Furano is known for its striking seasonal landscapes, especially summer lavender fields and colorful flower farms set against the backdrop of Hokkaido’s mountains. The town also showcases rural Hokkaido life with local produce, wineries, and dairy products, plus easy access to nearby nature areas such as Biei’s rolling hills. Its compact size and scenic drives make it a convenient base for exploring central Hokkaido.
With favorites like Furano Jam Garden - Kyohsai Farm, Sushi Dokorotakahashi, and Soh’s BAR, we’ll make sure you don’t miss out on all the must sees. Ningle Terrace is a charming collection of wooden cottages and workshops nestled in the woods, offering a picturesque setting for showcasing and selling traditional handicrafts. Visitors can explore the cozy log cabin-designed shops, each offering unique souvenirs and hand-crafted items. The serene forest surroundings provide a cool and inviting atmosphere, perfect for leisurely strolls and capturing Instagram-worthy moments. One of the standout shops features exquisite snowflake-themed silver jewelry, adding to the allure of this artisanal haven.
I visited this place in July 2025. The weather outside was quite hot (over 30°C), but once inside, it felt pleasantly cool and refreshing thanks to the many large trees providing shade. There is a parking area right in front of the entrance. The walking paths are made of sturdy wooden planks, making it easy to walk and not too steep. There are many charming little shops throughout the area, making it a great spot to browse for souvenirs or gifts to take home.
Peerasit T — Google review
Ningle Terrace feels like stepping into a little fairytale village, with rows of charming wooden cottages surrounded by trees. Each house sells unique handmade souvenirs, from candles to crafts, giving you something special to bring home instead of typical tourist gifts. It’s a pleasant place to stroll slowly, enjoy the atmosphere, and discover local creativity. The pathways are well kept and beautifully lit in the evening, which makes it even more magical. Parking is convenient with plenty of spaces available, so it’s easy to stop by even on a busy day. We spent about an hour just walking around and browsing the shops. It’s a peaceful and memorable stop, perfect for anyone who enjoys nature and artisanal items.
Pechaporn P — Google review
Magical, especially at evening/ night time when all the lights are twinkling against the back drop of the forest. We visited it as part of our Furano tour. Each hut housed individual artisan crafting leather goods, earrings, mini wooden windmills, and other wooden trinkets. The only caution noted are for the more mature visitors who might have a hard time with the steps which could be steep and sometimes slippery if wet or snowy. Other than that, this was a cute and fun place to explore.
Mei S — Google review
This is a place with beautiful scenery all year round, with a different atmosphere in every season. The small wooden cottages blend perfectly with the surroundings. The handmade crafts inside aren’t cheap, but they’re worth checking out if you’re interested. It’s located near the New Furano Prince Hotel and ski resort, so there are many visitors in winter. There’s only one road leading up here, and it can get a bit crowded during the peak winter season.
山の家 — Google review
If you ask me whether this place is beautiful — I’d say it’s really beautiful. But I drove quite a long way to get here, about an hour. I came during the autumn season, around 6:30 p.m., and most of the shops were already closed, though the lights were still beautifully lit. I’d say if you’re coming from far away and don’t have your own car, it might be a bit tricky to get here. But if you’re staying nearby and it’s easy for you to travel around, this place is definitely worth a visit. The cool October air made everything look even more wonderful. 🍂
Indira J — Google review
This place feels like it is in a fairy tale! Love the building design. There are many shops that sell hand crafted products and you may find something that interests you. The only issue that I cannot enjoy that much is there are many inserts like caterpillars, spiders and flies everywhere, other than that I will be really enjoying the time spent there.
Sheep M — Google review
We enjoyed walking around the cute shops during the sunset. The atmosphere was so nice and cozy with the warm lights and the wood cabins. We didn’t purchase anything at the stores but we walked to the cafe which has a limited menu but good cakes and matcha.
Gilad S — Google review
it is a magical spot visit during winter night if you love the vibe of elf feel. However, it is crowded and difficult for me to enjoy it. It has a big parking spot. Next to it has a small amusement park which my kids enjoy it.

Pizza restaurant
Furano Cheese Factory is a must-visit for cheese enthusiasts and food lovers. The factory offers tours, tastings, and workshops where visitors can learn to churn butter or make curds and whey from Hokkaido milk. The popular Wine Cheddar, the only cheese in Japan with wine in it, is a highlight among the dairy products made with fresh Furano milk. Additionally, there are wood-fired pizzerias and gourmet shops on-site.
Cheese Factory that sells various cheese products and conducts cheese, butter and ice cream making experiences. Attended the butter making (40min) and cheese making (1hr) experiences. Had fun working out the arms during the butter making. Had to shake the heavy in a glass bottle for 8 to 10 minutes. After that, hands were shaking and couldn't write properly. Salted the butter to taste and we could bring it home. Cheese making was not as 'strenuous', just some stirring and folding. Procedures were given for both sessions, and you could bring the instructions home. You are given a sticker to decorate and paste onto your container of butter or cheese. Those who made ice cream got to eat them after the session. There is also a restaurant selling pizzas baked there. Tried their margarita and onion pizzas. Yummy...

A great stop for anyone interested in cheese and local food production. The facility is clean, informative, and offers a look into how their famous cheese is made. You can watch part of the process through viewing windows and learn about different cheese types. The tasting samples are a nice bonus, and the freshly made cheese is delicious. Don’t miss the milk ice cream and pizza from the cafe next door. A peaceful, family-friendly spot surrounded by nature. Great for cheese lovers and curious travelers!
Peng C — Google review
Visited the Furano Cheese Factory which also includes an ice cream shop and a pizza kitchen. We even saw classrooms where students were learning how to make waffles and other desserts, which added a nice, hands-on vibe to the place. The most eye-catching item was the asparagus ice cream. It felt a little too adventurous for me, so I gave it a pass and tried other flavors instead. The ice cream was light, not too sweet, and really let the fresh milk flavor shine. Important heads-up: both the ice cream and pizza shops only accept cash. We were already running low on Japanese yen, so we ended up skipping the pizza despite being completely tempted by the amazing smell. Unfortunately, we had already bought the ice cream first. And since both of us are more into savory food, that was a bit of a regret. Lesson learned. Inside the main hall, there was a cheese tasting station where we sampled all the different cheeses on sale. We bought the one we liked most right after. Overall, it’s a chill and family-friendly stop with fresh milk, light desserts, great-smelling pizza and a fun little cheese lesson. Just remember to bring cash if you plan to indulge in everything.

I really love the cheese-flavored soft ice cream here – it’s my absolute favorite! Highly recommended in any season. The seating area is comfortable, and you can also enjoy making cheese and butter yourself. Their pizza is pretty good too!

When you visit Furano, you must visit this place to enjoy their milk, cheese cake and their Italian style pizza. From Furano station we took cab for 1550 yen in 10 minutes ride. They sell various cheese, milk nd butter made by their factory. They accept cash and card 💳 in their shop. To order pizza you must take the coupon order from vending machine , and pay it cash. The cost of the pizza 1000- 3000 yen, depend on the kind of pizza that you choose. Don't forget to visit theirices cream shop as well and try their cheese softcream. As I went by cab so I ask a favor the the ice cream shop keeper to help to call the cab back to furano station.
Dewi A — Google review
The factory experience is brief, with just three cheesemaking stages shown, but their products easily earn five stars!! The fresh milk is rich yet light, the cheesecake soft and airy, and the cheese soft serve is one of the thickest and smoothest we’ve ever tasted 😍 And they were reasonably priced too! Plus, there’s a large lawn where you can relax and enjoy your food 😌

it was located in midst of the village lots of tree and quite interesting. there was free tasting of some cheese. all very tasty... a pizza making kitchen was also next to it where you can see how pizzas are made.. .

Furano Marche is a charming local market located in Furano, consisting of three lovely buildings housing a product center, agricultural shops, and a delightful handmade bakery. This vibrant market offers an array of local agricultural products and delectable processed foods, as well as household goods and miscellaneous items to explore. Visitors can enjoy the diverse local foods at the restaurant and cafe or take-out gourmet shop.

These 2 mini buildings houses a souvenir store, food court, a bakery, a fresh produce store and ice cream store. Easy to browse and not too crowded. Free parking onsite.

We visited in August and really enjoyed our time here. There’s plenty of fresh produce to buy and take home, plus bakeries, ice cream, and souvenirs for both gifting and memories. It’s the kind of place where you can slow down, snack, and enjoy the town’s atmosphere. We spent some time walking around, tasting different foods, and relaxing—it felt refreshing. The tomato juice is especially tasty, and the bakeries are worth trying as well. It’s also convenient that the shop offer tax refunds for 5,000 JPY and above, which makes shopping easier for tourists. Overall, it’s a great stop if you’re traveling in the area, whether to stock up on local goods or simply enjoy some time off the road.

Many many tasty options for eating/drinking as well as souvenir shopping! Organized parking guidance was appreciated. Clean bathroom facilities. There’s separate sections so make sure you check out both areas across the street!

Furano Marche is the ultimate one-stop shop for souvenirs. This fantastic market conveniently brings together a wide variety of local goods and handcrafted items from all over the region, making it easy to find the perfect memento. But it's not just for shopping—the market is also a foodie's paradise. You can find a mouthwatering selection of local foods, refreshing drinks, and delightful desserts. It's a highly recommended stop for anyone wanting to experience the best of Furano's flavors and products all in one place.

Great shopping and food centre in an easy to access location. There is a bakery, cafe, farmers market, souvenir shop and several food stands here. There is another part of the complex across the street from the main building, this contains more cafes and restaurants. The parking is free and time unlimited. It is very busy but the car park staff are super organized, I only waited 5 minutes to park. You can park here and easily access central Furano.

Japanese curry restaurant
Store
Yuiga Doxon is a rustic cottage located in Furano City, offering a unique dining experience with its wooden building and terrace. The restaurant is known for its slightly spicy curry dishes made with over 30 kinds of spices. Their bestseller, the Omelet and Sausage Curry, features special curry roux, omelet filled with an original cheese blend, and homemade sausage smoked over mountain cherry blossom wood. Most ingredients used are locally produced in Furano.
Had the omelette w sausage curry rice & it’s delicious but it didn’t wow me. We waited for 45 minutes from 1150am on a Tuesday & can’t believe there’s such a long queue when the area was like a ghost town 🤣 what surprised me is that the curry is actually a little spicy. Usually Japanese curry is on the sweeter side but this is spicy so if you do not take spicy food at all, please just skip this place. Overall I liked the curry rice for the variety of ingredients used which tastes very wholesome (sausage, salad, sweet potato, omelette & rice) but I would not queue for this 🫣 I read reviews saying the homemade sausage was special but I didn’t find it special. It’s just normal sausage & I had eaten better sausages 🤣

The environment is clean and good. Just may not be acceptable to many people I am ok. I just want to highlight it out to people with expectations.

Found this place thru google. We ordered the signature omelette curry rice with homemade sausage, the curry was rich, the omelette fluffy, and it comes with a sausage. The spiciness level is acceptable. The restaurant’s wooden cabin vibe made the meal even more special. Highly recommended in Furano!
Adam T — Google review
Queued quite a long time at Yuiga Doxon, which was surprising since the area was otherwise very quiet. The owners and staff were friendly, and the food was not bad overall. The omu curry rice was piping hot and flavourful — more peppery and spicy than sweet. The sausage was nice without a tough casing, and the omelette was creamy. Chicken curry was tender too. Enjoyed the meal, and it made a good lunch spot at Furano.

A long-established European-style curry shop located near Furano Station. It's a renowned Japanese curry restaurant with high quality and generous portions, topped with homemade sausage, bacon, beef tongue, and omelet. Moreover, there's an unbelievable service where you can refill the curry sauce as many times as you want! 🍛

Got the bestseller Omelette and Sausage Curry. Was veryvery good and tasteful, perfect for a cold day. Note the free curry refill by saying "ru-rururu". The atmosphere was incredible and the place is very unique. Is a very popular place so be aware that there is going to be a line.

After a few weeks in Japan, this restaurant gave me my favorite meal of the entire trip! The curry had an intense amazing flavor I will never forget - and the restaurant itself had the coolest vibe. Sit up on the second floor deck if you can! This is a must visit if you are on the area.

Campana Rokkatei is a charming tea room located in a picturesque vineyard in Furano, Hokkaido. It offers a delightful selection of delicate sweets and cheesecake from the renowned confectioner Rokkatei. The spacious interior features large windows that provide stunning views of the surrounding vineyard, while an outdoor terrace allows guests to enjoy their tea or coffee amidst the vines.
The Campana Rokkatei grape farm is a beautiful destination for enjoying their famous cakes. The warm restaurant provides a cozy spot to relax, and I can only imagine how stunning the scenery must be in the summer. If you miss your bus, don’t worry—you’ll have plenty of time to soak in the atmosphere. The café offers a nice selection of items at reasonable prices. In winter, it has a unique charm with its calming white landscape, very different from the vibrant summer scenery. I visited hoping for matcha desserts, but unfortunately, they weren’t available. The dessert selection is somewhat limited, with only about five options. However, the beautiful views, especially in winter, make it a worthwhile experience.

Campana Rokkatei impresses with its stunning architecture and peaceful surroundings, perfect for a relaxing break. This is a very very lovely countryside shop in the Furano area. It’s surrounded by wine yards which you can take plenty of photos. Farm Tomita is a renowned flower farm in Japan, particularly famous for its vast lavender fields. The farm offers visitors the chance to explore beautiful lavender plants and enjoy the scenic landscapes of Furano and Biei area. Additionally, visitors can indulge in lavender-infused treats such as ice cream and other local specialties available at the farm's shop. The farm also produces its own lavender extract, which is used to create their popular Lavender Soft Cream, offering a delightful taste with a refreshing aroma.
This is a beautiful scenic spot to enjoy seasonal flowers. The farm is large, and each area has its own vibrant color theme—purple lavender, bright red, sunny yellow, soft pink, and many other shades. It’s relaxing to walk around and take in the views from different angles, each corner offering a new photo opportunity. Across the farm, there are several souvenir shops and dessert stalls, with lavender ice cream being a highlight. We visited in August when many tour buses were here, but the space is wide enough that it didn’t feel too crowded inside. It’s an easy place to spend an hour or two enjoying nature, tasting local treats, and picking up gifts to bring home. We really enjoy the fresh green and orange melons as well as lavender icecream.
Pechaporn P — Google review
Farm Tomita in Furano is one of Hokkaidō’s most beautiful flower spots. In summer, the fields turn into waves of purple lavender, mixed with colorful flower rows that look like a painting. Walking through the gardens is relaxing, and the views of the fields with mountains in the background are stunning. Don’t miss the lavender soft cream—it’s fragrant and refreshing on a warm day. Entry is free, and you can also shop for lavender products like perfumes and soaps to take home. A must-visit if you travel to Furano in July or August.
Chalermchon S — Google review
🌸 A Living Masterpiece of Color and Fragrance Farm Tomita is nothing short of breathtaking—a true wonderland where nature and artistry blend seamlessly. The iconic lavender fields, stretching endlessly in waves of purple, are the crown jewel of the farm. When the breeze flows across, the entire hillside dances with lavender fragrance, creating an almost dreamlike atmosphere. It’s not just a visual delight but also a sensory journey that stays with you long after you leave. ⸻ 🌼 More Than Lavender – A Symphony of Flowers What makes Farm Tomita truly remarkable is that it’s not limited to lavender alone. The farm carefully cultivates a wide variety of seasonal flowers, painting the landscape in ever-changing patterns of color. Stripes of scarlet poppies, golden marigolds, snowy baby’s breath, and vibrant cosmos form breathtaking “rainbow fields” that look like a living painting under the Hokkaido sky. Each section feels like stepping into a different garden, each with its own charm and beauty. ⸻ 🌿 A Perfect Blend of Tradition and Care Farm Tomita doesn’t just showcase flowers—it represents decades of dedication to preserving and celebrating Hokkaido’s floral heritage. Walking through its fields, you can sense the meticulous care behind every bloom. The farm also offers unique lavender-based products—perfumes, essential oils, soaps, and even lavender ice cream—allowing visitors to take home a piece of this floral paradise. ⸻ 🌞 A Place to Slow Down and Feel Happiness Above all, Farm Tomita gives visitors something priceless: a sense of joy and peace. Whether it’s gazing at endless rows of lavender, enjoying the sweet fragrance in the air, or simply standing still to admire the vastness of colors, the farm reminds us how magical nature can be. It is not only a feast for the eyes but also nourishment for the soul. ⸻ ✨ In short: Farm Tomita is a place where flowers speak the language of beauty, harmony, and happiness—a destination that leaves every visitor inspired and enchanted.

It was my first time visiting a well-maintained lavender field, and being surrounded by the fragrant purple blossoms was both magical and fascinating—visually and aromatically. Purple is a rare color in nature; when you think about it, it’s actually not that easy to find naturally occurring purple around us. Here, you can also try lavender products like soaps, air fresheners, and even ice cream. As for the lavender ice cream… how should I put it? It’s not that it tasted bad, but it definitely felt a bit unusual. Let’s just say that until that moment, I had never imagined what fabric softener with lavender scent might taste like.

Visited on 29 Sep 2025 and didn't expect to see so many beautiful flowers here in autumn. There are far fewer crowds compared to spring and summer, allowing you to really enjoy the flower field. Recommend visiting in late September or early October if you're looking to avoid the heat and crowds.

Probably the most famous flower fields in Furano given how all the tour buses were stopping here. Very crowded with tourists. The flower fields were nice and well maintained but I cant help to feel that other less crowded ones nearby were more lush and more enjoyable. Still, worth a visit. Especially enjoyed the gentle fragrance of lavender wafting in the air

After hearing about and seeing Farm Tomita in so many Furano itineraries, we definitely wanted to see as well even though we went in mid-October. There were some colourful flowers in bloom so it was pretty but obviously not as vibrant as in summer. Worth visiting for a few photos.

Sushi Dokorotakahashi is a cozy and popular sushi restaurant in Furano town, known for its high-quality sushi and sashimi. The husband and wife team who own the restaurant are friendly and accommodating, creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests. While the menu is primarily in Japanese, free Wi-Fi is available to assist with translation. The small size of the restaurant means that reservations are recommended due to its popularity.
Small place, reservation required. Only one chef, so be very patient. Excellent Omakase… he takes the trouble to plan so that there’s no duplication with my sushi roll and sashimi plate. Fresh, thickly sliced sashimi.

Insane waiting time. Prepare yourself for a 3 hour dinner. The fish quality is very good. On a high-end sushi scale from 1-10, I would place it on a 8. Unfortunately there was one course which was uneatable. See picture The hosts are very kind. I would just note that it would have been a good service to offer me something else to replace the one unpleasant dish, but they didn’t.

Celebrated my partner's birthday there and made our reservations via JPNEAZY and paid JPY 1600 Yen just for the reservation. We did that because it was a Tuesday and most restraunts closes on Tuesday. Also when booking via this app, the only option you have is to select the omakase meal. If it is entirely up to me, i will definitely go for their ala carte menu. Their uni sushi and gs grilled cod fish was delicious. Omakase is 11,000 yen per person and personally i dont think it is worth the value. Started off with a simple ABC soup, then a plate of ordinary selection of sashimi, honestly i was so underwhelmed when i saw the sashimi. Next came the grilled cod fish, ok that was delicious, put a smile back on my face. After that was a piece of oyster, it was fresh. Then came a delicacy, cod fish sperm sac and finally a plate of sushi, the uni was the best, the rest of the sushi were ordinary selection like chutoro instead of otoro. We picked a bottle of limited brewery sake, cost 9000 yen, it was decent. Overall i will revisit but definitely opt for ala carte.

A small, friendly family-run restaurant. Excellent sushi, tempura and local vegetable dishes. Only one chef so relax as you wait for your food to be prepared. We were lucky enough to get a seat but others were turned away so don’t forget to call ahead for a reservation! Five Stars and Three Thumbs Up!!
Kimmy S — Google review
The staff and customers are very family liked. They do their best to speak to us in English to make us feel at ease and we felt very welcomed. There’s a free parking space right outside. The shop can only host up to 15 pax if I’m not mistaken. So be there early. The sashimi is fresh and juicy but be sure to be able to wait as there is only one chef and it’s definitely worth a try. If possible, it will be best to call to make a reservation. Lastly, do expect to wait and don’t expect the food to be ready immediately as this is an Omakase restaurant.
Sebastian N — Google review
A must-go sushi place. They have sushi omakase, sashimi platter, great beer and especially unbelievable customer service. Their sashimi is exceptional and price is relatively cheap for the thick slices we got. Their sushi fish to rice ratio is 2:1 to 3:1. Recommend ordering the 10 or 12 sushi platter and the sashimi platter. Knowing and speaking English is not common in this area but the chef and assistant in the restaurant will go out of their way to use their notepads to translate what they want to tell you. Will come back to this place with other friends next time!

I had two sushi dinner in Fukura, this one has better quality food and drinks, we had two very nice seasonal sakes, sweet with melon taste, and I like another bottle of 新政,I am not sure if this is the best sushi, but it is a one in this area.

Delicious sushi. As a vegetarian, the attention to detail on the cucumber roll was INSANE. Usually that is a “throw away” dish but here it was treated with as much care as the nigiri. My boyfriend had the 12 piece omakase menu which was likely the best of our Hokkaidō trip. If you ever visit Furano you must come and eat here! There is no English menu, so make sure you have Google translate. Also make a reservation in advance.

Ramen restaurant
Ramen Shinatora in Furano is a popular spot known for its consistent long lines. The restaurant offers delicious charred-garlic broth and a variety of ramen options, including the personal favorite Shina soba and the unique Koge shio with black garlic broth. Customers also praise the chahan and buta don dishes. The menu includes options like pork with rice, fish ramen, and tsukemen, all receiving positive feedback.
Amazing ramen. Order the 2 recommended on their menu and u will not regret it. The garlic based soup has the roasted taste that comes with it. Soup is quite addictive to drink

Everything on this menu is excellent! A must return location; multiple times ; so that you can try everything on the menu ! Top for me 1. Pork bowl (no.14 on menu) 2. Fried garlic ramen soup (no.2 on menu) 3. And standard (no.1 on menu) However I cannot give this place 5 stars, only 4; due to the owner auntie who is rude and dampened the experience (however her son, and young man is very kind) However I will even marry this rude Auntie if it means I can eat at this Ramen shop forever.

We had the miso ramen with pork fat and it was so good. Ramen was cooked perfectly and the broth was so flavourful. We notes many people mentioning an unfriendly lady with glasses but the one lady with glasses who served us was very friendly…she even helped me to count out coins so I could use them up to pay for our meal….all in all a lovely ramen place we recommend when in Furano.

Ordered Koge-Shio Ramen and Debeso-meshi. Ramen Strong Base goes really well with the Charred Garlic Oil. Teppen! Ramen has topping : Best Bamboo shoot I've eaten in my life.. Asked the mum if it's sold as sides, and it's not. I would love to order more Bamboo Shoots! Chashu topping for ramen is seared perfectly too providing good Texture experience between sides. Interesting! Debeso Meshi is indeed DABESTO Butadon Thicc cut of Chashu, probably 60% of the Bowl is Chashu. What a bliss. We sat at the Counter but there's also Seiza seating that can fit up to 4 pax. Definitely recommended for Furano Besto.

A tiny local ramen spot 🍜 We tried their two recommended bowls, the shina ramen was delicious while the black garlic ramen had great flavor but was a bit on the oily side. Overall, a satisfying experience🧄🍜👏🏻

Mutton barbecue restaurant
ジンギスカン白樺 富良野店 is a restaurant that offers delicious and juicy lamb and mutton, which are easy to eat without any gamey smell. The sweet sauce complements the meat well, making it perfect with rice. The Furano location provides a great view adjacent to Campana Rokkatei, allowing visitors to fully enjoy the area.
To specialise in one dish is a real understatement. They only sell mutton or lamb, which is technically the same. With onions. That's it. But OMFG, they do it well. The lamb was really delicious. Price is very reasonable at 900+ yen for the lamb and 700+ for the geriatric lamb, per portion. Simple, yet filling. Dont bring your jacket in unless you wanna smell like your lunch after your meal.
KC — Google review
So fascinating view of grape yard, we can enjoy our meal with the view, such an experience. The meat was well marinated and tender, but on mutton old is a bit chewy sometimes, the onion also a good combination of sides, serving time was so quick, & their payment only by cash.
Vincent — Google review
Their Mongolian BBQ here is absolutely magnificent. Cooking your own marinated lamb right on the BBQ at your table is really the only proper way to enjoy this kind of dining experience — it’s interactive, fun, and the flavour is incredible. The views outside over their vineyard just add to the charm, and with an ice-cold Sapporo Classic beer in hand, it’s hard to imagine a better way to spend a meal in Furano. If you’re in the area, this place is a must-visit. Great food, great atmosphere, and a truly memorable experience.
Gordon P — Google review
We had an awesome time at this restaurant. The food was tasty and reasonably priced. The staff was super friendly and made us feel right at home. We got a window seat with a view of the vineyard and mountains, which made the meal even better. The restaurant’s unique architecture was really cool too—we took tons of photos of the building. We were hesitant to try genghis khan because it felt gimmicky, but we were positively impressed by this first experience, and it has a lot to do with the restaurant itself. Would I recommend genghis khan? Maybe. Would I recommend this restaurant? Definitely yes.

The scenery is nice. Enjoyed our lunch with a nice view. The mutton is hood but yhe lamb is even better.

Went there for the genghis khan and was not disappointed. The price is reasonable compared to other genghis khan in Hokkaido. Meat is fresh and not too gamey. The meat was great with the sauce! The queue is well managed.

Restaurant
Le Gaulois, located just a short walk from the New Furano Prince Hotel, offers a delightful dining experience in the heart of the forest. The menu showcases an array of Hokkaido ingredients, expertly prepared to highlight the region's natural bounty. Guests can savor dishes such as roasted lamb and sautéed Ezo Deer, complemented by a wine selection featuring French, Italian, and local varieties. The restaurant's cozy ambiance and exceptional service further enhance the overall dining experience.
Le Gaulois Furano offers a dining experience that is nothing short of extraordinary, celebrating the finest seasonal ingredients of Hokkaido with creativity and care. Every moment, from the first dish to the last, is a testament to the skill and passion of the chefs. The meal began with a rich and velvety **pumpkin soup**, served in perfectly heated bowls with warm cutlery. This thoughtful detail enhanced the experience, allowing the creamy texture and natural sweetness of the pumpkin to shine. It was a comforting and elegant start to the meal. The **salad** was an absolute masterpiece, featuring fresh vegetables from Furano farms, perfectly grilled scallops, and a delightful cheese cracker that added both texture and a subtle richness. Each bite offered something new, with elements like crispy potato chips adding a creative twist. The balance of flavors and textures was exceptional, showcasing the chef’s ingenuity and attention to detail. The main course was the star of the meal: the **grilled roast of “Hoshizora Black Beef.”** The beef was tender, juicy, and seasoned to perfection, a true highlight of the dining experience. Paired with the warm, homemade **whole wheat bread made with soba flour**, it was a deeply satisfying and harmonious main course. For dessert, the **grapefruit caramel pudding** was a beautiful conclusion. Soft, silky, and refreshingly citrusy, it balanced the sweetness of caramel with the bittersweet notes of grapefruit. It was light, refined, and the perfect way to end such an exquisite meal. The ambiance of the restaurant was equally impressive. With breathtaking views of Furano’s stunning landscapes and a thoughtfully designed interior, the atmosphere was warm, elegant, and inviting. Every detail—from the decor to the plating—showcased the immense effort and care put into creating a memorable experience. Le Gaulois Furano is a culinary gem. The combination of outstanding food, impeccable service, and a visually stunning setting makes it an unmissable destination. Highly recommended for anyone seeking an unforgettable dining experience!

I think it is absurd that the restaurant only accepts reservations by phone, yet not once was the phone answered despite my frequent attempts over a period of two weeks. If the issue is that foreigners (or foreign calls) are not accepted, then a notice should simply be placed on the website stating that fact. No guest should be put in a situation where they have to call repeatedly for two weeks without receiving even the slightest service.

What a marvelous meal - when a Japanese friend recommended it, I knew it would be amazing. The food and service were extraordinary, and it felt such a treat to see how all the Hokkaido ingredients were woven in. Everything was super fresh, and the team could not have been kinder. Incredible!

A three minute walk down the path in the woods from the hotel back entrance brings you to the new addition to the New Furano Prince Hotel eating scene, Le Gaulois. The Signature Salad is plentiful with a variety of local produce including seafood, meat, leaf and root vegetables. Roasted lamb and the sautéed Ezo Deer were executed excellently. Wine list is tilted to French with a few Italians and local wine. Be careful back to the hotel when snowing...
Yu I — Google review
Give it a miss. Pretentious and very pricey without substance for what you get. Had dinner here and it was my worst meal in Hokkaido so far. I had the set dinner for 5700 yen. Soup and wine tasted watered down. Vegetable dish was fancy looking but basically very thinly sliced vegetables which were tasteless. Fish was ok. You get 2 slices of beef, which tasted quite good but it was very little. Dessert was jelly. Nice marketing posters but no substance to the food, I felt ripped off.

Goro's Stone House is a popular tourist attraction that offers visitors a chance to experience the unique reproduction buildings used in the long-running TV drama called 'From the Northern Country'. This classic drama aired from 1981 to 2002 and showcased the actors' lives from childhood to marriage.
Love the drama, and seeing the drama set for real give new dimension how the drama portrait the lives of Furano. The famous stone house is indeed impressive and very pretty from the outside. The first house is also at this site, can see alot of holes through the planks, can understand why it wasn't built to withstand winter harsh.

Goro Stone House is located near the Furano Jam Garden and Anpanman Shop. Go only if you intend to visit the Furano Jam Garden. Ticket entrance to Goro Stone House is ¥500 (or ¥1,200 if you also want to see the Recycled House TV Drama and Goro Log Cabin as well).

I did not know the classic drama “From the Northern Country” which had aired a few seasons until Tanaka, Kunie, who is the model of Kizaru or Yellow Monkey, one of the three top marine generals in One Piece manga, passed away. It aired from 1981 to 2002 sporadically. Even without any knowledge or information, I was saddened when I found that the drama was showing the actors’ life from 5-10 year old to their marriage and so on. It shows their lives! There are thee buildings actually built by Tanaka, Kunie himself. They were cozy and warm. It gave me an idea what kind of house I want to have when I retired.

Stunning stone house. Probably built for TV filming. This place can be reached by the parking lot. Pay and enter through the hut beside the toilet. Then it’s a 10 mins walk up an at least 30 degrees slope up. Once you reach there, it is worth the views and the house itself. There is another wooden house nearby for viewing too. Free parking onsite.

Hidden gem of Furano. Visited this beautiful place in the middle of April. There were no tourist crowd and we have the whole place to ourselves! The counter service man was really really nice and friendly. This place consists of 3 different location. Fukiage open-air Onsen

Outdoor bath
Fukiage open-air Onsen is a natural hot spring located on Mt. Tokachidake, surrounded by a picturesque forest known for its winter snowscapes. This free and 24-hour accessible bathing spot offers two pools of different temperatures, with one being significantly hotter than the other. Visitors are advised to be cautious on the narrow and slippery path leading to the onsen. The larger pool provides a more moderate temperature, while the smaller one is notably hotter.
This is truely an amazing experience. I recommend all to check out it. If you go early you will probably be alone in winter. If it's snowing it's near Disney style magical. As everyone else has said the top onsen will burn you it's crazy hot but the bottom is a really good temperature. Make sure to bring a bag to put your gear else you are walking back up the steps very wet and cold! And bring your own towels
Chris F — Google review
We had a rainy, cold day in August, so it was wonderful to soak in a hot onsen while rain fell around us. It's just a short walk to this hidden gem. (Please note that locals may be nude, as is traditional at authentic onsen)

Free of charge. For some reason google wrongly mentions tickets. It’s surrounded by trees. 2 baths - one is 44 temp, the other one close to 50. 2 toilet boots in the free parking area (not clean). Recommended !

For ever I love this place. First time I came was in 2022 winter. Then in 2024 winter and now for 5 days in winter 2025. Always plenty of snow, beautiful nature, peaceful hot spring, nice meeting with local and foreigners.

Temperature is 5C cool than Biei downtown. A short walk from the destinated carpark, free to use mixed onsen, swimsuit or fully naked allowed, water is quite hot especially for the upper pool, I think best would be come in winter for this onsen experience but then again, road leading to here is windy, with snow and ice covering the road will be made it more dangerous to drive up here.
Will T — Google review
Went here with the family as the wife suggested it, maybe wasn’t such a good idea because my daughter didn’t want to see old naked people. It was really a beautiful location and a very good setup. The people were welcoming and friendly but the water was a bit too hot for us to get in. It hadn’t rained in a while. I dropped a star as I foolishly used the porta loo at the entrance and holy moly the smell was a bit traumatic. I don’t think it has ever been emptied.
Paul F — Google review
Beautiful outdoor onsen in forrested nature Off 150m walk from the parking lot Despite suggested etiquette, onsen goers were naked when I visited This is a free nature onsen, no entry fee (the ¥700 mentioned on Google Maps refers to the other onsen in the Health Center across the road)
Joachim A — Google review
Due to heavy snowfall, there was a road closure which would have taken me a mere 15 minutes drive. The drive ended up taking 45 minutes. However it was worth it. Went there in the morning at 8am. The place was easy to find and had a huge car park. The path down to the onsen is narrow and slippery so go with care. The upper pool was really hot. The bottom pool was more accommodating and felt really good after getting used to. Stayed for about 15 minutes only as it got too hot. Really nice with the snow falling on your head. Not recommended to go at night in winter as it’s pitch dark and can get quite dangerous.

This was the first lavender farm I’d been to in Japan. This one is in Naka-Furano. We followed the pathway painted purple from the train station to the farm…very easy. We paid 700 yen to go up and down on the chairlift. At the top, there are photo spots. We enjoyed our time at this small farm.

My wife and I arrived at the lavender field on one evening in July but the sun setting behind the hill had cast the entire field in shadows. The vibrant colours of flowers were subdued. So, we left and returned early the next morning. This time, the flower fields were lit under a clear blue sky. We were so early that our rental car was the only vehicle in the car park. There was no crowd and we almost enjoyed the flower fields to ourselves! The flowers were beautiful in the early morning light without strong sunlight and contrast. Some of the flowering plants have not fully grown in their plots, and the earth is visible between the plants. Notwithstanding, it was still a beautiful sight.

The chair lift was so much fun! There are a lot of photo stops at the top so it was definitely a memorable experience. Loved every moment of it!
Tina C — Google review
Beautiful flowers! Great place to chill since it's not crowded. The chair lift ride to the observation deck was fun 😁
Piaya P — Google review
Went on 16 June 2025. The chairlift price has increased to 700 yen for adults and 350 yen for children. Even though there are not a lot of flowers, it was still fun to go up and enjoy the view from up there.
Shuzhen C — Google review
A smaller flower field compared to others like Shikisai-oka or Tomiya farm next by, but I think it’s good to stop by if you have already been to the other places. There is free parking, ice cream, and especially a lift chair to take you to the top. Therr are also many set ups for sitting, relaxing, taking photos. I came during the summer holiday and oh my it was full of foreign tourists though…

Visited on June 24 in the early morning. You can easily visit here before going to Farm Tomita. There are many varieties of flowers here, they are all being planted in a very organized way. Absolutely stunning if they are all in full bloom. I am sure you will have a better experience here around mid July and you can be on the cable car too.

Restaurant
Furano Wine House is a modern venue offering stunning views of the countryside through its large windows. It is known for serving delicious dishes such as fondue, steaks, and Japanese barbecue, accompanied by locally produced wines. The restaurant provides an opportunity to savor Furano's famous cheese fondue made with local cheese, which is a rare find in Japan due to the region's reputation as a center for cheese making.
1. Location - it perched on top of a hill overlooking at the Furano town. Very beautiful. The property is unusually quiet and serene. 2. The food was fantastic. We ordered the set A that comes with the beef which we upgraded with the Hokkaido Wagyu and the set B with pork. Our son had the red wine beef while our daughter had pasta. For drinks, we chose the grape juice made from the wine grapes. Expectedly sweet, but not excessive. 3. The ambience was peaceful mostly, disrupted by occasional groups of tourist speaking at the top of their voices. The restaurant mostly arranged these groups in a separate room except a smaller group of elderly tourists. It would be a lot better if the diners could whisper. Otherwise, it was a very pleasant experience.

The food, services, and atmosphere with a view like this place are all perfect 💯 It's absolutely one of the best fine dining in Hokkaido. All my family really enjoyed the experience (we came as a group of 50 people)
Anton K — Google review
Don’t think you can call yourself a Wine House if you fall short of standard restaurant practices and etiquette by so much. Perhaps I’m overly critical but I’m reviewing this as a wine lover. 1) Quality of wine is so low it was shocking. I regret not taking a look at cellar tracker before visiting the wine house. The low scores were indeed accurate. 2) Price of wine was comparable to entry tier European fine wines but obviously the quality was nowhere near. Around 3500-4000yen for crappy wine. 3) Selection of wines were extremely limited. Seriously you shouldn’t call yourself a wine house. The vintages were also not displayed in the menu and when queried, the vintages were all recent years with one vintage per type of wine. Now we move on to the food. It was mediocre. Overpriced. You can get much better food elsewhere in town. Don’t waste your time here. Extremely disappointed.

Went there for dinner two nights ago. We were the only table there. Walked in without reservation. Cheese fondue was very good. We order extra fondue, extra bread and extra vegetables. Kids shared a four cheese pizza. And we had venison and Wagyu steaks. Also had a bottle of Furano wine. Very fruity and went well with the food which was made with local ingredients. Bill was more than 50,000 yen which was a lot more compared to the other local restaurants. But we did enjoyed the food.
Stella T — Google review
We first visited the wine house in the basement. Cool experience and they allow samples of their wine without the pushy sales experience. There are also barrels upon barrels of wine in the cellar. At the upper deck, there is a restaurant. We ordered cheese fondue and loved it. Could do with a little more vegetables, but the experience was memorable
Rachel — Google review
Visited on Feb 2024, noon. Menu largely consists of various Western-style steaks, and they are generally decent and prepared quickly. I felt that the cheese fondue's not worth it, despite how delicious the name and the pictures look.
Sam — Google review
Restaurant with amazing view and fantastic wine. I’ve ordered the white wine and the taste of the wine is really special, it doesn’t taste really strong of the alcohol however it has a really fragrant smell. The cheese fondue is pretty delicious and the pork patty is quite tender and overall is quite a good experience.

Their grape juice and furano steaks is a must order. I've been to furano twice and I'm still amazed but the food quality.

Ski & Snowboard Areas
Nestled in the heart of Hokkaido, Furano Ski Resort is a hidden gem that offers an unforgettable winter experience. With 28 ski runs spread across two interconnected zones—the Furano and Kitanomine zones—this family-friendly destination caters to all skill levels, from beginners to seasoned pros. Beyond skiing and snowboarding, visitors can indulge in relaxing hot springs or engage in English-speaking kids' activities, making it perfect for families.
It’s one of Hokkaido’s hidden gems for skiers and snowboarders looking for top-quality powder, fewer crowds, and a stunning mountain backdrop. Split into two main zones—Furano Zone and Kitanomine Zone—the resort offers a variety of runs for all skill levels, from smooth beginner slopes to exciting off-piste terrain. What makes Furano stand out is its consistent snow quality, well-groomed trails, and excellent lift infrastructure (including fast gondolas and modern chairlifts). It’s especially appealing to those who want a more relaxed and less touristy alternative to Niseko, but still crave that famous Hokkaido powder. The town of Furano adds charm to the experience with its cozy atmosphere, great local food (try the curry or cheese dishes!), and hot spring options. The resort also has ski-in/ski-out accommodations and English-friendly services, making it very foreigner-friendly without feeling over-commercialized. Pros: • Amazing powder snow • Variety of runs for all levels • Fewer crowds compared to Niseko • Great value and authentic Japanese vibe Cons: • Limited nightlife • Smaller size compared to major resorts • Less off-piste than backcountry-focused spots
Akanksha R — Google review
I chose this ski resort initially because it had wide slopes for beginners. However, during my recent visit, their lift broke down, and I saw people hanging on the lift for more than 30 minutes waiting for rescue. I think they have poor maintenance at the ski resort, and I do not recommend it.
Ivan — Google review
Great ski resort! If you’re skiing here, this hotel is basically mandatory. Rental shop right out front—just step outside, strap in, and pray for good balance. No long walks, no heavy lifting—just you, the snow, and the occasional wipeout!

Beautiful views as you ski. 😍 The furano side greens are harder than the other side. So I stayed in kitanomine most of the time. The lifts are efficient and the staff are all polite.
Musho P — Google review
Would have given more stars if one of the chairlifts were working. Also price of food at the hotel restaurants were expensive. Edit: Our second day was way better, we decided to ski the kitakome side . The runs there were better, and all the lifts were not crowded. Change review to 4 stars. I would still rate higher if the broken chairlift wasn't a factor.
Rick G — Google review
Very nice skiing area. But, one lift Furano Downhill Swift Lift no. 1 is out of service. Therefore, the whole lift service of the area is out of sync. Therefore you must wait 30-60 minutes for the gondola service on a regular weekday. We are having a nice experience skiing, but this lift at fault really give you less value for money and time. Check out if the lift service is running before going? Also, contrary to all other gondola operators, they do not fill up the platform while waiting for a gondola arrival. So, first, at arrival the line start to move - loosing another 10 minutes. The egg lifts here take 6 person but they fill with 2-4 persons. This way, the line build up and creates more waiting time than needed. Both the gondola and egg lift lines steel valuable time from skiing - sad since it is not necessary.

Snow is powder type and friendly for beginner. Off seasons kind of less crowded and have more rooms to learnt to ski. Only downside that it only open till 1600hrs.

Furano snow land for children, after you alight from the bus, enter the hotel, turn right, walk through the gift shop, walk down the stairs, and out of the hotel, turn right you will see a car park. Across the road there is a souvenir shop, turn left and you will find the snow land. Pay money at the counter. Roughly you need 2 hours to finish playing everything, take note lunch break is about 12-1pm. If you want to save money, our kids had the most fun playing the sled, and it was the cheapest option. If you have cash to splash then play everything, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves

Ramen restaurant
Furano Tomikawa noodle shop is a popular spot in Furano, known for its use of local ingredients and homemade noodles without MSG. The restaurant offers a variety of ramen flavors including soy sauce, miso, and salt. The light yet flavorful fish and chicken broth soup complements the Ishiuchi Chukasoba noodles made from whole wheat flour, resembling soba.
Excellent ramen noodles with pork, half egg and a supplement of asparagus. Simple and pleasing.

The home made ramen noodles is springy. Order the shoyu base ramen which is the shop top seller. It comes with a sliver of broad noodles which is good. Add 1 portion of spring onions for 150 yen and the onions taste sweet! The salt base soup is a tad too salty.

Best ramen restaurant in Furano. Hugely popular among locals. The soup taste light at first instant but get tastier. The noodles are hand make by the owner and texture is somewhere between soba and ramen. Parking lots is limited and can park 4 cars. Highly recommended.

Tomita Melon House is a must-visit stop surrounded by Hokkaido's beautiful nature. As you step into the store, you'll be captivated by their glass cases filled with melons. They offer an array of melon-based treats including ice cream, bread, juice, and other desserts. The exquisite melon ice cream is a favorite among visitors. While the prices may seem high compared to supermarkets, the top-notch quality justifies it.
Having visited Tomita Melon House twice, I can confidently say it’s a place that perfectly captures the taste and charm of Hokkaido summers. Located just next to the iconic Farm Tomita, this spot has become a favorite destination for melon lovers like me. On both visits, the freshly sliced Furano melons stole the show. The melons here are incredibly sweet, juicy, and perfectly ripe—each slice feels like a celebration of Hokkaido’s rich agricultural bounty. Whether you enjoy them by the slice, half, or whole, the quality is consistently excellent. The melon-infused treats are another highlight. I tried the melon soft serve on my first visit, and it was so good I had to have it again the second time! Creamy and delicately sweet, it’s the perfect summer indulgence. On my second trip, I explored more of their offerings, like the melon smoothie and their famous melon bread (melon pan). The bread’s soft texture and luscious melon-flavored filling made it unforgettable. What makes Tomita Melon House special isn’t just the food—it’s the experience. Sitting on the wooden deck with a slice of melon or a dessert in hand, gazing at the breathtaking Tokachidake mountain range, is an unbeatable way to relax and soak in the natural beauty of Hokkaido.

The melon soft serve was creamy and pleasant, though perhaps not as intensely flavourful as expected. The melon juice was refreshing and naturally sweet. The outdoor seating and spacious layout make it ideal for families and tour groups. While it’s clearly geared towards tourists, it’s still a fun and photogenic stop on a sunny day, especially during peak melon season.

Good rest/meal area from the sweltering heat of 40 degrees, weather that I least expected. This Melon House is a collection of eating areas which include obviously the melon, bakery, pizza and burgers/curry rice. Next door to Farm Tomita, but IMHO has sweeter and juicier melons than Tomita. The melon bun is 10/10 with a crusty exterior like a bolo bun but with the sweet natural melon cream. The wagyu beef curry is outstanding.

The best melon I have ever tried. It is delicious. They come in different serves, such as plain melon, orange melon plus green melon, melon plus ice cream, ice cream melon, smoothie melon, melon soft drinks, pizza with melon, melon flavoured ice cream, melon milkshake and much much much much more.

Easily the best melons I’ve had in my life. Incredibly sweet and juicy. Also the most expensive in my life at 1,500 Yen for 2 slices (1 red and 1 green). Still definitely worth a try. The Melon Bun with Red Melon Cream was very good too, excellent bun texture (like a Hong Kong pineapple bun), though the filling could have been better distributed throughout the bun. If you are coming from somewhere with good wines, and you are a wine fanatic, you will be a bit disappointed. The riesling is passable, nothing else was. The staff were not interested in us at all (maybe because we were foreigners) and didn't explain any of their products as you would normally expect at a cellar door, which was very disappointing. I don't expect that they would speak english but either using google translate or pre printed cards to take us through the wines they produce would be the bare minimum expected at a cellar door. Otherwise it's just a bottle shop. Some free and paid wine tastings available. View was very nice, and the downstairs area showed some parts of the manufacturing process.
N T — Google review
Pleasant exploring the winery and learning the process of making red and white wine! You can taste 3 wines for free and many other wines at a small cost. You can buy many selections of wine there. They accept most credit cards (but not Youtrip), and they are not tax free at all.

Our day trip to the town of Biei had us stopping here. Founded in 1972, views from here are very picturesque. EXPERIENCE: No active production can be seen here, like the majority of public Hokkaido manufacturing. Walk and read the signs if you wish. An aging room can be viewed behind glass windows but I wouldn’t stay in there long as it had a funky odor and what looked like black mold on the walls. Upstairs you’ll find a tasting room with a self-serve station featuring 2 types of white and 2 types of red wine dispensed from tiny barrels. Thereafter is the gift shop. TIP: Their grape juice factory is closed until 2025. OVERALL: Visit to taste the wine and purchase. Skip everything else.

Located about four kilometers to the east of the main Farm Tomita facility, Lavender East is a sprawling 14-hectare lavender field that offers a spectacular sight. Visitors can take a rustic tractor-drawn carriage ride through the expansive fields and enjoy the breathtaking views. The area was originally rice paddies before being transformed into the largest lavender fields in Furano.
Hot and scorching. Free entry. Do rmb to bring your UV umbrella along. This place is less touristy than Farm Tomita. You can get the same Farm Tomita merchandise here as well. This place is just a lavender farm so there is not much other flower varieties as compared to Farm Tomita. Didn’t take the tractor ride (500yen per adult) as it circles around the farm only. Prob can spend about 1hour here. There is a small section with 3 wells for you to try. do give it a try! The natural well waters are very cool to touch under the hot summer. 😌

We came this morning, the second day they open for business this season. Not crowded at all and most of the visitors were Japanese. The lavender field is way bigger here and this is where they eventually harvest for making perfume and soap. A very good complement to the Farm Tomita main site.

I visited Lavender East on 29th June, 2025. The view was nice but all Lavender not bloomed yet. You can take bus ticket to visit the entire Lavender farm, it take 500 yen/adult. This is the largest lavender farm in Japan. Also you can enjoy Tokachi volcano from here. Enjoy.

I quite enjoyed Farm Tomita. Unfortunately though the lavender was all but blossomed. I would recommend checking in advance so you avoid wasting time. Otherwise they have a nice lavender shop and multiple dessert places so you can always find something to do even if the weather is bad or lavender not blossomed.

Love this place. The aroma of lavender is in the air! We went there at 9 am, and no one was there yet so we had good time taking photos before the crowd comes at around 10am.There is a kinda bus ( tractor) that carry tourists for a ride around the lavender farm. This place is less crowded compared to the main Tomita Farm.

This is Farm Tomita's second area of fields in the bottom of the valley. There is a gift shop, food stand, toilets and a covered seating area. There are also far fewer visitors than at the main site. They offer tractor rides around the fields. This is where you come if you want a lavender field picture with no people in it.

This farm is not very big but it is beautiful. Although some area do not have colorful plant or flower, but it is still beautiful. Enjoy taking a scroll.

Very vast and endless fields of lavender—it was such a joy to see them. To be honest, the ice cream was just average, though the price was reasonable.

Furano Burger is a unique spot known for its delicious pork burgers and sausages. While it primarily offers takeout, there's also a small open grassy area where you can dine and enjoy the good food with a great view. The bacon in the burger is particularly tasty, and the accompanying potatoes are soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside. Despite potential long queues, visitors find that the delicious food, friendly staff, and scenic views make it well worth a visit.
Do not go famished or else you’re probably have to go through a spout of hanger. The wait can get quite long for your burger to be ready - think 1 hour+ during peak season. Also make sure to check their opening hours and dates before you head there. But all in all worth the wait and not many places with a better backdrop to eat your burger at 🍔

Good saucy beef burgers. Well balanced taste and feels healthy. Inaccessible unless driving. Reminds me of a MOS Burger, but with a better meat patty, crispier lettuce, and a mayo/mustard sauce rather than tomato. Went at 10.50 and had to wait 50 minutes. Outdoor terrace beside the restaurant was very relaxing, so the wait wasn't too bad. Torinuma park nearby is good to visit in summer, they have free boat rides and the groundskeeper is friendly!

Furano's long-established, popular Furano Burger 🍔 Made with local Furano bacon and vegetables, the burgers enjoyed in this outstanding location are exceptional. Currently, it's takeout only, and you need to wait over an hour.

Burger less juicy than expect, normal. Very fresh veggie inside. We order plate set, in fact the sausage is just so so and the potato’s for me is not a lover therefore I prefer skip the plater. Outside fresh air, but start raining when burger finishing at 70% My view is that pricey and burger is so so. Open area with weather is good that’s great. If not that just another take away burger shop!

Having a burger while relaxing in a scenic field while enjoying the cool outdoor weather is a real treat. The burger itself had lots of vegetables and the bacon was well cooked - far different from the usual experience with japanese bacon. The beef patty was decent but could have been a bit moister. Potatoes as a side was too salty and dry. Torinuma park is just next door and is a great place to explore as well

This is an awesome place to have some great burger and sausage. This place also very unique. They only serves take away service. However, we can also eat there at a small open grassy area to dine. Good view, good food with good people. Will be back

We found this randomly while jogging.. This the best burger we had (we tried the viral burgers in osaka and tokyo). Well balanced meat, sauce and veggies! Its beside a farm which is so relaxing.

This is one of the most delicious hamburger I ever took before. It is far from city side, but it is worth to try. But, you need to be prepared for long queue...

Italian restaurant
Nestled in the charming town of Furano, Rincontro is a delightful Italian eatery that truly captures the essence of homemade cuisine. This one-chef operation specializes in crafting exquisite pasta from scratch, ensuring each dish bursts with flavor and authenticity. During lunch hours, diners can indulge in a variety of pasta options paired with tempting appetizers and refreshing drinks as part of a set menu. As evening approaches, the offerings expand to include enticing starters and hearty meat or fish mains.
The food here was excellent and the prices were extremely reasonable. The small restaurant seats about 10 in total and is run by a pleasant Japanese gentleman. We ordered the beef cheek pasta and really enjoyed it - the sauce was flavourful, beef tender and well seasoned, and the texture of the handmade fresh pasta amazing with a nice springy bite. The roasted duck breast with grain mustard sauce was good too, though just note that the portion was smaller than the pasta. If you’re a (hungry) party of two, I’d recommend ordering a pasta each and then a main to share. Please also save space for dessert - the tiramisu and lemon tart were absolutely delicious. My only regret was not coming hungrier and trying more dishes. 10/10 would recommend. Reservations recommended.

We were very lucky to have a table at this restaurant. With a capacity of only 12 seats, we barely secured a table by being the first ones there- PLEASE RESERVE BEFOREHAND. That being said, it was a very memorable experience. An Italian restaurant with subtle Japanese touches, all three courses we had were delicately made; all dishes demonstrated chef's profound understanding of flavors and cooking techniques. The appetizer was an assortment, put together by different but complimentary elements. The beef tenderloin had a wonderful crust with a perfect medium rare, together with the mushroom sauce and a hint of tomatoes. Finally, the desert tiramisu and lemon tart was the perfect finish to the meal. The peach ice cream on the side balanced the rich deserts, ending our experience satisfyingly. 9/10 We wish we could try some of the pasta dishes, unfortunately we were too stuffed. Must try!

This place is a gem in the beautiful Furano town, serving great Italian food. A small restaurant with around 10 - 12 seats. Beef cheek pasta done al dente and very flavourful. Squid ink risotto was good. Lemon tart excellent. Very reasonable price. A very satisfied dinner!

We had an outstanding lunch in this western restaurant. Their appetiser consists of a few biteful of vegetables or eggs which are delicately prepared. The pasta are handmade and the bolognaise and prawn pasta taste wonderful. The shopkeeper is very friendly. The restaurant is spacious and quiet. We enjoyed this meal very much.

Okay, so best restaurant in all of Furano! We were 4 people and we ordered 1 pizza and 4 desserts 😂 We ordered: Margherita pizza (because we are vegetarians) Tiramisu Coconut panna cotta Hazelnut semifreddo (ordered twice because it was so so so so sooo good). Must try for everyone.

Enjoyed our last dinner at furano very much! Every bite was so yummy. Would come again if we had another day at furano.

Surprisingly super awesome!! We were lucky and got squeezed in (normally you need a reservation. The chef was so nice and everything was perfect. The wine, the food, the service, and the price!! I can’t believe how delicious everything was and how cheap it was!! We had a bottle of wine, a pizza, a pasta, and the Ezo Deer is ossobuco! Definitely recommended if you’re ever in Furano. Sorry we only go a pic of the ossobuco because we forgot to take pictures. We were starving but left very full and happy. Check this place out for sure!!!

The desserts here is one of the best i have tasted in the world! Do yourself a favour and try their lemon tart and tiramisu. Flavour profile is balanced and ingredients were very fresh! Definitely not overtly sweet. As for the pasta, the noodle itself is overcook for my own liking, I usually prefer it to be more al dente, but thats just me. We ordered the prawns with lobster sauce pasta and marinara. Marinara was more to my liking, you can raste the freshness of the pomodoro. The lobster sauce was a bit too creamy for me. Decent wine list and priced reasonably. They do not accept reservation. Opens at 11am, first come first serve.
