Tirta Gangga is a serene spiritual retreat featuring stunning gardens and natural springs, offering opportunities for swimming and picnicking. The area surrounding Tirta Gangga is rich in tourist attractions, including the majestic Mount Agung, the Telaga Waja river for water rafting, the charming beach town of Candidasa, and the ancient village of Tenganan. Sidemen Valley is a hidden gem with beautiful rice fields, colorful markets, and a strong sense of community.

A peaceful and beautiful place, perfect for a relaxing visit. The gardens and water features are stunning, with spectacular views all around. There are some tourists, but it’s not overcrowded, which makes the experience even more enjoyable. While it’s possible to see everything in about 30 minutes, I highly recommend staying longer to truly enjoy the calm atmosphere and take in the peaceful surroundings. Definitely worth a visit.

A beautiful place located just off the road. Peaceful, colorful, and incredibly charming. A very vast area with many nooks and crannies that many people overlook. It's worth buying fish food at the local stalls. It's quite crowded, but the place is worth visiting for its unique charm. Paid parking is available on-site, with plenty of spaces. Restaurants serving good food and quick service are located both on-site and nearby, and prices are practically the same as everywhere else.

This was an absolutely beautiful and historic location that feels like stepping into a living postcard. We visited Tirta Gangga as part of our East Bali Tour programme. This is a very well maintained and clean place, which was used as a former water palace. We learned it was named after the sacred river Ganges in India. You can hop on and walk on stones to cross the ponds. There are so many well-fed and big koi fishes in ponds that look lovely. We had also visited Ubud Water Palace before, Tirta Gangga is bigger than that so it was worth visiting. There is also a cafe & restaurant you can sit and relax.

I visited Tirta Gangga and it was truly a sight to behold. This former royal water palace is incredibly scenic — a gorgeous blend of tranquil pools, flowing fountains, lush gardens, and traditional stone statues. A beautiful and historic water palace with a peaceful atmosphere. It was a good experience overall, though quite crowded when we visited. We didn’t manage to get any great shots ourselves, but many people do, it’s definitely a very photogenic spot. Tip: go early in the morning to avoid the crowds and get the best photos. Worth a visit if you’re in the area!

Beautiful remote beach. You have to take some care getting in and out of the water, ie time your entry and exit with the waves, as the swell is strong and it gets very deep quickly. We made friends with some locals and they showed us an easier way to access the beach.

Very nice and almost empty black volcanic sand beach (were about 3 pm.). There’re two ways to reach it: stone stair leading to the boats (before the google spot, not very obvious to find) and the google spot stone stairs leading to the bamboo ladder. If you’re not risky person choose the 1st stair. The beach is clean and beautiful. The road from Seraya is narrow with ups and downs (low car can suffer a little bit).

What a hidden gem! I've seen many black sand beaches in my life but I must say this was the best one so far! I arrived there around 1pm (March, 2024) and there was absolutely nobody except me. I went down the bamboo ladder which is in a good condition now and when I was already down, I realized there's another way to get there, by stairs 🙂 The bamboo ladder made it more adventurous tho 😜 It's beautiful, clean, empty and peaceful. I've been to Amed hundreds of times and I've never seen this beach before so it was a great surprise. It takes around 30min drive to get there from the center of Amed.

Be very careful about the waves because they are strong and can easily suck you into the sea with rocks on each side. Could be fatal. However it's beautiful to see and you will probably be alone there. Use stairs as ladder is broken and cannot be trusted imo. Don't expect any shops, toilet or anything. One of the best looking beaches I've been to even if not for swimming (unless you are brave/crazy to do it).

Tenganan Pegringsingan Village is a hidden gem that offers an authentic glimpse into the rich cultural tapestry of Bali. Tenganan Pegringsingan Village is a very unique and culturally rich place to visit. The traditional houses, weaving demonstrations, and overall atmosphere give you a real glimpse into Bali’s heritage. The villagers are welcoming but not pushy, which made walking around feel relaxed. One thing to note is that while the environment is generally well kept, I did notice a few spots with the smell of dog poop here and there, which can be a little distracting at times. It’s not overwhelming, but just something to be aware of while exploring the pathways. Overall, it’s worth visiting for the authenticity, history, and local crafts, definitely a highlight of the area, with just a few small things that could be improved for comfort.

Amazing experience learning culture of original Balinese people here. It's quite an eye opening experience to see what the people here have to offer and their way of life. I like the entrance fee is based on donation instead of standard charge rate, it's earnest and doesn't make the village feel like money making zone. We left Tenganan Pegringsingan Village with a heart full of peace and admiration. Lovely cultural experience. When you arrive they ask you for a donation, this money goes towards the children's education and construction of the new temple. From what we saw, people donated roughly $50-100k, but it's up to you Once you donated, a guide (ours spoke excellent English) will take you through the village and explain their local customs, religion, and the significance of their culture to you. He'll take you to his house and offer you the chance to purchase their wares (our guide had a wife that weaves, so they offered us a chance to buy their heritage listed fabrics). You're not pressured to buy, though it's nice if you do. Overall the tour was very informative, the people were very friendly, and we ended up visiting the local honey farm too and buying some local honey while learning more about the black bees narrative to this region. Great way to learn more about the original inhabitants of this island and their culture.

The truest Balinese village without Majapahit and other external influence. In my opinion, it is the most underrated authentic Balinese village that still exist and untouched. Look for Cobby, a young chap who is always passionate about his root and culture, for the best local guide and activities around the neighbourhood. Blue Lagoon Beach is a serene resort with villas surrounded by gardens, featuring a spa, pool, and a restaurant/bar overlooking the sea. Located on the east side of Bali islands, it's about 1.5 hours from Kuta by car but well worth the drive. The beach is a hidden paradise and a top spot for snorkeling enthusiasts due to its clear waters and rich coral reefs teeming with colorful fish.

Just make sure not to step on corals since it's quite shallow. There are some rubbing near the shore which can dampen the mood, but the fishes made up for it.

Turns out as a gray or green lagoon? LOL! I don't know, you be the judge. Could be due to the gloomy cloudy weather when I arrived, but as far as I know, a lagoon color should not be affected very much by the daylight, unless extreme weather maybe. The beach was not enticing at all, with rubbish all over. There was heavy raining the day before till the morning so I'll give this blue lagoon claim a benefit of doubt. We stayed for a while and left without entering the water because the wave looks rough. Worth a visit? Definitely not. Still want to visit? Than better wait for nice sunny weather.

The beach is small, but with light sand. The waves are strong, the water is a beautiful color, but since the port is located right behind the cape of the lagoon, at some point there was a lot of debris and muck floating in the water that was thrown overboard from tourist ships or elsewhere, and this made swimming in this place unpleasant. An interesting fact was that tourists book a snorkeling package on the other side of the cape, which is actually just a hill climb away, and then they are brought a few dozen meters around the cape to the lagoon to snorkel, when at the same time you could walk for 15 minutes and then rent a snorkeling gear on the lagoon and do it yourself there 😀. Is this a place where you can ride a scooter for 45 minutes...then the answer is no, it didn't make me feel like I would make such a trip again.

A small lagoon that could be so good if looked after, but sadly is being used and not maintained. A short walk (think meters) from Padang Bai up a steep tarmac slope and down a flight of rough steps. Parking at the top 2K for bikes, 5k for cars. The small bay has a couple of bars that rent out snorkelling equipment (60k for fins, mask, snorkle). The beach is as rubbish strewn as the path down to the bay and sadly this rubbish is floating around the reef. It is only a small area of reef which is basically in the bay you can see. The water was clear when we were there, just with a haze of bits floating around. As you enter the water from the beach there are a few strong waves but as soon as you are past them it becomes easy to paddle around. The reef is not deep and easy to dive down. There are an OK range of fish to see, probably more for beginner snorkellers. A few interesting corals in different colours. An hour is probably all you to need to fully explore the reef.

The views from 1B are gorgeous. Otherwise you need to appreciate a rustic experience. Eg. Showers outside (privacy protected or course) water lukewarm, if it's pouring and you don't like mixing cool rain water with shower, then it's a problem.

Topi Inn was our tour operator and guide to take us snorkelling out to Blue Lagoon and surrounds. We are a family of 5 including 3 teenagers. Ride out was smooth and fun. Boat was a traditional style boat so it felt authentic. Our guide was in the water with us pointing out the turtle and special fish. Water was super clear and not a shark in sight - they say they don't get them there. We felt safe and super happy with the experience. Food was ready for us when we got back. There were also toilets and showers available.

Snorkeling with lunch! Saw the beautiful coral and almost every fish that I’ve ever seen in a US Aquarium at the Blue Lagoon. After you shower if you want, they provided a delicious lunch with vegetarian options; I had fried noodles with vegetables and an egg, which was very filling after all the swimming I enjoyed. Some people recorded their snorkeling with a GoPro, which was fun. They are such nice owners and staff that really deserve your business! They arranged a wonderful massage for me. I walked back for dinner and ate a prawns (shrimp) appetizer, a tuna dinner, then followed by dessert. Yummy seafood—all delicious! Beautiful view of the Harbor. Vacation vibe and fun Spanish music. I will return again.

what a great experience! We found this restaurant by chance while visiting Tirta Gangga. The target group of this place is certainly not Indonesians, however it did not disappoint in terms of taste. It was simple enough to enjoy and not overly made to the point it was pretentious. Not something I would frequent, but it was a great place to bring overseas guests and introduce them to Balinese cuisine. Staffs were very friendly and the owner herself was present to serve some of the dishes, which I found was a nice little touch of detail.

We visited this restaurant for lunch one afternoon and there was literally no one else there. What a shame. The restaurant is so beautiful. Then it has such great view of the paddy field. They even have the bathroom with a view. The staff is so very nice. And the food is great. We even loved their menu. They have a whole asli Bali (real Bali) theme going on and they have taken it very seriously. Since I am vegetarian, they made all the balinese dishes vegetarian for me. It was so very kind of them. While you are waiting for the food, they serve you rice flour chips with such tasty chutney, you would just want to eat those and nothing else.

Indian restaurant

I travel a lot in India, and we tried this restaurant. What a wonderful surprise! The menu is really extensive, and the tastes and flavors are truly varied. We went there twice and are planning to go back again. The service is very pleasant and friendly. The waitresses are cute, very kind, and attentive. The place is calm, which makes the experience even more enjoyable. It’s truly a great discovery and an excellent spot to enjoy Indian food in Bali. Go, go, go, 👍❤️☀️😉😀😀
