Le Banneton Café & French Bakery in Luang Prabang is a popular spot with a strong French influence, evident in its delectable pastries and traditional breakfast offerings. The café attracts a significant number of French expats, creating an authentic Parisian ambiance. Known for its exceptional croissants and other pastries, it also serves up delicious Western meals and quality coffee.
One of my favourite cafes. Really nice atmosphere with a nice view on the street and the temple. Nice coffee and good matcha! A lot of choices for breakfast or lunch. Definitely the best croissants! You can also buy here some French products and some good cheese.

Every please read before making your reviews in LAOS!!! I saw many French people are giving bad reviews to this place, then came to see by myself. I have to say that please don't believe on these people's opinions. I have been many cities in France where nobody where able to speak any single word - even they weren't not able to say hello in English - and these people are coming here and complaining about why locals don't speak in English. Believe me Laos people speaks better in English then most of the French people in France. I saw many French youngsters who can't behave properly in Laos, when you are visiting new country try to learn their culture and respect, behave accordingly, if you don't respect ofcourse you will be kicked-out in every single place. Sorry but i must say these after reading all these reviews - which made me to think double before coming here. I'm happy that I came to see by myself. Laos people are learning, improving themselves all the times and it will get better and better. Try to respect for it, most of them are youngsters who wants to build their life. About the bakery - I loved a lot , they have many varieties, prices are very good that locals also can effort to eat. Coffee quality is amazing 😍 cakes are well done as in France. Thank you guys for this great place. Keep going.
Royal I — Google review
Excellent bakery, the pear tarts were fantastic!! Baguette was made with flour and chewy unlike the soft rice flour ones in other places. Indoor and outdoor seating in a quiet end of the heritage area. There’s an import shop inside as well.
Su S — Google review
An iconic cafe. Great atmosphere with a nice view of the street and the temple. Used my hotel bicycle to get there and parked it just outside the entrance so that I could keep a watch on it - the bicycle did not have a lock. Nice espresso coffee served using tiny and dainty cutlery. The French Toasts (thought the French would call them "English Toasts) tasted great with dollops of accompanying honey. Their baguettes and croissants looked tasty so I packed them up for lunch time eating on the China train I was to take later in the day. Definitely great croissants! The service too was cheery. Glad to have 'been there done that'!
Priyan N — Google review
Very dainty French bakery with expertly baked pastry and various meal options. Our matchas were very satisfying. Two humble wishes: Please introduce Lao coffee to the menu Please put crushed ice, not ice cubes, in your cold long drinks.

Visited this place twice during my stay. The goat cheese salad is great! Staffs are very attentive and friendly. It is a good spot to hide from the rain yet soaking in the old town vibe
Cherm N — Google review
This place was on our list after reading all the good reviews. When we walked in we were greeted by the polite staff and saw their amazing looking menu. Atmosphere: Good atmosphere. Nice decorations. Service: Generally good service. They were polite and sat us down and gave us complimentary water. There were a few things that they could improve but it's mostly just minor things. For example they could top up the water once it is finished. Also the cutlery they originally gave us was dirty, but they did reconcile it once we brought it up to be fair. Food: My oh my was the food terrible. And we were really hungry also 😫 I originally asked for a french pancake with goat cheese and the waitress informed me that they did not have it. So I asked for her recommendation and she pointed to the paninis. I ordered a Panini with smoked ham, and the waitress came a few moments later to inform me that they did not have smoked ham, only cooked ham and if that was ok, to which I declined. So I ordered a quiche with goat cheese and spinach, and when it arrived I was immediately disappointed with the portion, but then it didn't even matter because I didn't finish it as it was completely tasteless. The person with me ordered a chicken burger which was also pretty tasteless, although not as bad as mine. TL;DR Café looks amazing but the food they serve is terrible, but with good presentation.
Adíb M — Google review
This is a centrally located French inspired cafe that serves an assortment of beverages including coffees and teas (both hot and cold) and juices. In addition, it has a nice selection of salads, sandwiches, quiches, pizzas and French pancakes (crepes). The cafe also includes a small shop that sells various products imported from France such as hygienic items, canned goods, biscuits and wines. I had the tuna salad and club sandwich with ham and cheese. They were both fresh and tasty. I had a ginger tea and creamy hot chocolate and both were excellent. The service staff was friendly, efficient and English speaking. There is both indoor and outdoor seating available. This is a perfect place to relax with a coffee, have a pastry and connect with a laptop.

Cafe
Saffron Coffee, now known as Saffron Espresso, Brew Bar, and Roastery, has relocated to a new spot on riverfront Khem Kong Road in Luang Prabang. The revamped location features a casually cool atmosphere with terra-cotta floor tiles and an impressive roasting machine. The cafe offers exceptional coffee made from organic, shade-grown arabica beans cultivated by hill-tribe families in northern Laos.
Food is great. Coffee is great. The people are great! The pancakes were nice and fluffy with an excellent chocolate sauce. Normally my sons would struggle to finish but they devoured them The bagel was delicious with kind of a tomato garnish. Delicious.

A very relaxing cafe with 2 floors. There's air conditioning at the 2nd floor. The desserts on display all looks so good. We ordered an Iced Latte, Cascara Granola Bar & Carrot Cake. The food & coffee were delicious. Would have loved to try more of their dessert menu. A great cafe to try when in Luang Prabang.
Aibi Y — Google review
Great coffee in the town! I had ice Americano and it was very refreshing and nice. I bought a bag of coffee beans which was roasted just a week before the purchase and tried on my own espresso machine once I returned to my home. It was so good, I wish I bought more. Highly recommended!
Rihyang K — Google review
Way too expensive for the quality of the food, We've heard a lot of good things about this restaurant on social media. We were very surprised to see that the prices online and in the restaurant have gone up. I ordered a ceaser salad, which came very small, with bacon, not chicken. My partner also ordered a very small sandwich, and you have to add a supplement for 4 fries. I do not recommend this cafe at all; you can find much better options for less.
Morgane V — Google review
Such a lovely place to enjoy a lazy day. Great cider & tea. Carrot cake a bit dry to my taste. Beautiful view watch the boats float by. Highly recommended for the view!

Excellent falafel wrap, pretty cheap for the quality (60 000kip, really generous portion). They have an upstairs room with windows on the Mekong River, nice too study or work or just have a great time. They have a nice terrace on the river as well.
Sana D — Google review
We came here after arriving in Luang by sleeper bus from Hanoi. After a total of 36 hours travel this place was exactly what we needed. We had scrambled eggs on toast which sounds simple but was honestly so delicious. Their homemade sourdough is amazing and the egg was perfectly cooked. We also tried some of their cakes, the carrot cake and banana bread were both lovely. It is also situated by the river and is a lovely place to enjoy a meal.
Hamish G — Google review
I might have expected too much because of the good reviews about the carrot cake, but it was just okay. The one with cream was sold out, but they gave me some on the side. The cake itself was a bit dry, and the cream was a firm, barely sweetened whipped cream with almost no flavor. They accept credit cards, which is convenient. Staff were polite, the atmosphere was pleasant, and the cappuccino was good.

Joma Bakery Café in Luang Prabang is a popular spot offering vegetarian dining options and end-of-the-day discounts on baked goods. With two locations on the main street, one near the post office and the other near Wat Sene, it's convenient for visitors to find. The café provides outdoor seating with fans for a comfortable experience in the heat or indoor seating with air-conditioning and charging sockets.
Standardised Western Establishment with standardised prices Lasagne was 98000kip. Pretty pricey in local context but considering the establishment, well worth the price. Lasagne was nice, I really enjoyed their garlic bread which was well toasted and mightily flavourful. Serving time was decent, nice ambience with an air-con room on the second level.
Owen — Google review
We'd previously been to a Joma coffee shop so didn't hesitate to try again. Very consistent standards. I really enjoyed my coffee and lemon meringue pie and a very comfortable environment. Highly recommended.
Geordie A — Google review
One of the town's most well-liked cafés. It has a Latin feel about it, both inside and out. A a more cozy second story is available. The pastries are excellent. Both the avocado shake and the brownie I had were delicious. You may use your Thai bank application for payment using QR code scan.
Jimgal ( — Google review
The atmosphere outside looks inviting as well how the pastries look like when you get in. They have wide space on the 2nd floor to dine in but the smell isn’t that good. The price coffee and food are pretty much pricey. I even ordered a large size of hot macchiato but I got a small one or I don’t know if they have a smaller size than that.
Jeryl G — Google review
Just ordered a Thai tea for take out. Was pretty decent not as the ones you get in Thailand but was good. The staff was pretty fast in making the tea with many people standing in queue.
Nathan M — Google review
We only had two bakery items - orange cake and mulberry pie. They were ok not that great. Ambience is nice and so is the service.
Sreelakshmi — Google review
Prices here significantly higher, but found the quality disappointing. We had a chicken breast/pesto sandwich. Sandwich was soft, with like the ones you can buy on the street for a quarter of the price. Menu rather Western-oriented. Staff uninterested. You have to queue to order. Good air conditioning, nice decor and relaxed atmosphere. There are better things out there.
Berry B — Google review
I bought lemon tarts, a red velvet cake, but the clerk packed chocolate brownies for me. I didn't find it until I got home. Very bad. Careless clerk

Le Cafe/Bistro Ban Vat Sene is a colonial-style cafe located near the main Sisavangvong Road in Luang Prabang. It is associated with the upscale LElephant restaurant and offers a posh, European open-air dining room where guests can enjoy French, Western, and Lao dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
We loved this cafe. Great place for a late brunch/lunch. I had a set menu with coffee, salad and fish with rice. The food was delicious. We also ordered a croissant which was superb. A very cozy, clean cafe to sit and watch the streets. I highly recommend this chilled place with great food and kind waiters. It is also super clean, but most of all, the food was delicious

Cafe Ban Vat Sene is a charming spot in the heart of Luang Prabang, offering a cozy, laid-back atmosphere that’s perfect for relaxing or people-watching. The location is ideal, right on the main street, and the cafe itself has a nice mix of local charm with comfortable seating. The menu includes both Lao and Western dishes, so there’s something for everyone, whether you’re in the mood for a local specialty or a Western comfort dish. While the food is a bit on the pricey side for Luang Prabang, the quality and ambiance make it worth a visit. A great spot to take a break, sip a coffee, and enjoy the surroundings!
The G — Google review
Nestled on the quieter end of the market, it has good ambience with decent food. Set menu was just rightly portioned, has a mix of Italian and local food.
Zheng T — Google review
Top brunch spot, the Feta and Bacon baguette was incredible. I didn’t realise I was craving it until I’d had it! The crunchy baguette and soft bread rolls were a real treat, as it can be difficult to find the style of bread we’re used to. Only problem is it’s our last day in Luang Prabang so we won’t get to return tomorrow:)
Conor L — Google review
Lovely restaurant with good service. Great for lunch or dinner. You can choose to sit outside, downstairs or in the lovely cool upstairs. Really enjoyed a relaxing lunch. Can recommend the Feta salad.
Sheila S — Google review
Laos has the unique taste of French culture infused within the city streets. It permeates in all of the architecture, a large number of tourist and of course all things culinary. We broke away from our routine search of Thai and Laotian this evening and opted to try one of the French bistros along the Sakarine road. We just so happened to stop at Ban Vat Sene and we’re very pleased with our choice. My girlfriend was craving a little something closer to home so she ordered the spaghetti bolognese and a small Neapolitan pizza, and I ordered pho with chicken as well as duck and yellow noodle. All the dishes were prepared and plated beautifully. Everything tasted amazing and felt fresh. We were fortunate enough to have a seat on the walkway itself, enabling us to soak up all the street action while enjoying every bite. The staff and service were top notch and for four dishes and waters, our total was less than 24 dollars Canadian, which I still can’t wrap my head around. It almost feels criminal to eat such high quality at such a low price. Please go support, you will not regret it! To Alex, thank you for seating us and tending to us so graciously. Wishing you all the success in your education and your future. Much love!
Yannick C — Google review
We came here a second time after lunch just to try their desserts and baguette. The food is really good but can be pricey for South east Asia. I thought it was worth it just for the food alone. The baguette are freshly baked and insanely delicious, the baguette alone gets 5 stars. Desserts and the garlic baguette were pretty good as well.
P — Google review
Le Cafe Ban Vat Sene is a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Laos (very close to Wat Sensoukharam (Ban Vat Sene temple)), offering a unique twist on Italian cuisine that pleasantly surprises the taste buds. After a long morning exploring the city, we stepped into the cozy ambiance of Le Cafe Ban Vat Sene where we were greeted warmly by the staff and comfortably seated at a table close to the bar/kitchen. Our party of 8, opted for the set menu consisting of our choice of: Salada Oceane: Tuna, Tomatoes, Mushrooms, Onion and Black Olives followed by a choice between Spaghetti a la Carbonara or Lasagne de Boeuf (Beef Lasagna) followed by a choice between Slade de Fruits Frais (fresh fruit salad) or Sorbet au citron vert (lime sorbet). The carbonara dish combined the creamy richness of traditional carbonara with the aromatic flavors of Laotian spices and herbs. The pasta was cooked al dente, and the sauce was velvety smooth, with pieces of crispy pork belly adding a delightful crunch. Overall, dining at Le Cafe Ban Vat Sene was a delightful surprise from the attentive and efficient service to the inviting ambiance and delicious cuisine make it a must-visit for anyone looking to explore the culinary diversity of Laos.

Indigo Cafe is a popular spot in Luang Prabang, situated near the Royal Palace. It's renowned for its diverse menu and delectable bakery items, particularly its fresh bread and pastries. The cafe is always bustling with travelers seeking tasty meals throughout the day, including vegan and vegetarian options. Visitors rave about their hot Lao coffee served with optional condensed milk and mouthwatering buttery croissants. Overall, it's highly recommended for a delightful dining experience.
The place is very nice. Prices are quite high. Food is tasty. We had just few juices and pizza. And pizza is big which is good. Because I was afraid of a tiny overpriced one. But luckily this place is pretty good.

the food and the place is amazing! the portions are really big and the staff is super friendly! we’ve been in luang prabang for 3 days and we came every day to get a drink/dinner/pastry. super recommended not only for local food but for pizza and pasta as well!

We came here as we wanted a nice rooftop/terrace to watch the sunset with a drink. It was perfect - big beerlao for 50k lak, was pretty quiet when we went so got a nice seat with a great view of the sunset, service was good in there, overall had a really nice evening here.
Leo G — Google review
A treasure in the Old Quarter. Dropped in after seeing the beautiful French pastries (including gluten friendly!) on display while walking by. Initially wanted to stop for coffee and a snack, but we ended up ordering some traditional Lao dishes. Menu has a mix of both local and Western cuisine and everything looked tasty. We had the Lao chicken noodle soup and it was amazing. Thai milk tea and seasonal special lychee longan drink were refreshing and not too sweet. Everything was fresh, fragrant, and beautifully presented. Our server Namfon was super lovely. We'll definitely be coming back later for dinner!

Have been here several times. The food, drinks, coffee, cakes, everything is very fresh and delicate. The stuff is friendly, helpfull and offer a fast service. Not to mention it is very clean everywhere. A big recommendation.

October 2025 Only had a blueberry shake and a croissant, and sampled a caramel croissant. Blueberry shake is sensational - prob best from 3 months in LP. Worth the price. Butter croissant is tasty for 45k. Caramel 🥐 comes with thick caramel and Macadamia nuts for 50k. It's superb. Although a lot of the menu is priced higher than other places in LP, that caramel croissant is a bargain.
B W — Google review
We dined twice at Indigo Cafe during our stay at Luang Prabang. The location is extremely prime near the Night market and opposite the evening street food market stalls. Indigo cafe gave us a much needed change of taste apart from local food options serving us extremely well made pasta and sandwiches. The croissant at Indigo cafe was amazing and worth a try when you pass by and it's difficult to miss this restaurant in the first place. It's almost like a landmark. Evenings they have a stall outside with baked products some of them at discounted rates which were probably made the previous day and needed to be consumed soon enough. Prices are higher as compared to other restaurants but the service and atmosphere at the restaurant live up to it.
Raunak B — Google review
Whilst we were visiting Luang Prabang we came here on a couple of occasions and we had great food and desserts each time. The white chocolate blondie and the dark mint brownies are the best. The only ‘downside’ if you want to call it that is that it is a bit on the expensive side for the area or Laos you are in however you do get what you pay for.

Zurich Bread Factory & Cafe is a stylish and comfortable spot that offers an array of Italian and Spanish coffee, hot sandwiches, and freshly baked bread including Ciabatta, Multigrain Bread, Rye Bread, and Seed Bagel. The cafe also has a lingering French influence from the 1950s. It's known for its delicious almond croissants and top-notch Illy coffee. The upstairs area provides privacy or space for groups.
After finding this spot we didn’t go to any other restaurant, so good it was. Absolutely everything we tried was delicious. Prices aren’t low, but you get what you pay for, for us it was well worth it. Rack of lamb was one of the best I’ve ever had. Highly recommend!

If you need a break from Lao food, and from time to time, most of us do, here you have a restaurant with an array of pastries and breads to match most European bakeries. In addition, their menu features a tempting range suitable for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Their coffees are of very high quality. The staff are welcoming, friendly and efficient.

I had an excellent pasta here. Its pizza is very good too. They have many dishes to choose from. Price is a bit high side for Luang Prabang, but it’s well worth it. Be there early if you like to have pretzels, they sell out quickly. Outside table is perfect for people watching.
Eiko R — Google review
Far too expensive. It's more expensive than Zurich, and that's in Laos, one of the poorest countries. No wonder we were sitting there alone because it's a complete rip-off. And the café was half the size of another café shop, walk 200 meters further, it's better there and a third of the price.

Sofitel Luang Prabang is a luxurious hotel that seamlessly blends French sophistication with Laotian cultural heritage. Housed in a century-old colonial mansion, the hotel offers chic suites with private gazebos and hot tubs set amidst manicured gardens and fortified walls. The elegant flood-lit pool provides a relaxing retreat after exploring the town's gilded temples and palm-stuffed alleys.
We had a wonderful, relaxing stay at the Sofitel Luang Prabang. The resort is very spacious and there are just over 20 rooms. This makes it incredibly quiet and a wonderful place to unwind. All the staff are incredibly friendly and attentive. The service is beyond 5-star, simply fantastic. The free shuttle service and the rabbits on site are the highlights. Thank you for the wonderful stay!
Ivar K — Google review
The property is architecturally beautiful and historically significant. The grounds are kept well. Since there are only 25 rooms it has an intimate feel to it and the staff pretty much knows all of the guests. I opted for one of the 4 pool suites which helps cooling down in the middle of the day. However, the pool could have been cleaner, it had black organic matter at the edges of the water level and partially all over. So I found myself having black feet and hands when I got out of the pool. On the positive side, the pool is totally private and visually cut-off. The rooms are a bit dark but that is understandable, considering the historic overlay of the property. Except for one staff member, I found that the staff was really going out of their way to make the guest experience a memorable one. While I am generally not a big fan of hotel spas, this one is really fantastic, both for the quality of the treatment and the setting.

Our family had a wonderful stay at Sofitel Luang Prabang. The hotel’s heritage status and elegant design aesthetic created such a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere. We loved how the colonial and Lao aesthetics were beautifully blended throughout the property. Service was outstanding—warm, professional, and attentive. The car service made exploring Luang Prabang easy and enjoyable, especially with kids. Special thanks to Max, Tee and the Governor's Grill staff. We had a really enjoyable and relaxing stay at this hotel and we would highly recommend it!
Lilian L — Google review
I'm a travel professional and visited this Sofitel on 27th March for one night. Overall I think this hotel is GREAT value and a GREAT experience. They have a massive pool and super quiet grounds right in the heart of Luang Prabang. Breakfast is copious and varied. The rooms are a little dated - but not horrendously so. The indoor /outdoor bath and shower deal was really nice. Their light switches need updating as they're set at toddler height and don't easily show when they're on or off. The roaming rabbits were a charming touch. The staff were all really pleasant, efficient and client-focused. I continue to be puzzled as to why ACCOR forces local staff to use the deplacé "Bonjour" French greeting in Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam - all part of FORMER French Indochina. Their management claims it's an expression of "le French touch" and that staff are very forgiving and oblivious to history. However, I think it's about as appropriate as Marriott instructing its Vietnam staff to greet guests with "Howdy, how y'all doin'?" If ACCOR insists on this everywhere else that's up to them but there are some countries, former protectorates or colonies, where it's just daft. When I'm in Vietnam I want to hear Vietnamese or at a pinch English - the world's second language. Having spoken to a number of ACCOR staff in all three countries who have to do this, I know they resent it. That aside, I can highly recommend the SOFITEL Luang Prabang.
P B — Google review
Our room (room 19) wasn’t cleaned until we called in the morning, and when housekeeping finally arrived, they entered noisily—chatting with each other and even taking a loud phone call while I was trying to work inside the room. Later that evening, they forgot to do turn down service as well. When we called the front desk to request it, they told us they were unable to reach housekeeping. Breakfast was the same everyday. Super boring and not many choices! Last but not least, a member of the hotel staff attempted to enter our room without knocking while we were inside. This was completely unacceptable and a clear violation of our privacy. At check-out, I tried to speak with the front desk staff about the incident, but she didn’t even look at me—an extremely rude response. When I asked to speak with the manager, she said the manager was unavailable. I then requested to speak with a supervisor or anyone from management, and she made a phone call without any explanation or acknowledgment, leaving us waiting until our airport car arrived. Throughout the entire interaction, she never offered an apology or even a simple thank you for our stay. I have stayed at Sofitel before and always had good experiences, but this was the first time I encountered such unprofessional and disappointing service at Sofitel Luang Prabang. Never again!

Wonderful 5 day stay. Shout out to Lee for her hospitality and arranging for us to settle in. All staff including restaurant staff and drivers who ferried us to and from the old town and the various restuarants in town. Hotel is exclusive and private with an old world charm.

Stayed in Sofitel Luang Prabang for two nights, the hotel was a colonial building renovated(used to be French governor house and a prison). Although the hotel is a bit far from the old town center, they do provide free shuttle bus to 3 nagas, their sister property in the heart of old town. The space and garden are beautiful, we feel very peaceful while in the hotel. A large hotel with only 25 rooms, each room/villa is so spacious althouth the interior is a bit dated. Every corner exudes rich historical colonial ambiance. The pool is very large and beautiful. Jumping into the refreshing pool during hot afternoons is absolutely delightful The staff are truly impressive - everyone is incredibly friendly, whether it's the front desk reception, spa masseur or restaurant staff, all demonstrate exceptional service standards. I’d like to express special gratitude to Min(or mim? I am not sure). He is the bar manager in Governor’s grill while we had dinner. He is so friendly and shared with us a lot of his stories and myanmar condition, which we truly enjoyed. We had oil massage in the spa, which is very good overall. The price is on the expensive side but not outrageous. The therapists are skilled and using high-quality essential oil. The entire session left us wonderfully relaxed. The best surprise was the adorable rabbits on the hotel's lawn! They leisurely walk around the grass, and watching these fluffy little creatures instantly melts away all fatigue and stress.

We came as a couple to visit Luang Prabang for 4 days. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcomed by the management team, and every interaction thereafter with restaurant staff, housekeeping, front desk etc. was warm and highly personalised. Hospitality at its best. The property itself is a stunning oasis of luxury, the restaurant food quality was super, and the additional services such as transportation or tour arrangements were much appreciated.

Just a short distance from Wat Manorom, this charming establishment features a lovely terrace and well-appointed rooms equipped with coffee machines and free Wi-Fi to enhance your stay. The on-site restaurant boasts an inviting atmosphere, perfect for enjoying breakfast or lunch with both indoor and outdoor seating options.
Don’t even think about it. Book this room before someone else does! This hotel is a hidden treasure that is located in the Heart of town where you walk out the door and everything is there. Outstanding restaurant downstairs that was so good you see people eating several meals a day there despite the fact that there are hundreds of restaurants all around you. Their Australian Ribeye steak was to die for. The French bread was soft and freshly made. Nong the Owner was so attentive to all our needs and would make it a point to ask us every day if we needed anything and provided great tips about the area. You leave this hotel feeling that you’ve made a special friend in him. The room was spacious, soft mattress, lots of hot water and very clean. A porch where you sit overlooking the night market. We are already planning our next trip there. Can’t wait! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

The service is good, the waiter is also welcoming and friend, but that is the only good thing about this place. The food taste awfal, almost flavorless, drinks also have no flavor at all, nothing can make this restaurant stands out, I ordered 2 chocolate cake and 1 lemon slice but all of them are dry and have some weird after taste. I will never go to this place again

Generally very good some of the staff are really good but some are really poor. Food is hit and miss, so I had finished my food before my wife's had arrived. Avoid the French bread pizza terribly, very salty, and not very nice Buggers are good, as is the fried rice. When we said the pizza was not good, it was ignored!

Nice air-conditioned (well, fans!) indoor (out outdoor) eating establishment with an assortment of common breakfast fare and lunch dishes. I simply ordered a cheese burger (I know!!!) - I’m usually quite adventurous and don’t actually eat burgers or fast food, period, back home - and although you likely don’t believe me, I’ve only ever been in a McDonalds to buy my dog a plain beef patty (on a road trip)! Anyhow, I’m trying to listen to my stomach and it’s saying ‘French Fries’, so……..

After diner, kids asked for ice cream. After taking a closer look at the cups delivered, the ice cream was melted and had a strange, gassy appearance. I asked the waiter to take them back. We seriously avoided a case of food poisoning. On note, ice creams were still on the bill. On top of that, there was no air conditioning, and we were rushed to order. In short: a very bad experience.

Satri House, a colonial-era mansion in Luang Prabang, was once the childhood home of Laos' first president. After a complete makeover, it now stands as an elegant boutique hotel with 28 unique rooms and three suites adorned with local Lao artifacts and antiques. The property features two outdoor pools, free Wi-Fi, and a spa for guests to enjoy. Visitors can also relax at the garden bar or explore the pond- and palm-dotted grounds during their stay.
A very special place. This was my second stay and it did not disappoint. The ambiance is fantastic, a beautiful garden setting with beautiful old buildings, two pools, lovely intimate spaces to sit throughout the grounds, with beautiful Lao artefacts everywhere. It’s like staying in a grand home. The staff are absolutely fabulous and take great care of guests, the gardens and the rooms. The breakfast is superb and the restaurant serves delicious food. The General Manager, Robert, deserves a special mention. He provides such warm, personal attention to guests. His interaction with staff is respectful and caring. It seems a really happy work environment with him in charge. Would not hesitate to return.

Wonderful boutique hotel tucked away in its own private gardens. The architecture is a mix of French colonial and traditional Lao/buddhist influence. Keep in mind that it is colonial style so dont come here expecting modern/post-modern conveniences. For example, instead of blackout curtains, you’ll have wood shutters! So enjoy getting away from the modern western world and immerse yourself in old world charm.

Satri House was unique and full of character. The rooms were excellent, the public areas beautiful with lots of vegetation - very peaceful and relaxing. It was very near to the centre so it was easy to walk to. We ate in the restaurant for breakfast, an occasional lunch and dinner. The quality was excellent although the choice at breakfast could be improved. Overall, we loved our stay here and would recommend it for anyone who likes somewhere a bit different. Just be aware that there are a lot of stairs between the rooms, restaurant, reception etc so it might not be suitable for anyone with mobility issues.

Wonderful boutique hotel, quiet, comfortable; lovely well decorated big rooms, with lovely bathrooms; choice of food could be a bit more varied but quality was good; nice garden, pool, reading rooms, and even the spa was nice, simple but nice. The best of it all was our reception guy who went the extra mile to make our stay memorable.

Satri House is a beautiful hotel offering a peaceful escape with vibrant colors and stunning pools. The staff is exceptionally friendly, giving us complimentary drinks as a welcome and welcoming felt friendly and genuine. The staff carefully and thoroughly explained what the possibilities of restaurants, trips and monasteries to visit. They also recommended the best hours to visit these places. The hotel also offers bikes, to take around town for free. I highly recommend this hotel!

This boutique hotel is a great place to feel the atmosphere of Luang Prabang : the place is spacious and our 2 rooms were decorated with great taste and personality Take time to enjoy the main swimming pool : a real journey in the past ! We also enjoyed the breakfast : excellent taste, good quantities, and efficient service. NB Please note that some customers might be disappointed by quality of some facilities (e.g. bathrooms need a little modern touch !), and by the fact that there is no TV. But isn’t it the best way to experience Luang Prabang and its out-of-the-time atmosphere ?
Camille D — Google review
Satri House is a higher priced accommodation that’s further away from most of the main attractions than many others. While it is in a restored old house, it didn’t live up to our standards when compared to the lesser priced place we stayed at in the old city. They conveniently forget to tell guests that they are constructing new buildings right in front of many of the rooms and the view is of workers making noise all day. While not unfriendly per se, staff all seemed their job was routine and didn’t go out of their way to help with much of anything. English skills could definitely be improved given the increased popularity of Laos. Rooms are quite dark and in the old colonial mansion style which makes them hollow and somewhat impersonal. The breakfast was far inferior to the one we had at our other LP accommodation. Very small menu and good has no flavor at all. Fruit is very skimpy and not good. The restaurant itself is insanely overpriced relative to many other comparable eateries with limited local choices and should be avoided unless you’re too lazy to venture out of the hotel Speaking of which, the pool area has very few loungers and many guests apparently came to Laos to sit there all day thus monopolizing the space. I’m unclear why you’d spend a pool vacation in a landlocked nation filled with interesting things to see and do but I suppose the high prices attract the snobbier set since many others seem to rave about the hotel. All guests we saw were European boomers who were clearly not in Laos to take in the culture and sights. While not the worst experience we’ve ever had visiting a new place, there are many comfortable and friendlier accommodations all over Luang Prabang so we can’t recommend Satri House

We recently stayed at Satri House. Beautifully decorated, historic building, and first class hospitality. Food was also really good. We mentioned it was my husband’s birthday at the time of booking months before his actual birthday. They must have logged this in their diary because staff greeted him on the morning of his birthday with a cake with candles and sang happy birthday to him. They also gave us an upgrade free of charge to a junior suite in recognition of the special occasion. We don’t understand why they only have 2 stars on google. It should be much higher. Would highly recommend this hotel. Angela and Scott Raworth

Nestled in the heart of Luang Prabang, Maison Dalabua Hotel offers a stylish retreat with a touch of traditional Lao design. The hotel's name, meaning 'princess of lotus,' perfectly captures its serene ambiance surrounded by UNESCO classified lotus ponds. With 40 elegantly furnished rooms set amidst tropical gardens, this 4-star boutique property provides a refreshing escape.

We booked 2 nights here through Booking.com and the experience exceeded our expectations. The property is full of greenery, beautiful and relaxing, and the restaurant was excellent. We enjoyed it so much that we decided to extend our stay for one more night. The hotel provides free bicycles for guests. If you prefer renting a motorbike, there is a rental shop conveniently located right next door.

This is a lovely hotel, within easy walking distance of the night market and a number of temples. The staff, as we found all Lao to be, were extremely pleasant, helpful and just lovely. The rooms are spacious, the beds comfortable and the bathrooms quite nice. We did not utilize the pool, but heard from others that it was a refreshing way to cool off in the heat of Luang Prabang. The hotel has the added benefit of being the home to Manda de Laos, an exquisite restaurant perched on the edge of a Unesco recognized lotus pond. We had lunch and dinner there, and every morsel was delicious!

I have been coming to Luang Prabang since 2014 and I have always stayed at Maison Dalabua. I love this hotel , it is like a second home to me The staff all know me now and give me a warm welcome back, each time I return. The hotel is set in beautiful gardens a short distance from the night market. They serve a great breakfast overlooking the lily ponds and there is a restaurant on the same site serving fabulous meals for your dinner.

T56 Cafe & Bar is a two-story cafe in Luang Prabang, offering a cool escape from the heat with its air-conditioned interiors and an array of pastry selections. The first floor is perfect for dining, while the second floor is ideal for sipping cocktails. The menu features vegan-friendly and gluten-free options, with meals priced between 100,000 to 200,000 lak including tax and service. Cocktails range from 100,000 to 150,000 lak.
A great retreat, I like the inside, it's quiet and not usually busy. Food is top notch even though the menu is not adventurous and is similar to most other restaurants, the atmosphere and quality make this a welcoming place.

We sat on across the street in their seating right on the river. It was a beautiful setting under the canopy of two large trees. We only split a sandwich but it was delicious. The service was good. The prices were more than other places around but, you pay for the atmosphere. Very nice.

A great vibe coffee shop, and you can just sit across the street in their seating right on the river. It was a beautiful setting under the canopy of two large trees. The coffee was decent, but the passion juice was really delicious. The service was good. The prices were more than other places around, but you pay for the atmosphere. Absolutely amazing.

Love this spot, a chic little haven along the river side with gorgeous decor and an extensive menu. As well as tasty traditional and fusion cuisine, you could kick back with a pastry and coffee. The Beef Bruschetta was sinfully tasty, and the iced latte will make you forsake all other coffee options and declare it your one true source of caffeine. (They also take cards if you don’t have cash!)

I was the only person in the cafe at the time so the atmosphere was a bit off, but the cafe is beautiful. The food was interesting…. I asked for a pain au chocolat, however the waitress didn’t understand so I said chocolate croissant, and she understood that. I could see the chocolate croissants in the pastry cabinet. But what I received was a croissant covered in chocolate (and gold flakes)! Wasn’t bad but wasn’t what I was expecting haha

Amantaka is a chic, colonial-style lodging located in Luang Prabang. Housed in a colonial-era hospital, the hotel offers refined suites, some of which come with private pools. The property features clean lines, high ceilings, and a mostly white palette creating an oasis-like atmosphere. Guests can enjoy daily afternoon tea with various iced infusions and pastries. The hotel also offers fine dining experiences served around the candlelit pool.
We stayed here for two nights, and the experience was worth it. The staffs were very attentive and considerate, they only speak Thai to us (knowing in advance that we’re Thai). The room maintenances and turning downs were seamless, like we had little gnomes who secretly tended to our rooms once we were away. Bathhouse was an unexpected addition to our stay. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the hot bath, cold bath and the steam. The room itself was spacious and well decorated. The lighting details, shadows, and spacing between furnishings were impeccable! We went to a sunset cruise with Bobby, he was very nice in accommodating us. Highly recommended.
Thanatpong R — Google review
On a "Global Scale" Amantaka was very nice - but not outstanding - as far as hotels in LP and Laos, it was incredible - an old hospital I believe converted to a hotel, we had a very large colonial style room - huge bedroom, huge living room, great bathroom - built a very long time ago and updated as best they could but still somewhat older and a little more run down than the pictures on the website would indicate. But it was clean, well appointed and the service was impeccable - as good as any Aman (and we've stayed in a bunch). The food was also very good and they were very flexible in meeting our pescatarian needs. Small little gym and a concierge who was more than helpful. And the hotel is just far enough away from the night market to be quiet but close enough to walk to all the activities and restaurants near by. Highly recommended.
Andrew K — Google review
We had a wonderful stay at Amantaka. The Pool Suite was perfect, with a beautiful pool where we could cool off and swim during the hot weather. You can really feel the sense of peace that Aman is known for throughout this hotel. The facilities are very well maintained, and the staff were truly lovely, providing genuinely heartfelt service at every touchpoint, from the driver to the waiters, spa manager, and front desk assistants. We enjoyed several memorable experiences, including a city tour, Mekong river cruise, trekking to Kuang Si waterfall, and the alms giving. A highlight of our stay was the thoughtful birthday surprise the team prepared for my partner, it was so special. The spa treatments and sauna facilities were definitely top-notch. There was a small incident with laundry, but the staff were sincerely apologetic, and it didn’t take away from our overall experience. Amantaka is on the pricier side, but it is absolutely worth it.
Marcusyhn — Google review
I didn’t stay at the hotel, but I came for breakfast at the restaurant. Since I wanted to visit Aman Taka that morning, I called the hotel in advance to confirm if outside guests were welcome for breakfast. They said yes, though they mentioned the balcony might be full. The menu offers both Western and Lao-style dishes. I ordered the congee—it was really good, with a rich and flavorful broth (probably pork stock). I also ordered the fruit platter. One of the fruits I thought was persimmon (it looked just like it!) turned out to be apple, which was a bit disappointing. The menu is à la carte only, which I think is the same as other Aman properties, like Aman Tokyo. The service was perfect, I talked with few staff about food, hotel and Laos and I really enjoyed a peaceful breakfast. thank you very much. The restaurant wasn’t busy at all—only three other groups besides me.
Flour P — Google review
The Amantaka is a beautiful property with impeccable service and truly outstanding food. Everything about our stay was nearly perfect, and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. However, I am rating 4 stars instead of 5 because of an unfortunate experience with a sound healing therapist during our stay. There was an announcement for a group sound healing session followed by complimentary 30-minute sessions. My daughter expressed interest, but the therapist suggested she needed more time. Without clear communication, this was turned into a “private session,” and we were later charged $300 for it. While the experience itself was pleasant, I found this practice misleading and inappropriate, especially at a property that otherwise demonstrates such high standards of service and hospitality. I hope Amantaka addresses this issue to ensure clarity and fairness in their wellness offerings moving forward.
Nathan F — Google review
Luang Prabang has many hotels converted from old buildings, but none are done with more refinement than Amantaka. The architecture and ambience is simply amazing. An oasis in the middle of the town—so peaceful that you feel completely secluded once you enter from its subtle entrance. Time slows down in Amantaka, which truly lives up to the style of the Aman group. During our three nights stay, we did the Sunset Mekong Cruise, alms giving, and the Temple Tour, and they were all absolutely wonderful. On the cruise, Tom took care of us with such great attention. For the Temple Tour, Oun was an outstanding guide—he generously shared his passion for Laos and his deep knowledge of the local culture, which was truly moving. We dont think we had any other guide better than him during our trip in Laos. As with any Aman hotel, it’s always the staff that leave the deepest impression—and Amantaka is no exception. In addition to Tom, our guide Oun, and the staff member who led us during the morning almsgiving (apologies for forgetting his name), as well as everyone we met in the lobby, restaurant, and spa-you are simply the best. The highlight of our stay in Amantaka was Elodie. Although we didn’t have long conversations, her warmth, attentiveness, and knowledge of both the hotel and Luang Prabang left us with the most perfect impression of our short stay at Amantaka. We are truly grateful to have her help us during our stay. Well, if you are seeking a peaceful journey in Luang Prabang, Amantaka is second to none.”

A place of exceptional history and emotion. At Aman, General Manager Aurélien Kinne and his team have captured the very essence of the property, sharing it with guests in complete authenticity and in the purest tradition of its heritage, all within a serene, Zen-like ambience that invites deep relaxation and an invitation to gastronomy, a sensory journey perfectly attuned to the rhythm of the place. DeR — Google review
The location was excellent, just a short walk to the main town and the famous night market. We enjoyed strolling back after an evening out. The property itself was well maintained and had a calm, relaxing feel. The staff were outstanding. Special mention to Sam and Dao from the restaurant, both were warm, attentive, and made our meals memorable. The cruise to the Pak Ou Caves arranged through the hotel was another highlight, well organised and a great way to enjoy the Mekong. The gym was well equipped and a nice bonus for a short stay. The spa was not bad either, a good option for relaxing after a day of sightseeing. One downside was the lack of daily in-house activities. Even the ones listed on the website, like the evening abode walk and meditation class with the resident nun, were not happening during our stay. The mattress in our room also felt worn and might need replacing. Overall, Amantaka is in a fantastic location with excellent staff, good facilities, and beautiful surroundings. With more consistent delivery of the advertised activities and some updates to room comfort, it could be an outstanding experience.

I believe you’ll have an amazing time at this hotel. The staff are friendly and supportive. The served food is very delicious. The rooms were very clean and fresh, we also had a cozy balcony. I would advise you to bring your own shampoo and shower gel because the ones at the hotel had a specific smell and we honestly didn’t like it. We also wish the pool could close later than 19:00. It’s so hot in the afternoon, we can’t swim at that time, so if the pool could close at 21:00 for example, it would be awesome! The hotel is also a bit far from the city center and there is a dangerous bridge that you have to cross every time you go to the city center.

After visiting Luang Prabang multiple times, I was looking for a hotel that was outside the fray of the main peninsula but still close enough to walk to town. I was also looking for a nice place to cater for a large group of people including families with children for nine nights. This place was perfect. A beautiful, serene location on the banks of the Nam Khan. The hotel managers, Mrs Kaisone and Mr Santi, happily organised many vans, tuk tuks and tours whilst the bar and kitchen staff looked after our every need. The breakfast provided a wide range of options, including delicious Khao Soi. The rooms were clean and well furnished and the gardens were immaculate. There were multiple pools for us to enjoy and the staff even provided me with an unexpected birthday cake. Gotta love Laos and the Lao people. A perfect holiday location. Thank you, My Dream Boutique Resort Hotel!

First of all - we have been to this hotel 12 years ago and we really liked it. That’s why we decided to come back with our kids. Unfortunately we were quite disapointed with the room. I don’t know if there maybe are not many families staying in the family options and therefore they are a quite old. We did not feel comfortable at all. We told the reception, so we got offered another room. However both rooms were really smelly and humid. It might be due to the wet season and we don’t know how the normal rooms are because we decided to cut our stay short. Service was good and they tried to come up with the best option for us. For us as a family the location was also not ideal.

Cash Stolen from Room - Avoid This Hotel! I experienced a serious theft during my stay at this hotel. A significant amount of cash, including HKD, RMB, and Lao Kip, was stolen from my wallet inside the room. The incident occurred between the morning of October 2nd, after we left our belongings unattended in the room. We had confirmed the cash was present the previous night. The hotel’s lack of basic security measures and their inadequate response to our complaint are utterly unacceptable. I strongly advise everyone to avoid this hotel to prevent similar losses.Your valuables are not safe here.

The staff was very kind and attentive. Breakfast was good and there are gluten-free options. The hotel is close to the airport. I would say the place is good value for money. However, the mattress dipped in the middle so my partner and I did not sleep very well when we stayed here. It hurt my back. The safe was broken in our room and we could not set a code so had to use the key which reduces the level of security seeing that we had to leave the key at the reception because there was only one key to the safe and we didn’t want to risk losing it. The hotel absolves itself of any responsibility in case your valuables go missing but we were in a situation where we had to use a key and leave it with someone at the reception. Additionally, the safe’s battery ran out and kept us awake on our last night because it kept beeping. There is a shuttle service to town but the schedule is limited to 21:30 back to the hotel so if you want to stay out late, it’s a 25 minute walk to the hotel from the night market.

However, my recent stay with my family in May 2025 were unacceptable. The last day of our stay, we came back from a waterfall and our 2 kids were sleeping in the car so we drove the car to park infront of our room to send them directly to the room so they did not wake up during we transfer to a goft car from the hotel to send us to the room. While we were packing for checking out (I was thinking of asking the hotel if we can extend 1hr more for checking out as our kids were tired from our early trip to the waterfall and still sleeping and the time we stayed there were not many guests staying in the hotel) there were already a car waiting to send us to the robbies and cleaners from the hotel waiting to clean the room. So, we had to wake up oir kids and rushing for checking out. No one called for pickup yet and I wondered how could that happened.

The staff is very friendly and they are the best of the hotel. The hotel is a bit run down and it has seen better days. It has a great view which comes at a price being away from the town Center so you need either to take a taxi which is around 5 usd or the shuttle the hotel has.

Kiridara Luang Prabang is a beautiful hotel located on the outskirts of the city, offering serene rooms with comfortable beds and stunning views of Mt Phou Si and the surrounding hills. The infinity pool provides a relaxing spot with great views, and guests can enjoy complimentary 5-minute massages from the spa while lounging by the pool.
Location overlooking Luang Prabang and the surrounding hills is naturally scenic. From the moment the hotel's driver met us at the train station to check in etc all the staff were very polite & friendly. We had an issue with our room but it was rectified quickly & to our satisfaction, which says a lot for the hotel's excellent customer satisfaction. There was a very good choice of freshly cooked food for breakfast. The pool overlooking the location is probably one of the best we've seen in Luang Prabang. While it's about a half hour walk into the Old Quarter, the hotel provides an on-call shuttle till 9.15pm. Would highly recommend the Kiridara.

Kiridara Luang Prabang is a lovely, peaceful hotel with great amenities and a friendly atmosphere. The breakfast was simple but satisfying, offering fresh fruits, pastries, and local dishes each morning, along with the option to order off the menu. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and had a fantastic view. The bathtub was huge, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. While the TV signal was a bit pixelated (understandable given the location), it didn’t detract from the overall experience. The hotel itself is quiet and serene, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. A nice bonus is the courtesy van, which can take you into town and pick you up with just a quick message via WhatsApp. The only downside was the mosquitoes—there were a few in the room, and we had to kill them, so be sure to take precautions. Overall, though, it was a great stay and I’d highly recommend it!

The suite rooms is very spacious and confortable with great view on mountains and town. The swimming pool area is really nice. Didn't try the food. We wanted to treat ourselves with + 3h treatment on the spa but the two girls was not skilled at all for this kind of hotel and price. Body balance & Alignement was just boring and bad. Then we try reflexology they were falling asleep and doing exactly the same mouvement on my legs for 30min that just burned my skin with the friction of the hair without oil. We had to stop the massage. We get out with 250$ spa bill and not satisfied. Other that's it's a nice place to stay.

Beautiful resort style hotel with just 20+ rooms. Location on a hillside gave it a view of Phousi Hill in the distance. Stylish room had a little wear and tear but spacious enough with an outdoor terrace. Housekeeping did a good job meeting our needs. However, both the 2 pillows were too soft, they should provide one that's hard. Breakfast was outstanding in terms of quality and quantity. Part of it was a buffet and you could also order anything from a menu. Had a quiet dinner on the pool deck too. Location and traffic made it a bit difficult to walk or cycle to the sights, so we relied on the complimentary shuttle which ran until approx.8.45pm. Most of the staff were very pleasant and friendly. Extremely good value compared to the over-priced big name resorts and hotels there.

I had high expectations for Kiridara Luang Prabang based on the stunning photos on Agoda, but unfortunately, the reality didn’t quite match up. The location is decent but not as breathtaking as it appeared in the pictures. The rooms are spacious, but I found them lacking in coziness. The air conditioning also struggled to keep the room cool at night, which affected my sleep. On the positive side, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was excellent, especially the coffee. However, the hotel is quite far from town, and although they offer a shuttle service, the distance can be inconvenient. Overall, I felt a bit misled by the beautiful pictures, and the experience was more average than expected. Be aware that the photos may set your expectations higher than what you’ll actually experienc

Kiridara Luang Prabang offers a serene and picturesque stay, perfect for those seeking peace and tranquility. The property is stunning, meticulously clean, and well-maintained. The local staff are exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and always eager to help, making the overall experience feel warm and personal. The restaurant is another highlight, offering a good variety of delicious options to cater to different tastes. However, there were a few disappointing aspects. The Wi-Fi is extremely weak and unreliable, frequently disconnecting, which can be frustrating. The spa experience fell short of expectations; the treatment was subpar, and the towels were heavily soaked with oil, suggesting a lack of professional cleaning. Additionally, the French lady at reception creates a cold, unpleasant atmosphere with her frosty demeanor and unprofessional treatment of both guests and the local staff, which was disheartening to witness. While the positives outweigh the negatives, some improvements in service and amenities would make this place truly exceptional.

Indigo House is a contemporary boutique hotel located in the heart of Luang Prabang, just minutes away from the morning and night markets. The hotel's design incorporates traditional Lao elements with a modern twist, featuring a fresh blue and white color scheme and local textiles. Guests can enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi and relax at the ground floor cafe offering homemade cakes and bread. The rooftop dining area provides a nice spot to unwind, although the menu is somewhat limited.
We loved Indigo house, the location is fantastic right on the night market Street, with a lovely little foodie Alley next door to the hotel. It was central for everything we needed. The staff are excellent and a really really helpful. There was a number of choices for breakfast and we enjoyed it every morning. There was plenty of food on offer. There is a bakery attached the hotel which sells pastries which were delicious. Our bed was very comfortable and there was shutter block out the light. It was an open plan room with the sink as part of the room and a room for the shower and toilet off of the room. The shower was concrete with some tiles on it which was the only thing we felt let down our room. We had to go up one flight of stairs to reach our room which never bothered us,going up two more flights of stairs came to a lovely restaurant which was outdoors overlooking the market. We didn’t eat there but we did have a drink in the evening.

Location: the hotel is IN the night market street. The night market starts 80 meters before this hotel location, which means you may need to carry the bags for that distance. We had booked transport by the hotel, so the taxi driver helped out. So, of course, the hotel is close to everything, and inside the UNESCO Heritage City. Service is slow. Limited menu. Food is okay. The pastries were great. Pastries are sold in the bakery outlet that they set up every evening. Rooms: walk up the staircase. We had 3 rooms, one of them had no bathroom, just a bathtub on one end of the room, not even shower curtains or shutters. They should also provide furniture such as a chest-of-drawers or wardrobe.

A really great hotel. Rooms well decorated with massive stone bathtub. Comfortable beds, clean rooms. Perfect location right next to the night market and yet rooms completely silent. Walking distance to everything in the town. Staff were friendly and helpful with booking transfers or giving info. Monks/alms occurs right in front of the property in the mornings. And the breakfast is top notch! Definitely recommend and would stay here again.

Great location, night market is downstair. Couple of issues are you gotta order breakfast and the WiFi was doesn’t connect at all in room 101. I gotta sit inside the toilet room for the WiFi it connect.

Place at great location but the rooms were not upto the marks compared to the prices. The place have great bakery items but all were too sweet so it depends upon one’s taste. Service was slow but plenty of food available. Lot of pastries and sweet items. At night they display everything outside for street market. You need to carry the bags around 90 mtrs if you arrive during evening time when market is open as taxis are not allowed. So keep in mind and plan accordingly.

Very friendly & helpful workers. Ran out to help with my bags from the train shuttle. Bakery & Coffee Cafe tasted great, while breakfast had a lot of choices & great taste. Location fronting Night Market while 3rd floor restaurant had tasty food & nice view.

Our family ate at the lovely rooftop restaurant and bar a few times during our visit. The staff is absolutely lovely and they accommodated our needs really well. Food is very well prepared and delicious and not greasy. They adjusted the spice levels as per the needs of our children (as a lot of local dishes use green chillies). You can watch the sunset and the night market while enjoying the breeze. Highly recommended as its the tallest building in LP and offers a different view.

Excellent location in town, near to the night market, morning market and an easy walk to places of interest. Service has been extraordinary with extremely attentive, pleasant and professional staff who were always willing to answer queries and make restaurant bookings. Really great room... comfortable, bright with enough space to walk around, read, watch tv and chill. And good washroom that did not pose any safety concerns. And yummy cookies everyday...9 And the sunset cruise was really great too... very relaxing and pleasant and certainly a nice way to view the scenery. Canapes and drinks made it an overall enjoyable experience. So congratulations to management and staff... keep it up, you made gha hotels my go to for hotel bookings

We spent 5 days there in August and had 2 rooms, as we were a family with 2 grown kids. Everything was wonderful. The pool was cool and inviting. The breakfast had a huge assortment of cuisines; the rooms were large, quiet and comfortable. Unlike many of the luxury hotels in the area, the Avani+ was directly in town so we could walk almost anywhere. I’d recommend it and would stay there again if I ever return to beautiful Luang Prabang.

The decoration is beautiful the staff polite. However several other things make this hotel not good .lts way overpriced compared to other 5 star hotels. The tours in their transport vans way overpriced too as,is airport and train transfers The rooms are very small. No coffeemate or milk in the room. The breakfast has very limited choice. The restaurant where l ordered imported ribeye steak 2 days running was bad tough and tasted like buffalo so l am not sure of it's origins. When l checked in a whole drama about the price and they tried to charge me double it was a long time sorting out this error. Overall very disappointed with the hotel. On leaving another error with the bill causing more delay. As for your reply the steak the 1st night was ordered as medium well came back rare which l informed them on the second night. The second night at least 30% was inedible and was quite a disgusting taste . The charging issue was your reception tried to charge me over 1500 dollars in the 1st place and l spent many minutes explaining it was double the charge booking.Com had given me in the first place .Also hair tongs, got left in the room but no one even bothered to contact us to say they had been found.

Family Bakery & Restaurant is a cozy and relatively new spot in Luang Prabang, located near the Nam Khan. The restaurant offers a relaxed atmosphere with cushion floor seating, perfect for a casual breakfast. Partnered with NK SEEDS, it operates as a solidarity restaurant reinvesting profits into projects in northern Laos. The menu features delightful options such as mango cinnamon shake, chicken bao, and vegetables with cashews.
A delightful spot in Luang Prabang! The pastries and dishes are fresh, flavorful, and made with love. What makes it even more special is its NGO foundation—every bite supports a meaningful cause. A must-visit for great food and positive impact!

Family Bakery in Luang Prabang is pure magic. From the moment I walked in, I felt at home—the atmosphere is so warm and inviting, and the kindness of the people here is something truly special. Their big, genuine smiles aren’t just welcoming; they make you feel like you’re among friends. I had the Peanut Fever smoothie and the tofu bao, and both were absolutely perfect! Every bite, every sip, felt like it was made with love. And with so many amazing vegetarian options, I know I’ll be coming back again and again while I’m here. A heartfelt thank you to the wonderful team for their impeccable work and for creating such a beautiful space. I’m already looking forward to my next visit, this is the truth 😊 🙏🏼 With all my Mettā for you wonderful people today, tomorrow, and every single day of your lives, Noah

Not sure if we just had a bad experience but I was disappointed with the food. Ordered a cheese and ham sandwich and the baguette itself was good but the fillings were very stingy - one small slice of ham and cheese, and a bit of salad to bulk it out. Expected better quality given the reviews and price.
Catherine B — Google review
Dining at Family Bakery and Restaurant feels like eating with a purpose. Knowing that the profits from the restaurant go directly to a the NK Seeds organization means that we are making a contribution to the education, nutrition, and building of hygienic facilities for children in Laos. We've only been in Luang Prabang for a week and we've eaten here twice - once for dinner and once for breakfast. Scott became a fan of khao soi in Thailand and was pleasantly surprised at the Laotian take on the dish. Jenn's coconut chicken was the ideal blend of sweet and savory. Had we not gotten filled with those plates, we probably could have eaten 2 more plates of the bao - a fluffy pastry filled with chicken and mango. Yum! Breakfast was another pleasant and appropriately-portioned meal. Jenn had the eggs, bacon, baguette, fruit, and tea while Scott ordered the omelette with toast. We shared from each other's plates and split a chocolate cake - so warm with a crispy top smothered with a coffee-flavored syrup. There are so many dishes (and pastries!) we want to try that we will definitely return. Like most places in SE Asia, the food comes out when it's ready but it was still very fast. The server sat us immediately, served us fast, and we ate before the rain started.
Jenn A — Google review
I had my very first Khao Soi here last year, and it left such a strong impression that it became my personal gold standard. Since then, I’ve tried versions elsewhere, including a Michelin-recognized spot, but nothing comes close. Maybe because it was my first, this one feels like comfort food to me, like a nostalgic home-cooked meal. Now that I’m back in Luang Prabang, I’ve already been here twice on this trip. Each bite still delivers that incredible harmony of flavors. Truly delicious, and still the best Khao Soi I’ve ever had. Made fresh to order, it takes a bit of time but is absolutely worth the wait.
Myn K — Google review
Small and charming little restaurant/bakery. Some of the proceeds of sales go to charity. The service is friendly and welcoming, came 5 minutes after early morning opening time, and managed to get food no problem. The Khao Soi here is a nice delicious mix, tofu, meat...fresh noodles and a creamy/spicy coconut broth. So far this is a stand out Khao Soi in Laos.

Came here two times, first time was great and delicious smoothie and pain ou chocolat. Decided to come back but unfortunately, the waitress was friendly but was so distracted by her phone playing loud videos that my pain ou chocolat got burned and was not edible, and they just ignored the issue. The smoothie was still good.

I don’t have much of a baseline to compare to, but the kao soi here was fantastic; the tamarind really elevated it to the next level. Plus the balcony area was lovely.

Merry Riverside Hotel is a hidden gem nestled in a small street, offering lovely Riverview rooms and spacious ensuite accommodations. The breakfast buffet provides a variety of options, but it's best to arrive early to enjoy them warm. While the hotel lacks an in-house restaurant, its location offers easy access to nearby dining options. Guests can also take advantage of the complimentary bicycles for getting around. The staff members are friendly and accommodating, providing excellent service throughout the stay.
We booked three nights- but ended up staying a whole week! Really nice and ne room with aircon and fan and hot water. One of the most comfortable bed we had so far on our travel trough Asia! And they also have a great buffet for breakfast which we enjoyed together with a nice river view! They also rent motorbikes. Recommended!

This hotel is gorgeous. Set right on the riverfront, with lovely breakfast views. The rooms were spotless and modern. The beds were extremely comfy. The staff were friendly and helpful. All for such a cheap price! Would definitely stay again.

This was the perfect place to stay in Luang Prabang. The staff was absolutely EXCEPTIONAL and made our stay so much easier and more enjoyable. Lo, Vonne, and another kind team member (whose name I sadly can’t recall) were incredibly sweet and helpful throughout our visit. Vonne even took the time to book our train tickets to Vang Vieng and helped arrange a boat trip to the Pak Ou Caves. Lo was so sweet and helpful and the other employee moved our bags back to our room before we returned from our Homestay. The rooms were spotless and beautifully designed, and had the BEST shower of our entire Southeast Asia trip. The beds were also extremely comfortable which hasn’t always been our experience. The breakfast was another highlight: a generous buffet spread with eggs, rice, fruit, bread, yogurt, coffee, and more with a stunning view of the river. It was such a peaceful and memorable way to start each day. They also offer same-day laundry service, which was super convenient. All in all, this place is a true gem. If we ever make our way back to Luang Prabang, we’ll absolutely stay here again. Highly recommend!

Merry Riverside was our first stop in Luang Prabang and it really set the tone with warm Laos hospitality. The staff are exceptionally friendly and kind, breakfast by the river was great with lots of choices, and the room was clean with a strong shower and hair dryer. Example, top-tier hotel. Always super clean and rooms seem to get serviced as soon as you leave. Front desk is always friendly and helpful; staff helped me carry my suitcase to my room which was so kind. Decent breakfast buffet. Would 100% recommend this place to anyone. IF you come during rainy season (July and August) do be careful and hold onto the railings as you walk; floors get slippery during rainstorms

One of the best hotels in Luang Prabang, clean, quiet and airy, located right next to the Nam Khan River. Spacious rooms, spacious and clean beds, enthusiastic and attentive support staff. Breakfast is delicious, diverse, many Vietnamese dishes. This hotel is a good choice for tourists when traveling to Luang Prabang, especially for Vietnamese people (the hotel owners are Vietnamese and very enthusiastic to support).
Phuc D — Google review
I had time to do some serious research on hotels and even viewed a few before I decided here. This is the best at this price range and also suits me best for its quality, comfort, quietness and away from huge tourist crowd. I’m very grateful for the kind, positive, helpful and friendly staff too.
Min Z — Google review
Our issue first: we paid for a room with a balcony, riverview and king- size bed, but we were given a standard double room; no riverview, no balcony. We raised this immediately but it was not resolved, perhaps due to language difference, perhaps, judging from other one-star reviews, because they overbooked the rooms. We received no money back. Our window was facing another hotel on the ground floor, so noisy in the mornings and we had to close the curtains for privacy during the day (no blinds). Now the rest: the place is clean, well located, the room was nice, the shower was a good pressure, the buffet was pleasant, the staff were nice and the view during breakfast was beautiful. It's a good place to stay, but you may not get the room you booked, especially as this event does not seem to be a one-off.

Le Bel Air Resort Luang Prabang is a sprawling property located along the picturesque Nam Khan River. The hotel features a charming riverside restaurant and a relaxing poolside bar. Guests can enjoy spacious rooms with pleasant views of the river and well-kept gardens. While the location is slightly removed from the bustling town center, it offers a peaceful atmosphere. The friendly staff provide excellent service, although language skills may be limited. One minor suggestion for improvement is to address potential safety concerns in the bathrooms.
We booked for 2 nights, but will add one more. We’re here at the end of August and it feels like we’re the only guests here 😅. Haven’t seen any other guests around the property, and we were the only ones at breakfast. I guess it’s kind of nice, feels like a completely private experience. The staff is nice and friendly. The grounds and pool are beautiful, the bed is very comfortable. Walking across the bridge right next to the property towards town felt very sketchy, but after the first few times it was fine. Overall, really nice place, highly recommend 😁
Michael C — Google review
I am surprised with the 4.5 rating on Google for this hotel. At best, it is a three. Anyway, the property, while on a nice ground, is dated. Rooms were nice, I am sure, once upon a time. The breakfast is very mediocre for a 4 Star Hotel. We have traveled for 3 weeks in Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos. This was the worst breakfast of all the hotels. The service was also poor. Not too many staff members comprehend English or are able to communicate. That is still acceptable, but what was not acceptable to me was refusal to send milk/creamer to the room so that I can make my tea. I was asked to walk down to the restaurant! The location is also not great. While all good properties are near the central area, this property is on the other side of the river.
Dhanesh M — Google review
Staff very friendly and attentive. The rooms were spacious. Good swimming pool area, needs the bar facility improving for food provision. From the front the hotel doesn't have 'curb' appeal but once through the lobby it opens up. Location about half a mile walk to the main street with lots of restaurants.

A beautiful hotel, rooms spacious and clean and the gardens around the accommodation blocks are lovely. Nice pool and bar area. Be aware though if you are staying at this hotel in the quieter season they do close the restaurant and serve food at the pool bar The breakfast was nice but not a huge amount of choices.
Louise T — Google review
This is a great place to relax. Since there aren’t many guests, it’s quiet and peaceful, providing plenty of privacy. The atmosphere here is really nice and beautiful, with lots of greenery. Each corner and zone is well arranged, and the poolside area is also great. The swimming pool is clean. Overall, I’d rate it 10/10. The bedroom is clean. I stayed in the cheapest room, but it was spacious and worth the price. The bathroom is nice (though there are some slight paint stains since it’s an old building). The bed is soft, and the room feels airy, not stuffy. I’d rate it 10/10. The breakfast here is average, with not many choices. If there are a lot of guests, you’ll get a buffet, but if there are only a few guests, you’ll get à la carte (but still unlimited orders). For the food and taste, I’d rate it 6.5/10. The service here is good, and the staff are lovely. Although there aren’t many staff (probably because there aren’t many guests, which is understandable), every zone is still assigned staff, so you still get convenience. There is a shuttle service to and from the city center throughout the day (with specific pick-up and drop-off times). Overall, I’d rate it 9/10. All in all, I had a very good experience here, and I will definitely come back again with my family.

Homm Souvannaphoum Luang Prabang is a refined hotel offering elegant rooms, chic dining, and a range of amenities. The hotel was once an old palace transformed into a modern accommodation with spacious rooms featuring balconies and great amenities. Guests can enjoy the outdoor pool, spa treatments, and free Wi-Fi. The location is peaceful and close to the night market and other attractions.
Good hotel with cozy vibe. Near walking street and easy for sightseeing. Very quiet atmosphere, best if you want to getaway from hassle. Restaurant is also good. They have a made to order breakfast (selected from their provided menus) which is more than enough to start your day before enjoying a serene getaway. It may seem not much, but it's still worth every penny. Truly recommend and I will be back there again if the opportunity arises.

I recently stayed at Homm Souvannaphoum and had a wonderful experience. The hotel blends modern comfort with a touch of traditional charm, making it a relaxing retreat in the heart of Luang Prabang. The location is excellent close enough to explore the town’s main attractions, but still quiet enough for a peaceful stay. The rooms are spacious, clean, and thoughtfully designed, with comfortable beds and all the necessary amenities. What stood out most was the hospitality. The staff were incredibly welcoming, attentive, and always ready to help with a warm smile. Their local recommendations for dining and sightseeing made my trip even more enjoyable. The hotel’s pool and garden area are also highlights perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. Breakfast was fresh and delicious, with a good variety of local and international options. Overall, Homm Souvannaphoum offers great value for money and delivers a memorable stay. I would happily return and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Luang Prabang.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️! We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and it was an absolute dream oasis ! HIGHLY recommend for anyone in Luang Prabang. ♥️ Long review incoming so TL;DR: Location, rooms, pool, amenities were high quality — but what really stuck out was the fantastic hospitality and service! — 📍Location: fantastic! Near the main road but very quiet and tucked away. Just a quick walk from the night market and the phousi temple + hills and an easy walk or even easier bike to the main central areas in town. 🏨 Rooms: great sized room, HUGE bed (2 singles pushed together but we rarely get this space in nyc! Haha), balcony overlooking the pool with lush views, and a simple but very clean and functional bathroom. They also provided 4 bottles of filtered water (in reusable glasses) which we greatly appreciated. Especially with all the single plastic water bottle waste in Asia 🥺. Housekeeping was prompt and serviced every day. I would say the only negative was that the WiFi was not very strong in our room and we would need to go onto the balcony or in the lobby to get stronger signal 🌊🚲 Pool & amenities: we LOVED having the pool to take a dip in after the HOT humid days. Drinks were buy 1 get 1 free (the entire time lol) and they were yum! They also had free bikes that you could rent from the front desk, which were perfect for getting around town! We had breakfast included and every morning it came with fresh fruit and an a la carte menu (but with no restrictions on how much you could order). They also had a spa but we did not use it. 👩🏻‍💼 Hospitality: WOW! The service and quality level of hospitality was just so lovely here. From the second we walked in we were greeted with friendly smiles and taken care of in such a kind and caring way. Front desk was super helpful in answering our questions, booking a sunset cruise for us and helping us book a scooter for a day trip to Kuang Si Falls and gave us other areas to stop at on the way. Special shout out to Pan and Noun! Restaurant service was always amazing. With Marvin making the BEST mango passion fruit smoothies we’ve ever had and delicious food (breakfast and at the poolside restaurant). He was always curious on how our day was going and checking in on us with a smile! And lastly, even the security guards went above and beyond. We unfortunately had a flat tire on our scooter on a highway ~30min away from town and the security guard (Thongkoun) spotted us on the side of the street, stopped (while in the middle of taking his kids home), rode with us to a nearby town, tried to fix our tire, and when he couldn’t, called a local truck to get us back to the hotel safely! We are so grateful for everyone at the hotel and can’t sing our praises more. The night before we left, the hotel / housekeeping left a note on our bed, written out in delicately cut flowers and leaves 🥹. Such a sweet and thoughtful add!

Stepping into Homm Souvanaphum, once a prince's palace, feels like stepping back in time. Its classic interior perfectly complements its rich heritage. The location is fantastic, offering a peaceful escape by the Mekong River, close to temples and the night market. The staff truly elevated my stay, sharing captivating stories about the hotel's royal past. And the breakfast? Simply delightful, especially the egg Benedict! If you're looking for a peaceful, charming escape with rich history, a great location, and exceptional service, Homm Souvanaphum is an excellent choice.

We stayed at Homm Souvannaphoum for a short getaway, and it was such a lovely experience for us as a young couple. The hotel has a charming atmosphere with a perfect mix of comfort and local style, which made our stay feel special and romantic. Our room was cozy, clean, and had everything we needed, while the pool area was a beautiful spot to relax together. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, always greeting us with warm smiles and helping us with recommendations around Luang Prabang. The location was also convenient, just a short walk from the night market and river, so we could easily explore the city hand in hand. Overall, it was a memorable stay, and we would definitely come back for another couple’s escape.p

Wonderful hotel which was the Prime Minister's residence of long ago. Spacious rooms! Grounds are well kept. Breakfast was wonderful and attendants very helpful and always smiling. Front desk was quick and efficient. A relaxing and peaceful stay!

A lovely place to stay, warm and welcoming like being at home. The staff were very friendly and even arranged a belated birthday surprise, which was truly impressive. The room was spotless with fresh, clean bed linen, and the towels were thick, soft, and high quality. The saltwater swimming pool was excellent, and the breakfast was freshly prepared and delicious. I would definitely love to come back again.

Burasari Heritage, located in the heart of Luang Prabang's Old Town, offers stylish accommodation with free WiFi and a tranquil riverside setting. Guests are welcomed with refreshing drinks and cool towels upon arrival. The hotel features a spa, cigar lounge, and riverside restaurant where guests can enjoy complimentary breakfast. Additionally, the property has received numerous awards and recognition for its world-class service and romantic ambiance.
The room we had was gorgeous, did not want to leave it. Colonial inspired with tasteful lighting and beautiful woodwork. Loved the extensive wooden balcony, with tasteful furniture, which was also very comfortable. Staff were gracious, polite and extremely helpful. Nothing too much trouble. A special mention for Somair and Pen who gave us a lot of help with travel arrangements. Great location, within walking distance to all main sites.

This hotel is absolutely stunning. It’s a perfect blend of traditional Lao architecture and culture with a touch of French colonial charm. Every corner of the property feels thoughtfully designed — warm, elegant, and full of character. The surroundings are lush and peaceful, with a gentle breeze that makes you feel totally relaxed. It’s the kind of place where you can truly unwind — calm, quiet, and soul-soothing. But the highlight has to be the bed. It’s incredibly soft and comfortable — one of the best I’ve ever slept on. I fell into a deep sleep, completely relaxed, and honestly didn’t want to get up in the morning. It felt like being hugged by a cloud! The staff were also lovely — kind, friendly, and always willing to help with a smile. Their warm hospitality really made the stay even more special. If you’re visiting Luang Prabang and looking for a place that combines beauty, culture, and comfort, this is definitely the one. Highly recommended!

We absolutely loved our stay here, location of the property is perfect and u can walk pretty much everywhere including night markets, rooms are spacious and clean, the bed was incredibly comfortable compared to some other beds we have experienced traveling throughout Laos. Breakfast is À la carte and is absolutely fantastic, but truly the À la carte and most noticeable part of this property is the staff they deserve 10 stars. To be honest the check in lady was a bit coarse and aloof, I don’t believe she made a single eye contact with me, so I was a bit concerned how our stay would go. But after that everyone definitely exceeded met and exceeded our expectations. Our cleaning lady was the kindest person. Also Lit and Pepsi were just incredible, it’s almost like word NO is not part of their vocabulary, they really understood what hospitality is. My only couple of tiny gripes are is that the property is by a main street and it does attract a lot of traffic almost all hours of the day especially early mornings so perhaps asking for one of the rooms in the back of the property would solve the noise problem, also I didn’t absolutely love the spa experience and we definitely had consensus on that in our group (we had 4 total rooms) Overall the value for ur money is unheard of and we will definitely be back in Luang Prabang.
Miro D — Google review
Such a scam. After our stay, despite our repeated reminder to confirm the stay, the hotel kept quiet. As a result, we couldnt claim our cashback offer from agoda. Not to mention the receptionist attitude was not very welcoming when we arrived. Not very typical of Laotian hospitality though.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights before taking a slow boat to Pak Beng to visit the Mekong Elephant Sanctuary. After our time there, we returned to the hotel for one final night before heading off again. The hotel is beautiful, like an old villa. It’s incredibly elegant, with everything made of wood, and it has such a charming atmosphere. We really enjoyed our stay. The first time, we stayed in a standard room, and the second time, they kindly upgraded us to a room with a view of the river. The hotel is located on the opposite side of the Mekong River, in a very quiet and peaceful area surrounded by greenery. We also dined at the restaurant, and the food was excellent. The breakfast was delicious, and the staff was extremely kind and attentive. We had a fantastic experience here and would highly recommend it! The staff was incredibly kind and accommodating. They allowed us to leave our luggage at the hotel during the two days we were away, so we didn’t have to travel heavily loaded. When we returned, they had even placed our bags in our room, ready for us. This level of service made our stay even more enjoyable. We truly appreciated their thoughtfulness and attention to detail.

Nestled at the foot of Mount Phousy, Villa Santi Hotel is a charming blend of history and elegance, once serving as the residence for Queen Khamphan, wife of King Sisavangvong. This 19th-century villa showcases stunning French colonial architecture with its striking white arches and soft green shutters, harmoniously paired with traditional Lao teak interiors. With just 20 rooms, guests can enjoy an intimate atmosphere that reflects the grandeur of Laos' royal past.
I had a wonderful stay at Villa Santi Hotel! The service was great— the staff were very kind and always went above and beyond to assist with any requests. Just had dinner at the main or front building which was nicely decorated for Christmas. It was classy and beautiful with jazz music being played. My friend had Mekong fish in a curry with steamed rice while I had their local khao soi soup noodles with minced pork and fresh herbs. Both were good and the drinks were fine too. Service was great and friendly.

Very disappointing! Don’t come!!! The reception building is newly renovated but not the rooms; they are in different buildings with opposite vibes.. do not believe the reception building pictures, it’s only where u check in and have breakfast (breakfast is so not 4 stars resort breakfast, too normal). The rooms where we actually stay are so old which nothing near the price we paid. The service is so bad, the staff are not friendly; when we checked in the receptionist is on her break time and no one can help us with that, also explain nothing, just gave the keys with no smile or welcoming at all Never ever again

Most beautiful hotel in center of Loang Prabang. Very convenience for accessing surrounding service, viewpoint… highly recommended.

Very disappointing. Firstly the hotel is located outside of town and so its a 10-15min ride to town. On the days we stayed they hadn't planned for the annual festival so there was no courtesy car and no taxis available. Rooms are clean but basic. When we arrived our rooms had been allocated to other guests so check in was a chaotic process with lots of calls around staff and management. Breakfast was incredibly basic - most of our stays in South East Asia have been in 3-star hotels, this was a 2-star breakfast. Pool area is nicely maintained and clean.

Vangsavath Hotel Luang Prabang ໂຮງແຮມ ຫວັງສະຫວັດ is a charming colonial-style hotel offering bright rooms and complimentary amenities like breakfast, local shuttle service, and loaner bikes. Situated at Ban NongKham - Phetsarath Road, the hotel has garnered high praise for its exceptional value and attentive host, Pinkie.
This is a place that is beyond what you are paying for. Pinkie, who runs the hotel, is an amazing host. She will do whatever it takes to make you feel comfortable and at home. She will make everything convenient for your stay. The hotel provides many amenities: breakfast (upon request), a comfortable, clean, calm, and quiet environment. They will book all of the most popular excursions for you with pick up and drop off straight from the hotel. There is a shuttle service that brings you in and out of town…which is very nice for your times exploring the night market. They even have bikes that you can use, completely free of charge!!! Truly beyond worth what you are paying. The rooms are clean and have a very home like environment, very similar to a bed and breakfast. Of course it is not a 5-star resort, but they treat you like you are at one! There is air conditioning (that actually cools the room), they have a laundry service, and provide fresh drinking water every day. My only complaint is that the bathroom isn’t perfect…but at the price you are paying…IT IS SO WORTH IT! I have never felt more welcome!

Authentic Laoation hotel. Filled with wooden furniture floors and ceilings, very colonial. Owners "Pinky" and her mother have spent time and money to build up this hotel, having recently added a nice new swimming pool. I have also learnt that plans are to add a new Spa amongst other things within the next year. So things are definitely looking positive for them. After my activities today of a walking tour of Luang Prabang and seeing temples with my guide Ling...a pool is a good place to unwind and cool down. The breakfast selection, you are asked to provide a list of what you like, I wasnt expecting everything I'd ticked off on the questionnaire...I wont need to eat for a week 😊. Obviously plenty of food is provided. Able to exchange currency here also. Hotel on the main road to Town centre. So many markets and artisan shops to entice you to spend a little on memory making.
Christine Q — Google review
We decided to stay at Vangsavath after reading positive reviews about Pinkie and the service she provided and we were not disappointed in the slightest. Pinkie and the rest of the staff at the hotel were amazing! We found the location to be great as it’s within walking or cycling distance of the night markets and restaurants but not right in the thick of it that you get all of the smoke/smog at night time. Pinkie offers free bicycles to rent as well as a shuttle bus service for what is only a 20 minute walk. They were all incredibly friendly and helpful and really just could not do enough - she even saw us walking back to the hotel on our first evening and picked us up on her way back! Pinkie also helped us arrange a day trip to Kuang Si Waterfalls which was extremely helpful. The rooms are clean, well equipped and have a nice balcony/outdoor seating area which we enjoyed in the evenings. We found the hotel to be good value for money. Thank you for a wonderful stay (and we hope you found the missing cashew nuts 😂)
Ebony — Google review
Myself and my backpacking week long romance stayed here for 3 nights… and what an amazing 3 nights it was! Pinky looked after all of our needs, from assisting us with the happening in the town, to organising our Minibus to our next adventure. The hotel features a second to none pool with complimentary towels which felt like they were woven by the gods. They also provided us with two state of the art bikes. This enabled us to soak in the deep rooted culture of the town, as well as saving our bacon in the early hours of the morning when visiting the alms giving ceremony. I cannot recommend this place any more for you, your family, or your backpacking romance.
Conor A — Google review
We were planning to stay for one night but extended for two more nights because we loved it so much! Pinky was the most amazing host and made us feel so welcome. She gave us recommendations on where to go, we could take bicycles for free and there is a free shuttle to the night market. The pool is incredible the beds are really good, there is a smart tv so you can watch Netflix, a fully stocked mini fridge and fresh towels every day. Even after my stay when I accidentally left my card in an ATM machine I could message Pinky and she helped me find the right resources to get it back. She’s honestly the nicest person ever. Thank you so much for our incredible stay!

Beautiful old colonial house, which has been tastefully extended and recent pool behind. Owners incredibly friendly and helpful, with good English. Free shuttle bus to night market. If we get a chance to return to Laos, will definitely come back here.
Trevor P — Google review
We had an awesome stay in this hotel. Hotel is perfectly located and there is a shuttle to drop you off at the night market! The highlight of the hotel is its breathtaking swimming pool. Extra credits for the host she will do everything to make your stay as pleasant as possible.

Wonderful stay! I originally booked 2 days extended to 4. My host Pinky and her mother are accommodating and delightful. The hotel is a quaint French colonial located not far from the night market. A shuttle is offered in the late afternoon. You might also consider downloading Lao's Uber called Loca. If you tell Pinky the menu you would like the day before they will shop and have it ready the next day. Now, the pool! A brand new chlorine free beautiful pool. Great in the afternoon. They are also working on a garden that is coming along well. Have a great stay!

Stayed here after Laos New Years for acouple of nights. They have big rooms and a breakfast buffet which was fantastic. Staff were really helpful and friendly with our stay whilst we visited all the location attractions. I definitely would recommend. thankyou for having us.

Staff were extremely unhelpful. Due to the bus arriving early we got to the hotel at 6am only to sit in the freezing open air reception. We asked for breakfast which they wanted to charge $14 for a below average looking buffet. Then the second time we asked to check in early as my girlfriend was sick, they said they did have a room but it would cost $5 per hour so $30. Bearing in mind the original booking was $24 per night with breakfast... disgraceful.
Nicholas A — Google review
They don't understand when you order a plate or a drink. Be careful if you order food because the picture doesn't mean nothing, if you like to get a plate with 4 small pieces of crunchy chicken (but iy's not like crispy pork, it's something that you cannot eat), feel free !! You have more onions than all of the other ingredients ... amazing sheet. When you ask a discount for that, excuse me but it wasn't a meal but a small appetizer, they tell you that you "eat", I would like to tell taste only, so you must pay 45 000 KIP. The manager forgot the honesty ... IF YOU WANT EAT --> RUN IN ANOTHER ONE !!! To the hotel: tell me thank you for the comment. To the customers : You're welcome for the advice ✌️

Sala Prabang Breakfast Restaurant is a charming riverside cafe located at the Sala Prabang hotel, offering a serene setting for a delightful breakfast experience by the Mekong river. The cafe provides an extensive menu where patrons can select their preferred beans and brewing method, expertly prepared by skilled baristas. Notably, the sustainably sourced beans come from micro-producers in hill tribe regions near the Chinese border, with profits benefiting local communities.
If you're looking for a quiet place for a fabulous cup of coffee amidst the bustle of Luang Prabang, this riverside cafe fits the bill. They serve crepes and juices too. Look out for the distinctive mini train locomotive which marks the cafe's location!
