Bali Safari and Marine Park, also known as Taman Safari Indonesia 3, is a family-friendly destination located in Serongga Village, Gianyar Regency, Bali Province. It offers a unique experience by combining wildlife in their natural habitat with Balinese culture. The park serves as a breeding ground for endangered animals and houses over 60 species within large enclosures that mimic their natural environments.
What an awesome day out for the whole family! I initially thought the ticket prices were a bit much, but after my visit, I felt it was well worth the price. Seeing the variety of animals was impressive, and the staff were all friendly and helpful. The food was great, and we never had to wait too long. Definitely make the trip, and take the kids, they'll never forget it!

I absolutely loved my visit to Taman Safari Zoo! The animals were clearly well cared for, and it was such an incredible experience to see them up close. The lions were breathtaking, coming right up to the caged vehicle we were in, and the tiger was phenomenal as it leapt onto the truck, giving us an unforgettable close encounter. The elephants were simply beautiful, along with the zebras and so many other amazing animals throughout the park. The staff were fantastic—helpful, friendly, and welcoming—which made the experience even better. To top it all off, we enjoyed a buffet dinner at the on-site restaurant, which offered a delicious and extensive variety of dishes. We were also entertained by a performance. Overall, it was a beautiful place and an experience I highly recommend!

It’s a zoo. Expect a zoo. The drinks and food are expensive. The main show was actually very cool with the “domestic animals” being almost circus trained. I’ve never seen Guinea pigs or house cats perform tricks. They wild animals were less trained but still cool. Coolest thing we saw was the bearcats and the hornbills. My son was taught how to play the Rindik (traditional xylophone) for no cost. That was nice.

Bali Safari & Marine Park was an absolutely amazing experience for our family! From the moment we entered, we were greeted with warm smiles and helpful staff. The park is beautifully maintained, with immersive animal habitats and a perfect mix of education and entertainment. The safari journey was thrilling — seeing animals like elephants, tigers, and zebras up close was unforgettable. The animal shows were engaging and fun, and the cultural performances added a wonderful touch to the day. My children especially loved the interactive experiences and photo opportunities. A big thanks to the team for their friendliness and excellent service. This is a must-visit attraction in Bali that left us with beautiful memories.

The place is of great fun for family, the safari journey in the secured vehicle is great. You get to see alot of animals. The animal presentation shows Tiger, Elephant and Bird are amazing don't miss. It's better to go as early as possible since first show starts at 10:00 am. I recommend the first or basic package since you won't have time for the other options in higert pacakges

We had an amazing experience in Bali Safari. An interesting place to visit especially with children (as adults, we really enjoyed it). You can visit their website to buy the ticket in advance, and the price may vary based on what you want to do. They also offer a night safari. You might want to bring a cap or portable fan because the weather can get really hot most of the time.
Ariani — Google review
We were here with the rest of my colleague and their children, Anita and Shirley, Ashley, Aaron and Arion from Darwin. I stayed for 3days and they stayed longer. At the Safari, we met our tour guide Mr. Prasad, and saw not many animals only few. It feels like we were the last people to visit the Safari because its about to close down. As you can see only the stone animal figures I only captured in the Safari because there were only Monkeys, Elephants, Snakes, Tigers, Birds and Giraff. It's the usual animals of all the Safaris I've been to. There were no more wild animals in Safari.
Shirley M — Google review
The Bali Safari & Marine Park is well designed and there are many different kinds of animals and fish. The safari experience itself is okay, and the park definitely provides opportunities to see animals up close and learn more about them. In that sense, I appreciate that the park tries to raise awareness among visitors about different species and the importance of conservation. However, there are also some aspects that personally appeal to me less. For example, I find it unfortunate that there are still shows where animals perform tricks, and that elephant rides are offered. In my view, this is outdated and does not contribute to education or animal welfare. Additionally, I found the sustainability policy somewhat contradictory. For instance, you're not allowed to bring your own (sustainable) stainless steel water bottle into the park, while during the dolphin show they emphasize how harmful plastic is to the ocean. At the same time, plastic Le Minerale bottles are sold everywhere. If the park truly wanted to support sustainability and reduce plastic pollution, affordable water refill stations would be a much better and more credible solution than selling single-use plastic. As a result, the whole thing feels like greenwashing. In short: a beautiful park with great potential and a valuable educational approach, but there is definitely room for improvement in terms of animal welfare and credible sustainability efforts.

Waterfalls
Tukad Cepung Waterfall in Bali is a unique natural wonder that cascades through a cave opening, creating a mesmerizing sight as sunlight filters through. Unlike other popular waterfalls in Bali, Tukad Cepung offers the breathtaking experience of water flowing down rugged cliffs without forming a pool for swimming. The location provides an awe-inspiring view against the backdrop of the sky.
Had a lot of fun 'trekking' and wading through water to get to the waterfall. I was most at awe when looking up at the lush greenery surrounding you. There was also a very cute pool that you could swim in looking at one of the waterfalls. Went on a Sunday, wasn't horribly busy. Definitely need to bring water shoes.
Amanda — Google review
An incredible experience. The sheer force of the waterfall was mind-blowing. There weren't many people when I went on a Sunday afternoon (2.30-4PM) and the 4/5 people that were there didn't feel safe enough to actually get into the waterfall cave since it genuinely felt overpowering and the water pressure and splashes against the rock walls was all encompassing. With only two steps in, I was completely drenched. I did go in all the way and take some photos which were great and it was an amazing experience. Whilst I was walking/wading through the water, I almost stepped on a long brown snake, it then swam into the water past my legs - scary but I guess this is nature and expected. Just look where you're stepping! I also walked to the other side towards the small waterfall + pool - and this was a nice way to feel refreshed. For the adventurers, I highly recommend visiting!!!

Is actually about 40min walk from the car park without the queue for buying tickets until the most beautiful part of the waterfall. The stairs are high steps, pathway to the waterfall is rocky, need to wade through waters as deep as upper thigh. (not suitable for elderly / unfit / people with balancing issues / knee pain). To be able to see the waterfall from beautiful angles just like the photos, you need to be physically fit and no heart attack histories. Really beautiful scenery as in photos on a sunny day. Hidden details of a long walk, not wheelchair or stroller friendly. Risks:- slip and fall because of slippery rocks, when it rains, higher water level unable to see where the rocks are.

Once you park your vehicle a the parking where there are souvenir shops, you have to walk and climb steps down atleast for 25-30 minutes to reach the waterfall. Once you the bottom of the valley , you can either go left to the waterfall that is shown on instagram or other side where you can bathe. When we reached the cave area, there was along line . People were going into the cave one by one, getting pictures clicked and coming back and then the next couple or person was going. I think we had to stand for 1 1/2 to 2 hours before our turn came. You cant bathe under the waterfall, it is too forceful. You can just get clicked there. We went in the evening around 4pm and our turn came around 5.30 or 6pm and it wasnt bright. Thats why i read somewhere that the best time to go is 10am in the morning. There are changing rooms, toilet and they also rent towels on charging basis.
Prachi C — Google review
Access to the waterfall is quite exciting and requires some physical fitness, as the stairs are steep and the steps are high, you also have to go through the water flowing from the waterfall, and you climb over rocks or crawl between rocks to reach your destination. The current of the river took one of my sandals with it, so I had to buy new sandals that were also sold near the waterfall...so this was not the first time, so be careful with your shoes when going to the waterfall because the current is strong. There are also places to eat there. It is worth going because the journey to it is already an experience in itself and of course the waterfall itself is worth seeing.

2 beautiful waterfalls. Very very pleasant clean, clear, cool water. 1 hour to and from the carpark. Fairly well maintained paths, lots of steep steps, clean toilets. Reasonable entry fee of IDR300k per person. No one touting or hard selling.
Doris T — Google review
We went on a weekday around 2pm It takes exactly 20 mins to reach the waterfall. There are some 130-140 steep steps. There are 2 waterfalls once you get down . There was a queue to get clicked under the big one but small one was less crowded. We waited for 20 mins to grt our turn and got the pics clicked and then enjoyed the small waterfall. There are restaurants on the way back and restrooms at the start.. You need to use the same for changing.
Bhawana V — Google review
Entrance ticket is 30000IDR. Trust me the pictures or videos can not do justice to this place. You have to come by yourself to completely enjoy the reality of it. I am sure you would not regret your decision.. Please bring along a plastic bag or anything that protects your equipments from the water cuz trust me its gonna be water everywhere. Do bring water shoes or atleast wear something that's comfortable to walk at that terrain (just at some patches).. For adventurers like me i didnt care wearing flip flops cuz even the pain was worth it😁

Besakih Great Temple, also known as Pura Besakih, is the largest and most important Hindu temple in Bali. Situated in the Karangasem regency with Mount Agung as its backdrop, this holy site features 23 temples, including the central Pura Penataran Agung Besakih and 18 companion temples surrounding it.
Very nice place! Amazing. Not very crowded, you can see local Balinese people performing rituals, praying, and ceremonies. When you enter, a guide is assigned to you. We got Putu, an excellent guide who explained absolutely everything about the place, the statues, and the meaning of each thing. A beautiful experience! Highly recommend

Besakih Temple is absolutely majestic...known as the Mother Temple of Bali, it’s the largest and most sacred temple complex on the island. Located high on the slopes of Mount Agung, it offers incredible views and a deep spiritual atmosphere. The place feels powerful yet peaceful, surrounded by misty mountains and ancient stone gates. Make sure to wear a sarong (you can find it at the entrance) and go early to enjoy the calm before the tour groups arrive. A must-visit to experience the true soul of Bali!
Souad Y — Google review
Besakih Temple is the largest Hindu Temple in the island of Bali, built on the slope of Mount Agung: to be precise it's a complex of 25 different but related temples. The entrance is marked by a "Candi Bentar", the famous split gateway that can be found all over Bali. Unfortunately when I visited there was bad weather so I couldn't enjoy the view of the surroundings. The temple itself is quite nice.
Francesco X — Google review
It's a beautiful temple, definitely with a visit. It takes about 1.5 hours to greet there from Ubud, so plan your itinerary well. We went on a Monday, arrived at around noon, and experienced no wait to buy the ticket. The ticket includes a strong, a guide, and a 2 minute ride up to the temple entrance. You have to walk back down, though I did see the shuttle return with passengers so 🤷. There are lots of steps inside the complex, so come prepared. Steps are irregular, and I saw at least one person slip on what might have been moss. There are souvenir shops inside, as well as toilets.
Avneesh K — Google review
Visiting Pura Besakih, the Mother Temple of Bali, was an unforgettable experience. The complex is enormous and filled with history, spirituality, and breathtaking architecture. Walking through its many levels with Mount Agung rising in the background truly feels magical. What impressed me most was the atmosphere – it’s both deeply spiritual and welcoming. The views over the mountains and rice terraces are absolutely stunning, especially when the clouds move around the volcano. If you want to experience the heart of Balinese culture and spirituality, this is definitely a place not to miss.
Rhythmic B — Google review
I give it 2 stars because the place looks absolute georgous. There are at the moment renovations happening and because of this some parts are closed. Everthing else is a big scam as soon as they put a sarong on you, you already pass ladies with offerings and they told us every tourist have to buy. So we bought 100k for 2 offerings. Later with the prayer you HAVE to make an donation to make your offering, if you don't pay then the offering don't count. The guide was really looking into our wallets and said we have to pay around 50 dollars each. We paid some but definitely no 50 dollar each. They think Europeans are rich, but we are definitely not. He also takes you passed some photographers to take some pictures. I have to say the pictures looked amazing, but again you have to pay 350k for them. At the end of the tour the guide is begging for a tip and nothing was good enough everything was so low and he wasn't happy. ( I think in total we gave him like 50k) he wanted at least 100k The entrance tickets was 300k for 2 people including the guide. So my recommendations is that it's not worth the visit. You are being robbed of your money every step you take.
Gaby B — Google review
The temple itself was absolutely breathtaking—peaceful, grand, and well worth the visit. Unfortunately, the experience was overshadowed by the mandatory guide, who repeatedly pressured me for donations and tips. At one point, he even counted my donation in front of others, saying it was “too small,” which felt very uncomfortable and disrespectful. It’s a shame, because the spiritual atmosphere was beautiful, but the constant hassling made it hard to enjoy the moment. I hope future visitors can have a more respectful and serene experience.
E Y — Google review
Besakih Temple, Bali A true wonder of the world you can’t miss. The place has a very special energy, with stunning architecture and breathtaking views of Mount Agung. Every photo taken here looks like a work of art. An absolute must-see in Bali! Un imprescindible en Bali
