Island
Nature & Parks
Mainau, also known as the Flower Island, is a picturesque island on Lake Constance that can be accessed via a bridge. It boasts beautiful parks, gardens, and a greenhouse. The island offers various attractions throughout the year such as the legendary Fasnacht, open-air theatre performances, and a Christmas market by the lake. Additionally, visitors can explore unique destinations like Sea Life and thermal baths for relaxation. Mainau's Butterfly House is particularly popular among tourists.
A wonderful Island in the beautiful city of Constance(Konstanz). This island is decorated with thousands of varieties of flowers, each one more beautiful than the other. With a breath-taking view of the lake Bodensee, you can wander around the island and won't get enough out of it.
Rohit K — Google review
the island is very pretty and has a lot to offer, many different kinds of nature sections and lots of things for kids around/ food places etc but was quite expensive (especially because i didn’t have long to stay which is not an issue of the place) but i could see how it could be kind of worth it as a whole day activity
Nicole B — Google review
The island is incredibly beautiful — everything is in bloom and so well maintained! However, we were really disappointed to find out (a bit too late) that the butterfly house has different opening hours from the rest of the park. We arrived just 10 minutes after it closed and sadly missed it. It would be great if the timing was clearer on the map or signs.
Sofiia B — Google review
One of the most beautiful gardens in Germany. You need at least 4 hours. The entrance fee is approximately 25 euros, but it is worth i
Jamaan B — Google review
Perfect place for nature and flower lovers. Every season has its own color and the blooming plants. Old trees like Tilia over 100 years old. Beautiful views and walking aleys. Next time, I would bring some lunch and enjoy a picnic.
Sanja T — Google review
A truly spectacular island of history and beauty. Definitely worth the journey.
Cathy S — Google review
Great place to visit if in Konstanz. Check out the butterfly orangery and see butterflies with clear wings.
Fiona L — Google review
I can bet it is the most beautiful places I have visited. For the tulips, instead of visiting Keukenhof, this is a better place. Surrounded by nature, play gyms for kids, animals where kids can even feed the goats was a holistic experience. We went with our 2months old baby and it was quite smooth. There were ramps everywhere. Accessibility was not a challenge. The tulips were beautiful. There were other flower exhibitions as well indoors. A must visit for everyone!!!!! The connectivity via ships is also very smooth and timely. We went from Meersberg to Mainau.

Yum yum yum!! It took us so long to decide on a dish because all of their food sounds amazing. We ended up getting an entree and a main, and both were absolutely delicious! Great wine, nice view, and friendly service, all for an affordable price.

Five star restaurant with domestic German cuisine. Very kind and well educated personnel. Large choice of the main dishes, poultry and fish. Of course excellent choice og German beers, alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. Warmly recommended....

Excellent reception, service and food. I can only highly recommend it 🙂 👍🏻. We went as a family and with a golden Retriever dog 🤗.

Great for dinner, definitely book a table before coming by. We brought two dogs with us and could sit on the terrace. Delicious food! Service a bit slow because they wait many tables
Laura D — Google review
Food: Very good, well seasoned, nothing to complain in terms of flavor. It is a bit expensive for the size but then again, it's a rather expensive restaurant so one cannot expect massive dishes for the prices. Service: Extremely nice waiters, super fast service, no issues to pay with cards. Location: It has a beautiful view and it's hard to miss given the size of the old town and that it's next to the train station.

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Konstanz, Germany, the Kaiserbrunnen, or Emperors Fountain, stands as a striking red stone obelisk adorned with captivating sculptures that pay homage to historical figures. This iconic landmark not only highlights the city's pivotal role in the Holy Roman Empire but also serves as a delightful gathering spot for locals and visitors alike.
Free to see. Located in a very nice square in a pedestrian area. Beautiful fountain with many water displays. There's a bronze horse statue you can sit on beside it. You can get here easily from the train station. It is close by. There are also public washrooms at the train station. It is such a nice area. Suggest you get a drink or an ice cream and just enjoy the atmosphere.

It's a beautiful place, a lot of people specially on weekends and surrounded by many stores, shops and restaurants. It is easy to access and explore. The last Saturday 2 August there was a lovely band playing for free, it was nice to see their energy and enjoy the music.

Be really careful when you walk around this place day time or at night. Witness a robbery/crime near this area by a guy who covered his face and bike away down the alley through the tunnel somewhere here tonight around 6pm (Saturday 22.02.2025). Guess nowhere is safe including Swiss-Germany border.

The Rheintorturm museum is located on the side of the Rhine River, just close to Swiss. It is a tower that was used as a defense tower and a gate. The atmosphere in this area is extremely nice, and the lake is very close that makes people can swim and go for a picnic too. This museum is perfect for someone who wants to take a peaceful vacation!
Kinda nice to see, but not much to do.

Of course, the age of the tower and its historical value are very high. True, we did not get inside. The tower was closed. But we read the information on the walls of the tower.

(Translated by Google) A beautiful tower on Lake Constance I went to see this tower with my girlfriend during a day in Constance. The building is located on the shore of the lake near the main bridge that connects the two parts of the city. Under the vault you can pass freely and come to overlook the water to take beautiful photographs with the city in the background. The area is very popular especially with tourists looking for the perfect shot. The area is easily accessible on foot, by bicycle and by public transport. (Translated by Google) A well-preserved city gate tower from the Middle Ages and part of the former city fortifications of Konstanz. The wooden bridge over the Rhine was not rebuilt after the last fire in June 1856. For a time the tower also served as a prison. The back of the tower was not made of bricks (square shell tower) so that the attacker could not entrench himself in it after conquering the tower and was vulnerable to fire from the defenders. Until the end of the Middle Ages, most of the floors were probably still visible.

Konzilgebäude is a historic 600-year-old building located between the neogothic train station and city park. Initially a warehouse, it later became a religious site and was where Pope Martin V was elected in 1417. Today, it houses a restaurant serving traditional German dishes like wiener schnitzel and offers stunning views across Lake Constance. The building is well-maintained, with event rooms showcasing the city's history through murals.

Aquarium
Zoos & Aquariums
SEA LIFE Konstanz, located in the city of Konstanz, Germany, is a popular family-friendly aquarium offering a diverse range of marine habitats to explore. With over 30 aquariums spanning 3,000 square meters, visitors can marvel at more than 3,000 freshwater and saltwater fish as well as various sea creatures like sharks, rays, and sea turtles. The attraction provides an opportunity for both kids and adults to discover the underwater world without getting wet.
Went here with my parents to show them something nice in Konstanz ,didn't knew the existence of a aquarium so close to where I live and I had to visit it ,went there in a Saturday it was incredibly crowded ! BUT the content inside is amazing ,so many pretty fishes some big and ugly ,the ocean recreations in small tanks is incredible ,it's like watching a small part of the deep ocean just in front of you ! It's very large ,it even has a kinda glass tunnel where the fish ,sharks and even sea turtles can be seen crossing above you ! So cool! The entry for wheelchairs is easy there is a large ramp but some parts inside have stairs might be difficult to move ,dunno if there is someone who helps or alternative rout at the end there is a gift shop with plushies and other stuff also is where the nature museum is just go up the stairs and you will be at that museum ( yes in the gift shop)

Pretty cute aquarium mostly designed for children, with a sad 46 year old Carp and sea turtle. The natural history exhibits are informative. And you can walk across the Swiss border for a snack along the shore.
Chef S — Google review
Nice place to visit with the kids. It's not the biggest aquarium but nicely put together and interesting. The tanks were nicely decorated as well. Parking was a bit crowded but not very expensive.
Jens J — Google review
Buy tickets before. Too crowded, even though they work with time slots. Very good for small kids, not for adults. The app with animal recognition doesn't work well. It's announced as in German and in English, but only German is available in the app. Bistro is good! All text is only in German!
Gert A — Google review
Disappointing. It is so overpriced for the variety of species you can see there. There is nothing special at all. It’s so small and that I really couldnt believe that was all. Doesn’t make sense to drive if you live far away. And definitely not worth the price you pay. You can visit much better places for this price.

perfectly presented aquariums, large variety of species, interesting lecture about penguins, small museum about nature
Ari F — Google review
I had an okay experience at the aquarium. While there were lots of fish to see, I felt bad for the penguins because their space seemed quite small. It was also pretty loud with so many people around, which made it a bit uncomfortable. Overall, it was nice to see the variety of marine life, but I wish the conditions for the animals were better.

Monuments & Statues
Imperia is a famous landmark in Konstanz, located at the end of the city's pier. This nine-meter-high concrete statue, created by local sculptor Peter Lenk, depicts a woman holding miniature statues of Pope Martin V and Emperor Sigismund. The statue rotates around its axis once every four minutes, attracting visitors with its audacious mechanism and aesthetic appeal. Imperia is known for its controversial yet intriguing portrayal of a barely dressed woman wearing a fool's cap.
Imperia statue is the highlight of Konstanz, the statue is slowly turning around- 360 degrees. It’s nice to watch. In general the surrounding is amazing. Any time of the day, is enjoyable. But can be crowded over the weekend. Overall recommend it!
Maria A — Google review
Free to see. Nice attractions. The statue slowly revolves. Boardwalk there is very nice and sturdy. Can be crowded on weekends. The boardwalk is an active ferry docking area. There are restaurants and snack stands all over which can add to the crowd.

A stunning statue by the artist " Peter Lenk" raised in 1993 ,this statue represents a satire of the old council from konstanz ,if you look at here raised arms you will see 2 men each in her hands ,one represents pope Martin V with tiara and the other the emperor Sigismund , you might find it ugly ,I find it interesting ,it always rotates 360 ,and you can see it for yourself ,this place is almost always crowded so be careful !

One of the most popular tourist spots in Konstanz! This statue of a lady holding two historical figures and installed on a rotating pedestal does catch the eye! The area around holds the harbour port and offers spectacular views of the lake and the Alps at the horizon. A very nice place to walk through and sit during any time of the day. Highly recommended!

Interesting, old, local museum. Some lovely old exhibition cabinets. Museum describes the history of the region from dinosaurs until WW2. Very comprehensive exhibition about national socialism in Konstanz. Well balanced and without false excuses. Was very impressive.

There is a *lot* see here, especially in the first room with an enormous collection of fossils, rocks, tools... Way too much to take in! Each room has a different character, a different story and interesting content from pile dwellers seeking fish to guild members brawling over ideas. Well worth a visit and inexpensive.

Herosé Park is a popular destination in Konstanz, located on the site of an old textile factory. The park offers a peaceful retreat with its shady trees and well-maintained greenery. Visitors can stroll along tranquil paths and admire the lush surroundings, as well as explore monuments like the Kaiserbrunnen fountain that honors past emperors. Situated by the Rhine, the park provides benches for relaxation and easy access to the water for swimming or enjoying snowy winter days.
Awesome to chill but cigarette butts contain plastic and toxins - don't throw them on the ground to mess up this beautiful place! Leave no trace.

Mehmet E — Google review
It's lovely park, during summer it's full for 24/7 and it's more like city beach than a park then. During winter it's quite and nice there for a walk or to sit down for a bit on one of numerous benches. There is free public toilet right after the bicycle bridge.
Diana K — Google review
Very nice by the Rhein. Plenty of space and a small Spielplatz for the children.
Mario C — Google review
It's a small park on the bank of the Rhine right next to the bicycle bridge, on the Pertershausen side. There are benches along the river bank. Nice to sit and watch the river or bask in the sun.. have a picnic if the weather is nice, or make snowballs on snowy winter days. One can access the water easily for a lovely swim in summers, or icy dips in winters (yes, I saw people do icy dips here!). There are a few playthings for children..a seesaw, a trampoline etc. I love the weeping willows and the conifer trees.

Nice spot to have a swim and relax: - toilets available - a truck where you can buy beverages (non alcoholic) - big trees for the shady chill we all need - different spots to grab food nearby. No entrance fee which is nice as well. Just hate all the littering. It's mostly small stuff like beer caps and cigarette buds but that is just as annoying and shouldn't happen in my opinion.
Simon B — Google review
Nice spot - if people would take their cigarette butts and other garbage to the (available) bins. Depending on the spot, it's quite a hassle to prevent toddlers from harming themselves. Otherwise a nice location to chill out.

The Pulverturm, constructed in 1321 by the Jewish inhabitants of Konstanz, is a remarkable historical structure. This squat and robust edifice boasts walls that are two meters thick. Its presence cannot be overlooked when entering Konstanz via the bridge, as it stands as a welcoming symbol of the city's history. It is highly recommended to observe this tower closely, as its intricate details and significance make it a sight worth beholding.

(Translated by Google) The Powder Tower was built in 1321 as a warehouse for gunpowder and cannons, its walls are two meters thick. Several centuries later, it was used as a prison, and the tower was popularly called the Jewish Tower. Wealthy Jews languished here in prison, often on trumped-up charges. They could only leave prison for a hefty bribe, and those who refused were tortured. From its top, there is a beautiful view of the city and the Rhine. If you walk along the embankment from the Rhine Tower to the Powder Tower, you can see several sculptures, one of them is of the Grand Duke of Baden Leopold. I walked here in May 2022.

(Translated by Google) The Powder Tower in Konstanz, built in the 14th century, is an impressive testimony to the medieval city fortifications. With its 21 meters height and thick walls, it is the smallest of the remaining towers, but at the same time the one with the most fascinating history. Originally named the "Brick Tower" after the adjacent quarter, it later served as a weapons depot and was given the name "Powder Tower". In the Middle Ages it was even known as a prison for Jews, which is reflected in the name “Judenturm”. Despite being demolished in the 19th century, the Powder Tower remained intact, possibly thanks to the efforts of city councilor Ludwig Leiner. During the Second World War it served as a military bulwark. Today the tower houses the Niederburg fool's society and offers breathtaking views of the city. Visitors can climb the steep stairs and experience the unique atmosphere of this historic place.

Today, it stands as one of three remaining fortifications defining the southern end of the old town.
Free to see. Very beautiful and well-maintained structure. Large tower with its surrounding building make for a nice sight and picturesque area. It is located near a crosswalk so be careful framing your pictures. It can be busy because of it. There did not appear to be any way to go inside or up the tower.

Located in Konstanz, Germany, Il Boccone is a stylish glass-walled trattoria with a spacious terrace that offers an authentic Italian atmosphere. Guests can enjoy occasional live music and stand-up comedy while indulging in a diverse menu featuring pizzas, European specialties, Mediterranean delicacies, as well as healthy vegan and vegetarian dishes. The restaurant's beautiful ambiance and pleasant terrace make it an ideal spot to savor thin and crunchy pizzas while immersing in the Italian vibe.
I recently visited Il Boccone and was truly impressed. The restaurant has a beautiful and welcoming atmosphere, with a stylish interior that creates the perfect setting for a relaxed meal (the food is really delicious). The ambiance is warm and elegant, making it an ideal place whether you’re dining with friends, family, or for a special occasion.

We avoided it for more than a year but went back today, to join a befriended couple who made the reservation. Food was better than remembered but value for money is not given. Atmosphere was non existing as some kind of solo musician tried to entertain the entire city of Konstanz. Way too loud, conversations were difficult. Service was so so. Some nice staff members, some not so motivated members, but the worst part was the arrogance of the evening manager. It was so bad, that we considered reaching out to the owner who is personally known by our friends who made the reservation. I can not really recommend this place

We visited this restaurant last Saturday for a late lunch. There were enough seating areas. The service was slow but staff were friendly and courteous. Thank you. My husband ordered pizza Tonno/tuna. He described it tasteless. My pasta was quite dry. Tiramisu was served in a glass and tasted good thankfully. We chose to walk in this restaurant as dogs were allowed. Nice, that they used the stairs wisely and offer comfortable seating there. How the food tastes is personal matter. Go make your own opinion.

Great service. Friendly staff. Authentic Italien food. Great atmosphere. Thomas is a kind and forthcoming owner of the restaurant. 2024 update: still a great place. Service was a bit slow on our last visit in March. Mostly because of too many customers and too little staff. Hope this was just a one time occurrence.

I believe this place does not deserve the money and time spent. I have never been so disappointed. The waiters were very friendly and helpful but the service was extremely slow, we waited at least half an hour just to get the menu and another half hour to eat appetizers and drinks. The appetizers were ok but not that good, the main course was very sad, I wanted to cry. The overall atmosphere was not very comfortable. Would never go again and would not recommend it.

We enjoyed a delightful lunch at Brasserie Colette Tim Raue, savoring the delicious food. We made a reservation a day prior. The service was excellent, and the location was very convenient. We had the onion soup, artichoke pasta, and crème brûlée, all of which were delicious and highly recommended.
Chris C — Google review
The food was excellent—creative, delicious, and artfully presented. Each dish was a testament to the kitchen’s finesse, and the service matched the culinary experience with warmth and attentiveness throughout the evening. That said, in its commitment to channeling the look and feel of a Parisian brasserie, the restaurant may have gone a touch too far in replicating the aesthetic. While charming in style, the seating left much to be desired in terms of comfort. The classic small round tables, though authentic in theme, proved impractical—barely large enough to hold two dinner plates comfortably, let alone shared dishes or wine glasses. It’s a detail that slightly detracts from an otherwise wonderful dining experience.
Vic N — Google review
We have been around the world and we love good food for various budgets. If you are willing to splurge a little, go to Colette and choose the chef's selection set menu. I have a new favourite chef. He challenged my palette at times and showed me completely new dishes that I absolutely loved. These are not dishes that one can forget. Our server was very knowledgeable of the wine and helped us pair with the food and accommodated our preferences of half glasses, etc. He spoiled us and deserved the 50 euro tip and then some. I can't praise this place enough and loved everything about it. Spoil yourself for meals you won't forget in a year's time. You won't regret it. BRAVO!

The Konstanz Münster cathedral is a beautiful and historic church that is open to the public. It features beautiful frescoes, statues, and an observation tower. There are also two organs available for use.
This is a beautiful Catholic Church that you can pay a couple euros to go up to the top of the tower. It’s a lot of steps so get ready but it’s a great view up at the top. The people here were super nice and friendly and even spoke English I’ll take my friends back here.

This historical amazing cathedral in Konstanz is pure beauty inside the wood carvings and statues to the splendour from the Stained glass across the cathedral , this cathedral is dated to the 8th century ,this might you idea for how much time it has been in there , I can't describe how beautiful it is because I want people to go and visit ,the photos mean nothing compared to yourself visiting such places ,knowledge is always a great thing ! By the time of my visit it was in maintenance so yes a lot of scaffolding around the entrance ,but you can still enter , and admire the inside . It also has a crypt ,just go forward when you reach the altar you will see stair on each side go to the left side you will see a door with stairs going down ,inside there some artifacts !

We went here for dinner on a Sunday evening while we were shopping in Konstanz. Called ahead but reservations weren’t needed on that day. The location of this restaurant is bit inside the main city and away from the Konstanz train station and Lago Mall/Konstanz shopping area. We were traveling by car so we had no issues but if you are using public transportation, multiple connections may be needed to reach here. The cuisine here is a mix of Singaporean, Malaysian and Indian food. We had the vegetarian thali and the butter chicken with garlic naan. Food was surprisingly delicious, we had low to no hopes of finding authentic and tasty Indian food because we have been disappointed a lot in Europe in general, but we were pleasantly surprised. Service was fast and the servers were friendly and nice. Overall we had a very fulfilling dining experience after a tiresome day of shopping. Highly recommended when craving for good Indian food in Konstanz or wanting to try other Asian cuisines. Enough parking in front of the restaurant.

Old Swedish Residence here is the island has been preserved very well. It is also well decorated and renovated inside. There’s also a small garden next to the Schloss with a great lake view.

Great island. Beautiful gardens. Amazing landscape from Lake Konstanz. Super playground for children.

This is a great place to spend the day, especially when all of the flowers are blooming. The island has numerous paths to wander through the flowers trees, and along the water. There are big playgrounds for children and plenty of places to grab food or an afternoon drink. We didn't go into the main house but the palm garden was amazing and the butterfly house was worth waiting in line for. Highly recommend!

Day trip here is enough. Coming here by ferry is easy or drive from Konstanz is another route. The Castle is well preserved and garden is marvelous! There’s a gorgeous Baroque church with intricate ceiling frescoes! So lovely in summer but lovelier in spring when all the bulbs and spring flowers and other plants start to blossom! There are wedding venues as well at the back of the castle! The Schloss Cafe is nostalgic serving delicious cakes and pastries. I wouldn’t want to miss this when in Bodensee! Worth the trip !

The castle it self on the island is nice from the outside with it's bright colours but from the inside was only one exposition of a photographer and the rest was a shop. The island though is a must visit

Casinos & Gambling
Casino Konstanz is a well-known casino in Germany, part of the Baden-Wurttembergische Spielbank GmbH & Co KG. Despite its average or small size, it offers a thrilling experience with various table games and over 100 slot machines. The casino has a dress code but is known for its friendly staff and clean environment. It's popular for classic games like roulette, blackjack, and poker, as well as offering special promotions for first-time visitors.
Easy to enter with required dress code, if it is your first enter, they may offer one time free roulette to give you 50 euros. Many slots there, blackjack desks, roulette desks(seems favorite), poker as well. I am not fan of kinda places but seems clean and quality one.
Uğur K — Google review
The overall experience with the staff is highly disappointing. The team is incredibly unfriendly, and the cashiers behave as if they are doing you a favor instead of providing a service. The roulette dealers, in particular, are shockingly rude, often acting hostile toward guests as if the guests owe them something. It’s evident that the entire team is in desperate need of customer care training and a complete overhaul of their behavior. Furthermore, the casino itself feels unfair, leaving no genuine chance for players. The lack of transparency in the games is strikingly obvious. Improvements in professionalism, courtesy, and fairness are long overdue.

Fantastic site to see. There are six roulette tables. For the first time, there are no entry costs. Food and beverages are not too pricey. You can visit there for leisure, and it's located near the bank of the sea with a beautiful view.

To be honest I don’t understand why Casinos in Europe require you to wear formal like as if you are going for a presentation. Usually they ask you not to wear sports pants, which is understandable, but this casino even ask you to wear a jacket, which is pretty funny, I am here to gamble not to give a presentation to the prime minister himself. And in addition you have to pay a €6 entrance fee, which is totally funny. I rather go to Casino Bregenz, no need to wear jacket, no need to pay entrance, and you get €30 chip for €27 euro as entrance gift.

The Hus-Museum in Konstanz offers a captivating journey into the medieval world and the life of Jan Hus, a prominent Czech reformer. Housed within the historic walls of the old town, this museum pays homage to Jan Hus and his impact on European history. It provides insights into the Council of Constance and captures the essence of that era. Visitors can expect to learn about Jan Hus's travels from Bohemia to Constance and gain a deeper understanding of the European Reformation.
Nice and free museum, where you can get a lot information about our mistr Jan Hus. It is cared by Czech people and for mě, it was a first time that i heard our Czech language in 4 weeks on my way across the Germany. So it was so Nice and Happy to be here and it was one of my goals to saw this Museum and also they celebrated 100 years :)

Interesting historical information regarding Czech priest, reformer and martyr Jan Hus who was executed in 1415 in Constance. This house is his last residence and is the setting for the museum. The entrance is free at the time of my visit, however donations are appreciated.

Unfortunately we had no chance to see the museum. We had a dog (me, my wife and my daughter) and when I walked inside the house the lady at the desk start yelling in German, than in Czech, that dog is absolutely not allowed to be inside. We were inside like 1,5 metres. She told us to go outside and wait until she cleans the floor and than she closed the door. We were like What? Is she real? What is going on? It was quite raining outside and after couple of minutes she didn't showed up we gave up. My wife wished to see it. So if you have a dog don't even try to come here. 🙁 I still give 4* as I believe the museum must be very interesting but attitude of the lady was very unpleasant so 1* less.

Nice exhibition about Jan Hus with some interactive features. The admission is free, but you can donate money tu support the museum. The lady at the reception was very nice and provided us with additional information on Jan Hus related places to visit in Konstanz. She also speaks Czech, which felt a bit like at home :)

(Translated by Google) The day before yesterday we wanted to look at the Roger Humbert photographs. Were directed to the tower by an older gentleman at the library counter, he said it could be there, but he wasn't sure. When we got there we were told that you had to pay the entrance fee around the corner. There is a restaurant around the corner, where we were told "what's going on in the building is none of our business, we are only responsible for the restaurant), go to the entrance. Back at the entrance, the second counter was now occupied, and the young man said that you have to buy the tickets on the first floor. Up to the first floor and sure enough, we bought the tickets so that we could walk back to the tower on the ground floor. The motivation of the employees is really questionable. They don't seem to be interested in what's going on in this building at the moment. For a tourist, who travels two hours by car, a really good sign that you will never come to this area again. They seem to have no interest in their job at all and they are also unfriendly.

Never before had I been able to get such a comprehensive impression of this painter of flowers and flower creatures, dwarves, elves and fairies. In addition to drawings, you can admire many watercolors and some oil paintings and you also get an insight into his CV. The exhibition is rounded off with a room in which life-size costumes for a performance with his flower creatures can be seen. Anyone who knows this painter's picture books can immerse themselves in this world in greater depth. Of course, the pictures are also a very nice enrichment for those who don't know them.

Of course, the coffee machines had already been cleaned by 11 p.m., and shortly after, the chairs were put on the tables. I'd rather stay until midnight, but then properly! nice enough place to lounge in the sun and all the necessary facilities (toilets, changing rooms etc) especially considering it’s free. food stand on site too with relatively good prices, the main issue is the shore itself- it is a VERY pebbly beach and extremely slippery when walking in and stays shallow for a while so can be annoying to get in/out of the water (even with the railings provided)
Nicole B — Google review
Great free area with grass in sun and shade and easy access to lake for swimming. Nearby parking for reasonable rates. Lovely place to relax and swim on a sunny day. Also a cafe on site and beach volleyball courts. Very peaceful. Free showers available. Lake is shallow to start with, easy to get in the water down one of the many ramps with railings along the lakeshore.

Great for sports and sunbathing. The lake wasn't great: too many rocks, algae, and even larvae, which I guess is an indicator of clear waters, but not my ideal mates for swimming.

Bodensee-Therme Konstanz is a modern spa and sports pool located near Lake Constance. With 3,000 square meters of water, it offers various amenities for visitors to swim, bathe, and relax. The facility includes family-friendly features such as low showers and small changing facilities for young children. Additionally, the spa boasts indoor and outdoor pools, a thermal pool with views of the lake, a sauna area, and an open-air pool with warm temperatures.
I had an absolutely wonderful time at the themes. From start to finish, the experience exceeded my expectations. One of the highlights was the exceptional professionalism of the staff. Everyone was friendly and attentive, but I want to especially mention one employee with tattoos and curly hair. The warm and welcoming attitude really stood out and added a personal touch to the visit. Overall, it was a perfect afternoon, and I’m already looking forward to coming back. Highly recommended for anyone looking to unwind in a serene and well-managed space.

It was our first time visiting this Therme, and we we were pleasantly surprised. The view is amazing. Very clean and well organised. Staff are very kind and polite. Several lifeguards around the pool inside and outside. ☆☆☆☆☆☆ We are a family of six and really enjoyed every second. 😀

Lovely lake side swimming pool, great for the family. We went on a rainy day, but still used the slides and swam in the lake. Exceptionally well organised and clean. Not too busy (Late July).

We paid €75 for a family with three young kids (3, 6 and 9). That is definitely the most expensive swim I have ever had!! We were told there was no family ticket in July- quite a family unfriendly policy. The kids pool was also closed when we were there as it was being renovated. It’s a nice pool just very, very expensive.
Rachel K — Google review
Absolutely fabulous 3 hours here. We visited at 1230pm and it wasn’t to busy. The changing facilities are immaculately clean, the lockers are spacious and free to use with your wristband (hold the wristband against the button to open and close). The wristbands also allow access via the footpaths to the outdoor area. There is a large indoor pool which was 33°c. Outside there is another large pool which is heated. There are two large slides which go into the another outdoor pool, this one is not heated. You can access Lake Constance via a foot bridge from the outdoor area. There are steps into the lake at the end of the bridge. There are indoor and outdoor cafe areas which provided lights meals and drinks. There are no shaded areas around the pools but there were plenty of trees and some umbrellas on the grassed area beyond the pool. There are sun beds around the pools inside and out. The number 5 bus runs from the city centre about every 30 mins and stops right outside the entrance to the facility. Entry was less than €50 for 4 adults and 2 children. Easily the best value for money in town! Brilliant day out.

One of the most satisfying Therme I been in Germany. Normally there is always one thing I didn't like about every Therme. for example, If it's huge than it's sometimes bit dirty or if there is so many things to do, there is just too many people or the food is bad and so on. But this Therme, I have nothing bad to say. Location is fantastic. You can see the Bodensee in the Therme and there is a bus station right in front of the Therme. It is very very clean and the water quality is really good. There is not too many people on the week days and it's better to buy a ticket online before you go. There is a limit of people going in. The food is also very nice. Such a high quality. The service is top and the design inside is really stunning. I have really nothing bad to say about this place and would definitely recommend this place and visit here everytime I visit Konstanz. They accept cards and cash and you could borrow Towels.

I went there with my family two little children. Overall everything is good water is clean and not burning the eyes. You don’t have many choices in Food and the food is not so fare in pricing my suggestion is that being healthy and energetic foods like bananas, fruits and little bread specially if you have kids even for yourself. BRING WATER! that’s true that you spend all your time in water but you can’t drink it personally I didn’t see any drinking water and of course you can buy it in high price! So bring water with you BRING TOWELS this is the best practice have a towel with you inside and have some in storages. The cleanness is generally good I give 85 from 100 even I can give more. There is almost no one to take care about people in water immediately (no one is near potential dangerous spots) so please keep an eye on yourself and family. Generally the water depth is 135 Cm so if you have children below the age of 10 you have to always carry them with you and this is not a good thing. The place is so warm and nice I really liked it. you can go outside in open space camping and use the view and also you can use the view from inside if you don’t like sun-burn or wind on your body. In outside there is some pools and also you can reach to beach and surf in the sea. Casually there is young couples making love and enjoying themselves, while this creates really beautiful love scenes but it sometimes also contains erotic act so if you have kids be aware of them. Personnel is almost nice and friendly but not that much good that I excepted. There is a great and really safe place for children with a good and safe engineering even for 4 years old babies it’s really safe. Bath and WCs are great and if you have disabilities the BodenSee really is a good place for you. They really took care about the people with disabilities. Generally I liked it and I would like to so again there because the relax and water quality. I recommend it. viel Spaß

It's a super cosy spot with amazing fish dishes, just like you'd expect. The only slight downside-if you can even call it that-is that the meals felt a bit unfinished.

(Translated by Google) A beautiful and varied climbing forest with a lot to offer. However, you should have a bit of skill even for the "easy" courses. The "hard" level is really difficult – everything is doable, but it takes a lot of effort and shouldn't be underestimated. Overall, everything went well; the scheduled start time was only delayed by 20 minutes, even though we arrived way ahead of schedule. Definitely recommended; we'll be back! Kaiserbrunnen Überlingen is a historic fountain featuring clear water in its basin and a statue of Emperor Charles V on the column. The figure may seem diminutive, but it holds historical significance dating back to 1553. (Translated by Google) The Kaiserbrunnen fountain in Überlingen is a beautiful historical monument located in the heart of the old town. Particularly striking is the statue, which sits atop an ornate column and lends the fountain a special presence. While the fountain isn't a major highlight, it's a nice place to stop or take photos while strolling through the alleys of Überlingen. (Translated by Google) The historic Kaiserbrunnen impressed me with the clear water in its basin. Emperor Charles V on the column looks a bit dwarfish. If you wanted to use this figure to compare the art between this figure around 1553 and David in Florence, who was around 50 years older, then Michelangelo's skill becomes even more clear. (Translated by Google) It is absolutely incomprehensible to me why a double fence has to be erected here and the borders have to be closed! Couples are separated and parents are prevented from exercising their care responsibilities and access rights. Both states are to blame at the same time. Konstanz and Kreuzlingen are one city, they share a bus connection and the gas network and much more. Now the city is divided like in GDR times or in North Korea, emergency vehicles drive up and down, the Swiss now have a boat with border guard inscriptions. I stood in front of the fence, stunned, with tears in my eyes and asked myself how such a thing was possible. The virus does not justify separating people by borders! The European idea is currently dead. Hopefully the horror will end soon and there will be no consequential damage to German-Swiss relations.

(Translated by Google) Attention, pun intended: sugary sweet shop. Everything is organic and of a very decent standard. Fine pastries, clearly made with understanding and love. One star deducted because, in my opinion, it lacks a little delicacy, lightness, and that final touch of refinement to achieve absolute top-class quality. The Sachertorte, for example, was a little too moist for my taste, with a little too little apricot jam, and was quite dense. The New York Rosemary Bun, a quirky creation made from croissant dough with a jam filling and rosemary, was basically successful, but the croissant dough is a bit overpowering around the edges, and the jam filling, which adds a bit of moistness, is only in the middle, where it's very concentrated.

It can be argued that art is highly subjective, and though one may not comprehend it fully, the Peter-Lenk-Brunnen sculpture undoubtedly stands as a distinctive masterpiece. Located in a picturesque setting adorned with trees, this awe-inspiring artwork captivates viewers with its sheer beauty and allure. Its intricacy and remarkable design render it truly amazing to behold.
Cool fountain, worth seeing if you visit Konstanz. Especially convenient if you park at Altstadt Parkhaus.

I think it is fair to say that art is very subjective and while I will not claim to understand it, it is certainly a unique fountain. The area around it is tree-lined and very beautiful as well.

(Translated by Google) This work by P. Lenka, unveiled in 1991, is a must-see for every admirer of the artist and visitor to Konstanz. The 9 m high arch has more than 30 characters in its composition, each with their own emotion, their own attitude towards the "car madness". Looking at pictures from earlier times and comparing them with today, one must conclude that the work is in dire need of restoration. In these 30+ years, the work has been damaged by both the "ravages of time" and! AWFULLY! vandals too :( (Original) Šo P.Lenka 1991.gadā atklāto darbu vajag redzēt katram mākslinieka apbrīnotājam un Konstances apmeklētājam. (Translated by Google) If you, like me, did not understand the deep context of the eccentric fountain of Peter Lenk, one of the most famous contemporary sculptors of Lake Constance. The author of this water sculpture focuses on the theme of car addiction, as well as on the behavior of people during recreation. With the help of more than 30 eccentric figures, he necessarily caricatures famous and unknown people, symbolically drawing a parallel between the past and the present. The Constantin Cathedral of 1414-1418 is also a motif, where Lenk depicts the fall of the pope, described by Ulrich Richenthal, as a contrast to the modern "popemobile".

Historische Hafenuhr is a charming historic landmark located in a city with beautiful sights of lakes and rivers. It's a great place to explore on foot, especially on cold winter days when the warmth of the people and the lively atmosphere contrast with the weather. The view of the lake and the Alps is truly amazing, making it a perfect spot to spend some restful time and take in the beauty of nature.
I loved the city and around. Great sight with lake and river. I discovered around by walking on cold winter days and it charms me. The historic landmark and people i met was nice and warm to the contrary of cold weather! I recommend to visit and spend some restful time.

Konstanz leaves a strong impression with its beauty, serenity, and well-organized environment. Situated on the shores of the vast and impressive Lake Constance, it offers stunning views and perfect conditions for relaxed waterfront walks. The promenades are clean, well-maintained, and spacious, with plenty of benches and greenery—ideal for resting, sightseeing, or simply enjoying the view. The city center blends historical charm with modern convenience, offering everything you need within walking distance. Parking is very well arranged—there are plenty of lots and garages right in the city center, making the visit easy and stress-free. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy natural beauty, cultural offerings, and a peaceful atmosphere all in one. Spitalkellerei Konstanz is a charming winery that offers classic regional grape varieties from Lake Constance. While the wines are good, some may find them lacking a standout flavor. The prices are generally on the higher side for this region. It's considered the best option for local wine in the Bodensee area and their Pinot Noir comes highly recommended.
I have lived in Konstanz for several years, and it's not easy to find good local wine. This celler is the best you can get in the Bodensee area. I was pleasantly surprised when a close friend invited me to the Christmas Garden event at Insel Mainau. The circular route on the island offered a delightful experience with its enchanting theme of fairy tales. Thanks to Lake Constance, the weather was exceptionally enjoyable, making the entire journey even more pleasant. The highlight of the event was undoubtedly the stunning light show, which I highly recommend attending.
Incredible lighted displays, moving light shows, even lasers. A little pricey but really awesome.

We went on 1 January 2024 and had a very good experience. Indeed, the entrance ticket is a bit overpriced, and the food inside as well, but the visit was, nonetheless, memorable. There are many different animals and motives that have a nice illumination, there is poetry and a nice music that accompanies many of the exhibits. Overall, we could see many nice details that made the visit worthwhile : ).

The first park as you disembark the Konstanzer fairy. Stoney beach but nice sun until 18:00 in August. The water is not Crystal clear and shallow at least 25 meters, so that is actually good for families. We enjoyed it but I find it hard to call it a beach. The major problem is that for ice cream you have to walk back 5 minutes back to the harbor. Might be deadly for your Mövenpick!

The Italian Floral-Water-Cascade made from Ticino granite connects the Mediterranean terraces with the lower lying lakeshore. The cascade is built in the style of Italian Renaissance gardens and is flanked by pillar-shaped cypresses (Cupressus sempervirens).During spring and summer the changing display of flowers exude a Mediterranean flair and in autumn the trees show their wonderful colours.
