and so yummy. Loved the glass noodles! We tried the Thai curry and the spicy peanuts. I loved everything here! We also had the mango with sticky rice. It was so delicious and a perfect finish!

One of the most unique Thai place I've been. Super casual environment and really friendly staff. We ordered the wings (like everybody else), pork belly with prawns in glass noodle and curry beef. Every dish was well cooked. Definitely want to come back and try the other dishes.

Really authentic flavors, unique Thai Street food that you can't normally get... Don't expect pad Thai or other such items. Their drink menu is also adventurous, thoughtful and creative with fusion elements bringing east and west flavors together. The decor makes you really feel that you are in a small village in Thailand. We also felt that the chicken with the 2 dipping sauces (second item on the menu) was the highlight for food, even better than the wings everyone raves about. Service was also very friendly and helpful. Thanks for a wonderful lunch!

This place is already known for good food so nothing much I can add further but I would like to share my 2cents for their small details. The water served was i think mixed with Coconut water or something with Coconut. Normally it will be just a tap or still water but this small difference looked their key to success. In addition, they served two corns with Coconut cream which we ordered one but the corns were small so we got two of them. Great service and food! SNGW!

I don't come down to Portland often. The last time I tried to go to Pok Pok several years ago, it was closed! This time I was successful in eating at Pok Pok, the indoor dining area is small & cozy. They have outside dining area plus take out. Apparently the takeout menu is different from the dining menu. They had a Tom Yum ramen for takeout that was not available for dining in. We had the famous chicken wings, it live up to it's reputation & diners review about it. They weren't kidding- it was OMG! We also ordered the Pok Pok special with half a BBQ chicken with 2 yummy & different dipping sauce served with the papaya salad & glutinous rice in a basket. The papaya salad was yummy... chicken was tender & juicy, their dipping sauces were good. One was spicy & the other was sweet & sour, both were good. Service was good, bring our first time there, the server recommended the Pok Pok special. All in all, a yummy experience! Until next time.

Delicious and spicy food! The dishes are a little overpriced and are on the smaller size. The wait is also ridiculous. On a Saturday night, the wait was 1.5 hours. On a Sunday afternoon, the wait was 30 min. I suggest going during off-peak hours if you really wanna try the food. Definitely delicious and worth the hype.

Tasty n Daughters is a vibrant restaurant that serves inventive American dishes in a spacious and lively setting. They offer daily brunch, dinner, and happy hours, with a unique tapas menu and full bar available even on Monday mornings. The restaurant's family-style dining concept allows patrons to enjoy dishes like lemon ricotta pancakes, frittata served in a cast-iron pan, and the popular bim bop bacon and eggs.
Best breakfast I've had in a long time! The tapas style menu is fantastic, allowing you to sample a wide variety of their fanciful gastronomic delights without becoming full. The polenta with sausage and egg is amazing, as is the venison gravy on the homemade biscuits! The wait staff is very friendly and helpful, as well. This place is more than worth the wait.

The restaurant looked very trendy and had a welcoming environment and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The downfall was the food. While it looked awesome and you could tell it had quality Ingredients, 2 out of 3 items we ordered were a miss. The burger was bland and lacked flavor other than the blue cheese and the French sausage sandwich was also bland (My GF added hot sauce to make it better). The French fries were good, was nice, but those are quite easy to make. I think this might be a great place for happy hour craft drinks, but I wouldn't recommend any of the food items that we tried.

I heard rave reviews about this place from friends so I decided to come here for my birthday. Tasty N' Sons... is amazing! The first thing you should know is the entrees are served family style, so the portions are LARGE. We ordered the following (and yes we over ordered but it was my birthday and these leftovers were so worth it) : Bacon wrapped dates, maple and cumin yams, Mac and cheese, fried chicken, cider braised pork chop with bacon jam atop a Johnny cake, one of each kind of biscuit and a pear berry fried pie with Chai tea ice cream. I would say the must haves are the dates, fried chicken, pork chop/Johnny cake and biscuits. Everything was good, but these were exceptional and I would gladly order them again. The fried chicken when paired with their pickle, some hot spice and honey was the perfect bite. Same goes for the pork chop with bacon jam and Johnny cake. In addition to the delicious food, the service was impeccable. I've never been to a restaurant where the balance of service was perfect: not overly smothered yet not abandoned and still being taken care of. The staff was incredibly friendly and informative. This was just the icing on the cake... or pie? Seriously, if you haven't figured it out by now, I LOVED Tasty N' Sons. It's a MUST in a city of incredible restaurants.

Tried to go for brunch on Sunday AM, and it was packed at 9, when they open, 1-hour wait. So, I came back Monday AM & was able to sit at the bar easily. Great spot - seriously awesome. Interesting and delicious food in a cool & friendly setting. Had the salmon board and the baked cherries with Taleggio. Also had to try the breakfast sandwich! Check it out immediately when in Portland!
Ivy K — Google review
This little, unassuming gem was better than the reviews raved. The service was welcoming from the minute we walked in and were quickly served. Their menu offs many fantastic twists on old classics and we were told the shakshuka was “possibly the dish that built this place.” Given that we ordered that alone with potatoes bravas (which was hot and delicious) and Aunt Paula’s French Toast (a dessert both sweet and delightful). The prices were very reasonable. Would highly recommend.
Dillon G — Google review
Tasty and Sons was incredible. I highly recommend you visit this location if you don’t feel like waiting in super long lines around the block at Tasty and Alder. I am from the Deep South, so I know hot chicken, and let me tell you, this Nashville hot chicken sandwich is one of the best I have ever had. I was blown away. The shakshuka was also amazing as well as the blackberry jam and biscuits. Also a cool feature is that they have a hallway behind the restaurant that connects the strip mall and shared restrooms.
Jamie J — Google review
I visited this place on our trip to Oregon and on my birthday and what i can say is that this is more of an experience than anything else. Every single item on the menue is so perfectly put together that you end up talking about your food days after. Great staff great drinks. Highly recommended. Go early so you don't end up waiting

Pacific Pie Company is a small, Australian-focused eatery that offers pies and salads. Their pies are some of the best in Portland, with choices like chocolate bourbon hazelnut and key lime. The shop also has a kids menu with great options like apple crumble and anzac biscuit pastries.
Excellent pie place. All the sweet pies I've tried have been great (butterscotch creme, chocolate peanut butter, and salted caramel chocolate), but the savory dishes have been excellent (lamb pie and shepherd's pie). Pie selection is good with varying seasonal additions. I continue to return regularly for a hot meal, sweet pies, and frozen meat pies to stock my freezer. Great place.
Scott Q — Google review
Wow! If you're in the area I would highly recommend stopping by this quaint restaurant. We tried their savory pies as well as their peanut butter pie, which was so insanely tasty! They have a variety of savory pies with meat as well as vegan pie offerings. Our waitress was very sweet and personable. I also love the animal shapes they put on the savory pies! So cute.
Nicole F — Google review
Enjoyed a delicious savory lamb pie and unique and tasty side salad here! Very large portions and friendly service! Wasn’t as impressed by the dessert pies as I thought I’d be, but I’ll give them another shot since I’ve heard such good things!
Emily L — Google review
I very much enjoyed my time here! I had the lamb pie and my friend got the pulled pork pie and both were quite good. I also got the split-pea soup and broccoli which was delicious but I'd skip the soup in the future purely because the rest was so filling. The staff is super friendly and they play a nice mix of oldies hits me which is a bit weird but is so fun I didn't care 😊
Patrick K — Google review
This is one of my favorite spots for a homemade meal. They make a mean sweet or savory pie. You will wait about 15minutes for your food because everything is made to order but definitely worth the wait. Indoor and outdoor seating. Polite waitresses. Good food. You can get there savory pies to go to bake at home.
Tiffany C — Google review
I ordered a pumpkin pie for thanksgiving and the dough on the bottom was completely raw. The filling tasted alright, but this is still unacceptable for a near $30 undersized pie. This was really disappointing on all levels.
Alan V — Google review
We were in Portland for only few hours and having lunch here was the best decision. Amazing service, tasty food. Chicken pie and pulled pork pie were sooo good. We got spicy popcorn for snack while waiting for our food. Our server was friendly and kind. All in all, great experience.
Nevena G — Google review
Sweet and savoury pies, about $5 per slice. Tried the chocolate cream pie and the crust on the bottom was a bit on the soft side. Cream was thick. Good but not especially memorable. Lots of options.

St. Honoré Bakery is a charming French bakeshop that offers an array of delectable treats, including coffee, quiche, fresh-baked sweets, breads, and salads. The bakery is renowned for its outstanding pastries and breads. Customers rave about the world-class sweet pastries like chocolate eclairs and chocolate soufflés. The baguette sandwiches with brie are also highly recommended for their excellent crust and chewy texture.
We were in the neighborhood, and my friend had never been here, so we stopped in to grab some pastries and a warm drink on this chilly day. It was late afternoon, and there still was a great selection of pastries to choose from. It's hard to make a decision so I bought four, as did my friend. I'll surprise my son and daughter in law with them later. Exceptional as always. And that St. Honre pastry is still out of this world delicious!
Tammy S — Google review
Great vibes, nice service, and amazing baked goods! The sandwiches and coffee had great flavor and everything tasted fresh. Grabbing some food here will satisfy your hunger. The breads are SO flaky!
Rosemari M — Google review
This is a not to miss French Bakery shop. I had the Tart Tatin, a savory vegetable tart which had the perfect amount of cheese and onions, zucchini and tomatoes, balance was perfect. Husband had a turkey and cheese croissant which came crispy and hot. He finished with a chocolate eclair and we took home a pain au chocolate and kouign amman, a sweet buttery pastry that you just cannot make at home. Plenty of seating although we did sit at their communal table. Lots of happy local and a healthy take out business. $2 per hour street parking. I also bought a loaf of levain batard for sandwiches, there were about 8 varieties of freshly baked bread that were getting snapped up. Decent coffee. Cute place, nice people, if you are shopping on 23rd, this is a great lunch place. I will definitely return for our French pastry fix.
Sharon D — Google review
This French bakery is a great spot with an amazing selection of pastries, including eclairs, fruit tarts, and freshly baked macarons. They also offer authentic French baguettes, a variety of bakery items, and an impressive selection of sandwiches and entrees. I tried their Croque Monsieur, a classic French style grilled ham and cheese sandwich and it was really good. It was a bit too cheesy for my taste, but the flavors were excellent and satisfying. The service was friendly and added to the positive experience. Parking can be a bit pricey, as you’ll need to find street parking, which costs about $2 per hour, so plan accordingly. Overall, it was a great experience, and I’m looking forward to trying their baguette sandwich on my next visit!
Chul L — Google review
I travel to France every month and was missing it while spending time in Oregon so I searched for French bakeries. I was happy and surprised to find this one. It did have the air and menu of a boulangerie and viennoiserie. I enjoyed my latte and pain au chocolat while sitting outside. C’est bon.
Claire J — Google review
Cute spot to relax or work! Amazing Savory Tart and excellent coffee! Perfect ambiance
N K — Google review
Extremely authentic French Bakery/cafe, very much like what you would see in France. The food is delicious. I had the turkey and cheese croissant and the Strawberry millefueille and both were fantastic, highly recommend. Everything is baked fresh that morning. There is some indoor and outdoor seating available. There is a water station and you bus your own table.
Lydia M — Google review
Wow what a disappointing experience! You can hammer nails in walls with their croissants and the eclair was straight from the fridge. The steamed milk for kids was made piping hot. Tables are not wiped down in between customers. Of course people have to bus their own tables and I guess expected to wipe down tables as well. None of it stops them from asking for 18% min tip. Will not be going back there, sorry.

Pip's Original Doughnuts & Chai is a trendy coffee cafe known for its freshly made mini-donuts and a variety of chai and espresso drinks. Located in Northeast Portland, this cozy two-room shop is always bustling with customers eager to try their piping hot, made-to-order mini donuts.
We chose Pip’s Mobile instead of a traditional wedding cake because we wanted our wedding to be interactive and fun for our guests. Having the doughnut truck parked right at the venue let everyone pick their favorite doughnut and drink flavors at their own pace, which created such a lively and joyful vibe. The ordering process was a breeze. I paid a deposit to secure our date, and the team emailed me closer to the wedding to discuss seasonal flavor options. Everything was clear and easy from start to finish. On the day of, setup was simple and smooth. Pip’s Mobile just pulled up and parked at the entrance to the warehouse door, and guests walked down the driveway to place their orders. The staff was incredibly kind and welcoming, making the experience feel even more special. The doughnuts and drinks were endless for the entire hour, keeping everyone happy and coming back for more. The moment they were ready, the line quickly formed, and stayed packed because everyone was so excited. The doughnuts and drinks were absolutely delicious. The quality was superb, and as a lovely surprise, Pip’s created custom signature flavors just for my husband and me. That personal touch made it even more memorable. Plus, their Emmy Lou Chai is one of my all-time favorites! I would absolutely recommend Pip’s Mobile to any couple looking for a unique, delicious, and interactive dessert option. Our photographer captured some of my favorite wedding moments with the truck and doughnuts, and it’s definitely one of the sweetest memories of our day.
Lauren G — Google review
Yes, yes! Must go if you’re in Portland! They were the most scrumptious little mini donuts, with the perfect amount of sweetness that will leave you wanting more! The chai was really good too! However, be ready to wait in line for awhile depending on when you go.
Grace L — Google review
What else can I say about their donuts! Their bite-sized donuts taste so great when eaten fresh. I have been going there for years now. My favorite donut flavor will always be bacon donuts. I can't wait to get more donuts soon.
Dory T — Google review
Small line out the door on a Saturday before 11am but it went by fairly quickly. Appreciate the freshly made-to-order doughnut drops! Cinnamon sugar was the hitter. Not too sweet. Crunchy but soft while hot and fresh and at the end of the day. Delicious!! New rules: make sure to get your Birthday Dozen ON your actual Birth Day! So worth it!
Gone S — Google review
So sweet they give you 12 free donuts with your ID on your birthday and they are so good! Small but good! Place was kinda loud and bustling obviously very popular but good service too the wait wasn’t too bad
Stephanie W — Google review
On a Monday around 11am the line was very long. About 45 minutes from being in line to getting my order. That being said the donuts are very good, great variety of flavors and the base donut is soft with a crisp outside. The drink I tried was a little watery but the flavors were good. Staff is also really nice, and the birthday offer is generous. Will definitely be back!
Alisa H — Google review
We came here on a Sunday noon and waited around 15 ish minutes. The wait was worth it. We ordered flavors in maple bacon mocha cream and the May season pancake. These are small sized doughnuts. Everything was delicious especially the maple bacon ones. Sweet and savory at the same time. Surprisingly delicious. And chai teas worked really well with doughnuts Thanks to the store for the free dozen as one of our party celebrated her birthday.
Satsuki H — Google review
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A lot of places advertise birthday freebies, but Pip’s Original is the only spot I know that always honors it without making you jump through hoops. Year after year, they deliver. Not only are the donuts some of the best you’ll ever find, but the staff here is truly above reproach — kind, welcoming, and they make you feel genuinely appreciated. If you’re doing the crazy birthday freebie route, Pip’s is a must-stop. That said, even if it’s not your birthday, this is worth the trip. The donuts are outstanding, the chai is excellent, and the atmosphere is warm and fun. Pro tip: if you come in for the birthday dozen, remember to tip the staff — they absolutely deserve it. Pip’s Original is more than a donut shop, it’s an experience, and they never disappoint.

Pix Patisserie is a vibrant bakery and tapas bar located on East Burnside. The establishment features a mini vineyard, a dessert counter with an array of French pastries and chocolates, and even a petanque court. At the adjacent Bar Vivant, guests can enjoy small Spanish snacks like bacon-wrapped dates and open-faced sandwiches alongside dry white wine from Basque Country.
Color me truly impressed. I had a hankering for something sweet past 10pm and dropped by here to find a 24/7 spot with 2 vending machines. I got a crème brûlée, macrons, un fatôme, and the concord. The concord was so impressive, I had to stop so I could savor the textures and flavors. I certainly will be stopping by the shop when it's not nighttime!
Jaime L — Google review
I think not worth 12 dollars. Maybe some dishes are. It's definitely a cute novelty though. I think I could see this being great at night when everything else is closed. Creme brulee ⭐⭐⭐✨ - just ok - little too sweet - liked the citrus Shazam ⭐⭐⭐ - liked the nuts wish there was more - didn't love the crust
Nicole — Google review
I drove by late at night after a date. For being 1 in the morning it's a very well lit area. I loved the pictures and descriptions of desserts printed out of the table so I can see what was in the cake boxes. Lots of fun silly stuff too. Will come back with my daughter and get cake and treats for a picnic
Maggie M — Google review
This place in bonkers and fun in the best way possible. The desserts are incredibly worth it. Pop next door to the Heart Cafe for some tea or coffee to go with.

OG PDX meets modern convenience it's classic Portland 😎 Cool Definitely worth the stop! With about a weekly time, you can customize an order and pick up your delicious creations.
Greg P — Google review
Bought 2 cakes from the vending machine. The concord cake was so bad that we couldn’t take 2nd bite of it. Waste of money. The crème brûlée was okay, yet overpriced. Wouldn’t recommend anyone.
Rituparna D — Google review
The space itself is cozy but bright, perfect for a quick bite or catching up with a friend (I brought my planner and stayed way too long). Staff was super welcoming without being overbearing. I’ve lived in Portland my whole life, and this place feels like one of those hidden gems you almost want to keep to yourself. But honestly? It deserves all the love.
Taryn C — Google review
A fun place and the desserts are absolutely delicious. We liked the tiki tiki best. The machines are fun to scroll through and see all the foods, toys and desserts inside. There are to-go sporks available in a basket but not individually sealed, so that's dodgy. Prices are a little high.
