This is a nice little place to have a good coffee and smalle bite. if you order big meal, will regret as too expensive. we have 2 coffee and 2 breakfast, total $70 CHF, almost $130 CAD, i never have such an expensive breakfast in my life.........be careful when you order ! Food is not Bad ! just $$$

Fantastic selection of chocolate, macrons, and pre-packaged gifts. Best chocolate we have had on our travels so far! Very expensive but worth a try if you are visiting from out of town.

This is real Swiss chocolate. When you visit this place you see locals having coffee and some treats, or going and buying chocolate for themselves/friends. I think we were the only tourists there for our visit. The staff were fine, but not the best service experience that we have received in Zurich. The selection is amazing. I wish I could have tried everything! Not only is the chocolate delicious, it’s presented in a gorgeous manner.

Confiserie Sprüngli at Paradeplatz is an absolute gem and a must-visit in Zurich. The moment you step inside, you’re welcomed by the warm aroma of fresh pastries, chocolate, and coffee — it instantly lifts your mood. The service is exceptional: friendly, professional, and genuinely proud of what they serve. Their Luxemburgerli are on a completely different level — delicate, airy, and unbelievably fresh. Every pastry and chocolate item looks like a work of art, and tastes even better than it looks. You can really feel the craftsmanship and tradition in every bite. The café upstairs is elegant and relaxing, perfect for breakfast, a coffee break, or a treat after exploring the city. Everything is beautifully presented, and the staff make sure you’re well looked after from start to finish. Sprüngli Paradeplatz is the definition of Swiss excellence. If you want the true Zurich experience, this is the place to go. Highly, highly recommended!

Highly visible corner store on Bahnhofstrasse. Huge selection not only of their famous pralines but also of baked goods, pastries and cakes. Very helpful staff. Go ahead and treat yourself.

It was hard to choose what to buy in this shop. Everything looked so perfect and delicious! We decided on some mini macarons and chocolate covered macarons. We enjoyed the different flavors. My favorite was passionfruit. I wish I had bought some more things here!

The service was really great. Ordered the Sprüngli Waffles. There was no matcha cream served with the waffles as said on the menu. Maybe the cream was inside? Food was nice quality. Slightly pricey.

Wonderful restaurant with a very pretty terrace! Enjoyed every bite. The buffet has many vegan choices and everything's clearly labeled. Only thing I'll add, if you're proud to be the first vegetarian restaurant in the whole world, then make that next step! Fully vegan, you already know you don’t need animal products to create delicious dishes. So what’s the point? 😉💚

The food was very tasty – we had vegetarian dishes, but there are also vegan options available. The meals are flour-based and fresh, clearly prepared on the spot. Even though it was quite busy, we managed to find a table during lunch hours, and the waiting time wasn’t long. We enjoyed a delicious lunch, and although we didn’t manage to take a photo of the dessert, it was definitely worth saving some room for it.

Great vegetarian buffet. Pay by the weight. I tried as many different dishes as I could, and I thought the food was wonderful. Nice seating both inside and outside. My lunch was 20 francs. Not inexpensive but worth it.

This is our go-to restaurant whenever we don’t know what to eat and we are in the city center. Absolutely love the food and atmosphere here. The price is also really reasonable considering its central location. Highly recommend!

The ambiance in this place is fantastic. While the food was decent, the service was somewhat mixed, with some enthusiastic staff and one who seemed less so. I would really appreciate a few recommendations on the menu, along with some background information on the ingredients. For instance, knowing that the honey comes from a farm just 10 minutes away, where bees help pollinate xxx, or that the Kombucha we're served is from a local brewery named xxx, would be wonderful additions to the experience.

Cute cake shop in the Zurich station with really good cakes! We tried the lemon and carrot cakes and they were delicious! The chocolate muffin was also very good! The coffee was also well served and the prices are reasonable. Definitely I would like to come back.

Great coffee and bakery item at this cute shop in Zurich. Located in the subway to public transit area. The shop has outdoor seating (outsidr of the shop but still inside the main building). Definitely try their awesome bakery items: cakes and muffins. Liked their roast of the coffee.

With all the hustle and bustle in Zurich HB, if you find you need a quick refreshing treat,snack,or fast meal, you should run by Gates 10-11 and try out Cakefriends. It’s a wonderful place with lots to choose from healthy cakes, baked fresh daily. Freshly squeezed juices, if you don’t see what you like on the menu, they can just mix real quick. Everything is fresh and made to order. They even have special Georgia Southern Pecans, freshly roasted in a special herb and syrup mix. Prices were great, staff was great. They even offered to let me try a few things. Plenty of seating if you’re not in a hurry. Give them a try, you will love it.

Bachmann at Sihlcity is a wonderful spot for anyone who loves sweets. The location inside the shopping center makes it very convenient to stop by while shopping. Their pastries and chocolates are always fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is welcoming, making it a pleasant place to enjoy a coffee and dessert.

I’ve recently arrived in switzerland for the first time. The luxurious bakery was my first taste of swiss tradition. Bless this store and the sweet staff.

This bakery is AMAZING!!!!! We have tried almost everything here...their salads, bowls, meals, bread, desserts, etc.....we have never been disappointed! Everything is fresh and of very high quality. Their meals are globally diverse (they had jambalaya there a few days ago which i def need to try)! They rotate their menu too, so it's not the same dishes all the time (like at other bakeries/places in Switzerland). And their cupcakes....OMG! After trying 2 "well known" cupcake places in Zurich and not being satisfied, I almost gave up and figured I'd just make my own whenever I'm craving them. But on Valentine's Day, we decided to try their red velvet and their oreo chocolate cupcakes and they were really, really good!!! My only complaint is that the frosting is a little too stiff (like the texture of hard butter even when it is at room temperature) so it doesn't melt in your mouth; but the flavor is still good. And the people that work there are super friendly and always very helpful! Love going there!

A great place to go get something quick and delicious for lunch. Wide changing selection of salad and warm dishes at very reasonable prices. Make sure to go early around lunch time to find the most variety of options. Outside of weekday lunch, the bakery is always great and has very delicious desserts and macaroons.

Very crowded filled with very rich looking locals or tourists. Would suggest try getting a seat upstairs if possible. Prices are on par with regular cafes - perhaps slightly pricier but the quality of chocolate is excellent. Worth a visit if you're a tourist or perfect for a treat or special occassion. Some cakes and treats are more affordable than others so always worth asking. Some light lunch options such as club sandwich is also available. Highly recommend the hot chocolate. As the cafe of Switzerland’s most famous chocolatier, the chocolate treats you get here are good. Though being smack in the middle of Paradeplatz, the value for money and time you might need to wait for a table is certainly not the best.

Confiserie Sprüngli never fails to impress with its quality and atmosphere - the desserts are exquisite and the setting is always charming. However, during this visit the service felt a little less warm and welcoming than expected. Still, for the taste and tradition, it remains a place worth returning to.

The cold chocolate drink was perfect. A bit busy, but you can see why. Luckily didn’t have to wait for a table. But if you want to sit upstairs be prepared to wait longer- even though upstairs doesn’t seem that special tbh. The macarons weren’t that great tbh- had better in supermarkets- but the chocolate drink is wonderful.

I ordered their classic Coupe Denmark with vanilla ice cream. Unfortunately, it was disappointing- the ice cream wasn’t creamy at all and had frozen chunks inside, making it hard to enjoy. On top of that, there was far too much whipped cream compared to the amount of ice cream. For a place known for its quality desserts, I expected better.

I went here for the first time ever and got the worst service from the waitress with curly dark brown hair, didn’t bother finding out what her name was. I asked if she could tell me what’s in Sprüngli coffee, she rudely responded “alcohol”, as if she was bothered that I came there, so I asked what’s without alcohol that I may try, and she said it’s all with alcohol, so after seeing how rude and unwelcoming she is, I just ordered a flat white. When my friend joined me, we wanted to change tables and go inside, so I got my coffee and headed towards entrance, and the waitress yelled out “where are you going!!?? You didn’t pay and you want to run away with coffee!” and I was flabbergasted and embarrassed because she yelled out in front of everyone and all the people looked toward us like we are stealing something. I told her we just wanted to change tables to which she responded (yelling) how that’s not how it works, you have to ask, and pay and be escorted by someone after waiting in line. It was my first time going there, so I had no idea you can’t change tables like in other normal places I’ve had my coffee at. And it would all be fine if her attitude was friendly and if she was kindly informing us of that. However, she was simply rude and had disgusting & hostile attitude. So rude and obnoxious for no reason. Will never come back to this place.

The cafe on level 1 was small and felt chaotic. Didn't realise there was a queue (there were 2 entrances, only 1 has a sign stating to wait for someone to serve you) and sat down at a table, received a "scolding" from 1 of the staff. Be prepared to be cosy with another customer as tables are close to each other. Tried the hot chocolate and it was good but not fantastic. Overall, worth a visit if you are passing by.

This was such a great place to eat. The food was delicious. The staff was very friendly, and the inside of the restaurant is interesting. I do recommend a reservation as we had to wait in line to be seated, and we were seated at a table split with another party of two (which was fine for us, but isn’t for everyone). I did also overhear from another group that bigger parties cannot always be seated without a reservation during their peak dinner time, roughly 6-8pm.

I visited this restaurant three times during my stay, both for lunch and dinner and everything I tried was fantastic! - Pumpkin Soup: One of the best I’ve ever had , light, interesting, and full of flavor. - Chicken Schnitzel with Mushroom Sauce: Perfectly thin and crispy on the outside, juicy inside. The sauce was creamy with a hint of lemon, absolutely delicious! - Rösti: Good but a bit dry for my liking. - Macaroni from their vegetarian options: Made with cheese, potatoes, and caramelized onions. light, comforting, and so good! The atmosphere is super charming, full of character and history. If you’re in a small group, you’ll likely share a table with others, which actually makes it more fun! We ended up having great conversations with our table neighbors :) Can’t wait to come back!

Lovely place. Extremely busy. Huge restaurant with a staff of circa 80. The front of house team were brilliant. Definitely worth booking although it was a lucky tourist find. The food was excellent. The service was outstanding. The building was old and had been around since 1450+/- which is impressive. Generous time at the table. Beer 🍻 was great. The 1L glasses are heavy when full 😂.

Interesting place. It’s an old military arsenal which was converted to a restaurant in 1926. Food was slightly above average but the atmosphere kind of felt like a Disney dining hall. Small parties are required to share tables with others. Weiner Schnitzel and Rösti (hash brown)were average. The pumpkin soup special was above average.

Very busy place. If one don’t have a reservation, be expected to be sharing a table. Atmosphere is great, loud and lively. There is a meal for 2, which includes sausage on a sword. Looks amazing but portion looks big :)

So let's start, it's simple food, the delicious food is the food you need, from the meat burger to the vegan burger, from the sausages and ham to the pork shank, we didn't miss a single dish, we skipped dessert because there was no room in our stomachs, and the waiter who was with us was simply lovely, explaining and suggesting what to eat. All in all, simple and very tasty home-cooked food.

Food was good and tasty. Place too noisy, can hardly hear what my dinner partner is saying. Service was poor. After the waiter took our card out from the machine, he just threw onto the table.

Being vegetarian we had to try this place in Zurich. Oldest Vegeterian restaurant in the world and what unique is serving dishes from different cusines across the world! The people were friendly and very accommodating! Definitely recommend this place if you are in Zurich!

Iconic vegetarian restaurant in the city. Splitted between a buffet self-service on the first floor and and normal restaurant on the second floor. Very large choices, from simple salads 🥗 to various grains. Plenty of fruits on offer. Alcohol and other beverages complete the offer. Service is welcoming and friendly.

One of the best restaurants in Zurich. You can choose between buffet or à la carte. The food is incredibly delicious, and they have a lot of homemade drinks to choose from. The staff is very friendly. I recommend it to everyone !

Pretty good food, interesting pallet. I had the burger and it was really good, the rösti is okay (a bit plain in my opinion) but otherwise really healthy and filling. The tofu salad was super good, quite basic too but the crispy tofu was made quite nicely. Service was good, ambiance was also quite nice (we sat outside in the garden). I definitely wouldn’t say it’s the first vegetarian restaurant in the world and I thought it was also interesting that the menu was primarily Asian dishes.

Chat Gpt recommended me this place and I’m really happy I went. I tried buffet : first main course and then also decided to have a dessert (I got a mix of the mousses 😂) and a coffee. Desserts were just great, light and tasty It’s a great historical place that keeps up with quality. Will go again next time in Zurich

We had a very lovely dinner with the veggie Cordon Bleu and the Steak with fries. Especially the truffle fries were very delicious. The inner yard is also a lovely place to dine while not having too much traffic noise. Service was friendly and quick. Only the family with the kids next to us was really disturbing because the kids were really badly behaved - but this is obviously not the fault of the restaurant. Thus still 5*.

The main plus is the view of Zurich from the 35th floor - really impressive. Easy to get a reservation and wasn't too crowded when we went. Ordered iced tea but couldn't taste any actual tea - more like fruit punch. Had a smash burger with fries. Fries were good, but the bottom bun was dry. First bite seemed juicy but got worse toward the middle. Pretty average overall. Despite the fancy atmosphere, the food doesn't match the luxury vibe they're going for. Annoying that the waiter asked about the bill amount (hinting at rounding up for tip) and then asked about tip again. Found this pushy approach off-putting. Worth going once for the view. Probably better to just get cocktails, but keep in mind they'll seat you in the bar area where you won't get the same window views.

Amazing bar with a truly stunning view: perfect spot for chilling, taking cool pictures, or enjoying a cozy evening. The location is beautiful and they offer a wide selection of drinks to suit every taste. A special mention goes to our waiter, Jaroslav, who made the experience even better. Emily is hands down the best server. Dirk is phenomenal chef. Georg outstanding manager who really knew how to set the tone. Every bite of every dish was incredible. My absolute favorite was the truffle gnocchi. However, the oysters were out of this world w the sauces it was served with. Than the salmon sashimi was impeccable. Then the fresh bread with this cherry balsamic from Germany and oil from Greece was TOOOO GOOD!!! Finally the flank steak with the chimichurri sauce was melting in my mouth. COME HERE TO ENJOY THE LIFE U DESERVE AND TO EAT AND FEEL LIKE A KING OR QUEEN

Clouds Restaurant is one of the best dining spots in Zurich, located in the city’s tallest building, Prime Tower. The breathtaking views from the restaurant make the experience truly special. The food is equally impressive, especially the tartare and steak, which were both delicious and of high quality. The service was quick, professional, and the overall atmosphere was clean and well-organized. Since the restaurant can get quite busy, I highly recommend making a reservation in advance. If you’re looking for a unique dining experience with an incredible view, Clouds Restaurant is a must-visit!

We had drinks at the bar. The view from the highest tower in Zurich was so stunning. I watched the city lights and enjoyed the drink with my friends. Such a nice evening spending time there.

The reception team that takes your coat was very nice. When we arrived upstairs there was a queue. As the place was not crowded at all we passed by the people to check out the situation thinking that it might be a group of oeople waiting for someone. We were happy to find a perfect table with a fantastic view. Very shortly later the waiter came and told us arrogantly that we need ti queue up. Turning around I saw another two unoccupied chairs at the bar. On the way out I went to the server and asked him why he doesn’t make the people who are waiting have a seat. The free seats and waiting people made me confused. The waiter snapped at me how many free sitting areas I saw. I told hin two so far. As a consequence the waiter called me arrogant. Arrogant I assume is to make people wait in line whereas there is space to sit down. I will never again go to Cloud Bar.

Stopped by this bar recently and tried one of their drinks. It was really good and super refreshing. Not too sweet, with a nice balance of flavors that actually made it feel like a proper drink. The staff were super friendly and made me feel right at home, and the vibe of the place was just perfect—relaxed, stylish, and welcoming. Definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to.

Quite highly raved, but in my opinion, the food was just decent and nothing mind blowing. We had to queue for around 20 mins before we got a table at 10ish am. The rosti was a little too dry for my liking and lacked seasoning.

Amazing place !! Came here for brunch on a Saturday at 14:00 without a reservation. Had to wait around 20/25 min to get seated but it was worth it !! The blueberry pancakes are amazing, not too sweet and the maple syrup is a nice touch. The salmon bagel is also really good !

very delicious bakery products. second time in this place and satisfied with everything i had. as a negative comment: this is not about the place itself but like most of the other good places in zurich, it is always crowded and you generally have to wait to get a table. if you are planning to come to this place (for sure give it a try), good luck with it ;)

Stopped by on our way out of town and had the most incredible breakfast! The yogurt bowl and pastry were insanely delicious. There was a great variety of items and the staff was so helpful and kind. Loved it!

The bagels here are amazing! And the coffee is pretty good too. I think the only “negative” thing to say, is that this is clearly not a secret gem. People in Zürich know about Babu’s and it was difficult to find a spot to sit. We found a long queue and our only option was to sit outside on a freezing day. They offered us blankets but they do not have heaters, so we kinda froze anyways… which wasnt nice 😅 the food also took a while to come out, but I guess that also comes with the place being so popular/busy… either way, this goes to explain why 4 stars and not 5. I look forward to come again and sit inside next time! ————— Came back in June 2025 and still delicious. The prices are pretty steep (19 francs for a bagel!) but it is a safe tasty bet!

A wonderful café in Zurich! The place is cozy, the atmosphere is lovely, and the staff are absolutely amazing – always welcoming, kind, and attentive. Service is fast and efficient, and the menu offers a great variety of dishes. Both indoor and outdoor seating are available, which makes it enjoyable in any weather. It’s usually quite popular and often has a waiting line, but the good news is that they offer reservations in advance. During our one-month stay in Zurich, we ended up visiting almost daily and got to know many of the incredible team members: DEWI, COLINA, JANICE, SANUEL, LOSA, ADRIANA, JOELLE, ALISHA, LEA, MARIA, SESIRE, KATHI, GABRIELLA, FABIAN, and EPTHER. Truly one of the highlights of our trip – highly recommended!

Cafe Odeon is famous! It is an iconic place that has been a regular spot for the likes of Albert Einstein, Benito Mussolini, Vladimir Lenin, and many other famous people. The interior is very nice, plenty of nice seating. I enjoyed a cappuccino and admired the history of the place. It is close to the river and the opera house. I think it is a great place to visit for a coffee or a meal while in Zurich!

The coffee is amazing and cocktails are pretty good too. I enjoy visiting cafe and today I tried the bar at night with my friend. We ordered drinks and one Apfel Strudel but seems like the waiter didn’t focus on us properly, we got two of them. I told the waiter who brought it that I ordered only one and the waiter who got our order said in a quite loud voice ‘(swear word that I cannot write because of the google restriction) chinesisch’. I heard it quite well so I asked him did you say ‘(swear word that I cannot explicitly write) chinese’ to us and he said he just said jesus not chinese. I’m pretty sure it starts with rather chi than je but he kept saying that I heard it wrong so I couldn’t do anything more. Still I think none of them is appropriate thing to say.

Over 20 years I have wanted to visit this restaurant. Mainly because it’s historical background. Now I did it. We ordered from lunch menu some kind of a burger or sandwich. It was filled with ham. Sides were fried potatoes. Food was ok but nothing special. Next time I order something more interesting because the menu was more versatile than my order. Interior is lovely and the location also. Service was friendly. Prices are Zürich level. Two “hamburgers” and two sodas with 10% tips was 110€.

Enjoyed a very nice coffee and hot chocolate in this historically significant cafe and bar of Zurich. Would be nice to eavestrough to the conversations of the many important people and notorious characters that frequented this place in the past.

I visited Ideon Bar in Zurich and really liked it. It has that classic old-school charm with dim lights, friendly service, and a relaxed, stylish atmosphere. You can feel the history too, as it’s connected to the old Odeon where Einstein and other thinkers once gathered. The chèvre chaud salad was exquisite, warm goat cheese with pomegranate grapes on fresh greens, beautifully balanced and full of flavor.

Cafe steeped in history which can have a reverent to get ahead of itself. Warm atmosphere with plenty of regulars around which is a testament to its popularity. For sure many famous faces come through Cafe Odeon which has a particular allure, however it is a down to earth venue which will easily captivate one’s senses whilst taking in the history and enjoying a cup of coffee or a meal or a drink. Zurich pricing is tending to be steep but don’t let it dissuade you from spending time at Cafe Odeon.

Yet another one of my favourite places in Zürich, mainly for atmosphere, but also for the mind blowing Apfelstrudel with Vanilla sauce. That day I brought my bestie and we had baked goat cheese salad (baked in filo dough) and hummus. The salad was pretty darn tasty with the combination of sweet and salty flavours popping and hummus very comforting. Cafe Henrichi has my outmost recommendation :)

Excellent spot for breakfast. Small selection but very good variety. Gluten free and vegan options available. The eggs are cooked nicely and come with a good portion of avocado. Bread is warm and fresh, served with butter and tasty jam. The coffee selection is large. We got a flat white (very well made!) and my first time trying a “dirty matcha”, matcha with a shot of espresso. It was very good! Atmosphere is very cosy and comfortable. Very bright inside with lots of artwork. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Overall a great place for breakfast!

A wonderful cafe in Zurich's old town. They offer a variety of flammenkuchen -we tried the Alpine version, paired with a cappuccino and a hot chocolate and everything was great. The service was friendly and efficient, and the cozy atmosphere made it the perfect spot to relax after a walk through the city. We’ll definitely be back.

The açai bowl was the most delicious I’ve ever had, the granola in it tasted divine. I also had an iced latte which was made to perfection and was so refreshing on a hot day. We are New Yorkers and our bagels are very good and hard to compare with, but this bagel was honestly good. Highly recommend this casual cute restaurant with nice outdoor seating and appropriate pricing for the good quality of food.

We stopped by for a flat white. The coffee was good—on the darker side of roasting than what we usually prefer, but still well-balanced and enjoyable. The service was friendly, which added to the experience. The café is nicely located by the square, with both indoor and outdoor seating. Since it was summer, we sat outside and really enjoyed the atmosphere. The place felt cute overall and seemed especially appealing to a younger crowd. We also shared a Flammkuchen, which was super tasty—definitely something we’d recommend trying here. Wi-Fi was available, which is always a plus. All in all, a lovely spot for coffee or a light bite, with a nice location and relaxed vibe.

The atmosphere is super cozy, the staff friendly, and the food is both delicious and made with care. Portions are generous, ingredients feel fresh, and there’s always something on the menu that hits the spot. Definitely one of my favorite brunch places in the city!

Here’s a review in English: ⸻ We came for brunch with my friend and my 5-year-old daughter, and we had such a lovely experience! The food was delicious, the service was great, and the atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. What really touched me was that they gave my daughter a little book to keep her entertained — such a sweet gesture. I definitely recommend this place, especially for families with kids. It’s a great spot for both adults and little ones!

Best fluffy pancakes in town - the right amount of fluffiness, crust and moisture. Topped with cheesecake cream and raspberry compote. The scones are also amazing - freshly made with a crunchy crust and a soft middle.

Loved our experience at this cozy breakfast cafe in Zurich. Wonderful ambience and well decorated with soft furnishing pleasing to the eye. Went there on a rainy drizzly morning with wife and daughter. I had a Veg Bagel, wife a Veg Omelette. We also had a cappuccino and oat milk. Smiling waitress staff. Clean washrooms.

The atmosphere and staff was excellent. The food was ok but definitely isn’t perfect or close to that. This is the first brunch place I tried at Switzerland so I am not sure the level in here, but I have eaten x100 better brunches in the Netherlands, Germany, Italy etc with a fraction of the price.. Zurich is expensive but what I’d expect getting same quality and variety of ingredients while paying the more than double. They can definitely add different flavours to their plates, maybe some pickles jars idk everything was tasting okay but very very plain.

Had a lovely breakfast, the 6 ladies working here are all very friendly, and the cafe is decorated quite cute (coffee is good too)

Absolutely delicious. 1x vegetarian and 1x dairy free and we both regularly eat vegan food. Plates piled high in the buffet about £30 with delicious homemade kombucha which is a must try! Staff were super friendly and offered us samples of their products. We left with vegan ice cream and very happy.

The food is bio and fresh coocked. It’s a buffet and you pay per gr at the end after you choose everything you want to eat. The manager is kind but at the end I wanted to buy the exact alternative feta I ate from buffet and he recommended me another type ( confirming me that its’s the one I want ) even though I specifically asked for the same one.

Went here on our last day in Switzerland and had a great vegan meal. Tried pretty much everything and finished with kombucha and ice cream. Good food, friendly service, and relaxing atmosphere.

We mostly ate vegan eis-cream there. There are a lot of flavours, they taste very good and they give big portions. A big plus is... the kids can taste the flawours before they pick one :)

The ice cream was acceptable in quality but overpriced. This might be justified if considering their wider vegan selection compared to other places. What truly shocked me, however, was the terrible service. The employee/owner intruded into a private conversation I was having with friends as we entered, reacted rudely when I asked for pistachio (without realizing it was sold out—the label was still there), and later accused a friend of speaking too quietly (which wasn’t even the case). A polite request to repeat would have sufficed. Last but not least, he refused to serve frappè (despite it being on the menu) because it was close to closing time, and made other unpleasant remarks. I will definitely not be returning

Extremely unique selections of dried fruits and spices at H. Schwarzenbach! The friendly staff helps navigate flavor profiles and is very accommodating.

Great coffee in a cool little chocolate shop. Can see the coffee beams being roasted next door in an open window. Not much of an area to drink there, but can take to go to cool spots near by. Coffee was very good and the service was very friendly.

Many specialty grocery stores exist, but this is your best option if you're into tea, coffee, dried fruits, or chocolates! The store is roughly divided in half. Facing the building, the right half is dedicated mostly to tea and dried goods with a few other items thrown in. The left half sells specialty chocolate bars and coffee. If you're from the states you'll find those chocolate bars and other items surprisingly cheap. It's worth browsing just to see and smell the selection of this classic shopping choice. Staff is helpful and does speak English.

We came across the tee cafe on our walking tour of Zurich old city. After the tour we went back and enjoyed some famous hot chocolate. It is an institution to visit for chocolate lovers !!

Stumbled upon this place during a walk through the old town, and so glad I did. Just glorious; an old-style store with beautiful displays and a wonderful selection of spices, teas, and other specialty items. Beautifully appointed store, too, with some old style furnishings and decorations. I wanted to stand and take 100 photos but tried not to get in the way :)

Love love this place. Delicious teas and hit chocolates, and I'm reliably informed the matches latte is very good too. Lovely staff and excellent cakes. The only drawback is how busy and popular it is, and how few seats there are. But very much worth a visit if you can secure a coveted seat!

Been here a few times and enjoyed it with male friends, but once a few months ago there was a drunk customer -that seem like a friend of the bartender- who was making inappropriate comments all the time about my female friends -specially when speaking in swissgerman with the bartender-. The bartender was also laughing at his jokes even doe he tried shyly to calm him down. He was one great piece of sadness so hope he is not around anymore this place at least in that attitude, some men can not behave like humans around pretty girls -and half their age…- looks like…

Usually all are very friendly with each other…. On vary rare occasions there are some strange visitors outside who are not willing to share a 2 person table aside at the bar.

Went there for a drink, and got served a drink. That's swiss quality 👍 I thought the Rio bar had something to do with Brazil, but it seems it's just related to the fact that rio means river, and that it's in front of the river... A lot of lore for the Rio bar cinematic universe. Prices are reasonable, and you can even pay by card, which is much more convenient than having to barter half a cow. Fully approved

Mega bread, the Zopf with ‚Kroesel‘ on it (see pic); it‘s THE bread for all that love a combination of sweet bread with an extremely crispy crust … one of new favorites … The staff was even forthcoming by making sure I didnt think the bread is wholewheat but sweet bread.

This bakery had it all: quiche, sandwiches, pastries, tarts, donuts, cakes, cookies, and salads. It was the perfect breakfast for our family and all our different tastes. The employees were very kind and helpful, and there's a shady outdoor seating area. Everything we ate was amazing, though the rhubarb custard pie was my favorite. Many thanks for this delicious food!

The food was decent, although it took quite a long time to be served. Unfortunately, the service left much to be desired — the waiter was not welcoming and came across as dismissive. Despite our group of 7 being present, we were charged an additional 50.- due to one guest being unable to attend last-minute because of work commitments. Disappointing - first time ever. Lastly, we were charged for 10 bottles of water for a group of 7, without having requested them. We won’t return.

A good example for everything that’s broken about restaurants in Zurich: the dishes may have regular Zurich prices on the menu (CHF 24 and up for lunch), but the portion sizes won’t even feed a child! My mezze plate had a ridiculous *two* pieces of flat bread! It fit on a side dish plate. Never again, sorry.

Amazing place with great vibe! So cool in modern city how is used the space under the rail bridge for shooed, service and restaurants with very cozy food corner! I have Sean this in other European cities and that’s such lovely enjoyable outdoor space turned to be indoor design spots! Bravo !!!

Visited on a Tuesday afternoon, and was quiet and empty to walk around and have a look at the different shops. Great selection of local specialty food items. Enjoyed walking around. Bought some cheese that’s local to a mountain in Zurich and then had a quick snack at one of the Japanese places. Everything was really good.

Very good drinks and great staff, hit the starters and mains but skip the dessert Had a very generous charcuterie board and moules et frites. Cocktails came super quick, White Negroni was a hit. Grüner Veltliner a bit too sweet for me Desserts can easily be skipped, tasted store bought

It is a cute place, but it is pricey and there aren't a lot of options to choose from. We asked the employee if we can have bread sliced with cheese, and it is not an option there. You can only buy plain bread. However, the pastry available is good. A coffee and some pastry are around 10 CHF.

We were there for brunch/breakfast combination. We wanted to finc a breakfast place but everywhere was full. So we ended up in this small, cozy, beautiful backerei. The staff was friendly and smiling. The food was delicious but not really special I would say. The coffee was a bit bitter but I guess it is kind of same in all other places in Zürich. I came from Germany and this was I realized in other places too in Zürich. However, if you want to do your breakfast in a nice, cozy athmosphere, it is quite good I would say. The prices are average for a backerei.

They had a wide variety of sandwiches and salads to chose from. I had a salami sandwich and my husband tried a salad. They were both really delicious and I would definitely recommend it!! The Service was also great!!

Good location, near the centre, and very comfortable setting to come in the morning for a coffee while reading the newspaper or a book or even to work with your laptop. Not very crowded either which is great. It is part of a bakery chain, although they also serve coffees, salads (as well as sandwiches) and even ice cream. They don't have the best of anything, to be honest, and there are many places that serve better coffee... but everything is pretty good and the place is simply quite nice and comfortable. Hence the score.

The place is cozy and the waitresses very friendly. There is a very wide range of choice between big stuffed sandwiches and sweets! The only thing that was not super was my cappuccino...not best quality.

I usually get good service here both as a normal customer and as a too good to go one. Today 15 min before the end of the toogoodtogo collection period the cleaning staff did not open the door. Did they know that those are the instructions? If there was nothing left to collect, the shop should cancel the toogoodtogo orders (hopefully a little bit earlier so that you avoid the trip), otherwise customers have to report the incident to the toogoodtogo support, lose time and risk losing money.

Nice little gem at the end of a quirky produce market in an old viaduct. Fab service, limited menu options as noted in other reviews but if you're after a light bite it's great. We had charcuterie at the bar and a few drinks.

I am sorry to give a bad rating but the following things were not good: 1) we booked for 10 poeple but in the end we were only 9 (one had to stay at work). We were asked to pay 50.- more. End the end we were forced to order two extra things that we did not want. 2) we had to wait more than 1h to get our pasta. When we asked to make sure the order was in. We were told that other tables are waiting too. 3) I like al dente pasta, but this one was way too al dente. But the sauce was good. 4) the room was super noisy. 5) still water is way too expensive.

It's an amazing place for apéro! We enjoyed a couple of glasses of wine at the counter (both very good) as well as some cold cuts and cheese. The service was great, and the food was delicious and freshly prepared! The bistrot decoration and marketplace atmosphere adds the final touch to make this a perfect spot. Highly recommended!

Great, casual atmosphere, open space and view to the kitchen. It's a shame the weather was not better, we would of liked to sit outside. Masks and space, we waited for a table. Family orientated restaurant as there were a lot of kids around, nice to see the family out for lunch. We ordered the marktsalat, fresh and great dressing. Followed by Kalbsgeschnetzeltes an Pilzrahmsauce mit Butterrösti, which was fantastic and the Steak et Frites (Rind) cooked perfectly. Highly recommended for the great tasting fresh food and the relaxed atmosphere.

Nice hotel, sporty and young design. Located next to a tram station. There is a billiard table, pool, table football and table tennis, all free of charge. The rooms have a mini-bar that is filled daily at no extra charge. Nice and young atmosphere with fun background music. Reasonable breakfast but overall you get value for the money you paid.

What a nice hotel with a great ambiance. The hotel is perfectly situated next to the university. There is a supermarket next door and the public transport is right in front of the hotel. The room was very nicely decorated with a great bathroom. There was a minibar with water, beer, peanuts and chocolate. The breakfast was delicious with a lot of fresh fruit. Very friendly staff.

I really enjoyed my staying in 25hours Hotel Zürich West. The room was vey functional and comfortable with everything necessary (including free drinks with refills in the mini fridge) for a short staying. Service was very pleasant and helpful. Location was perfect for the purpose of my trip and there is a tram stop almost outside of the hotel. Finally, the breakfast was varied enough (vegan options included) and of very good quality. I would totally recommend 25h Hotel if you are looking for a great value for your money.

I love Accor hotels. They are always clean, with excellent breakfast, and I’ve stayed in quite a few around the world. What keeps me coming back is the outstanding customer service. I met Marius at the front desk—very friendly and always with a big smile. The hotel design is very nice, with a modern and welcoming ambiance. Perfect location next to the tram to go to the station. Friendly staff. Good breakfast buffet. However I didn't like the style of the room. They're a bit noisy at night due to the proximity to the railway and weird ventilation system in the morning. The AC didn't seem to work.

25hours Zurich West is a hotel with personality. You just feel well in it. The personnel is always very helpful with a smile in their face. The restaurant serves one of the best hotel breakfasts I´ve ever had and the food is also delicious. The service is fast and efficient, again with smiles in their faces.

We waited an hour for the König brunch,The service was slowly,and it’s clear this place has a staffing issue — both we and everyone around us waited over an hour for food that should take ten minutes to prepare. And the quality was below average. Prices is a little bit too high! for what you get. Won’t be back.

We went there for brunch over the weekend. It can get pretty crowded, so it’s better to book in advance or come a bit earlier. I was a bit disappointed with classique brunch as the portion was quite small and you get a lot of bread. They didn’t bring me any jams and I only realized that I could have asked for it before leaving. I would recommend the cooked ham with gruyere or the tartine. Quite tasty

We came to this place on Jan 1,2024 and it was packed!! Therefore, the servers were not always attentive to your needs (and it was understandable, 2 people were serving over 20 tables, girls did as much as they could). Food was not the best either. A hollandaise on eggs Benedicts was just a mayo with egg yolks, it was served over ham on a very toasted bread which didn’t have any toppings on it. The salad on a flip side was very fresh and delicious! Overall it was ok experience for a holiday day, but it’s not worth all the money you’re paying for it…not sure if I want to come back…

We waited way too long for everything – the service was super slow and unorganized. What really bothered me was the attitude of the girl with glasses at the front desk. She was rude and spoke in a very unprofessional and disrespectful way. Definitely not coming back.

I ordered a breakfast on April 19, but two main pieces were missing. The person on the phone apologized, which I appreciate, but it’s been the third time that my order is lacking items, and I won’t be ordering again. Also, I the quality and variety of the food has unfortunately deteriorated in the past years. They used to give you jam and butter for the bread. I just don’t see how two slices of bread, some egg with bacon, and a few slices of charcuterie cost almost 50 CHF.

We celebrated mothers day in Tibits Bitro. The Sunday brunch is all you can eat, but the drinks are limited (2 small drinks per person). We paid 49 CHF per person, why are the drinks limited? Wide selection of food; fresh bread 🥖🥐🍞 Variety of all-vegetarian food 🍲 such as jalapeños, Rösti, vegetables, Hummus, cheese 🧀 , and pastry 🥧 I found the food bland, lacking spices.

Excellent vegetarian restaurant in Zürich. It is perfectly located near the Opera, so you can just stop by for lunch or dinner. It’s a system of take & pay, you pick a plate, you take whatever you want and then they will weigh it and you pay based on how much food you took. The hosts are speaking English, so it’s easy to order and get around. They are super friendly, someone is always around cleaning the tables, overall excellent service. Prices are quite nice, we paid around 33 CHF for 2 persons, but with only one drink. Photos with the food and our plates attached. I also like the interior design, very classic and also very clean. Overall a very nice experience while in Zürich, I highly recommend it A+.

I don't come here anymore. Today I made an exception and learned my lesson again. 20chf for one waffle and some Birchermüesli. And 7.40 for large coffee. It wasn't even tasty. Waffle was nice. The rest was average. Coffee was the worst I had this week. Tourist trap. Go to competition or buy something in the bakery nearby and sit by the lake.

I recently found myself wanting a hot chocolate and I happened to be around the corner from this Tidbits. I have been going to Hiltl and tidbits for two decades so I was excited to try out another of their locations. Alas, it was a disappointment. On the menu it stated very clearly that they use oat milk as a default in their hot chocolate. In German: "mit Haferdrink als Standard". Great! I went ahead and ordered a hot chocolate. Later, I noticed that it had a funky, weird taste. Unfortunately, I was already almost half through my glass when I noticed because I had been deep in a conversation. I thought that perhaps the chocolate itself had some dairy and I kicked myself for not thinking to check on that. So I went inside and asked the woman who had served me if the chocolate had dairy. She looked surprised and said "No, the chocolate doesn't, but I made your drink with cow's milk since you didn't specify what milk you wanted." Does this lady not understand what "as a default/standard" means? Why did she decide that she should give cow's milk to customers instead of what is listed on the menu? It seems that tidbits needs to spend a bit more time training their staff. I hadn't had dairy in years.... suffice it to say that my stomach wasn't happy that evening (and neither was my wallet, because it doesn't want to support animal cruelty).

The Collective bakery is one of our favourites, the pastry selection and the flavour innovation always surprises, a big fan of the vegan offers. Some of the best vegan cinnamon rolls I have ever had. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor sitting, but the location is a bit remote. 100% worth it though.

We got two Kombuchas, a salty escargot with pesto and pumpkin seeds, and an apple lemongrass croissant. It may be the best croissant I’ve had in my life. Perfect, buttery, flaky, light, crunchy. Yum. I am still thinking about it. Will be back. Only thing is they’re so busy that the tables had some crumbs because of high demand and quick turnaround of customers. Gets very busy but WORTH IT!

stopped by here recently for a quick break and honestly this place might have some of the best tasting coffee in the city! The pastry i had was a tiny bit dry for my taste, but they had a lot of interesting ones to chose from. Definitely worth stopping by if you have the chance ☕️🥐

Nice bakery tucked away in a commercial / industrial area: the pastries here are solid, especially their Pan Au Suisse and the coffee is not bad too. There’s also a decent outdoor sitting area though beware of leaving your pastries unattended as the birds attack them vehemently.

The Collective Bakery offers a delightful experience, largely due to its kind and helpful staff. They are always ready to answer questions or provide excellent suggestions, making every visit a pleasant one. The Bakery provides both indoor and outdoor seating, giving guests the flexibility to choose their preferred environment. Tips for Visitors: * Outdoor Seating: The outdoor seating area is particularly lovely on a sunny day and comes highly recommended. * Reservations: The cafe can get quite busy, especially for popular items like the "3-kings-cake." It's a good idea to consider making reservations for specific items in advance to avoid disappointment.

This is one of those very rare Cafés where you can get both outstanding pastries and amazing coffee - an absolute gem! The espresso based drinks usually fall more in the classical side. I personally really recommend their amazing hand brews that are always on point with regularly varying beans from the amazing Rose coffee roasters. Come early on the weekends to dodge the biggest crowds! The outstanding quality has its price and it's not a cheap eat.

We stayed here for 1 night before venturing on to other areas of the country. The location is unbeatable while still offering some tranquility from the liveliness of the area around, the rooms were clean and cozy (small but that’s Zurich), the breakfast had ample and delicious offerings, and the staff were very welcoming and accommodated us very well - especially with the baggage storage before checkin and after checkout!

Wow! What a wonderful hotel room for a single occupant. No carpet it’s a wooden floor. It’s a totally functional room with a phone, small desk, overhead light, a comfortable chair and table. There are ample outlets, a floor lamp and full length mirror the back of the hall door. Small closet with hangers for the outerwear. Breakfast is downstairs in the morning. Coffee, juice, scrambled eggs but I would prefer some hot breakfast meat and potatoes. Maybe next time I just have to make a second breakfast stop at a place like Coop City.

We had a wonderful three-day stay at the Sorell Hotel Rütli in Zurich. It’s an excellent hotel — spotlessly clean and perfect for families. The room was just right for two adults and two children: very comfortable and well laid out. The breakfast buffet was delicious and varied, and a special mention goes to the lady who took care of the service — always smiling, kind, and extremely helpful. She truly made our stay even more enjoyable. The location is simply perfect: tram 10 comes directly from the airport and drops you off just a minute from the hotel. It’s also only a two-minute walk from the main train station (HB), and close to all the must-see attractions in Zurich. Honestly, it’s an excellent choice and I highly recommend it without hesitation. ❤️

I booked this room two months ago for 401 CHF. I was looking for something near the station, and since the price was similar to a 4-star hotel, I assumed from the photos that the facilities would be decent. However, after arriving and seeing the room, I was disappointed and requested an upgrade to a twin room, paying an additional 30 CHF. In total, I paid 431 CHF. On the same day, I saw that the official website was offering a larger room with a bathtub suitable for up to 4people at a much lower price than what I had paid. I mentioned this at the front desk, but the staff just said it was because of a “dynamic pricing system” where prices drop on low-booking days, and another staff member standing nearby smirked. Having stayed at two 5-star hotels and one 4-star hotel earlier on this trip, I had certain expectations for service. I thought they might at least offer some gesture of goodwill, but I quickly realized that wasn’t going to happen. As for the room itself, it would be an overstatement to even call this a 3-star property: • All power outlets were at floor level, so I had to crawl under the table every time I wanted to plug or unplug something by the bed. • One outlet had exposed wires sticking out. • The handwash dispenser made the liquid run down the side of the bottle, so I had to smear it on my hands as if wiping the bottle itself. • The main lamp was broken and didn’t work at all. When I mentioned these issues at check-out, the only response was, “Thanks for letting us know.” Not once did anyone say “We’re sorry” or “We regret the inconvenience.” A hotel doesn’t need luxury materials to create a good atmosphere or comfort—this was proven by the 4-star hotel I stayed at just before this one, which felt like a small 5-star property. The location wasn’t great either. It was close to the station, but noise from nearby pubs kept me up at night, light leaked through curtains smaller than the window frame, and sound carried through the hallways so much that earplugs were essential. The only positive point was the breakfast, which was decent. After this experience, I concluded that in Zurich, it’s worth staying at a 4-star or above even if it’s a bit further from the station—Zurich is compact and walkable enough that location isn’t a big issue. And one thing is clear: I will never prepay for a 3- or 4-star hotel unless it’s peak season.

Room size is good for 2 at a very good location which is about 6~8 mins walk from ZRH Train Station. Bedlinen and towels are clean, services at the reception are very good, the same goes to the F&B staff at breakfast table.

Expected better for the price. This is the most expensive hotel of our two week vacation. But not the best. The room is small and some details are broken. Take the headboard on the bed, for example. There’s a lip of metal on the top which makes it super uncomfortable to sit up in bed against it.

So I entered my room to a large clanging noise which turned out to be the aircon unit, which was only able to recycle warm air. I had to turn it right down to manage the noise. I spoke to receptionist who knew about it and just said open my window instead. It was a hot night and I wasn’t happy. It’s a very old aircon system in need of replacement. There is even a notice in the room about it so it’s a known issue. The bed sheet wasn’t linen and quite rough so just slept on top of the duvet. Other than that generally clean and staff were okay. Breakfast lacked sausage or bacon etc… For the price I expected more and certainly wouldn’t recommend staying on warm or hot nights. I just can’t recommend it unless everywhere else is unavailable. I certainly won’t be going back. My room number 205

Friendly staff and good food. We stopped by for a late morning brunch and had s very pleasant meal. Staff were very welcoming and have recommendations for things we could do in Zurich for the day.

If you really want some traditional swiss food in a city with so much restaurants, this is the place for you. It really has everything you need to have a taste of swiss cuisine. Price isn‘t even too bad either. I really recommend!

Fish and chips. More like overcooked batter with very overcooked fish which was very thin in side. Salad was good.

We enjoyed absolutely everything about this place. We shared fish and quiche and loved them both. The salads that came with each were phenomenal! Great coffee, friendly service, and a comfortable, cosy place to sit and just be. We came for brunch one morning early in our trip and enjoyed it so much we came back for dinner later in the week (and it's rare for us to repeat a visit when we have limited time). Recommended.

We didn't realise it was plant based food when we went in but it actually turned out better than expected. We were on our first night in Zurich, had our dinner and wanted a small treat before heading back to the hotel. Popped in and ordered a few cakes. I had the jam donut and it was tasty. The kids had cookies and enjoyed them as well. Service was great and is definitely recommend a visit.

my first visit wasn’t great. the staff member at the time didn’t seem very helpful or welcoming, so i didn’t return for a while. today, i decided to give it another try and i’m glad i did. the young woman working was friendly, attentive, and really helpful. we tried their ‚crookie‘ for the first time, and it was so delicious we ended up getting a second one right after. i’d heard about it, and that’s what brought me back. definitely a much more positive experience this time.

We were visiting Switzerland for a week and were excited to try this bakery because it’s fully vegan, something that’s hard to find where we live in the U.S. Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing. The staff member present was unwelcoming, dismissive, and showed clear attitude. Throughout our brief interaction, we felt rushed, and disrespected. I see reviews mentioning great customer service, perhaps those were with other staff, but the person we interacted with on that day was far from polite. I would not recommend this place, especially if you expect basic courtesy and fair treatment. A good product cannot make up for poor customer service.

This vegan bakery it’s amazing. I just ate the crookie and it was still warm, so good. Could barely decide what to eat: the bakery is little but there are plenty of options. Thank you for the great experience! The staff is fantastic :)

The food is amazing! Perfect for a quick snack and cappuccino without having to double check if it’s vegan because everything is 100% plant based. The crookies and gipfeli in general are great, the sandwiches too, and the cappuccino is also good. The only thing not worth it is probably the matcha latte, a bit too bitter. A part from that, totally recommend checking what they have!

One of the best varieties of options I’ve ever seen in a vegan bakery! The “like pastrami” sandwich is incredible, and both the croissant with cookie and the cinnamon roll are just amazing! You should definitely give it a try. I wish I had a place like this in Hamburg, haha. The bakery is a bit hidden and can be hard to find, but it’s totally worth it! It’s located two levels below the surface, right in front of the signs for platforms 31/32. From the main floor, go down to the lockers level, then go down one more floor — you’ll find it at the end of the corridor.

We ordered following: • Citrus Cinnamon Roll • Almond Bun • Chocolate cake • Tusca They have a rotating menu, so the selection we had may be different from yours. Overall, I think that the cinnamon rolls/buns are a bit plain. I expected the citrus cinnamon roll to be more fragrant however, only the light wipped cream on top was slightly citrusy, the rest of the roll was rather plain. The Almond bun was good. Fragrant, light, delicate and moist. Same goes for the chocolate cake and tuska which were both moist, fragrant and not too sweet. Staff unfortunately weren't friendly nore smiling and had a long face. The shop wasn't too busy, so it's not like they were in a rush. A minimum of greeting and politeness would be appreciated. Overall, I recommend to try the pastery there, however would avoid anything related to the cinnamon rolls/buns.

Delicious coffee(chai lover) and buns (especially the cinnamon ones). I didn’t love the cookie nor the pistachio bun (it was a kind of whipped cream with not so much pistachio flavour). I will go back to try all their beverages and pastries because they looked delicious! Also, the girl who served us was really kind and made a a tailor-made coffee for me since I wanted less sugary stuff. They also sell some mugs and blends.

Beautiful shop, nicely decorated. The chocolate tastes delicious, you’d be surprised that it’s vegan. The lady working there is very knowledgeable and passionate on the products, which gives off a nice impression to customers.

I live in the UK, but I made it a point of coming here on my trip after a recommendation and it did not disappoint. The most knowledgeable and helpful team members and super tasty products; as a pastry chef, im jealous I don't live there so I can apply for a job 😅 Went home with lots of presents and my 72 year old mother insisted on going back to buy herself a few bags of coffee after seeing mine, call me an influencer 😀 5 ⭐ highly recommend!

The best things about this hotel is its location and price. There is no table or chair in the room-you should sit on the bed and throw your stuff on the floor... There is no brush in the toilet😂. The walls are so thin that I could talk to my neighbor if I wanted to. Not a flophouse, but a hotel for single people. Welcome😂

The experience was terrible. There was no information about construction work going on right in front of the hotel that ruined every night's sleep and every morning too. Apparently every room cleaning is chargeable for EUR 25, which makes no sense because that means that you're living in a dirty room for however many days you're there and the rooms do get dirty because there's construction right in front of the hotel, like by the door. Could not understand why kettles were prohibited in the hotel rooms, seems very unreasonable since the hotel doesn't have a kitchen or any utensils in the room. The faucet and showers were inconsistent with water temperatures and not working well enough. Overall a very disappointing experience. Would rather stay in a hostel than a "hotel" like this.

Overall, excellent location and clean room, but very expensive for accommodation only without any other services. There are several easyhotels in Zurich, I first arrived at the central hotel in a 15-minute walk from Zurich HB train station and then a very nice woman working at the hotel explained to me that I had arrived at the wrong hotel (and she also checked that my reservation existed at the hotel I needed to go to) so I walked another 30 minutes to the right hotel. Close to a train station. The self check-in is very efficient. Quiet environment. The room is very clean and there are towels and sheets, but it is arranged in a strange way and there is no room to move in the bathroom-toilet room; The shower also leaks and it is difficult to manage like that.

Rooms have no AC so prepare to have a nightmare of a sleep on hot days. Rooms are clean. Toilets are either smaller than in an airplane or of a normal size but open at the top so all steam from the shower comes into the bedroom. Location is very convenient near the river and within walking distance of the city center

I’m giving this 2 stars instead of zero because I will say it was the most reasonably priced we could find, and simple yet safe and sufficient accommodations in general, only a mile or so from all the action. However, I’d give it zero stars when it comes to the only thing you really are in your room for on a vacation like Zurich: sleep. I’ve been to almost 40 countries and slept in hundreds of hotels, and this was by far the worst sleep I’ve had in any. The bed is rock hard, leaving your whole body in pain no matter what position you turn. Felt like sleeping on boards though boards sounded more desirable at some points, as the sides of the mattress were sloping down making the already teeny bed smaller. And you can hear EVERY footstep anyone makes in the entire hotel— halls, floors, and especially staircase, which sounded like a herd of elephants until probably 3am and then again by 5am. Would not recommend.

I wanted to leave a review for the people considering to book this cheap hotel. Honestly, the price and quality of the hotel really matches. If you don’t expect much, you will be surprised. Yes, the rooms are small and there is not much privacy in terms of bathroom and shower space. However, everything was super clean, the self-checkin system works smoothly, there are free lockers to store your luggage if you arrive earlier or want to leave later, and more importantly: the location is absolutely the best!!! Surrounded by nice restaurants and bars and close by the river which is so nice to go for a morning swim or chill there on a hot day! All the other main spots in Zurich are within walking distance. In our opinion this is a gem :)

Lovely as any other Babu’s branch but this is pure bakery. There are only some seatings outside and no brunch options. However minor incidents is just that I bought fruit bread (the one with dates & other dry fruits) once upon a day and the bread is extremely hard to the point it’s impossible to eat. Not sure if the bread is old or what is the problem, I had to throw it away. Other than that, the staffs are super nice.

Excellent service, great coffee and delicious cheesecake! Just went to visit this place for the second time this month and I feel like it just keeps getting better. One of my favourite coffee shops in Wiedikon.

So nice to have a local babu’s takeaway with a small seating area - away from the normal big queues and having to reserve! Pop in, grab, sit and simply go! Lovely choice of fresh sandwiches, cakes and coffee! I loved the easy vibe, Sunday hip hop playing in the background! Will be back next week 🙌🏽

Went here for a quick coffee. The place just recently opened (Feb 2024) and the layout of the place is pretty cool! Tasty-looking pastries for take-away and dine-in! I just got a cortado with oat milk (my usual) and it was very tasty. More on the smoother silky-tasting side compared to other earthy-chocolate tasting coffee beans. The coffee shop is located on three “half-floors” so it’s larger than what you see when you enter. There’s even a sofa area on the top floor which creates a cozy corner. Will definitely come back again soon!

Love this bakery. One of my favorite in the city. Their apple pie tastes like the one my grandma used to make. If only they had coffee in real cups Update: They introduced real coffee cups and therefore added one more star since their pastries are one of the best in Zurich. The portion size of scrambled eggs was quite small, there was no side on plate. The price is high for this. Breads, avocados bagel are really good. Service is average. It’s not a good idea to order by self waiting on queue even you have already sit.

Absolutely unique and amazing vegan deli with an impressive vegan cheese and meat selection as well as so many other different products you rarely find somewhere else. On top of that they offer a very nice selection of lunch and snack options and the staff is just adorable. would highly recommend a visit!

Wonderful staff, really good coffee, very tasty food and pastries. We stopped here two days in a row and stayed a few hours while it rained, drinking coffee and wine or having sweet snacks and lunch. We wish we had a place like this back home. Great atmosphere, very clean and cozy.

I was there around 10 am, I expected to have fresh gipfeli, it was ok.

A very nice experience in both our visits. I would like to come here again soon. The staff is very polite and kind. The prices are average, very fair for what they have to offer. And the ambience is nice, relaxed and great for an early morning. The foamed milk on our coffees was the best we had ever had. It was so thick; you can’t drink it normally. But have to eat it with a spoon or mix it in to the coffee. It was delicious. The coffee itself was also good. A bit mild. We tried the cinnamon roll, the croissant and the fried eggs, as well as some bread. The cinnamon roll was amazing, very tasty and moist in the middle, but just nicely crispy on the outside. I am not a cinnamon fan, but this was delicious and I ordered it the next time as well. It’s really good. The croissant is a bit average. Flavour and flakiness could be better. The fried eggs come without any bread in the portion, you do need to buy it separately. But they were well prepared and the bread we had with the eggs was nice fresh and fluffy. Delicious. Would eat this here again.

What an exceptional gem! For guests of the Renaissance, this is but a few steps to the right of your front door. For others, the coffee, pastry, fresh eggs, and friendly staff are worth any extra effort that might be required.

Unfortunately, this sourdough bread was quite disappointing. Probably not the best sourdough bread. It’s packed with flour and completely lacks the light, airy texture good sourdough should have — instead, it’s dense and heavy like a rock. The taste didn’t make up for it either. I really didn’t enjoy it and wouldn’t buy it again.

Perfect for a quick coffee and croissant. The cashier was patient& swift, even though an elderly customer was rather unfriendly& pushy. There is a small corner inside to sit down& most wonderful smell of fresh bread. Outside are the best spots to listen to the birds& watch the bussy people rush by.

This was where we got breakfast. This place is excellent. Inside, there was a huge selection of food, such as brioche, brioche Au chocolate, cheese cake, croissant and more! It looked very tasty. The staff were quick and prompt to respond our order. Outside, we were sat at a small table, with a view of the street. The food tasted brilliant, tasty and easy to eat. We would definitely go again!!!

High quality bakery with a great selection of products. Pasties made with organic flour and many intriguing vegetarian options, not easily found in other stores. Beetroot sandwich and smoke wood carrot sandwich were delicious. Interiors very warm and staff extremely helpful and friendly.

I usually like everything i purchase from brioche bread to sandwiches, sweet pastries etc, and i am quite a regular customer as i am not a fan of supermarket baked goods, but the sourdough bread i got last week was a huge disappointment. Flat, and super dense, hope they manage to sort it out as surely someone in the kitchen must have noticed this isn’t right..

Nice Bakery with bar where you can also have coffee and other beverages and eat on site. Kind staff, good choice of pastries. Has tables for at least 30 people if not more. Free parking in front of the entrance. Sells also themed pastries, for example for Christmas as it can be seen in one of my pictures.

Their coffee pairs well with the pastries. Whether you like strong coffee or something creamier, they have options. The staff is friendly and makes you feel welcome. They seem to enjoy what they do. The bakery has a cozy atmosphere, making it a nice place to hang out with friends or relax by yourself. Overall, Pfyl Bakery in Zurich is a great spot for pastry lovers. With tasty pastries, good coffee, and friendly staff, it's worth a visit. I plan to go back for more pastries in the future.

My friends and I come here often and we love it very much, what a beautiful art she made for us on our cappuccino. This bakery has the best egg sandwich! She also taught us how to speak German. They all are very very friendly and kind. We recommend to come here to get your breakfast and coffee. 👍👍

I was there today morning to have breakfast with my girlfriend and my brother and the cashier was really really rude in taking my order, which were 3 “Macchiatos”. When i realized that they made a Latte and not an Espresso, i simply said: “oh i thought you will make an Espresso”. She said in a really rude and disrespectful way: “Oh we are in Switzerland here, Macchiato is Latte!!!”. What the hell is that supposed to mean???? She kept looking bad to us the whole time... I am really disappointed about the experience i had, and no one came to apologize, and by the way also the lady who was behind me she was so shocked to realize what just happened..

The place is a bit hidden (you don't really see it from the main streets), but that might be a plus: It is not overcrowded, the music is not too loud, and they have great wifi - this is a nice place for being productive on your computer or just for chatting away with someone.

I recently discovered this bakery and cafe, and it's was worth a try. The local atmosphere here is charming, and the friendly staff adds to the welcoming vibe. The serves is fast and the offer delicious breakfast with great coffee. The only downside is it can get busy during rush hours, but it's worth a visit if you are around.

Eggs dish tastes too salty. Agree with other reviewers that coffee doesn't taste good (maybe change the beans?). Stuff is always polite and friendly, mostly greeting you with a smile. I just moved into the area a couple months ago and heard about this place from some friends. I absolutely love this place! The people working here are so kind and helpful. The baked goods here are delicious - the brunch here is worth it, especially with the surrounded atmosphere. My favorite treats so far here are - Zitronencake, Tuna Sandwich, schoggigipfeli, and the vegan nussgipfeli.

Always liked this place, but for the first time after pandemie the caffe latte was a great disappointment: much more water than milk and just a hint of coffee, very sad indeed

I took only one pastry take-away, so I am not commenting on the drinks. The pastry (sable crust with red currant filling) was good. It is one of the few places around that can make a truly good and flaky crust, also the he filling was very tart and balanced. Overall it looks like a good place and I will stop again. However, the offer was looking a little standard and without enough novelty/seasonality to have a truly special feel.

The cappuccino has a nice foam and taste. I give it a 6 out of 10. As for the espresso, I give it a 4 out of 10. Their desserts are delicious, but their opinions are high.

Only 3 stars because I've tried only macaroons! Maybe other pastries are much better. Shop looks nice, staff is really good and professional, also pastries look very good. Unfortunately my main goal of visiting, macaroons, are pretty average with not so average pricing. Some flavors are good, but mostly disappointing, also you can sometimes taste some of them are artificial. Although cookies are very well made and look good, so they definitely know how to make them, just taste average and some flavor combinations are weird and not tasty.

Very bad experience in this bakery. I went there to buy a small bite (little sandwich) and one of the waitress or maybe the owner skipped me from the queue and asked the person behind me instead of me being first in line. On top of that she did a very bad scene in front of other clients due that I only had card to pay and not cash (we are in 2022 woman update yourself). In short, I was disrespected as a client, and screamed at …. I never coming back to that bakery. Fortunately for me there is another bakery to buy goodies just down the route.

It is a pastry shop and a snug little cafe in one place. They sell a wide variety of high-quality chocolate cakes and cookies. They also have tasty sandwiches. Do not miss the one with tuna! In the shop, you can choose what you are hungry for, then take a seat in the cafe and enjoy your meal with a good cup of coffee.

We went to the cafe for lunch, they didn’t attend to us for close to 10 minutes! Then started taking orders from other tables that came long after us. When we politely mentioned that we have been here for a long time, she came up with reasons why she has all the right to do so, instead of a simple apology! Then when we finally got the chance to order, they didn’t have some of the items on their menu, so we left!!! So overall, unprofessional attendance to customers and quite disappointing!

Very rude to underaged customers, made us feel very disturbed . Definitely don’t recommend to anyone who’s looking for a good time .😔😡

I have been here multiple times for breakfast, they have a wide variety of cold sandwiches, pastries, breads, crossaints and other bakery items. Over sometime, I had tried multiple sandwiches, breads, crossaints, pastries, all were really good and filling too.

I only go to this bakery if I have to. For my taste the bread is ok but certainly NOT worth the outrageous prices charged. I am not a big fan of sandwiches in general - not the Swiss forte - with limp bits of lettuce and the obligatory gherkin so paying CHF 7 and upwards for something I could knock up for 1/2 irks me. They also never change their selection: boring. But what annoys me the most: whoever designed this place should be fired. The place with the most customers, so the bakery itself, is tiny and there is a lot of subtle ellbowing to get served in proper sequence and when you turn round, the next customer is on top of you. Not during the pandemic, that system worked well and is actually what that tiny space needs. When I was last there, they seemed to be baffled at my request for either lactose free or oat milk. How can this be customer centric? And how can people rave about this place?

It's our local bakery and we love it. They have a good selection of bread and cakes, sandwiches, good coffee and they are open on Sunday.

A nice little place, quite busy, good for a quick coffe and some cake, the bread is always nice and fresh, the service fast and professional.

I visited on a late Sunday morning. The bakery was quite busy, but luckily there were 3 servers so the wait time wasn't long. There was a great choice of breads, sandwiches and sweets, but I was disappointed to find only a small section of savory pastries, with maybe only 6 or so to choose from. I tried a pastry filled with chicken and vegetables, which cost 5.95CHF, and it was quite nice, the filling was nicely seasoned and the consistency was good, but the outside, the pastry part felt a bit like it was stale. It wasn't as flaky and brittle as these kinds of pastries usually are. However, that might be because I took the pastry home before eating and it became stale during that time.

Culinary delight.. Sarcasm off. I'm curious when swiss bakeries will finally become a tiny bit more innovative and get past the bland, tasteless butter, bread and cheese recipe. Add some chili, mustard..

I was a Wüst customer for five years. Most of their breads are good, some sandwiches used to be great and the pizza used to be amazing. Unfortunately the sandwich choice and quality is lower these days. But the worst is the terrible choice of unfriendly, unprofessional employees

I have always been coming to aMA for desserts and even sometimes for packing away lunch and had never had a problem except this day that I bought 2 pastries. The service was trying to get me to pay super fast even though I was still looking at other things that I wanted to get. I decided to just pay and go instead since they seemed like they really wanted me to hurry up. They charged me for 3 pastries and I was wondering why because I only asked for 2. I thought if it was 3 then it’s fine as well but as I got home I only got 2 but I got charged for one more. This never happened before and I hope that service improves their attitude next time when it comes to customer service. I came there wanting to buy more but they didn’t give me time to even browse and wanted me to decide on the spot. It was a bad experience but I won’t hold it against the shop but service needs more training to be more kind and patient.

Very nice Italian patisserie, with amazing cakes. You can order small mino cakes for take away. It is on weight and very delicious. Just one complain is that sometimes the cakes are frozen and you must wait until they warm up a bit. Besides cakes you can get nice ice cream and other small Italian pizzas.

Delicious birthday cake! For the second year in a row we ordered our son's birthday cake at Ama and were not disappointed! Super fresh and beautiful - impressed all of our guests! The new Pastry Chef Enio was very friendly and accommodated all our requests. We collected it on Sunday morning just before the bday party, which was really convenient. Pricey, but can highly recommend :)

Such a modern Italian cafe in Zurich. Very clean and beautifully decorated store. Large selection of italian pastries. The sfogliatella was very tasty. Not too sweet. The pink cake was one of my favorites. Soo soft and delicious inside. The prices are typically Zurich price.

Walked to this place from the hotel H, first look is modern and big, has nice array of pastries and cakes. We had the pistachio and vanilla cream croissant with flat white and latte for breakfast, food is good! Servers are friendly although speaking English is not their strength, but effort is 4 stars! Good that this place opens early too!
