Mihama American Village is a vibrant outdoor shopping and entertainment hub that captures the essence of the West Coast of the United States right in Okinawa. Established in 1998, this expansive complex spans an area comparable to five Tokyo Domes and features over 130 diverse shops, restaurants, and attractions. The iconic Ferris wheel serves as a landmark for visitors exploring Depot Island, where you can find everything from trendy clothing to unique imported goods at American Depot.
Tourists from all countries enjoy AV. Great beach and atmosphere. Family-friendly, food and dessert options. A ton of shops to peruse. Great vibe. Upbeat areas, calm areas. Something for everyone. And the sunsets are spectacular!

We loved the American Village, and wish we had stayed there. We traveled approx 30 mins, 3 nights in a row. The village had a great vibe, with lots of people, a beach, beach paths, lots of shops, and (most importantly for us) many many restaurants, food trucks etc, many that catered for gluten free/coeliac/celiac dietary needs. The lights, brightly coloured buildings and fireworks were beautiful.
The American Village had the energy we craved, whilst staying at a very remote, and rule-filled resort. 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
A fun and lively place with a unique mix of Japanese and American vibes. Lots of restaurants, shops, and lights — especially beautiful in the evening. It feels modern and a bit artificial, but still charming in its own way. Perfect for a walk, taking photos, and enjoying the seaside atmosphere. Not really a place for deep culture, but great for entertainment and good energy.
Love all about here so much. Great memory with this place, so colorful amd look very lifely vibe. All shops, cafe and resturants look very nice. Pork Tamako amd Blue Seal ice cream are so good. And I do love Zhuvago cafe a lot, Tramisu amd coffee there were very delicious. Tones of sourvinors there with very good price. And I do love a shop with Christmas Ornaments. I visited there in the morning with less people.
As the name is stating, it’s like you are in Hawaii and Las Vegas combined. Thus, If you enjoy the American vipe, you will feel it there.
Many US people are living there and you will see them around.
Very nice shows and great food. Eat from the restaurant that are open inside the market, they are delicious.
The beach are fun, my kids enjoyed it. But try not to go on the weekend as it will be crowded with teenagers.
The American Village in Okinawa is an absolute favorite spot! 🌅 The atmosphere is unique – a perfect blend of Japanese calm and American style. There are plenty of great restaurants, cafés, and shops, and the sunset by the sea is simply breathtaking. Especially in the evening, when everything lights up in vibrant colors, the vibe is amazing. Everything is clean, modern, and beautifully designed. Highly recommended – definitely five stars!
We visited American Village on a Saturday evening and absolutely loved it. The place is so lively and full of happy vibes. The buildings really give off a true American feel. This is one of the main reasons I would love to come back to Okinawa!
Interesting place. Nice promenade and beach, mall and lot of different shops and restaurants and it's all really close to each other. Time to time there is a military airplane flying around as it's very close to the airport. But definitely worth a visit

Nestled in the heart of Okinawa, Futenma Shrine is a captivating Shinto shrine that draws both locals and travelers alike. This serene spot not only offers a glimpse into traditional Japanese spirituality but also features an intriguing cave adorned with stunning stalactites. Visitors can embark on guided tours of the cave, which depart every 20 minutes; just remember to sign up beforehand at the designated area.
This is one of the most beautiful shrines in Okinawa and I highly recommend exploring it.
Here besides praying you can also visit a small cave with another altar that is meant for the two Kami (Gods) that reside in the grounds. You only need to tell the nuns at the counter and they will add you to a list and show you the cave for free. It does not have lots of room to explore, but the altar is impressive and so are the stalactites and stalagmites in the cave. No pictures are allowed in the cave.

The cave shrine is really cool, very small but magnificent in its appeal.
If you want to see the cave shrine you must the staff in the administration window and they'll ask you to wait in the room through the sliding door right next to the administration window.
Write your name, country of origin and number of people in your group in the ledger to the left.
The time for the next viewing & offering will be next to the ledger.
The main worship room/hall is regularly performing blessings and worship so please be quiet when looking around the place.
Too early for closing the Underground Shrine at 5 pm. Very hard to get a parking place ! Very crowded to buy Amulet. Too many people here
Futenma shrine, a popular shrine in Futenma area of the Okinawa, with lots of visitors in weekend. It was believed to be built around in 1440 to 1450, in the Ryukyu kingdom period. It is possible that it is one of the oldest Shinto Shrines in Okinawa, and visitors may see its history from its old wooden building structure.
Most visitors and worshippers would worship at above-ground Shinto shrine, but it also has underground cave which also has worship shrine/hall. Visitors can make on-site applications for entering the under-ground worship shrine, and Shrine's clergy would lead visitors or worshippers to underground cave every 20 minutes. It appears that, in winter season, the under-ground visit is generally limited to the morning hours.
The Shrine does hold new year celebration and other religious festivals which are also helpful for the Shrine's financing, in addition to funding from having baby photos and other kid growing celebration to be held in Shrine.
Although shrine has two parking spots, they are often fully occupied in holiday and in weekend.
Jan2025: I had to park on side of the road and walk up. The line to get in was long.
Aug2024 visit: sad to see their year of the dragon painting wasn't up. Still a beautiful shrine to visit.

A beautiful experience, wonderful to see such preserved history. Many worship ceremonies took place as we walked around. Do the cave tour, you will not be disappointed!

Neat shrine with a cave that is free to visit. The sign-up sheet for the cave tour is in a room on the other side of the sign that tells you that signing up is required (look to your right to see the sliding door). Tours are supposed to leave every 20 minutes.
Parking is free and to the right of the shrine up a narrow road. Multiple tiers are available so there should be space. There is no cost to the shrine or the cave. No photos allowed in the cave - please be respectful. I appreciate that you can walk along the cave, inches from stalagmites, and not see any initials carved into them or other defacement.

Nestled along the west coast of Ginowan, this park features expansive multi-use fields perfect for soccer or kite flying, as well as wide pathways ideal for biking with family. Visitors can enjoy leisurely strolls while admiring various art installations scattered throughout the area, including a quirky Pokémon manhole cover that adds a fun touch.
Food flea market! This was super awesome and great vibes. The day was ratherhot bit many trees for shade. Id go back to the park just to lax and chill.

If you're planning to go - early bird gets the worm! We arrived around 4PM and seemed missing out on most of the fun stuff. Most gacha machines were already sold out too! They had a merchandise booth set up, but wish we'd come earlier to catch all the events.
Definitely recommend getting there in the morning if you're a serious fan!
Small man-made beach with coarse sand and clear, beautiful water. Was there barely half hour when the Emergency alert sounded for tsunami. Nevertheless, it was blazing hot with the summer heat. Not a beach lover so ain’t my favourite go-to place.
During our recent visit to Ginowan Seaside Park in Okinawa, we had an unforgettable experience with our girls, especially our one-year-old daughter. The park, known for its beachfront setting, multi-use field, exercise equipment, and scenic paths, truly comes alive in the summertime.
We chose to go during twilight, which proved to be an excellent decision. The cooler evening air made it comfortable for a walk, and the sunset over the ocean created a beautiful backdrop. Despite the number of people present, the atmosphere was remarkably peaceful, allowing us to enjoy our family time without feeling overcrowded.
Our one-year-old daughter had a blast exploring the park. Watching her take her tiny steps along the well-maintained paths, her joy was infectious. The expansive grassy areas provided plenty of space for her to roam freely, and she was delighted by the gentle breeze and the sound of the waves crashing nearby.
The park's facilities were also impressive. The exercise equipment and multi-use fields were well-maintained and popular among visitors. It was nice to see a diverse mix of people engaging in various activities, from jogging to playing sports, all while respecting each other's space.
Overall, Ginowan Seaside Park offered the perfect blend of nature and recreation, making it an ideal spot for families, especially with young children. We left with a sense of contentment, having spent quality time together in such a picturesque and serene environment. We highly recommend this park to anyone looking to enjoy a peaceful and enjoyable outing in Okinawa.
Eh. Tourist spot. I’m naturally more drawn to Onna, Nago NORTH side! But here we are! Not too bad! Lifeguards on duty. Busy summer days for sure!
We would naturally avoid spots like this but we didn’t want to go too far.
Great park to bring the kids. Large fields for playing soccer or flying a kite. Wide pathways for riding bicycles with the little ones. Tropical beach is next to the park so you can cool off in the ocean. Public restrooms available and vending machines located throughout the park. Plenty of parking depending on the time of day and year.
Great park for various activities! Connected to a beach too! Enjoyed walking around and checking out the various art works in the park. There is a pokemon manhole cover in the park. Lots of various trails to get a good exercise in!

Camp season and batting in professional baseball. Coco also has a large facility and a free parking lot. If it had been sunny, it would have been even more beautiful.

King Tacos is a charming little eatery that boasts a nostalgic vibe with its retro decor and convenient takeout window. Renowned for serving some of the best taco rice in Okinawa, this tiny spot offers generous portions at incredibly affordable prices. The taco rice is generously topped with cheese, making it a standout dish that keeps patrons coming back for more. While the seating is limited to just three tables, the efficient and friendly staff ensure quick service, especially during busy lunch hours.
Hands down the best taco rice in Okinawa. The price is amazingly cheap, especially considering the amount of food. They load the tacorice with cheese, much more than any other restaurant does. And they've got great cheeseburgers to top it off. The place is small (only 3 tables for 4) but it's worth it! You can take out also.

This is one of the old school places, which is on the market for a long time.
Very tasty food, efficient and friendly stuff makes sure that the waiting time is not too long. But lunch times can be busy and few tables inside are almost always full.
Here is famous for “TACORICE”. Nice owner and interesting food. It’s worth to try!
The food was okay. The red sauce, which comes with taco rice, made the taste better.
So simple yet so hard to beat!! No card & Yen only!
Only a limited number of seats, but service was quick and efficient. Avoid peak times.
Of course, as with all King Tacos we've tried, this place is no exception to the delicious Taco Rice we've come to expect from the chain. One amazing bite and you'll be addicted.

Tried to charge us a table charge we had 2 beers and the table charge was more than the beers. Tried to order from the menus but most dishes were not available. Refused to pay the table charge as we visited this restaurant two night previous with no table charge. Needless to say I refused to pay this outrageous table charge. Maybe it was because we were tourists. Would give it a minis 2 star if I could.
Food was delicious and staff were very friendly. But, the food and drinks were way over priced for how small the portions were.

GREAT tacos if you need a little reminder of Mexican food in Japan. I had the Beef steak tacos and the chicken tacos and both were amazing. The beef was very flavorful and the chicken was great and had a hint of curry in it. Definitely a place to go back to.

I've always noticed this cozy little spot and finally decided to stop in. There was a small group playing live music, which added a nice touch, but unfortunately, I had to sit outside since they had a reserved event going on inside. Thankfully, the weather was cool and relaxing, so it wasn’t too bad.
When I went to order, they were out of a few types of taco meat, which was a bit of a letdown. Still, I placed my order and headed to the patio. The food came out quickly and was tasty, and the caramel macchiato I had was absolutely delicious.
The only reason I'm knocking off a star is because of the limited food options and not being able to enjoy the live music fully. But overall, it was a pleasant experience, and I’ll definitely be back to try it again when things are less busy.
Had lunch here with family and ordered tacos, nachos quesadilla, ginger ale, cookies, and meat rice bowl. They have free Mexican soup and free salsa bar, which is nice. For the tacos, I recommend the pulled pork. The beef steak quesadilla is remarkable. The portions are OK and their menu is varied and affordable. The cookies were delicious. Also, I like how they have healthy ingredients. The atmosphere is rustic perfect for casual hanging out and dining.

A must-try! This taco shop puts a creative Japanese twist on a classic favorite, and the flavors are incredible. Fresh ingredients, perfectly balanced seasonings, and a menu with great gluten-free options make it a standout. Every bite is unique and delicious—I’ll definitely be coming back.
It was okay but I think 500yen for a big cookie is a lot. The single taco was 600 yen. I forgot to ask for a corn shell taco and was given a plain shell. I think all the stuff members are able to speak in English.
The jackfruit taco was interesting. I wanted some sour cream or something else.
The soup was like watered down salsa but I guess it wasn't bad. The dirty chai coffee was not bad at the shop but I'm just not a fan of dirty chai. The water is self-service and free.

A local legendary spot, this is a place known for its Vegan Mexican food, but it serves many non-Vegan foods as well! The Atmosphere is cozy and warm, has a fun design, and good music. Definitely a nice place to relax and enjoy high quality Mexican food while getting that “coffee shop vibe”.
They are most famous for their Tacos. The tortillas are flour based, incredibly soft and airy—they have a handmade and fire heated quality to them. Light, floury on the outside, but sturdy with a delicious soft chew within the airy texture. The chorizo is shredded tofu, but has the same taste and consistency as regular chorizo, but with none of the fatty oil/grease that normal chorizo has! Salsa’s are completely solid and authentic—feels like you’re back in your local Tacoria in the states
The “vegan” tacos are actually quite amazing and refreshing. They honestly taste like normal tacos, and don’t feel pretentious or overly fake. I would not be able to tell that these were “vegan” on a blind taste test.
While you pay closer to US prices for each Taco, the quality of preparation and of taste more than satisfies the cost! Overall an incredibly delicious experience, and worth a visit!
Food was good , and the right amount of kick with the sauces available tried the steak burrito which definitely hit the spot with the super crispy but soft flower tortilla. The bowl was a bit of a let down due to serving size even though I ordered double meat felt really small but definitely good flavors.

食べログなどネットでは直近で明日の予約ができなかったけど、電話したら予約できました。金曜日の夕方に土曜日の夜の予約だったけど普通に予約取れました。個室は埋まってましたが。
あまり期待していなかったのですが、行ってみると個室じゃなくても各席が少し離れた感じでレイアウトされていて、雰囲気も良く、メニューには予約者の名前とメッセージに予約者へのオススメメニューなどホスピタリティに溢れていて良い！と思いました。
個室でないぶん少しうるさいではありますが会話が厳しいほどでもなく許容範囲です。店の位置が大通りから外れていますが、お勧めできます！

Tsuboya Yachimun Street, also known as Tsuboya Yachimun Dori, is a serene cobblestone street adorned with traditional earthenware workshops, charming cafes, and a pottery museum. The street is home to unique workshops that have been crafting traditional Ryukyu-era pottery for generations. Visitors can enjoy leisurely strolls and window shopping while admiring the vibrant and skillfully crafted potteries on display.
Nothing very special, but the cute small shops were nice. We bought some pattery there.

Shops open at 10am, many nice and fancy pottery if you have the budget.
We bought a pair of shisa at one of the shop ( thinking it’s handmade and unique ) but turns out all the souvenir shops also carry this shisa .
Thoroughly enjoyed the street. If you are looking for pottery ideas or just want to see the different styles of pottery culture, this is a great place to visit right off the busy bustling Street of Kokusi Street.
Quiet street lined with pottery workshops and shops. Pleasant place to wander and browse, if not shop. Leads into the covered market (and fish market close by).
Streets are so beautiful here. You really get the feeling of old traditional Okinawa.
Downside side is the shops are all about same and aimed for tourist who want to buy pottery.
Not all come from Okinawa so ask shop keeper before buying.

the shops are small but they have unique and beautifully made options of mugs, bowls, dishes and some decorative items. a great place to go for supporting the local artists, and for buying special and delicate gifts.
Wonderful and enjoyable spot to visit if you love pottery. You can spend more than an hour or so just viewing the different pottery shops. There are a variety of styles ranging from cute and modern to more traditional designs and glazing techniques.
Came for the festival and most stores had items at 20% off!
It's a small street with a lot of shops and cafes. I thought the ceramics sold here were unique and not items I have seen in every place! I really loved how each shop carried their style.

This market is enormous! If you want to explore Okinawa, I believe you should spend a day walking around here. There is just so much there and lots of great little spots to eat and drink.

It’s a tourist trap.
A walk in the area and you will not find locals doing their marketing. There are 2 floors with small restaurants above selling seafood or mostly cooking the seafood for you when u bought it downstairs. Because it’s a tourist place, they have English and Chinese speaking staff at the eateries.
It’s basically a seafood and premium beef market with some dry goods/ side dish stalls. Mostly priced higher than their local supermarkets.
Each stall had some arrangements with the eateries upstairs. The seafood is mostly overpriced but very fresh. Depending on where you come from, it may be deemed cheap for you due to the exchange rate.
Unlike some tourists around me having big prawns, lobsters and crabs, we opted for a simple and very satisfying meal.

This is obviously a touristic place but we enjoyed it. This is actually not a very big market as we thought but there was a lot of choices of fresh fishes and sea creatures, as well as some others Okinawa specialities.
It was amazing to try the special seafood in Okinawa! We tried coconut crab (椰子蟹), Tridacna (陣渠), great green turban shell (夜光貝), and parrotfish (鸚哥魚).
The one of fish workers is from china, he can introduce the fresh seafood and suggest cooking methods to you in mandarin. He will also take you to a restaurant to enjoy the fresh seafood after you make your purchase. You can choose the cooking method, such as half sashimi and half fried/deep-fried!
All the seafood was my first time to try!! I didn't expect the coconut crab to have so much crab fat and the green turban shell was very sweet.
Nice place for local vibe. But prices are tourist standards. Almost same as tokyo's tsukuji market area. But worth to visit once if happen to be in the area,as the seafood is really fresh.
Our lunch experience at Makishi Public Market was one to remember. We kicked things off on the first floor, picking out fresh seafood right from the local stalls — everything from vibrant cuts of sashimi-grade fish to a whole sea bream that caught our eye. The vendors were warm and welcoming, making the selection process easy and enjoyable.
We brought our ingredients up to the second level where the real magic happened. The chefs there turned our picks into a delicious spread. The fresh sashimi was clean, sweet, and beautifully plated — every slice a bite of the ocean. We also had stir-fried bitter gourd with spam, a local Okinawan favourite. The bitterness was mellow and balanced well by the savoury spam. A comforting dish, especially with rice.
Another standout was the prawns with eggs — silky and rich, yet not overly heavy. But the showstopper was definitely the sea bream. Cooked Chinese-style — deep-fried to a crispy golden crust and then finished with soy sauce — it was both flavourful and aromatic.
Eating upstairs with our custom meal, we really felt immersed in Okinawan food culture. Fresh, interactive, and full of flavour — this was not just a meal, but an experience.
This place was truly amazing! We arrived hopeful and excited about eating here, and we were rewarded with spectacular food, friendly staff who spoke multiple languages, the cleanest fish market I’ve ever been in and so much more. We ordered a lot, since we were really hungry. We had lobster, fish, abalone, sea urchin and oyster sashimi. It was so good, we ate the whole thing and still wanted more. It was bursting with flavour, and the texture varied, sometimes crunchy and sometimes smooth. We ordered cooked fish and lobster porridge too, and it was really, really, really fresh and sweet. We ordered juice and beer, and both were splendid too! If looking for an authentic and cultural experience, I would definitely recommend.
It is not a big market but sufficient for a city. The variety and selection are not very wide, but they have the usual. One can buy the raw ingredients and seafood from the ground floor, and then the seller will send up to the kitchen that you have selected to prepare the food for you.

Thank You Ginowan Convention Center for allowing the Kadena High School graduating Class of 2024 to host a spectacular Graduation Ceremony and Celebration. The staff were so professional and helpful. The facilities had ample seats, beautiful acoustics and perfect lighting. It was a beautiful place to host this special rites of passage for our military connected students.

Visited the convention center last weekend for the OnMeet car show.
Although I've been to the convention center before, I'm always impressed at how clean and well cared for the premises are. The A/C in the exhibition halls is also awesome for such a large building.

Tropical Beach is a popular spot on the west coast of Ginowan, offering a sectioned swimming area, restroom facilities, and picnic spots. It's part of an area that includes Ginowan Kaihin Park, the Ginowan Marina, hotels like Laguna Garden Hotel and Moon Ocean Ginowan Hotel & Residence, as well as the Okinawa Convention Center. The beach is easily accessible from Route 58 and offers a wood cabin-style cafe with ample seating.
Clean beach with a great view! Free parking and good hours for swimming. There's a foot wash station nearby and showers for pay- 100 yen/3 min. The swimming area wasn't crowded and was a decent size with a gradual decline out. I'm not sure how deep it gets, but it's under 5" at least half way.

Nice little beach with soft sand. There’s an enclosed swimming area and lifeguards. Only drawback is that it isn’t too big so can get crowded easily. Also, the restrooms never have toilet paper so make sure you bring some if you think you might need it.
The beach is beautiful. I arrived at 4 PM, and it was a little crowded. The water was clear, but the swimming area wasn't very large.
There were public toilets and rental lockers available (200 yen per use). Just remember to put all your belongings inside the locker before you close and lock it. Also, be sure to check the operating hours if you're coming here to swim.

I visited this beach on my last day in Okinawa before an evening flight, and it turned out to be the perfect choice. My family and I love this beach! We spend most of the summer there. Love the playground, the food that you can choose from. The parking isn’t the best or the most spacious but it’s a hit or miss sometimes. The pirate ship park is amazing and my kids love it. We always spend a good portion of the day here when we go out. It’s a great place to come and sit and enjoy the Oki vibes.
Decent beach, the swimming area is small like many other beach in Okinawa but its really clean. The lifeguard also very friendly and helpful. The facilities are in decent condition, there’s showers that you can pay 100 yen for and also toilet.
Nice beach for families. You can rent umbrellas, beach chairs, floating, etc. I like how they have a swimming area and there's so waves so my little kids were able to enjoy being in the ocean.
Beach was not very nice (but I’m Filipino and have high expectations with beaches coming from the country with the best beaches in the world). There was a lifeguard though and a beach office. The toilet was clean too!
It can be a bit busy on payday weekends due to the heavy Miltary presence however, overall the vibe is very good not too rowdy families young locals, and American Miltary can all get along and have a good time at this beach.
However, be advised that the swimming areas are knitted, and if you swim outside of the designated area, you will be warned by the lifeguards also generally speaking no snorkeling is allowed in the area at low tide. Divisibility can be quite murky and the water Sandy

No English menu but using our Google lens tranlator it was very easy to order. Food was tasty. Drinks were great. Service and atmosphere were authentic to an izakaya and not a tourist trap.
Would come again and recommend. Did not break the bank either.

Lovely local izakaya with a good selection of drinks and mostly small tapas-stylr dishes.
Most of the menu is in Japanese and the staff don't speak much English, so come equipped with some tools for translation or get ready to be surprised.
The service was very slow and we had to search for a member of staff to get served, but they were nice and friendly once we found them.
They only accept cash payments.
I was assisted by a young lady staff who could speak limited English and was friendly to take my orders. Food was alright and not mind blowing. Decided to return next evening to try their rafute and have ume wine, waited 5min at the counter for a staff to attend to me. An more senior female server who totally couldn't understand English came over with a mop and I pointed at the empty counter seat. She pointed to the wet floor and I waited while she mopped. Afterwards, she saw me waiting and waved me away. While I understood the seat may not be in the right condition, so I asked "Take Out". She waved her hand again as if to shoo me away and that she doesn't need my business. Wouldn't revisit this place again. Would have given no stars but for the staff who served me right first time, i decided to give 2 stars.
Thanks to her poor attitude, I visited another Japanese restaurant nearby which served better food and service. So if you are in the area, walked further in and give other establishments a try.

A local “hidden” Izakaya that is obviously a local watering hole favorite! This is a place that fits the quintessential essence of a local bar—tight, intimate, and fresh fried food and beer readily available all the time. The staff is very friendly and are pretty responsive too. This place becomes packed during the evening, and is the local spot for commiserating and partying. The prices are incredibly reasonable and they have an English menu should you need it. The Karashiyaki is one of their best menu items—it has a great spicy kick (which can be hard to find in Japan)! All the food was good quality and fun to eat with your beer! Definitely a place to check out for the low key local vibe and the delicious “soul food”!

I noticed a long line behind my hotel every morning and wondered what it was for. It turns out, it was a very famous steak restaurant! There’s always a long queue before 11 a.m., but I went around 5 p.m. and was able to get a seat right away without waiting.
I decided to try it after reading some reviews, and it did not disappoint — the steak was incredibly tender and flavorful. You can really taste the natural flavor of the beef. Personally, I’m not a big fan of wagyu,that's why i like this steak restaurant. this place is a must-try. I highly recommend eating it with just a sprinkle of black pepper, without any sauce.
How it works:
1. Choose your cut and size (Small, Medium, or Large).
2. Choose how you want it cooked (Rare, Medium Rare, etc.).
3. Choose between rice or bread.
They will serve soup and salad first ( you don't need to order that)
When you sit down, they’ll give you a table number card — you’ll use that when paying at the register.
The restaurant has been around since 1953, with a long and proud history.
Highly recommended — just don’t go around 11 a.m. when it’s packed! Visit later in the afternoon for a much quieter .
The steak is dry and hard. Do NOT order medium well(for both no. 1&2 type of steak), medium is just ok for type 2of the steak.
Feel like we can cook much better than the one we had in the restaurant. The stir fried noodles is not good too. Too salty and the pork is hard.

I never knew that the waiting time to get into the restaurant is super long. I waited for an hour to be called in. But this place is worth waiting for. The steak was so soft, tender, juicy and tasty. The place was laid back. The atmosphere was good and lively, the staff were nice and accommodating and the service was great.
A local resident recommended Jack’s and we loved it here. The steak is delicious and comes with just enough onions for each bite, salad and a delicious creamy soup. We went at 3pm and there wasn’t a wait but when we left there were people waiting outside to get in. The second time we went at 1:30pm and waited 40 minutes outside for a table. The tacos are really good too.
Wow. No wonder why there is always a queue! Real diner vibes. I got the tenderloin that was lively, asked for medium, got medium rare but was still good. Ask them to cook it a bit more! The chips were amazing, the spaghetti for the kids, amazing and the tacos! My standout was the cheeseburger! I’m getting an other before I leave Okinawa!

This place looks like a beach designed in minecraft. Another exhibit in Japan’s mission to encircle the entire country in concrete. Seems popular for surfing and diving. Not really a swimming place. The walkway above is nice for a walk or run. But there are better, more natural beaches in Okinawa if you are able to drive around.
I'm not sure why this is referred to as "Miyagi Coast" this is the Sunabee Sea Wall. The walkway is approximately 12-15 foot wide, there are multiple concrete, open wall, roofed structures all along giving you a place to get out of the sun or rain. Excellent place to walk or job with a beautiful view of the ocean. Lots of small businesses all along. We went scuba diving the other day with Aloha Diving (highly recommend) and met at on of the covered stations. We've eaten at Bella Napolis a few times (also highly recommend) which is just one of the Excellent restaurants found here. If the weather is nice, forget about finding a parking spot on the wall. Low tide seems to be less crowded. Poor sea conditions (for snorkeling or suba) will be less corded as well. Beautiful place!

Lovely beach with nice fine sand, my kids and I were good with out swim shoes. That being said, if you plan on coming to swim, check the level of the tide in advance. I, unfortunately did not, and at the lowest point of the designated swimming area the water only comes up about .1 - .2m making it virtually impossible to “swim”. At high tide it appears to be about 2m deep, however.
They have chairs and umbrellas available to rent and it’s close to a spacious, free, parking lot.

Nice small public beach near the American village. The place is popular for bbq. There are toilets, showers (for 100yen)... Beach is clean. I woudn't spend there whole day but for 1-2 hours it is really nice and welcomed especially during the hot days. And you can watch the sunset here.;-)

Went to get Okinawa style soba and chicken set.
Chicken set took 40 minutes to get, restaurant wasn't very busy, 3 other tables ordered after I had already placed my order for similar food and they got their first. When we had to leave as the busses are very infrequent, we got forced to wait and take it away rather than just cancel it. The set consists of shredded cabbage, plain rice and a chicken cutlet.
The dinner was really good! Tried the squid ink yakisoba and it has been the best yakisoba I have ever tried!!

It's definitely worth the trip.

So I took my wife here because we love arts and history and this place obviously had both. I expected use to be there no more than 30 minutes to a half hour but we ended up staying well over three and still not being able to explore all of what we wanted in an unlimited time frame. We had to get the kids. But if your looking for a place that goes deep into okinawain history and then some, this place is it. The exhibits are lively and catches your eyes. We walked around with the free iPod you get there, set the language to English and ventured to as many spot as possible listening to the history behind so many different things about Okinawa. This place will keep here I think for about 5-6 hours.

Very interesting museum. A lot of information, artefacts and objects from the prehistoric period to the US invasion and the modern Ginowan city. Some explanations provided also in English but for the rest you can easily translate from Japanese using a AI app on your phone.
I highly recommend to pass by (1 hour or 1.5 hours). The museum is FREE of charge and well maintained.
This museum is attached to Morikawa Park and the history of this area was amazing. There is no fee to get in. Took many pictures recommend everyone to take a look at the history of Ginowan area and during the war.
This is a great place to visit anytime of the year. The environment is climate controlled and, the place is never crowded. Staff are friendly and helpful and, the museum is full of interesting artifacts. History and culture buffs, as well as, photographers, don't pass this one up. Morikawa Park is a large park encaved with trees and monuments. There are a long slide and a sandpit for kids to play in. Right by the entrance is a tennis court. As you walk throughout the park, it's beautiful and serene. When arriving at the very top of the park is the gate beside Futenma. There is also a large land of grass to run around in and also a public restroom.

This visit was my first return visit since I was in Okinawa several years ago. Our family came here often when we were stationed here.
I brought my oldest grandson here for our Valentines Day meal. To say I was sorely disappointed would be an understatement. This definitely was not the Sam's Anchor Inn that I remembered. I had the steak and garlic shrimp set meal. The portion size was great, but the meal itself was unsatisfactory. The vegetables, mainly onions with green peppers and a tiny bit of bok choy, were dry and unseasoned. The steak (NY strip) and shrimp had plenty of garlic, but no other seasoning seemed to be on the meat. The Navy bean soup recipe seems to have changed as well. The escargot, bread, and shrimp cocktail were good.
I have no plans of returning to Sam's Anchor Inn for another meal.

Cool place for the teppanyaki experience. Food was good but a bit expensive in my view. Two main courses with a special drink with a commemorative glass will run you around 10,000 yen. Good experience overall.
Very good dinning experience. The teppanyaki chief makes our kids full of fun during dinning. Garlic fried rice is a must to try. Some drinks allows you take away their cup/mug. The rickshaw at the front door was shipped from Hong Kong. Recommended.

A must-try is their special naan filled with cheese and topped with oregano; it has a unique flavor reminiscent of pizza without the sauce.
Nepal Spice is such a lovely Indian restaurant. They have a great selection of lassi’s and great set menu options.
My only regret was that I didn’t add more spice level. Highly recommend you go up a little more than you think you should.

Partner and I ordered the special meal set which came with rice, 4 curries, tandoori chicken, salad, naan and two drinks. Great value for money! The garlic cheese Naan is so tasty and the curry prawn so delicious, just a little disappointed 😞 I only got 2 prawns with my order. My friend absolutely enjoyed her food and had no complaints. We both had a mojito for our drink and just know it is very very string, but not sweet at all. We would absolutely go back and recommend to others.

公園自体もよく整備されてて、芝生もきれいだし、トイレも清潔。ベンチもたくさんあって、のんびりできます。天気がいい日は特に最高。
今度は夕日が沈む時間に行ってみたいな〜と思える場所でした。
