Suita in 4 days

If you only have 4 days to spend in Suita, we’ve narrowed down the top places you should check out to get the best experience of your time here.
Suita offers a mix of modern attractions and green space, best known for Expo ’70 Commemorative Park with its wide lawns, seasonal flowers, and the iconic Tower of the Sun sculpture. Nearby EXPOCITY combines shopping, dining, an aquarium, and entertainment facilities in one large complex. The city is also home to the National Museum of Ethnology, which explores cultures from around the world, and Panasonic Stadium Suita, where J.League club Gamba Osaka plays. With frequent trains, Suita is an easy day trip from central Osaka, giving a quieter contrast to the city’s busier districts.
With favorites like Redhorse Osaka Wheel, CARINO ESAKA, and J.S. Burgers Cafe LaLaport EXPOCITY, we’ll make sure you don’t miss out on all the must sees. We even included some of our favorite food spots around the area, like Tousuke Ramen and Kura Sushi Namba-Motomachi Store so you can get the best taste of Suita while you’re here. To see our full list of food recommendations, check out our best restaurants post. If you're traveling on a budget, you can check out our cheap eats post.

The Umeda Sky Building is a remarkable architectural gem in Osaka, standing tall at 173 meters. This iconic structure features a rooftop garden observatory that provides breathtaking panoramic views of the cityscape, making it an ideal spot for both daytime and nighttime visits. The experience is further enhanced by its vibrant restaurant floor, which captures the charm of early Showa Period Japan. Visitors can enjoy delicious meals while soaking in the historical ambiance.
This is a must do in Osaka for the views alone. I pre booked my tickets on the Klook app, which I highly recommend. It was almost instant, and I just showed the QR code at the entrance. Even though it's a super famous tourist spot, the line was flowing and the staff were really efficient at moving everyone along. I timed my visit to arrive just before sunset, which was the perfect move. Just be prepared, it got packed very quickly around that time as everyone wants to see that golden hour glow. The view from the open air deck is absolutely stunning. You get an amazing 360 degree look at all of Osaka as the sun goes down and the city lights start to sparkle. It was awesome that you can stay up there as long as you want and just soak it all in. A quick tip: there's a cafe on the floor just below the top deck if you get hungry or want a drink. Also, just know that once you decide to leave and go down to the bottom floor, you can't go back up. When I visited, I also caught the German Christmas Market happening on the ground floor right below the building. It was such a nice surprise and a perfect way to end the evening, grabbing some festive treats after seeing the incredible city view. It made the whole experience even more magical.

This initially unassuming building has a quite good free area, with a shop and great views, but it's worth paying to go all the way up! No prebooking was needed when we came during a weekday morning. The open-air top has good views of the surrounding area, although the ideal south view is blocked by other skyscrapers, unfortunately. There's a very small museum with the history of the building, containing an excellent time-lapse video of the unbelievable central area raising process. There's a fairly good food & drink shop inside, worth a rest here if you can get a good window seat.

Due to the roadworks and construction this was difficult to find. But once we found it, it was a lovely building. I used the Osaka Amazing Pass. Note that if you come before 3pm or is free with the pass. Unfortunately we can after 3pm so the pass allowed us a 10% discount. We bought the tickets on the day. There was no queue and the tickets were readily available. Then it was a lift and an elevator up to the top and the skyline was amazing. There is a specific area for photo spot. Not controlled by the staff but everyone was respectful by queuing up and not taking too long to take the pics. It was an amazing view. Also walked up the stairs to the outer layer of the sky building. It's outdoors with ample amount of safety so wonderful to go out and feel the warm breeze.
Ayesha A — Google review
One of our first activity in Osaka. We visited this building and queued for some time to get access to the elevator which will take us up to the observation floor - which is the top 2 floors of this building. Once upstairs, you have to get tickets and then, you are free to roam around the 2 floors. There are plenty of nice view all around. There is a cafe, lavatory as well as a souvenir shop. The rooftop is the most popular spot as you can view the Osaka skyline and it is gorgeous in a clear night. I wish we had come here during sunset as I am sure we could get aome amazing pictures then. We spent quite sometime admiring the cityscape. There are a few platforms set up for taking photos. We finally left when it became too cold due to the strong, chilly wind.

Walked from Osaka Castle to Umeda Sky Building and the walk itself was nothing special, with the aggravating factor that there are roadworks going on. Also, expect to wait a long time to take the lift (almost 1 hour), and then to come down (it doesn’t matter if you buy a ticket in advance or not, it’s just the normal waiting time to take the lift as there are only two that take turns). The views are ok, but you clearly realise (if you haven’t done so already) that Osaka is a very grey and brownish city, with too many buildings. You almost see no green, no nature. Also, most of the windows are blocked by tables and chairs of the café and people seem to love to block your access to them, so it can be tricky to take decent pictures. Once again, souvenir shops and I didn’t really care for what they were selling. Was hoping for a great experience as every blog tells us it’s a must-see place, but in my opinion it wasn’t really worth the walk (it’s far from everything) and I preferred the views from the Osaka Castle. Oh, and bring cash, I believe the tickets machines only accept cash (2000 yen per adult), but I’m not sure.

The Umeda Sky Building is an architectural must-see! The views from the Floating Garden Observatory are breathtaking, offering a truly beautiful 360-degree skyline. What truly made our visit exceptional was the staff; they were incredibly helpful with our 2-year-old and her pram, so attentive and caring making access feel genuinely VIP. The building is easily reachable from Umeda Station via a short, straightforward walk. Travel Tip: Buy your tickets ahead of time to skip the long queues! Also, planning your trip for an early morning slot or a weekday will greatly reduce wait times. Before or after your visit, explore the many great eateries in the surrounding Umeda area, especially the retro Takimi Koji gourmet street downstairs. Highly recommended for all visitors, especially those with small children!

The Umeda Sky Building is a landmark in Umeda, Osaka, noted for its unusual design. A popular observatory deck is located there. I used my Osaka E-Pass to access the Kuchu Teien Observatory. You can get there by doing the following: 1. Take the escalator to Fun Fun Plaza. 2. On the third floor, line up for the elevator that goes to the ticket counter on the 30+ floor. The line can be long but it moves fast and there are two elevators. It took me about 25 minutes to reach the floor. 3. Once you reach the ticket counter, show your E-Pass. After that, take the escalator to the observation deck where you’ll find a café and a souvenir shop. 4. To reach the rooftop deck, take the stairs. 5. Going down involves taking the escalator and then the elevator.
JP T — Google review
We visited Umeda Sky Building on a Monday night. We had to pay ¥1800 a discounted price from ¥2000. This is the price if you want to have full access up to the roof deck. The tower is 175meters tall with a lounge and cafe area, souvenir shop, gachapon, lock and keys for lovers, and very nice view of Osaka and nearby areas. Coming at night will let you experience a starry floor. A piece of advice, best wear white things as the UV lights make white things shine so it will look great on photos. However, mind you it is not for the weak hearted as the center part overlooks a very tall space where you can see the whole building down.

Multicolored seasonal rose blooms, plus a pool with splash fountains & an artificial stream.
This is a gorgeous space to relax in. We went on a Saturday morning and there were stalls lining the central walkway of the park next to the Rose Garden. The stalls sold cookies, stationery, bags and there were quite a few stalls doing activities for children. A happy place! I love walking in the garden and learnt many names of roses.

Can’t believe it’s free. Although some of the flowers were already wilting, the variety of colorful roses was still beautiful. There were quite a few people and kids around, but it wasn’t overwhelmingly crowded. Recommend stopping by if you’re in the area and have an hour or two to spare.

A lovely area for relaxation, contemplation and enjoying. Spacious designed. Lovely roses, Nice water elements. A more European set-up rather than a Japanese set-up. Includes a large area for child play. Enough resting elements, like benches. No pick-nick tables or specific areas for eating. Enjoyed this even during rain as there are enough trees to provide cover.

Came here after lunch on the 1st day in Osaka in July recently. Nice little park close to the hotel and it has a rose garden. Unfortunately it was summer and not many were in bloom. Still the park and flowers were enough to make the walk interesting.

My wife and I always find time to enjoy the beautiful things in life, so we often visit botanical or flower gardens at the locations we visit. The rose garden in Osaka was one of the best experiences we've had. There's a beauty in the serenity that this place provides. We went during lunchtime and saw many people quietly enjoying their lunches while admiring the beauty around them. There are many different roses here with cards explaining their origins and planting dates. The area is free to enter and provides a better view than some of the locations we've paid for. If you want to see some beautiful flowers while enjoying a peaceful stroll, I highly recommend that you find the opportunity to spend some time here.

Very enchanting walk round the garden with so many beautiful full blown roses and other flowers. People were very discipline, no shouting other than playing balls among the children, no inconsiderate people, families gathering were happy and calm enjoying their day. Very nice place with cooling weather. 03.05.2025

Visited last June 26 with my senior mom. A few roses were already in bloom. The park is big enough for walks and runs, even for strolling around with friends and family. They also have benches around the park for those that prefer to pass some time.

Shinto shrine
Sights & Landmarks
Sacred & Religious Sites
Namba Yasaka Shrine, located in the Namba district of Osaka, is a truly unique and visually mesmerizing attraction. The shrine's main building is shaped like a giant lion head with its mouth wide open, creating an impressive 12-meter tall and 11-meter wide structure. This shrine is often referred to as the Lion Shrine due to this distinctive feature. It is believed that the open mouth of the lion swallows evil spirits and brings good fortune to those seeking success in business and education.
Second time in Osaka, first time visiting the Namba Yasaka Shrine. Very beautiful and unique shrine! The large lion statue in itself is worth the visit! The goshuin is also very pretty here! There were unfortunately also a lot of people in queue to make their prayers at the main shrine.
Frederik F — Google review
Namba Yasaka Shrine is an absolute must-visit landmark known for its strikingly dramatic architecture and unique atmosphere. While the massive lion stage is the main attraction, the rest of the shrine grounds are compact and well-maintained, offering a brief, pleasant cultural break. It’s located conveniently close to Namba’s bustling center, making it an easy addition to any Osaka itinerary. The best way to enjoy the tranquility and fully appreciate the architecture is to visit early in the morning. This is the key recommendation, as the shrine can get very crowded later in the day. Arriving early ensures you can take clear photographs of the lion head and experience the quiet spiritual atmosphere before the crowds descend.
Chanaporn Y — Google review
This is a small but beautiful temple in Namba Osaka. The big lion head is very cool and gives a different vibe compared to other temples. Even though it's a very nice temple, I wouldn't recommend taking a detour just to see it. Visiting the whole thing took us probably 15 minutes tops and it was overcrowded. If you wish to pray at a shrine in Japan, you should definitely go somewhere.

Osaka Namba Yasaka Shrine is a unique and fascinating Shinto shrine located near Namba Station. Its most famous feature is the giant lion-shaped stage (the “Shishiden”), which symbolizes protection against evil and the power to bring success and good fortune. The design is impressive and makes a great photo spot. Although it’s not a large shrine, the atmosphere is calm and welcoming, offering a nice break from the busy city streets. A must-visit hidden gem in Osaka!
Sky N — Google review
The shrine is best known for its giant lion head stage (獅子殿, shishiden) — a massive structure about 12 meters tall and 11 meters wide. It’s believed that the lion’s mouth swallows evil spirits and brings good luck, success, and protection to visitors. Despite being in bustling Namba, the shrine has a calm, spiritual atmosphere. It’s a great spot for photos, peaceful reflection, or a quick cultural stop while exploring Osaka.
Rene M — Google review
Namba Yasaka Jinja is one of the most striking and memorable shrines in Japan. The moment you step onto the grounds, the massive lion-head stage takes your breath away — it’s bold, unique, and unlike anything you’ll see anywhere else. The atmosphere is uplifting and full of character, making the shrine feel both powerful and welcoming. It’s a place that instantly grabs your attention and leaves a lasting impression. A true hidden gem in Osaka and an absolute must-visit for anyone exploring the city.
The C — Google review
I visited Namba Yasaka Jinja alone, and it turned out to be one of the most special moments of my trip to Osaka. The giant lion head immediately caught my attention. Standing in front of it, I felt small but strangely calm, as if all the city’s chaos outside had suddenly gone quiet. What I loved most was the contrast: right in the middle of lively Namba, you step into this pocket of silence and strength. Being there on my own made it even more meaningful, I could take my time, listen to the soft sounds of the wind, and just be. The shrine isn’t large, but it has a powerful presence. Locals come and go quietly, some to pray, some just to pass through.

A hidden gem in the middle of Osaka! 🦁✨ Namba Yasaka Shrine is famous for its huge lion head stage — it looks amazing in photos and feels unique compared to other shrines in Japan. The atmosphere is calm and peaceful even though it’s close to busy Namba area. It’s a great spot to visit for a short break, take some memorable pictures, and feel a bit of traditional Japan in the city. Entrance is free and it’s easy to reach on foot from Namba Station.

(Translated by Google) September 2025 I visited the nearby Tire Shop for lunch after getting my tires inspected. The restaurant and shopping building are separated across the street. Parking seems to be the same. 90 minutes free (spends over ¥1,000). Perhaps it would be more convenient if it were connected by a promenade from the second floor. I don't think I'd stay long. The silver Asahi Beer silo and beer barrels (?) visible nearby were intriguing, reminiscent of a cluster of buildings in a futuristic city. The Yodare Gyouza was amazing! 💯 The ramen and maze-soba were pretty good too, but slightly more expensive than usual.

A pretty awesome small ramen shop. They serve a special kind of "sauce ramen". I believe the translation is "Mazesobe". I went with Tonaktsu (Pork bone base) instead of salt, and it was very flavorful. Sauce is thick and nice, with an toasty aroma. Definitely a good place to check out before or after the Asahi Brewery Tour.

(Translated by Google) This store is located at the north exit of JR Suita Station. I often pass by, but this was my first time visiting. Just like the exterior, the restaurant has a Japanese atmosphere and a calm atmosphere. Counter and table seats. Orders must be made orally. The menu is extensive. Mazesoba seems to be popular, but they had a limited edition salt ramen, so I ordered that. "Salt ramen limited time only" The aroma of the fish and seafood that rises up is so delicious. The flavor of the roasted pork belly and fried onions is a nice accent, but the sauce is a bit strong and I was worried about the saltiness. The curly noodles have a nice firm texture that lifts the soup well. It's close to the station and is open until late at night, making it an easy-to-use restaurant.

(Translated by Google) Mazesoba + draft beer for 1,450 yen. I was surprised at how luxurious the char siu was. I ordered pork bone mixed noodles. This char siu is roasted on the burner and is fragrant and very delicious. First of all, when you eat it normally, it has a strong tonkotsu taste and is delicious. If you eat about a third of this and add some chili oil, the flavor will become even more gorgeous. Goes well with draft beer! When I added vinegar to the remaining third, I was surprised to find that the taste became mellower. It was so delicious that I could enjoy three flavors in one dish. (Translated by Google) This restaurant has always caught my eye every time I passed by. However... I was bothered by the fact that there were hardly any customers there, even around lunchtime, so I didn't go in. This time, I was short on time and didn't want to go to a crowded restaurant, so I decided to go in. There was a middle-aged woman behind the counter. The other person was a young girl who seemed to be working part-time. ...Was my hunch correct? I ordered the safest option: soy sauce ramen with rice. I'll get straight to the conclusion. Considering the state of ramen in modern society, the taste is...out of the question. To put it simply, it's similar to the Chinese noodles you'd get at a restaurant in the Showa era, when there weren't many ramen specialty shops like there are today. My impression was that it was a taste that's hard to describe, neither chicken bone flavor nor Japanese broth. But the truth is, it's not bad, but not delicious either. As I always say, good food has something called a "taste concept" on the part of the cook. What do they want to communicate to the eater, what flavor do they want to emphasize and appeal to? Honestly, if you don't get that feeling, you can't call it food. Ramen is generally thought of as a separate food from other dishes, but recently that's no longer the case. These days, the number of excellent restaurants incorporating Italian cuisine and even threatening to rival Japanese cuisine is increasing. In this climate, it seems as if time has stood still at this restaurant. At that time, two elderly women entered the restaurant. I would say that the taste was in that vein.

Conveyor belt sushi restaurant
Kura Sushi Namba-Motomachi Store is a popular chain restaurant known for its conveyor belt sushi. This beloved spot offers an entry into the world of raw fish and rice delicacies, allowing customers to simply pick the plates they want as they pass by on the conveyor belt. The menu includes a variety of options, with favorites like salmon, beef, and pork dishes that are juicy and delicious. Despite being slightly more expensive than other brands, the quality of food justifies the price.
This was the best sushi place I've eaten in Osaka. Great service, fantastic food for very reasonable prices, great location. My only complaint is the noise level being too high. There is a music piece repeating every 5 seconds and loud announcements and beeps. I had to wear earplugs the whole time. Other than that eveything is great. If you are sensitive to noises, bring earplugs, sushi is really amazing and prices are quite reasonable. They have great desserts and high quality sake.

Great experience at this conveyor belt sushi near Namba. This chain, Kura, is everywhere and the quality was pretty good. We did a mix of sushi and rolls, some were a bit of a let down, others were excellent. The standout were seared salmon and the salt aged tuna. Service was super quick, the self ordered items came in under 2 mins every time.

After seeing the reviews on Google Maps, please be advised that the low reviews seem to be due to people that are new to Kaiten Sushi (conveyor belt sushi). For Kaiten Sushi, it is expected to not have little staff interactions. We arrived in the evening and it was not too busy. We were able to get seated right away. The food tasted fresh and everything came pretty quickly. We had an impressive amount of food, beers, and desserts. Unfortunately I did not take too many pictures due to being hungry but trust me when I say that I ordered a decent amount, nearly 12 plates.

Kura Sushi may not have the absolute best quality sushi among conveyor belt chains, but it’s the best value for the variety they offer. This branch was just around the corner from our hotel, so it quickly became our go-to spot. It always hit the spot. The fish was good, the specials were solid, and it was never too crowded. We never had to wait, probably because it’s in a slightly less touristy area in Naniwa, Namba. We ended up going there about five times during our 10-day Osaka trip.

One of the most popular and frequently visited sushi chains, known for its consistent quality and foreigner-friendly features. The menu offers an English option, accessible via the tablet or QR code on your mobile device, making it convenient for non-Japanese speakers. A standout feature is the fun gachapon game, which added an element of entertainment to my dining experience. The prices are very reasonable so do consider this for a budget friendly meal!

Good day to everyone except Kura Sushi Namba Motomachi branch!! haha it is a total shamozzle. regular conveyor belt broken, old sushi left on it, beer came with such force on the special order conveyor it half toppled into the bowl it came in, ordered wasabi, the wasabi came frozen in a tube… went back again the next day after opening to see if things had improved but I feel like the sushi was recycled from the day before. On the plus side: the tempura shrimp was good, on day one the scallop sushi and salmon avocado sushi was great but on day two the quality was much worse. Bonito egg bowl mini and takoyaki sounded amazing but they were both executed poorly. Still, a good place to visit for easy access to bathrooms, cashless payment and multiple language ordering options. Maybe try a different branch.

The sea urchin did not taste great; too long in the storage to be called fresh. The fugu was rubbery. That made my husband put off from eating fugu ever again. They no long have good tuna. When I visited Japan ~10 years ago (2016 to 2025), the sushi and sashimi at Kura used to give more portion of meat than rice. Now its looking more western (skimping on meat and less food options). There used to be more varieties of sushi at 100 Yen. The gotcha machine had a better chance of winning too and it was every 5 balls. Back then, after the 1st 5 plates, the game would start. Then it would be every 5 plates. Within 15 plates, I would get at least 1 gotcha during regular play. The plates were ~100 Yen for sushi and sashimi. Now the game would start with the first 10 plates, then every 5 plates. After eating 20 plates with my family, we didn't get anything. The plates now cost ~130 Yen and only up for the good stuff.

Izakaya restaurant
Robatayaki Isaribi is a traditional Japanese restaurant known for its open grill where local food is cooked to perfection. This spirited izakaya offers a friendly atmosphere and serves up skewered meats, seafood, and fresh veggies straight from the grill. Guests can also enjoy generous portions of tori no karaage (fried chicken). The restaurant's lively and entertaining ambiance makes it a must-visit spot in Osaka.
Such a unique dining experience bit hard to find go to where Google says it is and look for stairs leading down. Bit of a language barrier at first but we muddled through. You have to use your phone to order dishes, which means you need data services, and reception isn't great down there. All that aside the staff were excellent! The food was excellent! The cost was really affordable. I also really enjoyed sitting right at the grill because my legs would've definitely fallen asleep at one of the outer tables, you sit cross legged on mats on a raised floor.
Shawn T — Google review
Not the best food but decent, definitely live for the atmosphere and the vibe. Reservation is available online and they can sit big group like the 9 of us and also smaller groups. If you are lucky, you get to sit in the center of the restaurant around the bbq pit with other diners. There are floor tables which require you to sit on the floor with shoes off and high tables in the back for bigger groups. You order food thru your phone, dont worry they have free wifi available. Tons of food options and its not expensive so order away and enjoy !! Its a little tricky to find the restaurant since its below street level. Once you get to the big pharmacy on the corner lot, look for the stairs that does down. No elevator, mobile assist will have to walk down the stairs. And be ready to smell like oil and smoke after getting out. Ventilation is not great inside.
Jean N — Google review
You mainly come here for the vibe and experience. The food was just ok, and they were out of several items by the time we came for our reservation. Expect to leave sweaty and smelling like the grill, because there isn't good air circulation. Reservations recommended. Service was friendly. Ordering system is online, so it's pretty easy to navigate. Overall, a fun experience that probably doesn't warrant a repeat.

Bustling place and lively atmosphere. A bit smoky inside, could use better ventilation system. Friendly staff dealing with 9 gaijin as best they can. We had some nice big beers and food was decent. A little crowded, I think they segregate foreigners in a small back room.

First time experience such a LIVE grilling base on customers’ orders and once he cooked finish he will use rolling petal and handle over to his customers, that is the limelight throughout the whole process. Won’t get to see this except in Japan, authentic fresh cooking. Truly admire the chef coz he more than just multitask grilling and preparing, his service beyond expected. Well done.

so many korean there..! hehe.. The food was delicious. The staff were very friendly. However, due to the promotion, there was a communication error. With very few staff members speaking English, it was exhausting to constantly communicate with them during meal times. Please keep this in mind.

A unique and one-of-a-kind experience. Happily ordered alot of food and our table ended up with so many plates. The neighbour beside us was giggling at us 😳 Tried a lot of their dishes, mostly average old school yakitori but the one that really slaps was their grilled scallop. Do note that every diner needs to have a drink each. Apart from that it was rather great experience! Very worth the money for the amount of things we ordered, mostly 330yen unless otherwise stated on the menu itself.
C L — Google review
They did not clarify the time, but they did kick us out within 40 minutes right after the first dish has ever been served. This is ridiculous, the reception did not mention the dining time when we approached her, then they even did not admit that they did not deliver the eggplant to us, the server flown 🙄 to us, at the end the kitchen delivered the food after 5 minutes we cancelled it😀 The feeling was very bad, it made me feel like I was having no money to pay for my bill or something else. Anyways, they still welcoming guests when we were heading out, means they are not going to close in a short time. Seriously, no next time, and I hope you would not feel this way as well.

Italian restaurant
XEX West is an elegant restaurant that offers a blend of Japanese and Italian cuisine, featuring a seasonal menu and a bar with a terrace area. The restaurant is known for its Italian lunch buffet, which includes a wide variety of options such as Napoli pizza, spaghetti, gnocchi, salads, vegetables, and desserts like crepes and chocolate fountain.
It was a fantastic buffet. We reserved online so it was only ¥4900 per person for the lunch buffet. Everything tasted great and was really high quality. The staff are professional and the atmosphere is comfortable. We really took our time and appreciated every dish. I recommend!

I think their food got decent quality and standard, nothing I can comment about. What I discover is their best and most impressive service is birthday cake party praise. It all started on a lovely Friday night out with my wife. We were having a to birthday celebration that day, since we fly all the way to Japan so we would like to make it special, so we make a note on the online reservation. On that day there were 5 parties having birthday celebration service. We were so exciting about it since this is kind out expectation. Therefore we check up with staff is there any special celebration service for us that evening. It turn out that you need to order a cake ahead of time first, but when we ask where to make such order on their website, none of staff can provide a decent answer for us. But I still like to make my wife have a good time since it’s a high rate restaurant I am hoping they can provide me other opinion. After few conversation with different staff, we will able to get a simple deco plate with slice of cake. This is where I feel the staff is starting avoid our table and afraid us. when the our birthday plate came, there were other table having a birthday praise celebration, but not for us !! At that moment I felt this restaurant’s hospitality Is sallow and empty. I am welling to pay extra for the praise service since it’s just singing and cheering, not a silly cake with go away be-quit attitude your manger gave to me, because of this our night was ruined. It’s worst then a reman restaurant with Michelin mention 2025. Since it’s western style restaurant, I will rate as such.

For day 2, we recommend exploring the northeast side side of town. Start the day off with Expo '70 Commemorative Park, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Japanese Garden. All together, your day would be filled with about 8 hours of non-stop fun.

Expo '70 Commemorative Park, located on the site of the 1970 World's Fair, is home to a museum, a stadium, and the iconic Tower of the Sun created by artist Taro Okamoto. The park offers diverse natural landscapes that change with the seasons, including running streams, ponds, open grassy areas, and woodlands. Visitors can enjoy picturesque sights such as fields of Cosmos and red Kochia grass perfect for photography.
As a fan of 20th Century Boys, this place instantly became a must visit for me when I’m in Osaka. The statue is incredible. I love the striking design and surreal vibe. It really blew my mind seeing it in person. It feels like stepping into a scene from the manga or being transported back to the 70s. Just standing in front of it was such a cool experience. Beyond the statue, the surrounding of the Park is a great place to explore. It is peaceful. When I went, there happened to be a ramen expo and it was amazing and definitely made the trip feel even more worth it. The park also seems to host different seasonal events, so it is a fun place whether you are into the statue, the food, or just want to relax in a nice outdoor setting.

This park is a hidden gem! It's beautifully maintained and full of lush greenery, with a wide variety of trees and plants that make it feel like a natural escape right in the city. Whether you're walking, jogging, or just relaxing, the fresh air and shade from the trees make it an ideal spot. There are plenty of quiet corners to sit and unwind, and the landscaping is clearly well cared for. A perfect place for nature lovers or anyone looking for a peaceful break outdoors.

Personally, I really love this park! The train ride from Osaka city center is pretty convenient. I actually entered through the west side gate by accident, there was no tourist there at all, which made the whole experience feel even more peaceful. The nature is beautiful and super refreshing to be around. I spent about two hours in the National Museum of Ethnology. It's a cool place to explore. After that, I exited from the main gate and got some great photos of the Tower of the Sun. I’d highly recommend visiting if you’re looking for a nice change of pace from the busy city!

After my visit to the 2025 Osaka expo, I decided to visit the expo ‘70 park and that was a good thing! The tower of the sun is truly amazing and inside you can see the tree of life, which is quite impressive, especially when you consider that it was made 55 years ago! The museum is also superb, showing many things from the ‘70 expo, including the original face of the tower of the sun. Originally I had thought that I would spend a couple of hours at the park, but I ended up spending closer to 6 hours.. it was that engrossing! Highly recommended!!

This place was amazing! Super lively and busy but not in a chaotic way. We accidentally went on the same day/weekend as 'Gabu Gabu Festival' but it was still great. A lot of the remnants of the Expo 70 were amazing to see in person and obviously the Tower of the Sun too. Such a magnificent piece!

I visited this place twice, once before I visited Expo 2025 and once after. I had feeling that Expo 70 is thế best Expo with pure desire about human's future. Even though nowaday Expo 70 has a few fragments remains, by visiting Tower of the Sun and Expo 70 pavilion, you could feel that vibe! The park is huge park with many museum inside, you can plan to go here for the whole day and I guess bringing your food, lying down under cherry trees is allowed.

The Tower of the Sun, a peculiar artwork constructed for the 1970 world's fair, is a cultural symbol of Osaka located in Banpaku Kinenkoen Expo Park. The tower's interior is occasionally open to the public and provides an opportunity to witness its restoration and learn about its design and construction history. Moreover, it features a psychedelic portrayal of evolution and life that captivates visitors' attention.
As one of Osaka’s most iconic landmarks, the structure was admired for its bold design and powerful symbolism. The towering presence was felt immediately upon arrival, and the intricate interior exhibition was experienced with fascination. Insight into artist Taro Okamoto’s vision was provided, deepening the appreciation of its historical and cultural significance. The surrounding Expo ’70 Commemorative Park was beautifully maintained, offering a peaceful and scenic setting for exploration. A meaningful encounter with art, history, and nature was thoroughly enjoyed.

If you're planning a trip to Osaka during **Expo 2025**, make sure to carve out time for a visit to the **Tower of the Sun** in **Expo ’70 Commemorative Park**. Designed by avant-garde artist **Tarō Okamoto** for the original **Expo ’70**, this 70-meter-tall sculpture is more than just a landmark—it’s a powerful symbol of Japan’s artistic and cultural legacy. The tower features **three distinct faces**: - The **Golden Mask** at the top represents the future. - The **Face of the Sun** on the front symbolizes the present. - The **Black Sun** on the back reflects the past. Whether you're an art lover, history buff, or just looking for a photogenic spot with depth, the Tower of the Sun delivers. With Expo 2025 reigniting interest in Osaka’s visionary spirit, there’s no better time to visit this iconic monument.
Ken K — Google review
To enter inside make sure to buy your tickets a week in advance as the time slots fill up fast. Limited spacing and you're only allowed to be in the tower exhibit for 30 min. You're only allowed to take photos on the first floor but if you pay an extra fee (I think it was 800yen), you get a rental pouch for your phone allowing you to take photos everywhere. Over all there's not much to see inside. You walk up the tower and on each floor there are some sculptures that have been preserved from the '70 expo. Unless you're a fan of the artist, better suited for taking your kids, almost feels like a children's science museum.
Wesley — Google review
The tower is well worth visit, and I’d recommend you to go inside - there was an exhibition related to evolution of species, which honestly didn’t impress me a lot, just figures of animals like in a children amusement park, standing on branches of the tree of evolution. You go up and around them, ascending from prehistoric to current times. BUT! Upstairs, you also have an inside view of both hands of the tower, it was very impressive, very futuristic and cosmic in a sense. Like you are inside of some alien spacecraft. Highly recommend! We went on Monday afternoon and waited 1 and half hour to go inside, because slots were full. You don’t need to wait a lot in a queue, it’s just slots are for later time, we bought tickets on the spot and went for a walk before returning back for our slot time. The park is beautiful, there is a lot to see! So it didn’t feel like wasting time at all
Katerina — Google review
Nice place especially to spend time relaxing with family. It was my first time visiting, alone, I feel like I had a flash back to 1970 when the expo was there (even I haven’t born yet at that time)
Noriko T — Google review
Giving a 3 stars as not able to went in the Tower and seems is hard to get the reservation. The museums in the park area are some good places to visit.
F W — Google review
This is genuinely one of the coolest structures I’ve ever seen in my life. The craftsmanship and level of detail that went into it is incredible. I’ve seen some negative reviews, but most of them come off as pretty petty and privileged. Not everything should be free, especially something this unique and thoughtfully built. Yes, you do need a reservation. I originally tried to go on a Sunday, but it was fully booked by 1 PM. I went online and reserved a 10 AM slot for two days later. Easy, and totally worth it. You also pay 500 yen to rent a case with a strap if you want to take photos above the first floor. It makes perfect sense, as it prevents people from leaning their phones or cameras over the edge and risking damage to the artwork below. Overall, it was a beautiful experience and absolutely worth the small amount of planning and cost involved.
Jacob — Google review
We visited here on the off chance after seeing this on Google Maps. The park was closed when we visited but it was still nice to wander around what we could and view the tower from the distance. After seeing the photos from the 1970 Expo, I can only imagine how vast and stimulating this site would have been then. I would love to see inside properly and if I am lucky enough to visit Osaka again, I’ll make sure it’s on a day when the park is open.

NIFREL is a captivating family-friendly destination that beautifully blends the wonders of a zoo and an aquarium, making it a must-visit if you're in the Expo 70 area. This modern attraction showcases an impressive array of exotic fish, mammals, and reptiles in stylish settings. Visitors are often drawn to its unique exhibits, including adorable birds and fascinating creatures like mudskippers and archer fish.
I was choosing between this and Osaka Aquarium and glad I went with NIFREL. It’s an interesting aquazoo concept. Every section is beautifully designed and the species displayed are very unique too. My family had fun here. Set aside at least 2 hours to fully enjoy it.
FS L — Google review
I should have done more research before visiting, because I agree with some of the other reviews about some enclosures being far too small for the animals. Based on the concept, I thought that there would be bigger and more open enclosures compared to other similar attractions in Japan. This was true for some animals, but not all. I try to be rational about these kinds of things. For example, just because the white tiger spent a lot of time constantly pacing back and forth on its catwalk, I don't want to immediately assume that that is because of stress, because I did some searching, and many cats just tend to do that anyway. However, what I can say for sure is that the catwalk was too small for the tiger, as it was seemingly designed only for walking through in one direction at a time. When the tiger wanted to pace back and forth, it had to slowly and awkwardly turn around, and often bumped into the glass while doing so. The area below was also not really enough for the tiger to be able to stretch its legs and walk around freely. While watching it, I felt like I was watching someone living in a tiny shoebox apartment with no privacy and little space to spread out and relax, and it made me feel uncomfortable and stressed. As other reviews mentioned, the penguin enclosure also seemed way too small and lacking in enrichment, especially given the amount of penguins in there, just standing there doing nothing. Similarly, the alligator/crocodile box enclosures were also tiny. I had strange mixed feelings, because in the same hall, some of the animals such as the birds and lemurs enjoyed a surprisingly open enclosure. In fact they were able to hop out of the enclosure and walk around right next to the human visitors to get from one place to another. I wouldn't say that their enclosure was fantastic by the animal welfare standards of top zoos, but it was certainly much better, considering the animals' small size. Seeing a relatively comfortable enclosure right past the tiger's cramped box was a strange experience. The staff seemed friendly and knowledgeable, and they do seem to care about the animals' welfare, but I think that there is a limit to what can be accomplished with care and attention when the living spaces are just too small.

Very few foreign tourist here. It is not large aquarium but species is very wide both seaworld and landworld. Very interesting in walking through each zone and gain knowledge of each animals from info card that attached on each glass. This place is very good for kids and family to enjoy time together.

What a peaceful, fun, and engaging experience! Every exhibit is wonderfully laid out and you feel the direction of flow without being rushed or pushed to the next area. The free-wandering animal room was exciting since animals COULD come up to you, but they rarely do so it's still safe. Plenty of employees are around to remind patrons of the rules, and also answer questions if you have them. Definitely recommend if you're in the Osaka area.

ML O — Google review
Little kids seem to love it, but it’s very apparent that the animals are in a lot of distress. Including many of the animals in their tiny aquariums. In their design, they have not looked after the animals at all even the large animals are in incredibly small enclosures, and are visibly distressed. the baby hippo’s swimming area was only as wide as it’s body. It was so pronounced it ruined my whole experience of the place. the Tiger was pacing in distress the whole time and other reviewers say the same so this has been going on a long time Very upsetting that you would sacrifice their health and well-being of animals for human entertainment. I thought humans were smart enough now to stop that kind of abuse. If it was in Australia, I’d be reporting them to all the wildlife protection authorities

Really lovely garden. It is laid out as a set of 'scenes' inspired by Japanese landscapes. The lotus pond is particularly lovely but I think its worth spending at least an hour exploring it all. Even the bathrooms are beautifully integrated into the garden itself. There is a cafe in the middle so you can sit and take in the view.

Beautiful and well maintained garden. Very few people. It's a bit far from Banpaku park main entrance, around 10 to 15 minutes of walk but if you're going here with your car then it's ok. Parking lot is near the entrance of Japanese garden itself.

Conveyor belt sushi restaurant
Sushi restaurant
I recently visited Daiki-suisan kaitenzushi Lalaport-expocity, a conveyor belt sushi restaurant, for the first time. Contrary to popular belief, they don't only serve sushi with raw meats. They offer a variety of sushi options catering to different tastes. One dish that stood out was the grilled shrimp sushi, which was absolutely amazing. I highly recommend this place.
The sashimi here is simply amazing! Portion is quite big and taste very good and fresh. I love all the dishes I have ordered, especially tuna and salmon. I ate so much that I still feel full after hours.
Lok L — Google review
Frankly speaking that their sushi is a bit expensive than other normal convoy belt sushi but their quality of sushi and fish is better than others too. Their services is very quick and supportive. So, the price wil be understandable. Next time when i wanna eat sushi at Lalaport, this place will first come to my mind.
Kanato B — Google review
This is a cut above for conveyor belt sushi. The quality is superior and the cuts of fish are what you expect from good sushi. They cut the fish thicker and the fish just taste fresher. You do pay a little more, but difference is well worth it for the quality you get. I had to remind myself as I was eating some sushi that I wasn't at an high-end expensive sushi restaurant. I'll eat here or at one of their other locations if I want superior conveyor belt sushi.

When I looked at the name on the signboard, I knew that the sushi here had to be good, and I was right. Oh boy, whether the sushi is on the conveyor belt or served to you by a waiter, it tasted so good and so fresh. I wish I had the stomach space to eat more. I also ordered a soft-serve ice cream, which was just as good, and I wished I could have eaten one whole cup by myself, but I was already too full from eating all that fresh and delicious sushi. So if you happen to be in the area, please drop by to gorge yourself today. You won't regret it. Yummy, yummy!

A sushi restaurant at the Lalaport mall in Banpaku-kinen Kouen. At peak hours the wait was almost an hour so make sure to get a ticket beforehand then check the queue status via the ticket QR code. But I felt the wait was not worth it. The service was so-so and so was the food itself. At least they have a scanning feature now with their plates so they don’t have to count manually. They gave me a discount coupon but I don’t think I will go back for a while.

it was my first time there. may be everyone think that they serve sushi with raw meats but it's not same for this. they make different types of sushi for every taste and u can find your own . the one with grilled shrimp was AMAZİNG. I definitely recommend this place.

It was my first time eating sushi like this, so I really enjoyed the place, it was tasty and if you don't see what you want to eat on the table they give you the menu, the only thing is that on weekends they have a lot of people waiting to get inside

Fast food restaurant
Kua Aina Sandwich Shop is a modern fast-food joint with a Hawaiian twist, offering an array of burgers, sandwiches, and salads. Customers can customize their burgers from the bun to the toppings and cheese selection. While some find it slightly pricier than typical fast-food chains, many appreciate the quality and variety of menu options available. The patties are noted for their juicy, flavorful American-style taste, cooked to perfection with a hint of pink in the middle.
This place does amazing burgers, the best that I have ever had in japan! It’s not too expensive and they have a lot of choice and a variety of set menu options too! You basically build your burger here even after you choose which you want, starting from the burger bun going through toppings and even deciding what type of cheese you want! It’s so tasty and affordable too, it’s a little more expensive than a McDonald’s but you pay for quality in this case. I think the meal set me back just under ¥1400, which is reasonable! Not only do they have burgers but they have amazing desserts too! My friend had some pancakes with cream and they were delicious. Check this place out!

The burgers here are good, but I found a long hair in my fries. That was pretty gross. When I returned the tray, I noticed that not all of the staff that were cooking were wearing hair nets.

¥2200 for a plate of caesar salad, a burger, and popcorn shrimp. Too pricey. The burger was a little bit too salty and the staff was not friendly.
Ahy Y — Google review
Like others have said, it's definitely pricey for a burger here. That being said, the patty here is the closest to an American flavor that I've had in Japan so far. It was cooked medium with a little pink in the middle, and it was juicy and flavorful. Too often hamburgers in Japan seem to be cooked a little too well. I wish it came with more fries, but overall I was very happy with the meal. One star off because the food court is insanely busy and parking at Expo City is ridiculously expensive (5000 yen??? Seriously???).
Gregory T — Google review
Stood in line for 10 minutes just to be told the lunch menu I scanned at their own line did not apply to their store. The cashier didn't even know the menu was there. Get it together! FYI there's a 500 yen beef curry place Takure at the same food court.

(Translated by Google) Visited on September 9th at 2 PM Since it was a weekday during the day, the food court was empty and I was able to enjoy a leisurely meal. 🥯 Acai Bowl and Brulee Pancakes The acai bowl was ice cold, perfect for this time of year, and the taste was just as good as the one I had in Hawaii. I would have preferred a little more honey. The pancakes were rich and moist, melting in my mouth. I'll definitely come back! Panasonic Stadium Suita, the modern home of Gamba Osaka, offers an unforgettable experience for soccer fans. This stadium is designed to bring spectators closer to the action, fostering a vibrant atmosphere that energizes both players and supporters alike. During my visit in late March for a thrilling local derby against Cerezo Osaka in the Levain Cup, I was captivated by the electric ambiance created by 26,000 passionate fans.
Amazing atmosphere to watch a football match. The fans had such a lot of energy and luckily Osaka won!! The area we sat was full of other tourists so was not as loud or lively as other areas. The food was good - we had burgers.

Fantastic experience coming here.. this is a proper football ground with a very lively and friendly group of supporters… tho the team on the pitch were having a bad day, the supporters remained in full voice until the final whistle, even when we were at 0-5.. no one left early, the songs and chants were strong all the way through.. When I bought tickets online, a prompt asked “sit with fans” or “sit closer to players”, as well as some other options… if you select “fans” you will be behind the goal with the kind-of ultras.. you likely will be on your feet for the entire match and your hands may be a bit swollen by the end from clapping.. nothing at all unsafe or unsavory about this section, unlike some other parts of the world.. didn’t see any drinking and everyone was very well mannered.. If sitting with the fans, come early as the seating isn’t reserved and the great vibe starts well before kickoff anyway… give yourself time as you will need to walk 20 minutes or so from the station to the stadium. But all good, would happily recommend to any football fans or anyone interested in the experience here

I had a really great experience watching a gamba osaka game here. People where so friendly, as a came alone, i quickly made some friends who invited me to stand with them on the fans stand. A crazy and cool experience, along as you clap and jump along on the songs. I have never seen so clean toilets and stands on any football stadium in my life. And i have been to many. A 5 star experience for every football fan out there.. FORZA GAMBA

Great stadium with a great atmosphere. Lots of food trucks and beer outside the stadium and food stalls inside the stadium. Seats are relatively comfy for a stadium, and the views were great. Only issue was the food stalls lines were very long inside. Also, if you're coming from osaka or kyoto, just remember Gamba's stadium is a bit of a trek and there are not a lot of trains later at night, so plan well.

The National Museum of Ethnology is an ambitious showcase of world cultures, offering a diverse array of traditional artifacts like masks, textiles, and pottery alongside unique items such as Ghanaian barbershop signboards and Bollywood movie posters. The museum also features exhibits on Okinawan history and Japan's indigenous Ainu culture. Visitors can enjoy the music room where global street performances can be summoned via a touch panel. English signage is available throughout the museum, with additional detail provided by audio guides.
The National Museum of Ethnology in Osaka, known as Minpaku, offers a fascinating exploration of cultures from around the world. The exhibits feature artifacts, clothing, tools, and music from various regions, providing deep insights into human history and cultural diversity. One of the highlights is the interactive displays and the chance to experience global cultures through videos, audio, and hands-on activities. The spacious and well-curated galleries make it a great place to learn and reflect. Located in Expo Park, the museum is a must-visit for anyone interested in anthropology, history, and world cultures. Perfect for families, students, and curious minds!

Absolutely loved the museum. It has very detailed exhibitions for different regions, including Australia and Oceania, Americas, Africa, and all of Asia. Many regions include a real size models of the houses and the clothing, etc. I spent there around five hours and would be happy to spend even more, but in case if you just walk through without much stopping, you can finish within 1.5-2 hours easily. The entrance is very cheap (a few hundred yen), but the content is truly worth it. The descriptions of the cultures are very precise and detailed, I think it's because it is associated with the Graduate school of Ethnology. There were not many visitors, and overall it was an amazing experience, so if you are into ethnology, I would definitely recommend to visit.

A visit to the National Museum of Ethnology was met with both fascination and respect for the diversity of human cultures. The exhibits were thoughtfully curated, showcasing artifacts, textiles, tools, and multimedia displays from around the world. A strong sense of cultural richness and interconnectedness was conveyed through each section. The layout allowed for smooth navigation, and information was made accessible through multilingual descriptions. Time passed quickly as one was immersed in the stories and traditions of various civilizations. A deeply educational and enriching experience was enjoyed, making this museum a true cultural gem within Osaka.

If you’re interested in exploring different cultures and communities from around the globe, this museum in Osaka/Kyoto is definitely a must-see! With a diverse array of artefacts and items, it offers a lot to take in—from Asia to the Americas. Personally, I found the Asian section particularly captivating, filled with traditional instruments, houses, and costumes that stood out. However, I couldn't help but notice that this section seems to be represented more heavily than others. As a result, the European portion felt sparse and somewhat random, lacking a genuine reflection of European traditions and culture. This is why I am giving the museum a rating of 4 out of 5 instead of a perfect 5. I spent about 2.5 hours in the museum, but I could have easily lingered longer if I had the time. I’d definitely love to return, but I hope they consider adding more European exhibits to give it a more balanced representation! Additionally, I appreciated the Canadian totem poles displayed both inside and outside the museum—they were a great touch.

The Redhorse Osaka Wheel is a stunning 123-meter-high Ferris wheel that offers breathtaking panoramic views of the sprawling cityscape of Osaka and its surrounding Keihanshin metropolitan area. Nestled on a hill within the Lalaport Expo Park, this impressive attraction features spacious glass-bottomed gondolas that provide an exhilarating perspective as you ascend high above the urban landscape.
Tallest Ferris wheel in Japan providing panoramic views of the OSAKA EXPO 70 site. We didn't originally plan to come, but the EXPO sure was closed due to a Summer Sonic music festival. There was no line to get in, price was very reasonable. IIRC we paid a little under 1600 YEN per person including s beer! Oh and the cabins are air conditioned!
Ondrej D — Google review
Recently we visited this Ferris Wheel during a winter event. The tickets were reasonably priced. If you choose to come here during an event such as the "Kotatsu/Oden" experience, I would suggest two rounds as the wheel doesn't stop at any point even on entry and exit.

This is a HUGE Ferris wheel! It was quite the view from the top as you could see for miles in all directions. Another good part about it is the fact that it was air conditioned. There is a place where you can buy drinks and take them with you as they have cup holders in the cars. There was nobody in line and we just walked in. The staff were very friendly and helpful. If you are in the expo 70 area you have to try this if you want a great view of Osaka

We took a ride on the Redhorse Osaka Wheel during Golden Week, and it turned out to be a lovely surprise! Despite the holiday crowd, the queue was very manageable—we booked online in advance, which helped us skip the line and head straight to the fun. We picked the Sakura-themed cabin, and it was adorable! There are actually several themed options available—some with karaoke, others with escape room games, and more. Such a fun way to personalize your ride! The entire ride lasted around 20 minutes, which felt just right. We went at 4 p.m., when the weather was perfect—bright but not too hot, and just right for photos. Some may find the themed cabin decor slightly obstructs the view, but it also adds to the mood, especially if you’re on a romantic couple trip. Totally worth it for the vibes! Drinks are included with the ticket—we tried both matcha and strawberry. They’re on the milky side, and sipping on a cold drink while enjoying a bird’s-eye view of Osaka made the whole experience feel extra special. ⸻ Booking Tip: While platforms like Trip.com, KKday, or Klook are great for quick bookings, they usually only offer standard cabins. If you want to try the special themed cabins, it’s best to book directly on the Redhorse official website. Heads up—it’s mostly in Japanese, so you might need to use Google Translate and go through a few more steps, but it’s totally worth it!

A nice overview of Osaka. Since it is just right beside the Santa Maria cruise, we came right over after the cruise to board the ferris wheel. According to them, this is the largest ferris wheel in the world. The right itself was great. Once you reach the peak, you can have an amazing view of the entire city. We went at night and the view was marvellous.

One day, I'll finally experience this massive ferris wheel that stands over Lalaport Expo Park here in Suita, Osaka. On my 2nd visit here, again, I did not have enough time to ride the wheel, but next time, I will surely do it when i visit Expo City again.

Great views are offered on this wheel 1000yen and 18 minutes, the staff are very lively, friendly and extremely polite. We really enjoyed this ride and took lots of photographs, sadly though I should have bought a beer and taken it with me. If you get a chance to ride this do so, it’s nowhere near the ridiculous price that is charged to ride on the London Eye.

Restaurant chain known for its buckets of fried chicken, plus combo meals & sides.
There’s just something special about KFC in Japan—but when it’s a buffet, it hits on a whole different level. Two styles of chicken to choose from—Original and the legendary ‘Country Style’—that’s when the magic really happens. Add in a light curry soup that ties it all together, and you’ve got perfection on a plate. Our KFC buffet experience in Osaka? Out of this world… pure food heaven. 🤤😋 Staff and service was excellent as always as we made it in 2hrs before closing and there was only a few peeps around this busy mall. Worth the trip if you're in this area looking for some fried chicken.

There's a ticketing system available for the queue. They do put a cut off for lunch. The next cycle will be for dinner (4PM) and the ticketing system is available around 3PM. A staff will call the number once a table becomes available. The white pasta (carbonara?) was delicious! Plain rice and fried rice are available. Lasagna was added to the variety of food when we were about to leave (and was already full). The staff were accomodating and efficient with ushering guests, cleaning, and refilling the food. The 1hr travel from Dotonbori was worth it. 🤤 The mall itself is a nice place to explore! ❤️

I was excited to try an all-you-can-eat KFC since that’s not available in the States. It’s on the pricier side for AYCE, and the options were a bit disappointing. There was only one type of chicken but in different parts like drumsticks, wings, and thighs. I found the drumsticks to be the most flavorful, and the nuggets were surprisingly tasty too. The side dishes were unique, including various pastas, rice, pizza, sausages, soup, curry, and more. The biggest downside was how long it took to refill items, and they would run out quickly once placed out. Overall, it’s a nice spot for a one-time visit.

Went for Christmas lunch, the buffet price was about 2400 yen per adult. There is usually a wait since the buffet has limited seating and the food area can get complicated to navigate since it's cramped. You get 80 minutes of eating time and that time goes by fast when you're waiting for people in line getting their food or that one perfect looking piece of fried chicken. Their side dishes (pasta and mash potatoes) go out quick and come out with new batches on every other new batch. Was bummed out there were no Mac and cheese. Food had little seasoning so some condiments would have helped... overall food was emotes enjoyable

The first KFC buffet located at Expo City, Osaka. Nearest station Osaka Monorail, Bampaku - Kinen koen station. The place is immaculate and clean. Nice relax vibe. Now to the food specially the chicken is 'Finger Lickin Dry' yes thats right the chickens are dry! It doesn' taste like a-la carte KFC. Nice crispy oily. Here they are like old overnight chicken re-heated most probably microwave and walah KFC chicken. It may be overnight chickens from KFCs around Osaka brought here. As for the rest they are ok. Tasteless pastas. No salt or pepper anywhere to be found. Best thing here is the potato wedges. KFC Japan for some reason don't have French Fries, yes whole of Japan. I live in Japan so I can honestly say this KFC buffet is nothing special. The chicken are so dry that I only ate 2 piece. It was tasteless. No sauce. No salt. No ketchups. No pepper. Although please come and try it out. Expo City itself is a good place to visit.

J.S. Burgers Cafe LaLaport EXPOCITY is a popular spot for children and newcomers alike, offering delicious burgers and friendly service. While the fries may not be exceptional, the overall experience is still satisfactory. The lunch menu caters to women with its generous offerings of two smaller burgers, fries, salad bar access, a drink, and ice cream - a hit among wives and girls.
Highly recommend the Grilled Mushroom! One of the better burgers I had while in Osaka. Near Sakura Expo 2025 too

My experience dined tonight was a bit disappointing. Firstly, the burger sauce was a bit too complicated for my taste. It had too many flavors going on, which made it difficult to truly enjoy the taste of the burger itself. Sometimes, simplicity can be key when it comes to sauces. Secondly, the meat lacked temperature. It wasn't served hot, which affected the overall dining experience. A warm and juicy burger can make all the difference in terms of taste and satisfaction. Overall, I left the restaurant feeling a bit let down. The complex burger sauce and lukewarm meat were not what I was expecting. I hope the restaurant takes these points into consideration to improve the quality of their dishes.

Gigantic burger restaurant. I think it’s a popular place since we have to wait for a while before being called into our table. I went here with 2 other friends. We quickly order our food because it’s a bustling lunch time on a weekend. However, it takes a lot of time for our burgers to come. The taste was amazing though, and the portion makes the wait and price worth it. Credit card and QR code payment are acceptable. My only notes is that if you’re in a hurry, you better off looking for second option.

The sandwiches were good but thought they had too much mustard inside. The burger had a plain taste and thought something was missing. The all-you-can-eat salad was tasty and good for an appetizer. The price was ok.

J.S. Foodies is a burger restaurant located right outside the Expo Commemorative Park inside the mall. They try hard to make you feel like you're dining inside a western shop (along with some higher western prices than I'd like to admit). My friends and I grabbed dinner here after an event and they had a pretty large selection of American burgers and fries. They surprisingly had a vegan option that was labeled on the menu, including its own green burger patty. I went with the vegan burger and was honestly shocked at what I received. What I thought was a green burger patty ended up being half an avocado with black sesame sprinkled on. Sandwiched between the avocado was a grilled eggplant, red onions, and lettuce. I was shocked that my burger ended up really being a salad held together by a stick. There was no way of eating the burger without breaking it up and eating it like a salad. The avocado tasted like it was frozen and definitely unripe, so I had to eat it with the rest of the greens on my plate. I appreciate the effort for a veggie burger but this was surpringly not it for me.

First time eating here but it's a regular for my kids. The burgers are great. Not impressed with the fries but overall pretty good. The service is friendly. They do have a lady's set for lunch which gives you 2 smaller burgers of your choice, fries, salad bar, drink and ice cream... my wife and girls liked that! Came back tried the fish & chips...not impressed... stay with the burgers!

Such a disappointment. The fries were super dry/salty and sad looking! The bacon cheese burger was not fresh, it took time to prepare but came out cold. Should have been alerted by an empty restaurant. My friend enjoyed hers in Kyoto though, so might be due to an individual cook.

Hawaiian restaurant
Eggs ’n Things ららぽーとEXPOCITY店 offers a delightful dining experience with friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. The menu features tasty burgers, omelets, and pancakes meant for sharing. While the wait times can be long, especially during weekends and lunch hours, the food is generally good with generous portions of fresh fries. Some patrons found certain meats too salty or tasteless, but overall it's a great spot for breakfast foods.
Being from Hawaii this was a taste of home and it didn't disappoint. Be prepared for a wait, in the sun, but that was my last complaint about the experience. The Portuguese Sausage/Cheese omelette was similar to the Hawaii one (in Hawaii it would be thicker) with the side of pancakes full size - here it is smaller size pancakes. But all three syrups were delicious and my wife enjoyed her Poke. Don't ask if it is authentic, but it wasn't avocado and edamame, so it was as close as we're getting sometimes. The kids got a kid;s meal, and the whole thing probably came out cheaper than it would have in Hawaii actually. It was great. If there was a way to cut the line I would go much more frequently - I also want to try the monthly flavors, which look amazing.

Hawaiian-style café with good expectations, but unfortunately the experience was not as I had hoped. The food did not live up to what the concept promises, and the atmosphere was uncomfortably cold — the windows looked as if we were inside a freezer. With some adjustments to the temperature and more care with the menu, the experience could become much more enjoyable.

Nice restaurant reminding my experience in Hawaii with Hawaiian beer. Several option for pancake lover. We ordered steak which nice scramble eggs and mashed potato. Steak served at the right medium with yummy potato. Pancake is nice with whipping cream tower. I am sure you will like it.

The staff was very friendly. The food was good but some meats were too salty and some were tasteless. The portion of fresh fries was big. The taste of the omelet had almost no taste.

Got the eggs benedict with smoked salmon and it was nice, although I'd have liked a bit more salmon and seasoning. The egg was a little bland/needed salt. But the staff and atmosphere would make me want to go back! Try the coconut sauce that's on the table with your pancakes. It's to die for!!
Nadeen E — Google review
We waited in line for around 30 minutes before we got to order and get a seat. It was okay. We ordered banana macadamia nut pancakes and banana waffles. The pancakes were difficult to cut and very chewy. The waffles were very rigid and tough to cut. Neither were worth the price we paid. If your looking for good pancakes this is not the place.

Be prepared to wait minimum 50 minutes (like me) in order to get inside. Staff is giving away menus while in queue, which save a lot of time since you know what you want right when you get in. Service : fast✅️ Food : very tasty ✅️

Ordered a Mango and Passionfruit Lemonade. They filled up half the drink with ice. Photo attached so you can see the drink without ice. What a joke.

Day 4

Keep it simple
For day 4, these 2 places should be enough to fill your day with something exciting to do in Suita. Start the day with Asahi Beer Museum and make your way through the city to get to CARINO ESAKA. This should take about 6 hours of your day.

The Asahi Beer Museum in Osaka offers an immersive tour of the brewery's history and beer-making process, along with educational audio tours that culminate in a beer tasting experience. The museum features exhibits dedicated to Asahi's renowned brand and breweries. The factory tour has been recently renovated to include techy and cool elements such as VR experiences, projections, and a simulated ride with rumbling chairs.
We had so much fun visiting this museum! Admittedly, I didn’t do much research before coming here (I am more of a”just figure it out when you get there” tourist). It cost ¥1000 per adult. The museum isn’t the kind where you freely wander—it’s a guided tour with some videos. For those that don’t know Japanese, you’ll need to download their app to get audio guidance. The tour guide will prompt you in English to go to the correct audio file for each section. If traveling with a group or partner, I recommend wireless earbuds. At the end, you get a souvenir glass, 2 tastings, and a chance at the gift shop! This tour was definitely worth it, in my opinion. They have some cool VR videos as well. Ms. Inoue was our tour guide. 井上さん、案内してくれてありがとうございます!

Underrated museum. It was a fun visit to the museum. With 1000 yen ticket price, you can drink 2 type of beers and receive a glass cup as souvenir. The staffs were friendly. Truly recommend to everyone. But this musuem is visited by appointment only. You can reserve the tickets via online

We had a lot of fun coming here. 2,000 yen for 2 people which includes a tour & 2 glasses of beers each - bargain. The tour is in Japanese but they have an app for English speakers too. Easy, fun, would recommend. You don’t get much time at the end to drink your 2 drinks (20 minutes only). Must book in advance, we called about a month before and got a booking.

Had an excellent time in Suita at the first ever Asahi Brewery. The museum tour was excellent and it was led by the number 1 tour guide, Fukuda! She was polite, helpful and thorough. At the end of the tour, those who had wristbands were able to sample two free beers. Asahi Black was my favorite. And when you leave, they no longer give you a glass, but instead we received a stainless steel cup with Asahi logo. Overall a great experience. I would recommend it to any beer lover. It's about a 40 minute metro ride north from Dotonbori and a couple minutes walk. Well worth the 1000 yen entrance fee. Please make reservations ahead of time on the website or by calling. If you're traveling solo, you can try to call same day as me to make a reservation. Sometimes it's easier to accommodate one person. Otherwise, I would not recommend showing up without a reservation because you have to go past a guard post first before reaching the museum.

I love a brewery tour and this one was a blast. ¥1000 per person for an hour and a half tour that includes two tastings and a souvenir glass at the end. Audio tour is entirely in Japanese but they guide you through downloading an app so you can listen along. Video portions have English subtitles. There's also Asahi gacha for anyone into that
Shannon R — Google review
Absolutely a "must do" while in Osaka. To the Asahi staff, thank you for the phenomenal tour experience. It was really interesting to see the manufacturing process in operation. Side note: You must make reservations in advance. We called on the day of the visit, and they graciously squeezed us in although they were completely booked up.
John P — Google review
Excellent brewery tour. There's an app that English/Korean/Chinese speakers can use to listen to the tour at key points and Google translate worked well to hear the guides loudspeaker at other points. The value for money is excellent. 1000 Yen (APPX £5 at time of review) gets a 90 minute tour that includes VR, 4D show, 25 minute tasting session that gets you 2 drinks and a free Asahi Glass. The gift shop is very good value and the stuff sold there appears to be very high quality. Entry to the museum is via the North West entrance (Opposite the Asahi guest house) and you must visit the guard post prior to entering.

Meriken-ya is a delightful udon spot that promises a unique dining experience. The chewy and delicious udon noodles are the star of the show, served in a cozy setting with FM radio tunes playing softly in the background. With four table seats and counter spots for solo diners, it’s perfect for both quick bites and leisurely meals.

I wanted to conquer 5 types, but I was disappointed that I couldn't. Even if it's not all-you-can-eat, I still want to go there. The bukkake also comes with grated grater, which is a great deal. The noodles are hard rather than chewy. I'm at a loss for words when I think this is 820 yen. The rape blossom tempura had a thick coating and was greasy. The stems are bitter and delicious. (Translated by Google) I remember visiting Takatsuki's store once many years ago. Nigiri Chojiro is a famous restaurant with many stores. However, this Suita Kamiyamate store... I would like to call this a top-notch restaurant disguised as a conveyor belt sushi restaurant. There are several options for the lunch set menu. Naturally, the better the ingredients for nigiri sushi, the more expensive it will be. There is a sushi chef behind the counter, who holds the sushi in one hand and rolls it between three fingers to get a rusty texture, then tops it with toppings, and holds it in much the same way as us...the sushi chef. The sushi is delicious at the level of a sushi restaurant. The toppings were fresh, and the medium fatty tuna and the red meat were bigeye tuna. This store doesn't stop there. First of all, it's red. The delicious flavor of the soup stock and the richness of the Hatcho miso... it's perfect. Chawanmushi decorated with rape blossoms that decorate the season. A little bit of yuzu peel is added to give it a nice aroma, and inside there are small pieces of candied herring, ginkgo nuts, small shrimp, kamaboko fish paste, etc...The taste of the dough with the soup stock also passes the test. A light mayonnaise salad in a small bowl. For example, if you put pieces of fish in this, it becomes a marinade. Although it's not, it has a great balance of flavors, and the crunchy lettuce and paprika give it a nice crunch and freshness. The last thing I told the woman at the store. So to speak, this is also a Japanese restaurant. I don't know if it's fair to say, but it's on par with Kisoji. Conveyor belt sushi is just a decoration. A means of attracting many customers by making people aware of their common sense. However, once you enter and try the food, you will find that it is a fine Japanese restaurant. Impressions from a chef's perspective. After all, there is a big difference in any store depending on whether or not there are craftsmen. The lunch set menu I ate today was nigiri sushi ``Take''. Considering the taste and the perfection of all the dishes, including the desserts, it would cost around 3,000 yen in the city. The price is about ¥1600 including tax. People describe stores like this as ``satisfying''. There are not many stores that can enrich your soul. I found a really wonderful store.

(Translated by Google) Although it is a conveyor belt sushi restaurant, unlike the so-called conveyor belt sushi restaurants, the price range is a little high, but you will be satisfied with both the size and taste. During core times such as graduation ceremonies, Obon holidays, and New Year's holidays, you may have to wait, but most of the time it is about 30 minutes to 1 hour. There's usually not much waiting time, so it's not stressful. The seats away from the board area are for ordering using a tablet, so those who wish to order by talking to the board staff are limited to seats at the counter or at a table next to the board area. The store manager's recommendations change every season, so I'm looking forward to tasting the differences from last time, so I haven't gotten bored of it so far. There are a variety of alcoholic beverages, including beer, sake, and chuhai, but since it's a sushi restaurant, there aren't that many options. And, it is a charm that the amount changes depending on the part-time worker. The store is spacious and strollers can be placed next to the seats, so there are many customers with children, making it a lively store.

(Translated by Google) We went for dinner. It's a pricey conveyor-belt sushi restaurant, but the toppings and rice were large, and the food was consistently delicious. However! Perhaps because of the controversy over annoying conveyor-belt sushi videos, the sushi lane at the counter was rotating, but it just kept moving. My order on the touchscreen never came down the lane, and instead, they handed it to me directly, saying, "Sorry to keep you waiting!" I guess it was a last resort, but it was a little disappointing... Finally, I ordered seasonal desserts, but they were all mango-related, which was a shame (💧 ̅᷄꒫ ̅᷅) I guess some people don't like mangoes 🥹 If they had the standard strawberry 🍓 and chocolate desserts, I'd be so happy ⸜(*ˊᗜˋ*)⸝! So, what a thing to do! It's an insult not only to the restaurant that was inconvenienced, but to all conveyor-belt sushi restaurants! You shattered everyone's dreams... Of course you should pay compensation!! It's the price you pay for your foolish actions! Isn't this a little too little!! You should realize that this is a crime that you can't atone for even in your lifetime!
