The best of Kauai both food, service, atmosphere. We both had the Mac Nut Herb Crusted Fish Monchong or Mukau, By Native Hawaiians. how ever it was spelled as that was the nearest pronunciation I can give. It came with the lemon butter burre blanc with capers. A rice pilaf that was light and tender with roasted carrots vert. Extra burr blanc sauce was nice and recommend by Courtney. I also ran the awesome salad bar that had cold lettuce, dressings, with many different salad offerings plus the best sweetest melons and pineapple. The pineapple was the best I had in two weeks on the Island.

Beautiful Atmosphere inside and outside, both downstairs and upstairs. Lots of tables overlooking the ocean, seeing the surfers in the daytime. The staff are wonderful and the food is delicious. Our server Keenan was an AMAZING EXCELLENT Server. He was on point with everything. Very attentive. The Prime Rib was wonderful. Every dish my party had was wonderful. Coconut shrimp was cooked to perfection and everything was served hot. The Hula pie is enough to share. The Live Music was enjoyable. The specialty drinks were good as well, but should have had more liquor in it.

As much as I would love to have givin 5 stars, I just can’t! I have eaten at Dukes on other islands and in California, so I was excited to eat here once again due to my previous experiences, which have always been good! First off, this place has an incredible atmosphere and views of the bay! That is awesome! The service was good! Super nice staff! The food however was average at best! The prime rib was good, but lacked seasoning! The filet mignon was average! It seemed like it was a sirloin cut, not a filet mignon. Now prof of what it really was, but it left little to be desired! This last experience will definitely make me thanks twice before coming back, especially due to the prices, vs quality! Hope this helps! We came for Sunday brunch. The food was amazing. My husband raved about the fish especially. The fried rice was delicious, more of a "dry" fried rice rather than sticky, which is my preference. The eggs benedict was really good, I was surprised that the yolks were still runny despite being a buffet setting. The waitress was very attentive, which again, I didn't expect for a buffet. My water glass was never empty, and I go through water quickly. There was also live music, which was really lovely. And they have a complimentary valet. We had reservations, but I don't think they were necessary. Probably during the summer months it would be.

This place had a large number of reviews and was highly rated and we understand why. The service is great (free valet included), food and drinks were delicious and reasonably priced, and the view is incredible! Having delicious food while staring out at a blue water bay was amazing!

My wife and I went here for our honeymoon dinner and they took great care of us. The Lobster Tails and Filet Mignon were phenomenal. I would definitely recommend getting a reservation in advance - it can be tough to get in. We will be coming to Dukes anytime we’re in Kauai.

My husband and I went to celebrate my birthday, on the recommendation of the hotel concierge, but it was a complete disappointment. The prices are outrageously high for the quality of the food. We ordered a dish for $40 and it was incredibly salty, even though it had coconut milk and rice; otherwise, it would have been inedible. The staff was generally unfriendly, just average. We told them we were celebrating my birthday, and they didn't do nothing. I really don't recommend it. Besides everything, the table we were sitting on was unstable and wobbly, and they did nothing to improve it. The only good thing about the place is the location; it's nicely decorated and right by the sea. But as for the food, the prices are exorbitant and the food is very mediocre. I don't recommend it.

super decent local chain to introduce ourselves to Kauai and the noodles were tasting very healthy and the spam as well. not like over hyped up American chains like it feels pretty authentic. it was just a lot of noodles so be ready for that. good start to the trip

Google maps gave great directions to find this spot. We flew in from HNL and got in around 2030 hours so was looking for a quick spot to eat. Found this place was open until 2130 hours so quickly headed to it from the airport which was a 5min. drive. Parked in the slanted stalls outside of the restaurant and walked in using their ADA ramp leading towards the front near the register. When you walk through their screen door, right away I get mom and pop shop kine feels. Super laid back, local, NO a/c so when we came in at night, i'm assuming that was cool for what it usually can be. It's open air jealousy windows. You don't have to check in at front, you just find an open spot on their counters where small brown stools are provided for you to sit on. The counters have all the amenities needed for this saimin shop. Once you take a seat, a server will come over and give you menus to start looking. They offer fountain drinks and can sodas as well. The server came took our orders and within 15min started to bring our food out to us. The broth was hot but not piping hot. The skewers were flavorful however a little on the tougher side and not as moist as I would have thought. Still very good. I ordered a medium saimin, 2 beef and 1 chicken skewer and that filled me up just right. Came out to $20.75. ( I only had water)) The bathroom is a single for all to use and was clean. Since it is open air and windows are open as well there was not a strong smell. The building is smaller and gives plantation home vibes. Cute spot for some ono saimin. Broth was nice and smooth, not being too salty, which I was surprised since we came closer to closing so I would have thought we would be getting the bottom of the pot. Didn't get to try to pie, but did get almond cookies to finish and that was really ono too!

Delicious bowls of noodles and fast service. Small place but turnover is fast if needed. Don’t forget to try something on a stick and I really likes the pork and wontons in my Specialty Saimin. Important- Cash only!!!!

We may have too high expectations but the food is not as good as expected. Too less servers to make it a long queue. Fried oyster is good. Wonton is not good.

My boyfriend and I went here straight from the airport and it was the best idea ever. The place is cozy and casual, and the food was filling, comforting, and nourishing! We both got the special saimen and loved it. Their banana bread and pie are also notable mentions, although definitely eat the pie there since it’s so light it collapses after a car ride (still delicious!). Overall great atmosphere, kind staff, and delicious food.

Saimin is a local food that may be mostly appreciated if you grew up eating it. Menu is simple. You go there because you are craving saimin. First timers may not understand the nostalgia esp the dated feel of the place. The non smiling workers can make you feel downright uncomfortable (as my first timer friends did). But I just loved seeing families slurping the noodles as the steam escaped from their bowls. You go in, find a stool at the counter, quickly decide what you want and order. Payment is cash only.

Keep in mind this is a CASH ONLY establishment, but our only regret is that we didn't have more cash on hand to get more food because the udon noodles were delicious and the shrimp tempura was perfectly crispy! It was all very fairly priced, but we were cash strapped at the time. It's a nice small communal feeling inside and you can see them cooking 10 feet away in the kitchen and seems family owned. Definitely recommend this place

We have been going to Portofino for many years, starting when it was located across the street from its current location. It is one of the must stop dining locations for us. The owner is always pleasant, the service is good, the food better than average, and a spectacular view. All the outer tables have a wonderful view of the water, it is peaceful and relaxing. Because it is open, it is relatively quiet. The pricing is comparable to other top restaurants. All seem a bit high, especially for desserts and drinks. It is best to make a reservation. Plan on arriving a bit early because finding a parking spot may be a challenge.

Ordered the Miata salad minestrone soup and garlic bread to go it was disgusting! The soup was watered down chicken broth with oil and the only vegetables were carrots and a few pieces of potato! The salad was supposed to be mixed greens with tarragon vinaigrette and it was wilted oily spinach with no flavor! The garlic bread was barely toasted and again no flavor! Worst food ever threw it all in the trash!!!!!!!

My wife and I ordered from the pizzeria tonight and the food we got was overpriced and inedible. When I came to pick up the food, the bartender looked me up and down and said “we don’t have an order from you.” Once I said my name they remembered I ordered a gluten free pizza for my wife. The pizza tasted terrible. The sauce tasted sour and the cheese seems to have turned bad. For $27, I can’t believe how horrible the food was. We both tried 1 slice and couldn’t make it through the rest. My wife spit hers out. From the rude staff to the very gross food, would not recommend.

This is my 2nd time to visit this restaurant and I decided to provide a detailed review of the food, services, and sitting area at this restaurant. Of course, it is an Italian restaurant and offers some of the best Italian dishes on the island, such as snails, veal, pasta, and shrimp. The food is authentic and exquisitely prepared, definitely deserving of a 5-star rating. While the prices are on the higher side, they reflect standard rates for reputable restaurants on the island. If you visit other dining spots, you'll likely find similar pricing. The sitting area is one of the best locations to enjoy a breathtaking sunset and is very romantic, making it ideal for special occasions like anniversaries or proposals. The waiters are very attentive, well-trained, and dedicated to providing excellent service to all customers. Overall, I highly recommend this place for its quality cuisine, beautiful ambiance, and attentive staff.

Really really really good service. The ravioli was delicious. The sword fish was lacking in flavor in my opinion. My husband ordered rack of lamb. Was really rare but they were happy to cook longer so it was editable. I honestly thought the potatoes were the best part of the meal, better then the protein portion of the meal. Would not recommend trying the mushroom souffle. Was very sponge like and mushy.

Absolutely fabulous! Wonderful atmosphere and service, terrace view is beautiful and the violinist added the perfect touch. We were so happy to find a fine dining experience after a week of casual food choices- the escargot and salads, we had veal and steak, house made desserts, all delicious. The wine list was extensive and the espresso was perfect. Beautiful service, our servers were attentive and personable. We even came back for takeout pizzas to enjoy on the beach, which were amazing. We highly recommend this beautiful spot!

We went there because we heard the food is great. But from the moment we sat down the white table cloth was full of crawling insects! They were everywhere on the glasses, silverware and all over the table! Nauseating and disturbing! The food portions were unbelievably small! The salad was good. The garlic bread wasn’t fresh and unpleasant. I don’t recommend it —very gross!

Born and raised on the island, i had dinner here a few times but never breakfast. Stayed at the Royal Sonesta overnight and woke up hungry. Breakfast was pretty good. Being located in one of the better hotels on the island it was kinda pricey. It sits right in front of the pool but it's covered. The menu is simple and our plates was hearty. Our service was friendly and our food came quickly.

I’ve eaten at Kukui’s for the past three days and overall, it’s been great. Gayleen was an awesome server—super kind, attentive, and had great energy. The food’s solid, and the açaí bowl is especially good—more frozen, which I liked. That said, the $8 orange juice was disappointing. The glass is tiny (smaller than my hand, as shown in the photo), and there are no refills. For that price, it feels like a rip-off—especially for families with kids. If you’re going to charge that much, at least make the glass the size of the water glass. Even then, it’s hard to justify. Just something to be aware of. Everything else was great, but that detail really stood out.

The broken yolk sandwich is awesome, flavorful and the bun was so soft! The omelette with pulled pork was good too - good flavor and generous portion. The egg white omelette with shrimp was ok, a bit watery. We went here twice for breakfast, quick service to get the day started. If you stay at the hotel I would not recommend getting coffee here - $7 per person for drip coffee.

Staff here is fantastic, service was incredibly timely and efficient. The food here is alright but ultimately costs about 30% more a meal than any of the surrounding locations. While I think it is nice to be able to order and sit near the pool for a meal or two we just couldn’t justify it given the many options within walking distance of the resort.

We are here on our honeymoon and I can honestly say this is the best place I have eaten so far in Kauai. I keep trying to NOT love it, because I'm not rich. But we keep coming back for more! I'm not sure if the chef is vegetarian, but this is somewhere that my wife loves EVERYTHING she gets. Amazing job. This is the first time vegetarian options haven't been a dining concern in 11 years. Thank you 😊 🙏 (she said cauliflower bolognese is #1; a "tie" for #2 with cauliflower curry, eggs Benedict, and grain bowl) And.. The server that has stood out to me, is the wonderful Miss Petra. She managed to lift our energies in milliseconds. She has a positive aura that radiates and I'm truly so grateful for it. Thank you Petra! There hostesses have also been lovely every time ❤️

We are staying at the Royal Sonseta Kauai, so this restaurant is incredibly convenient. After a long day of exploring the island, it was nice to come back and enjoy happy hour! The food was what you would expect from a poolside lunch menu, but the drinks were great, the service was friendly, and you can't find better views!

Amazing waitress. Super frienly and welcoming and probably the best part of experience. They did offer a happy hour from 3-4 with a few items at $10 on it. I did not order the $25 cheeseburger 🍔 but I'm sure curious what that would taste like 🤣. Fish tacos were decent and atmosphere was obviously nice and relaxing.

Great food! We came here for lunch and it wasn't too busy. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The Taro fries are really delicious too, even for people who don't like taro. A great little beach food shack to eat at when you don't want a full sit down meal with silverwear. The fish of the day is also really yummy, and the late breakfast is delicious.

Great spot for burgers and fries. Outdoor seating made the meal even better. Burgers were fresh and cooked perfectly. The teriyaki burger was especially good with the pineapple slice. Fries were hot and crispy. I hear that the breakfast here is also excellent although I have not tied it myself. Close to Kalapaki Beach and an easy walk to get to and from there.

Absolutely love this place. Fantastic food reasonably priced. Went there every day while in Kauai. The Tropical Smoothie and Aloha Classic are a must have! Breakfast was also great. Service was polite and pretty quick. There's seating both upstairs and downstairs. Stairs can get real slippery when it rains, so Kalapaki Beach Hut, please stick some adhesive mineral grip tape on the stairs! My wife slipped and fell on the left exit stairs and scuffed both her rings. Really put a damper on the honeymoon, but she was fine. With a few dollars, that hazard can be taken care of, so please get that fixed. Steps going upstairs had grip tape, but not the exit. Keep up the good cooking!

Delicious and cheap local food. Visited twice while on vacation. Their fruit smoothies are refreshing, the food tastes good and is nice to eat on the little terrace on top.

This little burger place has some great burgers that won't break the bank. I mean food is never cheep on Hawaii, but the prices here aren't bad. The food is also quite good and they have some more unique options if you want to be a little more adventurous.

Walked here from the Marriott and were not disappointed. We had the Hawaiian shave ice and the aloha burger...I know touristy as F, but whatever, they looked good. The shave ice was not as good as JoJo’s but better than anything we’ve had outside Kauai. And the aloha burger, while it sounded like a mosh-mash of random stuff, actually went together very well and was the best burger we had on the island. Teriyaki sauce, pineapple, medium rare burger, and the normal fixings...it all went together with the flavors complementing each other. Pretty good for $10. They were out of the Taro Fries when we came so no review of those guys.

My cheddar burger was amazingly delicious, lettuce and tomato, crisp, on all soft and squishy, the fries were perfect and crispy and of course my favorite kind: shoestring! I got to meet a lovely young lady named Seana and had a wonderful lunch, thank you very much!

We traveled all the way from Texas and somehow ended up here. It wasn't a bad place to end up. The food was good, the drinks were cold and tasty and the service was great.

Pretty typical American Mexican restaurant. Food was good and served fast. The chips were thicker than I am accustomed to but we're tasty. I am sure there are better food options on Kauai but if you have a hankering for American Mexican with a good atmosphere, Mariachi's is the place to go.

We went to eat at this place with not very high expectations but were pleasantly impressed and surprised with the ambience and atmosphere there. The food was so good and flavourful that we didn’t want to talk much while eating. The server was extra careful about my vegetarian partner’s food choice and pointed out things. Highly recommend this place. The drinks were amazing too!!

We had a table of eight at Mariachi’s in Lihue, and everything about our experience was fantastic! The staff was incredibly friendly and efficient — our food came out quickly, even with a large group. The steak fajitas and chimichangas were absolute must-tries — packed with flavor and perfectly cooked. Everyone at the table loved their meals. The atmosphere was warm and lively, making it a great spot for both families and friends to enjoy lunch. Overall, Mariachi’s is an amazing restaurant with delicious food, excellent service, and a great environment. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in Lihue

Food was good and good portions. The surprise was they charged for our leftovers too containers 75cents per box. Never seen that in any restaurant.

We come to this restaurant for every celebration. Our favorite restaurant on island . My husband loves the Molemole and I love the specialized tacos with the hand maid corn tortillas (gf). They always have the best energy and make our birthdays so special. 10:10 for experience , food, vibe and location. Ask for Margarito … he is the BEST !!! In fact … he will find you first. #1 Mexican restaurant on island hands down.

Unfortunately this restaurant suffers from the maladie that affects many restaurants in and around resorts: poor quality, high prices. They know they have a captive audience so they don't have to try. I ordered carne asada..the plate came with a cheese enchilada which was delicious. But the star of the dish, the meat, was god-aweful! I took maybe 3-4 bites. They thought I wanted to take the leftover meat home and I would have if I had a dog 🐕. Imagine, if you will, a COLD chewy tasteless slice of meat with fake grill marks and you have Mariachi's carne asada. The waiter was nowhere to be seen. He took my order and later my credit card. He never came to ask about the meal or if there was a problem. 👎 On the bright side the person who brought water, chips, and served the actual plate and took the plates was super nice and attentive.👍👏 He seemed genuinely interested that I enjoy my meal and even said he was sorry I didn't like the meat. The waiter is lucky I didn't stiff him. I was waiter in college and I have a soft spot for them. A note to the waiter: I don't tip based on the food because it's not your fault. I tip for your performance which was terrible.. BTW: what's with the loud music?

What a delicious comforting breakfast we were served! I had the vegetarian omelet with no onion and chose hash browns as my side. Veggies were sautéed in a juice flavor - lots of veggies. Portions are big! I felt full thru lunch time! The kids had French toast and the simple waffles. Waffles are very basic, definitely not made in-house. The French toast definitely were freshly made and topped with lots of fresh fruit and whipped cream - A+ from the kids 👍🏼😋 Hubby had the Kanaka breakfast which came with eggs, bacon, spam, Portuguese sausage, ham, rice, hashbrowns, and toast! 😲 yup, he skipped lunch that day too. Prices seem high but inline with the raisng cost of everything else 🤷🏻‍♀️ Definitely recommend this place for a hearty tasty breakfast meal. They also have lunch / dinner entrees on the menu. Coffee was also good tasting and our server always kept our cups full!! Thanks 🤙

God is Amazing! What a gem of a place! The food is amazing! They have the best Stuffed Shrimp Eggs Benedict and they have mouthwatering Coconut Macadamia Pancakes…the best pancakes and benedict I’ve ever had. The service is speedy and friendly. We will definitely be back on future trips.

Great breakfast stop. I really enjoyed their French toast breakfast. The Punaluu sweet beard was delicious. There was no wait, fast seating, order taken and delivered quickly.

Local, nondescript, fine. Nothing special here. Old host is a bit of a grump, but not offensive. Just no Aloha. Food is brown and forgettable. Syrup is definitely not maple! Prices are typical of this island, which is more than what I am used to in the mainland for superior quality. Not bad, not remarkable. No waiting for us mid-week at about 10am. So that’s a plus!

Popular local brekkie spot in a Lihue strip mall open early, headed here straight off the plane🤙Had an early morning local Saturday crowd but we were seated right away. We ordered the local breakfast consisting of 3 eggs, hash browns and port sausage, along with a short stack pancakes, Deluxe French Toast and a fruit bowl. Friendly service and good food, a perfect choice before heading out on a Kauai daytrip adventure..... 5 stars

This place is one of our favorites! Harry is the coolest guy! He looks a little rough around the edges, but just talk to him… he’s the best! The food is divine! The stuffed French toast is a bit of heaven. Highly recommend!

Small restaurant. Appears to be pretty busy might be because there’s just not much pho option on the island. Service was okay. Everything is so fast and the waiter was constantly running back and worth and shouting things out. Once we got our orders, we never saw the waiter again. Good was okay. Pho was different than mainland pho that I’ve had. The broth was thicker, more oily, and the meat was thicker cut, not as tendered. The spring roll I got was not bad. The ends were dried, this is how you know it’s not freshly made, most remade, wrapped, and stored. Good sauce. Will I go back? Mixed feelings. I want to say No but as I said earlier, there’s not much pho options on the island.

My favorite Pho spot on island,the service is amazing and the place is super clean. I always get the #14 and it never disappoints. The wait time to be seated isn’t usually long and the food is served pretty quick as well. Love this place and highly recommend!

This was a good lunch option for us before flying out of Lihue. We ordered the fried rice with grilled shrimp and another one with Tofu and vegetables. The shrimp & veggies were very fresh and the fried rice tasted yummy with not much oil in it! Will definitely recommend.

Food is surprisingly good and unexpected to have Vietnamese noodle on Kauai. Location is great, lots of parking spaces and close to the airport. Recommend to try.

We had an amazing experience! Quick service, great food, fun and energetic atmosphere, and pretty reasonable prices considering its island prices. I would highly recommend this place for anybody visiting Kauai!

Fantastic food!!! The dynamite fish and the Misoyaki sea bass were the absolute highlights and the best food we've had on the whole island. The banana foam espresso Martini was also really tasty! The lava cake for dessert was a little too dry for my taste. Expensive but well worth it! Also really nice atmosphere on the patio with live music.

This was hands down one of the best meals we’ve had while visiting Kaua’i. We started with the mango and mozzarella appetizer. It was so fresh, light, and flavorful. My husband got the shrimp fettuccine with an added lobster tail. He said it was one of the best lobster tails he’s ever had, and the shrimp were very flavorful. I had the Thai coconut curry. The macadamia nuts and fresh mango compote on top added a wonderful freshness and crunch that the curry needed. It was spicy, creamy, and packed full of flavor. For dessert, my husband had the warm chocolate cake, and it was rich, gooey, so chocolatey. I had a mango tart with coconut sorbet and pineapple sorbet, with fresh mango slices. It was a wonderful end to an amazing dinner!

OMG!! The food, view, service, ambiance, live music, everything was perfect. Came here for my birthday dinner during our vacation here and loved every bite. My husband had the Ginger Prawn Fettuccine, I had the Dynamite Kona Kampachi. The flavors were fresh and perfectly balanced in my opinion. The Kampachi fish was tender and so naturally buttery, and the sauce with the avocado on top paired so well to create a delicious bite. We also had the spicy margarita which was also tasty! Service from our waitress Lauren was great also. When visiting Kauai, this restaurant is a MUST!

Absolutely delicious. Stopped here for some lunch while island hopping. You valet up front for parking and head downstairs to the open air restaurant with incredible views of the water. Keiki chicken fingers hit the spot for them, I ordered Ahi tacos and my husband ordered the Ahi Poke bowl. 10/10 and great prices for lunch. Servers are warm and welcoming.

The most overrated restaurant in the area. We had high hopes for this one, but from food to service, everything was lacking the vibe. The costly red wine bottle was warm, warmer than the mid-June temperature. The food was okay, only the scallops were good.

I’ve been to Hualani’s several times and every visit has been outstanding. The setting is absolutely stunning, easily one of the most beautiful restaurant locations I’ve ever seen. The food and drinks are a solid 10 out of 10. Everything on the menu feels fresh and thoughtfully prepared, and the fish dishes are especially impressive. The service has always been excellent too. Tristan has been our server on a couple of visits and he’s one of the best. He’s relaxed, professional, and genuinely attentive. He made sure everything was perfect and answered all our questions with a smile. This place truly captures what makes dining in Kauai so special. Can’t wait to come back on my next trip.

Hualani was the best meal on our Kaua'i trip. Other reviewers have erroneously mentioned hualani has a michelin star. This is incorrect. Instead, michelin has awarded Hualani with a michelin key. No matter the award, hualani ranks highly (for me!) for its food, service, and location. I really enjoyed the lychee St Louis ribs. Lots of meat and a great value. The potstickers and coconut shrimp appetizers were solid, too. The shrimp batter was thick but not overbearing, wrapped around a nice fat shrimp. Also, check out the lilikoi cheesecake. The hint of lilikoi was terrific. Enjoy the amazing view overlooking the ocean. And bonus points: no birds annoyingly sniping for food!!

Mcdonald's - Hawaiin style... Although being a typical fastfood chain, I love that it incorporated local food into their menu.

No Aloha love here... Shocked at the horrible service! I ordered some food an an OREO McFlurry. Don't get an oreo McFlurry here! Almost the entire McFlurry was solid plain vanilla icecream other than a sprinkle of oreo dust on the top. Normally I wouldn't care but I was oddly craving oreos! And happened to be driving by good Ole McDonalds. So no big deal, I nicely went up with a smile on my face and said there were no oreos in the McFlurry, showed them the plain white icecream and asked them to just throw some on top so I could stir them in myself and they had to get their manager. Then the manager asked the staff if they put the correct amount of oreos in and they sheepishly said yes so the manager turned to me and said nope, we won't give you any more. You have to pay more if you want more oreos... More oreos? It was literally plain white icecream, Ha ha. I was pretty shocked and bummed of course. Such a simple fix to make a customer happy. Oh the world we live in these days.... and a rare occurrence of the exact opposite of the Aloha vibe I've always experienced living here. Well, on to the rest of this beautiful day. I *hate* the self service kiosks. Had questions about the newly advertised McFlurry and couldn't find any detail on the kiosk or anyone to help. Not just this McDonald's, but especially this one drew my ire for the lack of service. McDonald's, wake up and staff your front of house like Culver's or Chic Fil'A. What's next, cooking my own meal too? Will be voting with my wallet by not visiting McDonalds without staff at the counter. Will walk out in the future.

Fun atmosphere right on the beach. Very small food menu. The nachos were excellent! The pulled pork sandwich was pretty good. burger was pretty basic. The ice cream hula pie was yum.

Atmosphere down stairs is great especially for kids. Our fish tacos were great but ever seemed like small portions including kids menu sides. Great service. We only waited 20 minutes without a reservation to eat downstairs. Nice ambiance down three as well. We parked across the street by the food carts so we wouldn’t have to wait for valet. Gotta get the hula pie! I would like to mention the restrooms are very small downstairs and always had a line. My wife said they were VERY dirty in hopes that someone would clean.

🍹GOOD OLE DUKES! My wife and I have enjoyed Duke's in Oahu and this Kaua'i location did not disappoint. Located by the a beach it's a really nice atmosphere. The prices are typical for a resort. There are better places for mai tais on Kauai but Duke's Mai tai isn't bad. Their drinks are good and strong. The food is good. This is a much better choice for cocktails and food versus the restaurant / bar at the Royal Sonesta or Marriott Beach Club.

We were excited to celebrate a birthday here, but left disappointed. Our table wobbled throughout the meal, the food was too salty (we mentioned it but nothing was done), and the complimentary birthday dessert came without a candle. We understand restaurants have off nights, but for these prices, we hoped for better attention to the little things that make special occasions memorable.

Gross food and inattentive staff. It's a terrible way to start your vacation. Inedible edamame. The food is sitting on the counter forever with no server to bring it to us. We ended up serving ourselves. It's been such a poor experience that I literally lost my appetite and I'm just sitting here grumpy. They also served us the wrong food that we didn't order. And when I complained to the manager he was confrontational and said I should have mentioned something sooner instead of coming to him in an accusatory manner. 🙄We sat looking at our rolls on the counter for quite some time but our server was nowhere around. They sprinkled salt all over the sushi too when fish is already salty as it is. Literally disgusting. It's really funny that we have much better sushi in Colorado landlocked than they do here in Hawaii. I thought I was going to come here and eat good fish but I guess not. And they serve you with disposable chopsticks like this place is so ghetto I'm sorry. I don't mean to be mean but man this is like the worst sushi ever. I would not recommend.

One word, exceptional! Ate here during my stay at the MVC in Kauai. Last dinner on the island before my flight. Located on the upper floor of the pool area. During the day, you wouldn’t expect it as a place to eat divine sushi, but by night it comes alive. Props to Falcon our bartender and Kalen(?) the sushi chef for creating amazing drinks and culinary dishes. The whole team at Royal Lanai Sushi is awesome but Falcon and Kalen went above and beyond. Drinks: Draft Fire Rock Kona Beer with Tropic of Makers Cocktail Food: Presentation 10/10 Rolls came on a surf board and placed oh so perfectly. Taste 10/10 very fresh seafood made with love, care and a delicate touch. It was art on a plate and tastes just as divine. Seafood Curry Caterpillar Roll Seared Salmon Roll (My favorite) Rainbow Poke Crisp (Wife’s favorite) Spicy Tuna Crunch Pro Tip: need a little spice? Asked for Sliced jalapeños! They were on point! I would dine here again and say aloha to my friends, Falcon And Kalen.

We ate at the counter and had a good time watching the chefs making the sushi. The chefs were super friendly and gave us great recommendations for things to do locally. The sushi was on point and so were the drinks. Maybe slightly overpriced but not unexpected given the resort location. Highly recommend!

Amazing food! We went a few days after their grand opening, so they still have some service kinks to work out, but I was still a great experience. I would expect it to only get better. Views from the resort are amazing.

The quality of the food, service & portion sizes are too low to justify the price. My salmon had fat spots that were quite tough to bite through and isn’t the quality I’d expect from sushi-grade salmon. While the other ingredients in my Chirashi bowl tasted alright, the food feels like “sushi in a non-sushi restaurant” as opposed to the Royal Lanai specializing in sushi. As for the service, it took around 30min until the server took our order, even though the restaurant is small. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is nice. This could be remedied by either increasing the quality of the food and service or decreasing the prices.

Save your money! Food was awful, we sat down and ordered edamame right away taste was great but very oily. The “sushi” rolls came out. The spider roll was over cooked and so hard with stale rice. 0 flavor. The next roll was absolutely disgusting the fish tasted old and it was mushy. I definitely do not recommend this place if you are a sushi lover and looking for quality.

Food was good, but honestly the price to portion size ratio in inexcusable. For $45, a 6 piece roll and 5 smaller nigiri is inexcusable, if we had known we would have gone to a local sushi shop (live and learn?), we thought about ordering another roll, but opted to head over to the bar by the pool for some wings and French onion soup (both delicious). The service and staff were all very friendly, though our waitress was not always attentive but it did seem like they had her doing the lion share of the work. The mixed drinks were very well made and stiff, the bartenders deserve a raise, we each had a drink before dinner and then 1 at dinner for her, all very well made and delicious. I will however note that, and in no is this something the staff has any control over, but 10$ for a bottle of Kirin? Really? They have it under the "import" section, and charging a premium to boot, but it is legit brewed now by New Belgium for the US market in AMERICA. Before it was brewed by Anheuser-Busch......for 2 drinks, 1 mixed and 1 bottled DOMESTIC Beer, 6 piece sushi, 5 nigiri, and 2 miso soups, bill was at about 100$. It was our first night and the ambiance of the place and getting to watch the sunset was beautiful and relaxing and overall romantic but the cost to portion sizes again just do not equate...would highly recommend trying one of the local places or food trucks near by and bring back and eat.

This Costco food court needs to get it it together. Very slow, bad attitudes, out of salads, out of ice, soda machines broken and sodas out of flavor. No vanilla ice cream, and super long wait times. No sense of urgency.

Can never beat Costco food court prices. 3/5 here because birds were flying and perching on the condiment dispensers. Lines took a little longer than other Costco’s we have been too. Food court is also outside and was really hot when we were eating.

I love this place because it's just available for us and makes life easy in the kitchen! They have a variety venue to share with all customers.

Ask for the 'Feral Burger' --which I don't see on their menu. We(all 4 of us) stopped here after an 8 mile hike at Kalalau Trail, and after talking to the waiter, he mentioned the Feral Burger which was half pork and half ground beef. Needless to say, we all came back the next day for round 2 and all got feral burgers again. I plan on coming again in the fall, and I will absolutely stop here again.

This is a great place with good food. If you enjoy finding the local places instead of a chain restaurant, this is your place. The kids want to come back tomorrow for more!

Unfortunately not the experience I was hoping for. We had to wait over 35 minutes for our food, then weather a storm of weak and snarky platitudes from our waitress. Not only did we wait forever, but our order wasn't correct. The final punctuation for the botched dinner service was improper billing. I'll chock it up to an unusually bad night for the place, I suppose. The fish and chips was passable, though the fish was too breaded for my taste. The fries were a bit soggy, and the chicken wings were more like microwaved pigeon wings. The burger we ordered, however, was quite tasty.

Awesome place to grab a drink and some tasty food. We hadn't been impressed with Kauai's restaurants and good until we hit this place. The seared ahi is perfectly seasoned and the veggies are delish! Would totally recommend it!

Amazing Loco moco. The food and the view were both great. I look forward to returning. Be careful of when you go because the cruise ship docks nearby. The area can get very busy with people. There is a nice beach across the street where you can relax after breakfast.

My wife and I went the Feral Pig for take out and had a wonderful conversation with the Bartender. She went above and beyond to make our experience personal and unique, even though we were there for just takeout. We both ordered the Feral Pig burger, it was exceptional. The atmosphere was exactly what we were looking for.

Amazing! They smoke their own pork shoulders and have home-made french fries. Easily the best burger on the island.

Yep this is a great place for dinner. Doesn't look like much from the outside but you step into a little oasis with food that's as good as the scenery. Came back twice and would keep coming if we stayed longer. Would recommend to all!

Made reservations in advance for a party of 16 and seated at 2 8-person tables next to one another... right next to the live musician who was fantastic! Restaurant is absolutely gorgeous and surrounded completely by lush greenery and flowers... but this also makes it extra humid, so dress accordingly! Service was very friendly and attentive - Carly was awesome! -Nacho Appetizer -Kale Salad -Spinach & Mushroom Ravioli -Keoki Style Fish -Pina Colada with Strawberry -Cilantro Mango Heat Cocktail Everything was absolutely delicious, and priced as expected for a nice restaurant. Would highly recommend for any group size and special occasion!

This place is a hidden gem of a restaurant. It is near Poipu Road but you can't tell when you are in the place. Is features split level dining with a great view of ponds and banyan trees. Food was excellent and at a fair price for Hawaii. Lo

Kaelin was our server and she was just amazing. Our Mac crusted fish fresh caught and local was out of the world with capers, olive oil and excellently seasoned rice. Not to mention that the fish and chips was so well done. Kaelyn also went above and beyond to ask and find out where we can get the fish ourselves.

Our anniversary dinner was wonderful! Live music, mai tai, macadamia encrusted fresh fish, hula pie, beautiful setting and a great server Blythe....can't wait to return! 🌴

We chose the "Manor House Experience" which consisted of pre-set menu served at the Plantation House, followed by being escorted to watch the Kalamaku Luau right next door. As many had raved about the food at the Plantation House, we had our hopes up for an evening of delicious cuisine... Before dinner, we had some time to meander around the property and did some shopping upstairs in the house where there were multiple small artisans selling their crafts and artwork. For the dinner, we were seated outside on the patio which hosted a nice, quiet ambience. For each course, we had two items to select from. I chose jumbo shrimp appetizer, island caprese salad, main entree of Island fresh catch fish with Kahlua, and profiteroles to finish. The main entree was rather disappointing; dry and over-salted fish served next to rather flavorless Kahlua pork (I had better pork at L&L which is saying a lot!!). The best course was the caprese salad, as ironic as that is as there is nothing "Hawaiian" about mozzarella or balsamic dressing. After dinner, we were escorted to watch the Kalamaku Luau and were seated right in the front of the stage. The show itself was well done with a creative storyline and a great cast of talented singers, dancers, and firedancers. Our package also came with open bar. I've lived in Hawaii for a short term, in addition to numerous vacation trips to all of their islands. We've been to variety of luaus ranging from small intimate ones with deliciously curated selection of food which were served table-side, to large touristy luaus where buses full of tourists were brought in to dine on lack luster food produced in massive quantities and served buffet style. I had high hopes for the luau dinner here at the Plantation House given its reputation, but unfortunately it was a bit of a disappointment. Perhaps their regular restaurant serves far better food with better creativity, so we shall return to give that a chance. But, I would pass on the extra cost of paying for the "Manor House Experience" and just go enjoy the regular luau separately.

One of our favorite places for lunch right after the rum safari! The food was delicious, and priced very well! For 3 people we had an appetizer, soup, 3 entrees and a dessert! So good!!

Waited 20 minutes to have our order taken. The two hours we were there were waiting for drinks and food. Long night! The prices are competitive $50-$70 per person, food portions are generous, ambiance is incredible!! Sorry photos were an after thought, the Kalbi style beef not pictured, was incredible!!

Amazing food n drinks and excellent service! Dylan was our server both times and he is awesome. We are a family of 4 (including a vegetarian) and all of us had a great experience. We were in Kauai for a week and visited this place twice. We tried different items on the menu during the visits and everything was very fresh and delicious.

One of our favorite lunch spots on the island (though dinner is awesome too)! Somehow both upscale food, but casual atmosphere. We had poke, very good brie appetizer, the best Cobb salad I've had in a while (!), local catch fish and chips, and my kid had the best burger! There are shops in the manor, and a courtyard if you have littler keiki (kids) who need to stretch their legs. We loved this when our kids were 1 and 4, they are now 12 and 15, and it's as good as we remember! Service was awesome from the hostess to our server to the folks who kept our water glasses always filled and never an empty plate on the table. Highly recommend!

Really great atmosphere and beautiful farm to table food. We did the rum tour and that was a 15 out of 10. So fun, beautiful, and educational. The food was great and a lot of it is grown on the property.

Very well appointed restaurant with super casual vibe and tastefully done ambience. A nice bar area seems to be good to catch a game and yet have some families eating at the tables. We went there to get lunch before printer of the plantation train ride. The portions are too small, the chips were store bought. But the tacos were OK. The tacos we had at Tiki Tacos were so much better. The service was kinda slow too. All in all, passable for a bite but they need to get their kitchen in order first.

The food is good not great, but that’s been our experience at most of the places we’ve tried on the island. Major word of caution if you are gluten free, even though the menu is marked does NOT mean the item is gluten free. I ordered the tostado, marked gluten free on the menu, and was suspicious so I confirmed with the waiter if all the meat choices listed are gf and he said only the chicken is.. I did tell them they need to be careful about labeling things gf and not specifying; really easy way to hurt someone. That said, it was good.

Good and creative Mexican food. Loved both Mahimahi and garlic shrimp tacos with Furikake and Ulu tortillas! Casual atmosphere conveniently close to Costco. The service is nice and friendly, too!

My food was just OK, but my wife had a vegetarian burrito, which was filled with tater tots, par cooked broccoli, shredded zucchini and hot sauce (i.e., it was pretty much inedible). It's a storefront in a strip mall, with the atmosphere you'd expect with that.

Not only is Verde the best Mexican food on Kauai, it ranks up there with some of the best Mexican food I’ve ever had… and that’s saying a lot! The Hawaiian fusion of the horchata with coconut was amazing. The servers were very friends and on point! I also love that they ask you to wash your hands before serving. You know the place is kept clean and ready to serve! Will be back! *Try the fish tacos!

A great view and extremely overpriced food. The burger and fries were good but lacked that extra something that you would expect for that price. It was a patty with a slice of American cheese on it.

Great restaurant! I had the Mahi Mahi Sandwich and it tasted awesome. The battered fries complimented the sandwich well! We had a great server, unfortunately I forgot her name but she was an island local and was super informative about the entire island! And she definitely knew how to recommend drinks! Five star service hands down.

I am giving 5 stars because it is your typical basic sports bar. I knew this going into it. The staff was very nice and the location is a plus. If I had to rate of just food quality I would give it 3 stars. Ordered fish and chips and fish tacos. The fish Taco was the fish and chips with a tortilla. I'm on vacation so I most likely never go back there if I came and visited again. If I was a local I would for sure eat there again. A bunch of locals hang out by the water and trees and smokea bunch of cigarettes which I didn't like. Again. Not JJs fault.

We like it here for a quick meal before heading to the airport (1.5 miles away). Our last chance to sit and eat and enjoy the water before heeding home. Basic sports bar food, but tasty.

JJ's is the perfect place for you to take a load off, grab a beer, and catch the game. It's peaceful and somewhat nostalgic. Everytime I visit kauai I ALWAYS make sure to come here. The staff are super welcoming and helpful. Drinks are always cold and food hot. I've had some great memories here and it will always have a special place in my heart. Featured in the picture is their classic Reuben sandwich along with their Alcoholic Mudslide and a Coke

Overall good experience. We liked the food. People who say it tastes like food in Italy, well it does not. It tastes more like „american“ italian food. But for what it is, it is very good.

Talk about top tier service! Our waitress was SO friendly and knowledgeable! She made great recommendations and shared so much about the different dishes. The kitchen was super accommodating to both gluten and nut allergies. Our party of four all loved our meals (I got the pesto GF with shrimp!). We had just gotten off a long flight and this was the perfect spot to visit first, as we felt very welcomed. Would definitely recommend stopping in if you’re looking for something filling and delicious!

KP Lihue delivers on flavor with hearty, satisfying Italian dishes. The entrées were adequate in portion and absolutely delicious—definitely the highlight of the meal 😋. The bruschetta, while fresh and flavorful, came in a smaller portion than expected, which was a bit of a letdown. The ambiance leans romantic with low lighting, creating a cozy, intimate vibe 💕. Service was great too—friendly and attentive throughout 🙌. The only odd part was the bathroom situation—one restroom inside and another outside, which felt a little inconvenient 🚻. Overall, a super solid spot for tasty Italian fare on the island 🇮🇹🌴. Worth a visit if you're craving something comforting and delicious!

My husband and I came here tonight on a whim, and I’m so glad we did! From start to finish, the food was amazing! We got the caprese for an appetizer, shrimp scampi and capellini pomodoro for a main course, and a dark chocolate creme brûlée and brownie with ice cream for dessert. Jen, our waitress was friendly, outgoing, and such a joy to talk to. 10/10 would come back again!

The menu options taste as good or better than they look! I had the veal dish with mushroom sauce and a calamari appetizer, and now I’m one happy guy! I’ve been eating a lot of local fish daily on this island visit, so it’s nice to experience homemade, “back home” comfort food … for a change. Super tasty and fresh! This place is always hopping, so make a reservation! (I had to add to this critique on a separate visit, and I must say the pasta with meat sauce is mind blowing! The overhead background music is very progressive & chill, which I love. This owner and restaurant are very hip and it’s got it all happening on Kauai!)

Very nice, friendly, local Italian restaurant. Great food, service. Three in our party. We started with the caprese to share. One had the side Caesar with dinner, very nice. For entrees we sampled the fettuccine Alfredo, shrimp scampi and chicken pesto with fettuccine. All of the entrees were served with fresh bread. Portions were very nice with two of us unable to finish. Excellent food, great service, nice surroundings, what more could you want? Definitely give them a try. Great value, a must try if you like Great Italian food!

Looks like a place for locals. Very different - you scan the QR code on your table and order thru that. I started with the Australian Chicken beer. The beer was just as described - and the second one tasted just as good. I ordered the Philly Cheesesteak. The cheesesteak was very tasty and the fries were served very hot and they tasted great also. My wife got the Shaken Chicken Tenders. The tenders were juicy and perfectly cooked. She had to get up and get her own silverware. While ordering you kept have to double check everything because sometimes the dot will skip to the next item.

This place was really good. Went at the busiest time and still able to get a seat. Got the jalapeno popper burger which was super good. The fries are battered and fried; super crispy and delicious. The homemade root beer was also fantastic. Definitely recommend this place. Edit a couple years later: still phenomenal. The rice beer and the Austrian Chicken were out of this world good.

Stopped in for a beer and cocktail before going to the airport, stopped in during happy hour and tried the smash burger. It was so amazing! Lychee Sangria and the Black limousine beer.

Parmesan fries and beer were good but the fish tacos apparently had horseradish (yuck!) that wasn’t on the menu, and the mac and cheese was too peppery.

Really enjoyed this place. The ambiance was perfectly casual and was great for our family of 6. I really liked the local beer and everyone was happy with their food. We had the Greek salad, burgers chicken tenders and fries and all were good. The wait staff was also very welcoming which added to our visit. The food also came out quickly which was great since we were grabbing a flight later in the evening. It was a really nice last dinner of the trip to Kauai.

Beer was great. All the beers seemed a little on the higher ABV side. Smash burger and garlic fries were tasty. Service was excellent. Everything came out super quick. Staff were very attentive. Table and space were clean. Easily, the best beer I had on the island. Right next to the airport, making it easy to grab food after you land or before you leave. Overall a great little local beer joint.

I am in love with this place. As soon as I landed I B-lined here and within ten minutes was ordering some of their poke. In my opinion best on the island after trying about 5 or 6 different spots. Enough so I ate here 3 more times in one week. The fish is fresh and melts in your mouth and lots of options to choose from for your bowl. My mother and sister also agreed. Be aware of their hours to maximize your enjoyment.

Very tasty and original poke. The place itself doesn't inspire much confidence, but the food is very fresh. You choose what will be in your poke, in addition to the seafood, you put sides in it on yourself, the price goes for the weight. I highly recommend it. There is good parking, but there is nowhere to eat inside, so only take-out.

The place is small and doesn’t have indoor seating, it’s mainly for takeout. It’s recommended by locals for its good prices and quality. Food tastes fresh with lots of variety to choose from. There’s plenty of parking available. The staff was okay, nothing special but fine overall. A good spot if you’re looking for tasty and cheap poke to go!

Amazing poke! We always come back here every time we visit Kauai. The poke is delicious and fresh. They also have great hot dishes. Great service as well. You don’t eat here, it’s all to go.

We visited Kauai and this was our first stop and best Poke of the trip! Delicious fresh poke with a wide range of options of seafood and toppings for the bowl. The guy behind the counter talked us through everything, and gave us free tasters of a few of the different types of poke. Wish we could have come back again, we will next time we are on the island!

This visit, we had the poke bowls. Everything was fresh and tasteful. Just what we were hoping for and the prices are very reasonable.

There a good choice of food options. The team members are very friendly. The place is very clean. We ordered one Poke Bowl with Ahi Spicy Poke w/Crab, Ahi Spicy Poke, and Ahi Shoyu Poke. We also ordered another Poke Bowl with Ahi Spicy Poke w/Crab, Salmon Onion Poke, and Kimchee Shrimp. They are very delicious.

Food is fine, a little salty though. But the staff here are very unfriendly and impatient and never had smile. They just ignored customers and let people wait without saying whether there were seats or not. After we were seated, they kept us waiting without any service, water, or ordering for at least 15 minutes. When they finally served the food, they just put it on the table impatiently without saying anything like “enjoy” or anything like that. We understand this is a busy cafe, but their service makes you feel like you owe them lots of money 🤷🏻‍♀️

The restaurant cafe is incredible. I had the BEST banana pancakes ever here. The texture is so soft, and the taste is perfect. I’m from New York, and this is the only restaurant in all of Hawaii that didn’t taste like trash. The oxtail soup is great, although slightly salty.

Ok, let's say that I would not bring the British Royal Family over here, but the place was decent enough and clean, even though a bit outdated. We spent 7 nights and had no complaints. Since it is the most affordable accomodation on the island, we weren't expecting Grand Hyatt like amenities either. Overall, good place for those traveling on a budget that want to explore the island. Plus, the food in the cafe was really good, the oxtail soup is an absolute must.

Gotta be honest - we flew into Kauai one day before our official vacation started and we needed a cheap place to stay close to the airport. Tip-Top Motel was the cheapest place we could find and it turned out to be a decent night's sleep. Nothing fancy, but that's not what they are about. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. It's walking distance from Walmart so that's a plus. I was emailed a door code and never saw staff while we were there.

The motel was decent enough for a quick trip I planned. I was only in Kauai for one night and didn't want to spend hundreds of dollars on a fancy hotel. I just needed a place to spend the night. It was clean, close to the airport, and affordable. Definitely would recommend if you're here for a quick trip.

There isn't much by way of service it's a basics kinda hotel/motel. Room is nice 2 single beds, smart TV with hook upstairs. My son and I played Brawlhalla. Everything is clean and simple. You have to book before 2 bc the lobby closes at 2, you book online and by phone only before 2pm. Close to everything in the heart of Linhuè, Kauai, Hawaii

World famous local diner same as-it-ever-was when I first visited Lihue Kaua'i 20 years ago on my honeymoon. Fast, efficient, great macadamian pancakes, spam, rice, loco moco, Portuguese sausage - no frills (1970's time capsule!) and lots of locals!

A real gem for Kauai locals! It’s comfortable and welcoming, yet offers special experiences from time to time. You can enjoy a casual sports bar vibe or a more atmospheric night with live music and great food. Prices are fair and the service is always excellent.

Stopped here after landing on the island and was so pleasantly surprised! Great sports bar atmosphere with plenty of TVs evenly spaced throughout for seating, large drink and food selection, and awesome live music. The poke bowl was enough for two and the house vinaigrette was super tasty.

Great place to catch the game and some pretty good food. Loved the atmosphere and all the happy locals laughing and having a great time!

Pictures of the food is some what outdated. Can’t find a fried Snapper on the island. This place certainly doesn’t offer it anymore and the turn around on staff must reflect it because no one knew what I was talking about. Only place I visited more than once but was in hopes of a whole fried fish. The Ahi Nachos is a solid tourist favoritte, Delicious! Looks like presentation got watered down after some time. Still better than some the tourists traps nearby. It’s a local spot fo sho, good sign. Do recommend to the basic traveler. Namaste.

Love Rob's! Steak is perfect. Also highly recommend the meat plate and definitely get the Philly cheese steak with au jus on the side for dipping. Bloody Mary's are lovely!

Food was good. Steak was a little overcooked, but not bad. Good flavor. Service good. Happy they had an option to sit outside where it wasn't so noisy. Desert was huge piece of brownie. We didn't order alcohol so no opinion there.

By far this has been the best shave ice of our trip! Tried Jojo's was not the kind of shave ice we were expecting, thicker chunks and not smooth. Wailua is the place to get that nice smooth shave ice! The fresh fruit on top was amazing. All of the shave ice we tried was delicious and they are open until 9PM. If you have been on Kauai for longer than 2 days you will notice most places close up early or before 7pm. We will be back for more shave ice before we head back home!

I learned quickly visiting Hawaii that you should absolutely judge it's shaved ice based on the line of people waiting. We had multiple people tell us that this is the best shaved ice not just on Kauai but on all of the Hawaiian Islands. This proved to be absolutely not true. There are certainly better shaved ice options. What makes this place at the lower end of the list is not just the fact that the quality of the shaved ice was just not that good, but there's also no interaction with people here. You order through a kiosk, and there are people behind the counter who make it, all they do is shout out your name when it's done like Starbucks next door. The shaved ice is mediocre at best. I do want to give a shout out to the owners of this facility because they have learned how to maximize profits and I applaud that. The facility was clean and the three young ladies behind the counter who were making the shaved ice appeared to be happy and get along.

9/10 - da ube one 9.5/10: so fire. the cream on top was wonderful, with surprises of crunchy coconut flakes. every bite had just as much flavor, the ice was infused!!!! - lava flow 3/10: so bad. don't get this one. it tasted like artificial pineapple, with some sad canned pineapple and frozen strawberries on top. the haupia cream was good but didn't make up for the rest of it being so bad. we ended up tossing half of it :(

All my stars are just for the texture of the shave ice the texture is sooooooo fluffy however I feel like their flavors could use some help but the almond joy is pretty good.

Got the Lava Flow with ice cream and snow cap. It was delicious! 😋 It was plenty big enough for two to share.

Absolutely delicious! We got Lava Flow and I can't remember the name of the other one, but it was strawberry, banana and mango. We added the ice cream scoop on the bottom, highly recommended. I don't eat regular shaved ice, they make me so sick and just honestly aren't great imo, but this one I could eat and loved so much. It was hard to just pick 2, I wanted to try so many other flavors, they all looked delicious. Put this one on your must do list!

Wailua Shaved Ice is hands down the best shaved ice I’ve ever had—anywhere. If any other shaved ice shop tried Wailua here in Kauai, they’d have to completely rethink what they’re doing. Whatever you order, get it with a foam top and a snow cap. Thank me later.

Excellent service, delicious food, and quick service! I loved my pork cha sui fried rice and beef broccoli. We really enjoyed our dinner and hope to come back again soon!

Good comfort food place to get cooked veggie! I enjoyed the egg drop soup a lot. The garlic bok choy was good, although it was cut to too small pieces. The wonton soup and broccoli with scechuan sauce was ok.

Service was superb!! Our server was amazing: brought food out blazing hot and freshly made, water glasses were always topped off and wait for food was reasonable. Now to the food. Lots of very flavorful good food. Price is very good for quantity and quality of food. Overall yes I’d eat here again and bonus. As we sat there we saw an older lady come to pick up a to go order and the servers carried everything out for her, now that’s service!

The food was absolutely delicious. I had the teriyaki steak which was great and the fried Chicken combo meal with kimchi and rice. It was very good

Later lunch bit we both enjoyed clean plate club. The CHAR SUI was excellent above my last three tries at other restaurants. I would recommend this everytime. I paired it with Chicken Katsu and fried rice. This was a great find and I enjoyed this meal.

Apparently, it is the best Chinese food in Kauai. It wasn't hard to believe. We kept it simple. Only ordered noodles and an appetizer. The food was decent, and the staff were friendly and approachable. Very resonable price. I will return again with a bigger appetite.

I judge a place based on their beef chow fun. If it's done we'll, they got skills. Well, they got skills. Should be on your go-to list of places to eat in Lihue. Fast, hot, big portions. Chee hoo!

Squirt bottles on each table to keep the chickens away provided lots of entertainment as my kids squirted each other and sometimes chickens who got too close. The concept is weird to me… sushi and burritos and burgers. I went with a burger and two kids got sushi burritos. I felt like my burger tasted a bit like sushi and while I like sushi I didn’t want it to mix with my burger. My kids who got burritos thought they were ok. Service was great. The girls working were super personable and friendly. Sitting outdoor was nice. For me it just wasn’t my style mixing foods so I wouldn’t return but my food was ok.

So glad this was our first meal on Kauai! 🍔😋 Grass fed beef stands out - you can taste the difference from other burger places, so fresh and juicy! Service was quick and friendly, in true island fashion! From the menu recommendations to the generous ketchup and sides we were very satisfied We had seen Kenji Burger on DDD show, so that's the first indicator that this spot was worth visiting We had the burgers, Truffle was delish. Hubby had the Hapa so had to take a bite = so much flavor 😋 and good big portions We'll be back to try the sushi burrito! 🤙

This was our first meal and really woke up our taste buds for our trip. We sat outside and the food was ready before we could finish talking. The fries were extremely yummy and the burgers were delicious.

Wanted to get a good burger and this looked like a good option. The staff was great, letting us know there would be a 30-40 minute wait for our food due to a backup of orders. We took the chance though that may be a bit less, and it was. Probably ended up being only 10-15 minutes at the most. Burgers were very good and had a fresh taste. We tried the Deep Fried Gyoza as a side which were very good for something a bit different other than fries. Only issue was parking which is pretty limited. Best to just park over at the Safeway and take the short walk across the street like we did.

This was a delicious burger place that filled us up after a big hike! Their burgers were mega sauced up and juicy if you enjoy that, and the furikake fries were fresh and delish. The outdoor seating in the back was very cute and we were entertained by a family of chicks (no feeding them though!😂). Overall good vibes and reliable hearty food.

The burgers and loco moco were delicious. The right amount of flavor and seasonings. Burgers were very tasty and the sauce either the ponzu or plantation sauce (like thousand island) added a good flavor. Kenji is a must stop while on the island.

[From the archives] Was seriously looking forward to this place as many of my legit, local friends highly recommended it. Was unfortunately disappointed. Corned beef hash tasted watery and straight out of the can. Hamburger steak was just ok. I want to give it another try though. Hopefully, it was just off that day.

Service without a smile. :( Unfriendly waitress who liked to drop the food and drinks on the table. Food had no presentation but was decent. Cafeteria style seat yourself with menus. Could be so much better if staff were friendly and smiled at all. We had such good things to say about Mark's place that I was confident about Dani's. Totally not worth it.

Quiet local diner, accepts all major credit cards. Prices are pretty reasonable for being an island restaurant. I had the moco loco which was good, their pepper water is very good, I recommend trying it on your food if you come here, adds a nice kick to your meal.

Some of the best loco moco I've had here on the island! Service was quick. It's always a good thing when you walk in at 10a on a Friday and all the tables are almost full and there's still people pouring in. (That's the bacon cheeseburger loco moco - not picture: Portuguese sausage and pork patty - all of it was so ridiculous tasty) thanks for a great meal! (Also recommended to me by a local.)

While the breakfast menu shows it ends at 11 am, you can still order anything on it except french toast and pancakes. The server at this restaurant is rude and charged us for two "side dishs" ($8.00) when all we wanted were add ons ($2.00). The food is overpriced for the amount and quality you get. The restaurant interior is bleak and run down. The washrooms were also very dirty.

Eeeeeh...it's so so. Nothing that Wows at this place. Food was mediocre and service was below average. Kind of rude and just not pleasant. There is another establishment literally a couple hundred feet away that as well worth the visit. I'm sure the locals like the spot however as a tourist I really wouldn't recommend wasting your time or money here. Also. This restaurant charges almost a 4% up-charge to use a credit card.

A lovely mom&pop style restaurant with good prices and food. Only one waitress but she was quick and efficient. Many locals were eating here as well so it may have escaped a lot of tourists!

Everything was amazing. We eat a lot of sushi and poke any chance we get. We were disappointed by all the other places we tried. We were so sad this place was so close to our hotel and we discovered it for our last meal but what a great way to finish the week. Unique rolls. Delicious cocktails. Affordable. Tasty. Super friendly service. Indoor and outdoor seating. Will make this a stop for every return visit.

The place was so good, we went back a week later for a second trip! First visit there was live music which in my opinion, was far too loud inside and overbearing, but the food made up for it. Both times, food was fresh and awesome! Extra props for having so many options for vegetarians/vegans. Personal favorites were the tempura veggies, tempura tofu, tempura veggie roll, and the miso soup was great. My parents really enjoyed their traditional sushi rolls also. Also love that the green tea is complementary! Overall, we’ll certainly be back and highly recommend you give it a try!

Delicious sushi rolls, great for an anniversary dinner. We gravitate towards tempura rolls, and they do such a great job with it just as much as the raw stuff. Nice camera / monitor setup over the sushi bar to see your rolls being made. Can't wait to come back.

Had my birthday dinner here last night with some friends and everything was fantastic. The food, the service, the ambiance, all of it. The slider appetizer was amazing. All of the rolls we tried were bomb (especially the Lava Lava roll). They even put a candle in the dessert that we ordered. I high recommend this spot and will definitely be back!

Full moon was very good. I would come back for that. Butter me up was ok. Tuna is cooked which makes the roll a little dry. Hamachi was awesome. Service was good. They have a camera over the sushi chef so you can see him making the rolls.

I admit, after reading all of the reviews on this place, I was apprehensive, I am glad I went. Fed a family of five for about 100.00. Not the best sushi I have ever had, but it was good. Refills are charged. Waitress was very quiet, and chef's acted like they were just doing their job. Funky jazz set a unique flavor for the place. Kind of made it feel like I was slumming. But not in a bad way.

I ordered the huli huli chicken with mixed veggies, Yukon mashed potatoes, and focaccia—it was phenomenal! The chicken was tender and flavorful, the mashed potatoes were creamy and delicious, and the focaccia was the perfect touch. Everything was cooked to perfection and beautifully balanced. I definitely recommend dining here while on Kauaʻi!

Where to begin. The food looks pretty but that's about all I can say. Portions are very small and we waited 20 minutes for food we ate in 5 minutes. Just not much to it. We left hungry and unsatisfied. We won't eat here again. There's too many better options. Like the Italian restaurant down the road. The atmosphere was nice. Service was just OK. I had the huli huli chicken which was like 5 small strips of breast off the bone....the rest was bone. The korean "short ribs" were not your typical short ribs but thin tough fatty pieces of meat that were mostly bone. Way overpriced for the quality and quantity of food you get.

Food was excellent, the only flaw was that without a reservation it took 30 minutes to get seated. They only had one server for a Saturday night. We ordered the Catch of the Day - Mahi Mahi and the Udon Noodles with Seared Ahi.

For the most part, food was good. Had one error on the egg order but the staff was amazing! Frank and JB are great! When it did get busy, some people just talked too loud. With my wife, had the Steak and Eggs the First day and the French Polynesian Toast, then the KBR Hash and the Omelet.

Great food and service, the patio is views of a beautiful koi pond. The food was very good, I had the pork chop and house mash. We also enjoyed the mango crem brulee, everything was cooked to perfection and our server was wonderful. Thank you!

The breakfast menu was excellent, food was fresh and well prepared. Atmosphere was excellent and service was excellent. I enjoyed my meal and will return. Though the buffet costs $36.65 I think it was a good deal overall considering the food quality and competitive pricing among other diners.

Our server Lexi was super knowledgeable and very accommodating. We had the fresh catch, seared ahi and a Caesar salad and it was all really good.

I had the coconut shrimp dinner entree with rice and vegetables. Everything was so good. My other two dinner companions enjoyed their food as well. Plenty of free parking, which is always a plus. The staff was very nice as well. I left my ear piece in the booth, I called and they held it for me until I came back.

Chill vibes. Arrived too late to try the famous french toast (late breakfast ends at 1pm) so we had the Lilikoi Daquiri, Lilikoi burger with onion rings, Paradise Heat burger with fries and the Ube Cheesecake. Everything was well executed though my hubby prefers his burger cooked on the medium side. Special shout out to T.J. who was super attentive and welcoming. He made really good recommendations and brought food out quickly. Gotta take a moment for the Ube cheesecake, Creme Brûlée, and Lilikoi cheesecake which I thoroughly enjoyed in that order. My hubby who considers himself a cheesecake connoisseur raved about the Ube. It was perfectly balanced and smooth. He isn’t necessarily a fan of crème brûlée but said this was the best he’s ever had.

Whether you are visiting or living on the island, Lilikoi is one of the best places for good food and relaxing vibes. Getting a booth next to the windows overlooking the ocean. The hustle and bustle of cars passing by. Plus the excellent service and great food! Juan was out server and he was delightful, fun, and really kind. We had a Loco Moco (we ate it before we decided to take a pic, but it's delicious), and got the incredible Lilikoi Cheesecake to go. Don't sleep on this lovely place with pastries, desserts, great food, service and more!

Had two drinks and the vegetarian nachos — super easy option with black beans and plenty of flavor. Great service and lots of TVs for football. Sat at the bar and everything was fast, friendly, and good. Kudos to the bartender!

Came here to watch the football game and drink some beers. Fish tacos were great and loco moco was nice! Staff was very accommodating by synchronizing the televisions for the game. GO BILLS!

We picked this from a random pick from Google breakfast near me. This place offers great food,service, and atmosphere. Alexis, our server was on top of everything. The pace was right on . So if you're looking for food, this place offers all 3 . Breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Check out their baked good items. I had the wygu Loco moco. My wife had macadamia nut, coconut pancakes.

Nice little spot to grab some grub. We hit it up after a rum tasting and were pleased with the meal. Second level of a multi-unit complex with all kinds of little eateries and shops. Open air dining that may have a good view during the day with fans to keep air circulating. Food was typical bar/grill fair (steaks, loco moco, burgers, salads, apps, drinks) and like many places we visited, drinks were very tasty but not very strong, and the food was executed decently. Everything was good, just not excellent. So, I would totally eat there again as the food portions were good value, the drinks were tasty, the atmosphere was nice. We had an app, 2 entrees, and two alcoholic beverages.

A great place to have a meal and listen to some live music. We had 3 meals at this place within our week on Kauai.

The best happy hour on the island, $.25 wings! TV screens for both indoor and outdoor seating. The food is good and the staff is friendly, one of my favorite places to go on the island.

Great service, decent food in a bar setting. I like the rustic look and feel. The nachos are impressive in quantity but lack the amazing factor in flavor. They are good to be sure just short of amazing. The steak is cut-up cube steak, which is fine if there was more flavor. The presentation was poor, all of the nacho cheese was on on side and buried. But you can't miss with grilled jalapeños and onions, nice touch. The service was outstanding.

This is located inside the mall and has a large seating area inside and outside and clean bathrooms! The food was delicious! This would also be a great spot for a large party and to sit outdoors in comfy seats! We just happened on them as they were close enough to where we were coming from and where we had to meet for our helicopter tour. Both the husband and I LOVED our food, we had: Nobu Poke Nachos and the Ahi+Avocado Poke. Service was a little slow as there was only one server/hostess.

This place is fantastic! First off, the service was excellent. Our waitress was friendly and helpful where we couldn't decide what we wanted. Then, when we ordered the Surfer Nachos appetizer (see the picture), she was nice enough to bring it to us before we ordered our entrees, because we had no idea how huge they were, and it drastically altered our order. Now to the food: the nachos were delicious and more than enough to go around. We also got some Jaws Fish Tacos that most of us agreed were the best fish tacos we've ever had! The pulled pork sandwich was, in my wife's words, "the best I've ever had anywhere." Finally, we went when there was some live music and it was pretty good too! All in all, I highly recommend Kalapaki Joe's and will certainly eat there again when we return.

Thoroughly impressed with this place and so happy we found it! If you like alcohol and food, this is the place for you. Unfortunately, we discovered this gem on our last day, but we perfectly made happy hour. Their happy hour and general pricing and portions are BY FAR the best we found. We ordered two giant mai tai’s, and 3 appetizers for $25. Plus, this was the largest portion of fries (well worth it happy hour and non happy hour pricing). Note, when we went the windows were open and fans were going, but there was no AC. It was warm and humid. Overall, great place, great food, great pricing!

The dinner menu gives you a lot of options to try some local dishes. Kalua pork and cabbage is juicy and has a good smokey flavor to it. Fresh local fruit is an option as one of your sides. The sweets change. If you are lucky you can get the ice cream pie! They are a highlight to finish off your meal. The service is attentive and friendly. They give you the family island feel.

Great Food. I had the Steak and shrimp scampi with mashed potatoes, side salad and fruit. I chose jello for my dessert. The price was inexpensive for all of that yummy food. Can't wait to bring family there.

Lihue Barbeque Inn is a more than delightful discovery. I could simply "highly recommend" it, but the secret is out now. I have had almost every item on the menu. My guests have had the rest. We all appreciate the 'upscale simplicity'. It's sometimes full, but never 'crowded'. Service is fast, efficient and most importantly, friendly. The owners have been at this family restaurant business, and it's like a well oiled clock- run with perfection! The greatest perks, are the meals! Included, in the very modest prices, are your beverages and desserts! My favorite is the seared ahi salad. Chicken katsu, teriyaki steak, Japanese traditional comfort food, soups, and sandwiches are all found here. If you prefer the 'Star Wars bar' scene, this is not the place for you. They are located on Kress Street in the heart of downtown Lihue.

Seriously the best Kalua pork I have ever had. Sweet, down to earth staff. Authentic Hawaiian food. We will come here every time we visit Kauai.

My wife found this place on a list of local favorites. We picked this place mostly because it was close to the hotel. So. Glad. We. Did. We loved it so much we went back the next night. Two nights out of the three we will be on the island we have eaten at the same place. The pride in the cook's eyes at my joy was a sign she takes it seriously.

This is such a cozy place. Our young waitress was so nice, attentive and quick; very friendly staff. The ladies' bathroom is so clean and neat. I'm so impressed!

This place has THE BEST garlic shrimp, with nice chunky garlic and not too much sauce, wish we got a full plate of it! The chicken was nice and crispy and the laulau was very flavorful. Was hoping to sit and enjoy the food but it's a take-out only spot. That's okay, we were able to take our food to the beach nearby and eat it there which was nice. Can't wait to go back!

Looking for a true local island food? This place is recommend to me by a staff at one of the hotels I was staying at nearby. :-) Is a true local favorite with the locals. So favorite they still go old school and still accept cash. They don’t have an indoor seating. You order right from the window to take to go for a picnic or to your home. I recommend getting their famous chicken or Kalbi. I even heard the prime rib is delicious here. It’s so close to the airport you can take some to go with you on your flight back home

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ After spending 7 nights on Kauai and trying a lot of amazing food, the best meal I had was actually my last one before heading to the airport. I stopped at Smiley’s Local Grinds and ordered the Pork Laulau, and it was incredible. The pork was tender and juicy, wrapped in flavorful taro and ti leaves that gave it a rich, earthy taste. The portions were generous and the prices very reasonable, especially for the quality. I’m honestly worried I won’t be able to find anything this good back home. A definite must-try before leaving the island!

This is my favorite restaurant on Kauai! The kalbi ribs are some of the most delicious things I have ever eaten, but everything I’ve eaten there is excellent (including the garlic shrimp pictured here). There is no seating area next to the restaurant, but the food comes out quick. We sat in our car to enjoy the meal.

We tried fried oyster, side of garlic butter shrimps, and deep fried ahi bones. Every dish is so fresh and tasty. Highly recommend their daily menu items also.

I don't mind some pink to my burger but this was full raw and the chicken had hair in the fried batter. It wasn't busy either so it was just kitchen being careless. Disappointing.

The food is amazing! We had the Kalbi & garlic shrimp and Kalbi & smileys chicken with garlic chili. All of it was delicious although I dont think the chicken had any garlic chili on it. $29 a plate though.

Best Thai food!!! I had sheimp friedrice and pad see u beef drink thai tea. Their food is amazing. Its at upstairs 2nd floor. They have a balcony seating and inside seats too. Its very clean great for romantic dinner or friends hangout. Great place for family with kids. They have kids menu too. My daughter love the kids katsu!!!

Fresh delicious Thai food. There's not much on this island but we eat here every time we are on the island because this restaurant's quality rivals Thai restaurant in Thai Town California. Balance flavors, the spicy level is flexible, and everything is freshly made including the Thai ice tea. We've eaten most of the menu by now. Price is island pricing but they are generous with their portions. Outside seating are the best because you get the ocean and valley views and the island breeze is calming. The quality of sushi here is what I consider mid range. Not premium but not low. Overall, good pricing.

If you're in the area, and you like/love sushi, I'd stop looking for places and just come here. My daughter is a huge sushi fan and she LOVED it. I'm a 'meh' sushi fan and I really liked it.

We were immediately sat down and service was quick from there. The servers tended to refills and amenities often, and the menu had some decent options out there. The Pad Kee Mao was flavorful and sweet, and the sushi was fresh and tasty. Definitely something you should try if you're in the area.

Friendly and attentive staff, fresh sushi, and decent thai food. I thought the portions for the Bami Moo could have been a bit larger and noodles a little too al dente (and I prefer al dente), but our service made up for it!

we came on the christmas day and this is one of the only restaurant open. - the queue management was bad. we were told we were the first party and needed to wait for 20 mins, but a group of white men walked in and they were seated immediately in front of us. not sure if this is due to holidays though - food was mediocre at best. thai fried rice was bland, spicy pork belly rice was too salty, and the chicken wings and papaya salad were just not that good. - frozen pineapple was very good though - the service was quite absent. we were not tended to for a while, and we didn’t have water until the entrees were all served. when we sit down, the chair was dirty with food leftovers and the dishes had random things on them. but this might also be due to the holidays

TOURIST SCAM!!! We were charged 35% tip for a party of 6. Well above the standard 20% of the area. I'm sure that isn't always the case, but make sure you inquire about the fee, before ordering. Other than that the staff was pleasant and the food was good--but not worth that price tag.

My favorite quick seafood shop when I fly into Kauai. Their variety of cone sushi is one of my favorites, and they have amazing selecting of poke (fish, shellfish, tofu, etc.), and fried items like calamari or oyster. Very delicious and reasonably priced. If you want lunch or delicious nutritious snacks, this is a place to come!

I asked the bellboy Bryce at the Marriott Kauai Beach Resort for his recommendation and he suggested Konohiki Seafood. We got takeout and ordered several different kinds of poke along with their ginger fried chicken. Everything was delicious. The poke was fresh and well prepared, and the chicken had great flavor and texture. Just a heads up for other visitors—this is counter service only, and everything is paid for up front, including small things like paper plates and utensils. We’re not used to being charged for those back home, so that felt a little surprising. Still, the quality of the food made it a worthwhile stop and we’re glad we got a local recommendation.

Man this place can hook you up with all kinds of great fish options. It’s fresh and tons of variety. Also keep a lookout for the deal of the day and their desserts. But if it’s your first time I recommend stepping to the side while you check the menu out and letting the regulars pass through so you don’t hold up the line.

Great poke and despite having a line it was quick to get your food. Got the 2 scoop poke bowl and a quarter of ocean salad. I really enjoyed the spicy ahi and the shrimp and crab butter airlines. Plus there's a parking lot, so it's easy to get in and out.

Visiting from Oahu for the week. We came in mostly looking for grab n go foods because we were going holo-holo to Hanalaei so just wanted finger foods to eat. The Maki sushi was ono as well as the ginger chicken, spam musubi had a healthy piece of spam with teri sauce. Also had the spicy ahi inari (fiyah ball?) and fried won ton...very crispy, good flavor. All were good choices! Loooove their Liliko'i Chiffon pie! Wr had to come in before we left to pick up 2 more liliko'i chiffons and a Banana Cream pie. They are both super ono and the crust was really flaky. The Chocolate Cream Pie was also good but my husband is not a fan of that particular crust (cinnamon-y flavor) so 🤪. Nonetheless...support the local mom & pop businesses and enjoy the ono grinds!

Me and two friends went to the first time to the sushi house super delicious and really unique delivery method for your food. I think it’s really good service is great staff are really friendly and show the newbies how to run the electronic menu with a really cool train that puts the food directly in front of you. I highly recommend

Fun place, tasty food. The salmon sushi was terrific, rainbow roll was pretty good. My husband REALLY liked the spicy crab. You place your order on a screen, and your food comes whooshing out on a fast conveyer belt. There are kid friendly options, and it's fun to watch the food come straight to your table. The booths were not the most comfortable because the seats had no padding, but it wasn't too bad. The service was minimal, but not much was needed after our drink orders arrived. We will go again some time!

Awesome sushi. With great prices. The only draw back is that they're not very friendly. Your sushi is delivered by either the waitress if you order rolls. Or by a cool little toy train delivery system that's pretty neat if you order something other then rolls. 🚆.

This is my new favorite sushi place! The conveyor belt and ordering iPad is slicker than most I've seen, the prices are very reasonable, and the sushi is good for the price! The California tempura roll (in the picture) was soooo good!

Really cool modern Japanese sushi experience! Never thought I'd experience one of these without actually going to Japan, some of the actual runway belt and the screens were a little dirty, also the bathroom was out of order, but the overall experience was great and the food was good!

Ordered ala cart, it was a large amount. If you love Kauyuk call in ahead. Very oily n fatty. I think they use pork belly. It was good tasty just lots of fat.

My wife and I each ordered a 1 choice plate with an entree and chow mein. The pepper chicken and the coconut shrimp were both great. The portion sizes were also very good. We were both pleasantly surprised and full, only issue being the very limited supply of water

Coconut shrimp was terrible- overcooked rubbery mess, almost spoiled sour taste. I feel like they knew it was bad because they gave an unusually big portion compared to the 2 pieces of chicken I got as a 2nd choice.

I went to No 1 twice on my trip! They had some of the larger tables blocked off for groups, there's a selection of prepared dishes (like Panda Express, but not a national chain), AND you could order some entrees that were cooked to order, so it was one of my top picks with a group of 6 people. I had the chicken katsu and it was made fresh in the back and was delicious! Another member of our group had the fish and it took significantly longer, but he said it was delicious. (Fresh fishy in Hawaii) I had a Kirkland dragonfruit drink and ... it tasted like any other red-flavored liquid. I was sad that their bathroom said No Public Restroom. I don't remember other restaurants not having a bathroom. The second time I went, I didn't get a drink, just in case. You can reach the Tip Top Pokemon Go Pokestop from No 1.

Decided to give this place a shot while we waited for our flight. Overall, above average for an airport restaurant as far as the food goes. Pricing was to be expected. Service was a bit slow, but it was also pretty busy.

My husband and I went here after the sports bar at the airport said they couldn't accommodate my gluten free needs and suggested going here. The only item I could eat here was the grilled chicken Caesar salad without croutons for $18.49 and my husband had the $19.99 loco moco. I appreciated that the waitress knew that the food was prepared in a shared fryer before I even asked which was why I could only have the salad. I would have preferred being able to get a hot meal and it was pricey for what it was, but I'm glad I got to have something to eat prior to boarding. Visited: January 2023.

Food was ok, definitely overpriced but there weren't any other open options when we were here. My husband enjoyed the hummus but the pita looked pretty greasy to me. We would have given 2 stars but my husband was very happy that they had recently filled the Tabasco sauce at the table so they get extra credit for that.

Reviews worried me, but not many options when waiting on a late night flight. This place was fine, we had the spicy poke nachos and Hawaiian sampler platter. Prices weren't really worse than anywhere else on the island. It was fun to try a couple native dishes that we missed! Overall decent food and happy to have somewhere to eat and wait for our flight.

This place gets 2 stars instead of 1 because the waitress was nice. We asked for water and were told they don’t do water cups but we could purchase bottled water. The food came out fast, but that is most likely because it’s microwaved. The boneless wings were just chicken nuggets and had hardly any Buffalo sauce on them. The fries were room temp and not salted. Paid $5 for a sprite and never got a refill. Just eat somewhere before coming to the airport

Really enjoyed my late evening experience at the restaurant thanks to the friendly bartender, Markus. In a very personable manner, we chatted about life and dipped into music and religion. Good employees are what makes a joint worth returning to and I’ll drop in again. The food came out FAST and I liked that the quesadillas came with real guacamole! Two types of IPA on tap—a Hanalei and Lagunitas, so plenty to enjoy! Thank you!

This was place is the bomb and very likely the best sushi I have had in my entire life.. We got the ginger crazy roll, Godzilla roll, and the softshell crab roll. I really appreciated the warmness and friendliness from Jam, it made for a good customer experience.Each sushi role was equally as good as the other so you’d have to try it and see for yourself as this is one place where I could actually see EVERY thing on the menu being delicious.

We always search for the best places to eat while traveling and we always stop at this place when in Kauai. The food is really fresh and incredibly delicious. We’re sashimi people but love the Okinawa sweet potato roll and the soft shell crab. We go twice each trip at least. Service is exceptional as well!

Absolutely love this place! Kaua‘i Sushi Station has such a cute outdoor food truck vibe with covered seating and little pagodas super Kaua‘i-coded and perfect for a chill meal. The sushi is fresh, flavorful, and always plated so beautifully. Prices are really fair for sushi on island, especially for the quality and presentation. I always go for the unagi avocado roll and the soft shell crab roll both are unreal. 🍣 The staff’s always friendly, and the vibe is just easygoing and local. Definitely a must-stop sushi spot if you’re on island! 🌺✨

The sushi station was amazing! Honestly I wouldn't want to get sushi anywhere else after having this! The sushi was perfectly fresh and the flavors were all there! bomb. the sushi was really fresh and delicious and what I would say would would be the epitome of fresh Hawaiian. sushi, had the hanalei rainbow roll along with the red dragon roll and both had fresh flavors and deliciousness and fresh fish and the dragon was very spicy but still tasty, had the miso soup which was a bit different and healthier and had the soft shell crab salad which you can probably skip. it's all about the sushi here. would come back for a red dragon roll

Where do I start? Food was okay, at least it was hot. But the atmosphere and service was the worst, if I could do negative stars I would. I am so upset with myself for even leaving a tip for this place. Christine was rude and lied. We asked for a key to use the restroom and she said "someones probably in there", mind you we had been sitting at the table for 20 minutes and we did not see a SINGLE PERSON walk by to go into that restroom, so obviously she didnt want us to use it, even though I had a 9 year old who needed to go. Such terrible place and would not recommend it. Pizza Hut really needs to look into this specific location and either shut it down or fire every single person, rehire and follow up to make sure they are actually performing to their standards, but hey, for all we know pizza hut may not have any standards as a franchise.

Well the images on the website are all a lie. It’s not a sit down restaurant anymore really. It’s more of a take and go. There is a new wall they put up for less seating. I think they wanted to get rid of the restaurant portion. It looks like a storage area. There were no fountain drinks. Just giant liter soda bottles. Service was ok but not the best. Food was great. Would not take my kids here or family.

This is not a pizza but fatty American frozen “cake”. Surprising that this kind of food can be named as Pizza.

Almost all Pizza Huts became takeout stores in our area. The last all-you-can-eat buffet closed many years ago, so when we saw it available here in Kauai, we jumped at the chance to try it. Sadly, it wasn't as good as I remembered. There were few customers and some of the pizza was dried out. Some of it looked the same but saltier than I remembered. The salad bar was quite decent, but the cinnamon bread sticks were no longer part of the buffet.

Pizza Hut sent out emails with coupons for a free lg. One-topping pizza on my next visit if I order now. I took them at their word and ordered that day. On my next encounter with Pizza Hut. I attempted to use the coupon for the free large one-topping pizza and I even entered the code that was in my email but I wasn't able to order the free pizza through my app like it said. I even went to the only Pizza Hut here on Kauai and they said they weren't sure why I couldn't order my free pizza nor did they attempt to offer me my free pizza even though they can see the coupon promising me a free pizza. This is aggravating. As a customer of Pizza Hut for the last 50 years, I have bought hundreds of pizzas. It is the principal of being promised something and then you are seemingly tricked out of it. I think my next order will go to Domino's. They are up front with me every time and I have no issues using their coupons. Hopefully Pizza Hut. We'll see how this upsets their loyal customers and make it right when these things happen. Sincerely, Unhappy Customer

Perfect meal for a lazy pool day. You order at the bar and they deliver the food to you at your lounge chair by the pool. We ordered a fish wrap and it was ok, the season fries were good! Definitely hit the spot. Service was good and they give out bubbles/lollipops/play doh to the kids.

It is a good pool side bar and grill. It is a little on the expensive side but that’s to be expected for what it is. The server was very quick and charming. I ordered the poke and the pulled pork quesadilla with pineapple salsa (sounds kind of weird but was delicious). Both were very good. The drinks were tasty and strong and the view is beautiful.

Nothing much to say. Just the pool bar of the hotel. Food was blunt, service was so and so and the prices are out of this world.

Met up w/ my cuzzy here who was staying at KBR for a pool day. We had Amanda and Marla as servers and they were great! Very personable and friendly. The Passionfruit, vodka and mint blended drink is delicious!! Not sure if it's on the menu but Marla made it for us and it needs to be on the menu.

Great beach bar, Amanda is so nice. Many veggie and vegan options. There is an happy hour which is nice.

I only tried the fries, but they were good. The staff at the grill/pool area were super friendly. My only big disappointment was paying for two upgraded margaritas and two virgin lava flows that turned out to be about $111. I feel that the bartender on staff for that day totally upcharged us, Each margarita was $35 plus 18% gratuity already included, Served in an 8 ounce plastic cup by no means worth $35!!! To put it in perspective. We had a whole 4 meals 4 drinks and 2 added salad bars, That included lava flow and alcoholic drink, lobster tail, macadamia crust fish, ribs&chicken, chicken tenders meal and calamari appetizer etc. for $230 at Dukes. The comparison was nothing compared to $110 tab for four drinks at the driftwood bar and grill!!! I wish I had kept both receipts to show the atrocity of the drinks cost lol.

$14+ small drinks. But they're good and the view/environment can't be beat. So just know you're paying for it. Had to initiate contact with the bartender. She passed by 2 or 3 times helping people that arrived after us before I had to get her attention. They were not busy at all, so not sure what happened but she was nice and made a good drink.

One of the best Japanese cuisine restaurants on Kauai. I loved Katsudon & Tonkatsu (Pork Cutlets) there. Also both Chirashi and Nigiri sushi were good!

From the reviews we weren't expecting much, and weren't disappointed. Could almost give 3 stars because it did meet my expectations. Tempura was just one big ball of veggies. California roll fell apart, not sushi rice and poorly wrapped. Soft shell crab roll much better rolled, but not sure how fresh. Water ice cold and delicious. Not licensed but can bring your own alcohol. Saw lots of donburis going by, looked pretty good. Lots of noodle dishes and they may be best bet. Pretty crowded, basic cafe.

Don't be deceived by the nondescript exterior (and interior) - the food is quite good. This restaurant shares its space with the Tip-Top Motel diner and check-in area, which sounds like a recipe for weirdness (lol), but dishes like the Hamachi Kama are totally on point (in addition to being twice the portion sizes offered in major cities on the mainland). Mostly locals here - easy to see why, it's a low-maintenance gem.

Best Sushi on Kauai. Authentic, fresh, actually served Japanese style. The owner/sushi chef actually trained in Japan, this is not somebody fronting, homeboy knows his stuff. Side dishes and entry's are legit too.

4.25 Stars! Ok. This place is like a evening pop up. During the day it’s Tip Top Cafe. At night, they serve chicken katsu 4.5 Stars! It’s really good. They also have good greens for salad but they really don’t have salad dressing options besides their house thousand. 4 Stars. Sushi is old school Kauai style. I suggest you go sashimi style over sushi. You’ll enjoy the fish better that way. 4 Stars. Very casual, diner style at its best. Bring the whole family, I’ll be that guy with my family laughing and enjoying the good times.

This place is a hidden local gem!! They are known for their bbq beef ribs but I got the kauai garlic shrimp. It was head and tail on and peeled. It was simply an explosion of shrimp bursting with its natural ocean flavor and something only Kauai shrimp can deliver. It swam in garlic butter sauce that was best soaked up with the rice. I can't wait to go back and try their ribs and other entrees like ribeye steak, kalbi and Loco moco. I'm sure everything they make is super ono!

Who made this place? Because… hailey’s tropical barbecue…. 10/10. - Cajun Shrimp so fresh and tender not over seasoned - Beef Ribs BBQ, tender and amazing bbq sauce - Pork belly nicely chard and grilled. Best food in Kauai so far.

Harley's Tropical Barbeque is a must if you are super hungry, like standard food or local food and like generous portions that are prepared like they are serving their own friends and family. The service (Hi, Tessa!) is the warmest and friendliest you'll ever see on Kauai. Our office loves to call in lunch takeout orders which are always hot and ready exactly when they say they will be (usually 20 min. for our group). The food and service are consistently good. They also have covered outdoor lanai tables that's great for meeting up with friends for lunch or dinner. Their prices are the best you'll find anywhere on the island for the quality meal you'll receive. Located in Puhi Industrial, they're a local favorite hidden gem.

Easily top 5 steaks I’ve ever had. The ribeye was perfectly cooked and the garlic butter put it over the top. Everything they served was amazing. Best hidden gem on the island, hands down. The prices were great even for the steak.

Was craving a lunch plate while visiting Kaui and this place did not disappoint. The Kalbi ribs were tender and juicy. The mac salad was great. They make their teriyaki sauce in-house which gave it a unique and authentic taste. The place was away from the tourist areas and a lot of locals visited when I was there. Appears to be a small mom and pop shop. Service was a slow, especially since it was during the busy lunch rush. Our dishes were siting for a few minutes before they called me but that’s ok. On the food alone, I would recommend this spot to anyone that loves lunch plate meals. Mahalo!

A small "order at the window" place in a warehouse area. There was never a crowd while we were there, but there was a steady stream of one person at a time (looked to be locals). The bun on the mahimahi sandwich was good, and the fish was not dried out. The fish strip plate (fries and batter-fried fish) were cooked perfectly. On the menu, the fish was listed as mahi but she let me know that it would be pollock instead (but the price was the same). We'd seen a menu listing online with pulled pork but they said no, they don't have that anymore. That seemed odd for a barbecue place.

Really good and authentic Japanese food. Really enjoyed everything from the miso soup to the main dish. Even the side plate fries were delicious. It's a little funny that beer is cheaper than a soda, but I'm not going to complain haha. Recommend checking this place out. There was about a 30 minute wait, but it was well worth it. Also, I had left something behind and they were closed. But the dishwasher grabbed it and saved the day.

The staff are very friendly and the interior is clean. It seems to be a popular spot for locals. Most dishes are reasonably priced, but the one I ordered felt a bit expensive. Unlike many places in Hawaii, they only offer white rice (no brown rice option). Parking is limited, but you can usually find free parking nearby. Food can be a little salty, but overall a good experience.

I had been to Kiibo a few times before their recent remodel. The food and service were always great, especially since authentic Japanese food is hard to find when we visit Kauaʻi (from Maui). I was back on Kauaʻi last week, and I remembered that their social media said they were now open for lunch. So, we decided to go... ...EXCELLENT CHOICE! The remodel is absolutely stunning—well-lit, chic, with an authentic and welcoming feeling. Something you'd expect to see in Honolulu or even Japan. The food was also excellent. Something as seemingly simple as good zaru soba and tempura are amazingly difficult to find in Hawaiʻi in general (the soba is often mushy, and the tempura is more thickly battered okazu style). But, at Kiibo, the soba was perfectly chewy...it, along with the tempura, was basically identical to what I often eat in Japan. My dining partner ordered the katsu and said it was basically the same what he has gotten in Japan...just a little larger. If you're on Kauaʻi, and you're craving delicious authentic Japanese food, I highly recommend Kiibo!

Our family likes to support local spots and picked this amazing restaurant out of the blue. We had an absolute amazing dinner. The udon was my youngest daughter’s favorite. My older daughter almost finished her giant cali roll. My father in law really enjoyed the chicken. Thank you again! Overall such an amazing meal. This restaurant has been open since the 70’s y’all! We found this place while looking for less touristy spots on the island and we're so glad we did. The food was seriously delicious! The beef teriyaki dish was perfect. The sauce is top quality, it was sweet and light...I wish I could bottle it up and take it home. The shrimp tempura is a must order. Overall the best meal we've had in a while. We are already planning to go back next week!

One of the best restaurants I've ever been to in the world! Great food and staff! Came two nights in a row! Everything was delicious, whether the appetizers, entrees, ice cream, or tea. Had the katsudon, butterfish, and fried chicken, all of which were amazing! Best katsudon and butterfish I've ever had. This was a highlight of my trip! Will definitely come again when I'm back in Kauai.

Locally owned Chinese and BBQ. Ordered a delicious lunch for three of us. One has allergies to dairy and milk, and owners recommended BBQ chicken with rice and kimchee. Another has a gluten and spice issue, so they recommended grilled sea bass with lemon grass, rice, and fresh salad. Third person had garlic chicken. It is breaded and fried; it is tasty and fresh. Everything was made from scratch and ready in 15 minutes. Great for dining in or taking out. Variety of menu items. Lots of locals are frequent patrons. Owners have been there since 1999.

My wife and I ordered vegetable fried rice and fried chicken. It was so much food we couldn't finish it all. It was so good that it still tasted good cold the next morning. The lady that took our order and seated us was very nice and accommodating. I would definitely recommend this place for a good meal.

Ho Yeahhh!! Cheap eats and quality food. What could you asked for more? Little mom and pop hole in the wall. Some of the best yet cheapest chicken Katsu I've had on the island. Their Katsu sauce is more like the infamous duck sauce found in NYC hole in the walls, but they give you a whole bowls worth. Oh my goodness ami coming back for their other daily specials. 😎

STAY AWAY! Dishonest owner!!! A terrible experience. Check your receipt before paying. Kathy charged our family of 4 $15 over the food amount. When questioned about it she said there’s a $9 service charge, $4 for WATER, $2 for something I couldn’t understand. When I asked she said “no need tip, I already put in.” I said you don’t deserve a tip I just want to pay for my food. No extra charges. She said I have to pay more for water and the service charge because we asked for refills of WATER. She said the price of the food is not enough to stay in business and we had to pay for the dishwashing and bringing the food out to us. HORRIBLE SERVICE AND DISHONEST BILLING!

Found this spot on a whim during my 2 day visit to Kauai. This is a MUST try for a delicious lunch. It was worth every penny. The owners, husband and wife, are incredibly friendly. Definitely the best service I've had in a restaurant in some time. Go and enjoy!

2nd time eating Korean food and loved this place. Very close to the airport and so convenient since we were starving as it was past lunch time. Place is small but clean. Come early to get their fish items, as they were all finished by the time we ordered. Staff is friendly and works fast. Between the 6 of us we ordered: - chicken katsu - regular beef - spicy beef - 3 portions of bi bim bap Food was amazing. Great prices and portions!

A great little gem for lunch! The folks were friendly and everything tasted delicious. Enjoyed the medium lunch plates which came with an entree, rice, and 2 veg sides. We tried the beef bibimbap and fish and chicken katsu. There’s also a cute park across the street where we took our lunch.

Fish Katsu, Meat Jun, Mac salad, Tofu, and Seaweed Salad. So ono!!! That seaweed salad was the perfect balance to the plate!

Recent visit to Kauai and their Korean style dish with an island twist were AMAZING!!!! The Kalena special was my favorite because I could sample 3 to 4 main dish (Kalbi, meatjun, bbq chicken and pork belly) and loved how we can select three homemade sides. I selected the Mac salad, fish cakes, noodles and I got to taste the cucumber, eggplant plant and seaweed salad too! You know the place is good when lots of locals go there to eat!!!! It’s close to Lihue airport, but make sure you go there before 2 pm M-F only!!! CASH ONLY!!! OHANA definitely love what they do!!!!

Flavorful quick stop for take out or dine in if there are tables available. We stopped in approx 11:30a on a Friday. Didn’t see another non-local the whole time we were dining in. We were in the right spot to eat if we wanted something the locals love! Adobo pork, pork and peas, and fried fish were perfect. Not pictured was the spring roll I was so excited to eat I forgot and ate before taking pictures. Lol

Being Filipino, eating local Filipino food is a big treat. I lived in the islands so I know what local food means and what it tastes like. What you get here is home cooked. You order the food, pay for it and then find a place to eat. The atmosphere is not ideal but the breeze coming through the open window was fresh and cool! It's so Hawaii!

The BEST Filipino food. Don't hesitate, get in line and enjoy! Everything is great. We came back a second time just to be sure! Homemade taste won't disappoint!

Our kids were craving Filipino food. We went to Mama Lucy‘s and it was fantastic. The fish in the synigong was boneless, the fried chicken was crispy and juicy. And the adobo was flavorful. None of the food was oily. Overall great experience and great food! Incredible prices for the quantity as well. Thanks again, mama Lucy’s!

Very generous portions and the food was delicious. We got recommended this restaurant by our water tubing guide and it did not disappoint! Friendly service as well.
