I visited during the Nacht des Genusses event, which included a free behind-the-scenes tour of the chocolate making. In addition to the free samples (of excellent quality), I have been very lucky to get an individual tour by one of the employees - which leads to the next point, the employees are very friendly. But here's how our whole first-time experience went. For context we had a 1 year old and a 2 years old with us and it was before 4 PM. First off, waited about 10 minutes to be seated. Luckily their selection of desserts was on display so we didn't mind since looking at the menu is half of dining experience. As we sat down the staff suggested a better seating area to accommodate a toddler's chair (Good service so far, right?). They took our drink orders and we settled down. My 2 years old too, How you ask? by giving him snacks (cucumber, oat cakes, boiled eggs) from home . Any person with kids knows that toddlers can be picky so naturally you bring your own. The two kids were in the middle of munching. Then one other staff says that it was not allowed. Me and my friend were so confused, so we asked "what is not allowed?" She clarifies that the fact that the kids were eating and messing up the table was not allowed 😵‍💫 literally all dining tables get dirty with food 😵‍💫 I was even more confused plus outraged. You can park your car there but I recommend walking there as its close to the train station Bregenz Hafen. Maybe combine it with a stroll at the pipeline when its your first time in Bregenz!

In case it's raining you can sit inside. The decoration inside this bakery will take you to places as it's really unique, some how old and classic but definitely not boring!!

But unfortunately the meat was old. Moldy and dried edges. The cook should have noticed it. And we got nothing for it... they just took the old stuff out of the platter. No discount and no fresh meat. And it wasn't just a cheap menu. That was very disappointing and unfortunately I wouldn't go back there for that.

We had a very nice stay at the Hotel Gotthard in Lech and would go back again. Pros - very friendly staff, especially the breakfast staff. Nice to have a good German/Austria restaurant in the hotel and a bakery too. Clean and large rooms (we had a double with a separate seating area). Convenient location for walking to the ski lifts and to other restaurants and shops in town. Cons - depending on where you are in the buildings, you may not have good WiFi. We didn't have great (sometimes any) WiFi in our room. Parking is off premises, which is ok if you're not using your car for anything.

A wonderful few days staying at this outstanding hotel. The staff , service, food and wellness ammenities were second to none. I dropped my credit card in the hall and the room service team handed it in to reception which reflects all staff interactions i had. So central with only a few minutes walk to main gondola, lifts, restaurants and bars. A must stay.

The grocery shop SPAR is directly opposite of it and plenty of hiking tours start close to the hotel.

We just spent an incredible week at the Hotel Gotthard!.It could not have been any better! The accommodations were impeccable. In addition, a wonderful breakfast, including fresh breads from the in-house bakery, is offered each day.
