Amusement park
Water & Amusement Parks
Theme Parks
Fuji-Q Highland is an amusement park located near the base of Mount Fuji in Fujiyoshida, Yamanashi. It's a popular destination for thrill-seekers with its impressive collection of rides, including Takabisha, the world's steepest roller coaster, and other famous coasters like Eejanaika, Do-Dodonpa, and Fujiyama. The park also offers two haunted attractions - Hopeless Fortress and the Haunted Hospital.
Must-visit place for Naruto and rollercoaster fans. It was my first time in the rollercoaster and it was terrifying, but still fun 🤣 Naruto fans will have more than enough content to have fun with. Food is good, but a bit expensive considering the amount of it (still normal as it's amusement park) There are FREE tickets for just walking in, one-enter tickets and one-day tickets. The paid ones allow you to enter all attractions for free, but you still have to wait in the queues if you don't have priority pass for specific attraction.
Sebastian T — Google review
This is my 2nd visit to Fuji-Q Highland, and I was worried about how the day would pan out as my last visit was atrocious! However, let me say that today was a very pleasant surprise! I paid for the priority entrance, which gets you into the park 30 minutes early (which is massively worth it). Head for the big coasters first - Zokkon and Fujiyama, as they get the biggest queues! They have a lot of great attractions, but make sure you read the opening times of all attractions as some things do close at 1.30pm and some open later in the day. They do have a detailed maintenance schedule on their website, but the opening and closing times did catch me out on my last visit. Also, attractions will close early depending on the queue times (for which they make announcements around the park), so make sure to plan everything you want to ride in time. There are vending machines next to each ride to buy fast passes, which is handy at busy times! The food stalls in the middle of the park are great, I had the Indian food which was lush. They are well-priced, too. There are lots of vending machines all around the park. There are at least 5/6 gift shops with lots of cool merchandise. There is also a 7-Eleven outside the park! Great for fussy eaters or cheap snacks! When visiting, make sure to plan ahead and get there early for a head start as when it's busy, it can be very unorganised and stressful.
Charlotte B — Google review
We went on a Monday in late October, and it wasn’t too packed. At most we waited an hour for one of the big roller coasters. If you are looking for a park with some of the best roller coasters ever then this is it! We loved Takabisha so much, it was scary and exhilarating all at the same time! Eejanaika is going to mess with your mind, all its twists and turns. But there are other great rides too, a special mention needs to be made for Tondemina (La pizza) ride that was fantastic. This park is filled with thrills. We had the Fuji pizza which was great. As a tip, the all day pass lets you re-enter, we went back to our hotel then returned at night, well worth it. I’ve read reviews that say the safety checks take a while and they do but honestly I was glad for it. Was it worth the money? Absolutely! I’d love to go again on a clear day when I can see Mt. Fuji.
Kyle W — Google review
Amazing rides - better than any other amusement park i've been to. They lack the intricate themes other amusement parks have (e.g., Disneyland) - more bare bones adrenaline rush. And they are very good at this - rides are so fast and frenzied that it's actually important to listen to the instructions and maintain the posture they tell you to have. They require emtying all pockets before boarding rides, and also remove glasses (they didn't even allow using goggles). They have free lockers at each ride. There are some vegan options in the food court (vegan ramen and curry). Amusement park food, not bad but not good either. there is also a Starbucks with some vegan snacks and vegan lattes. When we were there the lines were very short, so we would probably could have done without the priority tickets we bought. But I read and heard that in most times the lines are very long, and priority passes are recommended. We bought everything in the fuji Q website - if the site crashes, try turning off the google translation - it worked for us.
עמוס ר — Google review
Visited Fuji-Q Highland in May 2024 and it was amazing! The roller coasters like Eejanaika and Fujiyama were absolutely thrilling. The park was clean, staff super friendly, and the view of Mount Fuji made it unforgettable. Lines can be long, so go early or get a fast pass. A perfect mix of excitement and scenery — totally worth it!
A A — Google review
We went on a Autumn Thursday so there weren't that much lines! We were able ride all the rides that were open that day. They closed some down pretty early like the pizzala and the paniclock. I think Dodonpa closed down. However, the must-try rides for speed and thrill that are usually open are Fujiyama, Takabisha (the vertical drop was amazing), Eejanaika(fast and fun), and Zokkon. The Naruto village was a great place for me since Im a Naruto fan!
Ian F — Google review
Awesome theme park, Free entry pay per ride. 2000 yen for most expensive rides, Short wait time for rides wasn’t busy atoll rain or shine. The rollercoasters seem to stop in the rain though so keep that in mind. Food in park great and has a Starbucks. Highly recommended
Al G — Google review
This is also one of my favorite places. You can visit it all year round because the atmosphere changes with each season, which I really like. Even though I’m not a big fan of amusement parks, this one is okay. There are cafés, food trucks, and gift shops inside. However, the food and drinks are a bit expensive, so make sure you’re okay with that — you can also bring your own drinks. If it rains, most of the rides will be closed, but there are still other things to enjoy, like the haunted house, which I especially recommend.

Mount Fuji, the iconic snow-capped peak and volcano, is the highest in Japan and the 7th highest island peak on earth. Yamanashi Prefecture, home to Mount Fuji, offers a serene escape from Tokyo's hustle and bustle. Visitors can explore the picturesque Fuji Five Lakes, Kiyosato highland resort, historical temples like Erinji and Kuonji, rejuvenating hot springs, and renowned wineries.
Definitely recommend hiking fuji. The sunrise is amazing and though a challenge it’s worth the rewards. And you get to stand on top of Japan at 3776m Quite crowded during August and not too easy to book the mountain huts but you can always join a tour
Kevin K — Google review
A Journey Above the Clouds Climbing Mount Fuji (3,776m) is more than a hike — it’s a test of will and wonder. From the 5th Station, the trail starts easy with cool air and ramen stops, but soon turns into a battle of endurance as the air thins and the slopes steepen. The night climb was magical — stars overhead, headlamps snaking up the mountain. Reaching the summit at 4:30 a.m. to witness Goraikō, Japan’s sacred sunrise, was pure awe. The descent? Slippery and tough, but the sense of achievement made every step worth it. 🌅Unforgettable. Humbling. Beautiful. My trip is started end of August , start at night for sunrise, layer up, and pace yourself.

Breathtaking and unforgettable experience! Seeing Mt. Fuji in person is truly magical. The view is stunning from every angle, especially on a clear day or during sunrise and sunset. Whether you visit the 5th Station, Lake Kawaguchi, or view it from afar, the scenery is peaceful and awe-inspiring. It’s a must-see landmark that captures the beauty of Japan’s nature and spirit. A perfect spot for photos, hiking, and unforgettable memories!

A reminder that Mt. Fuji represents strength, resilience, and enduring character, similar to the steadfastness of the mountain itself. A spiritual symbol of spiritual growth and enlightenment, a national symbol of Japan's strength, and a source of artistic inspiration.

Don't underestimate this place, some may so it's a walk in the park but it's not. If you're not fit, you will suffer, especially if you plan on ascending and descending on the same day which is what I had done. I do a lot of walk and hike but this was the first proper mountain I had ever climbed. It wasn't so much of my fitness that was an issue, but rather, the altitude sickness. And yes, altitude sickness is real! About ⅔ into the climb, I started feeling the affects of it. For every few steps I went up in elavation, I kept stopping because I felt like hurling. Eventually, I threw up three times, at three different stages of the latter part of the climb. My companion on the other hand, who had never done this let alone walking or hiking, didn't suffer a bit. So it does differ in affects, from person to person. But having said that, do stay overnight and acclimatise for God's sake, as it will make the climb more pleasurable.
Tajul I — Google review
The gorgeous Mount Fuji! Blessed to witness this volcano peak on a clear day. One can never be tired watching this view the whole day.
Pranjit D — Google review
It was an amazing experience! View at the top will take your breath away and is totally worth the eight hour hike. We took the Subashiri Trail and stayed at Tomoekan. Enjoyed the nature, plenty of blue sky and the feeling of walking on cloud, literally. Highly recommend of you are considering this. To optimize your experience , highly recommend you work out and prep yourself physically well enough before the climb.

Visiting Mt. Fuji is a breathtaking and unforgettable experience. Seeing this majestic peak in person feels truly magical — its beauty shines from every angle, especially at sunrise or sunset. Whether you’re admiring it from the 5th Station, the shores of Lake Kawaguchi, or from afar, the scenery is serene and awe-inspiring. A true symbol of Japan’s natural beauty and spirit — perfect for photos, hikes, and lifelong memories.

Nestled in the scenic Fuji area, Fuji Kachoen Garden Park is a delightful destination for nature lovers and families alike. This enchanting greenhouse showcases an impressive array of vibrant flowers that create a stunning visual feast, with blooms cascading from the ceiling and adorning the walls. Visitors can immerse themselves in the park's lively atmosphere, where they can interact with various birds, including playful parrots that may even greet you with cheerful phrases as you stroll by.
A great place to spend 2 hrs. Great for the kids because they were able to get up close and feed exotic birds like owls parrots and flamingoes.

Everything about this place is was so beautiful. There were tons of different birds to see, and lots of different ways to interact with them and get close to them. A few of the parrots like to say こんにちは! as you walk by. You can feed them and sometimes pay to touch them or let them sit on your shoulders. I especially liked the greenhouse and all of the beautiful blooming flowers hanging from the ceiling and stacked up the walls. Also the employees were all really nice and helpful. 10/5. I can't wait to come back with my friends sometime. :)
Mariah G — Google review
Not an expert on birds. But felt many displayed stress like walking in circles, bar biting, rocking. Maybe some birds were rescued and unable to survive in the wild but 100% this place would not be permitted in the UK. My photos show how owls and birds of prey kept in the UK. I'm a guest in Japan and not preaching just saying not for me.

We've visited this botanical garden luckily while returning from Fuji area. When i entered to the botanical garden, i was shocked with the most beautiful flower sight i have ever seen. You become exciting with many kind of flowers with nearly every type of color! You must visit this place if you go to Fuji area. Also, there are some kinds of owl and birds inside the garden.

Wonderfull botanical park with tons of plants and birds. It is not huge but have a lot of variety of life. Ducks, Parrots , different species of Owls and lot more. Some parrots even say Konichiva. The outside area offers a good view of Mount Fuji.

Amazing place to check out and interact with birds. They have shows with up close viewing of some of the birds. Really fun and enjoyable. Lost track of time just enjoying ourselves and all the different birds they had on display!
Austin H — Google review
Not necessarily being a huge fan of botanical garden or zoo, my expectation wasn't that high, but it turned out that I ended up liking this place very much. I had never seen so many different types of owls at once. The buildings are dated, but they work pretty well with a diverse set of birds / flowers to create its own unique environment.

Road Station Asagiri Kogen is a popular grassy plateau known for its stunning views of Mt. Fuji and as a take-off point for hang-gliders. The area hosts the Fujinomiya Matsuri, the biggest festival in Fujinomiya city, featuring lively street performances and traditional taiko battles. Visitors can enjoy unobstructed views of Mt. Fuji from the vast plains, especially during autumn when golden pampas grass blankets the fields.
We stay one day overnight. We arrive around 4 pm...it's a beautiful place to go around, walk and enjoy the day with a great view of mount Fuji. This sideroad has so many different options to enjoy the day there, good food, picnic areas, brewery, visitor information. If you can stay overnight choose the back parking lot and with a side view of Mt Fuji....if you woke up early in summer (4:30 am) maybe you will get an unforgettable view of Fuji.... Once in a life time experience.

5 stars roadstation. Great food, nice view and not crowded !
Chris D — Google review
Like many road stations (michinoeki) in japan, this one is really a nice place to drop by if you're passing through. Even if you don't drive you can come here by a bus that runs between Mt. Fuji station (in yamanashi) and Shin-Fuji station (in Shizuoka). I came here by bus from Fujinomiya station and explored the area. It has a huge parking lot, toilets, showers, vending machines, souvenir shops, ice-cream, Fuji viewing observation deck and a lot more. There is a trail from here that goes to a spot called 'Fureai no Mori entrance'. It is a 50 min circular walking trail into the forested area in this neighbourhood (goes all the way up to the border of Yamanashi prefecture). After exploring the area, I walked 3-4 km south to the bus stop called 'Asagiri kogen' which has a nice Family Mart so you can rest there while waiting for your bus back to civilization. You can take great shots of Fuji and farmlands all along the way.

Stopped by on a road trip around Fuji-san to take some pictures. Didn't realise it but it was culture day in Japan so there was a small festival set up outside. Lots of traditional foods and snacks and street foods. Felt like it was the middle of no where but it was very lively. Inside was lots of traditional snacks and seasonal foods as well. Had some fresh raw milk from cows that graze on the mountain side. Was very rich and creamy with a strong beef flavour. Not sure what it would be like on a regular day, but it was also exceptionally clear so we got some good photos of Fuji-san that day.
Kyle H — Google review
It was a great experience to see Mt. Fuji up close again after a long time. It's different seeing him from a far and go and see him this close. This is also the station where you can start to hike using the Yoshida trail going up the mountain. Hiking season starts on July though. We went here last year around May.

Camping. Enjoy life and try to experience the beauty of this place.

Japanese regional restaurant
Sanrokuen is a traditional barbecue restaurant located in a 150-year-old building that offers an authentic dining experience reminiscent of ancient Japan. Diners can cook their own food on skewers over a charcoal grill at the center of their table, choosing from various set courses featuring meats, seafood, tofu, and vegetables. The restaurant's rustic ambiance with a thatched roof and dark wooden interior beams adds to the unique dining experience.
Food is absolutely amazing, and the portions are very generous. I ordered one ramen and a combo set with ramen, fried rice, and a raw egg on top. Everything was delicious, especially the rich, flavorful broth and perfectly cooked noodles. The fried rice had a nice smoky taste, and the raw egg added a creamy texture. All of this cost only about 2,000 ¥, which is a great deal for such a satisfying meal. Highly recommended!
Pleum A — Google review
Very nice BBQ Japanese setting serving a good variety of seafood and meats. I would recommend ordering ala carte unless you're a tofu, fishcake and rice ball person. The ambiance is relaxing and suitable for chit chatting or business executive discussion. Perfect place during winter.

Sanrokuen 山麓園 is an excellent place for a traditional, authentic Japanese robatayaki. The restaurant is in an over a hundred-year-old building. I am happy to have an enjoyable experience with all my family and friends in our Mt. Fuji trip. The restaurant is fantastic, and the ingredients they use are very fresh and of the highest quality. They also offer the best service. However, please don’t forget to make a reservation. Sanrokuen is usually booked weeks in advance.

It’s an unique experience though on a higher end side. We ordered the 22k yen premium set for 1 which was enough for 2. It will be better if there are more instructions and guidance given to grilling the food as I was stupidly watching my neighbours how to cook certain dishes

This place takes you back to medieval Japan vibes when you sit around a bonfire and grill, warm, cook your food. Say no more. I recommend if you come to Fuji, find this place. You really need to come and try it.

A renowned eatery located in the picturesque Asagiri Plateau, 銀座 スエヒロ 富士店 offers an exceptional dining experience. Shiraito Falls is a wide and unique waterfall located in the picturesque Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park. Despite being only 20 meters high, it is incredibly captivating due to its hundreds of individual streams that span across a 150-meter-wide rockface, resembling flowing white threads. Visitors can also enjoy breathtaking views of Mount Fuji and Suruga Bay from the daring Mishima Skywalk, which is the longest footbridge in Japan.
The place is beautiful, even though I didn’t get to see the view of Mount Fuji. Still, this spot is definitely worth visiting. The water is so clear that you can see the bottom easily. Unfortunately, swimming is not allowed here. But for the sake of safety and preserving nature’s beauty, it’s a necessary rule

I recently visited Shiraito Falls in Japan, and it was an absolutely magical experience. The falls were stunningly beautiful, surrounded by lush greenery, and the area was incredibly peaceful. The maintenance of the site was top-notch, and the whole atmosphere was just calming and refreshing. I highly recommend it!
Uhlan D — Google review
We visited Shiraito Falls on a cloudy and rainy day, but despite the weather, it turned out to be such a memorable experience for all seven of us in the family. The soft drizzle actually made the surroundings feel more magical as the mist from the falls blended beautifully with the fog, giving the whole place a dreamlike atmosphere. The sound of the cascading water was so soothing, and the lush greenery around us looked even more vibrant under the rain. What made the visit even more special was that, just for a brief moment, the clouds parted and we caught a glimpse of Mount Fuji in the distance. It felt like a small gift from nature after waiting patiently in the rain. The walking paths were easy to follow, though a little slippery, and we took our time enjoying every view along the way. Even with wet shoes and umbrellas in hand, we couldn’t help but smile. There was something peaceful about being surrounded by nature, hearing the water roar, and feeling the cool mist on our faces. Shiraito Falls truly lived up to its name as one of Japan’s most beautiful waterfalls, rain and all.
Resh R — Google review
Shiraito Waterfall is a peaceful and refreshing stop in Karuizawa. The waterfall is not tall, but it stretches widely across the rock face and flows in thin, silky streams that really do resemble white threads. The surrounding forest makes the whole area feel calm and secluded, and the short walk from the car park is very manageable. A great place to enjoy nature, take a slow stroll, and unwind from the busy town areas. Beautiful in every season, especially during cooler months when the mist adds to the atmosphere.

The place felt magical, absolutely stunning! Just being there was so relaxing and calming. It’s a small area, so there’s not a lot to do right at the spot, but it's worth a visit if you're nearby. We stopped by on the way to our paragliding activity and loved the peaceful vibe. There's also a nearby farm that's great for a family outing. Definitely recommend checking it out if you're in the area! There wasn't any entry fee, just the car parking fee, which was 500 yen
Ashar M — Google review
Even though it was a cloudy and rainy day, the experience was powerful and unforgettable. A full arc of roaring, stunning waterfalls — truly a sight to behold. Entrance is free, and parking costs between 200–500 yen depending on how close you park to the entrance. The walk around the waterfalls takes less than an hour. Highly recommended!
Sagy B — Google review
Great location to just relax and enjoy nature. Two falls for one drive. Crisp clear water and clean location. Not alot of visitors with makes it nice to just lounge around for a bit. Swimming is prohibited as a heads up. Wish I knew before I went so just putting it out there. Parking was also a breeze. 500 yen directly at the spot or 200 yen down the road. Either way its well worth it.

Fuji Milk Land is a charming destination with various activities and offerings. Visitors can enjoy delicious milk coffee, fresh fruits, and vegetables from the local region. The accommodation provides unobstructed views of Mount Fuji and offers a perfect setting for a magical evening, complete with a BBQ set. Additionally, the place is known for its ice cream, particularly the cream cheese flavor. It's also an ideal spot for families as it features animal petting areas that kids would love.
I unfortunately went on during a holiday, so half was closed, but the service was great! I bought some milk (best milk ever!) and ate at the restaurant as well, great meal for the price! And technically with a view of Mt. Fuji (it was cloudy so you couldn't see it but it's right there!)
Samantha B — Google review
I don’t think it’s worth a visit unless you have kids. I did see that it was more for kids but thought maybe I would be able to see a cow or something and have some ice cream. There is a restaurant there but it was very busy. There was a goat petting area but it’s like 700¥ for 15 minute plus then you pay for food. I didn’t want to pet a goat that badly lol. Lots of kids activities and playgrounds so it’s definitely worth it there. Idk where they keep the cows here cause we couldn’t see them, so we ended up leaving to IDEBOK cow farm for ice cream and a more adult vibe.

Creamy and not too sweet soft serve, they do sell local snacks/fruits/vegetables at reasonable prices. Highly recommend for who needs a quick stop during your trip. It was a cloudy day or we could have seen the Mt. Fuji.
Tran D — Google review
We came as two adults without kids so skipped all the animal petting part of the place. However do go and try the milk coffee (pictured) as it's really nice. It's got a nice natural sweetness to it but a sophisticated after taste. I ended up drinking two! There are also fresh fruit and vegetables available from the local region. Looked really good alas as I'm a foreigner I have no where to cook them. Toilets are nice and clean too.

Perfect place for people who love villages. It had really beautiful mountains and cows and goats. Got my coffee from there and lots of snack as souvenir

We had an absolutely wonderful time at Fuji milk land. The accomodation was perfect for our needs. From our balcony we had a perfect unobstructed view of mount Fuji. Wow what a sight! For dinner we enjoyed the BBQ set which the staff so kindly set up outside our cabin. The setting made for a truly magical evening. The food was great (set included beef, pork, vegetables and noodles as well as sauces ect.) We washed it down with some craft beers brewed by the farm which were quite a nice change from the usual Sapporo, Asahi selection. Since we arrived quite late in the afternoon on our first day we spent the afternoon visiting the animals and enjoying some ice cream! Awesome experience for the whole family. Would highly recommend if you are looking for a fun stay at a reasonable price!

Nestled in the scenic landscape near Mount Fuji, Makaino Farm Resort is a hidden gem that promises an unforgettable experience for visitors of all ages. This interactive farm offers a delightful array of activities, from pony rides to petting friendly livestock, ensuring that children are entertained and engaged throughout their visit. The farm's spacious environment provides ample opportunities for relaxation and exploration, making it perfect for families and couples alike.
Fun day out in the sun. Great space, lots for families to do. Free parking at their parking lots, plentiful at Lot #2 across the road. Paid entry, then most activities cost extra (¥100 for pet food to ¥1,000 for other activities - prices as of mid April 2025). Photos are free - and the view speaks for itself (it's amazing!). We didn't make it to the iconic big swing as the queues were hectic. Come with children, come as adults - there's something for everyone. Don't get me wrong, this is definitely a tourist attraction. There isn't much that screams "authentic Japan", but you aren't coming here for a lesson in Japanese history. It's essentially a farm style theme park - and that's totally fine.

Makaino Farm Resort is the perfect place for the whole family to spend the day. The resort has designed a variety of fun activities for groups of friends or families. The resort features a variety of animals for visitors who love and are interested in interacting with them. Additionally, Makaino Farm Resort offers numerous locations where you can capture stunning pictures of Mt. Fuji in the background, provided the weather is favorable. However, we didn't have good weather when we were there. But we still enjoyed what the resort had to offer.

I didn’t expect much of this farm as I thought it was more suitable for family with children. But I was so wrong. This place is huge and so well kept. And I’m quite thrilled to see farm animals roaming freely and people walking goats. Besides, the farm is on a slope facing opposite to Mt Fuji. So, there are many (10?) photo spots where you can take varied shots of Mt Fuji. We were blessed with a beautiful clear blue sky to capture the majestic Mt Fuji.
Ori J — Google review
On a good day with views of Mt Fuji, this place would be absolutely beautiful as it's designed for unique and pretty pictures with a variety of signs, props, and other things like swings, seating, frames, animals, flowers and a hill against the backdrop of the mountain. Although it was cloudy for us, it was still heaps of fun!

Imagine a beautiful farm to spend the day at. Yes, this is one of the places where you can do just that. Interact with the animals, from small rabbits to goats, horses, and cows, feeding them. There's also a camping area for those who like camping, several beautiful spots for you to photograph the famous Mount Fuji, and beautiful flowers scattered and planted throughout the place. There's a food court with some restaurants serving delicious dishes and desserts, and you can also sample dairy products from the farm itself. The parking lot is spacious and large. It's a good idea to wear comfortable walking shoes, as it's a very large place with some steep climbs.

Nestled in a charming locale, The Kiseki Museum of World Stones is a delightful gem for both young and old. This quaint museum showcases an impressive array of rare stones, fossils, and even luminescent specimens that will captivate any visitor. One highlight is the special exhibition dedicated to Kenji Miyazawa, a beloved children's author with a passion for stones.
This was a gem of a find! Really cool demonstrator with the guide explaining three rocks in both Japanese and English. Very extensive display with lots of exhibits that you can actually touch (this is not possible in Australia). The museum shop had some cool rocks. The staff were very friendly. There was an English guidebook available but I was lazy and just liked looking at rocks without understanding so I did not get this so can't comment. Loved it, definitely worth a visit!

Really interesting place. Saw the sign when driving past and it turned out to be a really good little stop. Plenty of fossils, rocks and crystals to be seen
Ahmed P — Google review
Very cute little museum, there are some very interesting exhibits. Everything is laid out in a very fun manner which would be especially good for kids, but it's just as enjoyable for adults. Exhibits don't have English, but Google translate worked well. They have a little interactive demonstration in the entry hall (with English cards) which was very interesting. There's a small outbuilding where you can dig for little chips of gems and other semi precious stones which is just a generally fun experience, most of the people there when we went were actually adults having a good time.

Yakisoba Restaurant
Soba noodle shop
On December 30, 2021, Hiraishiya, a yakisoba restaurant in Japan, experienced a bustling day with customers arriving one after another. Located near Shiraito Falls, it attracted visitors who came to dine after admiring the scenic beauty. The menu featured Fujinomiya Yakisoba priced at 650 yen. Patrons praised the chewy noodles intertwined with savory sauce that created an incredibly delicious taste. Notably, takeout options were available for convenience.
Best yakisoba! Simple and delicious… be warned: you may eat more than one plate

そばの実 一閑人 is a cozy restaurant that offers a variety of soba noodle dishes, soups, and sake in a simple setting. The establishment has garnered praise for its delicious offerings, with visitors often having to endure long waits due to its popularity. The ambiance is described as comfortable, with the scent of tatami mats adding to the overall experience. Customers have particularly enjoyed the Juwari Soba and Tororo Soba dishes.

We randomly selected a high rating suggested shop and found this. Once arriving there are some people are queuing. There isn’t staff greeting you in front of the shop since they have only 3 members running busy duties inside. You have to go inside and write your name then wait until they call you for seating. We wait not so long and get counter seats. Menu has some photos with Japanese which we could order from. We got two different dishes, the taste is great. The cold soba fresh up your day. I’ve never tried cold soba before but it isn’t bad at all in the first bite just feel little strange. Not sure if there are hot soba dish. Recommend for those who looking for a good soba shop in the area.

The wait is really long, they only let in 2 groups every 30min. And they don't serve kids under 6. But the soba was really good. Also liked the beef in soba soup. The beef was very tender and the salt in the soup was just enough to bring out the flavor of the beef.

(Translated by Google) June 30, 2025 For lunch, I had Genbiki Seiro (1,100 yen) + Sobagaki for two (1,320 yen). There are several free parking spaces in front of the store. The entrance faces south. The store opens at 11:00, and I arrived about 20 minutes before, so I was the third in line. I was able to enter the store and order as soon as it opened. The staff explained that sobagaki can only be made for two people, so I ordered two servings. It has a thick and smooth texture. Then, Genbiki Seiro, the flavor of soba noodles is strongly felt. The soba soup is thick and the dessert pudding is delicious. I wondered if I could eat this much, but I was able to eat it all in one go. The staff's attitude was also nice. I was very satisfied. I want to go again. (Translated by Google) I visited this place on the recommendation of an acquaintance. Apparently it's a very famous soba restaurant in Shizuoka, and it's common to wait an hour. So I went at 10:30, filled out the reservation book, and waited in the car - the perfect decision. Before I knew it, my car was there. We were called in as soon as the restaurant opened. The inside is very clean, with a stylish counter and tables. We sat at a table by the sunken kotatsu in the back, but the other tables were tatami-style. If you have trouble with your legs, I think you can be seated by the sunken kotatsu if you let the staff know. We ordered beef tendon soba noodle soup, soba porridge, my wife ordered grated yam soba, and I ordered grated daikon radish soba. The beef tendon soba noodle soup had a rich, creamy texture that went perfectly with the well-cooked beef tendon. The soba porridge was very soft and smooth. Actually, they're in the same business, but I was impressed. The tororo soba has a mild flavor. The oroshi soba is made with melted roasted miso and seasonings, and you can add plum vinegar to taste. This oroshi soba is incredibly delicious. As expected, visiting other soba restaurants is always fun and you can learn something new. By the way, dessert is included. If you're in the Asagiri Kogen or Fujinomiya area, be sure to stop by. First, the aroma of the soba soup spread softly, and it was deep and flavorful with a crisp finish. The thin soba noodles were firm and the fragrant flavor of the soba rose with each bite. The grated yam was mellow and had an exquisite stickiness, and it mixed with the soup, making it irresistible. The soba soup at the end was thick and delicious, soaking into the body. Tonkatsu restaurant
The tonkatsu restaurant, Katsuyu, offers a delightful dining experience. Upon visiting for the first time with a colleague's recommendation, I savored their signature dishes - millefeuille pork cutlet and loin pork cutlet. The fried food boasted a tender, pink interior that was both succulent and flavorsome. The original sauce provided an enjoyable spicy kick, complemented by the pickpocket sesame blended with rock salt.
Found a gem of a place run by an old couple! The tonkatsu was juicy and well cooked that leaves you wanting more! Oishii!

This hidden gem was absolutely amazing. Best tonkatsu I’ve ever had and it was so authentic, made from scratch in the back (we could hear them pounding the cutlets haha). This older Japanese couple run this restaurant, they speak almost no English and were fascinated to find out where we were from (you can tell it’s a place the locals go, not a lot of tourists). It’s near a bus stop on your way down from the Fuji viewing areas and definitely worth the detour. Highly suggest you try the “house special” layered pork with cheese (hard to describe but was absolutely mouth-watering). You even get a little dessert with the meal. Please support them!

This place is a hidden gem in Fujinomiya. The pork was so juicy and full of flavor. It was pounded and cooked to order, and some of the best Katsu I have ever had. Paired with the perfect bowl of rice and a cold beer, I was in heaven! (Translated by Google) The inside of the restaurant is greasy and uncomfortable. The bottles of dressing and tonkatsu sauce hadn't been wiped down, and they were sticky when I touched them. I don't want to imagine what's going on inside the kitchen. The amount of cabbage was small, too little to eat with the tonkatsu fried in lard, and it gave me heartburn. Cash-only payment doesn't seem to fit with modern society. If there's no way to pay by card, I end up having to go to multiple convenience stores like I did, which seems rude to customers. Set meals are served on a tray, so I wish they'd bring them all together instead of bringing each dish separately. The miso soup was lukewarm. The millefeuille cutlet was delicious! The four pieces of pork cutlet may have been too few... We'd definitely like to return to try the owner's exquisite dishes again. ☆ Thank you for the coffee after the meal.
