Vietnamese restaurant
A Saigon Cafe is a beloved Vietnamese restaurant in Wailuku, Hawaii, known for its cozy and casual atmosphere. Since the early 1990s, it has been a favorite among locals and visitors alike. The restaurant offers authentic Vietnamese cuisine made with fresh ingredients, including seafood dishes, traditional banh hoi, and flavorful Vietnamese soup. With its friendly service and extensive menu, A Saigon Cafe is a must-visit spot for those looking to experience the best of Vietnamese dining on Maui.
Delicious food, highly recommend. The Vietnamese bouillabaise was interesting and had bold flavor. The salmon was the best. Tiger beer was on the menu, but was unfortunately out of stock. Green papaya salad was great, not to spicy and not overly seasoned with fish sauce.

Real Vietnamese cuisine, the workers were all either really friendly or funny! Food was so yummy we came here twice during our visit here
Tuyet P — Google review
Had fresh spring rolls and the oxtail lemongrass soup with a Vietnamese iced coffee. Wow, the oxtail soup was unlike anything I’ve ever had, and it was delicious. Normally a pho tai kinda guy and I’m glad I branched out, 10/10 would recommend.

This spot pretty much got Maui on it's Vietnamese cuisine rampage. Plain and simply put, the food is super tasty. ATMOSPHERE: The place got a major renovation done in 2013, and much needed it was. Gone are the ripped & duck taped booth seats, as well as that open-air private dining room. Everything inside is brand new, along with outdoor seating, and a cool bar that serves both environments. Unfortunately, the menus have seen better days. FOOD: Green Beans - Super crunchy and sautéed in a brown sauce with mushrooms, onions, and carrots. Really good side dish to any meal. Bok Choy - Blanched then drizzled in a mild sweet/salty sauce. Vietnamese Steak - Chunks of savory broiled steak over a bed of lettuce with tomatoes and cucumber slices. Green Papaya Salad - The papaya is cut into paper thin strips and tossed in a slightly sweet and tangy sauce with a strong basil flavor. Comes topped with either tofu crumbles or shrimp. Very refreshing starter. Sautéed Shrimp - If you love shrimp, you have to try this. Deep fried and battered shrimp with an onion-based stir-fry on top. Get it with the shell on or off, I like the latter, and your choice of spice. The flavor is mild but the batter mixed with the toppings has an excellent marriage of flavor. Clay Pot with Chicken - This has been my favorite dish since the beginning. Jasmine rice, frozen peas, chicken, carrots, fresh white & shiitake mushrooms, steamed in a sweet & salty sauce in a searing hot clay pot. The rice at the bottom of the pot is super crispy, so mix the contents as soon as the dish comes to you. Beef with Garlic & Egg - Chunks of super tender steak and onions are sautéed in a tasty brown sauce, topped with sliced hard boiled eggs and an onion/garlic stir fry mixture. Delish! Steamed Fish - It's a whole steamed fish (head and all) with a mixture of veggies done in a soy-based sauce and poured on top. This is a big portion so it's great for family style dining. Crispy Egg Noodle - The traditional deep-fried egg noodles topped with mounds of veggies sautéed in a dark brown gravy, and meat of your choice (we got chicken.) Loads of flavor and big enough for four to share. Saigon Egg Noodle Soup - Highly recommended dish for the ramen fan. It's not strong in sodium like your usual ramen and has a nice, lighter, savory flavor with thin noodles, fresh chicken strips, and green onions. Pork Chops - Wow! I've found my new favorite entree. Chunks of super tender pork done in a dry rub that is so tasty and flavorful, you'll wish you could mimic this at home. Highly recommended! Vietnamese Beef Burrito - Dried and super thin shells made of rice, I believe, are brought to your table which you dip into a bowl of hot water to soften them. You then add the already cooked beef, bean sprouts, and lettuce. Similar to a spring roll. The dipping sauce is a tangy concoction. Chicken Vegetable - Chicken strips sautéed in a savory brown gravy with broccoli, onions, mushrooms, and green beans. Good but no wow factor. Noodle Soup Special - This is a Vietnamese ramen. The broth is clear, lightly salted with a minuscule hint of sweet, but not in a gross way. You have the option of rice or flour (the one I chose) noodles. Toppings are fresh shredded chicken, green onions, dehydrated onions, 2 fresh shrimp, and rubbery calamari strips which I picked out because I hate them in soups. Thankfully there was zero cilantro in this dish. Highly recommended for the ramen fan! SERVICE: The servers are all friendly and quick. There's one infamous gentlemen in particular who comes off as a pushy salesman but he really means well. If you don't want something he's trying to up-sell you, just say so; you won't be punished for it. OVERALL: Great Vietnamese food. Prices have gone up a lot within the past year, along with every other place on Maui.

I love this place. The food is so authentic and delicious. Such wonderful service. The waiter is so welcoming and always has me laughing.
Rebecca V — Google review
Have been there multiple times for beers, ate their mushroom tofu bake dish. Great vegetarian options, nice and clean.
Jeremy P — Google review
Good variety of dishes and the taste is as you expect. Which is good. No significant complaints here. We come here a few times a year. Seems pretty authentic and you do get the “I’m in an Asian restaurant” feel when you enter. Seems like lots of locals, so service and food is good and consistent. Not sure if this is a first date place. Maybe third and “been dating for awhile” place so you are more comfortable to speak freely about the place. Either way, you have to try it.
Sam S — Google review
Inside the restaurant, the tables and chairs were a bit old and torn, but that didn't stop us from trying its dishes. We ordered a few dishes, in general every dish was sweet, we had to add fish sauce to get the typical traditional Vietnamese flavor. Braised ginger chicken is not Vietnamese-style braised ginger chicken, they use pre-boiled chicken breast, then sauté with a little ginger and onion for flavor, but it is also very sweet compared to the Vietnamese taste, rather for Americans. Sour fish soup tastes sweeter than sour, we have to squeeze more lemon to get more sour taste. The catfish in claypot was alright but not that great. In general, the dishes at this restaurant tend to be more American. If you want a salty Vietnamese taste, remember to ask for pure fish sauce.

Located in the lively town of Wailuku, SixtyTwo MarcKet is a popular breakfast spot on Maui. The restaurant is known for its delicious Loco Moco dish, featuring mushroom gravy, over-easy eggs, and flavorful spam-fried rice. Other menu highlights include Brioche French Toast and Shrimp Cake Benedicts, which have received high praise for their generous portions and delightful flavors.
Our last day in Maui and I had to go SixtyTwo Marcket. This is our third time coming here and it's absolutely amazing. The atmosphere is casual, and the service and food are excellent. The shrimp cake benedict was exquisitely paired with bacon and jalapeño cornbread (yes you read that correctly). My son devoured the ube mochi pancakes with coconut syrup and my husband had the fritata. Our waitress was a gem and she brought us a carafe of coffee with enough half and half to make me smile! It's close to the airport if you want to go as you leave. We waited 30 mins for a table but it was worth the wait! 🥰🌺
T L — Google review
We stopped here for breakfast before our flight back home. The food was delicious! I had the papaya bowl and the combination of flavors was delicious. The moco loco was so good as well. You definitely have to try it.
Fabiola M — Google review
Food is absolutely amazing, never fails to delight. We eat here at least twice on every trip to Maui and while the quality is consistent, the menu changes frequently so we always look forward to each trip. Today it was the short rib eggs Benedict, the kalua pork hash, and the mango crepes. The made-from-scratch iced tea was very refreshing with just a hint of sweetness.
Bernadette M — Google review
My girlfriend and I came here for the first time and was blown away with the quality. Food was absolutely phenomenal and was a good portion. We both had the spare rib eggs Benedict and the brioche French toast with crème brûlée filling. Probably the best breakfast I’ve had in a very long time. I also got a to go order of the Philly cheese, instead of steak it has lion mane mushrooms and I was not disappointed it was very delicious. Certainly coming back and I definitely recommend.

Best Breakfast/Lunch spot I had during my stay in Maui. The loco moco , french toast, and crepe were all so so good. The only breakfast spot in Maui I went back to multiple times. You will not regret eating here.
Mike L — Google review
This place would usually get a 5 star review from me. We've been going for a few years and it has been consistently excellent. But not today. This is a heads up for Mark, the Chef...if you've got a new cook, he needs to uplevel his game. The benedict special has always been one of our go-to breakfasts. the cornbread, eggs, hollandaise and potatoes were all good, but the special protein was short ribs which were papery, dry and unseasoned. My partner usually asks for a side of spinach to balance all the starch and they were out of spinach by 11:30. The hash is my go to, and while it's always a little small for me, it's been consistently delicious, And I usually get more than enough food by cleaning up after my wife with her abundant benedict dish. Today's pork, taro, sweet potato and cabbage hash was watery and also under-flavored. I ordered a salad which was tasty but minimal for $19: A small bowl of greens, 4 pieces of shrimp, with a few (under)charred corn kernels. Oh, and the orange juice tasted like it came from a can. For a place that's all about fresh and local, you'd be better off not having it on the menu if it tastes like that. When you drop most of $100 for breakfast, this is the kind of disappointment you don't want to have from a favorite local restaurant.

Absolutely blown away at this restaurant! I have lived on Maui for many years, never knew it existed! Delicious food, incredible choices! High end food and VERY unique creations! I love this place and have been here several times in the last month! DELISH!

This is our new favorite place to eat breakfast in Maui. Incredible food and service. The creme brulee French toast was a perfect sweet treat to share with the three of us. The fried rice with the gravy was incredible. You are kind of inside and outside at the same time. It is really the best of both worlds to hang out, relax, and eat wonderful food. All the wait staff were great and gave great recommendations. True aloha!

The Empanada Lady Restaurant and Lounge, located on W. Vineyard Street in Downtown Wailuku, offers a fusion of Dominican, Jamaican, and Cuban-inspired cuisine. While currently open for take-out only, the restaurant provides a savory option with Caribbean flavors and reggaeton beats. Guests can enjoy mouthwatering empanadas and other dishes while immersing themselves in the vibrant atmosphere of the outdoor patio.
The food was flavorful and delicious, and the service was friendly. We ordered the empanada sampler platter and loved the chimichurri and chimi mayo we're a hit with all of us. We loved sitting in the outdoor space for our meal. The art, music, and plants all around were great. We LOVED the vibe.

Feel like the atmosphere can't be beat! Really cool place to go! Food was really good as well so that was a plus! I had the curry and it was really good but probably not quite as flavorful as other currys I've had but still was great! The little salad that came with every meal was really good as well! Fun little place to come eat if you are looking for something fun to try!
Greg A — Google review
On the menu it says they are plantains. They're actually bananas. I wanted something sweet but instead, I got fried bananas instead of fried plantains and the tacos what kind of tacos are these? Its all coleslaw where is the cilantro, onions and tomatoes it has NO FLAVOR and the shrimps are too small. The bartender who greeted me when I got in was very rude and I still gave him a 5 dollar tip and also apparently they don't serve alcohol, and I didn't find out the reason why but they don't serve alcohol, which is very strange, because when I came in it was only 6 PM
Linda S — Google review
Food was good, but kitchen was a bit slow even with relatively few customers. Luckily the atmosphere was good even without the live band so it was not a terrible wait. Just maybe plan on enjoying the courtyard for a bit and don't get stressed if food takes a while. It's worth it. Our server was Colombian and really great. We agreed there should be a Colombian meal as a special. Maybe on Mondays? He described a great meal that's his favorite that should fit right in on the menu! :)

Such a hidden gem! We loved it here, especially the Saturday jazz live… food is good, portions may not be enough for some. Nice atmosphere and good service. We will be back :)

Very nice spot. We got the beef empanadas and they came out nice and fresh. They tasted pretty good. They only have outdoor seating and there’s parking right in front of the shop. The place is very clean and the person taking our orders was wiping down the paying pot after we touched it so we were comfortable using our hands to eat. The empanadas are about $5 each. Nice spot, would go back again. Would recommend to anyone looking for a quick snack.
Dina B — Google review
After my trip to Hana, me & hubby were hungry and since we love Dominican food, we decided to check this out... It was amazing! We were totally underdressed but we definitely enjoyed empanadas with some live music. Super cute spot, the food was delicious (and they also have vegan options 😍), definitely happy that we stopped by before leaving the island!
Jeysiane B — Google review
Tried to get into this place multiple times. Finally got in today. The place looks quaint. Simple menu so we decided to try the empanadas (pork, chicken, beef). Pork dish and tamale. The tamarind juice was interesting but wish it was a bit more tamarind taste. The empanadas was great. But the main dishes were disappointing. The pork was dry and serving tamale (little meat with lots of masa) with more rice just didn't work for me.

Wailuku Coffee Company is a charming coffeehouse located in an old gas station on historic Market Street. It offers a full espresso bar and serves breakfast and lunch items such as sandwiches and pitzas on pita bread. The shop has a lounge atmosphere with free Wi-Fi, making it a great spot to relax and enjoy some coffee. They are known for their community focus, showcasing local artists' work each month and supporting events like Wailuku First Fridays.
Mmmm yummmm! Great coffee shop in Old town Wailuku. Stopped in while walking old town on a sunny afternoon. Ordered an iced mocha and croissant and everything was delicious. They have a nice selection of baked goods to choose from. There’s a bathroom in the back also.

This place is a gem! Such a clean and calm spot. Perfect place to read a book or do some work. On the quieter side when I went during afternoon hours, but extremely comfortable especially due to the friendly and accommodating baristas & the constant, soothing wind from the coast. The coffee was great and fairly priced, can't wait to try more from Wailuku Coffee Co.
Reflective R — Google review
Our food hit the spot after our hike at waihee ridge. The coffee was great too. Was able to snag street parking right out front. There are outdoor & indoor seating options available. Bought a cute sticker to go as well.
Nicole — Google review
I wanted some coffee and fruit to start the day. The smoothie bowl isnt as thick as Acai, but it still hit the spot, especially with the warmer weather. The coffee was smooth and cold, just how you’d expect it to be. The food options looked great, so I’ll definitely have to come back and try more.
Nicholas K — Google review
The ordering kiosk had a picture of the Thai coffee that seemed a lot darker but no description so I was under the guise I was getting actual Thai coffee. You cannot call this Thai coffee. Maybe at best “Chai Coffee”. If anybody gets Thai coffee here please please please know this is far far far from real Thai coffee which is strong and similar to Viet coffee albeit a bit sweeter. This here is white girl coffee which is literally a 180 from real Thai coffee.
Connie C — Google review
Whenever I travel I always like to visit a locally owned coffee house(not Buckstars)to start the day off with a cup of coffee and a muffin or scone.Very cool place with a nice selection of hot/iced coffees and delicious eats!
J.anderson — Google review
Came to grab a coffee here while we were exploring Maui and it was nice. More like a neighborhood coffee spot with tourists and locals which was quiet busy on a Sunday morning. My partner and I got a Latte and Vanilla Latte, mine was way sweeter, didn't feel like coffee at all, so I'd give my Vanilla Latte a 1/5, the other drink was good. We bought Three Berry Scone and it was good.

Ok food, but the coffee was a letdown. Using a dark roast for a V60 is a miss, and the drip coffee wasn’t much better. Service wasn’t particularly friendly either

The coolest place ever! These folks work so hard to make everyone happy and it shows in both the food and the atmosphere. We’re so grateful to have found this place. Great prices, beautiful setting with both indoor and outdoor seating, and we had the special treat of having live Hawaiian music during our breakfast!

Nice local place that is warm and inviting. Soft music playing. A wall of guitars and ukuleles for anyone to try. Comfy chairs, soft banter from the regulars and the smell of freshly brewed coffee. Had a great Thai iced coffee and a BLT that tasted SO fresh. I swear they grow the tomatoes and lettuce out back, it's so fresh. Another favorite was the peach dish with a buttery crust and peaches. I'm back home now but send much aloha and mahalo for the kindness!

The Coffee Attic was one of my favorite cafes to go to in Wailuku. The vibes were amazing, especially with the live music. The drinks and food were yummy and I always got the chicken caesar wrap! I came in with my laptop because they had good working wifi, outlets, and comfy chairs!

Came here for first Friday of the month music performance. Great coffee. Didn't try the food but it looked delicious and not to expensive. Bring a chair and relax and listen to live music. Had a blast.

Excellent coffee shop! The coffee is excellent, a large selection of homemade pastries. The staff is super friendly. We were lucky to be here during a concert that was incredible. Highly recommend this place!!
Clarx M — Google review
Disappointed. I am not a coffee connoisseur, I enjoy a good latte. I can tolerate Starbucks. The beans they use here are severely burnt tasting. You would need lots of flavors to cover the taste. I was disappointed. The food is displayed like a school bake sale, in various home cooked dishes, it looks odd. I enjoy the couches and outdoor seating. They should invest in better espresso beans and a display case for food.

Sam Sato's Inc is a classic counter-service restaurant located in Wailuku, Maui. Since the 1930s, it has been a popular spot for locals and visitors alike. The restaurant is known for its affordable and hearty breakfast options, cheeseburgers, saimin, chow fun, loco moco, and plate lunches.
After all these years, Sam Sato is still a favorite of mine. Try to pay a visit every time we visit Maui and it never disappoints. Saimin and Teri beef bun is the way to go. Enjoy! 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼

First time eating Hawaiian dry noodles. They were as fantastic as the service. Our server made sure we were well taken care of.
Austin W — Google review
Got the dry noodles and they were good, wished I'd gotten the saimin as I like more broth. Beef sticks were flavorful but a little tough. Got 2 cheeseburgers and the boys scarfed them down. Fries were meh though, skip them. Friendly service, good experience near closing time.
John B — Google review
This is clearly a local favorite, and deservingly so. Everything was very good and inexpensive. It was busy but wait wasn’t too long.
Soden W — Google review
Down to earth place with fantastic food. Their dry saimin noodles are out of this world. The yakitori chicken is also very delicious. The staff are very friendly and the service is super fast once you get seated. There is often a wait for seats but it is quite worth it. For a 4-5 days trip, we ended up dining here twice. Goes to show great this place is.
Thang P — Google review
Delicious food in a local spot that reminds me of HK cha can ting. Everything was homey and comforting. Especially loved the wonton noodles. The wontons tasted handmade with a thick, chewy wrapper, and a juicy, chewy meat filling. Would go back if I visit again!
Liyan — Google review
They are usually very busy so we ordered take out, but were pleasantly surprised to find out there was only a very short wait if we wanted to dine in. The parking lot is small, so it helps to have someone wait in the car and another person run out to pick up the food. Service was quick and friendly! The Dry Noodles are highly recommended so we ordered some other items to try. The Teriyaki Plate Lunch came with a large scoop of rice, scoop of mac salad, and generous portion of teriyaki beef. Although it doesn’t look pretty, the beef was so tender and flavorful! Definitely an underrated dish here. The Lima (Butter Bean) and Azuki (Red Bean) Manju were also nice little treats to have after our meal. Soft and subtly sweet. The best local manju we’ve had!
Ketty N — Google review
Got there half an hour before closing. Packed house with quite a lot of people waiting for a table. I was alone, so I got seated at the counter almost immediately. Saimin menu is pretty simple. I ordered large saimin. Flavor was all there, portions were about right relative to price point, and quality of ingredients was on point. Service was fast and friendly. $12 for a quick meal. A must visit for simple local fare.

Tiffany's Restaurant & Bar is a popular gathering spot known for its extensive selection of Asian fusion dishes and drinks, including late-night offerings. The restaurant has a diverse menu with over 100 dishes, featuring items like sushi, honey walnut shrimp, and bibimbap. Recently under new ownership, the space has been updated with vibrant murals while retaining its dive bar charm.
WOW what an awesome dinner! You HAVE to try the garlic noodles they are out of this world! The garlic chicken also very good and worth every dime. Garlic fried rice? Yes please and some extra as well! Fried pork belly wasn’t my personal favorite, but the family loved it along with the bok choy and butterfish.
Damian W — Google review
Food looked very appetizing when it came out and I was super excited to eat, but it was a huge let down for me and my bf. We ordered the popular items many of the google reviews recommended, including the honey walnut shrimp, garlic noodles, and miso buttered fish. The honey walnut shrimp was the best out of those 3, but it was not all that either. The sauce was good, but the breading to shrimp ratio was just too much. The garlic noodles had a great bouncy texture to them, but it was a bit too salty for my taste. Same for the miso buttered fish. Overall, presentation is great, but flavor wise I’d skip this place and go somewhere else on the island.
Jacklyn — Google review
Stumbled upon this gem by chance, so glad we did! I was excited by the menu and wanted to order everything! Food was delicious and presented so well. Our server was so nice and made us feel right at home. Portions are so big we had enough for lunch the next day. Enjoyed the meal so much I had to buy their t-shirt!
John V — Google review
I was seriously craving some Filipino food while visiting the area, and after asking around, several locals pointed me to Tiffany’s. They all said it was the go-to spot and now I completely understand why. From the moment we walked in, I had a good feeling, and by the end of the night, we were already talking about coming back. We ended up ordering a lot of food, we wanted to try a little bit of everything, and honestly, it was all incredible. Some of the standout dishes for me were the Steak Bites, which were super tender and flavorful, and the Miso Butterfish, which just melted in your mouth. The Short Ribs were fall-off-the-bone delicious, and both the Crispy Pork Belly and Crispy Chicken had that perfect crunch on the outside while staying juicy and rich on the inside. Every dish had a depth of flavor that really showed the love and care put into the cooking. Even with how much we ordered, the food came out hot and fresh, and the service was consistently friendly and on point. The staff made us feel welcomed and taken care of without being overbearing. You can tell they take pride in what they do, both in the kitchen and in the dining room. The atmosphere was lively and inviting, making it a great spot for pretty much any occasion - whether it’s a date night, casual dinner, or a big celebration with friends and family. We saw a mix of smaller tables and larger parties, and everyone seemed to be having a great time. It’s one of those places that strikes the perfect balance between feeling homey and festive. If you’re in the mood for bold, comforting Filipino flavors with a modern touch, Tiffany’s is 100% worth checking out. I left full, satisfied, and already thinking about what I’ll order next time. Don’t skip this spot, it’s a local gem!

We went for dinner at with friends. They had lovely food. We ordered the chicken and garlic fried rice. Both of us couldn't finish the chicken, it was so good, juicy and tender. The garlic rice was good too. We ordered the beans as an appetizer and they were delicious. The chocolate brownie got over within a minute between us.

Nestled in the heart of Central Maui, Farmacy Health Bar Wailuku is a delightful spot that embodies the essence of healthy eating with a tropical twist. This no-frills counter-service eatery shines particularly bright with its acai bowls, which can be customized with an array of island-grown fruits like bananas, papayas, and lilikoi.
I got the BBQ jackfruit sandwich on focaccia with cheese, and lentil potato soup. They were both absolutely delicious. I was actually heading to a different sandwich spot down the road when I walked past this place. It smelt so enticing, I ended up eating here instead. The person at the counter was pleasant and helpful. I asked him what he recommended and he suggested the BBQ jackfruit sandwich. It was a little pricey but it's pandemic times and small restaurants are going out of business so I think the price is appropriate to keep places like this afloat. It was also very filling so it lasted two meals which made it a lot more bang for my buck (and I have a large appetite!). I was only in town for a shopping trip so I'm sad I won't be able to buy food from here more often but if you're in the area, it's definitely worth a try! Healthy and delicious.

If you think eating healthy means sacrificing flavor, Farmacy Health Bar in Wailuku is here to change your mind—and possibly your entire outlook on life. This little gem is serving up fresh, local, and organic goodness. Speaking of açai bowls, let’s get into it. The Da Cove Bowl? A masterpiece. The açai is thick, creamy, and blended to perfection—none of that watered-down smoothie nonsense. Topped with local honey, granola, fresh fruit, and a sprinkle of magic (probably), it’s the kind of bowl that makes you wonder if you should start eating like this every day. But don’t stop there—the Poi Bowl is an absolute must-try. It’s a delicious nod to Hawaiian culture, with fresh poi, banana, and coconut, bringing a unique twist to the usual açai lineup. And if you’re more of a savory person, their health wraps and sandwiches are loaded with fresh, local ingredients that actually make kale exciting. The vibe? Chill, friendly, and very Maui. The kind of place where everyone is on island time, and nobody is rushing you out the door. Whether you’re fueling up for an adventure or just need a guilt-free treat after too many mai tais, Farmacy Health Bar is a no-brainer.

Delicious and healthy food. Good prices. Good for both savoury and sweet stuff. Very friendly service and they will kindly explain the ingredients if your not familiar with the food. Eco friendly place with provision of real cutlery or compostable ones.

This Farmacy Club is the best vegan sandwich on the island. However, it's much better than the other options I've tried on their menu, including a smoothie, juice, and another carrot-based sandwich. I will go out of my way to just get this sandwich again.

We were highly suggested this place from some friends because they said they had some really solid açaí bowls... and I am always looking for some really good açaí bowls! From all the past places we have visited for açaí in Hawaii, I have been pretty disappointed, but we were told that the açaí here was some good stuff. At first, it was very confusing on how to order, and what was available, but the super pleasant and nice gent behind the counter helped us through everything. We got a wai side bowl with mango, pineapple, and bananas, and then a cacao bowl with pineapple, blueberries, and bananas. The amount you get for the price is really good, and they really pack in a lot of amazingly tasty, juicy, and big pieces of fruit! The fruit was also insanely fresh, and I could eat the fresh fruit all day any day. The other fixings in the bowl were also really fresh and really solid. Now, the actual açaí, the star of the dish was not bad at all. I've had a few açaí bowls prior to coming here, and I was highly disappointed in those, but the açaí here completely blows out the past açaí I have had on the islands. The açaí has a pretty good consistency, even though it was more on the watery side, it was still somewhat thick and has that sorbet consistency that I love. The taste itself was pretty good too, and I could definetly taste a little açaí in the mix. Overall, I wasn't disappointed, and this was by far the best açaí we had on Maui. I love the quantity of what you get, and I love the amazing fruit on it. Definetly if you are in the area, you should give this place a shot, because they also have a wide variety of other meals as well.
Kalen G — Google review
It is a wonderful intention to have more healthy food options, but there has been an issue here almost every time I go. There is one ordering area so if the person ordering is having trouble, asking questions, or taking a while to order the line just backs up out the door and they do nothing. Smoothies are very thin, not thick. Portions are small. If you have food allergies, like dairy, beware. They have put cheese on items when I told them I was allergic and they took some off the top and gave it back to me to eat with cheese still in the salad. I think the one in Pukalani is a little better than the one in Wailuku, but if you can, you are better off eating at home.

we had a very delicious soup and creative acai bowl. the smoothie was very good as well. good atmoshpere inside but no possibity sitting outside. prices rather hight. but 5 stars for the food quality.
Dominique F — Google review
Note: Bring your own spoon because they use cheap wooden shave ice style spoons. I came here on my daily search for Acai Bowls because they have good reviews online and were the closest place to me on this beautiful and hot Wailuku morning. Parking is a bit hard to get around Main Street so I parked a few blocks away and burnt some calories in anticipation of breakfast. Walking in I thought the place had a very healthy vibe and was looking forward to my acai bowl. The bowl was just average to me, not hating on it or anything, I just expected more....The search for the perfect Acai bowl continues!

Japanese restaurant
When you catch the aroma of fresh ginger, steaming rice, and sizzling sesame oil, you'll be close to Ichiban Okazuya. This charming Japanese-Hawaiian eatery attracts a steady flow of customers all day long for valid reasons! They serve traditional okazuya (which means Hawaiian tradition in Japanese) that is pre-prepared, allowing customers to choose their own ingredients and create personalized meals.
Another lunch spot fav. Combos are great. Got the Korean chicken, rice and Kim chee. Very flavorful, juicy yet crispy.

Some people just love this place, but I haven't found my hit-the-spot dish yet. ATMOSPHERE: Hole-in-the-wall building in Wailuku. Difficult parking. Take out only. FOOD: Nabeyaki Udon Broth has a salty and slightly sweet taste. Comes topped with fresh mushrooms, green onions, kamaboko, chicken, broccoli, zucchini and 1 piece of shrimp tempura. It's good, but the one from Archie's is better (better taste and more veggies.) Chopped Steak Steak filets done with white & green onions and bean sprouts. Doesn't really taste like your typical local-style chopped steak, unfortunately, but more like a cross between chicken hekka & nishime. Chicken Katsu IMO, it's hard to screw up chicken katsu unless you overcook it. Here, their katsu is good. Tender, tasty and a breading that's not too oily, with a perfect portion size. I'm not a fan of their house made katsu sauce, which is a little sweet and tart, like how most eateries are. Luckily I always have a bottle of Kagome-brand sauce at home. There are different side dishes I could've chosen from, but I'm not sure what they were as I wanted to try their mac salad. The macaroni salad also includes potatoes, diced raw onions, carrots, celery, and relish. Didn't care for it. It was too sweet (possibly Miracle Whip) and crunchy. Just mix in some mayo and salt, and I'll be ecstatic. The plate comes with a big scoop of rice (your choice of white or hapa which is a mix of brown & white,) and a tiny pinch of tasty pickled cabbage. Opakapaka The skin-on filet was on the smallish side, flattop grilled, very lightly seasoned, topped with grilled white onions and a few fresh mushrooms, and came with tartar sauce for dipping. The tartar sauce easily overpowered the delicate fish and killed it. I think seasonings of salt, shoyu, or even teriyaki would be more appropriate to keep with the Japanese theme. A scoop of rice and steamed veggies of broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, and pickled cabbage were the sides. Teriyaki Chicken So disappointed in this dish! The skin-on, boneless slices of chicken were under seasoned and dry. Talk about a weak teri sauce, but the dryness is unforgivable. Come on guys!? Sides were a scoop of rice, pickled cabbage, and their infamously gross Miracle Whip-based potato macaroni salad that is just too sweet. Chow Fun Their porkless concoction lacked any sort of flavor and tasted similar to chow mein at your local Panda Express. The beige noodles were a bit underdone, and stir fried with julienned carrots, green onions, and cabbage. SERVICE: Fast & friendly.
Maui T — Google review
Very surprised with the food. I ordered the pork katsu and tempura combo with Chowfun. The katsu was crunchy, tender and very flavorful. Unfortunately my tempura was a little under cooked. It came out soggy. It needed about 1 more minute in the fryer. The very surprising thing was the side of chowfun. I thought as a side, it would be bland and just a filler but it was very good. I could of just ate the chowfun as the main, that's how good I thought it was.

To go only - during the weekdays. But it’s worth a visit if you are nearby. True gem for locals. The chicken katsu and tempora set were so good.

We went to try the much-praised chicken katsu and were not disappointed. The kimchi side was also excellent. Eat here. Do it!

Amazing take out style restaurant run by a local family. Great service, super friendly. Food was exceptional! We got the curry udon, house special with Korean chicken and teriyaki pork, and vegetable tempera. Unfortunately, they were out of noodle side dishes when we went, but that was an hour before closing time. Everything tasted fresh and flavored perfectly. Such a convenient option for a bite to eat! Parking available by the shop.
Rachel — Google review
Take out only! I got their tempura udon. The udon taste like it's homemade. It feels nice when you bite into it if you know what I mean lol. The broth is flavorful. The tempura would be better and more crispy if it wasn't sitting closed in the take out box. I still like Marugame Udon more in Honolulu. Other than that it's good to try.

Sushi restaurant
Umi Maui is a charming Japanese restaurant tucked away in Wailuku, offering a selection of sushi, sashimi, steak, and seafood. The establishment has a laid-back atmosphere and is known for its beautifully presented Asian dishes. Guests can indulge in the Sushi Dinner or the Shiso Dragon roll, which features spicy tuna topped with avocado, potato chips, truffle oil, unagi sauce, and spicy aioli.
This restaurant exceeded expectations! Although the menu did not have a lot of options, everything we ordered was great. Especially the truffle fries and baked salmon. The service was moderately quick as well. Currently, it is all indoor dining and plastic sheets hang between each table with only the front doors open. If you are not comfortable sitting with so many people inside, this is something you should consider. Side note: The bathroom was very small and the floor was sticky.

FOOD: Crab Sushi I guess it was silly of me to ask if they use imitation or real crab meat, but I didn't want any surprises. The two pieces were piled high with shredded, genuine crustacean meat. Absolutely delish. Crispy Calamari The mix of rings and tentacles were coated in a smooth, light, crunchy batter and drizzled with a tasty aioli. Very nice version. Spicy Tempura Roll You get the best of three worlds in this one: Sushi, shrimp tempura and spicy ahi pokē! Artfully presented, it was sprinkled with a pebble-like topping which was actually dark-colored bits of tempura batter that not only gave the dish a bold visual appeal, but also provided for a delectable crunch. Recommended. Gyokotsu Ramen I'm pretty sure this is a hybrid word as the Japanese character "gyo" translates to "fish" and the word "kotsu" to "pork bones". Voila! A fish/pork-based broth? What the... Yes, puhhhlease! The deep-hued broth was searing hot, slightly rich yet not thick, very bold in flavors and not fishy. Ocean-based toppings such as two types of fresh seaweed, shrimp tempura and nori flakes complimented the dish well. They used thin, non-eggy noodles that were cooked a tad past chewy, something I can forgive as the dashi made up for it. Thankfully they know how to do an excellent medium tamago; an arduous task on this island. Hana hou! Kanpai! Bravo! Highly recommended. Ramen The broth was a very subtle tonkotsu base and tan in color (thankfully NOT white like milk which is so unappetizing to me). Sparse drops of black garlic oil gave the slightly creamy broth smoky and garlicky notes here and there but not throughout the dish. The lack of sodium and depth was disheartening, but most disappointing was that it wasn't searing hot which always kills it for me. I'm still on the fence about the noodles which I feel are too thin for ramen. They had an odd texture like buckwheat and felt a bit slimy on the palate. I prefer an eggy, chewy, thicker noodle. Toppings were paper thin slices of chewy pork belly, nori shavings, fresh seaweed, green onions and a whole gooey egg cut in half. Sorry, pass for me. Spicy Ahi Roll The fish was very fresh, lathered in a traditional spicy mixture, drizzled with a creamy aioli and sprinkled with crushed tempura and green onions. The spouse liked it but prefers a plain version without all the bells and whistles on top. Me? I'm not a sushi fan but enjoyed a single piece. Cheeseburge Maui "mom & pop" eateries really serve up some tasty burgers, no exception here. The simple burger is topped with just American cheese and what tasted like a thousand island-mayo mixture. The patty was homemade, very thick and super juicy. Fries are not included. Highly recommended! Mentaiko Pasta This was a nightly special (7.12.18) that really should be added to their regular menu. While I've never had this Japanese-inspired spaghetti dish before, it was extremely delicious. The al dente pasta was coated in a thick sauce of creamy and savory flavors yet wasn't heavy like an alfredo-based dish. There was no shortage of seafood either with lots of tender scallops and crunchy shrimp, along with local alii mushrooms. The herb shiso is used in this dish but I couldn't detect its usual pungency. Highly recommended.

BYOB & such yummy sushi. Truffle oil 69 roll & tuna carpaccio were next level. Great french fries, too. Loved the vibe in here, plenty of tables and bar seating.

Our waitress (Eepo) deserves 5 stars. She was the only server waiting on 13 tables at one point. She still managed to refill our waters 3 times and was very friendly. (Usually when a restaurant is busy, you get a rushed feeling from your server but Eepo was not that way.) Our food was good. The ramen was flavorful. Though the broth was a little bit greasy - I would recommend straining it at least one time through a cheesecloth or something to get a slightly cleaner broth. My husband ordered the sashimi platter and we enjoyed everything on there though the salmon didn’t taste as fresh as the other items on the platter. Same with my salmon nigiri - it was just alright. We also ordered the shiso dragon roll, and it was definitely very innovative with the chips on top and had a slight kick towards the end. Ambiance was ok. It was a quaint little restaurant with COVID precautions in place. However, because they were understaffed, tables were mainly getting cleaned as customers were showing up. At one point we looked around to empty tables but dirty dishes still piled on the tables. We did get free dessert (ube and vanilla ice cream - it was delicious) and a small little souvenir gift. Overall would still recommend this place. Parking was scarce but still able to find a spot.

This was our first time and I would never return. Service was subpar, we felt ignored and would awkwardly sit at the table waiting for the waiter to hand us the check or check in on us. The food was alright. This was supposed to be for my sister’s birthday dinner and it was kind of a bummer. The guy did a whole show sang happy birthday and everything for a little kid the next table over. But when it came to my sister just handed her the cake still in the box with no lighter. So we didn’t have that special wow factor. I ended up having to ask the sushi chef for a lighter.

This place was recommended to me by a bartender at a very famous Maui restaurant. I had to check it out because they serve nabeta. I had only learned about this type of fish on this trip. Many of the locals love this fish and it’s not often on restaurant menus. I called Umi when they opened, they told me they had 4 small and 2 large nabetas left. They’re first come first serve but I think you can order to go as well. I got a small nabeta and let me tell you; it is sooooo good!!! The rice is the same they use for sushi. The fish is fried perfectly and the ginger sauce is amazing. I am in love with this dish. The staff is also extremely nice. I sat at the sushi bar and they chef was awesome to talk to! Highly recommend this place!!! Try the nabeta

Nice local place, good food. Sushi was fresh and delicious. Excellent service, decent prices. Interesting dichotomy: Sushi restaurant, large screen playing Country Western music, BYOB all on Maui! Parking could be limited. Wheelchair accessible.
Susan M — Google review
I went in to finally try them out! I'll admit to some sticker shock. I got some miso soup, a rainbow roll, salmon nigiri, and scallop nigiri. The miso was almost a light stew with all the tofu and wakame. It was a great surprise. The rainbow roll, basically a California roll with various fish toppings, was made with real crab instead of the usual haddock imitation crab. The salmon was thick sliced and buttery. Unlike most American sushi there was wasabi underneath it. The scallop had an odd twang. I probably won't get that one next time. I was expecting noodles, and went for that. The gentleman I spoke with said that it's been so hot that nobody was ordering it, so it's become a seasonal dish. Once it's cooler it'll be back. I'll return to try that.

Takamiya Market in Wailuku exemplifies this notion as it provides an unpretentious shopping experience stocked with various groceries and pantry staples.

Love this little market in Wailuku. 🩵💚 They carry raw meats, ready made individual items like side dishes and desserts, bentos, and snacks. And an aisle of dry grocery/pantry items. Prices are very reasonable. You can make a meal for around $11. The $6.99 mini bentos are awesome for light meals or small eaters. That plus a side dish or two would be enough for a full meal. Their poke/poki is delicious. No long lines, unlike some other stores. Some of their food items qualify for SNAP. My guess is their dry grocery caters to visitors in all the nearby hostels. They’re better stocked than a convenience store and they’re not common goods for Japanese grocery. Give this place a try.

This is Maui's infamous local market, AKA "The little giant of Happy Valley," in reference to the area within the town of Wailuku. They're best known for their fresh pokē and seafood, kalbi marinade & ribs, and bento lunches. ATMOSPHERE: Hole-in-the-wall and truly local. Takamiya's has that certain smell when you go in, a mixture of fresh fish and oil, and I love it! Don't expect a Whole Foods vibe, people... FOOD: Bento Lunches THE best in Maui. All sorts of combos & choices at great prices. Chicken, hot dog, tuna, sausage, teriyaki, musubi, calamari, long rice, pork & peas; all mixed up like the people that make up Hawaii. Ahi & Tako Pokē Again, THE best in Maui, especially the shoyu ahi pokē and kim chee tako. Don't look at the price, just buy it! GROCERIES: Kalbi Ribs THE best in Maui, no kidding. Comes pre-marinated. Slap them on your grill and enjoy. Marinade They sell their kalbi marinade separately in a bottle too! Great on any kind of meats and chicken. Hamburger Mix A lot of folks love their mix as its pre-seasoned with flavor and white & green onions. It tastes okay to me, but I do think my mix is better. SERVICE: Cashiers are always friendly. OVERALL: Convenient little market in Happy Valley, ono pokē selections and the best kalbi ribs on the rock!

Iconic restaurant that I hope never closes! We go there from time to time mostly to eat breakfast items - hotcakes, waffles, biscuits and also for items that are hard to find at other places - luncheon meat and beef liver. Workers are pleasant and quick.Very no frills kind of place, but kept clean.

Local diner with classic American and Hawaiian options. Came here for a late lunch prior to going to Haleakala. I ordered the saimin with veggies and my friend had a tuna melt. We split a Kona mud pie as well. Credit cards are accepted as well as cash. You pay at the register once you’ve received your check. This felt like a homey, local spot. We enjoyed our meal and its cool to see that places with reasonably priced food still exists. There was free parking in the front and back.

Sweet restaurant. There are tourists but imma gonna say it’s a locals place cuz there were won’t of them and the vibe was that way. It’s old but it’s clean. Food was yum. They have a parking lot which makes it even easier. What staff super friendly and fairly quick. Order st the table with waitress, get a tab, then pay st the register; like diner style. So if you want to leave a tip but pay by credit card, they ask you how much tip and add it to the bill they ring up, then clip the cash to the check. Interesting. Good prices for amount of food! Fried rice with an egg. Egg was good. Fried rice kinda bland. Overall together was good. Loco Moco. Good! Two scoop rice and one scoop Mac salad. Chicken katsu. Very good! Seemed like big portion. Boneless Korean rib. Not great. I was expecting more flavor like Kalbi. And it loses something without the bone. Mac nut pancake. Average. Liver with onions and bacon. I was told this was very good. I didn’t try cuz I’m not a fan of liver.

The place itself is a bit older but it has a charm that you won’t find amongst the over-tourism of Western Maui. We were seated for a party of 5 promptly and service was good. The food was pretty good, we expected a more homemade/traditional meal and that’s what we got. We got orders of the Loco Moco and chicken katsu, the menu is a bit small so prepare for that. The Loco Moco was the best we had on the trip. Savory and well balanced, the hamburger tasty, the rice delicious, the gravy savory. The mac salad was also good, just a hit all around. The chicken katsu was good but not great, lightly breaded and juicy but not too flavorful. Still a good meal regardless of anything and it is great to support a local spot and feel like you’re part of the island and not someone just visiting. If you’re in the Wailuku/Kahului area, definitely consider stopping by for a quick and delicious meal.

Not what tourists might think of being fancy, but very good food at very fair prices. Mostly visited by locals, staff was friendly and attentive, food was delicious and portions big. A place to go when you’re in the area!

Nestled on Lower Main Street, Bamboo Grille Inc. is a delightful culinary gem that captures the essence of Hawaiian dining with its vibrant blend of American and Japanese flavors. This beloved eatery welcomes both locals and visitors to indulge in a diverse menu available for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Start your day with their unique veggie fried rice topped with eggs or savor the Boogie Board sandwich served on a fluffy pancake.
This is a local favorite. You’ll rarely see tourists eating here. The food is absolutely amazing. Saimin is something I order every single time. The ox tail soup is also good. Garlic shrimp is another fav of mine. They also serve breakfast dishes but I haven’t ordered any of them.

Mom and pops local shop. Very good food and big portions. Was recommended by a local to come get the Banana Mac Nut Pancakes. It was out of this world good and worth every bite. The Sumo Moco was very tasty. Make sure to get it with fried rice. Prices are very good, not like the ripoff hotel foods. Definitely would come back again.

At Bamboo Grill, I ordered the oxtail soup, which comes with a scoop of rice and the choice of macaroni or salad. The oxtail was flavorful and tender truly a hidden gem in Maui! While the location can be a bit challenging to find, it's well known among locals. The service was average, they were out of most drinks on the menu. The atmosphere is casual, resembling your neighbor's kitchen table nothing fancy, it’s like an old school dining experience.

Charming , low-key, spot to go grab some yummy food. It was a little tricky to find, but I'm so glad we did! My favorite was the banana macadamia nut pancake. The sauce was delicious! We also had the corn beef hash with eggs and rice meal as well as the eggs, potatoes, and Portuguese sausage meal! Service was very friendly. I wish we were in town longer to go again.

Bamboo Grille has been a Wailuku staple for years now. LOCATION: The old Nazo's restaurant. Or in detail, Lower Main Street, second level, west side of the Puuone Plaza. ATMOSPHERE: Simple and nothing exciting, like all other restaurants in sleepy Wailuku. FOOD: Double Loco Moco Rice, two homemade hamburger patties topped with two eggs (cooking style of your choice,) and dark brown gravy. The patties were moist and cooked medium. I got the eggs over easy and were cooked perfect. The dark brown gravy was savory as opposed to my kryptonite sweet. Roast Pork The majority of the sliced pork were tender and lean, with just a few tough and fatty pieces. I asked for "extra gravy" which didn't seem like they added much more, which was fine as the gravy wasn't the greatest in terms of flavor; very mild with no depth. The rice was cooked nicely, and yay, macaroni salad finally accompanied the dish! Nothing spectacular, but nothing bad either. Chicken Cutlet Yowza, delicious! Unlike the other reviews, mine weren't burnt. They were actually perfectly cooked and crispy, with insanely moist and juicy chicken. I asked for extra gravy which was poured onto the two scoops of rice in addition to the chicken, a dark brown concoction that was thick and tasty. I could've used more of the macaroni salad though some may say there's too much mayo mixed in. It's a generous portion size for the average human. Hands down the best cutlet I've had yet! Dry Mein - My mom's dish. She exclaimed "This is so junk, the noodles are hard!" Looking at it from across the table they looked normal. After tasting a strand, it was simply al dente, though with a slight doughy flavor due to its undercooked temperature. Personally, I liked it. She did not. Most places don't undercook their dry mein noodles like this, or maybe it was an off-batch. She soldiered on, finishing what she could along with the dipping broth and testified "I'm never ordering this again!" Okay then! LOL. Tuna Sandwich My spouse's choice. Hmm, I could've made this at home for way less. Just kidding! Whatever floats your boat. The wheat bread was nicely toasted with a good amount of tuna fill & veggies with thick-cut, crispy shoestring fries to the side. Their mayo comes premixed with mustard, a Maui staple. Saimin I believe I've found my new favorite saimin on Maui! Available in two sizes, I went large, and a generous portion it was. The bowl came searing hot and steamy to the table. The broth was perfectly savory, the noodles thicker and chewy (Iwamoto-brand noodles, I believe) and topped with green onions and thick slices of tender pork. Highly recommended! SERVICE: Consistently good. OVERALL: Your best option for "local food" in Wailuku.

We were first time visitors. Our waitress was so kind, engaging, and helpful. She gave recommendations that were on point. We appreciated that the menu offered all day breakfast and lunch fares which were all yummy! Great service, fair prices, and good food. Easily one of our favorite meals and experiences on the island.

We came here after Haleakala sunrise tour to get some warm food and the MOCOS were crazy good. The place is upstrairs so drive up the hill and it’ll be on the top right look towards the building. 10/10 it may look like a hole in the wall but the food is killer :) extremely nice waitress also!

Bakery
This bakery is a must-go for anyone visiting the island of Maui. The pastries are delicious, and their breads are always freshly baked. The wait times can be long, but it's definitely worth it! Butter rolls are especially amazing!
IYKYK, I cannot express how good this place is. Get here early, otherwise options will be limited. It's ok to get whatever is left because honestly it is all delicious. The bread/dough is the softest pillow cloud of delight. I was able to get some butter rolls which are to die for. No where else can compare. Do not miss out. Bring cash, because thats the way you can get your fix. Trust me don't miss this stop in Maui.

We stopped into Four Sisters Bakery in Maui just to try their famous butter rolls—and wow, they did not disappoint! The rolls were unbelievably soft, gooey, and drenched in sweet, buttery goodness. We ordered three so we could really get a fair taste, and every bite was amazing. Honestly, some of the best rolls we’ve ever had. We didn’t try anything else on this visit (though everything in the case looked tempting), because the butter rolls were exactly what we came for. The staff was super friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. I’ll definitely be back again—next time I might branch out, but I can tell you right now, I’d go back just for those butter rolls alone!

It is very dangerous to live by this place. I will be eating here night and day. The Spanish roll, glazed donut, butter roll. Everything was delicious. I couldn't stop eating. Just buy one of everything even if they are sold out of what you wanted. You won't be able to stop eating and everything will surprise you in a wonderful way! Go early if you want more options. The Spanish roll and glazed donut was better than the butter roll in my opinion so give it a try.

We came here for the butter rolls and we were not disappointed. The store is extremely small but the line moves fast. Remember to take cash as it is cash only. We got a dozen butter rolls and inhaled 4 the moment we left. We also tried the malasadas and a cinnamon roll

The service was impeccable, the food was better than expected and now I need to go take a nap and potentially not eat another thing while I'm here because I ate two dozen of their butter rolls. You will not believe how amazing the butter rolls are, they melt in your mouth. Literally I think it's the best thing I ever put in my mouth. I am not exaggerating

Tokyo Tei is a cozy, family-owned restaurant that has been serving authentic Japanese dishes made from scratch since 1934. Despite its unassuming location in an industrial area of Wailuku, Maui, it is a popular spot known for its famous shrimp tempura. The restaurant attracts a diverse crowd, from bankers to construction workers during lunch and multi-generational families celebrating special occasions during dinner.
Enjoyed an onolicious Birthday & Happy Boys day dinner with our Maui ohana! Teishoku B is our go to with the always perfectly delicious teriyaki steak, fresh ahi sashimi & shrimp/vegetable tempura. Our 2 ladies had the new Teishoku G tonight with ono teriyaki chicken, fresh ahi sashimi (that we get to eat because they don't 😋) & perfectly battered shrimp/vegetable tempura. The side of ahi tempura bites dipped in our teriyaki sauce was delectable & gyoza with another dipping sauce was so oishi. Our niece happily slurpped up her plain udon noodles. We all left with our opus gratefully stuffed! Mahalo to Glory & her awesome staff😁🍱🍤🍜🥟

Updating since different owners and we heard they were going to go back to original recipes. We did takeout and ordered the teri steak, teriyaki pork and carrot tempura which is sold by the piece. Plates came with a scoop of rice and miso soup. Flavor of food was good. Person who took our order and completed our transaction was very sweet and friendly. We went back again and ate inside. We had the nabeyaki udon and their pork tofu and both were so delicious! We will definitely go back there again!

Unfussy homely cooking. Sashimi was the highlight and I enjoyed the fish and steak. The tempura was good at first, but as the batter is a little thick, got heavy towards the end. Good value for money

Heard new people running Tokyo Tei. So much better now. Go try it out.
Shawn M — Google review
Quality and quantity dropped quite a bit. My tonkatsu had about 8mm of pork but the cooked miso fish was thick and tasted frozen. Their famous haktaka chicken soaked for 2 days was sold out. Waitress says they only have enough for 3-4 orders. Breaks my heart as this was a regular haunt. Their prices are reasonable unlike other Hawaiian Japanese joints. Now I know why because they cut out the quality and quantity.
David H — Google review
The food here is tasty and worth every penny. Everything is prepared to perfection and served with eye appeal and exceptional taste to follow. If you are in the area, you owe yourself the treat of eating at Toyko Tei. Guaranteed winner 10/10!!
LaDell V — Google review
It's hidden on the lower floor of a strip mall/business center. They have lunch specials that gives you a good value for the amount of food you order. They are known for their tempura and it was crispy. However, the batter for the shrimp one was a little too thick. The veggies were crispy but some of them needs to be drained a little longer. The pieces of veg tempura was eating too greasy and oily. Kalbi was a little fatty and mushy rice. Miso soup was a nice start and seasoned well. Service was attentive and friendly.
Eve C — Google review
Authentic Japanese feel. Don't be scared to actually eat the miso by bringing the bowl to your mouth, and use the bowl provided on top for your rice. The guests are friendly and so is the staff.

The drinks very good! However I can't say the same about the food. The flavor was not there, not what I was expecting. Wasn't flavorful, I had high expectations from the reviews. Maybe the fried or Pad Thai would be better.

Tried this food truck by chance on our last day in Maui. Amazing food, quality and customer service. Portions were very big. There was 4 of us in our group and we all agreed it was as good as a high end restaurant. Not sure if we’ll ever visit Maui again but if we do, it’ll be our first stop out of the airport. I had the yellow curry with chicken and it was 👌🏼

This place is an awesome little gem in Old Wailuku town. Eating under the banyan tree is a great experience. They have a good variety of standard fare on the menu as well as daily specials which sometimes includes fresh fish. The curries are great, pad Thai and drunken noodle also cooked to perfection. I also like the chicken ginger stir fry and fried rice. Oh, and the service...super friendly and accommodating. You gotta check this place out when you need your next Thai food fix.

Miko's Cuisine could benefit from a larger table as the serving plates are quite large. The food is delicious and satisfying, with everything being of high quality. The service is exceptional, with attentive and knowledgeable staff who are patient and kind. The restaurant has received positive feedback overall, ensuring that customers would return for another meal. Miko's Cuisine experienced a change in ownership in December 2023, resulting in significant improvements to the food quality.
Old school venue with lots of history. A fusion of sorts, Korea meets Kyoto via Shenzhen. We had a Korean bbq dish and a type of awesome raw fish salad that was perfectly balanced.
Alexander C — Google review
Opened in 2017, Miko's Cuisine took over the former Asian Star spot in the Millyard industrial area. ATMOSPHERE: They've done a much needed interior refreshening since taking over. Gone are the dreary white walls and tacky decor. Welcomed are warm, inviting colors and a bigger population of dining homo erectus, giving the place life again. Unfortunately (IMO), they offer karaoke during dining hours which was the only negative thing as it's super annoying. To make matters worse, the person attempting to sing refused to standup and sing so the microphone kept making that obnoxious feedback noise which he seemed to enjoy and kept on doing it. Come on!? MENU: Mixed cuisine of apps, salads, sushi, local Hawaii fare, ramen, Korean dishes, Chinese dishes. Currently, only items highlighted with pen marks are available to order. FOOD: Banchan These were on the house. Six small plates came neatly presented in the middle of our table. We received some kind of green vegetable that tasted like blanched broccolini done in sesame oil and sprinkled with cheese (?), two types of kim chee that looked spicy but were not, a savory green ocean salad-like veggie, chewy kim chee squid cut into sticks and my least favorite which were uncut kim chee-flavored green onions. Gyoza About eight pieces came on the plate, all perfectly deep fried and stuffed full with a pork mixture. The dipping sauce was really good which was a soy-based sauce with chili notes but not spicy. Highly recommended! Rainbow Roll My friend loves sushi so this was his order. This is basically a California roll but topped with fresh fish which were salmon, ahi and hamachi. He said it was "okay" so I guess it's not the best he's had. Kim Chee Pancake The owner of Miko's knew one of my friends so this was on the house. I didn't see it listed on the menu but I'm sure they can make it any time. From how it was presented, I think they drizzle the kim chee pieces in actual pancake batter then throw it on the griddle, similar to a Japanese okonomiyaki. The taste was really good with savory notes while the bits of pancake batter added texture and held everything together. Spicy Pork Ribs About eight or so spare ribs came sitting atop a bed of raw onions. I'm not a huge rib fan but I really liked it. The flavor was mildly sweet and salty, but there was no spice to them at all. A bit pricey for the portion size. Nabeyaki Udon If you've read my reviews, you'll know that I am a total ramen/udon/noodle fanatic, so naturally I had to try their version. Instead of a traditional cast iron pot, they used a modern slate-colored steel pot that almost looked like plastic. It arrived hot but not searing like you'd get at Ichiban Kahului or Archie's. The broth was very mild, more savory with a hint of sweet. I added a swish of shoyu which helped a little, but didn't wow me at all. Toppings were a sunny side-up egg, shrimp tempura and an overkill of white onions. Meh. Sam Sun Jjamppong If you like spice or a kick, this is for you! It's like a seafood noodle soup with a spicy red broth, chocked full of seafood like shrimp and mussels. It's a big bowl good enough for a table to share as an app. DESSERT: Fresh Orange & Pineapple Someone here has a clever hand at carving! The orange was carved into a panda bear with its belly holding the hollowed out fruit, neatly diced and ready to be picked up via toothpicks. A sliver of pineapple was carved into what I believe was a bird with the pineapple top resembling tail feathers. I didn't see this on the menu but we received it at the end of our meal. Very unique! SERVICE: All the servers were helping each other out, so we had excellent service and were checked up on A LOT. If you have a birthday, they crank up the karaoke system, the servers come to your table, one with tambourine in-hand and serenade you. OVERALL: Great addition to the dead dining scene that is Wailuku town. Good food, great service. I will be back to try more!

Very nice local restaurant that does well with Japanese food. Korean dishes were subpar and needs more work. Great friendly staff who are helpful and can walk you through the menu. Japanese food undertone throughout all the dishes.
Gregory Y — Google review
The quality of the food has gone downhill. Over the years the food tastes less like Korean and more fusion. The spicy chicken tasted like they stir fried the meat and sprinkled some pepper flakes on top. The flavor of the meat was very bland. There was way too much meat in the kimchee soup, the flavor of the pork overpowered the kimchee and the broth was a little too oily for my taste. Not like any kimchee soup I remember. The banchan was old and tasted like it needed to be thrown out. We hardly ate any of the chicken and maybe half of the kimchee soup. We were highly disappointed, probably won't return.
Herman B — Google review
Lots of different options, and the longest happy birthday song on the karaoke machine. Great portion sizes and reasonable pricing.
Darcy P — Google review
This is a little hole in the wall and its incredible. The portions are huge we ordered the appetizers different kimchee dishes, stuffed mushrooms it was different and I really couldn't see any mushroom in it but wow it was tasty. Kal bi very tender slices of beef and korean flavor, Soft crab tempura was deep fried and very good eats, beef broccoli meat was tender and the broccoli was perfectly cooked the sauce compliment the dish bringing the perfect balance, sweet & sour chicken w/green & red bell peppers top off with pineapple crispy costed chicken tender strips with a light sweetness to the sauce, the Love boat it had Californian roll, two deep fried dumplings, shaved ginger & wasabi, teriyaki meat, teriyaki chicken, kal bi beef ribs, salmon & shrimp tempura. Garlic fried rice was the last dish. Yes it was alot of food. Amazing food!!!!
Mini G — Google review
When I saw 4.4 stars and read some of the reviews, I really thought it was a good pick. But overall we've been pretty disappointed. First impression, very subjective, the music is terrible. It's asian karaoke running constantly. I'd like to share a sample here but I can't. It's some kind of cheap asian dance music. Then what kind of asian restaurant has ketchup on its table?! The menu is immense. Like a 100 items. Which is a proof they don't cook much on site. Which cuisine can manage to cook that many dishes? We both took a salad for starters (they could have told us there was already some salad served with our main plate). My wife was served 10 minutes before me. Sure her salad was simpler to prepare, but I had to watch her eat. I don't understand how it's difficult to serve all guests from a table at the same time. But the salads were ok. The icing on the cake was the beef teriyaki and chicken teriyaki. The beef was of mediocre quality. The chicken was barely better. The teriyaki sauce was some kind of paste squeezed out of a tube on top of the meat. Disgusting for me. The bottom line is that if you have to come here for whatever reason, get sushis, they're hard to get wrong. Despite all of this, I would have given 2 stars. But the tip is included in the bill (18%) but the waitress didn't tell us despite knowing we were tourists (we told her) and brought us the ticket with a field for how much tip I wanted to give...

Fantastic food, with large portions, only our second time at Miko's, but we were pretty happy and amazed by their portion size. I will be back because we need to try more of their food. We were craving Sushi and arrived approx 3 pm; unfortunately, we were told the Sushi Chef was taking a break, so no sushi until 4 pm. We just ordered off their menu, and as expected, we had enough leftovers for lunch the next day. Win-win, but we will be back.

Fiesta Time Wailuku is a delightful culinary destination nestled in Waihee-Waikapu, offering an authentic taste of Mexico right here in Maui. This charming eatery features an impressive selection of tacos, burritos, and enchiladas that have captivated the hearts (and appetites) of many visitors. Each dish showcases a homemade quality that appeals to both meat enthusiasts and vegetarians alike.
Ordered a few burritos to go, on our way to the airport. We’ve learned to always travel with airplane food, and a good burrito is a perfect go to. We found this hole in the wall, and decided to give it a shot. The woman inside was Hispanic, it was a pure joy to find a Mexican restaurant, which makes actual Mexican food. It was her restaurant, and she was the only one working behind the counter, and the kitchen. A great place to stop, and grab some food to go. They have a small dining area inside, suitable for a few groups. I would highly recommend this hole in the wall, to anybody looking for some good eats.

Today, my husband had a terrible sore throat, and I was too tired to cook. I decided to stop by a fantastic Mexican restaurant that I’ve passed countless times. I'm so glad I did! The soup was incredibly filling and packed with chicken—absolutely delicious. The tacos were equally delightful, and the homemade chips were a perfect touch. The prices were reasonable, and we ended up getting two meals out of what I ordered. Thank you for preparing such healthy and delicious food!

It’s takeout so atmosphere doesn’t apply. They’re super kind, family owned and have the best fish tacos on maui. We’re pescatarian so we don’t branch out much on the menu, but the chips are very crispy.

The guy at the front was beyond rude, and it was twenty dollars for a bbq plate lunch where the Mac salad was like mush and miracle whip, and the meat was maybe a step above dollar store quality. Mouth agape is how I looked as I left Mike's empty handed. I couldn't believe how I was treated!? My Saturday's work lunch is always out on the town as I have 1.5 hours to spare. On this particular day I thought of returning to Mike's for some noodles, specifically the gomoku ramen. As I entered the empty eatery, no one was behind the counter but my presence did trigger a door chime. I looked around for a soul for about two minutes. Finally, the owner Mike came from the other end of the restaurant. No smile, no eye contact, only a look of inconvenience with a "Can I help you"? As he made his way behind the food counter, I asked what kind of broth is in the gomoku ramen. He walks back the other way looking for something. With his back now to me, he annoyingly says "What"?! I ask again what kind of broth is in the gomoku ramen. He pointed to the picture menu of the shoyu ramen and mumbled something along the lines of "You should know" or "You ate this before". Not knowing what he said, I asked if the broth is clear. Irritatingly, he mumbles something but I did make out "pork bones" in the sentence. Before I could make a decision, he mumbles something again with an "I cannot help you anymore" at the end of the rant and simply walked back into the kitchen without a care in the world, leaving me alone at the counter. Stunned, I left and got lunch from another business down the street. OVERALL: Good luck to you, sir. Your message was well received.

Fuego Argentinean Steakhouse, situated at the Dunes at Maui Lani Golf Course in Central Maui, offers a delightful dining experience with stunning views of the West Maui Mountains. The restaurant has gained praise for its fresh Argentinian cuisine, extensive wine selection, and inviting atmosphere since its launch in early 2023. It's a popular spot for special celebrations and is known for its delectable emparedado options like Choripan and Milanesa de Carne.
The steaks are juicy and cooked to your liking. I asked for medium and it was so delicious! The gratin potatoes and broccoli were great sides to go with my picaña steak. My husband had the seafood pasta. He really liked it. We had the Affogato for dessert. It's vanilla ice-cream served with a shot of espresso. We had Eric as our server and he was very attentive without being bothersome.

Steak was fantastic, the potatoes were also very good! The Caesar salad was underwhelming. Atmosphere is really cool with the outdoor seating and view of the golf course and beautiful mountains in the distance. Service was adequate.

Tamura's Market Wailuku is a delightful grocery store that offers an impressive selection of locally sourced produce, artisanal Hawaiian delicacies, and a well-stocked wine section. Renowned for its poke department, this market features an array of mouthwatering options like sweet chili sauce ahi poke and spicy masago poke, making it a go-to spot for both locals and visitors alike. Beyond just poke, Tamura's showcases local snacks and unique treats such as li hing mui gummies.
Tamura’s Market in Wailuku is a hidden gem! Their poke is some of the freshest and most flavorful on the island — perfectly seasoned and generously portioned. The staff were friendly and helpful, making the whole experience easy and enjoyable while we picked out our flavors. I also loved their great selection of local snacks, drinks, and groceries. Definitely a must-visit when in Maui for poke lovers.
Peter F — Google review
Maui's newest grocery store is finally open for business after months of unknown delay (2020). They're located in the Millyard business park in between the Millyard Plaza and Wailuku Post Office. Parking is plentiful. Turning left out of the lot can be cumbersome especially on weekdays as this is a highly-traveled road. The store is quite large and was freezing cold inside. Decor is typical Tamura's - "plain Jane". I was hoping to grab some pokē but unfortunately the bar wasn't operational yet. The neighboring hot foods counter and ice cream bar were not ready either. Should't you open up with a bang? So disappointing! Tamura's stores are known for their immense wine/beer/liquor selection but here it was very limited as the focus is groceries. Head to their Kahului store instead for way more choices. The aisles are comfortably spaced apart so two carts can easily pass at the same time. Some shelves weren't stocked yet, I'm assuming due to just opening a few days ago. Asian and Hispanic foods and ingredients are quite good. They even sell Mexican-bottled sodas including Coke, which my spouse (and others) swears tastes better than American-bottled versions due to the lack of high fructose corn syrup. Tamura's also has self-branded items like rice, snacks and even bread. Seafood and meats are fresh but prepackaged. No butcher services are available. Most prices were very competitive to larger grocers, with in-store specials ringing in good deals, but some things were pricier. You just have to know the deals around town and where to get them. HIGHLIGHTS: - Automotive retail (car soaps, wax, oil) - Cigars - Fresh cut flowers (only protea when I was there) - Marinated meats/poultry - OTC meds - Pet food and accessories SERVICE: Only two of the five or so lines were open but cashier service was fast and friendly. I even received a "thank you", a rarity these days. TIP: ApplePay accepted. OVERALL: What could've been a 5-star review was marred by their pokē and food counters not being ready even a few days after opening.

You can almost always get a seat here. It is casual, laid back and local. The food is very good and reasonably priced. Service is reasonably quick, (I have seen it described in some of the reviews as “fast food” it is not fast like as in Mcdonald’s.. so don’t go there in a rush) They also serve local foods, like loco moco and do some fusion cooking like bacon and eggs with rice. Take out is available.

Dance club
Wai Bar, located on Market Street in Wailuku town, stands out as a lively late-night hangout spot. Despite the quiet surroundings after office hours, this bar offers a vibrant atmosphere with a small dance floor and karaoke nights. The simple black decor is deceiving because it's actually one of the most popular bars in Maui. It features live jazz, lounge music, and funky tunes along with an array of drinks including beers, wine, tequila, rum, and cocktails.
Been going to Wai Bar for over 5 years! Friendly staff, great selection of drinks, KARAOKE on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays and AWESOME vibes from locals and visitors alike. There's a couple of performance arts venues nearby so lots of talented people will stop in for a cocktail and karaoke!
AAIHARA1 — Google review
The decor would delight the psychedlicly inclined. Unfortunately, the bar was sans brew and vino. The very nice bartender said that at about 10-11 there would be quite a gaggle to navigate. But no red. We had to move on.
Tim O — Google review
The sleepy town of Wailuku has a lot of charm, specifically the buildings along Main and Market Streets that date back to possibly the late 1800's/early 1900's. They have a "San Francisco allure" about them that I love. Unfortunately, the town's potential isn't fulfilled as many spots sit vacant or close early due to a lack of surrounding nightlife. Enter 2017 and Wai Bar. Wai in Hawaiian means water or liquid. ATMOSPHERE: They've taken the right half of what used to be Emura Jewelry. The interior has a dark theme with simple decor. A good-sized bar sits to the right with a few standup-only high tops to the left, bay window seating with a view of Market Street and a small outdoor patio out back. BEVERAGE: A to Z Chardonnay This Oregon-based white was light-bodied with subtle fruit flavors and very refreshing. SERVICE: Bartender service was friendly and quick. OVERALL: Great addition to the area. Hopefully more entrepreneurs will take note and liven up Wailuku town!
Maui T — Google review
I'm torn. I want to give this bar 5 stars. It has a fantastic alcohol selection, plenty of local tap beers, and a great local atmosphere. The main problem is the music. There is a stage at the end of the bar that has live music most nights. The music is great and the local bands are fun to listen to. The problem is the insistence of amplifying the band's sound. In a bar of this size, letting a band use loud speakers is just odd. The sound bounces off the hard walls and you have to yell to have a conversation with friends or the server. Turn down the volume and it would get 5 stars easily.

My favorite bar on Maui! Great drinks, fun variety of events, and it has always been LGBT+ inclusive for 5+ years I’ve been going. There’s security every day of the week and it feels very safe. They cater to both locals and tourists and it gets a fun, lively crowd on weekends and event nights. The owner, Johnny, is really a solid guy who always looking out for his patrons and the community, and always strives to do the right thing and take care of everyone. Maui needs more establishments like Wai Bar, especially for the LGBT+ community so we know we have a safe and accepting space with a lot of aloha!

It is traditionally served with steamed white rice and macaroni salad. This place is highly recommended for those who appreciate unique and flavorful dishes.
Amazing pastries! Super friendly staff too. We stopped by this on the way to the airport after spending a week on the island. The only regret is that we didn’t discover this place earlier as we would have come by several time. Don’t miss the ginger cookies.

This place was one of the last places we went to. The pastries were all amazing. We tried 3 different kinds because they do sell out pretty fast. I would come here when they first open in order to get your first picks. If you come later on, there might not be any left for the day. They also have ready to go meals in case you want a quick meal. Good service. You can find nearby parking. Prices are economical.

This food court is a hidden gem in Wailuku. The pastries smack! The bentos are good too. And everything sells out daily so if there’s something you really want, then go early. The parking lot is small and apparently closed when we came so something to look out for. Very casual ambience given that it is a food court which is perfect for kids and families. You wouldn’t expect such high end pastries from a food court, highly recommend!

Went with my sister recently. The staff were exceptionally kind. Ordered the miso pork belly and strawberry guava pavlova bento for myself. This felt like a small portion at first when I got it to the eating it was portioned very well! The pork belly was very tasty and the sides went well with it all the change up the flavor. Also got a matcha dessert pastry (pictured) with it and this was amazingly refreshing! My sister had the fried chicken and she loved it as well. Can’t tell anything about the flavor cause it was there one moment but gone the next but I’m guessing it was good. The peace de resistance was this pastry that was given to us as a taster treat that they were added into their menu soon -I think. It was salmon and I believe feta cheese which was savory and sweet. Love, loved, will order again soon! Lastly and later in the day, we shared a delicious sweet pork bun (pictured) (sweet and yummy) and a pot pie bun (home-y with a bit too much bread) too. We ate these a bit later that day because what we had above was very filling. Didn’t get too many pics but will next time!

The Gazebo is a popular dining spot located in the Napili Shores condo complex, offering American cuisine with a focus on breakfast. Despite its somewhat hidden location behind the resort's pool, the restaurant draws large crowds, often forming long lines even before its 7:30 am opening time. Guests waiting in line are offered fresh coffee and are rewarded with stunning ocean views and a relaxed beach-hut atmosphere upon being seated.
Worth the wait! Come early or plan for a late brunch. We were told to arrive at 6:30am because seating is very limited. When we arrived, there were 2-3 other people in line but the line was very long by opening time. Another perk to arriving early: you get to choose your table! We had a beautiful view of the beach and ocean. Tables seat up to 4 people, so if you come in a large group, you will have to split up. Our food was served soon after we ordered which was a pleasant surprise. I recommend the Mac nut pancakes and the eggs Benedict although our waitress said the omelettes are outstanding. Speaking of our waitress, she was awesome, spunky, and so friendly! Homemade coconut syrup and maple syrup made our pancakes even better. The atmosphere is open-air with a nice ocean breeze and lots of little birds flying in and out of the space. If you enjoy breakfast with a view, check out this place but be prepared to wait in line for a while or wake up early to get a good spot.
Melia — Google review
If you’re in Maui and don’t go to The Gazebo… well, you’re missing out. Their macadamia pancakes are legendary—seriously, probably the best on the entire island. Yes, you might have to wait in line for an hour, but think of it as building up your appetite for pancake heaven. Totally worth it. Bonus points: the little souvenir kiosk next door is super cute, affordable, and genuinely Maui—perfect for grabbing a small keepsake while you drool over your pancakes. They don’t serve loco moco anymore, so forget that and go all-in on pancakes, maybe with some sweet pineapple on the side. You’ll leave happy, full, and already dreaming about your next visit.
Daniel C — Google review
We got the scrambled eggs and the combo pancakes. They were delicious and amazing and the servings here are huge. Definitely recommend coming here as it opens so you don't have to wait in line. If you come later, just know you can do takeout and that will be way way faster.
Minal S — Google review
Popular breakfast spot with beach views. We read other reviews that recommended arriving here earlier than the 7:30am opening time. We arrived at 7am and it was 35 minute wait after opening. The line moved slowly because there’s limited seating and people don’t rush but it’s a vacation vibe, so what do you expect. We ordered the combo pancakes and the half order of fried rice. The half order portion was huge - I still had leftovers after the meal. Cash and credit cards accepted but it’s more expensive to use credit cards. The view of the water was great and our waitress was efficient. Everyone was chilling and assuming that you’re not in a rush, it is a good place to stop by.
Shanelle S — Google review
Really nice spot for breakfast. Great views of the ocean and relatively affordable for the quantity provided. I would highly recommend the omelettes. We also ordered a shrimp sandwich which was really fresh and tasty. There is ample parking available and don’t miss out on the fresh fruit! Highly recommended.
Yash M — Google review
You’re coming here for the incredible ocean and beach views whilst enjoying a decent breakfast. Seriously, it’s the atmosphere that is the selling point. But you’ll pay the price, not so much in dollars but time. People in line said it would take an hour and came previous days where it was even longer. For pancakes and eggs? Yeah. So a pro tip: order by phone and it takes 25-20 minutes. Grab a table or lounger right next to the restaurant outside by the hotel pool. Same incredible view but much faster! But they’re super nice. They have umbrellas to shade from the sun. They gave cups of ice water too. Food: Pancakes were average. Not particularly fluffy or special quality. And they gave a huge platter of cream which of course made them better. The omelette with Swiss cheese (forgot the official name) was pretty good but ya gotta like cheese. Portuguese sausages were the best item IMO. Breakfast potatoes pretty good too. But the toast wasn’t very toasty.
G L — Google review
We waited an hour in the rain for a table and it was totally worth it! We over ordered though! Next time, we will order half as much and split it. The pancake combo will be something I dream about. We also enjoyed the breakfast fried rice. There was so much food that we will be eating fried rice for dinner. 🤣🤣🤣 I can’t wait to come here again! Ohhhh—-the coffee was delicious. It’s local. Maui Ona. I bought 3 bags!

When you heard people say there will be line, on serious note there is at least 1 hr of waiting in line. A girl in front of us fainted after 45min of waiting in sun due to dehydration. But staff were nice and immediately attended to her, helped with some water & Juice. Wait is all worth it. We loved the food and service. Quantities are big, be generous while you order. Maui Tropical Plantation, located near Wailuku, is a 60-acre working farm that offers visitors an immersive experience in Maui's commercial crops. The plantation showcases a variety of fruits, herbs, and vegetables and provides tram tours through its field crops. Visitors can learn about the growth of sugarcane and pineapples while enjoying close-up views of flowers, plants, and fruit trees found in Hawaii.
This was our second visit- first was two years ago. This was a great tour for seniors who may have somewhat limited mobility (cane). Our tour guide was great- lots of great information, funny jokes, and interesting personal stories. I wish the tour were just a few minutes longer because I am sure there were more interesting things to hear! We enjoyed the farm/gift shop and purchased several items there. The grounds were beautiful with lots of varied tropical plants, flowers, and trees as well as ponds and architectural details. Just a great place to spend a hot afternoon in the shade and breeze!

The Maui Tropical Plantation tour was amazing! My kids and I gained a lot of interesting information, especially about coconuts, thanks to our very knowledgeable guide. The 45-minute tour offers comfortable seating, though the walking area is limited. While a bit pricey, the huge shop makes up for it with a ton of gift, veggie, and fruit choices at good prices, and the staff are super friendly. Plus, the Maui Zipline Company is conveniently located right there!

Lunch at the restaurant was FANTASTIC! Great farmers market type store. Our tour guide was great. We did this instead of the pineapple tour, manly because we heard the restaurant was great, and it was, but also because it was 1/4 the price of the other. The other tour would probably be “better” but this one was well worth the $25 (instead of $95)!

Took a 40 minute tram tour around the plantation field/displays with lots of education about Hawaii's predominant crop development. Also current cultivated species. Was $25. Fun and interesting finds in gift shop. Good light lunch in on-site restaurant. Other activities possible here also. Worth the stop.

Beautiful spot to visit while in Maui! Walked around the plantation and really enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and lush scenery. Had breakfast at the café — everything was fresh and tasty. Also loved browsing the gift shop, which had a great selection of local products and souvenirs. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area!

Very cool quick little tour. Ocean was our tour guide and she was a great mix of informative and funny. There were a few places to shop and a restaurant as well, but we didn't have time to look through them.

Top reason to choose this excursion over the rest is good Hospitality❣️ Nate, Seth and Pono are incredible Zipline guides, because they each embody their own respectful characteristics. As a Team, they lead their tour with ease as they prepare you for each jump. I got a crash course on learning how to become a monkey and their skill combined with hysterical spirit lifted my nerves on every jump. I didn’t think I was walking into a comedic experience, but I left the tropical plantation smiling. The hospitality that I received from them wasn’t directly to me, but what caught my heart was seeing how they treat Mothers and children. Boys are not easy to raise; I don’t have one..I have a little girl and she’s cake 🎂 sweet and easy to make. Yet, each instructor taught a son about respecting their mom; which is what money can’t buy… character development for children is not sold in stores. It’s thru elders and experiences and I could see in this teenagers 👀 he wanted to be just as cool as them. Each guide stood their ground on their rules and morals and it was outstanding. The plantation is sacred, so take your time enjoying the bright gardens and humongous trees while feeding the ducks 🦆 and when your feeling hungry 🤤 they have the answer for that too at their restaurants.

**“Oops! We accidentally walked halfway through the tram tour without paying — we were just too excited to see the sights! A security person noticed and followed us all the way out of the tour path. Please give us a break — it was totally unintentional 😅. Overall, it’s a really nice place to visit! Just a tip for the staff: maybe take it a little easy on the visitors 😉.”**

Nestled next to the Maui Ocean Center in Maalaea, Seascape Restaurant is a must-visit for anyone looking to indulge in island-inspired seafood dishes while soaking up stunning water views. This charming eatery offers a delightful menu featuring fresh options like the Seascape Cobb Salad with Cajun Mahi Mahi and Crab Cake, as well as hearty sandwiches that are perfect after exploring the aquarium.
We did the $35 3 course meal offered when buying our aquarium tickets and it was really great food. I didn't know what to expect but the dish we had was top notch, one of the best meals we have had here. I think the value for what we paid was really good! A lot of people complaining about the pricing, but you're on a beach front restaurant in Maui, not sure what people expect. Also had a cocktail which was delicious and really reasonable. Highly recommend the 3 course meal option!

Had the fresh catch of the day fish sandwich, it was absolutely incredible! Also, the purple rain adult beverage was delicious and came in a really cute tiki cup! Sitting outside right by the water it was Soo good! Definitely will go there again when I'm back on Maui!

Was recommended after our helicopter tours. Stop at the Maui Ocean Center. It is attached to the aquarium. Ordered rhe Canada's (Cathch of the day) which was Onaga (snapper) with shrimp and taro potatoes. It was amazing. We also ordered the tempura lobster tail. Different but still excellent. All the food was cooked to perfection! I'm not a shrimp fan but these were cooked perfectly! Our server Caysha was extremely nice and helpful. Food came out quick. It is outdoor seating so you have to deal with flies and birds and an occasional chicken but it did not take away from the experience. Decently priced for the quality of the food. We really enjoyed everything about this place! Highly recommended for service, taste, and view!

The view was incredible and the menu offers a wide variety of plates. I ordered the poke bowl on the waitress’s recommendation. The bowl arrived and was a beautiful thing to behold. I picked up a fork and poked it into a square piece of tender fish covered in a spicy sauce. Then I made the mistake and put the bite in my mouth...now and forever more I will be seeking to repeat that experience. The bite was so beautiful, so subtle, so sublime, if it was my last meal; that would have been better….the taste was such perfection that I literally cried. I have never yet in all my sixty years experienced such an emotional reaction to a bite of food, but before that bite I had never known food could be such an orgasmic experience. The curried peas and the six minute egg….the beautiful and perfectly dressed salad…the sticky rice…all of it….a food-gasm I had never imagined possible. The bowl was $30…who could pontificate that such an experience would cost so little. It stopped all conversation and each person at the table focused on the bowl or plate of pleasure before them. They had different things. None of us shared bites of dinner as we devoured in a blessed ritual the wonder before us. Run, don’t walk. You don’t want to live another day without experiencing this food. Bowing down to the chef and the magic hands that put this together for us.

The food was good, and the view was great. The staff was friendly. What surprised me the most, and why I can't give it five stars, is the lack of services for kids. They have a high chair, but that's about all. There are no special water cups with lids and straws for children, and nothing to keep them occupied while we wait for food. I would expect more from a restaurant in an aquarium where the target audience is families with kids.

808 Old Town in Wailuku, Maui offers a chic and airy setting where you can enjoy creative gourmet sandwiches, lettuce wraps, burgers, and pupus. The restaurant hosts a happy hour from Monday to Friday between 3-6pm with discounts on food and drinks. Customers praise the casual and friendly atmosphere of the place. The turkey sandwich with spicy pasta salad is recommended for its light yet flavorful taste.
I ordered the hot turkey panini with cream of broccoli soup. Everything was perfect. Great taste and pairing. The music faded softly as the breeze swept nice aroma through the air. Space is perfect for small or large groups. I chose seating close to the outside to enjoy both views.

I recently visited 808 Old Town at the suggestion of local friends, and I really enjoyed the cute, coffee-and-island vibe of the place. The restrooms at the back were impressively clean, which is always a plus. After indulging in heavy Hawaiian fare for over a week, it was refreshing to enjoy a sandwich with fries instead. The service was attentive, although the interior was a bit warm during our visit. My partner ordered the Katsu, which was decent but tasted a bit too much like plain ketchup, and the spicy pasta salad could use some improvement. Despite these minor setbacks, the overall atmosphere was fun, and I appreciated the great company, making for a pleasant experience overall!

The former Bistro On Main and 808 On Main is now 808 Old Town. ATMOSPHERE: Not much has changed, sans for maybe new furniture? Even then I'm not 100% positive. The space is an old building with high ceilings, no a/c, and awning-style windows. A small room at the front can be used for private dining, and features high tops and counter seating that looks out to the sidewalk & street. Oddly, there is no bar, yet they have an extensive bar menu. The rest of the space is filled with regular tables. Restrooms are located in the building next door, accessible with a communal key. FOOD: Kimchi Hummus It sounds odd, but was really tasty! I guess it's traditional hummus, but they mix in kimchi, which turns the dip orange, and lifts the ho-hum hummus to a whole other level in the flavor department. Spice rating is a 1 on a 5 scale, very mild. Toasted and chewy pita triangles are used for dipping. Highly recommended. Spicy Chicken Wings Unfortunately they were all drumette pieces, no wingettes. Boo! Spice level is a 3 on a 5 scale, and overall was a bit dry. Classic Cheeseburger This was my spouse's dish. The single bite I had was so disappointing, as the thick-formed patty was chewy and mushy because it was underdone, and didn't have much flavor. The fries were warm and crispy, though I've had better. Where are the pickles?? Chicken Pesto Primavera My dish! The pasta fanatic in me will always order this first over everything else on the menu, and what a great choice it was. The spaghetti was done in a creamy pesto sauce that had tons of flavor and depth, along with yellow peppers, pine nuts, tender strips of chicken, fresh basil, fresh parmesan cheese, and 3 tasty slices of garlic bread. Highly recommended for the pasta and pesto fan! SERVICE: Our female server was friendly, professional, and checked on us often. OVERALL: Good food & service, fair portions.

I’ve been coming here for years and the food has always been pretty good, but this time we had an amazing server (Haley) She was really sweet and attentive. Great servers like her definitely make me excited to come back in the future. (Food wise, their bbq fries are bomb, seared ahi serving is huge, and paninis are good. Also mimosas are only 3 dollars on happy hour.)

Food is good, always came a few times a week when 808 on main because our law office is close by. Then the last few times we've come since new owners and we started ordering out because both server girls have severe attitudes and have no urgency for people on lunch break. Great job to the chef's.

Thai Mee Up is a rustic-chic food truck that offers hearty Thai dishes such as fried pork ribs and curry, served at picnic tables. The boneless ribs are tender and juicy, glazed with a balance of umami fish sauce, citrus, and sweetness. Despite its food truck setting, Thai Mee Up has gained a loyal customer base due to its bold flavors and laid-back atmosphere. Customers praise the visually appealing and flavorful dishes, with options for varying levels of spiciness.
We had the chicken satee and it was delicious! The peanut sauce was to die for! And the spicy slaw also yummy! Even though the chicken was the meat, there was no fat or skin. Highly recommend. Great food truck park with lots of options.
Julie V — Google review
Anyone that knows me, knows that food trucks aren't my favorite as many of them simply disappoint me with lackluster food. It took an episode of Diners, Drive In's & Dives (2017) to spark interest in me to try Thai Mee Up. Unfortunately the dish I wanted to try that was featured on the episode, Stuffed Chicken Wings, isn't offered any longer. No biggie as I'm up to trying other items. LOCATION: The granddaddy of food trucks (it looks like an RV!) is located in the food truck park across from Costco Kahului. Covered picnic tables are shared with the other trucks. MENU: Ribs, chicken, shrimp, curry, vegetarian option, chicken, specials menu, Thai iced coffee, Thai iced tea. FOOD: Pad Thai Shrimp It's a huge portion, good for around three people. The sauce flavor was a little sweet for me but not in excess that I didn't like it. I splashed on some shoyu and black pepper and was good to go. The noodles were cooked perfectly, mixed with six pieces of crunchy shrimp, bean sprouts, carrots, garlic and green onions. A diced peanut and scrambled egg mixture topped the dish, giving it a nice crunch with added moisture to the otherwise dense dish. I'm not a pad Thai expert but it was very good. I'd order this again plus chicken to add more protein. Salmon My spouse's dish that I had a forkful from. Man, talk about flavorful! I've never had salmon seasoned this well. In addition to its good moisture, the filet was infused with garlicky, sweet and salty goodness without any fishiness. My spouse loathes any form of bell peppers so beware that this came topped with some red bell peppers. Lemongrass Fried Chicken After receiving a sample of this the last time I was here, it was my mission to have a full plate of it as it was that good. I'm not a huge fan of lemongrass so it was a good thing that only a few pieces of chicken were seasoned with it. It mainly tastes like plain 'ol fried chicken, not a bad thing in my book. I did however start to dip them in a bit of shoyu for more of a zing. My only gripe about this dish is that the pieces of chicken are the size of Fritos chips; good but larger-sized pieces would be more delectable. A small portion of green papaya salad came to the side. SERVICE: Counter service was friendly and professional. Free samples of their Lemongrass Fried Chicken were handed out. OMG, absolutely ordering that next time! Food service took about ten minutes as it's fired-to-order and came out piping hot. Yes! TIP: The Stuffed Chicken Wings are no longer offered. OVERALL: Big portions, fair pricing, good food. A definite return. Only a handful of food trucks can make me say that.

Fun little area with tons of food trucks to choose from! My husband and I tried Thai Mee Up and enjoyed our meals. We tried the Cashew Tofu, Vegetable Fried Rice and the Drunken Noodle. The Cashew Tofu was definitely our favorite. My husband also loved the Drunken Noodle, which he said had a good spice level to it as well. We both liked the fried rice, but felt it was lacking a bit of flavor. However, we took our meals to go, so perhaps adding soy sauce or their hot sauce in person could have helped, regardless it was still very good! Of note, we are vegetarian and I believe we were charged and given what I think was Fried Pork Ribs. While they looked good and I’m sure had tons of flavor, they went to waste. I’m not sure how that happened, but oh well.

Very cute food truck park just down from the Maui airport across from Costco. Had the Thai food truck - their Pad Thai with chicken and their garlic shrimp entrees. The food was very good, plenty to fill us up. $15-16 per entree.

Amazing Thai food truck in Maui! The location is perfect and the food is even better. I’ve been to Thailand a few times, and this place instantly brought me back to the streets of Bangkok (just a bit pricier than street food, haha). I ordered the Pad See Ew and... It was incredible! Honestly one of the best I’ve had outside Thailand, and I could’ve easily eaten two. Prices are fair for the quality and portion. The seating area is covered, so you’re good whether it’s sunny or raining, and the whole place has a cozy, chill vibe surrounded by other food trucks. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in Maui and craving real Thai flavors.

I had the most unforgettable curry at Mama’s Fish House—rich, layered, perfection—and when I asked about it, they told me the chef behind that masterpiece had moved on, started his own food truck. That’s what brought me here. Turns out, the owner of this truck is the same chef who crafted the best curry I’ve ever tasted in Hawai‘i. And let me tell you, the curry here did not disappoint. It’s every bit as complex, bold, and soulful as I remembered. If you’re chasing that perfect bowl—this is where the trail leads. Highly recommend. Panang curry with chicken—creamy, rich coconut milk coaxed into submission with red curry paste. The chicken was tender, not fancy, just right, soaking up every bit of that sauce. I found myself spooning it like it was the last meal I’d get with a roof over my head. green curry with vegetables—lighter, fresher, but no less assertive. The green curry with just enough sweetness. Carrots, bell peppers, and squash. Pad see ew with chicken—Fat rice noodles slicked with a dark, savory sauce. Roasted garlic, egg, maybe a hint of sweetness to tame the salt. The chicken came in juicy, familiar slices, and the Chinese broccoli still had a snap to it. Ahi tuna, pan-fried to a gentle sear, roasted garlic and cilantro. The green papaya salad on the side cut the richness like a blade. That chili water? Sharp, thin, unforgiving—a perfect slap in the mouth. It reminded you that balance doesn’t come from playing it safe. 10/10

We were looking for a red curry and went with the chicken Penang with extra chicken. The flavor was there but the chicken was not for me. Maybe it was due to it being a darker meat than is usually served back home. My husband was disappointed in the amount that was there considering he had ordered extra. It was not spicy at all.

An amazingly beautiful setting for a fantastic restaurant. Set in an old plantation, the restaurant serves delicious dishes featuring local ingredients and served with an abundance of Aloha. The staff is absolutely the best, friendly and attentive. The dining rooms and bar are large open spaces with plenty of room. The tables and booths are comfortable and most afford a great view of the surroundings. While evenings can get busy, brunch and lunch service are very accommodating on most days. There is plenty of parking just a short walk from the restaurant. Accessibility is available to most as everything is on ground level.

The food was excellent, but the service was absolutely terrible. The moment we sat down, someone came to ask what we wanted to order — I hadn’t even opened the menu yet. Within the next three minutes, three different people came to our table asking the same question. Okay, I get it — the kitchen closes at 3 PM and they only serve happy hour food afterward, but that’s still no excuse for such an unprofessional approach. I had literally just sat down and hadn’t even opened the menu, yet we were told we had to order immediately — food first, drinks later — because the kitchen was “closing soon.” Maybe that’s why they added a kitchen appreciation fee to the bill? I have no idea, since no one bothered to mention it. The food came out really fast — the fries were a bit cold, but the burger was delicious. The cocktail, however, arrived after the food. And just after my third bite of the burger, the check was placed on our table. The waitress didn’t even ask how the food was or if we needed anything — just dropped the bill. My boyfriend and I looked at each other like, is this for real? I hadn’t even finished my drink yet! Okay, maybe she was in a hurry to go home because her shift was ending, but in that case, don’t take a new table if you can’t serve it properly. Several people came by to ask if we were ready to order, but no one refilled my water — my glass stayed empty the whole time. Honestly, I was really disappointed with the service. Such a shame, because the food deserved better.

We suffered through two hours of traffic from Kaanapali to attend their $50 per person Prime Rib and Seafood Buffet on a Friday night only to be met with more frustration and disappointment. This restaurant has zero ambiance, housed in an open room that reminds one of a junior high school multi-purpose room. Fold-up tables, plastic chairs, harsh lighting, tile floors that resonate all the adult loud voices and the feet of the locals' meandering children that are given no limits to their interaction with other diners. If you enjoy "family" dining like this, this is for you. Fine dining it is not. The Prime Rib was, admittedly, delicious. The Seafood consisted of hot and cold snow crab and a mixture of shrimp and noodles in a bland and watery alfredo sauce, a total of exactly two seafood offerings. There were also beef ribs and chicken pieces in gravy. All were lukewarm, though tasty. The mixed vegetables looked like they were right out of a Costco bag and had cooled, the mashed potatoes were dried out, and the white rice was ... white rice. In summary a totally uninspiring and tasteless array of the basics served in classic stainless steel pans without adornment of any kind. The one sole single waitress was trying to serve about 40 diners. We asked twice for a wine list before being told they didn't have everything on the list. We asked for and received a glass of generic Sauvignon Blanc. The dessert table was such a mess of pie remnants, store-bought cookies, and warm sliced cantaloupe that we passed and hurried off to another establishment for dessert and a nice bottle of wine, never to return.

I didn't think that there was worse food on the island than Charley's. I'm speechless by how awful the buffet options were... Literally nothing was fresh. If they gave us a to-go box on the way out, I would decline. The roast was more akin to a wet gym sock; mostly due to the fact that it was sliced on the wrong grain making it impossible to cut and chew. The best part of the experience was watching golfers hit the balls into the woods. Save yourself thirty bucks and go to Whole Foods.

Sunday brunch....Nothing to shout home about. Guess I'm spoiled with the brunch from bygone days of the Prince hotel in Makena. Prime rib was good. While I was offered great choices of omelet "additives", the chef didn't know how to cook it. Eggs should not be "browned". Too many carbs, not enough fresh veggies. Dessert was minimal and uninspired. View is unequaled.

Nice atmosphere, but pretty average food, with above average prices. Very limited menu options. Opakapaka was overcooked, steak was slightly under cooked. Ahi sashimi very nicely prepared, but then over drizzled with mayo. For 2 with no booze, and 1 entree each, 1 app, 1 salad: $100. As a long time local resident, I expect more. If not for good service and nice ambience, would rate 2*.

Fantastic Chinese food. The prices are incredible. Locals constantly came to pick up food. The mango smoothie was amazing and the Kung pao chicken was delicious. The walnut shrimp was some of the best shrimp I’ve ever had (and I eat a lot of shrimp). Huge portions and the best price. You can’t find more affordable food on this strip. As a tourist, I came here several times during my trip. They had non Chinese food too, they had breakfast items, burgers, chicken nuggets, and more. I parked at the Kalama Beach Parking lot (free) and just crossed the street over to Kings. I had a stroller with me and there’s a way to enter the restaurant with a stroller and/or wheelchair on the side of the restaurant, near the smoothie board.

Go for plate lunch, mac salad is good and they make the best loco moco: well-seasoned patty, perfectly runny egg, homemade gravy! It's part of the mixed plate, hint hint

Solid plate lunch options, went twice during my trip and was decent. Didn’t wait much/not too busy, and the workers were friendly as well. First visit we had the orange chicken which hit the spot and was super crispy. Second visit, had to run it back with the Orange chicken, and also had the mochiko chicken/walnut shrimp, which was okay, but if I’m being honest the shrimp was a bit too heavy on the mayo… might just be my preference tho! Shrimp was still crisp through the coating which made for a good texture. Portion sizes was a great as well!

Our meal at King Chinese Barbecue was delightfully delicious, featuring an impressive selection of fried shrimp, fried chicken, short ribs, and grilled salmon. However, our dining experience was marred by several service and cleanliness issues. Unfortunately, we received no offer of water, and the cleanliness of our dining area was below expectations. We encountered ants at our first table, and a closer inspection revealed that the tables were not properly cleaned, with visible grime beneath the clear mats. This lack of attention to cleanliness significantly detracted from our overall experience and was the main reason for not awarding a higher rating. Family would like to grab food and leave next time.

Rather large portions, and really tasty. Had the mixed seafood plate, bbq plate & oxtail soup. Will definitely go there again🤙. UPDATE: Their food is just excellent! Never had a dish that was not super tasty. The place might not look like much - However, their Hawaiian/Asian fusion style food is just great. Highly recommended!

We ordered takeout and were underwhelmed with the flavoring. The food was good, didn't taste bad though, and we didn't get sick. Definitely a plus. Would not come back here though.

Carl’s Jr. is a popular fast-food chain offering a wide selection of stacked burgers, meal combos, and indulgent shakes. Customers appreciate the dual concept with The Green Burrito, where the 'Green Burrito' dish is highly recommended. The appetizers menu features favorites like 'Jalapeno Poppers' and 'Fried Zucchini,' while the Oreo Milkshake stands out as a must-try beverage.
We were on a spur of the moment drive to go up Haleakala and stopped to get some nourishment for the trip. Unlike some other fast food places Carl’s Jr serves lunch in the morning so we were able to get what we wanted and then head out. Oh, and Raven is an excellent member of the team at Carl’s.
Jack D — Google review
I recently visited Carl's Jr. and while there were a few areas that could use some improvement, I was genuinely impressed by the staff and the service provided. The team was outstanding – they greeted me with warm smiles and were incredibly friendly throughout my visit. Their prompt service and attention to detail made my dining experience quite pleasant. The staff was knowledgeable about the menu and offered great recommendations, which I appreciated as a first-time visitor. They were quick to serve and made sure our order was accurate and to our liking. However, I found the ambiance to be a bit lacking, and the food, while decent, didn't quite meet my expectations given the hype around the brand. It was good, but not great. I think with a bit of tweaking in the kitchen and some updates to the dining area, Carl's Jr. could really shine, especially with such a stellar team at the helm. In summary, the excellent service and friendly staff are the main highlights at this Carl's Jr. location. They certainly deserve recognition for their efforts and professionalism.

Maui's sole location is in the middle of nowhere, AKA Maalaea, right next to the Maui Ocean Center. They're attached to a gas station and convenience store with indoor seating. MENU: This location has a very limited menu. Certain options listed on the website are not available. Call before heading down. FOOD: The Big Carl This was honestly one of the best cheeseburgers I've eaten from a fast-food place on Maui. It's almost up there with the Double Double from In N Out. Almost. Original Six Dollar Thickburger The 1/2 lb., single patty burger had great flavor and is topped with cheese, ketchup, mustard, and mayo. Super Star with Cheese Very similar in size to Jack In The Box's Ultimate Cheeseburger. The taste was a cross between a Quarter Pounder and Whopper. It was loaded with pickles, onions, tomatoes, and lettuce, then lathered with mayo, and their "special sauce" which tasted like mustard/ketchup. Wow, I was FULL after eating this beast! Crisscut Fries Seasoned waffle fries. Good flavor but not as tasty as JITB's version. SERVICE: Semi-fast and friendly. OVERALL: Super pricey!

We couldn’t believe that the Steak and Lobster was still a$30 special. The best and cheapest we have ever had. The fish was outstanding. Servers were so attentive it may annoy some people. We loved it so much we came back another time towards the end of our 10 day stay.

So this is a tough one to review. On one hand I like Carl's Jr. On the other hand it's in a gas station, which make the food experience harder to enjoy. It has the advantage of being near the Aquarium and the Minigolf entertainment park, which is why it gets the four stars because it becomes the most affordable food option of the three.

Double Western Bacon Cheeseburger with extra bacon. Order a side of onion rings, add a couple extra rings to your burger and a little extra bbq sauce. One of the best burgers on Maui. And you get the full meal (with drink) for around $16.

Nestled at the end of your street, Tradewinds Mart & Deli is a charming neighborhood gem located on the ground floor of the Maalaea Mermaid condo building. This delightful spot is just a short stroll from your accommodations and serves as an ideal stop for picking up fresh local produce, deli meats, and scrumptious sandwiches—perfect for enjoying lunch on your lanai or during a scenic drive to Hana.
Awesome spot for a quick bite. Hand crafted sandwiches at decent prices. Small selection of grocery items, beer and liquor. We had 4 different sandwiches and they were all delicious. Employees were friendly. Tucked away and definitely not a modern tourist spot but that is most of the charm. If you can find it, you win!

Stoppped while passing through; highly recommend doing so and support this local business. Try the spicy Thai basil pork; this is a must try. Great flavor and has just enough kick that everyone will enjoy. We also had the shoyu chicken over rice it was good but man that Thai basil pork was out of the ballpark.

We stopped here to get 4 sandwiches to go for a hike, they told us it would be 10 min. but we watched them serve others who ordered after us and the wait was actually over 35 min. The Vanta Coffee Hub is a local spot that serves great food and coffee. The owner is friendly, and the pancakes are delicious. It's a great stop before or after travelling to the airport.
This was the perfect breakfast place before flying out to Kauai. The banana pancakes were perfect! Large, fluffy, and stuffed with bananas. My hazelnut latte was also very flavorful. The couple that runs this place was very sweet. It is small, so there could be a wait but definitely worth it! Highly recommend and will definitely be coming back the next time we come to Maui!

Vanta Coffee Hub is such a cozy little spot with Hawaiian-American breakfast diner vibes. The staff is super friendly and attentive, and I loved that they welcomed us with a plate of fresh fruit—that was such a sweet touch! Definitely a place I’d come back to for a chill breakfast or brunch.

Great food, easy parking in a partially shaded parking lot. The atmosphere was very nice and quiet. By far the best part of Vanta Coffee Hub is the couple the runs the place. They are incredibly nice and attentive. We will be going back just to chat with them. Portuguese sausage and rice was great.

We stopped by here on our way out to the airport and wow oh wow!!! It’s was delicious. Very attentive staff and very homey vibes. Auntie always making sure we had everything and uncle brought over bananas after we finished our HUGE breakfast. They are very generous almost like you’re eating at your grandparents home. It’s very tiny; but also felt like we eating together as Ohana. The inside is very cool, they have maps to pin where you’re visiting from as well as a wall full of other people’s currency, you can trade anything less than $20 and they pin your country on the wall. Still craving my pancakes, so fluffy and had actual banana inside them! Will definitely recommend 10/10!

Wonderful breakfast at Vanta! You can tell each of our food items were made with love. It felt like your mom and dad were serving you a perfect breakfast. The mixed fruit smoothie was very well made. The iced lattes were flavorful with the perfect amount of sweetness. The breakfast sandwich on the croissant was hearty and packed with sausage and bacon. Glad we stopped by!

Our boys day out adventure started with brunch. I swayed my friends away from a buffet which I'm not fond of, and figured it was the perfect time to try this place that has a 5-star average rating with over 100 reviews. I tried to pick up lunch from here a few months ago but my lunch time was not jiving with their lunch schedule. ATMOSPHERE: They're located in a dinky strip mall, the Hookahi Business Center, in the Wailuku Industrial Park. The inside is clean and inviting but small, with seating for only 14 people max. We came in around 11am on a Sunday and luckily grabbed the sole 4-top table. Tables were constantly occupied. MENU: Coffees, breakfast selections, ramen. Because I feel I can easily make breakfast at home, and they were out of their local plate lunches, I took a chance on their "ramen". I'm not sure whether to laugh from disbelief or be mad with insult from what I received. You be the judge. FOOD: Ramen Noodle Soup I thought the price was abnormally cheap for ramenl. What the heck, take a chance. It took a good maybe 10 minutes for it to come out, so I had high hopes of a homemade dashi, chewy noodles, and delectable toppings, especially being that the chef/owner is a Japanese national. What came to the table floored me. I thought to myself, no way, it can't be. Sure enough, as soon as I took my first bite of noodles and dashi, I was shocked. It was instant saimin, straight out of the package!? Sapporo Ichiban-brand in the shrimp flavor to be exact. I know because I eat this at home! To add insult to injury, the noodles were overcooked. He did doctor-up the dish with scrambled egg slices, white onions, and a few slices of fresh mushrooms, but come on... In reality, this dish was marked up 171% if you do the math. SERVICE: The man running the front of the house was friendly in a sushi bar sort of way. You get the greeting and thank you, but nothing in the middle. TIP: They're open for breakfast & lunch only, with lunch served at 11am. OVERALL: When and if they ever bring back the local plates is when I'll return. If not, I can make breakfast and instant saimin at home.

Havens Harborside Fish & ChopHouse is a spacious and inviting restaurant located by the harbor, offering both cozy corners for intimate dinners and ample space for larger gatherings. The menu features a variety of options to please everyone at the table, including charbroiled steaks and clams steamed with sake and Portuguese sausage. Renovated from the inside out, this stylish harbor-front establishment has garnered praise for its great food, management, and service.
We didn't have any reservations to this beautiful restaurant, but we're able to be assisted as walk in guests. The ambience is outstanding. The view can't beat overlooking the harbor, South Kihei and of course beautiful Haleakala. The food is beyond Ono (delicious.) The flavors, food presentation as we locals like to say, "Broke the Mouth!" The friendly services from the hostess, our waiter Scott, the manager 100% extraordinary. I truly recommend this establishment a must try. ❤️🤙

This was my second visit to Haven’s, and once again, I had a great experience. On my first visit, I had the Smashburger — easily one of the best I’ve had. On our return, we went for the Tomahawk steak and scallops. Both were absolutely delicious. The atmosphere is a standout, with a beautiful view of the harbor at sunset that really elevates the experience. Service was excellent — the staff is friendly and attentive, checking in often. The only small suggestion there is to give guests a bit more space between check-ins, as too many can interrupt the flow of conversation between guests. The drink selection was solid. Cocktails and wines were well chosen, and I really liked the beer selection — a nice change from the usual big-brand lineup. I’d still love to see more non-alcoholic options added down the line. If I had one other note, it’s that prices feel a bit high for a newer restaurant, especially compared to some well-established spots on Maui. That said, the quality is clear, and Haven’s has real potential. Wishing the team all the best — I’m looking forward to seeing how they grow.

Great spot in Maalaea Bay! Nice big patio overlooking the marina with stylish decor without being pretentious. We stopped in for happy hour (3-4:30pm daily) and enjoyed beers and mai tais (dare I say better than the Monkeypod mai tai) and fish tacos which were up there in the top fish tacos of all time (huge chunk of fish, made with pacific blue marlin). Our server Tim was very attentive and could sell sand to the beach, which was why we stayed for a second drink. Vibe was nice and relaxed, Maalaea can be such a ghost town but the restaurant was maybe like 1/3 full on a Saturday around 4pm.

We chose to have an early Mother’s Day dinner here before returning home to Molokaʻi and we are more than happy we did. Austin was our server and Lance was the Manager that evening and all the staff were so kind, professional, and answered all our questions lol. Us locals get plenty questions. The food was mean! We had the short ribs that you could cut with a fork! Lobster mac and cheese, scallops, super soft steak, and the oyster shooters was the best I ever had, hands down!! I not even kidding. I recommend Haven’s and cannot wait til I go back to Maui to eat there again. Go, you won’t regret it!!

Haven’s Harborside was a great choice, as Google suggested! It’s located in front of the marina, which gives it a very different vibe from the other restaurants we visited in Maui. Our server, Mick, was simply spectacular, recommending wine, dishes, and desserts. Honestly, we didn’t have to see the menu and could’ve gone with his suggestions. Every dish was delicious and beautifully plated. Notable mentions are the crispy Kanpachi Roll (Mick’s reco), the bone-in New York Steak, the Diver Scallops, and the Malasadas. If you haven’t tried them, don’t miss the chance. They’re some kind of a donut with guava jelly injected as they come from the drier. Simply delicious. We had an absolute blast.

Haven’s Restaurant never disappoints! The food is always very good, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the drinks are consistently on point. They had a Pohole salad as a special during our visit, and it was fantastic. Our waitress, Lokelani, was wonderful—friendly, attentive, and super knowledgeable about the menu. She even made the white chocolate crème brûlée herself, and it was extremely good. We’ve been several times now, and the experience is consistently excellent. Haven’s has quickly become one of our favorite spots on the island. Highly recommend!

One of our BEST meals of the entire trip! If you have the opportunity to dine here, do yourself a favor and make it happen! Riley was our server, and he was great! We shared the Caesar salad, wagyu croquettes and rice cake to start which was all 10 out of 10! For the main dishes my husband got the Bucket, I got the smash burger and we split the truffle rissoto. Probably best rissoto I've ever tasted! I do want to mention during our time in Maui we also stayed on the Wailea side at the Grand Wailea Waldorf Astoria and dined at some of the top restaurants over there and at the Four Seasons. Havens beats any of those fancy hotel restaurants by a long shot! Quality food, quality people, quality place!

What an amazing experience! Havens Harborside Fish & ChopHouse truly exceeded our expectations. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with beautiful harbor views that added to the relaxing coastal vibe. But the real star of the evening was the lobster taco — hands down one of the best seafood dishes I've ever had. Fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced, it was a must-try for any seafood lover. A special shoutout to Maria, our server, who made our dinner even more enjoyable. She was incredibly friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. Her thoughtful service made us feel genuinely welcomed and well taken care of. Highly recommended — we’ll definitely be coming back!

We recently took our employees to Ohana Karaoke Room for the second time, and it was another fantastic night! The medium room, accommodating 10-15 people, is priced at $50 an hour, and be sure to reserve in advance. We ended up extending our time because the fun just kept going! The atmosphere was lively, and everyone, especially the girls, had an absolute blast singing their hearts out. We appreciated the option to bring our own food and drinks, which added a personal touch to our experience. However, there were a couple of things we'd like to see improved. The AC was blowing a bit too cold, so layers are recommended! It would also be great to see updates, like removing the carpet for vinyl flooring and a fresh coat of paint on the walls. Overall, we had a wonderful time and will definitely be back again! Thank you, Ohana Karaoke !

Still best Korean Food on the island. Been coming here for many years upon visiting Maui. FYI, Ignore the very nice waitress skill set. She hovers over while trying to make a decision in ordering--feel rushed. Also, she hovers again when paying the bill--like she may think we are going to run off, or stiff her on a tip. Management--it seems she just needs training to become a real waitress. She doesn't seem understand what she is indirectly projecting to customers. Otherwise, She is warm, and provides good service.

But good selection of songs. Negative 5 star rating for customer service from the woman who runs the show and the restaurant. She was extremely rude and nasty, I can’t believe she didn’t monitor our use of the restrooms. She needs some training in how to be nice and show some consideration to her paying customers.

Reserved a Karaoke room, tried to cancel because everyone got sick. Was told cannot cancel only reschedule then she hung up the phone on me. Drove there after work to try and reschedule, gave specific dates to the owner and right away told me no. Tried to ask next available Saturday, was told no more any, asked for the next month, was told no more any weekends available only Wednesday or Thursday. I asked again what the next availability for Saturday and the owner kept telling me no. So I left, my boyfriend called to request the same date I was trying to reschedule for and they told him it was available. Basically they just stole my money and lied to me. I asked nicely, remained calm and didn’t make a scene, the owner was already mad before I could explain myself. Terrible service, no empathy, and didn’t explain their policy when I first made the reservation! Never going here again.

Wei Wei BBQ & Noodle House is a popular strip-mall eatery that serves delectable Chinese barbecue and noodle dishes, alongside burgers available through their convenient walk-up window. One of their standout dishes is the Chicken Katsu, which holds a special place in many customers' hearts due to its unique dipping sauce that perfectly complements the savory chicken. Additionally, this establishment has gained a reputation for having exceptional hot and sour soup, making it the go-to spot for Chinese cuisine on Maui.
Great place to get a lunch good duck and ginger chicken
Kawika F — Google review
I've patronized Wei Wei for years but stopped going because of declining food taste. Decided to give them one last try. ATMOSPHERE: Located in the Millyard industrial area. Plain & simple interior. A/C seems to always be broken. Time for a much needed update as my rating has changed for the better. I actually refrained from coming here after having a horrible cake noodle experience, but have since found a place that does it better. I guess my mom is to credit for my return as she loves ordering a specific dish from here. My craving for Chinese food got the best of me, so I looked at their menu (a pic I posted, thank you very much) and gave them another try. UPDATES: Since my last review, Wei Wei has expanded with a second location called Wei Wei Cafe & Noodle House, oddly close to this original spot (not even a mile away) on Market Street, serving a similar menu. They've also expanded the restaurant, taking over the space next door which more than doubled the dining room's size. But, the a/c is always broken or can't keep up, so it's pretty toasty inside. The majority of orders are takeout so I guess there's no need to rectify the problem? FOOD: Black Bean Sauce Chicken - $12.96 I have found my new go-to dish! It was everything I had imagined; chunks of chicken stir fried with veggies (onions, green bell peppers, canned bamboo shoots, white onions, and zucchini) in a savory black bean sauce. While the flavors could be just a bit bolder, it's a really good dish that hit the spot, even for my picky spouse. Ginger Chicken - $12.96 The portion size is generous and the chicken fresh, with the perfect amount of salt, topped with a tasty concoction of minced ginger and green onions. Highly recommended. Chicken Chow Mein - $11.95 This is a favorite of my mom's. Flat noodles (like fettuccine) topped with a stir fry gravy mixture of broccoli, mushrooms, zucchini, carrots, cabbage, and white onions. Subtle flavors but still very good. Portion size is very generous. Kung Pao Chicken - $12.96 Oh man, I now have two go-to dishes here! Bold flavors and a bit of heat made this dish a home run for me. Fresh zucchini, crunchy onions and whole peanuts added check marks in the positive column. My only gripe is that it was a bit oily. SERVICE: They actually steer opposite of the stereotypical but quite true style of Chinese places. Friendly and patient is what I observe. Try finding that elsewhere! A hiccup occurred as I phoned in my order though. It took a while for them to answer. Once they did, the lady said she'd be right back, put the phone down (not on hold) and forgot about me as I could hear her talking story to someone. I called back, she apologized and took my order. OVERALL: They may not be the quintessential example of what a Chinese restaurant should be, but hey, it's better than nothing and most of their dishes are pretty legit. A jump in star rating is deserved.

Also hand made jewelry locally made items found no where else in the world. Unique artifacts of various cultures as well as local. Many historical pictures and emblems.

Miyako Sushi is definitely your best bet if you are looking for the infamous Hawaii "maki" style of sushi roll (vinegar rice, red and/or green food-colored tuna, and carrots wrapped in nori,) or the cone sushi (vinegar rice, and carrots wrapped in abruage, which is fried tofu, instead of nori.) Why is it your best bet? It's pretty much your only choice if you need a good amount of it, say for a party, as many places do sell this but probably not in the quantity required. ATMOSPHERE: The tiny take-out only shop is located in the Millyard industrial area of Wailuku. The shop is jam-packed with odds and ends as well as some baked goods. FOOD: We ordered 8 rolls of maki and 12 cone sushi. A bit pricey but the quality and taste are top notch. Inari Spam Musubi This version of the infamous Hawaii staple uses sushi rice instead of plain white rice, which is vinegary, a tad sweet, and has finely chopped carrots mixed in. Being a raw carrot hater, even I couldn't detect them. The strong flavor of the rice definitely overpowers the flavor of the Spam. Some may like it, but I'd never eat it again. Plain rice all the way! To be fair, the Spam was fried nice and crispy, and the nori wasn't soggy due to the musubi being wrapped in wax paper as opposed to plastic wrap. TIP: Cash and personal check only. OVERALL: 3.5 stars. I would've given them 4 but we had to run to the bank to grab cash since they don't accept debit/credit cards.

We love their home made sushi, bento platters, and of course their amazingly delusional hotdogs with their special sauce. They're all awesome.

Great service! Fastest sushi I’ve ever had made for me. However the miso Butterfish is best I’ve ever had! And it is hard to find

Great grab n go sushi spot. Local favorites tend to go quick. Lunch time is crowded as usual at any spot, so get there a little early forward quick pit stop.

Best traditional sushi. Side area full of antiques and collectibles.

Itʻs the only place to get your cone and maki sushi, made fresh daily! They also make spam musubi with sushi and regular white rice. Their antique shop is also a great find with tons of memorabilia.

JB's Kitchen and Lounge is renowned for its exceptional fried chicken, which has been described as one of the finest ever tasted. The crispy skin maintains its crunchiness even after a day. However, their menu extends far beyond just this dish, with all offerings being equally impressive. It is highly recommended to support local establishments like JB's Kitchen and Lounge, considering the outstanding quality of their food. Visitors have expressed their love and longing for the restaurant, frequently dining there multiple times during their visit.
Loved this place. Uncle Guy took our order and was very welcoming and explained how all the food is made with great care by the owner who is from Korea! The food was amazing and you can tell the owners take pride in their craft. I want to try the fried chicken next time I come back!
Adam K — Google review
The flavor is definitely there. We’ve had the fried chicken, oyako donburi and pork tofu, The bean sprouts and bamboo shoots seemed over cooked and were not really edible. Everything else about the food was really good though and their portions are pretty generous. Owner guy is very nice.

Korean Fried Chicken!!!! The chef is from Korea so it’s done right. So good, and the owner is very hospitable & kind. I will be back to try the bibimbap 😋🤩🤩🤩
Stacey C — Google review
What really impressed me was how nice the lady running the front is. She says she's the daughter in law and so I assume Mom in law runs the kitchen. If your jam is good, local neighborhood eats with wallet friendly prices and big portions, then JB is 5 stars. They have vegetarian friendly items like veggie fritter, fried tofu (it's a banchan but you can ask for more) and veggie fried rice. The food comes out hot and delicious - just how I like it! Look for the blue building sign that says JB's kitchen when driving up lower main, right next door to Patao's. The parking lot is in the front and the restaurant is in the back.

Good soups and crunchy fried chicken. Friendly staff. Now open for dine-in.

The server was so friendly and wonderful. My wife and I felt taken care of, like we were in someone's home. The kimchi fritter/pancake was the best we had on island. All the banchan were delicious. My dish, the JB,S Special was perfectly cooked and has became my new craving.

Hidden Gem, Hole in the wall, mom and pop shop. This place is so underrated for the food they put out. Very casual and family friendly ambience. We were a party of 9 plus 1 toddler and everything I tried was full of flavor. Everything is made fresh to order, even the kimchi takes 2 days for them to make. Our server, uncle was diligent and the cook knows what she’s doing in the back. However, I did notice that this place was more popular for take out as compared to dining in. Overall, I highly recommend as it’s super affordable for the value.
Malulani P — Google review
Excellent service, delicious Korean food. Best kimchi ever! Ariel, friendly and knowledgeable waitress. I had kimchi saimen soup, hubby had kimchi soup, a couple of appetizer plates with kimchi, potato type dish and seaweed with onions. We also got kimchi fried rice for breakfast tomorrow and a couple of large containers to go filled with kimchi. Will definitely visit more than once our next trip. Very thankful we are only a thirty minute flight away.

Poke Hale Grindz is a local Hawaiian food convenience store that has some of the best poke in town. They also have options for rice and the original style poke. They're great for Loco moco too!

A poke shop inside a convenience store! Every tastes good and is fresh. The ordering process can be slightly confusing... There's already set poke combos but you can create customized ones using the sheets in front of the ordering window. Very friendly staff that's used to the constant stream of tourists.

Convenience store with great poke and poke options! You can add toppings, rice or get the original style. A great stop for Loco moco too! With all the restaurants and such, it would be easy to dismiss this place. But if you're not wanting fancy sit down style and just want good food you can take to the beach or back to your place or to the picnic table out back, stop here!!

Nestled in the charming Puuone Plaza of Wailuku, M Sushi is a delightful neighborhood sushi bar that invites you to indulge in a casual yet satisfying dining experience. With an extensive menu featuring not only classic sushi favorites like California Rolls and Spicy Salmon Rolls but also unique creations such as the Marilyn Mon Roll, there's something for every palate. The open sushi bar allows diners to witness the artistry of the chef as they skillfully prepare each dish using only the freshest ingredients.
Maui has a new gem in my list of favorite spots. Tucked away within a parking garage, this unassuming eatery delivers impeccable food and exceptional service. As I dined at the bar, I conversed with the chef who happens to be the owner, and discovered that he runs this delightful establishment alongside his mother. Their warmth and hospitality are evident, as they serve incredible meals and genuinely care for their patrons. The fish was undeniably fresh, and the chef's daily special recommendations were absolutely on point. Do note that this is a BYOB establishment, so if you'd like to enjoy a drink with your meal, be sure to bring your own.

If I could give M Sushi more than 5 stars, I would. This was hands down some of the best sushi I’ve ever had — fresh, artfully prepared, and absolutely unforgettable. From buttery slices of toro to perfectly seasoned uni, every bite was a masterclass in balance and flavor. The quality is unmatched, the presentation stunning, and the service attentive without being intrusive. You can taste the passion and precision behind every piece. M Sushi is a true gem — if you’re serious about sushi, this place is a must.

M Sushi is one of our favorite places to eat when craving sushi. Always fresh and made when ordered. This Mom and Son team get the food out quickly, whether dining in or takeout. We have ordered very large takeout orders in the past and they are always packaged well to make the trip home. Some of out favorites include the Sashimi (all types), Marilyn Monroll, Superman Burrito, 911 Roll and the Oystet Shooters. I also love love the Uni (wana or sea urchin) and the Kampachi or Carpaccio is always delicious. Looking to have some Wagyu beef? Try it with Uni on top. Rainbow Toll, Tuna Roll and Seared Ahi Garlic Roll are also good. Good service always and my family always enjoys our food here.
Honey K — Google review
Amazing sushi, forgot to take a pic of the 3 sashimi plate which was also excellent. Definitely recommend for a nice date night.
Mark G — Google review
We had the sushi omakase and wagyu sushi (highly recommend doing both). We loved everything. You can clearly taste the difference between all the fish. The portion size was perfect - didn’t need to order anything else to fill up on. The place smelled great as we were waiting so we knew we were in for a treat :) We may go back to try some of their rolls as they sound interesting like the seared tuna garlic or baked salmon roll.
Chui T — Google review
Best yellowtail (Hamachi) I've ever had! Not sure if other sushi places on Maui are just as expensive but I'd say it's worth the price. For an New Englander, these crab rolls are incredible! A must try. The unagi (eel) didn't wow me, but was still enjoyable. A bit of an empty atmosphere, but sitting at the sushi bar is just at any other good place:order directly to the chef. Notice! You have to bring your own drinks. They provide water but really just soda and soft drinks otherwise. These options we're a bit expensive too, even for the islands.
Max H — Google review
WOW this sushi… Some of the best I’ve ever had in my life. Totally unassuming spot in a parking garage that had us hesitating at first but I’m so glad we went. The staff was greeting people by name, this is clearly a spot that caters to locals. The cucumber special roll, rainbow roll, and uni were all out of this world. Thank you!!!

Came here at the end of our Maui trip. Best sushi omakase I have ever had. This was hands down the best meal I had in Maui. The fish was fresh and prepared well. Service was good and friendly. You can tell it's a family run restaurant. The miso butter fish was delicious and the wagyu/uni sushi melts in your mouth. I had to sit here to digest and appreciate it after dinner. McDonald's is a well-established fast-food chain famous for its burgers and fries. The staff is known for providing great service to a diverse set of customers, including locals, tourists, and court visitors. Despite the high traffic, the drive-thru workers are always friendly and efficient. However, the dining area can be messy at times due to the constant flow of customers. Overall, McDonald's offers quick service with a smile no matter what time of day you visit.
Staff here were really nice locals.

Well I will have to say I highly disappointed... they have a customer only restroom which is fine, but a world with no trust in humanity and a person's word that says they will purchase after I use the restroom seeing that it was an urgent need crazy. Therefore, I gave them $100 to allow at least the next 30 ppl that need to use to restroom to allow them to use it first. We have to make a better society and trust in people is where it starts.

7/2/25 @ 9:45pm Just went to Mac Donald’s on Eha street. I asked the cashier make sure the fry’s are fresh. He gives me the bag rolled up. I opened the bag the fries was soggy and warm. I told the cashier this is not fresh fries. He takes it back and then the manager Jarred whisper something to the cashier and laughs. Cashier then hands me the bag here you go I checked it again all he did was drop it back in the deep fryer and gave it back to me.. I told the manager this is not fresh. He lied straight in my face. Till i told him I use to be a cook and I know that is not fresh fries. Bad service when a manager lies. He should be dismissed from his job.

I don’t understand why the coffee can’t be made the same each time. They raise the price of the iced coffee and last two time I got was junk. I order flavored coffee and they forget to put it. Just tastes like watered down water and cream. Won’t get the coffee here again for long time unless coupon cuz waste of money junk.

Great service and quick. The staff does a great job of handling a very diverse set of customers (locals, tourists, court people) and they are very kind and helpful with everyone, regardless of appearances. The bathroom (only one toilet) is often messy and the dining room is pretty bad sometimes, but that is to be expected in a high-traffic restaurant such as this one.

I came at nearly closing time. Everything looked like they were set up for tomorrow. I felt a bit like I was imposing. Wrong! The two behind the counter encouraged me to order and even made me feel comfortable enough to dine in. That's a rare customer service attitude anymore
Kendall L — Google review
went in about 3pm, no one was in the shop except two young ladies making sandwiches. No welcome, No eye contact, stood there for a couple minutes before i was asked what i wanted. Once they were done making my order, was not asked if i wanted a soda or chips with it. Decided to just go with it and forego the added extras. Very disappointed with the lousy service. Been to many subways but this was by far the worst experience. I realize they were busy making orders but no excuse for ignoring the walk in customers. Will not be back to that location.
Debbie M — Google review
The customer service at this location is extremely disappointing. The staff, particularly the girls working there, seem completely uninterested in their jobs. They don’t acknowledge customers upon arrival and will often ignore you while they walk around or chat with each other. It’s frustrating to just stand there waiting to be helped until they finally decide to take your order. The lack of professionalism and basic courtesy is unacceptable — serious improvements in training or staffing are needed.
Brandon — Google review
The young girl who works the night shift sucks. Doesn’t say hello or “be right with you” or smile, she has either airpods or headphones on, can’t tell if she’s listening to me or her music and it feels awkward to talk to someone who wears those things while taking my order. Will talk smack when you’re standing right there. Her attitude is shocking and management should definitely look into that. Service is very slow also. How embarrassing.
Maui — Google review
I'll pop into this Subway every now and then. Parking can be an issue as it's limited to a small lot and street parking. Service is alright and I don't expect much.

I ordered virtually on their website. I ordered a FootLong White Bread Tuna Sandwich, I added pickles, pepper Jack cheese, tomatoes, spinach, onions, mustard and pepper. I also ordered 3 cookies. When I went to go pick it up, I got home and opened up my sandwich. I realized that it was completely off! I received a FootLong White Bread Tuna with American White Cheese, Lettuce, and Pepper. That’s it! I paid over $15 for a sandwich to realize that I could of went behind the counter and did it by myself; for half of the price. I opened up my sandwich and there was multiple hairs! I forgot to mention that the workers seem like they are in hell! So rude and unprofessional. By the way, my cookies were burnt, not even edible. I tipped 10% and I do not wanna know how my food would look if I did a zero tip! Never ordering from them again!

Always did love this subway... we went here with a huge order so we phoned it in... they took our order n they called me back because they ran out of cheddar cheese so she asked me if I'd like any other type of cheese and apologized for the inconvenience... I didn't mind that they ran out of cheese what blew me away is the courtesy of the phone call... they didn't have to call they could have put whatever they wanted but didn't and I appreciated that!!! Long story short... we went there to pick up our huge order and EVERYTHING WAS CORRECT!!! AWESOME SERVICE!!!

Arriving on my final day in Maui, I made a spontaneous visit to Wei Wei Cafe & Noodle House for dinner. To my surprise, it ranked among the top five dining establishments I have ever tried, despite having been to numerous others. Opting for the Loco Moco and house Chow Mein, both dishes proved to be flavorful and satisfying. The Chow Mein pleasantly deviated from my expectations with its use of unique noodles, resulting in a delicious experience.
Came here on my last day in Maui. Last minute stop for dinner. Surprisingly this was one of the top five best places I've tried out of so many I've been to. Got the to the Loco Moco and house Chow Mein. They we both were good. Flavorful. The chow mein was not the what I expected like back in Canada. They used different noodles. It was delicious. Good price too. With tip $30 all in. Clean washrooms.

Watercress Sports Bar and Grill is a family-friendly spot where even unruly toddlers are welcomed with open arms. The atmosphere is laid-back and welcoming, making it easy to enjoy a meal without worrying about your little one's behavior. Additionally, the karaoke bar boasts an impressive library of songs, perfect for those who love belting out oldies and Hawaiian tunes. The friendly locals and accommodating bartender add to the inviting vibe of this local gem.
My husband wanted to watch football before heading off island and we found this place online. We have a very unruly 2 year old toddler but we where welcomed as any other customer. "Kid friendly" is hard to find nowadays and they even went beyond when they offered my daughter a sweet snack they didn't have to. The atmosphere was mellow and so very friendly I was positively surprised. I was able to enjoy my food and not worrying if we was going to get kicked out cause I couldn't get my daughter to sit still at the table. THE FOOD is the best food I've been getting served in a very long time. I wish I could've tried more from their menu. So happy we got to experience this and I will definitely recommend this establishment to anyone I know. Really you will not regret it.
