Chocolate cafe
Chocolate shop
Mamuschka, located on Calle Mitre 298, is a must-visit chocolate shop in Bariloche. This local favorite offers an extensive selection of chocolates and candies that are sure to satisfy any sweet tooth. The brand's history dates back to 1988 when they introduced their signature laminated chocolate with dulce de leche. Known for using carefully selected cocoa beans from their places of origin, Mamuschka has become a prominent figure in the town's chocolate scene.
Excellent chocolate, excellent desserts, and, surprisingly, excellent espresso. Considering it’s a tourist spot, the prices are decent compared to other high-end chocolate shops on Mitre. The service is fast and the employees are friendly. However, do be warned that this establishment gets rather crowded.

Popular chocolate spot. Delicious and great options. Loved it all. I bought the smallest box with six different treats. They were all great.
Hussein A — Google review
One of the most impressive chocolate stores in Bariloche. Many options, it goes by the weight and the service is very friendly. It is very expensive but it is worth it. Treat yourself and try the chocolate en Rama, delicious.
Trachemysta — Google review
I tried Dulce de leche, Mil avellana, Multifruta and all of them were amazing. Give it a shot if you pass by.
Google review
Service was friendly, pastries delicious. I thought the coffee was average. I would return. Highly recommend the rose lemon pastry tart.
Faye B — Google review
Huge and famous traditional chocolate shop in Bariloche 🍫 Definitely a place you have to at least visit if you are in town. Gets a little bit busy but the service was great. Most of the Chocolate prices cost around $9000 1/4 kg and $17500 1/2 kg The quality is really good but end up being a little bit expensive if you want to try different chocolate products.
PC — Google review
Beautiful store “chocolate lover’s heaven”! If you pay in US dollars be prepared to bring us$50 or $100 bills as us&50 is the minimum purchase otherwise credit card is accepted with purchase minimum.
EH — Google review
Everything here is delicious! 😋🤤 You go in dine in or grab a ticket for a personal box. Line was long I wanted chocolates and I went to the shorter line for the pre made box of chocolates, the box didn't even last 2 days and I'm not a crazy sweets person. Every chocolate has a perfect balance not bitter not too sweet just has you craving more!

Rapanui is a popular chocolate store and ice cream parlor in Bariloche, with an elegant art-deco inspired design. The sprawling premises offer a variety of chocolate products, from animals to gift packages, and also feature a cafe serving tasty treats and quick bites. One of the highlights is the indoor ice-skating rink. Rapanui's high-quality products have made it a favorite among locals and tourists alike.
The ice cream here was divine. Highly recommend the dark chocolate and pistachio flavours! Good ambience; nice place to hang out for a while with clean bathrooms.
Adelle E — Google review
Very large establishment with a chocolate shop, ice cream shop, cafe and ice skating rink all in one place. We tried their ice cream and it was delicious. They had 8 flavors of just chocolate 😍 with great other options as well.
Dwan T — Google review
The best Ice Cream I have ever eaten in my life. Chocolate Con Guindas was amazing. This flavor is specific to the store in Bariloche. Not available in Buenos Aires. Rapanui should be a must visit for anyone visiting Argentina or Bariloche in particular. It is a cultural icon. Hope the brand comes Staseide, sometime soon. It's better than Amorino.
Varun N — Google review
The place was a bit chaotic and really crowded, but they offer many different sweets: chocolate, ice cream, alfajores, franui. A worker that served us ice cream was very helpful and friendly. Everything was delicious! There’s an ice rink inside.
Ann A — Google review
Wide selection of chocolates and ice cream to try. Ideal spot for presents and to relax with friends. NB to buy an ice cream, you need to pay at one of the counters and then grab a ticket and wait for your number to be called.

Restaurant
Nestled in the heart of San Carlos de Bariloche, Familia Weiss is a beloved dining destination that captures the essence of regional flavors. This rustic eatery boasts an extensive menu featuring a delightful mix of German and Patagonian specialties, including succulent lamb and fresh trout. Guests rave about the warm hospitality provided by the attentive staff, making every visit feel special.
Great tradicional place from Bariloche! They have an amazing variety of local dishes (the trout is more affordable than other places on Mitre) and the staff is super friendly! On the back they have the smoked meats and cheeses shop.
Melina T — Google review
It was suggested to us that this was the place to eat in Bariloche by our hotel concierge. Unfortunately, it fell flat on its face. We walked in shortly after its opening. The restaurant had a few tables full and we were asked to seat ourselves where we wanted. About 5 min after we sat ourselves, another couple was seated next to us. Immediately the waiter came and took their drink and food order. We Sat there looking stupid. I looked over to the older lady that told us to seat ourselves with the ‘WTH’ look. A couple minutes later our waiter came and took our order. Our Spanish is less than perfect, but it was quite obvious while he was taking our order he was not extending any effort to help explain things. Shortly after that, the older lady came over to our table and asked me to put my purse in my lap. It was hanging off my chair. I looked around and sure enough, other women were holding their purses in their lap while cutting steak. SMH. We ordered 2 empanadas, a salad to split and the pork roast and lamb. The food that was served was good, not the best I have ever had, but not the worst. . Unfortunately, my salad arrived literally after my last bite of food and by now i was pretty annoyed so I told him I didn’t want it. He understood that. The ladies that sat down on the other side of us were not asked to put their purses in their lap while they ate. Don’t know why I was. But I felt so uncomfortable at this restaurant. I would not recommend it to anyone despite it being decent food.

Food was Fine, nothing special. Atmosphere is great, waiters are friendly. Food is delivered quickly and portions are also good. They have vegetarian options too.
Teresa S — Google review
A satisfactory lunch in central Bariloche. It’s a totally chance encounter while we wandering around the center of town. The building is an imposing structure, built like large chalet 😎😎😎, reminiscent of what might one encounter in the Austrian or Swiss countryside. Indeed, the huge interior looks very much like a log cabin. Very well lit dining room! The Menu is a tad large, but navigable. An attraction are the salads and fish entrees, lovely respite from the very carnivorous foods of Patagonia. 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗 The Ensalada Weiss and Ensalada Bosque are BOTH OUTSTANDING salads. Fresh cut greens, sprinkling of nuts and berries, mushrooms (in the Bosque), slivers of lovely Swiss cheese, and venison (in the Weiss). THEN there’s the TRUCHA CON CHAMPIÑONES: lovely perfectly pan seared large filet of trout, very flavorful by itself and seared crispy skin 😊. BUT THEN IT IS DROWNED IN MUSHROOM SAUCE 🫤🫤🫤, the otherwise crispy skin is swimming in it. *** Okay the sauce is very good, BUT THERE’S TOO MUCH OF IT…. The trout is the king!!! NOT the sauce. *** The TROUT SHOULD BE SERVED CRISPY SKIN UP, the sauce added around it!!! *** the Gnocchi with Cheese sauce also DOES NOT ADD ANYTHING TO THE DISH. In fact, it make the dish heavy🫤🫤🫤🫤🫤… why not just a simple baked potatoes??? OR sautéed vegetables??? 👍 The Tart Frambuesa is good, though a tad sweet. Service is very good.
A ( — Google review
I was excited to try this place but didn’t like the food that much. It’s very nice resturant with awesome decorations and lovely staff that are dressed up. The charcuterie board was good but nothing special ( I felt I was missing trout in there). The trout didn’t taste fresh.
Hussein A — Google review
Really interesting restaurant. It was like Argentinean-Hungarian. And maybe German too. I ordered the hunters Lamb (Cordero a la Calzadora) a typical plate in Argentina. It came with some noodles covered in a cream sauce and several pieces of lamb meat on the bone. The plate was covered in sauce but it was delicious. I also orders a glass of red wine. They only sell bottles and 1 type of red and white. The brand was San Juan and it was a tempranillo wine. It was motly light, but still had some heavy body to it that made it a but more than a casual sipping wine. It took my attention every sip ,but was good - on the dryer side as well. The best best part of the place for sure was the service and the ambiance. My server was perfe t and professional and not too pushy but attentive when needed. Also the place is dimly lit, but not so dark that you can't see the menu. There is a sort of tree house feel to it and it's warm, an escape from the cold of the outside. ***end novel*** Def stop by here for food if in town.
Leonard — Google review
So this is a place you come to for traditional Argentine cuisine. You'll find smoked fish, trout, vencen and traditional deserts. However, if you are particular about service, this is not the place to go. Lots of fish options as well as meat, but the service is not strong. 1= good 5= awful Noise: 2 Parking: 5 Food quality: 4 Timing: 2 Cost: 3

Service is good, but the chocolates are not in pair with their peers in bariloche. It is just too sweet.

This shop has been renewed recently and now is a good place for breakfast or just a quick coffee. Cakes are abundant and tasty, and there are very convenient combos (e.g. cake + coffee) for what would be around 5usd. I stills wouldn't recommend their chocolates, there are better alternatives less than a block away, but if it comes to coffee or pastries, you can definitely visit this place. Service was relatively fast and the waiters were kind and patient.

Additionally, it boasts an extensive selection of high-quality pastries and artisanal ice creams. The café has deep roots in Colonia Suiza, with Aunt Frida being the driving force behind the chocolaty recipes in the Goye family.
Mamushka and rapa nui were too packed so I found this little gem. Great ice cream, cakes, and hot chocolate, and a bit more chill.

Very, very bad place for breakfast :( They put some pictures that don’t match the food they actually serve. I tried the green waffle and it was terrible, like it pre made, also looks very bad. Also the gluten free alfajor- they told us that is with white chocolate and it wasn’t- it was very bad as well. Also they coffee was bad. Eventually we left the food like it is and left to eat another breakfast because we couldn’t touch it. :/ I paid for nothing

In Bariloche, a town known for its chocolate, Benroth stands out as a small family-owned company with over 50 years of experience. Founded by Bernardo Benroth in 1965, the company has deep roots in the local chocolate-making tradition. Influenced by French and Swiss chefs visiting the city and mentored by Aldo Fenoglio, an Italian pioneer in artisanal chocolate making, Benroth offers a range of delectable treats.
It looks like a house from outside but inside is a hidden gem. There is a little chocolate factory next to the shop. The chocolates have such a rich texture that it melts in your mouth suddenly and the quality cacao taste lasts long. The best chocolates I have tasted in Bariloche are in this shop.
Canan A — Google review
The almost secret place in Bariloche. Hidden away from all the touristic shops in the centre. And they have siestas. But if you walk up the hills and ring the bell to get inside, you will see many of the similar chocolates as you do down in the main street - the real difference is the taste. This is the best chocolate brand of Bariloche. We have been shopping there a few times and just love their products. Highly recommended. Try their chocolate with whisky or the one with cereal or the one with nuts or.... Try them all.
Jens O — Google review

I have tried all the big chocolate shops in Bariloche and nothing compares to Benroth. The depth of the flavors, texture and mouth feel of Benroth is much better. They also have some Stevia based chocolates that are excellent. Ilike supporting small businesses that are artisans. I suggest you walk up the hill from all the tourist traps and give Benroth your business.

(Translated by Google) It looks like a bookstore straight out of a movie, unlike the more well-known chains (and in my opinion, much better). If you love reading, it's a must-see. I recommend checking out the used book section, which is at the back of the store; they have a wide variety of genres, some older and some newer, and even some in English. It's the perfect place to lose yourself among books for a while. (Translated by Google) The people who work here are very attentive. Both the owner and both employees provide excellent service. If they don't have a book, they try to get it for you. They have a great selection of new and used books. This is nothing like the descriptions given by the Irrazabal trio, who think they're the queens of the place. Instead of showing empathy, they went straight to giving it a one-star review (what's wrong with you, ma'am?), trying to be sarcastic with "looks like they had a bad day," which they clearly didn't care about, and describing a situation that doesn't reflect the employee's character at all. I sometimes go twice a week, and I've never seen or heard them treat anyone badly. They always provide excellent service, everyone. I would go by the other positive reviews, not by those show-offs.

Havanna Cafeteria Bariloche is a charming spot with limited parking and friendly service. Visitors recommend purchasing a museum ticket first, as it includes a voucher for the store below. Wow, two disastrous experiences. I almost never leave reviews, but this warranted one. To begin, this is for the Havanna cafe downtown, which I can't find a google maps listing for (I have an idea why). First time entering was bizarre. Four employees were standing on the stairwell, talking with each other loudly. Upon entering, they looked over, then went back to the conversation. I approached them, asking where I should order, and they motioned to the seating area, then back to conversation. Ok, odd, but not a big deal. The employees then remained in conversation for ten more minutes before one returned to quickly take the order. No hello, no smile, then back to the conversation. I was already regretting choosing this cafe over one of the many others within distance, but so be it. My decaf black coffee was fine, while the cappuccino for some unknown reason was incredibly sweet, and my partner couldn't finish it. Medialuna was great. Getting service for payment was another ordeal. I left feeling that the only person I felt worse for than myself in subjecting myself to paying for this was the owner - subsidizing employees' gossiping session, with work being a distant second priority. The nail in the coffin was returning a subsequent day (not by my choice). Ordered a black decaf coffee, it came out the color of weak breakfast tea. The waitress (admittedly more attentive than the first time) tried first saying this is what decaf coffee looks like - uhh, no - then returned with another one which was a slightly darker hue of brown, and finally said "if the 'decaf' you ordered the other day was darker than this, they must have just given you regular coffee - the barista said this is as dark as the decaf gets". Speechless.

Came here with my girlfriend. First of all was even difficult to get what we wanted. We tried getting one of the greatest alfajores from Havanna (Mar del Plata), which they replied they didnt have in stock, which actually seeing this is an official place in Bariloche, chocolate capital… leaved me without words. Asked them for a simple tostado, and again, they didnt have it on stock. Ended up eating whatever they wanted to bring us. The waitress came multiple times to the table to ask us for the order, she didnt know any of the cart prices… Oh, was forgetting, table wasnt cleaned at all, full of breadcrumbs, which she said she was going to clean it, but never did it… Could continue but was sadly, a mediocre experience. Coffee taste was ok

Instead of the museum, just come to the cafe to get a brief view of how the alfajores are made; then get an alfajores - they are great!!

(Translated by Google) My mom and I came to this place for the first time. The food and coffee were delicious, but the service and attention were terrible. From the moment we arrived, they didn't give us much attention. We waited a long time to be served, and when they finally did and brought us our food, they made several mistakes. First, they brought my latte in a different glass and size than I had ordered, and they had completely forgotten to make my berry waffle. So, when I finished my coffee, they only brought me the waffle, which was obviously rushed and poorly made. I also had to ask for utensils twice before they brought them. It's worth noting that there were very few people in the place, and it wasn't rush hour or anything like that. Very disappointed, especially since this place is located in a super-touristy city. I hope this review is taken into account. Thank you very much. Muchas gracias.

Galería del Sol is a charming multi-level shopping center located in the heart of San Carlos de Bariloche. While it doesn't feature well-known brands, it offers a variety of interesting stores to explore, including clothing boutiques, accessories shops, handicrafts stores, toy shops, lingerie outlets, and jewelry stores. Additionally, there's a cozy café on the ground floor where visitors can relax.

Beautiful structure, but not much going on. Maybe because it was a Sunday before 1 pm?
David R — Google review
While we are not fans of shopping malls, we visited to see what the fuss is about. It’s an interesting design for a mall. The exterior looks like an entrance to a church, with a central nave and two aisles, all three are arched like a gothic chapel. Indeed, as one enters, the interior is high arched design made entirely of wood. The ceiling is totally a skylight. There are 2 levels of shops. The lower level looks like a food court, the floor is made of artificial turf, an odd choice that cheapens the aesthetics of the place. As to shops, several are overpriced souvenir shops that are obviously targets tourists. There seems to NO public restrooms… for a shopping mall, this is a very very very bad error!
A ( — Google review
Beautiful little shopping mall "for tourists" in the center of town. The interior, with tall wooden arches, is warm and beautiful to see, but it also conveys the sense of a "cathedral of shopping where to worship the Mammon god".... All stores are relatively high-end and they are mostly of souvenirs and clothing. It is not a place where locals usually go to shop. There is also a cafe-restaurant inside, very quiet and peaceful. Worth a quick stop to walk inside if you are already walking down main street in San Carlos De Bariloche.

The wood used for all the structure is what makes this place unique. With a a Swiss style and a patagonian flavour , your senses rejoice. Expensive and small but unique.

(Translated by Google) I bought a cup and they wrapped it in a nice paper and bag that ended up completing a present we brought. Without a doubt I returned to finish buying all the souvenirs there, since they were individually wrapped and with very nice gift paper.
