Brasserie

Event venue
Auberge Brasserie is a popular and inviting restaurant in Southport, offering a mix of French and English cuisine. The brasserie serves up modern classics and set menus, while also hosting lively events such as tribute acts and DJs. It's considered a longstanding local favorite, known for its inventive dishes. While some visitors found the atmosphere lacking during their lunch visit, they appreciated the friendly service from the staff.
A really lovely restaurant just off Lord Street. First time here and the food was excellent, with a good wine list. ‘Set Menu’ prices are very reasonable, although we did pay for ‘supplements’. Really friendly and efficient service without being pretentious. A lovely atmosphere; stylish decor, good music, and a nice vibe on a Saturday evening. Will definitely return when visiting Southport.

Lovely lunch on a quite ish side street! Cannot fault it in anyway -first class service and food ! Good offers on a set menu for lunch -but not expensive on the normal menu either ! Didnt get hit with silly drink prices either -infact I'd say they were very reasonable ! Will be back again -the salt and pepper squid and the mussels frites were outstanding !
Neil — Google review
Ate here at the weekend and we loved it. Extremely good value set menu and everything cooked to perfection, decent wine and lovely cocktails. If this was in our local town we'd be paying the same for a single main course as it cost us for 3 here and the cocktails twice as much. Next time we're in Southport we will return, you're lucky to have this in your town.

Absolutely delicious food and lovely restaurant! Heard so many recommendations and decided to try it myself. We were 8 people and everyone of us enjoyed our meals from starters to desserts. Also very good price. Definitely coming back!
Asta N — Google review
French restaurant just off Lord Street. Good quality food, well presented and a good selection of wines. The service is excellent as the staff is very accommodating. The place is decorated in good style and is comfortable but quite noisy. The restaurant is large with high ceiling and an open first floor mezzanine type so the voices and noises seem to echo a bit. But all in all a very nice restaurant.

We come here every Sunday The food is fresh, the seasoning is spot on Delicious, we've bought family and friends vegetarian/pescaterian amongst them Bang on, can't say any better Our absolute favourite 😍

We had an amazing lunch here which I could not fault in anyway. Staff were friendly and polite and the food was just fantastic, with so many delicious options, we hope to return very soon.

Went for a birthday and had a lovely meal! The service was wonderful, all needs were met and nothing was too much for them. Not too busy with a lovely atmosphere. Had the 8oz sirloin steak with a pork and stilton sauce, which I can't stop thinking about! Will gladly be visiting again, especially with the reasonable prices

Fantastic evening meal tonight, delicious food and attentive service. Haven't been for a long while, as good as I remembered, we definitely need to go again. Highly recommended.

We came here over the weekend; it was a lovely sunny evening, so we sat outside overlooking the marina and watched the sunset. There are heaters available outside, but we weren’t any on our table and the waiter provided us with blankets instead which came in handy once the Sun started to set. It’s a beautiful little restaurant, in a lovely spot and this is what attracted us. The staff were lovely and attentive too. The food however, we found to be quite overpriced and quite bland. I think the prices somewhat reflect the setting, but we didn’t enjoy the food and sadly would not return.
Sarah H — Google review
Trattoria 51 is a great place to have lunch. We ordered pizza and salad and we were not disappointed. The pizza was delicious and the salad was fresh. The service was excellent and the staff were friendly. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and is very clean. We would definitely recommend Trattoria 51 to anyone looking for a great place to eat. We particularly liked that they brought the kid’s food first.

Very friendly staff that are attentive without being intrusive. Nice building and decor with delicious food that tasted really fresh. The pasta we had was a very generous portion too 😊

Such a shame this used to be our go to place in Southport but it has sadly declined . £90 bill for below average food . All tasted frozen steaks just very average bland tasteless prawns no sorry you have let the ball drop and we won’t be back service was ok but food very very average . Been going 7 years and it used to be great now sadly in decline Added to review as realised I gave 2 stars should be none . AWFUL another one that’s gone downhill from pre covid Revisiting my reviews and looked again at the pictures WHY ! I didn’t refuse to pay god knows just look at the water under the steak ! 4 prawns and dreadful veg and frozen chips . Have to say eat out a lot this was the biggest disappointment of the year .

Food lovely. Service leaves much to be desired. Staff look like it's all too much of an effort.

a great evening, good upbeat atmosphere.staff were attentive and professional under Social distancing rules. sterlised and bagged cutlery to anti bac chairs and tables. did not overfill, left some tables vacant even though many ad hoc punters were turned away.. food was as always amazing. fresh , spices balanced, my seafood pizza was perfect, and the seafood taggliatelle was excellent . the best italian restaurant in southport . cant wait to go back

If you're looking for a relaxing, intimate setting to enjoy Mediterranean cuisine in a stylish bar or restaurant, then Bistro Bar Med is the perfect place for you. With paintings on the wall depicting scenes from around the Mediterranean region, as well as belly dancing evenings offered occasionally, this establishment exudes an international feel that will leave you feeling at home. Additionally, their extensive wine and beer selection means that there's something for everyone.
Lovely place, spotlessly clean, great food and service. Water was ready for us at the table then the server recommended we order starters. No rush for a further order. We ordered houmous, feta, aubergine which were all delicious with bread and complimentary salad. We then ordered calamari, prawns, chicken & chorizo skewers and filo feta parcels. Again all delicious 😋. The chef brought food over and then persuaded us to finish with baklava. Scrumptious. Decent price, would definitely revisit. Thank you

Absolutely amazing! I can't express enough how good the food, service and atmosphere was. Fantastic small restaurant perfect for quality time with the partner. Definitely recommend!! X

We turned up on the fly on a Saturday night of a bank holiday - a restaurateur’s nightmare really but you know they were wonderful. Broke a table apart to make one for us and the service was spectacular- a full house bar a few seats. The food was truly special - served really well, super tasty and honestly such good value I don’t know how they stay open! But seriously if you are in Southport or live here then please go here it’s truly wonderful, nice and cosy, lovely service and great value!
Daniel M — Google review
A disappointing experience. We arrived full of expectations having read positive reviews but left feeling sad that what we had didn't live up to what others had reported. The hummus shared plate was nice with warm bread and a tasty salad. We enjoyed that. We then ordered squid, prawns, and spicy potatoes. The prawns were nice, and the potatoes good. But the squid was inedible. The coating was soft and spongy, a bit like the texture of an donut. The squid itself was strange. It was also spongy, not the usual texture. We both tried to scrape off the coating and eat a piece but we ended up leaving the rest. The waiter, a really nice bloke who was extremely friendly and welcoming, saw that we had hardly touched the squid and asked why and I explained. I didn't ask for a refund, and wasn't offered one. I paid the bill, left a 12% tip because the rest of the food was okay and the guy was pleasant. Perhaps it was because we arrived late and the place was about to close. We were the only customers in the restaurant when we arrived, during our meal, and when we left.

5* service and food at a hidden gem in Southport that we couldn't believe we hadn't been to before. A taste of the Mediterranean on the Irish sea. Will be heading back and recommending to all friends and family going forward. Gino's a legend!
Charlie I — Google review
My girlfriend found this place on the internet so we tried it out while we were in Southport , the place was quiet due to the fact the Champions league final was on and everyone was in the bars! As soon as we walked in we were made to feel as home by the gaffer, he couldn't do enough for us! The food was good and so was the Turkish beer, we chose different dishes from the Greek, Turkish and Spanish tapas menu and left full to the brim. The bill was a reasonable price too. We were very impressed by the interior of this restaurant and by the lovely painted Murals on the wall of different parts of the med. We had a lovely time and would recommend a visit here!
R E — Google review
What a fantastic little place this is . We'd no sooner sat down when there were two glasses of iced water in the table for us . A really varied selection of Greek/Turkish and Spanish tapas , which you can mix to get the selection you want . The food was really lovely and the owners friendly banter made you feel like you'd known him for years.. Top food , top drinks , top service , and the bill was very reasonable. We were only in Southport for one night , and so glad we chose bistro bar med , and we'll definitely be booking in there again when over that way.
Conway B — Google review
Great friendly and knowledgeable Owner / Host, good food, decent wine, nice homemade desserts and all that at a reasonable price. The place serves tapas portions of turkish and Spanish dishes. The food is freshly made and tastes good. We loved the mashed auberginr, goats cheese fried balls with caramelised red onions, meatballs, chorizo, and mince stuffed peppers. We also had baklava for dessers which were served warm and tasted really fresh. We ended our meal with turkish coffee. The owner Gino was very attentive and also gave special attention to our 8 yr old daughter to make her feel very welcome and important.

Volare is an Italian restaurant located in Southport, offering a variety of classic Italian dishes made with imported and local ingredients. The restaurant provides a relaxed atmosphere and is owned by Onofrio and Cinzia, who bring extensive experience in catering from Sicily. Volare serves authentic, homemade dishes on Lord Street and has recently opened Deli Volare next door for takeaway options. Customers have praised the friendly staff, delicious food with plenty of vegetarian choices, wheelchair accessibility, and cleanliness of the facilities.
Table of 12 for a birthday. Very busy when we arrived, this however did not affect the service. Very good service from all waitresses, lots of staff working and very easy to get a servers attention which I think is important. Food very good, all of our group of 12 were very complimentary of the food. Restaurant allowed us to bring our own birthday cake for happy birthday. And even sliced this up and served this to us, which was much appreciated. Couldn’t find any fault, fantastic night. Thank you to all the team
James C — Google review
The food was delicious, so it gives 4 stars. The service was nice and helpful but not too much space, very tight. We waited for food for over an hour and a half and after two hours the next people waited for our table so we just had to go out to our table so we were told, there was no place inside so that I could wear a suit for my 6-month-old child I had to dress a child outside. This place is certainly not child-friendly.
Magix G — Google review
Went for a meal here, the starter was very nice but the main was quite bland. My partner said her meal was very nice so maybe it was just mine. The staff are all very polite and you have the option to sit outside and eat which we did as it was very hot. I would probably give it another try but choose a different main next time

We have came to Southport today with wife and baby took a walk and decided to eat somewhere as it turned out we found restaurant Volare !!! We were stunned as 2 years ago we have meet in Volare in Rome!!! When arrived we were welcomed by owner at the doors decorated and smell of food from kitchen together with music has made us feel like stepping back in time. After spending some time sharing experience with owner we had ordered food menu was great authentic Italian food made by family from generations!!! Bruschetta Romana simple but best !!! So tasty and fresh 🤤 The seasonal menu wild mushrooms risotto served in pumpkin was best I tried and that comes from 12 years experience chef !!! We also tried Amatriciana and had some house wine that together completed the day !!! We felt like back in Italy!!! Definitely will be visiting often now what a gem 💎!!! Thank you for today and keep going 👏👏👏 Well done 👏👏👏 See you soon 😁 Marcin, Marina and Liliana 🙏👏

Recommended to us by a local. Booking is advised but we were very fortunate a table became available as we debated where to go whilst we waited for our time slot as we hadn't booked. The staff are welcoming & efficient. The food was stunning , we all thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Great variety of choices for everyone and prices are reasonable.
Donna W — Google review
Amazing food. Extremely busy on a Monday night and the six of us had to wait a bit before our table was ready. Because it is so popular the noise level is tremendous however the food and service were good. There is a great vibe to the place.
Sandra S — Google review
What a wonderful restaurant, a smiling faces of the waiting staff made our dining more appreciated. The food was also very good, plenty of vegetarian options, wheelchair accessible and more importantly the toilets were clean. Only let down was the lift music. Maybe it was Fausto Papetti (not sure) but does not really go well for daytime dining. It was borderline irritating. We will be back for sure. Would recommend.

Ocean Plaza Brewers Fayre is a laid-back family pub and restaurant chain offering classic dishes and international favorites. One of the most popular meals is the delicious Smothered Chicken Burger, a chef favorite. The Head Chef recommends trying the Salmon & Southport Potted Shrimp dish made from locally sourced produce. The restaurant offers plenty of fun activities for kids, including a huge play zone and proximity to attractions like Southport Pleasureland and Lakeside Miniature Railway.
Staff very polite and helpful the place clean wide range of food for all you can eat breakfast and reasonably priced would recommend

Very busy Brewers Fayre. Dined there at lunchtime on a Thursday. Always nice to see a place doing well, but being busy does incur a wait. Food was good and reasonably priced. Toilets in nice and clean condition, plus they have a baby changing room and breast feeding facilities if required

Martin who took our orders at the bar and Sam Davies the waiter both went above and beyond to deliver excellent service. All the other staff appeared smiley and friendly but didn't have any interaction with them. Been years since we had been as "L" the previous manager had been very rude to us and we found him to be very arrogant. We only tried it again as people at work recommended it and said he wasn't there any more. We certainly weren't disappointed. And the food was spot on too

1 hour and 40 mins to eat here between waiting for a table, queuing to order was ridiculously long & food then took a further 40 minutes. Upon entering the host was no where to be seen and 3 staff members passed us before I had to ask if I just sit myself down before the host was found/came over, wasn’t informed of any wait to order food or the wait for food. By the time we were seated and queued to order an hour has passed. Only upon getting to the front was I informed about the wait for food, the guy on the till however was the best part of any kind or service received. When the food finally arrived, my burger and fries were cold but at that point I didn’t have time to wait for any kind of remake due to having a train to catch, not like staff were easy to flag down anyway as there was people around me finding it difficult to chase up missing food/drinks
Bel B — Google review
Brewers Fayre offers good value for money with their food. It isn’t gastro pub or fine dining, but it is substantial food and incredible prices. The ambience can be noisy , but that’s to be expected with a place like brewers fayre which is popular for families with young children due to the fantastic value for meals. Service is quick and friendly. All in all this is the perfect place for families. It’s not a favourite choice of mine due to the noise and the food is not my favourite as I do prefer gastro pub meals, but you can’t beat here for value for families and I highly recommend it for this purpose alone .

Food was delicious, however my partner’s pasta was cold when came out. Problem was solved and a fresh one came out immediately. Thank you

Concept consuming pizza is very different in Prezzo with the air of sophistication, granite surroundings and the lack of noise. Pleasant and efficient staff. Holly was very pleasant and efficient. . Pizzas were getting harder to cut as they got colder (something a miss in the dough). Very clean throughout, toilets and wheelchair accessible. Would recommend.

We were served by Salah, the best server I have ever encountered! We have two small children. Salah suggested a few tables where we could park our pram and provided crayons to my toddler. He was attentive throughout. He just knew what we needed without us even saying anything and yet he was not pushy at all. The food was beautiful. It’s our first time visiting prezzo as we usually try to avoid chain restaurants. The food was better than we had expected. Even my picky toddler ate a lot.
C. C — Google review
We’ve been to Prezzo on quite a few occasions. Great service from Salah and the team, who were very helpful and friendly. Particularly enjoyed the Lemon Meringue pie and my favourite the Chicken Milanese 😋 Only criticism would be there didn’t seem as big a portion of chips with the main meal and not as good quality as previous occasions.
Chell E — Google review
Unfortunately not the best experience. Table was booked for 6pm, we arrived on time but ended up waiting 30 minutes for a very small portion of garlic bread as our starter - staff were very apologetic. As we had to leave the restaurant to get to an event Joe our waiter requested for our main dishes to be cooked on receiving our starter. Despite this, our meal all felt a bit rushed.Used the deal of one main and one main for a £1 but bill still felt a bit excessive and portion sizes seem to be a lot smaller too .. However, big shout out to Joe our waiter who did everything he could to help us get our meals quickly and for his quick lesson on Apple Pay as I had forgotten my purse.

I absolutely loved having lunch here today. I think the polite young lady who served me had all the qualities to be a future assistant manager in this beautiful Italian restaurant. I hope they care for the staff and their time as much as they care for the food and my experience here at Prezzo.

Could give this way more than five stars. Food was exceptional, the service personal and friendly and the atmosphere for a wet Tuesday was brilliant. People being noisy enjoying unbridled pleasure at the food being served here. Great menu with lots of choice, lots of interesting dishes and service with a smile. It’s not cheap but the 40 covers there this evening thought it was worth it. I will be back here to enjoy more delicious french food in the heart of Birkdale. Tables can now be booked for the Open next year

Husband and I went for an early tea as we had the opportunity of a baby sitter! Food is always fantastic here, I have literally never had a bad meal after visiting for 15+ years. Marc heads up a team of exceptional chefs whilst the waiting-on staff make sure you are well looked after. Michelin star quality food but with better portion sizes. The mix of French classic cuisine with some Asian dishes and top notch Italian pastas never ceases to amaze me. The menu is small (ish) but executed perfectly. There is a reason this place is booked up weeks in advance, but if you're in the local area you simply must visit

There’s a reputation to Verité that has interested me for years as a local. I’ve always wanted to try it, but didn’t realise they offered vegan options until recently. I appreciate that asking a French restaurant to cook vegan is a challenge, but they do promote a menu that caters for it. The starter of garlic mushrooms was disappointing — it felt like a bowl of boiled mushrooms with a dash of garlic oil. Watery and basic. The Malaysian vegetable curry, however, was much better. It stood out as a well-executed dish, especially for a French bistrot, and I couldn’t really fault it. My partner had the £50 steak, which she described as “just okay” — not particularly memorable and similar in taste to steaks at a third of the price. It’s also worth noting that you’re given a strict 90-minute slot for your meal. It felt like the staff were very aware of that time limit throughout, which added a sense of being rushed. The overall quality of food is good, but some of the pricing feels hard to justify. With a bill well into triple figures, I left feeling quite underwhelmed. It didn’t quite live up to the anticipation.

The Hesketh Arms, formerly known as the Black Bull, is a charming 18th-century chain pub that has been welcoming visitors for over two centuries. Situated conveniently for lively Southport and overlooking the grounds of the 12th century Meols Hall, this traditional pub offers hearty seasonal dishes and cask ales in a warm and inviting atmosphere. The venue is dog-friendly, with dogs welcome in both the bar area and beer garden.
What a lovely friendly pub to visit in the gorgeous Churchtown area. Food was impressively good! Seriously, get a starter and a main and you will be impressed. Probably the best "pub" meal I've had. We really enjoyed our visit with our big black Lab. Sat outside as it was so sunny, but would be no problem inside with a dog also from what I saw. Also dog bowls, water and gravy bones to help yourselves to. We will be back!

When our family goes out we go out as a pack. So to find somewhere that doesn’t mind a table for 12 is normally quite a challenge. And especially now as i’m on crutches for the next 5 weeks due to knee surgery. So being in a location suitable for disabled or mobile-friendly is high on our request lists. When I spoke to Dave, the manager to see if we could be seated in an area with little knee-distractions, he was very accommodating and even mentioned he would carry me if needed. On arrival he was at the entrance awaiting to see if we needed further assistance. Absolute gent! When seated, Keith our host was there catering for our every need and was very polite. Even when asked culinary questions from our awkward kids he was definitive and friendly. Today was exactly what i needed and the food was phenomenal. Thanks Team Hesketh Arms!

Had late Sunday dinner here. I ordered trio roast and it was the best Sunday roast I've had in a while! All food presentation was superb. Service was professional and friendly. I always assumed that it is a pub, but was wrong. This is definitely on a level of restaurant. Food was amaizing , well done! Lovely decorated for Christmas and nice vibes! I would definitely recommend this place for food , and will absolutely return in January. Enjoyed everything , no bad points to add at all. Nice work, keep it up , well done!

Nice decor and staff polite, although seem a little inexperienced/unsure of things. Food is good: ordered 2 lentil cottage pies and beef bourguignon. All round enjoyed and forgot to take a pic. Desserts very good. Chocolate orange one was quirky but good. Others (lemon tart and meringue) were also good but lemon is tart so beware. Good portions.

We both the Sunday roast I had the roast pork belly & my partner had the Turkey. We ordered some extras pigs in blankets, cauliflower cheese & Yorkshire puddings. Not realising that the roasts came with Yorkies. But we did nearly everything 😜 everything was delicious 🤤 we were full up gutted we didn’t have room for pudding 😜 we will know next time to leave room.

La Tabella is a popular Italian restaurant with wonderful atmosphere and excellent service. They have a great menu with lots of variety at reasonable prices, making it the perfect place to dine out. The staff are friendly and helpful, making you feel right at home. One downside is that their sea food pizza has been removed from the menu, but this shouldn't discourage anyone from visiting La Tabella!
Did the lunchtime deal with mum on a Friday afternoon. Booked online as I know it's a smallish place and with the festive season upon us I thought it would be busy - I was right! £15.95 for any pizza or pasta, plus a beer, wine or soft drink. Duck pizza for me was beautiful and mums seafood pasta disappeared in record time so I'm guessing it was nice! Lovely service, clean, great menu, and the included drink selection was much better than other deals of its type I have seen. This was our second visit, and most certainly will not be our last!

Absolutely outstanding restaurant! Me and my wife had a lovely meal, both had starters and the mains (two different kinds of pasta). Food was absolutely delicious with some not really obvious flavour combinations, portions were big enough and staff were lovely too. Will definitely be coming back!

Last week I tried La Tabella’s midweek offer - two course for £19.50. I was instantly impressed by the menu, particularly the selection of pasta dishes (swipe for a cheese pull😍). I had a lovely experience, everything we tried was flavourful and the customer service was great! I will definitely be returning, even just for the ‘granchio mac and cheese’, a seafood and cheese lovers dream! 🍤🧀 📸PICTURED📸 Granchio Mac and cheese Pollo arrosto Garlic pizza (tomato) Arancini al pomodoro e basilico Bruschetta Follow my Instagram for more local reviews @niceatsuk
Nicole S — Google review
It was a very good small Italian restaurant in Southport / Churchtown with 5-star food and service in the last 5 years but it has changed today. We are kind of loyal customers to the restaurant, and we always recommended many friends to try this restaurant in the past 5 years when they visited Southport. We went there almost once every two months.... but regret to say that it was no longer in my restaurant list any more after today. Today, we brought 16 people, a mix of 9 adults (men & women) and 7 young people (boys and girls and some of them are under 18) to there for a lunch. Though we finally ordered 12 set lunch (starter and lunch at £18 each) + one extra main course plus some snacks and drinks today, the restaurant may wrongly counted the number of lunch sets and had charged us 2 set lunche more. While we came back tonight around 2100 to ask for a refund of the two over-charged lunch sets, the restaurant owner and his staff first denied that it has an over-charged situation and insisted the bill was correct. While we showed our group photos to prove what we had ordered, he then said our lunch order was too little for 16 people, the pictures were not taken at the beginning of the lunch, and we should not share food within the restaurant. If we did so, the restaurant would do its business in loss, and baabaabaa..... finally, with our insist, he was somehow reluctant to refund us £40 from his cashier machine. Understand that he wanted to protect his business from loss, but I'm quite disappointing about his response tonight. First, we are his loyal customers in years, and only asked for a refund the first time due to the overcharge situation. Second, during lunch time, it only had another 3-4 customers there. Without us (we paid more than £320 to yhe restaurant. If not, it may only get a max of £100 from them during lunch time. Third, as we all may know, a restaurant's profit margin is not mainly coming from meals but from drinks ordered by its customers. Drinks, also desserts, have very high profit margin to a restaurant comparing to that of main course. Fourth, its food quality was not as good as before, especially in our last two patronages (two weeks ago and today). Fifth, an over-bill case and not order enough main course per person are two separate issues. He should not mix these two issues up. Finally, if the boss knows how to deal with his loyal customers better and more skillful, it would not lose some loyal customers like us. My suggestions to the restaurant and the owner are ... 1) may state clearly in the restaurant that it has a minimum charge to each individual customer, or each customer should order a main course over there during lunch time. 2) to ensure food quality of the restaurant to be consistent over time, 3) if he wants to operate a more profitable business, he should improve his customer handling and communication skill. Customers may not always right but he should handle different dispute better.

Superb dining and service experience. Excellent interaction with everyone we spoke to or dealt with from booking to drinks to food service, top notch! Two had fish and chips and one roast lamb everyone was very impressed by the quality, quantity and timing. Drinks were good “house” Wines were very good. We were very impressed with The Office Restaurant. Three of us went for a mid week dinner and everything was great. The staff were friendly and attentive but not overly so. The food was well presented and absolutely delicious. The steamed steak pudding was up there as one of the best pies I have ever had. Only comment was the 2010s pop music was incongruous - although I’m a fan so all is good. Good place, will return and would highly recommend.

We called here after the flower show expecting to be told we had to have a booking. Got a very nice warm welcome instead and taken to a table. All the staff were so friendly and helpful. I will definitely be going back.

Birthday dinner with friends. Four of us opted for the tapas, which were excellent at £15 for 3 and portion sizes were good. Vincent Café & Restaurant offers an eclectic menu that combines British classics with European and international dishes. Guests can indulge in hand-made sushi and flavorful miso at the Sushi Bar. The restaurant provides a warm atmosphere, spotless facilities, and friendly staff, with accessible features such as a disabled toilet for those with mobility needs. While some visitors noted occasional lapses in service during quieter times, many praised the delicious food and excellent overall experience.
We decided to try breakfast at The Vincent and were not disappointed! One full English and one fluffy pancakes with bacon and syrup. Both dishes cooked very well and we both enjoyed the . Coffee was decent too. It’s a little pricey for the area, but the food quality was excellent.

Usually an excellent restaurant but last night they only had a limited menu because of some issues in the kitchen. Maybe call your bookings so they could have a choice of changing their bookings. Myself and my Fiancee travelled a fair distance to the restaurant so turning back hungry wasn't an option but a call from Vincent's earlier in the day would have been appreciated. The food we did choose last night was excellent (as usual)

Restaurant
Nestled in the charming Ainsdale Village, Dolce Vita is a cherished Italian restaurant that offers a delightful dining experience just a stone's throw from the train station. Recently, I had the pleasure of discovering their newly opened outdoor bar on a sunny afternoon. It was an absolute treat to sip drinks while soaking up the vibrant atmosphere and watching life unfold around me. The attentive staff ensured our experience was enjoyable, even though I resisted the temptation of their mouthwatering dishes wafting through the air.
Food was excellent! My husband and I had lamb, sirloin steak and our daughter had lasagna. The waiter was friendly and cheerful and ran front of house all by himself. Will return very soon. Thank you. 2nd foto does come with chips and sauce!

We were walking down Station Road and this afternoon and noticed a bar had opened up outside Dolce Vita. With it being a nice sunny day we thought it would be a good idea to try out this new bar so we bought a couple of drinks and sat at one of the outside tables. It was quite pleasant to sit there and watch the world go by. Service was quick and the staff were very attentive. Very tempted by the smell of the food coming out of the restaurant but unfortunately had already eaten. Will have to return and try out the food.

Food and service is good, but it used to be so much better! We used to love this place but feel like some of the ingredients have been swapped with cheaper alternatives, especially the cheese. Prices have increased quite a bit too. We will still happily go back but it’s a shame that it isn’t the same standard. The manager is great there though, he’s been there for years and clearly knows what he’s doing.

An excellent restaurant with top-quality food and first-class service but that never feels "stuffy". We ate inside then moved to the outdoor seating for drinks. We called here for a couple of evening drinks at the newly built outdoor bar. It was lovely. Although we didn't have food this time, I've scored the food as five stars as we've eaten here before and the food is top quality. Yes, the food is a bit pricey compared to other places in Ainsdale village, but you get what you pay for. Overall, a really nice place for just a couple of outdoor drinks in the sun, or a full celebration meal for a group.

Came here with a thought of having a bite to eat. Initially, it seemed OK. Though closer observing not so much. Just ended up having hot drinks to take with us. The bathroom facilities were atrocious, and it seemed to me that chaps(of foreign origine) do not know how to clean at all. And although coffee was ok-ish, overly pricey-we paid £10 for 3 hot drinks altogether. I should've really asked how much to begin with. Whilst waiting for our drinks to cool down so that we can carry them with us, we sat outside and noticed that all the tables were rather wonky-we nearly ended up losing our drinks because of it. The surrounding area looked dirty and tired. Uninterested staff members with limited English language. Never going back!

Not a place we would visit again. The fish was tiny in fact they were mostly made of soggy batter! The fish, little we had, was tasteless. The chips were a mix of over cooked and hard under cooked chips, awful. Only 2 toilets for this large premises. They were dirty, no toilet paper in either and there was a constant queue. Nestled in the charming Ainsdale village on Station Road, Tipple Bar has quickly become a beloved spot since its opening last year. This welcoming wine bar boasts an impressive selection of fine wines, ales, lagers, spirits, cocktails, and specialty coffees. The owners have beautifully restored the space to highlight original timber features and ornate windows that enhance its rustic charm.
Had brunch with a group of running friends after a very extremely cold morning on the beach. This bar has a specific outdoor area under cover with decent patio heaters specifically for dogs. The area was lovely and warm even though it was well down to around -5 outside. The area was very popular with both human and doggy customers. Had a delicious latte and lovely cooked scrambled eggs on brown toast. My doggy got to make some doggy friends too. Would consider a return visit.

Thought we'd drop in for a quick pint. It was nicely decorated and immaculately clean inside and is quite popular judging from the amount of people sitting outside at lunchtime. There was a good selection of drinks and service was quick. There was still plenty of seating available outside, and there was also a covered section on one side. I'd imagine that in the evening it would be quite busy.

Punch Tarmey's Southport is a new Irish bar located on Lord Street, adding to the town's 'Northern Quarter'. The bar is part of the adjacent Lord Street Hotel and features attractive boxing-themed decor. While it may not be authentically Irish, the prices are reasonable and the staff is friendly. Although they don't currently serve food, there are plans to build a kitchen in the future. The atmosphere inside is great with friendly staff and good beer selection.
Decent pint of guinness and zero alcohol cider. Unfortunately john smiths was playing up £8.60 pricey compared to the £5.46 I'd just paid in the wetherspoons but it was a lot quieter. Must say the bar staff in here were amazing, happy singing along and cheerful 😊

Lovely place, lovely staff. Toilets could do with a clean. Weve been quite a bit and there on the needing TLC side the past few months. Food was small we got 2 pizzas to share between 4 people and they were pretty nice but about half the size you would normally get (just something to keep in mind). A very nice place to go. We are repeating customers and take friends there frequently. We recommend it

Probably the least Irish Irish bar I've ever been in, except saved by the Irish tricolor hanging over the bar and dirty protest wall and ceiling decor! That said, pleasant enough surroundings and decent pint.

Great pint of Guinness and the barman was great just pub dead on Wednesday night but I think £5.90 they are out pricing the climate, shame really liked the vibe and atmosphere apart from this.
Dan N — Google review
Part of the adjacent Lord Street Hotel (with an adjoining door), so the decor (boxing themed) is very attractive. Not authentically Irish (as described) and not a great selection of ales. The hotel connection results in the food being better than you might expect and the prices are very reasonable for the surroundings. Staff are friendly too, so overall 4 stars.

Was in with a large group of people all watching rugby only for it to be turned off just as the second half started, despite a number of people asking for it to be turned back on and or the screens split to accommodate the people in the bar the bar staff rudly said no and refused to do this, despite both rugby and football being shown beforehand. Unfriendly - wouldn't visit again

The food was amazing and the atmosphere was so calming the service was fantastic and polite, came from Manchester as a little get away and wanted to try something new, the soft calming music came and drew us in, love the place will come back!

I had an amazing time at Burrata. From the moment I walked in, the cozy, welcoming atmosphere set the tone for a great evening. The lighting was just right—not too bright, not too dim—and the soft background music added the perfect touch. The pizza was out of this world, with a crispy crust and delicious, fresh toppings that just melted in your mouth. The staff were incredibly friendly and made sure we were comfortable the whole time without being overbearing. It really felt like they cared about making our experience special. If you’re looking for a relaxed yet memorable dining experience, this is the place. I can’t wait to come back and try more from their menu. A true gem!

We ordered two pizzas which we both agreed was the best we have every had. Really authentic Italian style pizza's. We also had a side of potato wedges with an awesome firey mayo chilli dip. Will definitely be coming back. We even got an appetizer each compliments of the house.

Nestled in the serene countryside of Merseyside, Formby Hall Golf Resort & Spa is a luxurious haven that caters to both relaxation and recreation. This exquisite resort features an impressive golf course alongside a state-of-the-art spa, complete with heated swimming pools, saunas, steam rooms, and ten lavish therapy rooms designed for ultimate pampering. Ideal for couples or families seeking rejuvenation, the spa offers a tranquil escape from everyday stress.
We had an amazing spa weekend to celebrate my partner’s birthday. I visited this spa around 10 years ago and was a bit hesitant after reading some recent reviews, but honestly, I couldn't disagree more with the negative comments. Some people just like to moan! From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming, and we were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary room upgrade. The room was spacious, immaculate, and the bathroom was enormous, complete with a TV above the bath. The restaurant was outstanding, easily a 10/10. I’d highly recommend the spring rolls, chicken supreme and chocolate fondant; every course was delicious and generously portioned. Breakfast the next morning was just as great. The view overlooking the golf course added to the peaceful atmosphere. The spa itself was fantastic, and once again, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. We both had a scalp, neck, and shoulder massage, which was absolute bliss. There’s a wide range of facilities to choose from, and we had the most relaxing morning. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel & spa and will definitely be coming back!

Stayed for 2 nights with 3 rounds of golf. Rooms were decent size and clean, but why is there no privacy on the bathroom doors, especially when it’s more than likely 2 fellas playing golf are going to be sharing, not great seeing your mate crimping one out when you walk into the room 😬 Breakfast and tea were great, and the service, was fantastic, especially from Mick who went above and beyond 👌 Golf greens were good, fairways a little bare, with some tough lies, but we’ve had some really dry weather over the last couple of months but really enjoyed both courses. Golf buggies are frustrating, cutting out when searching for a ball, alligator warning then cutting out, had to get out and push a few times because forward and reverse had been disabled, generally just beeping warnings at you all day long, was enjoyable on the second day to get one that had been reset with no overrides. Pool, steam room and sauna were all clean and decent. Well worth a stay.

Superb place for a cheeky little golf weekend with the lads. We were a party of 36 and they really did look after us. A special mention has to go to Mark the food and drink manager who was absolutely superb for the whole weekend. The championship course was in great nick considering the hot weather we've had, the 9 hole course wasn't in great condition but it was very enjoyable. The only slight downside was the food. It wasn't bad, but, not great either. The chunky chips were like cardboard. Overall though this was a great place to spend some time with the lads and hit a few balls.

Had a recent stay at this first class hotel while on a golfing trip. Great venue and only 15mins from a fair amount of golf clubs. Definitely worth the trip if you are wanting to play Royal Birkdale or one of it's neighbours. The staff were friendly and quick. Got to thank one of the managers Ryan, for his great service and the attentiveness he displayed on duty. Would stay again.

Charming setting, spacious rooms, and genuinely helpful staff. The hotel itself is nestled in beautiful parkland with extensive facilities—from an 18-hole championship course to spa amenities and a heated pool—making it ideal for a relaxing weekend getaway or a round of golf. It wasn’t too busy when we went either so the pool had plenty of room to swim around!

Attended a wedding here. Good venue with good facilities. Decent food at reasonable prices. Most of the staff are friendly and helpful but some could benefit from customer care training. Had to go to local Tesco as over 2 nights they didn't have ANY zero alcohol beer/lager.

Botanic Road Kitchen is a popular spot in Southport, offering a wide range of beverages and delectable food. The venue is perfect for various events, as the staff are accommodating and attentive to details. Guests can enjoy an intimate and cozy space upstairs for pre- and post-dinner gatherings, adding their own personal touches to the setting.
Party of 6 & a 4 month old. Service was brilliant. Warm & friendly staff and the food all arrived together. We had the brunch menu. 4 of us had the Full English while I had the Chorizo poached egg on sour dough & my daughter-in-law, the Eggs Benedict. All were delicious. Would highly recommend the food & service all set in a lovely atmosphere.

Fantastic food! We went for the first time this week and shared 6 dishes between 2 of us. They were all delicious and we thought very good value given the standard of the food and its presentation. The service was both friendly and efficient. We sat outside with our dog and thoroughly enjoyed our lunch.

I recently organised a baby shower at Botanic Road, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The staff were so accommodating, and the venue was stunning inside and out. We had the snug upstairs, which is such a cosy, intimate space—perfect for adding our own special touches and having pre- and post-dinner drinks without being stuck at the table. The little details made it feel so special—fresh flowers in the ice bucket from the staff, and they were so easygoing about us bringing lots of real candles, which isn’t always the case at venues. The food was incredible. My lamb roast was cooked to perfection, and everyone was thrilled with their meals. The staff were amazing, making sure the event flowed exactly how we wanted. Even better, we could have dogs with us, which just added to how lovely the day was. Can’t wait to come back for dinner—or brunch with the dog soon!

On one of the hottest days of the year so far, my friends and I decided to have a Sunday roast dinner. Whilst an odd decision on our part, I’m glad we did! We preordered our meat a few days before, at the request of the restaurant. The food was lovely, with large portions and cooked to individual choice. Cocktails went down well too! Recommend.
Lydia R — Google review
The food was great and it’s a beautiful setting but it wasn’t made clear that only selected items were on the midweek 2 for £15 or 3 for £20 offer. Hence the poor service score.

What an amazing experience we had. My wife and I visited to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It’s rare to have a night off without kids so to have such a fantastic meal was such a bonus. From the moment we walked through the door, everything was perfect. Lovely surroundings, great atmosphere, attentive staff and absolutely stunning food. We had six small plates between us and everyone was stunning. Full of flavour and plenty big enough to leave us full and satisfied. This place is firmly now at the top of our favourite restaurants in Southport. Stunning!!

Enjoyed the taster menu tonight, choice of 3 small starters and 2 small taster main courses, with vegetables. All the dishes were very tasty. The lemon cheese cake was delicious, but the cheeseboard, which we decided to share, was not worth 10.00,and had 5 biscuits and a few slithers of cheese,Def not worth the price. Would recommend bistro 21,very nice food, good service although slightly on expensive side.

Food OK for price. Breakfast is a little tragic... Given the standard of their dinners I'm surprised they don't offer breakfast cooked to order. Instead it's powdered scrambled eggs... Bar staff are inexperienced. Service is much better at Sparrowhawk pub round the corner (grub is as good as and half the price!)

Lovely stay at formby golf resort and had a lovely breakfast and dinner at the grill restaurant. Potato and garlic soup was lovely, and the butternut squash gnocchi (+chicken) was amazing and the grilled chicken fillet was gorgeous too! Lovely quiet location with views of the golf course

The food was fine. We came in on bank holiday Monday for a friends birthday celebration. We were 7 adults and two kids. The service was shockingly slow. We had to constantly chase someone for something. They forgot our friends drinks for the entire meal and we couldn’t ask anyone because they all disappeared to the back. We then ordered dessert and had informed them it was one of our friends birthday and they said they would bring a birthday plate but surprise surprise THEY FORGOT! We had to chase it up and then when the lady came with it it was alright. She didn’t mention anything about the chocolates having alcohol so the children at the table asked for a chocolate and we gave it to them. One of our friend had the other chocolate on the plate and that’s when we found out that there was Alcohol!!! We decided to just ask for the bill and go. We got our bill and we’re ready to pay but now the card machine were down and then they asked us to pay at the bar. Which we did but then then we were not able to pay separately. I don’t know if we went on a bad day but the service was bad and k wouldn’t recommend it! ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE KIDS or allergies/intolerances!!!

Food was decent, had better for the price. waited an awful long time to get service. Waited 15 min for a desert menu's only to be forgotten about for almost half an hour. Even though the staff were stood 10ft away from us. Ended having to go to the bar to pay as we couldn't even get the attention of the staff for the bill. Won't be going back as seeing other reviews being somewhat the same.

Got rushed into ordering food at the till. Burger was burnt, all the bread was microwaved, soggy chewy calamari. Not great at all considering how much they charge. Plates and ramekins all chipped Didn’t get asked how we liked our food and plates weren’t cleared for over 45 minutes. Won’t be eating here again unfortunately

Spent £117 today for 10 people on food. Place is a little quirky and in a strange part of southport, but all was good. The quality of food was decent and there were no complaints about the food. The service was a little slow for drinks. Seemed a bit slow working behind the bar. Leffe tasted like sour vinegar. Overall a fairly decent visit.

Good food with good entertainment. I have been a few times and always enjoyed it. The food is of good quality and have not been disappointed. The tapas was good no need for more than 3 portions as the sizes are decent too. Can get crampt on a entertainment night. Good selection of beers, Goose, Dortmunder, Peroni, Carling and more. I had the steak pie on my most recent. I frequently have the steak because it's one of the few places that can cook a steak very well.

I've visited this place many times before but never left a review. It was very busy everywhere else in Sputhport as Bank Holiday. Decided to stop here for lunch. Service is good , can't fault it 👌, but unfortunately food is a little overpriced for what you get. Some people might disagree. In terms of ambience - place is quite dark which I find off putting. Could be better if visit late evening. They do some good tributes apparently. Weekends could be good for drinks and music. But won't be coming back for food, sorry.

Excellent establishment for food, drinks, service, atmosphere and entertainment. The staff are the gems of this place, friendly, calm, as well as professional . Good food and portions. Plenty to choose for vegetarian and vegans. I guess it is a good venue for any occasion . Great decor (in and out), especially for those with a short attention span to practice active listening while your eyes wonder (admiring that picture frame) and not look bored with the conversation you are enduring. Good value for money for the quality and quantity of the food. Clean toilets and throughout. I would highly recommend.

The Taj Mahal is a long-standing bring-your-own-bottle (BYOB) restaurant that offers traditional Indian cuisine in a relaxed, warmly decorated setting. Located in Blackpool, it provides a refreshing alternative to the common fish and chip shops. The menu boasts an array of delectable chicken and lamb dishes, as well as a delightful assortment of vegetarian options.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Taj Mahal Blackpool and I must say, it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that immediately set the tone for a wonderful meal. The menu offers a diverse selection of halal dishes, each more tempting than the last. I decided to try their grilled lamb kebabs, lamb chops and chicken tandoori and it was absolutely delicious! The meat was tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. The spices were bold but balanced, and every bite was a true delight. What truly stood out was the service. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and eager to share recommendations, making the entire experience feel personal and special. They made sure to check in with us regularly without being intrusive. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, with elegant decor that made the experience feel both casual and refined. Very disappointed with Taj Mahal Restaurant in Blackpool. The food was just average in taste, and the portions were quite small. We spent around £190 on food, which was extremely overpriced considering the quality and quantity we received. They charge nearly four times more than what similar dishes cost elsewhere. Honestly, it wasn’t worth the money at all. If you’re planning to visit, be aware you’re paying far more than what it’s worth.

Visited last year and was a good experience so we returned this year on our stay in Blackpool but was extremely disappointed. Prices had been increased (in my opinion overpriced) but we stayed anyway as the food was nice on previous year. Food was ok. Some parts of the order was missing and we had to request it. The waiter was friendly. They added a compulsory 10% service charge to the already overpriced meals that was not mentioned prior to ordering. Won't be going back.

Nestled on Lord Street, Bistrot Pierre - Southport is a charming all-day bistro that beautifully marries classic and seasonal French cuisine with a relaxed atmosphere. This inviting eatery offers an array of delightful options, from expertly crafted dishes like sea bass and boeuf bourguignon to comforting favorites for the little ones, such as petit steak frites. The menu changes with the seasons, ensuring fresh ingredients are always at the forefront.
Randomly decided to have lunch here. Previously, always walk by and never thought of twice to stop for a meal. Glad we stopped and they had a table available. Love the interior decor. Option on nice big window seating or you can site further in away from the natural light for a more cozier atmosphere. Waiting service is excellent no issues and friendly. A few dietary and gluten free options available which always a plus. Prices are great and the food was very tasty and perfectly seasoned for my taste buds. Manager was very polite and personable. For a traditional French and English meal and good service without spending too much I would highly recommend. Will visit again to try out more

The Southport branch has been open a while but every time we've passed it's been very busy so we've waited until the fuss of the new eatery to die down. Today it looked quite quiet so we thought we'd give it a go. A very airy restaurant with pleasant, French influenced decor (of course). Clean, tidy and tables set for eating. We waited a while for our food but we weren't in a hurry and assumed, as it was a quiet time of the day, there was probably less kitchen staff. The food looked very appetizing on arrival and the taste was good too. Worth the wait. Wheelchair and pram accessible. Lots of room around the tables with a bathroom downstairs as well as the individual bathrooms upstairs. I don't have any info about the children's menu but later on there were children dining happily. All the staff were friendly and happy to help. Overall a pleasant visit and we would definitely return.

We love to eat out as a family and as a couple. We've been coming here now for a few months, and I can testify to the consistency in the standard of customer service and food. We have always been greeting promptly with a smile, whether it's been for a midweek lunch or on an evening. We have always enjoyed the atmosphere it's classy and relaxed. It's not stuffy. The music in the background is eclectic but not overpowering. The staff aren't intrusive yet are still attentive. Now to the important stuff.. The Food! We have enjoyed the change to a winter menu, and it's equally as tasty as the summer one. The meals are well thought out and presented. The menu isn't vast (I think that's a good thing) but has plenty enough for everyones tastes. You can see every care is taken, whether it's a starter or main. Hubby loves the bacon wrapped dates. I adore the sea bass. They make the perfect Amaretto sour too! Here are a small sample of the meals we've enjoyed.

First visit to Bistrot Pierre, the food and drink was fantastic with reasonable prices with a set 2/3 course menu available, service from the team was brilliant, all very helpful. The Soup, Mushrooms and Chicken Diane were very tasty but unfortunately no dauphinoise potatoes were available, substitutes were offered so we appreciated that. The cocktail menu was extensive with some delicious choices to choose from, my only issue with it being I wish you could mix and match as part of the offer for 2 for £12. Letting customers have the option to have not just the same two. Other than that, great first visit- we will definitely return, thank you.

We really enjoyed our first visit here. The menu is excellent, the food beautifully cooked and presented, and the atmosphere spot on. We chose to sit upstairs, and it was very peaceful - only three couples at any one time. The restaurant is very spacious too, which we like. Downstairs on the other hand was full and buzzing; so each to their own. Two starters, two mains (duck and lamb) and a bottle of wine for £65.

The Swan Restaurant and Take Away, a long-standing family-owned establishment in Southport, has been serving traditional fish 'n' chips for over 35 years. It is renowned for its high-quality fish and potatoes, often sourced locally and sustainably. This beloved spot has gained international recognition, even making appearances on television. The restaurant offers both dine-in and take-away options, ensuring that visitors can enjoy their delicious meals at their convenience.
Great staff, great food! The best fish and chips I’ve ever had! The steak pie is amazing, and I love the flavour so much! The fried haddock is crispy and perfectly cooked, without being greasy. A must-visit place in Southport!

Old style fish and chip cafe, good portions, and big serve with bread butter, peas and tea, but it was ok rather than great. Chips were not crisp and were a bit lukewarm, tea was weak as, service was very nice friendly and quick. Ok value. Worth a try as the reviews seem to fluctuate quire a bit.

The best fish n chips in Southport? Definitely! The perfect stop to grab some food when out on the motorbikes with mates. And it’s my usual restaurant when the kids are hungry as it’s the best food and service for miles.

Does exactly what it says on the tin. No muss nor fuss fish and chips for a cheerfully low price, with hefty portion sizes. Staff are incredible - hands down, the fastest service ever received within 3 minutes.

Lived here most of my life, and the Swan Fish and Chips takeaway is well renowned around town, it has always been a local favourite, and I have to say that it is by far for me the best. The quality of the chips, never soggy, always tasty. The service is friendly . The wait can often be long on Friday night chilly night, but it really is the telltale of a good fish and chip shop :)

Absolutely Gorgeous place 😍best Fish dinner with curry you'll ever have . Staff are lovley and the service is fast :)

Fish was fresh. Chips so so. What I didn’t like was it was served on polystyrene plate. Both mine and the other portion of fish and chips. Carcinogenic ! I thought that stuff had been banned so only one star. Customer eating inside got the better piece of fish too !!! Taken off my plastic carcinogenic plate !!

Was in Southport and my daughter wanted fish n chips. A colleague of mine recommended this place. A quick Google suggested we should visit and we were not disappointed. The inlaws came with us and the were both very happy. It's tucked away a little but definitely worth finding this place. Service was spot on and the food was amazing too. Lots of empty plates and full bellies! When we're back in Southport we will definitely be back!

Fylde Fish Bar Marshside is a classic fish and chip restaurant and takeaway known for its easygoing vibe and use of local ingredients. While some find it a bit pricey, many appreciate the fact that it's open until 8pm, making it convenient for those looking to grab a meal after work or school. The quality and cooking of the fish is highly praised, with some even preferring it over renowned fish and chip spots in other towns.
Excellent gluten free fish and chips. A bit pricey but then everything has gone up in price recently. £28 for 2 fish chips and peas with curry sauce. Portion size not huge but plenty for me. Enjoyed would recommend.

Good place to have good quality food served by friendly staff. Plenty of choice for vegetarians. If unsure, just ask the member of staff. Good value for money, free parking eat in or takeaway. If the vegetarian options were clearly marked on the board as more and more people are, then it would be 5 stars. Would recommend.

Quality fish and chips to take away or eat in there’s a good selection of classic chip shop foods on the menu but for me the cod is a favourite perfectly cooked and coated in a crispy batter all served with a friendly smile it’s a real treat without breaking the bank. The photo is the regular cod meal perfect for my appetite

Some of the best fish and chips I've had, with that perfect mild and sweet curry sauce that all fish and chips should be drenched in. Sorry about the picture, I tried to get one that shows the white fluffiness of the cod. Really delicious, with efficient service. Is it expensive? Yes. But do you get banging traditional fish and chips? Yes. Will we be back? Yes.

Just had two fish and chips with curry sauce and salt and pepper calamari, What a delight, crisp batter, good chip shop chips, lovely curry sauce. Must be best fish and chips in the area. Very busy so must be well loved. Great new find.

My first visit here while visiting Southport I had a traditional fish and chips takeaway with the largest onions rings ever ever seen. Then on my second visit with the family we decide to dine in,at the immaculate restaurant. There was a considerable variety of dishes available to suit most taste and dietary requirements and a good children's menu with a drink & ice cream included. I decided to try the fish pie even though I don't like smoked fish but I was glad I did, as it was delicious, my partner tried the steak pie which he said" was the best he had tasted in a while!". Yes I agree with others on it being a little pricey but I wouldnt call the food here the your average chip shop standard and I like that it is locally sourced, so for me I am happy to pay that little more and know I am getting good quality food that's also supporting other local businesses. The staff are friendly and welcoming and there is plenty of free parking available and the restaurant is wheelchair accessible.

Nice place. I like the concept. You can choose takeaway or stay in in a pleasing restaurant with very friendly and kind service (offering homemade tartar sauce to go with the fish). You can get a beer or wine with your traditional and tasty meals. They even have the most fancy bill treats I've ever seen.

The Fishermen's Rest is a family-friendly pub in Southport that specialises in fresh, home cooked food and regular quiz nights. The atmosphere is fantastic, the staff are friendly and welcoming, and the food is definitely something special - definitely worth a visit for a Sunday lunch.
A really friendly welcome as you enter this pub which appears to be predominantly full of diners at lunchtime - the specials board looks the business. Cask ales are well kept and are more on the traditional side. I had Landlord and its quality justified the entry in the Good Beer Guide.

Been coming here for quite a few years and they always have a good selection of real ales and beers. They have a large menu with a wide choice. I had the Beef Stroganoff and it was really tasty. I would recommend trying it out. It always seems full every lunchtime we call in so would recommend booking in advance. The only downside is that they can take a while to answer the phone as I presume they're always very busy.

Was a lovely afternoon, first time after a long while of wanting to go inside. Interior and the staff were lovely and true to the theme of the overall room/experience, lots of displays homemade cakes and award winning tea/ coffee was so lovely was ordered a couple of times. Portion sizes a lot bigger than first thought and definitely get what you pay for, everything made to order nice and hot. Lovely and tasty can’t fault the food and experience Staff were really accommodating of us ordering couple of courses at the beginning and waiting till we were ready to make everything fresh. Had to ask and remind the staff of a few things we had ordered/ came with our order but that might be down to it being forever busy and hustle and bustle of the restaurant. So can’t fault them for that

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Chez Moi, a charming French cuisine restaurant that offered an exquisite two or three-course meal. We started with Prawn cocktails & Chicken liver pâté which were so fresh and flavorful. For main, we opted for the pan-fried Salmon fillet & grilled Lamb chops which were perfectly cooked and delicious. We concluded our meals with Chocolate profiteroles & a cup of Espresso. Chez Moi exceeded my expectations with its exquisite food, elegant presentation, and charming atmosphere. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to indulge in authentic French cuisine.

You don’t find many places like this anymore, not in England anyway. It’s a small, independent, friendly place where you feel genuinely welcome and the food is great too. The guy who owns it/runs it is so kind to everyone and nothing is too much trouble. It’s not going to win a Michelin star, but actually that’s a failure on the part of Michelin rather than this restaurant, because small independent places that cook good food day in, day out, ought to be recognised more. I wouldn’t go anywhere else to eat when I’m visiting my friend in Southport.
Andrew T — Google review
A restaurant that looks ordinary from the outside. When you see it on the street, you might not think it's that special. But when you walk in, you will find that the decoration inside is very elegant. In addition, the enthusiastic staff will serve you immediately as soon as you walk in. The food here is very delicious. I order a Risotto with chicken & mushroom, a small size Moules Provencale and a latte. The mussels are very fresh as if they were just caught from the sea, you cannot find anywhere else. Risotto creamy and full of chicken & mushroom. I paid £20.40 for this meal, and I think it's definitely worth the price.

Amazing local restaurant if you’re a meat or veggie eater. The mussels and salmon that I had were 10/10. Everyone else enjoyed their roast dinners and lamb chops. Only downfall was the veggie options weren’t very good for the two people in our party (mushrooms on toast, tortellini) but if you’re not veggie 100% recommend and make sure you book as it’s busy every night. Also the guy could do with a wait staff helper as he was on his own and the restaurant was full! Very reasonably priced too

Went with my girlfriend on a Saturday night, not too busy though. Had to wait a few minutes to be seated and even longer to recieve our menus. Espresso Notini was delicious and so was my steak. After an incredibly long wait at every stage of the meal, we were delivered the bill. I’m only 17, so no alcohol and only mains. Paid 100 pounds. After revising the bill with my mum at home, I discovered I had been overcharged 30 pounds plus a service charge to take it to 40 extra. What was added? 4 and a half pints of assorted draught beer. Absolutely ridiculous. Admittedly, I drove over there and got a refund on the additions but the manager tried to keep the service charge on (15% with pints removed), so only after I specifically requested it was it taken off. As a young person, every penny counts, and when I try to take my girlfriend for our one year anniversary to ‘the best place in town’- according to most- this is absolutely awful to do. As a waiter at a restaurant on Lord Street, I completely understand that things happen, but with everything happening, it’s borderline unacceptable. I’ll never come back, do better

Gorgeous decor, food we had 2 course festive menu. Braised beef then christmas pudding. Both courses delicious. Happy hour was on 4-7pm. Gin £3 selected cocktails £7. Was a bit noisy as expected with Christmas parties going on. But had a lovely experience and looking forward to returning. I did pay a £20 deposit on booking which wasn't taken off the final bill until we pointed this out. A slight over sight.

The place wasn't stuck up at all. The DJ was really good, I really enjoyed his set. Cant wait for the next level to open so we get the views as well. Definitely coming back

Was part of a small group booked for an evening meal. The food was excellent, and there's an open kitchen so I was able to walk up and personally thank the chefs. As a place which serves such fabulous and fabulously priced drinks, as a non drinker I was expecting some choice of non alcoholic beers. They didn't have anything but a non alcohol fruit cider. A missed opportunity there. The service was unfortunately spit by gender. The ladies were attentive, busy, an asset to the team, but unfortunately weren't serving our table. The gents were letting the side down. Confused when taking orders, we asked 3 times for the table water to be refilled before one of the ladies was asked and did it right away. My coffee arrived with no milk, which I requested. I had finished the black coffee, paid and left before seeing any sign of milk. I would have loved to have had the experience the other reviewers have had, I just didn't. Which is a shame when I spent £115 as my family's share of the bill.

Delighted to find this authentic Thai restaurant in Southport. From the starters we knew this was a winner. The fish cakes and chicken satay had been made in-house and were fresh and extremely tasty. Both main courses lived up to expectations and it was no trouble to them to add extra spice on request. We had a nice Malbec wine and finished with a quick chat with the owners who come from Chiang Mai. A very pleasant evening.

Hickory's - Southport is a delightful American smokehouse that promises a warm and inviting experience from the moment you step through the door. The friendly staff greets you with genuine hospitality, guiding you to your table where you'll find complimentary cold water and a tasty bag of popcorn waiting for you. With an extensive gluten-free menu, diners can feel assured as senior staff members personally confirm that their meals are prepared separately to avoid cross-contamination.
Another great meal at Hickories in Southport. Today we had the special Thanks Giving menu. Wow it was delish! Piping hot, loads of it and the kids had a ball in the cinema room. The staff are always so quick and attentive. We will be back!

First visit to a Hickory's today. We were a little concerned when directions took us to the middle of a housing estate, but that's exactly where we were meant to be. Friendly, helpful, and welcoming staff. The smell of this fabulous smokehouse was promising upon entry. It didn't disappoint. Ample on-site car parking, smoking area outside, garden, dog friendly bar area (water bowls and treats inside the entrance), cinema room for little people, good clean facilities, and you can see and hear the food being cooked. Once seated out waiter introduced themselves and brought popcorn and water for the table. Good menu options. We went with the 3am Mac n Cheese and Earl Grey tea and a half rack of ribs with fries and an alcoholic slushy for grown-ups. We skipped starters and were too full for afters! There is no need to tip. It's included in the bill. So do be mindful. Very enjoyable experience, and we would definitely go again.
Willow T — Google review
First time visiting a Hickory's and for the most part it was a great experience. The layout and vibe was spot on for the theme they're aiming for, and the staff in particular were very attentive and hard-working. The shrimp starter was a bit of an unusual mix and probably wouldn't have it again, but the huge burger and the beef rib were both fantastic. The biggest let down was the sodas, which tasted of very little and felt like paying just shy of £5 for a mug of icy water. Would happily come again, though, and just avoid the bits that didn't quite hit the mark the next time. Oh and the popcorn style complimentary nibble at the beginning - they're very moreish! Well done, guys.

Never been here before and didn't know what to expect. Did not expect the huge portions for one! We ordered chicken wings and garlic pretzel bites for starters, and the platter for 2 for our main. Also onion rings and mac and cheese for side. Disclaimer- you do not need sides with the platter. Omg. Food for days! All meats fall apart and cooked really really well. Everything delicious. Not a fan of the corn bread though. Tasted sweet but each to their own. Paid 105 for everything. Definitely recommend the blueberry lemonade too. 10/10 will be going back

Quite a disappointment here for a meal we had over the weekend. I got the meat skewer and it was all quite dry and not much flavour. Very small portion size for the price too I thought. Wouldn't come back im sure there are other places to get better food.

Great portion sizes, decent prices, and served in a laid-back American smokehouse vibe. The milkshakes and cocktails are also a treat, and there’s a real attention to detail in the decor too. Highly recommended whether you’re after lunch, dinner, or just drinks & snacks!

Roberto's Italian is a vibrant and modern restaurant known for its relaxed atmosphere and intimate terrace seating. The award-winning eatery offers a fresh-to-order menu featuring thin, crispy pizzas and generously sized fillet steaks made with locally sourced ingredients. With space for up to 120 diners, the restaurant overlooks the seafront on Ocean Plaza, providing an ideal setting for an intimate candlelit dinner or a quick bite before catching a movie or going bowling nearby.
Absolutely outstanding! The food dishes were an explosion of flavors, perfectly cooked, and exquisitely presented - each plate a true masterpiece showcasing exceptional culinary skill. The staff were beyond amazing - attentive, warm, and highly professional, ensuring every detail was handled with care. Great place for a family get together or a lovely meal with friends. Very warm and welcoming staff, great service and great food. This is a 5-star destination that sets the standard for excellence!

I’ve been here a few times and it’s always been quiet nice. The food was always good and the service has always been spot on. So when I was looking for somewhere to take my family on boxing night, this seemed a good choice. There were 8 of us in total and pretty much everyone didn’t enjoy their food, but myself and my niece (who the person serving us kept referring to a ‘him’) ordered mushrooms. The mushrooms were basically those ones you get in a bag from Iceland, and when they arrived they were frozen in the middle. As way of apology they upgraded my small wine to a large, but I was driving so I couldn’t drink it anyway. But I appreciated the gesture. For the second course, myself and my partner ordered the prawns wrapped in prosciutto. They were truly the most disgusting prawns I’ve ever had. They smelt pungent and tasted like you were licking a cold dead fish straight out the ocean. My partner will literally eat anything, and even he couldn’t stomach them. Upon them asking how the meal was, we replied politely with the fact that we were not enjoying the prawns and they had a strange taste to them. If I’m honest, I was worried they weren’t fresh and they’d make me ill, because the smell was that bad. When the bill arrived I went to speak to a manager in the hope we could get some money taken off as the prawns were £22 a pop and we’d each only eaten two off the plate, So we’re talking £44 in total. The staff were so incredibly rude, and told me that everyone else loves the prawns. I mentioned that both my starter (the mushrooms) and the prawns had really been very disappointing, but they simply said they’d upgraded my drink and I should be happy, and that the chef had said the mushrooms weren't frozen in the middle (I mean, of course we’d make that up wouldn’t we! It’s enjoyable watching everyone else eat while you wait for your starters to be recooked). When I asked to speak to the manager they said they didn’t have a manager on, they were all managers. I said who is the most senior person here, to which they presented me with a rather terrified looking 20 year old. They eventually took off the prawns, and the starters, which I was grateful for and tipped the ‘manager’ £10 for sorting it out, eventually, although on reflection he carried on arguing with me until I actually left, so maybe I should have kept my money. Despite finally getting some resolution, it was a nightmare and highly embarrassing. I won’t be visiting again, and honestly I’m starting to see why the place is always empty! I never write bad reviews, but I feel it’s important to warn people about this place, and it’s a real shame. We can’t always get things right, but customer service is paramount when you don’t. Unfortunately, Roberto’s failed in both the food and service on this occasion.

My partner and I experienced unsatisfactory service and subpar cuisine at a recent dining establishment. The £70 meal, seemingly prepared using an air fryer, lacked quality and flavor. The calamari was bland, and the main courses were unappetizing. The pasta was particularly flavorless, requiring excessive salt to be palatable. Furthermore, the service was inattentive and excessively noisy, with unacceptable wait times. Based on this experience, I strongly advise against patronizing this restaurant; Southport offers superior alternatives.

What an amazing restaurant! We have been here a few times, the service is always amazing and so is the food. The atmosphere is like no other, and especially because it is a family run restaurant. The food was the real star. Every dish was bursting with flavor, from the perfectly cooked pasta to the indulgent desserts. If you’re looking for a fantastic Italian dining experience Roberto’s is the right place. Lots of thanks to our young man waiter who was fabulous. Can’t wait to go back!

Food was great, but the service was super slow and simply not good! We booked a table for 5:30, hoping to get food close to my baby’s usual dinner time of 6pm (we’re not crazy dogmatic, a bit later is fine, but we wanted to be in the ballpark). We didn’t get our order taken until 6:10 (!) and then when I asked for the baby portion to come asap, I was told that could only happen if we got our garlic bread brought as a starter with it (which we’d wanted on the side of our mains)… the waiter said it needed to be things together. Never heard of that but ok! Finally baby’s food came (18:30 or so) and it was very good! Our mains (for the adults) only arrived around 7pm and were brought out one by one, which was a bit odd. Again, really really good, but by this point it had been ridiculously slow. There were lots of smaller service mishaps in between - forgetting to bring water, trying to clear plates which were clearly still being eaten from, etc etc. just very poor. Luckily the food was great 👍🏻 I wouldn’t recommend and Roberto’s need to really train the waiting team better! Also, music was too loud which killed the atmosphere.

The Imperial Hotel Blackpool is a stately seafront property with classic rooms and suites, upscale dining, and a health club. Situated on the quieter North Promenade, this historic hotel has welcomed famous guests like Charles Dickens, The Beatles, and Winston Churchill since its opening in 1867. With Victorian charm and modern comforts, the hotel offers traditional decor in bedrooms and elegant function rooms for dining.
Had an overnight stay here a couple of weeks ago with my family consisting of 2 adults and 2 kids. We stayed in a family suite that was clean and tidy. Yes it was probably deemed old/dated but it was in character with the age of the building. The staff were all friendly and professional that we came into contact with. The gentleman called Chris who worked in the decadence was particularly pleasant. We opted for the evening meal which was all presented nicely and all meals were to a good standard. They were good value for money along with the breakfast in the morning. The evening entertainment was just off the hotel bar in a fabulous room with lots of original features. The singers were good enough to be entertained. There is also a games room with some arcade games and a pool table adjacent to the entertainment hall. Naturally, you have to pay to use them but it's a good facility to have when the kids are not fussed about the singers. All in all, an enjoyable stay and I would stop here again.

It was good, but it could have been much better. The lobby is incredibly cozy, and just as you step into your room you get really disappointed. It was extremely hot, and you couldn’t turn it down – there was only a fan. The view was nothing to brag about, but it was okay. There were holes in the bathroom wall, but manageable. Cleaning was very inconsistent – sometimes they cleaned thoroughly, other times they only made the bed. For example, we even found underwear and an empty beer bottle in the drawers. Despite all that, the food was really good, especially dinner. And the hotel itself is very beautiful, and the staff were very kind. We did have some issues with our key card, but they fixed it quickly. You can get a perfect sea view if you get one of the good rooms. I’m super happy I went, because the food was so good.

Stayed for three nights bed and breakfast, on arrival was checked in by Tristan, very polite and capable, all went smoothly. Our room was a twin, small but very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was very organised and plentiful lots of choices. Lovely bar and staff very cheerful and friendly. The hotel has various lounges which are quiet and roomy, lovely for an evening drink looking out on the sea front. Would definitely recommend 😁

The Hotel was beautiful and had that old-fashioned vintage appeal, as if you've stepped back in time. The receptionist Nicky/Nikki was warm and inviting and informed us of facilities, amenities and the evening's performances held in the stage hall. The room was large and clean with a comfortable enough bed. The shower was a little old fashioned but still worked efficiently. For the price of the room, it was an enjoyable and comfortable stay. The only thing I feel I should mention is the price of food and drink at the bar. For a can of redbull and a double Captain Morgans & coke, it came to £14.65. That's expensive, even in London. Otber than that, we had a lovely time.

Location is about 10 min walk North of the tower, which is ideal as it's quieter than down on the golden mile. Parking was ok, initially looked full but then found several spaces to the right side of the hotel. Noted though that after 330pm there were no parking spaces left. As a lot of people have said, the check in is slow. Two staff at the weekend is not nearly enough and could have gotten our weekend off to a terrible start. Hotel is very Grande, but tired. The carpet in public areas was threadbear in places (quiet room to the right of reception with pictures of the celebrity guests). The room was nice and clean and the bathroom was tidy. The breakfast was standard buffet, £10 each whoch was good value. We went about 830am before the rush and noticed the queues as we were leaving, but the staff in the dining area were very efficient. Breakfast had plenty of choice, hot English and cold continental, plus the cereals and juices you would expect. Tea/coffee was table service which actually worked well. Checkout was easy. Overall let down by check in, otherwise it would have had 4 stars.

Loved the history of this beautiful hotel the staff are friendly . We picked a small room but it was super cosy with nice warm radiator. The only thing i didn't like but this is to be expected is the noise the doors make when people bang them shut😀 but yes nice place. Can't comment on the food as we had room only

Although the weather wasn't that nice, this hotel was , The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The atmosphere was good. Nice drinks and good entertainment in the night. I stayed for breakfast and evening meal which was really nice. We had a choice. Of starters mean meal and pudding to finish. The rooms were tidy and clean. There was a television in the room and they were all ensuite. As stated before, the trams stopped right outside and so did buses but you could walk to the entertainment if you wanted to. If going to Blackpool again I would have no hesitation than to stay in this hotel.

The service was very professional and the location is perfect for Blackpool beach front. The buffet breakfast was tasty and still surprisingly (and happily) hot for it being 9am. The rooms are very spacious as it's an old style hotel. The only negative being that the rooms are very tired looking and a bit too warm. They definitely need fans during the summer weather.

I’m writing this review a month later. The memories of Kalash resto still linger on our minds. During our time at Southport my husband & I decided to dine at Kalash, absolutely loved our experience here. The food was amazing but what truly made it special was our server, Rohit Singh. His warm hospitality and kind demeanour made us feel right at home. Rohit went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. His attentive service and genuine care added a personal touch to our meal. We visited Kalash twice the same week, ended our meal with the delicious Gajar ka Halwa (Carrot Pudding). Highly recommend Rohit for his exceptional service.

This is the best restaurant we have been to for Indian themed food. The staff are superb; the food really top class, and I mean that. Delicious food, nice surroundings, and a relaxed atmosphere. We're from Glasgow, used to curries, but Kailash beats them all. Book a table and get yourself here! Mild to spicy - they have it all.

The food and service here was really excellent. We were a large group of 18, and they took really good care of us. We had pre-ordered a menu beforehand, which was approx £23 per head, and we enjoyed so much delicious food that was really beautifully presented. There were really good amounts of meat which was very tasty, succulent chicken breasts, and overall it felt really healthy and not greasy. It was incredibly good value, and we left absolutely stuffed. There were a range of curries which were very flavoursome - quite spicy for some of us, but excellent nonetheless. The staff were very efficient and were on hand for more drinks and food - so we were never left with empty glasses. An exceptional experience and a brilliant evening.

What can I say, having eaten Indian food in 15 countries including India/Nepal (for 4 months) this was excellent. Spicy, tasty butter chicken, paneer lush and the mix of flavour really impressed. Very creamy ghee, butter and cream abound. Garlic naan, simply the best I have ever had. Like a tandoor cooked Napolerana Pizza.. Service was 5 star. Good value and real quality for the price. Highly recommended 🙏👍❤️

Nestled in the charming area of Churchtown, The Grapevine Restaurant and wine bar is a delightful culinary destination that caters to a variety of palates. With an extensive menu featuring everything from tapas to hearty mains, desserts, and even coffee, there's something for everyone. Guests rave about the incredible selection; many have enjoyed the tapas offerings or opted for lighter bites that are anything but small!
We had a lovely lunch at the Grapevine today. The choice of menus and meals was incredible - the tapas menu was amazing! Opted for the ‘light bites’ menu instead but it definitely wasn’t a ‘light bite’! Goats cheese salad was divine, the pulled pork wraps were full to bursting and my son loved his ‘children’s meal’ which would easily have fed an adult. Fabulous service and atmosphere too - a gem of a place!

First time visit to The Grapevine, won't be the last. When we arrived the waitress explained that a delivery had just arrived for the kitchen so would be a 10 minute wait for the order to go in. That in itself gave the restaurant a star 🌟 When the food came out we heard the chef say to the waitress give them my apologies for the wait. Thank you Mike. Another star 🌟 Personally I would not have cared how long the wait was as the food was absolutely delicious. Fantastic food, great service What more could you ask for 5 stars 🌟 is not enough but the most it will let me give

Villaggio Cucina is a charming restaurant located in the heart of Birkdale village, offering a delightful Italian dining experience. The restaurant prides itself on using seasonal produce to create traditional Italian dishes such as pasta, pizza, and bread. Guests can enjoy al fresco dining on sunny days with pavement seating while savoring classic Italian cuisine made with fresh ingredients. The menu features an array of carefully selected Italian wines to complement the flavorful meals.
Me, my wife and our extended family, have been going to Villaggio Cucina consistently for many years. Me and my wife have watched it grow into the best independent Italian in the area. Once again last nights meal did not disappoint. Greeted with a large smile, we had cocktails and starters (King Prawns) outside in the sun. We then moved inside to enjoy our main courses due to the oncoming thunderstorm. My wife had the Chicken Caesar salad, she swears by it everytime (believe me, she’s eaten a lot of salads). Myself I had the stuffed chicken breast and swapped the mash out for chunky chips, it was all delicious. When considering the stress and strain of running a small business in the current climate, it never spills into the service. No issue is too much and a quick chat always solves everything. If you’re looking for an example of what hard work gets you, then look no further than Villaggio Cucina.

Villaggio Cucina is a classic spot in the heart of birkdale village, serving beautiful Italian cuisine. The food here is exceptional, and remains true to traditional Italian options despite being pretty huge. Everything we had was of incredible quality, and I was sorry to not have room to finish it! The only slight issue was that the pizza I chose wasn't marked as spicy but most definitely was! But thankfully it was also delicious. There is a good selection of drinks, and especially wines, all at a reasonable price. The service is pretty hit and miss. We were served by at least 4 different people, a lack of continuity which produced predictable problems. At the end of the night, after waiting for a long time to pay our bill, we eventually went up to the counter and paid so we could leave. This may seem minor, but this has happened multiple times here and leads to you feeling forgotten about, which isn't a great way to end the night. The venue itself is well decorated, and on quieter nights is a great place to be. However, on a Saturday night when the place is full, the acoustics are awful. It is INCREDIBLY loud, to the point where you can barely hear people across the table from you. Unfortunately this means I'd advise not going here on a weekend if you want to have a good conversation, at least until they put some noise dampening or something in place. In the end, the food makes up for everything. I'd happily go back in a heart beat, but only on quieter days of the week.

Popped in on a lovely, sunny Saturday afternoon on the offchance they'd have a table free as we hadn't booked. They did and we chose to sit inside (lovely outdoor area, but we felt like sitting in). Staff lovely and friendly and there was no long wait to get the first drink in which was great. The food we ordered was really good, especially the pea and ham soup for starters and I had smoked haddock risotto with a poached egg which was yum. My son had the fillet steak which he loved as it was cooked to perfection (medium and it did look lovely ) I can't wait to go back again.

Had some brilliant food here with my fiancé, we entered the restaurant through a nice, heavy posh curtain which I have noticed seems to be a nice touch in nicer restaurants that like to make you feel more relaxed and not constantly sitting near a drafty door. We was greeted by wonder staff, who all acknowledged us,we was informed of the anything we needed to know with the days menus and special. Service was brilliant, well presented food, and the waiting staff don’t ask you if your enjoying your food when you have a mouth full(always gets to me that) but the staff are considerate as thoughtful. The food was brilliantly presented as you can see and well worth the money. So much flavour. Highly recommended place to dine, fine dine, quick lunch or for date nights. We will return soon definitely. Thank you for a lovely meal and a great service.

The Food, the staff and the ambience of Villaggio Cucina was excellent. When we arrived the staff were very attentive and polite, we were quickly shown to our table then our drinks order was taken and we were given a menu each. After a short while our drinks were brought over, as we couldn't decide what to have the waitress who brought our drinks noticed this and offered to explain what was in each dish, the portion size and the variations available. After ordering the food soon arrived I had ordered a mushroom tart it was very tasty, the texture of the light slightly crispy pastry was lovely along with the presentation of the meal I had I felt (with the waitresses help) made a hood choice. My daughter opted for sea bass this again was cooked to perfection. My partner opted for a pasta dish, again cooked to perfection and a rather large portion! To end the evening as it was my daughters birthday the waitress, other staff and some of the dinners sang happy birth to her as a cake with a lit candle was brought out. Highly recommended.
Paul W — Google review
The food was tasty and flavourful and the only thing that lets this restaurant down is the really slow service. The waiters are like snails and it seems that they ignore you and you have to wait at least 10 minutes for someone to come and offer drinks and most of the other time you need to ask a waiter to order anything which was quite disappointing.

Had a great meal here for our first anniversary and it was amazing, yes the restaurant was busy and loud but it was the Saturday before Valentine’s Day. The food came quick and was absolutely amazing I will definitely be coming back for the gnocchi my GF had. P.s I don’t know what playlist they had on but it was a belter of a playlist.

Called in here ad hoc, 1st visit, not checked any reviews, so took a chance. It turned out to be a good choice. Very friendly greeting as we arrived, and accommodated us at short notice. They were up-front about having to vacate the table by 7.15pm so we all knew where we stood, we were happy with this as they were good enough to accommodate us. The serving staff were very attentive & polite, "sir" & "madam"and exuded professionalism without being condescending or pompous. Simply decorated but a relaxed vibe, appropriate and subtle background music that was pitched just-right in taste and volume, so not detrimental to conversation, perfect. Italian restaurants are not on my favorite list as it is usually boring pasta dishes which all taste the same, or pizza (which is my least enjoyed meal). What a refreshing surprise this restaurant was. Lots to choose from that wasn't typical itialian' esk fayre so there was something for everyone, even vegetarians & vegans. My partner (who chose this restaurant) had a pizza, I chose a gorganzola salad. She tells me that the pizza (thin crust) was very enjoyable, and to be fair, looked it to me. I have to say that I just don't know how this place managed to make a salad so tasty! It was exquisite. It incorporated many complementary flavours and textures that made what can be perceived as a bland meal into something extrordinarily spectacular. In corporating pear, walnuts and an unoffensive dressing, tomato's, it was super fresh, very enjoyable & super tasty, one of the best salads I have eaten in a restaurant, by far. Traditional Italian deserts finished off the meal, together with a lovely coffee. I cannot fault this place at all staff, ambiance, food presentation, food quality all were perfect as far as I am concerned. I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant based upon my experience and will certainly be returning.

While some have enjoyed the beautifully presented food and friendly staff, others have noted issues with service, such as inexperienced staff and limited non-alcoholic drink options.
Amazing place! Great service, really fresh cocktails and the food was quality. Atmosphere was great, place was filled with people but enough space between other tables to not feel cramped. Menu has plenty of variety, you get what you pay for. Portion sizes are great and the food got better with each bite. Starters I would recommend are the garlic bread & balls of fire, enough to share and get you ready for the mains. Will definitely be making a return soon!

Tucked away on one of the backstreets of Southport is this absolutely amazing place. The decor is beautiful, well planned and layed out. The staff were fantastic, lovely warm greeting, hugely professional and had good knowledge of the food they were serving. The food was delicious Starter: I had the black and blue mushrooms sauce was lovely and creamy perfectly balanced cheeses weren't over powering at all. Main: I had the fillet steak hanging kebab and to be honest it could have fed us bothe the serving is that generous. Steak was lovely and tender, Very nicely seasoned. This came with salad, skin on fries and garlic flatbread. Hubby to be had tempura king prawn tacos to start and the surf and turf which was 5oz fillet steak with half a lobster Considering both plates were empty I can safely say his food was spot on too. Sides we shared a cheesy garlic bread and some wild mushrooms and he had the grilled bone marrow to himself ( not my cup of tea) All in all hugely impressed by this place food was absolutely amazing. I'd never visited Southport before December 7th and I decided to go here with a close friend to celebrate my birthday and although we didn't have a reservation at The Firepit, lovely staff provided a table for us with no problems at all. A few hours later after the most superb steak meal we'd ever had, and getting to know the very warm and approachable staff in the building, lots of laughs and a wonderful experience means that we are looking forward to dining here again in the near future as it's a fantastic restaurant. Check out Mike's cocktails upstairs, he's not only talented but great to talk to too, along with others who work there. They're down to earth, a good laugh and they make your evening something special and memorable. Five stars and top marks from me. The Firepit deserves it.

My bf had a steak which is served on a hot stone and can he cooked to individual preference...I ordered a cheese burger and chips from the children's menu as I'm trying to loose a few 💷... Both meals were delicious, 2 cocktails and 2 beers later the bill came to £60, a little pricey in my opinion but enjoyed the evening and would go again 🥂🎉

Gusto Trattoria is a modern bistro located on Lord Street, offering a contemporary twist on traditional Italian dishes. The restaurant features a cozy main dining room and an outdoor patio, making it suitable for year-round dining. The menu includes reinvented Italian classics and daily specials, with highlights such as Conchiglie del Mare, freshly baked pizzas, and homemade tiramisu. Guests can enjoy international wines in the sophisticated dining room or on the sun-drenched patio.
Simply superb. I literally stumbled across Gusto whilst walking the English Coast Path last Sunday. Despite it being Mothers day and without a reservation, the staff found me a seat. The menu covers most tastes and the chef will add a bit of 'heat' if you'd like the dish spicing up. I settled on the Conchiglie del Mare, a selection of fresh muscles and prawns in a creamy garlic and tomato sauce. The fresh ingredients and flavours brought out an authentic taste of the Italian coast - indeed I can say with confidence that it was better than most meals I've had in Italy! Incredible food, flawless service and a great feel to the place.

*Updated Review* So we finally went back to Gusto after hearing they had new owners. I'd been craving a good seafood pizza for a while, and Mrs FtB wanted a good antipasti platter, so we decided to pop down to Gusto again as the food previously was fantastic, they lost points on service, but that was the inept former manager... Who preferred to watch his waiting staff struggle with a busy restaurant as opposed to helping them. Anyway, I digress, we walked in without a booking around 8pm, there were a few people in which created a nice, lively atmosphere. We were shown to a table for 2 initially but I like a bigger table as we tend to order a decent amount so the waitress suggested. Table for 4 Infront of the kitchen... Yes please! Give me a show! Our drinks arrived quickly, opting for a bottle of red (can't recall which) and some water. We opted for some garlic bread, the antipasti platter and the seafood pizza with pancetta added. The food didn't take too long to arrive, and when it did I remembered why I'd been craving a return. The antipasti was loaded with meats, seafood, various veggies and cheese and could easily be a main course, the garlic bread was perfectly cooked, nice and crispy and very garlicky but the star of the show was the seafood pizza. Heaps of garlic prawns, mussels and calamari ensuring every slice had a bit of everything, perfect base, perfect crust, just faultless. I can't recall what we had for desert, but know it was bloody good as Mrs FtB had to almost roll me out of the restaurant. Overall zero issues, great food, lovely restaurant, fantastic service. 10/10

My boyfriend and I go here very often, it’s our favourite restaurant. We first went here a year ago and found it because we turned vegan and they have a whole vegan menu which is just fantastic for us. The food is of such high quality, we’ve never had better Italian food. And we couldn’t believe how great the vegan cheese was. We’ve tried vegan pizza’s at other restaurants, but they were almost inedible because of the awful vegan chemical cheese that doesn’t even melt properly and taste of nachos. But the vegan cheese in this restaurant is just superior, I like it even more than real cheese and it leaves us amazed everytime. Going to this restaurant has become a little ritual of ours, and we’d be truly heartbroken if it ever was to close! This restaurant is perfect for us and we love it dearly. The only thing it could improve on in my opinion is if they would add a few vegan desserts to the menu, at least one so vegan people have the option of getting a vegan dessert after their meal, too. I heard other vegan people in the restauarnt asking about it before, I think it would be really good. But this is only a little thing that could simply make it even more perfect for us!

This is a great little Trattoria. There is plenty of choice on the menu, without it being so extensive that quality is difficult to maintain. I had the mushroom pasta and they were happy for me to choose a different pasta to the one listed. It tasted lovely. The staff are friendly and attentive without being in your face and the prices are reasonable. Definitely recommended.

Lovely meal. Fancied a change from usual stuff. Shared a garlic bread AL POMODORO £6.95 then had meatballs POLPETTE AL SUGO £13.45 and seafood pasta CONCHIGLIE DEL MAR £15.95. Note that the prices on the website are out of date, garlic bread up £1 pasta up £1 each. Great food hot, good quality. Just thought £2.75 for a can of coke was a bit pricey which pushed up the price of the final bill but you're sat inside and you get a glass. Yes would recommend this place but there are loads more Italian restaurants around town so would try a different one next time to compare.

Pros - Lovely little restaurant with a nice atmosphere. The meatball starter is brilliant I would highly recommend it! Cons- The bigger roast potatoes were a bit hard in the middle ,our orange san pellegrinos obv didnt come out the fridge and where served with no ice on a hot day. The bathrooms are in need of a little bit of redecoration and tlc All in all I would still recommend.

Pizzeria Mamma Mia is a family-friendly restaurant that has been serving authentic Italian cuisine with a Sardinian twist for over 30 years. The cozy atmosphere and delicious cooking using natural ingredients make it a great place to enjoy a meal. They offer options for vegans, vegetarians, and those with gluten-free dietary requirements.
Visited for the first time last night, and the food was amazing! Every dish was spot on! Compliments to the chefs and waiters. We'll definitely be back.

Visited for a meal on new year's eve with some family and the food was well worth it. Understandably busy but the staff did great and we had a lovely end to the year.

My family, friends and i have been coming to Mama Mia’s for many years and with the food and service we have never been disappointed. Sadly however we will have to find an alternative as there are no accessible toilets and since my husbands stroke they are a must. Come on Mama Mia’s don’t get left behind on the wrong side of UK Law and get some fitted so we can continue to enjoy your fabulous restaurant !

My first visit here, although it's been around for very many years apparently. The food was delicious and the atmosphere very relaxed. The service was very friendly and prompt. As with many restaurants with few soft furnishings, it can be a little noisy, although that does depend on your fellow diners. Edit: I've changed my review from a five to a two. As we liked it so much the first time, we went back at the weekend. It was busy, which is fine, but the noise was unbearable. It was impossible to have a pleasant conversation. We had to shout at each other. It resulted in a headache and I was relieved to leave the place. They desperately need some soft-furnishings! The food was tasty again, although the presentation of my main dish was terrible; it looked like it had been thrown on the plate from a distance. A great pity, but we won't be going back.

Bad experience, they need a lesson in customer service, 3 members of staff all lacking. My sons steak not too good, I would say a third of it inedible as pure fat, I told a member of staff who just shrugged his shoulders, I then told the manager who said "what do you want me to do about it" I did not realise he was the manager until much later, i was still annoyed so I went up to him and said as a gesture of goodwill perhaps a free desert, he said he would have to ask the boss, no one came back to us to ask if we wanted a desert, didn't even offer black pepper or parmesan for main, had to get the black pepper myself, the bill came and I was charged for the desert, I had to then explain how customer service works and what you should say to a displeased customer, the mood around the table was affected, it was a birthday celebration, I could go on but I think that's enough. I have been going there for over 30 years, left lots of good reviews, I will never return, was meant to be going there next month with my friend who I introduced to the place, I will find an alternative!

Absolutely amazing experience. I went for a birthday meal and it was one of the best meals I have ever had. The service was amazing and exactly what you would expect the atmosphere was amazing and the food was even better. Would most deffo recommend.

I'm afraid this restaurant destroyed its great reputation last night. The food was excellent as usual but they were over booked massively. and the service suffered as a result. We'd booked well in advance but were kept waiting by the door for 25 mins, and then waited for drinks/food for over an hour. The bill was wrong and the toilets awash. We've been going there for years but after last night...I don't think so.

Food is amazing!!! This is the second time I come here and always leave with a satisfaction. Steak here is fabulous, I tried both Rossinie and Diane! Both are excellent! Staff are nice, vibe is lovely! Great place to hang out with friends or family. I understand why the previous comment complained about the services. It is probably too crowded, place is quite small, and there are just two people run the tables. But for the price and the value of the food, I think it's worth it! Toilet is in the second floor, but clean and nice! I will come back again to try the pizza!

"The Shamraat" is a long-standing Indian restaurant located just off the main streets of Southport. Despite being slightly hidden, it offers a vast underground space for dining. Specializing in tandoori dishes cooked in a clay oven, this traditional curry house has received praise for its excellent food and top-notch service.

I loved it here, the food is fantastic. The chef/owner is clearly passionate about ingredients & the food. He made the effort to speak to all guests & cater for any personal menu requirements. We opted for the taster menu & every dish was delicious. We also had 2 bottles of house wine & after dinner drinks. The restaurant itself is tastefully decorated. Highly recommended if you want something a little more special, well worth it.

Nobody cares that his customers enjoy themselves as much as Paulo. Nothing is too much trouble for him. His food is always amazing, cooked with real passion and the combinations are such that you will not get anywhere else. And if you find anything particularly delicious, just ask for more and he will look after you. The staff are always great, friendly and attentive, but even so Paulo will make a personal visit to your table to make sure everything is perfect. Twelve is a real hidden gem in Southport. Went to this place originally because of the wagyu beef mention, but wanted to try other options first to see what the place was like and it did not disappoint. Paulo is friendly and calm, very kind and able to answer questions on the dish, make recommendations without pushing them on you, allowing you plenty of time to choose and offering substitutions if there are things you are not happy about. It feels like you are at home and just being cooked food by family, with choices you can make to make the experience nicer. The trio starter is wonderful, I dislike mustard with a passion and even I loved the sweet mustard sauce that goes with the black pudding fritter (Morcela) which was so very soft on the inside and so very satisfying to bite through on the outside, the the trout was wonderful, like having a fish pie in bite form so tasty and almost creamy inside with a lovely outside to it, there was a smoked sausage as well which was wonderfully smoked and savoury The chilli beef with fried rice is amazing as well, so very crispy outside, with the softest beef I have ever had on the inside, very generous portion of beef, so lovely and sticky and very deep almost caramel flavour sauce. The rice was also lovely deep soy sauce flavours, with lots of little vegetables in them. The Nata was unlike anything I have ever had before, with the puff pastry, and Chantilly cream which was very nice. The Nata had almost fully liquid hot custard inside, with the flakiest crispest pastry I have ever had, so satisfying (next time I will have to try the other kind which has choux pastry instead), very rare to see dairy free ice cream which was very tasty. my partner and I had a white port (which I didn't know was a thing) which was amazingly sweet almost like mead, and a custard tart shot of something which was like liquid alcohol custard with cinnamon on, like a fancy eggnog but really tasty. Paulo and the new server who did really well on a first day checked in on us throughout and talked about Portugal, but did not at any point feel like he was standing over us or speeding us up. Everything was relaxed, and the music is inoffensive. The place looks great and the seats are very comfortable (we sat in the black plastic seats which from pictures looks like they might not be but they were very nice to sit in for more than 2 hours) Also, there are like 3 or 4 pokestops for pokemon go at this location which is nice.
Tor H — Google review
Well that was amazing! We had just the nicest meal tonight and I heartily recommend this place. The atmosphere is very very laid back. Paulo is such a friendly man and very laid back in his approach to customers. He doesn't try and rush you through the food, we sat for nearly three hours and, while I admit it wasn't busy, there was no sense of us taking up room, unlike other restaurants. The dress code is casual (you're fine in jeans and a t-shirt) and there is parking (on street) which is free after 6pm (I think). Now the food - gorgeous. Everything was fresh, well cooked, and extremely tasty. I had the Portuguese Trio, chicken teriyaki with fried garlic rice and then an almond tarte (with almond liqueur over) and dairy free ice-cream to finish. The trio was excellent - greens perfectly cooked, tasty balance of flavours and textures. It's not a big starter, but every individual morsel of the trio gives you a different experience: fishy, smoky, umami yet sweet. The main of chicken was one of the most moist chicken dishes I've ever eaten, the sauce was delicious and it wasn't just all rice with a bit of protein (see pictures). Finally, the almond tarte. It was like the stuff you get inside an almond croissant but at another softer, less sweet and processed level. I even enjoyed the dairy free ice cream (which my partner swore they couldn't tell it was dairy-free). We didn't have wine, but we did have a white port shot to start, which was amazing and sweet like a dessert wine, and a palette cleanser before the main course (neither were on our bill, both were offered). I really cannot praise this place and our host Paulo enough. It was a perfect evening for us - good food, good company, and a welcoming atmosphere.

This was our first visit here. I like the building; originally a bank, and now done up like an oversized garden shed, with greenery and tools on the walls. We went there for dinner and I found it a little noisy for my liking, although it was a Saturday night and busy with diners and drinkers, and they had a live entertainer - a Michael Bublé type, who was very good actually. I thought the food we had (steak/gammon steak) was overpriced, simple pub food, but I can't comment on the rest of the menu. The wine is also overpriced in my opinion. The service, however, was good. If you like a casual dining experience and don't mind a bit of noise?

WOW. WOW. WOW. Get ready for a long review. This place was AMAZING. We are staying in the apartment next door and everyone who stayed there has recommended this place. The best nachos I've ever had The best mushrooms I've ever had The best Oreo milkshake I've ever had The best chicken I've ever had! How? It's chicken? The portions are huge we would have loved a dessert but we were absolutely stuffed. That salad (photo 5) was a side salad!! The staff were all lovely, I'm gonna say it, the two young guys in the kitchen were f***ing hot! 🤣 All the decor inside is lovely and it has such a lovely ambience. Can't recommend it enough. Sangria was freshly made with a generous amount of fruit. Thought the prices were so reasonable! Early bird is £10.95 for 2 courses or £12.95 for 3 courses. Milkshakes £3.50. Jugs of Sangria £14.95.

Nice food - we had the set meal for £12.95 each. The portions were good, the food was tasty and the red sangria lovely -£20 for a good 2L pitcher. I would have preferred more Latina music to top off the nice venue. The waitresses were friendly. Main complaint is the restaurant needs to step up their tech. We had called beforehand to get meerkat meals, only to discover they don’t participate in the summer despite being advertised on the app as valid now (the restaurant was full - so wondering if they pick and choose their dates?) and when we got there, the prices of everything on the paper menu were a few quid more than the menu they still have on their own website. I accepted this but politely informed a member of staff after of this discrepancy. Response was that they don’t really use the website... as a courtesy to customers, please update the online menus or take them down if they’re not accurate.

Last minute decision to stay in Southport for dinner, booked us in no problem (had to wait an hr for the table, which was enough time to get the car and change beech clothes) 2 adults 2 teens, plenty of choice, fresh food, decent portion size - compared to our local Italian reasonably priced, staff polite and helpful, toilets clean and bright, lots of quirkiness to this restaurant, mixed music (not all Mexican) give this place a try... If you are a coriander hater, you shouldn’t come here as every dish has coriander in it and there is no sign on the menu for this. When I say “everything”, it includes the naan bread (we ordered cheese and onion but the amount of coriander was more than the other ingredients) and rice. When I told this to the waitress, she said “oooo you don’t like it, sorry!” and left but few minutes later she came to offer changing my keema rice to steam rice, which did not have coriander in it. Anyway, if you don’t have any problems with coriander you will like the food but otherwise it is not a good experience.

We go fairly regularly to this restaurant and always take our guests here, many of whom are unfamiliar with Nepalese food. The servers and service is friendly and helpful at explaining the various dishes to new customers. Food is absolutely delicious and varied so something for everyone. The lambchops starter is outstanding and I have it every visit.. Nice wine selection.. What's not to love..

We was recommended to try the Great Himalayas Nepalese Restaurant whilst staying in Southport and we were not disappointed as the food was amazing. The curries are spot on as you'd expect and are complemented well with the poppadoms and dips. They have a nice selection of wines too so are a good place to go if you are celebrating a special occasion or if you would just like to have a lovely authentic meal. Waiting staff service is great as they bring wine out in buckets on ice without being asked if you ask for a bottle of wine which a lot of restaurants may not do and ask customers their preferences. The atmosphere was nice, relaxed, welcoming and friendly. Would definitely go again.

Came on a Thursday 7pm time and it was rather busy but even so the staff were absolutely amazing. We booked to make sure as we had heard it gets incredibly busy. The food was served within time and oh my gosh every bit was just unreal!! We couldn’t get over how surreal it was. Highly recommend the lamb shank special as shown below. We will be coming back! The prices where also very reasonable 🖤

I recently visited Empire Restaurant, a Southeast Asian eatery, to celebrate my husband's birthday. The food was consistently outstanding, with each dish being served hot and beautifully presented. The staff were incredibly friendly and sociable, engaging in banter with us throughout the meal. We mentioned that it was my husband's birthday, and to our delight, the staff surprised us by bringing out a candlelit ice cream dessert while singing happy birthday. This thoughtful gesture truly made our experience extra special.
I had the Early Bird Special with some friends and it was delicious! The pork pring rolls are so juicy, then had the chicken friend rice which you can never go wrong with. To top it off, a lovely vanilla ice cream with a wafer. Very friendly and helpful staff and a favourite place to go.

Had the Early Bird lunch menu. The crisp chicken samosas were undeniably small but tasty. However the chicken and assorted veg curry was delicious - the rice came in its own container and there was plenty of curry and rice! Had the banana fritter to complete a very good value meal. The service was very attentive too - the food arrived hot which is always welcome! Thanks again!

The food was fresh and delicious. And as for the pineapple fritter 😱 omg a must.

My first visit while I was visiting family. A firm favourite for my family and they visit regularly. Can certainly see why, fantastic food, wonderful service from the staff. Lovely place and certainly enjoyed our family night. Empire Restaurant you were amazing.

No complaints about the food , we enjoyed everything. Although the starter did come before our drink order. Will go back as the food was really good.

The house special fried noodle is a good option for you to have all the ingredients into a single dish. Crispy noodle is highly recommended as you may find it interesting if you seldom have Chinese cuisine. For fried rice, I guess Yang Chow fried rice would be a better option if you are not an egg lover.
Egbert L — Google review
Visited on a recommendation. Food was good, on the buffet only chicken and pork meat dishes available the day we went, no beef etc. Although there was some prawn and vegetable dishes to choose from also. A fair range of food accompaniments to go with above dishes. Service was good. Staff were swift in removing empty used plates. Look forward trying here again.

Nostalgia Tea Rooms, located on the first floor overlooking Lord Street, offers a nostalgic ambiance with music from bygone eras. The menu features a variety of home-cooked delights, including soups, cream teas, light bites, main meals, and tempting desserts. All ingredients are locally sourced for freshness. Visitors can enjoy the quaint atmosphere and excellent cleanliness while savoring their tea and scones.
This is a lovely place to eat in Southport. If you are in the area definitely recommend it to others and visit yourself. Prices are more than reasonable, friendly staff, fresh food and it's very clean. The decoration is perfect.

Brilliant place to enjoy good food, at a reasonable price. The staff are friendly and efficient. The restaurant is spotless as are the toilets. We will certainly be going again when in the area.

Absolutely the best place to come and treat you and your family to something to eat morning or afternoon. Portions are massive, good produce used, decent prices, attention to detail, pretty views as is upstairs, worth the climb up.

Fantastic second visit. Afternoon tea was just amazing, scones to die for. Lovely decor and great service. Definitely worth viist

Come here last year and loved it come back this year the place has gone down the pan completely I mean what do you call a scone that crumbles into peaces and then ask for clotted cream and jam and hardly get anything on the plate and the scone not even being cut for you can get better where I am from will not be returning 👎

Absolute gem of a place! First visit and like the name suggests the surroundings are fab. Decor is quaint but opulent and staff are dressed to match the theme in vintage dress & apron. Service & food are excellent. Well worth a visit!

Absolutely fantastic, we had a great time. I have always wanted to go and our visit did not disappoint. This place has now become our first stop everytime we visit Southport. The food was delicious. Our server was attentive, kind and friendly. The prices are very reasonable to say the least. A big shout out goes out to all the staff, especially to the young trainee waitress who seemed to be rushed off her feet. She is very hard working and carries out the demanding role with diligence and a smile. See you all soon.

Had a lovely meal at Nostalgia today. The fish and chips is to die for and it's real fresh cod in beer batter. I could see lots of meals coming out of the kitchen so will definatly be coming back to try something else. The staff look after you and nothing is to much trouble.

Hideaway Cafe Bistro & Bar is a charming and elegant restaurant with beautiful decor, offering delicious and generous portions of food. The breakfast was described as the tastiest ever eaten, leaving the diners completely satisfied. The lunchtime experience featured friendly and efficient staff serving good, freshly cooked food that was well worth the short wait.
I went in as I passed the place on the way to a more well.known coffee shop. Thankfully I did. The place felt great, so relaxed and I was immediately greeted to let me sit anywhere free. I ordered a coffee whilst reading the menu. The coffee came and I was ready to order an avocado based breakfast. It came whilst the coffee was still warm. The presentation was superb, not like the packaged food in other places. The flavours and the cooked eggs were second to none. So glad I found this place and I will be back. They prefer cash, but I paid with card as I didn't have cash with me. Brilliant place. 2 coffees and a lovely plate of food.

It was a delightful experience. I ordered a bagel with smoked salmon, cream cheese, avocado, and fresh tomato slices. I appreciated that they were accommodating with my request to add avocado and opted for fresh tomato slices instead of roasted ones. The atmosphere was inviting and pleasant, and the food looked just as appetizing as the images I had seen online. The prices are reasonable—not too expensive but not too cheap either, making it a great value for the quality of food. The service was impressively fast, and the waiter was genuinely nice, treating every customer with kindness and attention. Overall, a fantastic spot that I would highly recommend!

So glad we found the Hideaway. Dog friendly so we could all enjoy a fabulous breakfast. Made to feel very welcome and decor has a really nice vibe. Kids loved it as well! Definitely recommend.

Gem of a place just off Lord Street. Cosey nicely decorated and very friendly welcomes. English breakfast was really excellent and perfectly cooked. Just back from overseas and could be wrong but it seemed a bit expensive for 1 bacon 1 sos 1 toast (and no hash brown😛) but - not complaining as I HIGHLY RECOMMEND and will be going back again!

The food here is absolutely amazing! This is my second time here now, both times I’ve had the Caesar salad. It is ever so slightly different than the first time, likely a different chef, however it was gorgeous! My boyfriend got the chicken and waffles, said it was incredible, one of the best he’s ever had. Staff are lovely and welcoming and the atmosphere is great! Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants a delicious meal.

Very pleasant experience. We had a coffee and latte which was well presented with a biscoff biscuit. Goldilocks - not a massive cup nor a tiny amount. I also had a carrot cake that was delicious and tasted incredibly fresh. They welcomed us with a dog but I wouldn't recommend taking a big one in, especially if they don't like sitting still. The price was reasonable for the type of place which was refreshing. I'd definitely go back.

Our regular drop in favourite when we come to Southport CAMC site. Really friendly and welcoming staff, sometimes a little wait is required as it can get busy. Dogs welcome which is a massive positive for us. Food……never had a bad meal/lunch/breakfast in here. The breakfasts are superb, freshly cooked so get in before 12pm. We’re sat here right now looking forward to our lunch. Highly recommend
